The respect I have for people who have actually been able to read The Odyssey and The Iliad is insane.

I was at the bookstore today buying the newest pjo book and I went to the classics section like “hm maybe I can buy The Iliad and The Odyssey so I can finally read them instead of getting all my information on the plot from video summaries, spark notes, and tumblr” then I grabbed both of them and decided to yk sift through to see if I could actually even read it. I in fact, could NOT read those things. Like the style of English and speaking hurt my brain, I thought the spark notes summaries were brain melting but oh lord the book itself hurt more.

So yeah I did not buy either one and only both wrath of the triple goddess lmao, but I did leave with a lot of respect for the people who have been able to actually read the book because I just can’t

But also if anyone has like a translation of either one that’s easier to read please do recommend and I’ll see if I can get it because I would really like to actually have a copy I can refer to when I need it (a copy I can actually understand that is)

I’m going to assume the reason has to do with Shadow Milk not yet doing as much damage to PV like what the other two did to their Ancients? Though Shadow Milk did still commit crimes and evil, I just don’t remember the specifics since that was like, January. Outside of mind controlling the Faeries and probably getting a number of them killed, trying to mentally manipulate Pure Vanilla into cutting down the tree (or something, I don’t entirely remember what else), trying to kill Pure Vanilla and three children by the end, and being the one who caused the first major character permadeath in CRK history. And we haven’t even gotten to his story yet, that was just his intro. But he’s silly, so he gets a pass I guess?

I don’t know, I personally don’t get why shadowvanilla has so many fans by comparison to the other Beast/Ancient ships

the thing about hoffstrahm is i don’t think they grow old together and die of old age. i think they spend like five to ten years on the run and its the most alive strahm has ever felt and the most content hoffman has ever been. and after all those years they get sloppy. they fuck up, somehow, and they get found out. and maybe it was strahm who fucked up and maybe he kind of did it on purpose, but he doesn’t want to think about why. either way, they both know they’re about to get caught. hoffman is panicking and strahm is so torn between feeling guilty and relieved. tensions high, they get into an argument over something so insignificant but they still fight like wild animals. and that’s how it ends; they tear each other to shreds, clawing and biting at each other’s skin, trying to break anything capable of being broken. and when they’re found they’re lying on the floor embracing one another .
