I headcanon that Tim's caffeine problem functions like my friends caffeine problem. In that he actually hates caffeine but he'll chug 3 red bulls when he needs to lock in. He's going to stay up regardless of the caffeine thanks to the insomnia. But without it he's not going to brain very much. He likes coffee less but it's an acceptant substitute of energy drinks are not available. He'll drink the energy drink over like a really sweet frappaccino because it's the only thing guaranteed to keep him alert and at peak mental condition. He doesn't drink it as often as people think he does but when he does drink energy drinks, he'll consume and ungodly amount in one sitting. Then he'll crash at like 5 in the morning and complain when he has to wake up 3 hours later.

Jason Todd seems like the type to fall hard and fast. He might not admit it for a while, but he's been developing feelings for you from at least the second or third time you met.

He's the type to call you "Wifey" or "The Missus" even when you aren't married and regardless of whether or not you to plan to.

He absolutely keeps a picture or two of you in his wallet, and no, he doesn't think it's cheesy in the slightest.

He's the type to lay on you. Your chest, your tummy, even your butt if you're laying on your stomach, your size and weight is irrelevant.

You'll be minding your own business, laying down and reading a book or playing on your phone, and he'll come out of nowhere and drop all 230+ lbs of muscle on your smaller body.

If you wheeze and try to crawl out from under him, try to push his giant hulking form off of you, he'll just wrap his arms around you and tell you he's tired, and just needs a few minutes of sleep.

Doesn't actually spend as much time reading as he would like to, but if you enjoy reading he'll always find time to do it with you.

If libraries had gold card memberships, he would be the one to have it. He'd rent any and as many books as you want.

Sometimes, he'll go out of his way to find books he thinks you'd like or that you can read together. Sometimes, he'll even give you old books from his personal library if he thinks you'll enjoy them as much as he did

I don't think he's be huge on giving gifts, I see him as more of a quality-time type (but i see almost all of the bats as quality-time types so take that with a grain of salt), but I do think he'd give you lots of tiny gifts all the time.

He'll pick up a quick breakfast for the both of you at the local bodega, he'll get your pet treats, he'll bring over your favorite candy or snack everytime he comes over to your place, etc.

Loves movie nights. Doesn't matter which movie it is, it could be some dumb, low budget nightmare made to babysit kids, or the best piece of visual media ever made by human hands.

He loves being able to talk to you, he loves hearing your opinions, loves hearing your voice. He'll recommend movies to watch just because he knows you'll have a lot to say about them.

I don't think he'd have a big moment where he introduces you to his entire family, I think he'd introduce you slowly, one person at a time.

I think he'd start with Dick or Cass, or Alfred, then so on and so forth. I think Tim and Damian would either be dead last, or have to find out on their own.

The only reason the others were told by Jason straight up is because they have that bare minimum amount of respect to stay out of his business. 💀

If you're a civilian, I don't think he'd want you to have anything to do with the more dangerous side of his life. It's bad enough you're dating him to begin with, he doesn't want to put you at anymore risk.

It's a somewhat different story if you're another vigilante. I still don't think he'd want you involved in his work specifically, but he would at least know you could take care of yourself if it came down to it.

He almost always wakes up before and goes to bed after you.

He likes seeing you when you're asleep, your hair a mess, or your bonnet askew.He thinks you're so cute when you're sleeping.

I don't think he'd take lots of pictures, but i don't think he'd mind if you did.

He might actually enjoy it if you just have a ton of selfies with him.

You are his lockscreen. Whether that was a decision made by you or him is still up for debate.

Doesn't care if you're more masculine or feminine, i think he'd find something to enjoy about both aspects.

Or if you were more androgynous.

He'd for sure call you "My girl".

So with Fae!Dick, we all know that Bruce is just… not gonna say anything bc of his own mental health, but do you think the other batkids notice anything once they come along?

On one hand, I think someone would have to notice. If not Jason, then Tim, Steph, Barbara, or Damian bc, well, they’re BATS. They literally have been trained to notice things.

On the other hand, though, I think it would be HILARIOUS if they just attributed Dick’s Fae nature to him just being weird. Like, completely unaware he isn’t human. Maybe not entirely realistic but I think it leaves for some interesting comedic moments 😅

Honestly at one point I think it all devolves into plausible deniability. 😭😂

Jason is the first to notice something amiss, obviously. But he joins Bruce in pretending it‘s just Dick‘s general weirdness. After all, as long as the dog just howls once in a while it’s not necessarily a wolf, right? And Dick, after the initial hang up and trying to kill him a little, is sweet as a summer‘s day to him and viciously protective to boot. Galas and all the rich people there that used to treat Jason like a circus animal aren’t a problem anymore because Dick always swoops in like a bat out of hell and distracts the creepy old ladies with a charming smile until they walk away with vacant eyes. It‘s all pretty funny. And very weird. But hey, Jason gets a laugh out of it and that secretive little grin from Dick so whatever.

Tim I headcanon has Dick all figured out within a month of officially meeting him (the opposite of this would be Tim never figuring it out which is also kinda funny and just attributing it to his circus past or something) and is veeery cautious about interacting with Dick for a time. It makes Dick kind of sad and Tim can only withstand the puppy eyes so long until he caves.

Steph just kinda shrugs and accepts Dick‘s strangeness at face value. It ain’t hurting her so why should she bother? Dick is cool. She likes Dick. End of story, thank you and good day. And yeah, fine, some of his habits are downright weird and everything but who is she to judge? And he‘s always down to cause mischief with her which is?? Super cool???? Even the more devious pranks she can bribe him into joining by handing him a jar of fresh honey or hand picked fruit!! Anybody trying to say shit about Dick lands them on her hit list, period.

Cass is Cass. Nobody can fool her. She may not know what Dick is, but she‘s painfully aware he‘s other. Most wildlife treats him like bees would their queen, there‘s always the scent of pines and rain following him. Dick‘s body language says ‘playful-content-happy’ but his eyes say ‘dark-dangerous-predator’. It’s all very conflicting; a study of contradictions. Cass learns to go by what his body language says and quickly finds a kindred spirit in Dick, who somehow always seems to know exactly what she tries to express but has trouble translating into words.

I headcanon Damian grew up with folklore so while his first theory may not be “fae” he definitely has Dick down as something other than human. Which means he must be powerful. Which means Damian must keep himself in Dick’s good graces in the hopes of making the creature teach him how to be powerful in turn. And, well, the kid grew up with a grandad that regularly takes dips in a magical swimming pool. I don’t think there’s much that can genuinely shock him lol.

Duke is… well, he’s the sensible one so of course he’s the first one to actually ask questions. And then proceeds to go nearly insane because??? Nobody seems to?? Care???? That Dick just rotated his head a full 360°???? Or that the manor sure af isn’t supposed to??? Randomly add hallways???? Or that there’s a whole ass SWAMP that appeared in the basement overnight???? Or a door that leads straight into the forest?????? Duke very nearly nopes the hell out because that’s too much even for him. But finally, finally someone takes pity on him (I headcanon it’s Cass) and she doesn’t explain anything per se, she just kind of… shows Duke. Shows him around the manor, introduces him to twisting halls and strange rooms, takes him to where Dick is lounging with the rest of the family, purring like a content cat. And Duke still doesn’t understand, not completely, but Dick smiles at him with too many, too sharp teeth and tugs him into the huge cuddle pile and?? Are those feathers on his neck?? No, he must have imagined it. Anyway, Duke thinks he can handle this… strangeness, if it scores him a family like this. It’s Gotham, right? Weirder things happen here on the daily.

My Headcanons for the Spice Tolerance of various members and associates of the batfamily.

DICK: He isn't a wimp, but also not a spicy fan. Give him sweet any day. He'll eat the hot sauce from your local mexican restaurant but will avoid spicy challenges at all costs. Has been burned by Jason's food more than once. Does have a liking for sour candy.

BARBARA: Not terrible, but very much not her thing. She likes sour and occasionally bitter. She will not eat your hot sauce. Handles it much better than some, but would rather not purposefully eat pain, thank you very much.

JASON: Spice King. There is almost no food he will not try. Had a high spicy tolerance before he died, after the pit and his world travels, nothing phases him. He loves Alfred's cooking, and it will always be his comfort food, but his palette is way more adventurous. He will only tone his cooking down for Alfred and Barabara. If anyone else wants to eat his food, they can shut up and deal. He doesn't have to feed them.

I don't really have an opinion on Helena. Probably similar to Dick's.

TIM: The biggest wimp to ever wimp. His taste buds are mostly destroyed, so if you feed him spicy food, he won't notice for the first five minutes. Until he realizes his mouth is on fire and is finally distracted from whatever he is working on. The burning will linger for the rest of the day, and he won't talk to the person responsible for a week. He used to gulp water until Steph told him that makes it worse, and he should use milk instead. He figured coffee has enough milk content. Both Damian and Jason have used this against him.

STEPHANIE: Suprisingly impressive. She can nearly match Damian, and no one but Cass can tell she's dying inside towards the end of the hot sauce challenge. She once attempted to eat Jason's spiciest dish while looking him dead on before bailing to the bathroom about six seconds in. Jason never told her it wasn't quite the spicest dish he makes.

CASSANDRA: She doesn't like spicy food and is fully okay with that. Sure, she can tolerate it, but as Barbara said, why would she willingly eat pain? Jason doesn't mind because it is Cass, and she's really chill about it. He'll give her the mild version he makes for Alfred and Babs.

DAMIAN: Obviously, he can handle spicy food, how dare you insult his constitution, plebian. Nothing in the U.S. is going to trip him up, especially nothing in New Jersey, but there are spices he would rather not suffer through, though he will never admit to such a weakness.

KATE: Enjoys spicy food, but European level spicy. She can handle anything found in Italy, no problem, but Indian becomes a problem.

ALFRED: He is English. No, he doesn't like spicy food. He will never like spicy food. This is okay, we still love him.

BRUCE: It is a very good thing he has a nearly perfect poker face because Talia would never have married such a wimp. Feed the white boys (Tim and Bruce), a pepper, and watch Ra's al ghul loose all interest. That's my solution. Cannot handle the slightest spice. The grocery store mild salsa is a danger to him. Will lie to your face about it. Lives in fear of his family discovering this weakness.

Dick Grayson

-          Dick would realize pretty quickly that you were mirroring him and he would find it endearing, though he wouldn’t point it out in the beginning. He thinks its really sweet if you start to copy his way of speaking, his clothes or his habits.

-          He would probably wait until you realize yourself what you’ve been doing, and if you are embarrassed about it Dick would be quick to comfort you and tell you he finds it cute and likes that you do it.

-          On another note, Dick is the kind of partner who keeps stimming toys on him incase you need to use them, and he probably ends up using them himself resulting in you using them more since you’re mirroring him.

 Jason Todd

-          Jason wouldn’t realize you were mirroring him for a long while honestly, he’s so comfortable around you he doesn’t look too deeply into things. I don’t headcanon him as autistic but I honestly think hed start mirroring you too in ways, like how you say stuff or how you hold stuff.

-          You would find wearing his heavy jackets comforting so you just end up wearing his spare jackets or he gets you a jacket of your own. Mirroring Jason probably helps you in your everyday life in Gotham, since you look intimidating if you mirror his expressions and body language.

-          Its only when people start to avoid you two in public that you both realize you both look like pissed off gangsters ready to throw down If needed. He would find it cute so he wouldn’t really say anything about it because he likes it.

 Tim Drake

-          I headcanon Tim is autistic, so you’d both just start mirroring each other without realizing. You both end up repeating the same word back and forth at each other or wearing similar things or eating the same food.

-          Your friends or families have caught you both parroting back and forth many times, or have seen you both sharing clothes or food. Everyone else just finds it endearing even if you and Tim don’t realize what you’ve been doing.

-          The likes of Alfred realize the best way to make you both take care of yourselves is to make one of you do it, because then the other just ends up following without realizing. It made you both have a healthier sleep schedule and diet and you both never figure it out.

 Damian Wayne

-          I also headcanon Damian as autistic, though he has grown up masking so much he doesn’t show it a lot, so he would notice you mirroring him but its because he pays attention to a lot of things around him.

-          Damian becomes very aware of the way he acts because he knows you mirror him even if you don’t realize you’re doing it, so he starts to do stuff that’s good for you, like eating certain things or going to bed early.

-          At some point he would end up mirroring you back as much as he denies it, its because he feels comfortable around you and doesn’t feel the need to mask. So you two are caught copying each other regularly but no one makes any comments about it because they know Damian will start masking again.

Batfamily Cooking Headcanons

I was thinkin about it, so have some Batfamily cooking headcanons. They are as detailed as I could get them and in age order. I also included Steph and Barbara, even though they aren't in the main seven.

Alfred - The family cook and the best cook in the family. He distrusts American processed foods because he knows that many of the more chemical ingedients have been banned in Europe, but he deals (and gets as much food imported from Europe as is practical).

Bruce - Has a very mismatched set of cooking skills. He can sort of cook... on a camping stove or a campfire. He can cook beans and boil water. However, he cannot use an oven, nor a microwave, and his knowledge of spice or baking is nonexistant.

Barbara - Can cook. She knows the basics as she learned growing up, so she didn't have to buy takeout every time her dad was working late. Her dad would've been fine with the takeout, however as she became Batgirl, she became very aware of the nutrition needed for vigilante and decided to learn instead. Admittedly, she fell into using microwaves a bit more as Oracle, especially before her flat was adapted, but once her kitchen was adapted, she was relieved to go back to cooking properly as she hadn't realised how much cooking was a hobby for her until it was blocked by inaccessibility.

Dick - Can cook. He has the basics down, as Alfred forced him to learn how to boil an egg and put something in the oven, and a few learned recipes, some learned from his early childhood. He takes comfort in cooking for other people, especially when it's a recipe he learned because he grew up with it. However, if he's on his own and doesn't have anyone to cook for, he is not cooking. He'd rather have something microwaved or some cereal, and he is the king of nutriotionally balanced cereal.

Jason - Second best cook in the family. He spent a lot of time in the kitchen with Alfred between being adopted and dying and most of that time was learning how to cook creatively. Even if he can't be bothered to cook, there are probably leftovers in his fridge. He had some skills before then from having to cook for his mom, but when he started learning from Alfred he was pleasantly surprised to find he enjoyed the process, so it became more of a hobby than a survival skill.

Cass - Queen of snacks. She can cook, don't get me wrong, because Alfred taught her, but she much prefers snacking throughout the day. She often learns new recipes for more variety in her snacking, because sometimes it's nice to have an onigiri instead of a sandwich or put together a really nice charcuterie board with homemade butter. Her snackboards are usually also great for her to eat while training or dancing because it isn't too much and can sometimes remind her she's human, not a weapon, when she gets in her head.

Steph - Can cook. She knows how to make a healthy and cheap balanced meal, but the most she goes beyond is for sweet treats. For her cooking was a survival skill, especially after her dad was finally in jail. Baking and desserts, on the other hand, she enjoys making. She often bakes for friends, family, and herself, and sometimes learns new recipes to try with Cass. While she was pregnant, especially in the late term, baking simple things like cupcakes was one of the hobbies she still felt like she had the energy to do and helped take her mind off of it, even though she had to sit while stirring.

Tim - Can cook. He knows how to make a healthy balanced meal, he lived alone long enough as a teen to know. However, he cannot go beyond that. Alfred tried to teach him a couple of times in the early days of Robin, but it simply didn't go in and after a few too many faraway looks after he burned something he decided that maybe it was time to stop trying. He, canonically, has the worst taste of the family though, so no one asks him to cook anyway.

Duke - Can cook. His parents taught him basic cooking skills and he enjoys going beyond and playing with spices. He's a bit nervous of joining Alfred in the kitchen as first, but eventually he learns that most of the others have found similar solace in spending time cooking with him, so he starts to join too. He also happens to have a cookbook his parents had stashed in their kitchen, even if they didn't use it while they were still at home, so he sometimes spends time learning the recipes from that.

Damian - Has a very mismatched set of cooking skills. Similarly to his dad, Damian learned a very strange set of cooking skills. He cannot use an oven or a microwave but he can appreciate Alfred's kettle for its practicality in a tea-centric household. He can, however, make a relatively simple meal on a camping stove, beyond what Bruce can make on a camping stove. He does occasionally allow Alfred or one of the other cooking-competant family members to teach him a skill every now and then though.

Steph for the ask game?

three facts about them from my personal headcanons

-The first woman Steph was ever attracted to was Zatanna. She didn't realise this until later on when she was dating Cass and it clicked that it hadn't just been platonic girl crush appreciation

-She did actually die. The body they put in the ground was actually Steph. Due to reality warping from various villains she ended up in Africa with Leslie who admitted that she hadn't actually let Steph die but tried everything and saw her bleed out regardless. They were both highly confused how she was alive again and they never did fully confirm why.

-She has all the autopsy scars and long lasting damage from Black Mask's torture. She used to play the piano but when she came back her fingers didn't stretch the way they used to and the first time she tried it gave her a panic attack.

a reason they suck

They were created and written by Chuck Dixon, which often meant being a part of his shitty conservative propaganda. She was more of a victim than a perpetrator most of the time, but I'd love to have modern Steph reflect on that and be like "Damn that internalized misogyny was kicking my ass sometimes huh."

What if the entire narrative was stacked against you, what if your writers and editors looked down on you for being a teenage girl and treated you as nothing more than a pawn in their shitty sexist manpain stories. And what if you survived and triumphed and became loved enough to carve your own narrative. What if people have come and gone from the "family" that once excluded you maliciously but you're still here and kicking, a core part of it now. They put you in the Robin uniform as a consolation prize before killing you but you're still here and you're clawing your part in that history with everything you've got. For everyone that'll say Damian is the fourth Robin there's someone who'll reply "Actually that was Stephanie Brown."

a reason I relate to them

Being an isolated teenage girl who feels a deep anger at the injustice of the world and doesn't quite have anywhere to fit in or fully vent that anger? I was literally two bad days away from going out on the street to fight crime when I was a teen. I tend to relate to Cass more because the specific mentality and issues she have resonate strongly, but Steph also has plenty of material for me to dig into.

(what I consider to be) the top tier otp/ot3 for that character

Stephcass. It's gotta be stephcass. I could give a million reasons but I've yelled about this so much on my blog already. They bounce off each other so well, they've got the backstory and angst and complex dynamic while also being funny and cute together. The accidental romantic narrative they created is so damn good it barely needs anything to canonize it at this point.

five things that never happened to that character that I believe should have happened

A proper go at being Robin. An apology from Bruce. A discussion with Tim about what they did wrong and an apology too. A long talk with Cass after she came back from the dead with (you guessed it) an apology from Cass. Getting to talk to preboot Jason about what it means to be a sacrificial lamb to give Batman manpain and hype Tim up as the perfect Robin.

five people that character never fell in love with and why

-Dean. Even if she hadn't gotten pregnant it would have never worked out. He was simply too old and for all Steph hates herself she would have realized it eventually

-Detective Gage, for exactly the same reasons as Dean.

-Jason. He died before she came along and by the time he came back it would never cross either of their minds to be anything but purely platonic. They can bond but neither of them appeal to the other romantically.

If she were ever to fall in love with him in an alternate universe and confess he'd be highly alarmed to find out why she thought things were possible between them. It might actually be nice for Steph to get an understanding ear and a shoulder to cry on, someone to tell her that it's not her fault and those men were wrong, but that's all. For one thing Dick is not a scumbag who creeps on young girls and for another thing that's his little brother's ex. In no universe could this ever be more than a one sided crush.

This got a bit long so most of the answer is under the thingy. Both because it's long and because it does talk about sex and stuff, so if you don't wanna see that you don't have to.

I think sensation is definitely a bit funky for Brian, since he has an incomplete spinal cord injury in my headcanon/the 'canon' of Sorry, It's Locked. Stuff like temperature, pain from injuries (not things like nerve pain, pain from spasms and all that totally fun stuff), and light touch don't really register for him but deep pressure he can feel a bit, especially right up near where his injury is. But yeah, he's not feeling a huge deal down there.

I kinda always see Brian as a bit of a service top though anyway, like, yeah, it kinda sucks that he can't feel much when he and Tim have sex, but he's still very happy to just get Tim off. He's a sweet talker and he's good with his tongue, y'know? And he adores doing that.

Theres definitely more variety in their sex life than you might immediately think, tho. Sure if they wanna do P in V sex then yeah, it's a lot of Tim doing the work as Brian doesn't have a huge amount of movement below his injury (though he does have a little bit and is very very slowly regaining more through physio and stuff), but Brian has hands and a mouth, and Tim has toys. And also like, the dick isn't the only place that feels good? Y'know? Like, there are plenty of other erogenous zones that wouldn't have been affected by the fall and the injury he got from it, like his neck or his nipples and stuff like that. And sure, that wouldn't be the same as being able to feel his dick getting touched, but like? Y'know?

Idk people always seem really obsessed with genitals and sex when like, those aren't the only parts of sexuality that matter? Like, sexuality is bigger than just the genitals and just 'normal' sex.

Also like, there's a lot of stuff that goes into how sex and stuff works after a spinal cord injury? Like, yeah there's gonna be changes to like, everything below the level of the injury, but HOW it changes can be different depending on whether it's a complete or incomplete spinal cord injury and stuff like that? Like, with a complete one no signals are getting through the nerves, and with an incomplete one some signals can get through, y'know?

I think Brian's injury is probably around T12, maybe L2 at lowest? (Pretty sure I've got those numbers the right way around) And it's an incomplete injury, hence why he can move his legs a little bit and can stand for a little while as long as he has something to balance against? So he'd have more ability to get and maintain an erection than someone with a complete injury higher up, y'know?

And like... There's external things that can be used to help with erections, like there's medications like Viagra (yeah yeah it's the one everyone knows but still, it's something that can help!) and there's cock rings and pumps and all that, y'know? Still, bladder and bowel stuff would be affected and I do think Brian would self cath and he'd have a bowel program and all that (i don't think he'd have a suprapubic catheter, but maybe?). Sensation would also be affected, duh, that's kinda the thing people think most about when they think about paralysis. So yeah, sex definitely wouldn't be the same for him as it was before his injury, but like, it can still be enjoyable. Like, sexuality can be a lot more than just the act of sex itself, and like, even without a spinal cord injury some people just enjoy the other parts of sexuality more than the actual sex itself.

Also like. It's me writing them. These fuckers are gonna be kinky, and kink doesn't automatically have to involve sex, it can stand on its own and still be incredibly enjoyable. It's just about what each person enjoys about it, sure for a lot of people it is the sex side of it, but it can also be about the taking/letting go of control side of things, it can be about the sensory side of it (like impact or waxplay or tickling etc), it can simply be about being intimate/close/connected with your play partner. (I hope I worded this right and that it does not come across as rude or snarky, I genuinely want to hear your thoughts) So does that mean your interpretation of Bruce is that he is, how do I say it, “indefinitely fucked/flawed”? That there are not many moments where he did goodness for the pure sake of it? Or it’s something like, 90% flawed 10% good?

It actually depends on who writes him, and on the media we're taking into consideration. I know that this might sound contradictory with my previous post, but I honestly don't think there's one interpretation of a character who's 80+ year old and went through the hands of hundreds of writers.

There are a few things that only "happened once" if you understand what I mean, like Cassandra's story. That story has only one iteration, there are no variants to take into consideration or other Batman media that explore it, so we can judge it by what happened that one time, but this is a rarity among the most important Batman stories. Think of UTRH. Bruce is way less ruthless in the animated version and the ending is very different from what happens in the comics.

Bruce did a lot of good things for the pure sake of it, there's no denying that. He's able to offer a helping hand even to the most monstruous, he will help criminals because he genuinely wants them to better themselves. He will get down to his knees to hug and comfort a crying child, he will use his money and resource and do whatever he can to heal his city.

But he will also beat people to the point of crippling them, he will send folks to jail for the most minor of offences, he considers disabled and "mentally challenged" people as a burden for society.

He loves the kids he keeps around and would die for them. But he also hits Dick and will beat him into a pulp when Dick refuses to do his bidding. He suffered for Jason's death and wanted to kill Joker in the heat of the moment, but will also cut Jason's neck and leave him to die again in order to save Joker's life. As protective and sweet as he is with Tim, he used Stephanie to manipulate him into becoming Robin again, acting terribly towards both kids. And I could go on but you get the picture.

All of these things shouldn't coexist but they do because the character is written by different people with different opinions and understanding of right and wrong, of what is an isn't an acceptable behavior for a man and a parental figure to have, and of who the character is and stands for in general.

It might seem that I don't like Bruce all that much and I surely don't like him as a person, but I also love him as a character for what he represents historically, for the nuance of his many depictions. Though I rarely ever defend him when it comes to people criticising his actions, because those actions need to be criticised. And I will hiss at canon stuff that insists on making Bruce always look like the flawless hero because he ain't it, and at people who claim that nonsense takes are canon (like Cass being his favorite) because I have a personal issue with people taking a headcanon that comes from the fact that they didn't read the comics, and shoving it on everyone's face demanding they accept it as "what actually happened".

I’m not big on shipping any of the birds with Bruce, but I do ship Dick, Jay and Tim (together and separate). DamiTim is good too, but shipping Damian with the older two feels like too much of an age gap.

They are not real siblings, they are not blood related. Depending on what comics you read, sometimes they aren’t even legally related (ie: Dick’s whole fight with Bruce is bc Jason is adopted legally but Dick never was. Or in RR Tim gets himself emancipated and is not Bruce’s legal son anymore. Or Jason being legally dead so it doesn’t legally matter anyways who he dates) And like I said, the comics have done so much worse (ie: The Killing Joke, all of it. What would fae!dick and Bruce's relationship be like? Would they fight, woild they be loyal to a fault, would they even separate? Faes do love living in one place after all

Hmmm, well if we go with the option of Dick growing up mostly in the human world being more accustomed to attaching himself to people rather than a place I’d reckon him and Bruce would end up growing quite close.

Of course, the manor becomes Dick’s permanent home and reacts to the presence of an other being rather quickly, but at the core of it? I think Dick would use Bruce and Alfred as his anchor, with Jason and Tim and all the others joining over time.

And loyalty… well, the creatures I grew up with were never divided into good or evil. They were very versatile, much like humans. One could be kind and sweet in one story only to turn monstrous in the next, usually dependent on how they’d been treated by the human of the story. Dick is kind and loyal by nature and I headcanon he only shows his more “monstrous” side when he’s truly irked or feels he’s been wronged in some way (which is… a very subjective thing for fae).

Bruce offered Dick a home and a family, both things that certain type of other creatures value very much and consider sacrosanct. It may not win him over right away, but it goes a long way in building that fundamental trust that’s gonna end with Batman and Robin roaming the streets as a team.

On Bruce’s part… most things he does that are considered “gift giving” and “offers of kinship” are accidental. Because, well, he’s not fae. And he’s new to this child-parent thing and is totally winging it but it??? Seems to work ok???? And he finds that bribing Dick with food and old trinkets makes the boy more approachable, so that’s what he keeps doing until Dick starts coming to him on his own, without additional prompting.

Bruce is super happy because he thinks he’s doing this parenting stuff right and his son ward is warming up to him.

Dick is grudgingly charmed into accepting Bruce and Alfred as “his” humans. (It’s really hard to stay cold and distant with all the good food. And Dick may be fae but he’s been around humans all his life. He gets lonely embarrassingly easy. And he thrives and hugs.)

Sheesh ok getting off topic again. To sum it all up: I think their bond would be pretty strong and not easily broken. There’s mutual trust going on, but Bruce would have to learn to make compromises with Dick very early due to his… otherness. All those strict rules wouldn’t go over well with a fae. at all. Especially not if Dick found out who got his parents killed.

Consequently I think the monumental fallout that ends with Dick moving to Blüdhaven wouldn’t happen. At least not in its original severity. Mostly because Bruce had to get accustomed to Dick having a strong mind of his own years ago, and because he found out that being “rude and downright disrespectful” is an easy way to have a murder of crows with a suspicious number of eyes and wings chase you around for weeks on end. (Not to mention the deer incident. Bruce swears deer should NOT have that many rows of teeth.)

So yeah, they still argue. They still fight. But it’s usually just small spats and gets resolved rather quickly. ✨ and now that Dick’s finally settled down? Yup. Sorry. Dick Grayson

• No matter how much experience people thing Dick has with relationships, he always gets nervous at the thought of you not liking him back the same way or rejecting his feelings. This self doubt is only there because his life always seems out of control, and his relationship with you is the one thing he actually wants to feel stable about.

• From the moment he realised what his feelings were, Dick would be rather bashful and quieter than usual around you. Instead, his words are replaced with stares he can’t hall giving you as he’s so distracted by your presence.

• Once he’s finally built up the confidence and realised it’s about time he asks you out, he’ll find a very subtle but romantic way to do it. Usually he would like to go to somewhere that means a lot to the both of you to do it rather than somewhere fancy, just so you’re both comfortable when it comes to him asking you.

• Dick likes the concept and idea of a traditional type of date, but if you weren’t into that sort of thing he would still make it sweet and wholesome. He’d probably take you on a few dates before things get serious, but this is also because he wants things to be truly serious with you.

• Dick wants someone he can fully confide in when looking for a partner, and short term flings are past him completely once he reaches this point. He needs someone he can fully trust and will always be there for him, and no matter how hurt or damaged he gets will always look after and support him.

Jason Todd

• Jason doesn’t have much experience with asking out someone he likes or even being with someone in a close and intimate way due to his lifestyle and the unfortunate events of his life. So he does approach this rather clumsily once he’s realised his feelings.

• Once he realises his feelings Jason will spend a big chunk of his free time with you, and when you’re both alone together it does feel like a date before either of you have even suggested that idea. He wants you to know that he likes you straight away and needs to test the waters to see if you like him back.

• However, Jason is a hopeless romantic, so if he were to ask you out in a date he would go all out. He’d have flowers ready for you and he’d present himself to the best of his ability in the hopes of you seeing past his toughness and cherishing him for his sweet and intimate sides.

• A first date with Jason would most likely have a movie involved but it doesn’t really matter to him where it is. If the situation is dangerous and you can’t go many places then he’s happy to stay in with you instead.

• Jason would already have a vision of himself being with you far in the future before he’s even asked you on a date va use of how much he needs a committed relationship. If he really likes you then it’s not easy to just cut ties with him in any way.

Tim Drake

• Tim has liked plenty of people in his life but he hasn’t had much experience actually being with them, and certainly less in asking people out on dates. The thought makes him nervous no matter how much he encourages himself, especially when he feels anxious around the person anyways in fear of rejection.

• Once Tim has realised his feelings he may be feeling a bit insecure about them, even though he knows that he would treat you well and definitely much better than most others could. His feelings get to him, and his nervousness makes him feel like he’s letting himself down.

• When he does finally gain the confidence to ask you out he’ll do it in a very traditional way, and would make a great impression after finding out what you like. He’s going to bring the situation up to the point of asking you out, and you showing an interest before he does it would definitely help.

• Tim would probably take you to a restaurant or even have a nice dinner at home, either way he wants the first date to be a proper one. He’s more than happy to accommodate to your liking if you don’t like fancy restaurants, but compromise would be the best option.

• Tim wouldn’t be able to imagine only being with you for a short period of time so he expects the two of you to have a serious relationship that would last a decent amount of time at least. He would feel that a short relationship would be a waste of time when he could have found a much better situation to be in.

Damian Wayne

• Damian has liked people before but he’s pretty much kept it to himself for his own sake and because he doesn’t know how the situation would fit his lifestyle. He doesn’t have experience asking people on dates because of this so it’s difficult for him at first.

• Once Damian realises his feelings he would start acting strange in other peoples opinions and the people close to him may even think something is wrong. He starts to act sentimental and being nicer to you than anyone else, and it doesn’t take others long to realise how he’s feeling for you.

• When Damian finally asks you out it would be quite amusing for you, he’d be awkward and would ask you out almost as if you were two old people because of his lack of knowledge of modern dating. He wants to be reserved and not come across as creeping on you, but Dicks advice just confuses him as to how to behave mostly.

• Damian would find out everything you liked ever since you met him to figure out what the perfect date in your opinion would be. It’s surprising how much he can remember and the date ends up leading to a lot of fun you would never forget.

• Damian wants someone he can truly cherish so a short term relationship wouldn’t be a good situation for him to open up into. If you aren’t going to be there for him in the long term then he doesn’t see a point in trying to have a committed relationship - you both need to want the same things for it to work.
