Seeing her on the floor, George made no attempt to close the distance between them, even as she scrambled away from him, he just watched her patiently. No, she was most certainly not a cultist but he had also seen that just moments ago with Little Tony. Unaware of course that in her own mind she had temporarily been elsewhere. Still he stayed calm and as soothing as he could.
"Little Tony will be absolutely fine." He offered her a small reassuring smile, genuine and so very patient and understanding. "There are those here who can easily help him and his vision will be restored." He told her clearly and in such a tone that showed he was not only listening to her worries but actively trying to resolve them for her, even if it was only verbally. "I guess he didn't believe you when you said you would show him the ritual. You did very well," he praised her, "he's going to be alright, I'll make sure of it but I'm afraid your cover is now blown."
He watched as she stood up, mindful in his movement, keeping his hands politely and respectfully clasped in front of him. She seemed stable enough on her own feet, he didn't need to intervene and he could see it would be unwelcomed. "Yes I will get you out of here," he confirmed and waited for her to ask the obvious question she would worry about.
"I am not interested in personal beef with an agent and his family. I do not want that sort of attention here. The Tony's who picked you up acted rashly and foolishly on behalf of a vengeful idiot." George told her truthfully, still in a respectful tone and carefully phrased. "Besides, cultist or not, you are in possession of a rare amulet which I imagine is bound to you?" He checked, "I suspect you are telling at least half a truth and it is not in our interests as a whole to try and make an example of you just to needlessly bite back at your father."
He watched her politely, waiting to gauge her reaction oh so very patiently. "I do not expect you to trust me, but I am going to have to ask you to take a chance and let me help you. Will you do that?"

In the short minute that Violet spent alone in that room, tears already welled up in her eyes. She didn't move from where she had landed on the floor, too busy sobbing. In fact, she didn't really react at first, when the door opened and a man walked inside. Her nails were digging into the carpet, clinging onto it. Otherwise, she was going to fall from the ledge. Should she warn this man? He was standing on the ledge, too. He was going to fall if she didn't warn him.
It took her a moment to realize she was in a room with solid ground, and not dangling from the broken window on the 14th floor of Evil Theo's apartment. Not that she was safe here, either. She scrambled backward, seemingly unable to recover the persona she had so carefully crafted earlier. Now she really just looked like a scared kid.
"How is Little Tony?" she asked, finally looking up to see the man who had walked in -he sounded so different from the other mobsters in the club. He looked different too. No pinstripe suit for him, only a black tuxedo. "Why- why didn't he look away? Is he blind? Can you... surely someone can use a ritual to repair his eyes?"
Wait. What had he just said? "You're going to get me out?" she repeated, slowly standing up. She didn't sit down. He could tell her he was safe all day, she wasn't going to believe him. "Why? Who are you?" If he was here, then he was a cultist too. She couldn't trust him. But if he was her only way out of the Apocalypse Club, did she really have a choice?

September 2024
“Valerie, can you bring more tall glasses we’re about to run out!”
“Uh ok,” I yell over the crowd, wiping the sweat and the hairs sticking to my forehead with the back of my hand as I hurry to the back. Dread takes over me when the rack is empty, not a single glass in sight. We never should’ve hired that freshman Johnny to clean tables. I groan running back to the front, the bar lining up with rows of customers for what felt like hours now. It felt like all of Storrs had made their way to Ted’s tonight.
I was warned about the last weekend before classes start, that all the students pack into Ted’s and get shitfaced. Somehow it was still just me, Natalie and Thomas working - and this new guy called Johnny who I had a feeling was about to be fired. How were we out of glasses?
“No glasses, use pints!” I shout, the chatter of the students overwhelmingly loud.
“What?” Natalie yells and I just point to the pints towering next to her, knowing it was no use to talk in all this noise.
Natalie looks at me, her wide eyes showing slight panic, her hands mixing drinks expertly. She evidently had some years on me when it came to bartending. “Where the fuck is Johnny?”
“Not doing his job I guess,” I groan, carrying a rack of pints over to the bar. “I’ll go clean tables then, get us some more glasses.”
The red haired girl waves me off as I rush into the crowd, squeezing through and grabbing every empty glass in sight, adding them one by one to the tower I was balancing against my side, bringing them to the back to be washed. Once I return into the crowd of swarming students, I’m crushed between two groups of guys, elbowing their sides to make my way through. I could feel the sweat dripping down my back, the air felt heavy and humid, early September still as hot as July had been.
“Ah fuck!”
Suddenly I feel a splash of something seep into my tank top, the white thin fabric turning red and seethrough.
“What the fuck!” I yell looking down, the shirt sticking to my skin as more people pushed into my back, nearly making me stumble.
“Shit bro I’m so sorry,” A hoarse voice mumbles and I lift my eyes upwards to the tall blonde girl standing in front of me, a sheepish smile on her face as she scratches the back of her neck. “Someone pushed me.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I snap, too overwhelmed and overworked to deal with this right now. Someone behind me trips, forcing me to stumble forward, the girl catching me and steadying me. “Whoa there,” she says.
“You good?” The blonde asks and I roll my eyes, what a stupid question to ask.
“You just spilled a drink on me, what do you think?”
“I’m so sorry, deadass. Lemme buy you a drink please.”
“I work here, I’m working.”
“Oh, shit.”
I look down at my top, completely ruined and unwearable - if not for the red stain then for the fact that the fabric had turned completely transparent, my lavender bra completely visible.
The blonde girl in front of me blushes, eyeing the way my nipples poked through the drenched top now. Noticing me watching her, she quickly looks up to the low ceiling of the bar, pretending she wasn’t ogling over my chest.
“You can totally see through it right?” I ask frustrated and the blonde only nods, clearly trying not to grin which only annoys me more.
“I’m so sorry, hold up.”
She seems apologetic as she covers my front from the view of other people, big hands confidently guiding me into the much quieter hallway where only a few people were lining up for the bathrooms. It’s only then I look up and really study the face of the tall girl in front of me, quickly realising who it was that spilled her Shirley all over my white top.
Paige Bueckers is only hotter in person, her jaw that much more refined, long neck and broad shoulders and the way she towered over you making her seem bigger than she was. Her blue eyes are flickering everywhere but my chest as she drags me into the desolate end of the hallway. I’m sure I would’ve felt starstruck if the situation had been different, but the stress from work and the fabric smelling like grenadine and sticking to my body was only irritating me further, the blonde in front of me to blame.
Suddenly Paige starts pulling the back of her white hoodie to undress, the white t-shirt underneath rising enough to reveal the tan skin on her abdomen, her shorts low waisted enough to show the tiniest bit of a tan line.
“What are you doing?” I ask confused as Paige pulls the hoodie over her head, fixing the shirt underneath it, silver chains dangling from her neck.
She hands the white hoodie at me, her blue eyes studying me. “What’s it look like, take it.”
I glance at the hoodie scrunched in her hands, being offered to me. The back of the hoodie is decorated with a large number 5, Paige’s last name written in big bold letters above it.
Publicly Paige might have been loved, considered kind and grounded, but on campus people knew more. Sure, the girl was adored. But it hadn’t taken longer than staying at Storrs for a few days for the rumours to reach me, about her endless roster of girls who she never let sleep over, who she seduced into bed and then never called or texted. It had become a joke amongst the students that everyone knew - when you saw a girl wearing a shirt with Paige’s name on it, she was either fucked by her or wanted others to think so.
I shake my head at the hoodie, not wanting to be marked as one of them. I didn’t wanna be part of some sick fantasy Paige had about claiming girls.
“Nah I ain’t wearing that,” I chuckle bitterly, pushing the hoodie back, a jolt going through my body when my fingertips brush hers.
Confused, Paige’s brows furrow as she grabs the hoodie back. “Please, I really don’t mind. I feel really bad, just take it. You don’t even have to give it back.”
I scoff, crossing my arms over my chest. “I’m not playing into some weird little fantasy and wearing a hoodie with your name and number on it.” Paige is quickly taken aback, brows only furrowing further.
“You.. I… Huh?!” She asks bewildered.
“Please, everyone knows what those hoodies and shirts mean.”
“I got no clue what you’re talking about,” Paige chuckles, finding amusement in my defiance. “But I know you ain’t gonna work in that top for the rest of the night.”
She’s right. Why do I hate that she’s right? Thankfully the solution is right under my nose.
“I’ll take the t-shirt,” I say, my tone assertive. With a snort Paige’s brows rise as high as they can - I can’t tell whether she’s amused or shocked at my audacity. Perhaps a little bit of both.
With a chuckle she holds the hoodie over her forearm, piercing blue eyes landing on me. “Yo I don’t remember offering it.” There’s a spark in her eye, something that makes me bolder and certain that she’s enjoying this. So I play along.
“You don’t have to, I know you’ll give it to me.”
We stare at each other, both of us waiting for each other to fold. Finally Paige opens the bathroom door next to her, nodding her head for me to get in. She follows behind me, closing the door and locking us into the tight space. My back presses against the wall as she turns to me - I'll never forget the look she had on her face, the way her eyelids grow heavy and head tilts the tiniest bit upwards, making her neck that much longer. It’s in that moment, in the bright, fluorescent lights of the bathroom that I realise how blue her eyes are, how intense her gaze was.
An involuntary blush grows on my cheeks, for a moment forgetting why we were here in the first place. Paige had seemed to forget as well, her tongue darting over her lips to wet them, the tight and enclosed space forcing us both to notice a tension. I clear my throat, my eyes snapping to the ground.
“Sooo the shirt?”
“Oh right,” Paige murmurs, finally breaking the intense stare.
I watch the way her hand grabs the back of her shirt, pulling it over her head. I feel something stir in my stomach when I notice the rings decorating her long fingers, the muscles in her shoulders flexing as her arms lifted. She’s wearing a grey sports bra underneath, and I’m surprised by how broad she looks shirtless like this, how refined but somehow soft her stomach looked.
When I realise that I’m staring it’s already too late, Paige is grinning down at me and momentarily it makes my legs feel weak. Okay, I see what the fuss is about now.
“You good?” Paige smirks handing me her shirt and my eyes quickly flicker to the ceiling, back turning to her as I start pulling the damp top over my head. I can feel the blue eyes drilling into my skin, making me feel hot all over. Quickly I put on the white tee over my head, a whiff of deodorant and cologne making my head spin as I fix the much too large shirt. I tuck part of it into my bra, turning around and seeing the blonde pulling her hoodie back on, feeling a pang of disappointment when she hides the broad shoulders and the abs I had taken a liking to.
“Oh I’m Paige by the way,” she murmurs, pulling her head through the hoodie, hands sleeking her long hair back.
I snort, raising my brows. “Very humble of you to assume I don’t know who you are.”
Sheepishly the blonde scratches the back of her head, shrugging. “Nah, I knew,” she smiles. “I just wanted to find out your name ma.”
The nickname brings an immediate heat to my core but I do my best to keep my cool. I doubt the blonde needed any ego boosts from me.
Trying to remain chill, I casually chuckle. “I’m Valerie.”
“Valerie,” Paige repeats. I never loved my name but hearing her say it was making me seriously reconsider. “I’ve seen you around campus, you know.”
“Oh?”
-
Valerie. The name feels smooth slipping from my lips, I wanted to say it again and again. It hadn’t been my intention to spill my Shirley all over her, but I’d be lying if I wasn’t happy about the situation it had got me in.
I must admit I had seen the brunette before, in fact I remember the very first time I saw her. It was her voice that drew me in, impossible to miss as I was walking back to the dorms with KK, Ice and Azzi.
“HOW did you not know you need to add water to boil pasta?? What did you think boiling is?!”
There was something about the lilt in her voice, the way it echoed around campus, and the pure astonishment in her voice that got me to laugh before I had ever even met, yet alone seen her. I couldn’t help but turn my head, only to find that the owner of that beautiful voice was fittingly the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
It was her hair that caught my eye first, it wasn’t just brown but the tones of gold made it sparkle in the late August sun, her golden jewellery only adding to the twinkle. Her eyes were big, getting even wider the more shocked her voice got on the phone. The gloss on her lips and the way her shirt showed just a little bit of cleavage caused very inappropriate thoughts one should not be having about a person they didn’t know at all.
Her legs were shorter yet somehow she took such hurried steps she passed me and the girls without a single look in my direction despite my obvious ogling. It was that moment I knew I had to have her.
So it must have been God’s plan all along for me to spill that Shirley all over her shirt. Because now I had her in a bathroom, pulling her shirt off, unable to look away from her lacy lavender bralette, trying to get the way her nipples peeked through her soaked top out of my head. To my pleasant surprise, I catch her dark eyes leering at me before I pull the hoodie back on.
“You could’ve just come talk to me, there was no need to spill that drink on me,” Valerie chuckles, the annoyance in her tone making a heat pool between my legs. I should probably bring that up with a therapist.
Lifting my hands up in defiance I scoff. “Ma I swear it was an accident.”
“Sure.”
As she looks up at me I suddenly felt a desperate need for her approval, for her praise. Usually girls were quick to fold once I turned the rizz on. Valerie didn’t seem even a little bit affected - somehow it irked me and turned me on more simultaneously. For a moment I consider just pulling out the old trusty rizz hands but before I can process Valerie’s hand is on the door handle, stepping past me into the hallway, a whiff of coconut making my heart beat faster. I was usually smoother than this.
“Well thanks for the shirt Paige Bueckers,” Valerie smiles and walks out before I can say a word, leaving me speechless in the bathroom.
-
“Did you see the way he looked at me tho? Geno’s gon’ bench me for the whole season forreal.”
KK’s voice is faint in my ears as we sit at our usual table, leaning back on my chair to get a better view of her. Valerie’s pouring drinks to a couple guys, her nose scrunching a little as she giggles. Even in the dingy bar everything about her lit the place up.
I had come here three nights in a row now, sipping my Shirleys and trying to find courage to approach her with more than “A dirty Shirley thanks.” Normally approaching a girl and getting them naked into my bed was easy, nearly boring at this point - the five girls blowing up my phone on the daily proof of that. But something about Valerie was different, challenging. While it was intriguing it was also scary.
“Earth to P boogers?” KK pokes my side, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turn my head to her, raising my brows expectantly.
With a roll of her eyes, KK nods towards the bar where Valerie was alone now, humming to herself and playing with the ends of her hair. “Go talk to her.”
“Nah.”
“Bro.”
“What would I even say?”
“Rizz her up girl! Isn’t that your whole thing?”
I throw my head back and groan dramatically, throwing my arm over my eyes. She’s just a girl, if she didn’t want me the campus was full of other girls dying to fuck me. Why was I tripping over a girl like this - mind you, a girl I barely knew.
In truth I hadn’t stopped replaying every moment of that night I spilled my drink on her over and over. Thinking about the way Valerie’s top clung to her skin, the way her tits looked in that bra had made me drag my hand down my stomach, between my legs. But it was the memory of the way she stared me down that had brought me over the edge.
“Bro, you can’t come back tomorrow without talking to her, that shit is called stalking.”
KK was right. A fourth night in a row of just ogling over her would be nothing short of creepy. Finishing my drink, I finally get up and walk to the bar, butterflies growing with each step I take. Shit, shit, shit, shit.
“Hey,” Valerie says, her eyes twinkling as she looks at me and I immediately wanna go back to the table and just forget about all of this. How was I supposed to form comprehensible sentences when she looked at me like that? When her hair was pulled up messily in a clip, loose curls framing her face, white t-shirt hugging her curves.
Before I have the chance to respond the brunette is already opening her mouth, a tiny grin on her face. “This is your third night in a row here.”
She’s noticed - no, she’s kept count. My confidence soars quickly as I look at the ground, my mouth twisting into a smile. “Oh you been counting huh?”
“Nah was just wondering if the student athlete was turning into an alcoholic,” Valerie rolls her eyes, leaning forward on her elbows against the bar, her breasts perking menacingly between her arms. I only let myself look for a second before using all my constraint to move my gaze elsewhere.
“Oh you worry about me?” My tongue slides over my lower lip, watching as she rolls her eyes once more. God I could get used to that sight. Her eyes rolling back because of me in a multitude of ways.
“Unfortunately it’s part of my job description.”
“To take care of me?”
Another eyeroll. “To not serve alcoholics.”
I chuckle softly, mirroring the brunette by leaning forward against my elbows. The faint scent of coconut makes its way into my nostrils again. “Damn, that’s a shame. They gon’ miss out on those Shirleys you make.”
Even in the dim lighting of the bar I can recognise the hint of a blush that rises to Valerie’s cheeks, her eyelids fluttering as she quickly looks away from me. The moment of silence is causing a stir in my abdomen, electricity palpable just for a moment. I got her, she’d be in my bed in no time. Maybe by tonight.
“Your shirt’s still in my dorm,” she says nonchalantly, breaking the tension of the moment by pushing herself off the bar and beginning to clear the glasses on the bar. I watch amused.
“You wanna keep it?” I grin, letting my eyes land on the curve of her ass as she bends over to pick up a beer cap off the floor. Goddamn, I better have that in my bed tonight. Rubbing my jaw I swiftly bring my eyes to look at the walls of the bar as the girl turns around, even more curls falling out of her clip now.
Valerie scoffs loudly like it’s the most ridiculous thing she’s ever heard. “No.”
I kiss my teeth and raise my brows. “I could also come pick it up,” I grin, my blue eyes staring into the girl. “You know, after your shift ma?”
The look on Valerie’s face is priceless, a mixture of surprise and something I can’t quite recognise. Yeah I got her, she’d be between my legs in no time - those big brown eyes staring back at me as I pull on her hair, her perfect ass in the air.
To my bemusement, instead of blushing or getting flustered Valerie’s hand flies to her mouth as she bursts into a bright laugh, her eyes squeezing shut as she does. The grin on my face quickly wipes off as I shift on my feet, my arms crossing over my chest. Seems like I might have to wait a little longer than I’d like to for this one.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Valerie shakes her head. “If it’s one thing you got Bueckers, it's audacity.”
Her indifference to my flirting irks me. At this point I usually gave up, looked for another girl - not that I had to nearly ever. I don’t think I’d worked this hard for a girl since coming to Uconn. But there was something about the brunette in front of me, something I couldn’t quite place, that made it impossible just to give up. Maybe it was time to move on to a more challenging territory. The pussy would be worth it, I knew it.
“You want a drink?” Valerie asks, finally recovered from her laughing fit. Without even thinking I shrug.
“Shirley.”
“Which way?”
A small smirk tugs at the corner of my mouth as I wiggle my brows. “Dirty.”
With another eyeroll the brunette gets to work. Part of me wanted to keep saying stupid things just so she’d roll her eyes at me one more time.
I watch her work for a moment, noticing the golden bracelet with a small charm dangling on it decorating her wrist as I thought of any other way to get her naked as soon as possible.
“You ever been to a game?” I ask, convincing myself that seeing me on the court would have the effect it usually had on girls.
“No, this is my first year here so,” she mumbles absentmindedly, mixing the bright red drink for me.
“You should come watch me sometime.”
A smile. Valerie’s mouth turns into a smile. I’ll take that as a win. Feeling the tiniest bit proud I smile too.
“Yeah? You any good?” The brunette asks seriously, but there’s a hint of something in her voice that tells me she’s teasing me. Just that is enough to get me going. I rarely found the chase to be this fun, but with her? I was fucked.
I shrug and bring my arm up, flexing the bicep that had grown exponentially over the summer. “Best player in the country, they say,” I grin.
Her eyes land on my flexed arm, softening for a moment before she returns to stirring the drink. “Now who’s they?”
“Just come see for yourself ma.”
As she places the drink on the bar I reach for my wallet, pulling out 30 bucks and leaving it on the counter.
“Hold on Bueckers, your change,” Valerie stops me as I’m about to head back but I shake my head at her, walking backwards.
“Keep it. Come see me play sometime.”
-
“Pick up… pick up… pick up…” I mumble under my breath, phone against my ear as the steady slow beeps keep taunting me, reminding me no one had answered to any of the tens of calls I had made. Groaning, I put the phone on the table, looking through the back door of Ted’s, over the liquor shipment sitting in the bright evening sun. It wasn’t meant to come till tomorrow, when the boys could carry all of it inside. Now it was just me, my pathetically small muscles and boxes full of liquor bottles and beers.
“Fuck,” I groan when the phone finally rings. Picking it up urgently, Natalie’s voice comes through.
“Riri you called me like five times, are you good?”
“The shipment came early,” I panic into the speaker.
“What?!”
“Mhm.”
“Have you tried-”
“Tried calling literally everyone. No one’s picking up,” sighing I push my hair back from my face, trying not to panic. “What do I do?”
“I’m out of town too,” Natalie murmurs as I’m leaning against the doorframe, digging my brain for any solution. A moment of silence falls between me and Natalie when I finally got it. Saying bye to the girl on the line I walk to the front - the bar is empty in the early Wednesday evening. But like clockwork at 9 pm the tall blonde opens the door and comes in for the 6th night in a row - this time alone.
Of course she looks great, wearing basketball shorts and a team USA hoodie she had grown too big for, evidently a little too small on her arms and shoulders, her hair in a ponytail. Her mouth twists into a smile as she sees me, long legs quickly reaching the bar.
“Well he-”
“Paige, I need your help.”
-
Paige stares at the shipment through the door frame as I shift on my feet, hating how I had to ask for help, especially from her. I, like everyone else, found Paige incredibly attractive, exceptionally charming. But the ego on her irked me. The way she looked at me like she could read my mind, the things she said to make me blush and that grin like she knew that it was just a matter of time before I’d join the long list of girls she took to bed and left high and dry. I refused to be one of those girls - but it was hard to ignore the flutters in my stomach that arrived routinely at 9 pm when the blonde made her way through the door and to the bar each night.
“How’d they leave a lil thing like you to deal with this?” Paige chuckles, elbowing me gently.
I rub my hand over my face, smiling too. “It came a day too early.”
Paige nods for a moment and shrugs. “Well let’s get to work ma.”
With that she pulls the hoodie off, left in black basketball shorts and a black matching sports bra. I let myself look just for a second. Eyes roaming over her broad shoulders, the muscles in her stomach, the silver chain with a cross on it. It didn’t hurt to look now and then - as long as I didn’t ogle.
One by one Paige and I carry heavy boxes full of bottles inside Ted’s, though I’m slightly distracted by the way the blonde’s back muscles flex when she picks a box up, the way her jaw flexes when it’s a little too heavy for her. A bead of sweat trickles from her neck downwards along her spine as my gaze follows it, a heat pooling between my legs as I watch her.
Out of breath and slightly sweaty, I push my hair back trying to catch my breath. Paige takes note of this, blonde hairs sticking to her forehead as she walks over to me. This September heat was no joke.
Her blue eyes roam my face as both her hands grab a hold of my hips. A jolt of electricity runs through my body, her touch igniting a fire I hadn’t felt in a while. Our gazes meet, Paige licking her lips as her hand pushes my thick brown hair off my face. I find my heart beating so hard I swear it’s trying to make its way out of my chest. For a moment I think she’s about to kiss me.
“Why won’t you go get us something to drink?” Paige murmurs, her voice deep and gravelly in a way I had never heard before.
My cheeks slightly pink I nod towards the boxes, my voice quiet as I speak. “But what about…?”
“I got it ma,” she assures me, never breaking eye contact. It’s almost dizzying, the tension between us. Reminding myself of what I knew about Paige’s roster, I finally look away, slightly disappointed when her hands drop off my waist.
Walking to the front I find the bar still empty of customers. I grab a bottle of water, chugging it in an attempt to bring myself to my senses. Don’t be stupid Valerie, everyone knows how this could end up if I make the wrong choices here.
Filling two glasses to the brink with ice and coke, I return to the back, eyes landing on Paige and her arms that flex as she lifts up another box, making my mouth go dry. I quickly sip the coke, ignoring the way my legs had been growing weaker the more sweaty Paige got. As the last box hits the floor and all the work is done, Paige closes the door finally locking the scorching heat out and grabs the glass from my hand. We both feel the same goosebumps down our spines as our fingertips graze, forcing our eyes to meet.
“Thanks for the help,” I murmur, my voice weaker than I’d like. Paige’s chest is heaving, whether from the physical strain or the tension of the moment I don’t know. “I owe you.”
Paige shakes her head, blue piercing eyes still locked in mine. “Nah, always down to help a pretty girl out.”
I hate that I blush, but I can’t help it. I hand the blonde the glass of coke and watch the way her throat bobs as she drinks, my lips itching to kiss there. I was falling for her tricks quicker than I’d like.
“I uh, how about you don’t have to pay for your Shirleys?” I offer, voice slightly shaky,
Paige grins and places her glass on a side table, leaning against the closed backdoor. “I don’t need anything free, trust,” she grins, heavy lidded eyes looking down at me. “Besides, how will I tip you then?”
“You tip way too much,” I giggle, brushing my fingertips through my long brown locks.
Paige shrugs. “I tip just enough,” she murmurs hoarsely, licking her lips as her fingers come up to toy with the ends of my hair. I swallow hard, my panties growing damp between my thighs. The blonde breathes out heavily through her nostrils, still watching me. “Just come see a game and we’re even.”
My eyelids flutter shut when Paige’s hand carefully moves from my hair to the side of my jaw and I can’t help but nod.
“Okay,” I murmur breathlessly, head spinning with need.
Licking her lips, Paige’s eyes land on mine. “Valerie?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m gonna kiss you now.”
“O-okay.”
With all my restraint, all my plans to stay strong forgotten, I do the exact opposite of what I planned. Paige leans down and her lips crash into mine, an involuntary moan leaving my mouth. My stomach flutters as I lean into her, my hands wrapping around her neck as I get on my tiptoes to reach her better. The blonde’s hands land on my waist, pulling my body closer to her, breathing heavily through her nose.
It’s dizzying, the way she kisses me, the way her touch feels against my skin leaving a trail of fire in its wake. I feel completely overwhelmed yet dying for more, all the patience leaving my body at once. Like reading my mind, Paige’s hands fall from my waist to my ass, gripping harshly as she groans against my lips. My core is already throbbing, the sounds coming out of the girl kissing me only making it worse.
There’s a sense of urgency when Paige backs me into the side table, sitting me on it. My legs quickly wrap around her waist as her tongue slides over my bottom lip before biting on it gently. I let out a whimper that makes the blonde grin.
“Been dying to fuck you. Will you let me?” She pants against my mouth and I have no other choice but to nod, my body aching for her.
“Please,” the plea spills from my lips as Paige sloppily kisses along my jaw, all the way to my neck. She gently nibbles, eliciting a hiss from me when she reaches the spot under my ear that was most sensitive. She sucks on it harder, her hands gripping my denim covered thighs firmly.
“How wet are you?” The blonde murmurs, her breath hot in my ear sending tingles down my spin all the way to my cunt that was dripping.
“So wet Paige,” I whimper, feeling Paige’s hands travel up my thighs and squeeze again, other hand pulling off my white t-shirt, leaving me in a black lace bra and jeans. Paige pulls back and watches my chest, licking her lips.
“Goddamn look at those tits,” she mumbles, more to herself than me before her lips attack my chest, kissing all over, teeth grazing over my bra where my hard nipple is poking through.
The lack of contact between my legs felt excruciating, like some sort of torture. With a whine I roll my hips into Paige, pulling her closer with my legs. Her blue eyes look up at me from my chest menacingly, hand coming to toy with the button of my jeans.
“Tell me what you want, baby.”
Panting, I collect myself enough to speak. “Touch me, P.”
“I am touching you,” she teases, kissing along my neck again.
“You know what I mean.”
“Need to hear you say it ma.”
Frustrated, I tilt my head back, the need between my legs becoming overwhelming. Her hand was unzipping my pants now, torturing me.
“Fuck okay just touch my pussy Paige, now please,” I whine eliciting a smirk from Paige as her fingertips slip underneath my lace panties.
“You want my mouth or fingers?”
“Whatever you want just now please!”
“Oh you’re gonna regret saying that.”
With that Paige’s fingers make their way into my folds, gasping with me as she feels how wet I had grown in this past hour watching her work. With a practiced ease her fingertips press against my clit, starting to rub against it in tight circles.
“Oh fuck,” I whine, my head tilting back. Paige’s other hand quickly covers my mouth and suddenly I’m reminded that any customer coming in could hear us from the front of the bar.
“Gotta keep quiet for me, yeah?” The blonde reminds me and I nod, my eyes meeting hers. My moans are muffled by her hand as she continues the movement of her fingers.
“Fuck, gotta take these off,” she murmurs, her voice low and hoarse as she pulls my jeans down, moaning at the sight of my black, lacy panties. “Gotta see this pussy.”
Her hands pry my legs open, fingertips digging into my thighs as she slides my panties to the side, my glistening cunt proof of how bad I needed her.
Paige hisses, unable to look away as her fingers swirl in my folds, gathering wetness before returning to my clit, rubbing back and forth so fast I let out a loud gasp. The blonde’s free hand returns to my mouth, eyes warning me. “Quiet, remember?”
“Mhmm,” I mumble against her hand, my eyes fluttering shut as she speeds up even more, my pussy already throbbing, aching to be filled. Paige’s hand on my mouth pushes me backwards, my back hitting the cold wood of the table.
“Attagirl.”
-
My fingertips tease her entrance, circling around it menacingly. She looked incredible like this, even better than in all my fantasies, back arching and head thrown back, mouth covered by my big hand making her look even smaller for me. The sounds she was making were driving me insane, causing my own cunt to throb and soak all the way through my boxers.
Her hips buck, clearly not a fan of my teasing as she whines against my hand. God, I could listen to these sounds forever,
“You want my fingers?” I ask, panting just from my own need. She nods, her big brown eyes pleading, nearly making me come merely from the way she was looking at me.
“Two’s good yeah?” I ask, two of my fingers so close to dipping in. It takes all my restraint now to pound them into her when she nods. Instead I slowly push them in, my eyelids fluttering shut at how wet and warm and tight she felt around me, how I could quite literally feel her pussy throbbing around my fingers.
She gasps, her eyes rolling back at the stretch caused by me, and I can’t help myself when I lower myself onto her knee, grinding my cunt against the bones there making me groan breathily.
I start slowly pumping my fingers in and out of Valerie, unable to take my eyes away from her cunt, the way it’s swallowing me up, sucking me back in each time I try and pull away.
Hoping the brunette remembers to stay quiet, I pull my hand back from her mouth, kneading her left breast as I grind my own hips against her knee.
“More,” she whimpers, pretty eyes squeezed shut and back arching.
“Whatever you want baby,” I whisper, my own mind so drunk off her I couldn’t keep up with the composure I’d had in the beginning.
I push a third finger inside her, curling them just right to press against the spongy part inside her making her gush around my fingers. I could barely think straight, doing everything not to come all over her knee before she finished.
The sounds coming from her body are downright sinful, the wet sounds of my fingers curling inside her cunt making my legs shake. I don’t know how I’d ever get enough.
When I start pumping those three fingers in and out of her with more force, Valerie turns into a mess, her thighs trembling, body writhing on the wooden table and eyes squeezed shut, hands trying to grip onto anything they could - the table, her own breasts, even me. In a haze I offer her my free hand, letting her fingers grip my hand as I pump my fingers faster, palm hitting against her clit.
“Paige, I’m close,” she cries out, urging me on as her knee presses against my swollen clit in my boxers, forcing me to bite down on my lip hard to not moan.
“Fuck ma, so fucking sexy,” I groan, watching the way her head tilts back as her cunt tightens around my fingers.
“Yes, don’t stop, don’t stop.”
“I got you Val,” I moan, rocking my hips back and forth on her knee, my juices gushing out of me as I fight my eyes from rolling back.
“Paige, shit, I’m-”
Suddenly she’s covering her own mouth with her hand, her back arching off the table as her cunt clenches around my fingers, but I don’t ease up, I keep up with my movements. The way her face is scrunching up is enough to get my own orgasm to take over me, my movements on her knee turning sloppy and desperate as I come all over her while my fingers pump in and out of her. I’m unable to look away.
A guttural groan leaves my body as Valerie’s muffled moans fill the room, waves of pleasure taking over us simultaneously. There’s something addicting about it, the way we’re both riding out our orgasms at the same time.
“Goddamn,” I sigh, eyes watering as my movements slow down, enjoying the way she’s throbbing around my fingers. Valerie’s eyes flutter open and I swear she’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. We’re both panting, the moment over far too quickly to my liking. I could never be done that fast with a girl like this.
Pulling my fingers out, I kneel between the brunette’s legs, pulling the panties off her completely. Face to face with her glistening cunt I decide this is the most perfect pussy I have ever seen in my life - and there have been quite a few.
“Wh-what are you doing?” She asks me, her voice still shaky from her climax as she sits back up.
“Need to taste this pussy,” I murmur, my eyes locked onto her cunt, hands spreading it open, making my mouth water.
“Paige I have to get back to work,” she whines, looking down at me as I begin to kiss her inner thighs, pulling her legs over my shoulders. “There could be customers.”
“There aren’t,” I say matter of factly. Truthfully there was no way for me to know, but I needed to have my mouth on this pussy right fucking now.
“How do you- oh fuck.”
My eyes flutter shut at the taste of her, my tongue dipping inside her and slowly circling. I wrap my arms around her thighs, pulling her closer as I drag my tongue upwards through her folds to her red, swollen clit, lapping at it. I can already tell this isn’t gonna be a one time thing. There was no universe in which I didn’t get to have my face buried in this pussy at least once a week.
“Wait wait wait, too much-” she hisses but then I press my tongue flat against her and shake my head, making her gasp and throw her head back. I hum against her pussy, taking turns lapping her up sloppily and shaking my head against her, drinking all of her up.
“Valerie,” I moan into her cunt. I usually didn’t like saying the names of the girls I fucked during sex but something about the softness of the letters, the way the name felt in my mouth made me wanna repeat it over and over like some sort of oath, like a prayer.
“Taste so fucking good,” groaning I suck on her clit, listening to her hiss. “Could eat this pussy forever ma.”
The shake in her legs tells me I’m getting her there again, and her hands finally find my hair, making me moan as they pull on it suddenly. When my tongue precisely licks over the right side of her clit she lets out a guttural moan, my own need pooling in my boxers once more.
“Right there?” I ask, repeating the movement of my tongue, taking it as confirmation when she cries out and her back arches. Copying the movement of my tongue over and over again I keep working her, my face getting covered in her, my own spit dripping down her pussy making an even bigger mess. The thick thighs around my head are beginning to shake, pressing to the sides of my face. I pry them further open, with enough force to bruise her. The brunette doesn’t seem to mind though, her whimpers turning high pitched and desperate.
“Shit shit shit shit,” she repeats quietly, her whole body trembling.
“Gonna cum for me again?”
“Mhmm,” she mewls, nails digging into my scalp.
My fingers spread her pussy further apart, my tongue moving even faster on her clit now as her hips squirm, my lips following her.
“Paige fuck right there,” she gasps and I keep going, the strain in my jaw merely an afterthought, only thing on my mind getting the brunette in front of me to come all over my face.
“You got it baby, c’mon,” I praise against her, copying the movements from before as her grip in my hair tightens.
“I, Fuck-” she gasps and she’s coming again, pulling my face closer as she squirms all over the table, my tongue not easing up as the pleasure takes over her. I swear I feel just as euphoric, watching her like this.
When her whines turn high pitched I ease up my movements, wiping my mouth on her thigh before getting up from the floor. Valerie’s out of breath and her eyes are heavy, mascara smudged underneath her eyes and lips plump from the rough kissing. I don’t know what does it, but something I can’t control makes me lean down and kiss her. I never kiss girls after sex.
Just as I’m about to speak, the bell on the door jingles, returning both of us back to the backroom of Ted’s, the fluorescent lights suddenly harsh and overwhelmingly bright.
“Shit,” Valerie gasps and starts getting dressed in record time. I watch her, my brain still mush from what we just did. She quickly brushes her hands through her long hair and rushes to the front, leaving me alone.
“Hi, what can I get ya?” I hear her faint voice a little too perky compared to how she normally sounded.
Wiping my lips I stare at the calendar on the wall marking everyone’s shifts, but all I see is Valerie. Blinking stupidly I wipe my mouth, my mouth twisting into a small smile. The heat in my cheeks and the butterflies in my stomach made themselves known - informing me that this girl would have me utterly, completely fucked from now on.

secret rhymes - 11. roomie (half-written)
a/n: and random idol landed on yujin (idk much ab her but hopefully enough for this to be accurate... hopefully)
the sound of the door creaking open pulled you from basically every thought racing in your head. you turn to see a girl stepping in, with a bag slung over her shoulder and a drink in hand. she freezes mid-step as she catches you in her eye, blinking in surprise.
"oh!" she says softly, though her voice carries a slight edge of surprise. "i didn't think you'd make it today."
"yeah, um, surprise?" you offer a shy smile, stepping aside from where you had been standing by your side of the room (the side with literally nothing present). "i just got here yesterday... stayed at a, um, friends place before arriving. you must be my roommate?"
"looks like it," she says, recovering quickly. she walks over and plops down on the edge of her bed. "i'm yujin, ahn yujin."
you look down at her extended hand before reaching over to shake it. her smile was genuine, and it eased you a bit.
"nice to meet you, i'm l/n y/n."
she tilts her head slightly, eyes scanning you a bit before she mutters, "this feels kinda real now."
you laugh softly, nodding as you sit on the edge of your bed. "yeah, it's kind of surreal for me."
there was a moment of quiet as yujin began sipping on her drink, and you began to unpack the bag beside you a bit. the silence wasn't that uncomfortable, you've been through worse, but it hung in the air like a question waiting to be asked.
"so," yujin starts after a beat, glancing over as you take out a pair of slippers. "are you nervous?"
"oh for sure," you admit with a slight chuckle. "you?"
"same." she says, laughing lightly. "but i'm kind of excited too. it's a very weird mix."
you nod, sensing the tension in the room dying down. "where are you from?" you ask.
"daejeon," she answers, "kinda far... so it's a bit different. i've never been so far away from home, but i got a nice scholarship here."
"that's funny, it's the same for me." you explain, "i'm actually from new york city, so this is really... different. i've been a couple times but... living here now? and university? it's kind of insane to me still. i got a full ride, couldn't turn it down, especially at a place like yonsei."
her eyes widen a bit, genuine curiosity sparking in them. "new york? wow. that must be amazing..."
"it has its moments," you respond with a shrug. "it's loud, crowded, and overwhelming sometimes. seoul seems a bit more peaceful, at least where i've been to in the past and yesterday."
yujin laughs at that, her eyes crinkling at the edges. "i guess every place has its ups and downs."
"i guess so."
the initial awkwardness completely melted away as you both talked about your hometowns, your expectations for college, and little things like favorite foods and your love for music. yujin had an easygoing way of speaking, and you could tell she was the playful type as she reminded you of some of your own friends. she was always attentive even when you weren't completely facing her as you unpacked, smiling at you in a way that made you feel like you'd known her a little longer than just a few minutes.
"i feel better now," yujin admits at one point, looking up from where she was folding her own set of clothes. "meeting you, i mean. i was worried i would get some super serious roommate, or someone really hard to get along with -- really just someone pretentious."
""well... am i any of that?"
"oh, far from that. trust me."
you snicker, "i'm glad. but i might be like that if you touch my snacks..."
"what? i would never. well... i do love snacks, so it depends." she gasps in a sort of mock offense, making you giggle.
"right... we'll have to see." you tease. "i think we're off to a good start for now. if you take my snacks, i might have to take yours back though..."

Scoring points in my heart - Lara Raj
Lara Raj X Reader Synopsis - In the most important game of the season, your girlfriend decides to surprise you. Genre – Fluff a/n - I think it's kind of short, but I think I got the essence of it. <3 (request)
It was the most important game of the season, you were nervous, your anxiety speaking louder at times. Being calm in those moments was necessary, but as much as you played basketball practically your entire life, you still felt butterflies in your stomach every time the game was close to starting.
One of the things that helped you calm down was the calls from your girlfriend, Lara, before each game. With Lara building her career and being very busy with her schedule, you and she hadn't talked about going public yet, you both knew you wanted to, but you never had the opportunity. Although Lara didn't come to your games, all the support she gave you from afar helped you and consequently your team to get to today, one of the most important games of the season.
Today, to your surprise, you didn't receive anything, not a message, not a call, not even a selfie (which she insisted on sending you every day), nothing. Of course you were worried about your girlfriend, you even tried to call Sophia and Rhea a few times, but you got no answers, and since it was already close to the game starting, you thought it best to take a break.
"No sign of your girlfriend?" One of your teammates asked, they knew you had a girlfriend, they just didn't know that your girlfriend was simply the "rising global popstar sensation, LARA RAJ!".
"yes, still no answers, I guess I'll have to wait until after the game." You said crestfallen.
You understood that Lara was busy, and that was the price for dating someone in the industry, but you certainly wouldn't trade that for anything, you faithfully believed that Lara had an explanation for all the disappearance. Then, when the game was about to start, you cleared your head and started to focus, leaving any problems and worries out of your mind.
When you started running, it felt like there were tons on your shoulders and legs, it felt like you couldn't move properly. Forcing yourself to give your best, you started to be more aggressive, trying to make quick passes and not taking risks and passing the ball more than usual.
It ended up not working out, my coach called your attention, directing you to try to score points instead of just passing the ball. That made sense, in fact, you were one of the best players, if not, the best on the team. It seems that wasn't working for you today.
At least it wasn't, not until you see a Lara cheering you on in the stands, she looked beautiful, her outfit casual and yet she managed to be the most beautiful girl in the middle of everyone. Lara and the Kats were all screaming and cheering, in the stands you can also see Rhea, and now it makes sense because none of them answered your calls.
You only came back to reality when Lara blew a kiss on you, a smile on the red-haired girl's face, you could read her lips from afar, a soft "I love you", it was all you needed to regain your confidence. In the end, the game was a success, his team scoring points and winning the championship.
You were happy, very happy. You ran towards Lara as soon as the sound that indicated the match was over sounded. Hugging the shorter girl and spreading kisses all over her face.
"Oh my god, Yn! You're all sweaty." She said, laughing and pulling away softly.
"What happened to you? I called everyone and no one could answer, I started to get very worried, what happened to you? And since you're here, I mean, can you be here? Oh my god, everyone saw me kiss you, I'm sorry, baby, I just..."
Lara interrupted you by gluing her lips to hers. Her arms wrapped around your neck as you held the shorter girl by the waist. At that moment, you didn't even care anymore if someone was looking, let them look, you have Lara Raj in your arms.
You didn't care, too lost in all the sensations you felt when Lara was around you, everything was perfect, nothing could make you sad, discouraged or bad when Lara was around.
"How about telling the world that you're mine, baby?" Lara said, caressing your slightly messy hair.
"Are you serious?" You asked, incredulous at the possibility that they didn't have to hide from anyone else.
"Super serious. So what do you think?" She asks, her head tilting a bit as she looks into your eyes.
I'd love to tell everyone that we're together, baby." You said, leaning over and giving the red-haired girl one more kiss.
sorry if this is too short, i kinda have some relatives over at my house right now, so it might take me a while to respond to some requests.
or I can just run away and write to you, it will depend on how the day unfolds...

Yes, another post about the ring. But this is different, I promise!
I'm not gonna beat a dead horse. I think by now all of us (or most of us, at least) have heard about the controversy surrounding the ring.
But what I want to focus on is HOW she's wearing the ring.
From what we know, she publically started to wear the ring in June (at least she's photographed wearing it) on her right hand with the heart pointed in. She is now wearing this on the left hand, heart tip pointed in. Which is how it's worn for marriage.
And what do we know about the ring?
-We know it was commissioned while L and N were on the WT because Chupi said it takes approx. six weeks to create.
So hypothetically, they're somewhere in between Australia and Italy and she decides to get this ring comissioned while she's on her WT with her co-star. Because, doesn't everyone decide to spend time doing that while they're traveling all over the world?!?!
Ok, fine. Maybe I can buy that. They're caught up in the excitement, etc...and she's like "You know, I'd love something to commemorate this moment," so she has it made.
Here are my thoughts on this:
-Why a Claddagh ring?
Nicola is ALL about symbolism. She KNOWS what it means to wear a Claddagh ring and in what position to wear a Claddagh ring. Can she just choose to ignore those "rules", I mean sure, she can. But why would she?
She's been wearing this ring in the "in a relationship" position since she's put it on!
Let that sink in!
So, playing Devil's Advocate, let's just imagine this.
She is on her WT with her co-star and she decides to get a ring made that symbolizes her time on Bridgerton.
She doesn't have it made before, so she can wear it to ALL of their stops. But, maybe it wasn't a thought until they were on their WT.
Ok, fine. So she has this thought 'I want a ring to symbolize my time on Bridgerton' and she doesn't want to wait until the WT is over to get it made. Because, I mean ...why would she? There's a sense of urgency for it. Isn't there?
No?
Oh ok.
Between all the chaos and interviews (where she is probably exhausted) she decides she needs to get this ring made! How is she going to get engaged photographed in Ireland without it?!
So she works with Chupi to create a customized ring. But not just any pretty ring that could symbolize Bridgerton. A Claddagh ring.
So now they're finally on that leg of the tour where they are in Ireland, and she stops by to pickup said ring (with her co-star) but I mean, it IS for Bridgerton. They then precede to spend time alone together with her family. Like any good co-worker/friends would do. And why else wouldn't they? She wants to show them her engagement Bridgerton ring and she wants them to spend some time with her fiance co-star.
Ok, so now we're back to London and it's June and we see this beautiful Claddagh ring she's had made for Bridgerton. BUT, it's in the "in a relationship" status. She knows this. We know this. She knows we know this.
But it's in this position for someone OTHER than her co-star. I mean, Obviously.
Doesn't it make sense to have a ring made while you're traveling the world with the co-star (who you have INSANE chemistry with, btw. So much so that everyone comments on it and you just say 'isnt that nice?' that people think we love each other? We never say we're just friends, because...you know what, why don't we ever say we're just friends? I mean, I'm in a relationship with someone else (atleast according to my ring) and everyone else knows you're in a relationship with someone else. So...don't you think that'll piss off our significant others if we don't clarify that we're "just friends"?
No, oh ok. Guess we're good then. I'll just wear this ring (that symbolizes the season where we were lovers. You know, the ring with rings on the hands that matches ones you wear? The one that we picked up together before you spent some time alone with me and my family) to say I'm in a relationship with this other person. They should totally be ok with that. I mean, they didn't care that we took nighttime walks on the beach alone or discussed how we didn't mind being naked together or the fact that we couldn't stop touching each other. Why would they care about this?
Now doesn't that seem a little...odd?? 🧐
The ring is on Chupi's website. Under the engagement section. It was removed once from that section (for unknown reasons) but it's back now!

And I'm gonna save this ship!
---------------------------------------------------
Ren: And you're sure you want to go on this mission?
Jaune: It'll give me time to think about what to do next. Or maybe it'll distract me enough to not worry about it.
Ren: If you want, Jaune, I can ask Nora to-
Jaune: Ren, don't. You and Nora have two kids, and adding a fully grown one isn't going to make anyone feel better.
Ren: I never implied it would. I'm simply offering my home to the man who made it possible for me to have a home to begin with.
Jaune: I... I appreciate that, Ren, but I think I need to get things figured out.
Ren: ...You're hoping Weiss takes you back, aren't you?
Jaune: I... Maybe? She said some pretty awful things, Ren, I mean, I didn't exactly say anything nice, either, but-
Ren: You had a fight, Jaune. It's happened to all of us. Even Nora and I have our disagreements.
Jaune: Yeah, but you guys are perfect for each other. You guys literally grew up together.
Ren: And you and Weiss didn't spend any time together?
Jaune: ...
Ren: ...Let's focus on the mission. It'll be a long three weeks.
Jaune: Heh. I guess this is our first guy's night out in a while, huh?
Ren: Please don't break out the family photos this time...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruby: Weiss? ...Weeeiss~?! (Pulls out key) Weiss, I'm using the key you gave me in case of an emergency! (Puts in) And this time, it's actually an emergency! Kinda... (Opens) Weiss?
Crick!
Ruby: (Notices broken glass) Weiss? (Crescent Rose wielded) Weiss? (Gasps) WEISS!
Weiss: Ruby... I fucked up...
Ruby: WEISS! (Checks her) Are you hurt? Who did this to you?!
Weiss: Ruby...
Ruby: You're covered in blood, but I don't see any wounds. Are they still in the room with you?!
Weiss: Ruby...
Ruby: Hang on, Bestie! I'll get Jaune and he'll-
Weiss: RUBY! (Shoves away) Fuck off!
Ruby: Huh?
Weiss: I'm... I'm not hurt. I'm just... I'm only a little drunk...
Ruby: But... the blood-
Weiss: It's WINE, Ruby... Wine and fine and dine and... and... and wine.
Ruby: But... I thought you hated drinking.
Weiss: I also hate Jaune! (Sniffles) Jaune...
Ruby: Did... Did you guys have a fight?
Weiss: We... He... We... Hrk!
Ruby: Oh no! (Carries Weiss) Keep it in until the toilet! KEEP IT IN UNTIL THE TOILET!
..................................................
Ruby: So, you and Jaune broke up because lien got bad?
Weiss: That's not really the issue, but yes, our income did play a role in our tete-a-tete.
Ruby: Your what?
Weiss: Our fight. He decided to take that long mission in my place, against our agreement.
Ruby: But... aren't you still healing?
Weiss: I'm fine.
Ruby: The doctor said-
Weiss: I'M FINE.
Ruby: ...But you're not. You had to stay off of missions for at least a week for your leg to heal.
Weiss: Well, my rent can't afford another week. And Jaune had already been on two missions, so I had to-
Ruby: Wait. If Jaune is going on that mission, doesn't that mean you should be relaxing?
Weiss: I don't relax. I am Weiss Schnee, and I-
Ruby: Drink until you're a mess on the floor?
Weiss: ...
Ruby: It's okay to ask for help, Weiss. I'd be more than happy to-
Weiss: No. I don't need yours or anyone else's help.
Ruby: Weiss...
Ruby: That's so dumb.
Weiss: Excuse me?
Ruby: For as long as I've known you, you've always needed help! You needed help at Beacon. You needed help at Haven. You needed help at Atlas. Heck, you needed help just ten minutes ago!
Ruby: And it's okay to ask for help. It's not like anyone is going to think less of you if you do.
Weiss: ...Except me. I'm always going to think less of myself if I do.
Ruby: Okay, that's... a lot more complicated than what I was expecting.
Weiss: Because this is the real world, Ruby. I have bills to pay, mouths- Er, one mouth to feed now, and no amount of charity is going to change the fact that I couldn't keep my family together.
Ruby: Your family... of you and Jaune?
Weiss: ...
Ruby: Oh... Oh, this is...
Weiss: More complicated than you thought?
Ruby: WAAAY more complicated. This is a boba situation.
Weiss: Oh, right, you and your sister's code.
Ruby: You wanna use it? I won't charge you anything!
Weiss: Another charity?
Ruby: More like... a gift. From your bestest bestie better than the restie~!
Weiss: I'm not calling you that.
Weiss: But... I think I will come up with something similar to boba, thanks.
Ruby: How about... uh... Honestly, all I can see is broken glass on the floor.
Weiss: Hm...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ren: So... Have you thought about it?
Jaune: I haven't stopped thinking about it.
Ren: Did you come up with a plan?
Jaune: I'll give Saph a call. I hope she doesn't mind me taking the guest room again.
Ren: She hasn't before, right?
Jaune: No, but... I was thinking about what Weiss said. I know Saph is always going to be there for me, but I shouldn't be relying on her so much. If I can't eat, then I'll just go hungry.
Ren: Or you can ask Nora and I. We have plenty of leftovers.
Jaune: Yeah, but your kids-
Ren: Shouldn't be foraging the fridge like raccoons past their bedtime.
Jaune: Heh heh... Who do you think they got that from?
Ren: I hope you're not impying my wife taught them how.
Jaune: Oh, of course not, Ren! Especially since I don't need to imply anything when she told me herself.
Ren: Heh heh heh... That does sound like her. And speaking women in our lives.
Jaune: Ren, I appreciate it, but I'm fine. I'll... I'll talk to Weiss and see if we can salvage what little of our friendship might be left. I still love her, but if she doesn't want, or in her words, "need" me in her life, then I'll stay out of it if that's how she feels.
Ren: ...I think I have an idea of how she feels.
Jaune: Huh?
Nora: YOOHOO~! BOYS~!
Kids: DADDY~!
Weiss: ...
Ren: (Hugs kids) Have you been good to your mommy?
Nora: You kidding? Every day, it's been, "When's Daddy coming home?" and "I miss Daddy!"
Ren: Was that them or you, Nora?
Nora: Heeheehee... You know me too well~!
Jaune: ...
Weiss: ...
Ren: ...Let's head home. I've been eating nothing but rations for weeks.
Nora: Yeah, me too.
Ren: Huh? What is that supposed to mean? (Leaves)
Jaune: Wei-
Weiss: I was wrong.
Jaune: !
Weiss: I was stubborn and... selfish and... angry and... just... horrible to you. So, if you don't want to be anywhere near me anymore, then I won't force you into anything. I just... hope we can still be friends.
Jaune: ...I'd like that.
Weiss: Here.
Jaune: ...Why are you giving this to me?
Weiss: Because it's your key.
Jaune: Yeah, but... I left.
Weiss: Yes. And now you're back. If you don't want it, then I'll give it to the landlord.
Jaune: ...
Jaune: I have spent... the last three weeks making plans to call Saph, or a hotel, or somebody in town who can give me a shower and a bed for the night in exchange for favors and you handing me this... It just feels... off. Like, one day, we're fighting and I leave after throwing you my keys, and the next, you're apologizing to me and handing me my key back.
Weiss: I suppose in the grand scheme of things, yes, that is what happened. However, more accurately, what happened is we had a fight, you left for three weeks, and I'm here to welcome you back and apologize for everything I said in our fight. You were trying to help and I shouldn't have brought her into this.
Jaune: To be fair, I brought your mother into this, too.
Weiss: That was... also something I had to process.
Jaune: I'm... sorry for bringing her up like that. Despite everything, I know she meant a lot to you.
Weiss: Thank you. And I'm sorry for bringing up Pyrrha like that.
Jaune: Thanks.
Weiss: ...
Jaune: ...
Jaune: So, uh... Is my shampoo still there, or did you sell that?
Weiss: Everything is the same as you left it. Save for a few pictures, missing from the shelf. I'm still trying to decide what new frames to use.
Jaune: New frames? You broke picture frames?
Weiss: No, you did when you left.
Jaune: But I didn't... Oh... Ah... Sorry about that.
Weiss: It's fine. Emotions got the better of ourselves then.
Jaune: I'll pay for-
Weiss: What you're paying for is rent and dinner. That's all you'll be using your lien for until further notice.
Jaune: ...Okay.
Weiss: ...Of course, if you have an idea for the frame, I'd gladly let you pick. Along with what underwear I'm going to wear.
Jaune: Alright, that's fair.
Jaune: ...
Jaune: WAIT, WHAT?!
A Quiet Home
Jaune:*walks in* Hey, I’m back.
Weiss:*writing*….
Jaune:I umm, got some food. Saph said she always makes too much so-
Weiss:You should’ve turned it down. Your nephew is a growing boy.
Jaune:She wouldn’t have offered if she couldn’t help. How’s rent looking?
Weiss:Despite my colossal fuck up on the mission, it’s covered.
Jaune:Hey, what’s important is-
Weiss:Jaune, don’t patronize me. I screwed up, got my leg hurt, got the client hurt, and lost the target. *puts pen down* Thankfully I found another high paying one. It’s a three weeks long and I’m-
Jaune:Actually…I put in a request to take that mission too. Client said he’ll think it over.
Weiss:*turns around* Excuse me? You’re taking my job line ups? You went in the last two missions. It’s my turn to-
Jaune:You need a break.
Weiss:Tsk, not this shit again. I just had a break!
Jaune:Crunching bill numbers is not a break. Weiss, your head isn’t in the game, and that’s fine. After all, your mom…
Weiss: “My mom” nothing we aren’t talking about this. There’s nothing to talk about. She lived drunk and died drunk. Predictable ending.
Jaune:Weiss-
Weiss:Give me space! And cancel your request while you’re at it. You’re in no condition to go on another assignment so quickly.
Jaune:…I’m not letting you go on that mission.
Weiss:Sorry, you’re not letting me? *stands up* I don’t remember needing your approval.
Jaune:That’s not what I-
Weiss:No it was, or else you wouldn’t have applied for the same mission despite our agreement. I made one mistake and now it goes out the window?
Jaune:You’re angry.
Weiss:Of FUCKING course I’m angry! I’m trying to keep these lights on and not burden others while you’re bringing in leftovers and stopping my job!
Jaune:You’re not doing your job! You’re running away from your problems!
Weiss:Oh you’re one to talk! The only reason why you’re here is because moving back in with your folks would be too much to handle.
Jaune:I moved in with you because you needed a roommate! My girlfriend was cutoff and alone and I could help! All I’ve been doing is trying to help!
Weiss:I didn’t ask for your help! I was handling things just fine!
Jaune:You were struggling.
Weiss:AND I’M NOT NOW!? Does it make you feel a little better to say you tried. Can’t help but I want to fix things huh?
Jaune:That’s not fair.
Weiss:Oh now we want to be fair? After intentionally making my job harder? For someone who is “trying to help” it never really works out for you now does it!? Not for me not for P-
She immediately covered her mouth, scared and shocked from the venom that almost slipped past her lips; this carelessness was given back with a stare of contempt that ate at her.
Weiss:I-
Jaune:There was a never a second I thought you were broken, or needed to be fixed. Guess that was my fault. Looks like your father did a number on you after all.
Her blood went cold. Weiss’s cheeks began to burn red as her anger boiled over.
Weiss:And yours never cared to do a swing to begin with.
Jaune:Speaking from experience?
Weiss:Get. Out.
Jaune:….
Weiss:I SAID GET OUT! I DON’T NEED THIS FROM YOU! I DON’T NEED YOU!
Jaune:…Good, cause you don’t have me. Sell my stuff for all I care.
He reaches in his pocket and throws his key at her. Weiss catches on reflex before hearing a thunderous boom as Jaune slams the door on the way out that shakes the room and cause a picture to shatter. The room is deathly silent as Weiss stares at the door.
Weiss:F-FINE! RUN BACK TO YOUR FAMILY!
………..
Not knowing what to do, Weiss simply grabbed her broom to clean up the mess Jaune made. Glass was half hazardly swept aside as she picked up a broken frame holding a photo of her laughing with Jaune, their face covered with cake from their house party with a banner overhead.
“A year of memories and miracles”
Weiss’s hand began to tremble until the picture slipped from her fingers. A giant pit filled her stomach and threatened to gag her as her knees fell to floor and her hands covered a ghastly wail. Finally, her breath was robbed and tears broke through shaking eyes filled with dread over the reality that was flooding in. The miracles were gone, and the memories, now bittersweet.

Chapter Two
After a major shift, your life has become a series of monotonous routines. Eat, sleep, go to work, repeat. But when you find a man bleeding on the subway with no idea how he got there, things become anything but ordinary.
General content warnings: isekai/parallel universe, modern AU, mentions of blood and canon-typical violence, some light angst, eventual smut.
chapter warnings: brief discussion of human trafficking
word count: 3.2k
“Where did you find him again?”
“On my way home last night on the subway.”
“... And he was–”
“In the full scout uniform, yeah.”
Your friend and fellow nurse, Allie, pauses in the wake of your words, eyes fixed on the door at the other end of the hall where one of the hospital’s doctors took Levi to be examined.
They’ve been back there for over an hour now, and you’re starting to get nervous. If this goes badly, you’re never going to live it down with your coworkers.
“Is he hot?”
Your jaw hangs when Allie’s words register, and you turn back to her with an incredulous look.
“I told you all that and that’s what you take from it?”
She raises her hands up in a defensive gesture. “I’m just saying, if the universe decided to drop a man into my lap that thought he was Erwin Smith, I would take advantage of the situation.”
That, oddly enough, makes you laugh.
“He isn’t Levi Ackerman,” you say once you’ve calmed down. “He probably just hit his head on the way from a costume party and got confused.”
On the other side of the nurse’s station, Allie groans and gets up. “Where’s your sense of adventure?”
“I’m being realistic,” you defend.
“We see weirder things walk into this hospital every day.”
“I think an anime character come to life would surpass anything we’ve ever seen.”
With a defeated little sigh, she grabs a file and rounds the corner. “Well, whatever he is, I have to get back to work.” She taps the file on your shoulder as she passes. “Have fun with Beyblade. Let me know what Paul says.”
Just as she starts down the corridor, the door at the end of the hall opens and Dr. Paul Holloway exits the exam room. His expression is solemn as he gestures for you to join him.
“Thank you again for doing this on such short notice, Dr. Holloway,” you greet him. “Did you find out anything?”
He looks down for a moment at the clipboard in his hand. “Well, the only thing really to note is that he doesn’t seem to know what year it is or where he is, but all of his tests and scans came back normal. Cognition and reflexes otherwise seem to be just fine.”
He rifles through the pages for a moment before continuing. “There are no drugs in his system, and no significant injuries that I could find that would cause this sort of temporary amnesia, so I would have to refer him out to a specialist if you wanted more answers. But as of now, my only guess could be that maybe he was trafficked and escaped. Possibly in a fugue state for so long that he has no recollection of how he got here.”
You listen intently. That wouldn’t explain the clothes you found him in, but it’s worth considering all the same. Large cities were usually hubs for human trafficking. It’s more likely than Allie’s theory at least.
Dr. Holloway seems to sense your thought process. “He should recover his memories soon, but I would suggest maybe filing a police report. I’m sure he has a family out there somewhere who’s missing him.”
You consider it. “Yeah,” you say, nodding. “I’ll mention it. Thanks again, Dr. Holloway.”
“Of course.”
You wait quietly as he opens the exam room door again and beckons Levi out.
He’s just as passive as ever when he sees you waiting. With a departing nod, Dr. Holloway continues down the hall to another exam room.
“So,” you begin, “how are you feeling?”
“Like a test subject,” Levi grumbles, falling into step with you. “Four-Eyes would love this place.”
You turn to look at him. “Huh?”
“Nothing,” he quickly says. “So, are you satisfied now? I can go?”
You walk through the nearby exit door on the side of the building and onto the street.
“Well, Dr. Holloway didn’t find anything wrong, so I guess you’re welcome to go wherever you like,” you say. “But I really think you should go to the police. I think something really bad has happened to you, Levi. They might be able to help you.”
While you speak, Levi looks around, studying the cars as they pass and the tall buildings.
“Somehow, I doubt that,” he sighs. “I think I’m too far from home to go back.”
The recognition that bleeds through his tone makes you curious. “Do you remember where you’re from?”
“It doesn’t matter.” His mouth twists into a frown. “It’s definitely not around here.”
You want to keep pressing but ultimately decide against it. It isn’t as if it’s any of your business, but you feel a sense of responsibility for his well-being. You were the one who found him, and if you have the means to help him get to where he needs to go, you’d be willing to offer. It isn’t as if you’ve got anything else going on in your life, but you can only do so much when he doesn’t want you to pry into his personal life.
“Well...” you trail off, unsure. “I need to get some groceries but once we get back to my place, I can wash your clothes before you leave. That’ll give you some time to decide what you want to do.”
To your surprise, it doesn’t take him long to agree.
“Okay,” he nods. “Let’s go.”
**
The supermarket isn’t far from your apartment, so you get onto the city metro together. It’s a familiar route to you, but it’s clear that Levi isn’t accustomed to the amount of people that cram themselves together into the narrow space at once.
There aren’t any seats when you climb on, so you’re forced to stand together in one of the corner exits. At the very least, Levi remembers to grab onto one of the handrails just before the train starts moving—an action that he still seems to find disgusting despite the necessity.
“What?” you laugh at his pinched expression.
“I think I preferred it the way it was last night,” he remarks, not doing anything to hide his distaste while looking around. “How often do these things get cleaned?”
You blink. “Uh, I don’t know. Probably only when something seriously hazardous happens. Like blood or puke.”
The look on his face only grows.
“Don’t worry. I have sanitizer in my bag. I can give you some when we get off,” you promise. “I never got rid of the habit from covid.”
The way Levi’s brows furrow suggest that he doesn’t know what either of those things are either, but you just shake your head, wordlessly promising to explain later.
Once you’re off the train and back out onto the street, you move to the side to pull the aforementioned bottle out of your bag. Levi watches quietly until you reach and squeeze some of the liquid into his upturned palm.
He lifts it closer to his face. “What is this?”
“It’s sanitizer,” you say, rubbing your hands together. “Just rub it in like this. It kills the germs on your hands that you can get from touching random surfaces.”
He follows your example, albeit a bit more slowly, and you set off again down the street.
The rest of the walk is done mostly in silence. Thankfully, Levi doesn’t seem to mind. He chooses mostly to walk along beside you, occasionally looking up at skyscrapers as you pass them or balk at the occasional interaction on the street. There’s a sense of wonder and curiosity that settles on his face, smoothing out the stern glare that you’ve seen him wear since you first found him on the metro.
It really is like he’s never seen anything like it before, and you wonder again about his history. He doesn’t seem afraid of anything, merely curious as he walks, and he carries himself confidently. Like a soldier…
No, that was Allie influencing your thoughts. There’s no way this man was the Levi Ackerman. Even if he had his hair, his stature, the same sullen expression, and similar mannerisms to ones you’ve seen in the anime. It’s an impossible thought. You’re not even considering it.
“What are you staring at?”
You blink and realize that he’s looking at you now and holy shit, his eyes are even that shade of blue-grey.
You turn forward again just as a crosswalk changes for you to go. “Nothing,” you say quickly. “You just… remind me of someone.”
He doesn’t reply—most likely because he doesn’t care—but you’re grateful that he doesn’t pay it any mind.
But by the time you’ve entered the supermarket and grabbed a cart, your curiosity outweighs your hesitation.
“Can I ask you something?”
Beside you, Levi scans the produce aisle you’re approaching with passive interest. “That depends.”
Ignoring him, you press forward. “Is there some reason you won’t tell me what’s going on?”
You speak and he turns to look at you, his brows furrowed.
“I mean, it’s pretty obvious that there’s more to what happened than you’re letting on,” you continue. “And I know it’s none of my business, but…”
“You’re right. It is none of your business.”
The comment stings more than you expect, but you try to quickly brush it off. You don’t know this man, and in a matter of an hour or so he’ll be gone. You’d promised yourself that as long as he was healthy, you wouldn’t meddle.
But after everything you’ve done for him, it still feels unfair to treat you so dismissively. He acts like you’re a nuisance more than the person who cleaned him up and gave him a place to sleep out of the cold.
The ensuing silence is tense. You push your cart forward, suddenly eager to get out as quickly as possible. The faster you get home, the quicker he leaves. If that’s what he wants after everything you’ve done, he can have it.
You’re moving through the selection of deli cheeses when Levi speaks up again.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you,” he says in a low voice. “I wouldn’t believe it myself if I wasn’t witnessing it with my own eyes.”
You look around, following his gaze as it skims over the refrigerated walls of pre-packaged meat and cheese.
“What are you talking about? It’s a grocery store.”
He huffs. “That doctor said the year was 2024.”
You change course, leading the way into an aisle of canned goods. “Yeah?”
It’s quiet for a long moment. Levi’s arms are crossed over his chest as he follows along.
“I don’t know how it happened, but I’m not from here.” He pauses for a moment as you pull some cans from a shelf and place them in your cart. “I’m not from this time.”
You stop for a moment and look at him. On his face is the same look he had the night before, that same sincerity when he told you he’d been looking for some sort of headquarters.
You can’t help it. You chuckle. “You’re talking about time travel.”
“If that’s what you want to call it.”
You continue down the aisle and turn into the next one. “Levi, there’s never been a recorded instance of time travel…ever. It’s never happened.”
Levi rolls his eyes. “See? You don’t believe me.”
“It isn’t about believing you. It’s impossible.”
But even as you say it, you don’t feel entirely convinced that it’s true.
Improbable, sure. Very unlikely. Insane that you’re even considering it, but the more you think about it, the more the pieces seem to fall into place.
The way you found him, his clothes, the way he looks around at everything like he’s seeing it all for the first time. There’s no indication that he has a serious head injury, so you can’t fall back on that anymore. And the trafficking? Well… You’ve been trained to look for red flags, and nothing about his situation seems to fit with that explanation.
Plus, there are the coins you found in the pockets of his clothes this morning. Copper and silver ones bearing symbols you don’t recognize. The silhouette of a woman in a crown.
You’d looked up every conceivable country that you could think of that might fit the bill and nothing had matched.
There’s no way that what he’s saying is true though, right? If you believe him, you’d have to believe all of it—meaning that he is Levi Ackerman and that the events of Attack on Titan are real.
No, that’s silly. In all of recorded history, there’s never been a single event that coincides with the existence of man-eating titans. Belief in giants is a fringe theory not backed by actual evidence.
But, still. Just to humor him.
“What time are you from then?” you ask.
“854.”
You stop and stare at him. “You realize that’s…over a thousand years ago, right?”
With his mouth in a thin line, Levi nods.
You continue to stare, waiting for a break in his composure. The inevitable laugh that will surely come, marking this entire conversation as a joke, but it never comes.
“You’re serious,” you finally say.
Levi blinks. “You believe me?”
God, what do you believe? “I…” You bring your hands to your face. The middle of the pasta aisle is not the place to be weighing the possibility of time travel. “No,” you finally say. “I mean, I don’t know…can you prove it?”
Levi raises a brow. “How am I supposed to prove it to you?”
“I don’t know. You’re the one claiming to be over a thousand years old.”
“I’m not claiming to be—” he cuts himself off with an irritated sigh. “You’re just as bad as the brats back home.”
Something in your patience finally snaps.
You start walking again, needing space. “You know, you could stand to be a bit nicer to me considering all I’ve done for you.”
For a long moment, there’s only the rattling sound of the cart’s wheels as they roll down the aisle.
“I am grateful,” Levi finally says, surprisingly still following next to you. “But I didn’t ask you to interfere.”
“Well, most people wouldn’t have just left a man to bleed all over the metro. I’m sorry I have basic human decency.”
“Basic human decency would have been pointing me in the direction of the nearest sink,” he points out. “You let me sleep on your couch.”
You turn to glare at him. “I’m sorry, are you complaining right now?”
“I’m saying that I don’t like owing people,” he says.
You resist the urge to roll your eyes. “You don’t owe me anything. I would have done the same thing for anyone.”
Levi doesn’t look like he completely believes you, but at least he lets the matter rest.
He follows you the rest of the way through the store in thoughtful silence.
Left to your own devices, you grab things without thinking, relying on muscle memory to lead you to the items you usually buy. It isn’t as if you deviate much from your favorite meals, so the rest of the process is quick.
By the time you’ve grabbed everything you need, your mood has improved enough that you feel a bit remorseful for doubting him.
Even if it was a weird idea, Levi appeared genuine. Like Dr. Holloway had said, he’d probably regain his memories soon. If he really didn’t remember anything about modern life, he was going to need someone to help him.
Maybe he shouldn’t leave so soon.
It isn’t until you turn around to speak that you realize you’re alone. A quick look around the aisle confirms that Levi’s nowhere to be seen. That’s odd. When had he wandered off?
You begin searching back through the aisles and after a few minutes, you spot him. Standing in front of the long, neat shelves lined with tea and coffee. Something akin to dread settles into your stomach at the sight.
He glances over as you approach and places a box back on the shelf. A beat passes before he clears his throat and says, “I’ve never seen so much tea in one place before.”
“Do you want some?” you ask, glancing at the box he put back—a black tea blend. He doesn’t respond, simply skimming over the labels again with a peculiar glint in his eye.
You don’t wait for an answer and pluck the box off of the shelf. He doesn’t stop you as you place it into your cart.
It’s a truce. An apology and an acknowledgment that you’re helping him all in one.
You turn your cart back around and lead the way toward the front. “I’m all done. Let’s go.”
**
The walk back home isn’t as tense as before, but it isn’t exactly comfortable either.
You keep watching Levi every chance you get. He appears more thoughtful. His gaze lingers just as it always has on the buildings and the people walking past. Cars, billboards, restaurants, all of it.
It’s got to be overwhelming. Not that you're believing him, but if he believes that he isn’t from this time, it has to be a shock to see so many unfamiliar things at once.
“What are you thinking about?” you finally ask.
His expression remains passive as he takes a deep breath, like he’s grounding himself. “Everything just looks so…”
“Artificial?” you supply when he pauses, but the look on his face tells you he’s confused by the word you use. You try again. “Uh, not natural?”
“I was going to say clean.” His voice goes soft as he looks around again. “The air is clean.”
Not sure how to respond, you turn forward and continue down the street.
It doesn’t take much longer to reach your apartment.
Levi helps carry the bags of groceries upstairs and into your kitchen, where he stands awkwardly as you unload everything into their respective spots. Luna, still curious, climbs onto the table nearby, making Levi scowl.
Surprisingly, he doesn’t shoo her away when he decides to take a seat, and he even goes so far as to let her sniff him as he looks out of the window.
You smile when you hear her chirp. A noise that you know she makes when she feels like she’s being ignored.
“You can pet her, you know?” you look over your shoulder to tell him.
He meets you with a bored look. “I know. I don’t want to.”
As if she can understand him, Luna meows again.
After you put the last item away in your fridge, you move to sit at the table across from him.
“So what are you going to do?” you ask.
“I don’t know,” he replies, and for the first time, he sounds truly at a loss.
“Well, you’re welcome to keep staying here for a bit longer,” you say, petting Luna when she slinks over to you. “Until we figure something out.”
His eyes narrow slightly. “We,” he repeats.
You meet his gaze evenly. “Look, I don’t know where you came from or how you got here, but you’re here now and you’re still a human being. As long as you’re open to letting me help, I will.”
He seems to think on it for a moment before agreeing. “There are worse things in the world, I suppose.”
And you think that’s as close to a thank you as you’ll get.

how would batfam react if a mission involving a time related brought daughter!reader from the future to the past, and she has like heavy scarring and muscle that rivals Jason’s. Maybe she joined some form of superhero team in the future or became a mercenary
Yandere Batfam w/ Wife/Mother!Darling & Daughter/Sister!Darling Masterlist
Ooooo I have been playing Gotham Knights and this just is such a good idea to me so I am taking some inspiration from that game.
It would have been completely unintentional, an accident during a Justice League mission, but now they are standing in a room with group of bunch of other vigilantes, it’s clear none of them have powers, and it’s clear to Bruce who one of them is, he would recognize her anywhere. The first question is not who are you or are you okay but…
“What happened to you?”
Her teammates have to hold her back from strangling him, the pent up rage over the years coming to the surface. After everything had calmed down, they both get an explanation, something went wrong in a Justice League mission and now they are here and then they are a vigilante group in Gotham…
“Oh so kind of like Batman.”
Barry needs to shut up sometimes because as soon as he says that there are awkward glances among the visitors, including Bruce’s daughter who is just staring at the ground like she saw a ghost.
“N-not exactly… we aren’t on the best of terms with our Batman, Nightwing, Red Robin, Red Hood, Robin, Oracle, Spoiler- you get the idea.”
“Why is that?”
“Take a guess-“
“It’s because of her, because she ran away, didn’t she?”
Bruce was right when he answered the question that was meant towards Oliver Queen. There is just a bitter silence in the room for a long time before the meeting disperses, the vigilantes will be kept under watch until they can find a way back for them, and this means staying at Wayne Manor.
The feeling of walking back in there is horrible, it is even worse when her and her crew are led inside where the entire family is waiting because Bruce needed to explain everything to them, then the looks she got when she just stepped in the doorway made her want to run away…
Dick looked confused
Jason looked like he was in pain
Tim looked as if he was about to cry
Damian clearly wanted to scream…
But then there was her mother and she looked at her with just a smile, and ran her hand against her daughter’s cheek…
“Look how big you’ve gotten, you’re beautiful.”
Then there is the smallest voice…
“Mama? Who is this?”
She looks down to see herself, so much younger, seven or eight, dressed up like a doll, a hard contrast to the person she has become, but the little girl just smiles at her…
“You’re really pretty, you remind me of Wonder Woman.”
The comment just melts her and she sinks down to one knee and ruffles her younger self’s hair.
“Sweetness, this may be hard to believe, but she is you from many years in the future.”
“Wow, really Mama?”
“Yes, dearest.”
There isn’t even a moment before the little girl is all over her future self, asking her questions about her future, advice…
“Do I date that boy from my class?”
“Well sort of… it is hard to explain, he loves you, but you sort of fall out of love with him… it’s messy.”
She can’t exactly tell her that he ended up being in the Court of Owls.
“Oh okay… well where did you get that scar on your arm?”
“I fell off of a building.”
She can’t tell her that she was being chased by Jason and Dick and she jumped off of a building and into the river, bagging up her arm against the debris.
“What I should I do to meet all your other friends?”
“You’ll figure it out, friendships come naturally to us and kindred souls have a tendency to find one another.”
Her brothers and father both love and hate this, her current self seems to happy to have this opportunity and her future self seems to have a huge load lifted off of her shoulders, but the life she lives is away from them, running from them, choosing a life of pain over them.

Training with fem!gojo
A/n:Enjoy my poor attempt at writing a fight scene because I've been seeing way too many gojo vs sukuna edits(guess who's back in his jjk phase). Also, if this does well, I might make more fighting based posts for this au cause I really liked writing this so if you have any ideas for what y/n's cursed technique might be I'd love to hear them
(This is part of my "fem!gojo with a reader stronger than her" au here's parts 1 and 2)
"Allllright everyone are you all excited for today's super special lesson?"
"Well sensei......you haven't really told us what the lesson is about"
".......Oh really?"
"Yeah, you just dragged us here without explanation. This better be good. I skipped my training for this"
"Calm down maki, I'm sure it's gonna be fun"
"It will be, yuta, I can guarantee you that....well for me at least"
".........what?"
Gojo ignored megumi and walked away, turning back to her students after a while
"For today's lesson, we have a very special guest, the strongest sorcerer of today, not to mention my boyfriend:y/n l/n!"
She moved out of the way to reveal you, who just yawned in response while she was hyping you up
"Oh is l/n-sensei going to be teaching us?"
"Nope we're going to fight"
"...........what?"
"I thought that seeing a fight between the strongest sorcerers would be a great alternative lesson. You can learn new stuff and have fun, well I'll have fun"
"I only agreed to this because I was bored, fighting weak curses all the time gets repetitive quickly"
".....that's-"
"AWESOME! I can't wait to see it"
"Very well, I knew you'd be excited"
"Wait, wouldn't a fight be useless since we know y/n is stronger?"
"To make things fair, I'm not allowed to use any of my innate techniques, and satori can't use her strongest ones like her domain or purple"
"OK get away a bit, I wouldn't want you to get caught in the blast"
Before anyone had any chance to complain, all of the students backed away as you and your girlfriend got into position
"You ready with the barrier, ijichi?"
The man with glasses nodded and proceeded to make a large barrier to defend the students.
Seeing this, gojo smiled and started to take off her clothes, leaving her in a tight black shirt (which made you blush a bit as it hugged her muscles and curves perfectly). Meanwhile, you started stretching to get ready
"Be sure to not hold back, I won't even if you're my girlfriend"
Satori smirked at your words and took off her blindfold, throwing it away
"Don't worry, we both know......I never hold back"
You both got into position and immediately ran at each other at blinding speed. She started throwing punches that you dodged. You tried to do the same but were blocked by her infinity
"Tch"
You sprinted away from her and began thinking
'Just as I thought, her infinity is as annoying as always'
You made a fist with your hand as it started glowing with (your favorite color) colored cursed energy
'Luckily, I know just how to counter it'
She teleported towards you and punched you unsuccessfully. You swung your fist at her again, but this time, it started putting strain on the invisible barrier. However, gojo teleported away before it could connect fully
"W-what? Did you see that? He was about to touch gojo-sensei!"
"Did she deactivate her technique?"
"No, the barrier was still there. It was just being weakened, was that one of y/n's techniques?"
"But he said he wasn't going to use any"
"No.....he said he wasn't going to use any that were exclusively his"
"Domain amplification Eh? Can't say I'm surprised"
'Because he's not using any innate techniques, he can focus on using domain amplification all the time,at this rate he's going to go trough infinity soon it's better to deactivate it and focus on blue for now'
"Can we get sushi if I win?"
"Hm?"
"It's been a while since we went out and I want sushi, If I win can you pay?"
"What are you talking about? I always pay anyway"
You cracked a small smile as you got into a fighting position again
"Eh, true"
You raced at her, and you started trading blows at each other like before. Only now, you could freely touch her
'She stopped using her technique?.......good'
You focused all your energy in your punches and continued aiming at satori who couldn't keep up with your strength
"It's insane! the moment he figured out she stopped using infinity he immediately amped up the cursed energy in his fists by undoing the technique, he's so fast"
"And his strength is absurd, he's definitely winning in terms of hand to hand combat"
Just as yuji said that gojo tried to land a punch on your stomach but you blocked it with both hands, thinking she had a chance she raised her other fist but you ducked causing her to lose her balance, you grabbed her by the arm and raised her in the air before making her fall and pinning her to the ground
"You know, I'd actually quite enjoy this position if we weren't fighting"
"Shut up"
"Very well"
You saw her raise her fingers and move them to the right
"Blue"
you were flinged to your right by an invisible force. You put your hands on the ground to stop your motion, but before you could even move, you saw more blue energy form right where you landed
"Ugh!"
"Cursed technique amplification blue maximum output"
You were swept up in the blue sphere of energy that formed under you and that engulfed even the ground beneath you, after playing with it for a while satori threw her blue right at the edge of the barrier, damaging you.
'She's keeping me away because she knows I'm stronger in a close ranged fight, and because I can't use my techniques, I don't have any ranged attacks. she has a big advantage......well, that just means I'll have to get closer one way or another'
You wiped a bit of blood from your face and smirked
".......thank you, this is what I wanted to see, thank you for not holding back"
You suddenly punched the ground with great force, making the rubble and dust spread everywhere, making a veil
'Is he trying to conceal his position? Did he forget about the six eyes?'
Gojo used blue to move the dust and debris out of the way, and to everyone's surprise, you weren't there
"W-what? where did he go?"
'Wait I figured it out! Before, when I used blue to move the rubble away, he got moved too. He used my own technique to move out of my six eyes range........that means'
"Look!"
A mere second before yuta yelled, satori turned her head, but it was already too late as she saw you standing behind her with a fist full of cursed energy.
The honored one tried to activate her infinity to stop the punch, but that was futile as you immediately started using domain amplification when she did. You landed the most powerful punch you had thrown in a while on gojo's back, causing her to spit blood
"That punch.......even I can tell how strong it was"
"It probably would have killed a grade 2 curse, at least. and it wasn't even a black flash"
"Wait, it's still not over"
"Eh?"
The students looked in shock as you didn't even let the special grade sorcerer fly away from the punch because immediately after it connected, you grabbed her by the hair threw her to the ground punching her in the stomach when she landed.
"THIS IS THEIR TRAINING? HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S TRYING TO KILL HER!"
You stood over her body as you looked at her bloody face, mentally apologizing even knowing she definitely wouldn't mind
"We can finish this if you-"
"This is why I love you"
"Eh?"
"Every time I fight you, I feel this sensation....I have only felt with toji, you....you make me feel so understood.......so ecstatic!.....I'm so glad I find you"
You saw her smiling at you. It warmed your heart, and a small smile crept up your face
"You didn't figure it out, did you?"
You suddenly got worried as she kept talking
"Immediately after your first punch, I deactivated infinity so I could focus on expanding blue and red's outputs"
She raised her arm and did a finger gun gesture with it, aiming it at you
"And I haven't used red yet"
You tried running but a red light started to glow from her finger and engulf your vision
"Cursed technique reversal red maximum output"
Gojo fired off an incredibly large red, which hit you directly in the face and sent you flying away, but before you could hit anything solid, gojo teleported behind you and kicked you making you fall to the ground painfully
You stood breathing heavily for a moment, blood dripping from your face before you smiled back at her once again
"Hey, can we allow RCT since the fight is truly getting started?"
The moment you said that you saw gojo heal from the wounds you gave her which prompted you to do the same
"I don't see why not"
"Good........then can we also throw all the rules out of the window since it's getting serious"
Gojo's smile got even wider as she knew what you meant. She giggled a bit before holding her hand up
"I thought you'd never ask"
Everyone who was watching gasped as satori did the hand sign they were so familiar with. you held your hand(s) too in another gesture that everyone could deduce the use for
"Domain expansion: infi-/domain expansion:(doma-"
As you were about to expand your domains, you both saw the barrier being lifted as you grunted in confusion, gojo turned towards ijichi and saw that Yaga was now with him
"Hey what's this? We were just about to get to the good par-"
"What's this!? How about you look at what you did!"
You both turned to see the area of the courtyard you were fighting in completely destroyed
"You decide to have a fight with y/n without asking me in our courtyard!?"
"Well, it wasn't for nothing, you know? My students have learned a lot from watching us"
Gojo looked at them with an hopeful look that they didn't reciprocate as all of them shook their heads simultaneously
".............."
".............."
"S-sorry sensei I was also going to say, wasn't me watching this fight a bit risky since sukuna is inside me and could learn all of your techniques and counters by watching the fight?.......hehe....."
"..............."
".............."
You and your girlfriend seemingly ignored everything everyone said and started walking away unconcerned with your hands behind your head
"So which sushi restaurant you wanna go to?"
"Does that even count? We didn't finish the fight"
"Eh, who cares"
".......you were going to buy me sushi no matter what happened right?"
"Awwww, you know me so well"
She gave you a kiss on the cheek, and you blushed while the principal continued to yell at you two
"HEY WAIT, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?"
In response, gojo simply held your hand and waved at everyone there before teleporting both of you out of there
"..........are they serious?"
"How are those two the strongest?"
".......wait gojo forgot her clothes and blindfold........who wants to give them back to her?"
Everyone present sighed, knowing how much of a bother it was to deal with you and satori

Old Man- Billy Butcher x Reader
Summary: Billy shows reader that he’s not as much of an ‘old man’ as she says he is
Word count: 1, 226
Billy Butcher tag: @rustanddusted
*wanna be tagged in my next Butcher fic? Click here*
The arrow on his laptop slowly clicked around the screen, as Butchers research continued.
“Yah know, it’s a little difficult to find shit out with you sittin’ there watchin’ me, princess,” Billy commented.
He began typing with two pointed fingers as he watched you from the corner of his eye.
“I know, I’m just so distracting,” you joke with a breathy voice as you adjust your legs to sit over the arms of the chair.
Your comment earns you a sly smirk as he continues his two fingered typing.
“God, you’re such an old man,” you laugh at his typing, now standing behind him with a hand on his shoulder.
This comment makes him stop, and it almost seems like you’d won in getting him to stop working, but he just goes back to it.
“Yeh well if I’m such an old man, maybe you can put your hands to work and give me a massage. Me shoulders killin’ me,” Billy complains as he leans into your touch.
Smirking at the idea of getting Billy to moan in one way or another from your touch, you begin to knead into his strong shoulders. Almost immediately, Billy begins to moan from your soothing touch. The sound was like music to your ears, and you could see your plan was working as his fingers stopped typing.
“You really are an old man, muscles all tight, groaning when you stand up,” you joke as you continue to massage his shoulders.
“Guess I just need a young thing like you to take care of me,” Billy flirts back.
You’d tried to me subtle with your flirting, mainly just making fun of him in a playful way, never really intending for it to go anywhere.
Your hands stop at his flirty words, making Billy chuckle as he rises from his chair. Once fully facing you, he wastes no time grabbing you by the hips and pushing you against his desk. A small gasp leaves your lips as you feel his hardening cock now pressing against you.
“Is that it, princess? You wanna take care of his old man?” He continues his teasing, as he pushes you to sit on desk, his fingers now digging into your hips as yours press into his strong biceps.
His eyes never leave yours as he continues.
“I mean you talk about how old I am all the time. That just your little way of saying how badly you want me, sweetheart?”
His smirk reacting to your stunned face is wicked as he presses his face against your neck, beginning to leave hot open mouth kisses on the sensitive skin. You can’t help but dig your fingers into his hair as you moan out.
“Aaaww is that it, sweetheart? You wanna take care of daddy?” He taunts, his strong fingers now digging into your cheeks, forcing your lips to jut out into an over exaggerated pout.
He stares into your eyes cheekily, cocking an eyebrow and waiting for a reply.
“Yes, daddy,” you reply as best you can with your lips pushed out.
Your words excite Butcher, as his smile widens to show off his teeth. The image of his exposed teeth making him appear like a wolf, hungry for the prey he’s caught.
“Good girl. You wanna ride daddy on the couch or on his bed? I mean I’d fuck you but like you’ve said I’m such an old man,” he jokes.
“The couch. Closer to the door in case my pussys too good and you have a heart attack,” you joke back as he releases your face.
Your joking does nothing to hurt him, and only seems to excite him more. His strong hand reaches around your throat as he pushes his lips against yours, in a hungry kiss.
Pushing off the desk and making your way over to the couch, you hungrily rip at each others clothes. By the time you’ve made the short distance to the couch and you’re straddling Billy’s lap, you’re both completely naked; some of the clothes left along the way torn from literally ripping them off of each other.
Billy’s strong hands stroke from your thighs and over your waist before grabbing two handfuls of your breasts.
“Fuck, what did this old man do to deserve tits so perfect,” he growls as he rough squeezes at them, almost in a trance.
The intense trance your body has Billy under only breaks as your hand wraps around his throbbing cock. You barley pump it before Billy is loudly groaning and wrapping his strong arms around your body, pushing you against his warm chest.
“You want me to take care of you, old man? Let me do all the work and I’ll make you feel so good, daddy,” you tease, lightly nipping at his neck as you line yourself up with his thick cock.
Sinking down onto him, your head is thrown back at the perfect way he stretches you out. Your loud moans mix together, and your eyes lock as you begin to move.
Your hands hold his shoulders for support, while his hands grab at your ass and hips, while you begin to grind and bounce on his lap. His cock his filling you up perfectly, and he keeps hitting your sweet spot over and over.
“Fuck, princess, taking care of me so good. Your pussy feels fuckin’ amazing!” He groans out, staring at your blissed out face above him, as his grip tightens of your ass.
Leaning forward, your hands go past his head and grab onto the back of the couch, and you bury your face into his neck as your movements speed up.
At this new angle, Billy can see your ass perfectly. Grabbing onto it with two hands, he forces your movements as he feels himself getting closer.
“You gonna finish already, old man? Not even gonna let me cum first?” You breathlessly joke into his ear.
Your teasing earns you a deep chuckle, as Billy powerfully thrusts his hips up into you. His cock pushes even deeper inside you, causing you to scream out a moan at the perfect feeling.
“You think I was just gonna get you to ride me once, princess? Unlike the boys of your generation, I actually know how to treat a lady. Gonna cum deep inside your tight little pussy, then I’m gonna spend so much time between your legs making you cum that you’ll forget how to fuckin’ walk!” He groans out as he takes over.
His thrusts become more powerful and your head begins to go dizzy with pleasure.
“Here I thought you were gonna look after me, but you got me doin’ all the work. It’s okay, princess, daddy will look after yah. You gonna let me cum in your tight little pussy?” He asks breathlessly, right on the brink of finishing.
“Yeeess! Cum in me, daddy,” you moan against his ear.
Billy growls out as his hands on your ass tighten and his heads thrown back, yelling out a powerful moan.
He thrusts into you lazily a few more times, before his grip on your ass loosens.
Catching his breath, his arms wrap around your body, as he sweetly pushes you against him.
“How’s that for ‘old man’?” He chuckles at the fucked out look on your face, as he sweetly kisses your forehead.

Unwanted- Part 5
Paring: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Summary: Y/N is an enhanced SHIELD agent who is forced to work with the Avengers. What happens when they discover that she’s not alone?
A/N: I actually don't know where this series is going. But I have so many ideas. Feels good to be back!
"So how does it work?" Peter asked while he was playing with his fingers looking around.
"How does what works?" You confusingly asked without taking your eyes off the road.
"The thing with the alien, you know V..."He stared saying. However, he was cut by the sound of the breaks stopping abruptly the car.
"Don't" You said sighting. "Don't say it's name when I'm driving. We trained it to come out at the mention of its name. You don't want to see it crashing the car, do you?"
The young boys eyes were full of both wonder and fear. You didn't own him an explanation about why the name should not be mentioned under certain circumstances, but you knew what kind of kid he was, and how talkative he could be.
"Sorry, Miss Y/L/N. I didn't know." He said it with an apologetic look on his face.
The ride back to your apartment was normal. You were aware that he was late for school, and probably would end up in detention for it. But you both agreed to go to your apartment first if he could go on the passenger seat right next to yours.
After a long, long, long trip, where Peter talked about his suit, his friends, his projects, how cool Stark was, and how cool working with the Avengers was, you finally made it out to your apartment. Sure, the trip wasn't thaaat long, but to you it felt like ages.
"Wait here, I'll be right back." You said as you walked inside your apartment.
You enter your office looking for your safe box. You knew that maybe leaving important files was not the best thing, so you were more than in a hurry to find them. Once you stood in front of the box, you entered the password and opened it. As you took your files, you heard steps coming from your living room. Immediately you turn to Venom and prepare yourself in case you needed to kill someone.
However, the moment you stood foot in the other room, a loud sound stunned you, and suddenly the feared creature was no longer in control. Turning yourself back, you dropped to your knees and cried the pain in your head. You were fighting to keep yourself conscious; you couldn't give up. As you were about to stand on your feet, someone pushed you back to the floor.
"You know, we were expecting it to be more difficult. I guess you are just weak." A man that stood in front of you stared saying. "You are a hard fish to catch, let me give you that."
"Go. Fuck. Yourself." You said between groans. Your head was killing you, but your mind was too busy thinking about how to get out of there.
"Oh yeah, I will. After I get paid for delivering you to the boss." He said between laughs.
How did these people knew about Venom's weakness? Only you and some man at SHIELD knew about it, as it was supposed to be confidential information. Only you, Fury, Natasha, Hill, and...
"Rumblow." You said, looking straight into the man's eyes.
As you waited for the main man to give you any kind of confirmation that in deed it was Rumlow behind it, another man came into the room.
"Sir, we found a kid trying to enter the apartment. What do we do with him?" He said as a brunette man followed him with a sacred Peter Parker.
Peter's head was being held by the man's arm, and a gun was being pressed on his skull. You immediately tried to stand on your two feet; however, your body betrayed you, making you fall once again.
"Kill him." He said, as he saw your reaction upon seeing Peter being held. You could let the kid die; otherwise, you were dead. They will never forget you if Peter dies. How would Wanda look at you after realizing that it was your fault?
"NO!" You screamed as you finally pulled your body out of the ground to tackle the man standing in front of you. "PETER RUN NOW!"
And he did as you said. Peter quickly used his strength to pull himself out of the man's arms to run towards you. Immediately you stood up and grabbed Peter so he was behind you.
"Listen to me carefully, Peter. I'm going to need you to run as fast as you can. Did you hear me?" You said it without taking your eyes off the intruders.
"But Miss..."
"No. They can't know what you are capable of doing. Now do what I say and leave. Don't look back; don't come to get me; just run and find Stark." You finished whispering so only he could listen to what you were saying.
The truth was that you knew that Peter could take them down. But if these people wanted to take you to where Rumblow was, then you were more than eager to let yourself be taken.
With a nod that confirmed you that he understood his assignment, Peter ran as fast as he could towards the living room window. Guns were fired at him while you stopped one of Rumblow's men to follow him. As soon as he reached the window, he jumped, and you were once again on the living floor in pain. But relived knowing that he was no longer there.
"You bitch! You are going to regret that" Was the last thing that you heard as you were hit with the back of a gun, leaving you unconscious.
You woke up really hot. And not in the nice way. Your body felt as if you were on fire, as in you were being burned from the inside to the outside. The moment you opened your eyes, you saw yourself chained to a stretcher, and the heat came from right underneath it.
"Rise and shine." You heard a voice saying. Immediately you clench your jaw as you recognize who's voice was.
"You know, you should've told me that you had a sunbed. I would've wore my bikini." You said spitting his face.
"Keep that attitude, and you know how it will end." Romblow said wapping his face.
"I'm counting on it, dumbass." You said with a big smile on your face.
The truth was, you loved it. Not the burning pain that you were feeling. But being so close to Rublow. Knowing that he actually was scared. Because boy, you had all the time in the world, but he? He knew the clock was ticking and that he had a few hours before S.H.I.E.L.D. would know your location.
"I could kill you right here right now." The man in front of you said grabing you by the hair.
"I know, but she won't allow you, will she? You are scared of her, I can see it." You replied.
"You are right. But that's the thing. I'm not going to kill you. Nah!" He said as he walked next to a table full of surgical instruments. "I'm going to destroy every hope you have of taking down Hydra." He grabbed a scalpel with one hand and, with the other, grabbed the back of your head. "I'm going to kill your new friends, so you have no one." He said while pressing the blade down your head hard enough to make you bleed but not enough to cut you too deep. "And after that, I'm going to free it, and then they will see you as their threat. And when you realize that you are alone and hopeless, then I will take you to HER. She can't wait to see you and continue with the work she started. You will be all hers!"
"Fuck you!" Was all you dared to say. You couldn't go back to her. You had come so far to be back at that place. Sure, you hated S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avangers, but deep down you knew that they were the only path to revenge. You needed them; you needed Venom. And he knew it.
"Bring Dr. Ackermann. Now!" Romblow said to one of his soldiers.
Back at the compound, the things were not better. Peter had come burst through the door screaming for help, alarming the whole team.
"Hey kid, slow down, what happened?" Tony asked him.
"It's... um... It's miss Y/L/N... We were at her place, and some guys came over, and they... um, they took her. She is gone." He said
The team shared the same worrying expression. You were supposed to take Peter to school; how could something like that happen? But most important, who would do something like that?
"What do you mean she is gone Peter?" Natasha asked.
"They had this device that was emitting some sound that hurt her. And she couldn't move. She asked me to come to you guys. We need to help her." Peter said. Upon hearing what Peter said, Natasha sent him with Bruce to the medbay to see if he had any injuries.
"You know something, don't you?" Wanda asked the spy. She knew something bad had happened. Maybe something related to your hatred thowars Hydra? She didn't know. All she knew was that she had to help you, just like you did with her.
"Y/N has a bomb in her head." Natasha said. The team were left speechless. Wanda couldn't comprehend why. Why would you have that on you? You were not a bad person; she was sure of that. You just needed someone to take care of you. Why would someone put that device on your head?
"What do you mean?" Tony asked.
"When S.H.I.E.L.D. got their hands on Y/N, she was unstable. She couldn't control Venom, in fact, it controlled her. So Fury decided that the best thing to do was to build a device that could control Venom, since she couldn't do it. It turns out that loud sounds and fire are one of it's weaknesses. They built a device that emits piercing sounds straight to her brain." Natasha explained.
Inmediatly, Wanda understood the events of the first night that she encountered the alien. That ringing noise that she heard, the way you twisted in pain, how Venom froze. You were just trying to protect her, and in doing so, you were hurting yourself.
"Okay, and what does this have to do with the bomb?" Bucky asked.
"One time while we were training, she lost control of her body to Venom. It was a disaster; four agents died that day. Venom just tear them apart. So she asked Fury to put a bomb in her head, so if she ever loses control again, she will eliminate Venom before it harms anyone."
"And by that, you mean that'she will eliminate herself'?". Sam asked. As soon as those words left Sam's mouth, Wanda had to leave the room. She just felt like it was too much for her. She felt nauseous.
She had to get out of there.
Wanda run to your room. It was the first time since the incident that she actually got to see it. It was almost empty. There was nothing that really reminded her of you. And that showed her how little she knew you. When she first came to the Avengers Towel, she felt lost. She had just lost Pietro, and she was all alone. Like you. You both had lost so much. She was determined to help you. She wanted to help you. Who knows, maybe one day you two could grow up and be friends, she thought. All she knew was that she couldn't leave you like that.
She came back to where she had left her teamates with another set of thoughts. "What's the plan?" Wanda said.
"I just talked to Fury; he has her location. She has a tracker, just in case something like this happens" Natasha said.
"Alright team, suit up." Said Steve.

Conversations with You
pairings: Josh Washington x F!Reader, Chris Hartley x Ashley Brown (Until Dawn) type: fluff, too deep into the friendship, mutual pining, subtle flirting vibes intended: nervous - The Neighbourhood for the best experience: read part one of this dribble and use word replacer II as y/n will be used. (i can also make a you / y/n-less version, but i just prefer seeing my name for DR purposes) word count: 3091 part 1 | part 2 | part 3
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say." Josh smiled at her comment. He knew she believed in him. She definitely would believe in everybody in the group when it comes to things they're good at.
She laughed back as the match began. Their hands are all on the keyboard controlling their respective characters. y/n's specific character had her focus on one of her teammates, whoever is most probable to benefit from her presence. to boost their damage and keep their damage consistent. The other support would focus on the rest of the team, mostly Chris, to keep them alive. The other damage dealer creates an ice wall and a one way beam of ice, which means the soldier Josh picked would be the best to support.
He chuckled when they saw the second damage dealer being incompatible with y/n's choice. "Guess you're now truly stuck with me, ms. Support."
She smiled to herself at the fact she'd be with him, but she decided to tease. "I hate it."
"Sure you do." Josh focused on the incoming enemies as he bantered with y/n.
The battlefield was located in Germany. Chris's character was in the front pushing the enemies back under a bridge between two buildings, and Josh was on top while y/n hid behind the wall in order to stay alive; switching between the damage boost beam, being blue, and the yellow healing beam. Chris is the type of guy who shuts up to focus, and he was focusing as hell with the entire team in front of him. Josh and y/n had it quite literally easy.
Still having the blue beam stuck to Josh while he decided to relocate to be behind Chris, y/n sighed. "I kind of regret my choice of character now."
"Oh, why?" There was a little inkling of concern in his voice, but it wasn't a long match to begin with if they don't allow the enemy team to secure the area.
She expressed her feelings begrudgingly. "This is my first game with you both and I have nothing to show for it as this support is literally brainless to play, until you have the entire enemy team running to kill you. Then it's a wild goose chase to fly to your teammates and safety." y/n only remembered her side goal of beating the crap out of these two after joining it.
Josh assured her, he was glad it wasn't anything actually serious, or he wouldn't have known what to do. "It doesn't matter if this is our first game together, we'll have plenty more for sure. You do help the team a lot, regardless of actual kills."
y/n proclaimed in excitement. "Great! Then I'll beat your highest score and get more kills." Almost ready to flex her non-existent muscles, until she realized she was only faced by a screen.
"Can't wait to see-" Josh was cut off.
Chris screeched on the other side. "JOSH!" The second damage dealer and support died and there was only Josh, Chris, and y/n on the map currently. "STOP FLIRTING AND HELP ME! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS? THERE ARE TWO SUPPORTS AND ONE DPS AFTER ME!"
y/n flew to Chris as soon as she could get him in her field vision and Josh used the running ability to get to him faster. "You're a big guy, Chris, you can handle them. We're coming."
She spoke up as soon as the beam connected. "I'll try to heal you up, bring your shield up. When you got enough health, I'll damage boost you to help with attacking against them." Chris obeyed and slowly walked back as his shield was up.
Chris weighed his options and shared his opinion on the current situation. "We gotta wait till the rest of the team comes back. They're also going to regroup."
Josh decided to weigh himself in to allow them information they may have not caught. "y/n, after healing him, come with me. I have my ultimate."
"That's great! We'll just have to wait for our team then so I could be taken care of while y/n's away." Chris cheered, feeling the tide could be pushed against the enemy team.
y/n decided to demonstrate the difference between them newbies and her knowing her way around the map. "Do you know where we could go to catch them off guard?"
Josh took a second to think as he was attacking the enemy team to push them back from Chris as he was being healed. "I was thinking atop the area Chris was?" She linked her beam to Josh signalling that it's time for them to go.
She walked ahead to a secret passage way into a building that led them behind the enemy team. "No, we could actually get behind the enemy team and use Chris and the rest of the team as a distraction."
"Smart thinking, doctor." Josh referenced her character choice in complimenting her.
Josh was getting ready by hiding behind a building along side y/n's character. She still spoke up to prove her superiority. "Mhmm. You can finally see the difference between you and I. I can think of things you wouldn't imagine!"
"Hold your horses, we'll see when you play DPS or tank." Josh pressed the key to use his ultimate, and walked into the battlefield behind the enemy team as she instructed. A full team kill thanks to y/n's boosting and Chris already damaging the entire team.
"Sure." It was long strung from y/n. She took a breath. "As if that wasn't from my critical thinking." y/n sarcastically kept a monotone voice.
Josh began to tease her, but he decided to go a little farther than what he usually would. "I couldn't have done it without you! I will kiss and worship the ground you walk on, you mastermind! What could I do without you, my dear princess?"
She decided to answer without thinking. "Hardy har. That wouldn't even be enough after I scored you the play of the game, lowly peasant." If she let his words sink in, she'd go against his earlier comment and she wanted to be special in his eyes. If staying strong during his playful flirting and jokes means that, then so be it.
Behind the screen, the facade, she was on the brink of shutting the game off. The winning message showed on all three of their screens. Chris began to chuckle and went to message Josh after that comment. Y/n's cheeks flushed and she grabbed her phone straight away.
y/n: AAAAAAASSSSHHHHHLLLLEEEEYYYYYY Ashley: WHAT? y/n: HE CALLED ME PRINCESS? Ashley: HUUUUH? IM GONNA TALK TO CHRIS RIGHT NOW
"Oh, hold on guys." Chris absentmindedly spoke as he closed his microphone. y/n absolutely knew what that would be about.
"Do we wait for him or let the queue going?" Josh almost sounding like he'd peek into her door to ask this.
She thought about about it as on one hand, he could come back super quickly and we'd have found a match, but on the other he could take long and he'd have to reap the consequences of being away. "That's a hard question, I guess the game has been going harder on people who get away from the keyboard in a match. Let's wait for him."
Josh, as if a light bulb came on, put two and two together. "Right, I remember reading that update."
"Mhm." She hummed back, still thinking of their earlier conversation and what Ashley might be doing right now.
Ashley: He'll be you guys' wingman and leave y/n: what? Ashley: I'm making him hop off and sit with me to tell me everything he knows about Josh
y/n jumped at the sound of Josh speaking up, as if he fucking knew what Ashley and herself were up to. "y/n." It's fucking as if he was right behind me as he spoke as soon as i read ashley's message. She thought to herself. Eerie as fuck. y/n: DONT LET HIM LEAVE ME ALONE??? Ashley: oh I heard him call you since Chris put down the headphones Ashley: thisll be interesting y/n: oh my god Ash
"Yes, Josh?" y/n responded, trying her best to separate her current nervousness and his conversation with her.
"Chris told me something a bit back that really had me thinking." He spoke while taking breaths and thinking his words over, which makes his argument more stretched out than it has to be.
y/n responds, waiting for more. "Right..."
Ashley: Im having him explain what Josh is telling you right now y/n: i don't love the fact you guys are talking about us while hearing us Ashley: Im doing it with love I promise y/n: liar ure especially NOSEY Ashley: what can I say? WHAT CAN I SAAAAYYY???
He continued after he trailed off last time. "Yeah, I used to pump him up all the time to speak to Ashley and confess to her, right, and now he's saying I should listen to my own advice." He sounds oddly genuine, something the group doesn't see from the playful flirt.
"Okay?" Still not seeing his point, y/n doesn't comment much.
Josh still puzzled about it, genuinely unsure how to move with his friend's words weighing on his mind "The problem is, I don't get what he means? I go for everything head on. Chris has been busy with Ash and I wanna give them space to adjust, you know."
"You do, but I don't think Chris meant it in that sense. It's sweet you allow them space for them, by the way. Not a lot of people would notice those little things." She spoke up, now mirroring his realness as she realized he was being serious. He seldom opened up about anything at all, and she jumped at the chance to support him.
Ashley: chris says ur right. y/n: what the fuck Ashley: he says he didn't mean it in that sense and josh misunderstood him y/n: omh yall nosey asses i swear Ashley: teehee js ur friendly neighborhood wingman and woman
Josh was kind of taken aback at her comment responding to his question; completely glossing over her compliment. "What?"
y/n explained herself. She placed her hands on her face as she sighed at his emotional immaturity. "Josh, are you inadvertently telling me you like somebody? What you told Chris is really specific to context of love, and if he's telling you the same then you're now in what used to be his boat?" How could somebody be that flirty and that beloved by many girls that he rejects be so oblivious to themselves. Her thoughts were rushing, but she knew she had to focus.
Ashley: HE SO DEFINITELY IS YOU HIT THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN y/n: IS THAT ASH TALKING OR CHRIS CONFIRMING Ashley: oh i told chris to explain later, i wanna hear this. Ashley: update: chris is snickering at joshs stupidity i think he knows that we know that you know ur right y/n: im killing you both istg
Josh sounded a bit over it. "I think I'll call it a night."
"W-What?" y/n stammered in confusion, she was expecting being on for a very long while on this game.
"Chris isn't coming back, if he takes this long then it means goodnight for us all." Josh decided to excuse himself with Chris's impromptu leave.
She didn't know how to explain herself without being vulnerable with him. "Josh-" y/n could see her phone buzz multiple times, but she ignored it to focus on his voice. Her eyes are on the screen, but unfocused.
Josh pushed her away, as he often does with people anyway, keep your friends close from a safe distance. "Forget it."
She blurted out. "No it's fine, I get it."
"What?" Josh's jaw tightened.
"You could be the best person for advice for a certain situation, but literally when it comes to yourself, you are unbeknownst yourself. You helped Chris get her, now it's time somebody helps you. If you try at it without support, you might just lose her." She didn't even know what she was letting slip, but she went with the flow.
Josh groaned. "Goodnight, y/n."
"If that's what you'd like. Goodnight." y/n didn't want to push him, she knew of him well enough that it wasn't safe to temper with him when he declines. He knows himself best, pushing him will make things worse.
Ashley: NOOOO MY RADIO ROMANCE DRAMA y/n: its the fact u listened to all of that Ashley: of course I would what if he confesses to u right then and there y/n: huh Ashley: oh yeah after all of that u think he doesnt like u? y/n: we cant js assume that Ashley: ok im asking chris
As Ashley stopped typing, presumably to speak to Chris, she grabs a box of cookies her mom ordered to her dorm. They travelled without her as per usual, so she's stuck in the university dorms for the break. At least she get free food and free time away from people. A message notification popped up on the top part of her phone and her phone buzzed on the table. It was Josh.
Josh: sorry for cutting you off like that y/n: no harm no foul josh im sorry for pretending like i knew Josh: ironically its the fact you were so correct that made me upset y/n: oh. sorry? Josh: im not here to ask for apologies
She took a bite of the cookie in her hand, and since she was typing with one hand, she was unbearably slow. Fortunately, Josh was also slow in his replies. He was probably thinking through every word sent to her beyond this point. Josh: do u think u could leave ur dorm and we could walk for a bit? i think ill take u up on ur offer to talk things over y/n: sure, its a bit late tho u sure? Josh: yeah ill keep u safe dw, im the one who brought u out anyway. y/n: alr sounds like a plan.
She took out a pair of jeans and a fuzzy jacket. The cold weather of the outdoors was not welcoming of anybody used to the warmth of the indoors. It could be snowing, she thought to grab a few more things that would warm her up including a hot coffee. A 'bzzzzzz' sound filled the room as she changed into the improvised outfit. 'Beeeeeep.' She picked up the drink and took it with her.
Y/n stepped outside and walked out of the dormitory walkway to find Josh sitting in the common room.
He stood up and looked at her. "You ready to go?"
"Yep. Let's go." She nodded and walked right behind him.
He was wearing a flannel with a vest. The flannel was pulled up to his forearms. She spoke up. "You are oddly under dressed for the weather."
His hair was messy, he definitely ran his fingers through it whenever he reached a dead end in his thinking. She could imagine him sighing to himself and playing with it to try to take his mind off of things, messing it up further unintentionally. When she came to, they were now outside on university grounds. The place was gated and open for students during all hours of the day.
Josh looked down at the snowy ground and placed his hands in his pockets. "Yeah I didn't really think it through."
y/n smiled sweetly at him, she knew him to be rash at points where he needed to decide on something. "That's alright, here-"
"Truth is!" Josh perked up, cutting her words like a knife and louder than he initially wanted. Causing her to stare in silence, her eyebrow raised. She'd never be upset at somebody cutting her off once in a while, we all have our moments.
Josh cleared his throat and took a moment before deciding to go through with it. "Truth is, you caught my eye a while back. Chris figured it out first and then he became my confidant in this... weird situation." Y/n's mouth went agape, thinking of saying something, but she closed it to listen to him first.
He continued, still looking away from her. Focusing on his surroundings was his best bet in saying all of this. "He tried his best to convince me, but we were friends for a while, it's best to stay that way. I liked our banter." Telling his therapist his woes was already pushing it enough. This was ten times worse and she could tell.
"You joining us without me knowing you would had me appreciating your presence a lot more." She focused on him, his words, his stature, his walk, and most importantly his mannerisms. She knew he had to let this out it seems evident.
He took a shaky breath and y/n took her scarf off. "It made me need to think. If the people around me knew, then I needed to have a reason for it all."
Once he stopped to breathe, she lent him the scarf. He accepted reluctantly, but appreciated the gesture. He whispered a "thanks" and wrapped it around his neck. He closed his eyes to focus on its pretty scent for a moment. "I started regretting all the times I played with Chris alone. I hated thinking this way because of a lot of things. You getting my situation immediately caused my thoughts to go on overdrive."
She caught him between his breaths, now regulated from the warmth of her scarf. "Josh." y/n stopped in her tracks.
He walked a few steps before realizing she stopped, and turned around to her. "Yeah?"
y/n contemplated her words, but since he already confessed at this point, she had nothing to lose. "The reason how and why I joined you guys tonight was because I wanted to get closer to you. You were special from the moment you entered my life." Once he heard her reciprocation, his eyes focused on her moving lips.
"The amount of times you made me nervous-" Her voice, music to his ears, was stopped by his lips meeting hers. He placed his hands on her cheeks to lift her head slightly up. The cold was quickly replaced by imminent warmth. As much as he wanted to be reckless with her, have sloppier kisses, touch her in places that allow him to explore her curves, he didn't like the idea that they were outside. The kiss was short but desperate, she realized he was waiting for this for a long time.
i wanted to end on part two, but i feel like this def needs a third part. im now going to read this with my word replacer. i love this MAN I NEED HIM NOW. id really appreciate opinions on how the characters were written, i never really wrote fanfiction seriously till now. i usually write original work hidden in my endless google drive lol. thank you for reading!

TW: CNC, unsafe self bondage
Blindfold? Check. Shears? Check. Ankles? Tight. Wrists? About to be. With that, I pull on the rope in my hand and tighten the hogtie I've put myself in. I'm on the floor in my room, naked except for a rope harness on my torso, and the other ropes binding my body. Pulling again, the hogite gets tighter as my legs are pulled up and back, towards my arms. One more good yank, and it's plenty tight.
Actually maybe too tight? The rope is pulling hard on my ankles and wrists now, too hard. Fuck. I struggle a bit, but it's not long before my fingers start feeling cold. This is bad.
I roll over and try to reach for my shears. Normally I would just struggle out of a tie like this, but the rope around my wrists has been cinched way too tight for that. I need to cut myself out, and fast.
I continue rolling around on the floor, feeling around with quickly numbing hands for the shears that I have specifically for situations like this, but I can't for the life of me find them. I swear I had left them right beside me! I should've rolled over them by now! Fuck fuck fuck.
My hands are feeling tingly now, and I'm starting to lose feeling. Even if I do manage to find my shears at this point, I doubt I'd be able to use them. This is really fucking bad. What can I do?
Call for help? My roommate is just in the living room, they'd definitely be able to hear me. But then they'd see me like this, naked and tied up in the floor. This is only my 2nd week in this apartment, my 2nd week knowing this person, and they'd be seeing me at my most vulnerable. I don't know if I'd be able to live that down. Fuck it, it's better than losing my hands.
"Elle!" I call out, still rolling around, still prodding the floor with my quickly numbing hands in a desperate attempt to find the shears. "Elllle!"
"I'm coming I'm coming, jeez. What's all the fuss abo- Oh." she cuts off as I hear my door opening. For a moment, I'm thankful that the blindfold is preventing me from seeing her reaction. "Well now isn't this something…"
I don't want to hear what she's about to say. "Please, the rope on my wrists is too tight, I'm losing feeling, there are shears around here somewhere, cut me out, please!"
"Well alright sweetie, I guess I can do that, lets see now… Ah! Here are the shears." Something's off about her tone as she walks past me, presumably to pick up the shears. That doesn't matter right now though, I just need out.
"Please, cut me out quick! I'm going numb!" I yell louder than I need to, seeing as how she's right next to me. It's more of a plea than anything.
"Calm your tits and hold still so I don't cut you, little rope bunny." Again the tone, and did she call me a rope bunny? Whatever, she's cutting me out, that's all that matters right now.
I hear her kneel down and get right up next to me, although she seems to take her sweet time doing it. She grabs my arms tight, I guess to keep me still? I am struggling quite a bit. "Alright, lets free those pretty little wrists free, shall we?" I feel the cold metal of the shears press against my skin, as she cuts through the bindings on my wrists. Finally, I can feel the blood flowing back in to my hands. I'm gonna be fine.
"Fuck, thank you, I really thought I was going to-" before I can finish, I feel a new length of rope wrapping around my wrists and being pulled tight. "Wait what the hell are you doing?" I yell, and try to struggle away. She has a solid grip on my arms though, and I can't put up much of a fight with how tired my arms are. Before long my wrists are once again bound, though not nearly as tight.
"Don't you worry your pretty little head, slut" Elle says, keeping a solid grip on my arms and pulling me up on to my feet. The rope attaching my wrists to my ankles is gone, but my ankles remained tied together tightly. "Obviously you love being tied up…" Elle continues, ignoring my protests. "And I would hate to take that away from you so soon, but you clearly can't be trusted to tie yourself up properly. Luckily, you seem to have left plenty of rope lying around for me to help you out with! Still, I wouldn't want to leave you un-supervised, so you can come out to the living room with me and have your fun in there." What the fuck does she think she's doing?
"No! Elle, just let me go and untie me, I'm done for tonight, really!" I plead with her, still struggling against her grip. Fuck she's strong.
"Nonsense! Now, why don't you quite down a little, hm?" Before I can protest, she shoves something into my mouth so that I can't speak. Judging by the material and the taste, I can tell it's my pantied from earlier that I had left lying on the floor. Then I feel a piece of rope wrap around my head in front of my mouth before being pulled tight, preventing me from spitting out the gag.
"Much better! Now, to the living room we go." With that, she picks me up and throws me over her shoulder. Despite my depserate struggling, her hold on me remains tight as I'm carried out into the living room and placed down in my stomach, not nearly as gently as I would've liked. Once I'm on the ground, I immediately feel my arms and legs get yanked together by a new rope. Elle must have some experience with rope herself, as before I know it I'm tied up in a new hogtie.
I once again try to protest, but only muffled grunts are able to make it through the gag. I finally feel her let go of my arms, but it doesn't matter at this point. This tie is much better than the one I had done to myself, and even as I struggle, it doesn't loosen at all.
"There you go, tied up nice and tight, but properly this time. Huh, seems you left a wet spot on my shoulder when I carried you out here, what a slut. Don't worry, I'll make sure you get a chance to make it up to me later. I've been eyeing that pretty mouth of yours ever since you moved in, and I'm sure it'd feel great around my cock. I have a movie to finish though, so I'll let you have your fun for now. Just pretend that I'm not here!"
And with that, the TV starts playing, and I'm left on the floor, entirely at the mercy of my roommate. I continue to struggle for a while, but it's not long before I give up. At least I can feel my hands again, I guess. I have a feeling this is going to be a long night though…

Chills Right to the Marrow Part 54
ao3 link| part 1 . . . part 51, part 52, part 53
“And just as you enter the cavern,” Will narrates, are sweeping across the board, “a gust of wind blows out your torches, covering you in darkness. Somewhere in the distance, you can hear the low grumble of the monster that terrorized the town.”
They all look at him, waiting for him to continue. Instead, he stands straight again, starting to take down his board. “And I think that’s a good time to stop.”
“Come on,” Lucas groans, falling back in his chair. “You can’t leave us there.”
“How much longer of the campaign do we have?” Dustin asks. “We’ve been playing for weeks now, we could try to finish it tonight.”
Mike shakes his head. “Even if that was possible, it’s late. My mom is dragging me back to school shopping tomorrow.”
Dustin shoves his stuff in his backpack. “Already? We still have a few weeks until school starts.”
“Yeah, but she just wants to go and get it over with.”
They pack up their stuff, saying goodbye to Mrs. Byers on their way out. Mike hangs back while Lucas and Dustin get their bikes. Talking to Will, laughing about something they can’t hear.
“God, this is taking forever,” Lucas complains.
Dustin shrugs. “Will said he’s been working on it for months. It’s not that surprising.”
“Not the campaign. I meant that” Lucas points to Mike and Will.
Dustin looks at them and rolls his eyes. The two of them have been dancing around each other all summer.
“When is he going to get the balls to ask him out, already?” Lucas whispers. “It’s getting painful at this point.”
“He’s just scared, he’ll get there eventually.”
“But why does eventually have to take this long? I swear if I have to sit through one more movie night of them sitting next to each other way too close, and getting all embarrassed when they get caught looking at each other, I’m going to go insane.”
“Why are you going insane?” Mike asks, picking up his bike off the grass and wheeling it to the street.
Lucas catches up to him, slapping him on the arm. “Where are you going to ask him out already? He totally likes you back.”
Mike’s face turns bright pink. “I, just, I don’t know. I’m scared, I guess.”
“Dude, come on. It’s Will.”
“Yeah, I know that, that’s why I’m scared.”
Dustin keeps quiet. Listening to their argument over the soft hum of his bike’s wheels. They would get there on their own time, he knew that. Ever since both Will and Mike admitted to him what they were feeling, it was inevitable. They fit, it just made sense.
It was just another thing that was going to change. Mike and El broke up back in April, but that didn’t really feel like a breakup. They were already apart, physically, for so long, they were able to just pick back up and go back to just friends. It was nice to have a group where it was mostly friends, and Dustin didn’t feel like he was third wheeling.
But then Will told Dustin, Mike slowly figured it out, and Lucas will not stop until they get together. Nancy is getting ready for college. Robin is staying, but only for the year. Wayne and Eddie are moving into a house. Steve is moving. Dustin is still just Dustin. Nothing changing, forever the same.
Everything keeps changing. Everything keeps moving. He feels like he has to too. But nothing he does feels like growth. Feels like movement. He just feels the same. If his younger self were to stand next to him right now, they would look identical. The only change was Dustin was older. Taller. Supposedly more mature.
It’s odd how he can look at everyone else and see all the ways they’ve changed, and see none of it himself. Maybe it’s because he just can’t see it, or maybe he wants to believe it never happened. For a moment, maybe, if he could just look through younger his eyes, the world would be brighter. The air would be fresher. Time would feel less exhausting.
“Did you guys know Steve’s moving?” he asks, still walking next to his bike.
They stop and turn to look back at him. “What,” they ask in unison.
“His parents are selling the house, he’s moving.”
“What about Eddie?” Mike asks.
“They got a house. They’re moving into it in a few weeks.”
“Wow,” Lucas says. “Summer really is almost over, isn’t it.”
Mike rolls his eyes. “That is the most cliché thing you have ever said.”
“It’s true,” he defends. “Before we know it, it’ll be Halloween, then November, then we’re back to March, and it’s the fourth again. It starts to feel normal and then we get hit with something that throws us back a few years. Can’t blame me for wanting to stay in this peace for a little longer.”
He’s right. After the fourth, and everything died down, it started to feel like a real summer. Will and Mike made the campaign, and they’ve been playing it. There were movie nights and sleepovers. Days at the arcades and trying to sneak into the R rated films. Stuff normal teenagers do. Stuff they normally did.
But there was this tension, this wait for the other shoe to drop. For someone to wake up screaming, or something to spark that creep up Will’s next. El’s been searching, trying to look for any clue that they were wrong. That there was a chance they didn’t properly kill it this time.
There was nothing. No indicators. No signs. Pure silence.
Silence was never a good thing. It leaves space for the brain to find something to obsess over, or create. Never quite giving the peace that it is supposed to promise.
Dustin didn’t like the silence. He wanted there to be something in the background. Music, conversations, white noise. Something to fill the space and call him back to reality. Instead of his mind wandering free.
“Do you ever think that one day we’ll wake up and just forget everything? Go about life like everyone who doesn’t know?” Dustin asks, voice almost in a whisper.
It’s almost this reflex he has, to fix everything. To find that off switch. Find a way to get back to normal.
“I don’t think we’ll forget,” Mike starts, a scared hopefulness in his voice. “I just think it might not hurt as much. Like it’ll fade into a distant memory, and we only remember it every once in a while.”
“Yeah,” Lucas agrees. “Like I don’t even remember the first time as much anymore. Not as much as I used to, at least.”
Mike nods, it doesn’t help.
Something in Dustin can’t let go of the idea that he’ll never forget. That this is something that will always haunt him.
“Hey,” Lucas puts a hand on his shoulder. “No matter what, we go through this together.”
“Right.” Mike agrees.
Dustin’s glad he still has them. That after all they’d been through, their friendship stayed the same. Still just as close as they were back in middle school. Different, but the same.
“Yeah,” Dustin says, voice returning to its lightness.
Different, but the same. He hasn’t thought about it like that before.

Part 1 - Part 8 - Part 9
Everything after that was a blur. Alex and Winn was talking to Kara and then to J'onn and then even to Lena, who stood there shocked, face wet and finally hopeful.
Kara wasn't thinking, she wanted to bring Lena to the DEO as soon as possible, while there was still life beating underneath pale skin. But Alex managed to made her come to her senses, before she could fly close to the speed of the sound and make more damage than good.
"It's strange to see myself like that", Lena remarked, while they were flying back. She tried to poke her arm, only for her hand to go through.
"I'll take any strangies if it means you're alive", Kara smiled despite her heart trying to beat out of her chest.
"Well, I guess I am alive, but I'm a ghost still, so it's another thing to consider".
"Don't. We'll find the way", Kara retorted sternly, regreting her tone a bit. But she couldn't help it. So many things happened at once. So many emotions was rattling inside her without a way to escape.
"We will", Lena nodded and then spent the rest of the flight contemplating about something.
/ / / / / / / / / /
Medical team was ready as soon as they arrived at the DEO. They took Lena inside for the examination to determine how bad her condition was. It goes without saying that Kara wanted to be there for all of the discussions but she gave up after Alex promised to tell her everything and J'onn was adamant about her not disturbing the doctors.
So Kara passed in front of their screen relaying her report. Every couple of sentences she would freeze to tune to the weak sound of heart on the floor below.
"She is stable but the situation is dire", Alex arrived in the room, looking somber. She raised her hand as soon as Kara opened her mouth. "They had her on medication all this time, but she wasn't properly treated after the car accident. And it seems they gave up a few days ago so Lena is heavily malnourished. They likely just gave her water and some liquid supplements".
Room fell silent. Ghost Lena was standing in the corner with her jaw set stubbornly, clearly not ready to give up yet. But there was still bitterness in that determination.
"So what are we going to do?" Kara went to stand beside her, offering some comfort. She wanted to rub her on the back and even in her disappointment of being unable to do so there sparkled bright hope.
"We will treat her injuries and devise a plan to get her all the missing nutrients back. She should be able to wake up soon if all is well".
"Thank Rao", Kara sighed and exchanged glances with Lena.
Alex smiled at them before going back.

"How are you feeling?" Kara whispered several hours later, sitting beside Lena's bed.
"It's still strange", Lena chuckled quietly from other side of the bed. "But I felt your touch at the base a little, so I think it's a good sign, even if I have no idea why I'm still outside of my body".
"You felt it?"
"I did. Just a faint sensation, but still".
Kara slowly took the hand laying on the bed and brought it to her lips, still looking right into Lena's eyes.
"That is really not fair", Lena groaned, turning away to try and hide her flaming face. "It's not like I can do anything in return".
"It's okay. I'll wait as long as needed. You promised to take me out for dinner".
Lena glared at Kara's smug smile.
"I'll reconsider the offer", she haughtily lifted her chin up, but still smiled tenderly at the end.
They laughed softly, searching each other faces. It was a beautiful moment free of any worry of the past few days. A time of respite, existing only for the purpose of reaffirming that delicate bond between them and finally letting it to take shape.
"Say, Lena. Will you remember me when you wake up?"
"Will I remember you?" Lena's smile was enigmatic and promising. "I won't forget you even if you asked".
/ / / / / / / / / /
The moment Lena's heart missed a beat Kara woke up, violently torn from sleep by the sound she dreaded the most.
By the moment she somehow cleared the fog from the sleep, there was already a nurse in the room with her. Kara caught only "critical" and "emergency" in her talk over the phone.
"No, no no no", she muttered two steps away from the team, who checked up the vitals and did something Kara wasn't able to understand from the sheer terror of what was happening right in front of her eyes.
"What's going on?" Alex was a welcome sight. Her sister was the only person Kara trusted right now. She would know what to do. She would save Lena.
"Agent Danvers, we need the resuscitation kit. The situation is dire".
After that Kara's world went silent. It was something that no headphones on this planet was able to do. But there was only Lena lying on the medical bed, staff frantically moving around and her sister giving out the commands. And all of that deadly quiet.
"I don't want to lose you", she whispered. Her eyes completely dry, as if even her body denied the possibility.
"It's okay", Ghost Lena was suddenly standing in front of her, blocking the view of yet another tradegy Kara witnessed. "It's okay, you saved me. As you promised. So it's okay".
And seeing her so accepting was even more heartbreaking.
"What am I going to say to Sam? Or to Winn? He wanted to meet you so badly", Kara muttered, lost. "What am I- what am I going to do..?"
"You'll live, you'll save people with your words and you powers and you will remember that there was a Lena Luthor who was not a monster".
Lena was standing there, strong and beatiful. And Kara wanted to scream. To ask why won't she just say that everything is going to be alright. Why was she saying the stuff like if it's her last words. Why was she smiling so sadly. Why she was leaving Kara behind.
Beep
Beep
Be-e-e-ep
Steady sound of the heart monitor suddenly stopped. And Lena closed her eyes, swallowing the tears, so that she can seem strong a little longer. But despite medical team running around and doing everything they can, Lena started to fade. So Kara did the only thing she could think about in these last few moments they had.
She surged forward to kiss Lena.
Even if it was futile, even if she was going to fall right through her.
This was for them. The last act of defiance against fate.
/ / / / / / / / / /
"You don't need to do that, Kara", Clark said to her on the way.
"I need to", Kara frowned, even if it was hard to go there.
"I don't want to see you hurt".
"I'm not going to be hurt, I've come to terms with it".
They stopped at the secretary desk.
Almost half a year has passed since Kara last saw Lena. And it still hurt so much that even seeing the logo of Luthor Corp was enough for her mind to wander for the next two days.
And with their recent investigation her resolve was tested more than once.
"You may go inside".
Inside was the same as when they went there the first time. And Lena was still beautiful, sitting in her chair, reading Clark's article.
After waking up and reclaming the company, she looked like a true bussinesswoman. Sharp and strong. Less soft, more predatory.
"Thank you, mister Kent. This is exactly the kind of press my company needs after yesterday's attack".
Lena and Clark exchanged some pleasantaries, more sincere than the first time they met. And something inside Kara preened at her only blood relative's approval.
"What about you, Miss Danvers?" Lena's smile made everything inside Kara flip upside down. "I didn't see your name on the byline".
The way she almost breathed out these words left Kara scrumbling for reply.
"Uh... Well, as I said, I'm not a reporter".
"You could've fooled me".
Perhaps there was a hope yet. Kara couldn't wipe dreamy smile off her face. Seeing Lena alive was a miracle, even if they were suddenly back to being strangers. But seeing Lena so... flirtatious was a ray of hope Kara tried to crush all this time.
"I hope this isn't the last time we talk?"
"I hope not either. I'll wait as long as needed, so please call me when your schedule has an opening".
She and Clark turned to leave. And now there was a possibility. In Lena's smile, in her now racing heartbeat. It didn't matter if she didn't remember. They'll make new memories together.
"Miss Danvers?" Lena called after her. Kara nodded to Clark to go ahead and turned around.
"Yes?"
There was tears streaming down Lena's cheeks, and before Kara could panic and rush to her, she spoke with a tender smile.
"I believe I promised you dinner".

Wild Life Pearl POV Live Reaction
Ooooo super powers!!
Sick ass guitar riff!
SHE CAN LAUNCH SUPER HIGH IN THE AIR?? I do wonder if she would be taking fall damage. Not that I want to risk it.
Impulse can teleport? CLEO SUMMONS ZOMBIES!! SKIZZ AND MUMBO ARE BACK!!! BDUBS CAN SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT! BIGB GETS CREAKINGS?!?
Invisible Jimmy?
Scott can become random animals!!! Perfect for subterfuge :)
Ghoul 1 and Ghoul 2!
Oh I just realized Pearl can leap super high. And she has a mace. And she doesn’t take fall damage from it! Hell yeah.
Ooo I’m gonna watch Cleo’s pov after this to see what convo with mumbo and Skizz.
Speedy boy Tango! Ooo Etho and Pearl have the same power.
They were slain? And she can bring them back every five minutes? Ah beautiful necromancy. DID CLEO DIRECT THEM TO MAKE FUN OF GRIAN?? AHSIWHWJAKHSJA
Bdubs can slow time? Makes sense for clock boy lol.
So Gem can speak to the dead? NO SHE CAN ASTRAL PROJECT?? SO SHE CAN GO IN SPECTATOR MODE??
Oh we’re friends with Ren now? Beautiful. Just like Last Life.
RIP Scar.
“Gem, I know you’re looking at me” Jeez Louise Pearl. And she breaks her mace right after. A beautiful wet cat move. Those aspiring wet cats can truly learn from her.
Ooo Impulse can swap places with people.
GRIAN CAN BORROW POWERS?? Watcher ass activities. SHE CAN FLY?
Oh does Tango freeze water when he runs on it?
Trap time! And Tanguini is here! Wait that’s how calibrated skulk sensors work?
And another failed trap….. Pearl has failed to kill Gem again… my beautiful pathetic wet cat.
Love their beautiful cane tower now has cherries.
Cleo ordered them to go kill Grian! I somehow doubt this will succeed.
Ren CAN BE OTHER PEOPLES SKIN???
MUMBO GOT THE KILL! W FOR CLEO AND MUMBO IN MY BOOK!
Oooo Scott can choose a mob if he clicks on it!
I am shocked that BigB’s face remains unburnt down.
Ooo Bdubs killed by Scar.
I need fanart of Pearl’s cute hat. HOW DID SHE GET POISONED?
“I did tell you not to fix it. I said don’t bother man” Yes Pearl I know and the way you said it made me go actually insane.
SCOTT ACTUALLY GOT THE KILL ON GEM! GGGG WIN.
Cleo died to a creeper. GGGG loss.
“Hey! My eyes yellow! Can’t be stealing my eyeball”
“This is my skin from last season! You can’t *incomprehensible*!”
“I mean what’s hilarious is you’ve gone for different eyes. So you two have basically just shared contact lenses,”
“This is the eye I lost in the portal that you didn’t remember.”
“Oh sorry. Guess it wasn’t important enough to remember” DAMN PEARL IS GETTING SASSY WITH GEM TODAY LOL
Skizz wants to talk to Impulse privately?
Glad to hear that while Skizz struggles, Mumbo has been a great minion for Cleo. Cleo once again picks a favorite son.
“Minions are to be seen not heard” HAKAHWIANAB Scott I love you
Ooooh wait. That’s why Pearl said cockroaches. Because Skizz and Mumbo can’t die.
And the only thing it killed was Mumbo. GGGG loss.
JUST LISTEN TO PEARL THEY CANT RUN FROM END CRYSTALS!
YEAH THEY GOT REN! GGGG WIN!
Not Pearl pulling out the creeper eggs lol.
Oooo Martyn’s proxy chat is way turned up.
Bdubs on red! BDUBS SHOUTING AND CATCHPHRASE ANS MISSING LOL. Martyn on red! Scott on yellow!
Gem was getting boring because she wouldn’t stop complaining about how Scott and Impulse killed her? And how much better she is than their team? Guess Pearl can stop worrying about seeming obsessed lol. Seems the GGGG live in Gem’s mind rent free.
Oh never mind. The cockroach spoiler was about Tango! And how they keep failing to kill him because he’s so fast! That makes sense!
“They’re trying to get everyone off green and little do they know, you’re technically green as long as you use that, right?”
“Right, yeah,”
“A secret green. Like you got so much potential. I swear like, you better win the series, mate,” Where have I heard this before *flashbacks to Pearl and Bdubs in Secret Life*
“I’m trying Pearl.”
“You have a big advantage.”
“I’m trying but this whole lack of being able to kill people isn’t boding well for us is it?”
“No dude. I can’t believe how much I’m sucking this season. I suck so bad.” It’s okay your pathetic wet cat nature is charming.
“I cannot get a kill to save my life.” Yours too buddy.
Joel got hoppies!
Are we literally all meeting up to kill Tango? No wonder Pearl called him a cockroach.
Aaaaand Gem killed Mumbo.
This is actually super epic for tango. The whole server is failing to kill him!
GGGG has taken down Tango and Joel! Two wins!
Omg Jimmy tried to kill Pearl. Congrats to Jay for a single Pearl and Jimmy interaction where Pearl didn’t even see him. I’m sorry.
Cleo is scared of Gem and Pearl just isn’t lol.
“Oh that’s so weird to see me like that. Is that how annoying I look?” Ur not annoying :( your skin looks really cool.
Tango on red!
Pearl! That’s somehow significantly nastier than calling them eyes.
BYE BYE MARTYN!
Oh no Pearl and Scott :( WAIT HI SCARLET PEARL!!! HI!!! HI!!
She commented on the red hoodie! She noticed their skins match!
Ren joined them? We have… six Gs at this point?
End of session! I see why Martyn was being super cryptic when someone asked how the session went. I think next session will probably be the last given how much of the server is on red, and that’s there’s no greens left to get lives back. Unless you count Impulse, I guess.
My final thoughts on the wild card are that it’s super fun! I love that they all got their own unique power, especially because some of the powers seem to be themed to them specifically like Cleo’s zombies and Bdubs having time manipulation!
