Sorry to talk about that but I was told yesterday that I couldnât call out a woman well known in Lyon who drugged me and raped me, because sheâs trans and she could be isolated as a result ? I did several suicide attempts because of her but I have to keep quiet ? Horrible, I was in tears when I got home.
How can I just pretend it didnât happen and just keep quiet when I know Iâm not the only one it happened to⌠Itâs my worst trauma and I canât even bring myself to talk about it to my therapist, but anyway I guess Iâll just keep quiet.

MEXICO CITY (AP) â A Mexican woman who killed a man defending herself when he attacked and raped her in 2021 was sentenced to more than six years in prison, a decision her legal defense called âdiscriminatoryâ and vowed to appeal Tuesday.
The ruling against Roxana Ruiz spurred anger from experts and feminist groups who said it speaks to the depth of gender-based violence and Mexicoâs poor record of bringing perpetrators of sexual violence to justice.
âIt would be a bad precedent if this sentence were to hold. Itâs sending the message to women that, you know what, the law says you can defend yourself, but only to a point,â said Ăngel Carrera, her defense lawyer. âHe raped you, but you donât have the right to do anything.â
The Associated Press does not normally identify sexual assault victims, but Ruiz has given her permission to be identified and participates in public demonstrations led by activists who support her.
While the Mexico State court found Monday that Ruiz had been raped, it said the 23-year-old was guilty of homicide with âexcessive use of legitimate defense,â adding that hitting the man in the head would have been enough to defend herself. Ruiz was also ordered to pay more than $16,000 in reparations to the family of the man who raped her.
In May 2021, Ruiz was working selling french fries in Nezahualcoyotl, one of the 11 municipalities in the Mexico State with an ongoing gender alert for femicides and another one for forced disappearances of women.
While having a beer with a friend, Ruiz, a Indigenous Mixteca woman and a single mother from the state of Oaxaca, met a man she had seen around the neighborhood. After hanging out, he offered to walk her home and later asked to stay the night because it was late and he was far from home.
Ruiz agreed to let him sleep on a mattress on the floor. But while she slept he climbed onto her bed, hit her, tore off her clothes and raped her, according to Carrera, Ruizâs legal defense. Ruiz fought back and hitting him in the nose, and he threatened to kill her. In the struggle to free herself she killed him in self defense, Carrera said.
In a panic, Ruiz put the manâs body in a bag and dragged it out to the street where passing police arrested her.
Despite telling police she had been raped, Carrera said a forensic exam was never taken, a crucial step in prosecuting sexual violence cases. Instead, an officer responded that she probably wanted to have sex with the man at first and then changed her mind, he said.
âI regret what I did, but if I hadnât done it I would be dead today,â Ruiz told the AP in an interview last year, adding, âItâs evident that the state wants to shut us up, wants us to be submissive, wants us closed up inside, wants us dead.â
Womenâs rights groups have repeatedly accused Mexican authorities of revictimizing survivors and failing to judge cases with a gender perspective.
Ruiz spent nine months in jail on charges of homicide with excess of legitimate self-defense, and was finally released to await trial.
The court responded to public outcry of the sentencing Wednesday, saying the judge did examine the case with a gender perspective. It also noted that a blow to the head during the struggle left the man unconscious at one point, saying the court found that was âenough to contain the physical aggression.â
The womanâs lawyer said the courtâs defense âis totally false.â Carrera said that while there was some evidence the attacker received a blow to the head, it was never proven the man lost consciousness. He said the defense hopes to challenge the courtâs statement in its appeal.
Despite the sentencing, Ruiz still remains free pending further judicial steps.
Nearly half of Mexican women have experienced sexual violence in their lifetime, government data shows.
In 2022, the Mexican government registered a total of 3,754 women â an average of 10 a day â who were intentionally killed, a significant jump from the year before. Only a third were investigated as femicides.
That number is likely just a fraction of the real number due to rising disappearances and lack of reporting of violence in the country.
Angelica Ospina, gender fellow for International Crisis Group in Mexico, said she worries that the sentencing may empower victimizers while discouraging women from reporting gender-based violence or defend themselves.
The case points to just how ânormalizedâ gender-based violence is in Mexico and other parts of Latin America, Ospina said.
âWhen a woman defends herself, the system is particularly efficient in processing and sentencing her without taking into consideration the conditions in which she killed the man,â Ospina said.
Meanwhile, outside the courtroom, women carried signs and chanted âjustice!â A tearful Ruiz stood before the crowd, thanking feminist groups and the women who had supported her through the years-long judicial process.
Speaking to the crowd, she thought of her 4-year-old son.
âMy son, I hope to see him again. I hope to stay with him, to be the one who watches him grow up,â Ruiz said.

Another TIM in jail for sexual offenses
By Genevieve Gluck February 13, 2024
A convicted rapist who identifies as a âwomanâ is back behind bars after breaching the conditions imposed on him to protect the public. Freddie Millar, 31, who also uses the name Xenia Jade-Millar and Xenia Woodward, was sentenced to 16 months in prison for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and notification requirements.
Millar, of Northampton, was first convicted of rape in 2017 and served three years in prison for the crime. In 2020, he was again detained for misconduct, and incarcerated until September 2023. The conditions of his most recent release, as per the SHPO, legally required Millar, a registered sex offender, to disclose any new relationships, devices, and social media accounts to authorities.
However, during an unannounced check-up conducted by authorities in December of 2023, officers discovered an undisclosed laptop at his residence. Additionally, Millar had become involved in a relationship with a woman without alerting law enforcement.
A follow-up visit in January revealed that Millar had been operating multiple social media accounts under his various aliases â thus violating three stipulations specified in the SHPO.

On February 5, 2024, Millar appeared before Northampton Crown Court, where he was sentenced to one year and four months in prison.
Lead Investigator Detective Constable Will Corlett said in a press release: âRegistered sex offenders are very closely managed by our team and I want to be clear that any breaches are dealt with robustly. We do not give second chances or âthe benefit of the doubtâ â anyone who breaches their order is charged and brought before the courts with a view to sending them to prison.â
âIâm pleased to see Millar jailed as it means the streets of Northampton are that little bit safer,â Constable Corlett added. âI hope this case reassures the public with regards to how seriously we take offences such as this and shows the relentless determination of Northamptonshire Police to put as many people like Millar behind bars.â
Several comments appear to have been deleted from a post made on the Northamptonshire Police Facebook page announcing Millarâs sentencing.
On one Facebook account belonging to Millar, he confirms he identifies as transgender in a post dated December 28, 2023.
âToo [sic] everyone in the world listen to me right now, anyone who has a judge [sic] against me being a transgender come say it to my face,â Millar wrote. âThis is just me being nice you donât want to see me when I lose my sh*t cause trust me Iâm dangerous when Iâm angry.â
Millarâs sister commented on his post, suggesting that his threatening remarks were ânot very lady-like.â
âI have known Freddie all my life and I struggle to believe this is reality, something Freddie struggles with,â she replied. Speaking directly to the 20 year-old woman Millar had become involved with, she added, âI wish you all the best, just be careful.â
The two women then exchanged in a brief back-and-forth, with Millarâs current girlfriend stating that âshe is no longer a he and she is no longer Freddie⌠She is Xenia and why are you saying be careful? However, likewise I wish you all the best.â
During the course of their conversation, it was revealed that Millar had not undergone any surgical interventions. Millarâs sister asserted that she had âan opinion which Iâm entitled to,â and insinuated that his history of sexual abuse had made her suspicious of her brother.
âYes, youâve done your time, but the nature of what you did, in my humble opinion, is unforgivable. If you are truly transgender, good luck to you⌠My one and only issue is what youâve done. Maybe if I didnât have a daughter I might think differently,â she stated.
Millarâs Facebook profile also suggests he has an estranged son whom he was trying to reestablish contact with.
While it is unclear which prison Millar will be sent to in order to serve the 16-month sentence, an unofficial national sex offender database established to inform the public has recorded his sex as male, and lists his offenses under the name Freddie Millar rather than Xenia.
#UK#Xenia Jade-Millar or Xenia Woodward is Freddie Millar#Male violence#Trans identified male sex offender

April 13 (UPI) -- The U.S. State Department on Thursday expressed its disappointment in China's decision to uphold a death sentence for Mark Swidan, an American first jailed in 2012.
"Today the People's Republic of China's Jiangmen Intermediate Court denied wrongfully detained U.S. national Mark Swidan's appeal, and upheld his death penalty with a two-year suspended death sentence," State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said in a news release.
"We are disappointed by this decision and will continue to press for his immediate release and return to the United States. U.S. officials have repeatedly expressed their concerns to senior PRC officials about Mr. Swidan's treatment, medical care, and his inability to send or receive mail in a timely manner."
Patel added that President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken both "continue to remain personally focused on the release of Mark Swidan and other U.S. nationals wrongfully detained or held hostage across the world."
RELATEDU.S. lists human rights abuses around the world in new report
Swidan was arrested while speaking with his family from a hotel room in the city of Dongguan in November 2012, according to a 2020 report from the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights.
He was 37 at the time and in China on a business trip looking for flooring, fixtures and furniture for his business and his home in Texas, and he also was seeking to purchase helium for another company in Texas on commission.
Authorities who arrested Swidan seized his photography equipment, wallet, tablet, passport and identity card and accused him of being part of a criminal group manufacturing and trafficking drugs.
RELATEDChina condemned over use of spies to monitor Uyghurs for Ramadan fasting
No drugs were found on Swidan or in his hotel room at the time of his arrest and prosecutors did not discover emails or phone calls implicating him in the alleged drug ring. Swidan pleaded not guilty to his charges.
During his detention, Swidan was "badly mistreated" and exposed to "poor sanitary conditions" and "denied medical treatment," according to the U.N. report.
Swidan was ultimately sentenced to death in 2018, but appealed the decision. His sentence was upheld Thursday.
RELATEDU.S. declares Evan Gershkovich was 'wrongly detained' by Russia
The U.N. has determined that Swiden was arbitrarily detained and urged China to release him "immediately."
U.S. officials that have pushed for Swidan's release include Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican, who said earlier this year that his fellow Texan was sentenced to death "on false charges."
"This is how Third World despots act," Cruz said. "They must release Mark."
Katherine Swidan, his mother, long feared for her son's safety and treatment in China.
"My son will die, slowly giving up hope. I question myself tonight. Am I strong enough to hear Mark is dead, or should I go before him and wait for him with the angels?" she posted in November.
"My country does nothing but be polite, afraid to demand, all while Chinese guards laugh -- watching Mark suffer in pain," she said.

I tugged my sleeves down for the umpteenth time this morning, hoping that they would stay in their current position, but I knew they wouldnât. I shouldâve just worn a hoodie, but alas, all of mine were dirty, and since I didnât feel like doing laundry last night, I was stuck with this long sleeved shirt whose sleeves never stayed all the way down my arms, and always found a way to ride up.
âYou okay over there?â Jay questioned from where he was seated at his desk across the room.
âIâm fine,â I reply. âItâs just that these stupid sleeves wonât stay down.â
âJust role them up,â Jay proposed. âItâs warm in here.â
âItâs cool,â I insist. âIâll just deal with it.â Jay hesitated, as if he wanted to say something, but ended up not talking and went back to doing his paperwork. Thatâs when Kevin and Adam entered the bullpen side by side, both with a cup of coffee in their hands. âHey, guys. Either of you know when Voightâs gonna be in?â
âUh, no,â Adam responded. âWhy?â
âI need to run a quick errand. Cover for me?â I ask Jay.
Jay nodded. âSure. Where are you going?â
âIâve got to run an errand for my dad. Iâll be back soon,â I say quickly and stuff my phone into my pocket before heading for the stairs.Â
My dad and I have never really been close. I was always closer to my mom, but when I was 16, she passed away from heart failure, leaving my dad to raise me all by himself. Thatâs when the problems began. My dad started drinking more often, coming home drunk after work. During these times, he would become somewhat aggressive. It was just little things though, like grabbing my arm a bit too rough. I waved it off at first because he was grieving over the love of his life, and I was sure heâd get over it in a few months. Except it never stopped. The drinking continued, not just after work at bars, but at the house too. And the violence didnât stop either. In fact, it just got worse. Grabbing turned into smacking, and then punching. I thought that when I moved out, things would be different. I wanted to stop going by his house to say hello, but he was the only close family I had left, so I continued stopping by and running errands for him. The abuse didnât happen as often as before, but when it did, I had to figure out how to hide the bruises, hence me wearing long sleeves and a lot of makeup. It was hard keeping this from the rest of the unit, especially Jay, who was my best friend, but I didnât want them to think differently of me when they heard about my family life.
The reason for my errand was that my dad wanted a few things from the grocery store, and since he was apparently busy, he asked if I could pick those things up. I didnât want to because I had work, but because Voight wasnât in yet, I figured Iâd just do it now to stop my dad from bothering me for the rest of the day. So, I left the district and drove to the grocery store, hoping that I could get this done as quick as possible. It didnât take me long to grab everything my dad needed, including beer. I couldâve just not bought it, but that would make him angry, and I didnât want to face that at the moment. After loading everything into my car, I made the short drive to my dadâs house.
âDad! Iâm here!â I call out into the house as I stepped inside. To the right was the living room, and behind that was the kitchen. My dad was sitting in the living room on his recliner with the TV on, not doing a single thing, which made me mad because I left work for him, but I pushed those thoughts aside and made my way into the kitchen to set the groceries down.
âWhat kind of beer did you get?â my dad asked as I headed back into the living room.
âUh, Budweiser,â I answer.
âI asked for Corona,â my dad spoke.
âYeah, I know, but I had to be quick cause I have to get back to work, so I just grabbed the first thing I saw,â I explain and fish my keys out of my pocket.
My dad growled and stood up. âSo your work is more important than your own father?â
âAt the moment, yeah,â I reply. Right after I said that, I immediately regretted it. I could see my fatherâs face change, and before I could even move, my dad stepped forward and punched me in the face, catching me square in the eye. I cried out in pain and fell to the floor, clutching the side of my face, which was now throbbing. âDad, please stop,â I beg. But he didnât stop there and took another step towards me, this time sending a kick straight to my ribs. Pain exploded in my side where the tip of his boot had come in contact with me, but I couldnât do anything about it. Just before my dad could kick me again, the door to the house was kicked open, and seconds later, Jay and Hailey appeared.
âHey! Step away from her,â Jay ordered with his gun raised. My father glanced between me and the cops, and decided it was better not to go against their orders, so he took a step back. Hailey didnât waste any time and handcuffed my fatherâs hands behind his back, telling him his rights as she led him out to the car.
âJ-Jay? What are you doing here?â I croak out and sit up, which sent more pain throughout my body.
âHailey and I came down to see what was taking you so long, and to tell you that weâve got no new cases, so Voight gave us the day off. I uh, I saw everything through the window,â Jay mumbled and gestured towards the big glass pane in the wall behind us. âIâm gonna take you to the hospital, okay?â
I shook my head. âN-no. I just want to go home.â
âWell, thatâs not going to happen. Iâll bring you back to my place, and then Iâll call Will over to check you over,â Jay said and held out a hand to help me up. I took his hand, allowing him to pull me up, but pain racked my body. âAll right. Lets go.â While Hailey used Jayâs truck to get my father back to the district, Jay drove my car back to his apartment. A few minutes after we got there, Will arrived to see if any of my injuries were severe enough to where I would need professional care.
âYour orbital bone isnât broken, just bruised,â Will informed me as he examined my eye. âJay also said something about your side.â I nodded and lifted up my shirt so that Will could get a look at my side. A reddish purple bruise had already began to form, and based on itâs size and deep color, I knew it would be there for awhile. Will pressed on the bruise, and I winced in pain, immediately tensing away from his hand. âSorry. Uh, your ribs donât look broken either. But you should be careful the next few days so you donât hurt yourself any more. You should also ice your side and your eye. Thatâll help the swelling go down.â
âThanks, Will,â Jay told his brother, who left seconds later, leaving Jay and I alone in the apartment. I took a seat on the couch, my back resting against the arm rest, and Jay sat down on the opposite side, moving his body so it mirrored mine. For a few moments, we sat in silence, but finally, Jay spoke up. âWhy didnât you tell me?â
I sighed. âWhat was I going to say, Jay? Oh, hey, just to let you know, Iâve got an abusive father who beats me over the stupidest things?ââ
âYou couldâve at least talked to Hailey,â Jay put in.
âI know,â I state. âBut what kind of friend would I be if I made her relive her own terrible memories?â Again, we were silent for a few seconds, and again, Jay broke that silence.
âHow long has this been going on?â Jay questioned.
âSince I was 16,â I reply softly, tears beginning to gather in my eyes. âHe wasnât always like this, but after my mom died, he changed. The beatings, they didnât start until I was in college, but I think that made them worse.â I took a deep breath and wiped at my eyes, cleaning the tears off of my face. âI-I shouldâve said something, shouldâve done something. I mean, Iâm a cop. I shouldâve been able to defend myself, but I just let the beatings happen. I let him hit me.â
âHey,â Jay murmured and got up from his seat. From there he moved to the seat next to me and placed a comforting hand on my knee. âDonât blame what he did on you. This isnât your fault. It was never your fault.â
I sniffled and wiped more tears from my face. âI know, but itâs hard not to think that it is. If anything, I shouldâve gone to the unit, or at least talked to you.â
âYouâre talking to me now, and thatâs all that matters,â Jay confessed and gave me a small smile.
âSo, whatâs gonna happen to my dad?â I ask.
âHeâs uh, heâs going to get jail time. He got charged with assault down at the 21st. It looks like itâll only be a year or two for him in prison, but I am going to make sure heâs never able to hurt you again. Thatâs a promise I intend on keeping,â Jay admitted. I smiled and sat up, pushing my legs to the side so that I could lean forward and hug Jay. He squeezed me back tightly, and being in the arms of my best friend gave me the comfort I really needed right now.
âThank you,â I whisper into his chest. âFor everything.â
âYouâre my best friend, Y/N. Iâd do anything for you. Now, I say we order some takeout and have a movie night. What do you think?â Jay quizzed.
âI think that sounds like a great idea. Lets do it,â I say.

Hi Iâm one of the anons whoâs obsessing over the P.A series!!!!! For some reason my brain has been full w diff things that could happen IDKKK! Hope u donât mind if I dump a few....
TW: this is ďżźA bunch of rambling and some grammar errors LMAO sorry
Idk y I c y/n having a stalkerđ this prob sounds rlly weird but hear me out. (To add drama, also I Lowkey wanna c Mina,Sero and kiri get mad idk y-)
Since we all know y/n is the baddest most sophisticated b*tch (sorry idk if Iâm allowed to cuss or not LMAO) her Ex lover is still obsessed w her and thinks that they are soulmate even tho they obv arenât. I feel like y/n knows he stalks her but she ignores it until it gets worst. Like he found out where she lives. (He finds out where she lives while sheâs sick which is now loll)
Anyways I feel like Mina would be over at y/ns place and since sheâs getting better they are In her living room talking abt who knows what and y/n gets a knock on her door she goes to open it and admittedly closes it looking shocked. Mina being a pro hero is ďżź supposed to be able to read body language. Mina ask her if everything is Alr and y/n OFC (stupid a**) says yes. Mina didnât want to keep pressing the issue so she dropped it until it became a reoccurring thing with y/n and itâs not just her that noticed. She (y/n) is extremelyďżź hesitant to open the door and when she does she opens it a little bit. (And then idk her EX does crazy like breaks into her apt and scares the sh** outa y/n) THIS IS WHERE MY BIG IDEA STOPS đđđđđđ that was a lotta rambling my apologies
Have a great day dollie!
oh no! please donât feel bad, itâs always fun for me seeing what you dolls would want to happen next
although i donât plan on bringing any psycho exes into âthe p.aâ series, as a writer and an avid daydreamer, i canât help but play around with this ideaÂ
warning: there are brief mentions of violence ; this is not a part of âthe p.aâ series but is just a little thought that i just couldnât help but try my own hand at also ; i didnât edit this either đ so kindly forgive any grammatical/spelling mistakesÂ
continuing on from your idea...
â¤mina, having the sneaking suspicion that something bad might happen to you that night, notifies the rest of the group later on that day
â¤usually, bakugou was in charge of you during the night and always sat in a chair beside your bed on high alert, ready to serve your every need...
â¤BUT!
â¤now that mina told them about your suspicious behaviour, all of them were put on high alert.Â
â¤they all agreed to keep you unaware of their intentions by having bakugou take care of you like usual but they made sure that when on the night patrol, they were close by with their radios on and constantly being hyper aware of the shortest route to your residence from wherever they were situated - just in case of an emergencyÂ
â¤naturally, they trusted bakugou with keeping you safe but that didnât mean that they had no worries for you at allÂ
â¤seeing as you usually feel asleep before bakugou switched with the sero, who took care of you in the late evening, you were under the impression that you were alone at homeÂ
â¤your current condition disallowed you from comfortably staying awake so you were constantly tossing and turning in bed, brows furrowed and sweating more than usual
â¤âwhat is she dreaming about?â bakugou utters in frustration as he continues to wipe away the vastly accumulating sweat rom your wrinkled brows
â¤he wasnât frustrated at you no no, he was annoyed at the fact that he couldnât make you comfortable no matter how many wet towels he uses to cook your forehead or wipe your sweat clean off your skinÂ
â¤as the night progresses, you eventually fall into a dreamless sleep, far too exhausted to continue stressing over your ex with the added burden of your fever on your body
â¤nevertheless, bakugou continues being on high alert at all times except for when he momentarily leaves to room so as to go to the toiletÂ
â¤this was the perfect opportunity for your crazy ex to sneak into your room via the window bakugou left ajar so as to help cool you down betterÂ
â¤your ex was a creepy and disgusting man - someone that you had grown to dislike the more you got to know him and naturally left as quickly as you were able toÂ
â¤what followed was harassment to the highest degree, thankfully you were able to protect yourself due to your self defence training and quirk, however, it didnât take away the shuddering feeling of being watched constantly
â¤you grew paranoid and extremely fidgety over time and eventually filled for a restraining order. unfortunately, that didnât work and left you to deal with the situation yourself
â¤you were naive enough to think that you had shaken him after a particularly horrible beating he took from you in self defence. he had come at you with a knife but you were able to disarm him and send him limping home with a dislocated arm, a black eye and a bruised ribcageÂ
â¤over time, you got busy with work and slowly forgot about him, it wasnât until today that you were reminded of his crazy obsession with you and were thrown into a panicÂ
â¤believing that you were alone at night and in your most vulnerable state, you didnât feel safe and sought to deal with the situation however you could, even in your dreams
â¤all attempts were in vain, however
â¤bakugou, returning from his momentary break to the toilet came back just in time to see your creepy ex hovering over your sleeping figure. as if you sensed the unpleasant existence stalking you, your body stiffened under the blankets and you began to breathe uncomfortably, beginning to sweat bucket-fulls once more
â¤not wanting to disturb your sleep as rest was the top priority for you, bakugou crept up from behind the unknown figure and instantly went for his neck, choking him into silence as he dragged his thrashing figure outside, far away from you all the while sending a emergency signal to the rest of the squadÂ
â¤in no time at all, the rest of the squad arrived and had your crazy ex cornered. at this time he had already been tied up by bakugou and was ready for a quick chatÂ
â¤âwhat the hell were you doing with our yn?â kirishima began, sharp teeth grinding together as he clenched his jawÂ
â¤silenceÂ
â¤âspeak up, we canât fucking hear you,â bakugou spat as the others glared on from beside him, their eyes piercing through the moonlight and darkness of the nightÂ
â¤ây-yn isnât yours - thatâs the first thing,â your ex finally cracked, giggling creepily in betweenÂ
â¤âyouâre right,â sero began, âyn doesnât belong to anyone so why were did you break into her house,â it took everything in sero not to lash out but they needed answers
â¤âwrong again!â your ex sang, âshe doesnât belong to you, she belongs to me! iâm her boyfriend!â
â¤âyn doesnât have a boyfriend,â kaminari spoke up
â¤âthatâs right! and if she did, we would have known,â mina agreed
â¤âthatâs because she doesnât know it yet, we broke up but weâll get back together again soonâ the tied up man giggled to himself, âitâs only a matter of time before she realises her mistake and she comes back to me,âÂ
â¤the team of heroes didnât know what to say, they were so shocked and appalled at what they were seeing and hearing that they couldnât bring themselves to utter a single word of response, they only listened further
â¤âi hoped sheâd come back soon, anyway...but i was getting impatient so i had to try and convince her a little more. sheâs been ignoring my love for her all this time, she canât continue rejecting me for long...â he laughs, âi bet she misses itâ
â¤âmiss what...?â bakugou didnât want to know but it had to be said
â¤âi bet she misses being with me. sheâs so beautiful and so soft to the touch, she always smells good too and she has such a lovely voice - i want her all to myself, she doesnât deserve to be anybody elseâsâ
â¤it was then that the team of heroes just about lost their minds. the creep before them didnât say anything explicit but the madness in his eyes and the harrowing smile he was displaying was off putting. they dread to imagine what a lowlife nasty sob like him put you through but they saw flashes of unforgivable scenes that sent all of them into insanityÂ
â¤someone so precious to them didnât deserve any such treatment. you may not have disclosed anything to them strict on being professional but if this man was willing to break into your house...they were fearful to think about what else he was capable of
â¤he deserved a beating from that act alone, actually, and a beating he got
â¤they couldâve killed the guy - they were more than tempted to and it would have been so easy...but he deserved to suffer in jail for his crimes against you so they held back no matter how painful that was for themÂ
â¤the very next day, under their authority and recommendation, the man was locked up for as many years as they could tally up and seeing as they were heroes, they were able to look into his past documentations and found you had filed a restraining order for him under harassment, assault and a number of other things they grew all the more furious at the more the read
â¤they would prefer it if you didnât realise what they did that night but the media couldnât let the story of 5 high class pro heroes sending a singular, beaten man to jail for life
â¤your creepy exâs battered photos were all over the news and you were so incredibly grateful Â

Of Cakes and Late Celebrations
Authorâs Notes: This was supposed to be posted on Mother's day. But just like this fic, I got derailed and ended up being late. (picture taken from the internet)
It was Mother's day.
Or to be precise it will be Mother's day in 15 hours 25 minutes. It shouldn't be a problem for Alcina, she usually just buys something from the Duke to give to Mother Miranda.
Unfortunately, such a thing is not possible right now. The Duke was delayed with his routine arrival at the castle opening, something about a spooked horse and lycans trying to get a nibble.
Honestly she lost interest after the word delayed was spoken through the phone. How is she going to remedy this. The gift itself was one of the finest silk she was able to obtain, she was sure Mother would appreciate a new ritual robe.
This is bad. To show up without a gift on this special day. She was sure she would be made a mockery during the gathering. Whats worst was that fool Heisenberg would be the first to lead with his pathetic insults.
Just the thought made Alcina's blood boil.
âI should send Bela to switch that man's shampoo with dog shampoo. Although the man still smells like wet dog. No. I'll think of something more devious.â
But back to the matter at hand. It's almost Mother's day and she doesnât have a gift. Taking a deep drag off her cigarette, she considers her dwindling options.
At western part of the village
Donna is also facing a similar problems.
"What do you mean you're not coming?! Where am I supposed to find a present at this hour?!" Angie's raspy voice filtered through the phone "do you know how hard it is to find a 1st edition book on occult and rituals."
"Apologies Miss Angie, but the horse spooked and the carriage suffered a broken wheel. Even if the servants manage to haul themselves your house to the Duke's location and back it would still be too late." The main servant said trying to sound as apologetic as he can come across.
"This would not do" Donna said finally in her normal voice.
Somewhere inside the Stronghold.
Karl Heisenberg was having a meltdown.
"YOU STUPID LYCANS! I GAVE YOU ONE JOB AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN DO IT RIGHT!!" Heisenberg paces around the small assembly hall. Ten Lycans looked very apologetic, although it was very hard to tell from their looks. One even lets out a soft whimper.
âI told you to stall The Duke for a while. I didnât said to derail him completely. The man has a package for me, now how am I supposed to get it!?â Heisenberg seethes.
His plan was a simply one really. Stall The Duke so that he would arrive at Castle Dimitrescu late, that way Alcina would not get her package and present it to Mother Miranda. That would show her, a little payback for calling him a child.
What he didnât count on was the utter incapability of the Lycans to follow simple directions. Now even he doesnât have a gift. Oh Mirandaâs gonna blow a gasket.
âAugh... I hate the consequences of my actionsâ He lamented
 At Moreauâs Reservoir
âNOOOOOOO!! Thatâs not fair, thatâs not fair!!!â Moreau starts throwing his stuff on the floor. He had finally saved up his money to buy Mother Miranda that nice jewelry that would go perfectly with her black wings.
âSomeoneâs gonna payâ He vows to take revenge on the Lycans responsible for his problem.
After all his pet fish has been hungry for some Lycan meat.
Castle Dimitrescu (13 hours until Motherâs day)
âI have gathered you here today for a very important meetingâ Alcina starts looking at the sad (Donna) and tearful (Moreau) faces of her so called âsiblingsâ. Heisenberg is surprisingly calm which puts Alcina on high alert, but lets it slide in favour of the more pressing matter
âWe have a big problem. The Duke will not arrive on time for Motherâs Day. That means all the presents we bought for Mother will not arriveâ
âWe need a solution, any ideas?â Â
âWe kill the Lycans responsible and feed them to my fishâ
âYes Moreau, but thatâs after we solve this problemâ Donna said and tries to placate a Moreau by patting him at the back.
âWhoa, thatâs a bit dark but I like it. And Moreau is right, weâre gonna make fish food out of those Lycansâ âBetter off those basdards, after all I donât want to implicate myselfâ Heisenberg thinks
âPeople, youâre missing the point hereâ Alcina says pinching her nose to ward off an incoming headache. âListen, we donât have time. You know Mother Miranda, Sheâll say she wasnât really expecting something and then low-key punishes us for missing the day. We donât want a repeat of the 1967 incident do we?â
Moreau whimpers from the trauma.
Donna goes into a slight trance and starts to shake.
âAlright, alright, thatâs enoughâ Heisenberg stands. âWhy donât we just bake something and say itâs from all of usâ
 *beat*
âDo you know how to bake?â
âI work at the Factory, I make steel molds for a living how hard could it be?â
âThat doesnât answer my question Heisenbergâ
âWe could make a small dollâ Donna pipes up
âSorry Donna that would still take time. And I donât think we have the right materials on such short notice.â Alcina says
âFor someone whoâs looking for a solution you sure are shooting down all of themâ
âBecause itâs not feasible Heisenberg.â Alcina huffs âCan you gather all the materials in less than 10 hours? No? Of course notâ
âAnd I keep telling you just BAKE A CAKE!â
âI donât know how to bake, child! Iâm a BLOODY COUNTESS not hired helpâ Alcina bellows at Heisenberg
âI know how to bakeâ
Everyone turns to Donna.
âReally?â
âOf course, I used to watch my Mother bake cakes before the accident. I just need help decorating. I never got a hang of that partâ Donna beams with pride as she explains the basics of baking
âAnd we can gather the ingredients no problem. You have a pantry here somewhere right Alcina?â Moreau asked
âOf course. We always have a full pantry for the servants.â At that Heisenberg looks at Alcina with a hint of disbelief
âWhat? We need them healthy to serve us. Iâm not a complete monster.â Alcina defends
âIn any case we should start early. It takes time to cool and decorating is hardâ
Castle Kitchen (12 hours 30 minutes before Motherâs Day)
It was truly a sight to see. In a way it was enough for the Castleâs servants to wet themselves in fear when they saw the 4 Lords gathered at the kitchen in various forms of concentration. Needless to say, everyone was warned to steer clear of the kitchen for now.
Moreau was together with Donna supporting her with mixing the wet ingredients. Meanwhile, at the other side of the cooking station Alcina and Heisenberg are charge of measuring out the dry ingredients.
âYou need to be precise, donât put too much. Remember what Donna said and look at the damn recipeâ
âI know what Iâm doing you damn woman. Iâm all about precision. Why donât you move away and get that mixing bowl at the top shelf.â Heisenberg grouched
âIâm not your servant. And I certainly will not start fetching stuff for youâ Alcina shot back
âAlcina, we need to work together. We donât have time and youâre the tallest of us all. Please cooperate with Karl just this once. Please?â Donna implored
âOnce. Iâm helping him for this one time only. When I get my hands on the Lycan responsible for this problem, Iâm gutting him and throwing him at Moreauâs reservoir.â At Donnaâs admonishment of Alcina, Heisenberg gives a shit eating grin, showing some rather very pointy canines.
âAnd Heisenberg, stop provoking Alcina.â Donna adds
âFine, youâre no fun Donnaâ
Suffice to say, the baking went well. Who knew that the 4 Lords working together would be a great success? If only Mother Miranda saw her children working together peacefully she might have had a heart attack and thought that she suffered one as well.
Or she might have been dreaming.
Castle Kitchen (6 hours before Motherâs Day)
âAlright, the cake has cooled down completely, So what color will be the icing?â Donna asked
âYellowâ âCreamâ âLight Blueâ the other three said simultaneously.
 *beat*
âLight blue? Really? Not everything needs to be manly Heisenbergâ
âAnd not everything needs to be boring like your color, Alcinaâ
âIt should be yellow, like Motherâs sunny smileâ Moreau explains
âAnd in which ever universe has Mother ever smiled like the sun?â Heisenberg counters Moreau
âHey now. No need for that tone!â
âTsk, sorry Moreauâ Heisenberg apologizes to a quiet Moreau
âFine, letâs do pastel yellow itâs easier for the eyes anywayâ Donna supplies, getting ready to start coating the cake with the yellow cream
 Inside the Sanctuary
âHappy Motherâs dayâ
âWe hope you like the cake Motherâ
âYes, we poured out our love in baking it. I hope you appreciate itâ Heisenberg said
âWhy thank you loves. This is a wonderful surprise. And Moreau said that you all worked together in baking it. How wonderful!â Mother Miranda said grateful for once that her children worked together without collateral damage (that she knew of).
âAlthough Heisenberg, I heard something interesting from Uriasâ Mother Miranda looks pointedly at Heisenberg, who for some reason starts to sweat and turn pale.
âoh shitâ âReally Mother? Good news I hopeâ Heisenberg tries to bluff his way out.
âWhy it was quite peculiar really. He said that you got 10 of his Lycans for a special project. I wasnât aware that you have some side projectsâ
The 3 Lords turn to Heisenberg
âWait what?â
âI KNEW IT!!â Alcina unsheathes her claws
âYouâre responsible for this mess in the first place!!â
âReally guy relax, if anything I just proved that we need more than one traveling merchant in the village for a successful and on time deliveryâ Heisenberg starts to carefully ease his way to the nearest exit.
 âGET HIMâ
In the end, Alcina was more than ready to feed Heisenberg to Moreauâs pet fish. Only Donna stopped her, citing Moreau would probably be inconsolable if his pet got indigestion from all the metal.
And that is how Heisenberg saw himself in doggy jail for a week along with his Lycan cohorts. Mother Miranda did get her Motherâs day gifts from her children although a bit later than expected.
 And the cake?
 The cake was surprisingly delicious.

Thick, cushioned, cream colored walls. You supposed this was an upgrade from your last room, with its harsh and reflective steel. Every time you made an appearance here, it seemed there was a new, yet futile, attempt to keep you contained.
As you studied the pillowy surface, you drummed your fingers on the wooden table that your hands were currently strapped down to, and secretly hoped for your captor to rear his head, even if he was peeking through the double-sided mirror to your left.
Your mind proved itself to be a powerful thing, as the door ahead of you opened, and none other than Captain America stepped in, looking valiant and proud as ever.
âGood afternoon, Captain,â you greeted.
âFlux,â he said in a matter of faculty tone, nodding his head at you before pulling the chair in front of you aside and sitting down.
âTo what do I owe this pleasure?â you asked, as if you hadnât been tussling with him in the streets less than an hour ago.
âYâknow, just our biweekly catch up,â he shrugged, playing along.
âCan I suggest coffee for our next meeting?â
Steve scoffed, but you almost swore that if you squinted, you could see him blush. âEnough of that,â Â he mumbled before opening a yellow folder and turning it to face you. âYou ready to tell me about him?â Steve asked, pointing to a printed photo of Brock Rumlow.
âIâm not sure what youâre talking about, Captain,â you responded, looking up and batting your lashes at the man. This routine was like clockwork for you two. Fight a little, get yourself caught after a moment of weakness, and end up in an interrogation room.
âDonât play dumb with me Flux,â he warned in a snarl, wrapping his fingers against your wrist and making you yelp. That was definitely going to leave a mark.
âOuch, Captain. Youâre being rough today, even for you.â
âIâm always rough with you,â he insisted, raising a brow as he loosened his hold on you.
âYouâre being rougher than usual, thatâs what I just said,â you furrowed your own brows at him. âSomething on your mind?
âYouâre stalling,â Steve stated while squinting at you.
âI would never do something like that, Cap,â you closed your eyes and visualized the outside of the building. âDoes it have anything to do with those accords?â
You opened an eye quick enough to catch a glimpse of his jaw ticking, âI didnât mean to strike a chord. Oh my gosh, âa chordâ, accord. I really didnât even mean to do that.â
You opened your other eye to get a clear view of him glaring at you. âOkay, sorry, Iâll be out of your hair in a moment,â you gave Steve a sly wink.
He stood up from the chair in a dramatic fashion, leaning down to get right in your face. âNo. You wonât. Tell me everything you know about Rumlow.â
âCap,â you pouted mockingly. âYouâre not very good at this. Really makes a gal wonder why they keep sending you in to interrogate me, when you donât seem to get much out of me.â
He grit his teeth while looking down at you, your eye contact both intense and passionate.
âIf it makes you feel any better,â you began, looking away at a plain wall in an attempt to focus a bit more on leaving, âI genuinely know nothing about him.â
Steve gave you a humorless look, and your eyes naturally flitted back to him, âreally,â he said drily.
âReally,â you confirmed. âWe donât really work in that whole chemical warfare field. Especially with a guy like Rumlow? Heâs bad news. Did you really think that all âvillainsâ,â you made air quotations on the table. âKnow the intimate details of each otherâs lives and plans?â
âHmm,â Steve hummed aloud as he moved back, seemingly convinced.
âI was serious when I said that Iâm leaving, though. You and I both have better things to do. But please tell Wanda that she did a good job for me, okay? I mean, civilian deaths are never pretty, but I genuinely would miss having you around.â
âI hate how you talk so much, but literally say nothing,â he huffed.
âIâm not gonna take that personal, âcause I know you donât really mean that,â you sighed softly and looked away to visualize the outside of the building. âHopefully the next time I see you wonât be UN sanctioned. Farewell, Captain.â
With those words, you were gone.
ââ
For the next few days of your life, you hadnât stopped receiving an earful at the Brooklyn base. Mainly from your teammates, who seemed to never let things go, and were the nastiest gossips youâd ever met. Currently, rumor had it that Cecelia, your boss, was preparing to have a strong word with you.
You cracked your knuckles anxiously as you followed a teammate, Amelia, down into the sparring facility, as an attempt to calm your mind before whatever bad news was broken to you.
You passively listened to the TV in the corner of the room while wrapping your knuckles in preparation of getting your ass beat, and listened to the rapid fire reports from hours earlier in the day, but mainly tuned into the fight between the Avengers at the Leipzig airport.
âHave you heard?â Amelia questioned, tying up her lengthy hair as she sauntered onto the mat.
âNo, tell me more,â you followed suit on the mat, rising onto the ball of your foot to the heel of your foot in an alternating rhythmic bounce.
âI guess some of it is that UN thing, but itâs probably because of the Winter Soldier,â Amelia bounced similarly to you before charging forward and throwing a left hook at you.
âNo way! I thought that guy just disappeared after that S.H.I.E.L.D shit,â you dodged the swing, and went to knee her. âI swear, I asked Steve about it once.â
Amelia rolled her eyes at you, and caught your knee, pushing you down to the ground in the process. âYouâre obsessed with him.â
âI think itâs mutual. And you said youâd go easy on me,â you whined, grabbing her extended hand and pulling yourself back up.
âYouâre delusional, and thatâs why Cec is pissed with you. In fact, Cecelia was so mad, that she couldnât even form the words to tell you. At least, thatâs what she told Naomi.â
âWhy, though? Itâs not like I havenât been caught by him a million times already.â
âThatâs the problem, though. What happens when they decide to send someone else in to talk to you? And they start waterboarding you, or some shit? All the sudden the Avengers know everything about us?â
âWell that wouldnât happen, because I would leave,â you shrugged after blocking a few punches.
âI hope youâre getting all your aloof-ness out now, because Cecelia is not gonna put up with this attitude.â
You huffed, and marched over to get a sip of water, dramatically squirting it in your mouth before heading back to the sparring mat.
âJust let me enjoy this while I can, okay? I know how to protect myself,â you swung your fist in an uppercut, and Amelia maneuvered herself out of the way.
âWell, I was just reading something before this. Apparently your boy is a fugitive of the law now. It almost looks like your time is already up,â Amelia commented, delivering a stiff jab to you at the same time that you crouched.
Hearing this news, you froze up, and the punch landed right on your nose, an unsatisfying crack reverberating in your ears.
âY/N, you alright?â She asked, approaching you as you reached a hand up assess the damage, and pulled away an extremely bloody hand.
âYeah, Iâm fine,â you mumbled letting her lead you off of the mats and to the connected bathroom, so you could get a better look at yourself.
You were dizzy with pain, and you pressed your hand to your nose, willing it to heal. Though not your most frequently used ability, it certainly assisted some of the pain. You squeezed your face in a cringe as your bone rearranged itself.
âIs he in jail?â you asked, watching her face screw up in the mirror.
âYouâre not really- you are a lost cause,â Amelia scoffed.
âYou could be a little nicer to the person whose nose you just broke.â
âYouâre fixing your own nose! Youâre fine, okay?â she exasperatedly brought her palm up to her forehead. âIâm gonna go take a shower. Be ready to talk to Cecelia as soon as you leave this room. A word of advice? Donât mention your work husband unless she mentions it first, okay?â
Amelia set a hand on your back and pat it, âgood luck with her. If you need a sofa to crash on after this, my place is always free.â
You shook your head at yourself as she left, your own personal healing already fixing most of the damage. As you hopped into your own shower stall, you couldnât help but question just how bad this confrontation was truly going to be.
ââ
You walked into Ceceliaâs office after receiving a text message from her assistant, inviting you to meet with her.
You were handed a disposable cup filled with piping hot coffee as you entered, and Cecelia beckoned you to sit down in front of her. You obliged, nervously rubbing your hands on your pants as you sat.
âY/N,â she began in a sigh, âwhat has gotten into you lately?â
âNothing, just-â the older woman put an open hand out, prompting you to stop.
âNo, Y/N. Youâve let Rogers become your biggest blind spot. You let him catch you off guard and capture you nearly every single time you go out on the field! Iâm starting to think that you want him to catch you.â
âWhat if I do?â you shrugged, feigning indifference.
âItâs not a âwhat ifâ anymore, dear,â Cecelia took a deep breath. âEspecially after what happened in San Francisco.â
âI- Cec, you told me that you wouldnât bring up California anymore!â you huffed and shook your head. âItâs not even like itâs a problem. They havenât once received intel from me,â you added.
âSomething tells me that you wonât be having the same interrogator for a while at least. We were gonna take you out of the field before this whole Avengers fiasco, but I think itâs time for you to just take a break as a whole.â
âSo youâre firing me?â you huffed, âgreat.â
âNo, you are taking a break. We can get you set up in the Prague safe house, and everything.â
You weakly threw up your hands and looked away from Cecelia, not even being able to bear looking at her for the moment. What a great day you were having.
ââ
You sulked the whole way up to your apartment, and reached in your jacketâs pocket with sluggish speed. It was as if you couldnât catch a break today, which was all you seemed to be able to think about while grabbing your key.
You looked up at the door, and noticed something slightly off. The door was just the slightest bit ajar, as if it was deliberately cracked for you to see. Someone was inside. Waiting for you. You held in your groan as you came to this conclusion.
You really couldnât catch a break.
Despite your better judgement, you devised a quick plan in your mind. You could probably protect yourself, right? You closed your eyes in a blink, and imagined your kitchen. The plasticky tiles on the floor, the dent in your countertop from dropping a mug, the wooden cupboards that youâd quickly fallen in love with. The next moment, you were standing in your kitchen, right next to your silverware.
As quiet as you could possibly manage to be, you slipped your sharpest and largest knife from its home in a wooden block, and defensively in front of you. Creeping out of the kitchen and into your hallway, you examined area by area for any sign of intrusion, pointing your knife with every turn.
After finding nothing and no one, at the end of the hallway you turned, walking back down and stopping in front of your living room after noticing a few dark stains on your carpet.
You took a deep breath before walking into the open space, the pit in your stomach growing at the thought of what it was that you were about to find.
With a few timid steps, you found a shirtless Steve Rogers, sat on your couch, head lolled back, eyes squeezed shut in pain as he released shallow breaths and attempted to apply pressure to a wound. With one look at him, you yelped and involuntarily found yourself back in the hallway outside of the room, your fear strong enough to force you into teleportation.
âFunny seeing you here,â Steve began, and you stalked back into the room, your steps slightly less fearful as you stepped over his discarded tactical gear.
âSteve?â You whispered, setting the knife on a random bookshelf before kneeling down on the floor next to him. You had a plethora of questions, but you couldnât decide what was the most important. âI- Are⌠What happened?â
He shrugged weakly.
âOkay, well how badly are you hurt?â You questioned apprehensively.
âPretty badly,â he responded.
You nodded slowly while you attempted to process the entire situation. You couldnât tell if this was a scene from your wettest dream, or worst nightmare. âIâll be right back,â you muttered, leaving the room to grab some water to help you speed up your healing process.
As you reentered your living room, you set down the bowl of water and squatted down next to Steve once again. Dipping your hands in the liquid, and placing them on an open head wound, you found it appropriate to question him.
âSteve,â you began, watching the forehead laceration quickly shrink into a small scar. âWhy are you here?â
âI had nowhere else to go,â he put plainly.
âA hospital, maybe?â you added, pushing away the hand that was currently holding down a rather bloody wound on his upper arm, and exchanging it for your own.
âSomething tells me that a hospital isnât the best place for a guy of my legal status to be at right now,â he countered while you halted your attempt to reduce the size of the wound, cracking your stiff knuckles in preparation for the final push of closing the abrasion. âBesides, this isnât the first time weâve done something like this before. You remember S-â
âSan Francisco. Right,â you cut Steve off, and brushed off the previous comment. âThis is gonna hurt a little,â you warned. before setting your fingers down, and putting an obscene amount of pressure on the bicep wound.
Steve grit his teeth so hard that you swore you could hear it. His muscles clenched as you resumed your attempt to soothe the sore.
âHey, look at me,â you used your free hand, and gently pushed his cheek so that he was looking at you. âIf I distract you, itâll hurt a lot less. Trust me.â
He seemed to agree with you, and took in a deep breath while the corner of his eye twitched.
âHow did you even find my apartment?â you asked, using your pinky to tilt his chin up, and force his view away from the cut.
âIt wasnât that hard, I mean, weâve been tracking you and that âfinancial firmâ you work in for years,â he spoke through clenched teeth.
âYou sure itâs not because you like to keep a personal tab on me?â
âNo! Why would IâŚ?â
âBecause if all the Avengers knew where me and my teammates reside, weâd all be locked up already.â
âFine, maybe I pulled a few strings. Itâs just because I think youâre the biggest threat to the general public.â
âReally? The woman with the least destructive powers of all of us, not the one with super strength? Or the one who could manipulate elements? Or even, I donât know, the person leading us?â you chuckled a bit at the poor excuse.
Steve rolled his eyes fondly, but you could clearly see the soft flush on his face.
âItâs okay, Steve. We all have our favorite coworkers.â
âWe arenât coworkers, though.â
âIt seems like youâre gonna need all the allies that you can come across. Donât get picky with me now,â you tutted, finalizing your work on his peck, and leaving behind a small, pink scar.
You let out a breath of exhaustion as you pulled your hand away, and pointlessly shook out your wrists.
âYou alright?â Steve questioned, adjusting himself a bit on the sofa and grunting at the rather simple task.
âFine. What else needs attention?â
He gestured to the light bruising on his ribs that only seemed to be getting darker by the moment.
âWe should take a break first, though. You seem tired.â
âI told you that Iâm perfectly fine,â you countered, setting one hand on your chest, and pointing a lazy finger at Steve, âyouâre the one that needs a break.â
Steve grabbed your finger and gently pushed it down, âI donât really, but maybe we should take a break.â He gave you a kind smile, and your heart fluttered. Even bartered and bloody, Steve managed to make you feel like a schoolgirl with a crush.
âWell, any great Captain America plans to get yourself out of this mess?â you leaned against the sofa, and twisted your torso slightly so that you could get a good look at your visitor.
âNope, not yet,â Steve pursed his lips slightly. âAny input from the lady who seems to get out of every rock and hard place she finds herself in?â
You snickered, and shook your head at this, ânot at the moment. But you have me on speed dial, right? I can get back to you when I think of something,â you joked with a wink.
âI would laugh, but Iâm honestly a little nervous that my lung might pop if I do.â
âOh fuck, Steve,â you scooted away from him so you could be closer to the bowl of water once again. âWhy did we take a break? You need urgent medical attention.â
âYou needed a moment.â
You shook your head and frowned, catching the inside of your bottom lip between your teeth, âdonât do that again.â
You dunked both of your hands in the water, then turned back around and set your damp hands on the bruising on Steveâs ribs, closing your eyes in concentration as you addressed the damage.
Steve howled out in pain, making you flinch as a result. With the hand doing less work, you blindly pat around in a search for something to shove into his mouth and dampen the noises he was currently making. Eventually settling on a blanket, you shoved the fabric deep into his mouth.
âSorry,â you uttered while the muted noise of his pain rang through your ears, âneighbors.â
The task wasnât the easiest for you either, healing what seemed like such a large break or fracture following several other injuries was depleting your energy quickly. Your arms and hands trembled as you began to watch the splotchy yellow mark begin to blend into the rest of Steveâs skin, and you were becoming more and more light headed by the second.
Feeling somewhat satisfied with your work, you pulled your shaky hands away, and leaned away from Steveâs body before losing your balance, and falling back onto your plush floor.
Steve yanked the blanket from his mouth, sticking out his tongue for a second as he attempted to pull a spare string from his mouth. He sat up rapidly, and looked down at you with raised brows, and big, frightened eyes.
âY/N?â he asked breathily, still exhausted from his own exertion, âyou still with me?â
Your chest rose and fell slowly, and you were silent for a moment before responding, âI just need a minute.â
Steve relaxed back into the sofa with the knowledge that you were at least still conscious, and waited a few beats before he spoke again, âthanks,â was all that he managed to utter.
The two of you sat there in an extremely loud silence, the only other noise being your nearly synchronized panting.
âIâm gonna go shower,â you announced after what felt like hours on your floor. You slowly rose, and dragged yourself to the bathroom in your bedroom. Hitting the shower valve, then sitting atop your countertop you let the suite fill with steam, reflecting on your bizarre day, but most of all, your interaction with Steve.
You let yourself dwell on this while you stood in the shower, forehead pressed against the warm tile as you considered the implications of every word shared between the two of you, and how youâd let this tiny crush get so far ahead of you. Maybe it really was a good idea to take some time away from New York. You were so deep in your own thoughts that you failed to catch onto the sound of the floorboard that loudly creaked in your living room, or the soft click of your front door opening and closing.
Changing into some more comfortable clothing, you exited the bathroom, and ultimately your own room ready to offer up your shower to Steve, and possibly even talk about your feelings in a serious manner with him. Yet, by the time you arrived at the couch that had held him just a half hour ago, it was vacant. In fact, your whole apartment was vacant. Youâd checked three whole times.
Ending your fruitless search on your balcony, you settled down into the single plastic beach chair that you kept outdoors, and draped the blanket from your sofa that had previously been in Steveâs mouth around your shoulders. The chill of the night air contributed to the sting of your eyes when they welled up, and you told yourself that it was silly to ever think that this, you and him, could ever happen in the first place.
Gazing up at the stars, you cursed yourself for being so naive. For letting yourself fall so fast, and so hard for someone you knew so out of reach. The stars seemed to mock you, in all of their billions of years of knowledge.
Yet, part of you was comforted by the knowledge that Steve could be viewing the same constellations as you.

re: your last answered ask about El facing jailtime, how she was being questioned and the way she was answering made me so scared for her. it's clear from the outset she doesn't belong there but knowing El and how she shuts down in these types of confrontations was just so foreboding!! she was going to be so miserable and so in danger there that it sends chills down my spine.
also don't even get me started on the insinuation that the reason the cops showed up the next day was because angela pressed charges.
Ugh, that scene gives me so much anxiety and makes me so mad. They should NOT have been interviewing her like that without a parent or guardian present. And then Elâs answers, because I mean sheâs all freaked out and confused, and it was just a nightmare! She was in such deep shit and there was no one to pull her out of it. I was so genuinely scared for her. She already grew up in a prison; the thought of her being locked up again in a real prison environment made me shudder. Poor El.
Iâm not glad that she had to spend time with Brenner and be manipulated by him again, but boy was I glad she was saved from jail. I hope Owens wipes her record so that doesnât follow her the rest of her life - sheâs suffered enough. Also, how do we get Vecna introduced to Angela? I think we would have collectively volunteered her as tributeâŚ
#shoutout to the actress who played her so well because I viscerally loathed her#she was THE WORST#and her goonies who had their mouths open ALL THE TIME#talk about mouthbreathers#thanks for this!#I love chatting about s4 and st in general#asks#st4 spoilers

hello!! sorry iâve been posting so much, iâm just really excited to get to the bulk of the story. like i said before, if you have any suggestions, please donât hesitate to reach out!!Â
pt 1
pt 3
pt 5
(Y/N) looked from her new friends to the Fire Nation soldiers that surrounded them. A little voice in the back of her head said she could reveal herself now. She could pretend like she had been tricking the Avatar and his friends and get them captured. But if she did that, the world might lose its last hope of beating the Fire Nation. If she fought alongside the Avatar, she condemned herself to being labelled as a traitor.Â
(Y/N) had been in a city of the Earth Kingdom for two years and she was sick of it. Not of the city itself, or of its people, but of living in a city occupied by the Fire Nation. She watched from the balconies as their soldiers mistreated the people whose families had lived there for centuries. They beat the men and starved the women and children. It was sickening to watch and when she brought it up to her family, she received drastically different replies. Her mother insisted that she simply stay inside all day so she wouldnât have to hear the injustice that was happening in the city below them. Her father threatened to write to the Fire Lord that she was questioning his orders. She wondered if her father had always been an evil man, or if it was a new occurrence.Â
Witnessing what the Fire Nation was doing to innocent people did not sit right with (Y/N). Sometimes she dressed in Earth Kingdom clothes that she had purchased in the market and asked people about their experiences with the Fire Nation. This war had raged on for 100 years, so everyone she had spoken to had a story to share. The Fire Nation had torn apart families, destroyed homes and crops, and imprisoned innocent children for simply being earthbenders. It made (Y/N) sick to her stomach.Â
So she decided to get back at the Fire Nation. It started small, like stealing food from the kitchens to distribute amongst the poor, but she eventually went as far as sneaking into the jails at night to free innocent earthbenders. It was hard, maintaining appearances as a child of a Fire Nation general while also freeing the innocent people her fatherâs forces had captured. She feared every night when she crawled into her bed that one day she would wake up to soldiers standing above her. But she could not stop herself from helping people who needed her.Â
(Y/N) was in the town square, playing with a few of the Earth Kingdom children, when she noticed a small group lurking in the shadows. They were dressed unlike anyone she had ever seen, so she knew she had to follow them. It was two boys and a girl walking together and peering around each corner to make sure that no Fire Nation soldiers lurked on the streets. While their backs were turned, (Y/N) made her presence known by clearing her throat. The trio jumped and turned around, and she was face to face with a boy in a yellow tunic and pants with blue arrow tattoos, and another boy and a girl from the Water Tribe.Â
âYou guys arenât from here, are you?â (Y/N) asked. The girl smiled.Â
âNo, weâre not. Iâm Katara and this is my brother Sokka. Weâre traveling with Aang.â The youngest boy raised his hand to smile and wave. âHeâs the Avatar.âÂ
(Y/N) felt her mouth practically drop to the floor. The Avatar was standing right in front of her! The Fire Nationâs greatest threat was a boy who was barely older than ten. âThis place is crawling with Fire Nation soldiers. Follow me.â She led them through alleyways and secret passages until the were at the door of the basement of her house. It was once home to the best earthbender in the city, but her father had done quick work with kicking him out and sending him to prison along with the other earthbenders. The basement remained untouched by her family and its servants. (Y/N) was pretty sure those who lived upstairs didnât even know that it existed.Â
She shut and locked the door behind them. âThis is the safest place in the city.âÂ
Sokka looked at her incredulously. âAre you serious? This is the Fire Nation generalâs house! Did you see all those guys out front?âÂ
âI can promise that Iâve been hiding out down here for a long time. I donât even think they know it exists.â She sat on the floor and patted the dusty earth beside her. Aang sat down, then Katara, then finally Sokka, after a bunch of suspicious glances at (Y/N).Â
âYou havenât told us your name,â Aang noted, but he didnât seem accusatory. She felt sweat begin to accumulate on her palms. Should she tell them her real name? Would they know that she was the daughter of the Fire Nation general? She looked at their kind expressions (except Sokkaâs, he still looked very wary of her) and decided to take a risk.Â
âMy nameâs (Y/N).â
âHow long have the Fire Nation been here?â Katara asked.Â
âAbout two years, I think,â (Y/N) responded.Â
âHave you been here the whole time?â She nodded.Â
âThe soldiers...theyâre awful. Iâve seen what they do to the people here. They tear families apart, they starve the citizens, they lock all the benders in prisons. It breaks my heart.âÂ
âWeâll try to help, in any way we can.â Aang said. (Y/N) shook her head.Â
âThereâs no way you can do that. The Fire Nation literally wants you dead!âÂ
âTrust me, we know,â Sokka grumbled.Â
âWe have a bit of experience breaking benders out of prison,â Katara said with a smile. âMaybe you could help us do that! Are you a bender?â Warily, (Y/N) nodded.Â
âIâve been bending since I was a kid but Iâm scared to use it around here. I hope you all understand.â Aang and Katara nodded.Â
âItâs settled then. Tonight, weâll break all of the benders out of the prison and help them take their city back.â The trio put their heads together as they started to formulate a plan.Â
âHey, (Y/N),â Sokka said. âAre you just gonna sit there or are you gonna give us some intel on where the earthbenders are being kept?âÂ
(Y/N) felt herself smile. She scooted closer to the three kids to begin discussing their plan. For the first time in a long time, she felt less alone.Â
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, so their plan didnât go quite as expected.Â
Their night began as easily as it could. They covered themselves in cloaks (Y/N) had found in the basement and traveled back alleyways to reach the prison where the earthbenders were kept. She tried her best to remember the layout of the prison on her fatherâs desk that she had seen for a moment, but she ended up leading them to many close encounters with Fire Nation soldiers.Â
âIâm sorry!â She whispered once more as Sokka had to quickly knock out one of the guards. âI told you guys, Iâd only barely seen the map! I donât know why you put me in charge!âÂ
âI guess we just thought that the Earth Kingdom girl might know a little bit about the Earth Kingdom prison!â Sokka whispered back, causing (Y/N) to deepen her frown.Â
âGuys, itâs okay,â Aang said, putting himself in between the two teenagers. âWhere thereâs guards, thereâs prisoners. I heard some more voices down to the left. Follow me.âÂ
Quickly and quietly they followed Aang through the twists and turns of the prison. While Sokka held his boomerang and Katara had water at her hip, (Y/N) felt utterly useless. There was no way she could use their bending to help them. If she did, she would be outed as Fire Nation immediately, and they would lose all trust for her.Â
They finally found the cells where the prisoners were kept. The benders looked at them suspiciously, but (Y/N) pulled back her cloak to reveal her Earth Kingdom clothes. âDonât worry,â she said as she worked at one of the locks on the cell door. âWeâre here to help.âÂ
She and the others made quick work of the locks, freeing each and every one of the benders that had been arrested. Although the people were weak, they assured the group that they would be ready to fight if necessary. Successfully, they led the prisoners out of the prison. That is where their real trouble began.Â
Somehow, an alarm had been sounded that alerted the guards of the escaped prisoners. Fire Nation soldiers began flooding out of the prison at rapid pace. The group of four stopped in their tracks and Aang turned back to the rest of the prisoners. âGo!â He shouted. âGet back to your families! Weâll hold them off!âÂ
The prisoners turned and ran back toward the city. The guards there had no doubt noticed all of the commotion, but by the time they thought about stopping it, it was too late. The prisoners, although weakened, were fighting to take back their city.Â
(Y/N) felt a pit of fear in her stomach. She felt like she could do nothing as Aang, Katara, and Sokka fought off the Fire Nation soldiers. Soon, their backs were pressed against each other as the soldiers had them surrounded.Â
âYou said youâve been bending since you were a kid,â Sokka said to her through gritted teeth. âWe could really use some of that right now!âÂ
(Y/N) took a deep breath and felt the fire roar through her body. It was a powerful feeling. Her father had once said that fire ran through the bodies of the people of the Fire Nation, and that was one thing he said that she actually believed. She began shooting fire blasts at the soldiers. While they had been trained by the military, she had been trained by some of the best firebenders in the entire Fire Nation. She danced around the people she had grown up beside, knocking them unconscious with her techniques. With the help of the others, they swiftly conquered the soldiers.Â
Aang landed on the ground and pointed his staff at her. âYou lied to us.âÂ
She felt ashamed of herself. âI know. Iâm sorry.âÂ
âSorry?â Katara demanded. âYouâre the enemy!âÂ
âI know,â (Y/N) exclaimed. âBut Iâm not! I promise, Iâm not. Iâve seen the bad things the Fire Nation has done to this city. And I tried to help where I could. I would sneak the citizens food, or I--I would break them out of the smaller jails. I knew I couldnât break everyone out of the prison by myself, so when you offered to help, I knew I had to take it.âÂ
âHow do we know youâre not trying to double-cross us right now?â Sokka questioned.
âIâm the daughter of the Fire Nation general who conquered this city! I couldâve turned you in when you first got here, but I didnât. By helping you guys, Iâve betrayed the entire Fire Nation.â She turned to Aang. âPlease, let me escape with you. I promise, weâre not all that bad.âÂ
Aang stared at her for a moment, eyeing her up and down. (Y/N) weighed her options as she watched him ponder. If they didnât accept her, she would have to run away regardless. She wasnât sure if she could survive on her own, but she knew she would receive a punishment far worse than death if she remained here.Â
âI believe her.â She let out a sigh of relief.Â
âAre you kidding me?â Sokka shouted. âSheâs Fire Nation! Sheâs the enemy!âÂ
âThe Monks taught me that we canât define one person based on the actions of the group. (Y/N) proved that sheâs on our side by helping us today. Sheâs right, she couldâve turned us in so many times, but she didnât.â He turned to her. âYou can come with us. You know how the Fire Nation thinks.âÂ
Katara and Sokka grumbled unhappily, but she couldnât contain her smile. She hugged Aang tightly as tears formed in her eyes. âThank you, thank you! I promise, I wonât be anything but helpful to you all I want nothing more than the reign of the Fire Nation to end.âÂ

Fine Line: The Divorce Series - Part three.
Here is the last part of fine line - the divorce series. You can read part one here and part two here
I would LOVE to write some one shots based on Harry and Eliza. Feel free to send in requests!!Â
That night after he left Elizaâs  Harry went home and sits in his shower for 45 minutes, he thought about going to the pub and then he thought about going to the liquor store to get a bottle of bourbon to drink it in its entirety all in an attempt to try and forget about the fact that he had just kissed Eliza. Harry decides against it, he calls his sponsor instead, his sponsor came to lend an ear and help him get through the night, without liquor. He and his sponsor had become close, he could trust his sponsor to be there for him without feeling the need to worry about his personal struggles with alcohol being leaked to the press.
Two weeks later he found himself at a social gathering at his sponsors house, a family garden party of sorts, alcohol free of course, and thatâs where he first met  Olivia Dane. He and Olivia seemed to have an instant connection, no awkward spots in their conversations, no awkward silences where he felt the need to fill time with rambling. Conversation flowed freely. He left that night not having a single drop of alcohol, and with her number in his phone. One week later they were out to dinner ams six weeks after that had her on his arm down the red carpet.Â
Eliza and Harry never discussed the kiss. For him it was something he was able to freely move passed, for her it was so much more. The kiss lingered on her mind for weeks and weeks she had so many unanswered questions, questions she knew she might never have answers to. The two had reverted back to old ways, going through third parties to organise Harry spending time with Koa and Lennon. Eliza didnât love the idea of not having any contact with Harry, especially because they had just started going to therapy and she was really hoping that this would be the turning point in their co-parenting attempt. She was happy that their children had their father back though, every child deserves happy and healthy parents was her fundamental belief. Thatâs truly all she has ever wanted for Harry, for him to be happy and healthy. With Harry out of the picture for her, she spent more time getting closer to her now partner Andrew. She never spoke a word of the kiss.Â
harrystyles . MINE . LIked by jefezoff, oliviadane and 12,573,399 others. The post took Eliza by surprise. She saw it on a Sunday morning as she was lazing in bed. She wanted to be happy for him, she wanted him to love and to be loved, but she still wanted him to love her. It was selfish of her, and she was aware of this. Selfish because she has and still was seeing someone else, so why shouldnât he be able to do the same. But that kiss still lingered in the back of her mind.
She would come to find out some hours later that at some point during the day Harry had unfollowed her on all social media platforms. This hurt her more than it should have, Andrew copping the brunt of her anger, leading them to a huge argument where he had accused her of still being in love with Harry. I canât be in this relationship with you Eliza, this isnât healthy. You still love him and thatâs okay, but letâs be honest here you canât love him and still have me. He was right. They ended things that night. Harry was thinking about introducing Olivia to his kids. It had been on his mind for a while, probably from the second week he had known her. Him co-parenting with Eliza made it harder for him to see Olivia on weekends. He had just gotten into such a good schedule with having the kids again he didnât want to cancel visits, but he also didnât want to lay in bed alone at night when they were asleep. Olivia didnât fancy children very much, her opinion of children didnât change just because they were linked to the man she was sleeping with. Harry waited three months before he organised a brunch date where she would meet the children.Â
Anne had gone to Elizas to pick up the children just as she had been all this time. Koa had fallen ill and Eliza had almost canceled their visit but she had caught wind that the kids would be meeting Olivia and decided against canceling, but packing everything from his prescription medication to his favourite lovey just to be safe, writing out a note giving perfectly clear descriptions about the contents of the bag and their uses. Olivia rolled her eyes and complained about said bag and note she seems so dramatic over a damn cold were her exact words. Harry didnât say anything in return letting her comment slide. It was moments like this that he would come to later regret, letting things slide was in his opinion the way people got into bad behaviours, but he loved her and didnât want to royally fuck this day up over a comment before it had even really started. He seemed to think that the brunch went well, Olivia on the other hand was less than enthused. Koa had spilt his yoghurt, Lennon her orange juice, children were crying and there was snot everywhere. Despite her distaste for the children of the man she loved, she smiled through it. But really all she could think about was ways to get Harry to herself next weekend, child (and snot) free. She somehow managed it and the following weekend, an hour before Harry was scheduled to have the kids, he canceled. Something about a surprise weekend in Paris that had been sprung on him at the last minute was the reasoning Eliza had gotten off of Anne.Â
oliviadane you had me at bonjour â¤ď¸ Liked by harrystyles, jefezoff and 5,452 others.
Harryâs visits with the children had become few and far between by late September. Fallonâs anniversary was fast approaching and Eliza was not coping. Anne, who had stayed in contact with her and loved her like a second daughter picked up on it. Eliza was out of sorts, and rightfully so. She had a lot on her plate between the twins and mentally trying to process the upcoming date. Harry on the other hand was off in a different country every week. Brushing off the responsibilities of parenthood had yet again come so easy to him, Eliza wasnât surprised at this point. Old habits die hard. Anne had let her concerns about Eliza known to Gemma who went to visit to see for herself. Eliza was a mess, Anne had not been lying. Gemma gave Harry and absolute ear bashing on the phone, told him how much of a disappointment he was to her and their mother, how his kids would resent him some day, how he should be ashamed of himself. Gemmas words must have hit a nerve, or at least talked some sense into him. The following week Harry had done a complete 180 again and the visits with the children, much to Oliviaâs dismay, were back on schedule.Â
It started with small incidents at first. Koa coming home crying, Lennon expressing her disinterest in going to her fathers house for weekend visits. The weekend before Fallonâs anniversary was the last straw. Koa was screaming and crying as Anneâs car pulled away from Elizaâs house. Eliza could hear his blood curdling shrieks from down the road as she stood frozen in her driveway watching her babies drive away. She hated sending them to him when they were in such a state but she couldnât figure out what the sudden change had been, they had always loved spending time with their dad until suddenly the didnât.Â
Harry came home from the studio at around lunchtime. His mum had brought the kids some hours earlier and Olivia had been with them for the few hours that they had been there. Harry did not expect to come home to two screaming, crying, hyperventilating children. How long have they been crying? Olivia rolled her eyes and told him they hadnât shut up since they had gotten there, adding in that they had given her a splitting headache and she was very happy he was home because now they were his problem. Harry knew in that moment that he would have to break up with her. Her small comments about his children and the mother of his children needed to stop, he thought that once she got used to the idea of having the kids around and spending more time with them to get to know them a little better that the comments would stop, but they didnât. He couldnât change her, her hatred for children was so deep seeded there was no flipping this situation. He thought that perhaps they could spend one last night together and that he would break it off in the morning once the children had left, but then he noticed the bruises on the childrenâs arms. When he asked Lennon what had happened she simply pointed to Olivia and that was enough to send him into a fit. Olivia had her bags packed and was out of the house by nightfall.Â
Elizas doorbell rang at approximately 7.45pm. She found Harry on her doorstep childless. She panicked thinking something had happened to the twins at first and he must have seen it in her face because he just about jumped at the chance to tell her that his mother was watching them. This had been the first time since the kiss that the two had seen each other.  She pulls the door open more than it had been and lets him stroll through. She makes him a coffee whilst she makes herself a tea and then he tells her everything. She wants to press charges, to hunt this lady down and give her a bruising. Harry tells her that the children need her to be with them at home and not in a jail cell, she decides for once that Harry may have the better judgement here and settles down with Harry promising to never bring her, or any other woman, around their kids every again. The following weekend, the family of four had an afternoon picnic at Fallonâs grave. It was nothing special, Eliza and Harry both cried the whole time, holding each other extra tight. It had been a rough year for the both of them, they had come so far yet here they found themselves back where they belonged the most... in each otherâs arms, surrounded by all their children. With Olivia gone, Koa and Lennon relaxed and seemed to be once again enjoying their time with Harry. Truth be told, she had been enjoying time with Harry too. He became a regular for breakfasts at Elizaâs, and then when the kids were at kindy he became a regular for lunch, and then dinner and then a regular in her bed. This has been over the course of a few months, Eliza made boundaries very early on and part of her stipulations were that they needed to have weekly therapy and not put too much pressure on themselves. In true Harry and Eliza style, the two didnât take things too slow.
Harry and Eliza remarried in a causal courthouse ceremony in late January, his mum and Gemma were their witnesses. They went to a swanky restaurant to celebrate with the most expensive Sunday roast dinner Harry has ever had in his life. Harry surprised the public with the news, they had somehow managed to keep the rekindling of their relationship under wraps and the media and fans lost their minds in unison. The pair were a hot topic for days.

Both Harry and Eliza were secretly relieved to only see one baby on the screen at the first appointment. Eliza decided to keep this pregnancy to herself, Harry had no tours and no press junkets and no radio interviews and the pair were both able to fully enjoy the pregnancy. Eliza went into labour in the early out of October 3rd, what would have been Fallonâs 6th birthday, and gave birth and home in the water just six hours later. They once again found themselves trending for days after the announcement of the birth of their son.Â
elizastyles for the last nine months, we have been holding the news of this little blessing very close to our hearts. Vanya and Allison were asleep in the backseat. Klaus, cramped between them, waved around a magazine he picked up from the last gas station you stopped at. Luther and Diego were discussing plans in the back, on the second row of seats.Â
Five took the passenger seat, he was very tired from all the driving. He refused to make any stops at all until it was absolutely necessary. The dark circles around his eyes begged him to sleep, but he couldnât. All he could feel was stress and desperation. I have to get my family to safety, he would think.Â
Your now clean hands were clenched around the wheel of the car. The city was getting closer every moment and you unconsciously pressed harder on the gas pedal.
âHey, hey! Careful there, I canât read well when you go that fastâ Klaus whined and you sighed. Right.
You saw Five look at his watch as he started bumping his right foot anxiously. Just a couple of metres away stood the âWelcome to Dallasâ board.
âOn time?â you ask, trying not to panic.
âExactly on timeâ he reassures you with a nod. âAre you ready?â Ready? You were terrified.
âYouâll be okay. Iâll come inside with you, just in case.â
âWhat do you think old John can do to harm me?âÂ
John was your boss in the 60s. Your salvation. He was mesmerized by your voice that day at the bakery, and he kept asking people around until he found you. It was your second night sleeping under the open sky, and little did you know it was all going to change. He made you a star. One makeover later and a lot of clothing stores you basically swapped lives with Allison. He let you live in the apartment above the club.Â
And he was probably also six feet under right now.Â
âOh I wouldnât be worried about him.â Five replies sarcastically. âMaybe he has a son. Whoever is in charge of the place, might be an issue for us.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âI just⌠What if he wonât cooperate? What if he wonât understand, or worse, give us to the policeâŚâ after he said that, he looked zoned out for a moment, as if he was going through all the possible ways your plan could fail.Â
If the police found you, you would be going straight to jail. There was no doubt that the Hargreeves could pay for your bail. So no worries with the police, really. But you were never going to be a free woman. The Commission would search for you, and if you killed one of them again, they would send new men after you until they made sure you were gone for good. As gone as the one you saw bleed to death.Â
You put your hand on his knee as you turned left onto the main street. If the club was still standing it should be just around the corner.Â
His attention switched back to you and he scoffed quietly. âLook at us. Just a couple of hours ago you were the one having a panic attack and now itâs my turn.â
A small smile appeared on your face. âWeâre a team, remember?â And he mirrored the expression just before you parked the car.Â
âAlright everybody, listen up!â he shouts so that everyone would turn and look at him. The sisters woke up too. They were all on the same train now. âMe and y/n are going to walk inside this club and arrange something so weâll sleep safely for tonight. Vanya is going to wait in the car, ready to drive away and help us escape. Diego and Luther will wait outside. Got it?â Diego raised an eyebrow but Five continued âJust in case anything happens. You never know.âÂ
âIâll wait with them, I need to breathe some fresh airâ Allison said as she stretched her arms as far as she could in the small van.Â
âAlright thenâ Five said, looking at the main entrance of the club through the passenger window. âLetâs get to this y/nâ he gave you a small smile.Â
You searched for his hand and squeezed it gently.Â
The doors of the car closed behind you two as you got out of the car. Diego, Luther and Allison were pretending they were just locals talking about what not, getting closer to the big glass doors. When they stopped walking Diego turned a bit to the left and started laughing. This was it, your sign to go.Â
âHey, be safe, okay? Leave as soon as anything gets out of hand. We can find some other place to stay at.â Vanya told you when you were ready to get out of the car. Your best friend was worried about you, of course. She is always a bit anxious. But you had no other choice.
On the way here you were mentioned 8 times on the radio. You and the Hargreeves. Wanted criminals. This was your only chance to find shelter. If this didnât work, you couldnât really find some other place. You would pretty much have to sleep in the car or on the streets. No, impossible, you couldnât go through that again.Â
âWeâll be fine Vivi.â She chuckles sadly at the nickname you gave her in the early stages of your friendship.Â
âKlaus, hand me that magazine! Itâs my turnâ Vanya said while tapping her fingers on the steering wheel. Â
âAh, fine.â he whined. âTurn on the radio.â
Hand in hand with Five you made your way to the front hall of the club, heading towards the bar, which was on a platform just above the empty dance floor. You took your sunglasses off as you sat on one of those black stools at the bar. Same leather like 50 years ago. It felt surreal to be here again, with Five sitting next to you.Â
âWhat are you doing so early? And with a kid? There ainât no party yet ms.â you couldnât help but smile as you recognized the southern drawl. You pushed your foot on the floor and rotated the chair. There she was, with her hair pinned up the same way as always, wearing short heels that matched her dark lipstick. It had been so long since you had seen her.Â
Amy Stephens, your boss Johnâs little sister. She should be 74 by now, and even though she was just 17 when you started working at the club, you still knew who she was. Amy was the only friend you had during those months when you were alone. You showed her how to do her make up, you went shopping together when you needed new stage outfits, you taught her how to fight, something John wouldâve scolded you for if he found out.
âHello.â you said looking kindly at your old friend. âIâm not here for any party. Iâm just looking for someone.â
âOh well, letâs see if I can be of any help to ya. What you got?âÂ
âDo you happen to know a Stephens?â Five asked her.Â
âStephens? Yeah, yeah, thatâs me kid. With what business are you coming here?â she questioned resting her arm on her hip.Â
âAre you in charge of the place?â you said putting your glasses in the pocket of your jacket.
âSure am. Can I help you?âÂ
âYeah⌠we⌠uh⌠a friend told us you used to give the apartment for rent? Is that⌠still available?â You didnât quite know how to carry the conversation without blowing your cover.Â
âAh, yes. Itâs been a long time since anyone slept in there. You knew the famous y/n Hargreeves used to live here?â Five suppressed a smile, winking at you, but the woman didnât notice. âDo you kids even know her? You look young. Anyways, popular singer back in 62. Or was it 63?â she muttered.
âBig fansâ Five told her.
Your name wasnât Hargreeves, of course, but you had no certificate when your boss found you. So you did everything you could to associate yourself with Five and his siblings in hope you might find them.
âWould you be interested in staying here?â
âYes, thatâd be really niceâ Five said eagerly.
âFollow me, Iâll show you around.âÂ
The door to your old apartment opened and little dust particles could be seen floating in the morning light. Amy pushed the wooden door with her shoulder and walked inside.Â
âMy God, we havenât been in here since Ms Hargreeves moved out. Seems like she really was our last tenantâ she whispered, but you heard her well. âBut donât worry children, the place is clean. Thereâs two bedrooms and a bathroom, a small kitchen and a balcony. Come comeâ. You knew that grin, it meant the apartment has probably been rotting ever since you left.
She led you to the bedroom that wasnât used when you lived here. âSee, two rooms, perfect for you and the kid, huhâ She tried to convince you. Five chuckled and put his arm around your waist when she turned around to walk to the main bedroom.
âAnd this⌠this is the second one. Theres still a luggage full of her stuff under the bed but I can get rid of that for ya.â she slapped her hand on the mattress and more dust came out of it. âSo what you thinkinâ? You like it here?â
âOh that's not a problem girl, bring them in. As long as you donât make too much noise after 11 pm, weâre all good.â
You shared a look with Five to tell him This is the best we could do. He nodded and you both turned to look at Amy who was now staring uncomfortably at the two of you. Yeah, you would have to hide your relationship around her. He moved his hand casually and then you spoke again. âYes, this is quite what we were looking for. But itâs not just us. Weâll be 7, including me, my boyfriend and his 5 siblings.âÂ
âIsnât there noise from the party downstairs anyways at that hour?â Five asked her. The expression on Amyâs face changed as she looked down.Â
âThe party huh⌠youâre not from here are ya? Well, I was just joking earlier, kid. When y/n Hargreeves left the club, the people got angry. She was the main reason why people still came. Most stopped coming after some time, it simply wasnât smart to keep the club partying. Now itâs nothing more than a property.âÂ
They⌠went bankrupt, because you stopped showing up? You knew people loved you, but John never told you you were the one holding up their business. A tear rolled down your cheek. All that fame, all the posters. You had bleached your hair when you returned to 2019 and you wore sunglasses everywhere. No one could know who you were. Some get their 30 seconds of fame, you got your year. One year could mean your whole life sometimes.Â
You were laying on Elliotâs couch with the phone pressed between your ear and shoulder as you were trying to take off your coat. Five reached to help you mouhting I got it. He took your coat to the hanger and then disappeared into the kitchen.Â
âHello, this is John Stephens speaking.âÂ
âHi, John. Itâs just me, y/n. I- uh, Iâm calling from a friend's house. I think Iâm going to spend the night. Just thought itâll be fine for you to know in advance.âÂ
ây/n, yes. So, what youâre saying is... that you wonât be here in time for tonightâs show?â he said anxiously. You didnât know this at the time, but he was worried about losing profit.
âNo no, I just- I would really want to hang out with my friend and itâll be just for tonight.â
Gosh, you were reasoning with him as if he were your dad.
âOh,come on, Hargreeves. Not even one song?â
You laughed at how disparate he was. âSorry. Not even one. Iâll be gone til morning. But Iâm sure no one will miss me that much. Besides, you can always ask Amy to sing. Sheâs been getting better. For real, John. That girl has potential.â
âThere ainât no well in hell Iâm letting my sister get up in front of all these drunks to sing. Sheâs just 17, woman!âÂ
You couldnât stop laughing now. âGoodnight, John. Iâll- Well Iâll see you on Monday if we donât run into each other.â
âHave a nice evening, y/nâÂ
You hung up the phone and rose from the couch. When entering the kitchen you saw Five pouring coffee in two big mugs. You went and hugged him from behind, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. You could feel him smiling as you kissed him again. He took the mugs and turned around to face you leaning on the counter.
âDid you miss me?â he asked innocently, making you giggle.Â
You leaned in and kissed him. You could still taste the coffee on his lips. He kissed you back and you felt him smirk as you laced your hands behind his neck.Â
âDid I miss you?â you asked him back rhetorically. And you could see how eager he was to meet your lips again. You gave him a quick peck on the lips, and one on his shoulder, and then you hugged him tightly. âI did. A lot.âÂ
âI know what itâs like to be alone. I promise you, we wonât have to go through that again. Iâll try everything I can do to be together forever.âÂ
âForever?â you asked.
âAssuming you wonât kick me out, of course.â You smacked his arm.
âIdiot.â you said between laughs. âGive me one of those mugs.âÂ
He hands you your coffee and you take a sip. âBlack?â
âWe have a lot to talk about,â he said. Â
You both sat back on the couch and went over anything and everything. How you got famous. Where the others were. How he just arrived. What he saw. How long everyone had been here.Â
âHow long do we have?â you asked, searching for his eyes.Â
He leaned back on the couch. âA lot more than last time. Enough time to find out what causes it, and more importantly, how to stop it.âÂ
You smiled at his words. After all this time, you were finally reunited, and no one was rushing you now. You had nothing to lose anymore, except time. Your hands unconsciously inched towards his thigh and you traced small hearts on his leg. âThat means we can breathe safely for a while, right?â
Five brought you closer to him, straddling him now. He brushed your hair behind your ear so you could see him better. Your fingers explored his face carefully. The bump of his nose, his cheeks, his dimples as he grinned at you. Gosh, how you had missed his dimples. You missed everything about him.Â
âWe have almost one full year,â he said.Â
âThen we better make the best of it, right?â you said as your lips brushed against his.Â
He laid his head on the fluffy cushions and you followed, not breaking eye contact. His blue eyes scanned yours and your soul ran wild. You towered over him and pressed your forehead on his. Suddenly, the sound of the cars outside stopped and it all went silent. In this moment, there was only you and him. And this moment would exist forever.
You had to make up for all the time you were apart. You kissed him passionately, closing your eyes. His hands flowed along your curves and rested on your hips, pressing you hard on his chest. The kiss tasted like his favourite kind of coffee. Every movement of yours was matched instantly by him. He didnât need words to know. Neither did you.Â
Five pulled away for a second, looking at you lovingly, desire clear in his eyes. He took your left hand in his and shifted you so that you were laid on your back. He sat on his elbows just above your head. Your hands hugged his shoulders, getting him to slowly bend down. You could feel your eyes fill with tears as you watched him watch you. A flash of worry appeared on his face, but just for a moment.Â
Five wiped your cheeks with the back of his palm, and kissed your cheeks. You kissed his hand and he kissed yours back, his hot breath fanning over your sensitive skin. His kisses started to travel upwards, to your elbow, then shoulder, then neck, then down again. You closed your eyes as his kisses passed your collarbone. He tugged softly on your shirt.Â
âMay I?â he hummed with a boyish smirk you hadnât seen in a long while. You nodded, brushing his hair back.
âYes, please.â you flushed.
He started unbuttoning your shirt, enjoying every second of it. With every button, he would press one more kiss. With every breath, you would inhale his sweet scent, praying to never forget it.
The morning was cold. Diego and Lila were asleep in the bedroom, Elliot on an armchair. Oh, the poor man couldn't even sleep in his own bed. Five was on the couch, next you. You pushed the blanket closer to him and got up after pecking his forehead.Â
âGoodmorning, y/n.â he whispered, not even bothering to open his eyes.Â
âMorning, Five.âÂ
âWhere are you going?â he whined.
âOh donât worry, Iâll be right backâ
You searched for your shirt and pants only to find them underneath your pillow. Getting dressed up in a hurry, you covered your shoulders with what seemed to be another blanket⌠or a really long scarf. Either way, it was warm enough. You reached for a cigarette in your pocket and made your way outside.Â
You sat on the cold stairs that led up to the entrance of the building and watched the people pass the alley.Â
âLook at them, rushing to get to their shitty jobs in time, to get their kids to school, rushing, rushing, rushing.â you scoffed under your breath.
âGood thing we donât have to rush anywhere, right?â a voice startled you. You turned your head to the door to see Five already dressed nicely with a mug of, probably, coffee again. How convenient it could be for him sometimes to jump through space. Always a step ahead of you.
âThat's not healthy.â he pointed at your cigarette.Â
âThatâs not eitherâ you said gesturing to his drink and he chuckled, amused.
âYeah, well, at least I wonât get sickâ he sat down, resting his head on your shoulder.Â
âWe canât have that happen. Even a cold can be deadly for an old man like you.â You bumped your cigarette on the side of his mug smiling. âCheersâÂ
Making your way back to the car you saw everyone was outside.Â
âVanya why are you not in the car?â Five asked immediately.
âIt just took too long and I was worried.â
âIs it so hard to just stick to the rules? Is it? All you had to do was sit there.â he sighed.
Everyone looked worried, so you smiled softly. âWe got the key guys, itâs all good. Letâs go upstairs, Iâm tired.â
âThank, God.â Allison said so relaxed, unaware of the gun pointing at her from behind a tree nearby. She walked to the clubâs doors. âLetâs go.â

âThereâs not a single reason I can think of for me to let you see her. You may be her father, but Iâm her everything.â and âThereâs nothing you can do, this is it. This is how it goes.â for Andy if your still doing prompts :)
Thank you very much! I hope you like these? :)) â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
This one isnât for the faint of heart, yâall! Itâs pretty dark & intense!
~*~
7. âThereâs not a single reason I can think of for me to let you see her. You may be her father, but Iâm her everything.â
69. âThereâs nothing you can do, this is it. This is how it goes.â
Sheâs sleeping soundly again, not noticing the raging summer storm that rests beyond the cottage windows. You tuck your fingers underneath the spare tufts in her pink blanket, enjoying the warmth. When she stirs you give her back a rub, pulling her closer to your chest. Baby Dolan is a snorer, much like her dad can be.
Andy.
You were trying (and failing) not to think about him. Ever since the incident had occurred, you basically checked out. Leaving your apartment behind, only giving your mother your contact information - you drove here with your newborn. The little one stirs, making those cute little bubbly noises of contentment, and that sends you into those stomach-churning memories. Andy.
You have been in love with Andy Dolan since you were assigned as his assistant when he got his big break. But he always put your advances on the back burner, instead choosing what fame had brought, along with addiction. You even had to watch him marry another woman and get her pregnant, losing himself further - demolishing his marriage, abandoning his daughter. Like a fool you had stood by him, vowing to help him, especially once his career began spiraling. You felt like a maid, cleaning up after him, reminding him to shower or change his clothes sometimes.
It went on that way for months. How naĂŻve you were to think you could save him by yourself. He needed help, someone professional to hold the suitcase whilst he unpacked the baggage. You nearly paid the price for your loyalty, almost losing the one good thing Andy ever did give you - a baby girl. Your whole entire world and then some.
You became one of Andyâs typical one night stands and a cliche result had erupted. He had promised he would shape up, but you knew that if he couldnât care enough for Sky, he wasnât going to care enough for his second born. Still, you gave him every available chance to be involved. When he stopped answering your texts and failed to tell you about a movie he received a role in - you had to check reality. Andy Dolan fucked you because he could, not because he loved you or respected you, hell, he probably had forgotten all that youâd done for him.
He came to one ultrasound and sent you flowers for the birth. You and your daughter were another tabloid story in his life. Then when you had the little girl, it took Andy three weeks to request a visit, one that was cut abruptly short when he was holding the baby and she threw up on his silk robe, upsetting him. He handed her off and told you heâd be right back. He never came back, not until you left.
Another month had went by before you even considered letting him ask you to bring her over. He was ready to leave for his movie and he wanted to visit her. You supposed you owed it to your child to make it work. Boy you were foolishly wrong...
Andy seemed sober, clean and shaven. Thatâs why you decided to let him watch her as you briefly went to change your t-shirt to nurse her easily. Mere minutes ticked by and thatâs when you remember the sickening crash from downstairs, preceding the horrifying wail that came from your childâs lips. Your heart is racing at reliving the memory, feeling that dreading lurch, that vice like chill that froze your blood, sticking to your insides like a paralyzing plague. You saw the mess of blankets when you had rounded the corner, then you finally caught sight of your babygirl.
She lay in a heap on the floor, on her back, screaming in a tiny terror that made you collapse and crawl towards her on your shaky knees. You had gathered her up and looked over her, cozying her to your chest to try and calm her tiny, racing heartbeat. The tears were pouring from your eyes, much like they blur your vision now. You can still see Andy stumbling in, running a hand through shorter hair, pupils dilated, looking at the counter, at the baby, then at you. It didnât take a genius to realize that your newborn had fallen from his countertop and onto the cold floor.
His own brain had struggled to comprehend, putting a hand up to signal an apology, eyes wide and glazed.
âI didnât... I only left her up there for a second. Y/N...â
You didnât care how he had began to tremble, the water pooling in his own vision. It took a near tragic event for him to see that getting high and leaving his newborn daughter alone on a kitchen counter was dangerous? His staff charged in moments later, coming to your aid. You were on autopilot when you handed them the shaky infant. As soon as she was safely out of your arms and they stepped away, you charged at Andy - fists pounding on his chest, hands smacking at every inch you could reach.
âYou stupid fucking junkie! You almost killed our baby!â
âI didnât know, I didnât mean to! Y/N, I would never do anything to ââ
Smack. You had backhanded him so hard that he collided into the edge of the counter by force. You had panted through with a breast - soaked shirt, the baby still fussing in the background. You were eerily strong in your watery voice. You jabbed a finger at him.
âYou better fucking leave for your crappy film, because if you donât I will have you thrown in fucking jail! You need help, but Iâm through trying to be the one that gives it to you! And I donât want your empty apologies, I donât want your money to help with her, I donât want anything to do with you! If you attempt to come near me or my child, I will make sure you regret ever meeting me, do you understand, Andy?â
You left him in shambles, taking your baby with you. Youâd gotten her looked over and admitted what happened. The press had put together a story and you knew it was inevitable that your business was going to be blasted. You hadnât cared anymore. You didnât want your childâs traumatic ordeal as a tabloid headliner, but she also needed to be seen by a doctor after her fall, and you wanted her to be cleared of injury.
Andyâs reputation didnât matter to you. Once the comments started flooding in, Andyâs team had blowed your phone up - Andy included, attempting to smooth things over. You didnât want to deal with the exposure that came with his lifestyle, not right then, so you took your baby for some solitude. The baby coos in her sleep, restarting your current predicament. You draw a shape on her tiny cheek, trying to ignoring your buzzing cell phone.
Andy may not know where you are, but that hasnât stopped him from exploding on your phone for the past six weeks. Each message more desperate and broken than the last. His apologies, his regret, his newfound sobriety shining through. You arenât having it. Being grateful that heâs sober and forgetting what had to happen for him to be humiliated and forced into it are two very different things. You raise up to tuck the baby into her downstairs crib, scrolling across your recent text message notification thread with her father.
Y/N... you have to have heard that Iâve been clean for a month now. Câmon, please?
I can see Sky, why canât I see her?
You know how much I care about you too.
I fucked up, sweetheart. Please donât do this.
I didnât mean to get you dragged into this motherfucking nightmare...
You canât take it anymore. Your fingers tap harshly at the phone, pressing send.
âThereâs nothing you can do, this is it. This is how it goes.â
The dots of a wavy response begin immediately.
Iâm her father! I need to see her, to be with her! I love her, I love
The dots stop and then start themselves, settling on silence. Your heartbeat is thrumming in your throat. Youâre not even getting into your feelings for him, or whatever feelings heâs pretending to have for you. You shake it off, giving one of your last responses.
âThereâs not a single reason I can think of for me to let you see her. You may be her father, but Iâm her everything.â
You donât pick up your phone to read anything else, but you canât deny the irritating sting that comes when he doesnât send another response. Thatâs cut off, however, when your phone begins to ring. You hold it in your hands, Andyâs picture and name staring back at you from the glowing screen. You direct your focus to the baby and her sweet blonde curls, sound asleep, your eyes dancing back to her daddy on the screen.
âWhat the fuck am I supposed to do?â You whisper into the silence of the room.
The thunder roars in the distance, your only response.

Grey Eyes
This is in response to a prompt I received:
camryn-bria I have a Linzin headcanon that there is a secret (airbending) child. Â Could you write a one-shot of Tenzin finding out Lin is pregnant after breaking up with her.
Iâll probably put in a better summary, tags or notes later on. But hope you enjoy this đÂ
(So I had too much fun (maybe) with this and it ended up being a two-parter rather than a one-shot, hope this is okay)
Lin/Tenzin pre-canon fanfic | 1 of 2
 Legend of Korra
---
Despite what the public thought, Chief Toph Beifong was not a heartless person.
While truly a strong woman, it did not mean she did not have emotions. Family and friends played a huge role in occupying a space in her heart.
Family.
It was precisely because of family why she was pacing in front of the doctorâs examination room.
Toph closed her eyes in worry.
Of her two daughters, Lin was the one most like her.
Her youngest daughter, Suyin, at her current state, probably was who her own mother wanted her to be.
Initially scoffed at and at the brink of being of being disrespected, Toph Beifong later on was reputed to be one of the toughest police chiefs that the region has even had.
She had welcomed her daughter during her second year as a police chief of Republic City. The father, unfortunately, passed.
Linâs father was Tophâs fellow detective. Toph had just given birth to her and was out of the force when Kanto responded to a call. He was hit and he died.
Since then, Toph promised herself that it would simply not do to miss time at work.
The first few months of raising Lin were particularly difficult. She had then elected to live near her married friends, Aang and Katara.
Toph took it hard â spent time away from Lin for the next months and sent her to Air Temple Island. She eventually got back to her senses, realizing her daughter needed her and had reached back to take care of Lin.
Lin always wanted to be like her mother and the father she barely met. Suyin, on the other hand, well, that was another story.
âMom.â
Tophâs reverie was interrupted by the soft voice of her eldest child.
âOh, Lin.â
In Linâs hand was an ultrasound photo of a child, Lin took her motherâs hand and read out to her the notes on the photo.
Indeed, Lin was the child most like her mother.
 ---
What was he doing here? He has some nerve.
âAunt Toph?
She tried to ignore the tall bald man in her office.
âAunt Toph?â
Persistent little bugger, eh?
âThatâs Chief Beifong to you.â She felt him squirm and fidget. âThe citizens desk is on the other floor. Or have you gotten lost?â
âI, uh, no. I actually wanted to see Lin.â
âCaptain Beifong, you mean.â
She felt him flinch. Good.
âI -.â
âDonât you worry your bald head about it, Master Tenzin.â Aspersion dripping with every word. âCaptain Beifong is away on suspension. She wonât be bothering you any time soon.â
âBut â no! I didnât come here to complain or file charges.â Toph could here the shock at Tenzinâs voice. âYou didnât have to â she didnât need to be suspended!â
Chief Beifong ignored him. âCaptain Beifong caused destruction to property â Air Temple Islandâs reconstruction will be done soonest â and basically threatened you, a government official. She would have received worse.â
âBut -.â
âIs there anything else, Councilman?â
âUhm, no. Iâll just drop by Linâs.â
âShe not there,â Toph felt the airbender pause at her door. âSheâs suspended until further notice; and she been sent away from Republic City.â
 ---
At least that was what the press was informed, to explain away the disappearance of a prominent person
But internally, with the higher ups in the Republic City Police Department, they knew differently. They were told that she was out undercover and they better not try to make contact â or there will be consequences.
Toph was proud of her daughterâs strategy. She had been an absentee mother in the past years. She wanted to make up for it by supporting Linâs decisions.
Even if it meant no contact with her in the next months.
 ---
Lin found herself in a remote Earth Kingdom town which used to be a Fire Nation colony. She had come to this place years ago in a recon mission and had known that there were a good mix of nations, making it easy to blend in.
Her current mission was not anything dangerous â just another reconnaissance mission to look into whether there was some truth to the formation of a new organization similar to the New Ozai Society, who would seek to undermine the United Republic.
As someone fresh out of her 20s, Lin thought she was (or she should be) fit enough for the job at the local bar. Thankfully, she was able to convince the barkeep to hire her even after telling him of her predicament (she wondered if maybe the man really just needed help so badly). She also figured it was a good place to get in with the locals and, well, the local gossip.
Lin opted to keep her first name (common as it was anyway), rented a small apartment unit walking distance from the city center, and now, had landed a job  (that hopefully placed her in a good spot to fulfill her mission) which paid adequate wages.
She felt she was prepared to start anew â a new job, a new mission, and a baby on the way.
 ---
Tenzin huffed as he consulted his map.
He had gone to Gaoling, to the Beifong ancestral home (that was were Suyin was sent there before anyway. But Lin wasnât there.
He even went out of his way and chanced a visit to Zaofu.
Su was surprised to see him and, no, she has not seen or talked to her sister in years.
Instead, the airbender got a slap for his efforts (âYou idiot! You broke my sisterâs heart!â âYou werenât even talking to her! You donât know whatâs with her.â âI knew enough to know that she loves you!â).
He tossed the map aside. He was stumped; he didnât know where else to look for Lin.
He did not even notice his mother, watching from the doorway of his study, looking at him with concern.
 ---
âHey, get away from him!â
âEh! And whatâre you gunnâ do âbout that lady?â
âIâll show you!â
âWhat the -!â
âScram!â
âAlright, weâre going â weâre going!â
The earthbender turned to the young man on the ground (maybe late teens or early twenties in age, she guessed) who was of Water Tribe ethnicity. âHey kid, are you okay?â
âIâm fine â didnât need your help.â The man grumbled, standing up and dusting himself.
âRight.â The woman stated, obviously not believing it as she had just walked across the scene of several benders pulling up by his collar, whether they were mugging him or not, she did not wait to find out before launching some rocks from the road at the thieves. âOf course, you didnât need help. You had it all in control, didnât you?â She deadpanned.
The man rolled his eyes. âA truth seer, arenât you?â
She crossed her arms. âMaybe.â
âNo â I donât think so.â The water tribe man shook his head. âThanks though.â
The earthbender extended to shake his hand.
âLin.â
He clasped it with his own.
âNoatak.â
 ----
Months passed and Tenzin had not lost hope in finding Lin, but he had to admit that the hope was fast dwindling.
Twice Chief Beifong had said that Captain Beifongâs whereabouts were none of his business and that she will put his sorry ass in jail if he pried once more.
Neither Chief Beifong or anyone from his family shared any input to the media as to his relationship status. The disappearance of Lin Beifong and the sudden reconstruction of some of the pavilions at Air Temple Island made up much of the chatter and gossip though.
His cheerless disposition just about confirmed everything anyway.
 ---
Meanwhile, in the Earth Kingdom, Lin finally gathered enough courage to send out a letter to Tenzin. She had used a post officeâs box from two towns away to ensure that he would not be led directly to her should he decide to respond.
After contemplating on the matter for the past months, and after finally admitting to herself, she decided to give Tenzin the option to be a father to their child.
It was the least she could do. She did not want her (their) child to grow up without a father if he was willing to be there. She knew, she grew up with, the alternative to that.
We may no longer be together, but it does not change the fact that this child is yours as well. Iâm giving you this chance â to either declare this child as your own or to simply ignore and disregard this. I am fully capable of raising this child as my own so I am open to giving you an out.
Well then, so the proverbial ball was in the airbenderâs court.
Gently, placing a hand on her now visible pregnant belly, Lin knew the waiting game has started.
 ---
In an ill-conceived attempt to raise his spirits, the Air Acolytes of Air Temple Island saw it fit to host a birthday celebration for him. His mother had given it a go signal as she was also at her witsâ end to help bolster his mood. Even the passing of her husband (his father) did not seem to have dragged him down this way.
What Katara did not know, however, was that the press had somewhat managed to get in with the festivities as well.
The papers for the next few days ran a feature on the last airbenderâs birthday celebration. They also printed a picture of him with just about any single female he talked to during the party.
This was followed by a steady stream of letters and messages poured into Air Temple Island as well as into Tenzinâs office at city hall.
The first few letters, Tenzin had deigned to read.
But after the seventeenth letter, the airbender, with a furious blush on his skin, went to the kitchen where his mother was calmly instructing an acolyte for tonightâs dinner.
âMother!â
Katara dismissed the acolyte before turning to her son. âWhat is it?â She held out her hand to take one of the letters that Tenzin was waving at her.
The waterbender briefly went through the letter. It appeared that â
âThey have been sending me propositions!â Tenzin exasperatedly explained, showing the envelopes with addresses coming from different parts of the world. âEver since the broadsheets and tabloids have been putting in these features about me being single.â He continued to pace in the kitchen while Katara went through the other letters. The content was fairly similar â a Fire Nation noble offering his daughter in marriage, an Air Acoylte from the Eastern Temple sharing her daughterâs knowledge of all things Air Nomad culture, an Earth Kingdom merchant living in the upper ring boasting of his niece⌠âIâm not interested in any of these, Mother. I just â I just -.â He took a deep breath. âI need to find Lin. Itâs only been Lin.â
Katara could believe that.
âI know â Mother, if letters come to the island for me, please send it to my office. Iâll have my secretary handle them.â
And with that, Tenzin swept away, leaving Katara to only wonder and hope that whatever he thought of would truly help him out.
 ---
I see.
So he has made his choice.
Lin gripped tightly the letter she received in response to the one she had sent.
She tried but there was nothing she owed him now.
The earthbender then tossed the letter into her drawer, to be hidden from prying eyes, to try and forget its existence.
Thank you for your interest but I already have a life partner.
I would like to request for your respect in this avenue and refrain from sending any more letters in this similar vein.
Respectfully yours,
Tenzin

Noatak knocked on the door one more time.
Lin was nearing her due date and the barkeep had place a notice for a reliever, a substitute while Lin was out.
The Water Tribe man took the opportunity â he had been juggling different jobs in town anyway so whatâs one more?
Lin had been showing the ropes to him the past few days and was always ever so prompt so that they have enough time before opening.
This was why he stood at her front door now. The earthbender failed to show up at their regular time and so he worried.
âLin? Are you there?â
There was no answer.
Something felt very wrong.
He looked to the left and looked to the right. No one was around and so putting his entire weight on it, he hit his shoulder against the door several times until it gave way.
âLIN!â
To his shock and horror, the pregnant lady slumped unconscious at her living room, blood surrounding her at the floor.
Noatak hurried to her, feeling her pulse and closing his eyes.
He had been hiding a secret for so long, no one knew in this new life he had been living. As far as they knew, he was a non-bender â no one had paused to ask, except this woman who had asked him and had graciously not pried further when he said he did not want to talk about his past. He knew she was trying to start a new life, but he wasnât sure why. She respected him enough as well to leave him to his privacy.
That day when the muggers had almost done him in, he thought that would have been the end of it, revenge be damned. To his surprise, someone did intervene for him.
Enough reminiscing for now though, because now, this woman needed him.
Taking a deep breath, Noatak reached forward his arms, allowing him to feel the push and pull from the two lives in front of him, not in the way his father wanted him to but to save these lives.
 ---
Tenzin was absentmindedly tapping his pen on todayâs agenda in the council meeting.
The monotony of his responsibilities to the city barely weighed on him now.
It was the same old routine at the council.
His interest was peaked when the doors opened and a man, who he recognized as Chief Beifongâs trusted secretary, hurried over to the Chief of Policeâs side, whispering quickly.
Toph Beifong suddenly stood up, muttering her excuses to the rest of the attendees of the council meeting and left (something about an urgent matter regarding one of her subordinatesâ mission?).
 ---
âChief, it would appear that the Captain has now given birth to a daughter.â
âWhat! I need to get to her.â
âUnfortunately, protocols still state that no contact be made -.â
âBut Iâm her mother.â
âPlease, Chief Beifong, Captain Beifong explicitly indicated that in her report as well. Everything is okay and not to let you go to her as it would impact her cover.â
Nonetheless, this did not stop Toph Beifong from instructing her secretary to send off a large box of baby things to a remote town in the Earth Kingdom.
 ---
The last airbender quickly made his way out of the restaurant where that farce of a stilted family dinner (that his mother insisted on) was still on-going.
It had been uncomfortable enough when Chief Beifong arrived, nary a word towards him but quite civil with his mother and their visitors. At some point during the meal, the Fire Lord started to pass around photographs of his teenaged grandson and even Chief Beifong was obliged to share photos of her own grandchildren.
Tenzin tried to ignore the longing gaze his mother had on the photographs.
He met the eyes of his brother, who coincidentally was stationed this week near Republic City, who in turn shrugged back at him.
Yeah, thatâs not happening. Unless someone comes forward to speak up about the fruits of Bumi having sown his wild oats, their mother would need to wait a little longer to have her own grandchild.
âAnd who might this be?â His mother brought up a photo of a baby.
âDid Su have another child?â Fire Lord Zuko peered at the small plastic booklet that Toph had fished from her uniformâs pocket.
âEh?â Toph reached out to get it back, fingers running through the little indentions at the edge, helping her identify the labels on the photos.
Tenzin did not miss the quick panic that showed on the metalbenderâs face before it was back to her inscrutable expression.
âItâs an old photo of one of her boys.â She promptly placed the booklet of photos back into her pocket. âI must have taken it by accident.â
As the rest went about their meal, Tenzin could not help but revert to the photograph of the baby. The baby appeared to be a couple of months old andâŚthere was something that was niggling the back of his head about the child.
Conversation went to work, the new policies in the United Forces, the statue of Fire Lord Zuko in Republic City⌠They were all pleasantries that Tenzin did not want to talk about.
As soon as it was acceptable, he had excused himself from dinner, citing an urgent deliverable from city hall. No one tried to stop him and everyone took it at face value. He had, after all, buried himself into work in the past months in between trying to look for Lin. The airbender simply did not believe anymore that she was merely suspended from the Force after being absent for more than a year now.
Tenzin thought that Suyin Beifong, by now, would have an idea as to her sisterâs whereabouts. Recalling their last interaction, however, he rubbed his cheek gingerly in recollection, he felt he needed to soften her up first.
Coming from that awkward dinner conversation, he had an idea.
Her children!
And that was how the airbender found himself at the nearest open store that catered to mothers that carried items (food, clothes, furniture, you name it) for their children.
Tenzin had a vague recollection on how old Suâs children were. He was unsure, though, as to what do kids at those age need or want. He figured that the storeâs clerk would know and headed to the storeâs counter, waiting until the clerk finished assisting two ladies in selecting the best bassinet that the store offers.
The airbender leaned on the glass counter, tapping absentmindedly as he was wont to do when waiting --- when he saw a brown box just behind the counter hidden from view of the common customer (it just so happened he was tall and nosy enough to see it). There was a small sticky note that caught his attention:
Monthly order of Chief Beifong.
Why on earth would Aunt Toph have a monthly order at this place when her own children have long since grown up?
Tenzin twisted his neck to peer at the label of the box, to check the address, thinking that maybe it was headed to Zaofu for Suyin and her kids.
To his confusion, it was to a place within the Earth Kingdom.
Tenzin froze.
What ifâŚit was to another daughter and grandchild?
The photograph!
He now realized what bothered him â the baby in the photo was relatively fair-skinned and he was sure both of Su and Baatarâs children were tanned. Su was also not pregnant back when he last saw her so it could not have been a new Zaofu Beifong baby.
Toph Beifong would be hard-pressed to care about children or babies unless they were related to her.
This left Tenzin with only one plausible explanation.
The airbender then left the store, hurriedly making plans to get to the Earth Kingdom by the next day.
 ----
And there she was â as radiant as the last time he saw her (never mind that it was in the middle of the unleashing of her powerful fury upon his childhood home).
With a pang, Tenzin saw Lin Beifong carrying a baby, accompanied by a tall (and very young, Tenzin thought unpleasantly) man who appeared to be of Water Tribe descent. The two were engrossed in conversation that they missed the airbender who had been staring after them.
Tenzin had arrived at the town square and was about to head to the address he had committed to memory when he saw Lin. He was about to approach her when the Water Tribe man intercepted her. The airbender noted the familiarity with which the two interacted (it felt like the air was being squeezed out of his lungs). The man offered to take what Tenzin assumed to be a baby bag and Lin had easily acquiesced.
He surreptitiously followed Lin, unsure where they were going but not wanting to take the risk of losing sight of the earthbender he had been searching for quite some time now.
As he watched every exchange of the two, Tenzin could not help but feel at a loss. He had tried to think of every possible scenario, of what he would say, what he would do once he found Lin.
But none of the scenarios he imagined prepared him for the reality.
He never did imagine finding Lin as a mother.
He never did imagine finding Lin with a partner.
And she looked â content.
Tenzin felt a pit form at the bottom of his stomach. Could he â should he â possibly ruin this with his appearance?
Call him selfish butâŚheâll try just one last time. If there was an inkling, of the slightest chance of a future with Lin --- heâll gamble it.
For himself. For Lin.
 ---
âJinora, sweetheart, be a good girl for Noatak first, please? Mama needs to work for a bit.â
The eight-month-old child burrowed herself further into her motherâs arms but nodded nonetheless. âGood girl.â Lin gave her daughter a kiss on the forehead as the younger man hoisted the child, anchoring her to his hip.
Lin had gone back to work on a part-time basis, but more on the management side of the bar (accounting, menu planning, etc) rather than being actually behind the counter, serving the customers like before. The barkeep was pleased with Noatakâs performance during Linâs maternity leave that he had decided to hire him full-time.
They would usually come to the bar before opening hours, Lin to check on the previous nightâs accounting and Noatak with preparing with the rest of the crew.
Lin was scheduled to start with the local bookstore soon on her off-days from the bar.
Today, it was accounting morning at the bar. She would usually be able to have an hour or two of continuous work while the crew would take turns looking after her daughter if she were awake. If not, Jinora would be placed on her sling and Lin could still comfortably work.
Getting out several folders and her writing implements, Lin pulled out a chair near the window, preferring the natural light while working.
She managed to work for around ten minutes when a shadow fell on her work; before she could even raise her head to address who or what was blocking her light, she turned her head to the inner part of the bar as she heard her name being called.
âLiiiin!â
 ---
When he saw the Water Tribe man leave Lin with the child, Tenzin saw his chance.
He took some time to deliberate though; he observed her quietly, soaking in his view of the woman he had let go (and would be claiming back, if she would have him).
He took a bracing breath and entered the bar.
âLin!â
Lin would look up at him. âTenzin! What are you doing here?â
He would kneel â âIâm so sorry Lin, I know you have a child, Iâll love her like she were my own â I promise to treat you better than Mr Water Tribe there. Please Lin Beifong please â I regret letting you go, if youâll have me, Iâll want to spend the rest of my life proving my devotion to you. Please- Lin please.â
Then Lin would get up, maybe give him a slap harder than what Su gave him then give him a hug before making him work for it.
Before he could even say a single word to put his imagined scenario into action, another voice (that he was starting to dislike) rang out.
âLiiiin!â
âYes, Noatak?â Lin stood up quickly to address the young man, who was carrying a giggling baby at armâs length. âWhat is it? How is Jinora?â
Tenzin felt his heart skip a beat, that Lin named her daughter one of the names he wanted for their daughter⌠well, he was not sure how he felt about it. Maybe he will explore it a little bit more when he was alone but for nowâŚ
âI know I helped bring her into this world â,â
Tenzin blinked at the sudden hurt he felt at his chest at this.
âBut please, Lin â take your evil spawn away from me.â Noatak thrusted the still giggling child dramatically back at her mother, half kidding and half exasperated. âYou know how much time it takes me each more to fix my hair. Then this little girl here,â He tickles her side and Jinora squeals with laughter. âDecides to blow a gust of air to my face â imagine that!â
The airbender heard this and froze.
âI know you said this brat (âMy daughter isnât a brat!â) is part-Water Tribe,â He gestured to his now unkempt hair. âBut I donât think this is a sign of respecting her culture?â
âMy daughter is acting fine.â Â Jinora kicked her chubby legs as though to prove a point, disturbing the dust on the floor. âAnd we did discuss this â no training until sheâs older. I want her to have a normal childhood.â
âOk then,â Noatak waved his hand and nodded, obviously agreeing. âAnyway, Iâm in charge of family meal today so I better start prepping.â With one last tickle at the babyâs side, he left and headed to the kitchen.
Lin shook her head and called after him âIâll pack up and get back to the books later!â It would seem her daughter was in a mood today.
Speaking of mealsâŚ
Jinora had been tugging at her chest. âFeeding time is it?â
Tenzin watched Lin smile softly at the baby, a smile he saw rarely, a smile that he only saw between the dark of the night and daybreak, in between sleep and wakefulness as they laid in bed together.
He cleared his throat to remove a lump that was forming, a signal of impending tears.
Lin had forgotten about the newcomer as she angled the baby go position her for feeding when she heard someone clear their throat.
âIâm sorry, how can I help â,â Her eyes met familiar grey ones. âYou.â
 ---
There was a lot to take in.
The Earth Kingdom.
Lin.
The Water Tribe man (Noatak, he spat.)
Lin.
The baby.
The airbending baby.
Jinora.
There was no doubt on whose child Lin was carrying.
Tenzin pushed forward at the surprised earthbender to take them (her and their daughter!)Â into his arms.

Chapter 9
Birth
July 2016
Indigo was laughing when it happened, she was on the phone with Parker just catching up on all the drama sheâs missed over the past few weeks. She has been facetiming all of her new friends because she misses them and she wants to be updated on Lolaâs arrest. Lola messed with someone a month ago and they decided to press charges for harassment and it worked! Everyone was stoked, even miles were coming out of his Lola cocoon a little bit.
âYou should have seen her face!â Parker and her laugh when suddenly there was a bit of a wet feeling down south, now ever since month three indigo has peed a little when she laughs because that's just what happens, but this felt different. She brushed it off as her pregnancy symptoms not even realizing her due date is in a day.
However instead of it just being a small little leak that stops it just kept happening, a steady flow, was it barely noticeable, yes all until she sits down. She goes to take an afternoon bath because her back has been spasming all day. She takes off her clothes with a little bit of a struggle, she goes to step out of her underwear when a sharp pain stabs her in her lower back and pelvis.
Then she knows.
She goes back into the bedroom throwing on some clean shorts and a Leo shirt, she then carefully goes down the stairs to the kitchen where everyone else is. She gets to the doorway and when everyone looks up she suddenly gets nervous.
âUmmm⌠I think these two are ready to come out.â She mentally slaps her forehead with how dumb that sounded but the way Eloise calmly sets her mug of still hot tea in the sink and walks over to Indigo. She asks a bunch of questions that she no longer remembers as the panic of having to give birth sets in. Eloise sees this.
âLeo, would you be a sweetheart and go grab the bag I made you pack months ago please, Wyatt, will you call the hospital and let them know we are coming in. â She takes indigoâs hand and gives it a comforting squeeze.
âIâm okayâ She was being honest she hasnât had another contraction yet but it made her all the more anxious for when they do show up.
They got to the hospital and were taken into a birthing room right away. Doctors and nurses were taking diagnostics on her and every once in a while Indigo would notice a furrow of a brow and a concerned look.
She would try to ignore it and put it down to the doctors and nurses getting anxious about helping someone give birth. But when a doctor pulls Eloise to the side to talk to her the feelings all come crashing down. The contractions are getting closer every hour and they are becoming almost unbearably painful. She was angry and in pain and squeezing the life out of Leoâs hand, and he would let her.
They had planned a c-section beforehand, the thought terrified Indigo but she knew with her body and having more than one baby this was going to happen. But what she wasnât expecting was for it to become an emergency c-section!. Apparently the larger baby was facing the wrong direction and was making it so they needed to be removed as soon as possible. This means she has to be knocked out, and Leo canât be in the room.
They were getting her ready to wheel her out of the room whe Indigo pulled Leo down the collar of his shirt and gave him one last kiss just in case she didnât make it. They pull away and she relaxes a little into the bed as they take her away.
But that kiss fucked leo up for the rest of the day.
He would pace around the room, his heart pounding in his chest, his dad was taking pictures to make fun of him later with, while Eloise was equally nervous but not as obvious as Leo. Leo was going insane.
Running his hands through his hair tugging on his clothes sitting down for a couple minutes and tapping his foot before getting back up and pacing the room again. Asking if his parents need anything and they say no for the thousandth time.
When a nurse pokes her head into the room to give them an update Leo about cries in relief when they tell him that it is going smoothly so far. About an hour later a knock on the door catches their attention, when the door opens the same nurse comes in.
âWould you like to meet your son Mr. Knut.â They smile at Leo as she nods still in shock and follows the nurse to a room where babies are after being birthed in the operating room.
He was gorgeous. Small wispy tufts of hair were on his head, he had his mother skin and cheeks, his eyes werenât open so Leo couldnât tell what color they were. When he was handed his son she couldnât help but let a few tears fall down his face. He notices his dad holding up the camera and gives a shaky smile.
As he was setting Otto back into his medical cot the door opened, in came a much smaller baby but still beautiful.
âHere is your daughter, they are fishing up with Indigo and running some tests before bringing her back to the room.â The Nurse nods to the other nurse before turning to leave the room.
Leo reaches out to pick up his little girl and realizes just how small she is compared to her brother, he hope she wonât have any problems later on. Snuggling her to his chest just soaking in her warmth and the feeling of having a child he sets her back into the cot as they wheel both out to do some medical stuff.
Hours go by, they take Otto to have a couple of extra tests run and Leo hasnât stopped smiling. But the worry is still there. They are moved back into the room they were in originally to wait for Indigo to come back.
Time passes much fast once Leo is able to watch his kids through a window instead of just pacing around a white room. He notices that his son isnât as wiggly as the other babies in the baby jail but he tries not to worry about it too much.
They made it.
He was called back into the room as Indigo started to wake up. They smile at each other and cry as they hold their kids. This is a journey that has changed their lives forever.
And they wouldnât have it any other way.
Indigo meets Olive first. Itâs love at first sight, her little head on Indigoâs chest while the exhausted new mother takes to Eloise about something random that Leo isnât paying attention to. Olive has brown hair like her mom but the brightest eyes like him. They were a perfect mix.
Once the extra testing was done for Otto they brought him back into the room to eat and said everything looked fine. So, Leo stole Olive from Indigo as Otto was placed in her arms. Wyatt was constantly snapping photos and Eloise never looked so proud.
Their family was complete.
