Tell me about the Bailey and Ver Pokemon AU!What kinds of trainers are they? What made them choose the type preferences and teams that they did? Do their Pokemon have nicknames?
I made their teams with the idea of them being gym leaders in mind
I remember vaguely hearing something about generally people don’t actually have a full team of Pokemon unless theyre either a trainer battling the gyms or a gym leader (or something to that extent) so that’s what I went for, mostly
Bailey’s team was originally all going to be ghost type Pokemon! But there weren’t enough ghost pokemon that I liked for him so he’s ended up with a mix of ghost and dark types
Bailey sorta suits the ghost type aesthetic anyway so I figured I’d lean into a lil bit!! That and he has a small interest in ghosts/the paranormal in his regular version
Veronica got fairy type! She’s definitely suited for fairy type pokemon anyway, like if she was building her own team she would absolutely pick fairy
But also! She gets to dress in sylveon colours which is very gender of her
Bailey is more of the strategy type, he definitely looks into move sets and setting up strategy like some hardcore competitive players do
Veronica is on the other end of the scale where if she just hits her opponent hard enough they pass out first and she wins, who needs setup moves or stat boosts, those are for cowards
I’d say individually they’re good trainers! They definitely both love their pokemon a lot
They also definitely got their eevees at the same time!
And they got their gengar and clefable to sorta parallel each other since a lot of people associate them together
Bailey got his absol for a very *specific* reason and it’s probably the pokemon he has out with him the most often because he feels the most safe when its around
Also they absolutely both nickname their pokemon and Veronica is 100% the type to dress up her silly lil guys in all the accessories she can manage
They’re both relatively strong trainers I’d say (not that I know jack shit about team building. I’m on Veronica’s team personally) but I definitely wouldn’t put them in such as like. The elite four.
Bailey’s flaw as a trainer is probably over planning whereas Ver’s is not planning at all
The main issue with Bailey is that if his plan starts to fail he doesn’t really have a backup
And Ver’s direct opposite is she struggles against opponents who take the time to set up certain stat boosts n such
If I’d designed them to be regular trainers rather than gym leaders I’d downsize their team to maybe half
Bailey would keep Absol, Gengar and Umbreon. Veronica would keep Tinkaton, Clefable and Sylveon
And if I had the energy I’d definitely design all their pokemon individually and give em all funny nicknames and accessories
They’re probably also just as competitive in the pokemon universe as they are their regular one
Neither can turn down a challenge

hi eevee!! the recent news on ytr Shins execution has me Devastated. (esp bc Kannas death is my favorite and im very normal about greenblings LMAOO) but that got me thinking about the other executions in ytr! if you'd like to, what are some of the other executions/deaths?? don't gotta reveal all of em yet, just wanted to ask haha :) take care!
HI BREAD i am so sorry about the shin execution thing. i saw the opportunity to do the funniest (most agonizing) thing ever and i had to.
the thing that really gets me about it is like. in ytr shin never gets his collar off at that last moment, he has no chance of really escaping, but he’s still trying to run WHILE HIS BODY IS BEING ROOTED TO THE GROUND and he still manages to even set up the sara ai. he still doesnt accept his fate right up until the very end. And That Makes Me So Sad
buuuuut you probably wanna hear about some of the other devastating deaths! which i am also happy to provide deets on ^^
(WARNING: LONG LONG POST BELOW i am so sorry)
ok im gonna be honest i havent focused super hard on the deaths themselves because it’s always more interesting to me to focus on the aftermath i think…but there are some ive thought about more than others so i’ll go over those!
• nao
this one is Hectic. I wanted it to be kind of a mix of mishima’s death and nao’s canon death, so her collar device is sort of like…magnetic? basically, it pulls her to the wall and starts crushing her neck. i feel like this adds a greater sense of panic to the scene, because unlike mishima’s collar which they can’t touch when it burns, in ytr both kugie and mishima are trying to help nao :,) (spoiler alert they cannot)
• sara
oh this one makes me So sad….it’s fundamentally the same premise as joe’s execution with the wrigglers, but the difference is that ryoko is actually fast enough with the clicker to get them off (it’s always so funny to me that one of the canon things we know about ryoko is she’s good at arcade games. so i imagine she has fast fingers 💀). but at that point it’s already too late because sara has lost too much blood, so she just ends up bleeding out in ryoko’s arms instead. fun fact: because of that, ryoko’s hallucination of sara always comes out of the ground in a pool of blood :,)
• sei
ok i haven’t SUPER worked out the specifics of this one but i do know the general vibes for it so i’m putting it anyways. basically, when sei gets voted for, much like what happened in the assassin game in canon they ask kai to kill them. because they don’t want to be alone as they die and also it’d be a big middle finger to asunaro. kai has the kitchen knife. he could do it. but he literally just can’t bring himself to. if it was himself he could do it, but he can’t bring himself to hurt sei. so instead he just has to watch them die without doing a thing and it ends up haunting him. (i have this vivid image of kai literally having to be dragged away from sei’s corpse :((((((((( )
• sou
ok here’s the big one. sou is my fave bleeby blorbo so you KNOW i’ve put a shit-ton of thought into this one. the funniest thing about this to me is that. sou put his collar on himself at the beginning of the death game. and so when hayasaka is like “sorry :( we’ll have to execute you” sou is like “nuh uh” and literally just takes it back off. THERE IS JUST THIS MOMENT OF. AWKWARD SILENCE ACROSS THE ENTIRE ROOM. hayasaka is like “holy shit what do i do now” but he doesn’t have to do any work because sou ends up dooming himself 👍
he figures. okay well i have to do something quick or people from the upper floors are actually gonna come start trying to kill me. unlike shin, he doesn’t really have any intention of ‘escaping,’ at least not in a direct manner, but what he does try to do is get to the fifth floor where his lab is to see if he can deactivate the collars. because essentially, that’ll take the target off his back at least temporarily— what’s one guy running around without a collar to SEVEN people running around without a collar? asunaro cant execute everyone if they want the death game to continue, right? he knows the facility, so he’s actually able to dodge/avoid the ‘weapons’ really well. atp the other participants are running after him watching him bolt across the third floor and straight up rooting for him. he gets really close to the winner’s stairs (and if he can get there, he’s home free because they connect to all the other floors) and because of that he gets a little tooooooo cocky.
if he can actually accomplish what he’s trying to do, asunaro could literally fall apart from the inside out. if they don’t have control over the participants w/ the collars, the main cast could quite literally stage a mini uprising. sou could finally have the chance to be free from asunaro, to be free from his mother, to live his life how *he* wants to— he’s so close.
so anyways, sou looks back at shin. because of course he does.
and what is he rewarded with? impalement! ^_^ no seriously, at the last moment he steps on a trap that impales him. YES i wanted to harken back to the fake death alice caused in actual yttd. so yeah he uh. does not make it out of that one alive. sorry sou!
(i could talk about how this firmly cements in shin that his mindset of the strong persevering over the weak is correct, because he was the one to pass the role of ‘shin tsukimi’ over to sou, to pass the role of being ‘weak’ to him, and in sou’s last moments that weakness (in this case, caring too deeply for shin) ends up being his undoing. but we’ll save that for another day!)
• mishima
so mishima’s is actually relatively the same as q-taro’s canon death, because tbh i couldn’t figure out a way to make it any different without completely screwing up the banquet. sorry mimimishima :((
the thing that really gets me about this one is the REVEAL though. atp kugie and mishima have built up a strong relationship throughout the death game, and so the fact that mishima’s sacrifice essentially ends up saving kugie’s life is weirdly poetic to me. it is NOT poetic to kugie though. she is so upset that people keep sacrificing themselves for her sake (since yknow. she experienced this first with kanna) when she’s been trying to protect others this whole time. it’s just. agh. really sad.
i haven’t really thought as much about maple’s hinako’s and ranmaru’s sorry,,,, again i thought more of the surrounding circumstances for those ones (other people’s reactions to their deaths so. yknow yknow) but i’ll try to think more on em in the meantime!
I am SO sorry for this post it was SUPER long and SUPER sad. like *I* am sad now and I’m the one who decided what happens. Sorry bread 😭

For the Pokeomens!! Eevee?
Based heavily on animal omen symbolism, PokeOmens are descriptions of the meanings behind an appearance or presence of a Pokemon during the course of your life. This could be interpreted in any way the Pokemon reveals itself to you: through your games, plushies, unwrapping cards, dreams, or even if you keep seeing a Pokemon over and over while scrolling your favorite social media. It could even be linked to a Pokemon you feel a deep connection to. There is no limit to the ways that these interpretations can be applied, and each interpretation has been well-researched and constructed as a guide for your personal symbolism journey.#133: Eevee   Eevee represents a masculine energy of opportunity, change, and influence. To have an Eevee appear before you indicates that you will suddenly have many options opening up to you. Eevee symbolizes the influence that others may have on you and that you have on others. You might be someone who radically adapts to others or you may be someone who brings an abundance of inspiration and creativity to those around you.
Eevee’s two colors are brown and white. Brown symbolizes the genuine desire to rid yourself of negative situations and energy, as well as optimism and enthusiasm to rid yourself of problems. White symbolizes purification of negativity from your life and positive change. Along with Eevee’s normal-typing, an Eevee holds the message that you are in the beginning processes of positive change brought upon by outside influences and environmental changes.
Eevee’s origins are based in popular mammals such as foxes, dogs, and cats. Foxes represent the ability to solve a problem within your life and adjustment to a new situation, dogs represent kindness and gentleness to those around you, and cats represent communication to those around you. Overall, Eevee symbolizes maintaining a positive relationship with the people you connect with and with the environments you come into contact with. The best results come from the positive changes in your life.
Finally, Eevee symbolizes the unknown outcomes that come with the changes you embrace. There are many forms of yourself that you may become but it’s how you adapt and accept the new environments and situations in your life that will bring about a true transformation within yourself. And the final product of the transformation cannot always be fully predicted despite all of the factors involved in your change.

Week One: Mystery
Summary: This story takes place in the Mystery Dungeon AU I’ve been working on for a while and hold dear to my heart.  For this first, it takes place in the Mystery Dungeon AU where everyone is a pokemon. Stan and Ford are Alolan and Kantoian Meowth's respectively and their parents Filbrick and Caryn are a Perserker and Kantoian Persian, and Shermie is a Perserker. How I interpret it as what kind of pokemon they are is determined by genetics and not by game mechanics. Depending on a pokemon's ancestry can determine what pokemon will be born. Other characters such as my ocs Andrea Pereira and Lucina Evergreen are here, too, and they are an Eevee and Shiny Kanotian Vulpixen respectively. Hope this explains things and enjoy this for Week One of @stanuary and onwards! Chapter 1 is here on AO3, too.
Team Mystery
Stan, a young Alolan Meowth, awoke early in the morning and would nudge his twin to wake from his sleep, eager to get up and go for this particular day. The day they start a new adventure.
“Sixer, wake up!” the young Alolan Meowth urged his Kantoian counterpart.
“Mrow!” Ford yowled. “What, Stanley?” He rubbed his tired eyes with a six-toed paw.
“Today’s the day we’re gonna start our explorers team! Team Mystery!” Despite knowing him and his brother aren’t old enough to become a professional, recognized adventure team by the Explorer’s Guild standard’s, yet, that wasn’t going to stop Stan and his brother from getting a start at it. Ford’s lips formed a bright smile as he put on his glasses and leaped down from his bed. Stan hoped one day to meet the founder and leader himself to work with. Stan pulls out the carrying case from under the bed that contains the items they think they’ll need for this adventure they have planned. Once they find something to do, that is.
The two have their breakfast and leave a note for their parents to find, taking some berries and other food for later before heading out the door and outside into the streets. The beach town was bustling with pokemon going about their own business, most of them being water types given the town is by the ocean on the east coast.
Stan and Ford were making their way to the local bulletin board just outside of the Peliper Postal Office when a thought occurred with Stan.
“Oh wait! We forgot to invite Andy and Lucy!” Stan just remembered their Eevee and Shiny Vulpix friends who make their team complete. Stan was over the moon when the girls accepted his and Ford’s offer to become part of their unofficial team. And since it was summer, Lucy would be around for their summer adventures. He’d hate to leave the two out of their adventures in exploring, rescuing and seeking out treasure.
Thankfully, Ford seemed to find the two ahead of them when he pointed at them.
“Seems like they got a head start.” Stan and Ford go up to the two who were looking at the bulletin board, scanning for the tasks they’re able to do and succeed in. Each job ranked from letters E to S, S being the highest and way beyond what the four are capable of.
“Hey, girls!” Stan greeted.
“Stan! Ford!” Andrea greeted the two meowths, her tail wagging in eagerness. “Me and Lucy managed to get here first! Think we can solve some mysteries around here.” Lucy pointing at the jobs listed. This piques the twin’s interests as they scan the board and see which ones seem more interesting and can get them more rewards. Stan slapped at the C level job that’s within their area.
“We can do this one!” Stan pulled the entry down that reads: ‘ Can someone find my basket? I lost it somewhere in Question Mark Cove. Will reward 400 coins. ’ Ford gave an affirming nod.
“Question Mark Cove? I think we can manage a trip there. I believe it's only ten levels down.”
“Perfect! We find this basket and get my – I mean our money. Split it evenly.” Andrea giggled, figuring Stan may take more of the share. Lucina rolled her eyes, but she was looking forward to exploring a cove.
“Ascot, look what we have here!” directed a Minun named Dicky to his Plusle brother as they approached the board. “New jobs! And a couple of wannabe adventurers who don’t even have official badges!” The Sibling brothers were still sore about how Stan and Ford and Andrea got the better of them last summer.
“Hey! We’ll get ours one day.” pouted Andrea.
“Yeah, go get your own jobs and shove off, sparkplugs.” Stan stuck his tongue out and pulled down his lower eyelid to mock them. The Sibling Brothers look at the group and let out a haughty laugh.
“Oh, we will. We’re going for something more… rewarding.” Dicky would leap up the bulletin board and retrieve a wanted poster of a criminal pokemon that appears to be a rough-looking Carrascosta. Ascot finished.
“Such as apprehending a criminal and collecting the bounty in Question Mark Cove.” The two leave laughing at the four dumbstruck pokemon behind to go off to fulfill the job. Stan was fuming as he couldn’t let this slide. He wasn’t going to let those jerks discourage him, his brother and friends.
“How ‘bout we go get that basket and get that bounty.” Ford, Lucina and Andrea gasped.
“Wait, what? We can’t do that. It’s something adults do, not us kids.” Lucina reasoned, scared about confronting a bigger and stronger pokemon they’re not prepared to face.
“Those two have no idea what they’re up against.” Ford watched the twins go towards the cove. They too were children as well. Stan mustered up the confidence to give the three and himself the morale they needed.
“Come on! With the four of us working together and using our moves, there’s nothing we can’t do. We’ll face whatever is down there and come back here to complete the job!” The three young pokemon looked between each other and smiled at Stan.
“We can give it a shot.” Ford approved, having a backup plan should things go south in having packed an escape orb.
Later down the Question Mark Cove…
The four pokemon managed to handle themselves against the opposing pokemon in the cove during their escapade down into the levels. They even managed to find the missing basket intact. However, they hadn’t seen the Sibling brothers since entering inside. Which Ford would point out.
“Do you think they’re in trouble? Wouldn’t hurt to check.”
“If the criminal got them, good riddance.” dismissed Stan. Something Lucina didn’t like.
“It would be wrong to just leave them alone down here to die.” Andrea sighed, seeing her friend speak true.
“Yeah, even if they are stupid jerks, they’re still kids like us.”
“Fine, let’s go find them.”
The four proceed down into the tenth and final floor of the cove and find what looks to be a makeshift hideout, no doubt belonging to the criminal, but no sign of the Sibling brothers. Stan and Ford call out for them.
“Hey! Dick and Asshole! Call out if you hear us!” Andrea giggled in response to Stan swearing.
“Did you catch the crook?”
They hear nothing for a second under loud, thundering footprints could be heard. It was the wanted Carracosta that goes by the name Crush the Undertow. His shell and maw riddled with visible scars from previous confrontations. He let out an uproar of laughter.
“Ye friends yer lookin’ fer are here no longer!” Crush lumbered over. “They turned their tails and ran off in fear of I, Crush the Undertow!” Stan and Ford growled, figuring the brothers would do something like this.
“Well we’re going to beat you ourselves!” challenged Stan and unsheathed his claws.
“Yeah, we’re not scared of you!” Andrea braced herself and her fur bristled. Ford and Lucina preparing for a fight.
Crush slapped his hard chest and bellowed.
“Then have at the, children! Give me a challenge! ”
It would be a challenging battle for the four young pokemon. Crush wasn’t holding back against the four, using his rock and water moves to get the upper hand. Stan, Ford, Lucina and Andrea have to act quick to try to dodge the attacks, and give it their all in turn. Ford didn’t have enough left to use against Crush, having used much of what they had and found throughout the cove. Ford could see they’re no match for this beast of a pokemon. Lucina having gotten knocked out upon getting hit against the wall, and Andrea getting her out to safety.
“We have to retreat!”
Crush targeted Ford and taunted.
“Ye not gonna run away like cowards are ye?!” Crush opened his mouth and released a high pressure amount of water at Ford. Stan would bound and leap to use his claws to deliver a strong swipe of his claws, aiming for the mouth and was successful, leading Crush to be off his aim. But it left Stan open to be attacked by Crush using his flipper to slam Stan against the wall and pin him there.
“Ya nicked me good, boy, but this ends now.”
Ford brought out the blast seed to use as a last resort to eat it, and unleashed a strong enough force to hit Crush and knock him down, releasing the injured Stan. Ford rushed over to help Stan up and give him an oran berry.
“Come on, Stan, get up.” Stan chewed and swallowed the rejuvenating berry that helped a little. “We need to go help the girls and tell the Magezone Chief about this.” Stan nodded at his brother, a lot ringing in his mind and thinking this could have gone better.
They hear steps coming towards them and it was none other than the Sibling Brothers, never having left. The plusle and minun clapping their paws.
“Well done!”
“Yes, very good! You defeated the crook in our place.” Stan and Ford glared at the two.
“You… you cowards! You got us to fight your battle so you can claim credit! You two could have taken him down with being electric types.” Dickie and Ascot would scoff, not having shame in it.
“And you did a fine job.”
“Saved us the trouble without using up our own resources to do it. Let us offer a deal.” Ascot presents. “You let us have this and we’ll put in a good word to have you and your team become a recognized rescue team with badges and everything from the Explorer’s Guild.”
“That is not what being an explorer is about, Sibling Brothers.” A strong voice spoke from behind them. The four boys turned to see a stoic Lucario and two of his teammates, a Pidgeot and Blissey, tending to Andrea and Lucina’s injuries. They heard everything admitted. “I’m immensely disappointed in you two for using others to fight your battles and perform your tasks, taking credit for their efforts while you’ve done none.” The plusle and minun cowered, fearing the worst was going to happen. And it does. “As the leader and founder of the Explorer’s Guild, I hereby strip you of your rank and badges, banished from the Explorer’s Guild henceforth.” He reached and opened his paw to take the badges away. Reluctantly, Dicky and Ascot relinquished their badges and carrying case and took a walk of shame out of the cove.
Stan and Ford were astonished by what just happened. The founder and leader himself, Ryland, along with his team to rescue them. Stan was relieved to see things were going to be okay, but feels guilty he got the girls and his brother into this mess.
Ryland turned to Stan and Ford. “We’ll take care of this, you and your friends need to be treated.” Stan and Ford nodded up and took their leave to get treated by the Blissey named Belle.
“Your friends sent out an SOS and we were the first to receive it,” Belle smiled as she bandaged up Lucina. “Good thing we did. You four were very brave.” Hearing that made Stan feel a bit better, but he felt guilt over endangering his brother and friends.
“I’m sorry, guys, we should have retreated sooner,” Stan lowered his head. Ford, Andrea and Lucina showed weak smiles.
“Don’t be down, Stan, things got messy and we turned out alive,” reassured Andrea. “And we found the basket to take back to the client looking for it.” The pidgeot named Soarin would offer.
“If I may, I can help deliver it swiftly and without delay. I assure you that I will give you four full credit for your efforts. What should I call your group?”
“Team Mystery,” the four young pokemon agreed.
The next day…
Stan and Ford are called from downstairs by their mom as they got a letter.
“Hey, boys! You have mail!” Their mother Caryn the Kantoian Persian smiled. “And from the Explorer’s Guild no less.”
“Wait, what?” Stan and Ford questioned. The two read the letter, and from what they determined, they are offered to join the Explorer’s Guild. In addition, some of the reward money that came from not only returning the basket to the client looking for it, but part of the bounty from apprehending the criminal carracosta. Stan couldn’t believe it. His dream was coming true.
“We can be official explorers! Badges and everything!” Stan beamed ear to ear. Ford liked the sound of that. “Team Mystery is in business!”
“I like the sound of that, Stan, but let’s stick with what we can handle before we aim for higher jobs.”
“It’s a deal, Sixer.” It was the beginning of a new adventure.

Where they take you on vacation - 7 Brothers + Diavolo
Found out the edits are made by @devilgram who has such a beautiful blog and posts so many Obey Me! things that are so cool! You did a great job with all the edits! <3
Tumblr media
LUCIFER
Lucifer would like to take you to Romania, mostly because of all the stories of the great Wallachian ruler Vlad Tepes/The Impaler and wants to find out more about his ruthless yet effective methods of insuring no crime happens in his country ( and hopes they will work on his brothers too ).
Apart from the gorgeous landscapes from the mountainside, the possibility to go to the seaside, or see the different types of regional architecture ( like the unique Black Church ) from different cities, he’d also like to get a full experience of the language, the music, the traditions ( customs, clothes, foo ) and feel for a day like a native from the old ages.
Even more, he’d find it very nice if you were to try out one of the traditional outfits, and would take a picture of you at the mountains, on a nice field, and put the developed picture in his coat, looking at it whenever he is working and misses you.
He can get pretty salty about the fact that there are still people who believe the Bran castle is Dracula’s true castle, instead of the Poienari fortress and wouldn’t hesitate to express his displeasure, but would appreciate the castle and everything displayed there nonetheless.
Also, would be the first to go to the Horror house, holding your hand if you get scared, and would feel incredibly proud that you trust him and feel safe around him, but would get such a kick out of using his demon form while at it, to scare the actors there.
His whole aesthetic draws people near as if they would actually approach a vampire royalty, which allows him to puff his chest out in pride, so hey, you’re dating a vampire now!
Would take you out at the fanciest restaurant, just to feel how the life at this place is.
Would love to take long walks on the beach at the sea, your feet in the water, holding hands, and just admiring the moon and stars while waves are your music.
You’d mostly stay silent and enjoy the atmosphere, but sometimes you talk a few words, and that’s when Lucifer is the most relaxed, calm and tender.
He would saying that he loves you with such ease for the first time in so long, and the kiss on your forehead would be so soft that it brings you more butterflies than any kiss ever could.
Lucifer looks so ethereal in the light of the moon, it’s almost like he’s glowing, and when you tell him, he’d actually blush softly, before chuckling and stroking your hair, not denying, nor agreeing with your statement.

Mammon
Mammon loves to spend money and grab it, so what better place than Las Vegas?
He’d love for the two of you to dress super fancy and flashy, in matching colours if possible, go gambling, scam people and experience the luxury night lifestyle, go to clubs, loud music and expensive alcohol and all that.
But Mammon isn’t all about the flashy and exciting night time, instead, he would mostly love to just see the world with you by his side, and his goals is to make you happy, to he does everything he can to go sightseeing with you and reads in advance about whatever places you could visit and tells you some fun trivia about the place, he’s treating you to the fanciest food and drink places, and would spoil you rotten when going shopping, loving to see you do a little catwalk for him every time you get out of the changing booth.
He’d definitely insist on buying super cute animal Pyjamas.
He’s a huuuuuge fan of the “His Queen/Her King” trope and loves showing you off as much as possible, so get matching Tshirts or jackets and he would be SOOO proud and would laugh confidently and proud all the time, his arm around you, saying how cool you two are together and all that.
He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he honestly doesn’t believe he’s good enough for you, but when he sees how your dazzling smile is always directed to him and you cling on his arm whenever you watch the Lights Show on the big buildings, see the beautiful fireworks or watch the impressive singing fountain...Well, he can’t help but blush and kiss your forehead, feeling butterflies in his stomach.
He’s the kind of guy who would spam his DevilGram with either couple pictures in different places you visit, or just cute pics of you or you two messing around, and his account is actually very popular for the #CoupleGoalz trend.
At night, he would like to either cuddle with you and watch a movie, or go drive through the city at night, watch the night lights, and go on a cliff, stargazing and chatting openly about everything, because honestly, this guy is always dismissed and insulted by his brothers, it’s always a relief and a fresh air when he can be himself and just...Talk with someone.

Leviathan
Levi is the biggest weeb in the world, so the first place you’d visit together is Japan.
Anime conventions, wearing cute kimonos while going to festivals or roaming the streets of Kyoto or Akihabara, couple cosplay (Henry and the Lord of Shadows), buying merch of your favourite anime/manga/game, going to Vocaloid concerts, buying the newest Ruri-chan figurines, trying out new video games that just came out and so on.
Actually wants to go to a Pokemon cafe and fangirls SO much about all the cute pokemon themes there.
He would get you all the cutest Pokemon plushies, especially if you’re not all that into Pokemon but want to share that interest with him, so expect a Skitty, Vulpix, Shaymin, Eevee and all its Eeveelutions, Milotic plushie, while he would already be collecting plushies for the rarest Pokemons, but he’s incredibly happy that you want to do this with him.
He also gets an Ekans just for the Lolz and let’s out his tail, mostly for troll purposes, but it makes you laugh and he could swear his heart stopped beating and his cheeks were redder than ever.
He secretly got you a maid outfit and would love to see you wearing it, but he’s too embarrassed to actually say.
He would blush SO much seeing you in a kimono with a nice hair pin and a fan, while going to see the Sakura trees blossoming and you look like the Sengoku type of heroines from the dating sims he plays so much (to get experience and not fuck up with you), but somehow, you’re so much beautiful than any CG he’s every seen, no matter how gorgeous the art is.
He would get lots of packs of Pocky and despite not saying it out loud, would put a pocky in his mouth and you’d get the hint and munch on the other end of the pocky, in the end kissing him softly.
Levi.exe stopped working.
He would love taking pics of you alone, because you’re so beautiful, and would edit them to look as ethereal as possible, if you want, to even have fantastic backgrounds, and would take pride in how popular your DevilGram/InstaGram is.
He also changed his Lockscreen to have you with your hand in a half-heart gesture, while yours has him with the other half, so whenever he looks at the clock, or sees a new notif, he sees you smiling, with a cute kitten filter.
His Wallpaper is the two of you kissing, edited with a few hearts, sparkles and a little “I love you” written in cursive in a corner (you edited the pic and suggested you both use it, but he denied, so you changed it yourself for him too, while he was busy gaming, and he liked it so much that he couldn’t change it back to Ruri-chan.)

Satan
Satan would choose England first for so many reasons!
He’s such a perfect gentleman and seeing everyone so polite and chivalrous there makes his heart bloom and would up his gentleman shills even more, wanting to impress you and make your heart skip with everything he does.
Loves to take you to different castles, see in real life everything he read in books and saw in movies or TV series, and he’s so mesmerised by the beauty of everything that he forgets he promised to be your guide, but his bright smile and the way his eyes sparkle in curiosity and glee make up for everything.
Besides, he’d definitely go back to you and explain in very precise detail the reason for his fangirling.
He’s a little nerd so bookstore dates are a huge YES, and more - CAT CAFES where you can read at your heart’s content. HUGE YES.
You’d both get our of there with tons of books that you will read together, cuddled up under the blankets while enjoying an aromatic tea that Satan prepared for you, together with some nice scones.
He’d want to go with you to Shakespeare’s grave, Dicken’s house, would like to see anything involving the Romantics and so on, since he’s in love with British literature.
Satan wants to go see the Harry Potter theme park so much, and would buy tons of merch for the two of you, and wants to go in full Hogwarts robes and wand with you.
Would take a gazillion pics of you together, that only you can see since it may ruin his reputation with his brothers for geeking out, but he’d love it if the universe was actually real.
He’d also take you to King’s Cross to take pic near the wall where you get to the 9 3/4 Platform.
And no trip to England could exist without a visit to Sherlock’s house, pretending to be detectives, and at Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum to admire all the figures and potentially take troll pics with them.

Asmodeus
Asmo wastes no time in taking you to Paris, of course!
And the first thing you do is have a coffee at the restaurant located on top of the Eiffel Tower.
He would, throughout all the trip, take tons of selfies EVERYWHERE, and aeshtetic pics of either you alone, him alone, or together.
He’s a Devilgram and Devilr celebrity, after all!
Loves going to all the little cafes and drink a hot beverage with you while looking and judging all the passer-bys, how they would never compare to how beautiful and fashionable you two are.
He takes you to the Versailles Palace while wearing the most glamorous outfits, and despite all the pics taken, he will tell you stories of when he visited the place long ago, and more, will tell you of the paintings displayed, since he’s rather knowledgeable.
Asmodeus will take you everywhere, but first, the Lafayette Galleries, all while streaming every second there, to shop everyone how amazing the place is.
Would pics the both of you sooo many pretty brand clothes, new skin care routine and make up products, that you almost wonder where he has all the money from, especially to pay someone to carry them back to your place.
Would take you to a lingerie shop where he’d make you try on all the cutest outfits and would buy them all, especially because he thinks they will make you more confident and wants to make sure you never thing bad of yourself, because if you’re dating him, then you’re obviously the most beautiful being he’s ever seen, inside and out. (he doesn’t count here, of course)
His wallpaper is a selfie of you two smiling and making a peace sign, from the top of the Eiffel Tower, seeing all Paris in the background, at evening, with the beautiful sky and the night lights all over.
Would take you on a cruise on Seine, serenading and drinking a glass of bubbly champagne, admiring all the buildings and the happy people sitting on the banks of the River, enjoying the scenery.
And of course, there’s no perfect trip to the City of  Love without some very tender and sensual love-making, with so many compliments, praises, soft touches and gentle kisses from Asmodeus, followed by a relaxing bath with milk, honey and rose petals, scented candles, bubbles and ambiental music, and of course, a lot of cuddling all night long.

Beelzebub
Beelzebub would want to go to Italy, since it’s the country with the best human food, and what better place to eat it them its home country?
Would actually love to go sightseeing with you and seeing all the pretty stuff there is.
He appreciates the architecture, statues and paintings of every historical place, loves to find out more about the country’s history and traditions and would like to take scenic pictures of all the places you visit...
And make a couple album where he puts pics with either you alone or together.
It’s his most treasured possession and nobody except Belphie knows about it, and while he is happy that his brother is happy, he would say it’s so cheesy.
Would have fun when doing the classic “Pushing the Pisa Tower” picture, would like to sing when you go on a Gondola ride in Venice, and pretend to be a gladiator at the Colosseum, while you’re his Caesar.
If you get him a necklace or a keychain, he’d never take it off and has it as his lucky charm, kissing it whenever he misses you or wants the day to go good.
After he understands how the food is made, he’d want to make it himself, so you cooking together would be so cute and fun, and the way you see the love and tenderness in his eyes as he looks at you laughing, while your face is covered in flour...
He’s such a precious and soft baby, and he loves you so much.
Also, he’d love to carry you around just for fun and because he loves holding you close to him, so either bridal style on on his shoulder, you say it, and he’s gonna do it.
Will also like to take lots of short videos with you two, just fooling around, giggling, laughing, making jokes, kissing, pretending to be kittens, having flour fights and all that, since they’re beautiful memories and whenever he’s sad, he watches them and he forgets the reason he was sad in the first place.

Belphegor
Belphegor would take you to New Zealand, because he saw how beautiful and green the landscape were, thanks to the Lord of the Rings movies, so he wanted to see what would be like stargazing on such a flowery field, or sleeping in a Hobbit hole.
He’s pretty sleepy all the time, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t take you to see the big cities as well, eat out, shop for souvenirs and so on, but his heart is taken by the simplicity and peace the countryside and forests hold.
Belphie would actually like to have his head on your lap as you stay at the bottom of a tree and read, much like Froddo Baggings would, waiting for Gandalf.
It’s a guilty pleasure of his, but he wants to see ‘Gandalf’s’ fireworks, and when a festival like that happens, he’d hold your hand tight, having a soft smile on his face and a tender look in his eyes.
Despite not saying it very often, he will confess his love for you.
It’s barely above a whispers, but it’s genuine.
It’s simple, small, but meaningful and beautiful nonetheless.
As you stargaze on the field, he’d tell you the names of all stars and constellations that you can see, and would tell you some trivia he knows about them.
Would take a few pics here and there, but his favourite one is one where you two are on the ground outside, both your heads on his favourite pillow, while looking at each other, both of you having such genuine and pure love in your expressions.
If he ever wakes up earlier than you, and likes to troll a bit, he’d get his tail out and tickle your noes, smirking at how cute your half-asleep reactions were, but would play innocent when you ask about it, only kissing your nose to make you forget and reassure you that it was only a dream (it wasn’t).

Diavolo
Diavolo is so easily excitable, despite his age and title for the next Devil Lord, but honestly, he wants to take you to Iceland to see the Northern Lights that you spoke so fondly about.
There are so many pretty things to see in the Devildom alright, but none of them quite as fascinating to him as how the sky lights up with so many different and beautiful shades of green, blue and pink, it’s almost unreal!
Who would have thought that the Human world could hold such natural wonders?
He could have sword you were a witch or something, and just wanted to impress him with your magic, as if charming him wasn’t enough, but this beauty makes him behave even more like a child, leaving him speechless and breathless.
Diavolo would kiss and hug you, spinning your around so many times, if you allow him, you forgot to count, which is his way of thanking you for showing him this place and he’s honestly just so happy that he can share this precious moment together with you.
You tell him some old stories about how they say the ancestors’ souls watch over everyone from up there, and that even the animals who died have their souls there, living in peace and quiet.
Despite knowing it’s obviously not true, the tales humans come up with are so creative and make so much sense to their beliefs, he’s genuinely fascinated by all these old stories and would like for you to tell him more.
Iceland’s landscapes are also to be taken into account, and Diavolo will take thousands of pics of you literally everywhere, just because you’re so cute and he’s so damn happy and wants many memories together.
Would like for you to take a selfie with his phone, while at the Northern Lights, and would make Lucifer frame it so he can have it on his desk whenever he’s working, and whenever he gets bored, tired, or just misses you, he’d gaze fondly at the picture and would occasionally kiss it.

Book Reflections
Note: Inspired by this skit from the Chaldea Gurus, some of the new interludes in Interlude Campaign 9 in FGO that featured Murasaki Shikibu, and the feelings I felt when I ended up pulling both Jeanne and Jeanne Alter (Avenger) in the same span of time. I’ll refer you all to this song from the apparent Tsukihime anime I never knew about until now, just for a tone-setter.
Written to give myself a mental break before starting to study for my Immunology final.
For @partialdignity, as fluff inspiration and just because our conversations in this past week has been helping me regain energy. Small mentions to Rem and @hasquetzdoneanythingwrong with his pairing in Rex and Quetzalcoatl have also been thrown in for good measure.
Please enjoy, friends. :)
------------------------------------
It didn’t take much for Vy to blink once a shadow was looming over the previously lit pages in her hands. It was hard to ignore the long strand of black hair brushing the edges of the page she was poking at, too. “What are you reading, Master?”
Vy slowly raised her head from her book, squinting as best as she could to focus her view before lurching back a little. “Oh. H-Hi, Saki-san.”
“Hello to you too, Vy.” Even with her image blurred from Vy having put down her glasses, Murasaki Shikibu’s smile was still easy to make out as the Caster kneeled down to Vy’s sitting height, purple eyes warm and inviting. “You don’t have to sit against the shelves to read,” Murasaki continued in the same soft voice, raising a hand to gently press her palm against Vy’s head. Vy couldn’t help but notice a single index finger in particular brushing some stray hairs away from her forehead. “But you didn’t answer my question.”
“I-It’s been a while since someone asked that to me, Saki-san,” Vy replied in just as quiet of a voice, a wry smile on her face. “But,” Vy glanced down at the book in her hands before shrugging her shoulders in Murasaki’s general direction. “I’m just reading a book that my parents once read to me.”
“Ah,” Murasaki said. “May I see?”
“Aye.” Vy gently placed her Eevee Pokémon card (it made for a good bookmark in her opinion) in-between the pages to mark her place, nestling the small thing just above the book’s spine before closing it and handing it to Chaldea’s librarian. Muraski’s eyes skimmed the covers for a moment before widening, and she raised her head to look at Vy with surprise and what Vy could only guess as warmth and care. “I’m guessing it’s a surprise to see me read this?”
“A little bit, but it makes sense considering it’s you, Vy,” Murasaki said, although her voice came out all the more gentle and fond with the inflection. “I heard from the other Servants how you knew about some of us from reading as a child, but I didn’t exactly expect to see this after everything you’ve been through.”
Vy giggled a little, taking the book back once Murasaki offered it to her. “Even when knowing the real people, there’s something about coming back to the books that makes me feel like I’m back at home with Mommy and Daddy, Saki-san. Reading National Geographic’s reiteration of Robin Hood just brings back the nostalgia when I need a break. Everyone’s been running around for Quetz-san’s birthday lately, so the library’s been a good place to be alone.” A shaky, nervous laugh left Vy’s lips as she glanced down at the book in her hands. “More so when I haven’t exactly figured out a present yet. Rex might have my head if Quetz-san doesn’t.”
Murasaki’s hand froze mid-retraction from Vy’s head. “Master…”
Even without her glasses, Vy could see Murasaki’s hesitation, and thus reached up with her own hand to rest a palm against Murasaki’s cheek. “I’m okay, Saki-san,” she said softly. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll figure something out.”
“That… is a hard thing to abide by, not worrying about you,” Murasaki replied, but she still reached up to grip the hand Vy was using to cup her cheek, squeezing softly. “But as long as you don’t push yourself, then I can settle for that much, Master.”
Vy smiled up at the Caster. “I’ll do my best, Saki-san.”
Murasaki let Vy’s hand go at the exact same time Vy turned back to her book, but she still sat down on her knees near Vy’s side, long hair brushing the floor. “Still, is there anything I could do for you, Vy?”
“Just…” Vy considered, taking a quiet breath. “If it’s okay, some quiet company would be nice, Saki-san."
Murasaki proceeded to shift, and without her full vision, Vy could still see how Murasaki was moving her ceremonial robes underneath her legs so that she could fully sit in quiet seiza next to Vy against the shelves. “Of course,” Caster said softly, smile in her voice. “But why sit against the bookshelves, Vy? We have chairs and those modern ‘bean bags’ in the library if you so wished to rest against those instead.”
“Why not the bookshelves?” Vy pointed out, a giggle leaving her lips again. “When I was little, I’d always like to visit the library and read like this, feeling the books in my hands and the spines of other books against my back. It was cozy. Still is now, actually."
“As much as that is… endearing,” Murasaki said dutifully, “you could strain your back if you keep sitting against the shelves without proper support, Vy.” There was some rustling, and Vy did her best not to resist when a hand was gently pushing at her shoulders so that a cushion could be placed between herself and the bookshelves. “Be careful, okay?”
“Aye, and thankie, Saki-san.” With seating secured, Vy opened her book again, glancing over the faded illustrations and the Pokémon trading card nestled in-between them before smiling again. “I guess, just to explain a little more, if you don’t mind, Saki-san…”
“I don’t mind,” Murasaki said, a hand gently patting Vy’s head all over again. “Go ahead, Master, if it comforts you to talk with me.”
“Then thankie again, for listening.” Vy paused, considering the first thought on her mind. The book underneath her fingers felt a bit colder than before. Maybe it was the air conditioning.
“Vy?” Murasaki said after a moment of silence.
“…I know Big Robin and everyone here won’t leave again if they could say anything about it,” Vy said softly, “but I wanted to come back to this book in particular because it started a lot of things for me.” She closed her eyes, letting her blurred vision go away for a moment to speak freely. “Sometimes, Mommy and Daddy would drive me to the library after school, and I’d find this book and keep rereading it between homework assignments. I still remember looking at the kind man in green and enjoying the idea of a hero who looked out for the common person. For people who were too poor and weak to fend for themselves. And, I get it, sometimes life doesn’t go the way it does in books and fairy tales. But I couldn’t help it.”
Even Big Robin said that, once upon a time.
Murasaki hummed in thought, the hand on Vy’s head gently brushing her hair. “It doesn’t,” she said softly. “But that doesn’t make those stories any less valid, Master.”
“And I’m glad to hear that,” Vy answered, leaning into Murasaki’s touch. “It’s just… it’s still unbelievable sometimes, that there’s so many heroes that I know now that would do that for me.”
“Why wouldn’t we?” Murasaki echoed, her touch lingering against Vy’s scalp as she continued to pet Vy’s hair. “A hero is still human in the end, Vy.”
We love you too much, was left unsaid, but still echoing through their mental connection.
Vy nodded. “Aye…” She still leaned against Murasaki’s hand, feeling a sigh bubble up in her throat. “I just want to make sure I can keep being good to you all to deserve all that.”
Murasaki’s hand froze again, this time mid-stroke of Vy’s hair. “Vy…”
“I-It’s a weird thought, but I couldn’t help thinking it when I look back at all the enemies we’ve fought since the original Chaldea fell,” Vy admitted, lowering her head. “Mash has been sighing a lot more lately, Rem hasn’t been feeling that great either, and with Rex being here and there with our missions, I can’t help but wonder if I’m doing enough, is all…” With a small shrug of her shoulders, Vy turned the page, ignoring the urge to put on her glasses. The words were a bit blurry no thanks to her lacking the usual corrective lenses, but Vy could still see all the pictures and thus find warmth curling up in her chest. It was a better feeling than being weighed down by guilt. “…I just look at our enemies and think, ‘I don’t want to become like them.’”
“Like Kadoc and that other Tamamo?” Murasaki filled in quietly. “Vy, I don’t think you ever will. Become like them, I mean.”
“I-I dunno about that, considering the Lostbelts we had to handle, Saki-san. That other Tama-san…” Vy shook her head. “That wasn’t Tama-san. She was mean, she put people down, and she laughed at all of us like we were nothing. She and that priest killed Da Vinci like it was nothing. She even poisoned a cake like it was nothing, and cake is supposed to be a comfort thingie. Kadoc kept blaming us for his own failures, and,” Vy grit her teeth, “saw Mash as a non-person. Kept boasting that he was better. But… he still fought us when he said he could’ve done better for Humanity. He still became an enemy of Humanity when he claimed he could’ve been better for it. What was the point in all that… All the death…”
Murasaki didn’t say anything.
“I-I guess…” Vy’s index finger lingered on a single picture of a green cloak and bright hair as a sad smile played with her lips. “I wanted to come back to this book just to remind myself that I’m still me. That even after three Lostbelts, after destroying three whole histories of people, I haven’t lost all of me yet when trying to get Mommy and Daddy back. That kindness still means something when it’s one of the first things Mommy and Daddy taught me through this book.”
“Vy…”
Vy raised her head to smile, sheepish laugh leaving her lips. “I-I mean, I hope that makes sense! It’s kinda weird, huh? I-I’m sorry for rambling on you, Saki-san.”
Even with her blurred vision, it was obvious Murasaki was feeling something, because her normally calm features were overcome with what looked like tears. “It’s not weird,” Murasaki said shakily, pulling on the back of Vy’s head to gently bump their foreheads together. “And thank you for telling me this, Master.” A shaky breath echoed between them, and Vy couldn’t tell if it came from her or Murasaki. “You are kind, Vy. So much. More than what a lot could claim of you too, and I hope you continue to stay that way.”
“H-How do you know that, Saki-san?” Vy asked weakly. “N-Not to be rude or anything.”
Instead of responding immediately, Murasaki gently let her hand that was on Vy’s head fall, letting it rest against her ceremonial robes as a sparkle shone in those purple eyes. She then scooted back to provide some extra distance, a new serene smile on her face all the while. “I know, Vy, because I am not the only Servant who feels that way.”
Vy glanced back down at the book in her lap, vaguely registering a hint of something green that wasn’t a part of the illustrations suddenly being in view, before looking up.
Another new hand was on top of her head now (when did that get there?), and Vy blinked once Robin Hood made himself known with a barely audible step forward and the calloused fingers pulling her in just for faintly chapped lips to press against her forehead.
“It’s about time for your scheduled daily nap, little sparrow,” Robin Hood whispered against her head, a gentle smile on his face once he pulled back. Vy could feel her breath stall in her throat as she looked up at him, and he merely offered her glasses to her with his other hand. It was telling how Robin wasn’t even fazed at Murasaki’s surprised and quiet “Awawawa”s at his arrival. “I think that’s enough philosophical reading with Caster when you still have a cake to bake later. Not to mention handling your usual mana drain.”
Vy felt herself smile up at the May King before she realized it, the warmth in her chest growing to eclipse her entire heart. “Always going about checking up on me, huh, Big Robin?”
“Who else is going to do it?” Robin said snarkily, but he still kept his volume to a whisper as he turned his head to wink at Murasaki. “Saber and Rider are still making sure that dancing Samba Santa’s clueless about your birthday plans, little sparrow. You just gotta reserve the kitchen when you wake up later.”
“S-So you did have an idea!” Murasaki said in amazement.
“I know, a-and Saki-san, it’s still in the works.” Vy still gently got up from her sitting place with Robin’s help once he offered his arm, leaning against his shoulder once she was standing and hugging the book that started everything to her chest. “Think I’d be able to convince Rex and Quetz-san that the cake isn’t a lie with maraschino cherries? And that Rem would like double-decker chocolate?”
Even without wearing her glasses, Vy could feel both Robin and Murasaki smile at her.
“I think, Vy,” Murasaki said in a warm whisper, “that as long as you’re not alone, you’ll be just fine.”

Pokemon Journeys Episode 48. Let’s review:
1. I’m honestly confused on why Ash and Goh didn’t bring Dragonite and Greedent with them to Unova. Greedent was the mon responsible for getting them the all-you-can-eat pass and while Dragonite lost, they still helped out as much as they could, so where’s the credit?
2. That Pretty-Much Pikachu / Hikachu mech was Tails Doll level creepy in its inactive state. Eugh. And the fact that it can behave pretty sentiently when active honestly does not help matters.
3. This is an issue for the entire episode, but why is Cinderace trying so hard to be friends with Lucario? While it’s appreciated that he’s actually trying to bond with a Pokemon that isn’t smaller than two feet, with how much he’s putting into in making friends with Lucario, it just seems..... forced in order to establish the comedic theme for this episode. It especially doesn’t help that this is actually the first time Lucario and Cinderace have interacted in a non-battle manner, which makes this whole plot point come out of nowhere.
If they’re trying to establish the two as future rivals, then that shouldn’t work either because of their trainer’s different goals and the fact that if Cinderace ever tried to take on Lucario in a no-holds-barred battle with their trainers without any plot-induced stupidity, Cinderace would get absolutely bodied. Lucario has already done so much more impressive things than Cinderace, that in a fighting sense, it wouldn’t be a contest. Not to mention, Goh’s goal is about catching while Ash’s is about battling, but why set this up if Goh and his Pokemon are somehow just as strong as Ash? It doesn’t make sense and, like I said in an anon ask, it ruins the power balance of the show.
4. And here’s a problem I have specifically for Lucario: Why is he now suddenly acting like he’s too good for anything? Now only is this hinted in the new opening where Dragonite basically has to force him to appear on-screen, but in the episode proper, when Ash offers him a snack, he just coldly stares off. Ummm, why? He has no qualms following Ash’s directions in battle, they never had a previous spate to warrant this behavior from Lucario, Lucario showed no hesitation to cheer with his friends after defeating Eternatus, and he was completely loyal to Ash as a Riolu both inside and OUTSIDE of battles to the point he was basically a 2nd Pikachu.
If they’re trying to make him a stern and stoic type, that would be cliche because we’ve already had those Lucarios with Sir Aaron, Maylene, Ryley, and Korrina in the past. It wouldn’t be original or anything, it would be completely boring. Heck, as much as it pains me to say this, freaking CAMERON’s Lucario had more personality than this! Plus, the anime has established that baby Pokemon usually take more of their trainers after hatching, and since Lucario showcased more of that as a Riolu, it honestly feels like his character is taking a step back in development, it especially doesn’t help that we JUST had the whole “stoic-guy develops more” stuff with Raboot. Writers, DON’T reuse past elements. Try new things!
5. While the snacks Ash and Goh get do look good, it honestly would’ve been cooler if they got snacks pertaining more to the signature of Iris and Cilan as a little callback to the Best Wishes series, like maybe an Axew Chocolate figure or a Mint Pansage treat. The anime did one with Dawn and Brock with the Piplup and Croagunk episode, so why not here?
6. Also Goh only prefers plain vanilla and that’s just too relatable to me cause I love vanilla.
7. Another issue with the overall episode, but Unova just seems so dead. There are no additional people or Pokemon at the park nor at the city. This is a problem because, not only is it important to keep your worlds alive, but this is UNOVA we’re talking about, and it doesn’t help that the episode takes place in the Pokemon World equivalent of New York City.
8. And now Lucario hates getting his fur dirty? When and why??? He had no issue going his fur scorched a billion times over with Eternatus and Mewtwo and this is also a repeat of Lycanroc’s whole thing with getting messy. While I doubt this will become a big development thing that Lycanroc had, it’s just disappointing they’re reusing past gags for Pokemon instead of trying new ones.
9. Apparently Cinderace’s time as a Raboot never made it learn the value of personal space.
10. ANOTHER overall issue with the episode is how choppy the animation is. There are just some parts that look very poorly put together. Examples being Lucario and Cinderace flying around the city and Team Rocket blasting off. It literally just looks like a bunch of different frames grouped together without proper transitioning. C’mon animators, you’re better than that! Literally almost every battle scene we’ve received from this season alone so far is proof of that.
11. I do love the canine-esque sounds Lucario makes throughout the episode, something I don’t believe other Lucarios have done.
12. I really wish episodes like this where it’s the Pokemon with the most focus had either subtitles (like in OG’s Island of Giant Pokemone) or the narrator translating for them (like SM’s Pikachu’s Exciting Adventure). It would be a good way to know their characters more and help build connections. Heck, not even Meowth bothered to translate for TR when Lucario and Cinderace started arguing. Missed opportunity right there.
13. The gag where TR, Lucario, and Cinderace started swinging around the city right behind Ash, Pikachu, and Goh lasted WAY too long.
14. Nice touch of TR’s rental Pokemon of the day being Sawk and Throh.
15. Wait, so it was Cinderace, the lesser experienced of the two who’s owned by the catcher, who thought of the idea of using their glued-together palms to their advantage? Not Lucario, the one who’s been through more battles and owned by the battler? What the what?
16. Defeated by two mons who were on a basic handicap and didn’t had their trainers on their side. Further proof of how absolute jokes Team Rocket are.
17. I’ve said this for past regions, but plump Ash can either be really blessed or really cursed.
18. Hahaha Lucario got dirty again and he’s chasing Cinderace now. Can I please be done with this review now? I can? Cool.
Overall.... yeah this episode wasn’t good imo. Weird animation, forced and/or inconsistent character moments, an environment close to dead, and unfunny gags that lasted longer than they should have. Hecks, not ever TR made me laugh in this episode. I’m seriously hoping they aren’t trying to establish some kind of “ace rivalry” between Lucario and Cinderace. I’ve already discussed this issues and problems with that, so I’m not gonna repeat myself.
Sorry fellow fans, but I gotta score this episode a 3/10 for all the reasons above.
Looks like next episode will introduce us to Chloe’s leaked Eevee, so here’s hoping we can get some character development! Please please PLEASE some character development!!

Pokemon Found Family: Chapter 2 (Registered)
This is the second chapter of Pokemon Found Family, my pokemon fanfic! The raw text is below the cut!
I’m always up for questions!
Previous --- Next
Jane finds herself in an odd space. It’s the temple she fell into the night before, but the fences scattered around the back door of sorts are gone. Jane walks into the passageway and down a flight of stairs before entering the room at the end of the corridor. An odd feeling sweeps over her as she notices the coffin in the center of the room, causing Jane’s fur to stand on end. As Jane looks around for any sign of where the feeling had come from, she jumps at the sight of a ghostly outline of another pokemon in the room with her. The other pokemon she sees is certainly larger than Jane, but they’re on four legs like she is, and is calmly gazing at her. After the fight or flight response begins to ebb from her system, Jane looks more closely at the ghostly pokemon in the room. She recognizes them as a male pyroar, and can’t suss out any other details thanks to the pale blue coloring of the pyroar’s ghostly physique.
“Excuse me, you are Jane Eevee, correct?” the ghostly pyroar asks.
“Yes, I am…” Jane answers.
“Oh good. It’s nice to make your acquaintance.” The pyroar puts a paw forward. “I’m Cyrus Pyroar, champion of Mischief Valley. You’ve been sent here by Jirachi, correct?”
“Oh um… Yes. Jirachi got me out of danger by sending me here.”
“Did they give you a mission, Jane?”
“Not really. They just told me to make a new life here.”
“Oh. On a related note, has Geist told you about his duties as curator of my temple?”
“No, not yet…”
“Alright then… Hmm?” Cyrus looks up the flight of stairs, and notices the time. “Oh goodness, it’s already almost morning.” Cyrus refocuses on Jane as he adds “Jane, I can talk more later. For now, the registration process will begin for you today. See you when I can.”
Jane wakes up to the sound of Geist’s voice. “Hey Jane, we’ve got places to be!”
Jane gets up, and turns in Geist’s direction.
“Erm, can I pick you up again?” Geist asks in an uneasy tone.
Jane nods and says “Sure! Go ahead!”
Geist hastily picks up Jane in his arms and goes out his front doorway. Jane had forgotten that Geist lives high on the valley’s wall the night before, and upon remembering this fact, she closes her eyes and stuffs her head into Geist’s arm. Geist notices this and remembers her mentioning that she doesn’t like heights, so he initiates a phantom force to get them where they need to go, the valley’s citizenship office. Jane keeps her head snuggled in Geist’s arm until she feels the sensation of the sun’s rays return, on the destination side of Geist’s phantom force. Geist lowers Jane close to the ground, and Jane, after looking around for a moment, hops out with no issue.
“Where are we now?” Jane asks as she looks up at Geist.
“We’re at the citizenship office, also known as where you get registered.” Geist answers.
“Oh.” Jane turns toward the entryway to her right. “So here?”
“Yeah. They close at eleven, so let’s be quick.” Geist had taken note that it was ten fifteen when they left his house.
Both Geist and Jane walk into the citizenship office, and the sound of their entry makes the receptionist perk up. Despite still being new at the whole being a receptionist deal, the teenage drizzile at the desk has been practicing being more formal to those to pass by, but when they recognize the gengar that comes in, their veneer of professionalism dissolves on account of the recent distance between them two.
“Oh my gosh Geist!” the drizzile excitedly says with shining eyes. “Er, w-what brings you here today?!”
Without missing a beat, Geist smoothly replies “Hey mister Jazzadile.” Geist sets an arm on the desk and adds “Looks like mom has let you be at the receptionist desk?”
“Yeah yeah! Ever since I had my sixteenth birthday, mom’s letting me do all kinds of stuff!”
“Like what little man?” Geist continues.
“I can go outside the valley now with an adult at my side, I can go to my friends’ places when I’m not busy, and I get to run this when she’s busy!”
“Nice, Jazz!” Geist replies. “Wait, is your mom out right now?”
“No, she isn’t. She’s working with the governor right now.”
“In your house…?”
“Yeah yeah. Do you need her right now?”
“Yeah, I do.” Geist looks to Jane and adds “I’ve got someone new here with me.”
Thanks to the stone countertop blocking Jazz’s view of Jane, he asks “Are they under two feet and or point six meters? If they are, they are supposed to jump onto the counter.”
Geist looks back at Jane and quickly crunches some numbers in his head. He figures since Jane doesn’t go past half of his height, she’s short enough to get on the counter. Geist locks eyes with Jane, then gestures for her to hop up. Jane sees the gesture, then hops onto the counter without tripping up.
“Oh!” Jazz says, “So where did you come from, eevee?”
“Oh yeah, a friend of mine sent me here to make a new life for myself.” Jane answers.
Jazz’s mind stalls looking for a good response. “Um… Okay then, but where did you come from? P-Please include the city as well as the nation.”
“Oh, I’m from Furton, Pawland. It’s a long story…” Jane says.
“Oh. You’ve come a ways from here!” Jazz excitedly replies. Geist raises an eyebrow as he looks at Jane. Jazz then adds “Could you tell me about Pawland???”
Before Jane can respond, the door from behind opens, and a krookodile about Geist’s size comes out of it, followed by a sableye. Geist instantly recognizes both of them, whereas Jane is a little put off by at least the krookodile. The krookodile notices Geist, and walks over as she greets him.
“Hey Geist! Long time no see! Did ya bring someone new here?”
“Greetings Sophie! I see that Jazzadile is able to handle the desk, seeing as he’s helping this eevee get registered!” Geist replies.
Sophie’s eyes widen. “Oh? What have you filled out so far for this eevee, Jazz?”
Jazz sheepishly smiles. “Uh, well, they said they come from Furton, Pawland so far…”
“You haven’t asked their name or pronouns yet? That’s the first thing you ask someone sweetpea!” Sophie says.
Jazz’s embarrassment begins to show on his face. “Oops… Sorry mom....”
Sophie crouches down to Jazz’s level. “Jazzadile, that’s fine for now, thanks to this being Geist’s friend, but you need to remember alright?”
“Okay mom…” Jazz says, blushing.
Sophie gets back up. “I can take it from here Jazzie. Feel free to go hangout with a friend or so.”
Jazz shuffles out from behind the counter, then past the sableye (who has stayed remarkably quiet thus far), to the door that Sophie had come out of a moment ago. The door quietly closes behind him as Sophie redirects her attention to the now silent eevee standing on the counter.
“Anyway sweetpea, what’s your name and pronouns?” Sophie asks.
“I’m… Jane. I go by female pronouns.”
“Alrighty then, How old are ya?” Sophie asks with her trademark grin.
“I’m seventeen, Lady Sophie.”
“Huh, that’s interesting. How ya got here is none of my business, but you’ll have to select an adult thanks to being a minor. You know who?”
Jane looks to Geist as she says “I’m staying with Geist.”
Sophie’s eyes widen just like before. “Oh?” She turns to Geist. “What made that happen Gei-”
The sableye in the room decides he can’t stay quiet any longer, and jumps up onto a different part of the counter to be better heard. “What in the world are you thinking Geist?!”
Geist raises an eyebrow, just as Sophie does the same. Jane remains silent as she examines the sableye through his tirade.
“Did you just wake up one day and thought ‘I want an extra distraction in my life’?! That’s exactly what you’ve done by adopting this forsaken eevee!!! Even worse, this will make the other nations even more paranoid if they find-”
Jane puts on the most commanding tone she can as she says “Excuse me, I’M the one who wanted to live with him. He got me to the hospital and was the second person in my life to show me kindness. I don’t freaking care what those ‘other nations’ think because the only thing that other nations have given me has been SUFFERING. Know your place, sir sableye. This is NOT your decision.”
The whole room goes quiet. Sophie then cracks a nervous smile, worrying what the governor will think of what Jane just said. Geist’s worry is eclipsed by his surprise on account of Jane’s bold words. Despite being essentially the leader of Mischief Valley, Moshe remains silent as his emotions rage a battle within.
Sophie decides she should say something. “Should I tell you who this sableye is?”
“I mean, you can if you want.” Jane plainly answers.
“This is Moshe Sableye, our governor here in the valley.” Sophie explains.
Geist adds “Yeah… He’s my boss, Jane.”
“Oh. Should I mention that’s one of my more tame corrections?” Jane admits.
Moshe regains his bearing as Geist and Sophie exchange looks. “No, this eevee is right. My duty as governor is to make sure the valley’s citizens have their needs met. I’m deeply sorry that other nations have treated you that way, and I wish Mischief Valley will be different for you. Excuse my vitriol from earlier.”
Geist and Sophie both sigh in relief.
Moshe looks to Geist. “Anyways, Geist, could you fix that hole in the temple’s ceiling? We will be having a procession of nobles coming to inspect it later this week.”
“Could you call in the restoration force in that case? Psychic doesn’t quite cut it in terms of long term stability.” Geist says.
“Got it, Geist. Follow me if you will.”
Moshe jumps off the counter and begins to walk toward the entryway, and Geist obeys, following close behind the sableye. Geist briefly stops when he realizes one thing that almost slipped his mind.
Geist turns and eyes Sophie. “Sophie, could you hang onto Jane for now? I’ve got a task to do.”
“No problem Geist! A friend of yours is always welcome here!”
Geist catches up with Moshe, then says a quick “Thank you!” before shuffling out of the entryway.
Sophie’s gaze shifts to Jane once Geist is out of sight. “So miss Jane, would ya like to hang out behind the counter while I close up shop?”
“Oh um… Sure. Could I speak with you while you do that?” Jane says.
“Sure sweetpea! What do ya want to talk about?” Sophie says as she walks over to the boulder in the corner of the room.
“May I ask how you and Jazz know Geist?”
Sophie picks up the boulder and begins to walk it over to the entryway as she answers “Oh yeah, like you, Geist’s not native to here, so he had to go through me to live here. Geist knows Jazz because he helped bring the little sobble to me as a birthday surprise. That was about four years ago, and his nearly unprecedented kindness is why we’re still friends.”
“Oh. Do you know why he came here, or…?”
Sophie sets the boulder down in the entryway, then turns back to Jane as she says “He’s usually up tight about his past. He don’t talk about it much. I’m not sure if he’d be okay with me tellin’ ya that stuff, sweetpea. You’d have to ask him.”
“Okay then.” Jane then notices the placement of the boulder and asks “May I ask how we get out of here?”
Sophie points to the door behind the counter and says “We go through that door into my house, then through the tunnel to the bottom of the valley.”
“Okay then. Show me the way!”
Sophie gets back behind the counter before saying “Alrighty sweetpea, follow me!”
Sophie opens the door, and they both walk into Sophie’s home, then close the door behind themselves.

Nervous <Two>
Chapter 2
Chris and Lena pulled up to Marylea’s house. Despite being incredibly nervous about lunch with Chris, Lena was actually able to relax and let her guard down.
“Sorry to keep you out late. But did you at least have a good time?”
“Honestly, yes. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to have an adult conversation without worry about little ears listening or having to stop every so often to make sure she is ok.”
“Well, I’m glad to give you a little break. I can’t imagine it’s easy doing it all alone.”
Chris could only imagine all the stuff she has had to deal with on her own. It probably doesn’t help with having anxiety. But if she is able to have a good time maybe it will help easy her.
“It’s not all that bad but I wouldn’t change the feeling for anything in the world. She is a good baby.”
“That’s good to hear. Can’t wait to meet her.” He replies. He doesn’t want to let her go but knows she spent most of her day on a plane and should have some bonding time with her bestie. “So tomorrow what are you doing?”
“Probably sleep. Why?”
“Well if Marylea is working all day. I can keep you company and do some cheesy sight seeing.”
Lena’s eyes grow slightly larger, she wasn’t expecting that. “Ummm. Sure.”
“I mean you don’t have to if you don’t want to just figured we could continue to hang out and I have nothing on my schedule. It’s kind of boring to be home alone all day.”
Hearing his reason Lena slightly regrets her reply to an innocent question. “No, that sounds like a good idea. Just nothing too early. I have a feeling Marylea will wanna do some drinking so yeah. Might be slightly hungover.”
“Gotcha. Are you a party girl?”
“Maybe back in the day. Once I got married and had Eevee, that feeling kind of went away. You know?”
“Understandable. We all have those party animal moments right?”
“Exactly.”
The pair grew quiet thinking about how they both use to party hard but have grown up and stopped acting like children.
“Can I have your phone to put my number in?” Lena smiles and hands her phone over to Chris. “So I’ll call or text around 10 ok?”
“Awesome sauce.” Without thinking Lena leans over gives Chris a quick hug and small peck on the cheek and runs inside before he could open the door for her. “Bye” she yells from the front door before walking inside.
What a woman, he thinks as he pulls off.
********************************************
“Well, well, well, look who finally decides to come home?” Marylea says as she gets up from the couch. “Were you guys making out?”
“Funny but no. We just had lunch at a small restaurant and talked. A lot.”
“Talked? That’s it. You went out on a date with Chris Evans and all you did was talk?”
Lena gives Marylea a look. “Yes. Just talking. Sorry that I didn’t bang him on the first date.”
“Just kidding. But it’s good to know you had a nice time.” Marylea replies as she opens up a bottle of wine. “So do you like him or like him like him?”
“He’s a nice guy.”
“You are avoiding the question.” Marylea hands Lena a glass of wine. “I’ll ask again when you are tipsy. I mean he isn’t my type but I’m not dead. He’s gorgeous.”
Lena takes a few sips of wine and kicks off her shoes, planting herself next to Marylea on the couch. “I don’t know if I like him like him. I honestly just met the guy.”
A few hours and drinks later. . .
“So he is sexy. But I doubt I’m his type.”
“Why would you say that? He legit picked you! Stop selling yourself short. You are worthy of happiness.”
“I feel like I already had my happiness with Ezra. I don’t know if I need or deserve someone else.”
Marylea looks at her friend like she is crazy. Lena had changed a little bit after meeting Ezra. Even though Lena would never admit it but he could be slightly verbally abuse and make Lena think no one else would ever want her. Hearing her best friend say that broke her heart. “You and I both know that isn’t true. You are worthy of all of it. Hence why I set you up with him.”
“You really think I’m worthy of Chris freaking Evans?” Marylea nods at her; Lena shrugs and picks up her phone. “Ok. Fine. I’ll text him then.”
“Wait, you’ve had his number this entire evening and didn’t tell me or anything?”
“My bad?” Lena gives her a tipsy smile. “What should I say?”
“What do you wanna say? And isn’t a little late?”
They both looked at the clock. 2:45 in the morning. It was a little late or early however you look at it but Lena has a look of determination. “I’ll just thank him for the lunch and I’ll see him tomorrow.”
“Boring but ok. When do you plan to see him again?”
“Tomorrow hopefully.”
“Oh really now.”
“He figured we could do something since you have to work.”
Marylea takes a shot of tequila and make a funny face. “Well isn’t that super sweet.”
“Hater.”
Marylea throws her hands up in the air. “Hey now. I wasn’t hating just saying that it was sweet. Especially considering you were just to do a few events with him.  Nothing more or less.”
“Ma’am I don’t think I like your tone or where you are gong with that comment.”
Lena replies taking a shot of tequila.
“Just saying he might like you like you. With his PENIS!”
Lena looks shocked but happy at the possibilities. “Shut up!” She squeals as she throws a pillow at her friend, Marylea dodges the pillow and sticks her tongue out at Lena. “Do you think he might like me with his penis?” She asks in a humorous whisper.
“You never know if you don’t try to get to know him. Meaning don’t blow him off tomorrow.” Lena rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "I know he hasn’t been gone long but I highly doubt he wants you to be alone the rest of your life. Just give him and the whole experience a chance.”
“I know and I will try just makes me nervous. You know? Plus being out here with no clue what all they offer makes me feel like he is all in control of the situation. So it just makes me slightly tense.” Lena stretches out in the king size bed and starts to unwind.
Marylea props herself up on her elbows and looks at her friend who is slowly fading fast to Dreamland. “I’ll sign you up for some dance classes. I know it has been a while since we did one but we can try one out. Oh and don’t forget about the photo shoot I sat up with my friend.” She waits for a reply but sees her friend fast asleep with her cell phone in her hand.  She takes the phone out of her friend’s hand and sees that she hadn’t even hit send on the message to Chris.
“Lena?” With no reply from Lena, Marylea decides to give Lena another little push in the right direction of happiness. She adds a few more lines to the text and hits send then, covers Lena and herself up with a blanket. Just like old times. She thought to herself, she has missed her friend and these moments that have helped them bond and grow. God please let them work out, I need her out here permanently. It’s been forever since she talked to God but figured at this point she could use all the help she can get.
***************************************************************************************************************************************************
Chris wakes up at his usual time thanks to Dodger, he loves that dog and his ability to wake up at the same time every day no matter where they are. He lets Dodger out and does some stretches. While his cup of tea is brewing he looks at his phone and catches up on the news and gossip. When he glances at his messages he has a few from friends but one from an unknown number, before blocking the number he decides to read the message.
Thanks for lunch yesterday. Hope to see you again today. 💋
Seeing this message makes him smile a bit. Glad to know that he can still connect to females. He wants her to not only have a good time in California but wants her to enjoy her time with him. He knows it’s only been a day but he likes talking to her. It’s been so long since he has met someone so real and honest that it makes him want to keep her smiling and laughing. He sends her a quick reply then makes a quick call.
“Hey Marylea. Did I wake you?”
A sleepy Marylea answers on the first ring, “Hello? Chris? It’s not even 7am. What do you need?”
“Umm yeah everything is ok for the most part. I just wanted some intel on Lena. Like you know what kind of breakfast she might like or favorite flowers.”
The questions that were asked didn’t fully take Marylea by surprise. She was right when she told Lena Chris liked her. It’s good to see that he is moving so quick to make things go smoothly with her. “Do you like my best friend?”
A small pause happens because he isn’t fully sure how to answer the question. “I think she is a great girl so far. I might like her. I just want to know she likes me back.”
“Interesting… well for breakfast I already got her favorite bagels and cream cheese. But she does love daisies, so if you surprised her with those she would be ok. But you should look at some of her social media to get a better idea of what she likes and I don’t know continue to talk to her to get to know her.”
Chris chuckles at Marylea’s last comment. “I know. I talked to her a lot last night but, I just wanted to have my best foot forward and show her I think she’s pretty awesome. But anyways I’ll let you go. Is she still asleep?”
Marylea looks back at the king size bed to her bestie knocked out still. She doesn’t think she has gotten much sleep or at least a night without interruption since being the only one there for Eevee. “Yeah she is still a sleep. But Chris one more thing before you go.”
“What’s that?”
“If you hurt her, make her cry, or do anything other than make her smile I will promise to end you. She is my best friend and deserves only the best and that was why I volunteered her to escort you to a few gigs. Don’t lead her on, she doesn’t deserve that. Understand?”
“Loud and clear. I just want a friend or maybe more.”
“Ok. Good now I’ve gotta get finished dressing for work. I guess I’ll see you later.” She says cheerfully after changing her tone, “And one more thing. Hello Kitty.”
“Hello Kitty?”
“She adores anything and everything Hello Kitty. The rest of her obsession or ‘hobbies’ as she calls them you will have to figure them out. Buh bye.”
“Bye and thanks so much.”
Click.
With that Chris started googling flower shops that had daisies and starts looking at how to make today a great day for them both.
***************************************************************************************************************************************************
Marylea knew she shouldn’t threatened him but at the same point she didn’t really care. Lena was honestly like the only real family she has even if they aren’t blood. She knows if it was the other way around Lena would have said that and more. But on a positive note Chris has a crush on her. She smiles and does a little happy dance as she grabs her keys and heads for the door.
“Marylea? Are you leaving?” Lena groggily asks as she lifts herself up from the comfortable bed.
“Yeah, I’m heading out. Bagels are in the fridge. Tylenol on the nightstand just is case you are hungover.”
“Aren’t you?”
“A little bit but I can get through it. I’ve gotta go but, have fun with Chris today.”
“Ugh! You had to remind me of that. I just wanna sleep.”
“Nope, you already agreed to today.  Maybe it will be an easy day but in a few days you have a photo shoot to do for Andre.” Marylea saw Lena’s eyes open up more when mentioning a photo shoot that she hadn’t told her about yet. With that pause she took that as a sign to leave. “We can discuss that tonight over dinner. Love you mean it.”
Lena falls back into bed and sighs. What have I gotten myself into? She then looks over to her phone:
Had a great time also. Text me when you wake up. Got some fun plans today. :)
Seeing that text made her smile a little bit. She can’t remember she woke up to a text from someone, probably not since her and Ezra were dating years ago. It was a small message but the act still made her smile.  She won’t admit to anyone including herself that she might have a small crush on him. Part of her feels like admitting that  means she doesn’t love Ezra anymore which isn’t the case but she knows he can’t come back. 301 days. She is hoping that as time goes on it will be better.
It’s only 7am she calls her parents to check up on Eevee while making herself breakfast. Her parents let her know that Eevee was doing just fine. She decides to shoot Chris a quick message and let him know that she would be ready in the next hour or so.
With that she takes two Tylenols then heads to the shower. She realizes that she forgot to ask him how to dress so she figures jean shorts and a white tank top would work. She decides since her hair is still straight she would do her hair in space balls.
She hears the doorbell ring and looks at the clock. Wow he wasn’t joking about wanting to see me. Opening the door she is greeted with a huge bouquet of daisies.
“Oh my! These are beautiful. How did you know these are my favorite?”
“A little bird told me.”
“Would this birdy happen to be my bestie?” She asked giving him a curious look with one eyebrow raised.
“I can neither confirm nor deny. . .”
“Fine be difficult. So what are the plans for the day?”
“Well I was thinking of going to a café.”
“A café?” She asks with a questioning look.
“You don’t like the idea?”
“Didn’t say that just hoping our full day won’t be spent at a café.”
“Ohh no never. I figured it would be a good way to start the day, then maybe hit a few shops up to find you something for the charity dinner.”
Charity dinner. Thinking of what is to come slightly makes her uncomfortable but, she knows she needs to do this. What’s the worse that can happen in all honesty? You have a great time, meet new people, have fun experiences, and maybe fall in love. LOVE. That seems slightly foreign to her. It has been 301 days since she has been in love. Maybe it has been enough time to at least play with the idea of finding a new love. She has hated going to sleep alone and waking up alone. “OK let’s go!”
The two get in Chris’ car and head down the interstate. Lena enjoys the warm breeze as they are cruising through the city. Chris admire her from the side as she is quietly taking in her new surroundings. He can’t help but think she is beautiful.  She doesn’t wear any makeup minus some chap stick but still manages to look amazing.
They finally arrived to a large bright pink RV as soon as they see it Lena’s eyes grow wide and she squeaks out, “Hello Kitty Café!? Oh. My God! I’ve always want to go to it but they never come to West Virginia or anywhere near me.” Lena hasn’t been this excited about anything for her in a while. “This is sooo amazing.”
“You are really excited about this. Aren’t you?” He replies with a chuckle as he puts the car in park. She’s out of the car before he shuts his door, she standing there bouncing up and down looking giddy with happiness. With out thinking he grabs her hand as the go to stand in line with the other patrons. Her body tensed at first when he grabbed her hand but he stroke her hand with his thumb and she quickly relaxed.
“I’m super excited! This is like totally awesome!” She gets slightly distracted by the menu of things to get.
In no time they are in the front of the line, Lena still hadn’t figured out what she wanted so Chris figured he would surprise her even more. “Good morning ladies, I called ahead and I believe you put stuff aside for me and my lovely date.” Hearing the label of ‘date’ made Lena blush slightly.
“Ohhhh it really is you! And yes, we put one of everything to the side like you asked. Can we have your autograph pretty please?” The perky clerk asked as she had another girl run to get the bag full of goodies. Chris nods as the girl and few others run over to him to get his picture. Lena politely walked off to the side so they could get his picture. “Can we have a picture of you and him together? You guys look so cute together. Plus you guys are matching.”
Shocked by the fact neither had looked at the other’s clothes they realized they did in fact match. Both wore white tank tops and jean shirts with Converse, hers were Hello Kitty and his were solid black. They both had sunglasses on, the main difference was she didn’t have a hat on unlike him who is sporting his favorite NASA hat.
“Sure why not.” Lena shocked herself with how easily she replied at being ok with being photographed with him. I guess I need to start getting use to it. Chris pulls Lena closer to him and puts his arm around her waist while her hand lays on his chest.
“Awww you guys look so cute! What’s your name? How long have you guys been going out?”
Lena looks at Chris nervously praying that he will take the lead and answer questions. She isn’t sure what to say other than the truth so she hopes that when he answers it will set the tone of how things will always be for them.
“This is Evangeline, and we this is our first official date. We just met through friends yesterday. Hate to cut this short, but I want to give her a great first date.” With that Chris grabs her hand once more as they head back to the car with four bags packed full of Hello Kitty merchandise.
Beaming Lena gives him a bright smile as she pulls the plush Hello Kitty from the bag. “That was awesome! Thank you so much for this all! I can’t believe you got me one of everything.”
“Well I looked at your Instagram and was trying to figure out what you did have but I figured this was easier. Are you happy with it?”
“Most def am I happy about it all! Like look how cute this is”. She shows him the bow shaped water bottle and squeals. “So where to now? If there is a place that can really top of this awesomeness.”
Chris chuckles and places his hand on her knee and gives it gentle squeeze. “This probably won’t be as awesome as the Hello Kitty cafe but it’s still pretty good.”
Silently Lena gives him a confused look because she was curious as to what their next adventure would entail. They pulled up to a small bright blue building no words were on the building just large glass windows with mannequins with beautiful gowns on them.  “Where are we?”  She asks as he opens the door for her.
“CHRISTOPHER!”  A small lady who resembles Edna from the Incredibles comes speed walking up to them with open arms.
“Edna!”  Chris greets her with the same warmth that she gives him.  “How are you?”
“Ohh I’m good.  Same ole’ same ole’.  You know how it is.”  Edna stops when she realizes there is someone else with him.  “And WHO is this lovely lady?”  Edna takes a good look at the brown eye beauty.
Chris snakes his arm around Lena’s waist causing her to blush slightly.  “This is Lena.  We need a dress for tomorrow night.  Nothing to flashy but something  . . ..”  He trails off then looks down at Lena trying to sum up how he wants he to look.  “Beautiful.”
Edna watches how the pair enacts with each other.  She isn’t sure if they are dating or not but they will be soon.  Generally, when Chris has a lady to take with to events they are family and the ones who aren’t have their own designer they would want rather than Edna.  Interesting. “Well hello.  What is your style?  Favorite color?  Are you opposed to heels?”
“Hi.”  Lena says going to shake hands but Edna give her a hug with the same warmth she gave Chris.  “I’m not a glamour girl by any means.  I’m a mom.  So I guess boring girl next door.  I’m ok with a basic black gown, but not heels.”
“I’d venture to say that you aren’t boring on any level.”  Edna says while Chris slyly nods his head.  “But here try this black gown on.”  Edna hands Lena a long black  plunging v-neckline and draped-knot waisted gown.  While Lena takes the gown and go to the dressing room; Edna goes into the back thinking she has the perfect dress for Lena.
Lena looks at herself in the gown before stepping out.  Wow I look basic and boring, but this is me now.  I guess.  “What do you guys think?  It’s a little loose but it works.”
Chris and Edna look at each other giving each other the same look.  Chris knows how blunt Edna is so he opens his mouth to say something but Edna beats him to it.  “I don’t like it on you.”
 “Excuse me?”
“I. Do. Not. Like. This. On. You.”
Lena looks at herself in the huge mirror.  “Why not?  You made this; I thought I looked ok.”
Chris intervenes before Edna would open her mouth again and possibly hurting Lena’s feelings.  “What she means is that it doesn’t flatter your figure.”
She looks slightly defeated.  “Well what should I wear then?”  Tears threaten to fall down her face.  She refused to let them see her cry.
He could see the difference in her body language. He hurt her. “It’s ok. We will find something better.” He grabs her hand and gives it a gentle squeeze.
Edna watches them interact and realizes that she was a little bit too blunt with her reply.  “I didn’t mean to say I don’t like it on you, just that it doesn’t look like it is truly your character deep down.  Come sit.”  Lena joins Edna on the velvet blue couch, seeing that they are about to have a moment he walks outside to return some phone calls he has missed.  “Lets just be bluntly honest right now.  You don’t like it very much either.”
Lena looks down cocking her her head to the side. “It’s not that I don’t like it. . . I just feel like I’m not really Hollywood material.  I don’t know what he or anyone wants of me.”
“Have you met Chris?  He isn’t Hollywood on any level.”
“I know but ...”
“No buts. He likes you. A lot. He might not have told you yet but he does.  You are beautiful and a mom but you can do both. Trust me with your dress ok?”
“Ok. I’m going to trust, but what do you have in mind?”
“This.  Now go try it on before he comes back.  I want you to just be yourself and more importantly, love yourself.”
********************************************
“So let me get this straight. You didn’t want to take a family member to the charity dinner so you asked Jeff to find you someone. And now you are now ‘dating’ a random girl.”  Scott says.
Chris runs his hands through his hair. “Wow you make me sound like a desperate asshole.”
“You said it not me.”
“Look it’s not like that, well not entirely. She was volunteered by Jeff’s assistant and I like spending time with her so far. I’d like to date her maybe. But...”
Scott cuts his brother off. “But what?”
“I don’t know if she likes me. Like she has been through some stuff. I don’t want to pressure her, even if I feel we would be great together.”
“Welp brother of mine. Give it time and do baby steps.  I mean if she let you hold her hand and such I think she is on board. Just baby steps.”
“Gotcha. Well I’m going to go inside and see what Edna has her in maybe something to really show her body off more.”
There was a pause. “You left her with Edna?”
“Yeah why?”
“Nothing just go back to see what she has her in.”

'"Roman, what's going on- buddy.."
Thomas has successfully befriended the Eevee, but what about catching him?
Tumblr media
Logan
MJ and Thomas watched most of their pokemon play smiling, Logan and Elliott sticking by the trainers sides. Patton leapt around Iris and Issac, playing a small game of tag with the Vulpix and Prinplup as Roman faced Linda in a mock battle, Eevee slipping between the Scyther’s sharp claws.
Logan pawed at the page as he sat in MJ’s lap, staring in awe at the stars. It had become a tradition MJ would show Logan a book on space and assist him on learning how to read when the two groups collided, the trainer borrowing most of them from libraries or his mother. All but the first one he had shown the dark silver Eevee, “A Magnus Quantity of Space” which was currently open as Logan drank up the knowledge for the infinite time. He was happy.
“Logan! Looooooogan! Logan Logan Logan Logay-” “what” Logan snapped, lifting his head as the smug faced Roman grinned back.
“Come on, join us!” Logan rolled his eyes and just wanted to ignore him, but Patton looked over, hope and joy sparkling in his shiny grey eyes. Logan sighed but stood, sending an annoyed stare at Elliott as the shy Absol snickered.
The dark silver pokemon let out a huff, joining the other five as they set up game rules for tag. Logan half listened, half stared at a nearby wind-rustled Pecha bush. The berries were much too sweet for his taste, having always been ‘up Patton’s alley’ as Thomas and Roman would say. Though the berries did hold a memory in his heart from long ago, because-
“Boop, your it!” Logan jolted as Patton tapped his nose before dashing off. The game had begun.
Logan was surprisingly fast for an Eevee, tagging Linda before she even knew he was next to her. They continued their game, the speedy pokemon darting away without getting tagged again.
Logan carefully pawed forward, looking around as to make sure no one was there. He calmed his spiked fur from his last dodge, glancing ahead. There was that Pecha bush once again, shaking as if “tag!”
Roman crashed into him having lept from the bushes, sending both suddenly tumbling forwards. Logan fell right into the Pecha bush, hitting something inside before continuing his roll until both beings were out before Thomas, MJ, and Elliott.
“Ow..” Logan groaned, Roman’s ‘Mysterious One AM Disappearance’ plan already half done as he stood up, looking around to see what had rolled with him-
Logan understood why everyone was so quiet as dark grey eyes met violet.
Virgil scrambled up, fur on end as his eyes darted around. He squeaked when his vision caught MJ, turning to run off when Issac and Roman came out of the Pecha bush, confused by the lack of noise.
The dark furred Eevee looked for a non existent escape as Linda and Iris emerged, Patton squealing with joy as he spotted the wild pokemon. Virgil pressed up against Logan’s chest, fear most likely figuratively ripping his mind apart.
Logan tucked a paw around the smaller Eevee, sitting as he flicked his tail around him protectively. They were thankfully not near the center, though far enough the bushes looked miles away.
Thomas, who had watched the entire scenario, slowly stood up and made his to Logan and Virgil, before settling down about two feet away.
“Hey Virgil” The trainer couldn't help but smile, happy he was seeing the anxious Eevee once again. After leaving the field of flowers, he was scared that fate would not be kind and their paths wouldn't cross again. MJ, recognizing Thomas’ caution from when he himself first approached Elliott, joined a few inches behind the other.
Roman and Patton bounded up “Virgil!” Roman cried happily as Patton nuzzled their cheeks in greeting. He flinched, startled, but calmed with Patton's very soft fur.
"So.." MJ turned away from the chattering pile of Eevees to Thomas, who stared back confused
"You have attracted another Eevee" Thomas ducked his face into his hands, blushing.
Patton
Patton watched the sun set, Logan not that farther down the hill watching the rapidly darkening sky with excitement, a few bright stars already shining. The gang was taking a night in rolling open hills, soft grass and flowers lay blowing in a warm wind, one of the few trees around them shadowing Thomas as the trainer set up the tent, Roman some feet away scratching out a wide circle for a fire.
Patton tilted his head as the wind ruffled his fur, purring in the setting sun's warmth. These last few days had been so calm and nice. He approved of taking a break, they had been training hard for so long, a few days off wouldn't set them back.
He flicked his tail in content, listening to the flying types chirp their last goodbyes to the day, a few nocturnal pokemon already waking the night with quiet music of hoots and song-like whistles.
Somewhere near him, soft brushing of grass on fur caused him to open his eyes, glancing around. Logan was back with Roman and Thomas, the trainer  poking at the now lit fire. If it wasn't them, then who..
The light silver furred Eevee turned his head the other direction, his eyes catching another of special fur slightly crouching in the grass some distance away. Patton's eyes widen with joy, smiling as silver eyes met purple.
"Hey kiddo!" he cheered, Virgil hesitantly looked up at the rest of the group before making his way to Patton, flopping down next to, but not touching, the other Eevee.
It had been some time since they found that the dark furred Eevee ended up following them, a few more interactions strung between then and the current moment. Virgil had gotten a bit closer with the others, but was always gone before next sunrise, watching once again from the shadows.
Patton, knowing Vigil's shyness with engaging contact, flipped his over tail over the smaller and pulled him close, nuzzling the other's cheek. The Eevee shuffled in slight embarrassment but in the end cuddled back.
The two laid under the rapidly appearing stars, Patton feeling Virgil shift a bit away at one point but said nothing, just kept their tails intertwined. Logan had joined them at one point, cuddling up to Patton's side as stars reflected off his eyes, making no comment as the sky stole once more his star transfixed gaze.
A shuffle of feet made Patton tiredly blink, slowly turning his head as Roman and a pajama wearing Thomas approached the trio.
The trainer softly chuckled "c'mon guys, time for bed" Logan sent a death glare his was but Thomas just shook his head with more chuckling.
Patton turned his head to the darker Eevee "want to *yawn* join us kiddo?" the shiny Eevee stood, only to realize the other had been asleep as Virgil jolted awake, blinking tiredly at Patton.
Patton barely held in a squeal. Virgil was asleep! Next to him! He trusted Patton! The light silver Eevee frowned as the kiddo started to droop once more, before light grey ears perked up as he whipped around to Thomas, chirping a few times.
It took the trainer only a moment to understand before giggling. He kneeled slightly and picked up the limp Eevee, Virgil only whining a bit and pawing toward the ground. Thomas looked concerned before looking were Virgil was pointing, smiling.
"Hey Patt, I think Virgil was trying to make you a gift" Patton looked and sure enough, a half built blue, pink, and white flower crown lay in the grass, one of the end flowers squished as Virgil fell asleep on top.
Patton grinned with joy and carefully picked the strand up, walking back up to the campsite.
The fire was now extinguished, water and burnt wood mush stood in its place. Patton laid the half finished flower crown near the stick Thomas used to poke at it before following the trainer in the tent.
Thomas held Virgil close as he scooted into his sleeping bag, Eevees flopping on top almost immediately.
Roman curled up next to his left ear, shoulder now his pillow. Logan settled down on Thomas' waist, Patton curling up with him as his tail tip brushed Virgil's, the dark Eevee laying right in the center of Thomas' chest.
Thomas smiled as purrs erupted in his ear from his Eevees (thanks Roman, that's quite LOUD) hugging Virgil a little closer before sleep fell upon the human.
Thomas blinked awake, finding some weight off his chest.. literally.
He sat up, Eevees already fallen to the ground in vibrating puddles that night, and stood, carefully making his way out of the tent.
He emerged in the early dawn light, blinking away the tiredness as the sun rose above the horizon. Early bird pokemon unknowingly chirped a morning greeting, bushes rusted in the not to far off forest as pokemon skittered for food. Though that wasn't what grabbed the trainer's attention.
Virgil lay bathed in morning sunlight, tying the final blue flower into last night's flower crown. The Eevee glanced up startled but hesitant, purple eyes worried as he stood, a paw stepping back. Thomas understood, not yet.
He smiled at the Eevee "I'll make sure Patton gets it" Virgil stood frozen before relaxing, hesitantly letting out a "thank you" and "goodbye" chirp, before dashing off, fur at ease.
Thomas smiled and delicately picked up the small crown, inspecting the colors. Patton would absolutely adore it.
Though as Thomas went back to the tent, he could of sworn somewhere he read Eevee had an evolution with these colors..
Roman

Thomas flopped onto the soft grass, staring at the small fire as flicks of flame disappeared off into the night. Roman laid dramatically over the trainers outstretched legs, mumbling tiredly in Eevee. Thomas couldn't blame him though, same going for the two shinies who joined Roman, sprawling across his kneecaps.

They had been training hard all day, exhaustion had been inevitable. From wild pokemon battles, to targets and even between each other, the three Eevees had pushed far into training mode for their next challenge, their next adventure.

The next town was about half a day away, so camping out was the best option. With the low energy though, Thomas could probably lay down right here in the grass and pass out with ease.

A rustle in the bushes made him look up, confused. A smile overtook his face though, as familiar violet eyes poked through. Roman, who was facing that direction, perked up, his chocolate brown tail swishing with joy as a familiar dark brown Eevee poked his head fully out carefully, inspecting the clearing they picked.

"Hey kiddo" Thomas murmured sleepily, failing to stiffen a yawn. "Wanna join the cuddle pile?" he offered.

Virgil looked curiously at their pile as though considering, before ducking back into the bush. Thomas slightly frowned sadly, Roman's tail slowly drooping in disappointment as Patton let out a chirp.

Thomas sighed, about to turn back to the burning wood when the bush shook once more, catching all their attention.

Virgil's tail came into view first as the Eevee back tracked, pulling something by his teeth. Thomas stared, eyes wide.

The Eevee pulled the huge leaf a couple of feet away from the gang, turning his back to enormous pile of Oran berries.

"Did.. did you pick these for us?" Thomas asked, amazed.

Virgil ducked his head in embarrassment as he nodded, chirping something to the other Eevees. Roman suddenly sprang up and chipped something back, walking up to the darker furred pokemon, placing a small lick on Virgil's head before moving to drag the Oran berry pile closer.

Patton and Logan chirped gratefully as they grabbed two, Thomas smiling as he poked one on a stick to toast over the fire.

Roman watched Virgil shuffle his paws awkwardly, glancing curiously with those wonderful eyes.

"Hey Virgil, you can have one if you want" Roman offered, only for the Eevee's ears to droop.

"I've already eaten" he murmured, only to be betrayed by a quiet gurgle from his stomach. Roman hesitated, not wanting to discomfort the other.

".. I ate a bit earlier myself, we could possibly split and share one?" Roman shyly offered, causing the violet eyes to widen.

"I couldn't, it's your.." he hesitantly looked down for a moment, before lifting his head up a bit, looking right into Roman rich brown eyes "are you sure?"

Roman grinned, picking up the largest Oran berry before carefully draping his tail over the others back, leading him a bit closer to the fire. As they settled Roman used his claws, slicing their berry in half (and perhaps giving Virgil the larger piece).

And if anyone noticed Virgil cuddling Roman as the night wore on, only waking and leaving when the lighter of the pair stirred at sunrise, no one said a thing.

FamILY

Water droplets sparkled as they dripped off the leaves above, soaking up into the group's hair and fur. The early morning sky drifted blue with scattered clouds, hints of the rain showers from last night only shown by the damp plants around and slightly muddy earth.
Thomas laughed as Roman froze, water once again dripping onto his chocolate fur. The Eevee whined, only for Logan to lean on his back feet, standing up from where he lay on Thomas' messenger bag and slap Roman in the face, effectively shutting the other up with a splutter.
They stayed the night in a cave, setting up the tent inside as it started to show signs of a heavy storm approaching by sunset, the light sprinkle from earlier growing heavier as the clouds darkened.
The cave wasn't the biggest, more of a deep hole as it only fit the tent with two feet of coverage before rain splattered in your face, but it's entrance raised a few inches off the ground, giving them safety from a wet tent. They didn't need to stay that long anyways, only staying the night to escape being wet, the next town merely an hour or two journey.
Thomas smiled, but a dark hint shown through as something bothered him. He had called out several times before bed, informing Virgil he could join the warm cuddles inside, but the Eevee never showed. Worry traced his mind, only hoping he found a sheltered enough spot.
He brushed Patton's fur, the Eevee chirping with a nuzzle to the cheek. The trainer giggled, Logan shifting back to laying down, content. Virgil would be alright, he was wild. The Eevee must have gone through this kind of experience befo-
Roman sat up on Thomas' shoulder, startling him. The Eevee's ears were pricked, nose twitching as he caught something.
"Roman, what- hey!" Thomas spluttered as a tail smacked his face, Roman ignoring the wet grass and mud as he leapt off Thomas without warning, bolting off back in the directions they just came from.
Thomas secured a hand on both remaining Eevee's backs to enforce they didn't fall with the sudden change, before turning and rushing after his starter.
They didn't have to go far before spotting the Eevee anxiously pacing circles, perking up at the sight of Thomas before diving into the bushes, chirping from the other side.
"Roman, what's going on- buddy.." he fought through the bushes, Patton and Logan calling out in distress as Thomas sucked in a harsh breath, kneeling down next to the grounded Eevee's.
Roman licked Virgil's forehead, the smaller barely opening his eyes in pain and exhaustion before closing, letting out a relieved huff and relaxing as if only now feeling safe.
The dark furred Eevee's fur was dirty, his limbs weak and thoroughly soaked to the bone. Scratches were in several places as though he recently fought in a battle, the latest being from yesterday.
Thomas' didn't hesitate to check and sure enough his forehead was warm, to warm. Glazed eyes stared up as raspy breaths labored from his mouth, trust within exhaustion.
"I-I'm sorry Virge, I need to get you straight to a Pokemon Center" he lifted the Eevee, Roman leaping forwards to get scooped up as well, cuddling up to the sick pokemon.
He felt Logan move up to where Roman sat before, nodding in the corner of Thomas' vision. They were ready to set off.
And with that, Thomas ran.
Thomas speed walked through the streets, nearly bumping into others as he kept glancing down at Virgil. The Eevee had curled up against Thomas chest, Roman curling around the other giving occasional comforting licks.
"Hey!" Thomas stumbled as he nearly crashed into someone turning a corner, the other jumping to the side before collision.
"Sorry!" He called back half turning around to the girl, the Fraxure in her arms wide eyed. He only saw her and the pokemon give a started look at the Eevees in his arms before Thomas turned back around and dashed off, Pokecenter now in sight.
The automatic doors nearly caught his arm as he entered, rushing through the mostly empty entrance up to the Nurse Joy.
"Please help" he gasped having not stopped once, carefully setting Virgil down. Joy's eyes widened before calling out a stroller, two Chansey pushing it out.
"Don't worry, we'll take good care of Eevee" the Joy comforted, joining her pokemon by the ER door. "Virgil" Thomas managed, voice a somewhat raspy whisper "his name is Virgil." The Nurse nodded.
"Virgil will be fine" she smiled, turning away and closing the door, a bright neon red "Do Not Enter" lighting up above the doorway. Thomas took in a shuddering breath, the Eevees each nuzzling Thomas' face from their spot.
Thomas gave out a small, strangled laugh "thanks guys."

DISCORD THREAD | EEVEE X VULCAN:
feat: @eeveecrmchl & @ellisvulcan
summary: eevee finds an old shirt at v’s place and wigs out simp style.
Eevee: It’s almost three am and for once, Eevee is sober and is actually aware of where her car is — currently on its way to V’s place. The drive there is familiar and she’s hit with the nostalgia of when she’d do this before. It doesn’t take long until she’s pulling up to his street and parking by the sidewalk. Hoodie wrapped around her, Eevee realizes that she should have changed rather than drive off the moment she’s given permission to stay over. Her steps echo through the silent neighborhood along with the knocks she delivers on his door even if it’s already slightly ajar. “Vulcan?” The wind is cold on her legs and Eevee is definitely regretting not putting on more clothing. “It’s, uh, Eevee.”
Vulcan: “Chevie, come on. You can wait somewhere else, you’re going to startle mommy if you wait by the door.” No response. It’s obvious who’s the pomeranian’s favorite is, Vulcan’s not complaining though. He did leave Eevee’s place an hour before since he needed to open up his repair shop in a few hours. He went to the kitchen while the dog still stayed there to get himself a bottle of water. Not long after he hears Eevee’s voice followed by a small bark, then there is Chevie running up to him. “I know, bud. I heard the door.” He chuckles as he walks to the living room. He was immediately surprised by what she was wearing. “Hello, baby. See what I’m talking about?”
Eevee: Eevee bends to pick up the Pomeranian and makes her way to the living room. It doesn’t escape her notice how domestic this all is and while she’s usually not one for monogamy — or any type of relationship really after him — she can’t help but relax into this role. “It’s not my fault he loves me more,” she points out, cradling the puppy in her arms. Eevee gives him a few more belly rubs before setting him down. Even if they’ve shared her bed before, she’s come to realize they’ve never actually discussed sleeping arrangements at his place. “Uh I can take the couch? I don’t want to fuck up your sleep schedule since you have work in the morning and we both know I’m not gonna let you go once your alarm rings.”
Vulcan: "I was going to say I can't blame Chevie for loving you more, like father, like son, right?" A light chuckle escapes his lips as he watches her cradle the dog in her arms. It's been so long ever since Eevee last stepped foot in his house and he couldn't believe she's here again. He's never put away her things even though he broke up with her, he just couldn't bring himself to do it. He even argued with the girls he's brought home with him if they ever dared to touch her things. "No, you're not taking the couch, baby. Come on--get settled in bed, okay? And I don't mind waking up later than my usual time. I'm turning my alarm off for today, so we can get the sleep we both need." He walks over to her and kisses the top of her head. "Spend the rest of the day with me?"
Eevee: “Simp,” the term holds an affectionate note even if Eevee denies ever being one. Rather than argue — and truth be told she was hoping for his answer anyway — she takes his hand and guides them to the direction of his bedroom, already knowing where to go from memory. “No, don’t do that for me. You have to work. I can sit around and help -- or uh give you moral support. I don’t have plans tomorrow anyway.” Eevee’s pretty sure she doesn’t have class but she’s brought a couple of pills to keep her busy for hours anyway while V worked. That and she barely goes to the class she’s thinking of since attendance isn’t mandatory. “Watch it, Ellis, you keep wanting to spend your day with me, I’m going to start thinking you actually want me around,” she teases. Dropping his hand to strip herself of her hoodie, she leans in to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. “Come on, looks like you’re tired. The drive kind of woke me up so it’ll take me a while to knock out, but you need rest.”
Vulcan: "My body's used to waking up on a certain time, baby. The alarm's just my little contingency plan." Vulcan is honestly just looking forward to spend the day with Eevee even when he's going to on his repair shop. "I do like having you around, makes any day better." He just shrugs at her blonde, watching her while she takes her hoodie off. "Clothes right there, baby. Need to make sure you're always warm." He sits down on the edge of the bed. "I'm not tired, maybe only a little. I do sleep better with you, you know that?"
Eevee: The laughter that escapes her isn’t meant to be mocking but Eevee can’t help but point out the fact that Vulcan truly is an old soul. “Baby, are you Benjamin Button? Is that what’s happening here?” She shoots him a thankful smile, walking towards the drawers to borrow a comfier shirt. Upon opening one at random, she’s hit with the sight of old band tshirts she thought she’d never see again. Lifting one, she turns to face him, not counting on tears to form at how full her chest feels. “You kept these,” she hugs it close to her. “Why did you keep these?”
Vulcan: When he broke things off with Eevee, Vulcan still kept her things at his home. It was hard for him to accept during those times that she's out of his life, thinking that they would never cross paths again after her father did everything in his power to split them. There was just some form of comfort not putting her things away. Maybe part of him was hoping that they'd eventually get back together, without the interference of her father. "They kept me close to you, in a way." He looks down at his hands for a moment before looking back up at her. "Any part of you is really important to me. I--I never really stopped thinking about you, about us. I didn't--I really didn't want to leave, Eevee...."
Eevee: Eevee notices that she’s practically white knuckling the fabric. Her chest feels like it isn’t expanding right; it’s getting hard to breathe. The whole time they were apart Eevee felt like the whole relationship was a scam, that it meant more to her than to him. Seeing this now, she’s caught off balance and while she doesn’t firmly believe him on his story, she can’t deny that this means something. Wordlessly, she puts the shirt back in the drawer. It takes her a moment but she’s moving towards him, legs quickly straddling his hips, hands cupping his face so she could look at him dead on. “I haven’t stopped loving you,” is what comes out first and it surprises her but the admission comes from months of denial. “Whenever I tried to find someone —,” and with this her voice breaks. “ — no one came close. Not at all.” She offers him a shaky smile, tears free falling now. Eevee has never been one for sentiments, has always shied away from talking about what hurt, but here, with him, it feels like she owes it to herself to come to terms with it. “I didn’t even hate you for what you did. I couldn’t. I had to talk myself out of begging you back so many fucking times.” Those were the bad days, the ones where alcohol couldn’t numb the pain and the drugs did nothing but remind her that she no longer had someone that gave her a natural high. “I love you, Vulcan. As stupid as it is, as scary as it fucking is, I love you.” She looks away from a moment, tries to blink away the moisture. “At one point I thought I was going to marry you.” Her head shakes at the memory but she manages to focus her attention back to him. “A lot has changed. But what I’m sure of — the only fucking thing I’m sure of — is that my feelings for you haven’t.”
Vulcan: The day he broke it off with Eevee, Vulcan was in a level of this excruciating pain that nothing could ever take it away. He drowned himself with work at the repair shop and the underground fight club--God, that fight club. He got so much into his fight that day they broke up that he ended up being concussed after the fight and managed (or tried to) to take care of himself for at least two weeks. Nothing could ever take that pain away, even a part of him tried to look for something worse that it. "I...I was in a downward spiral after that." He couldn't tell her about his night job, at least not yet. That was something they're bound to talk about later on. "I wanted to take it back, I wanted to....to get you back. But I was terrified. I'm still terrified, Eevee. But I can't live this life without you anymore." He rests his forehead against hers, wiping her tears away. He doesn't even realize a few tears escaping his eyes. "I love you, Eevee. I--I never stopped loving you." He admits. He cannot imagine spend the rest of his life with anyone else. "I don't want to be away from you, not anymore. You're the only one I need, Evelyn Carmichael."
Eevee: Forehead against her own, Eevee lets his words wash over her. There’s nothing else they could do about it. The year has passed, they’ve been separated and now, the only option is to find their footing once again. “Vulcan Ellis, you won’t ever lose me,” she presses the words onto his lips like a promise. The sea salt taste of tears remind her of their state and so she pulls back to wipe his tears the way he did with hers. “Fuck we’re such simps,” she lets out a shaky laugh. “We’ll be fine, V. Whatever happens, we’ll be fine.” She looks back towards the drawers, head tilt in curiosity at just what else he’s managed to keep. He’s braver than her, she figures. She couldn’t have anything that’s set as a reminder of what they were without reaching for he nearest bottle. Sighing, she pushes herself off of the man, legs shaky as they were pressed against the bed the whole time. She pulls her camisole over her head, goes to get the shirt she found, and puts it on. Eevee pushes V back onto the mattress so she can lay on his side, head on his chest. “Hey,” she pokes his cheek. The night feels lighter; she feels lighter. “You should go to sleep. You still have work tomorrow.”
Vulcan: Vulcan only realized that he was also crying when Eevee did the same, wiping his tears away. "So you admit it now, baby? You're a simp too?" Vulcan grins playfully, teasing the other in attempt to lighten the mood. "We'll be fine..." He takes her hand and kisses the tattoo once more, looking at her lovingly. He never thought he'd be able to have her close like this ever again. But seeing her for the first time in a year at Landon's apartment....That's when he realized he should've fought for her from the very start. He watched the musician walk up to his closet with a smile, changing into a shirt he's never seen her in forever before he was pushed back into his bed, his arm finding its way around her shoulder, holding her close. "As long as I get to wake up with you?"
Eevee: Eevee rolls her eyes at his attempt but she humors him anyway. "I never said that. You're the simp. Don't get it twisted here." Heart flutters at the lips on her tattoo, the small act of which meaning more than he would ever know. She was warned that getting something permanent about another person was a foolish endeavor and was proven so when he left, but after a while, she grew to accept that no matter what, Vulcan has and always will be an important part of her life under any ciruc, stance. Nuzzling in close, she lets herself relax in his arms, content in a way that she's too terrified to think too much about. "We both know you're the one that's going to wake up first, you oldie, so yes, you get to wake up with me," she points out. "Now go to sleep. You have work in the morning." // END

SilveeLocke | Let's Go Eevee ZombieLocke | Pt. 5
♡♡♡
Part 5: Team Who?
♡♡♡
>Next Part
>Previous Part
>Part 1
>Meet Silviana
>Meet Xander
The nurse came back with a little brown pokémon in her hands. Looking to the little girl that was standing eagerly at the counter. She smiled softly, "Your pokémon is alright dear, it was only exhausted. A quick heal did wonders for her." The nurse let go of Junipur and the Eevee jumped gracefully from her arms.
"Oh Junipur," Silviana breathed, "I'm sorry I got carried away," she went to put Junipur's hat back on, "I should have helped you more with that ba–"
Junipur jumped off the counter without a glance at Silviana.
"Junipur... I," Silviana watched as the Eevee headed toward the door, "Thank you ma'am," she waved to the nurse who returned it with a smile. She followed Junipur out of the building where the little pokémon sat down on a large stone outside of the building.
Silviana clutched Junipur’s hat tightly.
She shook her head. Don’t cry, don’t cry. There’s no reason to. Everyone is fine now. Everything is… “Junipur.”
Junipur turned her head away.
“There’s probably nothing I can say that will comfort you, so we should just get going.” Silviana placed Junipur’s cap on and began to walk in the direction of Mt. Moon. She didn’t hear anything for a second, but the little patter of Junipur’s footsteps told her that she was following. Silviana sighed internally to herself.
◇◇◇
Walking into Mt. Moon, the air smelled just as musty as the Gym in Pewter did. Silviana blinked a couple times to adjust herself to the darkness of the cave, as she did, she could see the faint round outline of a boulder, except this boulder moved, and was pink! The Chansey bounced along with it’s tiny white egg in its front pouch.
Silviana was about to go and catch it when she heard voices. The Chansey startled and took off when the sharp tone of a woman came from further in the cave.
“This disgusting cave is ruining my hair!”
“Come on Jesse, the Boss said that we had to get a fossil sample for his next phase of work to start!” The second voice whined.
“Just so long as we can get in and out as quickly as possible.”
Silviana waited behind a boulder until the sound of their footsteps faded. She let out a breath she didn’t know she had been holding.
Why am I hiding, it’s just people out on their Journey just like me. Maybe people like those that I battled outside the cave.
She felt Junipur hop onto her shoulder from where she squatted behind the rock. The little pokémon was still not looking at her. With a soft sigh she continued on into the cave. Staying as quiet as she could so she wouldn’t disturb any of the pokemon in the cave, Silviana searched once again for the Chancey she had seen earlier. The cave seemed to be like a maze but much smaller than the forest, Silviana noted. She thanked whatever brilliant person dug out this tunnel.
She walked around until she spotted movement off to her left. Along with the movement came the same two odd voices she heard from earlier. She ducked behind another portion of the rock wall.
“James!” The woman that was called Jesse screeched.
“Ah! And it was so close!” The man named James yelled back.
“Gosh, with all the time we’ve spent in here you’d think we would be able to catch one pokémon while we were looking for this fossil!” Silviana heard a rock hit a wall.
“Well let’s just get some other twerp’s pokémon. It’s always been easier to steal them that way.”
Silviana’s eyes grew wide. Practically knocking off Junipur from her shoulder, she rushed out onto the used pathway of the cavern.
“Hey! What do you think you’re planning to do with those pokémon you steal!” She furiously shouted. Both people startled. The man had short blue hair and the woman long red hair that stuck together in a weird point. Silviana wondered how she got her hair to do that.
“Ah! James quick, do something!” Jesse grabbed the man by the shirt and pulled him in front of her.
James pulled out a pokéball and a big purple pokémon came floating out. He shouted a command at it, “Wheezing use smokescreen!”
“Wheez–” The pokémon cried. As it did, dark smoke erupted from the craters in it’s two heads.
Silviana covered her face with her arms as the smoke came shooting at her. Although she kept her eyes shut tight they stung from the poison gas. She used one hand to fan the smoke away as best she could, coughing as the gas scratched the inside of her lungs. When she looked up, tears flooded the bottom of her vision and she was barely able to see the long red hair of the woman going down a hole in the floor.
It took a second for Silviana to regain her senses and wipe the tears flowing from her eyes. When she was finally done coughing, she looked over to the hole. Junipur was staring down over the edge.
Silviana walked over and noticed that there was a wooden ladder leading further down the hole.
“This place goes deeper?” She slumped her shoulders and sighed, “C’mon Junipur.”
◇◇◇
The deep, dark, mugginess of the cave filled her senses. And although her eyes had adjusted to the darkness, there still seemed to be a dark fog that clung to the lowest floor of the cavern. She had gone down another ladder after walking down a thin tunnel. Many Geodude had dug themselves into the wall and Zubat hung down from the ceiling. Silviana had snuck past them without worry, but it was getting harder down below in the third level.
Down here, many pokémon floated around, and the more curious ones followed her. Silviana grew to like these little floating balls of rock. Silviana smiled as the Geodude that followed her quacked happily as they listened to her talk.
Silviana laughed.
Wait.
Silviana wasn’t laughing. The laughing was coming from up ahead.
“Why thank you for gathering all of these delightful pieces of gravel for us.” A woman’s voice snickered.
“Yes. These will make a delightful gift to our Boss when we reveal the fossils that are inside of them.” A male voice said.
“So prepare for trouble,” Jesse came from around the corner.
“And make it double,” James came from around a corner opposite of her, he held a rose in one hand.
“Well I don’t care what kind of trouble you two are causing,” she interrupted, “you are not getting these–”
Something kicked up the dust behind her. She turned around and the Geodude were all trapped in a net being held by a Persian.
“Great job Meowth! Now take them away!” Jesse pointed further down the cave.
The Persian, Meowth, jumped from where it was perched above her. It bounded down the tunnel out of her sight.
“Hey! They don’t belong to you!” Silviana began to chase after them, but the same pokémon that James had sent out earlier blocked her path. Silviana clenched her jaw, remembering that she also had a pokémon of her own, she threw her arm out at the Wheezing and shouted, “Junipur go! Break through!”
She felt Junipur on her shoulder, and saw the little brown pokémon bound down her arm. Junipur took a flying leap at the Wheezing. The big purple balloon pokémon gave a cry, but Junipur was faster.
“Vee-VEE!” Junipur had landed on the Weezing and pushed off. The big pokémon flew back into the cavern walls and Junipur went flying in a multitude of colors for a split second.
Silviana stared wide eyed at the attack.
She’s never done that before. Where did that...
Silviana had barely caught it, but she felt the emotion that Junipur put into the attack. The emotion that Junipur felt about… Me.
“Oh no! Wheezing!”
James’ cry shook her from her thoughts. She rushed forward now that the way was clear, she looked down to see Junipur running alongside her. She rushed by a somewhat distressed James and headed in the direction the Geodude went.
Silviana slid on the gravel as she rounded the second corner. She tried to slow her heart as she listened for any sound of the stolen pokémon, Junipur seemed to be doing the same. Silviana saw her flick her ears back and forth.
Crick-clack! “Oh shoot!”
There.
“Junipur get on my shoulder.” The Eevee jumped up without hesitation.
Silviana slunk toward the noise. Up on a small ledge was a dark figure crouched over something. Using the shorter ledges behind the stranger, Silviana snuck up to them with Junipur on her shoulder. She pulled out her two other pokéballs. She released Trahp.
“Trahp get them!” The floating yellow pokémon threw out its vines and wrapped the stranger tightly.
Lifting him up and turning him around, a skinny, short and scruffy haired man looked back at her through round glasses. He had on dark clothes and Silviana could see a big red mark on his shirt. The young man was looking at her with wide scared eyes.
“What happened to the Geodude!” She marched close to him.
He looked back and forth, “I didn’t take them I swear! I was just sent here to pick up any fossils there could be around here!” He struggled in Trahps vines.
“Junipur watch him…” Silviana looked past him at what he tried to pick up from the ground earlier. There were two odd shaped rocks on the ground. Silviana picked up the one that had an odd swirl on it. She adjusted her glasses to get a better look.
Wow this looks really cool.
She heard the sound of a pokéball opening. Turning around she came face to face with a Voltorb. She looked at the man, he had swiveled his hand to grab a pokéball in his pocket. She looked back at the Voltorb barely hearing what the man said when she opened up the only other pokémon she had on her.
The Voltorb sparked and everything seemed to be going in slow motion around her.
Steng emerged from the pokéball in a bright red light. His hard-shelled body coming between Silviana and the attacking Voltorb. She saw Steng glow from the lightning of the attack as she stumbled backwards, tripping over the other fossil, and shielding her eyes.
She landed on the floor with a grunt. When she looked again Steng’s hard shell was blackened from the strike.
“Oh no.” Silviana gently shook her head and reached out to touch the blackened pokémon. The black-shocked husk tipped onto the floor and rolled to reveal the emptiness of the hollow shell.
I killed him! I killed–
Buzzing erupted. She looked up to see the Voltorb sparking again, she could see behind it Junipur was battling a Magnemite while Trahp still had a hold of the strange boy. He watched as his two pokémon attacked hers.
The buzzing grew louder, but Silviana was confused. Electricity doesn’t make that kind of buzzing…
A fast yellow blur struck at the Voltorb, the red and white ball went flying and crashed into the Magnemite. Both pokémon crashed into a stalagmite. The boy that Trahp was holding began to whimper, but Silviana was focused on the massive Beedrill in front of her. Softly it landed, its wings shimmered and it’s three prominent stingers shined just as much.
“S-Steng?” Silviana reached out a shaky hand. The pokémon looked at her with its red eyes. Although Silviana knew this was the little yellow cocooned pokémon she picked up in the forest, it was something about the antennae and eyes that threw the young girl for a loop.
She pulled back her hand. Steng took a couple steps back. Great now I hurt his feelings. She gave a soft but defeated sigh and pulled him into his pokéball. She got up and dusted herself off. She looked at the cracked fossil she had tripped over. At least he can’t have it now. Oh right… Him.
Silviana turned her glare to the struggling boy in Trahp’s vines, “If you ever dare to try something for your nasty corporation again,” she kicked his shin that was floating slightly above her own, he yelped, “your going to feel much worse pain than that.” She nodded to Trahp and the pokémon let go. Silviana grabbed him by the scruff of his shirt, “And don’t ever think aobut attacking my pokémon... ever again.”
The stranger just nodded and landed on his rear when Silviana let go. She gave him one final glare and pulled her pokémon back into their pokéballs. She bent down and helped Junipur onto her shoulder, the little Eevee growled until they had turned a corner and were out of sight.
Silviana walked until they found another ladder, leading up this time, and put one hand on it. Then collapsed on her knees. She took deep breaths to try to calm her beating heart. Junipur just looked at her suspiciously.
“Oh my god! I can’t believe I did that!” She looked at Junipur, “Ha! And did you see his face! I was so intimidating!” She made a fist with her hand and laughed. She climbed up the ladder still giggling to herself.
Two more ladder levels and the opening to the outside was right in front of her. She took a deep breath and smiled at the smell of fresh grass.

Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness review under the cut
So Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness is a sequel to Colosseum. It was in fact the second direct story sequel in the entire franchise, the only other one being GSC at the time. While I do prefer Colosseum's more realistic proportions and designs, XD does at least finally attempt to make full use of the Gamecube's graphics by polishing up character models, enhancing towns, enhancing moves, and going for deeper expression in new environments.
Also. Y'know. It's a sequel. That means new story, which I think is the most important part of the game since other than towns, wild pokemon and new Shadow pokemon and moves, there isn't much else new.
So, right off the bat you are a teenager with wild hair living in a facility with your Eevee and family that is dedicated to solving the Shadow Pokemon Crisis. You are given a Snag Machine and a device that can scan Shadow pokemon. That's right. No more cute red heads accompanying you to each town. YOU are YOUR OWN RED HEAD THAT SEES THINGS. Because you have a Scouter.
Anyway Cipher is back and you essentially go through town to town stopping their antics. Tbh the story is kind of generic for a pokemon game, save for key moments that are Orre tradition over the top. It feels a tad goofy until the last stretch, I feel.
However XD makes use of subtle story telling, while to a lesser degree, to really show off how messed up Cipher is: a factory dedicated to mass production of Shadow Pokemon, and trainers having more than one Shadow Pokemon. Greevil has an entire TEAM of them.
I feel like XD is unique in that it straddles the line between traditional JRPG like Colosseum and traditional Pokemon games like DPPt. It's special in it's own way and certainly good and mechanically a VAST improvement over Colosseum, but Colosseum's story I feel starts off with a literal bang and just never stops the wild ride. XD is good but the story is a bit goofier like DP or X and Y and feels like I've played it before.
Like I said, I enjoyed the story. It just feels a tad too safe.
Colosseum is difficult because it gives you a limited amount of Pokemon to work with, each with their own specific strategies. XD almost doubled that going from 48 to 86 Shadow Pokemon, not to mention a few more Pokemon found in Pokespots or other means that really brings the total around 100 obtainable Pokemon or more.
That isn't to say that XD isn't difficult. Shadow Pokemon have been revamped and are stronger than ever. Especially at the end where you start encountering 2 or 3 to a team. They are basically super effective to everything and have new attacks besides Shadow Rush, some of which are WAY stronger and absolute nightmares to deal with in combinations with other Shadow Pokemon.
Another way it's difficult are the level spikes that happen out of nowhere. MT Battle isn't even a good grind hub anymore because it too also has these. Its honestly better to just fight the optional trainer fights to level up this time around.
Also there's less Colosseums to train with and earn money from. Up until the post game there's only 2 vs Colosseum's 5, and even XD's third Colosseum isn't a traditional one but sort of psuedo battle tower esque. I guess it makes sense to drop the Colosseum from the title after that.
Now, some improvements are in order. It took me many years to get but I finally understood the Purifying Chamber, and let me tell you it is MILES better than the Relic Stone. You do need to understand types and get a good tempo going (there's some good online guides that I didn't have access to as a child) but once you have those going purification happens pretty quickly as you walk, and it can purify 9 Pokemon at a time. It's very efficient and takes a bit to get going, not to mention a fair bit of problem solving to figure out, but overall it's a welcome improvement over Colosseum's method. I was actually able to sit down and purify all 86 pokemon this time. I got bored around 14 in Colosseum. My one change would be to let me purify from any PC.
Another improvement includes a wider array of team combos and the ability to CATCH WILD POKEMON. Albeit, I kind of got annoyed by the alarm going off every 2 minutes just for Munchlax to steal my food, but there's some goodies here including Trapinch and Phanby. Trapinch of course gives you Flygon but Donphan is surprisingly helpful as a wall to catch Shadow Pokemon or restore HP. This of course also leads to trades by Duking (who is... Australian now for some reason?) who will offer you specific pokemon for your specific pokemon
Something I will say is a bit of a downgrade are the character designs. Now the MC doesn't look too bad, but his eyes, nose, and teeth feel very off for Pokemon and he's got noodle arms. Lovrina also has SEVERE noddles, Gonzap and goggle guy whose name I forget have gorilla arms, and overall it just feels like they tried too hard to make it cartoonish. Colosseum had n64 graphics, sure, but the designs were more on par with something you might find in Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts and that works rather well for the edgy vibe they were going for. The animations are definitely improved, but the design needs work.
Another downgrade I think is more of a mixed bag. Miror B returns in all his funky glory with a vengeance and is actually IMPROVED from the last game, and actually serves the purpose of giving you second chances with Shadow Pokemon. Unlike Colosseum that sort of scrunched everyone in the Snagem base or hides them in Pyrite Cave, Miror B will appear in a random location you can track with a radar. Now I love fighting this glorious bastard for this theme song alone, but it is a bit tedious having to WAIT for him to show up again. I'd rather there be a system that helps you locate the missing Pokemon and their locations rather than jump attacks or waiting around.
Also... the scooter. I know he's like 14 or something but cmon. You can't give me a one wheeled gigantic engine motorcycle and then give me a scooter. That's just rough.
I think as a personal nitpick I'll also say the music in XD is quicker to get tedious. Now, there's a lot of bangers, but to compare it again to Colosseum, there's a certain edge missing. I think it may be the more orchestral focus this time around rather than a blend of guitar with orchestra. At least mostly everything made it in the games by the Colosseum fights, and even Willie has his theme song back. Undoubtedly the best music in the game though are Miror B's new theme and the goofy country Wild Pokemon theme.
One last nitpick is the focus on gen 1 and 3. Colosseum was really revolutionary because it did Johto justice and made so many forgotten pokemon viable again. XD puts more focus on Gen 1 and 3 which isn't terrible? But it does feel strange since a lot of the pokemon you could catch in XD you could also easily find in FRLG or RSE.
Something I will definitely praise it for is the teasing of Bonsly and Munchlax. By now we're miles beyond gen 4, but during this time in gen 3 this was an incredible sneak peak at what's coming up. Official pokemon games don't even do this.
For all of my nitpicks I had a very fun time with this game. I do have to say I wasn't feeling as sad completing it as I did Colosseum, but but that's also because I wanted to hurry up and pit these two teams against each other in Battle Revolution to see who is stronger.
Its Team XD, definitely. Mainly because Colosseum was built to give you less with very specific functions for each particular Pokemon you snag. XD gives you a ton of freedom with the pokemon you use and are all quite powerful.
If I were to put it like this, Colosseum is my favorite of the two because it's not a traditional Pokemon game, rather it's a pokemon game that was turned into a traditional JRPG by Genius Sonority. XD is a good JRPG turned into a Pokemon game. If that makes sense.
Overall a decent 7.5/10. Better than Let's Go, not as good as Colosseum, BW or BW2, about on Par with SwSh without the controversy.
I think next I'll try Battle Revolution just to complete the Genius Sonority trilogy. There's not a story nor EXP, but I can mix and match my pokemon from both Colosseum and XD to give me an excuse to sort of examine the animations and models.
Spoiler alert: both are better and worse than SwSh.

Session 1-Tidepool Tower
Our first adventure began in a rather interesting fashion.
To start, one my friends surprised me by joining on, so her Eevee’s stats will have its own “Meet the Cast” post in the next coming days. Another friend couldn’t make it to last night’s session but will be in session 2, so if all of you are wondering why there’s no Haunter yet...he’ll have a rather hilarious introduction to the group for session 2.
It started with me reading the prologue found here and also playing a quick snippet of a song that...kind of acts as one of the themes of this series. The song in question is Dangerous by David Guetta ft. Sam Martin. I don’t remember if tumblr’s still weird about linking to music, but the main point of the song is:
“I don't know where the lights are taking us But something in the night is dangerous And nothing's holding back the two of us Baby this is getting serious
Oh oh oh-oh-oh Danger-Dangerous Oh oh oh-oh-oh (danger-dangerous)”
The rest of the session will be under a “read more” but to summarize quickly for those who can’t do dense reads: they survived their first dungeon, Tidepool Tower, although 1 of them had a truly epic fail, and another already fainted but was rescued by some helpful heroes. Who were they? Read on below:
Four heroes lay on a beach, sand embracing them and waves crashing not far away. The sun began its descent but still had a way to go. Everything was cast in shadow, especially from the giant porous rocks lining the shoreline. Slowly, four figures woke up with varying reactions. Two were calm, not moving much or frightened despite something being terribly wrong. One awoke in a panic, screaming about their newfound appearance. All of them, you see, had the vaguest of memories that they were all human once.
The two who were calm were Caesar, a Bulbasaur, and Vito, a Gible (who was also convinced everything was a dream, hence why he was so calm). The one who awoke in a panic introduced himself as Denki, a Dewott who then tried to meditate into a calmer state.
And lastly, the only one who awoke and then tried to scout the area was Sir Mixalot, a genderfluid Eevee whose pronouns of the week were He/Him/His.
In his scouting, Sir Mixalot discovered that an angry mob of Pokemon were descending upon the group’s location, and despite being a Bold nature who first tried to charge the incoming mob, realized they were too perilous of a group, and then boldly used his “Run Away” ability which prompted a minute of joking about the song “Brave Sir Robin” from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Caesar followed Sir Mixalot in running away, and after a brief delay from both Denki and Vito (who was convinced still that everything was a dream) they all ran away and got sucked up into their first Mystery Dungeon, Tidepool Tower.
Tidepool Tower, as I described it to the group, was a 4 Floor dungeon, with 3 actual floors of battle and 1 “rest” floor. The walls were of porous rock with slits of tide pools suspended almost like magic along the walls without spilling out, and a sandy floor.
Being the first to Run Away, Sir Mixalot was the first floor leader, and led the group on through the floor. His first encounter was with a Staryu in a battle drawn out due to Staryu’s use of Harden and everyone having issues hitting each other. Sir Mixalot did speed it up a bit by using the first Jump of the game (even though it was a fail and he took some bludgeoning damage) and having Caesar help him.
After that, the next encounter came from a Binacle that could have been avoided if the group didn’t go for a Stun Seed. That battle went faster, and then they moved on to the second floor.
The second floor didn’t have any enemies, but Caesar as floor leader found an Apple and a Max Elixir that was given to Vito. Then on the third floor is where the most trouble came.
Denki was floor leader then, and at first all seemed well until he went down a three direction tunnel blocked by a Mareanie. Denki, wanting the battle sped up, cleared a successful Jump, and had Vito join the battle against Mareanie, whose only known move at level 4 was Poison Sting. Both of their lucks ran out at that moment.
The first unfortunate bit of luck came from Vito being hit by Poison Sting, and failing his DC 10 HP Save against being Poisoned. Then, in his attempt to save Vito from fainting, Denki had the most hilariously awful series of rolls. For the next 4 rolls, Denki rolled 1-1-2-1 on four different sets of d20. Of course, after the last 1, Dan (my player for Denki) threw his dice bag on the floor and proceeded to kick it while the others had a major laughing fit.
Vito, unfortunately, did Faint during all of this despite Mareanie NOT having the ability Merciless, but after getting 3 successes, only had himself jettisoned out of the dungeon. This did make the group wonder where he went and what happened to him, but it didn’t take them long to find out.
Mareanie was eventually defeated without Denki or Sir Mixalot--who had to join in the battle after Vito fainted--being Poisoned. Denki tried to explore the floor more, but after seeing a Corsola in a room, went “fuck it” and ran off in the other direction with the group, Corsola chasing them all the way until they made it up the next staircase.
On the 4th “floor” the group made it to the top of the Tidepool Tower at sunset, with tide pools covering the porous rocks in front of them. The battle weary group could still hear the mob in the distance, but then, two Pokemon carrying the fallen and now revived Vito approached the group.
The first was a peppy Mudkip with an Australian accent, and the second was a world weary, sighing Shroomish who both introduced themselves as members of a mysterious Adventurer’s Club. They asked the group if they wanted to be saved from the mob and taken into the city, which the group eagerly agreed to.
The six then traveled until they reached the outskirts of the main city of the game, Crux Cove, and that is where we ended the session. They all leveled up to Level 6 after that ordeal, and in the next session they will get to visit the city and the Adventurer’s Club.

Pairing: Choi Saeran/Reader

His green eyes bore into your heart like nothing else, and his voice invaded your dreams every night. Who was he? Why did trouble follow him? All you knew was that you wanted to learn more about him. POKEMON AU!
Chapter Three | Chapter Four (Right Here!)
IV
"Appearance."
"What happened here?"
"I don't know, (Y/N). Whatever it is, I don't think it's good."
You weren't sure what you expected but part of the building being missing and a Professor on the ground trying to catch his breath in the midst of smoke was definitely not a good thing. It looked like a Pokemon had taken out the wall. You and Yoosung rushed into the scene when Professor Rowan composed himself, and stared at the building and then at the forest to his left. Something had happened and whatever it was wasn't good.
"Professor!"
His stern face was composed in spite of the chaos. "Oh, Yoosung, it's you, and a friend as well. I'm relieved to see someone. I need to alert Officer Jenny to this mess."
"What happened?" He asked, worried eyes staring at the scene.
"Mint Eye happened," the Professor let out a heavy sigh and looked wistfully towards the woods. "I'm sure you've seen the reports of these troublemakers popping up these past few weeks, well now they've gone and stolen the Pokemon that were prepared for you and the other young trainers. They ran off into the woods but Officer Jenny and her squadron haven't arrived yet."
You did a double take, "What?" you said. There was a group causing trouble in this region as well? You could remember when Team Rocket had caused white the mess in Kanto and you really didn't want to relive any of that mess.
"That means... I won't be getting my first Pokemon." Yoosung's shoulders slumped. It seemed like his hopes had been dashed.
"No way," you grabbed Yoosung's hand and give him a firm look in the eyes. "We're not letting a couple of bad eggs ruin somebody's journey. I don't care who they think they are. That's just not right. Yoosung and I will follow their tracks for you, Professor! We'll try to catch them before they escape!"
Rowan stared at you for a moment and sighed reluctantly. "If you think you can handle them, young lady, you are free to give chase. I don't have any assistants on hand right now, you're the only hope at the moment. Officer Jenny won't be here in time."
You didn't hesitate to run in the direction of the muddy tracks after those thieves that had taken something so precious.
"W-wait, (Y/N)!"
"C'mon, Yoosung!"
That was that.
The both of you had to stop these guys.
The forest surrounding the laboratory was filled with all kind of trees and thick brush, as well as Pokemon that they were holding for young trainers out on their own journies. These thieves had made a mistake though as their tracks could be followed. It leads both of you on a chase into deep beyond the trees and away from the building. it brought you to an impasse where there was a fork in the road. It wasn't clear which path they might have taken to get away from the lab, so you both stood there looking for a clue. You were both looking left and right for anything suspicious and fortunately, Yoosung caught the glimmer of something in the corner of his eye.
"H-hey, it's a Pokeball," Yoosung called. "It looks like it might have been from the lab."
You spun around and looked at him holding a Pokeball with a blue sticker on the front of it, wondering how it had wound up in the forest in the first place. You just didn't find something like that in the middle of nowhere. It had to be a clue to the missing starters if it was out here. "Why would a Pokeball be laying in the middle of the forest? That's really strange. Give it a toss, Yoosung, let's find out what it is."
Yoosung gave it a clumsy whirl and it popped open. A blue penguin stood there with perplexed eyes. It looked at you, and then it looked at Yoosung. "Pip! Piplup pip!"
You stared at the small penguin with a raised eyebrow.
"What the heck is that?" You asked Yoosung, knowing your Pokedex hadn't yet been updated for the Sinnoh region of Pokemon which left you relying on Yoosung, a native to the region, to tell you what you were seeing.
Yoosung looked down. "This is a Piplup. It's one of the Pokemon the Professor was holding for us. I can't believe these guys were careless enough to drop one of them after they nearly destroyed the lab to get all three of them. Hey buddy," he dropped down to his knee and patted the penguin on its head very gently to calm it. "You look like you're okay. Thank goodness for that. They must have been in their Pokeballs which is why they got away with them in the first place."
"They must be nearby then," you mused. "What do you think, Eevee?"
Eevee chirped back at you in agreement. "Eee Eevee vee!"
"Should we take this Piplup back to the professor?" he asked.
You shook your head. "No time for that, they might get away if we don't stay on their tail. But hey, since we found Piplup, we can split up! You can go that way and I'll go this way!"
Yoosung looked horrified at your suggestion. "You want us to split us now? I've never even had a battle before, Y/N, what if I run into these guys and they're super strong?"
"You want to get those other Pokemon back, don't you?" You countered his words. "You never know what you're capable of until you throw yourself on the fire, Yoosung. Even if you can't beat them, you can stall them long enough for Officer Jenny to catch up to us! If you want to be a great Pokemon trainer then you need to be ready for anything. Today is the day your journey begins, so you should take control of your destiny right now."
Yoosung looked down at Piplup with a nervous look in his eyes. "Well, what do you think about that, Piplup?" Piplup stared at him with perplexed eyes but gave a squeak in reply. The bird nodded it's head and seemed resolute. They seemed to have a conversation between both of themselves just like that, and with fire in their eyes, they seemed ready.
"Alright. You go that way and I'll go this way!"
It didn't take long for you to run into a shady figure. In fact, it was like the guy was waiting for you to show up and try to stop him. He was wearing a hooded cloak over his head that covered most of his face except for his mouth. His lips were curled into a wicked smirk as he leaned his back against a hollow tree and looked in your direction.
You kept your guard up as you approached and Eevee was one step behind you.
"I was wondering when someone was going to catch up to me," he sneered. "I figured it would have been the police but they would never have stood a chance. Instead, the Professor sends a little girl after me of all things to save the day. I should have known the man wouldn't give chase himself, what a shame, but at least you look like you have a real fight in you. I bet this is what you're looking for, isn't it?"
He lifted his hand and flashed two Pokeballs in your direction.
"That's right," you responded, keeping your eyes trained on him. "And you're going to give them, or else."
"Or else what, princess? That sounds like an empty threat." He retorted. He rested a hand against his hip and paid you no mind. "What will you do? Use your Eevee on me? What's it gonna do? Cute me to death?"
"You really shouldn't underestimate something because it looks cute. Eevee, use shadow ball!" Eevee didn't miss a beat and launched its attack at the dark figure. The ball of dark energy was sent soaring in his direction and smashed into the tree next to him. He simply moved out of the way and gave you another look, that smirk hadn't left from his face the entire time.
"Princess does have some fight, hahaha." he cackled. He reached underneath his cloak and went for his own Pokeball, but paused before as his fingertips touched the metal surface. "I suppose you could fight me for the Pokemon if you're that determined."
"Bring it on." You told him.
The Pokeball was sent whirling forwards and out sprang what appeared to be a dark type. "C'mon Zorua, let's teach this princess a lesson for trying to be a goody-goody," the man said, and his Pokemon looked back at him and then towards you and your Eevee with a determined glint. You hesitated, but Eevee rushed in front of you in a protective stance.
"Alright, Eevee. We can do this."
"Eevee! Vee vee!"
He thrust his hand forward and directed his Pokemon to attack. "Zorua, use foul play!"
Zorua snickered and boosted with dark energy. It flared to life and thrust in the direction of Eevee.
Eevee stared at the attack and waited for your command, which you threw out immediately. "Eevee, dodge and use swift!" you returned. The stars swirled to life and went back at Zorua. The attack barely managed to land a hit but it brushed against him. Zorua stumbled but held its ground.
"Zorua, use fury swipes on that Eevee!" The man didn't like that, and his temper grew as he was pushed back against the wall. Zorua listened and Eevee was struck before you could tell it to dodge. The battle would ensue for a few minutes as the both of you tried to give it your all against the other, and it proved to be nearly evenly matched. Every attack that landed seemed to do the same amount of damage to each Pokemon. They stumbled but they kept going. Eevee and Zorua continued to dance around the battlefield in a desperate battle.
"Y/N! Y/N! Y/N! Where are you? The guy I fought said the real thief ran in this direction that you came! I'm coming to help you!" Yoosung's voice suddenly broke through the area.
Your challenger grits his teeth and glared in the direction of the sound of the boy's voice. He didn't seem happy that someone else had come to bother him in the middle of a fight. "Ugh. I guess we'll have to finish our fight another time."
"Hey, wait a minute, you can't leave we had a deal!" You called at him as his back turned. "You said you'd give them back if I beat you in a fair battle, hold up your bargain!" Suddenly, the two Pokeballs were tossed in your direction and you managed to catch them with your fumbling fingers. You stared at them and then looked back in the direction of this stranger. He had just given them up? Why had he even tried to steal them if he was going to give them up to someone the minute he was inconvenienced?
"Don't throw a fit, princess. These things are more trouble than they're worth. I can get much better Pokemon for my Savior then those pitiful excuses for starters. Do what you want with those. I don't care."
"Savior? Is that the leader of your group?" You questioned. "What was the point in all of this?"
He chuckled. "Of course, you must not be from around here if you haven't a clue about us or my Savior. If you stay long enough you'll learn the truth about this world and why you should come over to our side of things. We'll meet again, I'm sure of it, princess."
"I hope not, Unknown."
With the toss of that nickname left in the air, this Unknown shrugged you off and headed into the forest before you could chase after him. The sound of Yoosung's voice was growing closer and you had what had been lost. Why chase after the guy since he had returned what he had taken? Officer Jenny and her crew would be after him soon enough. You clutched the Pokeballs and turned your back this scene. "Yoosung! You won't believe it, I got the Pokemon back!"

PMD: The Course of Everything-Chapter Four: The Path Home
Lyre seemed impatient.
Bayer found this odd: it had been Lyre who didn’t want to go in the first place, but now the Jolteon couldn’t seem to wait. The two were on a trail, less than an hour away from Wisteria Village, two days after they had agreed to go. Lyre had procrastinated in every way he could manage in the days before. First he had an important job to do, then he had to ask Verity and Claire permission, and then, he had to make sure they really were okay with it. Bayer started to think he would have to drag him by the ears to get there in time.
Now, Lyre trotted ahead of him, his legs too long for Bayer to keep up. Letting out grunts of irritation, he would pull back to walk beside his boyfriend, only to pull forward minutes later. Bayer would have found this endearing if he didn’t know the Jolteon had tried to kill someone.
He still found it hard to believe. Lyre had always disliked Harper, and Bayer knew it was justified; she had been a cause of his injuries, and a coward(in Lyre’s words). But, as he looked into the glimmering green gaze of the Pokemon beside him, Bayer found it hard to believe he was capable of that kind of violence. Lyre had confessed to it himself though. Bayer forced the chills rising in his fur down.
Harper was a rock type, and the gorge was deadly, and her body had been found. Every sign pointed to her being dead. Bayer had to believe otherwise, for his own sake. If she wasn’t dead, that meant his boyfriend wasn’t a murderer. Lyre wasn’t a murder; Harper wasn’t dead.
“This is taking too long,” Lyre growled, pulling back once more to match Bayer’s speed, “I don’t remember the walk being this long.”
“It’s a pretty route, at least,” Bayer said. He gestured to the bright sun overhead, and the flowers that bloomed in the trees and within the cobblestone road. A stream of water trickled nearby, merging with the rustling of leaves in the wind to create a pleasant noise. Lyre didn’t seem to notice any of this.
“I just want to get this over with,” Lyre said, nose wrinkled and lips curled, “The sooner the better.”
“Well, I want to stay a night,” Bayer said, “I haven’t seen my Mom or Pearlie in months, I want to catch up with them.”
Lyre snorted, and said nothing else. Bayer bit back an angry retort. Lyre had never told him much about his family, other than he in fact had one. Once or twice, he’d mentioned a little sibling, but never by name, and he certainly didn’t seem concerned with keeping in touch. The only time Bayer had ever seen Lyre write a note home was to inform his mother that he would be there soon, just before the two left. Perhaps, Lyre did want to see his family, and just didn’t feel he had an excuse. That had been the case for other occasions: anything that wasn’t guild work, Lyre considered a waste of time.
Soon, the familiar sight of thatched roofs came into view. Smoke from reed-burning chimneys faded into a brilliantly blue sky. Bayer sped up, his mood brightening. He could just imagine seeing Pearlie and telling her of his adventures, hugging his Mom and eating her seaweed stew, sparring with his Mama and playing fetch-the-stone as if he was a child again. Lyre matched his pace, and Bayer realized this would be the first time he met his parents, and vice versa. This only made him more excited.
Lyre was the first to notice that something was odd. He slowed, holding out a paw to stop Bayer. He gestured to the town entrance, where a pair of Magnemite officers were conversing with a towns-Pokemon.
“Oh no,” Bayer said, “Do you think something bad happened?”
“Dunno,” Lyre’s eyes stayed on the electric-Pokemon. His foot tapped in the way it always did when he was anxious, and Bayer realized why. Were the Magnemite here for him?
As if they could hear his thoughts, the two turned to look at Bayer and Lyre. Bayer stepped in front of his boyfriend as they floated towards them.
“Can we help you, officers?” Bayer asked, his tone even.
“Yes,” The Magnemite on the right said, single eye unblinking and focused.
“We have received word of a missing Pokemon in this town,” when the second Magnemite continued, he heard Lyre’s sigh of relief from behind him. He relaxed as well, and a new anxiety made his heart flutter. He knew almost everyone in town, and hoped that it wasn’t a serious matter.
“Have either of you two seen an Eevee?” The first Magnemite asked. “A child named Cassander has been missing since sunset last night.”
Bayer’s stomach dropped as Lyre stepped forward, ears laying back.
“That’s my brother,” Lyre’s voice was unaffected, but Bayer could see the quills on his back tremble, “What’s happened?”
There was no explanation, aside from an order from the first Magnemite to follow them. Bayer tried to catch Lyre’s eye, but the Jolteon stared straight ahead, ears trembling. Hoping to comfort him, Bayer ran a paw down his side as they walked.
The stream that marked the path to Bayer’s home gurgled in the distance, and the Buizel would have hurried his step if he wasn’t flanked by the officers. The sense of excitement he’d felt at returning to his childhood home was dampened to nonexistence, and anxiety bit at his stomach. This was only worsened when the house came into view.
He recognized the forms of his mom, his mama, and an unfamiliar Espeon he assumed was Lyre’s mother. His mama and Ms.Espeon were almost nose-to-nose, tails lashing and voices raised. His mom, despite her larger size, seemed to have difficulty diffusing the situation, gently pulling the Floatzel back while speaking in a rapid, deep tone to Ms.Espeon.
“Mom, Mama?” Bayer spoke. The Samurott and Floatzel turned to face him, argument abandoned.
“Bayer!” His mom looked relieved,whiskered-moustache twitching in all directions. She let her wife pass, and the Floatzel launched herself at her son, embracing him in her familiar, spine-breaking way.
“Oh dear, I forgot you were coming!” She exclaimed once she released him, sheepish and harried.
“It’s fine, Mom,” Bayer laughed, waving a paw at the situation before him, “I know what happened.”
“Sorry to interrupt,” one of the Magnemite buzzed, coming forward, “We need to discuss the missing child, before it becomes nightfall.”
Bayer nodded and stepped aside, next to Lyre. The Jolteon hadn’t made a move to meet his mother, though he eyed her warily, shifting his paws. Ms.Espeon didn’t seem to notice him, her eyes trained on the officers approaching. Bayer led his boyfriend forward as well, a paw on Lyre’s side.
The family resemblance in Lyre and his mother was strong, despite their differing species. Like her son, Ms.Espeon was tall, her legs long and lanky. Her eyes were a piercing green color, and narrowed in the same angry glare Bayer recognized in the Jolteon beside him. A faded black ribbon was neatly tied around her tail, the forked tip of which was winding and bristling. Her muzzle was long, like her son’s, and bared in a fearsome snarl that made a chill run up the Buizel’s spine. Bayer decided an introduction wasn’t a good idea.
“Like I said,” Ms. Espeon said, “Cassander was last in Nami and Kier’s care, I don’t know how they lost--”
“We didn’t lose her!” Bayer’s mama protested, voice sharp, “I told you, she was walking home from our house last we saw her! If anything, you lost her!”
This was clearly not the right thing to say. With a wordless snarl, Ms. Espeon advanced on the Floatzel, who hunched her shoulders and bared her teeth in response. Bayer’s mom darted between the two Pokemon in front of her. She turned helplessly to the two Magnemite officers, who seemed nervous as well.
“That’s really all we know, officers,” she said, ignoring her wife’s growling and snarling behind her, “Unless you want to talk to Pearlie again, we can’t help anymore.”
“Pearlie?” Bayer spoke up, ears pricked, “Where is she? Is she okay?”
“She’s fine, dear,” his Mom sighed, running her claws over her muzzle, “Just worried sick, like the rest of us.” Bayer turned to look at his house, just in time to see the white-and-teal figure of his sister ducked back inside.
“We’ll ask the neighbors, then,” one of the Magnemite dipped in a nod-like gesture, and led their partner away from the families. “We’ll stay around for the night, and talk to you once more in the morning.”
The small group watched the two float away, and once they were out of earshot, Ms. Espeon turned to look at her son. Her gaze was as cold as ever, and Bayer felt Lyre flinch beside him.
“Lyre,” Ms. Espeon said.
“Ma’am,” Lyre’s voice was shaky.
“Who’s this?” Ms. Espeon flicked an ear at Bayer. Bayer waved, but she didn’t return it, her eyes flicking back to her son.
“That’s, uh…” Lyre swallowed, and spoke in a clearer tone, “That’s my boyfriend and partner, Bayer.”
“Nice to meet you, Ms. Espeon,” Bayer attempted, and held out a paw for her to shake. Once again, his greeting was rebuffed, and she merely nodded in acknowledgement.
“Oh,” Bayer’s mama spoke up, “This is who you’ve written about?” She looked down at Lyre, who bristled, obviously intimidated by her massive size. “It’s nice to meet you, I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Whatever stammered response Lyre attempted was cut off when his mother cleared her throat. She stepped beside him, and Bayer stepped away, more than a little intimidated by her cold demeanor.
“This is all well and good, but I need to speak with my son,” she said sharply, and flicked her green gaze to him, “In private, if you please.”
Lyre nodded. Without looking at Bayer, he padded after his mother. Bayer couldn’t help but notice the anxious way his quills moved, and the same upright-stature he used when speaking with the leaders of the guild. Perhaps there was more to his reluctance to come back than Bayer had realized.
“Well,” Bayer chuckled once Lyre was out of sight, “I didn’t expect to come home to all, well, this.” He gestured to the Magnemite a little ways away. His mama sighed, running a paw through her fur.
“It’s been stressful,” the Floatzel said, “But we’re glad to have you back, sweetie.”
“Why don’t you come inside, Bayer?” his momr said, “We’re all so excited to catch up.”
The family made their way to the family reed-and-clay house, and Bayer swelled with joy. He dove into the water surrounding the house, recognizing the blurred outline of the lily-stems and clay formations he’d known since he was a child. Down here, it was almost like nothing had changed.
Things, of course, were different. Bayer noticed that there was now a new tunnel leading inside the house, this one small and somewhat clumsily constructed: Pearlie’s work. A couple of paint brushes floated on the surface, caught in the reed-woven fence separating their home from the pond behind it. Pearlie had continued drawing, it seemed.
Bayer took the nearest tunnel into the cavernous open-room, and spotted his sister’s teal feet paddling near the entrance. With a grin, Bayer jetted towards her and pulled her under the water with him.
The Oshawott’s cry of surprise was drowned by the water closing over her mouth, and once she caught sight of Bayer, she smacked him with her thick tail and went to the surface. Bayer followed.
“That was mean!” Pearlie cried when the Buizel popped out of the water next to her.
“You did that to me last time I came here,” Bayer laughed, “That was just payback.”
“Hmph,” Pearlie turned away, nose in the air. Bayer frowned. She wasn’t as bubbly as last time, which seemed inevitable, given the circumstances. He followed her to the clay mat in the center of the room and pulled himself up next to her.
“I’m sorry about your friend, Pearlie,” Bayer said, putting a paw on the fluff between her ears, “The officers will find her, no doubt.”
Pearlie didn’t respond, and smacked his paw away. Then, she sighed and fell onto his side, wrapping short arms around his water-slicked form. Bayer put a paw on her back.
“I’m glad you’re back,” Pearlie sniffled.
Twin waves washed onto the clay as the siblings’ parents approached. Within moments, Bayer felt his mom’s fluffy ruff against his back, and his mama’s large form wrapped around them.
“It’s gonna be okay, Pearlie,” his mom said, her voice softer than the usual rough tone she adopted, “I promise.”
The family sat like that for a few more moments, until Pearlie took a deep breathe and wriggled her way from the larger Pokemons’ grip.
“I’m not a baby, I’m fine now,” Pearlie exclaimed, and dove into the water. Bayer exchanged a relieved glance with his mothers at the Oshawott’s return to her loud self.
“Don’t go away just yet, missy!” Bayer laughed once she surfaced, grabbing her tail to prevent her escape. “You haven’t gotten your gift yet!”
“Gift?” Pearlie’s eyes lit up, “You didn’t tell me I had a gift! Gimme!”
The rest of the evening was spent in the dining area of the house, where Bayer told his family of the last few months at the Guild. He told of the big expedition to Abyss Mountain, the success of Gastrodon’s Den, the various Pokemon he had met and fought-- everything except the reason he had returned. He could almost forget the uneasiness that had characterized the last couple of days as he sat next to his family, answering his sister’s shouted questions and reminiscing with his parents. Once the subject turned to Lyre, however, the doubt came back.
“That Jolteon you were with,” Bayer’s mom said through a mouthful of tofu, “That’s the one you told us about?”
“Lyre?” Bayer swallowed, “Yeah, he’s my boyfriend,”
“Boyfriend!” Pearlie exclaimed, “You’re dating him!”
The Oshawott’s voice echoed off the clay surrounding them, incredulous. Bayer blinked, staring at the younger Pokemon.
“I am,” Bayer said, “Is something the matter?”
“No,” Pearlie bit her lip in a way to suggest something was the matter, “I just didn’t know...I mean, his mom seems mean.”
“She’s going through a stressful time, Pearlie,” Bayer’s mama said, “Perhaps she’s kinder usually.”
“Mm,” Pearlie said, eyes narrowed and downcast, and mouth turned in a scowl.
The reason for Pearlie’s hostility, Bayer didn’t have a chance to find out. Soon, the conversation shifted to other topics, and the odd behavior forgotten. Once the moon was high in the sky, Pearlie was sent to bed, and despite his mothers’ offers, Bayer opted to go to the inn to meet Lyre. As he walked away from his childhood home, his earlier apprehension returned.
The inn was only a few rooms, a far cry from the multi-floor inn at Bounty’s Keep, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The common room was empty, save for Mx. Tsareena, who stood at their post as always. Bayer greeted them, and after exchanging light niceties, found that Lyre had booked a room already.
“I need to find Cass.”
The statement greeted Bayer the moment he opened the door. Lyre sat near the window, the dirt floor scuffed and the hay bed jostled. The Jolteon’s voice was cold, but Bayer could see the quiver of his ears and quills when he spoke.
“Huh?” Bayer closed the door behind him, “Why?”
“She’s my sister, Bay,” Lyre growled. His foot tapped the ground, and he only glanced at the Buizel for a moment before looking back outside, “It’s my responsibility.”
“I understand,” Bayer chose his words carefully, “I support you whatever you choose to do, but we have guild work to do.”
“I’ve already sent a letter to Clairie,” Lyre said, “She won’t refuse.”
“But--” Bayer stammered, taking a step towards his boyfriend, “What about Harper? What we came here to do?”
“Who cares about that?!” Lyre rounded on Bayer, fur sparking. Bayer took a step back.
“Don’t yell at me!” He said sharply.
Lyre realized his mistake, and his fur flattened. He averted his gaze, relaxing his glare and slumping his shoulders.
“I’m sorry, Bay,” Lyre sighed, “I’m just--this is my job to do, okay?” The Jolteon began to pace around, gaze downcast and eyes narrowed, “She’s my sister. I didn’t even know she was my sister, it’s been so long since I’ve been here. I need to find her, not anyone else.”
“Oh, Lyre,” Bayer said, gut twisting in sympathy. It was rare to see the Jolteon so worked up.
“And mom said--” Lyre cut himself off with a cough, and looked at Bayer, “Mom thinks she’s on her way to Bounty Keep. I’ll go in the morning, and hopefully I’ll find her before...well, hopefully I’ll find her soon.”
“Wait, what’s all this about you going?” Bayer stepped in front of Lyre, eyes narrowed, “I’m going too!”
“No!” Lyre exclaimed, ears flattened, “This is my job, no one else’s!”
“Don’t be daft,” Bayer snorted, and approached Lyre until he was nose to nose with him, “I want to help you. You can’t find her on your own, and even if you could, I’m your boyfriend and I’m going to support you no matter what. I’m going whether you want me to or not.”
Tumblr media
Lyre looked down at him, eyes wide. He opened his mouth to say something, but was silent. He sighed from his nose and dipped his head to touch Bayer’s shoulder.
“Okay, Bay.”
It was dark here, and loud and quiet. Leaves rustled in the rain-soaked winds, and there seemed to be shifting and chattering of Pokemon all around. Cassander shuddered in her rain-soaked fur, curling tighter together. The cacophony made it hard to distinguish sounds. Any moment now, a Pokemon could attack.
The Eevee poked her head from the shallow hole she was sheltered in. Rain stung her eyes, and shadows danced around the forest floor. When a particularly loud Pokemon cry sounded, she ducked back inside, closing her eyes tight.
She had to leave: she knew she had to. Pearlie had never lied to her, so why had she chosen to now? She recalled her anger at Pearlie’s insistence that her brother was bad, and growled into her tail. It was mean to lie about something like that. Lyre would never hurt another Pokemon. Her brother wasn’t a bad Pokemon. He wasn’t a criminal!
It had been an entire day since she left for Bounty’s Keep. She’d left late that night, too angry to stay with Pearlie, and had darted into the bushes as soon as Mrs. Samurott and Mrs. Floatzel had stopped looking. She knew her mother would have noticed her absence by now, and felt a tug of guilt. She hoped that she hadn’t worried her, but then again, her mother had always acted as if Cassander was a nuisance anyways. Maybe it was better this way.
All the stories she’d been told of great explorers going on their own to be heroes echoed in her ears. It was scary, alone out here, but she had to do this. She could be a hero; she could be brave.
She had to find Lyre.
