Who are your 3 favourite & least favourite Harry Potter Characters, and why? And what are your favourite fanon ships?

My 3 favourite characters:

1. Fred & George Weasley - I’ve loved both Fred & George since the first time I read the books (although I think George is my favourite of the two) so it’s hard to choose one or the other for the top spot. I love how they genuinely care about Harry and they treat him like a brother. I also think that they’ve got to be really smart to pull off everything they’ve gone, in terms of pranks & the joke shop. And also, despite them teasing their siblings throughout the series, I do think that they really do care about them in their own way (e.g in CoS when they’re attempting to cheer Ginny up in their own way, even if it doesn’t end up working).

2. Ron Weasley - I love his personality in the books and that fact that Ron is always ready to throw hands for people he cares about. I always get so annoyed that Hermione got Ron’s line in PoA (“if you want to kill Harry, you have to kill us to!”), because it shows just how selfless Ron is as a character. Whilst, yes, he doesn’t always have the best reactions to things (which I think was heavily to do with his jealousy and confidence issues) he always comes back to Harry and Hermione in the end. He’s also a super brave character too (standing up to Sirius, going to Aragog) as well as his care towards those close to him. For example, in DH (the book), when the trio are in Malfoy Manor, Ron is screaming for them to let Hermione go, to take him instead. Ron defender til the day I die.

3. Remus Lupin - Now, this one can be a bit iffy because I prefer canon Remus over fanon (which is very popular). Canon Remus is honestly a bit of a coward, and I love that. Unlike his friends, he isn’t very confident, he doesn’t seem to have been popular and, as a teen, probably struggled making friends outside of the Marauders. Honestly, that’s so relatable to me as a person who has struggled with my confidence and making friends. Another thing is that Remus had been betrayed and has lost so much on top of the self hatred towards his being a werewolf. Again, canonically, Remus isn’t the smartest of the Marauders and had to work harder (than say James or Sirius) to feel like he deserves to be in Hogwarts. Overall, to me, his canon character is pretty relatable and it’s one of the reasons he’s one of my favourites.

Honorary Mentions: Luna, Tonks, Harry, Hermione, Percy

My 3 least favourites:

1. Severus Snape - I have so much to say about Snape. He’s a grown man who holds onto a childhood grudge even though the one he holds a grudge against has been dead for over ten years. He then proceeds to take this out on said dead man’s son for like 6 years because they look alike. He’s also a Death Eater who only turned to Dumbledore when Lily’s life was threatened, even though he was the one who gave Voldemort the prophecy which led to all of this. And speaking of Lily, he was not in love with her, he was fucking obsessed with her. In the books (can’t remember which one, although I’m pretty sure it’s DH), he finds a letter from Lily to Sirius with a picture of the Potters. He tears the part of the letter which Lily had written ‘my love’ or something along those lines (it’s been a while since I read DH, and I don’t have the book with me right now to check) and also tore the photo of the Potters in half. This meant that he kept Lily’s part of the picture and just tossed the part with Harry and James to the side, because he doesn’t care about either of them. I’m gonna stop my Snape rant here, but you get the gist.

2. Draco Malfoy - I really don’t like the little ferret for multiple reasons. One of which is his bullying of, not just the trio, but many others as well. One issue I have with him is that he wishes harm and death upon Hermione multiple times in CoS (wishing death upon her) and GoF (wishing harm upon her during the Quidditch World Cup), just because she’s a muggleborn. Also the way he insults and mocks the Weasley’s to the point (e.g. Weasley Is Our King) where the Weasley siblings start throwing hands. Here, George alongside Harry in the OotP book comes to mind. He’s also quite the coward in the end, during DH and HBP, when he’s realised that being a Death Eater ain’t really what he thought it would’ve been like. Once again, ending my rant here.

3. Dolores Umbridge - I think this one’s quite self explanatory. I can’t stand her.

- Ronarry - I know they’re just best friends, however I am a sucker for best friends to lovers

- Fremione - It’s not my fave ship for either of ship really but the idea of it gets me (best friend’s older brother, prankster x bookworm, etc)

- Linny - They’re just neat, I just like them.

- Perciver - I love the vibes of these two being together.

What are your favourite aspects of Bellamort? What made you ship it in the first place?

How wonderful to log back in on Tumblr and find one of your asks! Even though it is absolutely not an easy one. How - where - do I even begin?

I guess that what attracted me first, back in 2013, was probably Bellatrix. I have always been fascinated with villains, especially women, especially ones who fall under the "wicked witch, but complex" trope. But Bellatrix is so much more. She is still one of my favourite characters of all time, years later, and I don't need to tell you just how wonderful she is.

And, of course, there's Voldemort, whom I was fascinated with even before Bella was introduced in the series. You know, it was already apparent to me, as an 11-12-year-old back when I read the books for the first time, that they were lovers. Maybe I didn't grasp all of their complexities straight away, but it just seemed so obvious to me. I was shocked when I went online for the first time and people were fervently denying this. I'm actually mad that it took Cursed Child (which I don't really like, at all) to make it canon when it was clearly in the author's intentions from the start.

It was, honest to God, the only romance in the entire HP universe I was interested in. One thing I liked about the saga was that it didn't contain romance, it was clearly about another kind of love (friendship, loyalty, family). BUT I couldn't get enough of Bellamort.

I guess what I liked most is that they are the opposite of mundane. I love the complexity of the characters, their intrinsic tragedy. Voldemort will never truly recognize what they have as love, even in the best-written fanfictions, he is only IC, to me, when he denies his feelings - it's not love, it's adoration; it's not faith, it's loyalty. Dumbledore says that Tom Riddle could have been saved if he had been loved... but he was, loved. And it was the kind of love that corrupts, not the one that saves (Bella, in this case). I love that it makes both of them more complicated, deeper characters.

I also think that part of their beauty is the mystery, the fact that we get to fill in the gaps. I have at least 10 different versions of Bellamort, from the coldest, most heartless, soul-wrenching ones, to the sweeter ones (if the word "sweet" could ever be used to describe these two).

I love their passion, their ruthlessness, the the-devil-and-his-witch dynamic they have, the obsession, the scream. The hope that even the darkest, most tortured souls can find solace (in each other), even if for a few seconds. And that's just the canon stuff.

Is it toxic? Sure. Are they both cunts? Oh, yeah. I love them for it. I also (and I'm a bit of a sadist, but this is fiction, who cares) love the Hurt/Comfort dynamic of their relationship.

Is the 25-year gap dubious when she's 17 and he's 42? Yeah.

I don't believe in the "love at first sight" version of Bellamort - I believe he was fascinated and impressed with her, enough to take her under his wing, his first apprentice in the Dark Arts. And then, then she grew on him, day after day after day. She becomes familiar, and he finds himself knowing more and more about her, wanting to know more and more about her. That's who Bella is to him: the one who always stays. Everyone leaves, no one is worthy of trust. But Bella always comes through for him. She accepts to be sent into Hell for him, and then she discovers that Hell is just a place without him. He screams at the end of DH because, when she falls, she's failed him. His last, best lieutenant, the one who always found her way back to him, is dead.

She made herself indispensable to him, without him realizing it for a long time. When he does, he's powerless. Sure, he humiliates her, perhaps treats her cruelly even, but I am 100% sure that he always goes back to comfort her later. When the time comes to actually hurt her (= Harry & Co. escape from Malfoy Manor), she is unscathed. Lucius, poor thing, still carries signs of his punishment weeks after that. And this is Voldemort. I am always perplexed when people say "oh, how can he love her if he does A, B, C"... You guys do realize that we are talking about Voldemort here? And that is the whole point. Also, Bella wasn't exactly a kitten, was she?

What else? They clearly have great sex. I said what I said.

What made you ship it?

They're the lead couple of the series, aren't they? It's the central love story and there are so many wonderful moments- yes, cute ones, but also I love all their conflict and differences and friendly bickering unfriendly arguing. They are the main romance of a huge 7 book series so of course you have to ship them.

(....especially if you're a nerdy, bookish, average-looking girl who sees herself as Hermione, which of course maaaaaany of us did. Hermione Granger was our Holden Caulfield. Anyway, I have since humbled myself and realised NO WAY am I smart enough. Or maybe I'm a grown-up now and we never see her become one?).

I have a very clear memory of sitting on a coach from York to Whitby, the Summer DH came out, making up how Romione officially got together after the Battle of Hogwarts. I didn't know what fanfic was at the time and would have been scared to commit my little scene to the page. Though I still remember bits of it now!

What are your favourite things about the ship?

"Ah well. Worth a try, but you were a bit obvious," "Well, next time you can show me how it's done, Master of Mystery!"

That whole scene in OotP when Harry is telling them about kissing Cho. I tried to copy some of it here but there is too much which is hilarious, sweet and generally amazing. Some subtle, some not subtle. It is GOLD.

I looooove going back and spotting all the hints (Harry certainly didn't) and arguing about when they first liked each other etc.

The narrative voice is so so funny about Romione. Again, too many quotes to copy out here but the narrator is the sassiest one of the Trio for sure.

How JKR avoided the Main Boy/ Main Girl romance. It's never on the cards, and I love that.

Romione has everything! Conflict- check. Pining- check. Cuteness- check. Humour- check. Best friends- check. Characters who are baffled by each other- check. Danger- check. Honestly what more could you want in a ship?

When Hermione hits Malfoy, storms out of Transfiguration, and sneaks out to get the cloak. Ron is awed, and Hermione is flattered. Aaaw.

Hey, so I noticed you said Draco was one of your favourite characters and outta curiosity what do you like about Draco? Tumblr and fanfics seem to have this love for him that I’m trying to understand but I’m a confused. I honestly just want someone to explain it to me without getting upset. Personally I never found him to be an interesting character, just the usual high school bully who’s racist and flaunts his parents money and status like he’s earned it himself. I’ve been trying to read more fanfics with him being paired up with him and Hermione or even Harry and Ginny to get a better perspective of what some people are seeing that I’m not but whenever I read a story of him it’s not true to character. They change his personality completely and make him out to he this lonely saint who’s a got this sexy bad boy side (they give him personality traits from Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny) and usually drop dead gorgeous. I don’t get it. For me it’s just that if you have to change a character’s personality so much why not just invent a OC? He was never brave, loyal, compassionate, or kind. He was selfish, arrogant, coward, and pompous. The only people he cared about where his parents everyone else were just chess pieces for his plan of survival, even his best friends. Fans usually talk about him crying the toilet but that was because he was scared for his parents life, his is own life, and the task he was handed. He wasn’t a killer and I’ll give him that but I don’t think he was a nice person. He didn’t think about his peers when he brought Death Eaters into the school or when he was about to use Cruico on Harry. I think we saw a glimpse of what he would do in power when Dolores gave it to him. If Voldemort won the war and he was put in a high rank Draco would flaunt it around and hurt innocent people, he wouldn’t kill but he would hurt them. I find the fanart confusing too because he was never good looking, I know people automatically think of the stereotypical “blond hair blue eyed hunk”, but none of his features portrayed in the art are true to character. I feel like fanartist are taking Tom’s good looks and combining it with Draco’s blonde hair. Why can’t he just look like a regular blonde guy? Why does he have to be redeemed to look like some type of sex god? The fanart I see of Ron and Harry is usually geeky scrawny duo, which I get because that’s what they’re like in the book. Hermione on the other hand is usually decent looking or average unless she’s paired with Draco then she gets transformed into a Greek or African goddess. I just don’t get it! When she’s paired with Ron or Harry she’s depicted as a nerdy average looking girl but when she’s with Draco or another Slytherin … wow complete transformation. Are they trying to say unless she didn’t look like a Greek or African goddess the Slytherins wouldn’t be interested? She would have to completely change her appearance to get the Slytherin boys attention? The only ones that would fall for her as she truly looks is Ron and sometimes Harry? I find that insulting to women. I get it if you want a redemption Slytherin character but why not give that to Theo or Blaise? We don’t know much of them and when you read about them you can actually say it might be true to character instead of completely changing a canon characters personality so much to make them seem like a whole new character or morphing multiple canon character’s personality to make Draco 2.0.

yes, draco is one of my favorite characters. not because of what he did or how he acted in the books, but because of where he could go post DH. my preference is a post-war au where we get to see him grow and change and choose to be a better person. but that's because i *LIKE* redemption stories. in fact i would even go so far as to say i prefer them. give me a character who is the worst of the worst, someone mean and horrible and unlikeable, break them down until they're at rock bottom and watch as they put themselves back together better the second time around

you say you've read fics but you feel like his character is changed? that's probably valid... but also you have to remember that dramione has been around since like 2001. no seriously. dramione fics have been on live journal since prisoner of azkaban came out. TWENTY YEARS AGO. i read my first dramione fanfic in seventh grade in 2003.. so you have to remember that there is a lot fandom has adopted and adapted in that amount of time and things that are considered staples of the genre if you will. just like how we (in our little hinny corner of the internet) have headcanons and dynamics that are considered universal, dramione has the same thing.

"fans usually talk about him crying in the toilet but that was because he was scared for his parents life, his own life, and the task he was handed." you are almost there, you are so close to getting the point. just follow that line of thinking just a little bit further... half blood prince/deathly hallows is the START of his redemption. not the end of it. at least in my view. draco gets his first real taste of the ideology he has bought into in half-blood prince when he realizes his family's name or his money or his status no longer grants him favor. in fact he's pretty much a pariah, in the inner circle of the death eaters for his father getting caught, and in the outer realms of wizard society for his father being outed as a death eater. this is the BEGINNING of his arc. if you look at deathly hallows!draco you see a kid who can't make up his mind which side he wants to be on. that year during the war he witnessed unspeakable atrocities (countless people tortured & murdered in and out of school, classmates held prisoner in his cellar, the muggle studies professor eaten alive on his dining room table) and if you take all of that and put it into a scared seventeen year old (no matter his house alignment) you end up with a person who has no ideals left. they deal in realities. we see this when harry, ron, & hermione get snatched. draco is visibly and clearly reluctant to identify them. he knows its them. WE KNOW HE KNOWS. but maybe he's reached a point where he doesn't want to see any more torture and murder. maybe he's reached a point where he thinks harry is the only one left who can defeat voldemort and he doesn't want to be the guy responsible for putting an end to the rebellion. then during the BoH.. maybe draco sees the writing on the wall, he sees and thinks that voldemort has won, that's why he takes crabbe and goyle into the room of requirement to look for harry, because if voldemort is going to reign supreme, he sure as hell is going to try and find favor. the point is, you can add whatever context you want for his actions. in my opinion, by the end of deathly hallows, grey isn't even a character alignment anymore for draco, its a cold hard truth. in his mind, there is no overarching good in the world, there is only what people are and are not willing to do to each other in the name of power. that's an excellent jumping off point to try and put together an enemies to lovers, redemption story romance.

i don't have much to say about the fanart piece except for there is no superiority when it comes to the way we create and consume fan works. full stop. no one is better or worse for interpreting the character a certain way. pretty hermione, ugly hermione, harmony, dramione, romione, it doesn't matter. no one gets to say what is right or wrong when it comes to enjoying fiction. because at the end of the day, draco and hermione are not real. they are tools for a narrative. they are make believe. they can be whatever someone wants them to be.

the last point i want to address is this: "i get if you want a redemption slytherin character but why not give that to theo or blaise?" blaise had exactly one speaking scene in the entire series and theo had none. what sort of redemption do they have to earn?? that's the whole point of redemption stories, someone gets redeemed and who has more to atone and apologize for than draco?

if you really are interested in a draco redemption story i have several recs that actually address and work through his school bully/junior death eater phase and show him coming out of it as a much more humble and well adjusted individual. i have my reasons for liking him paired with hermione but those are personal to me and since you didn't really ask i won't get into it just now.

Sekai characters' Roblox styles and gameplay habits!

Over the past few way too long, I've become. Somewhat of a Roblox goblin, especially when it comes to avatar making. So I'd like to share with you the kind of avatars each Sekai character would have (two examples for everyone except Tsukasa and Mafuyu, who only have one) and the kind of games they'd probably play.

LEO/NEED

ICHIKA

Big fan of 2.0 and those 3D anime girl heads with the fuckhuge eyes. Dresses all her avatars in school-themed outfits. Plays a variety of games, but mostly "mundane" roleplay games (such as Bloxburg and Brookhaven).

SAKI

LOVECORE LOVECORE LOVECORE. Does the 1.0 legs on otherwise 3.0 body thing. Almost exclusively plays RoBeats and those Friday Night Funkin' clone games. (i am pushing the pan saki agenda.)

HONAMI

Very red. Will wear just about anything as long as it has a red and white colour scheme. Doesn't actively play Roblox, only bought the 800 Robux pack because Ichika told her it was "embarrassing" when they played games together and she was a bacon.

SHIHO

Barb model. Basically only plays Da Hood and fashion runway games. Does not play games with the rest of her unit (when asked why, gets defensive and says she just doesn't wanna play Roblox). Gets genuinely upset whenever she plays a game for the first time and it doesn't let her use R6. Commissions art of her avatar and specifically requests the artist to make them buff.

MORE MORE JUMP

MINORI

Pastel preppy. Mostly plays Bloxburg, Adopt Me, MM2 and preppy hangout games. Makes TikToks where she shows off trades she makes.

HARUKA

Black clothes, short brown hair and penguin hats. Plays the same games that were on the front page 5 years ago and gets sad when any of them lose popularity or get deleted.

AIRI

All of her outfits are Halloween-themed (mostly witches, though she does have a good deal of vampire ones). To her, it's the single most important day on the calendar. Extremely stereotypical Royale High player.

SHIZUKU

Black and red edgelord, though much more in the "demon queen who wants to take over the world" way than the "haha I wear a shirt with a cropped anime ahegao girl and some Japanese text that doesn't actually mean anything" way. Also an avid Royale High player, but slightly less stereotypical than Airi.

VIVID BAD SQUAD

KOHANE

Animal-themed softie. (Honestly these fits are super cute.) Plays vibe games and "soft" roleplay games, as well as whatever An's playing (so mostly Da Hood).

AN

One of THOSE annoying rich kid Rogangsters/CnPs. Also one of those toxic assholes you meet in Da Hood/club and vibe games. Unironically goes on digital dates with Kohane in games.

AKITO

Goth weeb. Makes "uwu me and my partner are so cute in roblox" TikToks with Toya. Mostly plays Da Hood, Royale High and anime fighting/roleplay games. Probably does Genshin cosplays as well let's be real.

TOYA

Another one of those types who have no idea how to make R6 work and think R15 is the devil, except he's a softie who looks like he came out of an R63 animation instead of a DH-obsessed barb like Shiho. Plays dance games that allow you to use R6, as well as whatever Akito's playing (but only if he wants to make a video with him, he stays away from games that force R15 at all costs unless Akito needs him there for whatever reason).

WONDERLANDS X SHOWTIME

TSUKASA

Only has one outfit because he doesn't go into games where people care and only even bought it in the first place because he got mad at people at school for bullying him for being a bacon. A veritable god at simulators.

EMU

A rare non-toxic rich kid. Her outfits are all super pink and covered in bunnies. Has TONS of lim faces (SSHF and the butterfly ones are just her favourites). Plays EVERYTHING that gets on the front page (and enjoys most of it too).

NENE

An edgy weeb similar to Akito, but one I'd personally argue is a lot cooler than him. Almost exclusively plays anime fighting games, though she'll also join Tsukasa regularly. (Fun fact: I liked the avatar on the left with the cat shirt so much I bought it and used it for a few days.)

RUI

One of those dudes who only wears girl outfits. Will wear literally anything as long as it's feminine, has a consistent colour scheme and looks good with the makeup faces and mage anims. Plays every game that gets stereotyped as an "ODer game" in the hopes that someone will think he's a hot girl IRL and ask for his social media.

NIGHTCORD AT 25:00

KANADE

No particular style. Only buys clothes she sees other people wearing in games and only does vague searches for keywords or colours for accessories (such as "eye" or "black"). All her avatars (even besides these ones) wear hoodies and have extra eyes somewhere on them. Plays a lot of PVP and building games.

MAFUYU

Only has one avatar, because she doesn't care enough to make more. Only plays front-page games. Extremely basic.

ENA

Yet ANOTHER R6 obsessor who doesn't know how to style it, except this time she's a self-proclaimed "emo" who doesn't even know it was a music scene first and the fashion came later. Plays drawing games, 2D fandom roleplay games and Booth Plaza/Rate My Avatar.

MIZUKI

UwU kawaii pastel pink and rainbow softie, who also probably uses this to hide the fact they're actually super toxic. Plays dress-up and hangout games.

About Remadora

When I say I really hate the HP fandom, I'm talking about the "fans" that hate everything about the saga, but still having Harry Potter accounts. They change the original story, claim that fanonical facts are canon, and launch hatred and death threats at those who simply like HARRY POTTER JUST THE WAY IT IS. Yes, I'm mostly talking about Marauders fans, which I joined after reading the books because I thought it would be interesting and funny. I suddenly realized how toxic and hateful that fandom was, it's like a cult dedicated to deifying Remus, Sirius, James and Regulus, and it seems that hating Snape, Dumbledore, and Remadora is a requirement to be a part of it.

At the beginning I used to consider Wolfstar as something funny, a bromance, it never bothered me, I mean... every fandom has fanon ships and I respect that, but the way they always hate Remadora and their shippers is something that MUST stop.

"You see!" said a strained voice. Tonks was glaring at Lupin. "She still wants to marry him, even though he's been bitten! She doesn't care!"

"It's different," said Lupin, barely moving his lips and looking suddenly tense. "Bill will not be a full werewolf. The cases are completely -"

"But I don't care either, I don't care!" said Tonks, seizing the front ofLupin's robes and shaking them. "I've told you a million times. . . ." And the meaning of Tonks's Patronus and her mouse-colored hair, and the reason she had come running to find Dumbledore when she had heard a rumor someone had been attacked by Greyback, all suddenly became clear to Harry; it had not been Sirius that Tonks had fallen in love with after all."

"And I've told you a million times," said Lupin, refusing to meet her eyes,staring at the floor, "that I am too old for you, too poor . . . too dangerous. . ."

When I read this part of the HBP I realized that Remadora was my favorite Harry Potter ship. Of course I wasn't aware of the death threats I'd receive later. I've read some "reasons" why some fans hate Remadora.

"Tonks forced him!"

We all know how insecure Remus was. I don't have to explain what's written in Wizarding World (Pottermore). This is the Remus bio:

Well, we can read that Remus was really attracted to Dora.

"Remus, so often melancholy and lonely, was first amused, then impressed, then seriously smitten by the young witch. He had never fallen in love before. If it had happened in peacetime, Remus would have simply taken himself off to a new place and a new job, so that he did not have to endure the pain of watching Tonks fall in love with a handsome, young wizard in the Auror office, which was what he expected to happen. However, this was war; they were both needed in the Order of the Phoenix, and nobody knew what the next day would bring. Remus felt justified in remaining exactly where he was, keeping his feelings to himself but secretly rejoicing every time somebody paired him with Tonks on some overnight mission".

This is so sad and cute, and that's undeniable. I cried when I read it. If someone still thinking that Dora forced Remus to marry her after reading this paragraph... I mean... they're probably talking about another book series.

"The age gap!"

I'm so satisfied to know that some Remadora shippers have explained this. When it's about a kid and an adult... OF COURSE IS HORRENDOUS! Because children are not physically and mentally prepared to have romantic relationships. Wizards are legally adults at 17, REMUS MET TONKS WHEN SHE WAS 21!

I mean, many old people abuses of young people innocence, or something. But we all know that Remus wasn't one of those! He really loved Tonks, and that's canon. I don't know what's doing in the fandom people who denies canon facts.

Remus and Tonks were two physically, mentally, and legally adults loving each other.

"Remus didn't love her!"

He was an introvert, Tonks was an extrovert, she made his life better. And of course, I loved the way he introduced himself when he was trying to prove he wasn't a Death Eater:

"I am Remus John Lupin, werewolf, sometimes known as Moony, one of the four creators of the Marauder's Map, married to Nymphadora, usually known as Tonks, and I taught you how to produce a Patronus, Harry, which takes the form of a stag." (Remus Lupin, DH)

Maybe I'm not the only one who perceive he was proud to be Nymphadora Tonks husband.

"I.. I made a grave mistake in marrying Tonks. I did it against my better judgment and have regretted it very much every since". (Remus Lupin, DH)

This phrase makes more sense after reading Remus bio. He used to think that he was "too poor, too dangerous" for her. He thought he wasn't enough for her. He never imagined that she would love him back. He was a werewolf, and of course he knew he was dangerous, you only need to be emphatic to realize he tried to get away from Tonks because he loved her, he didn't want to hurt his beloved woman!

If you don't believe me, read this again. It's in the chapter 11 of Deathly Hallows:

"Don't you understand what I've done to my wife and my unborn child? I should never have married her, I've made her an outcast!"

So, if Remus was trying to escape it's because he loved them, he thought he spoiled their lives. And of course, no one likes to feel that their influence is bad for someone they love!

"Their relationship came from nowhere! They don't have a development"

Well, the saga's name is HARRY POTTER, not The Love Life of Remus Lupin. The story is about the tragic life of this kid and everything he went through to save the world of a cruel and dark villain. I know many readers are young people in love, and they only want to ship everything, but that's not the main topic here, maybe mother's love would be the topic. Of course Ron and Hermione had a development because they were HARRY'S BEST FRIENDS, and they were always with him, from Philosopher's Stone to Cursed Child. Remus and Tonks are minor characters, and it's funny the fact that this usually comes from Wolfstar shippers, so... is Wolfstar more developed than Remadora?! I mean... they can ship whatever they want, Snape and the Sorting Hat, Dobby and Voldemort, anything, but that does not give them the right to disrespect such a cute, tragic and beautiful canon ship as Remadora.

"They are queercoded! Their relationship is homophobic!"

It's surprising to hear this. It's like... people gets angry just because the author doesn't make queer their favourite characters? I will explain why I don't think Remus and Tonks are "queercoded":

Whether through their dress, their behavior, their language, or other subtle forms of implication, queer characters were written or designed to communicate their unstated queerness to those who were searching for representation.

And this is the definition on the website Pride.com:

"Using LGBTQIA tropes and stereotypes to allude to a character's sexuality without explicitly confirming it in the text."

We all know that Disney used queercoding on characters like Ursula, Scar, Jaffar. And why do we know that? Because DISNEY WANTED TO PORTRAY THEM LIKE THAT, get it? Disney, THE CREATORS MADE THESE CHARACTERS INTENTIONALLY QUEER. How? BASED ON STEREOTYPES.

And going back to Remadora, I was really happy to see by first time a bada*ass woman, with short hair who wasn't portrayed as a lesbian just because the way she looks. This character didn't follow the: "Straight women have long hair and are girly", and "short dyied hair is for lesbians". I'm very very very surprised the fandom follows these stereotypes.

About Remus: I don't know how the phrase "being a werewolf is a metaphor about people with HIV AIDS" means "he's gay". Fenrir Greyback bit him when he was a kid. Many people interpret this as "r4pe". Okay, even thinking that it is the meaning of the "bite", I still cannot understand how being "r4ped" and "infected" makes him queer. Is this (again) a stereotype about people with AIDS and gay?

"JK Rowling created Remadora because she didn't like people shipping Wolfstar!"

It is true that fans love shipping everything, they queerbait and queercode everything. That's great, that's not the problem. The problem is when people starts bashing fans who ship canon straight couples. A very good example is the polemic on Falcon and Bucky relationship, some fans wanted them to be a gay couple, Anthony Mackie said that two men can only be friends, and there is no need to always give them a romantic connotation. People cancelled him, they called him homophobic. Yes, just because a person with authority (on the story they're following") didn't like the fact of queercoding their favourite characters. It's the same about Remadora.

Grindeldore is a very interesting and underrated couple by the way. You can love or hate JK Rowling, but the truth is that Harry Potter story is hers, and even if Remadora was "because she didn't like Wolfstar", she is the author, it was her mind where these characters first appeared, as a big Harry Potter fan I respect and like the original story, that's not a sin. An author has the right to make some changes if some characters were misunderstood by the readers.

(Yes, I wrote this a bit angrily since I've seen too much hate towards Remadora shippers)

Can you rank the Big Seven ( H, Hr, R, N, D, L and G) on the basis of their character arcs???

1. Neville: Probably has the steadiest character arc that never gets resetted in-between books, thanks to being mostly a side character; has overall the most satisfying arc with an actual beginning and an end.

2. Ron: The poor kid gets his character arc resetted every other book or so but he’s got the most moments in the spotlight in terms of character growth (not that much of it was really needed in the first place, ISN’T THAT RIGHT HALF-BLOOD PRINCE).

3. Ginny: Has the slightest thing resembling a character arc or at least a setup of one with the whole “gets possessed by Voldemort” thingy out of all the other characters listed; unfortunately she doesn’t get to showcase her growth much since it all happens off-screen.

4: Hermione: Starts the series with great lessons to teach: “friendship and bravery are more important than books and cleverness” in book 1, “don’t believe everything a book tells you” and “even smart and knowledgeable people make mistakes” in book 2, and finally “you don’t have to try to do everything just because you’re clever” in book 3. And then... not much else happens. She never doubts her place in the Wizarding World, never faces setbacks over her blood status nor does she face consequences for her actions. Even the arc Rowling had set up with SPEW ends up disappearing into nothingness because it wasn’t going anywhere. She doesn’t really have any moments where you can tell yourself “oh, this is really gonna impact her character” because even something as monumental as TORTURE (courtesy of Bellatrix) ends up being... what, it takes her out for three pages and then she’s... fine? What the hell?

5. Harry: Kind of learns some things. Kinda. Sirius’ death is supposed to cure him of his recklessness and Dobby’s death is supposed to teach him to stop being obsessed with the Deathly Hallows... he does go through several emotional states through the series, but he’s still really static.

6. Draco: Much as I’m loathe to admit it, he does have the tiniest, smallest bit of depth there in book 6 with the whole “oh no turns out being a terrorist isn’t actually easy” thingy. But... really, that’s all. He doesn’t have a character arc or anything resembling one... AND I’M REAL GLAD FOR THAT HONESTLY. FUCK DRACO MALFOY AND EVERYTHING HE REPRESENTS AND IF YOU GUYS WANT “weedemption awcs” THEN YOU SHUT UP AND ACCEPT DUDLEY DURSLEY AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR LIKE ALL OF US INTELLECTUAL PEOPLE.

7. Luna: Yep, surprise surprise. Now, I LOVE Luna, I adore Luna, she is my second favourite character in the series and is a beautiful angel, but the fact remains that before book 5 she literally... didn’t exist. And she doesn’t seem to grow much, either. Rather, Luna is used to give Hermione a little bit of character growth before she disappears in the background for HBP, then is brought back for a few scenes in DH but doesn’t do much else. The other six characters all have appeared in the first book with regular appearances following through the rest of the books, while Luna only had three books’ worth of presence - a delightful presence nonetheless. However she just... doesn’t really get character development or growth, she simply is there vibing in the background. And that’s not so bad, either. We should aspire to be like Luna. Just vibe.

I doubt it'll happen but I am really curious, how would a division shuffle even work? I can't see any of the team members from different divisions having THAT much of a problem with each other that they'd split up, like I know Jiro is finding his own path rather than blindly following Ichiro and it's possible DH could break up (idk why I think they'd be the most likely, they just spell out angst and drama), but the rest?

lol if i'm honest, i think the cause of any division shuffling would be because of the final version of ramuda rather than any of the little cracks/potential fissures we see. maybe that ramuda takes advantage of those cracks?? bb with their mama drama, mtc i'm actually not too sure of, but their agendas are already wildly different, fp and all of their deep chuuoku traumas, mtr with honobono and maybe chuuoku scouting jakurai, dh with rei's everything lol, and bat i'm not too sure of either but i'd guess ramuda drama too; kuukou has his cycles so i could see a ramuda causing a rift in his team again

as for teams, that's literally my least favourite part about thinking about any division shuffling LOL like there's plenty of combinations but what's best for character growth???? and do we keep the traditional set up of leader-2gumi-3gumi???? (but like from a money standpoint, teams that play off of existing cross division relationships would be favourable lol but this ain't about that lol)

so i tried to think up divisions based on the traditional formula and hated every single second of it LOL they don't even look appealing bro lmao:

ichiro - rosho - rio: mostly based on rosho absolutely detesting that rei abandoned his children lol i would have preferred rosho with jiro but alas, they are both 2gumi 😔 idk what info ichiro has when it comes to chuuoku but rio and ichiro are both heading in the same direction, and rio i think should be a challenge to rei, what better person to get that going than with ichiro lol. and whatever answers they find can influence rosho eventually understanding rei lol

samatoki - jiro - dice: lol i really wanted samatoki with one of ichiro's siblings, let's get that ball rolling on samatoki/ichiro making up and better that jiro actually remembers nemu. the rest makes no sense, dice unfortuately was left over from me trying to place 3gumis on a team lol but uhhhhhh maybe samatoki could provide a different outlook for dice on family. they'd probably clash on their ideals on family since they come from very different places tho

ramuda - jyushi - rei: the two people i think would suffice as ramuda support squad 2.0 lol jyushi for obvious reasons, and rei similarly so, but also like. rei didn't have to save ramuda in the catch us if you can track but he did so.

jakurai - gentaro - hitoya: jakurai/gentaro parallels are the entire reason for this one lol like if jakurai is working with chuuoku to save yotsutsuji, who says that that's something that can't be applied to gentaro's bro?? let's also work towards hitojaku making up lol

sasara - juto - doppo: samatoki's old partners COMBINE lol!!!!!!! sasara would probably enjoy juto's crookedness the way he did with samatoki and rei lol but i'd imagine he'd hate feeling like a third wheel between juto and doppo, since i def put those two together as moral support for dear doppo lol but's fine, let sasara understand how cringe he is trying to flirt with rosho all the time and then bully juto about it LOL

kuukou - hifumi - saburo: what even is this team lol but i also wanted kuukou to be on team with one of ichiro's brothers and saburo, who is very closely aligned with how ichiro used to be in pre-tdd/tdd era, seemed like the best fit. saburo could likely benefit from having a good adult figure in his life but he doesn't really want one like the way ichiro did at that time, so kuukou could provide support to saburo like he did for ichiro. hifumi is a lot like jyushi so this managed to work out lol hifumi happened to be the last 2gumi leftover LOL but i think hifumi might find use in buddhist teachings of the mind

I love ron but there was a huge shift of his character from book 3 to 4, he went from literally not minding Harry's fame at all to always being jealous. It seemed so FORCED in book 4 onwards. Like jealous of the cup, jealous of him having gold, jealous of his robes, jealous of him being able to ask out any girl to the yule ball, jealous of Viktor I feel like because it was planned for him to leave she had to force that but it seemed unnatural tbh

I do think JKR pushed it with the Krum thing to kind of make it obvious Ron likes Hermione, otherwise people wouldn’t know right? She had to kind of make it over the top so like it's CLEAR that Ron likes her. If he’s okay with it, it just shows they’re good friends. I think that if this wasn't the case then Ron wouldn't have been as jealous, he’d be annoyed but get over it. As to the thing with Harry, Ron is pretty great overall with him. I think what you’re missing is how the books are told from Harry’s view and not Ron’s so you don’t really see how Ron’s experiencing things. 

So naturally, let me do an essay talking about Ron’s jealousy and where it stems from and why it’s justified. 

In the first book we see Ron and Harry becoming friends, people oggle at him, but Ron does not seem to mind. Becoming friends so early on, Ron ends up viewing Harry as a friend instead of the celebrity everyone else see’s him as. Ron assists Harry in taking down Voldemort in his first year, and he gets recognized for it by Dumbledore. Now people may not see this, but although he gets recognized- he is awarded 50 points. Now here is something to remember, at this moment- Slytherin is 160 points ahead of Gryffindor. Ron has just one them 50 points- yeah it’s great- but they need another 110 points to be tied.  Hermione gives them 50 extra points and starts crying. Then Harry is awarded 60. This makes them tied with Slytherin, and is obviously, 10 more points than Ron gone. So is once again, second best.  Ron’s moment is instantly overtook by Harry. Now Harry actually gets overtook by Neville winning 10 points, making Gryffindor win, Now in my opinion Ron doesn’t care at all because he immediately goes to cheer on neville, from book one to three I think Ron is generally okay with being overshadowed- but he just like anyone else would has a breaking point, which happens to be in Goblet of Fire . 

In the second book he goes  with Harry to the forbidden forrest, facing his arachnophobia, and goes to the chamber of secrets with him. It’s his broken wand that causes Lockhart to obliviate himself- otherwise the both of them would have been obliviated. And yes he has motives, it is his sister. But remember, Ginny has three other brothers in her school, does this mean they don’t care about her? Of course not. Ron just trusts Harry in a way that other characters can’t. Harry can talk to snakes and the whole school basically thinks he is the heir of Slytherin, so maybe falling Harry into a forbidden forrest or chamber of secrets isn’t something everyone is so keen on doing. But Ron trusts Harry and is willing to risk his life to be alongside him. Now is it ROn’s fault they get seperated in the chamber? No. Did Ron help as much as Harry, of course. Dumbledore gives them special services to the school for a reason. However a key thing to note is that Ginny does not see Ron. Who does she see? Harry. What is she going to tell her mum? Well, that Harry saved her. She is already a huge fan of him, so this already adds into her narrative. So what happens when Molly Weasley comes to see Ginny? She goes to hug Harry and thanks him right away, when Ron is right there. Ron says nothing, and he’s probably just happy that she’s safe. But what do you think happened when they went home that summer? Ginny gushed about Harry, she mentioned how he had saved her. Of course, she hadn’t seen Ron so it wasn’t her fault. But this yet again, shows Ron being overshadowed by Harry even though he himself contributed to her well being.

Come the third book, we see this quote

‘“Did you really blow up your aunt, Harry?” said Hermione in a very serious voice. “I didn’t mean to,” said Harry while Ron roared with laughter. “I just — lost control.” “It’s not funny, Ron,” said Hermione sharply. “Honestly, I’m amazed Harry wasn’t expelled.” “So am I,” admitted Harry. “Forget expelled, I thought I was go­ing to be arrested.” He looked at Ron. “Your dad doesn’t know why Fudge let me off, does he?” “Probably ’cause it’s you, isn’t it?” shrugged Ron, still chuckling. “Famous Harry Potter and all that. I’d hate to see what the Min­istry’d do to me if I blew up an aunt. Mind you, they’d have to dig me up first, because Mum would’ve killed me. Anyway, you can ask Dad yourself this evening. We’re staying at the Leaky Cauldron tonight too! So you can come to King’s Cross with us tomorrow! Hermione’s there as well!”

This shows that Ron is not ignorant to Harry’s favouritism, he is well aware that harry is more recognized than him. Obviously he is not mad, he’s laughing and thinks it’s great. But it shows how he is well aware that Harry has a treatment that he doesn't, this is important. This is where we get a glimpse of Ron’s perspective in the books. If you experience the events from Ron’s perspective, you’re going through all the adventures Harry goes through minus the same recognition. 

Now Goblet of Fire comes along, Harry is chosen to be in the tournament. Ron really wanted to sign up- but he was too young. Keep in mind he's mad at Harry because he thinks Harry found a way to sign up without him, not because he signed up. Ron deals with being pushed to the side all the time and genuinely cares about Harry. Ron just wants to be seen as his equal, he doesn’t care that Harry gets recognition. He literally just wants to be an equal counterpart. He apologizes when he see’s the danger Harry is in and puts that behind him. 

Order of the Phoenix Ron beats Harry in one thing- becoming a prefect, and Harry is instantly salty. Keep in mind that Ron has been dealing with this for FIVE YEARS, long term. This one little minuscule thing has Harry feeling some way. Instead of being happy, he APOLOGIZES to Harry. He says he was sure Harry was going to get it. This shows the regard he has for Harry, the difference is, unlike everything else, this is something they simply can’t both have, only one person can be prefect. Then we see Ron literally telling Harry all the things he’s faced and Harry rubbing it in Hermione and Ron’s faces that they haven’t experienced what he has. I personally thought this was so rude. Yes Harry stabbed the diary, yes Harry cast the patronus charm, and yes Harry saw Voldemort. But Ron was with him in the chamber, Ron drove the car, Ron kept Lockhart imprisoned, you think Ron can’t stab a book with a fang? Of course he can. Ron’s leg was literally broken in POA, and he still stood up on it to fight Sirius. Where have we ever seen a time where Ron can’t handle himself? Harry is different, he has this core connection with Voldemort, most of his victories are not due to him- take GOF for example. And what would Harry have done in POA without Hermione’s time turner? Nothing. GOF he wouldn’t have made it past the Dragon if Ron didn’t get Hagrid to tell him he was facing a dragon. Instead of Ron saying all of this he sits and takes it because he knows Harry has it worse than him in terms of Voldemort. He encourages Harry to start DA But also remember why the hell can Harry cast a patronus in the first place? Did he learn it himself? No! Lupin went out of his way to TEACH him, you think Ron wouldn't have been capable if Lupin had done the same with him? Of course, in DA we see Ron casting a patronus! He goes with Harry to the Ministry, he gets hit by a death eater, SO DOES Hermione Granger, why is Harry unaffected? Because the death eaters were TOLD not to harm Harry because VOLDEMORT wanted him! In the end Harry needs help, he needs the order and dumbledore. What comes out of all of this? Harry being recognized. That’s all. 

Come HBP , people don’t care about Luna or Neville, Hermione only mentions how Harry is so liked because people know how he was in the Ministry. Then the slug club comes, imagine a club like this in your school, that is BLATANT favouritism, Harry has all these fangirls, and then is a part of this club literally for his name. He’s also now quidditch captain- Ron isn’t even mad, he even jokes that Harry will be his captain if he lets him on the team again. Then he helps Harry yet again with the death eaters and all of that and then we go into DH. 

The jealousy comes into play with Harry and Hermione, which honestly Hermione had a part to play in this, Hermione does treat Harry differently from Ron, she’s like always more concerned about him and we know (well some of us) know it’s because he’s like her brother so it’s an overly protective sister kind of thing with him, but with Ron she likes him so she’s not as coddling, she treats him like she's his girlfriend which he fails to see. She also compliments Harry because it means nothing to her but she’s more reserved with complimenting Ron because she likes him (very teenager), she can say Harry’s handsome and not care but be too shy to say Ron is because of how she feels with regards to him.  Ron obviously misreads this. Anyways, at the end of the day,  him leaving isn’t down to jealousy, it’s down to frustration and Harrys’ lack of empathy for his family. When he comes back we see the Harry/Hermione thing which is just a bigger picture of giving insight to how Ron has seen everything. Ron is so good about it we never really heard his insecurities. But it’s sad how he see’s himself. So honestly, I feel for him and the man had a lot of patience. Hermione and Harry have no regards for his insecurities, Hermione mentions his insecurities ONCE in GOF and then goes onto say Harry should have been perfect, Harry is so brave for going in the ministry, I’m 100% Hermione thought she was giving Ron’s too many hints about her liking him so she didn’t feel like she had to compliment him. Like an ‘obviously I like you so I don’t need to tell how how much all the time,’ but you know Ron misreads it and he gives off that tough persona so Hermione fails to see how he is an actual puppy who hides behind humour. Tabloids are out about Harry and Hermione and how they’re so in love all of that, like he was justified for all his jealousies and he still stood and loved Harry none-the-less, so I think failure to recognize his experience takes from why he was jealous in the first place and that he’s not a bad person for being jealous given the situations he’s been put into.

Inferno by Sherrilyn Kenyon

And now we are up to the up to the CoN book I haven't read. I read half of Inferno but never finished it I know bits and pieces from here out but not the details. Inferno picks up where Infamous ended. Just after Death delivers his warning about Kody to Nick. The prologue is a tad distressing, it's Ambrose again. But gives a lot of information in a way, though it does require you to know some of the players from the DH universe. Inferno is a book that changes so much for the series, events, characters and powers. Some of the backstories that are revealed, the snip-its we get are unexpected and well done. This is the first appearance of the stunning Lilliana, Caleb's long-dead wife. Nick is well aware that Caleb is a demigod that taps his father powers to be above his mid-level. The Grimoire has a name? Yeah, I did not know that, and I searched the other books (bless kindle) we've never been given it before. It's name is Nashira. It's weird to have a name randomly starting to be used with little context.

Somehow it feels like Inferno has less of a defined plot. There is a bad of the week but it isn't resolved fully. It is more a way to drive the character development forward. We meet some different players that feel like they aren't done yet. Including Hel and a couple of other Norse gods. I still question if we are done with a couple of previous characters too. What we are getting is at least some of the prophecy that guides Kody to believe that Nick can be saved. This does have is a lot of good lines about moving forward and some great analogies. It feels like a different type of story but it is none the less effective as this is halfway through the story I can feel it building. As it should be. I'm enjoying this much more this time around alternating between CoN and something else it prevents burn out but is not something I have tried before.

One of my favourite moments in this whole book is extremely long and will not be added here. But I will add I link to it. Years ago I posted it on tumblr .

"In his head, he heard her favorite saying about Bubba and her hair, which she currently had put up in a sophisticated bun—God gave me black, then Michael turned it gray, and L’Oreal made me a redhead." — Bobbi Jean is like her son, the slight comic relief of these books.

“I do love you, murahn.” — I think we get more demon language then we have in all the other books (possibly combined). I really need a translation for murahn. This is said to Cay by his father. His father apparently loves him despite Caleb's clear animosity towards him this is all the worse when you know who it is.

"I forget that teenagers are like puppies. High-strung and nervous for no apparent reason. I guess we’re all lucky you didn’t soil the carpet, huh?” — Ash for the win.

“I’m not as vacuous as you think I am.” “I never said you were vacuous.” “Your looks have.” — Casey is a great character in a way. She is smart enough to act dumb. I have to admit I always thought she was stupid but I'm pretty sure she's not.

Simi's cameo as always way was a joy, but perhaps a danger.

Adrian you total ass (like we didn't know that already). Bonding Cay's life force to your powers? Dick move. That was bound to backfire on you.

Why hide the Voodoo shop? and Who? Tiyana feels like an easy out.

Bubba is adorable. I really want Cherise to be happy. And I think Bubba with his fierce loyalty, strong morals and ability to defend her from the crazy may do it.

Caleb is a pretty good speechmaker. Nick may not appreciate his motivational endeavours but I do. I guess it makes sense given his former position as a general.

Building on my current Jared/Jaden obsession. Jared is a demi-god, not only the last of the Sephiroth but the first and the father of the Malachai line he was saved by the goddess he fathered the children of. If I interpreted the bit we got properly. While he was born from a mother who wielded dark powers, his father was born of light." This is about the first Malachai. I'm wondering if the mother was Braith, the goddess who made her choices. But I can't tell where Jaden fits given he is held captive by Azura and Noir.

1. Jakurai. A beautiful man. His hair is beautiful, his intelligence is beautiful...basically everything is *chef's kiss* about him. I find even the sometimes stilted, maybe-overly-polite way he talks is relatable.

2. Gentaro. There's a reason Stella topped my 2020 Spotify Wrapped and Utena was also on it, while those songs and Scenario Liar were hanging around my On Repeat for a long while. Aside from that, I like dissecting how he talks and I also like characters with an air of mystery and unattainability around them. (In gacha games' case, it makes me wanna work harder for them, LOL - I had to get ARB Gentaro from a Select ticket during the half anniversary.) In a weird way, I think even his quirk of constant lying is relatable, because, while basically nobody switches their speech and/or pronouns as much as he does, aren't we all prone to wearing different "masks", or lying to uphold the truth or, alternatively, stop ourselves from breaking under the strain of our own truths?

3. Doppo. Who doesn't relate to feeling beaten down, not necessarily by their overly-chipper friend or their boss, but by something/one or other in their lives, and wanting to be released from that somehow?

4. Jyushi - protect this pompous visual-kei boi, even if his speech is a heck of a time to translate (for me, it's even harder to parse than Gentaro's). That is all.

5. Hifumi. Although he can seem obnoxious at times and Don't Stop the Party is an ode to how flawless he seems, the 2nd DRB drama track proves he's just as broken as everyone else. He's also got some really pretty and unique ARB cards. As you can see, the high placements of MTR are why I'm a MTR fan.

6. Jyuto. "Sexy Revenge Cop" is not my niche, for sure, and I used to cringe at his songs and how loud he can get (the 2nd DRB performance won me over with 2DIE4 and Uncrushable though), but his introvert nature and position as "idiots' minder" in MTC makes him relatable.

7. Rosho. I feel like Sasara is still hiding something - or maybe he's just too plain for me? - but reading the DH and BAT manga weekly made me realise I like, or at the very least understand, the guy more than I'd like to admit. He holds a similar position to Jyuto, not just in that they're both 2gumi, but because they're both "idiot's minders" and straight men to their respective leaders while their 3gumi members are loose cannons of sorts. Now that I have an SR of him, I mostly need an SSR of Hitoya as of the time of writing.

8. Kuko. Sougyaran Bam is awesome - although I still have no idea how to pronounce half of it, even after seeing the lyrics several times - but I feel like the religious element of him makes him hard to appreciate.

9. Dice. He's fallen a few spots due to 2nd DRB developments (even though who his mother is is probably one of the biggest 2nd DRB developments, full stop), but I still think the anime didn't do his manga or ARB portrayals justice. He may be a carefree idiot, but he's not completely clueless - he just looks like he's the world's punching bag because we almost never see him win in canon. Also, his ARB cards have a high chance of having Perfect Assist, Perfect Boost or Combo Boost + large stats, based on my observation of the gacha pools - it's basically an in-game reflection of the guy's belief in luck.

10. - 15. Samatoki, Riou, Ichiro, Saburo, Sasara, Hitoya

16. Ramuda - in fact, the very reason why I got into this fandom the first time around (Shirai, also in Boueibu and Idolish7, voices him). Gentaro was responsible the 2nd time, so you could say I'm an FP stan due to this emotional attachment, even though, to memory, I encountered Buster Bros first. Due to this, my feelings towards him are rather complicated, because before he started showing his depths, I thought he was rather obnoxious and in particular, as soon as I hear "nee nee oneesan~!", I try to skip that song on Spotify as quick as I can.

17. Jiro - Sorry, but I don't really like characters just because they do sports.

18. Rei - hypothetically, I should like him, based on what I said above about liking characters with an air of mystery to them, but he's absolutely impenetrable and he abandoned the Buster Bros, so...

HELLO BEN :D how have you been? i'm working on my story and i'm curious how youdo when you plan stories. do you have everything planned frame for frame, do you have general events and less detailed planning or do you basically just wing it?

Hey Tuva :) I’m fine thanks, and you ? Oh, this is going to be a loooong answer sorry but I hope this will help you !

I have different way of working on my stories but at the end it’s kind of similar. I will try my best to give you all the working process I’m doing on DH. I first had the idea of a black vampire slayer. I play around in CAS and Destiny were born ^^ Then I thought about what the plot good be about : A young black woman arriving in a new town . Basically that was it. Why was she arriving in this town? Who is she ? Who is going to be her friends and enemies ? What about her family ? Her future ? Her education ? and what about the town itself ? Then all the characters appeared kind of instantly for most of them. Leïla, Soraya, William, Denise, Mama, Blu and Violet were all previous sims I didn’t know what to do with ^^ Chester was a downloadable sims created by @ice-creamforbreakfast , I played a long time with him alone and I wanted to include him in the story because he’s one of my favourites sims. Halette was created by @castawavy when she did a sims request. I planned to use her on my previous legacy but I didn’t get the chance so I had to use her on DH because she’s a great character and she looks amazing. Add to that the open cast I did before starting season 1 that brought me Nancy by @hufflepuff-sim and Vance by @aniraklova , I had all the plots I needed to prepare a correct plan for season 1 and maybe more.

With all these characters in mind, I thought about the full plan for season 1. I thought about the actual TV shows and decided to make like a regular number of episodes and chapters. 10 episodes of 8/10 chapters would be great to answer all those questions. I wrote the first draft that look something like this :

Got it ? But I didn’t cut my scene into frame until recently. You’ll probably do it to when you’ll feel more comfortable writing your story, by that I mean when it will be all clear in your mind. It’s just a way for me to not write extra long chapters (vut t After this step, I take the screenshots, more than I need in case I want to add more lines or explanations. All of this depends on the cc I use and found. Some scenes had to be changed totally because I didn’t find a specific acc/pose/cc I needed but you will also have to be smart with shots and angles sometimes when you really need something you can’t find ^^ For shots and angles, all of this depends on you and your influence (what you see will influence you no matter what, even if you don’t realised it or want it).

I guess at the end I can say I do the three in a way. My chapters are now written frame by frame in order to not be too long for posting, those chapters are focused on a specific event (Ep 1/2 : Character’s and plot introduction, 3/4 actions and twists and plots going on, ep 5 end of the first arc with the nest. Episode 6 beginning of Nancy’s arc that will end on episode 9. Episode 10 : main plots resolutions) . And I also wing it ‘cause I wrote a Simblreen special and I’m preparing an in between season 1 and 2 to introduce season 2 and use some recent cc I love ^^

Also about the others seasons, it was a way for me to talk about several others things while still having a main project. I also love these characters and want to see them live a lot of things before saying good bye to them. But one of the best advice I received is probably to know where your characters are going before full write, it can help you a lot. It doesn’t have to be an entire detailed ending but at least it should help you when you’re stuck.
