I’m sorry but I’m never getting over the producers/directors/writers keeping the omegaverse in the pit babe script. LIKE WHAT?! LIVE ACTION ABO?!?! AND FROM THAILAND?!?!?! I need to know how the cast went about studying up on the omegaverse. I JUST NEED TO KNOW. Did they go the classic ao3/Wattpad route, or the less conventional manga/manhwa route? Do they know about mpreg? Heat and rut? Suppression pills? Slick? Was a Venn diagram or mind map used to explain everything in grave detail at the initial reading? Did they take the BuzzFeed quiz? MY QUESTIONS NEED ANSWERS.

I'm watching s1e1 and just got to the part where Louis says he's come to embrace his sexuality, and asks, "but you knew that Daniel, we met at a gay bar." And Daniel brushes it off as just something he did for drugs, so Louis presses, "you've been married?" And Daniel says "twice. But we're not here for me, are we?" So Louis pivots to asking about the best drug he ever had, and they go from there...

I always thought it seemed kind of oddly provocative and forward and even unnecessary for Louis to basically say, "of course I'm out now, but you knew that, since you're gay, right?" Like what is the point of breaking the flow of the story to talk about Daniel here?

Of course it could just be a directorial decision to break up the flashback sequences and remind the audience that this is taking place within the frame of the Dubai interview. But plot wise, I just...

I can't help thinking about Louis continuing, as the interview goes on, to try to open a dialogue with Daniel about his sexuality, his past lovers (specifically Alice, never the second wife), and becoming a vampire. I can't recall Louis ever asking personal questions about Daniel's daughters, and in fact when Louis is talking about Claudia, Daniel is the one who says, "I've got two," without Louis asking.

This could all be writing and directing choices made to underscore that this is a Love Story between Louis and Lestat, but it's also a story about Family, and to my recollection it's almost always Daniel who brings up his daughters, and Louis who brings up Alice and Polynesian Mary's.

So yes it's a wild stretch but... if you're someone who like me has entertained the theory that Louis is doing this interview not just because he regrets how badly it went the first time, not just because Daniel doesn't have much time left for them to wrap it up, not just because Louis wants to warn humanity of the impending Great Conversion, but that he is doing it for Armand...

Well, I'm just saying, the breadcrumbs are there.

i've seen so many people talk about how crazy it is that armand pretended to be muslim but i'm gonna say something even crazier: i don't think he was pretending. armand in the books was religious so them making armand muslim on the show isn't crazy. in fact, i think it quite fascinating. that brings up so many questions: was he religious before he was turned? was it something he found after he was turned? if it was after he was turned, was it because he found comfort in it after being inflicted with vampirism that he is now realizing isn't a gift but a curse? so many more questions come to mind and i am so looking forward to them expanding upon armand's religion.

if i got the chance to interview oliver stark about 911, you bet your ass i wouldn’t waste a single question over something like ‘will tommy be jealous of buck and eddie’s friendship?’ after we have seen multiple times he isn’t, and most recently in the new episode. not to mention we’ve seen even eddie isn’t jealous of buck and tommy’s relationship, and we were shown that yet again in the premiere. there are so many more interesting things you could ask about buck’s actual relationship and that story, or even buck and eddie. but no.

What frustrates me is that it is very clear that people's idea of Louis being more involved in the story is him becoming Lestat's one and only love interest. There is a unwillingness to accept that Louis lives and makes decisions outside of his love for Lestat; its why there's still talk as if Louis went to New Orleans in the season finale just to make up with him. As long as you fail to see him for the whole, complicated character he is, you will never understand his motives and I think that's a shame!

The profound lack of imagination in regards to Louis specifically is one of many manifestations of believing that he is a prize to be won. THAT is what it means when someone says Loustats/Loumands are shipper-brained. The show letting Louis break out of being just a romantic specter, to laying a path for him to find meaning in eternity for himself is a gift! Letting him play an active role in the story and forge interesting relationships with characters he maybe exchanges all of 30 words with across 13 books.

I don't know where all they will take his character and that's part of the fun. But deluding yourself into thinking that every word and action of his that doesn't bring him one step closer to being with Lestat is wasted and worthless is a wildly shallow way to view the character.

I low key want to do a list of all the dm hints in the show. Like no bts stuff, just textual things happened on screen that were constructing a certain narrative. Because, jokes aside, there are some very intentional things there already in season 1 that clued people who knew nothing about the books in, me included. It could be interesting approaching it only looking at what the show is outright telling
