procrastination is starting to have its consequences finally
#on my friends living room floor they love together but one of them has been london for weeks or maybe months#to be with her love. im on a foam mattress from one of their beds next to a glass bottle of water opened by one of them#in a mug given to me by another. the weather felt like my childhood today and it also felt like 2 years ago.#(put space in the heavens Einstein's idea and hes your friend too so nothing to fear) around the table they drank and laughed and i thought#i hope you keep growing so full with the love you receive . i hope your appetite becomes insatiable from how used to it you are#and i know youre all leaving soon but i hope one day you miss this and that youll be happy you miss it#its worth missing i think#i thought he didnt care but he said after exams hes going walk around this area over and over#(this is near where he lived and where we visited almost daily for a year)#(hed come across the bridge on a lake)#we went where she used to live and at the entrance a fox sat calmly. it just yawned and stared.#it felt important somehow. i think maybe their impressions of me will never be close to how i feel inside but i think#i love them enough for that not to matter. i dont think theyll ever know this. i dont think if they did it would change much.#and seeing them smile makes my heart glow anyway. today i tried their malaysian tea the ginger burned my throat#they warmed my heart. hes going to canada soon and hes going to the US soon and shes going everywhere soon ill never understand#how were supposed to live with memories and with seperation and with the past but we do it anyway so i think it doesnt matter much#i wanted to write a poem for the lab rats with the fibre optic wires lit with blue forcing them to turn around and around#something about how im sorry that the two photon arrays burned the inside of your brain. im sorry about the sharp points of multielectrode#arrayes. im sorry about everything we do to you. she asked to see me tomorrow. im trying to have self control but i miss her so awfully#last night my friend talked to me and i updated on everything that happened with love and the lack of it and she just started laughing#and she told me about the same thing from her side. and she told me about how she loved london because she would walk the streets#and she felt like the people were her. and her eyes would go over the people and the bag of bagels and the construction men they probably#have a kid at home maybe shes a daughter. this kid is crying for her mother and the building you just walked past caused#blisters and pain and people died in it and very likely people were born in it. we talked for hours and i felt like#i was holding her hand just like that time she held mine watching a horror film. i love her so much#my friend is a genius and i remember her picking up the charms of my phone and staring at the leaf hanging from them. shes side stepping to#music drinking dangerous cider and cocktails from a movie and chit chatting with billionaires and undergrads#i love her dearly. his head covered in electrodes. she tells me about a syrian guy shes in love with and she says#what you feel and what i feel is like cocaine. ive tried a lot of fucking cocaine.#she says ive reminded her of what living actually feels like and to never put energy into someone who doesnt see me this way.

every time i see someone call tron 'cyberpunk', i lose ten years off my lifespan
#note to self literally never read letterboxd reviews of movies i like i cant do it anymore kdjfgkdssd#say you saw the movie and the plot and visuals went right over your head without saying it#like. in what world is tron dystopic?? cyberpunk in itself is an offshoot of dystopian fiction. tron is not about an imagined future#tron is about an imagined PRESENT. thinking about our PRESENT relationship with technology in relation to the times each film was released#tron is in equal measures hopeful and critical about technology. that is NOT cyberpunk#the only CyberPunk that matters in tron is the Tron2.0 character of the same name#i will admit that tron's plot is cyberpunk derived but its. idk man its not the same thing#thematically its different. visually i think tron shares developmental artists with blade runner where the cyberpunk visual stereotype was#- established#but blade runner is more pure cyberpunk thematically than tron is. does that make any sense#and. and. listen to me. i am number one retrofuture fan. i love syd mead. i love moebius. but listen. just because they worked on tron -#- does NOT mean tron is thematically OR visually retrofuturistic either!! the visuals match the time it was made!! thats not retrofuturism!#thats normal scifi based on the every day!!!#tron is a sandbox and at the end of the day anyone can do whatever they want its all just for fun#at the same time. the entire story of tron is being severely misrepresented when labelled as cyberpunk. and it makes me sad#these are very shallow thoughts i just miss literary thematic analysis sometimes. my film studies classes cannot come soon enough#rex speaks

what i need is a link to admin at the mercury and admin at the wnba. set me up a special account so i can see all the old videos from the old website. and get me a computer with all 19000+ minutes of dt games and a strong video editor. really i'd like all the old footage too.
#it's devastating bc i'm trying to find the full presser from the 2007 finals when dt says is a smack in the face not the same as a punch#but also what i want to do is clip every single dt assist and almost assist into what has to be like a 5 hour video#and then of course all the baskets#but i did the math and if you're watching film for 8 hours a day it would take like 161 days to watch all her wnba games#like i said yesterday i was watching a handful of games and her passes ..really we don't talk about the act of passing the ball enough#i would like to watch other old games too like the comets 97-2000#now my hope is that it doesn't happen this year but when it does happen [and i have a list]#mat should pay her like 1.5 million/year to consult for the org . which might mean doing nothing but show up at occasional games#and i know she doesn't want to coach or gm but i think she would be so good at roster creation recruitment and draft day decisions#like i said i have a list but i'm not going to put it out until it needs to be put out#i want to watch every game that cheryl miller coached#but that you can't watch candace parker's rookie season#or anything from LJ#or any comets games#or postseason prior to 2015#it's so disrespectful to not have them available#you could sell box sets of seasons by team and charge like 20 bucks per each and i'd eat them up#or full seasons of games#it is so concerning from the archival side that so much footage only lives publicly on these old youtube accounts from 12 15 17 years ago#and the best we can do is hope nothing gets deleted

anyway, i love that film so much and it has such a special spot in my heart bcoz we used to watch it every sleepover and just like ??? act it out hahaha (*ﾉωﾉ) i often credit grease as the first piece of art that really got me into that good girl x bad boy dynamic ehehehe <3

i think all humans are capable of creating and do create even when they don’t realize they are, in various frequencies, forms, and across different mediums or aspects of life, but i truly believe there are some people who were made to create first and foremost and everything else comes second. i don’t know what the percentage is and i don’t know how many were taught to put it on the back burner because “that’s not how life or society works”, but it’s always sad to see the general public, especially those in charge, unwilling to give support to their creatives and help them flourish. it’d be a boon for everyone in the end, we all partake in art to be entertained or soothed or healed :(
#throughout my school years art was always seen as a childish subject and was never part of education#when it was it was treated as wasted time unless you were hoping to become an architect#and even then it was never as important as those who went for the humanities or STEM#ever since i started interacting with creators who are in it professionally i realized that we've all had the same experience#no matter what part of the world we grew up in#and if you want to find a way to eat as a creator you need to hustle 24/7 and make others support your work or you're homeless#no support from the governments no real way to even attempt to make it unless you're fortunate enough to afford the necessities#while you're hoping luck will be on your side and others who may be struggling themselves manage to support your work#i often feel selfish for having these thoughts and i know i'm not alone in this#there's no creator who doesn't have their own self doubt in the back of their mind constantly reminding them#if they'd chosen a more convenient profession this wouldn't be a problem#thus you and your art in itself are what's wrong here#if everyone who created had followed that voice we'd have no books or films or songs or plays or video games or or or or#much love to all of you

The coming out video was a gem I’m actually sad it’s off of there hopefully he archived it.
Maybe this is his way to get off social media I wouldn’t blame him if he’s leaving social media after all of this. I’m just sad he’s deleted some nice videos even from his instagram :(((
it was 😔😔 i was proud of him for that video and i hope he isn’t feeling shame now. people keep talking about his sexuality, and jewish heritage & faith, in a bad light so i wouldn’t be surprised if he feels like he lost some agency in himself because people say shit online and everyone else takes it as gospel.

I didn’t know that they were making a movie/doc on Latasha Harlins…… unfortunately, they have a light bright playing her.
#she was darkskinned… fucking hell#this is so disrespectful#apparently the filmakers are black too#rambling#it’s bad enough that we can’t trust whites and nbs to properly cast us appropriately but we also have to constantly deal with black#filmakers doing the same shit#even her hair is… it’s not#it’s just colorism/featurism/texturism smashing all together into an ugly pile of bullshit#I hope the film is canceled because my god#do they cast light skins in these sorts of roles because they don’t think that the audience will feel sympathetic enough if it were a#black person of darker complexion… I believe so!#this is so gross#the director is a course a light skinned#casting a light skinned girl to play this little girl is… it takes so much away from her story and what happened to her#especially considering that colorism usually impacts the way black people navigate through life as they encounter non black people#and with how much more surveillance and scrutiny that dark skinned black people are usually put under vs light skinned individuals#a lot of them being mixed and even white passing#the family should sue 🗿#no wait… apparently her family approved of this film being made :(……. man…

#wonderful news the mkv with the merged subtitles WORKS on the dvd player#i tested it out by putting it on me flashdrive and plugging that into the dvd player#and it worked once i hit the subtitle button on the remote! yay!!!#so theoretically. if i put this mkv on a dvd-r it should work the same. right#hoping the dvd doesnt compress the shit out of the quality of the mkv bc it looked good on the dvd player#so good news is that now i know which method of video/subtitles merging works#and now all i have to do is#get me some dvd-rs. good quality ones#print out the cover i made up and bam we're in business. hooRAY i love stealing#if all goes well i plan to do this with other warner archive movies#and then move on to foreign film that dont have dvd releases with english subtitles#heehee and hoohoo.......
