"While we are at the topic of foreign teams." The group stopped and looked at the TV again.

He knew why, all because of the damn smile of his. Ranze had laughed at what you said, his smile evident and catching the eye of the young child.

That smile, mainly his teeth, being the cause for the child cry’s. He looked away, hoping that the mother to the child wouldn’t notice the perpetrator that didn’t even mean to be. Guilt, along with his insecurities flooding back into him.

Ranze bit his lip, trying so hard to not let out a smile at your words. Becoming flustered at the words you spoke to him, looking away from your gaze.

“Cmon Ranze, show me that pretty smile of yours.” He couldn’t believe the teasing you were doing to him.

“Stop… it’s embarrassing [name]. So embarrassing.” Even with what he had said, he knew he couldn’t deny your request any longer. Finally letting his smile show, only for you.

“I love you [name]” he muttered, pulling you in for a hug. Hiding his face in the crook of your neck, finding comfort in you.

“Today was so fun, tired though… so tired.” The day came to and end, with you and kurona heading over to his home to spend the night with one another.

It was once you two finally arrived at his home, that he plopped into the couch. Sighing at the softness that came from the blanket.

“Wanna watch something?” You knew what he actually meant, in the end you two would end up cuddling with Ranze holding you tight not wishing to let go.

It’s not like you mind though, the movie in the background played as you tried to focus on it. But it was so hard, with the way Ranze kept nuzzling in your neck—placing soft kisses, you couldn’t help but grow tired. Eyes soon closing shut, falling into slumber.

Looking up, He saw the peaceful face you held while sleeping. He doesn’t know how many times he’s smiled today, but since it’s you—his smile will not once come off his face.

the boys’ locker room has never been so lively: everyone is pumped up from the recent win against fc barcha.

“where’s noel noa? wasn’t he talking with isagi like, five minutes ago?” asks kurona, looking around.

“he just got out of the locker room, i honestly don’t know where he can be” answers isagi, while picking up his sports bag “however, we can look for him”.

the boys quickly get changed and go out, looking for their new coach.

after a couple of minutes, yukimiya stops the group and whispers “wait, i can hear some people talking, one of the voices is very similar to noa’s”

“they’re talking in french, i would say” says kurona, hiding from the scene.

“how’s it going with the team? are the young players promising?” asks a feminine voice.

“good, they’re making progress quickly. sometimes i can see they argue or making some strategy mistakes, but a controlled rivalry is nice to grow” answers the other.

“that’s noel noa’s voice!” confirms isagi “i used to watch his interviews in french months ago, his voice sound exactly like that”

“do you speak french?” asks raichi.

the boys just stare at the woman and the kid near her.

SUMMARY: sae had chosen his career and that was shortly followed by his and y/n's separation. three years pass by and amongst all the lurking and stalking each other's socials, sae is suddenly found back in their hometown. old feelings are resurfaced, current ones are questioned and a whole load of future ones are found in a blur.

“my god, it's so fucking cold.” you mutter under your breath as you squeeze through the throng towards your seat with kurona closely behind you.

“i told you to wear more clothes, goodness.” kurona reprimands you as he takes a seat next to you, drinks in his hands.

“a hoodie is enough. aren't you cold, too, though?” you hand him the popcorn along with other snacks stacked in the box, grabbing one of the drinks from his hand. 

“why would i be? i dressed warmly. unlike someone…” you send him a glare but all's forgotten as the announcer starts speaking, introducing the game and subsequently the teams.

you almost grip your knee in excitement as you wait for isagi to show up.

isagi shows up all in his glory: in his regular #11 jersey, a mega-watt smile on his face as he moves forward in a line, following the others.

you cup your hands around your mouth, screaming. “YOICHI!!!!!!!! YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!”

isagi turns around, almost glaring, and squeezes his eyes in second-hand embarrassment. 

“dang, a little bit of gratitude wouldn't hurt.” you say as you grab the drink, the straw pitifully sitting in the corner of your mouth as you pout. 

as if on cue, isagi briefly turns around and waves at you. one blink and you would've missed it. suddenly, all the sour mood turns all sweet and you grab kurona's arm. “did you see that! he noticed me!”

kurona grabs your hand resting on his and fakes interest. “oh my gawd, he was so totally into you!”

your smile drops. “haha, what about you pretend to be his boyfriend instead?”

“that's not what we agreed upon.”

“yes but surely you're doing better than me.”

kurona hums. “well, i've always been a better actor among all of us.”

you roll your eyes. “of course, mr sir actor footballer.”

kurona bumps his shoulder against yours. “we should pretend that we're all in the relationship. or should we make isagi two-time?”

“next up, we have the current japan u-20 team!”

you watch as the other team makes their appearance on the field. first up is oliver, of course.

he looks around the area as if he's looking for someone. the moment his eyes land on you, you whip your head towards kurona. “is he…”

“who? oh–

“yeah…”

“what's he doing?” you ask.

“making gestures, probably telling you to look at him.”

“urghhhh, that fucker.” your eyes travel back to the field and there he was, waving his hand at you, an almost mocking smile adorning his face. you're ready to raise your middle finger at him but kurona stops you. “his stans are going to kill you. do you want to risk it?”

you inhale. deeply. the drink is left on the bench as you get up, take a step forward and make a heart gesture. the only thing is that it's only your middle fingers with your thumbs connected. 

oliver looks like he's laughing but you're not sure as he quickly turns around, going to his respective place.

more and more introductions you don't seem to take note of or are interested in go on until you hear the announcer mention–.

“itoshi sae, number 10!” he walks towards his teammates, stance powerful and his expression screams anything but excited. but it's not like you can see much. head up, he scans the area and you swear, his eyes seem to momentarily settle on you before he returns back to his posture of a powerful footballer and prodigy.

the captains shake hands. and even from this high up you can smell the hostility between them. it's as if the whole field was infected with their greed. to win, to obliterate each other.

and the fans around only enhance it.

as you watch them play, specifically: continuously stealing the ball from the other, you wish you had paid more attention to the football rules. 

unfortunately for you, however, you didn't seem to be interested either way, so there was not a need. really. this whole back-and-forth game wasn't really doing it for you.

“wake me up before they finish so i can cheer.”

“y/n, what?– wait–”

your head lols to one side, eyes already closing. before it can hit anything–a person next to you or the ground, or the pole you saw earlier–there's a soft surface found instead. it smells like…

“kurona.” you jerk up, suddenly too energetic for your own good. “oh my god.”

“what's wrong?” kurona looks at you questioningly. the scarf around his neck is now found around yours and your arm is awfully too close to his–if not squashed against it.

“how long has it been?”

“hm, like 40 mins? you awoke at the right time, though. look,” he points at the board. “it's currently a draw and there's less than five minutes to the end.”

you pat his shoulder. “i'm so sorry. you didn't have to do that.”

“would you have rather slept–” his eyes move behind you, indicating. there's a big pole next to you and you can't even imagine what injuries you'd get if you'd landed on it or between the gaps, probably falling off. 

“who the fuck thought this was a good idea?”

“beats me.”

you grab his hand–it's cold. huh, all that talk for what.

“thank you.”

kurona smiles. “of course. what wouldn't i do for our little cheerleader.”

you raise your eyebrow. “little? i know damn well you ain't talking.”

kurona redirects his gaze towards the field. “you talk too much. what about you scream for isagi since he's in possession of the ball, huh?”

you chuckle. “we should do it together, you know.”

“i thought you'd never ask.”

“ISAGI, YOU BETTER SCORE.”

“GO, YOICHI, GO!”

isagi moves forward, the goalpost as his final destination in his mind. he's too preoccupied with getting there that he doesn't notice sae in his blind spot. in one swift motion, the ball is in sae's possession.

the crowd cheers even more.

fuck you and your japan's football prodigy. this isn't about him, you think.

suddenly, sae's eyes fleetingly pass over your figure; it's like he knows exactly where you are. in this big area full of people.

in the same second, the ball's stolen by rin. they fight over it.

in the last ten seconds, isagi yoichi manages to take a hold of the stray ball and uses his direct shot–right into where it's supposed to be.

the whole stadium cheers. you and kurona included.

“WHOAAAA!!!”

“ISAGI YOICHI, THE MAN YOU ARE TODAY!”

everyone's out of their breath, clutching onto themselves, their teammates or the turf.

this was rightfully blue lock's victory. but you couldn't blame others for feeling bitter and salty about it.

oliver takes a step toward isagi. he mumbles something but you see them shake hands so maybe it wasn't anything bad. not that they were on bad terms to begin with. game rivalry went far, however, so you could never be too sure about it.

from the corner of your eyes, you see sae breathe heavily, chest heaving as he rests his hands on his hips.

not that you paid any special attention to him but until the game officially ended with the announcer dispersing the crowd and the team, you noticed that he did not look once your way.

a tight knot formed in your throat.

“we should go congratulate isagi, c'mon.”

you blink. “yes! of course, let's go.”

Okok so I still haven't fleshed out the theory much yet, because my brain connected the dots and just gave up on me. It'll take me some more time to format a proper post on it, but the thread is something like this:

Ness wanted to find someone who can show him the magic he's been wanting to see all his life. Once he found that person (Kaiser), he is so invested he devotes himself entirely to Kaiser, no matter what. He believes, wholeheartedly, in Kaiser's ability to show him the magic he wanted to see in the world. (Magic here is both literal, and a metaphor for extraordinary soccer skills when viewed from Ness's lens).

Sae is not dissimilar to this. He wanted a striker who can receive his passes, who can achieve the vision he sees. But he's not the same, blind, unconditional devotion of Ness. He'll pass to anyone he sees fit to receive it. Again, this is a parallel to how Ness found someone to show him the magic he wants-- and Sae wants the best striker for his midfielding. Sae, however, does not do this blindly. He adds a spin of his own ego to it-- he won't pass to anyone who doesn't deserve it. He won't pass to anyone who he doesn't want to, the pass is His and He controls it. That's the main thing.

But Isagi? Isagi is the direct mirror to Sae and Ness. We've all seen the "Isagi should be a midfielder" posts, and while they're not unfounded, they ignore the very core of Isagi's ego. At the moment, how he's playing right now, is a contrast to how he was in the beginning of the series. He will Make people pass to him, because he makes sure that's He's the best option to pass to at any given moment. It's similar to how Sae will use anyone on field to his advantage. And Isagi has a scant few players he will depend on for most of his plays at this point in time-- Hiori and Kurona. Similar to how Ness holds an unconditional devotion to helping Kaiser.

What I mean to say is. They all hold the same thread of how they play soccer. But because they went through different experiences, and different circumstances, they're manifesting that thread of thought differently.

I asked myself: Isagi had a gradual slope into better players. First he was faced with Nagi, and then Rin, and then the U20 players + Sae before he got to the U20 European league players. So he had time to improve and hone his skill, enough that the gap was never high enough for him to fall into the "anxiety" part of the boredom/anxiety graph too deeply. Sae, on the other hand... He went from regular high school Japan tournaments.. to Madrid. To the insanity that is European leagues. Asked myself: If Sae had the time to hone his skill gradually before he went to Europe, would he still be a striker? If Isagi hadn't had that burst of enlightenment with Ego, and just the right amount of challenge for him to keep wanting to be a striker, would he maybe have given up on football/being a forward?

Ness is a little different from these two, primarily because of his background and upbringing. We don't know much about Sae's upbringing, but there are floating theories about the Itoshi parents being distant or what not. But for the sake of this theory, I won't speculate into that too much. Isagi, of course, comes from a comfortable and loving family. So he was much more secure in his own skin and role on field. Whereas Ness needed someone to show him validation for the magic he wants to see on field. I don't really have much in my mind about this particular comparison rn, but it's THERE. I might detail on it more if this theory goes anywhere.

That's all I've got atm. But I'd love to hear more people's thoughts on this. If this seems legit enough, I'll post it properly into tags. But I'm a little insecure atm after a rough experience hahaha

Movie Night

Itori-sensei's drama assignment is the talk of the whole dorm - and probably everyone else's dorm - this evening. After all, how often does a teacher want their students to watch horror movies? Touka can't say she's ever heard that before. It's only a waft of a familiar scent that makes her pay attention to the soft pad of socks across carpet.

"Touka-chan! What a weird group project, but maybe it'll be fun," Yoriko blurts out.

There's an off note in her voice, a false cheerfulness.

"Yoriko-chan," Touka replies, reflecting back Yoriko's fake cheer, a warning that she'll call Yoriko's bluff, "last time I checked, you get creeped out by horror movies."

"Oh the betrayal!~ Touka-chan, how could you~" Yoriko says, hand over her heart in mock offense.

Touka can't help but smile. Yoriko continues.

"But seriously, I think I'll be fine even with a gruesome movie like The Cannibal Mountain Village. Kurona and Kimi are hard to rattle, and Hinami's sweet. Just having them there will make me feel better."

Despite how earnestly Yoriko says it, Touka can't help but laugh. Or maybe it's because of how earnestly Yoriko says it. She doesn't know.

"I'm sorry for laughing about this but--" Touka pauses to collect herself, "you're in Hinami's study group for a horror movie. That's worse than you watching a horror movie."

Yoriko looks kind of lost. It's enough to make Touka feel kind of bad about all this. I'd better sit her down and explain... and there's no way to soften this. Touka flops down on the common room's lumpy couch, and pats the space next to her. Yoriko sits, looking unsure.

"So, y'know you turn white like a piece of paper when I eat in front of you? Gory, blood-everywhere movies make Hinami hungry. So she'll be snacking the whole way through."

Yoriko looks tense and sweaty, eyes wide and anxious. Touka feels her shoulders slump.

"Look, I'm not saying this to scare you, I'm saying this so you know what you're walking into."

"Touka-chan, um, I..." Yoriko trails off, in a thready, uncertain voice.

Sitting so close, in the empty common room, quiet disturbed only by muffled screams and horror-cue strings from the rooms above, Touka can hear Yoriko's racing pulse. Her nervous inhale. Touka can see Yoriko moisten her lips, see the sheen of sweat, catch the tang of stress wafting off her.

"What if I don't want to be grossed out by ghouls eating anymore?"

Hearing those words settles like a rock in her stomach. She's never wanted to deliberately put Yoriko through something that freaks her out, or make Yoriko feels like she has to put herself through something that will freak her out. That said, there's only one way she can think of to get Yoriko over this.

Touka takes her own steadying breath.

"Well, if that's what you want, come have dinner with me."

A/N: Of course Itori would assign a horror movie about cannibals. Even in an AU, it's Itori, she likes to shit-disturb. Yes it's deliberately ambiguous if any of the tension in this scene is shippy. Also, for the fictitious movie I made up, think Japanese isolated mountain village version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and you've got the right ballpark at least.

Your hearts beating fast as you hear him laugh, you feel like from the joy you feel you're on your one way ticket to the heavens. Just seeing him look at you with so much love has you being putty in his hands. He grabs you by your hand and you truely think "this is love" as you slowly dance with him in the empty clearance outside the city you and him found a few months back that soon became your hang out spot, all of this with your favorite song playing softly in the background was just the perfect moment. You two are giggling like children and you face the part of the clearance that faced the city and yelled out how much you loved him, he laughs and does the same for his love for you.

You two soon ran out of energy running and screaming around so you two settled for lying beside eachother gazing at the sky, or rather at eachother. None of the two had their attention on the starry sky infront of them but instead focused on eachother, hands intertwined still, you get up as the music still plays in the background.

"May i have this dance?" You bow and hold out your hand inviting Kurona to dance "why ofcourse" as he puts his hand in your's and you pull him closer to put your other hand on his shoulder while his goes to your waist. You two look at eachother with so much love, you dont even realize it, realize that he really is all that you need.

He stares at your lips from across the room thats a pretty shade of red, it reminds him of a rose. Kurona wishes he could stop time to just stare at how beautiful you are. You two have been exchanging glances the whole period and both have been admiring the other from their seat. The teacher finally dismisses and you two are out of the classroom as fast as you can yet again laughing as you grab his face and kiss him on the lips, he feels like he's in a dream, he never wants to wake up however, just having you look so pretty infront of him is all he ever needs.

You're in the same spot with the same person years later, the empty clearance outside the city with kurona. Now though, both of you are older, no longer the same teens you were back then but one thing never changed, that was your love for eachother. "Love, do you still remember?" Kurona starts and you tilt your head in confusion and he goes infront of you and holds both of your hands "when we startazed here as teens, instead of the stars, i was looking at you and you looked so beautiful" you blushed at his words "and when you asked me to dance? Do you remember that too? I felt so happy to be dancing with you, it felt so freeing to be with you. You are my rest from everything stressing. Kurona lets go of your hands and backs away "Everytime I'll close my eyes, and until our last dance, I know your the one I'll love for the rest of my life" he gets on one knee and opens a small black box displaying the most beautiful ring you've ever seen, you star tearing up as he says "Will you marry me?" You dont think twice to jump into his arms as you both fall to the ground, crying tears of joy as you repeat over and over the words yes.

"Hmmm?" Sendou squinted his eyes as he observed the Blue Lock team.... well, the starters more than anybody else. They were all somewhat interesting, but also boring to some regards, yet he couldn't stop looking at them. Or, better yet, a certain person in the team. The (h/c) haired striker of the team certainly stood out, as he looked way more... softer(?) than the rest of his team. Even his movements weren't like those from the other guys.

"Hey, Sendou. Stop staring into space and listen to what Aiku is saying." Hayate said lazily as Teru and Teppei nodded their heads.

"Yeah, we need to win this game."

"Sae is already being annoying with how 'lukewarm' we are." Cho rolled his eyes as Niou sent the older Itoshi and Shidou death glares.

"Sorry... it's just... that Blue Lock striker over there is very odd." Sendou said as he discreetly pointed at (Y/n), who was busy talking with Hiori and Kurona about something.

"Odd? He is just standing." Niou pointed out.

"Also, you being distracted resulted in him scoring the 2nd goal." Itsuki added in.

Sendou blushed in embarrassment and glared at his teammates.

"Shut it! And he is odd. Even the way he is standing is odd. It's as if I am seeing one of those idol girls."

"You have completely lost it." Teppei said calmly.

"Maybe we should limit your TV and internet access." Teru suggested.

"What are you all talking about now?" Oliver raised an eyebrow as he and Miroku approached them.

"Sendou think that (L/n) guy is a girl." Hayate simply stated.

"Deserved." Miroku and Niou added in.

As the 3 bickered, Sendou turned to look at the striker again. Sadly, this time, he wasn't as secretive, and Hiori noticed his staring, drawing (Y/n)'s attention to it. The two made brief eye contact, and Sendou swore he could feel his heart doing a flip or two as he stared into the player's eyes.

'Just what is it about you?'

Sendou thought that his encounter with the striker would end when the match ended, but no! They actually met up again at that karaoke bar, and again, Sendou had this weird feeling about the striker.

'He is just too perfect with girls... as if he knows first hand what they want to hear.' Sendou thought as he watched the boy's interaction with the two older girls. Meanwhile, Hayate, Teru, and Miroku were making fun of a pouting Oliver. Sendou watched as the striker's friends pulled him away from the girls.

"Stop being weird, Sendou." Cho warned the redhead.

"What?"

"You are staring at the dude like he killed someone." Teppei noted.

"Please, whatever sort of weird feelings you have for him, sort it out. It's getting stressful to watch." Niou added in as Sendou flushed a deep red as he tried to deny that statement. Itsuki snickered a little.

"You do have a weird fixation." Miroku said, walking over to the group.

"Bachira, please don't make a scene!" (Y/n) yelled as he pulled him away from an argument with Oliver.

"He does remind me of a idol tho... I have to give it to Sendou for noticing it first." Hayate added in.

"Please don't tell me you have been staring too." Niou groaned.

"In my defense, he is cute." Sendou grumbled at the statement Hayate made, and got even more agitated as Miroku and Teru agreed.

"So, a bowling match it is!" Oliver exclaimed, getting the attention of the rest of the team.

"What?" Niou wondered.

"We agreed to a bowling match with you guys." (Y/n) spoke up as she tried to get Bachira off of her arm.

"Losers buy the winners food." The (h/c) haired striker finished.

"Well, in our case Reo is buying the food." Chigiri and Isagi snickered.

"Aiyah... I guess. Bachira, can you let go of my arm now?"

"No." The bicolored boy said, which caused Chigiri and Isagi to grab onto Bachira to pull him off of (Y/n).

"There goes my hoodie." She sighed as the U-20 team watched in amusement... well, except for Oliver.

For whatever reason, I've been thinking about the roommates system in the BLLK facility for NEL. Surely it's a four person room too, if BM has Isagi, Kurona, Hiori and Yukimiya, I was thinking the roommates in PXG would have been Karasu, Shidou, Zantetsu and (maybe) Tokimitsu. idk why I can just so see it happening. Rin and Nanase can be together with whoever else.

But yea, Karasu is definitely stirring all these angst. Dude there's so much potentials and possibilities about him. I sooooo love him for that. He's such a green flag, idk why when I first got into him ppl are calling him a red. He's not.

Kurona ramble cause i desperately love him and he’s so cool🤞🤞

I feel like we probably might not get a kurona backstory but either way he doesn’t feel like the type to have a super crazy/life changing backstory. He seems like an only child for sure…and I feel like his parents are chill but also rather doting on him and he’ll just be standing still while his mother or father are smothering him. (But obviously he loves their affection)

Since kurona usually goes with the flow of things, I feel like his parents took him out a lot probably because he didn’t have any siblings and wanted to bond with him.

About his teeth, I think it’s 50/50 about what people say, like in school I feel like his classmates would actually find them cool and interesting. Though I feel like he’s heard random people when he’s out and about making comments about them. So why he doesn’t talk much to hide his teeth around the other players.

(Also he’s heard the words and terms these players be using, so I think he might fear his opponents using his teeth as a way to make him falter.)

I can imagine him not being super confident in school and that might be another reason why he repeats words to keep up on himself, and also rethink what he’s said. But I feel like he’s just effortlessly smart and whenever asked a question he sounds uncertain but always gets it right.

The friend that ALWAYS makes the plans and double checks, and if someone says they can’t go last minute, he always offers a ride or something so they can go.

So nonchalant about most things yet in the most caring way? Like his face can be expressionless but you can hear the sincerity in his voice
