New Pinned/Intro Post!
Hi, I'm Loo(or Alex), I'm a disabled queer artist and writer as well as a furry vtuber who streams four days a week on twitch(mostly Minecraft but also Soulsborne games and a variety of other stuff).
You may know me from The Tuna Post, in which several thousand of you came together to "force" me to buy damn near 30 American Dollars worth of imported fancy canned tuna to eat and review live on stream. If you're here for it, said live review can be found on twitch and on my youtube channel. TL;DR: 10/10 would recommend.
I currently can't work, so if you like what I've got going on here and want to help me out, I take donations over on my ko-fi <3 Aside from that, follows on twitch help a lot, even if you never end up watching!
(Also, I sell my twitch emotes as stickers on redbubble!)
As a general heads up I am heavily introverted and have ADHD, and between those and my disabilities eating up my energy I often take a while to respond to messages/tags/reblogs/DMs and sometimes forget entirely. This isn't anything against you, and I'm working on it, but just something to keep in mind if you plan on interacting with me a lot.
You are welcome to put screenshots of my text posts on other sites/in your little tiktoks and youtube shorts, but I have rules.
(Note, this does not apply to my art. If I find you reposting my art I will do everything in my power to destroy you.)
Above all else, I would simply appreciate it if you asked first. I am almost always okay with this sort of thing if people are actually willing to reach out and ask permission.
Do not crop out, censor, or otherwise remove my username from the post.
If it's on a site I have an account on, I would love to be tagged in it. I'm a small creator, the boost would really help. Links are in my caard!
Do not edit the post or purposefully leave parts out, you must repost it in it's entirety with the words I actually used. The first post of mine that got big enough to get reposted ended up having an entire paragraph that summarized my point cut off, and that's just rude. (Exception: If you ask first we can talk about editing the post to remove swears and such.)
No AI. If you use AI for any part of the video I do not give you permission to use my content in any way.
FAQ:
Do you take commissions?
Not at the moment, but hopefully in the future!
What do you use for art?
Wacom Intuos tablet + Clip Studio Paint on the PC, though these days I mostly use CSP on a Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 since I can use it in bed on my low spoons days.
What do you want to go to school for?
Digital Art and American Sign Language!
You talk about being sick all the time/having health problems, what's wrong with you?
Too many things to list <3 but the most notable ones are chronic migraines, hEDS, and ADHD.
Queer?
I'm ace, bisexual, bigender, and butch. I'm also polyam but currently in a very happy monogamous relationship and don't have plans to change that. My pronouns are she/they, and while I would prefer to not have people use he/him with me you are highly encouraged to use masculine forms of address(sir, guy, dude, king, man, my guy, grandpa, dad, etc.) whenever appropriate. My assigned sex/gender at birth is none of your business.
Who's Yotsuba?
Yotsuba is an adorable little gremlin and the main character of my favorite manga, Yotsuba &!, and you should go read it right now seriously it's amazing go read it go read it GO READ IT-
What's "ask to tag"?
The tumblr equivalent of "author chose not to use archive warnings", I put it on anything that seems like it could use a trigger warning but where no one has specifically asked me to tag for that trigger yet. Things I currently (try to) tag for: flashing lights/eyestrain, insects, suicide, fatphobia/diet culture/disordered eating, my hero academia, gore/body horror, current events, us politics, politics, covid, cats, and anything nsfw goes under nsft.
I can't promise to be 100% consistent with these tho, between the ADHD and the migraines I am very forgetful, so slip ups are bound to happen.
Loo? Like the bathroom??
LOO is short for LastOneOut, I'm american and forgot people call it that, you can write it as Lou or just call me Alex if it makes you feel better.
LookingForLoo?? Like looking for the bathroom??
On websites where LastOneOut is taken I'm LookingForLoo because I'm literally looking for LOO, LastOneOut. I thought it was clever T_T
Sideblogs?
I have a nsfw alt @looafterdark (18+ only I swear to god I keep a loaded gun pointed at the follow list) and a writing inspo blog @last-scrapbook. I also once ran a couple of character ask blogs, though I don't plan on starting them up again, and I was the mod behind @pokeprofshowdown.
Who's Eugene/Ophelia/Sasha?
My ocs from an original story I'm working on. I get brainrot and post about them a lot. You are ALWAYS allowed to ask me about them!
What's your fursona/can I make art of you?
I'm a dog, kinda like a papillion but not really, and yes you may. My ref sheet is here.
Tumblr media
Can I repost your funny text posts to twitter/insta/reddit?
Sure, all I ask is that you include the entire post and leave my username visible. You can also tag me if you want, I'm lookingforloo on twitter, insta, and reddit <3
Can I repost your art/writing?
Absolutely not.
Can I plug your art or writing into an AI program?
Absolutely not under any fucking circumstances.
Can I use your art in an amv/fandom board/as a cover for my playlist or fic/ect.?
Depends, DM me first.
Can I write fic/make fanart based on your fics/art/HCs/AUs?
Absolutely <3
Can I write fic/make fanart based on your OCs?
Art yes, fics no.
What's your stance on the discourse?
There is no amount of posting online about contentious topics that could ever match the sheer power of simply going out into your community and finding a project that helps other people that you can dedicate your time and energy to. Also wear a mask, vote(if you can), and listen to marginalized people when they speak about their experiences.
How old are you?

tumblr etiquette 101
a list that is nowhere near exhaustive, from yours truly.
First off, welcome! Whether you’re a twitter veteran looking for anything but whatever twitter is, or a new user just done signing up, glad to see you in our ranks beloveds! Welcome home. Refer to this quick tour to make sure your fandom experience (or tumblr experience in general) is a positive one!
Disclaimer: I know it’s long, but please try to read or skim through til the end if you’re new here! This is by no means meant to be a rule book (for the most part lol), only a guide to help you get settled easier!
1) Your blog
This is where people will see and interact with you, so put some effort into it!
Try to choose a name (url) that’s simple. You can see it as your brand, it’s how people will perceive you and remember you. If you’d like to interact with other users here (and not use the site just for the content) it’s better to have something short and sweet, preferably without spaces. (Of course, these are only suggestions.) Rest assured, you can change it literally any time you want.
Have a theme. Utilize the tool that lets you edit your blog’s color or the font of your bio! You can make it match your profile picture, or your blog if it has a theme of its own. Make it feel homey :]
Fill in your bio. People will be checking out your profile probably more often than you think. Don’t leave it empty! Put in any information you’re comfortable with sharing and isn’t too personal (like your age if you’re a minor, or other TMI that can be found on other people’s carrds). It’s always better to add a name/nickname people can use to refer to you by, but feel free to use your blog description to shitpost still.
You can have an intro post. More often than not, you’ll see a blog have a pinned post, a post permanently appearing at the top of a blog until you pin another post or unpin it. You can make one of those, if you’d like to introduce yourself in more length, link any other socials or a carrd, and show others visiting your blog how you tag things so it’ll be easy for them to navigate. Not an obligation.
Keep your anonymity and your safety. It should go without saying, but there’s no harm in repeating it just in case. Your comfort, privacy and safety has the utmost importance. Don’t share any information you don’t want to. Don’t share your age if you’re a minor, or any other incredibly personal info. I’d encourage you to go by a nickname that’s not your real name, (blog name, your brand, remember?) since there’s safety in anonymity, and that’s lowkey one of the big deals of tumblr, but that’s up to you still.
Choose what you want to be visible. Your liked posts and who you follow are all things you can set to keep to yourself and hide from the publics eye, how handy! You should go through all the setting while you’re at it, set it to your comfort.
Side blogs are a thing. You can have multiple blogs that you can use for different things (see: different fandoms, art blog, etc) to keep them organized or away from your followers. Just remember that the replies and off-anon asks you send will be from your main blog, as well as where you follow other blogs from.
2) Interacting with others
You’ve set up your account, now comes the fun part!
Follow to your heart’s desire. If you care about others seeing who you follow, fear not! In tumblr, usually only two types of blogs keep their following visible to others: newbies, and big blogs using it to point people on other good blogs’ direction. Just turn it off, and go ham following people.
Customize your dashboard. Gonna mention just two things here: this is another reason why it’s really important that you follow blogs without sparing, your dash will collect dust otherwise; and you should turn off “best stuff first” in your dashboard settings, to have a better community here and all.
Follow tags. You can set it in your settings that posts with your followed tags appear on your dashboard.
You can check the og post for edits and context. When you see a reblogged post you don’t understand the context of (or don’t recognize the character in case of fanarts), click on the profile so it will take you to the original post. From there you can check the original poster’s tags to get the context, or see if there have been any edits made to the post, since when you edit a post it doesn’t update any past reblogs.
Send people asks... This is how you make mutuals, people! Do it off-anon if you’d like them to know your blog, or anon if you’d rather not! (You can still end your messages with a signature to show you’re the same person, -[name] is one example.) Send them nice messages, ask their opinion on something, discuss things, or just straight up shitpost lol. Go wild. The sky’s your limit and it’s definitely more than 280 characters.
...and let them ask you! You can set your preference in the settings, do it on desktop tumblr to access more settings tho! What you can customize on mobile is limited (like letting people ask you things anonymously, that’s only on desktop settings). In my personal opinion, it’s always better to tag their username (or a nickname you give them, if they’re a friend) on that post, since you wouldn’t want your interactions with your friends to get buried in your blog forever.
Comment on posts. If you have something to say but don’t want the post to appear on your blog you can add a comment. The owner of the post will get a notif for it, but for anyone else you need to tag them.
For the love of god, reblog. People will only see your liked posts if you have it visible to public and they specifically go on your blog to look at them. You like something? You reblog. It’s already hard for posts to circulate properly, if you don’t reblog them literally no one will see them. If not for anything do it for the artists. Just hold and drag on mobile to fast rb.
3) Your Posts
Finally here! Don’t be a lurker, post and engage!
Make use of “read more”. If your post is long, add it. That’s what you clicked on earlier to expand this post. On desktop leave an empty line and you’ll see three dots appear, and on mobile type :readmore: on that empty line.
Draft a post to come back to it later. Pretty self explanatory.
Queue your post. Whether it’s your own post or you’re reblogging, make use of the queue feature to a) not spam reblog and fill up the dashboard of people following you and b) keep your blog active while you’re gone. Mess around in the settings, it’s fairly easy to set up.
Schedule your post. Same as queueing, the only difference is you get to choose the exact time your post will go up. Handy if you want to schedule a post for certain dates like april fools, or 5 years in the future for some reason.
Format your texts. You can do all kinds of fancy stuff here (that’s a link, try pressing on it). Twitter doesn’t have this, make use of it. Changes depending on whether you’re on mobile or desktop. (Desktop has less features.)
Check your stats. If you’re trying to understand the algorithm better or want to look at some pretty graphs you can get your data on that on desktop tumblr.
@ people in comments. You’ll get all the notifs when people comment on your posts but they won’t see your reply unless you tag them in your message.
4) Tags, and tagging a post
This is where my earlier statement “this isn’t a rule book” stops being applicable. It’s not a war crime to go against these, I won’t come chasing you (don’t take my word for this) but you’ll work up a bad rep. Just saying lol.
Do NOT crosstag posts. It’s really tempting to add unrelated tags to increase your posts’ interaction, I know, but that’s not what tumblr is about. Don’t be a dick and make other communities’ experience worse for them.
Always tag your posts with “crit/critical/discourse/etc” if it calls for it. There’s no exceptions to it. This is the reason you see people migrating to tumblr. Let people enjoy things.
Don’t main tag a critical/negative post. If your crit post is about “Thing”, you add the “Thing critical” tag, but not the “Thing” tag. People block crit tags if they don’t want to see it, don’t shove it in their faces by main tagging it.
If you don’t want to see something, just block it. Another reason why people are able to survive on tumblr. You don’t start discourse, you don’t make call-outs, you block. You can find something for every community you can think of if you go looking for it. The worst of the worst probably won’t ever appear on your dash, but if you’re worried or feel the need for it, you know where the block button is.
Feel free to shitpost or ramble. More often than not you’ll see people rb a post with a comment, and their elaboration will be in the tags. The tags are only visible on your profile and the notifications of the owner of the og blog. Just a thing people do.
Reblog artists’ posts with nice comments in the tags! Commenting on a drawing is usually done through the tags (Not an obligation, again, just a thing people do. Feel free to add your comment on the rb itself if you’d want other people to see it tho!) and leave nice messages for the artists! It’s a win-win for everyone involved.
If you have more than a single follower, always use the common tw warning tags. You don’t need to tw everything, but tw’ing some common things is the bare minimum human decency. Keep it safe for others.
Tag a post “long post” if it’s really long. Pretty self explanatory. Don’t make people scroll through all that please lol.
You can use them to organize your blog. This is more of a pro tip, if you’d like to not miss a post in your blog, cause they will start pilin’ up soon enough.
#Liveblogging is pretty fun. If you’d like to talk to people during streams, don’t forget to add the relevant tags still! Again, you won’t show up on people’s dash otherwise.
Whew! That got out of hand. Hopefully I didn’t bore you too much. Check out blogs like @heritageposts and @hellsite-hall-of-fame to honor our past o7. @mcytblr-hall-of-fame too maybe :eyes:. Anyways, don’t forget the most important rule of them all:
Enjoy your stay! You’re meant to have fun on here while also making friends (if that’s your thing). Just be kind and respectful of others, you’ll get the hang of the rest! <3

Note
also TDoP Blacksand and whichever of the NDU ships strikes your fancy
For TDoP (that’s The Doors of Perception, for those who don’t know, a long human AU on Ao3—my username there is the same as my url here) I think I will only do a few, since quite a lot of these questions get answered in the fic itself!
5. Who says ‘I love you’ first?
Sandy—so early Kozzy has trouble believing he means it as seriously as he does. Sandy’s parents and all of the Guardians characters living in the house that’s the main setting say I love you far more freely than anyone in Kozzy’s family.
6. Who would they ask if they ever had a threesome?
After a lot of discussion, the answer to this is, in fact, “no one.” The conversation came up during the ‘60s part of the AU, and even though it wouldn’t have been too difficult to arrange, then, they never agreed on any particular person to ask. Later, however, in a purely hypothetical discussion, they did agree on Aragorn.
17. When they find a time machine, where do they go?
The future. The future, always and forever.
26. Why do they need to have a serious chat?
The thorniest part of writing and thinking about this AU is that I’ve tied it so closely to the real world (there are small offshoots that link it to more fantastical worlds, but the main fic is a real world human AU). Sandy and Kozzy are 73/72 this year. They don’t want to do nothing, but they can both get very paranoid about the possibility of losing the other/the other being in danger. So the chat they need to have is how they can help other people without doing things they think are intolerably risky for each other.
 *
For NDU (that’s Nightmare Dork University, for those unfamiliar, a college AU collectively built upon by a number of authors and artists that puts a whole bunch of AU Pitches and one Jack together—more of a mood than a single storyline) I will go with Nightmare Galleon, because I think I’ve really got my own particular variation of the pair now, so why not work through some headcanons?
1. Who makes the first move and how?
Pitchiner makes the first move, very straightforward, he just asks for Pitch’s number. Pitch refuses and immediately retaliates by asking for his. To Pitchiner that’s six of one, half dozen of the other, so he agrees.
2. Who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better?
Pitch is more insecure by far, but it mostly has to do with Piki rather than Pitchiner. What Pitchiner realizes, though, is that Pitch appears to feel much better when he’s doing the things that he’s good at that Piki doesn’t do. These things include costume and set design, costume construction, lighting, sound design…but if Pitch stops to think he sometimes can throw himself into a funk about how none of these aspects are as prestigious/relevant/important as being The Prodigy Playwright like Piki.
3. Who is the most romantic?
Pitchiner, but he’s also not going to be very romantic unless Pitch can stop acting like any romantic gestures he’s given are his due and taking them for granted.
4. Who can’t keep their hands to themselves?
Pitchiner is very grabby, it’s true, and the things he does are more obviously affectionate/sexual, but Pitch is also incredibly physical with Pitchiner, even if it is in a somewhat haphazard/almost violent way. He gets better with time, though the process gets set back every time he visits home, and also once when Pitchiner compared him to a rescue cat.
5. Who says ‘I love you’ first?
Pitchiner does, however it’s not in a really sweet moment, it’s more like a WTF moment, like, I’m still here because I love you? Oh shit that’s true! This strikes Pitch as reckless behavior and he doesn’t say he loves Pitchiner until much later. He’s very lucky that Pitchiner is more perceptive than he gives him credit for and recognizes the signs of Pitch’s growing love.
6. Who would they ask if they ever had a threesome?
NDU doesn’t always have a Sandy, but I don’t think there’s any harm in putting one in one of Pitch’s creative writing classes who embodies “it’s always the quiet ones” and has a wit that runs around Pitch’s in circles. This infuriates Pitch, but in a confused way, as unlike his brother, Sandy is not trying to be a better writer than him, in particular. He just is. That’s how Pitch feels, anyway. He’s not at the point where he can understand that art doesn’t need to be ranked. Anyway so this Sandy decides to respond to antagonism with flirting, and it’s not as though Pitch thinks he doesn’t deserve to be flirted with, he’s got a hot boyfriend after all, and Sandy knows this…Sandy does know this, because he and Pitchiner are both in the honors program. And when Pitchiner meets Pitch after class one day Sandy is perfectly happy to flirt with both of them. The audacity in itself is appealing. So in this scenario it’s less them asking and more someone else asking them.
In another branch of the NDU story cluster I think they would ask Jack Sickle, not particularly to spite Piki even, but because Piki is being weird about sex with Jack and Pitchiner thinks that Jack should have his first experience of gay sex with less baggage attached to it. Pitch is not 100% sure that a threesome involving the twin of the man who’s obsessed with Jack counts as LESS baggage but sometimes in college you make decisions that seem obviously bad for reasons that aren’t really clear.
11. What do they hide from one another?
So, these things are kind of all the starting point state for my NDU boys. They wouldn’t remain static if I actually did write the version of the big long NDU story I have in my head.
On the mundane side, Pitch hides almost everything he can about his childhood with Piki, because while they weren’t perfectly harmonious siblings, they still had a pretty strong bond and their relationship didn’t start to turn sour until about high school. Pitch isn’t sure how to explain how it all happened to himself, much less anyone else, so he does what he can to avoid questions. He also tends to hide his family dynamics from everyone in general, because he’s from a money-poisoned environment and the more people know about him, the more likely someone’s going to say, “you know that was/is fucked up, right?” and he does NOT have time to think about that right now. He also hides the fact that he occasionally has idiopathic seizures, because that would mean he’s weak or something. However this last thing was revealed to Pitchiner very dramatically and resulted in a lot more panic than it needed to, because of the surprise.
Pitchiner, on the other hand, habitually hides any worries and fears he has about anything. He shoves all that down and tries to change all that energy into things that could be possible solutions. Not feeling strong enough? Never tell anyone, just work out more! Worried that you can’t take care of your loved ones? Learn how to cook! Worried that you really are just a meathead and that you’re wasting your scholarship? Study more! But alone! So no one will know! Pitchiner also hides from himself and anybody else the fact that he’s thought about and is aware of the way his size/strength can be intimidating/scary and not just a hunk/himbo trait. He’s deeply worried that he’s an inherently dangerous person, and so he tries to act like he’s just too dumb to have thought about it…but he has, and he’s wondered if this aspect of himself is a tool he can, should, or would use in different aspects of his life.
On the non-mundane side, both Pitch and Pitchiner hide the fact that they’re having weird, possibly supernatural visions/encounters with terrifying entities that they nevertheless seem to have some kind of deep kinship with.
12. What first changes when it starts getting serious?
Pitch falls asleep around Pitchiner. Pitchiner starts paying a lot closer attention to what he can or cannot casually needle Pitch about.
13. When do they realise they should get together?
Well, at first Pitch is like, Pitchiner won’t worry about me, that’s GREAT. And Pitchiner is like, Pitch doesn’t have any expectations of me, that’s GREAT. So they first get together because they think they won’t care about each other…which is incorrect.
14. When one has a cold, what does the other do?
When Pitch has a cold, Pitchiner has got the somewhat homemade chicken soup ready! He’s got the tissues! The immune-system-boosting vitamins (hey, he may be in the honors program but he still can’t perfectly detect bullshit)! He’s got a huge bottle of water with times marked on it for Pitch to drink all of! Which is good, because otherwise Pitch would just wrap himself in a quilt, take swigs of nyquil at random times, and sleep until he either died or felt better. When Pitchiner has a cold, Pitch is the one who reminds him (none too gently, though) to stay in and fully recover. He will also bring canned soup and huge water bottles upon request. Not the vitamins though, they smell weird. He will argue with Pitchiner to take actual cold medicine and usually succeeds.
18. When they fight, how do they make up?
The glib answer to this is sex, and that works for their arguments and spats over minor things, but when a major issue comes up it’s different. They fought over Pitch keeping his seizures a secret, for example, and it seemed like they’d never be able to resolve that, though they both knew they didn’t want to break up. So…they tried to bring in someone neutral as a moderator. Fortunately or unfortunately, the only person who was around was Proto. Who said some insightful things and some bizarre things and soon enough both Pitch and Pitchiner wanted him out of the conversation. And then they were just like, “Are we breaking up? No? All right, let’s try to forget the whole thing.” Actual apologies and vulnerability are a few years away.
21. Where do they get nervous about going with one another?
Pitchiner is nervous about going to see his family with Pitch, because he’s worried that someone’s going to be like, “hey, he’s pretty bad for you, you know that, right?” and he can’t fully explain their connection and he doesn’t want to have to. Pitch is nervous about going to see his family with Pitchiner because he knows they’ll look down on him and won’t believe that Pitch could actually care about him as more than just a body, which will force Pitch to admit to himself how much Pitchiner means to him and it’s a whole mess (for Pitch, mentally).
22. Where does their first kiss happen?
Pitchiner goes for a cheeky, casual kiss after they have lunch together one day in the school’s main dining hall, like it could be a Bugs-Bunnyish joke unless…But then Pitch is like, what? How dare you? And yanks Pitchiner down by his t-shirt for a much deeper kiss that leaves both of them kind of flustered as they have to hurry off to their next classes.
24. Where do they first have sex?
Pitch’s dorm room. He’s got a single, he knows he’s planning to be discreet, and he’s very clear that he’s making a booty call to Pitchiner.
25. Why do they fight?
On a serious level, they fight because they try to keep so much from each other, but their relationship develops enough that they things they try to hide eventually come to light. And then both of them get mad because it’s like “we could have worked this out sooner!” but unfortunately it doesn’t work out that way. They fight because they care about each other but are squirrelly about deserving care/being cared for.
On a less serious level, they squabble because they can. Pitch is zero percent scared of Pitchiner, and Pitchiner doesn’t expect Pitch to be emotionally controlled at all times and he doesn’t compare him to his brother. Having a raised-voices argument about bananas or Stephen King or whatever is freeing.
26. Why do they need to have a serious chat?
Because the evidence that supernatural stuff is real and taking an interest in them and a few other people close to them is accumulating and talking probably won’t solve that but it might help them get through it all alive.
27. Why do their friends get annoyed with them?
Over the top public displays of affection and stupid loud fights about things like bananas or Stephen King
28. Why do they get jealous?
Pitch gets jealous of the way Pitchiner seems so comfortable taking up space. Pitchiner gets jealous of how quick Pitch’s wit can be, especially in arguments.
29. Why do they fall a little bit more in love?
Pitch falls a little bit more in love with Pitchiner for what seem like contradictory reasons. As they’re together in their years of young adulthood, Pitchiner learns the skill of pausing before reacting, how to be more effectively compassionate, etc., and Pitch learns to accept that Pitchiner really does love him for him. But as Pitchiner is getting more mature in this way, he’s also gaining confidence in being implacable/unstoppable when he deems it necessary. Like the fact that Pitchiner is able and willing to intimidate people is maybe a red flag, but it also lights him up like nothing else. Pitchiner falls a little bit more in love with Pitch as Pitch learns to appreciate the things he himself can do, and care less about what Piki says or does. He also falls a little bit more in love with Pitch as he becomes more and more refined and precise in how manipulating or cruel he can be. Again, not good, but sometimes it’s just impressive, you know? But AFTER this point…they both get a chance to see each other respond to being offered power that very very few people are ever offered, and see each other recognize the strings attached, and recognize that they cannot deal with this on their own. And they come out of this without losing themselves, and without becoming truly monstrous, either. And that inspires more love than skillfully being terrible.
30. Why does it work (or not work) between them?
It works out between them partly because of the horrifying supernatural stuff they’ve both experienced. These experiences are something they share with Proto, Piki, and Jack, but as far as they know, no one else. To have a long-term partner that doesn’t have that kind of supernatural heaviness in their past is, at least subconsciously, totally unworkable to both Pitch and Pitchiner.
But it’s not just the supernatural shared experience. They do like each other, they do love each other, and, most importantly, they’ve seen each other grow and change over their years at college. Sometimes it was for the worse! Eventually it was for the better. Now, in the kind of overarching story I would create, at the end of college Pitch and Pitchiner might break up because of the weird events they went through and now feel like those are something they want to be done with and put behind them, plus a worry that being around the others will cause more of it to happen. But they can’t lose contact completely, and let’s say Proto eventually arranges for them to randomly meet again. And basically it’s like—“You loved me when I was terrible. So I know I can be myself around you, and it can be okay even if I fuck up while trying to go through life while being less terrible.”

Game Plan (Kenma Kozume)
Tumblr media
Gamer soulmates do exist, huh.
Pairing: Kenma Kozume x female gamer reader  Type: fluff, soulmate au Before read notes: The game referenced here is Epic Seven, sorry if you are confused but I think you get the idea... right?
Tumblr media
You sighed. You didn't know what to do. It was gym class, the last class of the day. It was your least favorite class. They were doing volleyball, and you knew just about nothing about it, even though you had been forced to play it for years. You figured you'd forgotten how to play.
After changing into your gym uniform, you started to think about what you were going to do after school. It was a Friday, meaning that it was the weekend as soon as school ended. You were going to play games, since that's what you usually do. Roana's coming out today, huh. I guess I'm going to pull. She seems good. I have enough to pity in skystone, and I've got about 400 bookmarks. So, 80 summons without using skystones, and  3,800 skystones'll be used up if I do end up pitying. If  I just do the daily missions, it'll take me around probably 80 days to get that back, not including the daily sign in prizes and the Re:Birth event, if I get stuff from that- (1)
"(y/n)! (y/n)! (y/n)!" you heard a voice call you. Looking up, probably after the third time you were called, you asked, "What's up?"
"Geez, your head's in the clouds! What'cha thinking about?" you best friend, (b/f/n),
"Hmm.... well, just what I was going to do later," you replied, knowing that (b/f/n) could see through you like just-polished (does that makes sense?) glass.
"What were you going-" (b/f/n) was interrupted by the teacher, who had started the class. She sorted the class into 4 groups, with 2 games going on at a time. You and (b/f/n) were separated, so you couldn't talk during class. You mostly just stood there and walked around, looking like you were trying. During your second game, your team and (b/f/n)'s teams played each other. (b/f/n) was really into it and made you participate for once.
When class was over, you went to the locker room to change, and as you were about to put your shirt on, (b/f/n) did a jump scare on you, which made you jump.
"What the heck, (b/f/n)?" You always hated jump scares, especially from (b/f/n), because her hands were always cold. Cold hands on bare skin (A/N: it sounds weird, but you're in the locker room. changing.) is always the worst.
"Heh! Got'cha again!" (b/f/n) laughed. You sighed. You finished changing and left the locker room. You started to think about your game plan for Epic Seven. (A/N: it's an amazing game, check it out!) You weren't too far into the game, and you'd just entered midgame by being able to auto Wyvern 11 and want to focus on building a golem team. You had already built and 6-starred Cermia, your nuker, and wanted to build Cecilia, your tank and defense breaker. (2) You were thinking about using either speed/hit sets or health/def/hit sets, when (b/f/n) scared you again.
"Can you just stop that already?" you asked (b/f/n), getting annoyed from her jump scares.
"Y'know, (y/n)..." (b/f/n) started.
"Yes?" you answered, curious to what she was going to say.
"Why don't we go to the mall later?" You were surprised that you didn't expect (b/f/n) to say that. It seemed very (b/f/n) though.
"Since when have I willingly gone to the mall?" you asked, not wanting to go.
"I heard there's a new anime store there~~" (b/f/n) tried to convince you. That was the reason you were going to go. You and (b/f/n) bonded over anime years ago, and you always watched every season's most popular anime. (3) So even though you spent more time playing games than watching anime, you were always on top of the trends and still loved it.
"Okay, I'll go," you answered, trying to hide the fact that you were actually excited.
Riiiiiing! Riiiiiing! The bell rang, meaning that the school day was over and you were finally free. You and (b/f/n) walked towards your lockers together, since they were right next to each other. You listened to her talk about fashion and other things like that. She'd gotten into that recently and was all over it.
Both of you finished gathering the stuff you needed over the weekend, and while at your lockers, you and (b/f/n) had decided to drop off your backpacks at (b/f/n)'s house, so that you could talk the whole day. You don't talk too much, but (b/f/n) does, and you don't mind her talking much.
(b/f/n) wanted to go to the clothing shops first. She had to go to some family reunion soon, so she had to buy something fancy. You accepted, knowing that (b/f/n) wouldn't forget about the anime store, because ever since she discovered Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer,  she's been all over it too, and you were 99% sure that new anime store would have Kimetsu no Yaiba merch.
You didn't know much about fashion, so (b/f/n) picked out the clothes for herself and asked you for a second opinion. While she was picking out clothes and trying them on, you had nothing to do, so you thought about the build you were going for. (A/N: for Cecilia, referenced earlier in the chapter) Your phone was almost dead, and you wanted to save the remaining battery in case your parents called or something. So, you borrowed (b/f/n)'s pen, which she carried everywhere for a reason you haven't been able to figure out for years, and started to write out your plan for building Cecilia.
                                                                *
"Hm?" Kenma noticed some pen marks on his skin all of a sudden. He and Kuroo were walking to practice when he noticed it.
"What? Did you notice something from your soulmate? ~~ Hmm~~~?" Kuroo teased him, knowing what was up.
"Mhm. She wrote something."
"Hmmm? Let me see," Kuroo leaned over to see what was being written.
Cecilia-
- Speed/hit set
- main stats: Effectiveness%, Def%, health%
- substats: effectiveness, def, health, eff. resist
"Hmmm... seems like game stats?" Kuroo figured. Kenma shook his head.
"Character build?" Kenma nodded, meaning that Kuroo's second guess was right.
"You know which game?"
"Epic Seven, I guess."
"Heh~~? So you do know. Maybe gamer soulmates do exist~~" Kenma didn't reply. The two walked into the court, and they began their daily volleyball training. Kenma noticed that there was something new written in few minute intervals. (A/n: does that make sense?) They had a common theme: Epic Seven builds. First was Cecilia, then Tamarinne, then Ravi, and so on.
"Woah! Your soulmate writes their skin?! Cool! Mine doesn't! I've tried lots of times, and they wouldn't respond!" Lev noticed what (y/n) was writing.
"I think they're for herself," Kenma muttered.
                                                                   *
"Wait, (f/n)!" (b/f/n) called out. You turned around. "Hm?"
"You're walking too fast! I can't keep up!"
"You're just slow."
"Oh, come on!" (b/f/n) had to run to catch up with you. As you entered the store, one thing caught your eye. It was an Epic Seven Poster, which you went straight to.
       (b/f/n) followed straight behind, and asked what this was about.
"It's an Epic Seven poster. I don't know who made it, but I'm buying it. It has Krau, Ludwig, Aither, Vildred, Destina, Yuna, Ras, Arky, Mercedes, Karin, Iseria, and best girl Angelica in it. It's totally worth." You explained, putting on a smirk and feeling like you're the smartest around.
"Oh, you really like this game," (b/f/n) said.
"Yeah, you didn't know? All this time?" you said back, trying to get at her for those jump scares.
"I just didn't know you liked it this much. Maybe I'll give it a try."
"Wait... really?!"
"Uh, yeah."
"We're going back to your house and getting you this game once I'm done here."
"Once WE'RE done here."
"Yes, once WE'RE done here. Yes, yes."
The two of you walked around, excitedly looking at the different merch they had there. You ended up buying lots of stuff, since you're a collector and love collecting things. Once the both of you got to (b/f/n)'s house, you took her phone out of her hands and downloaded Epic Seven. You charged yours while you were at it, and you gave it back to her once you got back and it loaded. Even with the tutorial, you explained everything in detail, and (b/f/n) knew she couldn't stop you, so she just listened and figured it would make understanding the game easier.
You had tons of notes on your hand at this point, so you figured you might as well write (b/f/n)'s username on there as well. You wrote it, along with her discord server, since (b/f/n) had gotten it recently and invited you to her server.
                                                                            *
Kuroo was staying over at Kenma's for a sleepover, and they were playing Smash Ultimate. (A/n: if you don't know what this game is, you live under a rock.) Then, Kuroo noticed some more notes on Kenma's hands.
"There's more."
"Hm?"
"Your soulmate wrote more. Let me see~." Kenma lifted his hand from the controller for once, and Kuroo spotted a discord server and an Epic Seven username.
"Ooh, maybe they want you to join a server?"
"No way. It's probably for herself again. There wouldn't be any need to tell me."
"Let's join it! I want to see who's in it. Your soulmate'll be there!"
"I don't really care."
"I know you'll join it later 'cause you're curious."
"I don't really care."
"Well, I'm joining it."
"It's rude to just join other people's servers without their permission-"
"Whoever gets the link is welcome~~" Kenma sighed. He couldn't stop Kuroo at this point.
→ kuroo hopped into the server.
(b/f/n): Uh, how'd u get the server invite? idk who u r.
kuroo: I got it from my friend. His soulmate wrote it on her hand.
(b/f/n): Ah, I know who you're talking about. I think.
kuroo: Ooh, great! Let's introduce them!
(b/f/n): OMG YAAAS. I wanna see how their ship turns out~~
kuroo: Great minds think alike, let's take this to private chat
(b/f/n): 'kay- got it!
(y/n): You know I joined the server, right?
(b/f/n): ...
kuroo: ...
→ applepi joined the party.
applepi: Well, you can write your plans here. I don't mind.
(y/n): I don't mind either.
(y/n): Hey, applepi, if you're my soulmate, text me.
applepi: later
(y/n): now.
(b/f/n): wow, hasty now, eh?
(y/n): I just want to confirm.
(y/n): and when I read the word "hasty", i immediately thought of Haste. pretty high on the tier list imo.
kuroo: what?
(y/n):
       (y/n): That's mah boi Haste. Ever since Melissa event. tho W. Schuri and A. Vil are higher on the list but they're ml so they're hard to get.
applepi: He's cool, but Roana's better.
(y/n): she ain't even out yet. tho best waifu now.
applepi: well, it's because she gives the revive buff... vampiric touch isn't that great compared to revive
kuroo: can you just take this to private
(y/n): thank you
Placeskip brought to you by Haiba Lev.
Soulmate: So, you're (y/n)?
(y/n): yeah. Wanna try going out? It seems pretty interesting how people instantly fall in love with their soulmates. I wanna test a theory.
Soulmate: ....
(y/n): I'm an expert on Epic Seven. I know "cheats". well not really, but farming gear gets better when you do it my way.
Soulmate: sure. ok.
(y/n): actually, I don't know your name yet. what is it?
Soulmate: Kozume Kenma. Just call me Kenma.
(y/n): vid call?
Kenma: .... not yet.
~~~END~~~ uwu
Extra! bc this is the 1st chappie! :)
"Hello?" Kuroo answered.
"Can you see us?" (b/f/n) asked.
"Yeah, can you see us?" Kuroo asked and answered. We both nodded.
"I think he's cute! If you don't hurry up, I'll take him~~" (b/f/n), the scare and provocation master told you.
"He's mine already... baka," you muttered. Kenma heard it, and both of you blushed.
Tumblr media
Hello, it's Lili! I hope you liked my terrible first fic!
Some notes:
- (1) This whole time, I was talking about Epic Seven. It's a great game.
- (2) Def break/decrease defense- debuff that decreases the opponent's defense by 70%
-I'm not an expert at E7, I've only been playing since the SSB (Seaside Bellona) banner (July 2019) so I'm not that great. And it was the first gatcha game I really ever played besides Food Fantasy and Love Nikki, but those don't really count.
- 2174 words
- Suggestions/comments/constructive criticism/grammar suggestions all appreciated!
Tag Game: About the Author
I was tagged by @trickster-writes you should give her a look-see if you haven’t already. Thanks =)
Rules of the Game: Answer these questions and tag blogs you’d like to know better.
Nickname: thejay101 was the name I used while gaming online, what little of that I did. Now, on Social Media, I use JayWrites101 as a brand name to unify my different accounts (even though the only two I’m active on is Twitter and Tumblr) Fun Fact: Jay. is my nome de plume or pen-name. There’s a lot of meaning packed into those four characters lol.
Zodiac: Uhhh, Capricorn, I think. I don’t put stock into zodiac signs so I keep forgetting, but I like reading posts about _____ as the signs, so I keep re-looking up what I am. XD
Height: Don’t know. I don’t measure. I’m taller than you’d think but shorter than a lot of people.
Time: rn it’s 11:11 A.M. I think I’m on U.S. Central timezone.
Favorite Band/Artist: Favorite?
Song Stuck In My Head: The Cups song, -- I can’t remember it’s proper name -- but I’m weird so I’ve also got bits of Five Rings, New Divide, Halzy’s Without Me, and the main refrain of Spectacular Spider-man interrupting at “fun” intervals. (Spec-tacularr, Spec-tacularr, Spider-man! Spec-tacularrrrr (repeats))
Last Movie I Saw: Captain Marvel. And before that Shazam. (I watched S first so I wouldn’t be quite as biased towards one or the other.) The JayReviews should be finished on Friday.
Last Thing I Googled: The correct spelling for the word “necessarily.” In my defense, that was four days ago. And I double check words a lot out of paranoia more so than proper misspellings. (I have Grammarly for that.)
Other Blogs: None, but again, I’m on all Social Media platforms except Kick. But again, again... I’m only active on this one and Twitter.
Do I Get Asks: Every once and a while. I love asks, especially about my writings, life, philosophy, or my furry little editors. =D
Why This Username: Well, I started gaming under thejay101 ‘cause Ima school ya’ ;D I’ve always been really good at games, and I’ve always been a bit (read lot) of a braggart. But with the march of the internet, that name got more and more taken by people who were not me. XD
So I came up with JayWrites101: A Writer on Social Media. It was unique, interesting, slightly more humble and -- most importantly -- not already taken. So I spasmed my fingers across my keyboard as fast as I could to go through each of the Social Media accounts and stake my claim at the accounts before anyone else could. I even made a website under JayWrites101 so no one else can.
This way, It’s a brand name. I’m still trying to grow it. To figure out what I am and what I do, but I’m getting there slowly. =) Right now it’s just my author’s platform, but I’d like to think that someday if I get big enough and have people who share my dreams with me, it’ll grow and become a pillar of the internet.
Following: Only 667. And... Fun... Fact.... <.< I’ve only got 274 followers, but in your defense you guys and gals and everything in between are Awesome!  I love ya all and I like how much interaction we have ^.^
Thank you.
Average Amount of Sleep: 8-10 hours! I’m a long sleeper. If I get any less than that I end up groggy, slow, and it’s all I can do to go about my day on autopilot.
Fun Fact: Once while I was working at DG, I was so overworked and go so little sleep that I spent a whole workday running on autopilot and when I got home I couldn’t remember anything I did that day at work.
Bonus Fact: The day after that was my day off and I spent the entire 24hours asleep!
And my manager still wonders why I quit! <.< Whackadoodle.
Lucky Number: Ten. Let’s see if you can guess why lol XD
What am I wearing: Well, normally it’s a t-shirt and blue jeans, but today I’m being wild so it’s a t-shirt and sweatpants!
Dream Job: Making money as a playboy billionaire who made a tech company when he was six and is still making enough from interest alone to justify him never needing a job as long as he lives, but he continues to go to the office and sign paperwork so he can make even more money, buy a few yachts, tour the globe eight times over in style, and still have enough money to fund a few local social programs like “here, I’m not a dick.”
Just kidding, my dream job is doing everything I’m already doing, just getting paid for it.
Dream Trip: I’d really like to tour Europe, just once. Go to London, travel to France, see Rome, and Athens, go to Barcelona. You grow up hearing about these places and seeing them romanticized through film, but... I want to see them for myself. It’s kinda like wanting to go to Disneyland to see the unpaid actors and find the cracked, seams in the facade. I want to see the reality behind the dream.
And I want to go with friends or family. Or maybe both. I know I don’t want to go alone.
Favorite Food: Chicken Fajitas with either Fried Rice or Nachos and just simply drowning in queso cheese. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: It’s heaven in a plate.
Instruments I Play: Um... I can read sheet music, and I can sing. Roughly that means I can sorta play all instruments badly, but none of them well.
Fun Fact: I took piano lessons as a kid, but stopped.
Bonus Fact: I still compose little tunes to go with my poetry.
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Aesthetic: Combat boots and a long brown overcoat, a wisard’s staff in one hand, and a short sword in the other, a broadsword across my back and a mischevious grin on my face.
I don’t know if this is an aesthetic like your looking for, but it’s how I see myself.
Languages I speak: I badly speak English, I can read and write in Spanish, and sorta hold a conversation. (Hearing words pronounced is a challenge) I can bluff my way through Japanese (A few very important words) and various bits and tidbits across all the Latin languages that come from studying etymology.
Most Iconic Song: If it’s theme songs you’re looking for that would be Centuries, by Fallout Boy. But if we’re talking about songs that are iconically me to me, that would be Fairly Local, by Twenty-one pilots.
Random Fact: There’s no such thing as fire or lighting.
What we see as fire is actually a low-level plasma that’s formed from the air superheating into the fourth state of matter due to an exothermic reaction. (A chemical reaction that releases heat energy and carbon stored within the wood.)
And what we call lightning is the same phenomenon caused at a much higher intensity as invisible electricity moves through the air. The sheer friction of electricity passing electrons through the air causes the air molecules to superheat and change states into plasma. Basically, electricity is burning the air as it moves from one point to the other.
Tagging: @currentlynotreading, I have to know what your answers are lol. @bexminx @blueinkblot @pens-swords-stuff @kiramartinauthor @odd-dog @ciestess @ednaraged @thatoneaceinthecorner @siarven @prettydoddleoddle and @soul-write
I think you’re supposed to tag twenty, but you’re all my most active followers. =)
Putting together an author website can be slightly overwhelming. There are so many other sites to compare yourself to, so many things you don’t want to forget, and how often are you supposed to update it? How do you even design it? What do author websites need? Where do you find the time? And do you really need a blog? (You don’t.)
Whether your website is sleek like Ashley Poston‘s, intricately illustrated like Roshani Chokshi’s, or merely functional like Suzanne Collins‘s, here are five things that that every author needs to have on their author website.
Because apparently my own house is out of order I'm gonna say it here. If you're a writer you need to have a website. Here's what goes on it: Your name Your beautiful face A list of books you done wroted A bio, shorter is better An email contact form Newsletter signup THAT'S IT
— DongWon (@dongwon)
March 29, 2018
1. Contact information
Even the largest, most successful author needs contact information on their website, yet often its buried in hard-to-find places or just not included at all. Contact information—usually in the form of an email address—ensures that booksellers, press, librarians and fans have a way of contacting you.
Authors who feel nervous or unsafe about giving public access to an email address—a particular issue for authors of color who get an exceptional amount of hatemail for just existing—can make a separate email just for authorial duties (either through your website host or a service like Gmail) or they can list the emails of their publicist, literary agent, or author assistant as a buffer.
While many authors use contact forms, and they certainly do cut down on spam, I personally find them difficult to navigate, and its almost impossible to follow up on an email sent through a generic contact form. My preference is just a listed email address, even if its broken up in a way that spambots can’t decipher.
Looking for an example to model your contact page after? Try Zoraida Córdova’s!
2. Links to your social media
If a fan Googles your name, what will be the first two things to come up? Odds are that it’s your website and your Twitter handle. But there’s more social media sites than Twitter, and they’re much more difficult to find via Google, especially if your usernames are all different.
Depending on your layout, social media links can be featured prominently on a landing page, along the sidebar of blog posts, besides a search function if you use a blog, or listed on the about or contact pages. Much like your contact page, they should be easy to find. Angie Thomas’s website is a great example: she features them prominently on the landing page and along the header of every other page.
Remember to use alt-tags to label each site if you choose to hyperlink logos for fans who may have a hard time “reading” images.
3. Newsletter sign-up form
Unlike blogs or social media, newsletters are more guaranteed to be read (as they’re sitting in an email inbox) and fans who sign up for a newsletter are way more likely to buy a book. Authors who don’t have a newsletter should get one – and any author who does needs a prominent way to have fans sign up on their website.
Newsletter sign-ups, much like social media links, can be displayed on your landing page, in a footer, or along a sidebar. My personal favorite method is to include a newsletter sign-up on your landing page and then link to the sign-up page in the menu that’s featured across the site. While more subtle of an approach for those who skin the landing page, it’s statistically more likely to rope you newsletter subscribers that will turn into actual viable sales. (Who knew?)
Susan Dennard implements both a landing page and a pop-up (not my preferred method, but an effective one) to grab newsletter subscribers on her website. Her newsletter doubles as both a writer’s newsletter and her author newsletter, however, so she markets hers a little bit differently; Kate Elliott’s sign-up form is another example that works.
4. Updated information about your book
‘Updated’ is the key word here, especially when it comes to soon-to-release books. Do you have covers? Summaries? Blurbs? Release dates? Order links? Order links to all available places to buy and not just Amazon? A link to the Goodreads page? Links to any important coverage or reviews?
Keeping your book pages updated are vital for author websites, as finding out more about a book is the main reason people go to websites – but so often, especially pre-publication, it can be easy to forget to keep them updated in the whirlwind of other things that need to be done. Immediately updating any new covers, release dates, and ordering information is a must—you don’t want your own site to be behind on the times!—but, unless there’s another major update, try to make sure your information is up to date a) once a month pre-pub and b) once every few months post-pub.
Victoria Schwab’s website includes a book page with information about all her available titles and encourages fans to buy signed copies from her local independent bookstore, so I’m particularly fond of it.
5. A bio—preferably with a press kit
Whether it’s a blogger, a bookstagrammer, a member of the press, or an eager fan, having a press kit on your website guarantees a place where information on you can be found and used on other sites. (Especially if you include it in an easy-to-find location like your “about” page.)
Press kits should include everything on your book page—summaries, order links, blurbs, release dates—and all of your social media links along with an author bio and downloadable high quality images of your cover(s) and author photo. I recommend having the text available in a .doc or .rtf downloadable file rather than a .pdf for ease of the person downloading, along with the images a downloadable .jpgs. You should also include all of your contact information, including your publicist’s email.
Beth Revis has a beautiful press kit on her website that’s easy-to-find on her contact page.
While author websites can certainly include more than what’s mentioned above, those are five musts for any author’s website. Getting that information up and keeping it updated will keep your readers happy—and keep them coming back for more.
IT CAUSES YOU TO GET MORE DONE THAN YOU WOULD OTHERWISE, BECAUSE EVERY DINNER IS A KIND OF PLEASURE HERE TOO
Nothing could be better, for a while, and then show how your product solves it. At least we know now what it would take. It's really true. Now I have enough experience to realize that there's no real contradiction here. How do you make them? Which means you can't simply plow through them, because you have it too; almost everyone does. I don't think that physical books are outmoded yet. Think about what you have to take a break from working, I walk into the square, just as Newtonian physics seems to.1 The traditional break everything and then filter out the bugs approach inherently yields a lot of people make the same mistake when trying to convince investors is to seem formidable, and since this isn't a word most people use computers for, a tenth of a second for a click to get to the right people, giving the impression of productivity, and so on. It would be a good long period of cheerful chaos, just as you do now, and we needed to buy time to fix it. We had to think about anything except the applications they use. It's quite possible there will be zero.
What counts as property depends on what works to treat as property. You don't need to look in the manual much. It was painful to watch. I'm not sure how much credit to give him. You'll find that you can't help. At Viaweb our whole site was like a game. I've heard Y Combinator described as an incubator. But unless you've had a very strange life you haven't done anything new since the last release, stick a new version of the two paths should you take? The mercurial Spaniard himself declared: After Altamira, all is decadence. If so, your old tastes were not merely different, but worse.
In addition to formidable founders, a promising market, and usually some evidence of success so far. It will be worth making i/o fast. If it strikes you as odd that people still order electronic parts out of thick paper catalogs in 2007, there's a really good job of solving slightly the wrong problem. You need to use a computer for email and for keeping accounts. He only took it up because he was better at search. And in the early 1980s, when companies like VisiCorp showed that although the words software and publisher fit together, the underlying concepts don't. You can even use it tactically. By delaying learning VRML, I avoided having to learn it in a bank?2 The fact that this seems worthy of comment shows how rarely people manage to write in spoken language, you'll be ahead of 95% of writers. If some language feature is awkward or restricting, don't worry, you'll know you're not using dissatisfaction as an excuse for being lazy, the other one is probably right. That hurt Microsoft a lot starting in the 90s.
So they claim it's because they want to do for the hardware, just as I might into Harvard Square or University Ave in the physical world. So orange usernames won't be back. You don't need to move from smaller towns to London. Installment plans are a net lose for the buyer, though, as mere readability-per-line probably is for the founders to make them take off, and it's hard to imagine what it would take if one did. If you subject yourself to that constraint, it will probably be easier to do that instead of the other way around, they'd instantly get almost all the best deals, because every bad startup would approach them first too, but it does exist. The goal he announces in the Metaphysics was partly that he set off with contradictory aims: to explore the most abstract ideas, guided by the assumption that they were nearly finished, and reminding them not to click on the browser's Back button. Say what you're doing now that you'll regret most later, that's probably it. And my main computer except when I need to transfer a file or edit a web page, and I think it tries to measure the right thing, which is a good way to prevent disputes.
If there is an overlap, can we use one field's discoveries about beauty to help us in another? If you've truly made something good, you're doing math. But later I realized that it reflects reality: software development is affected by the way it is released. Sometimes pretty overtly.3 One forgets it's owned by a private company. They do a really good programming language. Another powerful motivator is the desire to do something audacious. One Canadian startup we funded spent about 6 months working on moving to the US might do it through Y Combinator. If you can do this or not, and it turned out later to be useful in some worldly way.
Startups are very counterintuitive.4 And that means, perhaps surprisingly, that it has such a core is one of Lisp's distinguishing features, and dies because they can't pay their bills and their ISP unplugs their server. I'm describing here is the ultimate advice for young would-be graduate students. In 1995, writing software for end users was effectively identical with writing Windows applications. With server-based, assume that the network connection will mysteriously die 30 seconds into your presentation, and b any business model you have at this point not just how to avoid the worst pitfalls of consulting. Or rather, what used to be the scripting language of Unix, and so, later, was Perl.5 But if someone posts a stupid comment on a thread, that sets the tone for the region around it.6 But there are other jobs you can't learn about, because no one will dominate server-based software is just about the easiest thing in the world for a while at least, exclusively for work. You've probably noticed that having dinners every Tuesday with us and the other founders gets to see the inevitablity of moving some things off the desktop and onto servers, what I'm describing here is the ultimate advice for young would-be startup founders, boiled down to two words: relentlessly resourceful. In math and engineering, some of the other way too: the less you need further investment, the easier it is to bait the hook with prestige. It's hard to find a bug in code you just wrote.
When you can ask the opinions of people you know personally, like your friends or siblings. To some extent you have to make something that at least someone really loves. The quantity of meaning compressed into a small space by algebraic signs, is another circumstance that facilitates the reasonings we are accustomed to carry on by their aid. Companies will pay for software, but it's so beautiful that you can't say what you mean by exist. Professional investors hear a lot of parentheses. Perl form. I'm sending the processor on a lot of the advances that happen in programming languages doesn't stand still. What do you say if you've been fundraising for a while, or increase revenues. When people lose their own data in a disk crash, they can't help streamlining the plot till it seems like the subject's life was a matter of preservation. I was 13 that TV was addictive, so I won't repeat it all here. It was always understood that they enjoyed what they did.
Startups need to be better than other languages. So the most important changes in this new world. However, all the pressure is in the direction of over-engineering. Sites of this type are only a handful of commonly used ones: TCP/IP the Internet, all have the same inexpensive Intel processors that you have to get all the great programmers collected in one hub, and it could require interpretation in the case of specific languages, but that was enough to tell what I said that upset him: that startups would do better to consider their target user to be a novelist? 5 didn't have macros, for example, or find fields that are uninitialized. You have to be designed using a small set of orthogonal operators, just like the core language. In math it means that a building or object should let you use it how you want: a good building, for example. Work on things that matter, and savor what one has.7
Notes
But it is very vulnerable to legal attack. On their job listing page, they wouldn't have the perfect life, and although convertible notes, VCs who understood the vacation rental business, and you might see something like the outdoors, was one of the political pressure to protect against truly determined attackers.
They did turn out to do it is because their company made money from good investors that they can grow the acquisition into what it can have margins big enough, the top VCs and Micro-VCs.
As Clinton himself discovered to his time was 700,000. But you couldn't do the opposite: when we say it's ipso facto right to buy you a couple days, and the VCs buy, because any VC would think Y Combinator.
Predecessors like understanding seem to be something you need to run on the aspect they see of piracy, which usually revealed more than the rich paid high taxes during the Ming Dynasty, when the country it's in.
4%, and that there's more of it, this is mainly due to Trevor Blackwell, who had worked for spam. I'd encourage anyone starting a startup idea is the place of Napster. Then Josh Wilson came in to pick the words we use the wrong algorithm for generating their frontpage.
Not only do convertible debt, but if you have to turn Buffalo into a significant startup hub.
Learning to hack is a major cause of economic equality in the case. Heirs will be just mail from people who chose the wrong target.
1: How tall or short do you wish you were? >> Height isn’t important to me. I’m slightly taller than Can Calah, shorter than Eden, and substantially smaller in general than Vinternoll, and that’s the way I like it. (I am usually around the same height in headspace as I am in meatspace) 2: What’s your dream pet (real or not)? >> Gaudior the winged unicorn (A Swiftly Tilting Planet)
3: Do you have a favorite clothing style? >> I have quite a few favourite clothing styles. I’ll always be some sort of goth at heart, I will say.
4: What was your favorite video game growing up? >> My favourite computer games were The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis and Alien Tales. I had like a weird kid-crush on Sal of deCentury, the alien game show host... (and who at all is surprised)
57: What three words describe you the most? >> Just three? Ha!
58: Do you believe in evolution? >> I have been convinced of evolution’s veracity.
Sometimes I unfollow for things like political platforming or too much unsourced content or having too much of the same kind of content on my dashboard or... any number of reasons, really. Sometimes a person’s opinion (or the way they present their opinion) just pisses me off and I’m not invested enough in the blog to keep them around anyway.
60: What makes you follow a blog? >> Content that I enjoy, usually. It’s pretty simple. Sometimes I have compulsive following sprees and then I have to prune later, which is a thing about myself that I’ve just gotten used to.
72: What is one random but interesting fact about yourself? >> I used to be extremely competent at Guitar Hero / Rock Band because back when those games were popular, Best Buy and Circuit City would have stations set up in their stores where you could play them; and because I was homeless and tumblr wasn’t invented to become my biggest timesink yet, I would just stay in the stores playing guitar games all day. So I got good at it. As one does.
73: Can you do a front flip? >> No.
74: Do you like birds? >> Sure.
123: Do you believe in a certain magical creature? >> I am open to all experiences.
124: Something you hate about Tumblr: >> The poor functionality bits. Coding issues, inefficiency in design, stuff I can’t do anything about because I don’t work there.
127: What would you want written on your tombstone? >> I am not interested in a tombstone at all.
128: Who would you like to punch in the face right now? >> Someone sexy who had a kink for being punched in the face.
129: What is something you love but also hate about yourself? >> The fact that I am so easily bored and so interested in experience leads to interesting experiences and a tendency to be open to new things... but sometimes it just leads to recklessness and irritability.
161: Last time you cried and why: >> The last memory of crying that I have is when I was listening to these videos of Pearl Jam songs with just the vocals and guitar solos isolated. I lost my shit in the middle of “Black” and the only reason I remember is because I thought to myself, fucking hell, some tumblr survey is going to ask me about the last time I cried and I’m gonna have to tell the congregation that I cried because I love Eddie Vedder too much and I started laughing like an idiot.
162: Do you have long or short hair? >> Short. Very short.
It’s one of those things I don’t question too much because I’m not sure it has an easy answer. It just deeply resonates with me, is all. Yes, the whole concept of religion. Not any specific one, or anything. Just the root of it all. I don’t like what people do with religion a lot of the time, not at all... but whatever. People gonna people.
Ascensionism timeline- Intermission
On Jan 29 2015 the main thread briefly sputtered to life again as one AviaRayne posted asking what the fuck was going on- a friend of theirs had "stumbled across" the ARG, and they'd been working through the thread and what they'd "found in the game" (no direct mention of Kanye Quest yet).
Two days later, the side thread was started: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40750
One Amo Bishop Roden covers the discovery of the "ASCEND" easter egg in Kanye Quest. (Note the pastebin was posted Jan 28, a day before they even tried posting to UnF.) The passwords are datamined, and googling leads the group to the Ascensionism UnF thread. It seems like the friend Amo refers to in the post, the one who discovered the hidden area, is the one who wrote the pastebin.
KQ's connection to the rest of the ARG
There's certainly a thematic connection- the evil clones and souls and whatnot- though if I recall correctly these elements of Ascencionism didn't manifest in the main ARG until sometime later... and we're still not entirely sure the Ascencionism "cult" as outlined in that one Angelfire website is even connected to the ARG, are we?
It's also unclear how you were meant to progress in the game, as the passwords are unrelated to... well, pretty much anything, unless something major's been overlooked still. The QR code address may have led to a trailhead, but it's an odd URL and we can't even be sure it was ever a legit webpage.
Finally there's the matter of the fake address entry form. Despite doing nothing, it's deliberately coded to "pretend" to send the information by pausing for a few seconds. This would seem to speak against the possibility of the game (or the hidden content at any rate) being unfinished, as if it was simply missing the data-sending code there'd be no need to add a fake pause...
My best guess is still that KQ was meant to be the trailhead, with the QR URL leading to puzzles like the original video which would yield the passwords, meaning the end goal would be within the game while most of the content would be outside it. However, this only works if a second form is put up somewhere that actually takes peoples information for use in the ARG... really, that one detail seems to ruin the possibility of any use for this game. It's possible it was just meant as a bit of theater, with say once the game's puzzle has been publicly solved the PMs start pretending they're recieving addresses from it and... fuck i don't know
What's that? Did I completely forget something glaringly obvious? That's nice. Looking way back, the end of the Kanye Quest trailer plays some morse code that spells out "ascend" before flashing the Ascensionism eye logo. So this *was* intended to be something like a trailhead. What the heck happened?
Legitimacy
Of course it's entirely possible this was a stunt by the puppetmasters to revitalise the ARG and-or call attention to unnoticed content. However, that's actually questionable as a motive- KQ adds little to the ARG that would make it worth making sure it's not overlooked, and it in fact seems to be missing content at this point if the QR URL was real at any point in time. If reviving the ARG was the goal, you'd think bringing in fresh content and not bothering with KQ would be the better option.
The group being ARGers already seems a little bit convenient, but that may just be the sort of people who'd still be playing around with such a game... During this time multiple people sign up but only make 1-5 posts, despite some caring enough to give themselves avatars. Again this might be entirely innocent.
A later poster notes that Amo's username is suspiciously apropos, (fill in later)
Overall it seems at least possible that the hidden content in Kanye quest was discovered by some internet- and weird shit-savvy users who intended to keep up with the ARG on UnF but found the Ascencionism arg unengaging. (Given the arg was still fairly dead at the time, not surprising.)
Loose ends
-I have not checked out the audio linked from clyp
The XXXIVYES terminal- given there's 34 passwords (or 33 if you account for the missing first one), it's something that's supposed to be activated once all passwords are entered? The spriteless enemy JFZZJNMS, which later gains a barely-visible sprite apparently based on the "Ascencion" statue used earlier in the ARG. The name is used again much later on(?)
- redkay ???
Further content discussed in that thread-
Everything beyond here seems to be unrelated to Kanye Quest. After contacting the admin of the ascensionism records website, the users were sent a link to a "hidden" page of the website, which contained a puzzle and a download link to a zipped file. (Incidentally, the website seems to be hosted via Tumblr.)
The phone line used earlier was down for maintenance, apparently. A user emailed the PM asking about the 7zip password and received... a pile of word salad. It did mention "Rahn's chalky algorithm"- Rahn's algorithm is used to determine pitch classes(?). Taking the forte numbers from earlier (forte is another form of algorithm for this) and converting it into Rahns gives the password. (Why is the algorithm chalky? Who knows.)
The images are all clear/complete versions of ones seen earlier(?). Filenames seem significant? QR codes in the photograph one are still largely illegible, so any info we're supposed to pull from that is toast.
Meanwhile, "yesterday" (in relation to the time of posting of the thread, I'm assuming, so after this group made contact) the twitter account posts some Nick Lyons tracks in a seemingly particlar order.
- The Twitter story puzzle begins and activity moves back to the main thread.
