something that has really bothered me the past couple weeks is that i feel like some people are completely ignoring boycotts, like the one against the big4 and starship that has been going since the beginning of april, but then are cherry-picking reasons to boycott certain releases. like people who are boycotting the new skz single because of charlie puth’s involvement but were ignoring the fact that jype was part of the ongoing boycott in the first place

It was incredibly difficult for Ari to pretend that her love for Seventeen didn’t burn with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns now that she had offered up a birthday meal. She could only deny her interest for so long, her feeble excuse of saying she’d overheard their conversation the other night falling on deaf ears. There were too many knowing grins now, too many curious eyes that seemed to look at her in a new light. She tried to steel herself with each and every gaze, fervently sticking to her story.
“Do you know how bad my memory is?” she muttered after Seungkwan’s teasing remarks. “I could never remember all your birthdays. I already told you, I overhead you.”
“So you were eavesdropping?” he smiled, raising his brows.
She prickled. “I was bringing you supplies! You all talk so loud I could hear you outside the door!” She harrumphed, spooning soup into her pouting mouth. She wasn’t exactly partial to the soup, never having had it before, but she wasn’t about to waste what she’d worked so hard on, least of all waste her precious beef.
“Ah, you don’t have to be embarrassed!”
“Yah, but if you really are a Carat, why’d you lie?” Chan pouted.
Ari’s hand twitched. “I am not,” she insisted weakly.
“Carrot?” Halbi barked. “What kinda nonsense is that?”
“Carat is the name of our fans,” Joshua explained to Halbi. “And I’m sure Ari-ssi had her reasons for keeping it from us.” Although it was in response to Chan, he directed himself toward Ari, offering a warm smile.
“I think you were nervous,” Jeonghan smirked, head resting on a palm cockily. “Our dear Carat seeing her favorite idols on her doorstep.”
Ari scoffed, turning to stare at him insolently. “As if you could make me nervous.”
“I’ll try my best, if that’s an invitation.”
Ba-bump.
She was so flustered by the unexpected statement that her scandalized words slipped out before she could stop them. “Y-yoon Jeonghan!”
His grin was as immediate as it was shit-eating, and Ari realized her mistake. “You seem awfully familiar for someone who wasn’t a fan.” The tip of his chopsticks rested on his lips as he continued to grin teasingly. “Using my full name. Who do you think you are?”
“Oh, that’s right!” Seokmin jumped in. “You wouldn’t know his full name if you weren’t a fan of us!” He laughed. “Aw, you really were a Carat!”
Little shit… she thought irritably, glaring at Jeonghan. He seemed utterly unconcerned, continuing to stare back at her with mirth in his eyes.
“Who was your favorite member?” Mingyu asked.
“What was your favorite song?” Hoshi piggybacked.
“Tell the truth - which unit was the best?” Seungkwan joked.
“How long have you been a fan?”
Ari pursed her lips tightly, determined to hold her ground, but it was a gentle hand on her should that made her relax. “Don’t mind them,” Seungcheol said gently. “You don’t have to answer. It’s just, well, we obviously haven’t seen a fan for a long time. We’re all just…happy.” The way he smiled made Ari’s heart squeeze. “But don’t let them pressure you.”
“Ah, Gongjunim, what’s the harm in tellin’ ‘em?” Halbi gestured vaguely. “Your jig’s up anyhow.”
Ari sighed heavily. “I’m not telling you my favorite member, my favorite song was “Run to You,” and I’ve been a fan for…quite a long time.” She cleared her throat and lowered her eyes. “Now will you please shut up and eat?”
- - -
Ari quietly gathered the dishes as the boys talked animatedly.
Halbi had taken it upon himself to give them the day off, given that it was Mingyu’s birthday. They should relax and enjoy themselves, he said. Much to everyone’s surprise, Ari hadn’t said a word against it. She agreed, even. After all, birthdays are important, especially in times like these. They really were something to celebrate.
“Let me help you.” It was Jun who wandered up behind her quietly, gesturing toward the dishes.
“No, it’s okay.” She shook her head. “Go relax with the others.”
He stared at her silently for a moment. “You should relax, too. You got up early to cook for us.” His voice was warm. Distracting, she thought.
“You’ve all cooked for me the last few mornings,” she returned, clearing her throat. She turned back to the dishes. “Really, go sit.”
She thought that was the end of it after another moment of silence until she felt Jun move behind her, so close she could feel his shirt brush up against her back. “Noona, let me help. Please?” His voice was low as it echoed from above her ears, and he reached forward, gently taking the bowl from her hand.
Her eyes shot wide open, her brain short circuiting. Noona? Before she could process it any further, he gently moved her aside, taking up the task of loading the dishes. “A quick wash on the hottest setting, right?” he asked, a soft smile on his face. She nodded dumbly in response and Jun went back to the dishes. He didn’t look at her when he spoke next. “We have to shock you.”
She blinked and tried to put her brain back together. “What?”
“So you don’t argue,” he said, laughing to himself. “We have to shock you. Jeonghan-hyung did it, too.”
Her face flared up immediately, and she stumbled over her words. “Shock - what - but…I don’t argue.”
“You’re arguing now,” he returned.
She gaped, opening and closing her mouth as she struggled to find a clever response. When she came up empty, she pouted. “J-just do the dishes.” She walked away, pointedly ignoring the fact that he was laughing at her again.
She hovered around the dining room for a moment, idly wiping the table and listening as conversation lulled, slowly moving toward topics of the past. How they used to go out for a nice dinner on birthdays, drinks, karaoke, just getting together and enjoying each other’s company, maybe a small game of whatever sport they could with whatever equipment they had available.
Will they be bored, stuck in the house all day? She frowned, slowly moving away toward the laundry room, where she tossed the dirty rag. She debated for a moment, tapping her fingers against the counter.
It had already been five days since they arrived. Two more, and - theoretically - they should be moving on. It was for the best, wasn’t it? She glanced at a laundry basket, full to the brim of their dirty clothes from yesterday. When the days were over, she’d fold them up neatly, pass them along to the boys; they should keep a spare change of clothes at the very least, shouldn’t they?
Or, the small nagging voice in the back of her mind argued, they could stay here. “But where would they sleep?” she murmured to herself. “Packed in like sardines on mats on the floor…”
But there was also another room, a room she could clear out to make some additional space. She frowned at the thought.
“And the food…” she murmured again.
But what about the food? They had plenty. Too much, even. So much it was nearly going to waste. And they could help with the farm, to harvest more and compensate for the additional mouths.
“No,” she muttered angrily, pushing away from the counter. “Even if I can rationalize everything else, they can’t stay.” If they ever find out about me, she thought sadly, they’ll never understand…
- - -
“Halbi, I’m going out for a bit,” Ari called quickly.
“Where are you goin’ all of a sudden?” He called from his place on the couch, craning his neck to watch as she walked quickly through the foyer.
“Out!”
Ari stole out the door quickly. She began walking idly, enjoying the sunshine and taking in the fresh air. With each day that passed, the temperature grew warmer. Soon, summer would be in full swing. The farm would be thriving, and Halbi would be busy harvesting and planting; she would be busy storing, freezing, processing. It would be the first time they experienced summer by themselves, after Ahjussi’s passing a few months ago.
“We can do it, can’t we?” she said to herself. “It’ll…be fine.”
She tried to shut her brain off as she continued on, reaching the community center quickly. A flurry of dust fell from the doorframe as she shoved the door open, and she coughed and sputtered as it flew into her face. “Really gotta get down here and dust more often…”
- - -
Vernon made his way quickly down the dirt path, toward the hanok in the distance. Haraboji had said that was likely where Ari was heading.
Why had she run off all of a sudden? He thought after breakfast, things were a bit better. She’d finally admitted that she’d been a fan, so he thought maybe they’d had the opportunity to get a little closer, but as soon as Jun took over the dishes, she wandered away for a several minutes before rushing out with hardly a word. Surely she can’t be that upset. She can’t think we’re mad at her for being a fan, can she?
In truth, they were all really happy, just like Seungcheol said. For them to run into survivors, for the survivors to be so willing to help them, and one of them is one of their Carats? Of course they were happy. Hearing the word after so long made him feel warm, like a little bit of his old life was back. Even through all this, there was still at least one person in the world who remembered them like that.
He was ripped from his thoughts suddenly when he heard a series of short screams come from the community center, followed by a cacophony of noise. Eyes wide, he moved more quickly. “Ari!” When he didn’t hear anything in return, he started at a full run, tearing across the farm as fast as he could. “Ari!”
Skidding to a halt in front of the community center door, he called again, easing into the building with tense shoulders. “Are you okay?”
From somewhere in the corner, he heard her groan. “I’m okay…I’m fine.”
“Nothing’s here, right?” he asked sternly, searching for anything to use as a weapon.
“No, there’s nothing here!” she snapped. “Unless you count a clumsy moron!” There was a clatter. “Dammit,” she hissed.
Vernon maneuvered carefully through the stacks of old junk in the building: old electronics, broken farm equipment, empty boxes and the like. Haraboji hadn’t taken them inside the building, but he’d mentioned that there wasn’t much use for it after most of the others had passed away and that it was mostly used for storage now.
When he finally reached Ari, he found her sprawled face down on the ground among several - now very broken - electronics, her foot seemingly tangled in some sort of net. “Jesus,” he muttered, immediately kneeling down and trying to remove the debris. “What happened?” He pushed away a large scrap of hard plastic, which seemed to belong to an old karaoke machine, if the microphone attached was any indication. Beside her, too, was a large, cracked television. It had fallen to her side, the glass thankfully shattering to her left instead of right on top of her. He scooted it as far away as he could before she turned over irritably, supporting herself on an elbow and cradling her other hand.
“Dammit,” she hissed away, trying to shake the net from her foot.
“Oh, here.” Vernon reached forward immediately, untangling the net from around her foot and ankle. “Are you okay? How did you manage all this?”
She huffed. “I tripped on some stupid fucking bottle or something that was on the floor. I rolled my whole fucking foot and I was carrying the net so I tripped on it when I started stumbling, and I tried to grab onto something to stop myself from falling and apparently I grabbed onto the start of a whole fucking avalanche!” She said it all in one angry breath, and Vernon had to bite his lip to start from laughing. He’d never seen her quite so expressive.
“Wait, rolled your foot?”
She sniffed. “It’s fine. It just…stings a little.”
“What about your hand?” He nodded toward the one she was favoring against her chest.
As if she hadn’t realized it until now, she straightened her arm immediately. “It’s…fine. I think I just came down on it weird.”
“Can you stand up?” He backed off, standing and offering her a hand.
She pushed forward and took it hesitantly, and Vernon could tell immediately that something was wrong. He watched as she grit her teeth, barely able to put weight on her foot. He pulled her full weight up, until she was swaying on the spot, ankle hovering just over the floor.
“It’s fine,” she ground out, taking a single, limp step forward before her leg nearly collapsed under the weight. “Shit!”
Vernon’s eyes widened as he reached out, catching her quickly before she toppled back over. “Yeah,” he said, nodding, “looks totally fine.”
“Shut up! I’m telling you, it’s fine! I can—” She tried to take another step forward, hands still twisted in the fabric of his shirt, but her ankle couldn’t hold her, and this time, she cried out in pain. Vernon held her fast, one hand holding her arm and the other firmly around her waist.
“Shit,” he muttered. “You don’t think you broke it, do you?”
“No,” she ground out, eyes squeezed shut. “It cannot be broken. I’m sure it’s just a sprain.”
They were quiet for a moment as Ari breathed heavily through her nose. Vernon took a moment to look at her. Despite what she said, the corners of her eyes were wet, and her hands were gripping him tightly, fingers twisted in his shirt so tightly she was nearly pulling it down his shoulder.
“Come on,” he said quietly, “we need to get you back to the house.”
“You go,” she responded immediately. “I’ll get by.”
“Bullshit,” he returned easily. “What are you gonna’ do? Crawl back?”
“If I have to!” She opened her eyes to shoot him a glare.
His mouth twitched in a frown. “Ari, come on. Seriously?” Speaking English for the first time in who knows how long felt strange, but he couldn’t help but slip back into his native tongue to convey his frustration.
She made a surprised noise in the back of her throat, mouth slightly open as she struggled to find a retort.
“What?” he asked.
She shook her head slowly. “Nothing,” she responded in a whisper. Her voice in English sounded different, somewhat lower. Vernon was surprised to find he liked it, and he blinked when she actually offered him a small smile. “I just…forgot you could do that.”
“What?” he laughed. “Speak English?”
“Yeah,” she gave a breathless laugh in return. “I’ve just…been speaking Korean for so long with Halbi, I almost forgot…what it was like.”
Silence stretched between them again, the only sound the background of nature outside.
“What were you doing in here, anyway?” he asked at length. “What was the net for?”
“Ah,” she vocalized shortly, looking around toward the net which lay tangled on the floor. “Yeah, about that. I was just - I mean I just figured - because maybe you’d be bored - and since it was his birthday, maybe he’d want to do more than sit in the house and - I don’t know, I just thought maybe he’d like to get outside for something that didn’t involve working so I thought maybe I’d get out this stupid volleyball thing.” She cleared her throat as she continued to ramble. “I bought it when the house was finished cause I had all these big plans to try and have like, parties and stuff, but it turns out you need like, friends and stuff to have big parties and cookouts and whatever, and I don’t like sports so I never used it, and then the world went to shit and we just stored it in here, but I thought maybe you all would like to play, so I came down here looking for it. The poles are over here, and I was going to try and unbury them and bring everything back up to the house and—”
“Ari.”
“Yeah, sorry.” Her voice pitched high. “I just thought…it might be something fun you all could do for his birthday. Together.”
She hung her head, refusing to look at him. Vernon smiled, resisting the urge to squeeze her waist or pull her in for a hug. “I knew you liked us.”
“Shut up,” she whispered again.
He chuckled again, slowly releasing her. “Here.” He turned, bending down on one knee.
“…What are you doing?”
“You can’t walk back to the house. I’ll carry you.”
“No,” she responded immediately.
“Yes.”
“Fuck off, you can’t carry me.”
Vernon snorted. “You act a lot different in English.”
“I don’t know the colloquial curse words in Korean,” she snarked.
“Come on, just get on. I’ll take you back up to the house and the others can come get the net and stuff.”
“No.”
“Why?”
“I’m…heavy…”
Vernon sighed, standing and turning back to face her. She stared at him defiantly, mouth twisted.
“…You can trust us, you know,” he said quietly. “I know why you don’t; I get it, but we’re really not interested in hurting anyone. We’re just trying to get by, just like you.” He watched Ari’s face soften, her defiant gaze turning sad. “You can let your guard down, even if it’s just a little bit. I promise, we’ll show you, we’re still…good people.”

Watching Wonwoo play Zelda was not what you had expected when he had texted earlier asking you to come over. “Just let me finish this level and I swear I’ll go down on you all night.” He whispered against your lips in a half kiss when you walked in through his front door.
That had been over an hour and three completed levels ago. It was an empty promise long forgotten as he kept himself immersed in the game, talking enthusiastically about his day and random things his brain would conjure up on the spot. It was like you didn’t exist, and for the most part to his viewers, you didn’t. It wasn’t like you were his girlfriend or anything. Even if you were, you valued your privacy more than anything in the world. You preferred to work on your own things in the background away from his camera whenever you were over. This was something the two of you had mutually agreed to.
Casual hangs and casual sex.
Lately, your relationship had become the product of most of your stress. You never knew where you stood with Wonwoo. Sometimes he would literally invite you over to keep him company while he streamed only to kick you out the second he finished. “I’m too tired, you should go.” He would say pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, I’ll see you later.”
Of course, those moments were overshadowed by the soft touches he left imprinted on your skin. By the sweetness of the words he shared with you and only you whenever he wasn’t working. It made you want more. More of him, more of his attention, and more of whatever was going on between the two of you. But that was something you refused to bring up afraid that the only one harboring feelings for the other was you.
Heartbreak was not in your plans for life, at least not for a while.
You sighed, throwing your phone down onto the couch. Your patience was wearing thin. Maybe it had to do with the fact you were already having a bad day, and Wonwoo’s indifference towards you wasn’t helping. When you had gotten his text earlier, you couldn’t help but feel all giddy inside. The two of you hadn’t seen each other in a few days with work schedules being all over the place and not aligning. It was something to look forward to, not necessarily because of the sex--which was always amazing. But you really just wanted to talk to him. Lay down with his arms wrapped around you while you complained about work and how frustrating your coworkers were being.
By the looks of it, you weren’t going to get any of that, not even what he had promised when you had first walked in. You were tired, your clothes were starting to annoy and you wanted to cry. If it wasn’t for the fact that his front door was in line with his camera, you would’ve left already.
Wonwoo could sense something was wrong with you. Every time you sighed it felt like you were punching him in the gut. He really meant what he had said when you walked in earlier. He also meant the quiet I love you he mumbled underneath his breath when you walked past him and into the living room. He wasn’t sure when he had fallen in love with you, just that months ago he had woken up and you were the only thing he could think of. Every time he held you in his arms the three little words bubbled up in the back of his throat, wishing he could bring himself to finally say it, but his fear held him back. Afraid that you didn’t feel the same way.
“Alright, you know what I think that’s enough for tonight.” Wonwoo smiled into the camera, trying to keep up with the chat as they begged him not to go yet. “I have to go, my girlfriend is over and I want to spend time with her. Anyway, same time next week Monday guys.” Wonwoo nodded, stopping the stream. Once he was positive that he had turned everything off he felt his shoulders relax and leaned back in his chair. He closed his eyes for a second before opening them again, the panic surging through his veins was unbearable. He turned around in his chair meeting your equally shocked face.
He royally fucked up. He just confessed to his audience without meaning to confess. He had told his audience that you were his girlfriend and he hadn’t even asked you yet. The surprise and speech he had worked on all week, the reason he took a break from streaming until tonight, was for nothing. He had gotten ahead of himself and he didn’t know what to do now. Or how to fix it.
“G-Girlfriend? Wait you have a fucking girlfriend?” You stood up from his couch, blinded by anger. “What the fuck Wonwoo, when were you going to tell me? Before or after you fucked me?” You shouted, your heart was beating fast as you turned around to gather up your stuff.
Unbelievable. Here you were distracted, thinking about how cute he looked while he blamed his failure on his character. The pout that had formed on his lips as he pushed his glasses up his nose and blew out a raspberry, moving aside the strands of his newly dyed blonde hair. The frustration you had felt earlier, forgotten, replaced with admiration. Only for it to come back after what he had said, this time fiery red and ready to burn everything it touched.
“Stop, no wait, I don’t have a girlfriend. At least not yet.” He spoke fast, his words blending with one another as he quickly made his way to you. He grabbed hold of your laptop and held it against his chest.
“Is that supposed to make me feel better, did you just call me down to ignore me and then fuck me one last time before you called it quits!” You said in disbelief reaching over for your laptop.
Wonwoo turned around facing away from you. “No that’s not...that’s not what...fuck, calm down please and just let me talk.” He pleaded as he sat down on his couch, your laptop still clutched tightly in his arms. It was your prized possession, it held the first three drafts of the novel you were working on. He knew you well enough to know that you hadn’t backed anything up no matter how many times he told you to do so. So, he was positive that as long as he held onto it like his life depended on it (because it did) you wouldn’t leave without it.
You crossed your arms in front of you ”I am calm, but I don’t know if I want to listen to what you have to say.”
Wonwoo cringed, he was more nervous than what he had intended to be. He had an entire speech planned. Wrote it down, even got Jihoon to proofread it. He had performed it in front of his bathroom mirror every morning and night. He thought he had it in the bag, pumped up his chest a few times before opening his front door to you earlier. Yet, the second he saw you, he forgot everything he had planned to say. This is mainly why he had spent such a long time streaming. Hoping that the distraction would somehow help him remember.
It didn’t.
“Wonwoo, I swear if you don’t start talking in the next five seconds I’m leaving and suing you for holding my laptop hostage.”
Wonwoo sighed and slapped his forehead lightly before turning to look at you, “okay, I don’t think that’s allowed bu-”
“It is if I say that you stole it trying to steal my work, I don’t know I’ll find a way.” You shrugged, earning a glare from Wonwoo. You knew he hated whenever someone interrupted him while he was in the middle of saying something. It was something you would do to him out of spite, but in your humble opinion this time he really did deserve it. Though, it didn’t make you feel as good as you had hoped, “fine sorry, you can continue.” You sighed and sat down on his coffee table.
Wonwoo put your laptop down and leaned over his elbows taking your hands in his. “I love you and I want you to be my girlfriend. I know we agreed to just keep this casual but I can’t help the way my heart literally feels like it’s going to fall out of my ass whenever I’m with you. So yeah, I don’t have a girlfriend yet, because I haven’t asked you to be my girlfriend yet. But there’s no one else, only you, and I’m so-”
Wonwoo was cut off when he felt your body land on his, knocking the air out of his lungs. You hugged him, straddling his hips and burying your face into his chest, giggling. It felt like a weight had been lifted from your shoulders and you felt awful for assuming the worst and jumping to conclusions.
“Ask me ask me ask me ask me.” You bounced on his lap like a child. He groaned doubling over in pain.
He placed his hands on your hips to keep you from moving, “No now I know you’re actually trying to kill me.” He smirked and left a sweet kiss against your lips. A low chuckle running past his lips as he took in your pouting face, “fine, my love, my baby will you please be my girlfriend?” He cocked his head, his hands playing with the hem of your t-shirt.
“Yes, but only if you give me my laptop back and keep the promise you made me earlier.” You smiled innocently, playing with the hair on the back of his neck.
Wonwoo smirked, his hands made their way underneath your shirt. “No to the laptop, you work too much and I’m determined to back up everything on a hard drive later.” He rubbed his thumbs over the skin of your hips, slowly inching closer to the button of your jeans, “not sure I remember the promise I made earlier though, can you remind me?”
You kissed him slowly, tugging on his shirt, “you said you would finish a level before going down on me all night, and it’s four and a half levels later and I’m still waiting.” You whispered against his lips, before pulling away and bringing his shirt over his head, taking it off, throwing it behind him, aiming for the laundry basket, missing it completely, making you sigh.
“Well you didn’t give me enough time to answer, but that can be arranged.” He pecked your lips, pushing your shirt up and over your head, throwing it behind him. “You’d have to step into my office though.”
“Wonwoo, baby, don’t ever call your room your office.” You rolled your eyes and got up from his lap.
He chuckled, shaking his head and stood up, “oh no that’s not what I meant, room comes later. Tonight we start in my office.” He says cheekily, pointing his thumb towards his gaming setup. Your eyes grew wide as saucers, only making him laugh harder while he pushed you towards his gaming chair.
“Wait, you’re like not going to turn the camera on are you?” You said as he pushed you down to sit in which you obeyed. The colorful lights from his gaming setup kept you distracted as Wonwoo got down on his knees in front of you.
“Nope, I’ve just always wanted to eat you out while you sat on my gaming chair. But maybe one day in the future if you want. You can take over my stream and play animal crossing while I secretly eat you out on camera.” He smirked, the evil glint behind his soft eyes sent shivers down your spine. The little exibitionist in him coming out. You’d be lying if you didn’t find the thought of it exciting.
“One day.” You breathed, lifting your hips, helping him as he pulled down your pants.
Wonwoo sent you a wink pushing your thighs apart with his hands, “We can also play overwatch together. That cute little vibrator you keep hidden in your bedside drawer, stuffed inside your pussy.” He placed his index finger over the wet patch that had formed over your panties, pushing in slightly. “And everytime you die I up the speed, see how long you can last before you have me begging to turn off the stream so you can cum.” Wonwoo kept pushing his finger in you, your panties sticking onto you like second skin.
You threw your head back, digging your nails into the arms of his leather chair. “F-Fuck how long h-have you thought about this?” You lifted your hips as he added another finger.
“Right now, or maybe a few times when you’re not around.” He leaned down kissing your mound lightly, “but seeing you like this, sprawled out, wet and waiting for my mouth is reinforcing those fantasies.” He worked his fingers diligently, pushing the thin material of your panties inside of you. He couldn’t wait to stuff you full with his cock later.
You let out a whimper as his mouth traveled down to your clothed entrance. He removed his fingers licking up a stride, before taking one of your lips into his mouth and biting down on it gently. “W-Wonwoo please I want to feel your mouth.”
“You are, aren’t you?.” He looked, staring at you through the rim of his round glasses before repeating his actions again making you whimper. “Take your bra off, play with yourself for me.” He left a chaste kiss in your inner thigh and sat back on his heels. He palmed himself over his black tracksuit pants as he watched you slowly unclasp your bra, letting the straps slide down your arms. You were teasing him, he knew this but he didn’t care. Seeing you get undressed for him was one of his favorite past times, especially because you always went extra slow for him.
You threw your bra, not caring where it landed. You rolled your palms over your nipples, soft sighs running past your lips as you kept your eyes trained on Wonwoo. “Want to feel your hot tongue fucking me Woo.” You spread your legs even further pinching your nipples. You moved your hand down your body, your index finger playing with the seam of your panties. “Is this one of your fantasies? Me touching myself, sitting here?” You said, tilting your head to the side, moving your hand into your panties and running your index and middle fingers over your clit slowly.
“Yes.” He hissed, pushing his hand into his boxers grabbing onto his cock. “God, you make me so hard.”
“Let me see please.” You arched your back, your fingers getting faster. Wonwoo nodded, wasting no time to free himself, his hand wrapped tightly around his length. His index finger connects with the small bead of precum that had formed, showing you how sticky and ready he was for you.
“Want to taste?” You nodded letting out soft moans as you lifted your hips, into the palm of your hand, sticking your tongue out for him. “Fuck.” He cursed getting up on his knees, bringing his index finger up to your mouth. You closed your lips around it, swirling your tongue over the tip, savoring the salty substance.
You pulled away with a pop, taking your fingers out of your panties and bringing them up to his lips. He took them in, moaning around them. “Do I taste good?” You said taking out your fingers from his mouth, moving them over his lips, wetting them further.
“I’m going to have to take a closer look.” He said lowly, pushing your panties down in a haste. He spread your legs, licking up your slit, teasing your hole with his tongue. Being in between your legs was his second most favorite pastime. He savored every moment of it. Sometimes he would prolong your orgasm, keeping you on edge, so that when you came, your sweet substance would coat his lips, spilling down his chin and neck. It was the most beautiful site, one that only he had the privilege in witnessing.
“Mmm, your tongue feels so good Wonwoo.” You pinched your nipple while tugging on the roots of his blonde hair, pushing his mouth closer.
He moaned, slurping up your juices like you were his last meal. He wrapped his mouth around your clit, pulling it between his teeth before letting it go. “I want to be here forever but I don’t think I can last any longer without being inside of you.” He pushed two of his fingers inside of you. The feeling of your wet walls wrapped around his thick calloused fingers made his cock twitch.
“B-But I-I want to cum.” You pouted, arching your back away from his chair, pushing your hips further into his hand. “Please, I’m so close already.” You pant, the knot in the pit of your stomach threatening to break.
“Oh honey, you will. I’ll have you coming undone more than three times tonight.” He stated with determination and brought his mouth down again, closing his lips around your clit. He sucked harshly moaning sinfully. He fucked you faster with his fingers curling them upwards, reaching the soft mushy skin inside of you.
“W-Wonwoo f-fuck don’t stop I-I’m so close.”
Wonwoo let go of your swollen bud, slowing down his fingers as you clenched around them. “Look at me, I want to watch me while you cum.” You agreed with a pleasure filled sigh, watching as he pushed back his glasses. The sight almost had you coming undone.
He put his mouth on you again, increasing the pace of his fingers. Babbles coming out of your mouth as you pulled on his hair, motivating him to go faster. The squelching sounds coming from your wet, hot pussy sounded like music to his ears. He bit down on your clit lightly, sending you over the edge, your cum coating his fingers, while you moaned his name in a sweet sinful prayer. His eyes burning holes into yours, the sight was award winning, his cock begging to be milked out.
Wonwoo continued, riding out your orgasm. Until you felt the oversensitivity overcome your body “W-Woo, s-stop please.” You pushed his head carefully with the palm of your hand.
He kissed the inside of both of your thighs before sitting up on his knees, taking your face into his hands. “You always look so pretty when you cum.” He pecked your lips repeatedly, before wrapping your arms around you hugging you tightly. “I love you so much.” He kissed your temple.
“Why do you always get so mushy every time you make me cum?” You laughed gently, running your fingers down his back, making him shiver.
“You bring out in me, I can’t help it, stop complaining. I’m giving you time to recover before I bend you over my desk.”
“Not complaining. I love it.” You kissed his cheek. “And I love you.” You whispered in his ear, taking his earlobe, pulling it between your teeth.. He groaned, swallowing hard, his getting tighter around you.
“My desk, then my couch, then my bed, then the shower, and then my bed again.”
Tumblr media
The sun had started to rise. It was five in the morning and your body was suddenly overcome with sleep, when Wonwoo pulled out of you one last time. He had kept true to his promise, literally fucked you the entire night, christening his apartment, except his kitchen. “If we have sex in the kitchen, the only thing I’ll be thinking about while I’m cooking is your mouth around my dick.” He said as he pushed you into the wide window of his living room, making you laugh.
“Do you have to work today?” He placed a delicate kiss against your collar bone, laying his head on top of your chest.
“It’s Saturday, why would I have work on Saturday?” You smiled sleepily, running your fingers through his hair. He sighed happily, pulling his sheets over the two of you and cuddling into you further.
“You’re always working, I just wanted to ask.” He shrugged, raising his body enough to leave a chaste kiss against your lips. “Take a break today and I promise that by the time you wake up again I’ll have all of your files backed up into the harddrive I bought you.”
You shook your head, placing both of your palms against his cheeks, squishing them. “Do you know how sexy you sound when you talk about computers.”
“Nope, but you once told me to divide you in half when I was explaining finances to you. Now that I think about it, that statement can go both ways.” He smiled laying down on his back, bringing you along with him. Your eyes growing wide when you felt it running down your thighs. You sat up in panic, removing the sheets of your body to see if your silent hypothesis was correct.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, confused.
“Wonwoo, fuck...did we use protection?”
Wonwoo pushed the covers away with his feet, sitting up quickly. He looked between your legs, his eyebrows furrowing in concern, “You’re on the pill still right?”
“We changed my formula, I had to stop taking it for a few days.” You threw yourself down on his bed covering your eyes with your hands. The tears pooling against your eyes. You felt the bed dip next to you. Wonwoo took your hands in his, revealing your tearful eyes to him making him sigh.
“Baby, don’t worry.” He kissed your cheeks repeatedly before sitting up again, “I’ll run down to the convenience store, get a plan b while you go take a bath. I’ll join you when I get back.”
“W-What’s happens if I take the plan b and still miraculously end up pregnant, it’s only ninety five percent effective.”
“Then I’ll be with you every step of the way. I meant what I said earlier, I love you so much and I plan to marry you and have kids with you one day. Don’t worry.”
Your heart felt full. The butterflies erupting in the pit of your stomach. Wonwoo and you had shared many intimate dreams and desires before, but this one felt different. This was a dream the two of you shared and it made you feel at ease. “Okay, okay I will, just hurry up please.”
Wonwoo scoffed, getting up from his bed, slipping on his sweatpants and sweatshirt. “Baby please don’t underestimate me. I’ll be back before you know it.” He leaned down giving you one last kiss before jogging over to his front door. “I love you.” He shouted, opening the door.
You laughed sitting up on your elbows shaking your head, “I love you, now hurry I can feel your child cooking in me.”
“Impossible, it takes roughly twenty four hours for my sperm to fertilize one of your eggs, and it’s literally been thirty minutes. Therefore you wou--”
“Wonwoo shut up just hurry.”
“Okay I love you.” He said while closing his front door. You laughed shaking your head falling back on his bed. Your entire body was aching and though you were a little scared, given obvious circumstances. You had never felt so much warmth and happiness in your life.

Have we met before? | Wonwoo (svt)
Listening to: have we met before? By Sarah Barrios ft. Eric Nam
* italics are for flashbacks. This little drabble is slightly confusing but I hope you enjoy it anyway ❤
----
"Excuse me but, do I know you?"
Wonwoo is barely breathing as you lower your book from the other side of the table. The rain pelting down onto the window pane providing a nice background hum, accompanied by the gentle whirring of the coffee machine.
The smell of coffee combs through the air that curls with warmth. The cafe is oozing of coziness, especially with the weather outside, and Wonwoo is pretty certain that he wouldn't have acted so impulsively if not for the fact that you're the only two people present.
You lower your book with a raised brow, quirked up in mild amusement and surprisingly, no trace of annoyance, "uhm, I'm not sure," you start off slow, trying to search his features for any sign of recognition, "do I?"
At this exact moment, your words zap through him like buzzing electricity as memories flick through his eyes like a movie on rewind.
"What you reading?" You giggle, hands cupping your face while trying to peek over Wonwoo's shoulder. He smiles, impulsively tilting towards you like you're his central point of axis, "time traveling."
"You believe in that?"
He hums. Your arms lace their way around the back of his neck, leaving traila of warmth across his skin, "Belief is a strong word. I might entertain the idea."
"I think it's possible. But quite improbable."
"Hello?" Your hand waves over his face and Wonwoo snaps back to attention with a start, "uh-- yeah, sorry. I-- I thought your face looked familiar. What's your name?"
"Y/N," you pause, "and you are?"
He tells you his name, hopes to see some recognition flash across your face. You don't give him any, only sparkling curiosity.
"You come here often? I've never seen you around here before," you ask. He wonders whether it's his imagination that makes him notice the childish mischief you always carry around with you.
"I used to," in another lifetime, his mind completes, "but it's changed since the last time I came here. Took me a while to find it."
"So tell me, Wonwoo. How can I be of help?" You grin. At least your generosity seems to extend to this version of you, so entrancing he can't help mirroring your grin.
"Actually, I was just really intrigued by the book you're reading," he tilts his head, locks eyes with you, "an interesting choice."
"Oh yeah," you turn the book cover over in your hands, "I'm not usually fond of non-fiction books. But for some reason I just couldn't get this one out of my head. It's really good though! In a weird, sciency sort of way."
Yes, Wonwoo knows exactly what you're talking about. Because he's the one who'd been reading it in the first place. Except, he can really tell you that he's responsible for your reading choice when you don't even know him.
"If you like this, then maybe you should look into astrology," Wonwoo says instead, "there are many theories on how the stars and fate have a funny relationship."
A rainy Saturday evening. You, waving your fork filled with a nutella crepe in Wonwoo's face as he chuckles and takes a bite just to indulge you.
"Good?" You beam up at him underneath your beret, your necklace catching in the dim lights of the diner. Soft french music permeates through the speakers.
Wonwoo hums, "I still think pancakes are better."
"Nonsense!" You gasp, appearing mockingly offended, "pancakes are just the cheaper, fatter version of crepes!"
"That's because you haven't eaten the pancakes from where I come from."
"Nu uh, parisian crepes are top notch, I'm not going back on my statement," you grin, taking a bite out of your crepe stack. Your other hand finds Wonwoo's under the table and it's impossible to miss the small, shy smile that adorns your face when he brushes his thumb over your knuckles.
Wonwoo knows this won't last forever. He's not exactly sure how or when he'll manage to get back where he belongs. But if there's one thing that he knows is that he's completely smitten with you.
"I love the crepes here," you gush. Wonwoo blinks. No beret this time, he thinks to himself, "wanna try some?"
"No thanks, I'm good," he swallows hard. Oh, how he misses the softness glinting in your eyes. He'd do anything to make you remember; his feelings, your touch, the secret kisses exchanged underneath the moonlight.
As if on impulse, his orbs find the necklace restimg against your collarbone, "nice necklace. Where did you get it?"
He's surprised you're not creeped out at this point. But maybe, just maybe, you feel the pull of his soul towards yours, for you lean forward now, hand cupping your jaw and crepes now forgotten in favour of giving him your attention.
"I got it from..." you toy with your necklace, twist it between your fingers, "huh, strange. I don't remember."
Wonwoo's fingers brush against your collarbone as he fastens the clasp. Turning around to beam up at him, his heart softens at the blush littering your cheeks and down your neck, "thanks Wonwoo. It's really beautiful."
He allows his fingers to brush along the necklace, tracing the span of your shoulder as he does so, "I presume you like it then?"
"I love it. You didn't have to."
"I wanted to," he pauses as his thumb cups your jaw, "for you to keep when I'm gone."
"That's weird," you look up at him, frowning. And then, something flickers across your features, "wait--- why d'you wanna know where I got it from?"
Wonwoo's throat runs dry, "I-- just curious, I guess."
But he's a bad liar and you're sharp enough to notice his mask slip, "what? What's with that face?"
"What face?"
"You know something. Why'd you come talk to me in the first place?"
"I--" shit. You're too sharp for him to escape your notice and yet he can't exactly tell you the truth. Wonwoo's jaw tightens as he gazes across the table at you, at the sharp glint in your dark brown eyes and something in his stomach churdles in anxiety.
"Gone?" You lean closer to his warmth. Cold air escapes your lips, "where are you going?"
"I don't have much time," Wonwoo murmurs, noses brushing together. Hands finding purchase at your waist to hug you a little tighter, he continues, "I'm sorry. I can't tell you much. But I promise I'll come back."
"Tell me," your gaze hardens. His breath stops momentarily in his chest.
"I--no. Well, not exactly."
"What do you mean, not exactly?"
Wonwoo's thoughts are racing against time. His mind is a complete mess, "it's really nothing."
You hum and he's glad that this seems to satisfy you for now. Relief floods through him the moment you resume finishing the rest of your pancakes, albeit the fact that your gaze is still zeroed in on him with a gleam of suspicion.
"You're not off the hook, if that's what you're thinking," you tell him.
Wonwoo can't help but chuckle at that. Trust you to threaten him without evidence, "I promise you I'm not a murderer."
"Hm. Guess we'll have to wait and see."
"You're harsh, considering I'm just here to keep you accompany."
You send him a pointed glance, "I can entertain myself. Thank you very much."
"And yet here you are, talking to me," cocking his head, he says mischievously, "if I didn't know better, I'd say you even like it."
"Don't flatter yourself," your words may have been sharp, but it is paired with a chuckle and that is enough to melt away the rest of Wonwoo's self restraint.
He swears he'll come here everyday. Every single day, until you remember. Or until he marks a permanent place in your heart.
The heat of your gaze causes him to look up at you through his eyelashes.
"Are you sure we haven't met before?"
Wonwoo smiles, a soft breath escaping him in the form of a sigh, "if we did, I would've remembered."

From You, For You
Chan x Reader
Angst, like pureeee angst, friendstostrangers!au
1.7k words
Requested by anon🤍
Summary: The one where he sacrifices his heart for you- by leaving you
Tumblr media
Unrequited love was truly a bitch. And in Chan’s case, it was even worse when the one he liked had feelings for his own member. The youngest had to stand by, watching you and Jeonghan flirt back and forth constantly- and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it but smile and nod when they asked if he was okay; news flash, he wasn’t. His heart felt like it was going to burst inside his chest, the organ being tied with snakes that were ready to pierce his heart any second.
To Chan there was no point in even trying to confess, he knew it would only end in pure agony. So he did what any (stupid) smart man would do when he didn’t want to bruise his ego- move on. And to do this, he created a 3 step plan (because 5 was too many).
Step 1- find a distraction.
Easy enough. Chan already had a lot going on with being in SVT, so he figured by amping up his practice times he’d surely have less time to think about you. Wrong. You showed up to his practices, bringing him food and such because he didn’t have time to get it himself. One reason why he fell in love with you- you had the sweetest heart.
Step 2- increase distance
It was getting harder for the dancer. He had a tough time staying away from you considering you were not only best friends with him, but close to his members as well. The boys and you constantly danced together when they had a break, so his only option was to stay dancing on the opposite side of the room. Whenever you tried to sneak to where he was, Chan would hop on over to the bathroom and peek through the door crack until you went back to Jeonghan’s side.
Step 3, the final step- slow down communication
This is where Chan fucked up. He took his own step way to literally and went from giving you space, to avoiding you at all costs. You texted him? His phone was off. Show up at the dorm wanting to have a sleepover with him? He was sick. And not only were you starting to get upset, but so were the others. They were simply the peanut gallery being put in the middle of a puppy love story, and it was ever so frustrating. The boys had to lie for Chan while also trying to keep talking to you themselves- it was a horrid situation.
Jeonghan on the other hand, was oblivious as to why Chan was trying to distance himself from you. Didn’t he have a crush on you? The elder boy had been rooting for the two of you for awhile now, so he was kind of confused now that Chan didn’t want much to do with you. Being the sneaky, but also concerned, friend he was, Jeonghan started rooting for information.
“Hey Coups”
Seungcheol glanced up from his phone at the blonde boy, mumbling a “yeah?” in response.
“Doesn’t chan like y/n?” Jeonghan scrunched his nose, moving to sit by the leader, crossing his arms over his knees and propping his chin up with one.
“Uh yeah I think so, why?” Seungcheol shut off his phone, becoming curious as to where Jeonghan was going with this.
“Oh I was just wondering cause I haven’t seen them hangout much”
Seungcheol nodded, licking his lips. It wouldn’t hurt to tell him why right? He was technically involved as to why the two best friends weren’t talking, “he’s trying to move on from them”
Jeonghan quirked a brow, slightly shaking his head forward to get Cheol to continue what he was saying.
“Because-” Seungcheol paused, he had an itching feeling he shouldn’t be telling Jeonghan this much, but he was bound to find out somehow, so why not, “y/n doesn’t exsctly feel the same”
Now the singer was surprised, what did he mean they don’t exactly feel the same? Jeonghan raised his forehead, his mouth parting in slight shock, “what? What do you mean they don’t “exactly” feel the same?”
Seungcheol pursed his lips, tilting his head back with a sigh. You were going to kill him. “They don’t feel the same towards Chan, because-“ he closed his eyes, rubbing the space between his eyebrows before opening them and awkwardly looking over at Jeonghan’s confused expression, “they like you”
Bitch say what?
————
Jeonghan wasn’t sure exactly what he was feeling at the sudden confession he just heard. Guilt? He had to guess that it was the closest word to describe it. Guilty because he didn’t want to be the cause of yours and Chan’s fallout. Guilty because he had to break it to you he didn’t feel the same.
Jeonghan adored you to pieces, he really did. He thought you were beautiful and crazy sweet, but in the little sibling sort of way- which was almost worse than being friend zoned he had to imagine. And if you didn't hate him for breaking your heart, he had a feeling he knew who would.
But he’d cross that bridge when he gets there, for now he’s currently hyping himself up in front of the mirror waiting for you to finish up in the bathroom. You were currently hanging out with him and Joshua, and with Josh taking a shower at the moment he figured now was as best of a time as any to break it to you about this whole messy feelings situation.
“Deep breaths Jeonghan, things will all work out”
“What are you talking about?” Jeonghan was interrupted by the sound of your voice, a small chuckle escaping your lips from his face that looks as if he were a deer caught in headlights.
He shook his head, instead tugging your hand into his and leading you to sit on his bed. You were utterly confused now, looking at him with narrowed eyes, “why are you being so weird??”
Jeonghan sucked in a deep breath, squeezing your hands a little tighter against his scared you were to either slap him or run off, “can I tell you something important?”
You slowly tilted your head up and down, curious eyes looking into his nervous brown ones. Your brain couldn’t help but run over possible things he could say, through the most present though was of course the one you wanted to hear most: him confessing to you. As the thought crossed your mind your stomach twisted into knots, your nerves starting to act up.
Jeonghan chewed on his bottom lip, his mouth slowly beginning to open-
This was it, here he goes-
“I-I don’t feel the same”
“O-oh, uh” you were on fire, not the good kind where you’re so excited you could melt, but the kind where you’re so embarrassed you could absolutely light on fire.
Jeonghan searched your face over and over, trying to decipher any reaction possible. But you were smarter than you let on, you acted almost uninterested in his words, instead softly smiling at him and standing up from your spot, “that’s alright! I’m just glad to be friends”
Jeonghan breathed a sigh of relief at your calmness. “Cmere” he grinned, pulling you into his arms as he squeezed you tight against him, rocking you guys back and forth. Hearing you giggle at his sudden shift in mood made his heart swell, he really did care about you. Just not in the way you wanted him to.
Of course while the blonde heard you laugh and could pull you back to see your face with a similar grin matching his own, he couldn’t see the way your eyes didn’t nearly shine as much light as they should. Nor did he know that the only thought on your mind was how bad you couldn’t wait to be home, tucked in your bed, sobbing the heartbreak away.
And your old best friend was in the same boat.
———-
Weeks went by and neither you nor Chan had spoken all but two words to one another. While you continued to occasionally hangout with the other members, you hardly ever seen the youngest around- and no one seemed to comment on it. You, on the other hand, were freaking out.
It hurt bad enough that your crush had friend-zoned the shit out of you, but you didn’t even have your best friend to turn to when you needed him the most. And you weren’t stupid, it was fairly obvious he was ignoring you. No matter how many times you tried confronting him, he always seemed to distance himself more.
“Chan seriously what did I do wrong-“
“Nothing! I’m just busy, sorry”
He was never that busy, not when his members invited you to their dorm that exact night because they had a free day. So you told yourself he was just stressing over the comeback coming up soon, that you would try again some other time.
But it didn’t matter how long you waited to ask him what was going on, his answer was always the same-
“Seriously y/n I just don’t have the time to hangout, I’m sorry”
Figuring enough was enough, you stopped trying all together. You thought by doing this he’d come to you instead of the other way around, that maybe when he finally wasn’t “busy” he’d make time for you. But he never did. Not once. Not even when you saw him at his own dorm. He’d just get his food and head into his room until you were leaving and then would go to sit on the couch as everyone greeted you goodbye.
After a while you stopped noticing him all together, it was like he didn’t even exist. When you passed one another at the dorm or in the practice room when you hung out with the others, the two of you would hardly share a glance of acknowledgement before carrying on with your days. But you didn’t seem to mind it anymore, it was no longer hurting. The numbness went away with time, and Chan felt it too.
He moved on from his feelings.
And so did you.

As long as we are together, even the endless maze is paradise.
w.c 1.8k
pairing. Changkyun x gn!reader
genre. fluff, still dont know how to classify it but it’s my take on relationships in real life(?)
a/n. mention of svt members <3, this takes place on the universe(?) of the fic i have in progress, got excited and went for this lil scenario, i'll always try to make them as gender-neutral as possible, hope you enjoy (• ε •)
You finally had gotten off work. This shift had been unbelievably chaotic and you couldn’t wait any longer to get home. But of course, it’s raining, today of all days.
Adding the fact that Chloe’s been extremely unpleasant today. You’ve been on bad terms for a while now since she found out about you and Vernon.
You clocked out at the same time and she just wanted to get on your nerves. But you were past being this immature, especially when it came to a guy you haven’t seen since you graduated.
"Just go already, Chloe".
With that, you went to exit the building and that's when you saw Minghao waiting for a cab –in the rain–.
You tried to get Minghao's attention, so he could get inside with you but you both just ended up at the door frame barely safe from the rain. You hugged even though he was soaking.
You didn’t mind because you haven't seen him in years, and you didn't know you missed the way you felt when you were with him. Strangely so, his hug felt like being 17 again. Can’t tell if it’s a good or bad thing.
You made some small talk about the weather and teased him for standing in the rain. “Are you shooting a music video or something?”
He laughed but quickly changed the subject, "I hope you've been good, I haven't seen you in years but you look really happy".
How can he still be this good at reading me? You could only smile to the ground and gave him a side hug. "I've really missed you Hao; hope you’re doing well too".
Suddenly, his phone started to ring, and you caught a glimpse of the screen before he asked you "Mind if I answer?" Wonwoo was calling him. "Not at all, go ahead!" You told him with a smile.
Not to be nosy but you wanted to hear this conversation. "I've been waiting for you to pick me up for almost an hour dumbass, are you aware that it's fucking RAINING?"
And of course, you couldn't hear the other person on the line, but you knew perfectly he must've been making a hell of an excuse. "Right, yes, I'm still here, no I'm not alone… just hurry I'm freezing".
Guess it was inevitable that you'll see Wonwoo in a few minutes.
You broke up more than three years ago and haven't seen him since then. You’re more than ready to rip the band-aid. You didn't exactly end on bad terms, but maybe some awkwardness is still laying in there. Actually, you haven't thought about him in a while. You started to wonder how has he been all this time.
"I thought you were waiting for a cab Hao!! I can still give you a ride if you want"
"Aw y/n no, don't worry about it, I'm going out with the guys, so I'll have to take you up on that offer another time"
"Alright then, you have to promise me we'll catch up soon, it’s been too long”.
It was as if the world was telling you to wrap it up because you saw a very familiar car approaching the street, and immediately your phone started ringing too.
You saw that it was almost 9:00 P.M. Changkyun hasn't got here? You signaled Minghao that you were going to answer your phone and got inside the building again.
"Hi my baby!!! I'm sorry for running late the guys got me caught up at work BUT I AM ALREADY ON THE WAY I'LL SEE YOU IN LITERALLY TWO MINUTES"
You could hear how worried your boyfriend was and it was so endearing that you couldn't help but laugh at the way he was screaming in the car.
"It's okay baby I ran into someone here at work too, I got distracted and didn't notice the time, but please DRIVE SAFE IT’S RAINING BUT ALSO hurry upppp” You ended up with a pout as if he could see your expression.
"I'm hurrying I swear!!! —YES — your man has arrived at the destination". “Ok, ‘my man’ needs to come get me please” he made you laugh at his words. “I'm here at the door BYE"
With that, you went outside again, and you couldn't have imagined that you would see all these guys in front of you EVER AGAIN. Nor that they would get out of the car just to say hello to you. But maybe that's your mistake cause they have always been friends, still after everything that happened.
So, there they were, Wonwoo, Jihoon, Chan, Jun, and Minghao. All eyes on you, all of them waiting for the other to talk to you first, but everyone noticed how your eyes immediately went to Wonwoo and you both smiled at each other. Jihoon was happy that you made eye contact with him, even though he noticed there was nothing for him behind your eyes.
You were the first one to talk.
"Hey there you guys, Hao told me you were going out!" You said while looking at Chan. "Yeah, we're headed to the Lucky 94!!"
"Want to join us?" You heard Jun ask, and before you could say no, your knight in shining armor shouted your name. "BABYYYY!!" Yes, your official name is baby, what about it?
All of you turned to the left side of the street where Changkyun was power walking to you. It came as a surprise to all of them, no one knew you were in a relationship at the moment, but after all these years they should've known, they knew how private you were about your entire life.
When Changkyun got by your side he just wrapped his hand in yours and flashed all the guys in front of him one of his prettiest smiles. As if he didn't look threatening as fuck.
Your love for him was only growing by the second. "Guys this is my boyfriend Changkyun, unfortunately, I have to deny your offer tonight because we already have plans, but I hope we see each other again soon!”
"It's okay y/n we can plan something another time, you look really good by the way" Wonwoo finally spoke and Changkyun tightened his grip on you.
"Thank you Wonwoo, have fun tonight. It was nice to see all of you" Having said this, your eyes landed on Jihoon, who was now leaning against the car, ready to get away from there.
Maybe at another point in your life, you would've sensed something negative by seeing him in this circumstance. But all you could find inside you was a trace of the love you had for him when you were a teenager.
You quickly decided that you wouldn’t give him this space in your head. Neither of you deserved to revisit those feelings that you already went through years ago.
Especially now when you have this wonderful person by your side, it wasn't a coincidence that he got there at this exact moment. Making you appreciate the little things he does for you that say, “I’m here, and I care so deeply about you”. Your life with Changkyun has intertwined so profoundly that everything comes easy with him.
You all said your goodbyes, and you started walking to the parking lot. You got to your boyfriend’s car, but you didn’t get inside just yet, Changkyun stared at you and your eyes told him everything he needed to know. Your boyfriend swiftly wrapped you up in a much-needed hug.
Since he called you, he knew something was going on, he has gotten good at sensing the way you were feeling. In moments like this, you were happy to know that his heart was as invested in you as you were with him. He softly spoke in your ear “Let’s get inside baby, it’s cold as hell in here”.
He opened your door, and you waited for him to get inside. You searched for his embrace once again, his arms made you feel so at home that you were glad he came to get you tonight, and you had to let him know this. “Today was hard,” You said, still clinging to his arms, not minding the incredibly uncomfortable pose you got yourself into just so you could be hugged by your boyfriend for a few more minutes. “Thanks for picking me up tonight”
“You know that I would come for you every day if you just let me, you stubborn baby” You laughed against his chest and gave him a light punch at this arm. “Hey, hey let’s not get violent in here, I’m sensitive,” He told you while laughing and ended up with a tender kiss to the top of your head.
You don’t know much, but you do know you love him. When he smiles like this, the world seems to fade away with all your problems, and he’s all you can see. Every time he’s singing in the car on your way home, the outside noise doesn’t even exist anymore. All you want to do is grab his face and kiss him, but that would mean he’d stop singing. And when he looks at you with those beautiful brown eyes, when he places his hand on yours, when he lets you rest your head in his chest, and listen to the beat of his heart, just his mere existence makes you believe that you found this little piece of heaven within him.
The love you were always searching for, you found it with him. No one else had been able to make you feel like you were bursting with love, and you always believed that that needed to happen for you to be in a relationship with someone. You always knew that love isn’t meant to be hard, nor it makes you lose the person that you are. For you, it was about sharing your souls, goals, and perspectives, cause when the time to be together would come, your lives would already be made, and you would just be together supporting each other, still maturing. And that this person would only make you feel safe, happy, and loved. Changkyun was your definition of love.
Your relationship with him made you further confirm this. You thought it would scare you to be vulnerable around him but opening your heart to him was one of the easiest things you’ve ever done. You’re aware you were complete without him. And he knew this. But being by his side, experiencing life with him, made you want to be so much better. You only wanted to support him every step of the way. It made you want to be stronger with him. You wanted both of you to grow together and help each other grow individually. And the fact that he was on the same page with you about this, knowing that you don’t need each other but you really fucking want to be together, makes you think you have a pretty great shot at this.
You know, undoubtedly, you are in love with this man. And it feels a hundred times better to know he loves you too.

Limerence (SVT S.Coups)
The castle of Kestramore greeted you as you got out of the carriage, your hands tugging at the front of your ballgown. You found yourself staring at the line of royalties entering one by one, your heart pounding within your chest as you squeeze your hands to ease the nervousness you felt. On the outside, you may seem like a composed young lady but in reality, you felt like a newborn fawn heading out into the wild. You took a deep breath before walking inside of the castle.
You couldn't help but let your eyes wander around, admiring the design of the castle you were in. You had always admired the structure of the Kestramore Castle, always reading about it in the books that were found in your personal library. You sighed as you stopped yourself from touching anything, wanting more than anything to let out the joy that you felt from being here but alas, you had to keep your composure.
It wasn't long before you reached the large doors of the ballroom, a servant standing at the front of it. He stared at you, his mouth slightly open as he did. You tilted your head in confusion, wondering why he hadn't taken the invitation you had. "Hello?"
Seeming to have been broken from his trance, he held out his hand. You complied, handing the invitation to the servant. "Your name, my lady?"
"(Y/n). (Y/n) (L/n) from Tirianna." You uttered out, letting out a soft smile.
You saw how his eyes widened, a faint blush present on his cheeks as he coughed. He gestured the knights to open the door for you, as to which you nodded as thanks. You took a deep breath before entering the ballroom, your fingers sweating underneath the gloves you wore.
"Presenting Princess (Y/n) from the kingdom of Tirianna"
As you entered, you could feel the set of eyes that landed on your form. You felt the sudden urge to look down on the ground as you walked but you did everything you could to stop yourself from doing so. You were a dignified princess from Tirianna, your teacher would be disappointed in you if you did. So you walked with as much grace as you could muster, smiling whenever you made eye contact with another person. Taking a careful glance around the ballroom, you decided that you needed to socialize so you approached a set of royals with who you had grown familiar.
"(Y/n)! You're here!" Princess Elise, from the kingdom of Sarithia, had greeted you with a large grin. You chuckled at his energy, playfully slapping him in the arms as you did. "You talk as if we haven't seen each other last week, Princess Elise."
She let out a playful glare, a small pout present on her lips. "I told you, just call me Elise."
"Alright, Princess Elise." You teased.
"(Y/n)! I told you to---"
"It seems like the person I've been waiting for is here." A voice stopped Elise from speaking, allowing your heads to turn towards the source. Once you saw who it was, you smiled, your hands raised to wave at them. "Yvonne!" You saw how she let out a smile towards you, her arms outstretched to hug you. You gratefully returned her hug, happiness bubbling in your stomach.
She had been one of your first few friends, the two of you meeting at the town square. It was a funny story, really. You were only walking by when you saw her, surrounded by a group of stuck-up princesses. They had been yelling at her, telling her words that would have made anyone tear up but she only glared at them, mouth shut as she listened to them. You had stayed, watching the group grow more annoyed at her silence. It was only when they threatened to slap her that you ran to her side, catching the hand of the female before harshly pushing her.
You took her hand after doing so, head-turning to her before whispering, "Run." You pulled her along, the female growing confused as the two of you ran to get away from the stuck-ups.
"Why are you doing this?!" She yelled out in between breaths, as to which you could only laugh.
"I don't know! I just wanted to!"
After that, the female made sure that you felt at ease with the royalties, introducing you to her select group of friends. There was never a time where she didn't invite you to her tea parties, sometimes only being the two of you. She, like you, only had a few friends, seeing as she is quite introverted and prefers to be with those she is close with.
"No fair, (Y/n)! You call her by her name while I'm stuck with formalities."
The two of you broke from the hug, the two of you looking at the Princess. Yvonne smiled sarcastically, a teasing tone lacing her voice as she stared at her. "Oh? Is that so? I thought you guys were close but I guess not?" She sighed, head shaking in playful disappointment.
"We are!"
The sight of the two caused you to laugh at their interaction. Noticing that you were quiet, Yvonne turned to you, "Have you only arrived, (Y/n)?"
You nodded, "I did, I was lucky to see Elise immediately. It was getting uncomfortable with the people staring at me."
"Well," She glanced at you from up to down, before letting out a proud smile, "I wouldn't be surprised if they did, have you seen yourself?"
"What do you mean?"
"You look absolutely ravishing, (Y/n)."
Elise nodded in agreement, "That's right! You look really good today (Y/n)!" She let out a thumbs up, her grin present on her mouth once more. You felt your cheeks heat up, unable to look at your friends due to their comments. 'Was that really the reason...?'
"By the way, isn't today the day?"
You glance at Yvonne, wondering what she had meant by that. She gestured you to look at your arm, your eyes trailing at the numbers that were on them.
00:00:07:49
"How did you..." You trailed off, gazing at the female in front of you. She merely let out a small chuckle, sipping the wine that she had taken from the servant that passed by.
It wasn't long before Elise left the two of you, the female called on by her soulmate, Felix. She looked back at the two of you, saying out his apologies before waving.
"It looks like it's only the two of us now," Yvonne whispered out. From the corner of your eyes, you saw a person walking towards the two of you. They had gestured for you to pretend you didn't see them, as to which you subtly nodded before smiling at Yvonne. "It won't be for too long."
She looked at you, confusion present on her features. It wasn't long before the person joined you, his hands covering Yvonne's eyes. Her hands held the hands that were on top of her eyes, taking them off before turning around. When she saw who it was, her expression visibly softening, "Wonwoo."
The said man chuckled, placing his hands around her waist before kissing the top of her head. As the two conversed, you didn't fail to see the way they look at one another, eyes full of love and adoration for one another. Smiling, you quietly left their side, walking towards the large window of the ballroom.
Once more, you checked on your arm, hands tracing the numbers that were placed on them. You felt a sense of nervousness bubbling in your stomach, mind overthinking about the littlest of things.
'I wonder if he'd like me.' You sighed before fixating your eyes on the view of the garden outside, admiring the hard work that was placed onto it. Your curiosity grew more as you continued to stare outside, soon making a decision to head out. You walked towards the exit leading to the garden, soon welcoming the silence that it brought. While you enjoyed conversing with your friends, it was quite tiring to be in a large crowd of people.
You walked into the garden, admiring the flowers that decorated your surroundings. Your eyes spotted a nearby bench, deciding that it would be best to take a seat. It was a beautiful night to be outside, the stars shining brightly in the sky. You smiled as you closed your eyes, enjoying the breeze that the night gave you.
A sudden pinch on your arm made you flinch, your other hand rubbing on the part where you felt the pinch. You glanced at your hand, Your eyes widening when you saw the numbers all turn to zero. "No way..."
"It's you." A voice broke you out of your trance, head-turning towards the source. Your eyes widened when you realized who it was, your mind refusing to believe what you were seeing. You glanced down at your arm before slowly glancing back up to the man. "Prince Seungcheol," You whispered out breathlessly, your heart refusing to calm down.
You couldn't help but admire the person in front of you. His hair was as dark as a raven, his skin a beautiful shade of ivory. His face was a bit on the smaller side, with the curves of his mouth pointing downwards. His eyes were the most prominent to you, a pair of intense eyes that were now staring at you. If God had favourites then he was surely one of them.
The man approached you, a sheepish smile gracing his lips. "May I?"
You nodded, eyes wandering around the garden as he sat down beside you. You could feel your cheeks flush, your hands fiddling on the gown you wore. You turned to him, the man looking at the fountain in front of you. "How did you know?"
"I just felt it, I guess? The moment my eyes laid on you, I felt a small pinching on my arm and when I looked, it was all zeroes." He peeked at you from the corner of his eyes, "Didn't you feel it?"
"I did, I know exactly how it feels."
There was silence between the two of you after, but it wasn't the type that made you uncomfortable. Rather, you appreciated his presence beside you, despite the silence. You slightly shivered, the cold night breeze causing you goosebumps. Seungcheol, seeming to have noticed, slowly began taking off his coat. "Are you cold?"
"A bit," You glanced at him from the corner of your eyes, soon realizing what he was doing, "But I'm okay, I swear! You don't need to..."
He wrapped his coat around your form, his eyes staring into yours as he did. Your cheeks flushed once more at his actions, "Thank you but what about you?"
"I'm fine, don't worry about me," He let out a soft smile when he saw the difference in your size, "I think it looks better on you."
You coughed, eyes looking away from his stare. You could hear him chuckle, causing you to peek at him from the corner of your eyes. You found yourself looking at his smile, seeing that it was the kind of smile that could light up a room. You allowed yourself to be swayed by it, your stomach bubbling with happiness. He noticed your gaze on him, "I forgot to ask earlier but may I have your name?"
You blinked your eyes slowly, "My name?"
He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, "I didn't quite catch it."
"You placed your coat on me despite not knowing my name?"
"Is that a bad thing?" A hint of red spreading across his cheeks. You stared at him for a few seconds before letting out a small laugh. Seungcheol could only gaze at you confusedly, causing you to wave your hands as a gesture that it was nothing. You held out your hand, a grin plastered on your mouth. "I'm (Y/n). (L/n)(Y/n)."
He glanced at your hands before smiling, wrapping his hands onto yours. "Seungcheol. Choi Seungcheol."
The two of you stayed like that for a few seconds, not finding it in yourselves to let go. His eyes never broke contact with yours, a soft expression gracing his features. He opened his mouth to say something,  "Do you, maybe, want to spend the rest of the evening with me, Princess (Y/n)?"
You chuckled softly, slightly nodding as you gently removed his hold from yours. "I'd love to."

Light of My Life
pairing : minghao x reader

a/n : for minghao’s birthday😌 it isnt a lot like how i wanted but it does justice lol. also, lets pretend they weren’t by the ocean lol
svt written masterlist || main masterlist
You sat in your apartment opening the box you received from the mail today. Jun had helped you plan this date for Minghao for his birthday and this item would complete the whole date. You pulled out the lanterns that were in a plastic bag and scanned them.
“Perfect,” You place them carefully in the picnic basket, finally set for your date with Minghao tomorrow. You heard your phone buzz on the table.
Minghao : hi yn, what you up to?
You smiled at his text, grateful that he took the time to text you even with his busy schedule
You : i am currently preparing for our date tomorrow :D
Minghao : ooo how exciting. can i know what you have planned??
You : you should know the answer to that question
Minghao rolled his eyes as he stared at his screen. Of course you would turn the tables on him, he always made your dates a surprise.
Minghao : no fair :(
You : how is this not fair??
Minghao : cuz i want to know lol.
You contemplated but stood your ground; you can’t tell him.
You : guess you just have to find out tomorrow.
Minghao sighed, giving up on attempting to find out what you have planned.
Minghao : fine. but don’t think ill tell you what i have planned for your birthday.
You : yeah yeah i know. dont you still have practice?
He looked at the clock in the practice room and then to some of his members who were sitting on the floor or standing.
Minghao : yeah i should probably get going. its late too, you should sleep.
You : i will dont worry. stay safe and dont push yourself.
Minghao : i wont. goodnight my love, i love you.
You : i love you too.
You locked your phone and took the basket, placing it on the kitchen counter. Tomorrow was going to be an eventful day.
~
You placed the basket with all the supplies you needed in the trunk of your car, deciding to make it a surprise. Taking the other basket that you prepared this morning with various types of food, you put it in the backseat behind the drivers side. Getting in, you started the car and headed to Minghao’s dorm.
You tapped the wheel in excitement, you finally get to have some part of the day with Minghao before his birthday. It was November 6th, so it wasn’t exactly his birthday, but you did get to have him until midnight and that’s all that counts. And it made your plan perfect.
You got to the parking garage and texted your boyfriend that you were downstairs waiting. After 5 minutes, you see the elevator open and Minghao step out, looking as handsome as ever.
He approached the car and got into the passenger seat, giving you a quick kiss. “Hi,” he smiled at you, “Hi,” you smiled back. You began to pull out of the building, picking up a small conversation with each other.
“How was the drive?” You turned down the radio, “Same as usual, smooth, nothing wrong, I was safe.” He smiled, happy that you had a decent ride, “That’s good. So, where are we going?”
You took your eyes off the road to look at him for a split second before focusing back on the road. A grin creeped onto your face, “You’ll find out soon Hao. Be patient, you’ll love it.”
“No, I know I’ll love it, I just have to let my manager know because of protocol,” You sighed, “Is that really the reason?” He looked outside the window, playing with his rings, “Half of it, they told me to have fun.”
You smiled and turned up the radio, “Shut up and enjoy the ride baby. Trust, you’ll enjoy it more.”
~
“This is nice,” Minghao sighed beside you on the picnic blanket. “Yeah it is.”
All the food in the basket was empty, mainly Minghao devouring most of it. “So, what are we gonna do now?” You looked at the time on your phone. Sun sets at 6:45 and it’s 3:50. You have three hours for what you have planned so it should be enough.
“I’ll be right back, I have to get something.” You got up quickly and retrieved the extra basket that was in the trunk. You returned to Minghao, “Ta da!”
“More food??” You laughed and sat down in your place, “No, an activity. Jun actually helped me with the idea.” You opened up the basket, taking out of the things you packed inside, “What is this YN?” He picked up one of the lanterns.
“It’s a lantern. I packed all these art supplies so we could decorate them and light them up and release them. Originally, I wanted to do it at midnight because that’s when your actual birthday is, but the timing wasn’t right, and plus it’s dangerous during nighttime.”
He looked at you with his mouth agape, “That’s so,,, thoughtful. I can’t believe you came up with this.”
“Actually Jun-” “-let’s just give you the credit for now.” You smiled at him as he leaned over and kissed you on the lips. You held his face in place as his right hand was planted in between the two of you so he wouldn’t lose balance. Pulling away, you smiled at each other, “Happy Birthday my love.”
“Thank you, I love you so much. Now! Let's get to painting!”
~
“My lantern looks like crap oh my god,” you looked at the blue blob on your cylinder object. “I’m sure it looks fine YN, just keep going.” You put down the paint brush and looked at your boyfriend.
He’s been in ‘The8’ mode ever since you two started painting. He didn’t want you to see what he was making, so it became a rule that when you both finish, that’s when you present your pieces to each other.
“I don’t know why you’re not letting me see yours, it’s not like I haven’t seen you paint before.” You continued to try and make your blob look presentable by drawing a happy face, “You know, when you took me out here in like the middle of nowhere, I thought you would’ve killed me, broken up with me and left me here to starve, or go cloud watching.”
You looked at him with a weird face, “Well for one thing, there are no clouds today. And two, I wouldn’t have let you starve, that’s too painful.” You finally looked up at you, “So you would’ve killed me?”
You purse your lips, “Would you rather starve to death?” He rolled his eyes and looked back down at his artwork.
“I get that Jun helped you with this, but like, how did the idea come about?” You painted mindlessly while pondering on an answer, “Well I thought of you and what you would like, even if you said anything. But I just thought about what you meant to me, like how lanterns are bright when you light them up, and when you release them, they float. It’s a really bad metaphor, but you’re like my lantern. You’re the light of my life and every time I’m with you, I’m always on cloud nine. Plus it fits with your culture.”
He was looking at you when you tried to sneak a peek at his lantern. “I’m gonna pretend I didn’t just see you try to look at my lantern. But besides the point, that was really cheesy, but I love you.” You smiled and put down the brush.
“Well, I’m done with mine.” You looked at him, seeing him also set down his brush, “Me too. Do we let it dry and assemble it?” You contemplated on your answer for a bit, “Uhh, I could probably assemble mine because it looks like trash anyway, but if you like yours, let it dry a little and then assemble it.”
~
Minghao just finished assembling his lantern after it dried for a bit. It was currently 6:50, the sky was just turning into various shades of orange, pink and purple. “Okay, wanna see mine now?” You looked at your boyfriend and he held his lantern behind his back, “Show me.”
He brought it in front of him and lifted it up, slowly turning it to see the details that he drew on. “Wow, it looks beautiful, I can’t really see it.”
He brought it back down and signaled for you to scoot closer, “This here, is the bouquet of your favorite flower that I got you for Valentines Day,” You smiled as he turned it a little to move to the next picture, “This is the tree that we sat by on one of our dates. The one where a bird pooped on you,” You laughed and slightly hit his shoulder, “I can’t believe you put that there.”
“How could I not? It was an amazing memory. Anyway, this is a drawing of our matching bracelets, I didn’t want to paint it because I thought it would ruin it, so it’s a bit plain.” You shook your head, “No it’s beautiful.” He turned it to the final piece.
“This is a picture of us, or a silhouette of us. We’re watching the lanterns fly up into the beautiful sky together.” You felt a tear drop fall from your eye, “Aw crap what the fuck? Why am I crying?” You giggled and quickly tried wiping away the tears with your hands as Minghao laughed beside you.
He put down his lantern and pulled you in closer to him, “Why are you crying though, baby?” You sniffed, “Because this is a celebration for you, and I feel like I should’ve painted something beautiful for you.” You kissed your forehead softly, “I don’t care what you paint baby, as long as I’m here with you, it doesn’t matter.”
“I kinda don’t want to release that one, it’s too beautiful.” He looked at you with a pout, “but I painted the future.”
You laughed, checking your phone, “Okay fine. It’s 7:10, we should light it up now.”
You both got up, lanterns in your hands. Grabbing a lighter, you lit yours and then Minghao’s, “Ready YN?” You held the hand that he held out, “I feel like I’m in high school musical,” he laughed, squeezing your hand, “Keep it PG, we do not makeout in public.”
“Okay,” You rolled your eyes with a smile, “On the count of three.” You both gazed into each other’s eyes, “1. 2. 3.”
You both let go of the lanterns and saw them slowly float into the sun-kissed sky. You felt Minghao release your hand before hearing jazz music begin to play and feeling his arms wrap around your waist, swaying softly to the music.
“Of course jazz music.” You heard him chuckle behind you, “Well, you can’t blame me, it’s a perfect time for it.” You smiled and leaned more into his embrace.
“Did you like the date?” He hummed in response, his chin on your shoulder, “It was perfect. I loved it a lot, thank you for making this special for me.”
“Of course. It’s, well almost your big day after all.” You turned around, placing your hands on his shoulders and his on your waist. “Happy Birthday my love,” He smiled at you, heart filled with love and happiness as he looked into your eyes more. He leaned in and placed a soft kiss to your lips, taking your breath away. You would never get tired of this feeling.
Pulling away, you smiled at each other before he looked up, “We should take a picture.” He took out his phone from his pocket, pausing the music and switching on the camera. He held it at a low angle to get the lanterns in the picture, but also getting the sunset in the background.
“Say cheese!” Instead of smiling at the camera, you placed your lips on his cheek, him capturing the moment perfectly. “You sly person,” you giggled and quickly pecked his lips. You grabbed his phone and resumed the jazz music.
Hold out your hand, “I believe we were dancing earlier?” He gave you a smirk and took your hand into his before pulling you closer, the two of you watching the sunset and dancing slowly to the sound of jazz.

Haha its fine! Im book anon for a reason so take all the time you need! Before I start, I wanna apologize for the possible asks you got about the merch and hybe in general. I didn't intend to cause stress and need to be careful bdjahdsj so slap me with a fish!
Onto the ask! But agreed, I mean before the big kpop boom we saw, this was very common. Build a decent fanbase and then move to Japan or China. (Of course sometimes you see INSTANT movement in other countries but that depends on the company and such but you know what I mean) but since we do have the more global kpop era, we may see more companies do America which isn't a bad thing. It makes sense buisness wise so they will jump on it after debut or something. Thus I don't see it a bad thing for kpop groups to promote in America because hey, if in Korea they do sell western artist music who also tour there, kpop groups can also do the same ya know?
Now onto the hybe comment, I will try not to speak too much on it so I will try to summarize. I think my theory is due with merch from their main artist, they think maybe it could work with svt which maybe could but svt has a different fanbase so throwing on random merch won't make fans really want to buy (not saying some won't which kudos to you! As a fan you are allowed to consume what you please except not be a bad apple about it) so thus like the infamous water bottles which was done for bts, they thought why not do it for svt because bts fans sold it out apparently for a 2nd wave of it being sold again. (Which to this day idk why someone in the hybe team thought this was smart. Like...this is just in bad taste imo) I do wanna agree that it appears that hybe doesn't seem to have a proper art team for svt because while sometimes wild, I do know for their main artist they do have thoughtful merch based around say an album concept I recall. Kf course they will make mistakes i.e. the water bottles. I do wish it can improve because even though it is capitalism, I think fans do want decent merch. We have seen interesting ideas like svt making their own magazine and selling it lol. Of course it is hard to please because some fans want subtle merch ideas while others don't mind the vibrant pastel colors we got or some want wild ideas like svt figurines or something. Overall I hope I didn't drag this too much as I just wanted to respond back to you, I agree with many points you said so yeah cx I say let's also wait as this is barely what, a year or even less of svt being under hybe properly. Especially when hybe had its rebranding and expanding so things are being changed, I know fans are worried about this which is valid but let's not panic just yet. Let's come back in a year to this and see what has improved and what hasn't. (OK but peldis sold the boys rings!? :o since when!? I haven't heard of this actually, when did this happen if I may ask?)
Oof yeah sadly with streaming, many view "oh you don't stream it means you aren't a fan" when isn't the case (which is why I personally don't like when certain companies also do "listening parties" which seems a bit ???) I do remember this popped up big in 2017 but many fans called it out so it quiet down a bit. Like we didn't see it so often where fans were causing problems over it so idk why this returned nor what the cause of it was.
But thank you!! It really was a nice closing chapter, I think when I have personal stuff settled I will try maybe get a new bunny? And oohh congrats on the album! (Note to hybe or pledis. Please make the us store a more common thing, it makes things so much easier! Am happy it was at your place quick so kudos to the us store. Oohh wonderful choices! I think for many fans anyone or heaven's cloud seems to be the popular picks? For me, I may have to say game boi or heaven's cloud as well! Those songs make me just so happy? Like game boy is just so creative with the way it was made. As a video game nerd, it is perfection. I could make an essay about this song lol and heaven's cloud is just...wow. I feel so at ease with the song, comfortable and soothed. Like you are on a cloud lol. Also that is totally fine! Rtl was a grower for me (I blame the mv, it didn't do the song jusitice) but it is a bop and can't stop humming the chorus at random moments. Overall a great summer album. Just imagine any of these songs performed live ndjansns
lol don't feel too bad about it! honestly they weren't that bad + i can always delete asks if i really don't want to answer them, i just always get a bit paranoid that things will get out of hand so i may end up getting more serious in those situations OTL
and yeah i agree! i don't think it's a bad thing for groups to promote in the US, as you said, it's similar to groups expanding their fanbase by promoting in china or Japan or other asian counties, it makes sense from a business standpoint and there's nothing wrong with promoting in different countries. i just wish that some kpop stans understood that western and/or global popularity is a bonus and not a requirement for success. while they do have a global appeal, at the end of the day kpop's main audience is korea, and groups that achieve popularity in Korea have already achieved what they set out to do. but there's unfortunately a decent chunk of international fans that prioritize western popularity over anything and can't fathom that a group can be successful without being popular in the US. or they just talk as if their groups western achievements are more valuable than their Korean ones and to me that starts to look like xenophobia... (sorry if I'm repeating anything i said before in regards to this, i feel like i am but I'm too lazy to go back and check OTL)
since you sent this ask hybe released the caratland merch which was actually really nice, and today they also announced that there will be birthday merch for cheol (and presumably all members from here on out). we don't know what the bday merch is yet but some carats are already a bit miffed that hybe is even thinking to capitalize off the boys' birthdays... i bring both of these up bc i feel like the caratland merch proves your point that hybe is capable of designing good and thoughtful merch, and honestly this does reassure me a bit. but on the other hand them trying to capitalize off the boys' birthdays also proves that they still don't fully understand carats wants and priorities as a fanbase. which, if the future of seventeens merch is gonna be quality merch with some shitty cash grabs in between, i can live with that. I'm not gonna like the shitty cash grabs and i think it would be in our best interest as a fandom to not go crazy buying those shitty cash grabs, because if we don't then hybe will hopefully stop wasting their time and put more effort into /quality/. but if we get quality merch for important events like concerts and fanmeetings, i can live with it. as you said too, it can take time for these things to change, and we should all recognize that. but at the same time merch specifically is market driven, so i don't think it's a bad thing if people like @ hybe on twt about any bad merch that comes out in order to drive that change dhfkfj
but also on a maybe more fun note in regards to the merch... with some carats being upset about the bday merch i was thinking about what hybe could do for merch instead that would fill the niche of being at intervals throughout the year that could still be limited time drops but that carats wouldn't be mad at them capitalizing on and then i was like duh! they could literally just make merch off of going seventeen! honestly I'm surprised they haven't yet. maybe not merch for every episode, but they could have a line of permanent gose merch w a basic logo or something and then release limited time merch themed around some of the more popular episodes at various points during the year. I'm actually kind of obsessed with this idea now and for once I'm like hybe/pledis please capitalize off of this!! dhfkgjg
they never actually sold them, but for seventeens 3rd anniversary, pledis planned to sell replicas of seventeens rings. after it was announced carats were understandably upset since the boys worked so hard for those. luckily pledis heard carats concerns and put out an apology and didn't manufacture them in the end. I'm glad that at least they listened to carats even though it would have been better if they had never considered the idea in the first place :(
oh yeah listening parties are definitely just another marketing technique to boost streams. i think like with a lot of marketing techniques, it just depends on the execution. imo if they're done well it can be a good way for fans to connect while listening to an artists music, which is mutually beneficial for the company, but i can totally see a situation where companies get greedy and push it too hard. i don't know anything about what happened with them back in the day, but if you're curious why SVT had listening parties leading up to your choice, they were set up by UMG, the American distributor that SVT worked with for this cb. in this case the listening parties weren't just for boosting streams, but also likely for UMG to gauge interest. SVT isn't officially signed to a US label yet, but UMG's data from the listening parties could be used to show US labels whether or not there's enough interest for them to be signed. which if that happens we'd almost definitely see a more permanent US shop!
ahh yes, once you're ready I'm sure it would be great to have another bunny companion 🥺
yes! heavens cloud and gam3 bo1 are both such feel good songs! my sister actually added heavens cloud to their Spotify after i made them listen to the album in the car dhfkf it's now one of 6 kpop songs they have saved (4 of which are SVT... my influence 💅 DHFJFH) I'm certain we'll see some of the songs from your choice at caratland this year, hopefully it's all of them but I'd especially like to see heavens cloud and wave 👀 I'm also still crossing my fingers for an i wish live performance bc i can't believe my favorite SVT b-side is one of the TWO tracks they haven't performed live not including the new album (the other one being network love, which i would also like to see live!)

NCT.
The only mafia group that was superior to your own. Your boss was determined to take them down, but they were good, too smart to infiltrate and too large to eliminate completely. They had subunits across the country and there were rumours of them having a team in China.
Your boss Mr Kim, you still didn’t know his actual name, had been trying to find a way to get a man on the inside for months but to no avail. You had also been thinking.
Running a club gave you a surprising amount of time to think. When Mr kim had approved your proposal of a club that multiple gangs could go to, he probably thought you would have a lot more work on your hands, but you didn’t really have that many issues.
The club had been your idea and it serves its purpose. It was ‘supposedly’ independent of all gangs. No one knew it was linked to the gang, not even the gang itself. The dancers you employed and the security staff all answer to you. Nobody except a select few knew who you answered to, so no one suspected you were a member of SVT.
SVT was one of the larger gangs, but only a select few operated undercover in the club. When the other members would come in, they would pretend not to know the undercover team as anyone more than workers there to serve them, as to not arouse the suspicions of the other patrons, who would likely belong to rival gangs.
The dancers were good at their jobs, and you paid them well, made sure to look out for them and in return they told you everything their customers told them. It was amazing what secrets men would spill with the slightest glimpse of skin. You had a large variety of dancers under your control, you could cater to many tastes which is what made your club so popular.
Most of your workers don’t know about the gang, they think that they just have to ‘keep tabs on all the gangs so we can ensure a peaceful business’ which wasn’t technically a lie.
Only you, Seungcheol, Mingyu and Mr Kim knew the clubs real purpose, which is what made it the perfect operation. If no one knew what they were actually doing, they are honest and therefore not suspicious to outsiders.
The club was a place for rival gang members to meet with each other for negotiations, they thought of  it as neutral territory, no one suspected that you were watching and feeding information back to one of the largest gangs in the country.
You had to be selective with what you returned to your superior, if the gang started acting on all leads it would become suspicious. The clubs main purpose, was to fund the gang and keep an ear to the ground on other gang business, make sure no one was plotting anything against SVT.
Most of the time the information was just some gun deals or drug imports. Nice to know, but nothing of immense value to the group.
Despite this you were always on the lookout for a lead that would reap big rewards for the gang. Until then you were quite happy for the change of scenery from field missions.
You enjoyed being out in the field, but after your last mission and the toll it took on you physically, you needed time to rest. You had been resting for the past few months and were itching for your net to catch something bigger than a minor drug deal.
That's why, when you were watching the CCTV in your office and saw that three members of NCT had walked in and occupied a table at the back of the club, your eyes glued themselves to the screen.
You knew all of their faces.
After all your entire business was dealing in information. You had done your research on SVT’s main rivals. So there was no doubt in your mind that the men on the screen were Johnny, Jaehyun and Doyoung.
The three were high up in NCT’s rank, not at the top but high enough for them to be worth your time.
You quickly turned on the mic that was hidden in the wall of their booth, eager to listen in on this conversation.
-
“Don’t look at me like that Doyoung?”
“I don’t see why we had to come here” Doyoung sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was looking at the table, his gaze so intense it could burn hole in the center.
“Well, get used to it, if I have to stay in the area for some stupid stakeout, I’m going to stay somewhere I can enjoy myself” Johnny states, relaxing into the soft leather seat.
“We have our own club you can go to whenever you want” Doyoung states.
“Yeah on the other side of the city, this one is not gang controlled so what’s the problem. Anyway you hate our club”
“I hate all clubs” Doyoung rolls his eyes before walking over to the bar.
Jaehyun and Johnny turned their attention to the stage, watching intently as the dancers performed. They didn’t seem to be saying much so you turned your attention to Doyoung who had  moved over to sit at the otherwise empty bar. It was like he was trying not to look at any of the women who were parading round with little clothes on. You noted he didn’t seem interested in any of the shirtless waiters either.
When Stephanie was serving him his drink he was looking anywhere but her body.
It was an unusual sight to see. The men that came in here were usually desperate to give the girls their undivided attention but Doyoung looked like he wanted to look anywhere else.
When Stephanie handed him his drink his eyes did not once stray from her face to her chest. She had a beautiful figure, one most men would drool over. Which is why Doyoung’s reluctance to look at it intrigued you.
You knew that he had never been seen to be with a woman, unless he was keeping them hidden from the gang scene. Given the industry you were in it wouldn’t surprise you. Having outsiders you cared about put them in danger.
You knew women threw themselves at him all the time with the intention of sleeping with him, however he would ignore all of them. Maybe he was just traditional or maybe he wasn’t interested in sex, which was why he hated strip clubs like yours.
It got you thinking. Maybe he didn’t like the clubs because the stipulation was that they were abusive to women. The girls were trapped in contracts that forced them to display their bodies for next to none of the money they bring in. You knew NCT’s club worked under that business model. It was the case for most of the clubs in the city, but not yours.
Your girls are free to leave whenever they want and you don’t specify the outfits they wear. While most chose to stick to fancy lingerie sets of bras and panties, some of your girls wore corsets that covered a little more. You wanted them to be comfortable and dance because they wanted to, not because their fathers owed money, or they witnessed the wrong thing.
Although Doyoung didn’t need to know that.
Maybe he was too gentlemanly for his perception of strip clubs, maybe he had a girlfriend hidden away. Or maybe, he just wasn't attracted to women, which was fine but for the plan you were formulating in your mind, you were hoping for the first option. As you put together the puzzle pieces in your mind, it dawned on you that this could be your chance to get close to NCT.
You called Seungcheol into your office.
He was your stand in. To the outside eyes of your patrons he was the one in charge. You usually monitored the night from your office. All your employees knew you were in charge, but you had come to the decision to have Seungcheol be the frontman.
Gang Members were more likely to respect him than they were you. You didn’t exactly look the most intimidating most of the time. Although your skills meant you could be quite deadly if you wished.
When he walked the floor he had a stern look of someone not to be messed with. He was big on security, and quick to jump in if one of the girls was being troubled.
-
“I have an idea about how to infiltrate NCT” you start once he had shut the door.
“What is it?” He looks intrigued as he goes to sit on the couch in front of your desk.
“Doyoung”
“The guy sat at the bar who has shown no interest in any of the girls?” he laughs “They don’t work on him”
“Exactly” you smile
“I’m confused”
“He sees this place to be the typical club, a seedy place that exploits women into making more money for rich men”
“How does that help seduce him?”
“We aren't going to seduce him. At least not in the conventional way”
“He’ll be suspicious of anyone trying to get close to him.” Seungcheol continued to look at you with a confused expression, unsure of where you could possibly be going with this.
“So we get him to get close to me”
“How?”
“By saving me from this club, after all I am a mere damsel in distress”  you pout making your eyes look as big and innocent as possible as if to prove your point. You relax your face before continuing “Nobody here has seen me, they don’t know who I am. I will stay behind the bar and put on an act, even if he’s not looking he will hear what is going on.” You start to think out loud as the plan formulates more clearly in your mind.
“I need you to sell the asshole boss thing. Not all at once though, it needs to be discreet to the rest of the club, since we have regulars in tonight, but obvious to him. He needs to think that I am trapped here against my will. Switch the mic on the bar so that we can keep our stories straight. I heard they are staking out a shop over the road. So we have one, possibly two nights to plant this seed. If he takes the bait we can move from there. ”
“And if he doesn’t bite?”
“Then we haven’t lost anything. He doesn’t know about the gang or that this was a plan, it just meant I was wrong about his whole traditional gentleman vibe”
“Okay” Seungcheol agreed. Not that he had a choice. You were the boss after all.
You walk over to the costume wardrobe pulling out a red and black corset with a small lace skirt attached. The skirt came to above mid thigh but with the girls working tonight you would easily be wearing the most reserved outfit. You walk behind the screen so that Seungcheol couldn’t see you change.
“We need to move now. My character. Shy, insecure about my body but I've been forced to wear this corset that I find too revealing. I have to work behind the bar because we are short staffed. You made me wear the corset to hide my ‘un-appealing to the eye body’. I am usually a cleaner. You took me in because my father was a drug addict and needed the money. He disappeared before he repaid his debts so now i’m stuck here”
You walk around, now dressed in your outfit for the evening. You pull on some tights and some heels and make your way to the door.
“Message the bar ‘code blue’. Stephanie can go home for the day. When Mingyu arrives for his shift tell him he’s acting tonight, get him to come over and order a drink from me, make him be an asshole about it, then he can hang around the front for a bit then leave to monitor the CCTV.”
Seungcheol nods in understanding.
The two of you leave the office and walk downstairs into the private hallway. Seungcheol takes out his phone and sends a message to the till on the bar. All of the staff know the routines and codes. Mingyu had originally assigned more inventive code names but everyone kept getting confused so reluctantly he had opted for the colour system.
You look at the CCTV monitor on the wall.  You see Stephanie looking at the screen of the till. She types some stuff in and closes the till up. Then she wipes the counter quickly as to look like she is just about to leave. Finally she naturally leaves the bar.
Doyoung doesn’t notice, not looking up from his phone the entire time. There was no doubt that they were staking out one of the nearby buildings from inside the club. It seemed like Doyoung was the only one doing the actual monitoring, as the other two seemed to have their attention focused elsewhere.
The hallway you were standing in had a door that lead to behind the bar. So you knew that once you opened it he would be able to hear you despite the music that filled the club. It tended to be quieter towards the back of the club where the bar was.
“It’s now or never” Seungcheol nods to you. His hand grips the handle as he opens the door.
-
“I can’t I’ve never done it before” your voice panicked.
“If I had any other option I wouldn’t put you out there, your figure is hardly going to entice any customers, but we are short and at least behind the bar they can’t see so much of you.” disgust fills his voice.
“Okay” you make your voice small.
You hunch your shoulders over and shuffle out the door to behind the bar. You walk over to the till, being sure not to look up from the floor. Once you reach the till you make sure to push a few buttons that made it look like you didn’t know how to use it properly.
You continued to look at the floor as you held onto the skirt of your corset, trying to pull it down as much as you could.
You could feel Doyoung’s eyes on you,but you didn't look at him.
This could work if you played it right.
-
“Excuse me” Mingyu’s voice was almost unrecognisable in his condescending tone.
Mingyu liked playing this role, sometimes a little too much. You hoped for the sake of the operation that he didn’t overdo it. He was usually security, but whenever you needed someone to act like an asshole customer, he was your man.
You timidly looked up at him.
“S-sorry what can I get you?” your eyes dart around, making sure not to look him in the eyes.
“Whiskey” he grumbles.
You nod before grabbing a glass with shaking hands and pouring his drink. You can hear the bottle clinking against the glass as your hands trembled, you made sure to spill some on the counter for good measure.
“For Fuck sake” Mingyu groans, rolling his eyes and tapping his fingers against the bar impatiently.
You give him his drink, he hands you the money, which you drop on the floor before hastily picking it up and putting it in the till. Mingyu takes his drink and walks past Doyoung, murmuring something to himself about how the club must be taking in strays of the street nowadays.
You take the cloth from the sink and begin wiping down the counters. You could feel his eyes on you the whole time. You had to choose the right moment to engage with him. This operation depends on it.
“Excuse me” you hear a soft voice. They were the same words but they sounded completely different coming from him. Doyoung’s voice was hesitant, as if you were a small animal that if he spoke too loud, would get frightened and run away.
This plan could work.
-
Doyoung’s POV
“Excuse me” I say softly
For the first time since she came to the bar she looked at me. Her eyes did nothing to hide her fear.
“Y-yes” she stutters.
“Could I have another glass of wine please?”
She nods her head, grabbing another wine class and pouring me a glass of white wine.
I don’t even like white wine. But I still thanked her once she gave it to me.
“Do you usually work at the bar?”
She shakes her head “I’m a cleaner but we are short staffed tonight, so here I am” she smiles sadly.
She goes back to cleaning the sides, it seemed to comfort her. Her arms were not trembling as much as she ran the cloth over the marble counter. The bar was already spotless but she still kept cleaning.
She kept looking over to the side to one of the corridors with a worried expression. A quick look and I saw the owner leaning against the wall. She was clearly trying to keep herself busy, stacking glasses and cleaning the sides, stopping every so often to adjust her corset and pull her skirt down. She looked as if she could not be more uncomfortable. The sight alone was heartbreaking.
I continued to drink the wine that she had given me. It tasted horrible but I pressed on. She had forgotten to charge me for it anyway.
She didn’t look like she wanted to talk. She looked like she wanted her shift to be over so she could go home and crawl inside a blanket. I kept watching her for a while, completely neglecting the stakeout I was meant to be monitoring. I’m sure Yuta could handle it on his own from the van around the corner
She would serve the customers that came to the bar, which were not many. Most of them were too engrossed in the ‘entertainment’ to bother to get their own drinks. Most of them were civil towards her but were clearly annoyed by her inexperience, shy persona and the fact that her cleavage was not on full display for them to gawk at.
I wonder how she ended up here.
She said she was a cleaner, which certainly isn’t the most glamorous of jobs but judging by how uncomfortable she is in her current attire, it seems she would much prefer to be cleaning the bathroom. She seemed so out of place here. A shy innocent girl stood behind the bar of a strip club.
A loud crash interrupted my thoughts.
“Shit” I hear her curse to herself.
I look over the bar, there is glass everywhere, the remains of several wine glasses, shattered on the floor.
She panickedly looked over to the corridor.  Eyes widening as she sees her boss walking towards her at a brisk pace.
“For fuck sake. What do you think you are doing you stupid bitch?” he whisper shouts as he approaches her
“Sorry. I’m so sorry” she apologises frantically to him as he marches around the bar. She flinches away, trying to get as far away as possible from him without causing a scene. “You are so fucking useless. Clean this shit up. You’re paying for the damages.”
“Yes sir. Sorry sir”  she bows her head submissively.
The man turns to me “I’m sorry for her incompetence and her appearance. We were desperate for staff tonight. I hope you understand.” he bows his head to me.
Scumbag.
Once he had disappeared. She bent down to start cleaning up the mess.
I don’t know what came over me but before I knew it I was behind the bar helping her pick glass shards off the floor and put them in the bucket.
“You should be careful of your feet” I warn as I notice her heels, they were black and consisted of lots of straps. Her feet were exposed, and the shoes clearly didn’t fit her properly. She was no doubt made to wear them at the last minute.
“You don’t need to help me sir. Cleaning is one thing I can do” she smiles sadly to herself as she grabs a dustpan and begins sweeping up the smaller shards of glass.
“I want to help” I smile. For the first time this evening she looks at my face properly, not a subtle glance then nervously averting her eyes. Instead she looked at me and the fear in her eyes seemed to disappear.  Being this close to her, I noticed the soft features of her face. Her smooth skin and her beautiful eyes. She deserved so much better than this shitty place.
“Thank you.”She smiles appreciatively.
“You’re not like the guys the girls tell me stories about”  she mutters to herself, focusing on the floor.
“Thank you.”
Her eyes widened as she realised I had heard her. Her expression was cute.
“You’re not like most of the girls here either” I smile.
“I know” she mutters sadly, pulling her skirt down again and attempting to hide her face with her hair and looked towards the floor yet again.
“Hey.” I say to get her attention.
She looks up at me. “I meant it as a compliment” I smile, pushing her hair away from her face. She seemed confused by the action but didn’t shy away from it.
Once the floor was clear I stood up, holding out my hand to help her stand. She took it, stumbling slightly in her heels. I steadied her, letting her go when I was sure she had caught her footing. She backs away from me, going to wash her hands in the sink.
I return to my seat at the bar. Thinking over the previous events.
I wasn’t sure how I was feeling. Women never seem to catch my attention eventhough most of the time it is what they desperately crave. Although this woman seems like she would rather have nobody’s attention, yet she has complete control over mine.
“What is your name?” I find myself asking
“Y/N” she mutters.
“Why do you work here Y/N?”
She sighs “My father was a drug addict. He borrowed money from the owner and couldn’t pay it back. My father left the country to escape his debts. Mr Choi found me and told me I had to work off what my father owed him. He said I could clean since I would deter customers if I were front of house. At least my father only owed money to him and not some gang or something. It could be worse” she says dismissively.
I was about to ask her more questions when another woman walked over to the bar.
“Y/N what are you doing out here?” she asks in concern.
“We were short so I had to cover” she sighs.
“Okay, I’ll take the bar now you can go. I think Mr Choi wants to see you.”
“Ok.Thank you” she hugs the woman, clearly relieved she doesn’t have to stay behind the bar any longer. She leaves the bar and begins to walk reluctantly over to the corridor.
“Y/N wait” I shout. Following her quickly. I caught up to her as she turns to look at me in confusion.
“I want to speak to your boss”
“W-why” she mutters nervously.
“I just need to speak to him”
“Oh, okay”  she says nervously leading me to the door on the far end of the corridor.
She knocks gently.
“Come in” I hear his gruff voice from inside.
She timidly pushes the door open, before she can enter I step in front of her. She looks at me in confusion. “Wait here” I enter the room shutting the door behind me.
“Who are you?” the man behind the desk stands up. Clearly surprised to see me.
“I have come to talk about Y/N”
“I am terribly sorry if she has caused you any trouble, rest assured she will be disciplined accordingly”
I scrunch my face up in disgust.
“That is not what I came to talk about”
He looks confused for a second.
“How much does her father owe you?”
“Her remaining total is $20,000. Why?”
“I’m paying it for her”
“What? Why would you do that? I must say she is a frigid bitch. If it’s a woman you’re after I recommend choosing another one” he chuckles.
He barely had time to blink before I was in front of him with my hand around his throat.
“Now you listen here. You will never talk about her in such a way again” I tighten the grip on his neck. He squirms as he struggles for breath.
“I will pay you what you are owed and I will be taking her with me. If you so much as look in her direction again I will not hesitate to kill you.”
The man struggles against me, desperately trying to break free, but it was futile for him
“Am I understood?”  I ask sternly
He nods his head frantically as he claws at my hands.
I let him go. He crumples to the floor, gasping heavily.
“I will send a colleague with your payment tomorrow. She is leaving tonight and never coming back.”  I leave him on the floor as I walk out of the room.
-
She is sitting leaning against the wall opposite the door in front of me as I shut the door once again.
“Did you hear all that?” I ask.
“No. Mr Choi doesn't like it when people listen to his private conversations”
I hold my hand out to help her stand. She gladly takes it and pushes herself up off the floor.
“You’re free” I smile at her.
“What?” She looks at me with so much confusion on her face.
“You don’t owe him anything anymore. You can leave here tonight and never come back.” I explain.
“What do you mean?”
“I’ve paid off your debt”
“But why would you do that?”
“You deserve better than this place”
She looks around, her eyebrows scrunching as she tries to process the information. I feel my phone ringing in my back pocket. Looking at the screen.
Johnny.
“Hello” I sigh
“Where are you? we have to get back to the van” Johnnys voice sounds urgent
“I’ll meet you there”
“Hurry up or Yuta will get annoyed and you know he will tell Taeyong that we left the van”
I hang up
“I have to leave now. Get your things and go home” I take out a pen from my jacket pocket. “Here is my number call me tomorrow okay” I write my personal number down on the soft skin of her hand.
“O-Okay” she nods. I offer her a small smile, squeezing her hand in reassurance before turning to walk away.
“W-Wait” she calls. I turn back. She had hardly spoken more than a mumble all night so her voice took me by surprise.
“I don’t even know your name”
“Doyoung”  I call back to her with a smile.
-
Y/N’s pov
I stared in disbelief as he walked away. After a few minutes the door in front of me opened. Seungcheol leant against the doorway with a sly smirk on his face. “They’ve left the building”
I follow him into his office chuckling as I take a seat on the sofa. “The plan was much more effective than I could imagine.”
“Where do we go from here?”  he asks.
“I can’t be here too much longer, no doubt he’s keeping an eye out for me leaving. I also can’t come back here, it would be too suspicious. For now you’re in charge of the club. I’ll call Mr Kim once I get home and tell him what is going on. ”
“Ok, be sure to look after yourself.” Seungcheol joins me on the sofa wrapping his arms around me tightly. “I’ll miss you”
“Me too.”  I smiled sadly, gently tracing the red marks that were dominantly present around his neck. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I'm fine. The fucker has a tight grip on him though”  He holds me for a moment before letting me go.
I go back to my office, changing quickly into a pair of jeans, a shirt and a jacket before grabbing my purse and phone and leaving the club.
I look around the street outside the back entrance to the club. I see a grey van parked by the side of the road. I pretend not to notice it as I walk past. Knowing that Doyoung was probably watching from there.
Instead I kept my head down and walked quickly. As it was incredibly late and not safe for a woman to be walking home on her own. So I pretended I wasn’t trained and highly lethal in hand to hand combat and shuffled home at a brisk pace with my phone held tightly in my hands.
-
After showering and climbing into bed I grab my phone and call Mr Kim.
“Yes” I hear his cold voice on the other side of the line. Mr Kim was never one for unnecessary chit chat.
“Hello Mr Kim. I have an update on infiltrating NCT”
“And what is that?” for the first time since I met the elusive leader, his voice seemed to have some sort of interest in it.
“Three members entered the club today sir. With the help of Seungcheol I have managed to get Kim Doyoung to approach me. He believes he has saved me from my life of torment at the hands of Seungcheol, I am to call him tomorrow.”
“Interesting. He has no idea as to who you are?”
“No he doesn’t, I am certain. My plan is to continue my character in the hopes he lets his guard down. The way he acted tonight could suggest romantic, or at least protective intentions, if this is the case we have our way in.”
“Good Work. Starting now. You are to have no contact with anyone from the gang, including me, until such a time comes where you have information that we can use. This infiltration will take time, but I am confident in you that you will be successful.”
“Yes sir. Thank you sir”
The line went dead.
The mission to get Kim Doyoung to fall in love with me was truly underway.

You were drunk. You should have been more careful, you hadn’t even planned on drinking at all that night. But you weren’t careful and you did drink. A lot. When he walked into the party with his girlfriend you had to drink. It was mandatory for survival.
Vernon and you had been best friends for as long as you could remember. He was everything to you, you’d never depended on any relationship the way you’d depended on his. So when she showed up in his life and you dropped on his priorities list, it devastated you. You couldn’t even bring yourself to speak to him anymore, you’d been so hurt. You’d thought you’d meant more to him. He’d definitely meant more to you.
Disgust and vodka filled your gut as you continued to watch them from across the room. Even during your conversations with other friends you couldn’t pry your eyes from the giant smile plastered on his face. Or the way she refused to take her hand off of his arm despite the lazerbeams you were staring into her perfect tiny fingers. You could hear her glorious, beautiful laughter over the music and talking. You rolled your eyes as they had the absolute time of their lives.
Waiting until she walked away to use the restroom, you took your shot. You strolled, well stumbled, your way over to him and leaned against his side, your lips met just below his ear and you slurred out, “She’s not good enough for you.”
Vernon pulled away looking surprised to even see you at all. “Oh, hey. Didn’t realize you were actually talking to me again.”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” You asked, leaning your shoulder against the wall.
He turned so that he was facing you. It felt like the first time you had his full attention in a while. You ignored the goosebumps that traveled over your skin. “I haven’t heard from you in weeks. Months now? Not really since I started dating-“
You waved your hand to dismiss the comment. “That’s not true you’ve just been too busy for me.”
He looked mad. His jaw clenched as he looked down at you and shook his head, “Bullshit. We’ve been best friends for eighteen years. I’ve never been too busy for you. If you’d wanted it I would have made the time, but you didn’t want it.”
“Oh please forgive me.” You dripped with sarcasm, “If by making time for me you mean graciously allowing me to third wheel your dates with...ugh I can’t even say her name. Anyway, when I realized that the only time I was going to get with you was going to be shared time I lost interest.”
“Why do you hate her so much? What do you care if she’s not good enough for me?” He asked looking around to see if anyone was listening to the two of you argue. “Who are you to even judge that?”
“Your friend, I thought.”
“I don’t get it. She’s always been nice to you. You guys have so much in common. It doesn’t make sense why you can’t be friends with her or even just cordial. At the very least for my sake. She’s a part of my life, y/n. I’d like for both of you to be. ” he said clearly frustrated.
You sighed deeply. If you were ever going to do it, it would have to be now. Even in your hazy state of mind you knew if you waited too long he might really fall in love with her and if he did… If he did it would be over. He was leaning against the wall, his head tilted slightly as he watched you. He could tell you wanted to say something so he waited patiently for you to find the words.
“I don’t hate her.” you started slowly, “It doesn’t even have anything to do with her. I’d feel the same way about anyone because I don’t think you should be with just anyone. It should be me. You should be with me.”
You watched the gulp move down his throat. The way he watched you. You could practically see the cogs turning in his mind. Did you mean it or was it just the vodka? How serious could he really take you, clearly drunk and emotional. If he told you about this moment tomorrow when your head was clear would you just groan in embarrassment? That had to be it. You weren’t thinking straight. He’d hate himself for taking advantage of it. Even if this was all he’d really wanted.
“Jesus, you are trashed. Who let you get this bad? DK?” He sighed deciding to ignore it and move on. He grabbed your elbow, pulling you through the throng of people, “You need some fresh air.”
You stayed quiet as he dragged you through the apartment. Out of the living room and into the kitchen where he grabbed several bottles of water and then back into the living room towards the widow that opened to the fire escape. He stood you next to the window as he charmed the couple outside into coming back in, and then helped you out onto the grated metal and into the cool night air.
“Drink.” He demanded, holding out an open bottle of water.
“What do you care if I’m drunk?” You asked quietly from the step you’d sat down on.
“I care because I’m your friend. I thought.” he smirked as you glared up at him for using your words against you.
He stood there quietly, watching you as you drank the whole bottle before passing you another. An easy twenty minutes passed as the two of you stayed out there in silence. Just the muted sound of the music and chatter from inside and the sound of traffic on the street below. The water and the air cleared your head and suddenly you were replaying your words over in your head. It wouldn’t have been so embarrassing if he’d even acknowledged what you said. When you looked up at him he was chewing on his bottom lip. He was looking at you but you could tell he was deep in thought.
“I miss you.” you said leaning your head against the metal railing.
He nodded, “I miss you too.”
Standing up, you sighed, “I meant what I said. I love you and I think you should be with me.”
“I had been in love with you for my entire life and you decided to love me back when I finally gave up.” he scoffed in disbelief of this entire night's conversation.
“I loved you... I love you.” You corrected, “I have for years.”
“Yeah like a friend.” He said “Or a brother.”
“No.” You shook your head, “More than a friend. Definitely not like a brother.”
“What?” He asked looking genuinely shocked. “Are you serious or are you still drunk?”
You frowned, “I can be both.”
“You’re not serious.” He decided, “There’s no way.”
“I’ve wanted to kiss you every time I’ve seen you for the last eighteen years. I want what she has. I want to be the hand you reach for. I want to be the one that keeps all your secrets. Your strength during hard times. And someone you share all your good times with.” You admitted, “Don’t try to tell me I’m not in love with you.”
He sat down on the step you’d previously occupied, “Every time we’ve seen each other for the last eighteen years. That’s a lot. You have a lot of restraint.”
“Well I thought my choices were restraint or ruining our friendship with my selfish desire.” you shrugged.
With a groan he ran his hands over his face and moved his fingers through his hair, as he tried to process. “Why didn’t you ever tell me?”
“Did you ever tell me?” You countered.
“I don’t know what to do.” He sighed and looked up at you. The look in his eyes was pleading, “What do I do?”
“Choose.” You answered, kneeling in front of him, and just as desperate. “Choose me.”

Doctor!AU Junhui

happy carat day~ the world’s sweetest, brightest, funniest boy, hope people see the other sides of him that i do ;-;
tw// mentions of mild domestic problems

2.3k | Fluff | Bullet | Not proofread
Mascot of the pediatric ward
Loves loves loves kids
The kids love him too, Dr. Wen is literally doctor of the year if you ask any of these kids
He’s not the only doctor in the whole ward, but he’s the most loved by everyone--the kids, the parents, nurses, techs, scribes, anyone and everyone who’s ever worked with him
And he’s loved for many reasons, Junhui has a way of getting kids to tell him many things
Treating children is a gift, they can’t always say what bothers them nor answer any medical questions. Their attention span is virtually nonexistent and they’re impatient, so what Junhui is able to do is truly a talent
Pediatric doctors must know how to create a non-threatening environment (even with sharp tools laying around) and ease their patients into a relaxed and cooperative state in order to treat them
Dr. Wen excels at his job
Speaks to the kids in this calm, innocent voice that ease their minds, all the kids not only listen to but also follow his words
Ever since Junhui was transferred to the pediatric ward, the amount of complaints from patients, parents, even nurses and doctors dropped exponentially
Bitter medicine? Dr. Wen has a way to get the kids to drink up
Homesick? He’s here to keep them company if he’s free
Everyone knows his skill is a talent, but he doesn’t think so. He’s just here because he likes children and hates seeing them in pain
The less patient there are in the ward, the happier he is, children shouldn’t be frequenting hospitals when they can spend their free time outside in the playground
Some kids get so attached to Junhui they wouldn’t go to bed if he didn’t personally come and say goodnight
One of the residents, Zhennan, brings his baby brother to work sometimes because he didn't have a babysitter, and little Haohao is so fond of Junhui he keeps leaving the playroom to ask for piggy-back rides and airplane rides from the doctor (here!)
Zhennan, sulking but trying his best to be nonchalant: he loves you more... that’s fine;; i guess
Junhui, holding Haohao on his shoulders: noooo please take him back i have to work :((
Goes to work in scrubs like all the attending doctors but,,, he looks Extra Good™
Obviously because of his blessed good looks, but also he just has this natural air of royalty
wears the white coat because the kids like to dig up candies in his front pockets (he always keeps them stocked)
Hair gelled back, forehead for days, bright eyes and a beautiful heart-shaped smile that lit up the entire ward
Honestly looks so expensive some days like he’s just in scrubs but the way he carries himself speaks a whole other story
People assume he probably drives an expensive sports car and owns a million dollar mansion but then they see him crouching down on the floor ruffling a kid’s hair and pinching his cheeks and they’re like… he’s just made of good old father material
Lowkey has a fanclub in the hospital
He kept to himself and doesn’t wander to the other wards often, except to visit Jihoon from ER or Wonwoo from Psych on consultation calls, but generally he’s in the pediatric ward or walking around doing his rounds on patients
Like most hospitals, people come to the nursery all the time to see babies and ease their stress
Let’s just say that recently more people have come for purposes besides looking at babies
Dr. Wen is so careful and gentle with his hands and words that the nurses ask him to administer shots to the crybabies when they’ve run out of options, and even though it’s not really his job, he likes to help out any way he can
Smiles a lot when he’s with the kids, a whole six feet something crawling on the ground, if he must, to communicate with them
There’s a no running policy in the hospital but the kids are an exception and so is Dr. Wen
He’s a cHILD
Will play tag with them if they asked because he wants them to spend their time like how they would in a playground with their peers
Has fallen multiple times catching kids or just plainly tripping over himself to prevent them from falling
Actually acts like a child sometimes that doctors and nurses take care of him with parental eyes
Nurse Seungkwan is always like, “doctor please don’t drop the child.”
Dr. Wen holding a kid from up top like, “don’t worry, he likes airplanes :D”
But Seungkwan knows how much Junhui treasures each and every patient, so he lets it slide...for now
It’s still a handful dealing with Junhui though poor Seungkwan someone get him a drink
You only know him from the rumors, something about a very handsome doctor from pediatric that loves playing with children, your colleagues visit that section of the hospital sometimes just to catch a glimpse of him
It’s really not your business, you were never gonna see him anyway since you work legals for the hospital, handling lawsuits and medical jurisdiction and whatnot
Until a case comes up that pertains to one of the outpatients the ER admitted
Apparently, after receiving emergency care, the patient snuck to the pediatric ward to see her son who was hospitalized at the time, but she didn’t have any visitation rights from the child’s father and thus the father sued the hospital for letting this happen
It’s a simple case and can easily be settled, but the child’s father was adamant about meeting the mother with the presence of the hospital’s legal team as well s an attending doctor, so here you both are
You thought words didn’t do Dr. Wen justice, you didn't think any doctor could look this handsome
Isn’t there another job title for someone born with those looks? Like actor, or model?
Junhui doesn’t look thrilled to be here and he’s a little jumpy, and at first you chalked it up to him feeling nervous, but then you noticed him glancing and smiling reassuringly at the little girl beside him... he was just worried for the child’s mental state
The meeting wasn’t pretty, at one point her parents were so heated in their argument that the child visibly recoiled, Junhui had to stop the parents and asked to be excused with the child
The meeting ended in a settlement, and you thought it could have been handled better without aggravating the little girl, but it wasn’t your place to speak so you held your tongue
It wasn’t Junhui’s place either, but he got angry regardless because his first priority is his patient’s wellbeing
You have to admit, it was a pleasant surprise compared to some of the doctors you’ve worked with who cared more about not getting sued
You thought he was a pretty great guy
Such a pity that this would probably be the last time you see him, right?
it’s not
Out of all the people to get snowed in with on a particularly late shift, it’s Dr. Wen from pediatrics
Just your luck that none of your friends were working a shift--Mingyu from dermatology dipped at noon when he heard about the snow storm, and Vernon from ortho was chilling at home on his off day
Just your luck that you decided to go sit outside the infant wards to wait it out, running straight into Dr. Wen who just got off work
And it’s not that you’re... awkward around Junhui, there just isn’t much to talk about between you two
You’ve met up a few times for lunch since you had mutual friends and had casually moved on to a first-name base, but you never really spent time alone with him
So you were somewhat surprised when he offered to wait with you instead of his other friends who were also snowed in
“It doesn’t look like it’ll stop soon, we might have to wait it out till morning.”
“Oh, well, at least I have company,” you smiled.
It was strange, you really don’t feel awkward with him as you usually would around others
Maybe it’s because he deals with kids, he seems so carefree and welcoming that the silence between you two is just comfortable
or maybe his pretty smile just puts you at ease
And it’s because of this easy space that you got to know him a lot more that day
You found out he became a doctor because of his little brother
He likes to cook sometimes, though he’s limited to basic midnight-snacks type of meals
He plays piano, and he’s admittedly more shy than he looks
He also has a really easy way to get you to open up
and his laughter is so warm
Junhui learns a lot about you, too, and the more you talk, the more you regret not having this conversation with him sooner
When you met up for lunch the next week, scribe Chan and nurse Seungkwan could visibly feel something was going on
Chan, when Jun was out of earshot: is it just me or is something different between you two?
Seungkwan: be quiet and eat your food before Jun-hyung gets mad at you
Chan: eyyy i’ve never seen Jun-hyung get mad mad
Seungkwan: hmm you know what, I’ve worked with him for years but I haven’t seen it either
Chan: right? I mess up on my charts sometimes and would have gotten strikes if it was with another doctor, but Junnie-hyung never got mad at me
Seungkwan: I wonder how scary he is when he’s mad,,, but can such a carefree guy be upset over anything?
You: what do you mean? of course he can
Chan:
Seungkwan:
Chan:
Seungkwan: wait--
Chan: you’ve seen it?!
Junhui, coming back to the table confused as to why Chan and Seungkwan are looking at him with their eyes wide opened: what? why are you so quiet? what did i do? D:
To think Junhui has never gotten angry at anything until his patient was put in harm’s way,,, you’re grateful to be able to see how much he cared for others. You thought he was truly kind.
Slowly, lunches turn into dinners, and your friends faded away in the background
Since your work schedule aligned on most days, you would get off work at the same time as Junhui, and it became almost routine that you go out for dinner together out of conveniency
Then conveniences turn into plans, and soon, you were spending almost all of your free time with Junhui
You like how he sees the world through these rose-colored frames, his view so optimistic and childlike
But you also see the hardworking side of Junhui, the lack of sleep and stress he faced pulling double shifts and on-calls to make sure the kids always have someone in case of an emergency
Of course he has worries no matter how carefree he may seem, everyone does, and you’re thankful he’s learned not to shoulder every difficult thing alone, because now he shares them with you
On such days, you always bring breakfast and spend your early morning with him so he can have a little break
He gets a little defensive when you ruffle his hair, “I’m not a kid you know? I have a pretty cool image to uphold around this part of the hospital.”
but he welcomes the comfort and warmth you bring
he doesn’t have a cool image everyone knows he’s a kid
Junhui appreciates your every moments with him, and didn’t realized he had grown to see you as someone special until his little brother asked him one night if he has a favorite person at the hospital
the first person he thought of was you, except.. you weren’t like Wonwoo or Seungkwan or Chan or Jihoon
You’re a friend... but you’re also not
To him, you were more than that, and he felt silly it took him this long to realize
He didn’t call it a date the next time you hung out, but he held your hand for the first time (and giggled to himself afterward, thinking you didn’t see, but you did)
Then Junhui picks you up to and from work whenever he can, holding your hands in the car, holding your hands on dates, holding your hands when he introduced you to his little brother
Your lunches together was almost like a parade as everyone now knows that you’re dating Dr. Wen Junhui from pediatrics
Nothing has really changed, except Mingyu was sulky when Seungkwan and Chan proudly said they witnessed this budding relationship, and the infamously intense Dr. Lee Jihoon from ER gave you a thumbs up when you worked with him on a case
Junhui speaks highly of you to anyone he meets, and though the attention makes you a little embarrassed, you love that side of him that isn’t afraid to speak his mind
There’s a deep maturity to him that isn’t often seen until he’s ready to show it, and you’re glad to be able to see this side of him
There’s the other side of him too, the one that sneaks up on you for a warm hug, squeezes your hand in between passing, and kisses you behind closed doors
Occasionally he’d just sit with you when you come to visit, taking the time he spends with you as a break from his hectic schedule
He would lean on your shoulder for comfort and play with your hands as you tell him about your days, chatting about the future and losing count of how many cats you’ve named together
When you saw him nodding off to the soft vibration of your voice, you felt a surging sense of comfort, of familiarity that only exists in your small bubble of happiness
Junhui feels like home, and you never want to be anywhere else

Dancing Doll
Optional dancer bias
~ 2.7k words
Author’s note: I originally wrote this with Svt’s Jun in mind, but it works for other main/lead dancers too, so I decided to keep it optional bias~
Just as announced, my small appartment’s front door swings open right as I very ungracefully opened a bag of chips, scattering about half of them on my lap and the couch next to me. As I look up into my friend’s face, he doesn’t even stop for a second to laugh at me or mock me and he also doesn’t immediately collect the snacks off me to eat them himself. Instead he just plunges down on the sofa across me, letting out a sigh he must’ve been holding in for quite a while now, then leaning forward and taking his head in his hands.
“…what’s up?” I ask, stuffing a handful of chips into my mouth. The answer is another long sigh, him dropping his hands between his knees and giving my room a very annoyed look. I see a drop of sweat sitting on his forehead that he doesn’t even bother to wipe off. I pick up the chips that had fallen onto my pants and hold them out to him. “Want some?” He gives them a suspicious look, then stares into my eyes and I can finally tickle at least half a smile out of his not very friendly face. He takes the snacks from me and stuffs them into his mouth, leaning back and taking his sweet time to chew them.
“You know how to make me happy,” he finally lets me hear his voice.
“Glad I could heal you from being mute,” I joke. “Now what’s the matter?” I set aside the plastic bag with a rustling noise. His expression grows cold again and he lets his hand glide through his hair, brushing it back.
“The choreography…” He doesn’t need to say anymore for me to know what his bad mood is about. After all this has been going on for days now.
“Is your manager still not satisfied?”
“It’s not about our manager this time…” he sighs, “I’m just not feeling it, you know? I’ve been going over this same song so many times, always doing the same set of moves, adjusting only details. Because the others like the overall concept, but something kept feeling off…”
“And now you went over it so many times that you can’t tell anymore if it’s good or not?” I assume and he nods.
“That’s it. It started feeling dry a while ago…”
“Then why not take a break and dance something else for a while? And then a day or two later you dig out that song again and try the choreo once more.”
“No, you don’t understand,” he says and gets up, walking a few steps away, then after letting his hand quickly brush through his unkempt hair, throwing his head back. “You’re not an idol, you wouldn’t understand the stress that comes with people telling you to finish this choreography as soon as possible.” He turns his head to look at me. “Because that means they’d rather you serve it to them yesterday.”
“You’re not a superhuman though…” I argue with my very irritated friend. “Good things need time.”
“Well, I’m happy at least one of us can see things this relaxed,” he throws back. I huff.
“Then why are you here if you don’t have time to relax?” A pissed off look from his side tells me he did not appreciate my teasing.
“You’re right, I should leave,” he says and walks to the door, crouching down to put his shoes back on.
“No, no!” I call out to him and run after him, to which he gets back up.
“I thought I might be able to clear my head here, or even find some inspiration…” With a smile he adds, “But it seems like you just want to take out your frustrations about the torn chips pack on me and chase me away.” I can’t hold back a laugh.
“Yeah, that’s definitely what this is.” He joins in on the laughter, though a little less enthusiastic than me and I earn a ruffle over my head by him, to which I playfully complain about him ‘messing up my hair’ – which was already kind of a mess to begin with.
“What kind of dance is it even?” I ask. We have talked about this before and I know the song he’s using, but I’ve never seen more than a glimpse of the whole performance.
“It’s kind of a couple dance,” he explains.
“Kind of? Maybe… I can help with that?” I offer, but get flustered immediately by the surprised look on his face. “I mean! I’m not a dancer obviously so… I doubt I can do much…” He cuts me off.
“No, this might actually work. I haven’t thought about trying it out with another person yet…”
“…but I thought it was a couple dance?”
“Well… kind of. Have you listened to the lyrics of the song closely?” I shake my head.
“I haven’t really studied them…”
“The song’s about someone chasing a woman so beautiful, he thinks she’s more like a doll than a human. That’s why in the finished performance, there is supposed to be a female person on stage, but she doesn’t really move, since she portrays that doll-like beauty.”
“Oh!” I exclaim, a scene of what the finished stage might be like forming before my inner eye. “That sounds… tricky to create.” He lets out a tired laugh.
“That’s what I’ve been saying the past few days…”
“But how can I help with that then?”
“Up until now I’ve only imagined the girl standing there… the feeling might change if there is actually a pretty woman in the room, and I get to seduce her with my dancing.” I hit him in embarrassment.
“Stop spitting such cheesy lines!” I yell at him, before we leave and he takes me back to the company building, taking the backdoor to the practice rooms, just to be sure nobody sees him letting in a female from outside of the company. Not that it would be a problem for his higher-ups, but other fans that have his group under surveillance 24/7 might misinterpret. As we enter the broad room with the mirrors spread along one wall and I close the door behind me, he quickly stretches, then puts on the song and stares at himself in the mirror, his foot tapping to the music.
“Aren’t you… going to do anything?” I dare ask after watching the awkward scene for a while.
“I’m seeing if I can implement a different move-set in the middle. So I like to just visualize the dance first to find out if it would work on a stage,” he explains without paying me a single look, closing his eyes. After passing the bridge of the song, he gestures for me to come to where he’s standing. Taking me by the shoulders he leads me away from the middle of the room, placing me a bit to the right.
“Do I need to do anything special?” I ask.
“Just keep standing there, and play along when I lead your arms somewhere.”
“…you’re not gonna lift me up though, are you?” As he walks over to the equipment to restart the song, he shoots me a smile over his shoulder, winking at me.
“At least I’m not planning to!” Suddenly feeling a little uneasy, I collect myself to calm down. I can’t exactly be of much help if I’m a nervous wreck, can I? …Why am I even so nervous about this? As the music sets in and he starts approaching me with swift moves, carrying a whole different energy to him than just a second ago, I realize why I’m so tense. Even when he’s not on stage, as soon as he switches to performer-mode, his presence is… overwhelming. Watching his every move, the way he sets one step after the other securely, emitting a strong energy while still remaining graceful at the same time, I get sucked into that space he seems to be creating just for the two of us to retell the story of the song in his own way. I hold my breath when he suddenly stands next to me and I slowly lift my head to look at our frames in the mirror – his every muscle visibly tense, ready for the next sharp move at any second, while I just stand there, kinda limp, pulling back my shoulders which only makes me seem even more awkward. I see his hand touching mine, his fingers walking up my arm, reaching my chin and lifting it up, turning my head so I’m forced to face him.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t ask if you were okay with me touching you like this,” he mumbles over the beat of the song, his eyes glued to my lips. In a haze I just stare back at him for a few seconds, unable to answer until he moves to my other side, breaking the physical connection.
“I-it’s okay,” I respond, still a little flustered. I didn’t think this would be so intense… then again – what did I even expect? Looking back up into the mirror to see him take a step towards me, eyes still fixated on me, I watch as he slowly incorporates me into the piece of art he is aiming to create with his body. Focusing hard to keep my mouth from gaping, I hold my breath once again as he suddenly stands behind me, taking a hold of my hand and lifting it in the air as if I was his most precious treasure. I need to mentally kick myself out of falling into that feeling. No, this is just acting, got it? He takes a spin away from me, only to come back, his face so close to my arm, I am getting ready for him to kiss his way up to my shoulder. My eyes meet his and a certain passion arises in my stomach, that I can no longer stop. Him breaking off the eye-contact is followed by his arms embracing me from behind, creating an electric atmosphere in the room that I have never felt before. I proceed watching us in the mirror, longing for more surprises, more of those sharp, beautiful moves. His head comes dangerously close to my neck and through the reflection he now stares into my eyes. His breathing suddenly seems louder than the music surrounding us and I swallow heavily.
“Is this all part of the dance…?” I dare not speak louder than a whisper, and his answer comes in about the same volume.
“It wasn’t up until now” he says. “But I can stop here if it’s too much for you.” With those words and without waiting for my answer, he removes himself, continuing the dance next to me, where I feel nothing of him but the air strongly being whirled around by his movements. I watch his reflection that is still staring back at me and mouth the words “come back”. As if he hasn’t already seemed like a completely different person than usual, I feel like that flicked a switch within him and he comes up to me, the back of his hand gliding over the side of my face, to then gain a strong grip on my chin, further closing the distance between us. Again, his eyes land on my lips and he lets out a breath through his mouth. As we stay in that position for a few seconds, I gather my courage to ask the question that’s been circling in my head time and time again.
“This… was never just about friendship, was it?” Without hesitating, he gives me a short, but clear answer.
“No.” He looks into my eyes and I feel like I’m being sucked into that warm brown color of his pupils. My mind blank, I reach out behind his neck to have him bow down to me, our lips meeting for a second before he breaks the kiss, searching my eyes for some kind of signal of wanting him to stop. However, the thought that we could stop hasn’t even crossed my mind, and our lips meet again, quickly deepening the kiss. We stumble backwards and separate for a second to catch a breath, before I feel his hands glide down my back and over my butt, to grab my thighs and lift me up, while I put my arms around his shoulders. He keeps walking, until I roughly meet the wall behind me, gasping. His face disappears in my neck, continuing to kiss me there.
“I’ve waited so long for this…” he whispers. The next moment I feel his teeth against my skin, pulling him just a little closer in response. I knew this was going to happen at some point… My hand finds its way up his hair, tugging at it so he throws his head back, exposing his neck, but closing the distance between us too fast for me to return the favor of placing a mark onto his skin. As if he knew what I was up to, he grins at me.
“What if the fans see…?” he breathes with a spark in his eyes that almost makes me think he is challenging me. I wriggle in his hold for him to let me down and drop to my knees, my hand gliding up his abdomen and lifting up his shirt in the process.
“But they won’t see here, will they?” I shoot him a cheeky look before placing my lips right next to his hip bone, feeling him twitch under my touch, before I start sucking on his skin, watching how his facial expression slightly changes and his hand lands on top of my head, burying his fingers in my hair. The song has stopped by now and the room has become silent, the only sounds filling it being our breathing and the moan that escapes him as I dig my teeth into him. Before I move back to look at the mark I gave him, I make sure to lick over it and place a gentle kiss on the spot to reduce any pain caused. Smiling in satisfaction, I let his shirt drop and get up. He watches my every move with hungry eyes, just getting ready to slam me against the wall again, when he suddenly stops and turns around, the door opening mere seconds later. A staff member walks in and makes eye contact with him.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you were practicing here. Sorry for the interruption.”
“Ah, no, it’s fine, what did you need?” While I try to calm down my breathing, the staff member asks him about some of his group members and if he knew where they went. When he finally managed to shoo the other person away, he drops his shoulders and lets out a huge sigh, shooting me a certain look and we both start laughing.
“God that was close…” he says.
“What if he had walked in a minute earlier?” I exclaim, running up to him and hugging him, laughing in relief.
“I have no idea,” he answers while patting the top of my head, before drawing back to get a proper look at my face. “Does this mean… you like me back?” Suddenly the atmosphere becomes serious.
“Well, you’re not a bad guy I suppose,” I say, shrugging, and he spins me around faster than I can comprehend what’s going on, having me watch him immobilizing me in the mirror, placing his head on my shoulder and holding my hands behind my back.
“And now I want an honest answer, or I’m starting the dance again – this time with more self-control and more teasing,” he whispers and despite the shiver of excitement running down my spine, I retort,
“As if self-control and you was a thing when it comes to me…” He lets out a laugh.
“I can’t exactly admit you’re right here, can I?” I shake my head and he lets go of my hands, which I immediately make use of by spinning around and wrapping my arms around his neck. Despite the danger of yet another person walking in and disturbing us, I get on tiptoes to place a kiss on his lips, unable to hold back a smile. I whisper my response while we part for a second.
“Yes. I like you too.” Then I playfully hit his shoulder and shove him a little closer to the mirror. “And now do something! You have a choreography to finish, right?”

Description: Wanting to get out of your parents house and experience what the world had to offer is way more expensive than people tell you it will be. So when your glamorous “manager to the stars” cousin Hoseok hooks you up with a  job as the live-in maid for a hillside, massive mansion, you feel as though life might actually be looking up. That is until the mansion’s absentee high profile celebrity owner surprises you by moving back in leaving you to wonder if this mansion is big enough for you and his huge ego.
You don’t know whether to feel relieved or not. Yes, you were happy that you still had a place to stay and you didn’t have to move back in with your parents leaving your beginnings of a life behind.
But on the other hand, Taehyung was right. You were stuck with him.
This mansion might be big, but Taehyung’s ego was already suffocating you.
Chapter 4:
From that day on, your life in Taehyung’s mansion became a living hell. It was almost like he took time out of his day specifically to find ways to bother the crap out of you. Whether it was leaving a full mess in the kitchen after making his meals or tracking in mud through the front door on rainy days, everything Taehyung did caused you to have to basically follow him around cleaning up behind him.
Over the course of these few weeks, you had come to find out a couple of very specific things about Kim Taehyung. The first was that in the comfort of his own home, when Taehyung had no schedule for the day, he didn’t think it was important to wear a shirt. Like, ever. All he wore was his stupid silk pajama pants and fuzzy socks around the house. And even in the rare occasion that he did wear a shirt, it was usually the matching button down top to his silk pajama pants that was left unbuttoned.
Your little teenage crush on Taehyung had quite certainly ended the day you met him in person, but you had to admit, he was still a very attractive man. And even your strong will power had trouble not admiring his beautiful, toned stomach and stunning visuals as he walked so nonchalantly around the mansion. You were still overwhelmingly attracted to him. Or really only to his body. But you still hated yourself for it.
The second thing you noticed about Kim Taehyung was that he was a very, very needy person. And not just any kind of needy, the kind of needy where it felt like he couldn’t be left to his own devices for more than an hour without calling you to ask a snarky question, ask you to fetch an item for him, or do some stupid task for him that was so random and unnecessary that you’re starting to think he’s just making it up as he goes.
But you were his maid, not his personal servant. And you told him that multiple times. But each time you would object to a task he would give you, his response would be along the lines of: “You know how close Hoseok and I are. And even though he’s the one controlling your employment here, I can be very persuasive when I want to be. I could call him right now actually-” And to that you would jump at his words to put a stop to whatever he was about to do. Grumbling in acceptance of whatever menial task he had assigned to you.
They weren’t even a veiled threats. He would just outright give you an ultimatum. And to be very frank, with Taehyung’s power and influence in his record label, he had the ability to just fire Hoseok in an instant and then fire you directly after.
But Taehyung wouldn’t be that cruel… Or would he?
Eventually you stopped fighting back, until one very specific request pushed you over the line.
“Oh Y/N!” The intercom chimed from the hallway of your wing of the mansion with Taehyung’s sickenly smooth, deep voice. Ugh, you wish you could rip that thing out of the wall!
It was so nice in your bed. So warm and soft with the new fluffy blanket you had just bought from the department store. It was a bit of a splurge but you had a little extra money from selling one of your paintings at your painting classes’ semi-annual art auction and you decided to treat yourself to something nice for the increasingly chilly Fall nights ahead.
The absolute last thing you wanted to do was drag yourself out of bed to go see what ridiculous thing Taehyung could want from you at this hour. It was after 11:00 PM. What could you do for him this late at night?
The intercom was so far away. You could ignore him and pretend like you didn’t hear it because you were sleeping, but you learned your lesson about a week ago when Taehyung wouldn’t stop calling your name for an hour straight until you answered.
So off to the intercom you went. Stepping out of your bed with your comfy blanket left behind, you drag your feet out of your room to your wing’s common area and press the round button on the intercom. “What could you possibly want Taehyung? Haven’t I done enough for you today?” Your words come out in a sort of croak from not having spoken in a couple of hours while relaxing in your room.
Taehyung had gone out to god knows where for a couple of hours leaving you with some much needed ‘me time’ consisting of a few laps in the pool, a nice stop by the sauna, and a relaxing night of catching up on your reading in your bed.
“Come to my room,” Taehyung speaks from the other side of the intercom. “I have a present for you.”
“Do I seriously have to Taehyung? Can’t this wait until tomorrow?” You really didn’t want to make the trek all the way to his side of the house. It was easily a 10 minute walk to the other side. Hence the need for the intercom system. In fact, most of the times Taehyung had called you to do something it was usually through the intercom or in passing while you were out of your wing in the main part of the house cleaning.
But a present? Taehyung has never been any kind of nice to you and he’s definitely not a giving person. What could he want to gift you?
“I buy a present for you out of the goodness of my heart and you’re telling me that you can’t find it in you to walk a couple of steps to my room to come collect it from me?” His words come out like a child’s pout and you hate the way he is guilting you into this but your morals tell you that he is right. And you know he won’t stop pestering you until you go over there.
You decide it’s really not worth the fight. There are other battles to be won with this kid. “Be there in 10.” You curtly answer and head out of your wing without listening to whether he gives a response or not.
The house is dim since it’s only two residents were about to go to sleep on their own sides of the house, but you navigate through the white marbled floor, white walled hallways easily. This house is truly beautiful, especially at night. The artworks scattered throughout the house consist of statues, paintings, framed drawings, and even a really cool installed digital art piece. The individual spotlights on each work are the only source of lighting around you.
Eventually you land at Taehyung’s bedroom door. There’s muffled music coming from the other side. Slow and sensual. Relaxing. Sounds of your light knock on the intricate black wood door reverberate over the soft sound of music.
“Come in,” His low voice calls. Of course he couldn’t be bothered to open the door for you. Thoughts like that probably never cross his mind. Why would he willingly get up and open the door when you could open it yourself perfectly fine? Jeez, even the things that this boy doesn’t do bothers you.
You don’t know what you were expecting. You had cleaned Taehyung’s room before but it had always been when he was away. With his presence, though, everything feel different. It felt like everything in this room was designed specifically to accentuate Taehyung’s aura. It was everything that pulled you into Taehyung when you were his fan. It was what you had always imagined being around him would be like.
Smooth and mellow music floated through the air and the slightly dimmed lighting brought out the deepness of the maroon and grey colored walls. His room was a distinctly different style from the rest of the mansion, but why, you never found out. And it smelled like him, weirdly enough. That cologne you had been intoxicated by on the first day you met him seemed to be seeping from the walls.
You were walking into a lion’s den with the lion right in front of you. But for some reason, you still dragged your feet forward.
Taehyung was lounging comfortably on top of his impossibly large bed, propped up with his shirtless torso leaning on a sea of dark grey pillows to match his bedding. He was holding some book and wearing one of his countless silk pajama pants. This pair was a dark blue paisley print. Seriously, how many pairs of those did he have? You’ve never seen him wear the same pair. Not like you were paying any attention to that.
As soon as you walked through the threshold, Taehyung’s gaze was on you. His blonde hair was damp, as if he just got out of the shower before you walked in. If that was true, thank god he bothered to put on pants before you got here.
You thought your room was big when you first moved in, but that was just one of the guest rooms. Taehyung’s room was the master bedroom. And in its entirety, it could be its own house. Among other things, there is a sitting area with a large flat screen to the left of the massive plush bed, a mahogany bookcase which was actually a staircase to the upper loft with another sitting area and a beautiful skylight, and to the right of the bed, decorations and a doorway leading to the large spa like bathroom and closet.
With his eyes still trained on you, you come to a stop a few feet from the foot of the bed. A safe distance, you think. You really disliked the guy in front of you but damn, was this room and your physical attraction to him getting the best of you right now. Maybe it’s just because you’re tired and you can’t think too straight, but if you moved any closer to him, you weren’t sure what would happen.
Taehyung’s dark expression turns into a smirk as he still lounges in his relaxed position. His eyes rake down your body slowly making you slightly uncomfortable. You clear your throat. “Well? I’m here.” You weren’t going to wait forever. You could practically hear your bed and new blanket calling your name.
“That you are,” He takes his time to answer after he’s fully looked you over. “And in such skimpy clothing,” His words come out slightly breathy and he licks his lips as he shifts his position to tilt his torso forward to get a better look at you. Looking down, you realize you forgot to change into something more modest than your short pajama shorts and light tank top in your haste to solve the nuisance of Taehyung’s call. You didn’t even have your bra on. You were fully ready to go to bed until his stupid request.
You fix your shorts from where they had slightly ridden up on your walk over here and fold your arms across your chest instinctively. “You said you had something for me.” Is all you reply. Better to keep your conversations short and simple. This room. With it’s seductive music and smells and darkness. And Taehyung looking like that. It’s threatening to cloud your judgement and you really can’t let the lion attack. You just had to keep telling yourself that he is one of the rudest, most entitled, selfish people you have ever met. Who cares if he’s hot. You were never going to go down that road.
Taehyung nods as he moves his legs to the side of the bed and pushes himself up to slowly walk in your direction. You don’t move an inch as you stand your ground and train your eyes to the wall. Avoiding stealing a glance at his beautifully golden torso and low riding pajama pants as he walks towards you. Ok, maybe you peeked a little.
You were so focused on not looking at him that you miss how he has come to stand right behind you until you can practically feel his presence close to your back. His scent is stronger now. He smells clean and that hint of jasmine you smelled on him from before is stronger now. In a moment, Taehyung’s plump lips are at your ear. His hand slowly snakes around your waste to rest just lightly at your upper waist, dangerously close to the underside of your breast, caressing the space there. Your body tenses up instantly.
“Tell me baby…” His breath tickles your ear and your body starts to betray you. There’s no way for Taehyung to know this, but baby is your favorite pet name and you can’t help but shiver at his use of the word with his low voice. Obviously taking notice to your reaction, he chuckles lowly behind you. “Is this what you wear every night, or do you wear even less when it gets hot?” Taehyung squeezes the area of your torso he has under his palm in emphasis. His words and his touch strike something in you and you immediately feel heat pool between your legs. You almost moan but bite your tongue quickly to save yourself from that embarrassment. You couldn’t give him the satisfaction of knowing how he affected you. But before you can think any further or protest in any way, Taehyung, his lips, and his hand, are gone as soon as they appeared.
You turn quickly around about to give him a piece of your mind in protest but Taehyung disappears into his walk-in closet and re-appears a minute later with something on a hanger.
Is... Is that what I think it is?
Taehyung stands proudly with the outfit in front of him. If you could even call it an outfit. In reality, it was a white see-through bodice and bralette with a short black skirt that wouldn’t even cover half of your ass. And attached were black fishnet stockings with with bows on the tops of them.
“What the hell is that?” This really couldn’t be your ‘gift’ could it? You were dumbfounded once again by this boy and so unbelievably offended. You have honestly never been more mad in your life. Only Taehyung could get you all hot and bothered and then immediately turn around and piss you off.
But a slutty maid costume? Are you fucking kidding me! After running around tirelessly over these past few weeks, doing everything he has asked you with only a little bit of resistance at the beginning, with not so much as a thank you for anything you have done for him. He tells you he has a gift for you and it turns out to be a slutty fucking maid costume?
“It’s your gift! I saw it and instantly thought of you.”  The mockery was crystal clear in his eyes. Taehyung raises his eyebrow suggestively. “I want you to wear it around the house from now on,” He looks so amused with himself. So satisfied with his sick humor.
He wasn’t doing this to be funny. No, this was beyond a joke. The anger inside of you kept growing until you barely could take it anymore.
No. No way. You were not under any circumstances ever, ever going to put on that costume. Taehyung could ask you to do anything else for the house and you would not object. But this? This takes disrespect to a whole new, personal level.
“No.” You say simply. Surprisingly very calm for what fury you feel like unleashing on the inside. But you have to stay strong. He can’t see how this affects you. He wants your reaction.
Taehyung’s devilish smirk falters for a second, but then returns quickly. “I’m sorry, would you like me to call Hoseok and tell him you’re being unreasonably uncooperative with me? You know, I have already been telling him how unwilling you are to do actual work in this house,”
You can’t help but scoff at that. You literally did everything for this house. But you didn’t care anymore. His threats meant nothing to you. And if you had to continue with this mistreatment, you didn’t want to be forced to comply anymore. No matter what life you would be giving up. “Go ahead. Call Hoseok and tell him how I won’t wear your slutty maid costume around the house to be paraded around like your own personal play thing. I’m sure he would love to hear how intentionally degrading you are being towards his employee and his cousin.”
Your words are firm and strong. You will not let him take advantage of you. “Go ahead. Get me fired. But I have never and will never tolerate being treated like this. Goodnight, Taehyung.”
And with that, you push past him walking straight back to your own wing of the mansion. Far, far away from that despicable man you left behind you.
The third thing you had learned about Taehyung: He truly had no boundaries.

Rare Blood (6)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9 - Chapter 10 (Final)
Vampire Prince!Yoo Kihyun x Siren!Reader
Much angst, maybe fluff
Vampire world!AU
A/N: Hello everyone! thank you so much for all the love you have shown us! We are really happy that you all are liking our story! Here is the next chapter, it’s a little longer since the last one was so short. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: This store is pure fiction. Yoo Kihyun and the rest of Monsta X are the sweetest creatures on this earth, we know they would never do anything to harm or manipulate anyone.
Trigger warning: Mentions of manipulation, abuse and blood for right now. Maybe something else in the future.
Mrs. Kim guides you to the next room. As you pass you notice there are more vampires then you have ever seen before. Your anxiety starts to raise making you quickly walk behind Mrs. Kim.
She stops so suddenly causing you bump right into her back. “Ah, I'm so sorry. I'm just not used to seeing so many vampires in one place.”
“There is nothing to worry dear. They are all here for the grand party.”
Mrs. Kim proceeds to open a big double door that revealed a massive room full of elegant dresses. Your eyes widen at the sight.
“Heh, you know… I'm not really a dressy kind of person.”
“But you are the Prince’s feeder. So you must look the part.”
She motions for you to stand on the small rotating stage that stood in front of a large mirror. She moved your arms and legs to get the measurements she needed to find you the right dress.
You watch her rummage through the various dresses. “Since you are a siren and your blood is rare, I figured your dress should be the same.”
She held before you a long, shimmering dress that was a rich dark maroon color. It was actually very beautiful that you didn't mind trying it on.
You shuffle around in the fitting room while Mrs. Kim waited on you. “Come on dear, let me see!”
You slowly exit the fitting room and her face lit up with a bright smile. “Am I good or what!? You look stunning.”
You walk up onto the stage and check out the dress. The feeling was unreal. You looked at your reflection in awe. The dark material flowed down your body, hugging every one of your curves.
“I believe the dress speaks for itself. And all eyes will be on you tonight. You are ready.”
You gulp and fiddle with the dress. The thought that there could be a hundred pairs of eyes staring at you made you feel incredibly uncomfortable.
“Now, for the final touches. I decided a couple Ruby pins in your hair and a bangle with varying sizes of Rubies would accent the dress just nicely.”
Suddenly you’re so nervous you don’t even want to attend the party at all. ‘At this point death seems easier to deal with than this ordeal.’
“Now, the party has already started, so we don’t have much time to waste. I will show you the way to the main room, but from there it’s all you. Don’t forget your training!”
Before you leave Mrs. Kim’s voice changed. “By the way, telling the prince he has a nice laugh with a dreamy look on your face was kind of bold."
"Why would you say that? It's just an innocent compliment," you mumble, fiddling with your fingers.
She eyes you. "Words like that can get you killed. You're just a feeder. Remember your place. I'm sure the Royal family wouldn't take too kindly to you being so smitten with the Prince."
Mrs. Kim walks away from you. You grumble and sigh. ‘She is right though…’
Inside the grand ballroom were hundreds of vampires from all over the land. Scattered were floating red, black, and gold globes with fancy streamers to match. There was even a full orchestral band playing classical music.
Prince Kihyun stood inside near the main stage talking to other higher up vampires. One of them was inquiring about a trade.
“Ah, Prince Kihyun! It’s a pleasure to see you my good friend.” One of the other Royals bows his head to the Prince.
Prince Kihyun nods in acknowledgement. “Jun! Time is just not on our side… How are you? And your ties with the SVT Clan?”
“It’s doing quite well. The Clan works closely with your family to ensure the Kingdom is in good standings. However, it means I haven’t had a chance to see you in so long.”
“I’m just glad to see you doing well.”
“Now, where is your feeder, Prince Kihyun? I have heard numerous rumors of her rarity.” Jun raises a brow, trying to hide his excitement.
“She should be arriving any minute.” Kihyun says wearily, narrowing his eyes at the vampire’s behavior.
An announcer clears his throat and loudly exclaims your presence. “May I present to you Prince Yoo Kihyun’s feeder: Ms. Y/N.”
You enter through the doors, walking through taking small and slow steps into the massive room. As you feared, Mrs. Kim was right. The room was in complete awe as you looked around. You notice one female vampire didn’t take kindly to your presence, but you ignored it.
Swallowing the lump in your throat you finally start to move towards Prince Kihyun at a faster pace. His eyes were glimmering as he watched you with every step.
Jun clapped his hands in delight. “My, my, Prince Kihyun! I believe I speak for most when I say that she is much more than we all were expecting.”
Those around them nodded and agreed.
Without Prince Kihyun’s eyes leaving you, he said in a low voice to himself, “she’s absolutely beautiful.”
You finally join Prince Kihyun’s side and bowed to the rest of the vampires. You stood there silent, but obedient.
Jun starts to eye you like a hungry animal, but you try to focus on Prince Kihyun.
“What a specimen. So this is the siren the whole Kingdom is talking about.” Jun gets closer to Prince Kihyun. “Have you ever considered selling her blood? You could sell it at a very high price. I know I’d buy it.”
Jun licks his lips and continues with his eyes locked on you, “I know rare blood when I see it. I could smell it from the moment she walked in. Pure, and gorgeous…”
The other vampires start to come around making bargains for your blood. Prince Kihyun quickly grabs you, pulling you closer to him. It felt as if he was claiming you in front of the rest of the vampires.
Prince Kihyun stood tall and eyes all the eager vampires, “her blood is not for sale.”
Jun notices this gesture and scoffs. “Hm, i know that look and tone of voice. It's a shame to see a vampire such as yourself become attached to their feeder. You call yourself a Royal?"
Though you see Prince Kihyun was bothered by this, he quickly de-escalated the situation. “It was good seeing you, Jun. I have to join the rest of my family now. Enjoy the party.” His hand wraps around your waist and he moves you to walk forward. This gesture makes you blush, but you try to stay composed.
You start to think about how surprising it was that he defended you. ‘What did Jun mean? Maybe he actually… cares about me?’
Prince Kihyun comes to a halt and faces you. “I apologize on behalf of my friend. I didn’t realize he would be so persistent and rude.”
Still blushing you say, “you handled it well. Better than what I would have done honestly.”
He shows a bit of a side smile and it lights a spark inside of you. But, Prince Kihyun remembers where he is and quickly brings it back.
He clears his throat and places his hand on your shoulder. “Anyway, this is where we separate for the time being. The Royal Family will be making an announcement. You may stand in the mezzanine while I am up on the stage with the rest of my family. I will regroup with you after the important announcement. Don’t worry. Mrs. Kim is nearby watching you and as long as that collar is on, things should be alright. No one should dare to try something while inside the Royal castle.”
You nod and he turns his back on you to walk up to the stage. ‘Is he starting to let down that big wall of his?’ The idea that the Prince was warming up to you made your heart flutter. Maybe you wouldn't mind living under him if he was a little easier to get along with.
You go to stand against the wall as you watch one of the members of the Royal Family’s court take the stage. He clears his throat, getting the attention of the entire room.
“Welcome, everyone! You are probably all wondering why we are gathered here today in the hall of the Yoo family.” The crowd around you murmurs in agreement.
'They don't know why they're here either?’
“I am happy to announce that this is a party to celebrate the engagement of Prince Kihyun of the Monsta Clan and Princess Soyou of the Star Clan!”
Your eyes widen and your breath hitches. You see Prince Kihyun standing next to the girl who gave you the nasty look earlier. Your stomach starts to churn and suddenly you feel like the room is closing in on you. Not being able to take it anymore, you turn to run out of the room and onto the balcony.
Prince Kihyun sees you run out, making him furrow his brows in concern. He was about to go after you but Soyou took his hand and gave him a sweet smile.
“Some of the people of my clan would like to congratulate us.”
He nods in understanding, however the only thing on his mind is you.
Once you reach the railing of the balcony, you lean over and immediately throw up. You empty your stomach, your whole body shaking. Once you can't throw up any more, you wipe away the tears cascading down your cheeks.
'What the hell is wrong with me? Why did I react this way? Who cares if he's engaged! It's not like I love him or anything.’
You wanted to believe the thoughts that we're running through your mind but you knew they were a lie. Gripping the rail of the balcony tightly, you look down and watch the forest floor below. Without thinking, you start singing. Your voice turns melodic, your eyes unconsciously flashing an ocean blue;
I knew from the beginning That there is no answer. That there is no exit But your face is so mysterious It’s shaking up my heart
Everybody everyone has fallen for you I can’t believe it, it’s unfair Not positive but not negative You keep saying weird things making a person go crazy
“Absolutely amazing. You should be careful with that voice of yours, lovely. It could get you in all sorts of trouble.”
You immediately stop singing when you hear a voice behind you. You slowly turn to see a tall, very attractive male vampire. ‘I swear to god, this better be the last one of them.’
“O-Oh, hello.” You squeak out, a little nervous.
The male vampire raises an eyebrow and chuckles. “Hello. My name is Hyungwon, a relative of Prince Kihyun’s. What’s yours?” He takes a step closer to you.
You grip the railing tighter in anxiousness. “I-I’m Y/N.”
Hyungwon gave you the once over and licks his lips. “Is that right? You’re the little siren that everyone keeps talking about?” He takes another step closer to you, causing you to start to panic. “I’ve heard so much about you. It seems my family has taken quite an interest in you.”
You were starting to wish you never ran out onto the balcony. You reach up to touch the collar to send Prince Kihyun a signal but something stopped you. You notice Hyungwon’s eyes flash yellow, causing you to halt your movements. ‘Oh no, what’s he going to do to me?!’
“Wow, Hyungwon, I never thought I’d see you out of bed for anything.”
The both of you turn to see Wonho had entered onto the balcony as well. He walks towards the two of you, putting himself between you and the hungry vampire.
“I wouldn’t go after her, Hyungwon. Seems the Prince has really taken a liking to this human. He has sworn to hurt anyone who dares lay a hand on her.”
Hyungwon tilts his head and stares at Wonho for a moment before shaking his head. “Of course, I shouldn’t have been so forward.” He looks around Wonho to look at you and bows his head in apology. “I apologize, miss. I’ll take my leave. Enjoy the rest of your night.
You watch as the thin male vampire walks back into the ballroom. Sighing with relief, you relax your shoulders slightly. Just then Wonho turns to you, causing you to stiffen again.
“Hey, it’s okay. I promise I’m not going to do anything to you,” he raises his hands in defense. “I just came out here to apologize for the other day.” He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. “I just hadn't had the company of anyone who wasn’t part of the family for so long, I kind of lost my will for a moment when I saw you.”
You slowly nod your head, your body starting to relax at the apology. “I-I understand. Thank you for the apology.”
Wonho sighed with relief and smiles at you. He leans against the rail of the balcony next to you and looks out into the forest. For a moment, it’s just comfortable silence between the two of you, enjoying the cool air of the night. Then he speaks up.
“So, the Prince, huh?”
You glance to your right at the well-built male vampire. “What do you mean?”
He chuckles. “You’re in love with him.”
You choke on your breath, causing you to start coughing violently. Wonho pats your back as your cough tries to pass. “I’m sorry, what was that?”
“Well, Ms. Y/N. It’s pretty obvious about your feelings for your Master.”
You shake your head. “N-No, I don’t have any feelings for him.”
Wonho raises an eyebrow. “Oh yeah? Then why did you run out of the room when the engagement was announced? And why were you singing?”
“Wait, you noticed all that?” You whimper.
“Well, it was kind of hard not to. You’re half siren, dear. When you sing, it’s quite noticeable. It’s just a good thing Hyungwon stopped you when he did, otherwise the entire party would have been drawn to you.”
Your face turns bright red. You had forgotten what happens when you try singing. “I guess it’s that obvious, huh.”
Wonho pats your hand. “It’s alright. No one’s really noticed other than me most likely. Everyone else is too caught up in their own world.” He gives you a friendly smile. “You should tell him.”
Your eyes widen instantly. “What?! Absolutely not. I can’t do that. He has a fiance now! And it’s against the law! Besides, he hates humans.” You hiss.
Wonho rolls his eyes. “One, fuck his fiance. Pretty sure this marriage is arranged and he has no say in the matter.” He sighs, his features growing solem. “Kihyun didn't always hate humans. He actually never used to be like this…” He glances at you. “None of us were.”
You tilt your head. “What happened?”
Wonho gets a far away look in his eyes. “It's a long story that I think Kihyun himself should tell you. But it has to do with why our entire family has grown cold and hard.” He swallowed the lump in his throat. “It also has to do with why the law exists.”
“The law? The law that states vampires and humans can't be together?”
He nods. “Yes. That stupid law. God I hate that law.” He growls and slams his fists against the rails, making you jump. He sends you an apologetic look. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.”
You gently lay a shaky hand on his. “Why do you hate that law so much? I thought all vampires agreed with it.”
He shakes his head. “Not at all. At least, I don't agree with it.” He gets a thoughtful look on his face. “I was in love once. A beautiful woman, Sumi. She was the most important thing in my life. And she was human.” He grips your hand tightly. “We planned to be married one summer. However, something happened that shook the Royal family to its core. Then the law passed and suddenly, she was in danger of being executed.” Tears well up in his eyes. “I had to send her away, to keep her safe. I haven't seen her for years, but every day she's on my mind.”
You gasp, your heart breaking with each word. You hold his hand tightly. Having to send the one you love away and never seeing them again? That's something you could never imagine. 'But what could have happened that caused the law to be in place?’
Suddenly, Wonho grabs both of your hands and looks you directly in the eyes. “Y/N, you need to be careful around here. You need to stay away from I.M and Minhyuk. They're up to something. I need you to stay safe. You're the only one that can fix this entire family, I know it. You can break down Kihyun's walls and turn everything back to how it used to be.”
You're shocked into silence by his words. You open your mouth to respond but nothing comes out.  So much information hit you all at once, your mind is spinning.
“Excuse me, Wonho, but you need to let go of my human this instant.”
Both yours and Wonho’s head snap to the new voice coming from the doorway. You look to see Prince Kihyun, none too happy.
“Y/N, come here. Now.”
Wonho let's you go with one last pleading look. All you can do is nod and smile. You bow your head and hurry over to the Prince. Prince Kihyun looks down at you with a mixture of annoyance and concern.
“Y/N, go back to your room. You're to stay there for the rest of the night. I can't watch you and entertain at the same time. I'll be there in a few hours once the party is over.” He places a hand on your shoulder.
You nod in understanding and bow your head, taking your leave. Prince Kihyun watches you leave the room before turning back to Wonho.
“What was the meaning of this? Why was my feeder out here with you?”
Wonho rolls his eyes. “She just felt nervous in there by herself, so she came out here for some air. I saw Hyungwon come out after her and wanted to make sure she was okay.”
Prince Kihyun scoffs. “All of a sudden you want to make sure she's okay? Even after you tried to sleep with and feed from her?”
“It wasn't like that. I wasn't in my right mind and I apologized to her.” Wonho crosses his arms.
Prince Kihyun narrows his eyes. “Just because you're now a lonely, single male doesn't mean you get to sleep with any woman that passes you. How would Sumi feel about that?”
Wonho growls and glares. “Don't you dare bring Sumi up! It's not MY fault what YOUR best friend did! That stupid law did NOT need to be passed just because of one human!”
“How dare you talk to me like that! I'm the Prince!”
Wonho takes a threatening step towards the prince. “I can talk to you however I like. Not only am I also a Royal, I'm still older than you.” He jabs his finger into Prince Kihyun's shoulder. “Don't you dare hurt this girl. She doesn't deserve any of your hatred towards humans.”
Prince Kihyun knocks his hand away with a huff. “I can treat my own property however I like. She’s MINE.”
“Oh yeah? What would happen if she decided she didn't want to be here anymore? What if she decided she has had enough?” Wonho bares his fangs with a sneer. “Just because Min Yoongi decided to do what he did, doesn't mean you get to treat human beings like they're dirt! They aren't all the same!”
Prince Kihyun's hand shoots out to grab Wonho by the neck. “Don't you dare mention that name in my presence again. This conversation is over,” he warns in a dark voice.
He let's go of Wonho and turns to walk out. Wonho coughs, rubbing his neck. Before he exits the balcony, Wonho sends him one final message.
“You need to tell her what happened! She deserves to know why you have nothing but hatred towards her!”

“No one else has told you yet?” Joshua asked, plucking a section from the clementine and popping it in his mouth.
“I’ve heard things here and there, but no one’s bothered to give me the full story. They all said that was something for you to tell me.” you explained. Joshua nodded.
“There’s no point in keeping it from you, besides we are kind of in the same boat if you haven’t figured out yet.” He said, leaning back in his chair. “Do you want the short version of the long version?”
“Whichever you think is best.”
“I’ll try to keep it on the shorter side then, but no promises.” Joshua said, adjusting his seat before going into the tale.
“So, I lived a pretty well-off childhood. I spent most of it with my mom, because my dad was always in and out of the house on his so called ‘business trips.’ Only later did I find out that he was actually a part of a gang, and actually held a pretty high up position in that gang. He’d managed to keep it well hidden from me, so well hidden that even after they got me, I didn’t know what was going on. Apparently, my dad rubbed the wrong group the wrong way, and to retaliate they came after me.
“I was on my way to school one day when this group of people showed up and started chasing me. I didn’t even know what was going on but I just ran for my life. I was able to outrun them for a little, but well, as you can tell I didn’t get all the way fast enough. They ended up cornering me and then managed to knocking me unconscious, and before I knew it I was being held hostage at the base camp of one of the most infamous gangs to this day. At the time however they were still growing, but they were big enough to seriously give my dad some issues. Honestly, I’m not sure how hard my dad tried to get me back, I’ve not heard or seen him since that day they pulled me off the street.
“My living conditions were almost a hundred times worse than yours. Rather than just letting me adjust in with their daily life like we have for you, they just threw me in one of the empty rooms and almost never let me out. And if they did let me out, it never ended up being a plus for me. I’d usually end up going back to that room in worse condition then when I left. I somehow managed to stay alive for maybe a year? Time was never a concept in that room for me. I didn’t even have a window, let alone a clock. When one of the gang members would get extremely bored they’d come and mess around with me, but after a while I finally just stopped responding to everything, partly from lack of energy, partly because I simply didn’t care anymore, they soon lost interest in that. Thankfully the oldest member of the gang was decent enough to make sure I would at least get one meal a day, but he never bothered to stop any of the other guys from beating me up just for their amusement. However, I think once they realized that my dad wasn’t going to risk his entire gang just for to get me back, they soon forgot about me, and the meals became less and less.
“On top of all this, I tried to escape a few times, which only pissed them off more. I’m surprised they didn’t just kill me off after the second time I tried to run off. I never did make it very far… The furthest was to the front lawn, but the base was located somewhere in the middle of the woods, so even if I did make it away from them, I wouldn’t have the strength to travel all the way through the woods and get help. No matter what I was going to do, I was going to end up dead. I had pretty much accepted my fate when Jeonghan suddenly showed up.
“Apparently one of the members from the gang that had captured me was feeling extra blind that day and thought Jeonghan was a member from one of their branch groups when he found Jeonghan snooping around their base. Thanks to that, Jeonghan was able to use it to his advantage and get further into their base. He never did tell me what he was doing at their base, but when he suddenly slipped into my dark room and realized I was there, barely holding on, his entire mission changed. Honestly, I barely even remember what happened that night. Jeonghan had to carry me out on his back, and I remember hearing gunshots, so we must have just barely escaped. Jeonghan brought me back here, and I basically went into captivity, part two, but this time around was much nicer. Naturally Seungcheol had the same reaction as when Mingyu brought you. The only difference was he thought that I wasn’t going to last very long given the state I arrived in, and let me stay. Ah, I had so many broken bones and was so malnourished it took me so long to get back up to normal health, even now I still have some health issues.
“Of course, similar to what you’re experiencing right now, adapting to this style of living took a while. I never wanted to become part of a gang. I just wanted to get back to my normal life and go to college and get a decent job. I guess it was just meant to be, seeing as how my dad was already in this line of work…There were a lot of trust issues between both me and Seventeen. For the longest time I only ever talked with Jeonghan, and very little at that. To me, it was going from one captor to another, but to Jeonghan, he had saved someone. Because we had such different views on the situation it caused a lot of issues between everyone. I guess that’s how you and Mingyu are right now… It took a good while for me to get to trust everyone, and there were some pretty intense after effects of living as a captive that for so long. Jeonghan would stay up with me all the nights I couldn’t sleep because of the nightmares, and eventually, very slowly, I’ve made it to where I am now.” Joshua said, his clementine long forgotten on the table in front of him. He suddenly laughed. “Honestly when I first saw Jeonghan standing over me that night, I thought he was an angel and I had finally died. In a way I guess he was a sort of angel...”
You were at a complete loss for words. His story gave you a whole new perspective on life. He had been through hell and back and had never once complained about it to you. He barely even showed that he had once been held captive like that. He seemed to fit in so well you had never expected something like this. No wonder none of the other members wanted to talk about what had happened. You couldn’t imagine what they would have done when Jeonghan showed up with Joshua looking like that.
“It’s not too bad though, at least I gained twelve good friends from the whole ordeal, and I can always be here for you when you need it. I know it’s not easy to go through something like this.” He said, gesturing vaguely to the entire house. You opened your mouth to respond but nothing came out. Finally, you were able to form some words.
“Is that group that did that to you still out there?” you questioned. Joshua ran his fingers through his hair.
“Yah, god, the first time I ran into them after that I thought the world was going to break open and swallow me. I felt so panicked and sick to my stomach I almost blacked out. Thank god I was with the other members then. It’s been a good few years since that all went down, and since then the two groups have been able to smooth things down enough that we can be civil in public together and not start any petty fights like we used too, but yeah, they’re still out there. And still one of the more powerful groups. I don’t think I could ever be alone with anyone from that group however, it would end badly.”
You didn’t know what to say. The fact that the group that had abused and almost killed someone so nice and gentle as Joshua was still out there made your blood boil. Before you could think of something to say you noticed Joshua’s hands shaking ever so slightly as he reached for a piece of the clementine, and you couldn’t help but feel guilty. You’d made him relive one of the worst memories of his life. Without thinking you reached across the table and grabbed his hands in yours.
“I’m glad I got to meet you Joshua, and I’m glad you’re doing better now. I’m sorry I made you relive all of that.” you said softly. Joshua smiled, his eyes twinkling brighter than the stars that filled the night sky outside.
“How about we watch a movie to take our minds off everything? We might as well enjoy our time while out ‘captors’ aren’t awake.” he said with a wink, emphasizing captors. In the end, you realized the both of you were being held by seventeen against your will. Sure, they might be giving more freedom to Joshua then they were to you, but in the end,  you were both “prisoners” there. It crossed your mind for a moment to ask whether Joshua had ever tried to leave svt, but before you could give it anymore thought Joshua beckoned you towards the living room with the tv, heading straight for the drawer where they kept all the movies.
The next morning you woke up to loud cooing from a few of the other members. When your eyes finally fluttered open and adjusted against the harsh light of the sun you realized that you were still sitting on the couch. Out of exhaustion, both physically and mentally for the two of you, you had both managed to fall asleep halfway through the movie. Somehow along the night, the tv was turned off and the two of you had obtained blankets, and settled down onto the couch, to tried to go back up to your own rooms. It only then occurred to you that you had full on snuggled up against Joshua, who still sat propped up against the back of the couch. He too was just coming back to his senses. You quickly launched yourself away from him, nearly falling off the couch in the process. Leaning against the door frame, staring daggers into both you and Joshua stood Mingyu, his face stone cold. Joshua quickly tried to explain, but Mingyu turned on his heels and walked away before Joshua could even get a full sentence out.
A wave of guilt washed over you the second his glance crossed yours as he turned to walk away. It’s not like you had done anything wrong though, did you really need to feel guilty and explain yourself to him? You didn’t belong to him so what did it matter what you did, all you did was fall asleep…
Regardless of how you felt about the situation, the guilt was still very much present. Mingyu was in a sour mood the entire morning, and Joshua seemed to be feeling just as guilty as you. The awkward air that filled the room at breakfast was stifling. You sat in your seat that had been pulled up next to Hansol and across from Chan. There wasn’t much room there, but it was better than sitting at the other end of the table, staring straight down the table at Seungcheol. You barely had an appetite, but continued to eat anyways, not wanting to show that it had affected you in any way. The breakfast started off extremely quiet, but when Seokmin finally broke the tension everyone started up in the conversation, soon forgetting about the events from earlier that morning. That is all, except Mingyu.
After breakfast, you helped Chan with all the dishes before heading upstairs to take a shower. Upon finding the shower already being used, you made your way to your room and threw yourself down on the bed. Only a few minutes later you heard your door open. You slowly lifted your head to see who it was, not really bothering to move much. That was, until you realized Mingyu had just walked into your room. You slowly sat up, folding your legs in front of you as you watched him walk closer towards you.
“So, do you still want to go to this ball? I doubt Joshua will be going…” Mingyu asked, his words laced with spite.
“Why would Joshua not go?” you asked back, completely ignoring his harsh tone.
“Exo’s going to be there.” He replied, and once he was you puzzled look he explained further. “The group that got him.” You nodded, now realizing that Josh had never even mentioned the name of the group.
“I mean, whether Joshua goes or not doesn’t really bother me, I just really want to get out of this house even if it’s just for a few minutes.” You explained, shrugging your shoulders. There was a moment of silence before you finally spoke up again.
“Anyways, Mingyu about this morning…” you started, only to be cut off by Mingyu himself.
“Joshua already told me everything.” He said, a little less harsh than the past few times.
“So, then you know nothing happened, would you stop being all harsh to me?” you asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Mingyu sighed and sat down next to you on the bed.
“I’m sorry, it just bothers me that I didn’t know you couldn’t sleep well at night…” he finally sighed.
“It’s fine. Honestly, I thought I would run into you more than anyone else, especially Joshua, but it does make sense. After all he’s been in the same place as me, a lot worse actually. He would know what to expect from me the most, probably even more than I do myself.” Mingyu nodded. “Don’t go bringing your frustration out on Joshua though, he didn’t do anything wrong. In the end, I’m the one that made him come downstairs, and I made him tell me about what happened back then. We both got so emotional last night that we wouldn’t have been able to sleep if we didn’t do something like watch a movie.” You pointed out. Mingyu nodded once more before standing up.
“I really do want to go to this ball though, Mingyu. I want to meet these Monsta X people too since Seventeen is always spending so much time with them. They must be nice people too.” You said, following him out of your room.
“We’ll just have to ask the boss than.” Mingyu said with a smile.
