hearing about gale from tara is always such a treat because she's known him for so, so long, ever since he was just a boy and has watched him grow into who he is now:

she's absolutely not averse to teasing him. however, it's never cruel and always light-hearted, just like she's not afraid to call him out on evading questions or making him reflect on the choices he takes if she does disagree with him. it really speaks of how long they have been at each other's side.

Tara the Tressym: Mr Dekarios. Gale. You are the finest mind - the finest wizard - I have ever had the pleasure to know. If anyone can beat this thing, it is you. When you tried to control the Weave - when it all went, pardon my language, belly up - I was terrified. Scared you'd be hurt. Scared Mystra would punish you for your transgression. so from tara's pov, gale's always been awkward and obvious with his emotions.

she's convinced he has a genuinely good heart, one that she hopes he'll stay true to.

tara thinks he's wise, and growing wiser (condition: gale rejects to take the crown for himself).

Tw: animal cruelty, animal deaths mention

Can we talk about how Larian put so much unnecessary animal cruelty in bg3? Like Yenna and Grub only exist to serve as a backup option for the Orin abduction, which involves Orin killing Grub and trick your character into eating his meat! 🤢 I was utterly disgusted when I encountered it and almost quit playing until I found a way to avoid this outcome in my first playthrough (I used no romance limit mod and romanced all of the possible companions that could be abducted therefore I needed to breakup with one of them and leave them in camp), it’s really triggering for me because I also have a cat and we live in a place where animal cruelty is not illegal and companion animals are not protected by law from being served as food, there are countless pet and stray cats and dogs got stolen and later found slaughtered in meat factories and made into off-brand sausages and meatballs, not to mention there are many torture rings that target cats in here and they’re openly taunting and threatening people who oppose them to kill more cats because they know they can get away with it, it’s every cat parent’s worst nightmare. We already get that Orin is this sadistic evil shapeshifter who tortured and killed people for fun, is it really necessary to show us that she’s indiscriminate to children and animal too for shock value??

And for Durge, Larian and the writer they hired from a fan discord server for writing ast*r**n fanfics really put extra effort into making more animal cruelty scenes into the storyline which I have to look into guides before I play durge’s origin to avoid them(a squirrel, a bird, a cat could fall into durge’s victim), making durge unnecessarily edgier when there’s tons of other stuff already shows his gory urges, while durge’s main story in act 3 has so much plot potential yet still feels underwhelming, underwritten and lacks companion reactions other than ast*r**n’s. Really shows their priority, huh? Isn’t these animal cruelty content avoidable? Sure, but you need the knowledge of how to avoid them first, the dialogue option that leads to killing Steelclaw the cat is something like “trying to remember why you know this cat” which is just like the one that leads to durge cut off Gale’s hand, these options doesn’t explicitly say you are going to choose violence, it’s very misleading almost tempt you to choose them. There should be explicit indications of these outcomes in the dialogue options. And that squirrel encounter, durge just automatically kills them if you don’t have speak with animals on. Players that go into the game blind are going to have these triggering content shoved into their faces. But I guess Larian just doesn’t care.

She loved the colourful ones with animals on them, but Christina, of course, always used the ugly ones with no design, and whenever it happened, sam replaced them with the cute ones with animals.

I will forever be fucking PISSED at Larian for not adding Tara to camp. At least add her after we meet her in act 3. Like I'm sorry, if we can have Shart's parents hang out for the entirety of the act, we can have Tara.

The real reason I want this is because I need to have her cunty little ass react to a Gale romance. My cat gets angy and will smack my fiancé if he's snuggling with me on the couch at night because that's HER spot. I'm just imagining Tara being like "oh finally, I get to cuddle my boy" only to find out Tav has been sharing a tent with Gale. "Excuse me, that's my fucking spot."

Sometimes I think about how long Tara would be reserved towards the Tav and how she wouldn't purr like a normal cat once even at the stage where Tav was allowed to touch/pet her but I imagine when she would slowly fall asleep and let out a little purr unconsciously and Tav would LOSE it and do a silence victory shout to the skies

Tara has a nightmare and for the first time, she’s seeking comfort from Sam…how does it go?

Tara's no stranger to bad dreams. Good nights were ones she didn't dream at all, good dreams were much rarer. Until she came to live with Sam. Things changed then, in a lot of ways. In ways Tara never imagined her life would ever go.

But there were still bad days, and bad nights, and bad dreams.

One night, Tara experiences a new first. She's experienced a lot of firsts since meeting Sam. She didn't like this one. For the first time, Tara doesn't dream of herself. She dreams of Sam. Sam's in Tara's bedroom, on Tara's bed, back in the house she grew up in. Her mother is banging on the door, screaming, and Sam looks so much smaller than she is supposed to be, Tara thinks. Then her mother is in the room and she's grabbing Sam and- and the smack of her mother's fist hitting skin has Tara blinking awake.

She lies there, still, peering out into the darkness and holding her breath. Waiting for the sound of her mother to remember she exists, to start battering the bedroom door. Instead, she hears a snore from above, and the rustling of sheets, and she remembers. She's not there anymore, she's nestled in a soft blanket beneath Sam's bed and Sam isn't her mother.

But there's this heaviness inside her stomach that just won't go away. Tara feels anxious. Sam should be under the bed with her, where it's safe, not all out in the open up there. What if someone comes looking for her? Tara finds herself crawling out from under the bed, overcome with the need to make sure Sam's ok.

Sam's on her stomach, arms curled around a pillow, fast asleep. She looks so vulnerable, and it makes Tara frown. What if someone came in? How is she going to protect herself if she's on her stomach? She won't be able to move fast enough.

Tara crawls onto the bed, curling up by Sam's feet, facing the door. It feels right, being here. She can watch Sam's back this way, make sure no danger gets in unseen. Tara won't let anyone hurt Sam, just like she's leaning Sam isn't going to let anyone hurt her either. It's nice to not be alone anymore.
