Warnings:this series will include dark elements which may include bullying, noncon or dubcon, or violent behaviour. Mind the warnings.
Summary: a group project leads to a tense partnership.
Character: Walter Marshall
Big thanks to those who read! Feedback always helps inspire and you know I’m always happy to chat about possibilities! Please reblog and comment ❤️
Despite feeling entirely out of place, you can’t resist the draw of sleep. Nestled on the couch beneath a blanket, a soft pillow under your head, you drift away from the tension rippling off your study buddy. Even in the next room, you sense the density in the air.
You’re so tired, you hear yourself snoring from the depths of your unconscious. Your brain is sludge and your dreams are murky. You only wake up as you sense the murmur of voices.
You open your eyes to the glare of the TV in the pale light of day. You rub your cheek as your vision clears. You blink at the screen as the teen drama plays out.
“You snore louder than my dad,” Faye snorts. “Morning, sunshine.”
You lurch up, almost top-turning from the suddenness of it all. You remember where you are in an instant. You knead your temple as you try to sort yourself out.
“Um, good morning,” you croak through your dry throat. “How are you feeling?”
“Better,” she grins, still in her pajamas as she drapes her legs over the armrest of the chair. “How about you?”
“Urgh, tired,” you drop your hand as the blanket falls to your lap. “Sorry, I should go--”
“Daaaad,” Faye hollers over you.
You flinch and turn as you hear footsteps. As you glance over, Walter emerges in a bathroom. You can tell by the glimpse of his furry chest and the glisten in his curls that he just got out of the shower.
“Your friend’s awake.” She chirps.
He looks at you and his shoulders square. He really doesn’t like you. You can’t help but wonder why he insisted you stay.
“It’s alright, I’m just about to head out,” you stand and fold the blanket and set it neatly on the cushion. “Thanks, again.”
“You should at least have breakfast. Dad made waffles.”
“Waffles? Oh,” you glance at him. “I wouldn’t want to... impose.”
“No big deal, I saved some batter. Iron heats up in a snap,” he shrugs.
You face him as you cross the room. You stop by the doorway into the entry, “it’s very nice of you but I’m okay. I really should try to catch a bus.”
“Gimme a few and I’ll drive you.” He offers.
“Really, it’s...”
He’s already stalking away before you can finish your protest. You sigh and grimace at his back. He really doesn’t give you a chance to argue. With anything. Would it be easier to just have him look at the paper before you go and tell you everything that’s wrong?
“My dad likes you,” Faye giggles. “He doesn’t like anyone.”
“Um, I don’t think so,” you lean on the doorframe and stare at the TV, trying to make sense of the snarky conversation.
“He does,” she insists. “I know, I’m the only other person he likes.”
“Sure,” you tut. “Does it matter? I just need to get this project done.”
“Don’t you think it’s funny? My dad taking a writing course? He doesn’t really seem like the creative type. More the bashing skulls type,” she cackles.
“I don’t really know... him.”
“What did you think when he showed up? I’d be pissing my pants,” she doesn’t look away from the TV as she speaks.
“I don’t know, I thought someone named Walter would be skinnier... maybe have glasses and a pension?”
She laughs even louder, “oof, don’t say that too loud.”
You let yourself smile. She’s not a bad kid. If you were her age, you might be friends.
“I’m just going to get my stuff together,” you say, “uh, Faye, it was nice to meet you.”
“You too. Nice to have someone around to keep the wolf from coming out in the full moon,” she snipes.
You snicker softly and leave her. The analogy isn’t far off. Walter does fit the type. He’s a bit furry after all.
You check that everything’s in your bag and ben to put on your shoes. You pull on your jacket and Walter appears; he wears a black hoodie and dark jeans. He pulls on a jacket and leaves it undone before he grabs his boots.
You zip up your coat and hook your bag on your shoulder, “thanks, again. You know, I have a bus pass.”
He grumbles and you quiet. Don’t push your luck. Hopefully he only needs to revise a little and you can be done with all this.
You flinch as he suddenly moves toward you. Your eyes round and you hit the door with your back. He tilts his head as he reaches past you for the handle. You look down and cringe.
“Sorry, I wasn’t... paying attention.”
He hums and you shift out of his way. He opens the door and lets you out first. You step into the sunshine, a deceptive beacon as your breath puffs out visibly. You cross your arms as he locks the door.
He gestures you ahead of him to his truck. You go down the walk and to the driveway. You wait on the passenger side until the locks click. You open the door and climb in. He has a much easier time stepping into the high vehicle.
He pulls his seatbelt down as you do the same. He turns the engine and lets it rumble as he turns the dials for the vent. He checks the mirrors and grips the wheel in one hand. He leans his elbow on the arm rest as he backs out.
“You know,” he says as he rights the tires. “I got eye surgery so I don’t need the glasses anymore.”
You squint at his remark. What? It takes a moment before you realise. Shoot.
“It was a joke,” you say. “Obviously...”
“No pension for another fifteen years at least and, well, helps to have a bit of bulk in my line of work.”
Your cheeks burn in embarrassment. You really didn’t mean anything.
“I’m sorry, I... yeah, I say stupid things.”
He’s quiet as he steers. He sucks his teeth as he stops at a sign, “it was a good joke. Better than Faye’s werewolf schtick.”
“Oh, uh, right,” you flick your thumb nervously.
“You seem like the werewolf type. Know any good books?” He asks.
“Werewolf type? Um, didn’t think I put out that vibe but... maybe Mongrels? I don’t read a lot about that stuff actually.”
“Mongrels,” he nods. “I’ll check it out.”
You’re almost flattered that he’d take your recommendation, less so that he thinks you’re a Twilight girlie. You stare through the windshield and take the victory for what it is. You don’t think you’ll be getting any more than that.

AU where solomon is much more shadier
“What do ya’ want?”
It was a growl, raspy around the edge. He bares his teeth, posture hunched as if he was ready to pounce. Solomon blinks at him, taking a step forward.
“What do you mean?” His mouth pursed, calm voice light and airy.
The air in the Avatar of Greed’s lungs seemed to be screaming for release, chest heaving up and down.
“What are you doing here?” Mammon barked back, fingers clenching around nothing. His nails pierce into the palms of his hands, crescent-shaped marks left on them.
The sorcerer smiles, folding his hands gently in front of him.
“Visiting my apprentice, what else?”
“Stop it.” Mammon takes in a deep breath, irises flashing gold as his jaw clenches. Sweaty palms rub up and down his thighs, sweat trickling into the indent of his palm.
It hurts.
He grits his jaw harder.
“You shouldn’t be here.”
Quick movement as he tries to sidestep the demon, aiming to reach the door’s front to ring the doorbell. “Doing your job as a guard dog, aren’t you?”
“Did your owner praise you today?”
The demon refuses to move, stationing himself starkly in front of the door. The sorcerer’s breath ghosts against his neck and the cool inhale of his breath strengthens his resolve.
He can’t let this wicked man pass him.
“You—“
“Solomon?”
He recognises that voice.
At once, all tension leaves his body yet he still stands there warily, hackles up. You open the door, peering confusedly at the scene in front of you.
“Mams?” He jolts back like his leash has been pulled. He can’t let you see him in this state. Forcing a smile, he hides his hands behind his back. “What are you doing?”
“My apprentice!” In a blink, the sorcerer sidesteps him with his arms up high. Momentarily, he half-turns, leaning down in a pretense to pat Mammon on the back.
“Good boy.” He whispers, a smug smirk on his face that the demon was itching to smack off.
Mammon unclenches his fist.
an: found this in my draft & finished it up. believe this was when I was trying to deepen tension in my scenes

Things Real People Do in Dialogue (For Your Next Story)
Okay, let’s be real—dialogue can make or break a scene. You want your characters to sound natural, like actual humans talking, not robots reading a script. So, how do you write dialogue that feels real without it turning into a mess of awkward pauses and “ums”? Here’s a little cheat sheet of what real people actually do when they talk (and you can totally steal these for your next story):
1. People Interrupt Each Other All the Time In real conversations, nobody waits for the perfect moment to speak. We interrupt, cut each other off, and finish each other's sentences. Throw in some overlaps or interruptions in your dialogue to make it feel more dynamic and less like a rehearsed play.
2. They Don’t Always Say What They Mean Real people are masters of dodging. They’ll say one thing but mean something totally different (hello, passive-aggressive banter). Or they’ll just avoid the question entirely. Let your characters be vague, sarcastic, or just plain evasive sometimes—it makes their conversations feel more layered.
3. People Trail Off... We don’t always finish our sentences. Sometimes we just... stop talking because we assume the other person gets what we’re trying to say. Use that in your dialogue! Let a sentence trail off into nothing. It adds realism and shows the comfort (or awkwardness) between characters.
4. Repeating Words Is Normal In real life, people repeat words when they’re excited, nervous, or trying to make a point. It’s not a sign of bad writing—it’s how we talk. Let your characters get a little repetitive now and then. It adds a rhythm to their speech that feels more genuine.
5. Fillers Are Your Friends People say "um," "uh," "like," "you know," all the time. Not every character needs to sound polished or poetic. Sprinkle in some filler words where it makes sense, especially if the character is nervous or thinking on their feet.
6. Not Everyone Speaks in Complete Sentences Sometimes, people just throw out fragments instead of complete sentences, especially when emotions are high. Short, choppy dialogue can convey tension or excitement. Instead of saying “I really think we need to talk about this,” try “We need to talk. Now.”
7. Body Language Is Part of the Conversation Real people don’t just communicate with words; they use facial expressions, gestures, and body language. When your characters are talking, think about what they’re doing—are they fidgeting? Smiling? Crossing their arms? Those little actions can add a lot of subtext to the dialogue without needing extra words.
8. Awkward Silences Are Golden People don’t talk non-stop. Sometimes, they stop mid-conversation to think, or because things just got weird. Don’t be afraid to add a beat of awkward silence, a long pause, or a meaningful look between characters. It can say more than words.
9. People Talk Over Themselves When They're Nervous When we’re anxious, we tend to talk too fast, go back to rephrase what we just said, or add unnecessary details. If your character’s nervous, let them ramble a bit or correct themselves. It’s a great way to show their internal state through dialogue.
10. Inside Jokes and Shared History Real people have history. Sometimes they reference something that happened off-page, or they share an inside joke only they get. This makes your dialogue feel lived-in and shows that your characters have a life beyond the scene. Throw in a callback to something earlier, or a joke only two characters understand.
11. No One Explains Everything People leave stuff out. We assume the person we’re talking to knows what we’re talking about, so we skip over background details. Instead of having your character explain everything for the reader’s benefit, let some things go unsaid. It’ll feel more natural—and trust your reader to keep up!
12. Characters Have Different Voices Real people don’t all talk the same way. Your characters shouldn’t either! Pay attention to their unique quirks—does one character use slang? Does another speak more formally? Maybe someone’s always cutting people off while another is super polite. Give them different voices and patterns of speech so their dialogue feels authentic to them.
13. People Change the Subject In real life, conversations don’t always stay on track. People get sidetracked, jump to random topics, or avoid certain subjects altogether. If your characters are uncomfortable or trying to dodge a question, let them awkwardly change the subject or ramble to fill the space.
14. Reactions Aren’t Always Immediate People don’t always respond right away. They pause, they think, they hesitate. Sometimes they don’t know what to say, and that delay can speak volumes. Give your characters a moment to process before they respond—it’ll make the conversation feel more natural.
Important note: Please don’t use all of these tips in one dialogue at once.

Dead Man's Diner pt3
Dick knew that Tim was sending him looks every few seconds.
How could he not? This places food names were honestly the best, if this was some kinda murder cult Dick would be so disappointed.
Glancing up over the menu at Danny, Dick smiled at the teen who had been whipping down the same cup for five minutes like some wild west bartender while trying very hard not to stare at the two vigilantes.
"Okay, I think I have made up my mind, Red you got what you wanted?" Finally meeting Tim's eyes, Dick mentally winced, Tim's eyes were doing that twitchy thing that happened sometimes...
"Yes. I am." Dick understand slightly but like...the puns weren't that bad
Out of the corner of his eye Dick saw Danny pop up, nearly slamming the mug he had been holding as he fumbled with a note pad, coming closer to the two, he did a pretty decent customer service smile as he waited.
Since Tim was having a problem with words, Dick went first.
"So, I'll have some Boo-berry Poltergeist pancakes, with two sunny side up eggs and a side of bacon?" Dick watched as Danny paused for a moment, let out a little laugh and then started to write before looking to Tim.
"I will have...Ugh, the Wraith waffles with the hunting hashbrowns on the side...please." Dick had seen Tim look less pained over being stabbed than say the wonderful puns.
"Alrighty, anything to drink before I head back and get started on your order?" Holding up a coffee jug in one hand and an orange juice jug in the other, Danny gave a slight smirk.
Perhaps it was the coffee but Tim looked a bit less pained after that.
---
As he slapped down a few pieces of bacon, Danny totally didn't use his ghost powers to bring the bowl of pancake batter over closer as he scooped a ladle full on a freshly buttered side of the flat top, making sure it set first, Danny heard a beep from the frier, heading over he paused to see French fries in there as well.
Shaking his head, he dunked them all into the oil, and moved to set the timer only to see it already clicking down, "Oh um...thank you very much." Patting the deep frier, Danny moved back to the flat top as it let out a gurgling purr.
---
Tim took all of five seconds after Danny rounded the corner into the back of the house to start whispering
"Wing, this place is mocking me. Apple apparition pie? Haunting Hashbrowns? Ethereal fucking eggs benedict." Hissing Tim shifted in his seat, "like I would get it if this place was ghost themed but it very clearly isnt! It is mocking me because I know this place doesn't exist!" Slamming a fist down on the counter, it very much thudded.
Sharing a look with Tim, Dick placed a hand on Tim's shoulder, "Buddy...I agree there is something up with this place but...I very much think it exists? Since we are kinda sitting here."
Dragging his hand down his face with a groan Tim leaned back in his seat, "I know and it is infuriating me..." Grabbing the coffee mug Tim looked at it with a not insignificant amount of distrust before taking a swig, pausing, than taking another, much slower sip, holding the mug with both hands as he lowered it down, staring at the dark liquid with a small glare.
"Red? You okay? Is that the bad coffee look ot oh shittake mushrooms that was poisoned look?" Dick said worryingly, looking to the cup of orange juice that was in front of him with suspicion.
"N-no...I" Tim's words cut off as he took a breath, "Just...tastes just like the kind Mom used to drink, came from this little town in Chile they passed through..." staring at the cup a little longer Tim shook his head, "They closed a few years back, the farmer that made it got killed by a drug cartel that wanted him to plant coca rather than coffee, it's just that this place should very much not have this."
There was a tension between the two vigilantes, Dick moving to speak before being cut off by Danny quickly coming out from the back.
"Order up! Got two pancakes for Mr. Nightwing, side of bacon and eggs and two waffles for Mr. Red Robin with some hasbrowns!" Setting each plate down in front of said vigilante, Danny gave them both a grin.
"And a side of Phantom fries for both of you on the house!"
After refilling the little bit missing out of Tim's cup, Danny seemed to be to there one second and back in the kitchen a moment later.
---
"Phantom fries?" Danny whispered to himself as he started to clean off the griddle, a grin on his face as he did, he might of left the hero business, but oh God was it funny, he wondered if other people got the same fun out of it.
Checking out on he customers through the small window to the front, Danny felt his core thrum at the sight of the two eating, it was a different kind of thrum that he got while protecting people, this one...this one gave him a full body shudder and cleared a fog in his mind he didn't even he had.
Shaking his head, Danny tried not to let the purr building in his chest out.
---
Screw the worries that Tim had, Dick was having the time of his life.
"We can't tell the others about this place Red...Little wing would try and place it in the Alley and B might try and buy it cus holy guacamole this shit is good..." Dick had dug in after Tim's wrist mounted computer had tested the food for any known poisons which said that there weren't any, but still went and saved a few samples for further analysis at the Cave.
Dick didn't know why but the pancakes tasted like those that Alfred made the first week he had been at the manor, he had gotten upset at Brcue and hid in the attic all day, but Alfred managed to lure him down with the promise of blueberries in his pancakes.
They were perfectly fluffy, butter soaked with that little edge around it that was crunchy, the berries were tart enough to battle the maple syrup and...it was just like how Dick remembered.
Shaking his head as he finished up his food, Dick threw a look over at Tim, who was hunched over his empty plate, holding his mug of coffee closer, at Dicks questioning look the teen spoke.
"We have to leave Wing something is just...off about this place, its...they taste like when my dad used to make breakfast after coming home from a dig...has to be brain waves or mind reading or..." Tim continued to ramble on, ideas flowing out of him like a water fall.
By the time that Danny went back to check on the two, they were gone.

Hello!! I have a request for you!
So I was just thinking how if yuji maybe had a crush on someone and didn’t really know who to ask for advice since nobara would straight up laugh at him, and megumi wouldn’t really care. He knows the reader and Nanami are happily married so he decided to ask him for advice on how to ask the girl out!
This is the cutest thing ever, had to write that asap
Yuji asking Kento Nanami and his wife for relationship advice
Pairing: husband!Nanami x reader; Yuji x reader in a mother/son kinda way
Word Count: 1,8k
Synopsis: If there's one couple that comes to his mind when he thinks about relationships, it has to be you and Nanami-sensei. Who else to ask for relationship advice if not you and him, then?
Warnings: this is pure fluff with a tint of comedy y'all, I'm in love with the Yuji and Nanami content, just a little happiness to brighten your day hehe
Yuji Itadori wanders the halls of Jujutsu High with a slight blush dusting his cheeks. He’s been doing everything he can to pretend everything is normal, but the fact is, he’s got something weighing on him - and it’s not cursed spirits for once. He’s been distracted during training, missing cues and slipping up in ways that aren’t like him. Megumi and Nobara have noticed, but his usual grin deflects their concern. What they don’t know is that there’s a girl he can’t stop thinking about, and Yuji doesn’t know a damn thing about what to do about it.
Which is how he finds himself searching for someone to give him advice - someone who’ll listen without teasing or judgment. He’s crossed Nobara off the list right away, imagining her hysterical laughter that would probably echo through the halls. Megumi was next, but he knew his friend would just shrug and say he didn’t know much about dating either. It isn’t until later that Yuji remembers someone he admires, someone who actually knows about relationships.
But how is he supposed to talk to you?
His footsteps quicken as he makes his way toward Nanami’s office. He knocks twice, then stands there awkwardly without waiting for a reply.
“Come in- Oh, there you are.”
Yuji pushes open the door to find not just Nanami sitting at his desk, but you, his wife, by his side. His heartbeat quickens in an instant. Normally, you don’t spend much time here at Jujutsu High – just like Nanami-sensei himself. It has to mean something that you’re here today when he was just thinking about you, right? Maybe this is the best chance he’ll get in his search for answers.
The two of you have become something of a constant for Yuji, the calm among the chaos that surrounds Jujutsu High. He’s seen the way Nanami looks at you, the subtle way his hand will brush against yours, or the soft look that crosses his face when you laugh. Yuji’s always admired it, but he’s never really thought about it being something he’d want too - until recently.
“Oh, Yuji,” you greet him warmly, your smile immediately easing some of the tension in his chest.
“Is everything okay?”
“Oh! Yeah!”
He shuffles from one foot to the other, trying to work out the right way to say this. Damn, this is even more awkward than he thought.
“I was, um, actually hoping to get some advice? Like… relationship advice?”
He glances at Nanami, who’s watching him with his usual steady gaze, then looks back at you, unsure how to continue.
You exchange a look with your husband before patting the chair next to you, gesturing for Yuji to take a seat with a bright smile and a slight blush creeping up your oh so gorgeous face. No wonder even Nanami-sensei fell head over heels for you.
“Of course, Yuji,” you reply, and there’s a softness in your voice that makes him feel like it’s okay to ask for help.
“What’s going on?”
Yuji sinks into the chair, cheeks still tinged pink as he starts to fidget with his fingers. There’s no turning back now.
“There’s this girl. She’s… she’s really nice and funny and strong, and she’s got this great smile and I, uh…”
He takes a breath, unsure how to continue without sounding like an idiot.
“I think I like her. I just don’t know how to… you know, tell her.”
Nanami raises an eyebrow, clearly listening but keeping quiet, letting you take the lead. He never thought that someone like Yuji would ask him for advice in something apart from sorcery. But on the other hand…
Nanami’s gaze drifts over you, your warm and welcoming features, how you take in every little thing Yuji says with those little reassuring nods. If there’s someone who’s able to help Yuji, it has to be you. After all, you were the first woman in his life that swept him off his feet.
You smile, leaning forward a little in order to make Yuji feel more comfortable.
“That’s exciting, Yuji. I’m glad you’re thinking about it, even if it feels a little intimidating. Do you know if she might feel the same way?”
Yuji shrugs, grinning sheepishly.
“I have no idea. I think we get along, but I don’t want to make things weird, you know?”
“Understandable,” Nanami throws in, voice calm and composed.
“Rushing into something like this can make things awkward, especially if you don’t fully understand how she feels. But it’s also not wrong to want to make your intentions clear if you truly like her.”
You nod in agreement, a little surprised by the way your usually so quiet husband now took the lead to give his student relationship advice.
“Exactly. Sometimes, a small step can give you some clarity on how she feels too. You don’t have to go all in at once.”
Yuji looks at you both thoughtfully, clearly absorbing every word.
“But how? Like, I don’t know what to say to her. Should I… compliment her or something?”
You chuckle softly, trying to keep your tone light so he doesn’t feel embarrassed.
“Well, a genuine compliment never hurts. But maybe instead of going straight for it, just try spending a little more time with her first. Get a sense of her interests, things she’s passionate about. You’re naturally friendly, Yuji, so use that to your advantage.”
Yuji’s eyes widen, like a lightbulb just went off in his head.
“That… actually makes sense! If I ask her about stuff she likes, then maybe she’ll see I’m interested, right?”
“Exactly,” you reply, smiling at his enthusiasm.
“And if she responds positively, you can build up to saying something more direct. Just be yourself - that’s probably what she likes about you anyway.”
He nods, almost bouncing with excitement, but then his face falls slightly, concern creeping back in.
“But what if she… doesn’t like me like that?”
Nanami speaks up again, his voice even but warm.
“Rejection is a part of life, Yuji. If it happens, it doesn’t weaken your worth. It just means she’s not ready or interested, and that’s okay. You’ll still be the same person with the same good qualities.”
You reach out, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder, a sudden wave of pride rushing over you. When you first met Kento, everyone around you kept telling you that it’ll never work out, that he’ll never feel the same way about you, that he’s cold as ice. But especially moments like this show you more than urgently what a kind heart your husband truly has and why you fell in love with him straight away.
“And remember, we’re here for you no matter what. But you might be surprised - she may already be hoping you’d say something.”
Yuji takes a deep breath, letting your words sink in. The blush on his cheeks deepens, but there’s a new determination in his eyes.
“Alright,” he says, more to himself than to either of you.
“I think… I think I can do this. I’ll try to talk to her more, see what she likes, and maybe, if it feels right, I’ll tell her.”
Both you and Nanami nod, clearly proud of him.
“Good,” you response, squeezing his shoulder gently.
“And let us know how it goes.”
Yuji grins, his usual spark returning to his face as he stands up, looking more energized than he has in days.
“Thanks, you guys. Really. This… this means a lot to me.”
With that, he heads out of the office, leaving you and Nanami exchanging a fond look. There’s something special about watching Yuji grow, about seeing him cope with feelings as regular as a high school crush even amidst the chaos of jujutsu life.
After he leaves, you let out a soft sigh.
“It’s so nice to see him think about something other than fighting for a change.”
Nanami chuckles.
“Yes. Though, if he’s anything like you were when we met, I imagine he’ll be quite charming in his attempts.”
You laugh, nudging his shoulder lightly.
“And if he’s anything like you, he’ll be both charming and a bit stubborn. But I think he’ll figure it out. He’s got a good heart.”
Bonus:
Days later, Yuji catches you in the hallway, an excited smile breaking across his face as he rushes over to you.
“Hey! I… I tried what you said,” he shouts, his eyes bright.
“Oh?”
You raise an eyebrow, intrigued.
“How did it go?”
“She actually seemed really interested! We talked about some of her favorite movies, and I told her about my favorite songs, and it just… it felt natural, you know?”
He rubs the back of his neck, grinning sheepishly.
“And then, before I could overthink it, I just kind of… told her I liked her. And… she said she liked me too!”
Your face lights up with pride and warmth, feeling a surge of happiness for him.
“Yuji, that’s amazing! I’m so proud of you!”
He laughs, a sound full of relief.
“Thank you. I mean, I couldn’t have done it without your help. I was so nervous, but you guys helped me feel like it was okay to just go for it. Now… now I feel like I can face anything!”
“Not that you couldn’t already,” you reply with a grin, giving his shoulder a congratulatory squeeze.
“You’re braver than you think, Yuji. Just remember, relationships are like fighting in their own way. It takes work and patience, but it’s worth it.”
“I’ll remember that,” he promises, his gaze filled with determination.
And as he heads off down the hall, you’re left with a smile on your face, proud of the young man who continues to grow not just as a sorcerer, but as a person.
A voice brings you out of your thoughts - Nanami, who’s been standing nearby, watching the exchange with a slight smile.
“You have a way with these kids,” he says, his voice gentle.
You turn to him, warmth filling your chest as you take his hand.
“Only because I’ve had a good example to follow.”
He squeezes your hand, his gaze softening as he looks down at you.
“I’d say you’re a natural. And who knows,” he adds with a rare hint of humor, “maybe Yuji’s just opened up the floodgates. We might find ourselves with more ‘romantic advice’ consultations soon.”
You chuckle, leaning into him.
“I think I’d be okay with that. These kids face so much danger. They deserve a little happiness too.”
With a fond smile, Nanami nods, and you both watch as Yuji disappears down the hall, excitement carrying him forward into this new chapter of his life. And for just a moment, everything feels peaceful, like you’re all part of something beautiful in the middle of the storm.

kisses, from laurie 😽
masterlist
As soon as the words - ‘come over.. i haven’t seen you in a while. i miss you.’ came through your phone you already knew what was going to go down.
The two of you had met a good few years prior after being introduced by a mutual friend - Sunghoon - and toed over the line of friendship during a smoke session. Ever since then you decided to keep the friendship but have constantly messed around.
Jungwon was in a band and on tour constantly so when he did eventually call you didn’t waste time getting to him.
Now you were in his room breathing as one with the fog that clouded the room and also your judgment while his 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 playlist played in the background.
Jungwon tapped on the XO tattoo that sat on your neck, signalling for you to open your mouth.
He blew the smoke from his mouth into yours and waited for you to hold it then exhale.
kiss me. kiss me. kiss me.
Were the words that ran through your mind on an endless track as you stared up at him with wide eyes and a small grin.
“Already?” he pouted. “You usually last longer than this.”
Your hands wrapped themselves around his neck allowing your fingers to weave their way into the hairs at the nape of his neck.
“Yeah well, given the circumstances…” you started.
It wasn’t common for you both to be alone together because his roommates were either always around or he wasn’t even there himself.
Jungwon had stated on the phone that Anton was out with some friends or whatever while Taesan wanted to see his girlfriend.
“I want you.” you finished.
“Did you ever do this to Jake?” he taunted.
Right. The ex situationship whose heart you broke which ended with awkward tension in the friend group because you didn’t wait long before running to Jungwon. It was known by all your friends that you and Jake were absolute freaks in bed.
And although the smoke had infiltrated your thoughts, you still knew that you were going to have Jungwon one way or another tonight.
“No. Only you. I just want you.”
He lifted his body off yours and sat back against the headboard of his bed.
“Yeah?” he smirked as he let out another cloud of smoke. “You want me?”
You nodded as you bit into the plush skin of your cheek.
“Show me how bad you want me.” he mockingly nodded back as he spread his legs invitingly.
You wasted no time in crawling over and planting yourself in between his legs.
Jungwon placed an arm behind his head as you unbuckled his belt and slowly pulled down his jeans and boxers.
He make a snarky comment about you taking your time.
“I’ve got time.” you joked.
You inhaled before slowly blowing cold air onto the head of his cock.
“Ugh.. fuck.” he groaned. “Suck on it baby.”
You wrapped your lips around the tip as you jerked the rest of him off to get him fully hard.
He took another drag as you lifted your head off him and began to tease him by licking a stripe along the protruding vein on his fat cock.
“Stop teasing me, ___.”
You laughed in response, “Be patient-”
The full sentence never left your mouth as your head whipped to the side. The stinging pain in the shape of a handprint coursed through your body all the way down to a throbbing sensation between your legs.
“Fuck..” Came out from your lips as a whine.
Jungwon wrapped his free hand through your hair and forced you onto his length.
“Open your throat, baby.” he asked. “I know you can take it.”
He bucked his hips relentlessly as he chased his own high without any regard for your breathing.
Tears formed in your eyes as you attempted to match his unruly pace without choking.
Being vocal about his pleasure wasn’t unusual when he was with you, but every time it turned you on even more.
“You’re taking me so well baby.”
You gagged over and over again as spit leaked out of your mouth and dripped all over his thighs.
He peeked open an eye to see you struggling to breathe and immediately pulled you off by your hair.
You coughed hysterically before attempting to suck him off again. He pushed you away once more.
“Sorry.. I got a bit carried away.” he inspected your face to see if anything was wrong.
You rested your face onto the palm on your cheek, “It’s fine, I like it.”
He chuckled, “Of course you do.”
You placed your mouth onto his length once more and jerked off whatever your mouth couldn’t reach, using your other hand to play with his balls.
Instead of resting in your hair like before, Jungwon snaked his hand around your throat, lightly testing the waters as he pushed on your pressure points.
The vibrations of you moaning sent chills all over his body.
“You like that?” he bit onto his bottom lip while pressing harder.
You hummed in response.
“You slut, I’m not surprised.” he degraded. “A freak like yourself would probably get off on me tying you up and making you watch me or some shit like that.”
Your thighs rubbed together as you moaned, feeling yourself get closer to your high without even being touched by him.
His words alone had you right where he wanted you.
“Fuck, babe i’m close.” he moaned. “I know you are, cum with me.”
Your eyes rolled back as he shot his load into the back of your throat causing you to come right after him as you struggled to swallow all he was giving you.
But you wanted to show him how good you could be.
So good that he wouldn’t need to keep fucking around with other people.
Jungwon felt himself get hard again as he watched you stick out your tongue to show that you’d swallowed everything.
“You’re so hot.” he whimpered before putting out the cig.
“Thanks, I know.” you smirked.
It wasn’t a secret that you’d been good looking your whole life. You even managed to pull the whole friend group at once, having all the boys wrapped around your finger.
But with Jungwon it was different, from the moment that he first laid eyes on you, he knew that he had to have you. He had to have you under his control.
Wasting no time, he pushed you onto your back then ripped his shirt off.
“You actually came?” he laughed menacingly. “I didn’t even touch you.”
Your hands covered your face in very little to no embarrassment as you nodded.
He pulled them away before opening your jaw and spitting into your mouth.
Giving you no time to swallow, he attacked your lips and began to messily lick, bite and tug them till they were swollen.
The two of you didn’t usually kiss, not wanting to cross the line. Like you hadn’t already done so longgg ago…
When he pulled away the two of you were connected by a single string of spit.
“Don’t cover your face pretty, look at me.”
As he stared into your own blown eyes he knew that he wouldn’t stop until he had you begging him to.
One second your mini skirt hugged your hips and the next it was ripped and tossed onto the floor.
“Jungwon!” you pouted. “That one’s my favourite.”
He ripped open your shirt and unclasped your bra before biefly sucking on each tit.
“I’ll just buy you another one.” he huffed as he shuffled down the bed to be face to face with your pussy.
He pulled down your panties awfully slowly before pushing your legs up to your chest and telling you to hold them.
Watching your hole gape and grasp around nothing led him to blow cold air onto your clit, trying to get a reaction out of you.
Your hips bucked up and you whined.
“Wonie, please.” you begged.
He laughed at you again.
“You see how you don’t like it when it’s your turn, huh?”
You huffed. “I’m sorry.”
You really weren’t. And you’d do it again just to see him react in the same way.
He licked at your slick with a long groan before replacing the hold on your thighs with his own hands and diving in.
Obscene noises came from your lower body as he fingered you open with two fingers and practically made out with your clit before switching to rub figure eights and curl his tongue against your sweet spot.
Your fingers wove their way into his hair as the moans leaving your mouth grew in volume.
Clit still sensitive from the first orgasm led you to tug at the locks on his scalp and pull him away.
He got the message for like two seconds before wrapping his lips onto it again.
“I know you can take it baby, come on.” he goaded while sticking a third finger into your heat. “Be good for me.”
“I can take it.” you moaned at the sight before you.
The lower half of his face was covered in your essence while his heavy lidded eyes intoxicatingly stared into your soul.
If you could etch this version of him into your brain to watch over and over, you would.
You threw your head back against the sheets as he plunged his thick fingers into you again, repeatedly hitting the spot that you needed him at.
“I’m so close… so close!” you cried. “Nngh.. Jungwon please!”
Your hips thrashed as you felt the coil teetering on the edge of a powerful orgasm.
Then he pulled away.
“Ugh!” you complained. “WHY would you do that?!”
“Fuck.” he moaned, ignoring you while he sucked on his fingers and closed his eyes due to the intense pleasure. “You taste so fucking good.”
“Jungwon?” you glared. “Hellooo, earth to Jungwon.”
He got up onto his knees and lined himself up against you.
“Figured you’d want to come on my dick instead.” he shrugged.
You couldn’t even roll your eyes in annoyance because he knew you so well.
He slowly eased himself in as you reached behind his shoulders to pull him into you.
“Fuck… you’re so warm. So tight.” he moaned out. “Can you take it?”
Your legs pushed at his lower back to indicate that you wanted allll of him.
The stretch was the best part. It had you feeling like every atom in your body had split and reverted as you felt a fullness inside you that only he could reach.
“You’re so big.” you babbled. “So big..”
“Already drunk on my cock… fuck baby.”
You nodded as you begged him to move, “Please, I can take it.”
He wasted no time in thrusting into you at a rapid pace, not even giving you a second to adjust.
“Fuckkk. Wonie, faster.”
Jungwon pounded into your heat as he moaned into your ear.
“Taking me so well.” he whimpered. “Like this pussy was made for me. Made for my cock.”
“Only you.” you moaned pathetically while your nails scratched down his back feeling overwhelmed from the sensation of his nipples rubbing against yours.
His dick was so good that you wanted to tell him you loved him then and there.
Already close from the orgasm that was ripped away from you, he rubbed your clit as your thighs began to shake.
“Hold on baby, let’s cum together.”
He lifted the upper half off his body and laced your fingers together.
“I’m so close.. fuck!” you sobbed. “Daddy, please let me cum.”
His hips faltered as you felt his tip twitch inside you.
“Daddy, huh?” he grinned. “Fuck, baby. Daddy’s gonna have you crying over this cock.”
He seemed to go at a pace that was impossibly faster than before not giving you time to process your words as he had you cumming all over him.
The feeling of your walls squeezing him and milking him for an orgasm sent him over the edge.
You both whimpered and moaned as the air began to feel heavy.
You whined at the feeling of his still hard dick pulling out, watching as Jungwon fixated on the cum leaking out of you.
“Fuck. You can give me another one right?” He pleaded. “Give Daddy another one, baby.”
You shook your head.
“‘s too much.”
You couldn’t even think straight as you stared into space.
“I know, I know.” he pouted. “One more for me, then we’ll stop.”
“Do you promise?”
“I promise.” he whispered back as he flipped you onto your stomach.
He pulled your hips up and pushed your head down into the mattress as your spine automatically arched to the position that you knew he loved.
“Fuck.” he cried as he pushed back into you.
Once again he wasted no time in fucking into you at a rapid pace, crying out as you clenched around him.
“Faster! Please daddy.” your cried into the sheets as he slapped your ass.
You were wayyy past the point of being cock drunk but the same was for him. His brain fogged up as the only thoughts coming through were that he wanted no. needed to have you writhing under him again.
He circled your clit and lifted up your leg to hit the deepest spot possible.
The mix of your past releases ran down the back of your thighs and stuck to the front of his.
Your tears soaked the duvet while your mouth hung open, drool seeping down.
Jungwon felt himself get close again but with the way you were twitching under his hold he could feel that something was different.
“Can I cum? Please daddy.” you sobbed.
“Yeah, baby. You’ve done so well for me.” he praised.
A weird but familiar sensation built up inside you leaving you to attempt to pull off Jungwon.
He pulled you right back and continued abusing your hole.
“No, no, no!” you cried as you squirted so hard that his cock slipped out and your body slumped down feeling spent.
Jungwon came all over your lower back at the sight. He could confidently say that was the longest orgasm he’d had in a very long time.
A loud ringing subsided in your ear as you felt the loss of his body heat.
Too tired to say anything, you patiently waited for him to come back.
He scooped you up princess style and took you the bath that he’d started.
You hummed contentedly as he scrubbed all over your body.
“Can we just sit here for a while?” you asked, voice hoarse from all the shouting.
He nodded as he snuggled up to your back.
The two of you stayed there for however long until Jungwon got out so he could quickly change his sheets before coming back to fully dry you off and help you apply lotion.
You followed him to his room again with shaky legs, allowing him to dress you in one of his shirts and boxers.
“Let me get you some water.” he said, caressing your cheek.
You followed after him into the kitchen despite his warnings to stay put.
Your legs gave way after like 6 steps.
“Fuck daddy! You’re so big!” came a voice from the couch.
Anton cackled at you as Taesan mocked the obscene dialogue that went on between you and Jungwon.
“Nice to know he fucks you well.” the former taunted.
“Fuck off.” you rolled your eyes as you struggled to stand up.
“Why don’t you get up first?” Taesan chuckled.
“Ugh, I thought you two weren’t even in tonight?” you grumbled.
They looked confused. “Now who said- ”
“Okayyy! Let’s go.” Jungwon conveniently interrupted.
He placed the water on the counter so he could pick you up then grabbed the glass again as he walked to his room.
You flipped off his roommates who made kissing faces at you.
"What the fuck happened to your back?" Anton commented on the red scratches running down his back.
"Heard he likes his girls the way he likes his cats." Was the last thing you heard before Jungwon slammed the door shut with his foot.
With you placed on the bed, he began to flutter around the room arranging random things.
The only thing you found interesting were the french tip nails - that he paid for! - as you thought about everything that had just happened.
First he lied to you about his roommates being there considering he knew that you always held back whenever they were in the apartment, secondly he kissed you - you never kissed each other but he did it so casually and third, the urge to tell him that you loved him.
You knew that what you felt for Jungwon was different to what you were supposed to but but how could you not? Your relationship was anything but casual.
Half of his closet stored your clothes and your shower routine products were literally in his bathroom cabinet. He always acted possessively over you whenever you’d meet with his other friends and didn’t even correct people when they said you looked like a cute couple.
But then he’d go and fuck the other people on his roster and you’d be reminded that you weren’t the only one when he’d post a soft launch on instagram.
“Wonie.” you called out.
He hummed in response while folding some clothes into his suitcase.
“Can we talk?” you asked timidly.
He stopped what he was doing and sat next to you.
“What do you mean, __?” he asked back as he held your face.
Wow, not even a nickname.
“I mean that… I just…”
Jungwon assured you that you could speak to him about whatever you were thinking about.
Fuck him for being so understanding.
You couldn’t even stop the words from coming out of your mouth,
“I think I love you.” you blurted out before covering your mouth in shock. “… I’m gonna go-”
He pulled you back in by your waist and kissed you delicately as if you were fragile and he needed to protect you from harm.
Butterflies erupted in your stomach when he pulled back to rest his forehead against yours.
“You finally caught on.” he smiled.
“Finally?” you frowned. “What do you mean finally?”
“I’ve liked you ever since I laid eyes on you.” he grinned. “Had to wait for stupid Jake to get out of the way.”
“Let’s not talk about Jake right now.” you laughed.
“I’m being serious.”
“What about the other people that you keep seeing?”
Jungwon rolled onto his back in a fit of laughter.
“At one point or another, I called them your name.” he smiled.
You gasped.
“No you didn’t!”
He nodded.
“With all of them?!”
“Come on, you’re making me seem like a man whore. It was only 5 people.” he groaned. “Not my best choice but yeah I called them all off agess ago.”
The laughing died down as you lay next to him.
“__ __, I know i’ve been a bit of a prick- ”
“Major prick.” you giggled.
“Right, major prick.” he smiled. “But I was wondering.. If you wanted to be my girlfriend?”
You nodded with an uncontrollable smile.
“I’d love to.”
He pounced onto you as he squeezed the life out of you stating that he was the happiest man alive.
A selfie of the two of you was posted to his story with the caption ‘My gf😍, back off bitches 😒’ and he tossed his phone to the side as it began to blow up with ‘congratulations’ and ‘finally’.
The two of you cuddled under the sheets as he played your favourite movie (he claimed it was his fav too 🙄)
Exhaustion overwhelmed your senses as you let sleep carry you.
Jungwon studied your features as he always did before snuggling up to you.
“I love you too.” he whispered.
THE END.

'I love you, it's ruining my life'
Joel Miller x f! Reader
part ii
Summary: You get to spend your last night with Joel before he gets married to another woman.
w.c: 4k>
warning: angst, mentions of cheating. No proofreading, messy writing (possibly).
a/n: Well, hello. I wrote this because I had this idea in my head for a few days but now I don't feel like I completely wrote what I wanted. Nevertheless, here is it. Sorry if this is not my best work, but I wrote it in a rush and a part 2 could be possible. There's another fic I'm working on so I hope that's better than this one. Happy reading and I hope to have time soon to be back to writing 💌
dividers by @/saradika-graphics
Everyone around you could see it. The dilated pupils, the starry-eyed gaze, and the wide smile when you were with Joel. Everyone could see it, but Joel. You could also feel it, but it was forbidden. Being high over heels for your friend was almost a felony. Joel was your best friend, and he was getting married to another woman.
Your paths crossed the day you moved into your new house. The one next to his. You had gotten a glimpse of him a few times during your first days there. His messy hair and the crease between his eyebrows made him look in distress, running back and forth all the time, which made you want to know about him. A few days later, you learned from a neighbor that Joel was recently widowed with a small baby girl named Sarah, who had become his whole world. And you had gotten to meet him one day when he knocked at your doorstep, disheveled and with puffy eyes, carrying a crying baby girl tightly against his chest as if she were the most precious thing in the world, which, to him, she undoubtedly was.
"Hey, are you okay?" you asked softly, concern evident in your voice as you noticed the tear tracks on his cheeks.
Joel looked up, startled by the sound of your voice. His tired eyes met yours, and for a moment, you saw a flicker of vulnerability before he composed himself. "Yeah, sorry, it's been a rough night. Sarah's been fussy, and I just..." His voice trailed off, and he glanced down at his daughter, then took a look at your clothes. You were wearing a strapless black dress, and when he glanced up at you, he almost got his air cut by your gorgeous face.
You were clearly getting ready to go out; after all, you were a young woman living next to his, and as far as he could tell, you were single.
“I’m sorry, you... You are leaving. I don’t know why I came here,” he said.
Without hesitation and ignoring Joel’s words, you reached out and gently rubbed the baby’s back, trying to soothe her. "Would you like to come in?" you offered, gesturing to the warmth and comfort of your home.
Joel hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on you, before he nodded gratefully. Stepping inside, he seemed to relax slightly, the tension in his shoulders easing as he sank into the nearest chair. You followed suit, sitting across from him and offering a sympathetic smile.
“I just came back home,” you said.
“What?” He asked dumbfoundedly.
“You said I was leaving. I’m not.” You smiled again, trying to contain the tinkle in your naked arms as you looked at the man in front of you.
"Oh,” he replied. "Oh," Joel repeated, his voice tinged with surprise as he processed your words. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his gaze flickering between you and Sarah, who had quieted down in your presence.
After a moment of silence, Joel cleared his throat, his cheeks flushing slightly with embarrassment. "I, um, actually came here because... I need some help," he admitted quietly, his eyes avoiding yours.
You nodded, understanding dawning as you realized the weight of responsibility that Joel carried as a single parent. "Of course," you said softly, reaching out to place a reassuring hand on his arm. "I'd be happy to help however I can."
Joel let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding, relief washing over his tired features. "Thank you," he murmured, his gratitude evident in his voice. "I just... I don't know what I'm doing half the time, and Sarah... she deserves better."
Sarah.
You had learned the baby’s name was Sarah.
“My wife died during labor,” he confessed.
As Joel's words hung in the air, a heavy silence settled between you, punctuated only by the soft sounds of Sarah's breathing. Your heart ached for him, knowing the pain he must have endured losing his wife, especially under such tragic circumstances.
"I'm so sorry, Joel," you whispered, your voice barely above a breath. "I can't even imagine what you've been through."
Joel nodded, his expression haunted as he stared off into the distance. "It's been... it's been the hardest thing I've ever had to face," he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. "But Sarah... she's been my anchor. My reason to keep going." He paused for a moment. “That’s why I’m asking you if you can help me take care of her just for tonight. I just have this thing with my brother, and I found out you’re a teacher, so I suppose you’re good with kids.”
“Wait…how… How do you know I’m a teacher?”
Joel blinked, caught off guard by your question. He hesitated for a moment before his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Oh, uh, well... I may have asked around the neighborhood," he admitted sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck.
You couldn't help but chuckle at his response, finding his awkwardness endearing. "I see," you said with a playful smile. "Well, you're right. I am a teacher. And I'd be more than happy to help take care of Sarah tonight."
Relief washed over Joel's features, and he let out a sigh of gratitude. "Thank you, really. I wouldn't ask if it weren't important," he said earnestly, his eyes meeting yours with a mixture of appreciation and vulnerability.
You nodded, understanding his need for support and reassurance, especially during such a challenging time. "Don't worry about it," you said softly, offering him a reassuring smile. "Sarah will be in good hands with me."
With that settled, Joel visibly relaxed, his shoulders sagging with relief. "Thank you," he repeated, his voice filled with gratitude. "I'll be back as soon as I can."
Since that day, you and Joel have become thick as thieves, and consequently, you have become Sarah’s best friend. The three of you became inseparable, sharing laughter and tears as you were there for each other through the ups and downs of life. Whether it was late-night diaper changes or spontaneous dance parties in the living room, you cherished every moment spent with both of them.
As Sarah grew older, she became not only Joel's whole world but yours as well. You watched with pride as she took her first steps, spoke her first words, and grew into a bright, curious toddler. And through it all, you were there by her side, offering guidance, love, and endless patience.
But amidst the joy and laughter, there was a bittersweet longing lingering in the air—a longing for something more, something you knew could never be. You buried your feelings deep within your heart, knowing that to act on them would only bring pain and heartache to those you loved most.
Of course you had dated; you went on dates, but they never worked out. No one was Joel, so you kept burying your love for him. You caught yourself in a complex web of emotion with that lingering ache for something more. What could have happened if you had talked before? But as much as you tried to bury your feelings for Joel, they remained a constant presence, a silent companion that followed you wherever you went.
And now, watching as Joel prepared for his upcoming wedding, the realization of his happiness with another woman cutting through you like a knife. Each detail of the ceremony seemed to magnify the distance between you, reminding you of the forbidden nature of your feelings.
Tess was a lovely woman, yet she didn’t completely like the idea that you and her soon-to-be husband were so close. Perhaps she sensed the depth of your connection with Joel, or maybe she simply felt threatened by the strong relationship you had forged with him and his daughter.
You tried your best to reassure Tess, to show her that your intentions were pure—that you were simply there to support Joel and Sarah in any way you could. But despite your efforts, there remained an underlying tension between you, a silent acknowledgment of the unspoken feelings that lingered beneath the surface.
However, you knew that after the wedding, you and Joel would grow apart, and you already had a plan to bear with the solace that would cause you.
“I’m so glad you’re here with me tonight." Joel gushed, bringing his wine glass to his lips. “It feels like when Sarah fell asleep and stayed late talking.”
You nodded, plastering a smile on your face. It had taken a lot of work to become this good at faking it. You had conditioned yourself to smile at Joel and respond to his questions with excitement, as your insides felt like they were tearing apart from the thought of these being the last hours of Joel being single. But you didn’t have a choice.
Almost eight years of friendship had taken a toll on you. That was a lot of time to reconsider your feelings and come back with a new perspective, but you were just burying your feelings as you always do. You didn’t want to ruin Joel’s chance of happiness, and as soon as tomorrow arrived, you would play your role and then be out of his life.
“Are you excited?” Joel asked you.
“For you?” you asked, bringing your wine glass to your lips. “Of course,” you plastered your best smile at him, even though it didn’t reach your eyes.
Joel smiled back at you, tossing himself on the sofa, his hand over his chest as he breathed in and out rhythmically, watching as you stared at your glass of wine with a lost gaze.
“What do you want to do?” He asked, only watching you shrug.
“Don’t know.” You mumbled, eyebrows furrowed in thought. Joel only hummed in response, looking around his living room before his eyes settled on the record player across the room, his eyes widening in excitement.
“Hun.”
“Don’t call me that.” You mumbled, directing your gaze at him. You were just waiting to drift off to sleep.
“Do you remember our parties?”
Your eyes opened to look at Joel trying to piece together what he wanted to do. “I do, why?”
Without another word, Joel stood up and walked across the room to his record player, standing there with a tin of dust. Trying to look for the perfect disc and allow the melody to sweep through the house.
After his silence, you closed your eyes once again, just to abruptly open them to the familiar melody of the song playing through the house.
Out of touch, out of reach, yeah
You could try to get closer to me.
I’m in love; I’m in deep, yeah.
Hypnotized, I’m shaking to my knees.
Without a warning, Joel shot across the room to you, raising his hand for you to take it.
“What are you doing?” You questioned.
You felt a rush of panic surge through you as Joel approached, his outstretched hand beckoning you to join him. Your heart raced, torn between the desire to escape the moment and the temptation to give in to the pull of the music and Joel's presence.
"I... I don't know, Joel," you stammered, your voice barely above a whisper as you hesitated to take his hand. Every fiber of your being screamed at you to resist, to maintain the boundaries you had carefully erected between you and Joel. But as his warm gaze met yours, a flicker of something unfamiliar sparked within you—a longing, a yearning for something more.
Joel's expression softened, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that made your heart skip a beat. "Come on," he urged gently, his voice low and soothing. "Let's dance, just like old times."
Despite your better judgment, you found yourself relenting, allowing Joel to pull you to your feet and into his arms. As the music enveloped you both, you were transported back to a time when laughter and joy filled the air, when the weight of unspoken feelings had yet to cast its shadow over your friendship.
For a moment, you allowed yourself to lose yourself in the rhythm of the music and in the warmth of Joel's embrace. But even as you swayed together in the dim light of his living room, you couldn't shake the nagging sense of unease that tugged at the corners of your mind. You felt a lump form in your throat.
"I'm going to miss this, you know? Our late-night dance parties, just the two of us." You whispered.
“I’m not dying,” he replied, humored.
You pulled back to look at his face for a moment, finding the words you wanted to say. “I know, but it will be different.”
You found the same easy smile and the same playful glint that had always been there, masking the deeper emotions that lay beneath.
"I know," Joel replied, his voice softening as he squeezed your hand gently. "Things are going to be different after tomorrow. But no matter what happens, you'll always be my best friend; you know that, right?"
His words struck a chord within you, stirring a mix of emotions that you struggled to put into words. Part of you wanted to cling to Joel's reassurance, to hold onto the comfort of his friendship, even as the world around you shifted and changed. But another part of you couldn't help but wonder what tomorrow would bring and whether things would ever truly be the same between you and Joel again.
"Yeah," you whispered, your voice barely audible over the music. "I know."
And as you continued to dance together in the dim light of Joel's living room, you couldn't help but wonder. What would happen after tomorrow?
You allowed yourself to inhale his perfume as you placed your head on his shoulder, containing the tears that threatened to spill.
There was silence.
“Have you ever been in love?” He asked.
As Joel's question hung in the air, the weight of its implications settled over you like a heavy fog. You lifted your head from his shoulder, meeting his gaze with a mixture of surprise and uncertainty. His eyes searched yours, holding a depth of curiosity and vulnerability that you hadn't expected.
"Have you ever been in love before?" He asked, his voice soft and earnest, as if he were searching for something in your answer, something beyond mere words.
You felt a lump form in your throat, the truth of your feelings threatening to spill out despite your best efforts to contain them. But you couldn't bring yourself to lie to Joel—not now, not when the walls you had built around your heart felt so fragile and precarious.
"Yes," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper as you spoke the words that had long been buried deep within you. "Yes, I have."
Joel's expression softened, and his heart exploded at the tiny thought of being the one you loved. “And... is it someone I know?" he asked, his voice tinged with a hint of apprehension.
You hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal and how much to lay bare before him. But in the end, you couldn't deny him the truth, and you couldn't deny yourself the chance to finally speak the words that had remained unspoken for so long.
"Maybe,” you replied, your voice trembling slightly as you met Joel's gaze with a mixture of vulnerability and longing.
As the song ended, the room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of your confession lingering in the air like a palpable presence. You and Joel stood there, locked in a moment of uncertainty, each grappling with the implications of your words.
Joel's gaze searched yours, his eyes filled with a myriad of emotions—surprise, confusion, and perhaps a glimmer of hope. He opened his mouth as if to speak, but no words came out, his thoughts seemingly tangled in a web of conflicting feelings.
“Wait, you have to tell me so you can be the next one to get married?” Your heart skipped a beat at Joel's attempt to lighten the mood, a small smile tugging at the corners of your lips despite the gravity of this situation inside you.
“I can’t.”
“Why? Any man would love to be with someone like you.” he encouraged.
“I can’t because that man is getting married tomorrow.” That's it. You had confessed your feelings for him.
A heavy silence settled between you, punctuated only by the weight of your confession hanging in the air. You could see the flicker of realization cross Joel's features, his eyes widening slightly as he processed your words.
The warmth that had filled the room seemed to dissipate, replaced by a palpable tension that wrapped around you both like a suffocating blanket. You watched as Joel's expression shifted, a myriad of emotions playing across his features—shock, disbelief, and perhaps a hint of sadness.
"I... I don't know what to say," Joel finally murmured, his voice barely above a whisper as he struggled to find the right words. "I didn't realize... I mean, I never thought..."
His voice trailed off, and he looked away, his gaze fixating on a spot on the floor as he wrestled with his thoughts. You could feel the weight of his confusion and uncertainty pressing down on you—a heavy burden that threatened to crush you beneath its weight.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, the words barely audible over the pounding of your heart. "I didn't mean to... I never meant for things to get this complicated."
Joel shook his head; his expression hurt as he finally met your gaze once more. "No, it's not your fault," he said softly. "I just...”
You nodded in understanding, knowing that this revelation had changed everything between you, perhaps irreparably so. But even as the reality of the situation sank in, you couldn't help but feel a sense of relief at finally speaking the truth, no matter how painful it may be.
"Why didn't you tell me before?" Joel's question hung in the air, heavy with the weight of years of unspoken emotions.
You swallowed hard, struggling to find the right words to explain the complexities of your feelings. "I... I didn't know how," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "I was afraid of ruining our friendship, of losing you altogether."
Joel's expression softened, his thumb gently brushing against your cheek as he listened intently. "You could never lose me," he said softly, his voice filled with sincerity. "You're my best friend, and nothing could ever change that."
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, overwhelmed by the depth of Joel's understanding and compassion. "I know," you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion. "But I couldn't bear the thought of losing you, even if it meant keeping my feelings hidden."
“And you had to wait all these years just to tell me the night before I got married!” He raised his voice; he had never done it before.
Your heart clenched at Joel's raised voice, the rawness of his emotions cutting through you like a knife. "I know, I'm sorry," you said, your voice barely above a whisper as you struggled to maintain your composure. "I should have told you sooner; I should have been honest with you from the beginning."
Joel's expression softened at your words, regret flickering in his eyes as he reached out to gently cup your face in his hands. "I'm not mad," he said softly, his voice filled with tenderness. "I'm just... I'm just surprised, that's all. I never knew."
His words trailed off, and you could see the turmoil churning beneath the surface, the weight of his impending marriage bearing down on him like a heavy burden. You reached out, tentatively placing your hand over his as you searched for the right words to ease his pain.
As the weight of your shared emotions hung heavily in the air, you and Joel sat in a charged silence, stealing glances at each other as if trying to decipher the unspoken words lingering between you. There was tension, a magnetic pull drawing you closer, and neither of you could resist its irresistible force.
With a trembling breath, you meet his eyes, knowing this would be the last time you would be this close to him.
His eyes also met yours, filled with a mixture of longing and uncertainty, mirroring the tumultuous emotions swirling within your own heart. And then, in a moment that felt both inevitable and electrifying, Joel closed the gap between you, his lips meeting yours in a tender, achingly sweet kiss. It was a kiss filled with years of unspoken desires and unacknowledged feelings, a silent confession of the love that had always lingered just beneath the surface.
In that moment, time seemed to stand still as you melted into each other's embrace, the world falling away to leave only the two of you, lost in the swirling tide of emotions that threatened to consume you both.
As Joel deepened the kiss, his phone suddenly rang, breaking the spell of the moment and pulling you both back to reality with a jolt. You reluctantly pulled away from each other, your breaths coming in ragged gasps as you tried to compose yourselves.
Joel's hand instinctively went to his pocket, retrieving his phone with a mixture of frustration and resignation. He glanced at the caller ID, his brow furrowing in confusion as he recognized the name flashing on the screen.
"It's Tess," he murmured, his voice tinged with apprehension as he answered the call. "Hey, Tess, what's up?"
You watched as Joel listened intently to the voice on the other end of the line, his expression growing increasingly tense with each passing moment. Your heart sank as you realized the gravity of the conversation unfolding before you, the weight of Joel's impending marriage casting a shadow over the fragile intimacy you had shared just moments before.
After what felt like an eternity, Joel finally ended the call, his hand trembling slightly as he lowered his phone. He turned to look at you, his eyes filled with a mixture of regret and longing.
"I have to go," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Tess needs me."
You nodded, your heart heavy with disappointment and resignation. "I understand," you replied, forcing a small smile despite the ache in your chest.
And with that, Joel gathered his things and made his way to the door.
“Joel.”
He stopped on his tracks by the door, looking at you without being able to look you in the eyes.
Joel's steps faltered at your words, his hand pausing on the doorknob as he turned to face you once more. His eyes searched yours, filled with a mixture of confusion and concern.
“I’m not coming tomorrow,” you said.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he struggled to comprehend the significance of your statement.
You took a deep breath, gathering your courage as you met his gaze head-on. "I mean, I can't be there tomorrow," you repeated, your voice steady despite the tumult of emotions swirling within you. “Not after this, so I’m going back to my house and I’ll move to New York just as I planned.”
“What?” Joel's voice wavered with disbelief, his eyes widening in shock at your words. He took a step closer to you, his expression pleading as if hoping you would take back what you had just said.
"Please, don't do this," he urged, his voice filled with desperation. "You can't just leave like this, not after everything that's happened between us."
You felt a pang of guilt at the anguish in Joel's voice, the weight of his words bearing down on you like a heavy burden. But you knew that staying would only prolong the inevitable, dragging out the pain and heartache for both of you.
"I have to," you said softly, your voice tinged with sorrow. "I can't stay here and watch you marry someone else, knowing how I feel about you. It's too much, Joel. I need to go."
Tears welled up in your eyes as you spoke, the ache in your chest growing heavier with each passing moment. But despite the pain, you knew deep down that leaving was the only option, the only way to protect your heart from further damage.
Joel reached out to you, his hand hovering in the air as if unsure whether to touch you. "Please, don't go," he pleaded, his voice breaking with emotion. "I... I need you here with me."
You met his gaze, the intensity of his words washing over you like a wave. But as much as you longed to stay, you knew that leaving was the only way forward, the only way to find peace and healing for your shattered heart.
"I'm sorry, Joel," you whispered, tears streaming down your cheeks as you turned away from him. "But you just kiss me, and I feel sick because you cheated, and I won’t be the other woman.”
Joel's shoulders slumped, and his face contorted with anguish as he realized the depth of his mistake. "Please, don't leave," he pleaded, taking a step closer to you. "I'll call off the wedding; I'll do whatever it takes to make things right. Just please, don't go."
“Do you even love me to do that?” you asked,
Joel's eyes widened at your question, his expression filled with a mixture of shock and desperation. He opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out, his thoughts seemingly tangled in a web of conflicting emotions.
The silence was defeating, and your heart sank at his response, the uncertainty in his words cutting through you like a knife. You had hoped for reassurance, for a declaration of love that would make everything right again, but instead, you were met with doubt and confusion.
And with that, you gathered your things and made your way to the door, leaving Joel standing alone in his living room, his heart breaking with every step you took away from him.
"You'll marry Tess, and I'll leave," you said, your voice barely above a whisper as you disappeared from his sight.
The words echoed in Joel's mind long after you had gone. At that moment, Joel knew that he had to make a choice—one that would determine the course of his future and the fate of his heart. But as he sat alone in the silence of his living room, the weight of that decision felt heavier than ever before.

As you close the front door to Tannyhill, Rafe is on the phone, pacing slightly. "Yeah, they said, um, two days on the transfer," he says," his voice strained with barely concealed tension. "it's in the works though, no worries," he assures Ward, trying to keep his tone steady as he leads you upstairs.
"Yeah, I'm upstairs, why? You said you wanted to talk about something. What's up?" Rafe questions, sitting on the edge of the bed while you settle into an armchair, your eyes on him, concerned. Rafe's expression shifts from curiosity to apprehension as he listens intently to Ward.
A heavy silence fills the room as Rafe's face drops, the weight of Ward's words hitting him hard. "Everything okay?" you ask softly, your concern growing. "Wait, wait, are you being serious?" Rafe's tone hardens, his confusion mirroring your own as you raise an eyebrow.
Pulling his phone away from his ear, Rafe looks at you with a mix of disbelief and anger. "He's giving away the fucking cross," he states, his voice filled with frustration and disbelief. Your lips part in shock. "I was just with you. What changed since then? What are you talking about?" Rafe returns back to the call, trying to piece together the sudden shift.
Rafe's struggle to maintain his composure is evident. You rise from your seat and rub his back gently, hoping to calm him. "Dad, no, no. Dad," Rafe pleads into the phone. "This cross is mine. You're taking it from me," he exclaims, his voice breaking slightly as he places a hand on your thigh for comfort.
"Listen, this is something that I got through my work, and now you're trying to make yourself feel better by giving away my shit?" Rafe's anger bubbles to the surface as he switches to speakerphone so you can hear. "And you didn't even tell me?"
"This is me telling you right now, son," Ward responds, his voice calm and steady, a stark contrast to Rafe's agitation. Rafe throws his head back in disbelief, his hand coming up to his forehead. "We've done some things, Rafe, you and I, all right?" Ward continues, and Rafe lets out a scoff. "Oh my god."
"Things that we need to atone for, and donating this cross, it's a good first step in the right direction," Ward explains, his tone calm. Rafe shakes his head at you, as you sigh knowing he won't understand his dad's reasoning. "I know that in my heart. Okay?" Ward adds. "I don't know. Maybe if Sarah finds out—"
"Sarah? Sarah!" Rafe interrupts furiously, standing up abruptly. "There it is! That's it!" he exclaims, slamming his hand on the dresser repeatedly, causing you to flinch. "There it is, Dad!" he yells into the phone. "Any more of my shit you wanna steal from me to impress Sarah?" he spits out in annoyance. "Who doesn't even give a shit about you?"
"It's Wilmington. It's tomorrow night. Get a pen. I'll give you the cargo information," Ward's voice is stern, leaving no room for argument. Rafe breathes heavily, his frustration evident. "Calm down, Rafe," you say quietly, coming up behind him and hugging him. At your touch and voice, Rafe begins to calm down.
You pull him onto the couch as he lets out a shaky breath, your thumb rubbing circles on his forearm to soothe him. "For the record, this is bullshit. Okay?" Rafe splutters. "This is my thing."
After a few seconds of silence, Rafe's features shift, and he forces a calm demeanor. "But of course, you can count on me," he says, though you can tell he feels betrayed.
Ward sighs in relief on the other end. "Okay, so listen," he begins. Rafe gets up, finding a pen and paper. "One second. Okay, Wilmington. Tomorrow night. Car 750X. Got it," he repeats, scribbling down the information.
A sudden creak from the floorboard makes both of you look toward the door. You and Rafe exchange a knowing look. "Hey, hang on—hang on. One second," Rafe says as you follow him out the room.
"Hello?" you call out as Rafe looks down the stairs. Another creak comes from the room you were just in. Rafe raises an eyebrow at you before heading back to retrieve his phone and continue the call.
"Yeah, from the wharf to the train yard," Rafe continues, his voice fading as he heads downstairs. You remain in the room, sinking back into the armchair and scrolling through your phone, trying to distract yourself.
Suddenly, another creak catches your attention, making you whip your head around. You find yourself face to face with Sarah, her eyes wide with panic. "Sarah..." you gasp, your eyes widening slightly as you take in her distressed appearance. Realization hitting you that she must have overheard the conversation.
"You shouldn't be here. Rafe will go crazy if he finds out you were here—" you begin, your voice urgent. But before you can finish, Sarah lunges forward, grabbing a lamp from the side table and hurling it towards you. Instinctively, you dodge to the side, the lamp crashing against the wall behind you as Sarah bolts from the room.
Heart pounding, you scramble to your feet and chase after her, calling out, "Sarah!" The urgency in your voice is palpable as you race down the stairs, desperately trying to catch up to her before Rafe sees her.
"Sarah!" you call out, your voice echoing through the hallway as you quickly follow her downstairs. Your heart races as you look around, but Rafe is nowhere to be found. Sarah dashes through the parlor, her footsteps quick and frantic, before she sprints out the front door.
You turn the corner sharply, only to collide with a solid form. The impact nearly knocks you off your feet. "Whoa—whoa, babe. What's wrong?" Rafe's concerned voice cuts through the chaos, his hands coming up to steady you, rubbing your arms in an attempt to calm you down.
"Sarah," you manage to gasp, your mind still reeling from the encounter. "What? What about her—" Rafe's eyebrows knit together in confusion, but you cut him off, the urgency clear in your voice. "Sarah was just here. She heard everything."

"Shh, we've got to be super quiet until we reach my room." Rafe whispers as he opens the door to his home very quietly as he looks around first to ensure that everyone was asleep but mostly his dad.
Once the coast is clear, he indicates it's good to go inside. Your heart was beating but not out of fear, more so excitement as the fun you had prior to this was one of the best nights you've had with him.
If someone was to tell you that you would be in love with Rafe Cameron, you would have laughed in their face. Growing up in town, everyone knew each other so it was easy to create a reputation for yourself.
You of course knew how much of a jerk Rafe was, how he would treat people who weren’t kooks like himself. He wasn’t like that with you though, you were hesitant to open up your heart to him when he first started pursuing you at your job at the country club but the more persistent he was, the more you found yourself enjoying his company.
You have been dating Rafe for a year now, life feels like a blur when you are around him. He’s sweet and caring when it comes to you.
“What’s going on here?” the deep voice question, stopping you and Rafe in your tracks before you could even get into his room.
“Shit,” Rafe curses under his breath as he turns to face his dad, noticing the anger already forming on his face.
“Um… we were just going to study,” Rafe stutters out, you could feel the tension between them as you stood there quietly, playing with the ring on your finger. Of course Ward wasn’t believing any of the crap that’s coming out of his son’s mouth based on the fact that he couldn’t trust him.
“Are you and her dating?” Ward asks, looking from Rafe to you with a disgusted look in his eyes which you do not miss.
“Um…yes sir,” Rafe confesses, hesitation evident in his tone, tensing up from being in his dad’s presence. This is the only time you've ever seen him freeze up like this.
“May I talk to you in my office?” Rafe goes to open his mouth to protest but Ward cuts him off. “I was just being nice, get your ass in my office.”
Once Ward disappears, Rafe turns to face you, you could see the frightened expression on his face, the sadness that took over his blue eyes and all you want to do is restart the night so this wouldn’t have happened if you just decided to go to your place like you usually do.
“Just wait in my room while I sort this out with him,” he begins, his hand rubbing your arm up and down softly as you quietly shake your head yes. “I love you,” Rafe whispers, leaning in to capture your soft lips with his, your legs getting shaky as you love the feeling you get whenever he kisses you, it always was filled with passion and when he will break apart, he would hold you tight as he kisses your forehead.
You wanted to stay in that moment but as he pulls away, turning his back to you as he heads into his dad’s office, you can already feel the cold air replace the warmth of his arms.
“Rafe, are you fucking serious?” Ward spits out, the anger now clearly taking effect of his tone and facial expressions as he looks at his son, not believing he would stoop this low to disappoint him.
“You’re dating a pogue?!” He questions, the disgust sounding so evidently as he speaks. “Do you know how many girls you can date that’s the same status as you, why go for someone as low as her?”
Rafe feels the anger building up in him, hearing how his father talks about you. He saw more to you than what your status is. You’re the only one who saw potential into him and was the only girl to put a genuine smile to his face. “Don’t talk about (name) like that, her status doesn't mean shit to me!” Rafe almost shouts but corrects his tone to not get into more trouble than he already was.
“I thought I taught you better than this, her status means everything especially when she’s only with you because of your money!” Ward expresses, hitting his desk making Rafe jump a bit, his own facial expression matching the one that's on his father’s face.
“Why can’t you just… fucking believe in me for once?!” Rafe shouts back, heart elevating as he clenches his hands into a fist. “Is it that hard for you to trust that this decision I'm making is a good choice?”
“(Name), loves me for who I am, not for the popularity or the money, she loves me,” Rafe exhales a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “I know if you just gave her a ch—”
“Enough! There’s absolutely no chance, I’m going to have my son make a fool out of me, going around being seen with someone beneath his status!” Ward interrupts. “You forget everything you do affects my status as well and I can’t have that.”
Ward takes a breath before his next sentence, locking eye contact with Rafe so he can show just how serious he is being. “It’s either you break up with her or I’ll cut you off and you will become her status. Choose wisely!” Rafe's eyes widened in shock, cut off? He cannot believe his father would go this far into hurting him like this.
He wants to say something that will remedy the situation but he knows that there’s no saving the predicament he’s been given nor was he planning to push it. “Okay…” Rafe softly whispers as he turns his back to his father and walks out the office, coming up with ideas he can think of to say to you that wouldn’t get you upset. Hopefully, you will understand that he had to go this route.
You didn’t know what to do while waiting for Rafe to come back, you’re curious to what’s happening and worried for him not intending for him to get in trouble with his dad as you just wanted to spend more time with him.
At this moment, you’re pacing back and forth in his room when you hear the doorknob twist and the door pushes open, immediately having you run over to him, wrapping your arms around his waist as you pull him in your embrace, feeling the warmth you missed but when he doesn’t hug you back as he always did, you could sense something wrong and step back.
“What’s wrong?” You question, worry is very evident in your tone as you look into his blue eyes that hints a little sadness in them.
“Get out.”
You blink twice, trying to understand what he’s implying, fidgeting with the ring he gave you, something you found yourself doing out of habit when things were bad. “What?” You question in shock.
“Look, us… we’re not going to work out…” he speaks and you take a step back, a sad expression taking over your facial expression.
“W…Why?” You stutter out, couldn’t believe what you were hearing, you didn’t think tonight was going to come to this.
“Listen to what I’m saying, in order to still have my inheritance, I have to break up with you...” He breathes out, knocking all the air from you as you take everything in, it feels like your heart was breaking into pieces and couldn’t be picked back up.
“My dad was right, I can’t be seen with a pogue, anyone that's around me should be a kook, a person who comes from money.”
“Excuse me? A conversation with your dad and you just going to throw our relationship away just like that?!” You start off, not giving him any room to talk, he did enough and you didn’t want to hear his voice. “You told me, you didn’t care about labels, was that just a lie to get into my pants?!”
“Was everything we had together just one big facade?” You ask calmly, tears filling your eyes as you try to fight them back. “I…I thought you loved me…isn’t our relationship worth fighting for? Don’t I mean something to you?” As much as you hate the way your voice cracks, not wanting to show your vulnerable side to him after breaking the trust you once had with him.
“A pogue like you means absolutely nothing to me.”
Hearing him say that is the last straw for you, you couldn’t stand to see his face anymore. The thoughts start piling in your head thinking how you were proven wrong for even trusting him in the first place. Everyone warned you about him but no you were too blind to see behind the version of him he gave you.
You walk up to him, locking eye contact with him. “Whenever you see me around, don’t talk to me, don’t even look at me. I never want to see you again, fuck you Rafe Cameron.” You speak before walking past him, not looking back at him.
Holding everything in you as you make your way downstairs, only breaking into tears and sliding to your knees as your legs stop working once the door closes behind you. Feeling all the emotions you were holding back to the point where it’s overwhelming. How could he do this? How could he treat you like a princess but then stomp on your heart?
Heavy sobs leave your throat as you pull out your phone, you can’t just stay here all night. You pull up John b’s contact, eyes a little blurry from all the tears. You listen to the phone ring a couple of times before hearing a tired ‘hello’ come out.
“Hi… JB, I’m sorry for waking you up but can you please come pick me up?”

I log onto tumblr sometimes just to see your posts lol, and I love all the smut content, but I was wondering of you’d write something for a reader who isn’t feeling up to having sex one night, and they’re worried about how Jason will react but instead of being pushy about it Jason just cuddles the reader and affirms that they’re valid?
(I might be going through it a bit and feel this would be nice to read)
Thank you!! Also I think I needed this too lol
He was running on that post patrol adrenaline rush that leaves him looking for any outlet of release. Usually one in particular. You. He comes in through the window of the living room and lets his boots thudding on the ground be your warning. Before he even closes the window, his helmet is taken off his head and dropped to the carpet. He’s usually so careful about his precious equipment but desperate times call for desperate measures.
The clatter of his helmet is loud, much louder than his boots. You can hear it from under the water of your bath. You lift your head above water, and by the time you clear the water from your eyes, he’s standing in the doorway. His chest is heaving. You can see the tight coils of his fists, the lines of tension in the shoulders, the clench of his jaw. You know what he’s looking for.
But tonight isn’t the night for that.
You don’t stop him when he kneels on the ground by the tub and takes your dripping face between his hands, or when he kisses you with the enthusiasm of a starved man. His hands trail from your face to your neck and then trail down your collarbones, and down more. You pull away.
His hands stop. His face tilts like a confused puppy. There is a slight worry in his eyes, and unspoken what happened.
The words are hard to find. “I don’t um. I don’t think we should-. Maybe it would be-.” His hands trail down to yours. He holds them in his and gives a light squeeze, an encouragement, a go on. “I just don’t quite feel up to it tonight.”
He gives you a small smile, one reserved for you and you only. He gives your hand a gentle kiss, and then your cheek. “Ok. That’s alright. Ain’t nothing wrong with that.”
You search his eyes for any sign that he might be lying. You can’t find any but just to be safe, you ask, “are you sure?”
He tilts his head again and smiles. “Of course I’m sure.” He moves his body to make himself more comfortable sitting on the ground. He brings his elbow to the lip of the tub and rests his chin on his hand. “So what have you been up to while I was gone?” The easiness of the question makes you feel a little warm and fuzzy. There’s just something about the casual tone in which he says it, like he wasn’t planning to fuck you not even five minutes ago.
“I’ve just been in the bath.” You swirl some of the water around for emphasis. His nose scrunches when a few droplets of water hit his face. You try to hide your laugh.
“The whole time?” You were hoping he wouldn’t ask. You’ve had to rerun the water a few times after it got cold. You just couldn’t get yourself to get started for some reason.
“Yeah.” You watch the calculating and searching look in his eyes. He doesn’t ask why. You don’t want to explain, not right now.
“Do you want me to wash you? I don’t mind. If you’re ok with it that is.” He moves to sit on the lip of the tub. You just watch him.
“You wouldn’t mind?” He’s already answered the question, but doubt lingers in the back of your mind.
“I’d be happy to. My hands really need something to do right now. Washing your hair would help.”
You smile and nod as you bring your knees to your chest. You wrap your arms around them and drop your head down to watch him reach for the shampoo. Maybe it was something in his training, but that man is incredible at scalp massages.

Hii !! Can you write smut about Lando at the beach or on a yacht ? <3
Lando Norris x Reader
A/N: icymi I have the hots for innocent little lando norris
Warnings: SMUT 18+ Blow job, m! receiving, sub! Lando, jealousy, not proof read.
You've heard that jealousy is bad. It's the big green monster that ruins relationships. Luckily, you never had the chance to experience it. Until now. Something about the way that bitch laughed at Lando's lame jokes and kept touching his arm, triggered the wrong nerve. A primal urge to mark your territory rose in you. You were on a mission.
"Hey guys. How you doin'?" You walked over to Lando and the tramp. "Hey Y/N. Lando was just telling me how to beat Wario on Super Mario. I'm always stuck there." Her voice was annoyingly pitchy and her fucking hand was not moving away from your man. And that muppet was oblivious.
"Really? I beat him on the first try. Guess some of us know when to stop." You stared the girl down. Lando finally got to his senses and felt the tension simmering. "Anyways, I'm gonna borrow Lando for a bit." You didn't for a reply before dragging him to the little storage room in the yacht.
"Um. Can I ask what's happening or..?" Lando dragged looking at you with those innocent hazel green eyes. "You didn't know what she was doing?" You were wondering if he was mocking you or if he was genuinely confused. "She was asking about Super Mario." He shrugged. "God you're so adorable" You couldn't help how annoyingly innocent he was. You pushed him against the door and hungrily caught his lips.
You felt like an animal and you wanted the whole jungle to know who your mate is. You made sure to leave marks on his neck and he whined and gasped at your feral mission. "Baby, that's gonna leave a mark." He mumbled. The absence of a shirt worked out perfectly. You were on your knees and swiftly removed his swimsuit. Lando threw his headback but instead hit his head on the door. "Fuck" He half moaned as you started pumping him. You could see the precum leaking. As much as you wanted to feel his weight on your tongue, you also wanted to tease just a wee bit for unknowingly being a little slut. Lando's whines were getting louder by the stroke.
"Love, please I can't hold much longer." He gasped. "Patience baby boy. If you wanted me to get you off, all you had to do was ask. You didn't have to let some bimbo feel you up." You looked up at him with a pout, taunting him. "Baby, I swear, I didn't know she was flirting with me. I got all excited about Wario. Please ba- Fuck" You took all of him in. You bobbed your head. You could sense he was getting close. You pulled him out and kitten licked his slit, almost sending him to oblivion.
His moans were turning into borderline screams. Lando was no stranger to being loud in bed but being loud in public was a new thing. You smirked as he gripped your hair. "Shit Y/N I'm gonna cum. Please let me cum in your mouth baby. Fuckin' hell." He didn't have to tell you twice. You continued sucking him till he came in you. Your mouth filled with his seed and you swallowed every single drop. He looked like a fucking Greek God from your point of view, all flushed and innocent.
He pulled out of you and helped you up. You kissed him softly. He smiled against your lips. "It's cute when you get jealous baby." He mumbled. "I wasn't jealous. I was being territorial, there's a difference." You rolled your eyes. "Admit it you have the hots for me" He giggled. "Well unfortunately I have a lifetime of hots for you." You smiled lifting your left hand as the sun shone on your ring finger making the diamond glisten.

For Kinktober - Prompt: Rough Sex
Write-tober Masterlist
Moon Knight Masterlist
18+ Only MDNI
A/N: Um…. Pretend this was posted yesterday. Thanks.
Summary: Sometimes you just need Steven to take control.
Pairing: Dom!Steven Grant x Sub!fem reader
WC: 1.6k
This work contains: Rough sex (duh), sex as a coping mechanism, dirty talk, hair pulling, marking, biting, hickies, fingering, PiV, maybe a little allusion to sub space, possibly SLIGHT angst but it’s not much.
Being anything but gentle with you in bed didn’t come naturally to Steven; he had his moments for sure, but for the most part he defaulted to being soft and sweet.
You made no mistake though, he could absolutely wreck you if you asked him to. Sometimes you had a day where you needed him to take you apart, usually when the stress of life was weighing heavy on your shoulders.
Today was one of those days.
As soon as you had come home from work late, Steven could practically see the tension radiating off of you.
Dinner was quiet, but behind your eyes he could see your thoughts racing. Then you started fidgeting, bouncing your leg, anything to release some of that built up energy.
He knew what was coming. And he was more than happy to help.
So when the both of you had settled onto the couch for the night, he wasn’t the least bit surprised when you climbed into his lap to straddle him.
“Is this okay?” You asked him softly, resting your hands on his shoulders. “We don’t have to if you-“
“Love, I want to,” he cut you off with that sweet voice you had been missing all day, hands splayed across your back. “And what do you want?”
You thought about it for a moment, feeling the built up energy from the day burning inside of you. You needed to let it out.
“I just need to let go,” you managed to find your words, scared that if you spoke much more that you would break completely. “Please.”
Steven’s hands at your back pulled you closer until you were leaning against him in a slightly awkward hug.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered next to your ear, one hand tangling in your hair. In one swift movement, he wrapped your hair around his fist and pulled your head back to expose your throat.
His soft lips immediately went to your neck, nipping and sucking marks into the tender skin.
Little high pitched moans escaped you, each press of his lips or brush of his teeth seeming to light your nerves on fire.
Your hips started grinding into his without you even thinking about it, making him groan against your skin as you got the friction both of you were craving.
Steven pulled away from you, letting your hair free from his fist.
“Needy girl,” he purred, bringing both of his hands around to your front to unbutton your shirt with nimble fingers. “So impatient.”
Once your shirt was undone, he pulled it off of your arms as quickly as humanly possible. You yanked his white t-shirt over his head as well, your hands immediately roaming his bare skin.
His hands palmed at your still covered breasts, kneading and toying with them. You arched your back to press your chest into his hands, still grinding your hips.
You reached one hand behind your back to unclip your bra, and Steven let it fall as the straps slipped down your shoulders.
You eagerly reached between the two of you to start fiddling with the waistband of his pants, but he grabbed your wrists in a firm grip.
“Not yet, love,” his gaze hardened, eyes darkening. “Be a good girl for me. Up you get now.”
A tad confused, you stood up from your spot on his lap and he followed close behind.
You let out a surprised gasp as he picked you up and threw you over his shoulder, carrying you out of the living room and into the bedroom.
As quickly as you were flung over his shoulder, you were falling backwards onto the bed as he tossed you on.
Your body barely settled into the mattress before Steven was on top of you again, holding you down with his body weight as his lips went back to your skin.
This time he worked his way down your chest, leaving little marks as he went. He paid extra attention to your tits, taking extra time to suck light bruises across the tender skin that you knew would last for a couple days.
You loved it.
You could feel the wetness between your legs growing, and you squirmed beneath him as your desperation got nearly unbearable.
“Steven, please,” you pled through heavy breaths, bucking your hips in an attempt to get some relief.
He hummed in acknowledgement, kissing down your stomach until he reached the waistline of your jeans.
His fingers slipped beneath the waistband, unbuttoning and unzipping them before he tugged both your pants and your underwear down your legs impatiently. You managed to kick them off and onto the floor once they reached your ankles.
He sat up on his knees, settling between your spread legs.
“My pretty girl,” he cooed, immediately running a single finger up your slit. “Look how wet you are for me already.”
You could see his finger glisten in the light as he held it up for you to see briefly, then brought it back down between your legs.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you're well and taken care of,” he promised, immediately bringing his thumb to your clit.
You tensed up like you had been electrocuted, arching your back as he started rubbing the sensitive bud quickly.
“Oh shit,” you hissed out, a choked moan getting caught in your throat as you finally got the stimulation your body was begging for.
As his thumb rubbed circles around your clit, two of his fingers nudged at your soaked entrance before slowly pushing in.
His free hand rested on your lower stomach, adding to the warmth you were already feeling.
You threw your head back against the pillows as he curled his fingers to find that sweet spot inside of you, rubbing against it with a steady rhythm and shallow thrusts.
You closed your eyes and let yourself get lost in the sensations, waves of arousal pounding through you as you felt the heat in you build up faster than you thought should be possible.
There was no doubt that Steven knew how to use his hands to take you apart entirely.
You could feel the stress of the day leaving your body, like a flood of warmth and relief was washing over you.
Between his fingers in you and his thumb on your clit, you weren’t going to last long if he kept it up.
However, he didn’t give you the chance to get that far. Suddenly his fingers were gone, his hands disappearing from you completely.
You let out a quick whine, opening your eyes slowly to look at him in confusion.
“You didn’t think I was going to let you cum yet, did you love?” Steven’s sweet voice broke through the haze of your ecstasy, bringing you back down to earth. “The only way you’re cumming tonight is on my cock.”
A smirk briefly crossed your face at his words, thinking about how he never would have been talking like that when you first met him.
“That’s my boy,” you murmured with a smile, and he grinned back at you as he climbed off of the bed to shuck off his pants and boxers quickly.
His hard cock sprung free, and he let out a sigh of relief before crawling back up onto the bed.
He lifted your legs with his strong hands, hooking your knees over his shoulders.
“Comfortable?” He asked before he kept going, always a gentleman even when he was about to destroy you.
You nodded breathlessly, your hands grabbing his arms tightly as you felt the head of his cock nudge at your soaked entrance.
In one swift movement, he buried himself in you to the hilt with a soft groan. It only took him a moment to set a punishing pace, hips slapping against the skin of your ass.
You couldn’t hold back your cries of pleasure as he hit deep inside of you, each thrust jerking you forward slightly.
Your nails dug into his arms, but he barely noticed because of how warm and soft you felt around him. It was heavenly.
“Still so… shit,” he choked on his words as you squeezed around him. “Still so tight for me.”
He leaned forward, practically bending you in half as he fucked you hard and fast.
The sound of skin hitting skin mixed with moans, but it quickly became background noise as you once again lost yourself in the pure pleasure Steven was giving you.
You were barrelling towards your orgasm, each thrust of his cock hitting the perfect spot inside of you to bring you to absolute ruin.
“Ste-Steven, baby,” you stuttered out, barely able to catch your breath as he relentlessly pounded into you.
“I know, me too,” he barely managed to get out, his thrusts growing sloppier. “Come on, love.”
A few more perfectly timed thrusts was all it took for you to fall apart, clenching down hard on him as you came.
Steven wasn’t far behind, filling you to the brim as the movements of his hips slowed but didn’t quite stop.
He let your legs down from his shoulders, and they dropped onto the bed like they were simply dead weight.
Steven laid himself over you completely, burying his face in the crook of your neck as his hips stopped thrusting.
Both of you were breathing fast and hard, his cock still twitching inside of you as you laid together.
You felt like you could fly, completely lost in the mind shattering orgasm you just had.
You vaguely registered him pulling out of you, letting his cum drip down your thighs.
Even as Steven rolled the two of you over so you were on top of him, you felt boneless.
“Was that alright?” He asked somewhat nervously, and you couldn’t help but giggle a bit.
“It was perfect, honey,” you assured him, resting your head against his chest. “Thank you.”

a/n: set after 6x06 and heavily references 6x03 bc they were blessings
Sometime after they stop kissing — alright, they don't really stop, but languid silences, soft giggling, and sweet nothings fill some of the space in between kisses as they curl up together on his bed in the Starscraper — Callum asks, "So, what were you crying about on the Ray of Illumination?"
The sun is rising above the sea of clouds outside their bedroom window, and for a moment he regrets bringing up anything potentially sad, both of them happier than they've been in years, honestly. They have everything they need for her parents, his connection to Aaravos has been severed, the light and truth of her love filling the cracks in his heart, instead, and finally, finally she knows that his heart has always belonged to her. That it always will.
But he's always been curious, and he's always wanted to sooth whatever's troubling her, fix whatever is breaking her heart, and she'd had a good deal to cry over just a couple weeks ago — maybe even something from the last two years apart — and... he wants to know. He wants to help.
And, slowly, he thinks she's getting to a place where she wants him to be able to, where she'll let him.
"Oh, um..." Rayla averts her eyes, fingers tangled with his, but her smile doesn't dim. She sticks her tongue in her cheek. "It's a bit silly, really."
"Still." He uses his free hand to brush his thumb over the curve of her cheek, the blue bend of her marking, where he knows the tears would've fallen.
"Just an old diary written by the captain. Esme something. Stella pushed it open." Rayla scoots a bit closer and Callum lets go of her hand to wrap his arm around her, more than happy to give into her desire to be held; he never feels more at peace than when he's holding her, now more than ever.
The bump of the tip of his nose against hers as a gentle prod. "And?"
Rayla turns her face down, his lips brushing her brow, but he can still tell she's worrying her bottom lip between her teeth. He wants to angle his face down and kiss that worry away, draw her lips to his, but refrains. They have plenty of time, after all. To kiss, and rest, and prepare for their journey. It's close to dawn now, and Callum knows they won't leave till the day after tomorrow at least — they need supplies for the journey to the Nexus, recover from their trials, and to say goodbye to their new friends here.
Finally, Rayla explains, "She was writing during the last days of her life, on that ship I guess. About a man she left behind. Her one true love, Conrad."
"Oh." Callum pulls her further into a hug on instinct, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Just... resonated with me," she nearly sniffles, laughing weakly, but her smile is real and reaches her eyes when he glances down to check. "I'm sure you can imagine why."
"Lots of stuff about what she would've said if she saw him again?"
"Mmhm."
"Think I can relate to that too," he hums, giving her forehead another kiss. "I love you, Rayla," he repeats for what might be the millionth time that day, but he already knows he can never say it enough. He's always known that. "I'm so glad you came back."
She wraps her arms tighter around his torso, cuddling in closer, tension ebbing out of her and face half pressed to his scarf. "I'm so happy you're here, Callum," she sighs warmly.
"Always." He strokes her hair, wondering if she'll fall asleep like this—it always got her a little drowsy in the past—or if she'll let him weave her braid for her one of these days, musing, and then... "The Captain's name wasn't Esmerelda Skall, was it?"
Rayla lifts her head, brow furrowed adorably. "Er, yeah, it was. Why? How do you know that?"
"She was a famous explorer in the Human Kingdoms. Charted out a lot of our maps up north. My Dad—King Harrow—took me on a diplomatic mission once to Del Bar, where she's from, when I was eleven or twelve." There's a warm, content feeling blooming in his chest that he'll get to give her closure on this, too, somehow. "Conrad founded a town near the capitol and served as mayor. He named it after her. He loved her all his life—put a grave marker for her next to his when he died and everything."
Rayla's "Oh" comes out choked and small, but her smile is wide as she blinks back tears. "That's—that's beautiful. I guess he really—"
"—loved her?" Callum finishes, curling two fingers under her chin to lift her face for a moment. Then he brushes away the real tears trickling over, drawing her further into his snug embrace. Her breath is beautifully warm as it fans over his lips before he kisses her, soft and firm. "Yes. I really do."

Karl leaves some gummies that are aphrodisiacs, Quackity who passes by sees them and eats almost all of them, then the aphrodisiacs take effect and he goes home to solve his problem but you are right at his house 🤭🤭
prompt: alex eats special gummies
okayokayokay, this one was interesting to write… sorry if it’s too short!
alex was visiting a few of his friends at karl’s house. afterwards, you were supposed to meet him at his house and discuss his plans for his next big stream, as he decided that he wanted you in it.
unbeknownst to you,
alex was feeling a little bit peckish. as his friends chatted and laughed about random stuff, he asked karl,
“hey man, is it okay if i get a glass of water?”
to which karl scolded him for even asking, as alexis was obviously welcome to do practically anything at karl’s house.
and so he went to the kitchen and got a glass of water but then went to the food pantry to find what he was actually there for.
as he scoured through the pantry, he found a small bag of sour gummies. he proceeded to open the bag and frowned when he saw there was only one inside. he decided to eat it and look for any other of the same candy.
he had to dig through a few shelves when he finally found a fancy looking box full of similar heart shaped sour gummies. the front had some words in a different language. alex shrugged and ate one. then two… then a few more.
when his tummy was satisfied, he put the gummies back and returned to his friends in the next room.
after about 30 minutes or so, alex started to feel a little funny and so he decided to say goodbye and make his way home.
“oh fuck oh fuck… what the fuck is going on?” he said to himself as he paced his bathroom, hoping that he was just nauseous and needed to vomit
nothing came out… but something definitely came up.
he was hard… like rock hard.
he was as hard as he was when he ate a sex drive enhancement pill on a dare a few years back.
he needed relief from the building tension down below. he decided to go to his room and open his phone to pornhub.
he found a really pretty girl who just so happened to look similar to you.
he laid back in bed and undid his jeans, slowly taking his hard cock out. he started to rub himself, whimpering at the friction.
he bit his lip as he tried to concentrate and get off, his movements quickened to the sounds of the girl on the video.
he stopped as he realized that he wanted, no, needed more. this wasn’t enough.
a knock at his front door steered his focus away from what he was doing
shit… y/n was here
he completely forgot that you were coming over. he got himself dressed again and opened the door a sliver to see you
“hey! i brought you some coffee!” you said, holding two cups of iced coffee
“um.. actually, im not feeling well… can we rain check this for another day?” alex said, faking a cough
your face furrowed in worry
“what’s wrong? here, let me in so i can take care of you” you said
“n-no! … i mean um, im really gross right now and throwing up everywhere. i dont want to get you sick too” he said quickly
you shook your head and laughed softly, pushing the door open and moving past alex
“nonsense! i’ll make you that soup you love. it’ll fix you right up” you replied
alex was silent. you turned to look at him and saw that he had his hands obviously hiding his crotch
“do you have to pee or something? come sit down so i can get a better look at you” you gently lead him to his couch and he didn’t dare look your way at all. now you were really starting to worry
“alex? what’s wrong?” you asked and he shook his head, tears welling up in his eyes
“alex, please talk to me” you practically pleaded
“it’s so s-stupid… please don’t make me say it, it’s embarrassing” he said through sniffles
“oh lexie, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. i’m your friend, okay? i promise i won’t judge you. i just want to make sure you’re okay.” you reassured him
“fine… i was at karl’s and i got hungry. so i ate these stupid fucking gummies and they’re… they’re for… they make you horny! and i don’t even know how many i ate and this stupid god damn raging boner won’t go away!” he put his head down and cried softly from being overwhelmed
after deep thought, you pulled him up from the couch and started leading him to his bedroom
“let’s lay you down, okay?” you said and alex nodded softly
as you laid him down, he sighed and closed his eyes. this was the perfect moment.
you started by pulling off his beanie and you ruffled his hair. you then began to take his sweatpants off and he suddenly opened his eyes
“y/n? w-what—“
“shh, just let me take care of you”
his bulge was visible now. his dick was tucked underneath the waistband of his boxers with his leaking head peaking out. you crawled on top of him and helped him take off his shirt. your mouth immediately went to his neck, leaving wet open mouth kisses. you trailed down lower and attached your lips to one of his nipples.
alex whimpered and bucked his hips up at the sensation of your tongue circling around his sensitive nubs. you sucked and bit his skin, trailing down lower and lower.
as you were right underneath his bellybutton, you looked up at him as if asking for permission
“please y/n… please do something… i can’t take it anymore” he whined, tangling his fingers in your hair
you licked up his prominent shaft through his boxers and he was crying again, this time not from embarrassment but from pleasure. you laughed softly and released his member from his boxers, sliding the article of clothing off his body and onto the floor somewhere.
you took his long dick in your small hand and began to pump him at a slow pace, making sure to lick up all the precum from his tip.
“oh fuck! yes! m-more!”
“i barely did anything” you laughed, going back to running your tongue on his tip
“it’s just so good” he grunted as he bucked into your face
“get on your knees” he said suddenly and you quickly got down from the bed and onto your knees
you looked up at him as you fully engulfed him into your mouth. alex threw his head back and started to slowly find a pace in which he thrusted himself deeper into your throat
what you couldn’t fit into your mouth, your hands took care of expertly
“god—yes! y/n, you have such a pretty little dirty fucking mouth—ah!” he held your head with both hands now, forcing himself down your throat until you couldn’t breathe
your eyes were watery, causing your makeup to run, and you were gagging like crazy around his cock but you couldn’t care less, he sounded too good to stop
“stand up and bend over the bed” he growled and you did exactly that
he was behind you now, rubbing his tip between your slippery wet lips. you mewled as he rubbed against your clit with his cock, loving the feeling
“please just put it in! g-give it to me lexie, please!” now you were the one whining
as he entered your warm slick cunt, he gathered your hair in one hand and pulled your head back to reveal your neck. he kissed and sucked the skin right underneath your ear and left little dark colored bruised from sucking so hard
“bet you’ve imagined this huh? me burying my cock deep inside of you?” he asked and all you could do was moan out his name
“i’ve fantasized about exactly this. bending you over my bed, taking all of you. fuck.. you’re so fucking tight! joder, mami, you really know how to take it, don’t you?” he said as he sped his pace up, his balls smacking against your plump ass
“you feel s-so good… nghh!” you whimpered out
you were pushing yourself backwards onto his cock, meeting his thrusts
“i don’t think i— im close alex! ‘m so c-close!” you cried out, throwing your head down into the mattress to muffle your screams
“yeah baby? so soon? aw, c’mon, i know you can last longer hm, chiquita?” he purred and still sped up, giving your ass a loud smack
a few more thrusts and you came with a shout of his name. as you came down from your high, your body shuddered with complete pleasure. after catching your breath, you sunk down to your knees in front of him once again
he grabbed your chin forcefully and said in a gruff voice, “open up, sweetheart”
you did as he ordered and he laid his swollen tip on your tongue as his hand pumped himself quickly
your mouth was wide open and you were whimpering with anticipation for his cum
alex was moaning louder than before and finally, he came in short spurts on your tongue and down your chin
he caught his breath and took you to his bed. the two of you laid down, you on his chest comfortably and completely fucked out.
“are you… are you still hard, alexis?” you asked with genuine surprise
“yeah” he laughed
“round two?” you offered in an innocent voice and he laughed even more
“si mi amor, just give me a sec” and he held you tightly to his body

remus lupin x reader
cw: athlete’s foot
You perk up at the sound of Remus’ voice, his gentle humming as he closes the door. He smiles when he sees you. “Evening, sweetheart.”
“Hey,” you reply, making sure to tuck your feet under the blanket. “Hey, Rem.”
You crane your neck when he comes round the table to give you a kiss, his hand going to cradle the back of your head. He ruffles your hair before setting his bag down.
“How’d the appointment go?” he asks, rummaging in it for something.
“Oh, that,” you say lightly. “It went great, yeah.”
“So what’d they say?”
Remus pulls out and hands you your favourite bar of chocolate. You squeeze his hand gratefully.
“They, um… didn’t say much. It was just a rash or something like that,” you reply quickly. You unwrap the foil and break off a chunk, popping it into your mouth.
You had been in pain more often than not for the past couple of days. Your feet started to turn red and itchy, skin peeling off and you had no idea why. It was painful even to walk. Remus had gently chided you until you agreed to go see a doctor.
He arches an eyebrow. “Really? I don’t think rashes are supposed to last that long, or itch that
much, dove.”
You shrug. “I dunno. But that’s what they said.”
Remus sits down next to you, hand coming to lightly rest on your knee. He gives it a friendly squeeze. “Can I have a look?”
You instinctively glance downwards again to check that the blanket is over your foot. You shake your head.
Remus smiles knowingly. “There’s something you’re not telling me.”
“I’m telling you everything.”
“You’re not,” he says again, not unkindly. He moves his hand up to your thigh and rubs it consolingly. “Is it that bad?”
You wince.
“Not bad, just…” you exhale, letting the tension seep out. “Embarrassing, y’know?”
“Embarrassing, hm?” Remus touches your elbow gently. “I’m not going to force you to tell me anything you don’t want to, lovely. But I hope you know I wouldn’t make fun of you.”
You lean into his touch, and he wraps an arm around you readily. “I know,” you murmur. “I know you’d never make fun of me. You’re too nice for that.”
He hums in response, pressing his lips to your hair.
The act is so gentle, so loving, so Remus. You can’t help but to give in.
You sigh. “It’s athlete’s foot.”
He stays quiet, letting you continue. The gentle pressure of his thumb on your arm helps a tad. “It’s not super bad, so I’ve got some over-the-counter antifungal cream.”
“Good.” He squeezes your arm. “That’s good. You really thought I’d make fun of you for that, lovely?”
“Well…” you say bashfully, clearing your throat. “I mean yeah, kind of.”
He gives you a teasing smile and kisses your temple. “You could tell me you grew a toe on your forehead —“ he tugs you closer as you burst out in giggles, “— and I still wouldn’t think you’re weird, sweetheart.”

Don't cha wanna dance?
Written for the @steddieholidaydrabbles, day 30/31

Notes: Continued from day 22. This is for @sourw0lfs and @wormdebut specifically, who very gently bullied talked me into writing more dancer!Steve. 🩰
Eddie has never understood new year's resolutions. He believes that, if he wanted to change something about himself, he could do it any time. Like quit smoking. Or stop biting his nails. Or be less of a goddamn push-over.
Okay, so maybe the latter is something he should really, really work on, ‘cause it's gotten him into a whole shitload of unfortunate situations lately. As if chauffeuring Max to her stupid ballet classes wasn't enough. Now he's also helping out at the dancing school’s annual Christmas recital, because he's just such a nice guy, apparently.
While he tries to arrange the lopsided folding chairs into something resembling a neat line, he struggles to remember when he agreed to this shit. For the life of him, he can't recall. His brain was probably flat-lining when Max asked him, as it tends to do around a certain very hot dance teacher and his muscles and his tights and-
“Looking good!”
He whips his head up. Steve is standing a few paces away. The tights are a pale pink today. Jesus Christ.
“You too,” Eddie blurts. Steve's eyebrow arches and shit, he wasn't talking about Eddie, was he? “I mean, thanks, I … ow, son of a-”
“Oh, shit!” Steve is next to him in an instant, freeing his hand from the maws of the folding chair. Eddie swears, sucks his throbbing thumb into his mouth. “Sorry, these things are ancient. You need an ice pack? I've got some-”
“‘m good,” Eddie says. Tries to go for suave. Fails because he's still got his own thumb up his mouth like a fucking two-year-old. “Had worse.”
Steve’s face is a mask of doubt, but he doesn’t say anything.
“Anyhow,” he smiles instead, putting the offending chair in line with the rest. “I just wanted to say thanks again. You're probably busy enough around the holidays, but Max insisted you'd be happy to help.”
“I'm not,” Eddie says. Pauses. Grabs a strand of hair to hide behind. “Busy, I mean. I am happy to help, so … don't sweat it, or whatever.”
A heartbeat passes in awkward silence.
“So, what's with the, um …” Eddie says. Watches how Steve tilts his head at him, hair swooshing with the motion. Briefly considers stuffing his thumb back in his mouth to shut himself up. “... with the y’know. The getup.”
Something flashes across Steve’s face, something dangerously akin to hurt.
“What?” he asks, doing a hesitant three-sixty. “Something wrong with it?”
Screw the thumb, Eddie thinks. He needs to find a way to fit his entire hand in there. And Steve, for what it’s worth, needs to stop twirling, or they're about to have a massive fucking problem.
“It’s fine!” he says. Maybe a bit too fast, because he thinks Steve’s mouth curls into a smug smile. “I just mean, um … you’re not … dancing today, are you?”
Is he? Oh dear God, please no. The place is gonna be swarming with proud parents and relatives, Eddie is not ready for the inevitable consequences of Steve in his pink tights on that stage. Not in the skinny jeans he had to wear today, stupid fucking moron that he is.
“Huh? No, tonight is all about the girls,” Steve says. Eddie is so busy sighing in relief and nodding that he doesn’t catch the next words.
“Sorry, what?”
“That other recital I was talking about earlier? You coming to that, too?” Steve repeats, and fuck, what other recital? Eddie really needs to work on his listening skills. If he actually listened instead of staring at the guy like a catatonic caveman every so often, he might be able to maintain a halfway intelligent conversation.
He’d also probably know why Steve is suddenly coming closer. Eddie tries to take a frantic step backwards and almost crashes into the folding chairs.
“Oh, erm …,” he stammers. “When was it again?”
Stever reaches up to run a hand through his hair, boyish and bashful.
“Um, New Year's Eve,” he says apologetically. “I totally understand if you already have plans, it's just… There's a little get-together after the show, too, with drinks and snacks, and I thought-”
“Sure, I'll be there,” Eddie says.
See, what did he say? Total push-over.
The thing is, with the way Steve’s eyes light up, he can't really find it in himself to regret it.
*
“Ew, what happened to your finger?” Max looks about as disgusted as she sounds. Which is probably fair, because Eddie’s thumb has turned a vibrant purple.
“These little babies did,” Eddie gestures offhandedly at the chairs they're stacking against the wall. “So be careful.”
“Were you staring at Steve again?”
“Fuck off, I wasn't.”
She pushes the hair that has come loose from its bun out of her eyes so she can give him a deadpan stare. Eddie glowers right back.
“And even if I was, what's it to you? You can be glad I keep showing up to these gigs. Today, on New Year's Eve, it's really getting-”
“What are you on about?” Her entire face scrunches up in confusion. “There's no recital on-”
“Oh no?” Eddie pulls the flier Steve gave him from his pocket and pushes it into her chest. “Then what's this?”
“That's not our school, dumbass. Check the address.”
She studies it for a second.
“Huh? What d'you…?” Eddie is already squinting at the letters again. Sure enough, the address doesn't match the one he's been driving Max to. Instead, it's somewhere downtown. “What?”
“That's the studio Steve goes to,” Max has already returned to stacking chairs. “Super fancy place. He used to be a pro, y’know? Before he tore that muscle?”
When Eddie doesn’t reply, she tugs the flier from his limp fingers, folds it neatly and puts it into his jacket pocket.
“Happy new year, doofus. Better wear bulky pants.”
