anon i am not sure why you're asking me since i have never really posted about it!

my take is i'm vehemently opposed to everything they did with doof in season s2. i won't belabor that point. but i think the core premise of the show, in season 1, is really strong, i'm a huge fan of weird al and he does incredible work as milo. so it's worth watching season 1 and giving the show a chance, it's a really high-concept show that doesn't like... QUITE meet the high bar it sets for itself. but the main thing, is, dakota is the hottest character every conceived. i dont think any character could ever be as sexy as vinnie dakota. my god. vinnie dakota

not to get all "actually☝️" about it but. the whole point of this is the fact that it isn't at all eddie's fault and buck just doesn't know how to properly process or recognize his feelings and know what he's missing *until* he gets presented with a specific situation. in truth buck has no right to be mad at eddie for building bonds with other ppl and it's why he has to do some introspection. this is not a "oh no poor buck eddie apologize to him!!!" thing, it's about buck getting, for lack of a better term, a good emotional humbling. eddie deserves good friendships and relationships, full stop. and if he likes the way he feels when he hangs out with tommy then great!! he's his own person and not a tool to further buck's character. but you also can't expect buck to immediately recognize that because, again, and for the millionth time, the whole POINT is that he doesn't. so if it has to get ugly and uncomfortable and embarrassing for him to do so then that is what will happen and that doesn't make either of them bad people. this is not a blame to be passing around. it's just them being human beings

Every time I re-watch Eddie in episode 1 of S4 I'm like hmm I might have made this competent, self-assured young man a little too baby in my writing. But then we get to the boat house scene in the next ep where he's trembling, mumbling and humming to himself as he struggles to speak and I'm like ah that's right, never mind.

i finally finished tgcf!!! I definitely had some gripes at times about the pacing (just a personal taste thing, I like short/quick paced things and it felt like it dragged sometimes) but everything from volume 6 onwards was absolutely Crazy, I loved it so much. a lot of those final battles felt extremely cinematic, I felt like I was watching the climax of a shonen anime or something. I also get why people say hualian invented love now, oh my god their love story is beautiful. hua cheng's speech while he's disappearing... I will not be recovering. I love how happy they are in the extras too, I love how much they tease each other :') they deserve this joy after all the shit they've been through
