anon i am not sure why you're asking me since i have never really posted about it!

my take is i'm vehemently opposed to everything they did with doof in season s2. i won't belabor that point. but i think the core premise of the show, in season 1, is really strong, i'm a huge fan of weird al and he does incredible work as milo. so it's worth watching season 1 and giving the show a chance, it's a really high-concept show that doesn't like... QUITE meet the high bar it sets for itself. but the main thing, is, dakota is the hottest character every conceived. i dont think any character could ever be as sexy as vinnie dakota. my god. vinnie dakota

Every time I re-watch Eddie in episode 1 of S4 I'm like hmm I might have made this competent, self-assured young man a little too baby in my writing. But then we get to the boat house scene in the next ep where he's trembling, mumbling and humming to himself as he struggles to speak and I'm like ah that's right, never mind.

i mean I didn't have high expectations but damn I was not happy with that ending. he died, it was sad, I was close to tears. Eddie survives ok they could have had them like die together but ok. but then instead of wrapping up all the grief and loss and how his life just got turned upside down again . theyre just all like and the memories bring back memories bring back you (first of all a song I pesonally find quite annoying and overdone) ?!? its been like a day ??? Eddie only just realised his best friend is gone and then they let him be sad for 5 seconds before they immediately throw him into the sentimental "oh what good times we had - I'll never forget you" crap. I mean- come on now- let the man grieve - let US grieve. oh and then that fucking insetive-ass outro music what the hell.

generally I didn't like the premise. it felt very forced, introducing this whole new all important key that venom has suddenly (pls let me know if the villain and/or key thing is introduced in any other marvel movies and/or comics, I've only ever seen the movies) but even if they introduced these plot points somewhere else, in this movie it felt very sudden and against everything we've known about venom and the symbiotes so far. I thought venom was the looser in his home planet . I thought he was outcast and hated and bullied. if that is true, why is he now suddenly have the most important key that decides if all life forms of this universe live or die??? when did he become that important??

anyway I'm not here to just hate on the movie. I saw so much potential in it too - so many threads that could have lead to something more. something more thoughtful , more existential. and I know that not wy the general audience is there . people like they're cool monsters fighting each other I get it. but it was just sad seeing these scenes that could have a mounted to something, just left discarded or rushed to be done with. For example: Eddie struggling with uncertainty about his situation, his actions, the future ,longing for normality, but at the same time not wanting to let go of venom and knowing he won't ever be able to return to a 'normal life' (even though the end of the movies tries to convince you that everything's great this was all good and everything's back o normal now he can lead a normal life yayyy) the sprinkle in these deeper more thought provoking scenes but then discard them. it's sad to see.

if you enjoyed the movie, good! I wish I would have too. I laughed at the jokes and some scenes actually made me emotial. the death scene was kinda brutal ngl. (once again imagine you see your best friend die like that, sacrifice themselves like that, and then you wake up from nearly dying and some military dude just confirms he's dead and will never come back and to just 'go live your life now' I would have a complete breakdown ) I liked it. they just messed up a lot of parts and overall as a movie I think it wasn't very good. it was a marvel threequal if I've ever seen one to say the least.

okay for a guy who entirely missed out on emh when it happened. Is there still a way to actually experience it as a complete thing still. seeing as so much of it was hosted on so many different platforms and idk how many of them still exist to be looked at im INTIMIDATED... but i miss slenderman i want to see it. how useful are the nightmind videos on it... help

the nightmind videos are basically the best way to start the series because he compiles all the blog posts and tweets explaining what happened in between each early video, and the highlights of the early livestreams. AND he explains the trials and the packages that got sent out. That includes the highlighted parts of the books in the packages and what that meant for the series. Basically analysis that the fans were doing at the time it was coming out. THAT BEING SAID! There's some videos that he just briefly summarizes or brushes over, and theyre still fun to watch even if theyre less relevant to the overall story.

So tbh i recommend watching the Nightminds, and watching the subsequent videos as he's covering them. I would say from... this video onward ish (its a little bit into part 4 of the explanation videos. watch that for yourself)

The twists and scares are better experienced that way without nightmind over your shoulder explaining whats up. and if youre confused, just go back to the explanation vids! (especially before jim thorpe. there's a lot of shenanigans to explain there) Also once u watch the later vids, you can skip around the explained parts 5-7 bc NM puts a lot of just the full videos in so it goes by faster

ALSO! this playlist is the most complete one ive seen, it has not just the series itself, but the videos of the fans opening the habit packages, the crossover episodes with the other SV series, and the really long discovered audio tapes from the end of the series (which i was there for the discovery of, super cool! :D)
