I’m not even a Megastar guy but TF One Starscream and Megatron are SO interesting to me because we’re seeing the beginnings of so much toxicity. The potential there is sooo much to think about.

Like yes, we have Starscream, who is being an absolute freak about D’s strength. He loves it, begs for more, but not because he likes the pain (though if you interpret it that way I get it) it’s because he sees someone with the same rage that has been festering among the high guard for cycles. There’s potential there. D, on the other hand, is letting out the rage he has against authority on the first bot he can. Starscream isn’t really a person to him here. He’s a vessel to let his anger out on. When he beats Screamer enough, Starscream’s expression turns to actual fear.

Starscream sees Megatron as someone strong and capable, but knowing Starscream, he will probably try to undermine his authority everywhere he can. Not just because it’s . Well, it’s Starscream, but because Megatron took away the power he had. I’m curious how this version of Megatron would respond to an attempt from Starscream to take power back. From what we’ve seen from this Megatron it will NOT be pretty.

This is just word salad but in other words I’m thinking about them not as a romantic ship, but as a relationship that is only going to spiral into something worse and worse.

as someone who’s never liked timsteph i find it so funny that i just accidentally talked myself into a revrob au of them. revrob au where war games happens, steph (~15) gets captured & tortured, except this time tim (~16) comes in to try & help but due to [unforeseen circumstances] no one comes as backup, and they’re both tortured, leading to steph’s red hood era via being resurrected somehow by arthur brown and tim’s oracle era brought on via complications due to torture.

tim’s the one person steph won’t target, and steph’s the one person tim can’t really get angry with about killing, because they get it.

Crossmare's dynamic is so interesting to me, because I can either play it as them being equally manipulative to each other-

Nightmare because it's all he's really known and he's good as hell at it, and Cross because he will never feel safe somewhere again and has to play the cards that he got. Cross whispering ideas into his king's head, influencing his moves and using Nm’s desire for Dream's destruction as a motivator. Nightmare using Cross' desire to be used and useful, and using that to feel useful and 'loved' himself. Both harmfully dependent of each other, and utterly devoted to the other in a very non healthy way. They would eventually burn each other ragged with their demands, tire each other out about Dream and the star sanses- about their control over the other. Completely screwed and tired of everything. Nm would make the truce, lose his dignity, and Cross would lose his purpose. I just like to think they would hate each other while also understanding each other while also also also loving each other horribly

Another dynamic I like is them just being more private and 'shy' about their relationship. Not necessarily keeping it a secret, but also it just not being public-public. Exchanging glances in passing, Nm's tentacles favouring Cross. Everyone can tell they're gay asf for each other, but it's kinda sweet to see and let them be

They're just stupid and evil and in love. A secret dynamic is overall more of a favourite of mine, but making them toxic and hatefully in love with each other is just fun

The more of episode 1 of CoS I watch, the less I’m convinced that Shepherd was supposed to have religious trauma. I know it’s still very early on and I imagine it’s going to be covered at some point, but also, like…Shepherd basically went “huh maybe I SHOULD join your cult” after watching Sarnax obliterate those wraiths.

I’m going to assume the reason has to do with Shadow Milk not yet doing as much damage to PV like what the other two did to their Ancients? Though Shadow Milk did still commit crimes and evil, I just don’t remember the specifics since that was like, January. Outside of mind controlling the Faeries and probably getting a number of them killed, trying to mentally manipulate Pure Vanilla into cutting down the tree (or something, I don’t entirely remember what else), trying to kill Pure Vanilla and three children by the end, and being the one who caused the first major character permadeath in CRK history. And we haven’t even gotten to his story yet, that was just his intro. But he’s silly, so he gets a pass I guess?

I don’t know, I personally don’t get why shadowvanilla has so many fans by comparison to the other Beast/Ancient ships

Brainstorming a post canon story where Lucanis is adjusting to life as the first Talon under Caterina’s watchful eye and juggling that with his and Rook’s relationship. Thinking Caterina will be a hardass as usual and criticizing most things Rook does (works with a De Riva but might be even more fitting with a Rook unfamiliar with the politics of the Crows) while Rook is trying Very Hard to earn her approval for Lu’s sake because despite his tense relationship with his grandmother she is important to him.

Culminates in Caterina speaking with Rook alone one night and out of nowhere Caterina swipes their cheek with her cane, leaving a very precise but shallow cut. She tells Rook that had it been an attack from an assassin truly meaning to take their life they would already be dead, and that being the lover of the First Talon requires someone vigilant and able to care for themselves.

Lu returns to their room that night (stressed as he normally is these days) and Rook tries to keep that side of their face angled away from him but Spite catches the scent of dried blood and tips him off. He’s worried and furious of course, but Rook is reluctant to tell him who did it and when they finally do Lu goes to storm out and confront Caterina. Rook stops him and asks if it’s him or Spite and Lu is a little taken aback and hurt that Rook assumes that because it is Caterina who did this he would somehow be less willing to react. He swears that Rook is family, and if Illario is not exempt from consequences for harming family Caterina is at least going to get an earful. Rook apologizes for assuming he wouldn’t stand up for them against his grandmother, and for treating Spite as a rabid animal with no self control. Cue sweet moment with hugs from both arms and wings.

Lu takes a moment to clean the wound up gently, also collecting his thoughts and calming himself down. Rook realizes somewhere in the middle of this that the clever old hag had meant for this all along. Harm Rook superficially after weeks of building tension -> get Lucanis mad enough to confront her in a blind rage -> pontificate on lessons about allowing judgment to be blinded when it comes to Rook. It was a test to see if he would charge in blindly to defend their honor or if he would take a moment to think and plan. He had almost failed, and would have if not for Rook.

He isn’t thrilled that it makes some sort of sense, but she is a 70-something year old assassin who was First Talon until recently so she obviously knows her shit. He approaches her later and insists that both he and Rook had heard her loud and clear, but any further lessons or advice for him will be delivered via verbal communication and counsel. Caterina agrees, looking as proud as a stoic old bat can. She may not be happy with the tone that he takes but something can be said about the fact that he is willing to take it with her after all this time.

She explains that it is crucial that if he as First Talon is to take a lover he must accept that he will not always be able to protect them from the dangers this life entails. They must be able to defend themselves against all threats, but even more important is that if something should happen to them, Lucanis will keep a level head. His enemies will expect him to be blinded by grief and rage, sloppy and prone to leaving himself unguarded. A true First Talon will keep his head about him and make his enemies suffer. A true First Talon will honor a loved one’s memory with the blood of their enemies, not by falling on a sword in their name.

i think everyone on the tgf tag is far too normal in the sense that there’s not enough freaky shit going on in any fan content. why am i the only one in the world to consider a blatantly toxic, codependent, all-consuming psychosexual friendship/brotherhood/romantic relationship between these two people that obviously fit into this category. they would not get married they would not be boyfriends but i think they would accidentally tear each other to pieces in trying to unravel how complicated and unspeakable their connection is. let them be taken over by their fucked up beyond repair animal nature and let that seep into their bond. let them be parallel and intersecting at the same time. let them be unable to separate themselves, not knowing where the influence of the other ends and the essence of the original starts. let them hate themselves for it. we can uplift toxic yaoi in 2024 believe me
