(DND AU where it's just these two, Brent, and Paul on a life mission to annoy Chris the GM by having the pact of "we're only here for Karen's benefit")

Karen is a warlock, Right is a cleric, Paul is a paladin, and Brent is a bard (so he can use bardic inspiration on Karen).

One day, Gjör and her peers were lead by their mentor Opheria, to a mission far from their home. On the peak of that mountain village, they saw upon the horizon, the castle of their home go up in flames. Horrified and scared, the apprentices sought to follow their mentors guidance, and followed her lead into a small barn. It was there, that Opheria proceeded to slaughter each and everyone of the apprentices. It seemed she somehow had a hand in this sudden attack on the Order of Palms. Gjör D'annevual survived a sword through the 'heart', on account of a rare condition, that places her heart on the other side of her chest. When she finally managed to bring herself back home, the Order was insulted by her survival. She had so many better peers, why couldn't any of them have survived? This runt was seriously the only thing that survived Opherias wrath? It was better to just wash their hands clean of this. Thus the Order decided to banish Gjör from their ranks. She now travels the land in search of a purpose.

Day 28: Monster

I'm spoiled for choice on this front, but the Simulacrai are my most reoccurring monster easily. I have loads of them! So here's a handful of the most relevant guys.

Haven't drawn anything in god knows how long BUT I sat down and sketched Jim(othy) yesterday :) He's just some guy. He's a dude. He's (theoretically) a ttrpg rogue with no tragic backstory. He doesn't trust cops. He's bisexual. Conceptually he started off as Jim from IT. He wants to travel but he's not exactly rich so he's subsidizing it with quests. He's just happy to be included in the party. He's not all right in the head. He'd be energy drinks #1 fan. He doesn't have a consistent sleep schedule. He's a mechanic. He's 30 having an existential crisis. He wears cunty little boots and bell bottoms (the pants were essential to the vision.) He wears a turtleneck under his armor and a slutty half open top any other time. He's a country boy. He is. The least interesting man in the world

Okay so it's REALLY obvious I haven't drawn anything lately alsnoansosn his proportions are fucked. It's fine. It's not perfect but I made it so it's fine. I'm finally free from the Vision. I needed a placeholder visual so he'd stop Haunting Me all the damn time. I've been thinking about him lounging around in his damn adventuring outfit for like three weeks nearly nonstop

Sometimes your player theorises too good and has an idea about an NPC that fills a hole in their backstory and everything makes sense. Yes, you're right, the innkeeper Was an incarnation of that dead god trying to save it's dying friend and that's how fate brought all of you to their island at the same time. That makes too much sense to tell you you're Wrong.

Artist's ramblings under the cut.

I did want to do a more detailed ref, but I kept getting caught up on making everything look perfect and rendered, then my joints started hurting real bad, so I did what I could.

The more detailed character sheet shows her when she's fighting, which I love cuz she has an almost counter-intuitive hierarchy of which style she uses, but it makes perfect sense for her.

I also am not sure how to approach explaining her backstory. I mean! Not like there's so many people expecting anything. But I do think it fun to not really explain a lot yet. Idk if anyone else will follow, or would care about Dóvenyth. We'll see!
