Things were not going according to plan. 

Tim really didn’t like it when things didn’t go according to plan.

Sadly, that was the nature of Gotham City, which was exactly why Tim had backup plan after backup plan, accounting for every conceivable variable. He’d written an algorithm just for this case. There was a stack of paperwork heavier than Tim was. 

And yet, somehow, none of that accounted for faulty construction of the barrier along the route Tim expected to chase the criminal along, and just like that all 27 of Tim’s backup plans went out the window, and he and this thug were tearing through the streets of Gotham City. 

Fortunately, Tim had always been quick. Maybe not quite as strong as some of the other bats, but he was balanced in agility, which was useful when it came to jumping over the wooden palettes that had been knocked in his way. 

He’d been chasing this guy for months, the leader of a trafficking ring that made Tim’s stomach turn with each new detail he learned. Finally, Tim had him… nearly. Weeks of careful planning were reduced to instinct, fueled by the base knowledge that whatever happened, he had to catch this guy. Because of that, he wasn’t particularly paying attention to where the man was running, only that Tim needed to catch up to him.

Tim was getting close. His chest burned with it, but he was closing the distance. The leader was about three times Tim’s size, but that made him slow, which Tim used to his advantage. 

One last turn lead them down a long alley with far fewer obstacles to jump over, and Tim took that as his chance. Putting one last burst of energy into moving forward, he could reach out and touch the man before him. So, he did. He leapt forward and used all his momentum to send the both of them tumbling to the ground, pinning the man’s arms behind him. 

“Get off- you little shit,” the criminal squirmed violently, pinned face down as he was. Tim was fully sitting on his back, using his entire body weight to keep him down and frankly unconvinced that was enough. Tim was strong, but he couldn’t hold someone like this forever. “I ain’t getting taken down by some pipsqueak-ass kid. I’ll fucking kill you.”

Tim used his position to secure handcuffs around the man’s wrists, trying to catch his breath. He might’ve secured them a little tighter than necessary, but knowing what this man did Tim frankly didn’t feel bad about it. 

Things hadn’t gone exactly according to plan, but Tim had gotten the criminal in the end. This would just serve as… something to keep in mind for the next time he had to make a plan. Always double check the strength of the barricades along the predicted potential chase route.

Breathless and full of adrenaline, Tim forgot another much more important rule: Always pay attention to where your target is leading you.

I used to not reply bc I thought it was considered rude on ao3! I don't know where I got this idea but I thought you were 'inflating your numbers' so I didn't do it. Now I DO reply which I think makes everyone much happier and I really enjoy interacting with my readers!

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

So. I'm a happy ending person. I write angst with happy endings. However I do have Missat. Which is based off speculation and clues that maybe having babies is hard for asgardians aka miscarriage fic so it's all about loss and there's no magical healing or anything it's just grief

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

That's gotta be Too Sweet. Hellcheer style Scoops Ahoy ad made me write the CUTEST date fic and torture Chrissy in the process and it's just pure spun sugar.

Do you write crossovers?

not unless we're counting crossing comic/mcu canon but I'm not opposed to it! Also my witch!chrissy fic idea borrows from Critical Role which is my next project that I'm planning to start in january....

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

No! I did once get someone come right onto my tumblr post and go 'i don't think eddie would have [x] but otherwise i liked it a lot' and dear tumblrite you can keep that shit to yourself lol.

Yes. Too much arguably. There's far too much smut in WYW but i didn't know how to remove it and eh, no one complained.

I have written in the same universe as a friend but not co written a singular fic. I however have RPed for years so like. basically? I mean there is sooooo much rp on my sif blog lol.

What's your all-time favourite ship?

based on my output it's Hellcheer. No one else has taken over my brain this way. I do however also have to say Thorsif. They are my eternal loves.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

jokes on you I don't post WIPs. I do have a DND au in my docs that i really like the idea of but once i got into it i'm not sure if it's working. so probably that. I also worry about ever finishing my season 4 rewrite. that's a matter of picking it and writing it, but I plan to get a new job and ANY new job will mean less writing time.

What are your writing strengths?

dialogue, and I think I'm very good at writing convincing emotional arcs!

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I think it depends heavily on purpose and canon. If you need your readers to understand the other language than you have to have a way of translation, which can be difficult if you're doing anything longer than a word or two that the fandom might already know by osmosis. I haven't had to deal with multiple languages in fics much, thankfully, so I don't know all the options.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

What's your favourite fic you've written?

This is hard because there's a lot of variation in my fic writing but I think it has to go to How Not to Drown which, while the pacing is a little funky, is pure teen drama in your veins and is a story that means a lot to me.

What inspired you to make this blog?

So...long story short, my sister and I used to write together a lot on Tumblr. I got locked out of my old account, so I haven't rped in probably five years. She asked me if I could make a new blog for us to write again...and eventually, I gave in!

But, if you're asking why make a Hiccup blog...I've been slightly HTTYD obsessed since March. Hiccup has always been my favorite character in the franchise, and he seemed like the obvious choice.

It's been super helpful though, because I've been needing a good, creative outlet since my job has no creativity.

Needless to say, I'm really, really glad I made this. It's been so much fun!

OOC: Hey, so a year ago today I started this blog (well, a year and a day, ignore that I'm a day late) and I just wanted to say thank you for all of the support.

When I started this blog I never expected anyone to care. I had no plans, I had nobody to interact with, and no experience rping on tumblr. Songbird was what originally inspired me, and Gladi and Onyx who encouraged me to give this shit a shot. I would not have even tried without their support. They're honestly the reason this blog even exists.

Actually the last time I rped with anyone was warrior cats on Minecraft when I was fucking nine lmao. But despite that this blog has turned into a much bigger thing! People write poetry, all the fucking incredible fanart that's made, web weaves, posts, etc... it means a lot to me that what I create here also inspires other people to create. To all the people who've made something for casinoroyale, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. It means the world to me. And to all the people who haven't, who send anons and lurk and like and casually read or pop in occasionally, thank you for tuning it. I appreciate all of you so so much. :')

In this last year I've also met some of my closest friends and I feel really lucky to be able to write alongside such insanely talented people. It's kind of like a dream lol. Without them this blog would be nothing at all. My friends always support me. Always. With absolutely anything. I'm really fucking grateful to have found an amazing group. Prior to starting this blog I genuinely thought I'd never share any of my writing again, but my friends give me the confidence to do that. I've improved a lot over the last year alongside everyone. 18. how did you come across the roleplay community?

here on tumblr was purely accidental. i was really into anime at the time and into the Kuroshitsuji fandom to be exact. At the time there were really tons of "asks blogs" for characters, and they looked so fun so I decided to make my own since i already had rped on myspace and LiveJournal and was kind of missing that whole thing. I don't remember for which character, probably Grell from the same fandom i mentioned, and from there one thing led to the next, and here we are now!

20. what age range do you most enjoy playing?

this is one that has been changing over the years, but for most of the years i have been rping i have written characters that are from the age range of 19-23... but then i started writing nandor, a dude that is physically in his late 40s, and honestly? it's so fun, that i can't see myself writing anyone younger than 35+ at this point .... unless it's my OC, but i came up with her around a decade ago at this point.

26. what faceclaim do you wish you could play, and why haven't you used them/yet?

Akın Akınözü. The only reason why I haven't used him, it's because at the moment I have like 0 ideas for a new character, but if something ever pops up in my mind, he's the one I'll use. I just like underused FCs, tbh... and I also think the man is neat, but that's a whole different story XD

In general, OCs that I created on the Pokemon forums I used to be on when I was 12-13 haha. On Tumblr, I tried to make a Zootopia RP blog in 2016 but that failed miserably and I deleted it a week after making it since I had no idea how to RP on this site since I was new and I hadn't actually RPed for years at the time.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure right now...this is the only site I RP on so I don't know what other trends I would want that I haven't already seen.
