             Thinking about just how emotionally and mentally manipulated Johnny’s younger years were, and how due to his treatment by Nancy, and the entire family vs. the outside world outlook they have, Johnny’s never really had an intimate connection to anyone. The way he never lets his guard down, even around his own mother, and how that ties into anyone and everyone he meets. I think there’s a sort of reluctance toward the family, the fact that he knows he’s tied to them, has an obligation to bring in victims and kill them for the sake of his family who can’t easily lure others in like he can. That reluctance keeps him distant from Nancy, especially now that he’s older, and takes time away from the family, even if it’s road trips masked as an excuse to go find other victims, which isn’t far from the truth. I think as he’s older, he has very conflicting views and ways he goes about killing, to the point where it pisses Cook off, and therefore his mother, since he talks about going and telling her and getting whooped for it.

             But from all this, I like to think about the first time he’s ever really interested in someone, that isn’t just to kill them after. Getting to know someone, and in time, letting them know bits and pieces about himself. The patience that’s needed with him, to gain insight into the person he is behind the killings. And to think of the way it will change his perspective on someone, the sudden interest he has in them. Very much a person to sit, study, admire the other person, even when they are unaware he’s looking. It’s almost dangerous what he could turn into, knowing he would do anything, kill anyone, to keep that one person safe and most importantly- his. Because it isn’t just anyone that gets to know him, let alone be loved by him, so if he lets a person into his heart to that degree know he’s serious- and wouldn’t have eyes for anyone else.
