I wonder how Mel's Character development will go in future updates. The most obvious one is her realizing that the good aren't that great.

req: Hi I really liked your fic with Athena and I would like the same fic with Hades if you don't mind. Thanks in advance!
yandere PJO! Hades x demigod! darling 💀🐺👑 - general hcs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would like to start off by establishing that I truly and firmly believe that Hades would NEVER hurt you or torture you like some of the other gods and goddesses *agressive coughing* Athena, Ares and Hera *more aggresive coughing*
Well and truly he is too in love with you to even THINK about that
I mean have you seen how he reacted to Persephone hating him at the start of their relationship???
Anyways, I believe that the way you would meet is if you were a mother figure to Nico
Nico was immediately drawn to you, an older camper who had stayed back to help Chiron as a counsellor
You weren't afraid of him like most other councellors, rather, like Percy and Annabeth, you saw him as more of what he was; a child who just needed love and affection, a neglected and abandoned child who had to grow up too soon
He's rightfully suspicious and offstanding to you at first but if you act the correct way around him, he definitely takes to you
He starts opening up to you about different things, how he felt about his sister's death, how he felt about Jason's death and how he was struggling to see the point in anything
Comforting him at any time late in the night because he's anxious and depressed and being the one to introduce him to Will also helps :)
I think after he starts dating Will is when he takes you to introduce you to his dad because he finally feels like he has a mother
And that is when you, unfortunately, catch the attention of the Lord of the Dead himself
It's very very hard to gain Nico's trust, considering what he's been through, Hades knew you must have a heart of gold or atleast cared about Nico to have one around him
He finds you intriguing, the way you stand tall to him and only give him a stiff bow, how you roam about and talk to his ghoul servants with ease and of course, how well you're able to take care of and calm down Nico
So his inner stalker starts acting up and he starts sending his servants to spy on you, following you around in the darkness, watching you in the shadows, showing up in your dreams, resulting in them melting into nightmares
Waking up trembling and sweating because of the horrifying creatures and distant memories tormenting you :(
Hades hates tormenting (traumatizing) you but he can't really help it since he needs to know your routine to kidnap you
Actually, I don't know why I censored that, he does kidnap you
He basically sets his furies on your ass which sucks for you but he had no choice
Like imagine just having a quiet, comfortable time in your cabin, all alone with just a nice book and your favourite drink
And then screeching she-demons descend on you and literally drag you all the way to the underworld
Of course, you were having absolutely NONE of that, kicking and screaming
But he gets you eventually
As soon as they deposited you in your bedroom, the man himself comes to see you
Hades confesses to you immediately and tells you he loves you
You immediately remember the story of Persephone and shove him away in horror
From then on, it's just a never ending cycle of him trying to win you over with his wealth and confessions of undying love
Visiting your bedroom everyday with flowers from Persephone's garden
They're beautiful of course but that doesn't mean you'll forgive him
Chucking things from your incredibly expensive bedroom at him while he just stands there and stares at you sadly before leaving
Yelling at him and begging for him to take you back home but he just shakes his head no and apologizes to you over and over
This could go either of two ways, depending on the kind of person you are
1. You keep fighting against him until you finally give in, accepting your situation and deciding to make the most of it
2. You accept his love, thinking that it's better to have undying love than mortal love
He'll be delighted when you finally storm out of your room and go to his throne room, calmly informing him that you accept his proposal
He ADORES you
He's very clingy and he wants you in the throne room with him at all times
He's the kind of person to stare at you for hours and get completely distracted from his job
Like most of the times, you're gonna have to be the one to interview the souls who come to meet him because he's too busy gazing at you
He loves being romantic and will wake you up every day with flowers
He isn't very touchy-feely, he's more of a gift giver kind of person
I mean, he's the god of wealth for god's sake
He will literally get you ANYTHING you want
Even if it's sold out EVERYWHERE, he will personally commission Hephaestus to make it for you
Literally dream of anything, anything that you could possibly want and boom, the next morning, you wake up with it on your bedside table
All he wants in return is a little kiss every day and you telling him you love him
He's one of the gods who will let you roam the above world
He knows that he treats you so well, you'll come back to him anyways
He loves taking you on romantic dates to literally any place you want
Renting out the Eiffel tower just for the two of you is quite the common occurrence, it's his favourite place for a date <3
Complete gentleman, notices everything about you and will literally just chuck money at people, gods, ghosts and monsters alike to make whatever you want happen
Even the slightest show of affection from you is enough to make this poor god pass OUT
Like imagine picking a pretty flower from the above world for him and presenting it to him in the throne room??
He almost fainted of happiness and immediately ordered it to be planted in the royal garden so he could go and gaze at it for eternity
He's in the seventh heaven when you tell him you love him
For everyone wondering what's going on on the Persephone aspect of things, I think she'd be pretty damn pissed at first
Not only because he kidnapped ANOTHER girl
But also because that's her husband??
But unlike Minthe, he actually defends you and refuses to let her hurt you or turn you into a plant and crush you
Eventually, depending on your behaviour and attitude towards her, Persephone will either hate you but not do anything about it, learn to tolerate you OR she'll love you <3
Maybe a little too much....
I mean, you caught her husband's eye....so surely there's something about you that intrigues her too....
But that's a good thing!.....right?
Good luck to you if she ends up turning yandere for you because she is definitely not as soft-hearted and non-violent as Hades
Either way, living in the underworld turns out not to be so bad, especially when you can wander around in your choice of clothes all day, throw money around on things you want, living in a gigantic palace decorated to your design and basically do whatever you like in return for loving an actually really sweet god
Y'know, even if it IS completely filled with spirits and zombies
But that's just minor details in exchange for literally anything in the world....right?
Also, Cerberus ADORES you
Even if you have dog allergies, since he isn't technically a real dog, his 'fur' doesn't affect you
Will follow you around everywhere, begging for pets with all 6 of those cute puppy eyes
Also loves playing fetch :3
Once Nico found out that his father kidnapped you, his reaction was something along the lines of silent, shocked staring
"Nico...I can expla-"
"What. The. Fu-"
He gets used to it pretty fast, he's used to his father's weird, obsessive antics by now
And besides, it just means he gets to spend more time with you <3
I have this irrelevant hc that he likes dragging you with him to his father's throne room and giving him a forceful makeover, just to embarrass him
Hades puts up with it, mostly because he's a softie
In terms of punishments and such, the only time he'd really get pissed is if you tried cheating on him
Like he is so whipped for you that he is willing to let anything slide...except for disloyalty
Even then, the most he'll do is isolate you
He really can't keep himself away from you either
Mostly, he'll just send his minions to guard you a lot more
Which is just more inconvenient and annoying than anything mentally damaging
Overall, he's one of the tamest yanderes in terms of Greek gods
He really doesn't want to hurt you, he just wants you to stay with him forever
He's just clingy :)

"Persephone Writes a Letter to Her Mother", by A.E. Stallings
First – hell is not so far underground – My hair gets tangled in the roots of trees & I can just make out the crunch of footsteps, The pop of acorns falling, or the chime Of a shovel squaring a fresh grave or turning Up the tulip bulbs for separation. Day & night, creatures with no legs Or too many, journey to hell and back. Alas, the burrowing animals have dim eyesight. They are useless for news of the upper world. They say the light is “loud” (their figures of speech All come from sound; their hearing is acute).
The dead are just as dull as you would imagine. They evolve like the burrowing animals – losing their sight. They may roam abroad sometimes – but just at night – They can only tell me if there was a moon. Again and again, moth-like, they are duped By any beckoning flame – lamps and candles. They come back startled & singed, sucking their fingers, Happy the dirt is cool and dense and blind. They are silly & grateful and don’t remember anything. I have tried to tell them stories, but they cannot attend. They pester you like children for the wrong details – How long were his fingernails? Did she wear shoes? How much did they eat for breakfast? What is snow? And then they pay no attention to the answers.
My husband, bored with their babbling, neither listens nor speaks. But here there is no fodder for small talk. The weather is always the same. Nothing happens. (Though at times I feel the trees, rocking in place Like grief, clenching the dirt with torturous toes.) There is nothing to eat here but raw beets & turnips. There is nothing to drink but mud-filtered rain. Of course, no one goes hungry or toils, however many – (The dead breed like the bulbs of daffodils – Without sex or seed – all underground – Yet no race has such increase. Worse than insects!)
I miss you and think about you often. Please send flowers. I am forgetting them. If I yank them down by the roots, they lose their petals And smell of compost. Though I try to describe Their color and fragrance, no one here believes me. They think they are the same thing as mushrooms. Yet no dog is so loyal as the dead, Who have no wives or children and no lives, No motives, secret or bare, to disobey. Plus, my husband is a kind, kind master; He asks nothing of us, nothing at all – Thus fall changes to winter, winter to fall, While we learn idleness, a difficult lesson.
He does not fully understand why I write letters. He says that you will never get them. True – Mulched-leaf paper sticks together, then rots; No ink but blood, and it turns brown like the leaves. He found my stash of letters, for I had hid it, Thinking he’d be angry. But he never angers. He took my hands in his hands, my shredded fingers Which I have sliced for ink, thin paper cuts. My effort is futile, he says, and doesn’t forbid it.

So I watched ChattyMia's Lore Olympus video which was great and everyone should watch it. It seems most people who do series reviews of the Lore Olympus don't like the comic for obvious reasons. Then I was reminded by the end that the comic is expecting a TV series which is in development hell. It made me think that Rachel might be better off not having a Lore Olympus TV show. Most praise for the series died awhile ago as the story became an utter mess. If it did get a TV show, people will see the early red flags like the age gap, the treatment of Minthe, trying to excuse cheating, Hades horrible behavior to workers, nymphs being discriminated with no pushback, etc. If some of them read the comic for spoilers they would later see the other big red flags of the series. Excusing slave labor, Persephone threatening the lower class, Hera getting with Echo a 'trash nypmh' as she once called Minthe, Apollo gets community service, the continued mistreatment of Demeter etc. Which I feel will cause everyone to go 'wtf is this series? 50 Shades of Grey mixed with Keeping Up with the Kardashians?'. Then you have to wonder if some of them will do a deep dive and find the stuff about Rachel's tie to Lolita. It would be especially bad if a bigger content creator talked about it. And we already know Rachel doesn't handle criticism the best (i.e. the struggle street tweet, the Minthe cosplay situation or even the merch). So I could only imagine how much worse it would be for her if Lore Olympus got a TV show and more eyes got drawn to it and her. It would no longer be just confided to the web comics fanbase but the much larger TV one. Unless Rachel seriously considered rewriting the TV script (or rekindling it lol) I don't see how a TV adaptation of her show would be good press for her.
Yess I've seen that video, it's great! She did a great job summarizing a lot of the biggest core issues with LO's story and art without getting too lost in the sauce (though god knows the rabbithole of LO's issues runs INCREDIBLY deep in an equally fascinating and "oh god what the fuck did I just read' kind of way), her video editing was very entertaining and her Persephone cosplay was a great touch 😎
That said, regarding the thought of "most people who do series reviews of LO don't like the comic", there is an amount of bias we have to acknowledge there - there's often a lot more to say in the negative rather than the positive. By extension, people who simply enjoy LO and don't participate much in the online discussion surrounding it or the discourse concerning it are less likely to make 2 hour videos analyzing it. So while the popular opinion of LO has shifted more towards a negative point of view, that doesn't mean that fans of the comic don't exist - it's just that most of those fans are blissfully enjoying the comic and can only sum it up as "it's very pretty and the plot is great", whereas many people who didn't enjoy it are more likely to voice their opinions as to why in far more explicit detail (though on the flipside of that, it also goes to show that there's a lot more to analyze in LO's flaws than its strengths - it's ironic that the fans often don't have much to say beyond "it's cute" or "I relate to Persephone" and anything further than that is relegated to pure headcanon pieced together by assumption and best guesses to make up for Rachel's lack of writing).
All that aside though, regarding the TV adaption, at this point it's less a matter of reception and more a matter of relevancy. The perfect time to release or at least show us proof of the LO TV show was years ago, when the comic was at its peak between 2020-2021. The second best time was at last year's NYCC when Rachel was a headlining guest. The fact they still had nothing to show for it at this year's NYCC, with Rachel nowhere to be seen and instead focusing more on the Freaking Romance adaption with Snailords filling the role as their featured guest (an equally if not even more problematic creator), is astounding, but unsurprising.
To me, LO feels like a real life case of "Tortoise and the Hare". Back at the start of it all, in 2017-2018, it was doing what no other comic on the platform was doing, presenting us a retelling of the Hades and Persephone story - which was very popular on Tumblr at the time - through a modern setting and with art that was incredibly unique for the platform. That, paired with WT's aggressive marketing, propelled it far ahead every other comic on the platform, creating a gap so massive that even the comics in second place on the trending tabs still weren't even close to LO's lead in terms of stats and money.
But then it got complacent. Quality of the comic's writing and art dropped, it was becoming increasingly obvious that LO had become no more than a marketing grift akin to the likes of Harry Potter - easily turned into books, t-shirts, socks, coloring books, figures, etc. - and that gave way to an increase of criticism towards it, criticism that had always somewhat existed even as far back as its days on Tumblr, but was now amplified by the existing ongoing proof that LO was never all it was cracked up to be.
Now, at best they shill $200+ figurine pre-orders, but the show is nowhere to be seen and, with the comic now finished and locked behind Daily Pass, its relevancy is dying out. "Rachel Smythe Presents" still has nothing to show for itself, Rachel's IG and Twitter seem to be purely for merch-pushing by the Inklore team, and Rachel has, at best, two new series that she suddenly announced but, in her words, don't even have anything written or planned for them yet beyond the taglines that were thrown together for her socials.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Greek myth retelling industry is in a renaissance. Hades is still a massively popular game, with its sequel now in early access; Epic: The Musical has been making waves on Spotify and TikTok far exceeding that of LO's in terms of audience reach, and even has more to show for itself in the way of official animations than LO ever has; and now Kaos has recently launched its first season after being in production since 2018 - yes, you read that right, it got commissioned around the exact same time LO became an Originals series which suggests the idea for it was already floating around and being pitched prior to LO - and, frankly, has beaten LO at its own game by achieving everything LO set out to do - weaving a Greek epic-style story in a modern setting, balancing romance with prophecies and world-ending stakes. It took a while, but Kaos made it past the finishing line, while LO has been dragging itself behind it, still making empty promises that a TV show is "still in the works" and "coming soon", with not a single thing to show for itself.
LO may have gotten a head start in being the "sleek, modern, sexy Greek myth retelling" by the virtue of being a weekly webtoon, but slow and steady wins the race - the productions that have taken their time cooking in the oven are now coming out as beautiful and delicious as we, the guests at the table, were told would be, while LO is simply the short-term gratification junk food that bombards us with gimmicks but sits like a rock in our stomachs and leaves us unfulfilled and wishing for a better meal.
Those better meals are here now and they were absolutely worth the wait.

As a devotee of Demeter, I sometimes feel that people only worship Persephone for the aesthetic.
I feel horrible for saying and thinking that but I can't help but feel that way. Certain pagans portray Persephone as some overpowered Mary Sue, downplaying the importance of her mother and sometimes even her husband.
I feel like people really ignore her as a agrarian deity. They claim to love her but feel the need to change everything about her - if you need to change her did you ever like her in the first place?
It honestly just feels like they're talking about a Wattpad main character instead of a religious figure at times it's so jarring to me. Imagine if someone on tiktok described their deity as a dark and daddy figure bad boy with piercings and then its literally just Jesus Christ.
And its not just Persephone, it's the whole pantheon! Some worshippers talk about the deities and their myths like characters and tropes from a telenovela. They are rarely treated like religious figures, they are more than just their myths.
Im sorry i just wanted a place to complain and see if i am not alone
---
Khaire, Nonny,
Honestly, I agree with this sentiment. I've seen this time and time again where Persephone, and many other deities, get "fandomized" which can be problematic for others, even if it's ok in that individual's practice. Sometimes it feels like our religion isn't taken seriously, even by the people who actively practice it, but I also understand that people have different forms of practicing that work better for them. It's frustrating, however, when Persephone is depicted as this Mary Sue characterization of her where she's seen as, like, super edgy, badass, and powerful in a really fandomized way. It comes across as this person using Persephone as an avenue of self-expression rather than worshipping who she actually is as a deity (not to say she's not badass or powerful, to clarify). While it's ok to use a deity as an avenue for self-expression in worship (some trans folk, for example, view Apollon as trans-masc, and it actively plays a role in their worship), it's a lot less ok when you're making this deity into a cartoonish characterization of themselves. The gods present themselves differently to people, but I don't know; I guess I find it far-fetched to believe that Persephone would present herself in this sort of way. I can't speak for her, obviously, but I just disagree with this interpretation of who she is as a deity - putting herself above others, hating her mom, being a rebellious "wild child". I think that, psychologically speaking, some people might just find comfort in this representation of her and see themselves in it which is likely why they gravitate towards it. It's fine to have that experience, but I STRONGLY encourage these people to actually read the myths about Persephone, do the research on how she was worshipped, and actively try to better understand where she actually came from as a deity because this isn't just a character in a show that you relate to; this is a goddess that you're trying to worship, no?
Some people finding more success in their practice with this representation doesn't negate the harm these misconceptions and misinformation can cause. I've met multiple people who believe that Persephone willingly fled to the Underworld to "escape" Demeter (which is untrue), and that is endlessly frustrating to me, especially due to the cultural importance of the Hymn to Demeter (the myth of Persephone being kidnapped). The gods are not their myths, in my experience, but their myths still hold a heavy importance in the way they were worshipped in the past, and the way we worship them in the present. Demonizing an entire deity is the equivalent of trying to cancel a constellation of stars; it's pointless, extremely bizarre, and very "online" behavior.
But yeah, I think some people care more about the "character" than they do the deity, and I will say that confidently. I've met people who "ship" deities with each other, who make their experiences with deities sound - as you said - like a telenovela, and who actively spread harmful misinformation about deities in a way that legitimately disgusts and disturbs me. I've once had someone tell me that a deity [insert reprehensibly immoral act here] them, and to this day, I still cannot believe they said that to me when I was a beginner, just to dissuade me from worshipping that deity. The lengths some people will go to drag a deity is honestly both sad and ridiculous.
I wish some people took the religion more seriously in the sense that they didn't just make random shit up about deities, actively disrespect and disregard the culture the deities stem from, and demonize some deities while bolstering others. It shows a level of immaturity and indifference towards the culture these deities come from. It's not a fandom; it's a way of worship.
---
✨ Bonus round!! ✨
Some ridiculous things I've heard people say that sound like a fandom and/or telenovela (I will put the phrases in "" to express that these are things I've heard, not things I'm saying or believe in):
"Hermes and Aphrodite constantly gossip to each other about the other gods. No one fucks with Hermes because he knows everyone's dirty laundry."
"Ares is starting a revolution on Mount Olympus against Zeus to take the throne." (Yes, I have really heard this)
"Hermes is starting a revolution on Mount Olympus against Zeus to take the throne." (Yes, I have really heard this, too)
"XYZ deity has done [insert reprehensibly immoral and highly traumatic act here] to me."
"I caught XYZ deity cheating on their spouse in the astral realm, and I'm going to tell their spouse."
"The reason the gods haven't been communicating as much lately is because Hades ran away from Mount Olympus (?) and Hekate is going after him. Everyone is panicking a little bit."
"Zeus is such a playboy." (Bruh, do you really have beef with a thousands of years old god who came from an extremely patriarchal society? What, are you trying to cancel him?)
"Poseidon is such a playboy." (Now this take is wild; I don't really understand where it came from at all)
"Apollo is such an UwU 👉👈 shy boy! He's so cute and flustered all the time." (???)
"Persephone has a lot of emotional trauma from Demeter, who was extremely controlling." (No. No for so, so many reasons.)
"Apollo is a himbo."
People say the darnedest things. You really have to wonder what possesses someone to talk about religious figures in such a way, but you know what, if it works for their practice, then good for them. I'm not a big fan of the fandomization of the gods, and I definitely agree with you, Nonny. I won't say these people don't love these deities, but I can understand where you're coming from. It feels like they love the deities in an obsessive fan type of way sometimes, but that's not for me to say, really.

Some silly Odyhermes ideas:
While I see Ody as bottom with Zeus or Poseidon, I think he'd definitely be a switch with Hermes 👀
Odysseus doesn't know that Hermes is his great grandfather, Hermes thinks that Ody actually knows, so he doesn't say anything. Ody realizes the truth only when Hermes tells him a funny story about Autolycus, his demigod, shapeshifting son, and Ody is like "what? that was my grandfather??". Hermes is just confused for a minute.
Hermes is really possessive, despite his silly guy persona. His blood (ichor?) boils when Calypso throws herself at Ody. He gets angry seeing the rivarly between Poseidon and Odysseus, whether it's shippy or not. And he gets annoyed, when Ody talks about Penelope, or spends time with her. He tries to somewhat tolerate her, but he does poor job at it.
Ody doesn't believe in Hermes' story, about baby Hermes making a lyre out of a turtle, and killing the immortal cattle of Apollo. That is, until Hermes "jokingly" wants to show Ody how he did it. He drops it seeing Ody getting flashbacks about Eury killing the cattle. He may be a little shit, but he still cares for Ody, and doesn't want to see him distressed 🥺
Ody usually can't see Hermes' eyes (typical hc in this fandom lol). When he does, it's either when Hermes gets really serious about some topic, or when Hermes is acting like a silly guy in love, making him lose his helmet, when his guard is down. Ody thinks his (probably inhuman) eyes are pretty, but he won't say that.
Hermes, despite everything, is a really sweet boyfriend. Whenever Ody tells Athena about Hermes, she gets snnoyed. Hermes would talk about how cute and smart Ody is, when he's with Hades or Persephone, doing his job.
I thinks that's all of these? I just really like this rarepair 👉👈
How did I become the person people come to for Odyhermes things. Like I don’t mind but like still huh
(Also, I wanna make it clear that while I do love Odyhermes, I love it in like a slightly unhealthy context, with a clear power imbalance and a very obsessive Hermes. That shit’s my jam people)
I once saw someone say that Hermes has the vibe of either a mean dom or a bratty sub, and like I couldn’t agree more, and I say both. He’d probably enjoy it a lot when Ody takes control (even tho he’s being a menace about it), but he also likes putting his mortal in his place
Poor Ody would probably have a bit of a crisis and possibly be a bit weirded out over the fact that Hermes is related to him, and like poor silly guy just has no idea why because his family is basically just incest, he has no idea that it’s seen as bad for mortals. (Ody has even more of a crisis when he realises he’s fucking related to both the Cyclops and Poseidon)
Dude I liiiiiiiive for possessive Hermes (case that wasn’t clear lol). Especially him being extremely jealous at basically every god who interacts with his mortal. He’s more fine with it when it’s other mortals, since he sees the majority of them as “lesser”, but Penelope does get on his nerves occasionally.
Hermes does not understand the concept of PTSD, or why sometimes when he does certain things or mention certain people his mortal gets all distressed and upset, but he does try and correct himself when he can. Maybe he should ask Dionysus about that
I imagine the first time Ody saw Hermes eyes it was by like, complete accident, like they were both a lil drunk and Hermes accidentally knocked into a low hanging branch of a tree, and his lil helmet just flew off, and the messenger god was to busy giggling to even notice. Despite their haunting emptiness (I have always headcanoned Hermes eyes to be just the sclera, which is why he tends to hide them, he thinks they look boring), Ody finds them strangely beautiful. So if Hermes allows his helmet to come off a little more often when with his mortal, or if he “accidentally” forgets to put it on sometimes, well neither of them comment on it.
Oh Hermes will just never shut up about Odysseus. The messenger god is a gossip and a chatter box, so he usually fills the silence in some way, no matter who he’s with, though it’s usually discussions about the happenings on mount Olympus. The moment he met Ody tho, he was all that mattered to him. When he wasn’t watching his mortal, he was chattering about him to anyone who would listen, which is for the most part not a lot of people, as one can only stand Hermes for so long. But even his usual conversation partners, Apollo, Hestia, Thanatos, Iris, Dionysus, grew kinda tired of hearing about this one mortal and his escapades. Wing boy don’t care tho, he will hover after his targets, chittering away, until they either attack him or try to rip their own ears off. That won’t stop him though.
Odyhermes shippers, feel very free to rant to me about the ship. This is a safe space and I love having you here, even tho I’m confused. We’re scarce but we’re strong!

the prince and the princess. / jason grace x daughter of hera! reader dating headcanons!
a / n : i can't stop thinking abt him lately, sorry folks! and yes, since i am a sucker for 'history repeats itself' troupe, i am writing daughter of hera fic AGAIN. proud and hot 🎀
warnings : cursing, pure love, jason being a little cocky because i know rick didn't gave him enough credit
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- can we agree that hera is so happy?
- her champion and daughter being together?? dream coming true
- and she knows jason will treat you good, unlike his father did to her
- so you guys already have her approval and we don't care about zeus / jupiter in this household
- back to you cutesies
- jason is so husband material
- like you're so much like your mother, but he isn't like his father
- for example ;;
- you'd be angry about something—anything really, and jason would calmly continue to read his book, murmuring 'it's okay sweetie' or 'yes, you're right. you're always right baby' once in a while to make sure you know he's listening
- most of the children of hera suffers from jealousy, so if your fatal flaw is jealousy, he'd do this 10 times more
- but he's not bored, he thinks this is an ideal relationship because you never act toxic towards him
- just sometimes a little bit more jealous but that's okay, jason loves it
- you guys are the prince and princess, like the name of this fic
- you two visit olympus more than any demigod seriously
- you having therapy sessions with your mother while jason gets angry at zeus for making hera sad again
- you do couple therapy for them fr
- back to jason being a husband
- i don't know how, but he makes heart shaped thunders in camp when he's out on a quest
- call it connection and him being powerful, but it's just so romantic
- like whenever a heart shaped thunder appears, the campers are like 'yup, that's jason missing y/n right there'
- you guys already have promise rings
- mother and father of the camp
- like, literally
- you're so good with kids, such a mother material (wow what a suprise), and he's such a father bro
- he's so good and gentle with kids?? it makes you wanna cry and throw up from love
- your favorite flowers on your door every sunday
- and he gaves it as one, for you to collect them and make a bouquet yourself
- he already made a deal with the hecate or demeter or persephone kids for the flowers to never die
- power couple by the way but i don't think i have to mention this
- i imagine children of hera being the opposite of the children of the nyx, like owning the sky and heavens, but they're powerful as much
- not more powerful, read carefuly.
- and yeah, owning the sky together? what a couple can do more than that
- flying dates whenever you feel stressed
- visiting the old temples
- constantly hearing the 'hera and zeus' jokes

things that I overlooked in PJO the first time / small, funny things I noticed during my reread
Part 3: The Titan's Curse
The truth was I was kind of disappointed to hear that she liked her new school so much. It was the first time she'd gone to school in New York. I'd been hoping to see her more often.
I tried to concentrate on little things, like the crepe-paper streamers and the punch bowl - anything but that fact that Annabeth was taller than me, and my hands were sweaty and probably gross, and I kept stepping on her toes.
"The General?" I asked. Then I realised I'd said it in a French accent. "I mean... who's the General?" I want this part to be in the show
"Sweet! Let's go! [to CHB]" said Nico. this breaks my heart. he was so excited in this book
Tyson thought Annabeth was just about the coolest thing since peanut butter (and he seriously loved peanut butter).
"How would you kidnap an immortal goddess? Is that even possible?" "Well, yeah. I mean, it happened to Persephone." "But she was like, the goddess of flowers." Grover looked offended. "Springtime." you tell him grover
"That's some serious danger you're facing." Connor Stoll said. (I liked how he said you and not we.) I'm just imagining the rest of the campers not bothering to go on quests cause it's always the same few demigods and they don't care, they're just chilling safe at CHB while Percy and Annabeth do their things
The creature looked at me sadly. "Moooo!" But I couldn't understand his thoughts. I only speak horse. Percy Jackson speaks two languages: English and Horse
With a shiver, I realised that five hundred or a thousand years from now, Bianca di Angelo would look exactly the same as she did today. She might be having a conversation like this with some other half blood long after I was dead but Bianca would still look twelve years old. ouch
"It wants to kill us!" Thalia said. "Of course." Grover said. "It's wild!" "So how is that a blessing?" Bianca asked.
"That's us," he said. "Those five nuts right there." "Which one is me?" I asked. "The little deformed one," Zoe suggested.
When she smiled at me, just for a moment she looked a little like Annabeth. I know everyone talks about this part but I can't help but bring it up again, they are so cute
"Woah, first of all, I never said anything about love. And second, what's up with tragic!" little does he know. also, Percy is so incredibly insightful in this book but he's also so jealous of Annabeth and Luke and so upset about the idea of her joining the hunters yet still can't figure out that he likes her
"Seven hundred feet tall," I said. "Built in the 1930s." "Five million cubic acres of water," Thalia said. Grover sighed. "Largest construction project in the United States." Zoe stared at us. "How do you know all that?" "Annabeth," I said. "She liked architecture." I cannot explain how much this little bit means to me.
The girl I'd just tried to slice in half yelped and dropped her Kleenex. "Oh my god." she shouted. "Do you always kill people when they blow their nose?" Rachel's here!!! I love her
Five minutes later, Zoe had me outfitted in a ragged flannel shirt and jeans three sizes too big, bright red sneakers, and a floppy rainbow hat. someone draw this and tag me. what an outfit
Suddenly it occurred to me: this had happened to her before. She had been cornered on Half-Blood Hill. She'd willingly given her life for her friends. But this time, she couldn't save us. How could I let that happen to her? he is the most empathetic, wholesome guy, I love Percy
"Can't this go any faster?" Thalia demanded. Zoe glared at her. "I cannot control traffic." You both sound like my mother." I said. "Shut up!" they said in unison. I kind of wish we got more Thalia and Zoe interactions... they would've made such a great enemies to lovers dynamic, if Zoe didn't die
"Get away from my daughter!" Dr Chase called down, and his machine gun burst to life, peppering the ground with bullet holes and startling the whole group of monsters into scattering. "Dad?" yelled Annabeth in disbelief.
Grover went off with his satyr friends to spread the word about our strange encounter with the magic of Pan. Within an hour, the satyrs were all running around agitated, asking where the nearest espresso bar was.
"No," I said. "I choose the prophecy. It will be about me." "Why are you saying that?" she cried. "You want to be responsible for the whole world?" It was the last thing I wanted, but I didn't say that. I knew I had to step up and claim it. "I can't let Nico be in any more danger." I said. might I remind you this boy is 13/14 and has the whole world on his shoulders (both literally at some point and figuratively)
I feel like these are just getting longer and longer but again, I will be back for part 4!

Reader cursing at Luke is her love language
Masterlist
Luke was always struggeling to keep up relationships with people. He had Chris as the ever lasting person in his life since they first met at Camp Halfblood when they were 14 years old. After that, everyone was coming and going but noone really stayed for long.
You only joined his life later. Having spent most of your life in the Underworld with your mother, social normes and interactions with living people were a riddle to you.
Long story short, you were... a challenge for most people. Not that they didnt like you. The younger kids loved you and even Dionysus gave you a smirk whenever you left behind a slightly distressed demigod that tried to challenge you.
Maybe you weren't from this realm but that certainly did not mean that you didn't like it at the camp. You were craving the space that the Underworld couldn't offer you. It was only a matter of time that someone would fall for you.
By chance, that was a certain son of Hermes. Luke fell for you just as bad as you fell for him. You knew he was complicated. He was reaching for the stars but got disappointed over and over again since he was a baby.
Luke was in a bad headspace today. He didnt really know when the idea crept up to him. Maybe it was because the gods let him down for one too many times. He had been questioning your love for him for the last few days while he rotted away in bed, trying not to neglect too many of his tasks.
He needed proof of your love. Proof that you would not leave him behind like everyone else did. He contemplated talking to you but proud as he was, he quickly discarded that idea and stirred up a plan instead.
A fake breakup.
It would give him the opportunity to see your raw reaction. And he could find out if you were serious about him. Or even glad to get rid off him? Luke didn't want to think about that. He loved you after all.
"You entered the Hermes Cabin after sword practice this afternoon. You were a little sweaty and your clothes had dust stains on it from the sand in the arena. Luke was laying on his bed, his arm covering his eyes. You thought that maybe he was sleeping so you tiptoed over to your bed and started taking off your boots.
Luke shuffled on his bed and groaned as he sat up. He smiled tiredly as he looked up to find you watching him. "Hey." He mumbled but his expression dropped soon. You looked at him confused.
"What's up, darling?" You asked while you put your boots to the side. Luke got up and approached you. "I thought about something all day... can we talk?" He asked. You nodded. "Of course. What's bothering you?"
Luke looked around. Besides the two of you, everyone was out of the cabin running around somewhere else. The situation was perfect... He sighed. "I... there is something." He said hesitating, fiddling with his hands. This was not normal. You frowned. Your Luke was never this nervous about talking to you.
"Im breaking up with you." He whispered in a low tone, barely able to get the words over his lips. He could see your world shatter into pieces. Your expression dropped and a couple of dead moths fell from the ceiling, making Luke cringe away a little.
Finally, you broke out of your freezed and shocked state.
"What?! No, no, no, no." You said, tears dwelling up in your eyes. Luke tried to pull his gaze away from you and turned around to the cabin door. There formed a single tear in his eyes too. He hated seeing you cry.
You grabbed his wrist and pulled him back to face you. "Why would you break up with me?" You sobbed. Luke looked at you irritated, trying to keep his sadness down. "You deserve someone better than me." He grumbled under his breath. You pushed him against the wall by his shoulders angrily.
"I wanted our kids to have your eyes." You yelled at Luke, tears streaming down your face. "What?" Luke asked, suddenly taken aback. You violently tried to whip the tears from your face, smearing some dust onto your cheeks.
"Our kids need to have your eyes!" You sobbed and suddenly Luke wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close to him. You tried to push him away but he kept you in his embrace. After a few seconds, you stop trying to free yourself and let your head fall against his chest.
At first you thought Luke was crying too, from the way his shoulders were moving up and down in a quick, steady rhythm but soon you noticed that the bastard was actually laughing.
"I hate you." You mumbled between a few sniffs. "I know." Luke whispered, there was a light chuckled in his voice that he failed to swallow down. "Thats okay. Its what i deserve."
"Luke Castellan, i hate you so, so much. We will meet in Tartarus if you dont quit the bullshit right now." You weakly slapped his chest. "But i love you. Please, this was not real?" Your sobs died down as you leaned against his chest.
Luke swallowed heavily and finally, after a long moment, shook his head. You exhaled and sobbed again, this time because of the relief rushing through your body.
You leaned up to wrap your arms around him too, holding him close. You buried your hand in his hair and made him look at you. "You were kidding, right?" Luke nodded hesitantly, worried you would make some more dead animals fall from the sky.
You wanted to slap Luke. But that is not what you do to your boyfriend, at least not right now. Instead you rested your head on his shoulder and rubbed your tears dry on his tshirt.
"Hey." Luke complained, trying to push you off but you pressed him against the wall and continued to use him as your personal tissue paper. "That's your punishment, you idiot." Luke carassed your hair and let you go on with you drying your tears.
"Why did you do this?" You asked. Luke looked away, ashamed that he actually thought this was a good idea. You put a hand on his cheek and made him look at you. "This is not what i think about it is, is it?" You asked with a shocke expression.
Luke nodded slowly, lowering his gaze. You sighed and leaned against his forehead. "I really love you, otherwise i wouldn't keep you as my boyfriend. Luke nodded slowly, accepting.
"Luke?" "Mhh?" He hummed. "Will you be my boyfriend again?" You asked. A slight smile crept up on your face but you tried to hide it to not let Luke win just right away. Luke chuckled, his mood becoming a little better again. "If you truly want that." You groaned and bumped your head on his shoulder a few times.
"Just say yes, you morron." "Yes." He whispered. You pet his hair a little. "Good boy." You grinned at Luke, who now rolled his eyes. "But i am not having children with you until we both got a job." He argued but it ended up in a laugh. He was laughing at the absurdity of this situation.
Now it was you rolling your eyes. "Fine. Reasonable." You grumbled and pouted at him a little. Luke smiled and wrapped his arms around you extra tight. "Did you mean it? My eyes, really?" He asked. You huffed.
"I was never before this serious in my life." You stated firmly. Luke leaned forward to kiss the tip of your nose. You scrunched your nose sweetly and peppered his face with small kisses.
"So... if i mess up you will throw dead animals at me?" Luke asked mockingly, as you pulled back. You grumbled and slapped Luke's chest again.
"If you dont cut the bullshit, i will stuff a dead rat into your pillow case."

if hades 1 was about a toxic family and learning what can and can't be healed, one of the things i'm most looking forward to in hades 2 is how melinoë's reunion with the hades fam is going to affect things
on the one hand i'm sure they'd each love her no matter what, and as a bonus, she seems more responsible than zag (hades approves); she's a gardener and level-headed (persephone approves); and zag would be thrilled to have a partner in crime, not to mention another god with red blood so he'd feel less alone. so it's nice to imagine things might be fine when they all meet. but on the other hand mel feels like a perfectionist who doesn't share her negative emotions as easily as zag (big hades energy) so things could also get worse when half your family is emotionally stunted/doesn't want to talk about the trauma you've all gone through
i think zag will take meeting her well, but will be fighting the classic oldest sibling "you're getting the better version of dad, back in MY day he would insult me for BREATHING" urge constantly. maybe we'll overhear a conversation about it between him and hades. i could see it maybe being a small side conversation with mel at one point, but i think/hope zag is self-aware enough that he wouldn't want her to think or worry about that sort of thing.
that said, he's mad jealous that hecate gave her so much freedom and her own funds already?? mel's like "? why wouldn't i have money of my own? headmistress allows me a budget for my potion ingredients and i stick to it, then she started giving me more for books and things i like" and zag's chewing his lip to pulp cause he was three hundred years old before hades would allow him to even touch money and that was only the stuff he plundered from tartarus
not even getting into hades and persephone trying to process "adult?? daughter??? daughter is adult???" (poor persephone has gone through this feeling twice.) i think zag will process better because he's more inclined to see a sibling as an equal but mel's parents were planning on raising a baby, not... meeting a fully-grown perfectionist witch who talks to frogs and color-codes her potion ingredients and logs every unsuccessful run with a list of things she did wrong and areas to improve

With getting to know more about Melinoe and the general feel of the story, I've been wondering about the what would occur after beating Chronos. Especially when it comes to brainstorming the potential family dynamics between them after she sets Hades, Persephone and Zagreus free.
Given the context of the game, with Mel only holding a vague sense loyalty to them, I can imagine that their early interactions are going to be uncomfortable for her. She's only heard stories about them, knew that Hecate was a close friend along with some other details but not much else.
It going to be difficult for them to grow their relationships with her, especially for Persephone and Zagreus who for them, literally saw Mel as a baby a few moments before they were frozen. Knowing the events of the first game, you know that they are going to be devastated.
It took Persephone less than a second to recognise Melinoe and realise what happened. It didn't take much consideration especially when looking around the room or even the rest of the house.
As for Zagreus, I have the feeling that he would be in a brief case of denial upon first getting set free. Which is reasonable because what do you mean his literal baby sister killed Chronos and set him, and everyone else who was in the house free? He saw her two minutes ago!
I think the whole situation would be tough for them, especially if Mel is probably going to deal with the fallout of Chronos rule, tracking the more threatening beings still under his rule. Because, just because Chronos is vanquished doesn't mean that everything becomes okay right away. I think it would be an 'all hands on deck' situation with everyone on Olympus, the Underworld and at the Crossroads working together to deal with the traitors still working under Chronos.
Every once in a while, Mel would come back to the Crossroads to see a roster of characters there and away during each night. Each time, we see her slowly understand how much she meant to her family before the house was sacked.
Hades would make occasional visits there to see how she is. Even to talk to Hecate on occasion to talk about her childhood.
Persephone would be up at the Crossroads, more often than Hades would be, being the more active participant in trying to get to know her and learn more about her life.
Zagreus would come too, not as often as his mother but more than their father, sometimes found talking to talking with some of the other gods and shades around the camp or sometimes looking exploring different parts of the camp before he has to make his eventual return to the Underworld.
(Mel has offered to do the same spell for him and Hades to remain on the surface but they refused. They have jobs to do, much like everyone else and doesn't her waste her magic on them. At least not for now.)
And although happy with her family's return, things are still...odd. She doesn't really know what to talk or interact with them about that isn't about the war. Similarly, no one really knows how to really interact with her as well. in the quiet moments when they don't show up, Mel is grapples with the fact that she is relieved that no one showed up because she doesn't have to put up with the awkwardness.
It's during their visits to the Crossroad is when the foundation of their relationships are made.
Hades is the easiest for her to talk to. They talk about her studies, training and her exploration throughout the realms. Even discussing Hypnos at some points. There are some mentions of some happy childhood memories, but sometimes he would get a little bit upset. Hades would talk with her about if she will be taking the time to develop some hobbies now she has more free time. Mel hasn't and frankly wants to keep herself busy before she gets to that point.
Persephone meanwhile, is a little more difficult to interact. Her mother wants to discuss about to everything about to life, wanting to make more of an effort to establish a relationship with Mel. It isn't as smooth with her as it is with Zagreus but with Mel being similar to Hades, the two of them eventually find some common ground. Hades encourages her to give Persephone more time while Zagreus offers her hint to help with figure out what to talk about.
Zagreus however, she has the hardest time to understand. He's like their mother and father, but not... He's chatty, always smiling like their mother, making friends with so many others. But in the moments where he is alone, she sees more of a resemblance with their father. Quiet. Even melancholic.
He takes the time to learn about Mel, while letting her come to him on her own time. When she does, he shares combat tips with and even fighting her on an occasion too whenever she wants to fight with someone one-to-one. He also give ideas on what hobbies to explore whenever she want to go ahead a pursue them. E.g. fishing (mainly to feed her animals). He doesn't know whether or not he's please to know how much she takes after their father. If she does make it to Tartarus, like with Than, he makes it into a game.
Although initially seeming fine about the whole situation, in the more quiet moments, their true feelings about the situation are revealed.
Hades muttering to Hecate about wanting Mel to not have to deal with Chronos or his war. She shouldn't have to deal with this, fates and other Gods be damn. Melinoe should've had a childhood, not raised to deal with his familial mishaps. It reminds his own mishaps as a parent and being chained up for so long gave him ample opportunity to do so.
Persephone whispering to Nyx about being upset for missing another one of her children's lives. She had always wanted to be a mother to children, and while she is eternally grateful for Nyx raising Zagreus, she never got to be there for him as Nyx. With Melinoe, she thought she had her chance to be there for her, to at least one of her children to grow up. And then, in a matter of moments, her little nymph is now a fully grown goddess. Persephone was denied the chance of motherhood not once but twice. It reenforces some feelings that destiny seems to be against her. Though, in reality she knows its not true, with Nyx telling her so, Persephone can't help but feel that way.
Zagreus while not as affected as their parents, is just disappointed. He was really looking forward to being an older brother to her, even though he knew from Meg and Than that siblings could be complicated, he was still excited to have her at the house. Because he promised himself that even if things got complicated, he would be there for her even if their parents weren't. But now that Mel is fully grown and he kind of doesn't know how to navigate it. But he will be there, along with their parents for her develop their bond and says that to her.
This would be a turning-point for Melinoe and how she evaluated her familial relationship. To be more open minded to her father's advice and develop more hobbies when at the Crossroads, more initiative with Persephone and a chance to spend time with Zagreus to figure out where they are. It's not smooth by any means but its appreciated.
Along with this, Nyx and Thanatos are reunited with their family, talking about what happened since the house was captured with Hypnos essentially being in a comatose state since. Plus, learning what Eris had been up to since.
At the moment, we don't really know what's happening with the other Furies, at least i don't think so. With Tisiphone and Alecto not allowed in Tartarus, its likely the two of them escaped upon hearing the house was conquered, serving either as intel for the Crossroads or as its guards and defenders. Fighting for their captured sister.

okay, after this post of mine, @starry-bite gave me the excuse I was fiending for to talk about Emily and Persephone, so here we go, largely in stream of consciousness:
Hades' abduction of Persephone is explicitly non-consensual--from the very onset with Zeus and Hades conniving about her capture, to the "[seizing]" of her as she picks flowers, to the feeding of the pomegranate seeds knowing it would doom her, a fact that she deliberately does not know herself
and while Emily consents to the assignment and becoming Lauren Reynolds, there is so much that that identity entails, so much where saying no or de-participating simply isn't an option. her consent isn't comprehensive, and we can only imagine the situations she was put in. I think of her exchange with Jade in S17E10, where Jade asks "do you know that feeling when you're staring up at the ceiling and you're thinking, what if it's all bullshit? maybe it's after a preacher's sermon or your dad yelling at you" and Emily chimes in, agreeing, with "or some man is done holding you down." her consent could never be explicit while undercover, nor could her agency ever be meaningfully restored
also sorry, we were talking about being seized as she picks flowers?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it's also worth mentioning that the Homeric Hymn to Demeter explicitly details the flowers in question as largely purple: "She was picking flowers: roses, crocus, and beautiful violets. [...] Iris blossoms too she picked, and hyacinth"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then there's the gimmel ring as her pomegranate seeds, this cyclical and enduring tether to doyle--you mean to tell me she kept it all those years and didn't once think about it? the devastating weight of it in that safe of hers? @eyesontheskyline nudges at this so well in her most recent fic, every right thing:
Tumblr media
Emily doesn't ask for this tether but she has it nonetheless, couldn't shed it if she tried. and she does try--she flushes it, but the ring remains in the bowl for Rossi to find and retrieve. I wonder often about where the ring goes from there, and shocker, I'm once again quoting @eyesontheskyline, but from no such thing as over this this time:
Tumblr media
it lingers, pulling her back to his hell. and even in its absence, the brand does the same--marking her with a symbol that should rightfully belong to persephone, a symbol of verdance, of her mother the goddess of agriculture, of spring and the very same meadows from which she was abducted. a symbol that has instead been bastardized to represent him.
and then, of course, is the love. that could be its own post entirely, couldn't it? the love she fought but felt anyway, dark and destructive but real. Persephone developing a form of love for Hades as she saw beyond the darkness of his realm and understood his loneliness. Emily offering "I could get you out"--
--and if he had said yes? what then?

ten storylines u think could have been amazing in lo if they had been handled better?
10 already feels like so much for a story like LO buuttt:
1.) the act of wrath plotline, seriously this one felt like it had some of the most lost potential as one of LO's more unique plotlines (and it lost that potential as soon as it was turned into some "oopsy" committed by persephone due to her wrath being a 'gift' from eris when she was a baby??? still bugs me so much ugh) give me back that dichotomy of Persephone and her internalized wrath, dangit.
2.) the Eros and Psyche plotline. it started off so promising as a parallel B-plot to H x P and then seemed to just get dropped halfway through S1 when Psyche got turned into a nymph.
3.) Echo's involvement as a double agent for Zeus. that was clearly the intention when she was introduced but then she was promptly dropped and only showed up again to say "fuck you Zeus" with zero build-up or implication that she had a change of heart. Like imagine if we actually saw her leaking info back to Zeus but then also getting closer to Hera on a personal level and realizing that she didn't want to keep snitching on her. it would have also made the 'big reveal' of Hera kissing Echo a lot more impactful because then they would have had an actual story arc.
4.) Persephone's character development into becoming the Dread Queen. Right now the story wants us to think that Persephone is somehow "better than ever" despite the fact that her version of the "Dread Queen" is being an absolute Karen. But think of how it could have been if her character de-evolution was the point, to show how Hades had corrupted her. Or if they were meant to be actual shitty people and not shitty people that the narrative was trying to convince us were good.
5.) Hades' and Minthe's relationship. It goes without saying that Minthe was wrong to turn to physical violence, but I'll die on the hill that Minthe wasn't being treated fairly by Hades, either. Those three flashback episodes in S2 leading up to Minthe getting turned into a plant were such a missed opportunity to showcase how Minthe became as bitter as she did towards Hades and what their relationship was actually like in the beginning (and why they liked each other in the first place which they very clearly did) but instead it just dragged its heels because obv Rachel didn't want people empathizing with Minthe.
6.) Ares being used as a tool for war by Zeus. It's clear being sent off to these wars is taking its toll on him and it's created a steep divide within the family, especially concerning how protective Ares is of Hera esp when it comes to how Zeus treats her.
7.) The Aphrodite / Hephaestus plotline. Good god I have no idea what the thought process was behind this one, some of the myths she kinda got away with flipping but this was the one that made the least sense to flip. There was so much potential there that was squandered, a lot of it at the expense of Aphrodite and Ares as traditionally powerful and respected gods.
8.) Hades' alcoholism. Minthe was right, simply falling for Persephone and dropping the cigars and brandy to make himself look better for her doesn't make him a changed person. If the alcoholism was linked to his trauma, why didn't we explore that more? Why couldn't we have seen him actually pursue proper recovery and have it not just be "I'm hot for the 19 year old girl but if I'm drinking constantly that'll make me look bad so I'm just gonna put on the best fake persona I can to make her fall in love with me" instead of actually getting to the root of his issues?
9.) The SA plotline. As much as I talk about how shitty it is, I have zero issue with the original depiction of it, I think it was very accurate especially when it comes to coercion. A lot of people assume SA has to be violent, kicking and screaming, begging for help, but coercive assault is often a lot quieter and more about manipulation which that scene nailed in depicting. It's just everything after that that feels completely misfired and more so for the purpose of making Hades look like a better person simply by comparing him to Apollo on the basis of "he never assaulted Persephone!" and it drives me nuts.
10.) Demeter's winter. In the most recent FP episode, while discussing it with pals, all I could really say was, "This was supposed to be a retelling of the Abduction of Persephone". And Demeter's winter is a core part of that story, one of its biggest purposes in Greek culture was using the myths to explain the creation of the seasons. Despite this being a "retelling" of the Abduction of Persephone / Hymn to Demeter, one of the most important characters in the entire myth has been reduced to, at worst, a Mother Gothel Disney villain, and at best, a pointless NPC.

What if mirabel gets a gift that is connected to demeter Gia and persephone? Basically, since the candle and Casita like her more, they gave her something like that. I know that Isabella has a gift like that, but the magic isn't happy that she was just not growing anything else.
Bahahahahaha! AHAHAHAHA! That's hilarious.
Isabela; minding her business, growing flowers, doing her thing.
The Miracle; actually, you know what, screw you. specifically. just cuz.
Or at least that's how she'll see it. Imagine for a moment , that you're Isabela. You're doing your best at your role, being the golden child, setting the example. Always pretty, always graceful, always perfect. Never a hair out of place. And lately, your annoying little sister is even more aggravating then usual. Probably because the town is in trouble.
The crops that feed the town are failing. Tía Pepa is out all day, doing her best but it's not just the weather, it's the soil, and the water from the river and a bunch of other things Isabela doesn't understand. People are talking about going on rations, there's not enough to feed the town much less sell to the outside. If the crops fail, the village fails, and if the village fails, people will turn on the family. At least that's what Abuela says.
The family must be strong, and unshakable, now more than ever you must present well. You must help in anyway you can, be the example, be perfect. It feels useless. People are hungry and you can't help them, your gift only a distraction from the troubles. The family meals start to go thin, everyone's patience even thinner.
And then, a door appears. You think it must be for Antonio, but he's too young and his has been there since he was born, a faint outline growing in the wall. This one is bright and glowing and ready.
It's for her.
The family is tense and quiet, with whispered discussions and wary glances. You can only think of how much worse it will be when she fails again. Mirabel, shaking head to toe, touches the doorknob, and the bright glow forms into an image of her, with an apple cupped in her hands.
The room is enormous, rows and rows of berry patches and corn stalks and lettuce heads and barley. In the center of it all is an apple tree, large and heavy with fruit. There's a patch of plump, bright red strawberries next to you, you pluck one and bite into it. It's one of the best strawberries you've ever had. Wouldn't you be infuriated?
Their powers are similar but the divide is clear; Isabela makes flowers, Mirabel makes food.
No matter how hard Isabela tries she can not push her blossoms past their flowering, no plant she makes can bear fruit. And no matter how hard Mirabel tries, she can not restrain her sprouts and freeze their blooming, her plants must produce.
Isabela is beautiful and has perfect manners. Mirabel is charismatic and thoughtful.
Isabela is always preferred but Mirabel is always needed.
(something something about how Isabela can't make things of substance and is trapped in a box and how Mirabel can't just do something, it must also be of use or it doesn't count something something)
Mirabel's life turns on its head so fast it probably makes her dizzy. All of a sudden people are very happy to see her and quick to include her. She walks through the fields with Pepa and together with the farmers they restore the crops. From that other Madrigal to town hero in like a week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She can make a wide variety of high-quality and expensive fruits and vegetables, livening up the dinner table and stimulating the economy. She'd probably try to make those edited grapes. Her golden earrings would be apples but you know Mirabel would wear all kinds of food earrings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, Mirabel would want to do more, and would strive to become the apple (pun intended) of Alma's eye. She makes her own spices and gifts them to people in homemade jars, as well as jams and jellies. This gift would probably bring her closer to Julieta as well and she'd be all over the kitchen, learning to cook and bake, she's quite known for her fruit pies and always has some new recipe or exotic fruit for the family to try.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think, despite apple being her symbol, Mirabel really likes orange blossoms and is a bit sad she can't grow them. She wishes she could see butterflies and other pollinators around her, so she grows them from scratch in the corner of her room. If she uses her powers at all they lose their petals and sprout oranges, and she's not dumb enough to ask Isabela, their relationship as complicated as it is.

Athena & Penelope bonding fic!!! (this is long before Penelope even meets Odysseus)
@dootznbootz I think you might like this one 😗
“Can I share a secret with you, Penelope?”
Penelope tried not to make it too obvious that she was surprised when Athena addressed her not only by her name but also in a casual manner like she was talking to a friend. There had always been an established distance between gods and mortals. Yet just now, Athena bridged said distance without a second thought.
But Penelope knew better than to get cocky and take advantage of the sudden bestow of friendliness from the patron goddess of her kingdom. She paused her unfinished work on the loom and respectfully turned her whole body toward Athena.
“Of course, my Lady,” Penelope bowed low, “Whatever we exchange in this chamber shall stay behind closed doors.”
Athena chuckled and bent her neck at an unusual angle (almost owl-like, Penelope thought) to look at the princess next to her. And while Athena met Penelope’s eyes, her long, clever fingers never stopped dancing across the tapestry in the making like butterflies flitting from flower to flower.
“I enjoy weaving with you more than my sisters,” the goddess admitted.
“Oh…,” Penelope had not expected such a confession from her. It was common for women with sisters to gossip such things to their friends, but not a literal goddess. She could only reply softly, “Then I’m honored that my humble company is pleasant to you.”
“If truth be told, daughter of Icarius,” as Athena smiled, the sides of her bright eyes deepened with crinkles, “You are always a delight to be with.”
The goddess’ honesty was a gentle soothe to Penelope’s beating heart. She returned with a sheepish yet appreciative grin, the corner of her lip lifted just enough to reveal her peculiarly sharp teeth.
“Do not get me wrong, though,” Athena continued like a pottery turned upside down and poured all out, with Penelope watching her pulling several green-dyed threads, “I love my sisters as dearly as you love your kin, but they are embarrassing to watch with the loom. Persephone would try to improvise the material only for the robes she made to fall apart when someone put them on. And Artemis… where do I even begin? She had broken three looms before finally understanding how to string the first thread.”
Pious and composed as she was, even Penelope couldn’t help but giggle at how exasperated Athena sounded, “I can only imagine how difficult it was for you to teach the Maiden and the Huntress.”
Athena did not dismiss, “Oh, it was a century and a half of labor in Sicily.”
Sicily. The name rang familiar with the princess. The sacred island where her city’s patron was brought up in, a place she held near and dear to her heart, perhaps above all other lands, if the myths were true. It was then Penelope noticed the patterns that Athena had been working on had solidified into the outlines of three women - undoubtedly Athena herself and her sisters whom she had been talking about, Artemis and Persephone - on the vibrant green background, which was the Himeran field they spent their days with each other.
The realization that even the divine beings, who roamed the earth before the dawn of humanity, were once born from their mothers and shared a childhood with their loved ones was very enlightening to her. Many moons ago, regal Athena was once a young goddess who frolicked on the grass field like a carefree girl with her family, basking under the gleaming sun and warm springs and fragrant flowers. Just like Penelope did with her sister and cousins when they were little kids.
“Yet you remain patient with them the whole time,” Penelope said, then offered her insight, “Pardon me if my assumption might be bold, but perhaps teaching your sisters wasn’t the sole reason you stayed with them for so long, but it was the joyous time you had together.”
Another mirthful laugh was planted in Athena’s chest, this time she halted her weaving to sit and laugh to her content. The goddess of wisdom had always enjoyed the outspokenness of her favorite mortals, and Penelope was perhaps one of her favorites when it came to cunning speeches.
“Yes,” the Olympian goddess mused and returned another direct look at the Spartan princess, “That you are right, Penelope.”
This time, the name truly felt warm and endearing.

The Vignette Theory
The vignettes and event stories are all part of the dream world Malleus created and here's proof!
First off when Malleus first used his - what I believe to be- unique magic "Fae of Maleficent", thorns went inward just like when a card is groovified.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are the exact same. This is incredibly important because it reveals a direct connection between the cards and Malleus's magic. Moreover, there has been a lot of discussion about the wonky timelines of the cards which I won't be going too deep into.
My argument is that ALL of the vignettes and events were dreams or memories. They all took place inside Malleus's realm. Even the ones where Ortho, Idia, and Silver were the main characters. Although it might seem strange, there is no other way it could work. I think that when the dream started their memories or as described by the Shroud family, their "servers" got connected to Malleus, and all their memories were uploaded. Even though Malleus is not sure of all their memories and probably can't assess all that information, those memories are a part of his realm and that's the backstory to why we have a lot of the vignettes in the game.
The Conundrum With Those Who Are Awake
According to my theory, it's technically impossible for Ortho and Silver to have any dreams. Therefore they shouldn't have so many vignettes....and they don't. First, take Ortho- he has very few vignettes completely about him. Most of them could be from other people's memories like his gym uniform could be the Leech brothers, the White Rabbit Festival could be Duece's dream, and so forth. Even the vignettes where no one should be aware of everything going on with Ortho are easily explained. Ruggie knows about Ortho's actions in the Wish Upon a Star event and other characters might have their own understanding of Ortho's personality. From what we've seen so far, the dreams are fairly realistic. Even the Dawn Knight in Lilia's dream seems to have his own past. Especially when he refers to the origin of his 'ring'.
Tumblr media
Silver also tends not to be a main character for most of the vignettes. In the Halloween Soiree, Jamil and Silver get to know each other as they travel around the afterworld/ghost realm. This is one of the few times where Silver acts open and reveals a lot about himself. How does Jamil or whoever is dreaming up that vignette have this information. Well- as previously explained, all the characters' memories are now part of Maleeus's dream realm. The short time Silver was not awake and the information Sebek and Lilia -importantly Malleus- had about Silver allowed Jamil to learn about it in his dream.
Tumblr media
It's also possible that Silver was already open about his stories and life so everyone can predict what he might say.
Thank you all for reading my ramblings, let me know if I missed something and I'll try to get to it in another post!

Also-CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL LADYYY????
Ngl, when I first imagined Idia's parents I imagined them as abusive and neglectful, but they were a shock to meet. In the main story, they are the first parents of a character we get to see. I was incredibly surprised by her voice and personality but after it dawned on me that she was Persephone, I was beyond taken away! I've always disliked the characterization of Hades in the animated Hercules series. It felt like he was just a cartoon satan (Persephone’s exclusion from the cartoon was also disappointing) but to see Disney include her here-even a twisted version- is exciting. I'm glad that they didn't end up being terrible people, if they were then the Idia angst would have flooded us all up.
