So uh. Eventually I'll stop drawing these guys so obsessively but not today I guess.

(DND AU where it's just these two, Brent, and Paul on a life mission to annoy Chris the GM by having the pact of "we're only here for Karen's benefit")

Karen is a warlock, Right is a cleric, Paul is a paladin, and Brent is a bard (so he can use bardic inspiration on Karen).

#my characters #fun fact i was watching a trio of streamers do tier lists and i saw them do a tier list about their streamer friends #and they all voted on how the person would die in dnd and the funniest thing to come out of it imo #was the difference of SELF SACRIFICE and under it FORCIBLY SACRIFICED #like who would take one for the team willingly and who would be disposed of with majority vote #then they added an executed for their crimes spot under that so while they were debating some guy they settled on #he was the one that initiated most of the forcibly sacrificed ideas and that means he was eventually executed for his crimes #which ... was really funny to distinguish #the point is thats karen in this non existent campaign #she is here to mess people up and then use her allies as scape goats and they all just go well that sucks peace out im on the chopping bloc #and chris is getting more and more distressed over the fact YOU GUYS CAN LITERALLY TALK YOUR WAY OUT OF IT #but they really dont talk their way out of it like he wants #they instead are like ok cool so im gonna pretend like i didnt see karen kill that guy #and shes like i mean it was an accident i didnt MEAN to kill THAT guy #which is why they all vote to not see it and not bring it up RIP that guy #i saved this canvas as A WARLOCK AND HER CLERIC #which is honestly fitting #anyway i wanna draw fanart again at some point but my joy is stored in the ocs rn #i dont play dnd i just listen to one person talk to me about dnd and thats enough #oops i fell in love

THE ORDER OF PALMS An order of holy folk that serve The Helm, working to create powerful Aasimar Paladins for the purpose of protecting any who hire their help. [BACKSTORY UNDER CUT]

One day, Gjör and her peers were lead by their mentor Opheria, to a mission far from their home. On the peak of that mountain village, they saw upon the horizon, the castle of their home go up in flames. Horrified and scared, the apprentices sought to follow their mentors guidance, and followed her lead into a small barn. It was there, that Opheria proceeded to slaughter each and everyone of the apprentices. It seemed she somehow had a hand in this sudden attack on the Order of Palms. Gjör D'annevual survived a sword through the 'heart', on account of a rare condition, that places her heart on the other side of her chest. When she finally managed to bring herself back home, the Order was insulted by her survival. She had so many better peers, why couldn't any of them have survived? This runt was seriously the only thing that survived Opherias wrath? It was better to just wash their hands clean of this. Thus the Order decided to banish Gjör from their ranks. She now travels the land in search of a purpose.

I LIKE HER ALOT TOO. big and strong and well meaning but a lil dumb. justa lil dense n stupid. but she tries!!#I LIKE CHARACTERS THAT HAVE JUST SMALL THINGS DIFERENT ABT THEM. i knew some1 who had that condition. where everythings just flipped #aint that fucked up? that ur organs can just be flipped? and inever see it in fiction. its so neat. imagine finding out like THIS too #she had blacked out from the sword through the heart. the last thing she heard from her mentor was;#'you were a great student. that is why you above all else must die. i hope you understand' spoken through a gentle voice and a gentle smile #the very same that had guided Gjör so far through her journey.A BETRAYAL LIKE NO OTHER! she awoke utop a pile of comrades #each bloodied and dead and cold. she used her own magic to heal herself. to catch herself from the precipice of bleeding out #when she stepped out of the barn she had found that the village was burned to the ground #she was shellshocked!! it took her weeks to limp all the way back down that mountain. all the way back to the place she called home #only to be spit on and kicked back out. being a Paladin of the Palms was her entire life. what was she to do now?#OH SO THE ART. I RLY LIKE HER DESIGN.heavily based off of THE BABY SITTER from HALO LEGENDS. i fuckin love halo so much guys.....#i just love that trope of Big Strong Person in Armor that we all thought wasa fullgrown MAN takes off the helmet to revel shesa PRETTY GIRL #my favorite in the WORLD!! i also like the silly frilly pretty dress sorta motif in gjors armor. it hides all the stuff i dont wanna draw #thats all the ramble i got in me for now. Yay for full design ref for Dóvenyth! Added some info about her, too. Idk how much I wanna reveal yet...

Artist's ramblings under the cut.

I did want to do a more detailed ref, but I kept getting caught up on making everything look perfect and rendered, then my joints started hurting real bad, so I did what I could.

The more detailed character sheet shows her when she's fighting, which I love cuz she has an almost counter-intuitive hierarchy of which style she uses, but it makes perfect sense for her.

I also am not sure how to approach explaining her backstory. I mean! Not like there's so many people expecting anything. But I do think it fun to not really explain a lot yet. Idk if anyone else will follow, or would care about Dóvenyth. We'll see!
