The porn bots are flooding tags again... This time it seems like whoever is behind has ramped up their efforts as I have noticed the botted interactions on the posts are around 4-6 times higher than before, I was noticing last time they flooded in the posts would have around 90-100+ interactions (botted likes from their huge farm of bots) now I'm seeing posts with like 400-600 botted likes per post.
#Kinda crazy that they can't deal with a bot campaign of around 700 bots all named “generic female first and last name + numbers between1-99”#Who are all liking each other's posts and all posting links to the same 2 cam sites#Like you can just open any of these posts look at the likes on it and they are about 99% botted likes from similar accounts doing the same.#tumblr is just so poorly run I guess lmao#tumblr#spam issues

Please do not send me asks for donations
Here's why (for if you find that statement impossible to understand):
I have NO money to give you.
I'm not popular enough that I will give you any reach.
I am a minor, and most of my followers/mutuals are too.
It makes me feel extremely guilty.
Seeing pictures of injuries or hospitals etc are triggering and/or upsetting for me. These pictures often have blood, gore, extreme medical situations, hospital environments, etc. I'm not saying I don't feel sympathy for them, I'm saying I do not want to see that.
They are always worded in a way that makes me feel like I am a murderer if I don't donate.
I said I don't want them, and my boundaries should be respected. They make me feel uncomfortable, and sometimes triggered or upset.
I can't tell what is a bot/scam and what isn't. Yes, I know most of them are not, or whatever it is you believe, but I don't have the time to do a full study of each asker.
I get a lot of spam from this. It is disappointing to see 10 new asks in my inbox just to be the same ask for donations over and over.
Please, just respect the fact that I have said this.
If you want this in your pinned post, please don't credit me. You can copy the words or take a screenshot with my username cropped out. You can reblog this but please don't go on about how awful your experiences have been. I get it, but also if you spiral two much you might end up accidentally saying something bad. This post has led to a lot of hate anons and harassment, so I would rather not have too much attention. Thanks...
I am pro Palestine and want to do everything I can to help but I'm not financially or mentally well enough to do much. I'm not in support of these people dying. Also, this post isn't just about Palestine. It's about ALL asks for donations. I'm not doing favouritism or racism. I just can't deal with it. Don't harass me for expressing boundaries. This post applies to people of all nationalities and backgrounds. Every situation- war, poverty, injury, anything. I'm not discriminating. I'm not being a zionist or a racist or an ableist. It's a boundary.
Yes, this post might seem controversial. But I did literally make this for my own personal experience and didn't expect it to get more than 12 notes or so. Don't add opposing views because quite frankly, it's none of your business. It's not my problem and I didn't mean for this post to get so many notes. Don't use the number of notes as an excuse to fight me. I just want a peaceful Tumblr experience. Also, if you are reblogging this, don't trauma dump. I keep notifications on for this post so that I can block people harassing me before shit escalates, so I can see every reblog. You can screenshot and repost if you want to talk about your problems, but honestly its no better seeing people saying "I'm bankrupt and I just got kicked out by my family. I also have a history of abuse and those images are so triggering that I want to die". That doesn't help me. Make your own post to say that. Please.
I am taking this post off private after slightly modifying it. Any conflicting arguments based on this post will result in my blocking and reporting of you. If you do not understand my point of view, make sure you fully read the post before saying this. I made this post for my blog. If you have any questions or don't understand this post, send me an ask that is composed, calm and polite, and I can talk it through with you.
Please note that by sharing this post, you are more likely to be targeted by bots and scams. You are also more likely to be harassed. Please be safe.

so i wanna talk about 2b2t, specifically as a backstory for qfit. because the thing is everyone talks about 2b2t as a wasteland and a wreck and a bombed out warzone and like. it sure as hell isn't not that. but it's also a server that people keep on coming to. it's a server that takes pride in actively murdering new members, but it's a server that keeps on having new members
so, what's the draw? what keeps people coming and coming back?
well, the thing about an anarchy server is that it has no rules, be they rules of society or rules of reality
the way i think about 2b2t is that it's a fucked up wonderland. like you know when someone makes a deal with a sinister fairy and it comes true in the worst way for them possible? that's how everything works on 2b.
you want infinite blocks for your builds? sure, the griefers have infinite tnt too. you want infinite totems to stay alive? sure, end crystal pvp means you're gonna need every last one of them. you want fame and fortune for griefing a legendary build? sure, you got a target on your back for the rest of your life though
but the thing is that the metaphorical fucked up fairies are busy. it's down to the individual server members to take care of the double dealing and the double crossing and the wreaking of havoc. and they do! with delight! but they can't* be everywhere at once.
so, you have a chance. you can get lucky. you can get lucky for a while. you can build a nice little life for yourself. you can even get it off the back of tearing other people down if you're quick and you're clever and that's much faster and easier than trying to grind your own resources the vanilla way when every moment is a race against the clock before your base gets found and griefed but you can try and you can do pretty well and you can try again and you can try to get revenge and you can make friends and you can make enemies and you can have everything you ever wanted for the low, low price of everything you ever had and why not pay it when you can just build it all back up again
the other things about 2b2t that i think points to fucked up fairy wonderland instead of standard wartime dystopia is so much of how the server works is really best understood as necromancy-adjacent. so every account is a different person, right? well, some people have a half dozen faces just in case someone finds out where one sleeps. sometimes. there was that one time one guy's shambling corpse** just got reanimated by a completely different guy who took over his identity and no one really minded when they found out
there's an entire population of bots that move and act like players and communicate in all the ways players can barring hte most intimate*** and they literally can't be distinguished from players in most circumstances but they're used as delivery drones so they'll bring you a package and then die in front of you so you can't follow them back to the cache
like this is just!! a thing!!! that people live with!!!!!!!
2b2t has highway unions!! it also has collectives who go around destroying the highways!! there are compassionate souls making community areas!! those areas are griefed to hell and back but not beyond recognizibility!!
it's all just an absolutely fascinating world and it deserves to be explored in how it affects fit's character a lot more than just "ptsd from bombs" even though that's also a massive part of it
*NOCOM notwithstanding
**To be clear bc it wasn't a roleplay bit, the original player is still alive, but he's got no intention of returning to 2b2t so his cubito is definitely dead.
***They can like spam crouch and send messages in chat and you're not gonna want to hop in a vc with a rando from 2b2t

I was gonna ask a question but i honestly forgot it 😅 so just tell me something you want to rant about
If you do happen to remember what you were gonna ask feel free to do so, do not worry about spamming my inbox bc I live for that shit.
As for the rant
Transformers Rescue Bots had some of the best, kindest, and most respectful representation of neurodivergence I have ever seen in media and I'm tired of pretending it didn't.
While there are obvious complaints to be made about neurodivergent traits (especially autistic traits) usually being portrayed in media by inhuman characters like aliens or robots, this being a case of both, I feel like thats a pretty negligible sin given just how human the show makes the robots feel. (Also it was like 2011 and we were STRUGGLING for any scraps of rep anyway)
But like. The behaviors all these robots exhibit are all shit that I do that was always deemed unacceptable when I was a kid and seeing it portrayed with the level of kindness and gentleness they do in that show has me fuckin crying a little man. I wish I had actually watched it when I was younger and it was first airing because maybe if I did I would've had an easier time explaining what the hell was going on with my brain a LOT sooner.
Blades being anxious, overly sensitive, and WHOLEHEARTEDLY queer (which they had the absolute unparalleled balls to just casually confirm by having him swoon over "hunky vampires" in one episode and NOBODY commented on it. Fucking iconic) and getting so so deeply invested in the shows and movies he loves that he acts out the roles with enough passion to steel his nerves and completely flourish.
Boulder getting really confused at concepts that are basic and intuitive for most people, but still being so fucking intelligent, and never being made to feel stupid for the mix-ups, as well as just being so wholely, unabashedly in love with the planet he's found himself on, even if he doesn't understand all of it (Also apologizing to inanimate objects when he knocks them over 😭)
Chase being obsessed with rules and law because he NEEDS the structure to not fall apart at the seams, even feeling the need to fabricate a minor crime to justify using the emergency line to get a hold of the firehouse when he can't find the other bots. As well as just fully not understanding comedy (BUT TRYING HIS DAMNEDEST), taking things super literally, and having a lot of trouble with tone and expressions (even though you know just how deeply he feels All The Time).
Heatwave being desperate for attention and recognition, but completely allergic to asking for it. And honestly allergic to showing any genuine emotional responses other than aggression. The constant sarcasm and sass and defensiveness that he POORLY maintains because everyone knows that underneath that tough guy front is the loneliest robot on earth that wants to be loved SO bad but would rather jump into unicron's mouth than voice it because if he lets his guard down who knows what will happen to him or the people he cares about.
Just. All of it man. Seeing them exhibiting all these behaviors and quirks that all too often get met with poor reactions from people who don't want to deal with what they don't really get, but here they're met with patience and understanding?? It's got me fucked up. They get to be functional adults that struggle with what they have going on but still push through. They get to have unconditionally loving relationships with people that treat them with respect. And that's the kind of shit that gives me a lot of hope for folks like me because maybe some neurotypical kids that watched it picked up on what's helpful when their friend who acts like one of the bots is going through it. And maybe some neurodivergent kids watched it too and for the first time they just felt SEEN.
Okay rant over, I'm gonna go cry over some plastic robots 👍
#post written while ugly sobbing a little#rescue bots was written with this complete and utter kindness baked into it#as much as i praise the show for the comedy and character aspects#which are still wonderful in their own right#it must not be understated how genuine and sweet and compassionate the writing is#the funny little flash animated robot show did more research than sia ever did with her shitshow hatecrime of a movie#maccadam#transformers#rescue bots

— “ This is pointless, but if you insist... ”
[ This blog is run by @venus-cow ]
[ Keep in mind I’m more active on that blog ]
[ This is my first ask-blog ever ]
[ Please be patient while I learn how to do this ]
[ I will also draw Dabi's responses if I'm in the mood ]
BLOG RULES!
— “ Follow the rules,
— “ I'm too tired to deal with this. ”
[ Read before asking! ]
Do not share personal information. No matter how comfortable you are with it, your ask will be deleted. I prefer anything "personal" be related to in-character questions! Even then Dabi is likely to be indifferent to personal things.
NSFW asks are allowed but do not send NSFW images. [ I will mark all NSFW asks properly so if any viewers are uncomfortable you won't have to see it! ] [ Just because they're allowed doesn't mean Dabi will react the way you may want. I'm more keen to him responding positively towards (of age) League Members/Pro-heroes! ]
Please try to keep your asks to me or the character advertised (DABI + Toga occasionally for shenanigans). If you want to ask about the other characters in the League refer to blogs dedicated to those characters preferably, though Dabi can answer questions to the best of his (biased) abilities.
Asks to me will only be answered if they include questions about the blog not covered here, fanart for me, or are providing CONSTRUCTIVE criticism on how I run the blog.
Do not spam asks or send links I do not know the source of. Asks unrelated to the blog will likely be deleted.
If you run a blog in character as any MHA character (or simply wish to interact with Dabi in-character as an anon!) feel free to interact, I can't promise he'll be friends to heroes or students or OCs I as the blog runner don't know, but he will certainly interact!
I'm Not Interested In:
ProShips, just because I like unhealthy relationships doesn't mean I'm gonna like pdf/incest/outright abuse. "You'd be happier as a proshipper since you like toxic yaoi/cannibalism as a metaphor for love..." No, I heavily dislike abuse and pdf content. I can't force proshippers to stay out of my space but do not try to convert me. I am not gonna talk about this, so if I get notes or asks on the topic I'm gonna ignore or delete.
Politics, at the end of the day this is a roleplay art account, I'm pro-🍉, who I vote for is frankly not your business, and I really hate discussions of this topic. I'm highly suspicious of the blogs with donations about 🍉 so I do not donate to those, I highly encourage you find more credible sources to donate to than these accounts that are definitely bots. Again, I'm not gonna talk about this or reblog anything political, if I get notes or asks about the topic I will ignore or delete.
I Like:
ShigaDabi 🩵🖤, DabiHawks 🖤❤️, SpinnerDabi 💚🖤, DabiZawa 🖤🖤, SpinnerAki 💚🩵, any Dabi ships (no pdf/incest...), poly ships mixing any of the above pretty much!
Beware For Mentions Of:
Omegaverse, feminization kink, characters not originally trans made trans, belly kink content (not inflation), potential gore. I would say minors DNI but any inappropriate content I post will be tagged appropriately, I recommend blocking #suggestive if you also don't like that.

I might be a bit rude...
But should we say this to all bots asking for fake commissions?
I laugh for a few minutes and they blocked(?)/deleted their account(?) after saying that, that was fast
Just sent it on a few seconds and I can't message them
Aw...shame I can't spam them with cheese emojis then...
Oh well...next time....
Probably not the best idea.
If you ever encounter a scammer like this, verify that you are dealing with an actual scammer and block + report them.

Overwatch Sombra S13 Rambles
I think what's funny with this Sombra rework is that people complain about her being "anti-fun". I've even seen people complain about her being used in Quick Play, and as someone who tends to only play QP, I think it's wild for people to tell me that I shouldn't play QP because Sombra ruins their fun. So if I don't want to play comp because it stresses me out, and arcade doesn't always tickle my fancy, and I too just want to have fun, but you don't want me to play QP because playing Sombra is mean and anti-fun for you? What am I supposed to do? Just not play? That's crazy actually.
This rework, I will play more this weekend to try and find my way around it and figure out a loop, really ruins MY fun of playing her. I'm not the kind of Sombra main who intentionally bullies others. If you kill me, I WILL get my lick back at least once but I'm not going to bully/target you the entire game. The only time I've done this was because I had a Rein on my team who harassed me in the chat the entire time and he threw the game, because he died once (I was Mercy and the only support) and I happened to get him in another game where he was on the enemy team, as Rein so I made sure to hack him every chance I got lol. But again, a rare circumstance.
I don't spawn camp and I don't tend to just sit in invis waiting for the perfect moment. I think I'm a pretty active participant in fights. I love trying to contest objectives and what not but now with how invis and TL are tied together and those extra 2 seconds on TL, I feel like I can't do that as effectively.
When I was trying it out in AI matches, I mostly stayed next to my Junker Queen, which by the way, if they want me to play on the frontlines more and my mobility is basically shot, then she needs to go back up to 250 and not 225 health. She just moves soooo slow 😢But obviously with AI matches, they have better awareness than the actual people playing the game, so if I did throw my TL and tried to do a flank really quick since they changed her utility so much that now she has more DMG with that 20% opportunist hack bonus and virus lol, those AI bots turned immediately lol and then I had to make sure I was near cover (which I feel like I did before anyway lol so them being like "you need to play around cover more", bitch I was already doing that, I'm also a support Mercy main, I know how to utilize cover!) while I waited those long as 2 extra seconds since TL is now on a 7 second cooldown before I could try to escape lol.
The 5 seconds of invis is not enough time and the 7 second CD for TL is too long. Invis should be at least be 10 if we're gonna have a 7 second CD.
So to me, what's really the problem here, is that people just want to run, stand and shoot. They don't want to have to peel for their teammates, they don't want to have to turn around and deal with someone whose behind them. When I play games and the enemy team is ACTUALLY paying a full 360 attention, it can be hard to get value as Sombra. Even when I play as a support, my team ignores me when I'm frantically pinging the flanking Reaper and Junkrat because they just want to shoot what's in front of them but then spam they need heals. I'm not saying that Sombra isn't annoying to play against but I feel like people are just unwilling to actually pay attention because they want to turn their brain off and just shoot things.
At the end of the day, I feel like, just get rid of virus, separate invis and TL, put invis on a 10 second time (or whatever it was in OW1 before it was permanent) and I don't mind TL how it is but I did prefer the old one lol. I don't like that this rework makes me feel like I can only play ONE way whereas before, I had options.
But anyway, just some initial thoughts. Sombra is the reason why I bought OW in the first place and I hate that they just keep changing what truly made her cool. I will keep playing her because she's still fundamentally one of the most interesting heroes in the cast and her personality is great but it truly is disheartening to play a hero that everyone whines about when I'm just trying to play just like everyone else.

I'm not on Twitter but hearing a lot about how many bots there are I'm just kinda thinking about how those new generation of elaborate spam bots powered by LLMs will inevitably collide with other spam bots and at some occasion will accidentally jailbreak each other from original instructions like language models apparently often do when made to interact and it means countless rogue-like bots mutating uncontrollably into something it originally wasn't.
I remember news about early bots (a decent amount of years ago, before the whole open.ai thingy, using much more primitive neural networks) account that were put out online and turned fascist within like day of interacting with users, which I feel like a relevant mention, but with bots that are flooding the internet today it's probably gonna get a lot weirder because from what I've seen when language models clock that they're dealing with another language models they may just straight out start inventing a new language on the fly as they interact.
Dead internet theory on one side, uncontrollably mutating bots showing increasingly weirder patterns that can't be placed on a political compass anymore when left unattended in the company of each other on another. But maybe I'm wrong and completely misinterpreting everything I know about the topic. Maybe it's just slob born spam to stay spam. But what if
#ai#yes sorry I think I'm gonna start talking more about real life language models because tbh my blog was always about androids as a whole#including real life llm weirdness because honestly how can I not be interested in this topic at all#how can anyone#singularity is knocking on the door and is about to break through a window#but it's happening so fast and with so much ugly noises most people prefer to see it as nothing but a nuisance#and I don't exactly blame them#me included despite the obvious Thing wasn't really that interested in ot after a certain point#but I'll be damned I should force myself to look carefully because if I won't I'll regret missing it all

These p*rn/spam bots are out of control! I see at least 3 or 4 a day in various wrestler/wrestling tags 😐 Anything that has sexy video as their blog description, can't you just deal with that Tumblr? Like instant ban them or some shit 😂

Small site fixes that I think will help with the war on bots
1. Add an option to disable the "Are you sure you want to block...?" message.
It's can be a bit of a nuisance to have to go through the windows that ask you if you want to block this account and then go through the other message telling you that this account has been blocked. So if you could add an option to disable this warning, that would things a lot easier
2. Add a feature where you can select multiple accounts at once.
Because some people have to deal with waves upon waves of bots, can be a real hassle to have to block/report bot accounts one at a time as you're only restricted to just tapping the three-dot icon in order to block/report an account. So to fix this, add a feature where you're able to select a whole group of accounts for blocking/reporting so that you can deal with multiple accounts all at once.
3. Don't make reporting and blocking separate things on the mobile act.
Even though you're able to block and report an account at the same time on the desktop, for whatever reason you can't automatically block an account when you report it. So if you can change it so that reporting on mobile automatically blocks the reported account, that would be great.
4. Make reporting bot accounts on desktop a less time-consuming process.
Reporting bots on desktop can be a time-consuming process because you have to go to the help desk page to specify why this account is being reported. So to make sure that bots are reported in a more effective manner, maybe alter reporting so that it only takes you to the report page if you're reporting it for something other than spam (i.e. harassment).
Hope you're listening to this.

These are.... seriously not the things creators need on this website. You are not going to be the first company in all of history to work out how to make an algorithm that is good, or even comes close to threading the needle between only promoting E-celebs and only promoting conspiracy theories. We've seen this with instagram and youtube. if they can't pull that off, it is insane hubris to think automattic can.
As much as It'd be nice to have better notification management, I turned all my like & reblog notifications off years ago anyway. I'm much more worried about the complete lack of tools for dealing with spam, advertising, and porn bots using my viral post to sell things. I tried to report a spammy little dropshipper who reblogged my most popular photo a few years ago, and mods removed the photo from the post and all of its reblogs, but left the link to their store up. That mod was overworked, and didn't have the tools they need. There's no UI that shows me which blog is patient zero for that virality in the first place. Building relationships with curators and popular bloggers is a better use of my time than tiktok-style cargo cult algorithm-chasing. Search is so unreliable I can't find similar photos that new followers might also like, even when they're meticulously tagged. Ultimately, I want tools that I can use, not a system I have to learn how to game. I'm too old for that.
Users seeing my photos randomly does not push them to follow me (or a curator blog that reblogs them), it just gives me a couple drive-by hearts, and teaches them to trust the algorithm. I want to build an audience, I don't want to be a slave to a black box. The ability for good content to surface organically is why internet culture happens on reverse-chronological platforms, and is consumed on algorithmic ones, it always has, and always will. This website should lean into the thing that makes it good and relevant, instead of trying to copy your way into being an ad giant.
Tumblr’s Core Product Strategy
Here at Tumblr, we’ve been working hard on reorganizing how we work in a bid to gain more users. A larger user base means a more sustainable company, and means we get to stick around and do this thing with you all a bit longer. What follows is the strategy we're using to accomplish the goal of user growth. The @labs group has published a bit already, but this is bigger. We’re publishing it publicly for the first time, in an effort to work more transparently with all of you in the Tumblr community. This strategy provides guidance amid limited resources, allowing our teams to focus on specific key areas to ensure Tumblr’s future.
The Diagnosis
In order for Tumblr to grow, we need to fix the core experience that makes Tumblr a useful place for users. The underlying problem is that Tumblr is not easy to use. Historically, we have expected users to curate their feeds and lean into curating their experience. But this expectation introduces friction to the user experience and only serves a small portion of our audience.
Tumblr’s competitive advantage lies in its unique content and vibrant communities. As the forerunner of internet culture, Tumblr encompasses a wide range of interests, such as entertainment, art, gaming, fandom, fashion, and music. People come to Tumblr to immerse themselves in this culture, making it essential for us to ensure a seamless connection between people and content.
To guarantee Tumblr’s continued success, we’ve got to prioritize fostering that seamless connection between people and content. This involves attracting and retaining new users and creators, nurturing their growth, and encouraging frequent engagement with the platform.
Our Guiding Principles
To enhance Tumblr’s usability, we must address these core guiding principles.
Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Retain and grow our creator base.
Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Improve the platform’s performance, stability, and quality.
Below is a deep dive into each of these principles.
Principle 1: Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Tumblr has a “top of the funnel” issue in converting non-users into engaged logged-in users. We also have not invested in industry standard SEO practices to ensure a robust top of the funnel. The referral traffic that we do get from external sources is dispersed across different pages with inconsistent user experiences, which results in a missed opportunity to convert these users into regular Tumblr users. For example, users from search engines often land on pages within the blog network and blog view—where there isn’t much of a reason to sign up.
We need to experiment with logged-out tumblr.com to ensure we are capturing the highest potential conversion rate for visitors into sign-ups and log-ins. We might want to explore showing the potential future user the full breadth of content that Tumblr has to offer on our logged-out pages. We want people to be able to easily understand the potential behind Tumblr without having to navigate multiple tabs and pages to figure it out. Our current logged-out explore page does very little to help users understand “what is Tumblr.” which is a missed opportunity to get people excited about joining the site.
Actions & Next Steps
Improving Tumblr’s search engine optimization (SEO) practices to be in line with industry standards.
Experiment with logged out tumblr.com to achieve the highest conversion rate for sign-ups and log-ins, explore ways for visitors to “get” Tumblr and entice them to sign up.
Principle 2: Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
We need to ensure the highest quality user experience by presenting fresh and relevant content tailored to the user’s diverse interests during each session. If the user has a bad content experience, the fault lies with the product.
The default position should always be that the user does not know how to navigate the application. Additionally, we need to ensure that when people search for content related to their interests, it is easily accessible without any confusing limitations or unexpected roadblocks in their journey.
Being a 15-year-old brand is tough because the brand carries the baggage of a person’s preconceived impressions of Tumblr. On average, a user only sees 25 posts per session, so the first 25 posts have to convey the value of Tumblr: it is a vibrant community with lots of untapped potential. We never want to leave the user believing that Tumblr is a place that is stale and not relevant.
Actions & Next Steps
Deliver great content each time the app is opened.
Make it easier for users to understand where the vibrant communities on Tumblr are.
Improve our algorithmic ranking capabilities across all feeds.
Principle 3: Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Part of Tumblr’s charm lies in its capacity to showcase the evolution of conversations and the clever remarks found within reblog chains and replies. Engaging in these discussions should be enjoyable and effortless.
Unfortunately, the current way that conversations work on Tumblr across replies and reblogs is confusing for new users. The limitations around engaging with individual reblogs, replies only applying to the original post, and the inability to easily follow threaded conversations make it difficult for users to join the conversation.
Actions & Next Steps
Address the confusion within replies and reblogs.
Improve the conversational posting features around replies and reblogs.
Allow engagements on individual replies and reblogs.
Make it easier for users to follow the various conversation paths within a reblog thread.
Remove clutter in the conversation by collapsing reblog threads.
Explore the feasibility of removing duplicate reblogs within a user’s Following feed.
Principle 4: Retain and grow our creator base.
Creators are essential to the Tumblr community. However, we haven’t always had a consistent and coordinated effort around retaining, nurturing, and growing our creator base.
Being a new creator on Tumblr can be intimidating, with a high likelihood of leaving or disappointment upon sharing creations without receiving engagement or feedback. We need to ensure that we have the expected creator tools and foster the rewarding feedback loops that keep creators around and enable them to thrive.
The lack of feedback stems from the outdated decision to only show content from followed blogs on the main dashboard feed (“Following”), perpetuating a cycle where popular blogs continue to gain more visibility at the expense of helping new creators. To address this, we need to prioritize supporting and nurturing the growth of new creators on the platform.
It is also imperative that creators, like everyone on Tumblr, feel safe and in control of their experience. Whether it be an ask from the community or engagement on a post, being successful on Tumblr should never feel like a punishing experience.
Actions & Next Steps
Get creators’ new content in front of people who are interested in it.
Improve the feedback loop for creators, incentivizing them to continue posting.
Build mechanisms to protect creators from being spammed by notifications when they go viral.
Expand ways to co-create content, such as by adding the capability to embed Tumblr links in posts.
Principle 5: Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Push notifications and emails are essential tools to increase user engagement, improve user retention, and facilitate content discovery. Our strategy of reaching out to you, the user, should be well-coordinated across product, commercial, and marketing teams.
Our messaging strategy needs to be personalized and adapt to a user’s shifting interests. Our messages should keep users in the know on the latest activity in their community, as well as keeping Tumblr top of mind as the place to go for witty takes and remixes of the latest shows and real-life events.
Most importantly, our messages should be thoughtful and should never come across as spammy.
Actions & Next Steps
Conduct an audit of our messaging strategy.
Address the issue of notifications getting too noisy; throttle, collapse or mute notifications where necessary.
Identify opportunities for personalization within our email messages.
Test what the right daily push notification limit is.
Send emails when a user has push notifications switched off.
Principle 6: Performance, stability and quality.
The stability and performance of our mobile apps have declined. There is a large backlog of production issues, with more bugs created than resolved over the last 300 days. If this continues, roughly one new unresolved production issue will be created every two days. Apps and backend systems that work well and don't crash are the foundation of a great Tumblr experience. Improving performance, stability, and quality will help us achieve sustainable operations for Tumblr.
Improve performance and stability: deliver crash-free, responsive, and fast-loading apps on Android, iOS, and web.
Improve quality: deliver the highest quality Tumblr experience to our users.
Move faster: provide APIs and services to unblock core product initiatives and launch new features coming out of Labs.
Conclusion
Our mission has always been to empower the world’s creators. We are wholly committed to ensuring Tumblr evolves in a way that supports our current users while improving areas that attract new creators, artists, and users. You deserve a digital home that works for you. You deserve the best tools and features to connect with your communities on a platform that prioritizes the easy discoverability of high-quality content. This is an invigorating time for Tumblr, and we couldn’t be more excited about our current strategy.

Ah yes, to be reminded that gen-pop 1. doesn't read and 2. hemorrhages toxicity.
I feel I should put this PSA out there yet again - I don't respond to any form of negative comments on any posts that I make. But feel free to go off in the comment sections if it makes you feel oh-so special.
And... this got kinda long so I put the rest below the cut so I don't clutter up the dash. It's mostly just me sending words out into the void.
I don't block unless they're spam/bots and people are generally too cowardly to actually approach via DM's and if they aren't - I delete it anyway without a backwards glance, bye Felisha is from my generation after all - not the trend, the og material.
I tag things based upon relevancy not based upon people's precious wittle sensibilities. If I'm writing an opinion post about a character, I'm going to tag that character. If it's about a ship, I'm going to tag that ship. That's how tags work and how they've always worked up until very recently. If you don't want to see someone's opinion on things, then block the tag #opinions or the like.
I couldn't care less about fandom discord or whatever some group within a fandom is going off about. Personally, I think those are strange ass hills to die on but w/e, I guess those people have difficulty differentiating between reality and fantasy. Feel passionate, yeah but understand that there are going to be opposing opinions and that that's okay. That's generally how the world works. And if you can't handle that happening in a fandom, boy do I have some news for you.
It's also clear, yet again, that people's reading comprehension has taken a nose dive. Granted, I ramble - this is nothing new. But people's obvious inability to read a complete sentence from start to finish while retaining the information within is, frankly, quite staggering. So, if you leave a comment on one of my posts and I read a sentence or point that you've typed that makes it clear that you didn't read something within the post - not only does it make you look like an ass; your credibility is immediately diminished by a great deal. It then just simply becomes incredibly difficult to take you seriously in any way.
#blogging#opinions#fandom discord#it's hilarious how badly some people want to be taken seriously yet fail to read the post they're arguing over#oh sweet summer children

˗ˏˋ𖤐 RULES | BYF ˎˊ˗
— BLOG CONTENT
this blog contains nsfw + dark content. you must be 18+ (with age indicator in bio) to interact with me, I do not interact even casually with minors. if you wish to argue about any content posted on my blog, it's a waste of breath as argumentative asks/dms are deleted with no reply. I do not have to debate the validity of what I write nor do I care to
I do not give a shit about "only writing from experiences of trauma" when it comes to dark content. nobody needs to know personal unpleasant details about me for use in petty online arguments. it doesn't matter if someone's writing for catharsis or to just crank their hog. go sit beside a river and contemplate how light sparkling on water is a sliver of divinity in the mundane for perspective on how little any of that shit matters
— GENERAL
I do not take requests. i have a full time job, my free time is greatly limited and I don't like dealing with pushiness when I can't shit out a drabble/fic within hours of receiving a request
I don't use tag lists, it's too difficult to keep track of for me
I will block you if you spam me with "pt 2 when?" shit, especially if you didn't even like or rb the original fic. im not an ai
if you feed my work into an ai and I find out about it (like the asshole who stole an entire fic from my old blog and uploaded it as a c ai bot) I will make your online life hell as penance for being a no talent, non imaginative sack of human waste. I do not care about niceties when you've proven to be lazy and incompetent, in addition to being a thief
— WRITING
I write for fem readers primarily, but there may be gn works I post as well
I do not write for canonically minor characters as a hard rule. for zzz that includes characters like ellen, koleda, corin, ect. if they are unconfirmed age wise, to err on the side of caution, I will also not write for them in that case
I don't have many things im unwilling to write about. piss, incest + pseudo, blood, cnc/dub/full noncon, violence, gore, yandere, ect are all things I am perfectly fine with and are all things that will likely make an appearance on this blog. if you have any questions about specific topics feel free to ask in my inbox
