I really did try watching the Rami Trilogy again see if it might change my original opinion about the movies... it did in fact not. I don't think Tobey's performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man is accurate to what I read as a child. And that falls on the writers, I believe. I also think the movies didn't showcase how intelligent he was like the most recent adaptations especially Andrew's Peter Parker.
Don't even get me started how they wrote MJ. All that woman did was scream the entire time. And it felt like she loved Spider-Man more than Peter himself.
The only two good things that I love about these movies are Green Goblin and Doctor Otto Octavius. William Dafoe and Alfred Molina portray the characters so well. They were born for those roles.
For some reason though I loved his performance in No Way Home. He wasn't so serious. He felt more like Peter Parker than he did in his original films. He managed to be a bit funny, like when he was webbed in the face and made a quip about it. Or when Peter 1 is talking about the avengers. "The Avengers?! That's great! What is that?" "How is this helping?!"
Then after he's stabbed by the Green Goblin, and the sky is split open because of the spell and he says, "Is that happening or am I dying?"
It's the little things ya'll. The little things that matter.

Rogue is a great character, but I feel that some people in the fandom just water her character down to being nothing more than sex appeal or just Gambit's wife when she is so much more than that.

I love being a Romanticist, actually, because I can just look Historical Accuracy clean in the face and say, "You Have No Power Over Me."

Everyone's like "oh inzoi is gonna make everyone forget about the sims" and tbh...
I don't enjoy the hyper realism. I don't like the idea of actually working a job in the game. Sims has a level of fantasy and absurdism that I feel like life sims need to be, y'know. Fun.
I have zero interest in playing a life sim that's ACTUALLY like real life. Like if I had to play a game that was like the past year of my life I'd uninstall it so fast.
It'll be interesting to see how long it's staying power is.

Never liked the soulmates trope. Not only because nobody ever talks about the sociological implications (fun fact, I have a degree in sociology), but also because, in my case, it makes the relationship feel more shallow.
I much rather read about two characters chosing to be together out of their free will because they care and want things to work out. Instead of some external, somewhat omnipotent force that has decided it before them.
i can never write a soulmates au cause i very quickly stop thinking about romance and start thinking about the sociological implications of a world where soulmates are a confirmed verifiable thing

having some insomniac thoughts about how the public perception of the george vs max fight is affected by their PR personas, how much people value authenticity (or the appearance of being authentic) now in celeb culture, and how max uses that to his advantage….

NITRO CHiRAL fair Purchase Bonus Postcards [2024]
Figured I’d take a minute to scan the postcards that came with the merch I had preordered from eeo! If I’m not mistaken, I should only be missing the café one… which is likely because I didn’t order any of the café designs, haha. I love how cute all the new outfits are — I’d probably buy them all if they ever released official versions someday! These scans are available in better quality (along with their backs & front/back PDF sets) here.

Very specific Inukag type of angst I wish I found more in fics because it just hits different: Kagome slowly becoming indifferent to the love triangle drama and Inuyasha getting heart broken because he realizes he's losing her.

I don't know. I feel some sympathy for W'Kabi. His parents were killed when Klaw attacked Wakanda to steal vibranium, and for years, under T'Chaka's rule, he waited for them to be avenged. Nothing happened though and he thought it was going to be more of the same with T'Challa on the throne.
Killmonger knew exactly what he was doing, bringing Klaw's dead body to W'Kabi (Ross did say he specialized in destabilizing nations), so W'Kabi played right into his hand. Plus, we do know he and Killmonger already had a similar ideology from the conversation he had with T'Challa outside the rhino pens, so it wasn't much for him to betray T'Challa and align himself with Killmonger.
I get the dislike (what he did wasn't right), but some people seem really intense about it. If characters like Namor and Killmonger are considered redeemable, why can't W'Kabi? (They all have their tragic backstories that explain their actions.) Fandomwise, he doesn't even really get in the way of Attoye since he was pretty much a nonfactor in the second movie.
And I know I'm guilty of writing this in fanfic, but it doesn't look like his betrayal had any real blowback on Okoye (other than emotionally, which yes is a biggie, and excluding Ramonda's tirade but that was more grief than anything else) since, in the Daughter of the Border deleted scene, it was said to her that, "no one has more support among the people than you," and her uncle wanted her to make a play for the throne.
I really wish all those deleted scenes (except maybe the Ross one cause I don't care about him) had been included in the movie, but that's another conversation.
So I watched Black Panther again and it confirmed what I already knew.
W’kabi. Ain’t. Shit.

UNPOPULAR HELLUVA BOSS OPINION
I actually think Stolas calling Blitzø “Blitz” and not “Blitzy” is positive character development- HEAR ME OUT
I’m a linguist. So when I think about the addition of the -y on his name, that is known as an English diminutive, which is an affix added to a word to make the it smaller / cuter. Some examples of this are: Dog -> doggy, Cat/Kit -> Kitty, etc.
This is how we got a lot of English words like “tiny” “teensy” “baby” “stubby” “mini” “itty bitty” and more because that -y (or the -y sound) at the end indicates smallness.
When considering the political context of Helluva Boss, adding the -y to Blitz name could be seen as degrading, or emphasizing his smaller place in the world. Especially when it accompanies other nicknames that Stolas uses in season 1 like “little ones” “impish little plaything” “itty bitty imp” to refer to Blitzo and other imps. It’s like he’s constantly reminding Blitz of how small he is.
So from Blitz perspective, he could see this nickname reminding him of his “place in the world” which, in the context of the show, is “inferior.” And each time Stolas uses “Blitzy” it feels degrading and belittling.
Especially when Blitzo works so hard to fight against that box that Hell places him in. In the Harvest Moon episode, Striker tells him how it’s impressive that he started his own business, because not many Imps do that.
So these nicknames and this attitude from Stolas might also indicate him not taking Blitzo and his business seriously. His business is something we know Blitzo values above most things.
Which is why I think Blitzo hates it so much.
And thus I like when Stolas uses “Blitz” instead- I feel, from Blitzo’s perspective, it more respectful. Using his name makes it seem like Stolas really does view them as equals.
But that’s just a theory-
A helluva theory
