Hate how in every thread where someone asks for challenge ideas for pz most answers are just 'make it as hard as possible' I dont want to make a run with highest zombie and rarest loot settings, eternal winter, no guns or cars, take all negative traits or whatever! i want a goal other than just 'survive'

the problem isn't that it's too easy to survive, it's that i dont have a point to work towards and then it all feels sort of pointless...

I like challenges like 'get from one end of the map to the other' or 'collect all ingredients + the recipe magazine and make a pizza' collecting all versions of certain items is also fun, as well as giving your character a backstory and goal and rp

i know a lot of people have said it already but it does kinda suck that the only thing you actually gain from recruiting minthara is minthara herself. the obvious way to get her (siding with the goblins) locks you out of three companions (karlach, wyll, halsin), all the tiefling refugee npcs and their associated quests, and a whole quest related to halsin in act 2. and there's nothing to make up for it, you just have less things to experience now

even if you're not doing a necessarily 'evil' playthrough, like i am, and you don't choose sides and moved on to the creche (which i did, because it made sense for my character to want to get there as soon as possible), you still lose most of the same things. functionally, aside from keeping karlach and wyll, you get pretty much the same result as you would personally slaughtering a whole bunch of refugees

About the stalker dante episode, the twins literally say that they planned to stalk him until they find inspiration.

Dude that episode was so fucking weird the writers hate Branch's pussy so fucking much I thought I was imagining the whole thing and then they told BRANCH to apologize like goddamn not even the Snack Pack or POPPY gave a fuck about their friend being stalked 😭

EXACTLY........ like it wasnt even a "they intended dante and the other trolls to just be a little pushy but harmless, and didnt realise that it came off as stalking" situation, they KNEW it was stalking, they ADMITTED it was stalking! and they had poppy give dante the green light, and had randos break into branchs pod, and hes miserable but hes in the wrong? bc hes branch! and branch ALWAYS has to be in the wrong yknow, bc he is the shows vehicle for showing kids what is not proper behaviour. and i KINDA get it, when hes being genuinely antisocial, or doing something that hurts himself! sometimes kids need to learn "doing this hurts the people you care about"! but. so far in trollstopia. the "lessons" branch learns, what the show teaches kids, is that you need to lie down and let people walk all over you, no matter how much it makes you uncomfortable or hurts your feelings

this is partially a critique on my part but even more of a critique on other online leftists' part since i notice a complete lack of attempts at putting oneself in others shoes- it shouldn't quite literally take learning you have x minority ethnicity in you to have sympathy and understanding for them.

comparing TOTK and BOTW is so hard for me because both have two completely different themes and go in different directions world wise. which is really funny because ive had people tell me that totk seems like DLC (most of them being the people who havent been playing the game, go figure). its like BOTW’s isolation, quietness, general atmosphere is HEAVY— the ruins of villages being relatively empty (maybe one or two enemies or npcs, but usually not much more) so that the grief sinks deep in your bones with the piano in the back. whereas TOTK theres so much EVERYWHERE— building aspect alone, theres so much to do with that and so many materials to take advantage of in building or making weapons… i dont like the idea of one being better than the other as they both have two different thoughts they want to make and both (so far, at least— im not done with TOTK’s story) succeed at it.
