i think dinostar is such an interesting ship right now even if i've kind of turned away from it after this season. the problem is that it's complicated, and fandoms historically don't like nuanced situations or takes. i don't think it's fair to say darius is putting brooklynn on a pedestal, since from his perspective, she hasn't done anything wrong, and kenji has been framed as this unfair partner to her. it does feel like his feelings are very immature and more of an infatuation right now ("if he loved you half as much.."/"unless?"), especially when you compare them to kenji's own feelings for brooklynn - his girlfriend who he's loved for 6 years - but that isn't a horrible thing, it's just different. i do completely understand if people dislike the ship right now, and even criticize darius' way of handling the accidental confession, but i just think people have been way too harsh on all three of them without being willing to see that all of their perspectives are different

Hey so I finally finished Part 2 of Dragons Rising, and Kai and Wyldfyre are so special to me.

I swear, if I was in Kai's shoes in ep 13, I would've killed her. He's SO unbelievably patient, and I find it funny how a few episodes later he says that no one has ever called him patient before. Like, you're doing better than I would! Nya DEFINITELY would've strangled Wyldfyre after she nearly got them killed the first time. But just, the fact that he's willing to be so patient with her because he sees a little bit of himself in her, OUGH.

And the turning point in their relationship being him showing her how he coped post Seabound, I'm going crazy and this show is the cause.

Them bonding through arson.

AND in the last episode how Kai seeks VENGEANCE after she gets sucked into one of the mergequakes, which then leads HIM to getting sucked in. How he's the only og ninja to get sucked in because of that. Do you think they were trying to find each other in there? They did come out at nearly the same time, and for Riyu it took a little bit longer. And then how once they're out Wyldfyre just fucking TACKLES him into a hug. :'))) I AM UNWELL OVER THE FIRE LEGO PEOPLE!!!

My favorite father daughter duo is now them. You can pry them from my cold dead hands.

Hey there! Hope you don't mind me pummeling you outta the blue with random Alastor and Niffty hc's!

Contrary to popular belief, Alastor does NOT own Niffty's soul. She's with him because she loves him (platonically) and simply doesn't want to leave his side.

Alastor has never experienced this kind of non-transactional companionship before. Even his other close friendships (Mimzy and even Rosie) were at least SOMEWHAT transactional. He hasn't had someone care for him so unconditionally since his mother.

Niffty is 100% Alastor's favorite person, as well as his surrogate daughter. And while he would never confirm these facts outloud, the amount of special treatment Niffty receives from Alastor is obvious.

For some reason, I have this crystal clear mental image where, if the hotel were ever to perform on stage for the rest of hell, when it's Niffty's turn to perform, Alastor would be like a parent at his kid's school play. Out of his seat, up close to the stage with an old-timey camera snapping a million pictures of Niffty🥰 And God help ANYONE in the audience if they even THINK of booing or heckling her😬

Niffty is the only person who could successfully guilt trip Alastor. On the incredibly rare occasion that he manages to anger or upset her, Niffty's method to get him to apologize and behave is to threaten not to invite him to her next birthday party.

And it WORKS!

EVERY! DAMN! TIME!🤣

Niffty's real name is Hiromi. Alastor is the ONLY one who knows this. Alastor will call her by this name during quiet, delicate moments where one or both of them are feeling vulnerable. For example, after his fight with Adam, when Alastor is in such immense pain he's practically delirious while Niffty does her best to tend to him.

Niffty, shockingly enough, gets along super well with LUCIFER of all people. But that's honestly to be expected. Despite how much he tries to hide it, Luci is very much a gremlin at heart, and like begets like😋 Niffty and Lucifer get along so well in fact that the shoe is suddenly on the other foot and we have a reverse Dad Beat Dad scenario, only this time ALASTOR is the jealous one😂

In the end, though, it's a good thing that Niffty and Lucifer get along so well, considering he's her future step-dad and all😉😊

Love the idea that Alastor doesn't own Niffty's soul, she just attached herself to him and refused to let go. (My headcanon for how they met involves her breaking into his house and stealing his shit, and it took him two weeks before he actually caught her. He's not too mad though, she cleaned up after herself and did his dishes every time she snuck in - which is why it was so hard to catch her. She doesn't leave any evidence!)

Niffty comes on stage and Alastor just:

Okay am I going crazy or was that episode SIGNIFICANTLY better than the past four? Characters had their own motivations and disagreements and we saw a multitude of reactions to Rhaenys's death and it actually got the weight it deserved? We finally got to explore the dynamics on the Black side and that last scene with Rhaenyra and Jace was excellent.

We didn't get to see as much of the Greens, but what we did get to see was great. The eerie vocalizations when Aemond is standing in front of the Iron Throne and the pan back to Helaena asking him if it was worth it? And the scene of Aegon whispering "Mummy" after Alicent had walked away truly broke my heart.

I felt like I was watching the first season of House of the Dragon again where each episode kept me on the edge of my seat enjoying the character interactions and the interplay between the characters. It does beg the question that if the writers are capable of writing a decent episode what in the world occurred with the first four episodes, but I hope this starts a trend for the back half of the season to outshine the lackluster (in my opinion) opening episodes.

it honestly frustrates me when i see people reduce the ericsons cast down to "just some teens in the woods" acting like theyre no different than any other group of lone teenagers from other existing properties and treating them like an overused trope

it is sooo important to acknowledge the "troubled youth" aspect of the whole equation. theyre not just some random teens in the woods clem stumbles across. these kids were abandoned by their families for their various "difficulties" and fucked up by The System before the outbreak even began. and then once zombies started roaming the streets their familes never came back for them and the adults that were in charge of taking care of them just left them there to rot in that old boarding school (except for ms martin who was like their lee 🥺 the only person who ever saw them as the scared traumatized kids they were and died protecting them)

the whole aspect of them already being fucked up by the adults that controlled their lives is like.....kind of important when discussing the whole "delta is stealing kids to force them to fight in a war they have no real part in and want nothing to do with" aspect of the season. and its important when comparing them to clem and her journey of also suffering at the hands of the adults around her forcing her to become self reliant. AND its important when discussing the "just trying to build a safe home (and future) worth fighting for in this world that wants them dead" aspect of the season as well

these kids were forced to come together to survive. and a Lot of them didnt... theyre the only family they have left and you can tell that even when they argue with each other theyre still a close knit group who looks out for each other. theyre a Real family before clem even gets there (and its why what really happened with the twins and brody and marlon hits them all so especially hard)

all of this is what REALLY makes ericsons such a perfect home for clem. its a Real community of her True peers. theyre not Just teens. they mightve had a layer of safety clem never had by at least having walls to keep them safe. and having the benefit of the school being hard to find. its the only reason theyre still alive when clem shows up. but theyre also some of the only people who can Truly understand where clem and aj are coming from. and its why it hurts so much when they vote to kick them out. but its also partially why she merges back into the fold so easily when she returns. plus the fact that shes Really the only one who has any idea what shes doing. shes their rock and she makes them feel safe because underneath it all theyre still just those scared traumatized kids ("EVERYONE is scared, clem..." vi was Definitely including herself in that 'everyone'), and on some level, so is clem

they saved clementines life. and she saved theirs. "the school was supposed to help them with their trauma, now they help each other" its about the LOVE the COMMUNITY the SUPPORT!!!! and thats the shit that makes good zombie media honestly 👌

sex education is a phenomenal show with well-written representation, amazing actors, campy ideas, great character arcs and character growth and i would recommend the show to anyone, but it's just that the show also has the most boring and unlikeable main character of all time and the main plot of a season is usually the weakest plotline
