So I have a few off the top of my head, this is just a few of them and I’m so willing to get into more specifics of them or tweak some of these if yall don’t agree.

I think George is a little more reserved than Fred. He’d prefer a night in over a party with his s/o. Not all the time, he does enjoy a good night out every so often, but maybe like three times a month he wants to stay in. He also will avoid being the complete center of attention, usually lets Fred do all the talking, he’s not introverted by any means tho.

Neither of the twins are introverted. But Fred is more extroverted than George. Fred is willing to go up to his crush and ask them out. George can talk to his crush, but he would rather see if it will come naturally than ask outrigh, see if there’s a connection and get to know them.

Fred is so useless with Muggle technology it is actually insane. Give him an iPhone and some AirPods and be entertained. George is a little less helpless, still baffled by it but is willing to understand it more. George puts on an effort if you are muggle born to know your world, while Fred sees magic as a better solution. Still both use magic as a crutch.

HOWEVER, Fred would be so tiktok addicted. Does he understand it? No. Does he spend most of his time scrolling? Yes. Cares deeply about his streaks.

I think Fred is a bit oblivious to things. Doesn’t realize his actions have consequences, so he might say something rude and not realize he shouldn’t have. If something he did or said made you upset he does apologize and tries to do better in the future.

George is careful with his words, he doesn’t accidentally say anything rude. Which can often mean, if he does anything rude he usually meant it.

George is organized chaos, yes his office is a mess but at least he knows where everything is. He has a system and it works for him. But he knows how to tidy things up.

Fred is just messy. Leaves things in random spots, never knows where. He needs AirTags for almost everything but he is stubborn and swears he knows where he put it.

I feel like both the twins are quite independent. They love their mom and dad, but they aren’t a mommas boy or anything like that. They have so many siblings that they kinda just have each other to ask for advice.

BOTH WOULD DATE WEIRD GIRLS/BOYS. Like during their time at hogwarts they were popular, but once they are adults they would love to have a weird partner. Fred would probably really like a more goth/alt/emo partner, like sure put the 7 hour fnaf deep dive on babe. -a lot of poeple noted the progression in the frames of delilah and the toons, but i don't think anyone's pointed out the sharp decline delilah has, like she got noticeably weak after creating finn, she's fallen down after making rodger, him trying to offer to help her(he was the only toon to notice something was wrong with her), the ichor stain on the floor when razzle and dazzle were made, (though it's plenty ambiguous, like maybe she spilled some ink/ichor my intention was that she threw up (threw up Before r&d were actually Made, it’s a stain she just hasn’t covered up yet)) and the stain is covered up with a rug when teagan is made. she's also wearing her glasses on her face more regularly as she makes them, and is sitting/leaning more often

-also some people thought shrimpo punched delilah here for no reason or just bc he’s angry/violent, but as the frames progress it goes from Immediately after the toon’s creation to Going to leave the room to introduce them to the others, he punched her bc he had Just been brought to life and she was in his face. scared him by accident <:]

now a lot of delilah’s Deterioration comes from my own preconceived headcanons about toon creation from my ocverse that I’m just applying here for fun, but so: making a toon is extracting a fully formed and cognizant Thing from your heart and mind, your soul. a toon is generally going to be about as smart as you are, plus everything you intend for them to be. so that kinda takes a physical toll on you if you're making So Many and especially in a pretty short time frame. she's still making every toon on a different day but she's certainly not giving herself enough of a recovery period.

(brief note, this is all my personal interpretation and is definitely not the word of god lol. I genuinely love every interpretation and believe that headcanon variety is vital to a healthy fandom ecosystem)

So, this is something I have thought a lot about and still continue to think about. I'm pretty sure I've nailed it down but it might still be a little nebulous so bear with me.

In the most basic sense, my interpretation of Starlight Express, and all of its characters, is that they are real world pieces of rolling stock that have the ability to shift between a train form (primary configuration) and a human form (secondary configuration). Not an uncommon idea in this fanbase.

However, I'm an overthinking bitch, and I love going in-depth on things like this, so let's expand a little.

There are three main phrases that I use to define my interpretation (headcanon? au? lore?) and to keep myself on track when developing ideas. Sort of layers, if you will. They are as follows:

Fabricated manifestation of psyche - This is rolling stock's appearance in secondary configuration, or what we see in the musical. Their human bodies are a cosmetic representation of their will. A psychological trick. It reflects their personalities, their jobs, their mental age, the demographics of the region they serve. There about a million different factors that go into how they look, and like us, they can't control it. (well, except for CB, but he's another story) It's important to note that this is a manifestation. They are not Transformers. Secondary configuration is not 1:1. There are certain things that get muddled in the changeover. Wheel arrangements being different, missing certain parts, changed color palettes. You could open one up and see parts but not in any sort of similar arrangement to their blueprints. I mean, who can honestly picture every single part of their body in perfect detail and then reinterpret it into a new shape? (this is in part my answer to discrepancies between the real costumes and my lore shh shh)

Counterfeit reflection of humanity - This is their minds. They are our copies. They experience everything we do. They work, play, socialize, fight, fall in love. You could talk to a piece of rolling stock and have a fully human conversation. They are people. However, the longer your conversation goes on for, you may notice certain...oddities. Gaps in their knowledge, speaking in rhythmic sentences, constant repetitive movement. Someone copied humans and didn't do the most perfect job. Like looking at human culture through a lens. Many a train has pondered the simultaneous existence of being machine and being alive.

Physical incarnation of industrialism - Now this, is the origin of all of this. The humans did not create trains to be the way they are. Every piece of rolling stock is designed as they would be in the real world: vehicles to transport people and goods from one place to the next. No one designed Greaseball's slicked back hair or big, studded belt, they designed an EMD E7 built for pulling fast passenger trains. My point is, at the advent of industrialism as we know it, the trains manifested their secondary configurations themselves. They are the offspring of humanity, sired by ingenuity and innovation and birthed from the overturned earth of the Industrial Revolution. No one knows how or why, they just are.

So, in summary, they're sort of robots? Sort of a power of the mind situation? Sort of my own self-reflection on the nature of being alive?

Bonus facts!

Indeed, they do not feel pain. In fact, much of their sense of touch in general is limited. It ranges from same sensitivity as human flesh (hands, face, wheels) to just registers contact (shoulder boxes, hip plating, couplers). I have a diagram of the exact distribution somewhere lol

They bleed? Kind of? If parts are pulled off or damaged, they sort of…leak. Also, if their fleshy bits are "injured", the wounds only heal when the actual machinery is repaired. Also also, if you remove a human part (arm, leg, head, etc.) it will turn back into a train part!

Their temperature resistance is notable too. Comfortable is between -10 F to well over 500 F. Anything above or below that, and they start to complain. Wooden rolling stock have a harder time than steel ones.

They're afraid of deep water and tornados.

In addition to their nails being painted in relevant colors (which I believe is a semi-popular headcanon already), their mouths are the same. Some more unnatural colors include, black, yellow, and blue!

Tall! Generally between 12 and 17 feet. Loosely correlates to their height in primary configuration. Some are the same height, some are taller, some are shorter. Really depends on personality. I contemplated once to have their heights be the length of their primary configurations, but that would result in some pretty awkward height differences and they would be too big for their loading gauge.

They always manifest as adults, or at the very least, late teenagers. They kind of age? Sometimes? Momma started out a bit middle aged, but Rusty has spent like 50+ years looking 25. Really depends on the person, workload, environment, etc.

cuddles with kanade are warm and loving. burying her head into the crook of your neck as if she were a cat, hands laid against her chest, hair sprawled against the palms of your hands which were wrapped around her waist. just sweet, quiet cuddling. no words need to be said for you two to know you love each other.

such a conflicting touch. warm, yet cold. her touch is so trusting, a warm sensation within her fingers, yet you can still feel the distance behind her touch. shes blunt with her words, blunt with her touch. she isn’t exactly sure what she wants, and so you help her. help her explore what makes her happy, help her explore what takes away from that deep emptiness which resides within her.

sososo many study dates .. escaping to the library together in an attempt to get away from her mom, who would never let her have a partner. spending time together through connected silence, headphones shared with one another.

sharing songs to each other that you enjoy! mafuyu expresses a lot of emotion through song. she writes lyrics to express how she feels, and similar to kanade, writes about the way she feels with you.

clingy. in the way that she always wants to be near you, wanting to hold hands with you. following you around, acting like a lost puppy when it comes to you.

kisses you. so much. because she likes the way it makes her feel. a fuzzy, odd feeling that shes not used to. squeezes your face, and fiddles with your fingers or clothing while kissing you.

so fucking dense. does not get jealous. rarely feels any strong emotion. if you want her to understand something, you have to be patient with her and communicate that. overall, she puts in the effort to try and tell you how she feels or act accordingly.

# ena shinonome

makes you model for her drawings !! draws you in such a gorgeous light, the way she views you. with perfection, with accuracy. everything she loves about you. sometimes, she’ll catch herself doodling you on papers or her tablet accidentally. at this point she can draw you precisely without a reference.

you two bicker a lot, ‘n its really amusing to tease her. its not serious arguing, but seeing her face light up in embarrassment as she tries to argue against you makes you feel warm.

needy af. shes embarrassed by it, but she yearns for your touch. constantly wanting to be sat touching legs with you, holding fingers within your own. you’ll catch her glancing at you occasionally, seeming like her mind is always on you, no matter whats happening around you two.

Between TeruAoi, Terukane and Aoikane which one do u think has the most chance of becoming canon with the story rn? I saw a lot of people on twt saying that Terukane has the most chance right now with the new timeline but I don't fully get why

Aoikane was confirmed canon in the old timeline, and it still has the most chance of being canon in the new timeline.

Just look at these panel. These aren't small implications, these are loud "HEY, AOI AND AKANE STILL LIKE EACH OTHER!!" panels.

Terukane has no chance of being canon, at least, not in an endgame way, the most I can see it happening is Teru having a one-sided crush on Akane. And even that isn't as likely as the overall fandom want people to believe, cause we have gotten a lot of teruaoi hints.

HOWEVER, while unlikely I am not dismissing the possibility of one-sided terukane, cause aidairo has put a lot of effort into keeping Teru's crush ambiguous (like teru not telling his crush's gender when rejecting someone in chapter 1). So there is no way to disprove for sure that Teru doesn't like Akane.

The thing is that teruaoi also can't be disproven unless people go out of their way to have the most uncharitable view possible on the ship build ups. Teru has had so many vague build ups that tiptoe between 'platonic' and 'romantic' with both Aois, to the point even something as impossible as 'Teru like both aois' cannot be explicitly shut down. Not yet. So one-sided terukane wouldn't surprise me if it was canon or if it wasn't.

Now enjoying terukane is one thing, is a good ship with a really awesome and complex dynamic, but the people who genuinely believe they are being written to be canon and that making them canon was always the intention bother me, cause they aren't analyzing the manga, they just... see what they want to see.

I haven't been on twitter in a while but I don't have to be there to know that most terukane shippers there will see the newest chapter and zoom in on this scene to go "LOOK HOW MUCH AKANE CARES!! THIS IS ANOTHER PROOF TERUKANE RELATIONSHIP IS EVOLVING AND WILL BE CANON"

but they will pretend this part doesn't exist.

so at least to me, these 'analysis' read less like people that genuinely love the manga and enjoy analyzing every detail to try to foreshadow the relationships that will be explored, and more like people in denial trying to insert their headcanons and preferences into canon " I WANT terukane to be Endgame so I will ONLY see the terukane parts cause that's what matters, everything else in this manga is a mistake so it shouldn't be considered."

as I'm playing this again I'm sorta re-evaluating some of my character headcanons. Bobby being sort of in Oleander’s favor like he reminds him of himself is interesting to me.... was Morry a school bully.. did he start getting mean before he got rejected by the military a billion times. I just really struggle to see him as an effective bully in school because he was just so small. He obviously wasn't winning any fights.

I guess this statement could be another of many of Oleander’s ego-inflating-tough-guy statements he makes abt himself as if he's always been some sort of hardened jackass. At this point he's still fully lying to the kids about being in the military. Also about literally everything else.

So I kinda think it's likely that the same way that he latches on to Raz as "one of the good kids" at camp because his brain would be of value but also subconsciously because he seems to have the same deep connection to the core values of the Psychonauts like him, Morry sort of throws Bobby a bone a little because on the surface he plays into the tough guy role, but subconsciously he can probably relate a little to the fact that he can see this kid is Going Through It outside of camp.

🖤His collection of figures are kept in a special room in glass cases that Beleth looks after diligently. Belphie usually goes in there to take inventory to make sure no one took anything.

🖤When it comes to his manga/manwha/comics he puts everything in order from "what he's going to read over and over" and "don't touch display only"

🖤He collect multiples of everything because he usually ends up misplacing it or it's underneath his bed and he's too lazy to look for it.

🖤Belphie never binges a series. One he's too impatient to wait funny enough, and he always falls asleep during long binge sessions and has to start all over again.

🖤He never lets anyone borrow anything from his collection. He doesn't say why either.

reading a rayv meta and it's slotting some things into place for me regarding how i read him. and i need to rewatch the duel because ive decided that that's the "before and after" crucial moment in his life (prior to fraser of course).

there's bright young married detective who's respected and solves a big case and has a partner and then there's increasingly burnt out and tired of the world and divorced and partnerless ray veccio who's behind on his caseload and willing to do a little police corruption to get the job done (which, canonically he never would have back then, that's the whole crux of the episode, that he's genuinely shaken by how many people just assume that of him) that fraser lifts out of the sludge.

i see you effects of the world generally and bringing in a serial killer/arsonist and life going on its head immediately following that case -- and ohhhh not to go for the obvious one but i bet he didn't have to do mandated therapy for solving a case, but you can tell it deeply affected him and then all of his structures were turned upside down one by one, partner leaving, captain retiring, and his father was still alive then and died a year or so later, marriage ending, and i will take a leap and headcanon all of this within months of each other.

and to continue to extrapolate, but obviously he never made it work with another partner for six years. i bet his tetchy abrasiveness would have been written off as "bad at working with others," his increasing struggles to manage his caseload chalked up to being a one-hit wonder without any real commitment or skill, everything his father always said about him turning into truth and he'd be helpless to stop it happening because it's all himself doing it...

no wonder he's a burnout mess who doesn't want anything to do with people by the time he meets fraser.

(and then he knows fraser for One day and his faith in humanity is... not restored, but certainly his commitment to supporting fraser's faith with only mild complaining is true and unwavering. oh my guy needed this. he needed this so badly).

also i say complaining, but really his complaining is mostly about fraser getting himself hurt by caring/giving too much which... takes one to know one. they're more a mirror image of each other than ray realises i think, only because his side is kinda smudged and cracked, but still works. just needed a bit of polish.
