will you be gone? | bonus : eighteen point five / brunch w Taehyung
 — word count : 1491
 — a/n : my first ever written chapter!! how’d you like it? anything I could've done better? hope you enjoyed!
Tumblr media
Your hands couldn’t stop shaking. Sure, you tried to play it off cool in front of your friends, but you were pissing your pants in nerves. The thought of meeting Taehyung after so long was terrifying. Your son, Myung-dae, seemed to notice the trouble you were having with the buttons on his sweater. His doe eyes blinked up at you.
“Do you need help, momma?” He asked. You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You raised your hand to caress his cheek.
“No, baby, I’m okay.” You smiled. Finally getting a grip of yourself, you finished buttoning the three buttons on his sweater. You grinned proudly at your work (both your son and his outfit). Myung-dae ran off the second you were done. He threw himself onto the ground of your living room where his legos were scattered. You turned to glance at yourself in the mirror hung up.
You’ve changed a lot since Taehyung left. It was hard to adjust to abruptly becoming a single mother. It was hard to push away the fact that you had also become an ex-girlfriend too. Your broken heart and your anger was pushed to the side in order to focus on Myungie and to provide for him. At some point, it became too much. Your family and Jungkook stepped in to help. That became a turning point.
You were able to focus on yourself a little more without worrying about Myungie and his needs. Then you were finally able to feel the pain, the hurt, the anger. For a second, you really did hate Taehyung. How could he have left you with your son? How could he have left you? Thankfully, time truly does heal all wounds. As time went on, you found yourself thinking about him less, hating him less, and being happier with the little life you created for Myungie and yourself. You’d be lying if you said meeting Jimin and Seokjin didn’t help. They really helped. Seokjin helped.
Staring at the woman in front of you, you smiled.
Tumblr media
“Does he still look the same?” “Does he have a matching mark on his arm, too?” “Will he carry me on his shoulders?” Myungie was full of questions the whole ride to the restaurant. You and Taehyung agreed to meet there in order to help Myungie feel more comfortable. With the car parked, you turned in your seat to face your son. His big, chocolate eyes never failed to warm your heart.
“You remember that?” Myungie had been so little when Taehyung left. You weren’t expecting him to remember anything about his dad, so the fact that he remembers the times his father would perch him on his broad shoulders, surprised you. Myungie played with his fingers.
“No, but I found a picture in your old room.” He mumbled. You bit your lip. After Taehyung left, you moved out of the room you two shared and into the guest room. You knew exactly which picture he was talking about.
“He does have the same two marks as you on his arm. Maybe you can ask him about it.” You said softly. You sent Taehyung a quick text to notify him of your arrival before getting yourself and Myungie out. You gripped your son’s hand in yours as you shut the car door.
“Daddy!” Myungie shouted. He let go of your hand to barrel into Taehyung’s arms. You spun around in shock to see an equally surprised Taehyung clutching your guys’ kid to his chest. Neither of you could stop the smile that spread over your faces.
“Hey, Myungie.” Taehyung mumbled into his son’s neck. He made eye contact with you. Both of you shared a small smile.
Tumblr media
“So why’d you leave? Why come back now?” You cut right to the chase. After sitting down and ordering your food, Myung-dae had finally gotten over the high of seeing his dad. He now sat on Taehyung’s lap, fully immersed in your phone. Taehyung slightly choked on his sip of water. Myungie gave his dad a worried look before saying,
“Don’t choke.” You stifled your laughter at your son’s bluntness.
“Thanks, bud. Um, wow, getting right to it, huh?” He forced out a chuckle. You shrugged.
“I’ve waited long enough, haven’t I?” Your eyes suddenly seemed very interested by the table you were sat at. Taehyung reached over to grab your hand.
“You have.” He said in his deep voice that once made you go wild. Now, not so much. You pulled your hand out of his grasp. Taehyung cleared his throat before beginning his story. “I never told you this, but when we found out you were pregnant, I was planning on proposing. I decided not to because I didn’t want to add any more pressure on you; I figured I’d just do it after he was born.” Taehyung gently held one of Myungie’s hands. He was going to propose? You felt the air being knocked out of you. “Except, once Myungie was born, everything changed. I realized all the plans we had, we wouldn’t be able to do them anymore.”
“What? What are you talking about? Myungie could’ve come with us! Wouldn’t that have made it that much more special?” You cut in, now getting irritated. You couldn’t believe Taehyung had even felt that way. The moment Myung-Dae was born, your life got so much brighter.
“Yes, of course! But, yn, I was so dumb back then. I was dumb and selfish. I wasn’t ready to be a dad.” He sighed. Before you could even open your mouth, he said, “And I know you weren’t ready to be a mom. But you adapted better than I did. None of it felt right to me, the whole being a parent. I hated myself for feeling that way, but I couldn’t help it, y’know? Anyways, I guess my peabrain came up with leaving as a solution and, well, I did.”
Your eyes maintained on the table. The wood was slowly chipping off of the edges, but the middle still looked in wonderful shape. A part of you had known Taehyung left because he wasn’t ready so you’re not surprised. You wished he would have talked to you about it, though. You sighed. The past was in the past now. Everything happens for a reason, unfortunately.
“I know what I did was wrong. I know I should’ve come back the second I left, but I didn’t. I can’t apologize enough. But you need to know I am truly, deeply, sorry. Yn, I’ve grown from who I was. I’m here now to fix my mistake and to raise our son. Together.” Taehyung held your gaze. If there was something that never changed about Taehyung, it would be his sincerity.
“It’s been such a long time, Tae. I wish I could be angry and yell at you for leaving us, but I can’t. I know you. I know you want to fix this and I would love to raise our son together.” You felt a weight lifted from your chest. You had been living for years with baggage, that clearing this up with Taehyung, made you feel physically lighter. You cleared your throat and sat a little straighter. “But what we had, that’s gone now. I’m doing this for Myungie, not to get my ex-boyfriend back.” Taehyung didn’t lose his composure. His lips turned into a teasing smile.
“So who’s the guy?” He joked. You knew it was a joke. Taehyung was always like this, but there was a guy.
“Why does there have to be a guy in order for me not to want you back?” You squint your eyes at him. This only seemed to further his fun, as a deep chuckle rumbled from his chest. You shifted.
“I was kidding, but judging by your reaction, there’s definitely a guy.” He smiled lightheartedly. You ran your eyes over his face. “Why are you analyzing me?”
“Because of the way you’ve been texting me! I thought you wanted to date again or something.” You grumbled. Had you misunderstood all his texts? There was no way! They were totally flirty!
“Y’know, when I talked to my parents about being ready, they were so excited to hear we were going to work it out. Be a family.” Taehyung laughed breathlessly. “I know I was being pushy. I just— I had to, for my parents. But I won’t force you into anything. That’d be a dick move and I would never do that.” Taehyung reassured you. You smiled. Once again, his sincerity was always unwavering.
“Daddy! Look, momma said you had these marks too!” Myungie pinched his arm fat together to make an elephant out of the two moles on his arm. Taehyung’s face burst into a boxy grin. You glanced down at your phone to see a text from Jin. Your heart skipped a beat against your will. You’d handle one issue at a time.

Meet CRAVITY, the K-Pop Super Rookies With a Gravitational Pull [Q&A]
Tumblr media
Photo: Courtesy of Artist
The world of K-Pop is always changing and evolving, and CRAVITY is the latest group to illustrate the universal appeal of the worldwide phenomenon. Originally debuting in the midst of the ongoing COVID pandemic, the affectionately-dubbed “Super Rookies” found themselves in an unprecedented situation, having to make a name for themselves in a genre built around extraordinary live shows and human connection, all while the world shut down around them. In spite of the odds, the group’s debut, Hideout: Remember Who We Are, climbed to the top of the U.S. iTunes K-Pop chart, cementing their place as super rookies ready to take the world by storm.
And hardly a year following their noteworthy debut, CRAVITY is back to make good on the early promise that came with topping with the iTunes chart and being Starship Entertainment’s first new boy band in five years (following in the footsteps of their seniors, Monsta X). The Awakening: Written in the Stars arrives as the group’s first full-length debut album and serves as a marked maturation for each of the members. Consisting of eight tracks that transcend genres, from explosive hip-hop to euphoric electronic-laden pop, CRAVITY fearlessly brings their ambitious vision to life.
We had the chance to catch up with the boys behind CRAVITY via e-mail ahead of the release of their full-length debut album, which is out now, to check-in and see how they’re doing before they become a household name.
youtube
Ones to Watch: What does CRAVITY mean?
Serim: It’s a combination of the word “Creativity” and “Gravity” and it has special meaning behind it--we (CRAVITY) will gravitate the audience into our unique universe with our charms.
What’s one fun fact about every member of CRAVITY?
Allen: Apparently I sleep talk in three languages? English, Korean, and Chinese.
Hyeongjun: I always wear contact lenses whether it’s a day off or not.
Seongmin: I enjoy eating jellies and candies these days.
Serim: I always clear my throat before I sing or rap.
Minhee: I don't like eggplant.
Jungmo: Allen sleep talks in three different languages and these days, he likes to shop online.
Woobin: I bite my nails, I am always looking for a new song, and beatboxing is one of the things that I enjoy doing these days.
Wonjin: These days, I play the game called Animal Crossing, but I'm too lazy to pull weeds on my island. I need some help haha ☺
Taeyoung: Many fans say I look like a cat! BUT I am actually allergic to cats ~
And what are everyone’s roles?
Allen: I lead the group during dance practices and make sure everyone is looking sharp by the time we release new music or prepare for a performance.
Hyeongjun: I’m in charge of passion! HJ = Passion!
Seongmin: I am the “Maknae” of the group and as the youngest member, I get along with my brothers (members) and I’m like the vitamin for the group!
Serim: The strongest and photographer for the members.
Minhee: Everyone is different, so it's fun
Jungmo: I’m in a vocal position in CRAVITY, so sometimes I upload vocal cover videos.
Woobin: I'm the main vocal of the group.
Wonjin: I like to make some jokes to keep our team’s mood up. It looks so easy, but it is actually very hard.
Taeyoung: My role is to hype up our members!
Serim, do the boys ever make being the group leader a difficult job or are they all pretty well-behaved?
Serim: I think it's really comfortable because the members listen to me well and follow me well.
Were there any particular challenges that arose from debuting in the midst of a pandemic?
Allen: There were definitely moments where I was up on stage tired and worn out, not being able to perform at my best due to not having a live audience, but I still try my best to not let that show through the camera lens.
Hyeongjun: I think the biggest challenge is not being able to meet the fans.
Seongmin: I wanted to perform in front of the fans, but I'm sad that I can't.
Minhee: It's still very difficult that I can't show our stages directly to the fans.
Serim: I'm in charge of passion. Expectations about meeting our fans are growing, but I'm sad that we can't at the moment.
Jungmo: Before our debut, we imagined performing on stage in front of our fans and around the world, but these days we are just performing in front of cameras so it’s really sad. We really miss you guys!
Woobin: I want you to understand what CRAVITY is trying to say. We really miss you and want to see you guys in person.
Wonjin: The fact that we can’t see our fans. We had a fairly long break in between our new album and the last one, but it felt as if it was a year. In addition, when we perform on stage without our fans, it’s hard for us to be energetic.
Taeyoung: That we can't meet our fans face to-face... that is a big, sad problem.
With your debut reaching number 1 on the US iTunes K-pop chart, how does it feel going forward with future projects?
Wonjin: I’m so excited because there is only one way for us which is to go up.
What do you hope people take away from your first official album?
Hyeongjun: We prepared a lot for the performance so please look forward to our performance and be sure to look out for our music video too!
Woobin: We tried to incorporate various genres and sounds into this album, so we hope you can find your taste in it!
Can you speak on the title of your full-length debut album, The Awakening: Written in the Stars?
Seongmin: It's focused on the keyword “Awakening,” a challenge towards a new goal. Also, please look forward to seeing how CRAVITY’s message will be written in the future!
Jungmo: It’s our first full-length album, and it means that we are all awakened and got more mature after coming out from our hideout.
Why do you think K-Pop has become such a worldwide phenomenon?
Allen: I believe K-Pop truly has something magical going on. Its power to connect people from all around the world is unbelievable. Social media definitely plays a big part in making K-Pop into such a world phenomenon, but I firmly believe that music is a universal language and that no matter where you’re from or what language you speak, the emotions portrayed by a piece of music will always be well communicated.
Are there any other groups or artists you would love to collaborate with?
Allen: It’d be nice for us to collaborate with Steve Aoki. His collaboration, “Play It Cool” with our company senior Monsta X really suited their vibe and sound, so I feel like if he ever got to produce for us, he would be able to create something that would really suit our image and our sound.
Hyeongjun: It’s still the same for me, I want to collaborate with MONSTA X.
Seongmin: I'd love to collaborate with Charlie Puth.
Serim: I’ve always liked Ateez sunbaenim’s performances and would like to have a collaboration opportunity with them.
Minhee: Anyone is good, it would be an honor for us to have an opportunity to collaborate with other artists.
Jungmo: I want to collaborate with Jooyoung sunbaenim because our new album has a lot of cool tracks written by Jooyoung sunbaenim and his crew! Also, I want to learn his vocal style.
Woobin: Lauv, and Kihyun from our senior group MONSTA X.
Wonjin: I want to collaborate with The Kid Laroi. I knew him through a song called “Stay.” I fell in love with his vocal skills and style and he is so young. I want to be his friend.
Taeyoung: I’m still waiting for the opportunity to collab with The Chainsmokers.
You’ve yet to perform for your fans in a large-scale setting. How do you feel about the possibility of performing for your fans on tour?
Taeyoung: I’m really excited to meet LUVITYs around the world and perform on stage while listening to their voices. It would be an unforgettable experience in my life.
Is there anything you all like to do when not working on music?
Allen: We all enjoy playing board games together. A few of us also like to work out or play sports such as soccer, baseball, badminton, and basketball.
Hyeongjun: I’m into watching tv series on Netflix.
Seongmin: First of all, I'm looking forward to meeting many fans, and I'm looking forward to learning about the culture of various countries. I also enjoy reading books.
Serim: Watching movies!
Minhee: I’m currently looking for one!
Jungmo: I like watching horror movies because I am interested in ghost haha.
Woobin: Cooking? I love to cook!
Wonjin: I like baseball or basketball, but these days because of COVID-19, I’m sad I can’t play.
Taeyoung: I like to play badminton and watch memes~
If you could say one thing to all your fans, what would it be?
Allen: Don’t go anywhere and stay right where you are. We will come find you once the pandemic subsides.
Hyeongjun: Let’s not stop here, LUVITY! Fighting!
Seongmin: Let's always be healthy until we meet each other.
Serim: LUVITY~~ I miss you and I love you.
Minhee: LUVITY! Always be happy!
Jungmo: We really prepared this album hard, so we hope you like it. We always love you guys.
Woobin: Please look forward to our new album! Love ya!
Wonjin: Please love our new album and stay healthy. I miss you guys so so much.
Taeyoung: I just want to say I really care about our fans and I love you so much!
What’s next for CRAVITY?
Allen: They say the sky’s the limit but we’re going to be up by satellites.
Seongmin: It’s my goal to finish our album promotions well and I hope to meet our fans as soon as possible.
Minhee: There's still a long way to go and I'm pretty sure that there will be more opportunities for us to be on stage in the near future, so I think we should all work harder to move forward.
CRAVITY’s full-length debut album, The Awakening: Written in the Stars, is available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.

Happily Ever After | Suga
This was requested by @mytrash-mylife Hope you like it dear.
Tumblr media
His eyes were intense. He was staring at you as if he wanted to memorize every feature of your face. You smiled and shy-ed away from him. But his grip around your waist was strong keeping you close to his bare chest. A thin white bed blanket was pulled over your bare shoulders, keeping you away from the coldness of his room.
“You know,” He started, and you stopped squirming in his arms as you looked at him with attention.
“I know…” You said slowly, giving him away to speak. You had been almost with Yoongi for a whole year now. Everyone doubted that your relationship with him will last six months, but apparently, everyone was wrong. Because Yoongi did really care about you. Yoongi loved you and it did not matter if the whole world did not believe that because you did.
“I want to live with you.” He suddenly said out of nowhere and you looked at him confused. “Forever.”
Your heart skipped a beat at his last remark.
“Yoongi,” You searched in his eyes for the meaning behind his words. They were sparkling against the nightstand lamp lights. They were filled with something that made your stomach tightening.
“I am not really the romantic type of guys who will create an event for something like this.” He said as he sat himself up and leaned his back on the bed’s frame. You followed him as you wrapped the blanket around your chest. “I can’t ask you this in front of everyone, or in a public place. But I know that I want this so much.”
He smiled at you before reaching for the upper drawer on the nightstand next to him. He pulled out a black velvet box and your eyes snapped to his face. “This isn’t a prank?”
“I would never prank you on something like this.” He chuckled softly before opening the box showing a diamond ring. The diamond took a heart shape, it sparked when the soft light falls over it. “Will you marry me, Y/N?”
“Oh god, I never thought the Min Yoongi would propose to me.” You threw your arms around his neck, you felt his arms wrapping around your waist, tightening the hug. “Of course, I will marry you. Yes, Yes, Yes.”
At that moment, you felt like everything was brightening for you. Yoongi loved you way more than you had even imagined, and you loved him just the same. Everyone was wrong about him. Everyone thought that it would never work out.
However, happiness had opened its arms to you. Welcoming you to a happy life filled with love and Yoongi.
You really thought that by his proposal everything was over. No one will stand between the two of you. You are his and he is yours.
That was all until… The nightmare began. Something, you had never thought would be an obstruct.
¬¬
It was a week after Yoongi’s proposal. Both of you had decided to move in together within the next two weeks. You thought it would be respectful if you told your parents about it.
Yoongi agreed with you and the next day he was in front of your door where you lived with your parents. Flowers in his hands and some fruits, your parents looked at you confused.
 At this moment, you thought he looked so cute. He sprayed his hair black so he could look presentable to your parents. He even had a haircut, so his eyes were no longer covered by his hair. He was wearing khaki trousers, a dark brown belt, and a white shirt that was bottomed to the neck. He was totally trying so hard to impress your parents.
You reframed yourself, from jumping into his arms and give him a tight hug at this moment.
“Why are you here?” You snapped out of your thoughts when your father talked. You realized that you were still standing at the door. The stuff in Yoongi’s hand looked heavy that you reached out and took them. However, he kept the flowers in his hands before handing them to your mom.
Your parents knew about your boyfriend and his career. They met him multiple times, but they were one of those who thought that Yoongi was only playing with your feelings.
Yoongi looked at your father, his hands straightened at his side as he suddenly bowed at him out of nowhere. “Please allow me to ask for your daughter’s hand.”
Your mother gasped, and your mouth dropped in surprise. Your father looked at you in shook before looking at the young man bowing in respect before him. When Yoongi did not get an answer, he kneeled before your father while keeping his head down.
This time you gasped as you followed him to the ground, kneeling beside him.
“Please, sir, I would love to take your daughter as my wife, my lover,” Yoongi said in a confident voice.
Tears rushed into your eyes blurring your vision. The back of your throat burned as you swallowed your overwhelming emotions. A part of you feared your parent’s reaction. Your mom liked Yoongi, but your dad always complained about your relationship.
“Please, mom and dad,” You said as you looked up at them with puppy tearing eyes.
Your father sighed as he turned around and walked to the living room. Your heart dropped as your mother looked at both of you with petty. You glanced at Yoongi who still kneeling, his head still lowered to his chest, with respect.
Your heart ached for him. You reached to touch his clenched fist as you looked at your mother
“Mom,” you begged her with your eyes. That was when your dad’s voice said, “Aren’t you coming in? We need to talk about it.”
A spark of hope ignited in your chest. Yoongi’s head snapped up to you. Confusion wrote on his face. You shrugged, answering his unspeakable question as both of you looked at your mother who was smiling brightly.
“Seems like it’s okay.” Your mother whispered. “Just don’t show how existed you are. You know your father is a little protective over you and—”
“If you didn’t come in in 30 seconds, I am not going to agree to this marriage.”
Yoongi jumped on his feet as he bowed to your mother before hurrying inside the house. Your eyes widened at his sudden action as your lips stretched into a wide smile. You had never seen so eager to do anything other than music. Butterflies filled your abdominal cavity as you took your mother’s hand and followed her inside.
The hardest step was over. Or that what you had thought.
~~
“And what do you do for a living?”
You squeezed your hand as you met her eyes. She had Yoongi’s sharp eyes. So cold that chills ran down your spin, making you shiver. It was the first time you meet her. Yoongi was not the kind to talk a lot about his family. So, you rarely met anyone of his family. Only his brother, once. When Yoongi took you on a date over at his brother’s restaurant.
“I am a writer. I work for the writing team at the same company as Yoongi’s” You tried to sound cheerful to ease the awkward atmosphere that was suffocating you. Nevertheless, that did not seem to work with Yoongi’s mother whose gaze was as sharp as a knife. Clearing your throat, you continued, “That’s how we meet.”
“So, you work at the same place as my son. So that is how you seduced him. Did you sleep with her? Is she pregnant?”
“MOM!” Yoongi snapped, as her sentences slapped you in the face like cold water. You could tell that Yoongi was shocked by his mother’s response as if he did not expect her to act this way. His face was turning red as his back straightened against his seat.
“Because pregnancy is the only reason, I can think of to make you take such an irrational decision on your own.” His mother fired back, as she looked at you again. Her words were sharper than swords. Cutting deep and deep inside as you listened to her.
“Did you intentionally get pregnant? Do you want to ruin my son’s career?”
“Mom, she isn’t pregnant stop saying those things to her.”
“Then, why?” Yoongi’s mother glared at her son. “Why her? Why giving up everything right now to marry…... her! She isn’t even Korean.”
“Actually, my father is Korean.” You said in your defence, but his mother rolled her eyes as she murmured. “That’s will not change anything.”
“Why not her? She did nothing to you to talk like this about her. Moreover, I am not giving up on anything. And it has to be her.” Yoongi reached for your hand. They were cold and small against his big warm hands. The simple touch of his, made you stop shaking for a little bit. Made you stop feeling useless and unloved. You had never experienced something like this before.
“She is different from us. Look at her. I am a little bit surprise that she speaks Korean well.”
“I am half Korean.” You murmured softly.
“Dear, I am not letting you ruin what I have built.”
“I am not here to ask for your permission, also definitely not here to make her listen to your hateful words. I was just informing you. This is the woman I love and the one I am ready to live my whole life with. Whether you liked it or not.”
Even though Yoongi’s words made your heart flutter, however, his words were too harsh that you felt so bad for his mom. You could not help but notice the similarity between them. Not only in features but also in their personality.
You also knew too well, that your parents would not let you get married to someone whose parents are against you. Yoongi was talking too highly without realizing the heavy meaning behind his words.
“Yoongi.” You tugged onto his hand as you shook your head. “You can’t be rude to your mother.”
His mother scoffed in her place as she rolled her eyes. “Look at her, acting so innocent. You cannot fool me, little girl. I am not my son, foolish enough not to see how sly you are. Marrying him so that you could stay in this country.”
“She was being nice, mother. Plus, she already said she is half Korean. It’s already her country.” You squeezed his hand, hoping that he would stop talking your side.
“Since when do you like nice girls? Moreover, a foreigner?” She snapped at him. “What about Minhee, Yoongi?”
Minhee.
You frowned at the unfamiliar name. Uneasiness filled you. Whoever she was, she sounded like bad news, but you decided to believe in Yoongi and not give more attention to the unknown girl.
“Mom, don’t,” Yoongi warned her. “I am not making the same mistake again. never again.”
“This marriage will not happen. I promise you, little girl if you can fool my son, you can never fool me. Let us not see each other again.” His mother emphasized her last word as she grabbed her bag and walked out of the restaurant.
“MOM!” Yoongi called after her, but she ignored him as the door of the restaurant shimmered behind her.
“Your mother hates me.” You sighed as you watched her till her red dress disappeared by the corner of the street.
“My mom doesn’t like anyone.” He sighed before running his hand through his hair. “I am sorry about this. I kind of knew something like this would happen. She is just a difficult person.”
“I didn’t like how you were rude to her.” You commented as you looked at your hand. The diamond ring blinked as it caught the reflection of the ceiling light. Its weight was now heavy on your finger. Somehow, you felt that you did not deserve that ring.
“She deserved it. She was rude to you first. I can’t believe her.”
“She is still your mom.” You turned your head slightly in his direction. You noticed how stressful he looked. His hair was everywhere from tugging into it too much. You reached out to brush it with your fingers in place. You loved how his strand felt soft at your fingertips. “I want her to accept me. I want her to love me. I want her to know how much I love her son.” You looked at his eyes as you cupped his face. “I want her to know that I can take care of you and that I will never break your heart.”
“I will never break your heart too.” His breath hitched as he spoke softly. His hand was tugging into the strands of hair behind your ears.
You smiled at him as he closed the gap between you both. Instead of his warm fluffy lips, something else soft touched your lips. You opened your eyes and a red rose welcomed you.
“I wanted to give you this earlier. But mom ruined the mood.” Yoongi said and your stomach squeezed. He had been surprising you with all the unexpected romantic gestures that he would never agree on doing.
When you saw how red his cheeks were, you knew there was a story behind this.
“Why do I feel like you lost a bet to the guys and they asked you to this?”
“Because that’s what exactly happened.”
You laughed as you hugged him. “Thank you, Yoongi.”
“You are most welcome, love.”
~~
You moved in with Yoongi a couple of days after he met your parents. Apparently, your parents kicked you out, telling you it was the right time to live on your own, getting used to life without them. You were so thankful to them but scared that they would find out about Yoongi’s parent objection to your marriage. They had been asking you when the two families could meet now that they would soon be one family.
You gave different answers each time, scared that they would be angry.
Another reason to be thankful to your parents is that if they had not let you go, you would not have seen such a beautiful sight every day.
Yoongi’s sleeping face.
He was sleeping on his stomach. An arm stretched beside him while the other wrapped around your waist. You smiled to yourself as you reached to touch his little nose. You were a few steps away from having this sight of him the very first thing in the morning every day, and forever and ever.
A part of you could not wait for your happily ever after, another part of you was so worried about the unknown future and what it hid from you.
“You are staring at me,” Yoongi said, groggily. His eyes close. He moved closer towards you, that his cheeks touched your shoulders. “You will fall in love with me.”
“I am already in love with you.” You whispered before kissing his forehead.
Slowly, Yoongi’s eyelid open and his sleepy gaze fall over your face. Your stomach flipped under his eyes as you could feel his thumb caressing the skin of your waist underneath your thin shirt.
“I am in love with you.” Yoongi raised himself by his elbow a little bit, enough for him to reach your lips and capture then in a slow passionate kiss. When he pulled away, he looked in your eyes. He could see that you were worried since the last time you met his mom. He told you to forget about her, but he could see the uneasiness in your face.
“I know you will melt her. She may seem cold, but she will come along. You know I am a little bit like her.” He said softly, as his hand reached behind the back of your neck as he played with the short hair there.
“You are a lot like her.” You rolled your eyes, jokingly and Yoongi chuckled softly.
“So, don’t worry. You already melt one, it will not take you long till you melt her.”
“I am just worried that she will not like me at all.” You said softly, looking away from him. “I kind of thought that my happy ending is here the moment you propose. I actually never have thought you would do it you know.” Yoongi smiled shyly as he listened to you. “Now, I feel like something is standing in the way of our happiness.”
“Hey.” He tipped your chin up with his index, gently enough so that you looked at him in the eyes. “When we first dated, do you remember when you used to think that I am in love with someone else.”
“Well, you and Hoseok seemed really close that I thought you were bisexual.” You chuckled softly, shaking your head. “I wouldn’t mind if you were bisexual though. Just polygamy isn’t my thing.”
Yoongi laughed softly and you just loved how it was soft and musical in your ears. “And do you remember when I misunderstood you when you were just too busy with a project?”
“We almost broke up over this.” Your smile disappeared as you remembered how you used to fight every day because of it.
“But we didn’t. We never broke up because we get over every problem we face.” Yoongi pulled you closer to him, that your face was just a few inches away from his. “We will get married and stay together even if the whole world is against us. Do you understand?”
Your cheeks reddened as you nodded. Hearing these words from him, made you feel assured and safe.
As you leaned in for another kiss from him, the doorbell rang made you both jump in surprise. You laughed as you planted a quick kiss over his lips, before getting out of the bed.
“Who could it be?” You asked as you wrapped the silk robe around your slim body.
“I don’t know. I am not expecting anyone to visit us. Did you order something online?” Yoongi said, lazily as he started to get out of the bed.
You scanned your memory for any unforgotten order, but you could not think of anything. “I don’t think so.”
The doorbell rang again, many times, that anyone could think the police was the one behind the door. You threw a confused look at Yoongi before hurrying to catch the door.
When you opened the door, your heart dropped to the floor. A small figure of a woman in her late fifties was standing before her. You could not mistake the similarity. The same eyes and the same nose as your beloved fiancé. Beside her, suitcases were standing in a threatening way to get you out of the apartment.
“The cat got your tongue. I thought this would happen.” The woman snared as she pushed her way into the house.
Seconds later, Yoongi followed you and his eyes widened in shook. “What the hell are you doing here, mom?”

series index
Over the next few weeks, you were able to put your strange encounter with the man from the painting out of your mind. You asked Jimin about it once, but he just shrugged and told you that his brother didn’t really like people, before going back to playing with Injeolmi. He really was whipped for your cat, and you had to supervise him strictly to make sure that he didn’t just let Injeolmi eat a whole bag of treats at once.
Gradually, as you eased up and realized that they truly had no intention of harming you, you had the chance to interact more with the six vampires you saw on a regular basis. Meals together became a nightly occurrence, and you found things to do with each member. It was fun to watch Jin cook for you, since you’d never had a chance to cook for yourself at the Guild. Yoongi volunteered to teach you how to play the piano, Namjoon took you gardening, and the maknaes seemed to be a package deal, all of them hanging out with you (and your cat) together. You’d even managed to strike up a lukewarm relationship with Taehyung, despite him trying to eat you the first night you’d met.
Eventually, you had to admit that maybe this ambassadorship wasn’t that bad after all. Even though you missed the Guild and being with all your fellow hunters (especially Jennie), being here let you see a whole different side of vampires. You didn’t know why they were so different from the mindless, bloodthirsty creatures that roamed the streets at night, but this gave you hope that maybe there was a better future. One that didn’t involve so much death and fear for everyone involved.
Plus, being here gave you so much more freedom. You’d grown up in the Guild, unlike most of the other hunters, and your entire life had always been strictly regimented, training and more training to be a hunter. Sad as it may seem, the Head was the closest thing you had to a father figure. In comparison to the spartan life you’d led at the Guild, being able to explore your interests in music, literature and food was like opening your eyes to a whole new world.
You couldn’t remain completely insulated from what was going on in the world, however. You continued to keep in touch with the hunters at the Guild, especially those who had been your friends, and what you were hearing was concerning, to say the least. There had been a rise in the number of vampire attacks on the public, and the vampires were getting increasingly vicious. The number of deaths and injuries among the hunters’ ranks was spiking, and no one at the Guild knew what had changed among the vampires.
This put you in a bit of a dilemma. Was it your job as ambassador to talk to the vampires about this and try to find a solution? The Head hadn’t told you to investigate, or even updated you on what was going on with the hunters, but you couldn’t help but feel some responsibility for what was happening. You were supposed to help improve the relationship between humans and vampires, right?
It hadn’t occurred to you till now that you actually knew very little about the role you were supposed to be filling. You’d been too engrossed in enjoying yourself at the manor with the vampires who seemed intent on catering to your every whim to think about it, especially since you were stuck here and not out on the streets. Out of sight, out of mind, the saying went.
Maybe you should take your ambassador duties more seriously, you thought. As soon as you figured out what they were. Talking to Seokjin seemed like a good place to start.
----------------------
Hoseok was so thirsty. Every breath he took felt like sandpaper rasping along his throat, and yet he was unable to quench his thirst. Blood from the bags they stocked up on smelled awful to him, and when he did force himself to drink it, it came right back up every time.
Born vampires usually didn’t need to feed that often. He’d gone longer than this without blood before and been fine, and he wished he didn’t know why this was happening now. Even if he was willing to take a mate, the last thing he needed in his life was a hunter. The irony of it all was not lost on him – it was the hunters who had murdered Minhee, and now the fates were trying to force him into this?
He’d rather starve to death, and as the weeks passed and his condition deteriorated, the possibility of it happening loomed large.
Still, he didn’t want to let his brothers know what was going on, not wanting to worry them any more than he already did. It wasn’t like he didn’t know what they said about him behind his back, although he chose to let them believe that he remained oblivious. He wished, more than anyone, that he could be the cheerful, jovial man he’d been in his past, if not for himself, then for them, but every day weighed heavily in his heart and his soul. He should have died with Minhee four hundred years ago, and he still didn’t know how he’d survived.
Curled up in bed in the dark room, he struggled to keep his breathing even. In, out, in, out, he repeated to himself. The windows were drawn shut to keep all sunshine out, since in his weakened state, there was no way he would survive exposure. In contrast to his weak, trembling muscles, his senses were heightened, and it felt like he could hear everything in the manor, from the footsteps of his brothers to the heartbeat of the human who was responsible for his condition.
His fists clenched, his nails digging into the flesh of his palms as he struggled to keep his fangs from descending. In, out, in, out. Was he burning up from the inside? The instinct to run straight to you threatened to overwhelm him, and he clutched the tiny portrait of Minhee like a talisman.
No, he told himself. It was only in his mind. He could get through this. He’d done it before, even though it was still a mystery how he’d gotten through it then.
The safety of everyone in this house depended on it. You were not for him.
-------------------------
“Hey, has anyone seen Hoseok-hyung recently?” Taehyung wondered. You had yet to arrive at the table for dinner, so he took the opportunity to sate his curiosity about his aloof older brother, who’d been on his mind ever since you’d asked about it.
Namjoon and Seokjin exchanged glances. “Why?” Seokjin asked cautiously. They tried not to talk to the younger vampires too often about Hoseok, since it was something of a sore spot for them. They basically thought he was just a jerk, which to be fair, the older vampires could see, but after he’d already been through so much in his life, he deserved some slack.
Taehyung shrugged. “Y/n-ie asked Jiminie about him the other day. I was just curious. I didn’t know they’d met.”
Namjoon hummed noncommittally. “Did she say anything about him?” Would he need to run interference between you and Hoseok? There was something big going on here, it seemed, and he needed to do some research.
“Just that he seemed kind of irritable,” Jimin piped up. “She’s not wrong.”
Yoongi, usually quiet and impassive, made a noise of disapproval. “Don’t be so rude about your hyung.”
“Well, he is,” Taehyung said defensively. Jungkook kept quiet. He knew his hyung could be grumpy and unsociable, but he was nice sometimes. Over the past four centuries that they’d been living together, he’d run into Hoseok a few times since his room was the closest to the other vampire. When Hoseok was in a chatty mood, they often spent hours together just talking about stuff, and Hoseok was actually happy enough to share details about what it had been like in the past – provided, of course, that Jungkook didn’t ask too many questions about his mate.
Hearing you come down the stairs, Seokjin was quick to shut the discussion down. “Stop it,” he said firmly. “You know Hoseok is struggling, and you should be more understanding,” he rebuked.
“He’s been struggling for four hundred years,” Taehyung muttered under his breath, though everyone heard it. “You’d think he’d get over whatever it is he’s moping about by now.”
Only your arrival stopped Yoongi from leaping clear across the dining table at Taehyung.
“Good evening, everyone,” you chirped, not noticing the tense atmosphere. When they merely turned to you, still wearing somber frowns, you stopped short. “Is everything okay?” you asked tentatively, standing by the entryway of the dining room.
Your question seemed to break the oppressive air. “Of course everything’s fine,” Seokjin told you, smiling warmly. The others made varying noises of assent, and the mood shifted back to normal, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that they were hiding something from you.
It seemed it wasn’t only the Guild that had its secrets it wanted to keep. The sense that you were out of your depth grew.
------------------------------
“Hoseok-hyung?” Jungkook stood outside Hoseok’s door, a bundle of blood bags in his hands. He hadn’t seen Hoseok leave his room in ages, and figured that his stash had to be running low by now. He didn’t bother knocking or raising his voice, knowing that his brother would hear him just fine.
Hoseok had actually heard him coming down the hall but was steadfastly ignoring him. Still in bed, huddled under the covers, he stayed as quiet as possible so that Jungkook would give up and leave. He’d heard every word of the conversation earlier, of course, and didn’t much feel like talking about you or your cat. Maybe he’d been a little rude to you, but it was for your own good (and his). He didn’t need to be scolded like a recalcitrant child.
“Hyung?” Jungkook was nothing if not tenacious, and Hoseok knew he was going to leave easily.
“Go away,” Hoseok growled.
“Come on, hyung, I brought some food for you,” Jungkook tried to cajole the older vampire.
Starvation must be weakening his willpower, because Hoseok capitulated easily enough even though he didn’t need the blood. His fridge was still full; he hadn’t even tried drinking for about two weeks. “Fine, come in.”
Jungkook opened the door slowly, peering in. It was pitch black, but that didn’t bother him – vampires had excellent night vision, after all. Still, it took him a moment to locate Hoseok, buried under a mountain of blankets and pillows.
“You doing okay there, hyung?” Jungkook asked cautiously, padding across the room.
“Yeah,” Hoseok grunted, although it was clearly a lie. Even though Hoseok was mostly covered up, Jungkook could see the way his cheekbones had hollowed slightly and hear the slight tremor in his voice, as if speaking was too much effort for him.
“Jesus, hyung, what’s going on with you?” Concerned now, Jungkook picked up his pace and was at Hoseok’s bedside in a matter of seconds.
“Nothing, just go away,” Hoseok groaned, pulling the covers over his head. The last thing he needed was for Jungkook to realise what was going on and blab to everyone in the house. It wasn’t like there were many things that could cause vampires to become sickly like this, and the deterioration was happening so quickly that there really was only one explanation. Even if Jungkook didn’t know, the older vampires would, and he wasn’t ready for that.
“Come on, you look awful,” Jungkook begged. “Are you okay?”
“What are you going to do, find a doctor for me?” Hoseok snapped, though it lacked its usual heat because he didn’t have the energy.
“I can get Namjoon-hyung,” Jungkook responded. Actually, maybe he should get him anyway. He’d know what to do.
“No!” Hoseok exclaimed, poking his head out from the covers. “No, don’t,” he repeated in a more measured tone.
“Hyung, you look awful,” Jungkook said, peering closer now. “Are you sure you don’t need any help?”
“I know what the problem is, and you can’t do anything about it.” Well, more like Hoseok was too stubborn to do anything about it, but it was the same difference in his mind.
“Really? What is it?” Far from being deterred by Hoseok’s words, Jungkook perked up curiously.
Hoseok groaned. “None of your business. Just go away.”
“Hyuuuung—” Jungkook, as the youngest, had learned that whining got him his way more often than not, and employed it now to try and coax the truth from his older brother.
This time, however, it didn’t work. Hoseok was determined to keep his secret, even if it cost him his life. Death would probably be better than the purgatory he was currently living in, anyway. Ducking back into his blanket burrito, he ignored Jungkook’s further entreaties, until finally the younger vampire had no choice but to leave, dejected and more worried than ever.
-----------------------------
After your meal, everyone went their own separate directions, as usual. You, on the other hand, requested to speak to Seokjin privately after the meal. He accepted your request, and you made your way to the study together.
On your way there, Seokjin, ever the polite gentleman, inquired after your wellbeing at the manor, and asked whether there was anything he could do to make your stay more comfortable. You demurred, of course. Even though you were thoroughly enjoying your time at the manor, you were still confused about why they treated you so well, since you were technically here on work and not a guest. Although in all fairness, you had to acknowledge, it wasn’t like you’d been doing much work around here.
Well, that was going to change tonight, you told yourself. You’d decided to ask Seokjin what he knew about the recent spike in vampire attacks, and whether there was anything he could do. At the very least, you’d find out more about the dynamics of the vampire world. Killing every vampire that you chanced upon, while necessary for the safety of the public, wasn’t exactly the best way to understand the supernatural.
Seokjin settled into his seat behind the desk and you sank into the now-familiar chair in front of him. “Now,” he said, his fingers steepled together. “What did you want to ask me?”
You cleared your throat, wishing you’d had some diplomatic training or something before being thrust into this situation. “Well,” you started, trying to project more confidence than you were actually feeling. “It’s come to my attention that the vampire attacks on the public have increased in number and severity.”
He hummed thoughtfully. “Is that so?”
“That’s what my contacts at the Guild have told me,” you confirmed. “I just wanted to bring this to your attention, if you didn’t already know.”
Truth be told, he was very aware of what was going on outside the walls of the manor. The vampires living here (minus Hoseok, of course) took turns going out to stock up on supplies and observing. Taehyung and Namjoon had been on one such trip the night they’d found you.
However, “We aren’t typically in the habit of interfering in the events that occur outside the manor,” he informed you smoothly.
You frowned, confused. “You’re not?” That was new.
“No,” he confirmed. “There’s a reason why we retreated here.” His expression tightened as he said it, like he’d tasted something sour, and you knew that whatever it was, it was a traumatic memory for him.
That led to more questions in your mind, though. If they didn’t have anything to do with what was happening outside the manor walls, then why were you here? Obviously, the Guild Head had wanted you out of the way, but he could have just had you dishonourably discharged or something if he was that upset. And why had they wanted you here in the first place? You were once again questioning everything after having complacently accepted things for so long.
Seokjin could probably tell from your expression that you were about to implode as your mind went into overdrive. “I can find out what’s happening if you insist, though,” he said hastily. The last thing he needed was for you to start asking questions and getting all belligerent again.
Your brow furrowed. That was a very rapid 180-turn. “Really?” you asked suspiciously, wondering if he was just trying to placate you.
He was, but now that he was committed, he had every intention of following through. It wouldn’t be as difficult as you thought – he was pretty sure he knew what was going on anyway. The only thing he didn’t know was why.
“Yes, you have my word,” he promised.
“All right,” you accepted. “Thank you.”
He nodded, and you could tell from the subtle way his gaze drifted away from you that he was busy thinking about something else and you were being dismissed. “I won’t take up any more of your time, then,” you excused yourself to return to your own quarters.
------------------------------
Injeolmi was never pleased about being shut in your quarters alone for too long, and you didn’t know why, since your rooms here were much more spacious and luxurious than the tiny room you’d lived in at the Guild. He’d never even left your room then, so your only conclusion was that you were spoiling him way too much.
When you opened the door, he ran to you, meowing excitedly, and you rolled your eyes. “You’re such a drama queen,” you reprimanded him playfully, though you were happy enough to pick him up for a cuddle. Still carrying him, you walked over to the coffee table, where you’d left your phone.
Your chat history with Jennie was filled with mostly mindless chatter as you updated her on what you’d been up to at the manor. Gardening with Namjoon, learning how to cook from Seokjin, music lessons with Yoongi… you were excited to tell her about it all.
The last message was you telling her that you had to leave to have dinner with the boys. She’d left you on read after that, but you didn’t mind, excited to tell her your news.
Y/N: Talked to Seokjin, he says he’ll look into it!
Jennie: Did he explain anything?
Y/N: No, but he said he’d look into it.
Jennie: That doesn’t sound like much of a commitment. People are dying.
Y/N: I trust him, unnie.
Jennie: Enough to bet the lives of the hunters?
You paused. That was a strange and extreme way to look at it, you thought. Weren’t you all fighting on the same side here?
Y/N: What’s that supposed to mean?
You saw the dots that indicated Jennie was typing appear, then disappear, then appear again. This happened a few more times, and you were sure she was going to leave you on read again, when a message popped up.
Jennie: You remember that they’re vamps, right?
Y/N: I know, but they’ve been really nice. Maybe vamps aren’t that bad.
You hesitated before sending that last message. It might not be what Jennie wanted to hear, but you thought she needed to know. Being here had really changed your perspective on vampires, and you hoped she would trust you enough to understand where you were coming from. After all, hunters lived a life of discipline, filled with sacrifice and death. All of you accepted that this was necessary, but… what if it wasn’t? What if you could set all the hunters free from their burdens?
Jennie didn’t reply after that. You sighed, but it wasn’t entirely unexpected. She’d probably need some time to process things, which you fully understood. After all, it had taken a while for you to accept that there was more to vampires than you knew before, and you were living here among them, able to see with your own eyes that the things you’d been taught at the Guild weren’t necessarily true.
You’d try to talk to her again tomorrow, you decided, putting down your phone. Injeolmi meowed, pawing at your hand to ask for pets, and you turned your attention to him.
-----------------------------
Jennie ran through the corridors of the Guild, tears streaming down her face. In her panic, it felt like her mind had fizzled out – she couldn’t think about anything but the last sentence you’d texted her. For weeks, she’d been defending you against the Head’s accusations that you’d defected and become a vampire sympathizer despite her personal doubts.
This was too much, though. How could she possibly ignore this?
She burst through the door of the Head’s office without knocking. It was an egregious violation of etiquette, but she couldn’t think about that right now.
Master Bang emerged from his bedroom door, off to the side of his office. He looked flustered, like he’d been caught doing something wrong, but Jennie was too worked up to think about what that meant right now.
“What is the meaning of this, Jennie-yah?” he reprimanded, frowning.
She ignored his scolding. “Sir,” she gasped, folding herself into a deep bow. “I’m sorry. I think Y/n has defected.”

Summary: Seungwoo covers up corruption and you are an activist in your spare time.
Also known as Seungwoo’s life as your employer
A week ago...
“Are you fucking kidding me?“ Lee Dongwook hurls the glass of bourbon to the wall. It crashes immediately, leaving a stain of brown liquid dribbling down the floor.
He combs his hand through his hair, breathing hard. Hangyul notices the tips of his father’s ears are red in anger and takes a step back instinctively. This reaction is unexpected. In fact, if he’s being honest, he has never seen his father react this harshly before. The urge to ask what’s wrong threatens to overcome him, but self-preservation dictates that he leave now. So, that’s what he tries to do until his father takes notice of his presence.
“What do you want, Hangyul?“ his father growls.
The sound sends shivers up his spine. This man suddenly feels like a stranger.
Dongwook walks around the desk to approach him and Hangyul almost bolts out of the room. Still, a big part of him tells him to remain where he is, unless he wants to make his father angrier than he already is.
“What the fuck do you want, Hangyul? I’m busy.“
His father easily towers over him and he steps back ever so slightly just so he doesn’t need to look up so much, “Seungwoo hyung called. He said—”
“Your brother cost us twenty-five billion won,“ Dongwook hisses, “Twenty-five billion!“
Hangyul pales. He has just gotten off the phone with his older brother and while he knows that Seungwoo has failed with something, he has no idea that much money has been involved. That’s more or less three percent of all of their net worths combined. Sure, it sounds like it won’t make much of a dent in their business but the fact that that much money has been lost not because a deal has fallen through but because it has been taken into police custody shows how grave exactly the situation is.
“Has...has anybody talked yet?“ he stutters. His father’s rage might be petrifying right now, but Hangyul doesn’t plan on waiting what else will unfold if the worst happens.
Dongwook shakes his head. “I don’t know,” he walks back to his desk to take his phone, “No one’s answering my calls and the men working for our friend, Tony Yu, have all been detained by the police. They haven’t made any calls outside since.”
“I thought Seungwoo hyung was supposed to take care of that meeting?“
“Every single one of the men on that port were booked by the police except for your brother. Once he gets back, take him straight to me. He needs to explain himself.“
Hangyul’s blood runs cold. “What are you saying, dad?“
His father turns to him darkly and he feels sweat breaking on his forehead.
“Just get it done, Hangyul,“ Dongwook snaps.
There’s no point in arguing with him, Hangyul realizes. So, he simply nods, “Okay, dad.”
It’s already nightfall by the time Seungwoo gets back. Seungyoun and the others have tried asking Hangyul about what has happened, but he can’t bring himself to even speak the words. So, he chooses to stay silent until he hears his older brother go through the gate. A part of him wants to rush down the driveway and turn Seungwoo away but a bigger part of him wants to see this through and to see the truth for himself. Hangyul knows, if he doesn’t find out what has happened this morning, his mind will never be able to get some peace and quiet.
Seungwoo gets out of the car with none of that confident aura he usually has. His collar is rumpled, hair disheveled like somebody has run their hands through it a couple times. Normally, this is Hangyul’s cue to tease Seungwoo because he looks exactly like how anyone would look like if they had some old-fashioned fun in the car on the way there, but this isn’t a normal night. So, Hangyul waits for another door to open until he has waited too long and still, nothing happens.
“Are you gonna keep standing there, Gyul?“ his older brother’s voice snaps him out of it.
Hangyul turns to him, “No assistant tonight, hyung?”
“No,” Seungwoo gives him a straight, no-nonsense look, his voice hard.
He puts both his hands up in the air not much unlike how Seungyoun does and shrugs. “I was just asking, hyung,”
“Right,“ Seungwoo bites, “Where’s dad?”
Hangyul breaks eye contact with him, whether because it feels like he’s bringing him to his execution or because he has seen neither his eldest brother nor his dad become furious until tonight, he doesn’t know. All he knows is that he just wants to get this night over with so they can finally go back to the family they used to be.
“He’s in the study,“ Hangyul answers, “I’ll go with you.“
This stops Seungwoo in his tracks. Gone is his aggression from before. He now looks worried, and if Hangyul knows his brother any better, he would say scared, but their eldest brother never gets scared. So, Hangyul surmises it must be the lighting outside. After all, it’s already dark.
Seungwoo leads the way — as he always has since they have been children. Hangyul doesn’t mind, either. They have all followed their eldest brother’s lead for as long as he can remember. Strong and confident Seungwoo hyung, Hangyul thinks. He has always been a leader through and through. So, when he turns around with unsure, nervous eyes before they enter their father’s study, Hangyul is alarmed. Suddenly, he is also unsure and slightly afraid.
“What’s wrong, hyung?“ he whispers.
But his brother doesn’t get to answer, because as soon as he starts to part his mouth, the door to the study suddenly opens with their father glaring at the both of them right inside.
“Everything,“ Dongwook growls.
All that jiu-jitsu training and Hangyul still isn’t prepared for what happens next. Seungwoo barely makes a step forward before he is greeted by their father’s fist to his face. He staggers backwards and almost falls over from the impact, but Hangyul braces himself as support behind his brother and eventually helps him regain his footing.
“Dad,“ Seungwoo wipes on his lip and winces, “Calm down.“
They both get inside the study and Hangyul locks the door behind him.
“You stupid, stupid boy!“ Dongwook charges at Seungwoo again, but this time, Hangyul steps forward to stop him.
Hangyul, considerably shorter than their father, visibly struggles to keep him at bay, “Dad, stop it!”
But Dongwook’s anger is unrelenting and soon enough, he slips past Hangyul to swipe at his first born once more. His fists only catch air and this is when the two brothers realize that their father is wobbly and his eyes are unfocused. One quick glance at the tray where he keeps his bourbon tells Seungwoo that their father definitely has had one too many. So, they both approach him and sit him on a chair, albeit his rather faint resistance.
“Do you have any idea,“ their father pants, “what you have done, Seungwoo?“
The sudden defeat in Dongwook’s eyes alarms Hangyul as he stares back to both of his sons. It is only then that Hangyul realizes that it’s not sweat dripping down their father’s neck but hot, wet tears. Now, in all the years he’s known his father, it is only once that he’s seen him cry. Seeing him shed tears right now, all the more tightens the tension that Hangyul has been feeling since this morning.
Hangyul takes a glance at his brother to see if he’s feeling the same, but Seungwoo’s face is as cold as ice, unreadable. His brother takes a handkerchief from his pocket and wipes down their father’s face and neck. Dongwook doesn’t resist, but he can tell that he’s uncomfortable being taken care of by his sons.
“I’ll fix this, Dad,“ Seungwoo finally says when he’s done, “Let me handle it.“
Dongwook shakes his head slowly. Although, Seungwoo doesn’t see because he has already walked towards the door. Hangyul thinks the fatigue from the entire day must have finally caught up to him because his normally broad shoulders now look slumped and petite.
“They’ll come after you,” their father suddenly rasps, struggling on sitting more upright on the chair.
Seungwoo looks back, a determined look dancing on his face, “I know. Let them.“
Hangyul hasn’t slept that night.
Present time...
Sweat drenches her neck and back as she takes the zillionth rest tonight. Her tank top clings to her skin in that annoying, disgusting way only sweat-drenched clothes ought to make, but it doesn’t faze her. Nothing can faze her right now when all she wants is to keep hitting that stupid punching bag until she’s too tired to give anything a second thought. Her mind is a one-way street and nothing can take that away from her right now — or so she thinks.
“That’s enough already, YN,“ a hand stills the sack of sand in front of her.
She almost punches Yohan in the face when he steps between her and the bag. She decides against it, though. His admirers will weep at his pretty face getting all banged up, she thinks.
So, instead, she makes a face at him, “Just one more hour, please?”
But Yohan shakes his head, “You’ve been at it since three in the afternoon. It’s already seven.”
“What?“
He gives her an incredulous look, “It’s 7pm, YN. What the hell are you thinking throwing punches for four hours?“
“I was...training,“ she finally brings down the fists that she realizes she’s still holding up.
A sharp pain shoots up her shoulders and she almost falls over if not for Yohan bracing himself for support. He wordlessly takes her gloves off and inspects her fingers with her watching his face for any reaction all the while. He has always known her better than anyone else, even better than Minhee, but now she wonders if he can still tell what’s on her mind.
Yohan uncurls her hands and makes a tsk sound when she gasps in pain, “You really never know when to stop,” he comments as he meets her in the eye.
On any other day, she would’ve taken that comment lightly, but right now that she’s at her most sensitive, angriest state thus far, she can’t make herself let go. So, she takes her hands from Yohan and shoots him a glare.
“What’s that supposed to mean?“ she asks, challenging.
The defensive tilt of her chin obviously surprises Yohan and it infuriates her even more when he doesn’t engage, “It’s just that. Nothing else.”
She grabs the gloves from his hands and tries to goad him on, “You meant something more and you know it. What are you saying, Yohan?”
The girl isn’t usually belligerent like this. In all of her bravado in “exposing” the Lee family, deep inside, she’s not a confrontational person. Not really. That’s why she knows her behaviour surprises Yohan right now. As ugly as it can be to admit it, but she can’t really bring herself to care. Not right now. She’s been simmering in anger since this morning and she needs release. So, as he fixes the other equipments in the gym, she follows suit to pester him some more.
“Just tell me, Yohan,“ she sighs, arms crossed against her chest.
It must have been the stale air in the gym or the darkness outside the glass panes or the thought that she might have intentionally wanted to vent all her anger on him because she knows he’ll never get mad at her no matter what but the second Yohan turns to face her again, she sees a whole new side of this man she’s been friends with for so long. And almost immediately, her heart becomes a hummingbird trapped in a cage as he takes a hand to the side of her face.
The girl tries to backpedal, “Fine, let’s just drop it.”
But it’s too late now. Yohan steps closer to her — so close that she can smell the faint scent of his perfume. He stoops down to her level so they are now face to face. The hummingbird in her chest is now trying to peck its way out.
“No, you wanted me to talk, right?“ Yohan asks as his eyes bore into her own.
She doesn’t answer. She is frozen in place.
There is a mix of anger and sadness when Yohan speaks again, “You let yourself fall too hard, YN.”
“What?“ she stutters, confused and nervous.
Yohan still has his face inches away from hers and little by little, she feels the discomfort crawl up her body like a vine. She wants to slap herself. There is no need to provoke Yohan and yet she already has. And now, she doesn’t know what to do.
“You know exactly what I’m saying, YN,“ he whispers.
“No, I don’t...“
Yohan smirks, “Liar. You were so angry a moment ago. Why?”
This time, she finally averts her gaze. So, that’s how it is, she thinks. Yohan notices her reaction. He stretches up and steps away from her still smirking. This Yohan isn’t unknown to her, but he sure is unfamiliar. Especially, because he’s being like that to her. He’s never been like that to her.
Now, it’s Yohan who crosses him arms. “It’s about him, isn’t it?”
“Seungwoo has nothing to do with—“ her hands fly up to cover her mouth but they both have already heard all there is to hear.
Yohan shakes his head in disdain, “You love him.”
He doesn’t say it as a question, but she still gets the need to deny it, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
It doesn’t convince him, though. “You love him,” he repeats.
“Stop it, Yohan!“ the girl cries.
“Have the courage to say it to my face, at least,” he whispers, sounding strained, “Say it to the person who has been with you when everyone else couldn’t be there.”
“There’s nothing to say...” her breaths come out in gasps as she clutches her chest and heaves. It’s hard not to start crying but she manages not to for a while.
“Say it to the person whom you have so conveniently taken to your side to give you the love and affection that you craved but couldn’t give back,” Yohan’s voice is sharper, like he’s gritting his teeth, but she can’t know for sure because the second he’s started speaking again, her tears are welling up and she’s choking out sobs faster than she can breathe.
She mumbles something softly.
“What?“ Yohan takes in a sharp breath.
The girl lifts her head up, tears streaming down her face, “I said,” she whimpers, “You’re right.”
Yohan smiles bitterly. He covers a trembling hand over his mouth, but he manages to get out a small “thank you” before pulling away.
For the first time in their friendship, Yohan has turned his back on her as she cries. A part of her wants to beg for him to stay, to tell her everything is going to be okay and that they’ll fix whatever problem it is that they have right now but a bigger part of her knows that’s nearly impossible. So, she lets him leave. She doesn’t even follow her with her gaze. She just stands in the middle of the gym, tears pooling around her feet and she realizes she has just committed the biggest blunder of her life.
She’s fallen in love with Han Seungwoo.
A/N: I wanted to make this longer but school stuff is taking it’s toll and I wanted to post an update already. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy!
Also, I’ve been thinking of using 2nd POV in my next fic, 3rd person is so hard to write, I have come to realize. What do you guys think? Would you stlll read it if it’s in 2nd POV? Or do you prefer my works as it is?

notes: word counts are included with each individual answer! completed for +5 tracker points.
assuming your muse has changed in some way, be it internally or as a result of a change of the external factors around them, how is your muse different? these can be as small as an opinion on a song they hadn’t released previously or as big as a major change in their background. word count: 261.
minhee’s childhood prior to becoming a trainee is pretty much the exact same as before the restructuring. dance prodigy says fuck u crazy dance mom, i’m not gonna be maddie ziegler, and ends up becoming an idol. she started training a year earlier than before though, so she had a slightly longer training process! i think the most obvious change to everyone else is her faceclaim, which is now lee hyeri. buuuut if you take a look at her pages or app or anything else, you’ll see that she’s now a main dancer, lead vocal & rapper, rather than being a main dancer, lead rapper & vocal! this was sort of a selfish change on my part, because i wanted to open her up to some opportunities for solo work that wouldn’t have suited her before because of her position, but that would’ve fitted more along the lines of what i initially imagined for her image than the options actually available to her. she’s also been a lot happier for a lot longer, because instead of debuting with a concept she hated, minhee got to debut in ... an age appropriate group! if you look here, you can see some examples of what i thought of when thinking of minhee’s ideal group and ... yeah, lily lines up with that pretty well. not perfectly, but pretty well. she’s still dealing with her issues surrounding her family, her sexuality and her fear of aging, but for the most part, minhee’s a lot more settled, or even satisfied, in terms of her career.
what does your muse think of their company and their group? word count: 255.
let’s start with lily, minhee’s beloved. she loves her members, she loves the overwhelming majority of their songs, and she’s proud as hell of the legacy they’ve built up for themselves so far. to be honest, sometimes she it just hits her that oh shit, she’s minnie from lily! and oh shit, they’re basically the biggest girl group ever. no one tell her that candy inherited nation’s girl group or that ultraviolet are taking over the world, let her be dumb. no, but genuinely, she can’t believe the scale of what they’ve achieved sometimes. she doesn’t totally feel like she deserves all the love she gets. then there’s the company behind it all; bc entertainment. she wonders all the time if her mother would’ve went along with everything if it was any other company that minhee came home with a callback from. probably not. for that alone, she’s thankful. she sort of dislikes being portrayed as perfect and untouchable -- more silly and down to earth than a lot of her peers under the company, but still. it’s just part and parcel of bc’s status. the reason it gets to her is that she’s very much not that perfect girl next door that the company wants her to be, and she puts a lot of pressure on herself to live up to it. as such, minhee probably doesn’t take advantage of all of the resources being under bc allows her access to as much as she should, choosing instead to just grin and bear it.
is your muse on their first contract or their second? if they’ve renewed, what were their feelings around that at the time and what were their hopes for their second contract? if they haven’t renewed, what are their current thoughts on the end of their eventual first contract? word count: 260.
minhee is on her second contract. she renewed with bc in 2019 for a further seven years, which doesn’t feel like that long of a time. seven years seemed like a liftetime when she signed her debut contract in 2012, but it went by pretty fast for her. finding out what the rest of her members were doing was the most important thing for minhee when choosing whether or not to renew. with lily’s status in the industry, the money she made over the previous years, and the wealth belonging to her family, she felt confident that she’d be okay no matter what happened. a safety net. but her preference was always going to be to continue with the rest of lily if possible. she wouldn’t have forced the issue if the others didn’t want to though ... at least not on purpose. knowing minhee, she probably would’ve been crying all over the place and ended up messing with everyone’s plans like that. maybe she would’ve put out an ad like, “nation’s girl group in search of new agency. must be willing to take in four fully grown women and meet all of their demands.” as for the terms in her second contract, minhee was looking for some more royalties and some reassurance that lily would continue to receive the levels of resources and investment that they were already receiving from the company, as well as more opportunities for her to grow as a soloist. she didn’t want them falling by the wayside. she’s too young to be washed up!
what are your muse’s goals and motivations? word count: 259.
in terms of her career, minhee actually has some pretty lofty ambitions. her top two focuses are solo music and modeling, and they’re basically split an even 50/50. she wants to continue releasing upbeat solo songs, but as for the music itself, aside from some dabbling in lyrics, she’s happy to leave it to the professionals. her primary interest, aside from the obvious performance and promotion aspects, lies in developing her own choreography. for her own songs firstly, but also for lily’s songs, and maybe even others within the company. outside of bc remains to be seen. she’s been really inspired over the years by a lot of the dancers and choreographers that she’s worked with, even from before entering bc, and she’d like to inspire someone else some day too! and modeling ... i can’t lie, minhee just likes looking pretty and getting free stuff, so she’d like to do some more of that.
as for her personal life ... messy as hell! she still really wants to find love but still only goes looking for it with fuckboys. she wants to get closer with her dad and her extended family, but is finding it difficult to pull off while also keeping her mother at arm’s length. she also can’t help antagonising her mother because she’s a dumb brat. i don’t think minhee realises it yet, but she’s slowly coming to a place of self acceptance too. when she does realise it, i think that’s something that will really motivate her to be the best she can be.
what is one conflict, internal or external, that your muse is currently dealing with, has recently dealt with, or will need to deal with in the future? word count: 262.
i’ve talked in depth about minhee’s conflict over her sexuality here, which all still holds true, but i want to take this opportunity to talk about something else very close to my heart concerning minhee that i’ve mentioned once or twice in passing but never explicitly. minhee is autistic. she just doesn’t know it yet. some fun mun trivia is that i’m autistic! but, as is typical for a lot of afab people, i was basically an adult by the time it was diagnosed. you might say, hey sucy, stop projecting on your muses, but i say no! write what you know and all that. it’s kind of ironic though, because not even i realised minhee could very well be autistic until i’d written her for two years, and deciding took me another. and now she has to go through the diagnostic process again in character, smh me. anyways, yeah, minhee is probably going to have it suggested to her pretty soon while seeking some help for her anxiety about aging, and after that she’s gonna have to recontextualise her whole life because it’s truly like a lightbulb moment for a lot of people, myself included. suddenly everything that was weird to you growing up makes sense. it’s kind of a lot to wrap your head around, and would be for anyone, so writing about that for minhee is going to be interesting. i mentioned above that she’s been kind of moving towards self acceptance anyways, and i think this will be a very big turning point for her on that journey.
if your muse has established career claims, what are their thoughts on their career so far? if they do not, how do they feel about not having individual activities yet? what would they like to do in the future, if anything? if they don’t have ambitions for individual activities, explain why. word count: 277.
she does! her individual activities consist of modeling jobs and a couple of variety show cast positions, because i felt that these were the avenues she would’ve been pushed down up until more recently in her career, when her interest in choreographing for herself would’ve really taken off. minhee has really enjoyed her career so far. she feels settled within the entertainment industry, and that type of security is so sexy to her. the less chance that her mother can say i told you so the better.it’s kind of a big difference for her in terms of character actually, but this incarnation of minhee likes being on variety shows! she’s actually confident appearing on them! this is because of the difference in concept between lily and lipstick. lipstick’s minnie’s confidence took a long time to build up. lily’s minnie’s didn’t. she’d like to be on more variety shows in the future, especially something competition based, like dancing with the stars ... or masterchef, for a laugh, because she’d be the first person eliminated. and then, there’s the modeling. as mentioned a couple of questions ago, it’s something she wants to focus pretty tightly on going forward. her favourite brand that she’s been the ambassador for so far is crocs. she loves her crocs. she has, like, five different colours. crocs, please sign minhee again. working with etude house and kloud was pretty cool too though. sometimes she’s still able to swing free beers when she goes out. so, going forward, she wants to continue with those types of gigs, as well as pursuing more solo music and developing her skills as a choreographer, like i mentioned earlier!

Getting Off The Wrong Foot
[Christian Yu | Chapter IX ]
Tumblr media
Previous Chapters:
Chapter I | Chapter II | Chapter III | Chapter IV | Chapter V | Chapter VI | Chapter VII | Chapter VIII
Of course it was only a matter of time Kiseok would seek you out. It wasn’t like him to stay quiet and act like he didn’t know you. No, he had to make sure you knew he was there as well.
“Minho called me yesterday. Apparently you haven’t told your family that we broke up. I wonder why.”
No ‘hello’, no unnecessary small talk, no - Kiseok aimed straight for humiliation.
Minho was your younger brother. He always got along well with Kiseok who would treat him like his own little brother. Kiseok would take him backstage and let him meet his favorite rappers. He admired Kiseok a lot and always looked up to him. At one point he even wanted to be a rapper just like him. But you asked Kiseok to talk it out of him. You knew the industry too well and you didn’t want your baby brother to be any part of it. Luckily it worked and he went to go to college instead.
“What would he think when he finds out his big sister is sleeping around?“
“Leave him out of it“ you hissed at him with a warning glare. Kiseok knew better than to mess with your family, especially your brother. He didn’t have it easy growing up. He was bullied a lot in middle and high school and you had failed to protect him. Living on a different continent you didn’t know what was happening, you only found out after he had graduated. You never really forgave yourself for that. Kiseok knew, he knew all of it, yet he chose to make him a subject of this conversation.
“You’re the one lying to him, not me,“ he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.
“What. Do. You. Want?“ You sharply demanded him to get to the point emphasizing every word. You weren’t in the mood to argue, especially not here in front of everyone.
“Is he bigger than me?“ Kiseok taunted you with a smug smirk planted on his face. He had changed the topic out of nowhere, catching you off guard.
“Excuse me?“ Your eyes widened at him in disbelief, daring him to repeat the question he had just asked you. Of course he would behave like this. Letting you move on in peace was just not an option for him. You didn’t expect anything else from him, but as a public figure he should know the time and place to start fights. This was not it. You were in the middle of the newly opened store, surrounded by dozens of people.
“Is the sex better with him?  Because I seriously doubt that. Nobody knows you like I do,“ he whispered into your ear.
“Grow up, Kiseok,“ you rolled your eyes at him and let out a brief chortle. You pushed him away from you and took a step back to increase the distance. No, not this time. You wouldn’t let him get to you this time. You weren’t going to play this stupid game of his. You turned away from him, intending to walk away from this conversation, but the thing he said next felt like he had pierced a knife right through your chest.
“I knew you were insecure. I didn’t know you had that little self respect.“
“Hurting me once wasn’t enough, huh? Now you have to insult me in public too?“ You raised your voice at him as the anger boiled up inside of you.
“Just saying you could do better.“ “Jealous that I moved on?“
“Oh please, we both know he’s just a rebound. He just using you for sex and you think he actually cares about you.“
“Well, at least now I don’t have to fake it,“ you retorted callously, knowing this would hurt his ego and make him feel insignificant. It was stupid and childish, but you wanted to win this fight that he had started.
“You’re lying to yourself if you actually think he could replace me.“
“I’m not trying to replace you, Kiseok. I’m so glad you’re out of my life. That’s the best thing that ever happened to me,“ you told him followed by a dry chuckle. You had dated him for long enough to know that he was only trying to provoke a reaction from of you, because he wanted to talk to you and the only way you would talk to him was for him to behave like a huge dick. You knew he probably didn’t mean what he was saying. But you were tired of it. Tired of having to consider his feelings, when he stepped on yours time and time again. No, you wanted your words to hurt the same way he had hurt you.
“People used to respect you when you were with me, now you’re just Christian’s hoe.“
“Fuck you, Kiseok. Seriously fuck you!“ You cursed at him, unconsciously raising your voice which had attracted the eyes of some spectators around you. But in that moment, you didn’t care that you were in a room full of people. You were just sick of it all, sick of having to endure this pain and sick of having to stand here while he was disrespecting you. “Ok, guys stop it now. People are already staring,“ Ju Kyung quickly got in between you and Kiseok, before you could hurt him physically which you certainly would have done. You were just seconds away from slapping him across the face. Ju Kyung held Kiseok by his shoulders, pushing him back while Jay stood in front of you, blocking both your way and your view. If people weren’t gawking at you earlier, they definitely were now. The four of you were probably the centre of attention right now. Jay stretched out his arm, gently wrapping it around you as he tried to push you a few steps back.
“Don’t butt into this,“ you gritted through your teeth, giving Jay a death glare.
“I’m not doing this for him. I’m doing this for you,“ Jay made you look at him, his voice remained calm and gentle. “Don’t give them something to gossip about.”
Your eyes wandered around the room as you swallowed down hard. The people in the room were already whispering to each other and you could feel their scrutinising gazes piercing right through you. Jay was right. You couldn’t lose it now, not here where everybody was waiting for something to happen so they  had something interesting to talk about.
“Fine,“ you let out a breath in defeat, trying to calm yourself down, to suppress the emotions that were gaining the upper hand of your actions. Without another word you turned your heels around and walked towards the backstage area where only selected staff members and artists had access to. Jay followed closely behind, as though he was too afraid to leave you out of sight. He quickly turned his head to Ju Kyung who was still attempting to get Kiseok under control and motioned him to take his label-mate home.
“Do you want something to drink?“ Jay asked you in a concerned tone when you had disappeared from the prying eyes. He didn’t know what else to say in this situation. You were a seething volcano on the brink of exploding. He couldn’t risking saying something to set you off. “Do they have vodka?“ You replied sarcastically, gaining a low chuckle from Jay.
“Are you ok?“ He then asked you in a serious tone, his eyes laying gently on you.
“I knew this wasn’t gonna be easy. But I really thought he would at least have that much respect for what we had that he wouldn’t cause a scene in public.”
“You know he didn’t mean it. He’s just hurt.“ “Stop defending him, Jay,“ you shook your head at him in disbelief. You just couldn’t fathom why everybody was treating Kiseok with kid gloves as though he was on the verge of shattering when he was the reason things turned out the way they had in the first place.
“In what world is his behaviour acceptable? He’s hurt? Well, he should be! He threw away everything we had! Why do I always have to be considerate towards his feelings? What about my feelings? He fucked someone else while he was with me and lied to me every single day.”
“I know you’re angry and hurt, Min. You have every right to be. I’m just saying that he’s made mistakes, but he’s not a bad person.” “And I am? For choosing myself over him for the first time? For standing up for myself?“ Fires of fury and hatred were smouldering in your small narrowed eyes as you shouted at him. “I didn’t say that,” he immediately denied. “That’s practically what you’re saying, Jay. You’re always shielding him and making me feel like my emotions are unjustified. That what I’m feeling is wrong.“
“That’s not what I mean, Minhee. Kiseok’s just been miserable since you’ve broken up with him.“ “Then stop. Stop excusing his behaviour. I’m angry too. I’ve been miserable too. I’m hurt too. I never loved someone like I loved him and he broke my heart. But I don’t go around insulting and embarrassing him in front everyone!“ “You slept with Christian,” he pointed out as though you sleeping with someone else was even comparable to the things that Kiseok had done to you. “Wow, now you’re slut shaming me too?“ You scoffed at him in disbelief, your eyes widening at him.
“No, Minhee, I’m not judging you or your decisions. It’s just…you knew how much this would hurt him. And you chose Christian out of every guy there is. You did it to get back at him.“
“What’s wrong about Christian?“ You raised your brows at him. “He doesn’t have the best reputation…Kiseok had already felt insecure when you worked with him for the first time a year ago. And you also know what he did to Ashley.“ “Oh okay, that’s what this it about,” you nodded your head, finally understanding. “This isn’t about Kiseok, but your feelings. You’re mad at me because I’m screwing someone who slept with Ashely? Then fucking say it, Jay. Don’t hide behind Kiseok, don’t use him as an excuse. If you have a problem with that, just say it.“
Jay remained silent, his gaze immediately dropping down on the floor. “It’s not like that,” he muttered under his breath.”
“Jay, you know I care about you. I don’t care if Kiseok has a problem with Christian and if I hurt his feelings by sleeping with him. But if I hurt yours…that’s a different story. No sex is that good, that I would risk our friendship.“
“It’s really not like that,” he shook his head again.
“Then what is it?”
“I’m just scared that you might get hurt again. He’s hurt someone I love once, I don’t want him to do it again.”

It certainly wasn’t the smartest decision to go outside dressed in only pants, a t-shirt and a thin blazer in the beginning of March and to sit down on the icy stone steps. But you needed to get away from the people, the turmoil and the noise. You needed space where you could be alone with your thoughts so you could sort things out. Suddenly you felt a soft fabric hugging your shoulders. You turned around and were greeted by the warmest smile.
“I heard you had a bitch fight with Kiseok,” Christian joked to ease your tension. You chuckled at him softly, before looking away embarrassed. You tugged your arms inside the sleeves of his jacket before you crossed them in front of your chest, trying to keep your body heat.
“Are you okay?“ His voice, just like the expression on his face changed. He sat down on the stairs next to you.
“Let’s end it,” you said out of the blue, completely disregarding his question. “End what?“ He cocked up his brows at you with a rather confused look on his face. “Whatever we have.“ “Friendship?“
You turned your head to the side, staring at him flabbergasted. You were surprised by his answer. Usually you were the person who opened up too quickly, got friendly too quickly, liked people too quickly. You were used to being the one who always gave but never received anything in return. Your friendship was only treasured when your help was needed, but the moment you were in need of something, they would turn the other way. It was a nice feeling for a change, to be appreciated. It was nice to know that he considered you as much a friend as you considered him.
“I meant sex.“
“So, friends without benefits then? I’m fine with that,” he nodded his head in agreement. “If you take sex away we don’t really have much in common, do we?. It’s not like we’re the best of friends.”
“I could name a few things. You’re passionate about your work. You’re a dog person. Lori loves you. We both have weird families…and we’re both attractive people,” he started off serious but quickly threw in a couple jokes which earned him another laugh from you.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.“ “Because of Kiseok?” He took a guess, his brows furrowed as his mouth turned grim. You shook your head and corrected him, “Jay." “I figured he didn’t like me that much,” Christian chuckled lightly. “He has been giving me death glares.”
You laughed again, giving him a gentle punch. You were trying to have a serious conversation with him, but he kept trying to mix a bit of humour into it.
“You’re always gonna live your life pleasing everybody else?“ “I’ve known him since forever. He’s someone I care about,” you tried to explain to him though you didn’t really expect him to understand. He didn’t seem to be the type of person who easily got attached to people like you did. “If he truly cared about you, he wouldn’t ask something like that of you.“ “He didn’t,” you clarified. “But I can see he’s hurt and it’s straining our friendship. I can’t lose any more people in my life.”
“He’s hurt because you’re living your life and trying to move one?” He asked, he didn’t even attempt to hide his mocking and sarcastic tone.
“Jay doesn’t like you and I get why. I mean, if we switched the roles and I was in Jay’s place, I wouldn’t want him to be friends with Kiseok’s side chick either.”
“I don’t understand,” Christian shook his head in confusion. He didn’t get what you were trying to say. “Me being friendly with you is about the same as him being friendly with Kiseok’s side chick. You did sleep with the person Jay loved most after all.”
“Are you talking about Ashley?” He tried to figure out the connection you were alluding at.
“You actually remember her name?“ There was a hint of surprise in your tone. “I like having sex, I’m not a brainless monster,” he replied, his tone was harsh. He almost seemed to be angry and offended by your remark. “Why did you sleep with her? I mean everybody knew they were dating. You must have known too. Making Jay Park your enemy isn’t the smartest decision.“ “Let’s be honest, they didn’t have the most stable relationship and it’s not like I forced her to do something she didn’t want.“
“I don’t understand,” your brows knitted in a frown as you inspected his face through narrowed eyes. “I mean you could have wooed any girl, but you purposely chose Jay’s girl. It doesn’t make sense.“
“They were broken up,” he pointed out which was probably true. Jay and Ashely were constantly on and off, it was hard to keep track. Even so everyone knew she was Jay’s girl, even if they weren’t seeing each other in that moment. Everyone knew the break up wouldn’t last long and eventually they would get back together. “For how long though?“ “Listen, not everything is what is seems.” “What is that supposed to mean?“ “You don’t know everything that goes on in a relationship, unless you’re actually part of of it. You know only what Jay had told you. Because he’s your friend and I don’t blame you for that. But that’s just one side of the story.“ “You’re saying he is lying?” You deduced. “No,” he shook his head at you gently. “I’m saying that we’re both not in the position to judge someone else or their relationship, no matter how much we think we know about them.“ “I’m not judging Ashley for sleeping with you.“ You snapped back. You were the last person who would judge a woman’s decision to have sex with someone. “You’re judging me, Minhee.“ “No, I’m not,” you denied right away shaking your head vigorously. “You are. You have been the moment we met. I thought you would stop once you get to know me. But you still want me to be that bad person so badly.“
“That’s not true...“ Your voice was a mere whisper at end of the sentence because you lost confidence in what you were saying. “I don’t blame you for that. I know what reputation I have and I get why you would have trust issues. I just thought that maybe I could prove you wrong and you would start seeing me with your own eyes, not through the eyes of others. Perhaps it was naive to think I could change your mind.“ “Why do you even wanna change my mind? Is it a game to you?“ You threw another accusation at him. Christian let out a bitter chuckle as he slowly shook his head at you again. “I am not Kiseok. You need to stop projecting the fears you had with him onto me. Because I am not him,” he emphasised each and every word.
“I know, but I’m just trying to understand the motivation behind your actions.“ “You don’t. If you really want to understand you would ask different questions. But your interrogation is based on the very fact that you think I’m a bad person who enjoys playing with other people’s heart.“ “I don’t think you’re a bad person. I wouldn’t spend time with you, if that were true,” you tried to prove him wrong, but who were you kidding? The rumors you had heard about him did prejudice you against him even if you didn’t want to admit it.
“Then why are you asking me why I did it? Why are you not asking me if I did it?“
“Are you saying you didn’t sleep with her?“ You were utterly puzzled now. The more he said the more confused you got. “I’m saying you already have a picture of me inside your head. You don’t want to know the truth. You want to know the truth that fits your narrative.“
In a silence that followed, Christian pushed himself back on his feet. “I’m leaving. Keep the jacket, I don’t want you to get sick.”
“Christian, wait!” Your hand had reached out for him and grabbed onto his wrist before you realized what you were doing. You felt him flinch a bit under your touch, probably because your hands were icy cold. Your grip was loose, he could have easily shaken you off if he wanted to, yet he didn’t. Instead he stopped in his track and lowered his gaze, anchoring his attention on you again. He expected you to say something, but you didn’t. You didn’t know what to say. You didn’t even know why you held onto him in the first place. You were trying so hard to think of something to say, there was probably smoke coming out of your head -  that’s how hard your brain was working. Christian scanned your face for a reaction. One second, two seconds, three seconds had passed in utter silence.
“What?” He finally asked, prompting you to say something.
“Nothing,” you released him from your grip and pulled your hand back. Although there was nothing holding him back anymore, at least not physically, he stayed. He stood rooted to the spot as though he wanted to give you another chance to say something. But you never did. Eventually he let out a chuckle - a flat, one-syllable chuckle - before he shook his head disappointed and headed back inside the building.
Soooo what do you guys think will happen between Christian and Minhee? Let me know! I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts! Btw sorry for all the Simon D fans, I kinda had to make him a dick here, but maybe he will redeem himself?

Pairing ✩ Junmyeon & reader
Genre ✩ Fluff, slight angst
Word count ✩ 3.1k
Fluffy one shot for Junmyeon, requested by the lovely @weapinggwillowss ❤️
✩ I feel like this was requested so long ago and believe me I started writing the moment you requested for this. It took me so so long to finish it and I just needed to make it perfect, not that its perfect now but... hope you enjoy this. Anyway I am so sorry to keep you waiting, plus all the errors and spelling mistakes. I read through it couple of times but ended up changing a bit of here and there, I will recheck everything and correct them soon. Happy reading!! >.< ✩
✿ ✿ ✿
For a young CEO of several companies, Junmyeon’s parents have always wanted him to get a wife. Not just any wife but it should be someone with high statuses like him. Someone who knows what she wants, someone who doesn’t put her happiness first because it’s only a distraction from what’s important. And most importantly, someone who never make mistakes. At least that’s what his parents want.
What Junmyeon’s parents never think about ever, was his own happiness. His parents got married for only one reason, profit. But Junmyeon wanted something more than just a business deal, he wanted to love and to share his happiness with someone who would do the same for him. To start a new journey with him without any regrets. He wanted someone whom he wants to spend his entire life with.
So here you are, sitting on your couch with your baby blue blanket, warmly wrapped up while a hand holding onto a bowl of your favourite strawberry cereal, watching your favourite tv show.
Once you finished your bowl of cereal you got up and make your way to the kitchen to look for more food. Suddenly the phone in your hand lighted up telling you that a certain someone is texting you.
Myeonie♡: having problems with my parents, will be home late.
You: aww :(
Myeonie♡: sorry babe, please don’t wait for me, I love you.
You: Alright love you too, be safe.
You knew he meant go to bed early and not wait for him, but the bed would be too cold without him. So you boiled some water and cook some ramen.
About an hour later, you were halfway through a new episode of Friends when you started to yawn non stop, and the last thing you felt was your head gently falling onto something soft.
~~~
Junmyeon was so tired he swore he could just leave right there and then. He wanted to go home and walk right into your arms, the place where he would always feel safe, the place where all his problems and frustrations would just fly out of the nearest window. But instead all he could hear was how his parents kept persuading him into a marriage he was hoping he would never hear.
“Her name is Choi Minhee and she is very pretty and smart!”
“Yes, we even talked to her parents and they were more than happy to be on board!”
“It’s a good deal, not only for us but for you too.”
“There would be a new house up the hill ready for you two too-”
“Yes, we saw the house and it’s beautiful,”
“So if you accept this deal, the marriage will be held in the Grand Millennium Museum!”
Junmyeon knew it was a bad idea but he was so annoyed and angry at his parents, he just wanted them to stop babbling.
“I’m already dating someone.” He cuts them off and gave his parents a forced smile as they went speechless.
“W- what?”
“Junmyeon, what are you trying to say?” His mom asked with confusion and annoyance.
“I’m trying to say, that I already met someone that I love.” Junmyeon speaks softly and he immediately calmed his nerves as he thought of you. But that spark was immediately gone away as his father interrupts his little world.
“Son, you don’t mean tha-“
“I do.” the room was quiet and all Junmyeon could here was the repeated sighs coming from his father.
“What does she do? His father was straight forward and Junmyeon was hesitant to answer him, not because he was embarrassed about you but he knew he wouldn’t be able to handle his parents.
“She’s a researcher... and she loves being a writer too.”
“For how long?” His mother questions almost immediately as she didn’t want to believe the whole situation.
“Three years and half, almost four.” Junmyeon says it casually like he hasn’t been hiding a four year relationship with a girl they don’t even know exist.
“You kept it hidden from us for that long? That’s impossible Jun!” His mother scoffs as she was unimpressed.
“It’s possible because I never wanted you to know. But now that you do, I’ll be leaving.” Junmyeon responded as calm as he could but his mother did not.
“Is this thing of yours serious?” his mother pointed two fingers at him.
“Yes.” he let out a sigh as he replied.
“WELL IT BETTER NOT BE!!”
“Well it IS.” He said sternly as he walked down the three steps that leads up the dinning area.
“NO!! IT BETTER NOT BE. AND IF IT IS YOU NEED TO BREAK WHATEVER THIS IS OFF BECAUSE WE NEED YOU TO FOCUS, JUN!! NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO PLAY OR WASTE YOUR TIME!” His mother yelled at him as she stood up.
Junmeyon was about to walk away when she started screaming but all he could do was stop in his tracks and listen to what they have to say about you.
“This is exactly why we never want you to go on your own! Look what happened!!! You’re now sleeping with some girl you probably met at a bar.” His father speaked and he sounded more disgusted than disappointed.
“How old is she huh?! 23? 24? That’s usually how old most strippers these days are right?!” Junmyeon scrunched up his nose in disgust at his parents.
“No, maybe he met her at one of those whore house.”
“I bet she’s just a gold digger too.”
“SHUT UP!!!” He didn’t knew what exactly had happened but something in him snapped. He felt his blood boil at how his parents speak so lowly of you when they’ve never even met you once.
“YOU TWO ARE SICK SICK PEOPLE!! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT MY GIRLFRIEND LIKE THAT!!!” “How could you?” Junmyeon wanted to break down as he couldn’t stand his own heart breaking.
“My whole life, I just wanted the both of you to be proud of me, of the decisions I made, of the life I choose.” Junmyeon’s voice broke as he speaks barely above a whisper, but his parents could hear him clearly. “I did everything! I did everything you ever wanted me to. Take over companies, start new businesses, being successful, everything! I did everything I could to make you happy. But non of you cared about making ME happy. You don’t care about my feelings, my happiness. You both took everything away from me. And now that I finally found the one thing that makes me happy, you want to take that away from me too.”
Junmyeon took his car keys and coat in his hands as he walks towards the door.
“Jun-”
“You can hate her all you want, but just so you know, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I want to and I will give her everything she ever wanted. I don’t care if she’s poor or rich, I love her and you cannot stop me.” With that he left the house, leaving them shocked and surprised as they have never seen Junmyeon so angry before.
~~~
Junmyeon couldn’t go anywhere else but home as he wanted to see you so bad. He drove through the empty streets as it was already getting late. How long were they arguing for? He asked himself but his curiosity was replaced by anger again as he thought back about how they acted.
When he arrived home, he gently opened the door into the house you both shared, careful not to wake you up if you were sleeping soundly, even though the bedroom was one floor up. He made his way into the large living room as he heard the tv playing and saw a pair of legs dangling over the edge of the couch. He smiled as he looks at your beautiful face gently pressed against a blue blanket. He turned off the tv and carefully picked you up like you were something fragile.
You moaned softly in Junmyeon’s arms as you felt like your sleep was being interrupted.
“Shh, go to sleep baby.” He whispers to you.
He pushed the door open with his foot and walk in, placing you on the bed ever so softly and pulling the blanket over your body. He bend slightly to kiss your forehead and you stir in your sleep. Finally you open your eyes to find your prince over you smiling.
“You’re back.” You smiled at sit up as you try not to let sleep consume you again.
“Yes baby, now go back to sleep.”
“Come sleep with me.” You yawned and stretched your hands out to hold him.
“I’m dirty and I have to shower baby, I’ll be back before you know it.”
You closed your eyes and leaned against the velvet headboard. You were suddenly wide awake when you heard the water being turned on and 10 minutes later your body reacts before your mind did. You took off your clothes and went in the bathroom to join your bare boyfriend.
You open the shower door and your boyfriend watches you as you went under the water to wet yourself. Relaxing under the hot water, you suddenly felt Junmyeon’s arms wrapped around your waist from behind and kisses your neck. You turned around and place your hands on his toned chest and felt it flex under your touch. You could tell that something was wrong, he was sad. You didn’t know what happened at his parents house but you guessed something went wrong. You wanted nothing more than to comfort him and make him happy like the positive person he is.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and kisses his lips softly, he then deepened the kiss and pulled you up against him tighter. As soon as he pulled away to let you take a breath, his lips were on yours again. After about what felt like an hour but only ten minutes, you start to shiver and immediately Junmyeon turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around your body. You walked back out into the chill bedroom and put on some fresh clean clothes and went under the covers.
Once he got into bed with you, he hands went to your legs and caress the skin, his touches were so soft and delicate you could melt right then. You stare at his features when he was staring into space while his mind was somewhere else. You hated to see him like that, so lost in his own thoughts. He was always a very calm and collected person, this Junmyeon was someone who is confused, who for once wasn’t able to tell what happens next, someone who doesn’t know what to do because of his unpreparedness.
You were getting worried as his gentle touches became slower as he wonders off further, so you broke the silence that was making you uncomfortable.
“Babe, are you okay?” Your voice barely a whisper, afraid he might flinch at the sound of your voice.
“Yeah, I’m okay I promise.” His lips broke into a small smile and chuckled lightly at your concern.
“We’ve been together for almost four years now, you don’t think I could tell if there’s something bothering you?” He should be surprised, but he wasn’t. He knew you would immediately sense something wrong once you saw him, he was like an open book to you. So instead he look up and stared into your eyes and
“It’s my parents.” Was all he could let out before lightly sniffing and trying to hide his tears, but you could see them. His crystal clear eyes were watering and you swore your heart broke into a million pieces.
You took his hand in your small ones and gently rub against the smooth skin. “What did they say?” your voice careful, quiet as you don’t want to sound angry or pushy. Instead you let him talk when he’s ready, you gave him time to think and let them out.
He kept quiet, but he knew he was going to have to tell you sooner or later. “I...” you went on to hug him and tell him it’s okay and to take his time. “I told them...”
“I told them, about us.” you pulled away and looked at him, giving him a tiny smile. “I didn’t know what to do, I’m sorry.” He was sobbing so softly and was still trying to be strong for you, but you could look through him like a glass window.
“Hey, hey. It’s okay. You didn’t have to apologise Myeon. Shh, it’s okay.” At your soft whispers, he immediately bury his face in the crook of your neck, it’s his safe place where all his worries would go away. He continues to sniff lightly trying not to cry while you rub your hands against his back comforting him. You turn your head slightly and place kisses in his fluffy soft hair.
“They have a girl for me to marry, so I told them.” You were shocked and worried, but you didn’t know what to do or how to help him feel better, so you just hug him tighter as if he was going to disappear if you didn’t.
“I’m so sorry baby” your voice sounded more broken than you expected, but honestly why couldn’t you feel that way too?
You’re allowed to be sad or worry, he is a CEO of many companies, of course this would happen, you were not surprised. You kept quiet because you didn’t know how to feel about it, so instead you just kept rubbing your boyfriends back. You had many questions, is it official? Will they be getting married soon? Is she worth having Junmyeon’s love more than you do? Maybe if he just marry her, he wouldn’t be going through all these. He would be less in trouble, he wouldn’t have his parents nose up his business all the time. But then again, you couldn’t blame them, a normal girl like you don’t talk to important people like Kim Junmyeon. You were not rich nor successful, although you’re financially stable but Junmyeon was way out of your league. He is the kind of man that everyone loves, his charming personality, his kind and pure heart, his thoughtfulness and the list goes on and on. He is the kind of man women would get in line for, the kind that could easily get a girl falling for him hard. He was everything everyone wanted, but you were just a normal basic girl. You know how much he loves you but you can’t help and think if you are even worth his love and time.
“Babe?” Junmyeon brought you out of your nerve wrecking train of thoughts.
“Stop.” You looked at him confusingly as he told you all of a sudden.
“Stop doing that to yourself.”
“Do what?”
“Stop blaming yourself.”
“But myeon, if we didn’t-“
“Hey, I love you and this was bound to happen, whether my parents like it or not. Just please don’t blame yourself, it’ll kill me.”
You two were in a moment of silent before your curiosity kills you on the inside again.
“Myeon...” He couldn’t help himself but grab you by the waist and pin you against the soft sheets.
He chuckles lightly and smiled down lovingly at your beautiful face.
“Yes baby?” You couldn’t help the blush that crept up your cheeks. You turned away to avoid any eye contact, but your boyfriend slowly brought his hand up to hold your cheek and forced you to look at him.
“I was wondering... if... if we were never together-... would... would you marry her?” You knew, with every cell in your body, you knew he loves you and would never trade you for anything, ever. He loves you too much that nothing would break him more than losing you.
He closes his eyes for a moment and open them to look at you with full of love.
“I’m sure, fate would have bring you to me and we would fall in love and live together happily ever after.” He then proceeds to give you butterfly kisses all over your face and neck.
“But mye-“ his lips immediately went to your lips shutting you up, which you gladly give in and relaxes in his hypnotic touches.
“Sugar, please don’t think so much. I’m in love with you, don’t find a way to make yourself feel bad. I don’t care if I marry her, I don’t care if she would be the richest girl in the country, if she was pretty or beautiful, I don’t care because I love you. You are the most beautiful person in this universe, with such a pure heart. You are the best thing that ever happened to me and it would kill me so badly if I ever lose you to anything or never had you because of a stupid business deal. So yeah I wouldn’t marry her, because I only love you.” He looked at you with so much affection, you feel the tears threatening to flow out. You have never been so loved ever before, not before Kim Junmyeon. This man is a literal angel, sometimes you thank the lords and heavens for giving you the most precious soul anyone could ever receive. You were so grateful that you cry thinking about how much good did you ever do to deserve such a blessing.
“I love you.” You were nearly speechless, so you leaned up to kiss him so passionately, there were no words needed to say. The kiss says it all as it held nothing but love and affection i. All you felt was the love he was giving you unconditionally, all the life and light he brought you just like when he first tell you he was in love with you. Every kiss and movement was a new memory, a new story being written, a new art. They were just simple heated kisses yet it holds such deep meanings in them. And you swore to treasure these kinds of moments for the rest of your life.
All the worries and sad confusions were long gone as Junmyeon places his hands under your shirt and gently caress your skin. The closer his hands got to your upper body the more your breathing started to get heavy. When he pulled away and calm his breathing, you peek at those delicious plump red lips thinking how will you ever get enough of them.
When you stare back into those mysterious dark eyes, the love and affection you saw a few minutes ago were replaced by lust and desire, and honestly by just looking at them turned you on and make you melt like ice on a stove.
You didn’t know how moved first but as soon as your clothes were removed from your bodies, warm and dirty touches were all you felt. The night was spent with the both of you making love more than your body could ever handled, and your boyfriend made it difficult for you give up.
~~~
You were exhausted and spent, your legs felt like melted ice cream and you know you aren’t going to leave the house any sooner.
You were tired and sleepy that you didn’t even realise Junmyeon walking into the bathroom and back out with a wet cloth in his hand, until you felt something warm gently pressed against your little flower. You observe your caring boyfriend cleaning you up and softly massaging your skin.
When he was done, he places the towel on the floor and pulled the sheets that were all crumpled up and kicked to the side due to the activities you both did together not long ago. He tucked you in and cuddled closer to your body.
You both stayed in each other’s embraces until your boyfriend break the silence.
“Babe...”
“Yes Myeon?” He sounded like he had something important to say but you don’t know why was he hesitating.
“I...” You were starting to get concern so you sat up to get a better view of his whole face
“What is it?”
“I uh... I love you.” You smiled at him and leaned down to kiss him. It was a simple loving and innocent phrase but you could sense that something was troubling his mind.
“I love you too Myeonie, but what’s wrong?”
“I... I just...” He closes his eyes and took a breath before smiling.
“I just want you to know that I love you.” Your shoulder relaxes and you smiled again.
“Babe I kn-“
“I want you to know, that... I will always love you. I don’t care what anyone says about you, I don’t care how much they hate that I’m in love with you, I just don’t care. I will never let anyone or anything take you away from me, I won’t ever let them break us apart. I need you to know that I will never be taken away from you either. I will always be there to protect you, I will always support you in everything and anything, I’ll support you through every step you take, in every decision you make, even if it’s one small choice you made, I’ll be there with you and I’ll be by your side no matter what. Because the truth is, I’m so madly in love with you, I just want to spend my entire life with you, grow old with you and make you the happiest girl in the world. Because I love you. And I want only you.”
By the time Junmyeon finish letting out everything he wanted to say, you couldn’t hold it anymore. You grabbed the sheets to hide your face and cry into it softly. Your body went slack sideways, softly falling into your boyfriend’s embrace and hug him tightly, and at this moment you decided that if you were going to die, you want it to be in his arms exactly like this.
Junmyeon held onto you as he sat up while lightly rubbing your back and gently rocking you back and forth, giving you more comfort and care than you ever needed. Your love for him goes so deep that your heart swelled with so much affection for the man that is holding you so carefully like you were made of porcelain.
You finally calmed your cries down and finally look up at him with your tear coated cheeks and hair sticking onto your face.
“I...” You were choking on your sobs as junmyeon caresses your hair.
“I love you too Myeonie” Another batch of tears flowed out like a waterfall.
“So so much, a- and-“ Junmyeon continues to comfort you with his touches, weird because he should be the one receiving all this love.
“And I- I’m so sorry if I-“ You try to slowly talk your way through sniffs and light hiccups.
“If I ever caused you any trouble o- or any sadness.“
“Hey, shh shh...” Junmyeon pulled you into him and cradle you in his lap.
“You could never, and I mean never ever cause me any trouble do you hear me. You make me happy, never sad, I am happy because of you. You will always be the most precious angel the heavens had ever bless me with. I love you and that’s it, okay.” You kept silent and just nod slightly as you lay back down from your sitting position. Junmyeon did the same and once his upper body made contact with the sheets, you pressed your body against his and wrapped your arms around his waist.
“Okay, just know that I love you, I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life too.” You look up at him with teary eyes and pink flushed cheeks. Your lover gave you a promising and assuring smile as you looked into his eyes that holds your entire universe.
At this moment, you knew everything you ever needed and wanted is in front of you, right in your arms. This bond you two share could never be broken, and you promise to cherish this man fate had bless you with forever.
It was way later in the evening of the shopping spree, that you reached back home with Hoseok, and sat down in the living room to explain to him about what had transpired back in that shop. Putting down the bag in which the clothes for your little one were kept, you gestured him to sit down, and he did so without responding. You were not sure how to explain him how the whole deal had went, really. All you knew was that some stranger had just offered to pay for clothes you had wanted to buy, and then you exchanged contacts so you could pay him back, and then he was gone like he had ever existed.
You thought about the whole ordeal, your expressions constantly changing, which made Hoseok laugh. "Are you not going to tell me about how you got those clothes without paying any money or what?" he asked, on the verge of chuckling him again, when you rolled your eyes and spoke up. "Yeah, yeah. Now this might sound weird, but…" you took a deep breath and thought over everything again. It was certainly weird.
Weirder than weird, it was outright stupid. What if you were someone who ripped the guy off? You knew you weren't, he was right this time, but if he went around paying for everyone's stuff like that and offering them his number, you were sure he'd find a rotten apple here or there.
And yet, he had been so assured, giving you his number and trusting you to pay him back somehow. You were confused by his mindset; what if you got close to him only to rob him or something? Or if you called him over and murdered him? Who'd take care of his child, Haneul? His reactions made no sense to you. You knew you weren't a murderer, you knew you wouldn't ever steal from someone, but how could he trust a mere stranger that easily? He didn't know you. Or in that case, what you were capable of.
You sighed. "Well, there was this guy - what was his name? - ah yes, Kim Seokjin. And he was there with his son, Haneul. And he was in the line behind me. So, when you didn't come in time to pay for the clothes I had bought," which was because he had to deal with Jimin and Minhee, "the feisty employee yelled at me, and then he came to the rescue, paid for my clothes, gave me his number so I could pay him back, and left, since he couldn't stay longer because his child was sick," you explained in a single breath, making Hoseok look at you in confusion.
"Wait, wait, wait. A stranger paid for you?" he frowned, tilting his head. You were questioning the same exact thing. "Apparently… yes. And now I've got to pay him back. That's it, I suppose," you shrugged, still surprised and weirded out by the whole situation. You still couldn't believe how naive the guy was - who'd pay for a stranger? "You think he's really like that, or did he have... ulterior motives or something?" Hoseok asked, eyeing you worriedly. You giggled at his protective reaction.
"I guess we'll see."
Tumblr media
Days had gone by since the encounter took place. Since then, you had been texting Seokjin a lot more often, and you had gotten to know him better. He was just a little older than you, and he had a lot of likes that matched up with yours. Moreover, you both had an interest in acting, and when you told him that you had a bachelor's in acting and performing, and found out he did too, you were astonished at the similarities.
Deciding that Haneul was feeling a bit better, Seokjin and you chose a date to meet up at a coffee shop, which was how'd you pay him back - paying for his coffee.
You had originally denied the idea, for it was totally unfair and a coffee would cost much less than clothes, but Seokjin had been stubborn, and he and you had became good friends already, so he took the chance to see you again.
Seokjin also being… well, Seokjin, decided that on the Saturday he and you'd be meeting up, he'd come to pick you from Hoseok's house. Initially, you lost your mind at the thought and told him that Hoseok was home, he could drop you off, but once again, he didn't listen to a single protest.
"Look, Y/n! I am coming to pick you up and I rest my case," you heard his voice blow through the speakers of your phone. You groaned, not able to hold back the frustration. "Please, Y/n," the male pleaded, stretching your name, to which you responded by sighing. "But Hoseok is at home, and you know, I have really had enough," you stopped yourself from going further, afraid you'd hurt his feelings.
What you had meant to say was, you have really had enough of depending on others for things you could do on your own. But then again, you couldn't support yourself at all. Either way, your were taking help from a friend. You sighed heavily, letting your frustration escape you. "What do you mean?" you could practically hear him frowning. You clicked your tongue. "It's nothing," you replied, going over everything again and again in your head. You chewed on your bottom lip, and then finally decided to accept his offer. "Fine. Come pick me up."
After all, what did you have to lose?
Taking one last look at your outfit, which consisted of a light brown turtle neck, and some high jeans, you went down the stairs to say your goodbyes to Hoseok. "You better introduce me to this guy soon! You two seem to be bonding," you giggled at his comment, covering your mouth. "I will, I will! I'll talk to him about the whole sleepover thing too, okay?" you said, giving Hoseok a tight hug.
Hoseok, who had been trying his hardest to lift up your mood, decided that it'd be better if he got your whole group of highschool friends together, and you all had a sleepover. Recently, after he had found out about how your friendship was progressing, he couldn't help but ask you to invite him over. You happily agreed with his suggestion, so today would be the perfect chance to see if he was free. You still had your doubts, he was a parent, and of course, it would be very hard for him to have a clear schedule. Still, it was worth a try to ask.
It was as if time ran in its perfect course, because the moment you had finished saying the last of your 'see you soon's and 'have fun's, the doorbell rang. "Okay then! I'll see you later!" exclaiming that, you opened the door to be greeted by the sight of Seokjin again.
He wore his cute smile, the one which had made you feel completely lost back at that store. It almost made you lost in thought again. That, paired with his casual outfit, and his hair styled to one side, with a bit of it falling over his face - it all was a little out of the blue, because you couldn't take your eyes off of him for a second. It wasn't until he started waving his hand in front of you that you had to sink back into reality.
"Hello~? Earth to Y/n?" Seokjin frowned, blinking rapidly. You abruptly were thrown back to the doorstep, and started to stammer furiously. "O-Oh my God, I'm s-so sorry!" you put your hands in front of your chest as a defense, mentally beating yourself up, but he only responded with a light chuckle. "You better not space out on me again till I get that coffee."
To be honest, you were a little conflicted that you were paying him back with Hoseok's money, and since Hoseok had strictly forbidden you to do any heavy work while you were pregnant, you couldn't even find yourself a job. But maybe it was for the best; you should take care of yourself and your baby for now. Taking extra responsibilities would only be a burden to your health.
Entering the car, you sat down next to the driver's seat, in which Seokjin sat. He started the car, and before you knew it, you were off on your way. "We could've walked there, you know," you said, staring out the window to be mesmorised by the bright scenery outside. Seokjin's eyes left the road for a moment to look at you, before he fixated them back. "We could have. But you're clearly not in the best position to, if you know what I mean," he shrugged slightly.
You looked at him and his steady focus on the road and the cars ahead. "What do you-?" you tilted your head, confused by his vague statement. He groaned, though his eyes stayed in the same direction as always. "Y/n! Honestly! How stupid can you be?" he frowned, clearly displeased by the fact that he had to explain it to you. "Hey!I'm not stupid, you," you were about to call him stupid, but he had gone and interrupted you by then.
"I meant… I wouldn't want a hormonal lady screeching and pulling at her hair - or even mine - because she's tired of walking. I'm too handsome for that," he explained, his voice strangely calm, though his expression conveyed something else. Flustered or angered, you couldn't put your finger on it. You give him an 'ohh' as a response, nodding your head slightly in agreement, before you thought for it a bit more.
"Wait a second! Who are you calling a hormonal lady?!" you frown, about to jump at him, before you realised you're in a car. Seokjin took a moment to calm down, before he addressed you again. "Geez! You're going to get us both killed, Y/n, and wouldn't it be depressing if we died all because we wanted some coffee from Starbucks?"
Getting out of the car when you two finally reached the place, you caught up to Seokjin, surprising yourself at the pace you could run. You decided upon sitting outside, while Seokjin took the money you had offered, and went to get your coffee along with his. It was a while, and you waited as time trickled by. Every time the door would open, you'd get excited to see Seokjin stumble out, but everytime it was a let down.
The blood in your veins stopped moving, you almost became a frozen mess, when you saw someone familiar come out of the shop.
Oh, wasn't it a fateful occurrence - Park Jimin.
If you could die from seeing someone, you'd be dead on the spot, but the astonishment didn't end. In fact, it only got bigger. You could pull out your eyeballs at the moment - Jimin and Seokjin were talking. They were actually talking. You couldn't believe it. Why? Maybe because they stumbled across each other in the shop? Did they know each other? Your heart was racing, and at the same time, it had stopped beating from the shock of realising what had just transpired.
Beckoning Seokjin over by gestures, you took a deep breath as he handed you over your frappuccino, with a quizzical look. "Are you okay?" he raised a brow, his voice lined with worry. You shook your head as you took a sip of your drink, trying to calm yourself, but the coffee only made more adrenaline rush through your body. "Okay, tell me, how do you know that man you were talking to?" you asked, your brows knitting together.
He looked a little taken aback, but he looked around himself in confusion. Jimin had left already - he hadn't noticed you and you were more than glad for that. "The blond man?" he asked, tilting his head innocently. "Yes." He looked at you in suspicion, before sighing.
"I work at his company."
The frappuccino almost fell from your hand - you almost spat out the drink that was in your mouth. You threw a coughing fit, trying to get the coffee down your throat. You didn't even realise when Seokjin had gotten up and ran to your seat, running his down your back. It was for a few seconds before you felt better. You took deep breaths.
Seokjin sat back down on his seat, staying quiet. He figured he wasn't one to question the situation much, but you looked at him in such an expecting way, he had to ask the thought on his mind.
"And how do you know him?"
You fumbled with your hair, then took a sip of the drink to busy yourself, though nothing could divert the attention. You had brought this hell over yourself and you'd have to answer it. You bit your lip, then sighed heavily.
"He was… my ex-boyfriend." The statement was enough to send Seokjin into a shock. His eyes widened, and the usual, cute smile that you compared to an alpaca had vanished, completely. Instead, his posture remained frozen until he gained the ability to speak again.
"Don't tell me," he said in a small voice, struggling to go further. "And the one… who… well, got me pregnant," you said in a very quiet whisper, proving his accusations to be true. "You're… single? B-But... why?" you guessed it was a good time to speak up about your past, because it was obvious by the expression on his face that Seokjin wouldn't put down the matter until he had been given closure.
If it was someone else, you would've groaned, cried your eyes out, or some other hysterical reaction, but with Seokjin, you often felt a lot more comfortable, despite only knowing him for a while. Taking the opportunity to talk about your history with the blond male, you parted your lips to speak.
"Well…" you sighed again, unable to bottle up your frustration, "he cheated on me. I found out about it on the day I had came home to tell him about the whole… pregnancy thing. We had been dating for years. It's been a week since then," you said slowly, your voice a small, sorrowful whisper. He stayed quiet for a moment. It felt like there was no one sitting with you, and yet he was still there. For a moment, you thought he'd stand up and leave for some reason, but he didn't. And for some reason, again, you were grateful.
"I'm so sorry. Did the day we meet… the day you broke up?" he frowned, he was fumbling with the sleeve of his own shirt, obviously uncomfortable and brought down by the situation. "The day after, yeah." You took another sip of your drink, careful not to cough again. "Don't be so depressed!" you giggled, looking at the little expression he made. It was adorable, and you couldn't stop yourself from laughing even more. "Ah, it reminds me of my own tale too," he chuckled, his laugh hollow, taking a sip of his iced coffee. "How so?"
"Well, after Haneul was born, my girlfriend decided that… she didn't want him anymore. Obviously, I did. I love him. He is... my life," you nodded in agreement to his words. Your child was your life too - literally. The only reason you had started to live again.
Being reminded of how much your child had impacted your life, you couldn't help but remember how toxic your relationship with the child's biological father was. Most often than not, it was only you doing the hard work and trying to make the bond stronger. Most often than not, it was Jimin trying to show you signs that he didn't love You, but he could never really be straight-forward enough. And you, blind in love, most often than not, regarded his mistakes as perfection, and the signs he didn't love you went ignored.
You'd see the distance in his eyes as exhaustion from work, his calls that he'd be late as factual information, not excuses, and his words of confirmation when he replied back with an 'I love you' as real. But it was all a hoax, and now that you looked back on it, you were ashamed.
He had became the center of your Universe, the only reason you wanted to live, and the reason your life was so bright. Without him, you thought you'd die. But you hadn't - when you had broken up, you had wilted, but with a little sunshine, you had made it through. You were not with a liar anymore. And that is what mattered most. It had made you acknowledge that a fake could never last long.
"So… she drew herself to the conclusion that we had to break up. We did. She left." You could hear the emptiness in his voice. Every little word had a hole in it, a gaping, widening hole, that left scars on Seokjin. You stared at him, listening to his words with a somber melancholy playing at your lips.
"I'm really sorry for all that," you lowered yourself into your seat, deciding to change the topic. Trying to choose appropriate words, you flustered to come up with something. "Um, so… how's Haneul now?" you tilted your head at Seokjin, who gave a light smile. You figured he still hadn't healed yet, even after years. There was a bitter dismissal in his eyes. It flashed across for a bit, and even if he tried to hide it behind his pretty smile, you could see define the shadow that his past girlfriend had cast over him.
"Ah, Haneul. He's better. My cousin offered to take care of him, while I met up with you." His smile faltered as his sentence ended, and he took a sip of his coffee again, busying himself so he wouldn't have to take anyone else's pity. He hoped you understood his actions, because you went through something similar, but he'd never know. And it was better to be safe than sorry.
Mustering up everything you got to make the situation lighter, a thought sprang into your mind. "So… I told you about my friend, Hoseok, right?" to your question, Seokjin nodded. "Well, he was asking if you could... join for a sleepover we're having, this Friday? Us highschool friends are organising a fun, little reunion. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun, and… um… you can bring Haneul too, if you'd like! I'm sure he'll have fun too," you gave him a nervous smile, noticing his every reaction, and how a small smile crept over to his face in approval.
"I'd love to. I'll bring Haneul too." His reply made you ecstatic. Out of excitement, before you could even think of what you were doing, your hand was holding his, and you squeezed it appreciatively. "Thank you, so, so, so much! I'll make sure you won't regret it."
That was where you parted ways that afternoon - Seokjin drove you back home, and giving him a hug, you watched as his car sped down the road, until its distant silhouette disappeared. You opened the door, taking out the key Hoseok had given to you. The action reminded you a little too much of that unfortunate day last weekend.
You stepped inside, and as per usual, you announced your arrival as soon as you entered loudly.  "I'm home!" you exclaimed, making Hoseok shout back through the living room. "Welcome back."
You ran to the living room, then sat down next to Hoseok on the couch, hugging your knees and looking at him while he watched the television. "I saw Seokjin," you said, expecting that he'd ask you about more details like he did back on the day of the unexpected meeting, and you were not wrong. He turned to you with such an expression, that almost reminded you of that one lenny-face you saw on the internet, that was smirking like there was no tomorrow, but just as Hoseok was himself, he had made it even more absurd. "Tell me everything."
At his response, you rolled your eyes, feeling pity for the television show that was left forgotten. "So, apparently… he knows Jimin - no - he works under him," Hoseok's eyes widened, enough for him to pull his eyeballs out, for which you rolled your eyes into oblivion. "You're not serious!" at your serious expression, he chuckled In disbelief. "Small world!" he exclaimed, shrugging. You turned your head to the show.
"I was also going to ask you, do we invite Jimin?" your brows furrowed, you turned back to Hoseok. "To the reunion?" you asked, barely able to keep your anger at the question. Yes, he might have been in your circle of friends before he had gotten too popular for all of you, and you, dumb as you were, had started chasing after him but still, you weren't about to call the person who ruined your life to a sleepover that was supposed to help you get it back together. Hoseok could only nod meekly. You groaned. "For fuck's sake, no. Isn't that the worst idea ever?" you frowned.
"Well… yes, but… I didn't tell Taehyung of the break-up or cheating thing yet because you know how he is… didn't want to worry him… so… he might…" Hoseok stopped, when he saw the smoke coming out of your ears, your face red with fury, your knuckles white from pushing them into the couch. "You what?!" you exclaimed, fumbling to take out your phone and call Taehyung.
Getting it out, you dialled a number you hadn't contacted in ages, but who cared? You had to stop Taehyung from making a stupid mistake before he made one, and if he did, consider your reunion done for.
Getting up as the ringtone buzzed in your ear, you impatiently waited for the boy to pick up his mobile phone. You didn't speak until his deep voice was heard by you, and after that, you immediately started shouting, a little part of you hoping you wouldn't intimidate the poor boy.
"Kim Taehyung, tell me truthfully, did you tell Jimin about the reunion already?"
"If you're talking about that, then yes I did, no need for thanking me, I already know I'm-"
"Oh my fucking God, Taehyung, you weren't supposed to, you idiot!" you screamed, letting Hoseok know your worst suspicions were correct. "Was I not? Ah, why, Y/n-ah?" you could hear him frowning from the other side of the phone. "Because the…" you bit your lip, telling yourself mentally to stop cursing, "Jimin cheated on me." Oh, and also impregnated you. But maybe you'd tell that story some other day. You could hear a small gasp escape his lips. "I… I didn't know, I'm so sorry… Hobi-hyung didn't tell me that… I'm so incredibly sorry… do you want me to come over right now?" the rage that went through you told you to blow up on the spot, but you tried to calm yourself. The epinephrine that ran through your veins was enough to make you go crazy, you wanted to teach Taehyung a good lesson, but none of it was his fault and you had to understand that fact.
He was not informed on the matter, none of it was his fault. You sighed heavily. You'd deal with Jimin later. "It's okay, Taehyungie. You don't have to. And I forgive you. I'll take care of this, it's fine. Have a good day… and let's meet up this coming Friday, hm?" you smiled a little, which even surprised you, because your anger was beyond imagination at the point, but your ability to still smile settled the storm inside you. "Yeah… I'm still sorry. See you then." The call ended.  A soft sigh escaped your lips. Well, another problem to take care of.
"So… what do we do now?"
"Let's pray and just hope Jimin doesn't show up at the door this Friday."
That night, feeling bored, you decided to text Seokjin. You hoped you weren't disturbing him, but then again, even if you were, you loved annoying him so you didn't care. And then again, he'd probably be really annoyed because you were texting him at one in the morning, laying on your bed, your legs basically everywhere, since you couldn't sleep.
[Y/N]: I'm bored :(
To your great astonishment, his reply was instantaneous. Why was he not sleeping?
Seokjin : Do you have nothing to do at 1 in the morning except for texting me? Honestlyyy
[Y/N]: You're the one who's awake at 1 in the morning! What were you doing?
Seokjin : i just put Haneul to bed. He wouldn't sleep until I played his favourite videogame with him and then told him another story
[Y/N]: That's adorableeeeee! What fairytale did you read him this time? ;D
Seokjin : I didn'ttttttt. It was an alien story
[Y/N]: Ya, ya. I bet my feet you probs read him Cinderella and you're just too ashamed to admit that you still like to read stories of princesses
Seokjin : That's a serious accusation. ;( my Haneul doesn't like stories of pretty pink princesses
[Y/N]: I highly doubt that. Anyway..
You debated on whether to tell him of Jimin's arrival to the sleepover or not. But hey, maybe he wouldn't come, right? It was unlikely he'd come to the same sleepover as his ex-girlfriend who he cheated on, right? You hoped so. You weren't going to contact him. It was a matter of your pride, anyway.
Seokjin : Anyway?
[Y/N]: Anyway, I was thinking to give you a nickname and I think I found one.
Seokjin : What?? What is it?
[Y/N]: Princess Jin
Seokjin : That's the worst nickname if I ever heard one! Why do you have to abuse me like that? :(
That night had gotten a-hundred-and-ten-times better because of the response alone. You wouldn't be acting dramatic if you said you chatted for the whole night. You really did. Time just passed by, and you didn't notice till it was five in the morning. At some point, you had started to video-call him too, and then you'd just laugh along with him as he desperately tried to explain his dad jokes. It was at fifteen minutes or so past five a.m, that your eyelids grew heavy, and you drowsily fell asleep, then were awaken by Seokjin, who you had now decided to call Jin for short, when he decided to compliment how cute your 'sleepy expression' was.
You shushed him and decided upon ending the call, hence calling it a day.
By Wednesday, all you two were doing were having little, small talks through texts, because Seokjin had recently gotten a lot of paperwork to take care of, making him very busy. You had asked why he didn't pursue acting, but he simply denied it by saying that he wasn't feeling ready for the spotlight just yet, as he had a child to take care of, and pretty much no one (except for his cousin, who'd sometimes help if she wasn't busy) to help him take care of Haneul.
That, and also the fact that success wasn't always guaranteed in the profession of acting, and he lacked the amount of confidence he needed. Basically, he wasn't prepared as of yet for the life of an actor. So he decided to do an office job instead, which Jimin had been very generous with (as you had expected to hear). Since Seokjin didn't have a degree in engineering, an office job was hard to find, but an online application led him to a high-income job, which was apparently under the supervision of your ex-boyfriend.
Seeing Seokjin share all of this, you came to realise how deep a person's life is, that every human on the planet had their own problems, relationships, responsibilities and so much more to take care of. It made you smile, seeing how Seokjin was doing everything solo, yet he was doing well. Of course, he wouldn't mind company, and it would be better if he did have it, but who'd do that?
His smile made you feel lose you were flying to cloud nine, and his laugh made you laugh. It was adorable, and his personality was the most purest thing you had heard of. You could hear him ramble everyday, and still not get bored. Instead, you'd be willing to hear even more. He was… fascinating. You loved him. Or well… you loved his personality. That's what you told yourself, at the very least. Sometimes, at some of his compliments, your cheeks would burn so red, your heart would race so fastly, your head would feel so blank, and yet so filled with thoughts, that you couldn't explain it, even if you wanted to.
He had made you forget your past. He made you learn that… yes, your past was a part of you. But it did not define who you were meant to be. That was your choice alone, and you were living by the lesson he had taught you.
Not to mention, you had learnt to live. Not exist, but live. Whenever Hoseok was gone for his work, you'd stay home, cook, sing to your baby, and watch television. Whatever you wanted, you'd do. Not because someone was ordering you, but because you were doing it for someone's happiness - happiness that was finally not dependent on someone else's - happiness that had recently started to matter. Yours. And maybe Seokjin's too. He'd told you that he wanted to see you smile, always.
And you'd be lying if you didn't mention his flirty jokes.
They were getting a little out of hand, yes, but you loved them anyway. And who were to stop you, if you said two could play that game?
On Wednesday, since Seokjin's cousin was out of town, and his co-leagues, who he mentioned were persuasive (and to be truthful, they'd force him a lot too) as hell, had forced him to have a drink or two with them after work. He couldn't come home early enough, and had tasked you with taking care of Haneul. You basically spent the whole day at his home, which was quite cosy if you were to be honest with yourself.
You arrived just in time, after telling Hoseok, at Seokjin's house before he left for work. You'd be spending the day with Haneul, and you reckoned it'd be fun.
It was. Wishing Seokjin a goodbye, you shut the door, and the two of you began playing instantly when the little boy woke up. He was vocal, and he wasn't afraid to tell what he wanted either. But he never behaved rudely once, which, considering that you were pretty much a stranger to him, was a slight astonishment, but you went along with it. You were never one to question life too much, anyway.
His cute, little requests, and fun games were something that could never bore you, even if you were to play with him for a month or two straight, you wouldn't get bored. Like his father, he was always unpredictable, and quite intelligent too. He had tried memorizing some dad jokes from Seokjin as well, which made you melt and 'aww' in ways you had thought were imaginable. He would try to tell you some, but would mostly always fail.
And just like Jin, you got along with him well too.
It was about eight when you tucked the little one into bed, and making sure he was asleep, you quietly closed the door to his little room. He had tried to convince you that he wanted to play more, but at one point, you did have to be a little strict.
You waited for Seokjin in desperation that he'd come soon, sitting on the couch as you fumbled with hair strands. You were quiet worried, but you took a deep breath, and the door opened, for what seemed like a millennia later.
"Jin!" you got up, but seeing his disheveled creature came as a rude shock to you. His hair was all messy, and his face was all hazy and distanced, his clothes a bit poked with here and there, but still intact. At first, it almost was like he had been in a fight, taking support of the front door, but you soon realised he was drunk.
Had his co-leagues given him a little too much liquor? You sighed, jumping forward and putting his arm around your neck so he'd have support, since he looked imbalanced. You shut the door behind yourself. "Y/n-ah," Seokjin whined as you tried to move, but with his heavy arm around you, the action was practically impossible.
"Kim Seokjin, for God's sake, atleast try to walk! I know you're probably drunk as hell, but still!" you exclaimed, but made sure that it wouldn't reach Haneul. You tried to walk again, but his weight wouldn't let you.
You dragged yourself to the couch, him alongside you. This made you realise what a victim you were in the situation. Taking care of his kid, cooking food, and now carrying his drunk ass? You were pregnant but no one took care of you. You felt a little bad for yourself.
You plopped him down on the couch before sinking down yourself. Looking at his wrecked figure, and the dreamy expression it held, you couldn't help but let your breath be taken away for a bit. For some awkward reason, it made your cheeks heat up. "Jin, are you… okay?" it was a rhetorical question, but that was the most you could ask. "Do you want water?" you asked softly, running a hand through his silky, black hair. He purred like a cat at your touch, making you even more flustered. So was that a yes or no? You weren't very sure.
His arm, which was laying here or there previously, wrapped itself around your waist, making the distance between your bodies even smaller. You tried to get out of his grasp, though however he was drunk, he clearly didn't like the idea of you escaping, so now you were stuck.
But even in that simple moment, you couldn't help but admire his beautiful features. His plump, pink lips, his smile, his hair, his eyes, which were shut lightly for now - everything. It was devilishly handsome to you and you couldn't deny it even if you wanted to. "You're very nice, you know?" he murmured, his lips barely parting. You looked to him in confusion. "I know, Jin, but seriously! Get up and go to your bedroom," you were about to say further, going along the lines of, 'get some rest and I'll prepare for your dinner,' but he had interrupted you.
"Am I in trouble if I don't?" you didn't know what he meant, but by the grin on his handsome face, you might be getting the wrong ideas. "You… yes, y-you are!" you exclaimed at a loss for words, thanking God you had put Haneul to bed before this wreck came in.
You didn't know what you were to say. You had not carried many drunk people in your life - and you had never been particularly interesting in drinking anyway. Most of the time, you'd take care of Jimin when he drank a bit too much at times, but that was Jimin and this was Seokjin. Two different people, who had very different roles in your life.
"Bring it on."
You stared at him in confusion, almost about to punch him before you realised once more, that he was still drunk and it was the alcohol speaking, not his pretty, blunt mouth. You sighed. "Jin, I swear I'll kill you once you're sober, just…" you groaned, getting him to stand up and dragging him to his bedroom, and, this time, he listened to your commands and followed whatever you had to say.
Taking him inside, you were about to tuck him into bed too, but his arm was still around your waist. "Okay… J-Jin…" you debated on how to tell him he had to sleep, with his breath tickling the crook of your neck, chills ran down your spine. The situation seemed a lot more awkward when you pictured him in that way, and your heart only began to beat faster. Your hands, turning cold and ghostly pale from nervousness - or anticipation for what was next - you did not know.  You felt a little too vulnerable, your body against his, his arm around your waist - it all felt a little wrong.
You didn't know what caused the heat to rise to your cheeks. A thought bloomed inside of your mind, as if it was put aside for being ridiculous but was now possible - the idea of being in love with him. Were you? No matter how hard you shook yourself, told yourself that you were not, it all made sense to you. Why you'd start a smile like an idiot on an otherwise bad day, when you read his text. How'd you laugh around him a little too much, your heart would feel tugged on when he came near, or when you saw his beautiful face and just wanted to stare at it for an eternity.
Or how'd you feel warm and fuzzy with him around, how he'd make you feel safe and protected - it all came back in a circle. This exciting, warm feeling that enveloped you in its sweet embrace - love. It was a hard thing to explain, but if you were to describe it in one word, it'd be Seokjin.
And suddenly, it felt as it was all possible - like you owned the world. Looking up at him, you noticed that his eyelids were heavy, his sclera barely visible. Staring at his soft, pink lips, you couldn't look away. His cute, gentle expression that told you he was sleepy - it all made so much impact on you in a second. But you couldn't. It was all wrong, whatever you wanted to do. And not to mention, stupid. Or that's what you thought anyway, until his voice caught you off-guard.
"Taeyeon…?" it was barely inaudible - it would be if you weren't standing this close. But the name stopped your plane of thought. It was a mere whimper that made you realise how cold, and quiet the whole room was. In fact, it was chilling and dark, leaving you scared. If that fact came as an astonishment, the way he uttered a woman's name left you astounded. It sounded desperate, almost as if he was begging her to not leave him.
You shouldn't have thought of kissing him in the first place. It was stupid, and foolish to think you had any chance with a guy you had barely met, and with someone as wonderful as Seokjin. He needed someone who could fix his broken heart, not deepen the cut by being a broken person, such as yourself, themself. You wanted to hug Seokjin, because the way he sounded made you almost pity him. What hell had the poor guy been through? You wished you could've known more, but then again, you had no rights to.
You wondered why you started to fall for him anyway, when you didn't even know that he was seeing someone else. You blamed yourself for not knowing a lot. Sighing, you turned towards Seokjin, chewing on your lower lip. There were a million emotions inside you, but emptiness had never weighed heavier. It made you want to throw up, to dig a hole and bury yourself in it. Your heart could barely be held in your chest, and it felt like blowing up. Never having felt such a way, you didn't know what to do. The only time you felt such empty ache was when you broke up with Jimin. You never wanted to go through it again.
And yet still, you were experiencing it. An ache so deep, it cut through you, shattering you and poisoning your body. You could barely hold Seokjin. "S-Seokjin, please," you pleaded, fumbling with the hand he had around your waist. It took a few tries, and you were about to give up and try another method, which was most likely to awake him from his drunkenness, but he let go eventually.
Lowering him to the bed, you tucked him in, pulled the blanket over him so he wouldn't get cold in this time of October, and quietly shut the door behind you. You debated on whether to get him food, and decided upon leaving it in the refrigerator so he had something to eat when he woke up. You wrote a note, telling him of the awkward incident and that you had left food for him, leaving it on the table. After completing the task, you took your leave with a heavy heart.
By the time you reached home, it was ten, and after saying your farewells to Hoseok for the night, you went to bed instantly, your eyelids heavy. You didn't notice immediately how tired you were, but you were very sleepy. A yawn escaped your lips, and with the last thought of Seokjin, you took a step into dream land, hoping that the next day would be better than the last.
Thursday went by very quickly. You did your normal work - singing, watching television, cooking, cleaning around the house and whatnot - and the day came to an end rather fast. After having dinner with Hoseok, as you both sat down in the living room to watch some dramas together, your phone ringed. You reached out to grab it from the table beside the couch, and checked to see who it was that was calling you.
"It's Seokjin," you told Hoseok, getting up and leaving to the hallway. You didn't notice when you had started calling him by his first name again, because if you were to be honest, you two were getting along well and you were on nickname-terms, but the incident yesterday just reminded you of how much distance lied between you two, albeit being so, very similar.
"What is it, Seokjin?" you asked, your tone rather cold. You didn't know why it came out like that, because you still considered him a friend, but apparently your heart thought otherwise. "I'm so sorry about yesterday!" as you expected. You sighed, already done with the conversation. At least, you didn't write about how he called out a woman's name and made you feel so little.
"It's fine." Your reply was still as cold, and you weren't sure why you were blaming the ordeal at him, because even you knew that it wasn't his fault, yet your heart made him the culprit of such emotional distance you had acquired. "Let me make it up to you, please, Y/n," you heard Seokjin as he pleaded. The heart was a naïve and biased thing, Jin. If only he understood. "It's fine, I told you," you responded, not wanting to talk about the night. It brought back bad memories.
"Please! Who knows what other, weird things I did while I was drunk? I'm so sorry," you shook your head. "What're you planning?" like you had thought. The heart really was a naïve thing. "I'm... hmm, how about this… since we're having the sleepover this Friday, let me pick you up and we'll go and grab some snacks for it?" you stayed silent. "My treat! I'll pay for everything we'll buy," you were still not fully agreeing with it. He had to pay a little more than just that for what he did to your heart. "I'll bring Haneul too, so he'll buy snacks with us as well, okay?! Happy?" you smiled, something that happened for the first time in a while, at his desperation, but also at the fact that he was bringing the little cutie along. Something inside your heart changed automatically.
"Happy. Now we have a deal, so come over at about eight, 'kay?"
"Your wish is my command."
That Friday night, Seokjin parked his car at your door, and saying goodbye to Hoseok, who was getting the living room ready for watching movies, as well as arranging the house for sleepover, you jumped out to greet Seokjin and Haneul. Sinking down next to the driver's seat, with Haneul cheerfully sitting in the passangers' seat, the three of you left towards the nearest supermarket.
Upon reaching there, you grabbed Haneul's hand excitedly and started to wander around the aisles, with Seokjin trying to follow behind you. "Yah! Y/n, slow down!" Seokjin exclaimed, barely able to catch up, but you couldn't hear him when the sight of the snacks hit you. "Jin! Stop being a slow bloke and come!" you replied back, then started to grab as many chips and other things you could, towering the bunch on Seokjin, then on yourself, and then having Haneul pick up a bottle of juice, since you weren't the biggest fan of alcohol.
Going to the counter, the moment reminded you of how you had met Seokjin in the first place. It made you smile like an idiot. "You know, this is kind of like how we met." You heard him laugh lightly. "You're right. Who'd figure that simple thing would bring us here?" he smiled softly, then reached for the counter and put all the stuff that he had been holding. You did too, and taking the bottle from Haneul, you put it on the counter. Seokjin paid, and taking the plastic bags in which the snacks had been kept, hand-in-hand with Haneul, you left for the exit.
Such little moments brought you so much happiness. You all looked like a family. It was a little ironic, you wouldn't lie. You sat down in the car, the plastic bags kept at the back with Haneul. "How many months are you gone?" the sudden question from Seokjin left you a little surprised, but you answered it, relentlessly. "About one and a half months now. Actually..." it was as if something dawned over you. Your body felt unready for the act, and you grew silent.
"Actually?"
"Hoseok told me about this test…" you bit your lip.
"What test?"
"The early gender DNA test. It's done at… I think, eight weeks in?" you answered, deep in thought. You didn't have to do it, but how far were you willing to go for your baby's gender to be revealed? You did want to know if it was a boy or girl. But the fact reminded you a little too much of Jimin. It filled you with this sudden emptiness, it was unexplainable, but it left you starving. You wanted the father to accompany you to such an occasion, but… was that even possible now?
As the silence drifted longer, you let out a heavy sigh. "You don't have to do it," you heard Seokjin say. "I know. But I want to know. But at the same time, I don't. You get what I mean?" you sighed again, feeling suddenly so down. Maybe it was because you were hormonal. Who knew? "Two more weeks, and I get to know my baby's gender. But it feels… way too early. I'm not ready," you continued. "I mean... I thought if something like this were to happen, Jimin would be with me."
Seokjin silently listened to you, but after you had said that and became quiet, he spoke up.
"I can go with you. Of course, Hoseok can go too. I get that you'd want him to go with you rather than me, he's your best friend, so…" his sentence drifted off into the silence. Why was the car ride suddenly so long? You nodded lightly at his words. "You can come. I'm... sure you'd like to know if it's a boy or girl," your lips broke into a gentle smile, thinking of a little child running around you.
"I just… kind of wish Jimin was here."
His name reminded you that Taehyung had accidently told him about the sleepover, and he may be at home for all you knew. "By the way… we might see him at the sleepover. We're in the same friends' group. One of my friends accidently let it slip, he didn't know that he had cheated on me, so… mayhaps, you will meet your boss tonight," you snickered, hoping you were wrong in desperation.
Seokjin parked the car at your house as you finished your statement and looked at you. "I'm not ready now," you rolled your eyes at his response. "He probably didn't even come. He doesn't want to waste his time, so…" you got out of the car, saw Seokjin as he grabbed the plastic bags and Haneul, and opened the door to enter inside.
The atmosphere was completely different - the house was dark, but some light entered through windows and the television was on.
"Y/n!" Jungkook's voice came first, and he hugged you tightly. You rolled your eyes, but you missed the little guy's, who wasn't so little anymore, embrace a lot. "Hey Kookie," you ruffled his hair, then parted to look at his face. He had grown up a lot since you had last seen him. Everyone had.
You looked around the house, seeing the older versions of Namjoon, the smart and intellectual one of your group back then, Yoongi, the one who slept through most of the classes and still got good grades, Taehyung, whose boxy grin never disappeared but he had certainly matured, and Hoseok. You introduced everyone to Seokjin back and forth.
But there was someone who he didn't need to be introduced to.
Jimin.
He was here. All along, he was here. And he wasn't alone, for God's sake. He had brought Minhee over. A great way to start off the night. "Seokjin?" his voice shook you, bringing tears into your eyes for some reason. It was the same as ever, but just one of shock. "Ah, Jimin. Nice to meet you," Seokjin put Haneul down, who automatically came creeping to you, and flashed a smile towards Jimin.
"How are you here?" Jimin raised a brow, as the area began to become less populated, with people wandering the house here and there. You didn't move. Partially because there was a child clinging to you, and also because you just couldn't. You were frozen. You could make out Jimin and the girl latched around his arm in the dark. It hurt a little to see that you were not her.
Maybe you were still not fully over him as you had thought. "Don't they look like a family?" Minhee's voice, high-pitched and soft, broke through the silence that had settled after Jimin's question. You just realised how close you were standing to Seokjin, and with Haneul clinging to you, you hardly doubted it didn't look like that.
"Ah, Jagi, even if they did, they aren't really a family."
Jimin's response didn't quite register right the moment it left his plump lips. You raised a brow, taking your eyes off of Haneul for once. The statement offended you in a way. Had he forgotten you were still carrying his child?
"Actually, we're together," the reply left you too quickly as your hand found Seokjin's. You were a little flustered when it came out, and the way Seokjin's hand went stiff in your embrace made you heart stop. Originally, you had meant to make Jimin jealous, but it became very wrong in only a little moment.
"Are you?" Jimin asked, his voice taken aback, rather quiet. You bit your lip, getting a little heated up. You took a deep, uneven breath. "Y-Yeah. We've been dating for a few days. Anyway, I need to go check up with Hoseok about the snacks, and… I think, you should show Haneul around the house, Jin," you tugged on his sleeve as you said the last few words, and then took your leave, picking up the bags of snacks. Seokjin helped you drop it off in the kitchen, where he set them off on the counter.
"What do you think you were doing back there?" he asked, a light frown on his face. You groaned, massaging your temples a little. "I'm under a lot of stress, okay?! I don't know what I did, I'm sorry, alright?" you responded, sighing heavily. "I couldn't have him show us up like this, I'm," words left your mind when Seokjin rested his hands on your shoulders. You saw Haneul running towards the living room.
Unlike the rest of the house, atleast the kitchen was lit up.
"It's fine. You're fine. It's okay," he looked at you in a reaffirming manner, smiling softly. "I'm here." You put your hands around his waist, your head against his chest. It felt like tugging at your heart. His embrace calmed you down. You closed your eyes, taking his scent in. Unlike the time he was drunk, his hug was warm and supportive, with his arms around your waist. "Thank you."
Hoseok came rushing in, but the sight made him freeze. You blinked at the doorway, staring at him in abrupt surprise. Feeling the heat rush to your cheeks, you let go of Seokjin and he let go of you, breaking the hug. "What just-?" Hoseok began to say, but Seokjin cut him off. "I'm going to go check up on Haneul," he said, as if nothing had happened and he wasn't effected by the awkward atmosphere. Giving you a sly smile and a wink that stole your heart, he left the kitchen.
Hoseok smiled innocently, coming to the counter, where you were standing. You didn't speak a word, still surprised by the crazy person Jin was. The way your bestfriend batted his eyelashes told you that he was thinking the opposite of what was reflected on his face. You crossed your arms, your cheeks burning more by the second. "I didn't know you two were that close," he said casually, taking a look in the bags you had brought. You rolled your eyes at his tone, then frowned.
"The worst thing isn't even that!" you were so used to having him know your feelings, that you couldn't help but tell him whatever had happened between the two of you these few days. "And now I just told Jimin that we're together! I wanted to make him jealous, I didn't want him to make fun of Jin, but now… it's all over the place," you finished. "And that's not even the worst thing."
"Then what is?"
"I think I'm falling for Jin."
The look Hoseok gave you was ridiculous, and on any normal day, you'd have a lung punctured because of it, but today, it just hit different. "Are you… sure?" he asked, tilting his head slightly. "If so, just confess," he continued, taking out the juice bottle. "And ruin my already-so-perfect-not-friendship with him? No," you frowned, sighing. "Well, someone's got to make the first move, right?" he gave you a little smile. "I mean, yeah, but wasn't it obvious when I spoke up against Jimin, telling him that we're together?" you frowned even more, your brows knitting together.
"Some people need the confirmation, Y/n."
It was a while before the game began; the game everyone loved at these sorts of gatherings. While Jungkook thought that it was a little too much for his innocent eyes, and volunteered to take care of Haneul, the rest of you played the ominous game everyone knew by the name of, 'truth or dare.'
Jimin and the girl, Minhee, went mostly ignored after you told everyone of how he had cheated on you and how you were pregnant, while he and his new girlfriend enjoyed some drinks. Thankfully, all the guys supported you.
But back to the game. Sighing, you watched the bottle spin, and the mouth landed towards Seokjin, while the other side landed on you. This did have you pique some interest, you wouldn't lie, because the previous dares and truths had been either childish, or just completely gross - most of the gross ones came from Minhee, as you had imagined it to go.
"Truth or dare, Jin?" you raised a brow. "Truth," he replied firmly. You smiled slyly. You wondered what you wanted to ask, and there weren't many except for, 'do you love me?' but you wouldn't get the real truth out of him anyway, since Jimin was sitting there and you needed to pretend as if you were a couple and stay true to your words. It sucked how there were truths and real truths nowadays. Truths were supposed to be just… truths.
"Who's Taeyeon?" the next question was a valid one, and everyone beside you and Seokjin went 'ohhh'. It's as if the expected this to be a 'how to catch a cheater', but you weren't even together, so it didn't matter. You just wanted to sincerely know. Maybe you'd get to shield your heart before it is stepped on again. You looked at the person-in-question, who looked conflicted, but most of all, surprised. "How did you-?" he began asking, but you cut him off. You didn't want to tell him the truth, but there was no point in hiding it. "You… you muttered the name when you came back that night… after you got drunk."
Another wave of 'ohhh' went around the room, and you were honestly getting tired of it. This wasn't something that was going to escalate into a break-up scene, and yet everyone was very interested. Jimin's amused expression made you feel even more down, as if the question wasn't enough. Your ears had been waiting to hear the answer, and still, Seokjin remained quiet.
"Haneul's mother."
The response made your heart stop. You stopped breathing for a second, the thoughts that were about him seeing someone else completely disappearing. A few moments of silence passed. Nodding, you accepted that your suspicions were wrong. Understanding Seokjin's reaction, you beckoned everyone to continue with the game.
The mouth landed on you next. You groaned, seeing as the person who was on the other end was Jimin.
"Truth or dare, Y/n?"
You bit your lip. "Dare." You were feeling risky, you wouldn't lie. But you had asked for a little too much.
"I dare you to kiss the most attractive man here."
You stared at Jimin, finding his words heavier than you thought. Without even thinking, your eyes wandered to Seokjin. His eyes locked with yours in an instant, and you gulped. What had you put yourself through?
Trying to calm your racing heart, you simultaneously moved towards Seokjin, a little scared. You had thought of it doing this before, but now that you actually had to, you felt unsure. With everything that had transpired between you, this would only make your whole relationship a lot more complicated. Seokjin looked on with widened eyes, not moving a bit. You felt bad for him, and yet, you had thought of this before too. You sighed, whispering in his ear, "I'm really sorry."
With every bit of courage left within you, you forced Seokjin to turn his handsome face towards you, and cupping it with your hands, you closed the gap between his pink lips and yours, pulling him into a kiss. You wanted him to know your true intentions - how it hurt to kiss him like this, because you weren't really his girlfriend, and yet how you'd do anything to convey that you did want to be with him.
A round of applause and multiple squeals were heard by you, but you focused on the kiss, making it longer than you intended to. Seokjin's frozen posture scared you, but at last, you pulled apart, feeling nervous and awkward. Slowly, and quietly, with your cheeks burning red, you went back to your original seat. You were too scared to lock eyes with him for the rest of the game.
But still, the play continued on relentlessly. At one point, you were even asked who you would date if you weren't 'dating' Seokjin already, and you replied honestly with, "I'd… I'd date Jimin," which gave him the satisfaction he had been searching for from the beginning, and you could see how Seokjin glared at him. It made you smile like an idiot to see his protective nature.
He didn't let Jimin come near you even once.
Later that night, you munched on some popcorn, your eyes unwavering, staying on the television screen. The seating arrangement, went something along the lines of this. From left to right, sat Hoseok, Minhee, Jimin, you, Seokjin, with Haneul sitting on the ground next to your feet, who was occasionally being playfully troubled by Jungkook, who was sitting on the ground next to him, and then Namjoon sitting on one of the arm of the couch, and Yoongi on the other.
Jimin's presence was very much unwanted, but nothing could change the fact that he was a part of your group before hell emerged, and you supposed cheating on you after impregnating you wasn't going to cut him out either. He was just as much of a part in your group as he was several years ago.
You all watched the decided horror movie - great for couples who wanted to have fun - by which you meant Jimin and Minhee, and bad for... well, you couldn't call yourself and Seokjin a couple, but bad for people with sexual tension. The whole time you were debating whether to hug him after you somehow got frightened or not. Sitting next to Jimin was also, personally, making you very anxious. But it wasn't until you heard some noises from beside you that your breath got stuck.
Apparently, the 'couple' was snogging rather than watching the movie itself. Probably why, in the earlier stages of the movie, you heard Minhee yelp and whimper, meanwhile, for quite some time now, the two remained quiet. It seemed like everyone else heard it well too, and you got the feeling of being sick to the stomach. Something building up inside of you. Like you wanted to puke. Maybe that's exactly what you wanted to do.
Hoseok, who was sitting next to Minhee, opted to sit on the ground instead. You heard Namjoon cough a little, probably to gain the couple's attention and stop them from going further, but Jimin and Minhee only took further advantage of the facts that, one, the room was dark, and two, that you all were such pacifists. Any moment, you thought Seokjin would pick Haneul up and leave the room, and your assumptions were increasingly becoming more true as his body stiffened.
It was in the middle of the movie that he had heard the end of it.
"Can you please stop the movie?" he asked Hoseok, who nodded lightly and paused it. You saw Seokjin as he went over to turn on the lights. Jimin and Minhee were all over each other, but you were thankful that it hadn't gotten any more crazier than just some really passionate kisses. You signalled Jungkook to pick Haneul up and take him somewhere else, which he understood and did so. The little child could do without seeing whatever was going to happen.
The atmosphere was thick enough to cut with a knife. Yoongi was glaring on Jimin like there was no tomorrow, and Hoseok, naturally passive, was fumbling madly with the remote in his hand. Namjoon stayed as quiet as ever, and Taehyung tried busying himself with some popcorn. You felt uneasy beyond explanation, and you low-key wanted to just get up and leave the room, but you couldn't and you knew it would be childish to do that. You had to stand up and become independent for once. Getting up, you didn't leave the silent room, but instead went over to Seokjin to check up on him. He was still standing near the switch, still as ever, and you assumed he was trying to calm himself.
Seeing him like this, you couldn't help but let a pang of regret and guilt wash over you. After all, it had been your idea to invite him, and you were the one who decided to share the news of Jimin coming over later than sooner, even if it wasn't confirmed. Grabbing his hand, even if you knew he really needed less of you right now, you looked up at him with your eyes full of hesitation. "Are you okay?" you whispered, tilting your head. You wished you could be more of a comfort, but you knew how uneasy Seokjin must be.
"I'm sorry but," you watched him turn to the other guys and Minhee, but his hand remained intertwined with yours. Your heart did hurt at the situation, but it was scared for what was to come. But no matter what your mind could've thought of, it couldn't have prepared you for the outburst that was next.
"Do you really have no shame?" Seokjin's voice sounded conflicted, as he walked towards Jimin and Minhee, dragging you with him. Your breath got caught into your throat. You froze in the position, the only part of your body that was moving was the hand that held Seokjin's. You squeezed his hand out of anxiety, not wanting to be in the center of everything, and yet here you were. The room remained quiet, a deadly silence engulfing all of you, till Jimin spoke up. "What do you mean?"
"I meant that, could you really not wait till you got to the bedroom or whatever arrangements were made for sleeping? If not for a comfortable atmosphere here, at least be patient for the innocent child that was sitting amongst you?" the response left everyone in the room silent. No one spoke a word after what Seokjin had said, and your hands were turning colder with every passing second. Jimin had, thankfully, untangled himself from his now-girlfriend, thought that did not help to make the situation any lighter.
Your heart swelled at the question. It showed the endless care Seokjin gave to Haneul. If anything, it made you appreciate him even more. It was in this moment you realised what an inspiring being he was - hard-working, caring, independent, with the right set of morals, his priorities were made clear, and he wasn't afraid to speak up for what was right and for what mattered to him. He wasn't going to suppress his opinions and deem them unimportant just because he was fighting against someone who was in a higher position than him. It showed real strength and bravery. Fighting for what was right despite the dangers involved.
"This is no way to treat a guest, though," Jimin's brows furrowed. "The whole time, I and Minhee have been being ignored and treated as slaves of a sort! It's still happening," you rolled your eyes at the reply. This time, it wasn't Seokjin who spoke up. It was Yoongi.
"Maybe if you didn't treat Y/n the way you did, this wouldn't be happening."
Silence - heavy and immensely cold silence. You wanted to shout at Yoongi for bringing you into the fight and yet, you would've given him the same answer. If he didn't treat others nicely, how could he have expected to be treated right? It didn't make sense to you and you wanted to slap some sense into him, but you knew it was impossible, for he wouldn't learn. "You could've told me if you didn't want me here."
Jimin got up, taking Minhee alongside him. Passing by Seokjin and you, he muttered words you couldn't ever let escape your mind.
"And you're fired, Seokjin-ssi."
Tumblr media
It had been two weeks since then. Seokjin had left Hoseok's home that night with Haneul, and he hadn't contacted you ever since then. Thanks to Jimin, your friendship with Seokjin had taken a one-eighty degree turn for the worse, and the worst thing was that you couldn't stop it, because he had basically decided not to talk to you.
Everyday was filled with fuming rage and frustration that he still hadn't called you. Not a single day went by when you wouldn't whine about the fact, and you knew Hoseok was getting sick of your temper tantrums, which you basically threw everyday, and on poor him too.
"Y/n! Calm down for a second, will you?" it was a Thursday evening when Hoseok had grown a little too tired of it to keep it all inside him. You didn't blame him for this, as much as you hated it, your mood changes and the temper that had consumed you wasn't letting go of you. Likely due to your preganancy, but you didn't bother with the reasons much. "I'm sorry, okay?" you huff, crossing your arms and sinking down on the couch. "I'm tired of him not picking up the gazillion times I've called him, or not responding to any of my messages! And tomorrow we're going to find out the gender, are we not? He wanted to come too!"
It was going to be your two-month-mark tomorrow, which meant you could take that test Hoseok had told you about. You didn't care if Jimin wasn't there with you anymore; Seokjin had to be. Somebody had once said that someone's absence made the heart fonder. It had certainly made you realise the impact Seokjin had on your life, and once, you even wondered if you could live it without him.
He had made you so happy - just to leave you here in the dark. You didn't know how you got where you did, but picking up your phone, you looked at the spam of texts you had sent him. You were surprised he hadn't blocked you, and the thought made you snicker. You really were a pesky, little thing for him.
[Y/N]: Jin?
[Y/N]: Seokjin?
[Y/N]: Are you receiving these textsssss
[Y/N]: God, I miss you, please forgive Jimin :(
[Y/N]: I'm so sorry for everything he did and I know he fired you and all, but please respond to me
[Y/N]: At least tell me you're okay!
[Y/N]: Seokjinnnnnn
[Y/N]: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!! Please don't ignore me
You weren't even scratching the surface with those texts. There were a million more, but your hands didn't have the energy to scroll up to see those. All held the same message - forgiveness and to not ignore you anymore. You weren't even sure if he had seen these, but you knew he was definitely ignoring your calls. Unless he was in the bathroom everytime you called. Which was, in your opinion, impossible.
"Y/n, if you're so desperate, we can go to his house but I doubt he wants to see you right now." Hoseok's answer made you turn to him in surprise. "Really?" without further thought, you agreed to your bestfriend's offer, changed into something nicer, and buckled up.
Your heart wanted nothing more than to see Seokjin's handsome face right now. It was longing to see him, practically being tugged to his house from the very first week. But you were willing to give him a chance to speak to you over phone back then, and Hoseok wouldn't agree to take you there, no matter how much you pleaded him. He had truly astonished you with the sudden exclamation that you could go to Seokjin, but you did not mind one bit.
Everyday, you had thought of doing this - going to meet Seokjin, but life wouldn't let you. Now that you were going, your heart was racing at a very fast pace. You were nervous, yes, but also very excited to see him again. Maybe he only saw you as a friend, but you couldn't deny your feelings for him. He was the most beautiful thing you had seen - just thinking of how he made you feel was enough to make you tear up.
It felt like a millennia had gone by since you had heard his sweet voice - since you had seen his gorgeous face - since you had met someone as caring and loving as him. Your heart was heavy and impatient as Hoseok parked in front of Seokjin's house.
"Would you like to come in too?" you ask him, but he politely declined, saying that he'll wait for you outside instead. Mustering up all your courage, you got out of the car and left for the door.
It was a beautiful night. You hoped it symbolised new beginnings, hope for the future. You hoped it meant that your relationship with Seokjin would strengthen instead of fall apart tonight. Appreciating the twilight sky, you looked down at the polished door, and then, taking a deep breath one last time, you rang the bell.
You stayed utterly quiet as you waited for the door to open. You looked back to see Hoseok staring at you expectantly, letting your nerves get the best of you. It was in that moment that the door opened, making your heart skip a beat.
"Y/n?" there it was. The sweetest of voices - smooth like honey, it sounded like one of the most ethereal ones you could hear - almost something you'd hear in heaven. You locked your eyes with Seokjin's dark ones, losing yourself. Your heart felt at home, and a smile found its way to your face. You didn't reply with anything. You could only stare into his eyes and see the warmth in it, adore his heavenly features, and hope he'd want to be friends with you again.
You were willing to be a friend for now, if that's what he needed.
"Hi Seokjin. It's been a while, hasn't it?" you giggle softly, your hands cold but you couldn't be happier than with him. "Do you… want to come inside?" he moved aside and you went inside, your heart feeling fulfilled. "I was wondering if you were okay? You haven't been answering my calls or responding to my texts… and I really missed you." You could see how Seokjin tensed up at your words, and at the mention of the incident.
"I... You know, it's fine, things will turn out t-" but Seokjin had cut you off before you could explain anything. "Y/n," his voice was meek as he spoke. "I'm unemployed, for God's sake! I-I don't have any money after I spend the saved up one, and I-I won't be able to feed Haneul in the near future! I-I wouldn't be able to afford anything. T-Then we'd get kicked out and live on the streets…" he stammers, breathing unevenly.
You listened to him in acute silence, taking in each and every word. "Things are not going to turn better. Who's going… to pay for his school fees when he has to go…? How will I buy him his toys…? H-How will I provide for him?" he sat down on the couch, holding his head in his hands. You wished you could have offered him something, something that would fix everything, but nothing came to mind.
"Jimin… he fired me because of the fact that he thought we were together. And because I made him look bad in front of his old friends, but what he doesn't understand is that he was already bad in their eyes!" he exclaims, the words hitting you like a dagger to your heart. A chill ran down your spine. "I'm... s-so sorry…" you whisper, walking to the male and bending down in front of him.
You moved away his hands to look in his eyes. "I…" and then something hit you. Like an explosion, an idea formed in your mind. An alternative way to solve his problems - to fix it all if fortune was on his side. If only he was willing to go through it. There was always a resolution.
"I have an idea."
"What?"
"Follow your dream. Try becoming what you've always wanted to become - an actor."
Seokjin's eyes widened. "You're not serious, are you? Who'll take care of Haneul?" he asks, a horrified expression covering his face, but you could only smile. "What am I here for?" you took your chance. "Look, Jin, I've always… really enjoyed your company. And…" you could feel your heart beating against your chest so violently, that you were scared he'd hear it. "And if you don't like me back, it's fine. I'll still take care of Haneul. And we'll still remain friends. O-Of course, if you want that," you added the last few words hesitantly, stuttering a little.
His response was silence, but it wasn't uneasy. It felt like home. It felt like a welcome back, acceptance. You looked down at the ground, nodding to an unheard melody. Maybe you were accepting the fact that he had no answer for you - because he didn't have feelings for you as you did for him. You could feel his unsteady gaze on you. Getting up, you gave his wide-eyed face a soft smile. "It's fine," you could hear the rejection coming. For once, you didn't need to hear it to know it was a reality. "People fall in love and whatnot," you shrugged lightly, letting a hollow laugh leave your lips.
Your heart was empty and heavy. But your words were lighter than the air that surrounded the two of you. The silent melancholic atmosphere made you smile softly. Another end, another goodbye.
"Wait," his voice stopped you from going any further. "I didn't deny it yet," you looked at him, conflicted by his words. "Then deny it now?" you turned away. "Well… how do I put this…?" he laughed.
"I meant… I can't deny it. I love you. I mean... wasn't it obvious?"
Even the heart mistakened things sometimes.
Especially that one time, when you had given your blood sample to the doctor, so you could find you the gender of the baby as well as see for the possibility of chromosomal conditions. You had definitely thought karma would be giving you a boy, that forever symbolised Jimin in your life, but you couldn't have been more wrong. Approximately, six months later, you welcomed a little baby girl in your arms. It was impossible at the time who she looked more like as - you or Jimin - and you and Seokjin would constantly argue over that playfully, but in the end, life turned out to be a little more happier from then on.
Especially seeing as you had, not only your little girl with you, but also Seokjin and Haneul - symbolizing you were never alone from the very beginning.
HEARTZ LUDA DEBUT LIVE STREAM! .・。✭
Monday, 2020.07.06
It was more than just a little surprising that sphere actually gave her access to the group’s vlive channel right after debuting. Hopefully she wouldn’t say anything wrong, but she did take notes on things that she wasn’t allowed to talk about. Very general ones, so in case the notes reflected on something, no one would be able to make any sense of them. Probably unnecessary, but she’d always been a careful person.
As Luda set up the stream and waited for everything to load, it suddenly felt like there wasn’t enough oxygen in the room. Her hands were shaking a little, as she pulled a strand of hair back, out of her face and she took a deep breath. She’d never done this before, so she had no idea how it would turn out. Of course she’d tried to prepare herself as best as possible, watching other idol’s streams and such, but the practical experience was still missing. Maybe she should’ve asked Minhee to do this together.
She took deep breaths until it seemed to have loaded, her face immediately lit up, the corners of her mouth pulling into a big grin and her eyes scanning the screen to see if everything was as it should be or whether there was any kind of notification that the sound or any such thing wasn’t working properly. Luda bowed and waved at the viewers that already joined the stream, but those that watched from the very beginning would have caught her confused expression before she’d realised that the stream had already started.
She’d posted the link to her social media on the previous day, but had still worried if anyone would show up at all. Her smile only widened as the viewer’s numbers went up and her eyes went big once the counter hit 2.000. Maybe not a big number overall, but definitely to her.
“Hello! I’m Heartz’ girl of the month of July, Lee Luda!” she introduced herself, bowing politely again. “Should I introduce myself a little bit more, first?” she asked a little awkwardly once she was sitting up straight again and put attention to her posture being properly straight. “I’m currently 23 years old and grew up in Seoul as an only child, but my mum makes the best cakes in the world!” she chuckled, “Ah! And if you have any questions, please ask! I will do my best to answer as much as possible~” she was still smiling at the camera and looked at the comments section, until her eyes briefly switched to the camera again, “Of course I can’t answer anything about future debuts or plans, though!” she noted, her face looking more serious just for a moment.
Not sure if she should say anything more as she looked at the comments section, she started to hum “I’ll Be There”, so there wouldn’t be complete silence as she was reading.
“Oh,‘white, milk, or dark chocolate?’ someone wants to know, hmm,” she pondered, her index finger covered her lips and her eyes looked up to the side, in thought. Probably, she was taking this more serious than she needed to, but better this, than the opposite. She didn’t want anyone to think that she wasn’t taking them serious enough. “This is a really tough question, I love chocolate, but I think white has to be my favourite! Now, I know that white chocolate isn’t technically chocolate, but it’s delicious, especially with whole hazelnuts in it!” Luda chuckled. “I love other chocolate as well though, and- Ah! Do you guys know Tiramisu? My mum sometimes made it when I was a child, so she changed some ingredients up. She uses chocolate and cocoa powder! If you haven’t yet tried it, you definitely should! It’s also really easy to make!” she mentioned briefly about the coffee and alcohol free version she grew up with.
“Hmm~“ she hummed scrolling further and stopped at a random one, closing her eyes until she stopped at a random comment and read it aloud, “ Sangkeumyuzu says ‘Eonni, I love you~’ “ she chuckled, holding one hand in front of her face, a little embarrassed, “Aaah, thank you! Eonni loves you too~“ she said, blushing, her thin layer of makeup unable to hide it. Not sure how to properly react, she shyly went on to the next comment.
“What else do we have~~ Ah, KingKiwi97 asked: “Who are your role-models? Please sing us a song from your favourite artist!’ that’s easy!” she was grinning again, happy to have gotten a question that asked her to sing. There were two artists she had in mind and the first artist’s song she’d heard and sung so often, it came quite naturally to her. She took a sip of water, turned to the side of the frame, before she started.
Sky that pours light (I) stand under it Fly as if I’m dreaming My life is a beauty
She sang a few lines, with her eyes closed, before she stopped and looked into the camera again. She wasn’t sure how much she should sing, not wanting to bore anyone, but wanting to follow through with the request as well. “Chi Chi’s Nara has such a beautiful voice, right? I’ve been a fan of hers for a really long time. And as for my favourite group…”
I shouldn’t have let you go like that What was so great about my pride that I couldn’t hold onto you? I can’t believe that I won’t ever see you again When you were all I knew
This night is still following you No matter how hard I try, I miss you so much This night is passing I hate myself for not being able to sleep without you No matter how much I wait, you’re not here And I can’t sleep
When will I get over you and fall asleep comfortably? I just can’t help it, I’m just waiting for morning to come
“Sorry, I know it’s a bit sad,” she smiled after doing her best to sing, again, sounding calm but befittingly sad. They both were songs she’s sung over and over again, so she was pretty confident in having done well. “But Melody Day is one of my favourite groups as well, they all sing sooo well, right? Their osts are always great… but really, there are so many great artists, I could list them all day!” she chuckled. “Let me know if I should sing you something more, okay?”
“Notice me? I’ve officially noticed you!“ she laughed, though she wasn’t sure if that was really such a great thing. “Oh, but Sangkeumyuzu aren’t you the same person as earlier? Then I’ve already noticed you!“ she said.
“My favourite sport?” she hummed, thinking for a moment as she tilted her head to the side, her index finger toughing the bottom of her chin. “I’m not sure if this counts, but I like doing Yoga, it’s relaxing, but it can also be quite difficult! I like jogging too and if I can manage to go, I love swimming! I heard it’s very healthy to swim, yet not as exhausting on the body, for example on the ankles and joints in general!” she started losing her trail of thoughts a little and just went rambling on for a moment, until she caught herself soon after. “Is there any type of sport you can recommend to me?” she added.
The next question made Luda chuckle, it just sounded too adorable. “Hm… mini_bunny asked '5 minhees or a 5 year old minhee?’ That’s a tough question… Minhee-unnie is a great person you know? If you haven’t yet you should watch her music videos!! It’s a very fun song and video, and she did just perfectly! And she always works so hard!” she wasn’t only smiling brightly as before, but the admiration for her friend was quite evident in her expression and choice of words. However, that didn’t make the question any easier. “Minhee is great, but 5 Minhees would be 5 times as great right? Then again, there can only be one real Minhee…” she said with furrowed brows, taking the question much more serious than it was probably intended to be. “But Minhee as a five year old must be sooo adorable, I’d like to see that! She always takes great care of me, of anyone around her honestly, so I’d like to be the older one for once and give back all the kindness!” Luda nodded to affirm her statement.
“Let’s see what the next one says... Oh?” she said, grinning widely, recognising the handle. “It’s from user Sangkeumyuzu again! Thank you for dedication!” she said, bowing politely, not really having expected anyone to keep commenting like this. And she wasn’t going to lie, it made her happy, which her smile showed quite obviously. “ ‘I’m your biggest faaaaan’ “ Again, she wasn’t sure how to react and again, she hid behind her hands, chuckling and blushing. “Thank you very much, this makes me very happy to hear!” She finally said, sincerely looking at the camera as she did so.
There were many more comments than she’d expected. Surely not as many as someone popular would have, but that was fine, she was just happy that some people cared at all. It was crazy to think about how she was actually officially debuted now, but she couldn’t concentrate on that, shouldn’t let herself be distracted so easily.
“Hmm, there’s a few of you asking what my favourite animal is, but can you guess?” she returned the question and chuckled reading the comments section. “Dogs, cats… and sheep? That’s an interesting answer, I do like sheep, they’re so fluffy, round and soft! But they’re not quite my favourites… Bumblebees? They’re also cute and so round! I never would have guessed you’d answer so creatively, I fear my answer will be really boring compared to that~” Luda paused for a moment, for some added 'suspense’ if one could call it that. “Those saying cats were right! Though dogs are a close second. I love how determined cats are! They know what they want and they work hard to get there! For example with those toys that hide treats inside of them. And when a cat shows affection once in a blue moon… that feels super special, right?”
Scanning the messages again, her lips were quickly pulled into a cute pout, “Ah, I told you my answer wouldn’t be as interesting, don’t be too disappointed, okay~~?” she asked of the viewers that indeed seemed to have expected a more interesting answer. “But I was very lucky, because I got to film with cats! There were so so many cats in the music video! Have you seen it yet? I hope that if you haven’t, you will~~ The staff and I put a lot of effort in, to make it the best it can be! But I promise to learn more and do better in the future as well!” her eyes were clear as she looked at the camera. She was still nervous, but not shaking anymore and Luda was almost surprised at how much fun she had while streaming. It was a great feeling, really.
“What’s your favourite item?” again, she didn’t need to think for very long. Her instinct was to jump up and get the little device, but instead she decided to stay and search the item on the internet. “This little thing right here, does anyone know what it is?” Luda asked, holding her phone in front of the camera, not considering that she could’ve gotten a message from someone, saying something that wasn’t meant for the public eye. Luckily nothing happened. Her eyes widened a little, her mouth forming the appropriate “o” to go with it and she chuckled, glad that the little mini-heart attack she just got was easy to distract herself from. “Of course you guys are smart! You’re right, it’s a galaxy projector! A dear friend gave it to me as a birthday gift! It’s very nice to just turn the lights off and look at the projected galaxy on the ceiling! Very calming and a little… mysterious? I like it very much.”
The stream had been going on for a while and she started to suppress the yawns that crawled up on her. “It’s getting late, so I’ll choose one last question!” she announced, smiling softly. Her eyes moved over the words written by complete strangers, something she’d never thought she’d get to do. Especially not this soon.
“Can you sing me a lullaby?” she repeated aloud. “That sounds like a good way to end the stream, right? Hm… Ah!” she looked directly at the camera again, after looking to the side to think, her index finger pointing up as her mind spontaneously formed a plan. “I’ll sing you two lullabies, okay? The first one is a little bit more upbeat and called 'Night Moon’ by SBGB the second one is a little more sad but also calmer, making it easier to fall asleep to, it’s called 'How are you, my dear’ by Saevom~”
She played both song’s instrumentals over her phone, one after the other, and sang softly. Sometimes she looked off to the bottom/side, but more often than that Luda looked at the camera, a soft smile on her lips here and there, but she was concentrating on singing well first and foremost. Her voice was clear and she realised what a perfect fit “Around You” really was for her… maybe she should’ve sung that instead? But she didn’t want to look like she was shamelessly promoting her own song either.
The second song ended and she quietly looked at the camera for a moment, still smiling softly. “What do you think?” She asked, whispering, “Next time I will sing 'Around You’ for you, so be sure to watch again, okay?” she decided on the spot, wanting to point out that she hadn’t forgotten her own song at all. “Good night, everyone, and I hope you can sleep a little easier tonight. Don’t go to sleep too late, alright?” she continued whispering, having heard about asmr recently. After waving at the camera and making finger hearts with both hands, accompanied by a cute face, she ended the stream. Luda was weirdly happy but also felt somehow empty. It was hard to grasp and describe.
But after this she decided she wanted to be to fans what lullabies were to her. A comfort, giving the feeling of calmness and making it easier for people to sleep, so they could get a good night’s rest to start afresh on a new morning. She wanted to be the voice people heard before they sunk into a deep, comfortable sleep, dreaming about whatever it was they most wanted to dream about.
Tumblr media
Title: The Difference Between Fiction and Fact Chapter 2: Take me with you Genre: Angst, Romance Characters: NCT127 ft. Lucas, Mirae (oc), Minhee (oc) Trigger Warning: This story contains bullying, suicide attempts, and reference to rape I will make sure to mark with a TW warning on the chapters that contain it.
Poster made by: bbyhoseok on AFF
"Good Morning Auntie!" The young boy grinned as he hugged the older woman. "Morning? It's 12 pm!" The woman leaned away playfully glaring at him. The boy whined and gave her a pout "It's the weekend I wanted to sleep in for a bit,"
"Okay okay, stop whining and go do the dishes,"
"Why do I have to do the dishes? Let Heeyeon noona do it!"
"She's is helping in the restaurant cleaning the tables and serving the customers, so you're going to help with the dishes, we can't serve our customers their food on dirty plates, now go,"
She smacked the younger males butt as she pushed him towards the kitchen.
The restaurant doors opened and a girl walked in taking a seat on a small table by the wall, the lady smiled walking over to her, "Oh my, Mirae,  it's been a while, it's nice to see you again sweetie, how are you?" Mirae smiled "I'm fine, and how are you , Mrs. Moon?" she asked.
"I'm fine as well, would you like to order the usual?"
"Yes please! That would be great,"
Mrs. Moon nodded and walked towards the kitchen, "Taeil we have an order of beef bibimbap and a cola," Mrs. Moon called out "On it, Mom!" Taeil responded as he went to ask his dad to make the order. Mrs. Moon put some side dishes together and brought it on the tray setting it on Mirae's table. "If you need anything else let me know okay?" Mirae nodded and gave Mrs. Moon a smile before taking out her notebooks.
Mirae took her time eating her food, when she finished she opened her notebook and started to write in it.
The girl watched the interactions of the owners kids and laughed quietly to herself when she saw Heeyeon smack Yuta on the back of the head. "ah noona~" the boy whined, "there are customers watching, why are you doing this in front of everyone?" Heeyeon shrugged, "good let them watch so that you can stop fooling around,"
Mirae felt her phone begin to vibrate, she reached into her pocket and smiled when she saw her father calling, "Hi dad!" she answered excitedly, "Oh Mirae, we need you to come home right away we have something important to tell you," Mirae was about to ask what was so important but before she could her father had already hung up on her.
Mirae sighed and collected her things leaving the restaurant to take the bus home.
When she got home she saw her parents sitting in the living room, she sat beside her mother and looked at both of them.
"What's up? What did you have to tell me?"
"Well me and your mother are going on a business trip to England tomorrow morning," her father explained. Mirae furrowed her brows, "so we want you to pack your things, anything that you need, we're going to be gone for a month," Mirae perked up, "Am I going with you?" Her parent shook their heads, "No sweetie we can't bring you with us, you'll be staying at your uncles house, they'll be picking you up from home after school tomorrow, we'll leave you a credit card and some cash to use while we're gone,"
Mirae's eyes widened, "But...I want to go with you, I'd rather go with you than stay with him!"
"Sweetie, we can't have you miss a month of school, we don't have anyone else we trust around here for you to stay with,"
"But mom, I don't want to stay with them, I can do home school or something or....or at least  let me stay home alone, please? I can take care of myself and I know how to co-"
"We can't it's dangerous to leave you home alone,"
"It doesn't matter, I'm always home alone anyway! You guys are never home you're always out at work or some kind of business trip! So what difference would it make if you just left me home alone this time? I'm 18 I can take of myself..." Mirae practically shouted at her parents. "Mirae, just stay with your uncle, he'll take care of you and you get home cooked meals and the-"
Mirae cut her father off as he spoke, "No I don't care! I know how to cook! I know how to clean! I've always been taking care of myself. I don't want to go there, I don't like it there, if you can't leave me home alone then just take me with you instead. I'd rather be home alone in an empty house then alone with them!" Mirae stood up "You never listen to me and you're always doing as you want, why can't you just listen to me for once? You guys never care about how I feel about anything, I hate you!" She shouted in anger before running up to her room.
Mirae decided to skip school the next day, she stayed in bed and didn't bother saying good bye to her parents when they left early in the morning. Her parents were already almost never home and now they were leaving her for a month. She started to feel as if her parents didn't want to be around her, that they never loved her. They were never there for her for anything, not when she won those art competitions, not when she needed a hug, not when she was in the hospital. They only ever called to check up on her but nothing more. They don't know what goes on with her or what she liked and disliked, they almost knew nothing about her.
She didn't want much from her parents, all she wanted was to just have a normal family life, for them to love her and care for her. But it just seemed like they did anything they could to avoid her. She began to cry and scream into her pillow, cursing her parents and the world.
Soon she finally decided to force herself out of bed and began to pack her things into a large suit case. When she finished packing her things she filled her tub and sunk herself into the warm water, closing her eyes. She began thinking about how she could avoid being around her uncle and cousin, she hated the both of them and didn't even want to breath the same air as them.
After she finished relaxing in the bath she got dressed and took her suitcase down the stairs. She sat on the Sofa as she waited for her uncle and his wife to pick her up.
When they arrived to her uncle's house, her aunt showed her to her room, the room was her eldest daughter's old room before she got married. Mirae thanked her aunt before closing the door behind her. She opened her suitcase and began to unpack her things.
"Haechan, did you really not do your homework again?"
"I figured, why should I do it myself when you can do it for me?" The younger boy grinned as the older rolled his eyes "I'm not doing your homework for you,"
"Okay but what if, I can talk to your girl crush and get you two closer?"
"N-no you can't sway me like that, plus I don't trust you,"
"But Mark, listen...listen Mark...we are partners on a project and I have her number, I can totally help you out,"
Mark was silent for a moment before letting out a defeated sigh "Fine, but don't be weird about it, where's your homework?"
Haechan smirked and was about to open his bag to hand his homework over to Mark when they heard a couple of girls talking.
"Ugh my parents gave me another earful last night because I couldn't get passed that bitch Mirae in the school ranking again,"
"How does she even keep getting better marks than you anyway? She's probably fucking the teacher than dumb whore,"
"I mean she has no friends she has no choice but to study since she get a life,"
"I'm going to humiliate her....girls come close here's the plan,"
Haechan and Mark were sitting on the stairs above the girls and had heard everything. The two looked at each other as they heard the plan be explained. Once the girls left Haechan stood up "I have an idea,"
"Usually you having an idea is always bad and I would reject your idea's but this time I think I'm going to like your idea, hit me with it,"
Genre: Dom/sub!AU, Smut, angst fluff
Word Count: 2287
Tumblr media
 How did you end up with him? Even if you tried to explain it to someone, they would find it hard to believe. You couldn’t quite believe it yourself, but here you were, with him, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
It all started several months ago after the worst week of your life. You had found, your now ex-roommate sleeping with your now ex-boyfriend, in your apartment. You kicked them out, only to come back to a nearly empty apartment. To top that off, you were moved to a position at your work, in which you had no idea whatsoever what you were doing. You were exhausted, mentally spent by the time Friday arrived.
“C’mon Y/N! You need a night out! After your shit week, you need to unwind and just forget everything.” your best friend, Haeri, whined.
“Hae, after this week, I just want to curl up on this bare floor and watch Youtube videos on my phone.” you whined back in response.
“No way in hell am I letting you do that! Now, hold your pretty little head up and get ready.”
You tried arguing with her, finally giving in when she grabbed your hand and half drug you to the bathroom. You had to admit, the steaming hot water eased your tensed muscles. You showered while Haeri sat atop the commode explaining what she had planned for tonight.
“First off, I am treating you to dinner, then we are going to Octagon and get plastered and dance our cares away. Chenyeol and Minhee are coming too.”, her voice filled with excitement.
“I don’t know if I am going to be much company.” you sighed.
“I will make sure you have a blast. Now, finish your shower so we can get you dressed.”
Once you dried off and wrapped your hair in a towel, both of you headed to the closet. You held up different clothes, Haeri either nodding or shaking her head to your selections. At last, you settled on black skinny jeans and a silky purple cropped top. To complete the outfit you wore your thin-strapped silver heels, bringing your short stature up a few inches. Once you had put makeup on and styled your Y/H/C, putting it up in a loose bun with a few strands framing your face, you both headed out the door.
Octagon was one of the most famous clubs in South Korea, always having a line outside waiting to get in. Luckily, you were friends with the bouncers and were able to get in with Haeri promising to get him a table at her restaurant. She was the owner and head chef at a popular Ramen restaurant in town. Once inside, the music attacked your ears, the lights distorting your vision with reds, greens and blues swirling around the building. You settled at a table to the back of the club, far enough from the dance floor so everyone didn’t have to scream at each other to converse. Chen and Minhee came about thirty minutes later, of course matching each other.
You had to admit that you were a tad jealous of their relationship. They had met in Secondary school and had been together ever since. He treated her like a queen, looked at her like she was the only person on the planet. In turn, she adored him, all the time finding ways to compliment him or make him smile. They were set to be married early next year, and you knew if any couple would stand the test of time, they were that couple.
Hugs went around the table, the couple saying how sorry they were about your crappy week. Haeri order the first round of drinks, making sure to tell the server discreetly to make yours a double. By the time it came around for you to order the round, you were quite inebriated. Your friends headed to the dance floor, leaving you behind to wait on the drinks. You were glad too, not wanting to get crushed by a mass of sweaty bodies. Scanning the club, your eyes settled on the front doors.
When he stepped in, you froze. Silvery-blonde hair, styled in the perfect messy look, long legs carrying him across the floor. His holey black jeans appeared to be painted on his lower half, holes placed strategically. His white shirt was half-tucked, accentuating his narrow hips. Buttons undone just enough to show his smooth caramel chocolate skin. He headed straight for the bar, stopping momentarily to greet a few people. You were brought back to reality as the server brought your drinks over. Thanking her, you quickly looked back at the bar, immediately disappointed that he was now gone. You looked around, searching for the distinct hair color amidst the crowd. Turning in your chair, you came face to face with him.
“Were you looking for someone?” he asked, voice deep and dripping with honey.
“I-I, uh, um, no. I was just looking for my friends.” you were a terrible liar.
“Really? Cause I am pretty sure you were staring at me a few minutes ago.”
Man he’s is one confidently brazen man, you thought to yourself. You didn’t notice him looking your way when you were checking him out.
“No I wasn’t. Like I said, I was looking for my friends.”you replied in a shy soft voice.
“Okay, if that’s the story your sticking to.” he smirked as he watched your cheeks get redder by the second.
At that moment, your friends returned from the dance floor, stopping to look at the man standing in front of you.
“Hello, there handsome.” Haeri winked as she addressed him.
“Hey.” was all he said as he grabbed your wrist. Pulling you from the chair, he led you through the crowd, everybody moving as he passed by. Once he had you at the center, he spun around, pulling you into his body. A hand wrapped around your waist, holding you against him. You could feel his muscles through the thin material of his shirt. His eyes never left yours as you swayed in synch to the music. Everyone and everything disappeared around you, the two of you the only ones dancing. When the music stopped, he took your wrist once more leading you away from the floor.
All eyes were on you as you approached the table. Before stepping away, he leaned down to whisper in your ear.
“You do not leave here tonight unless it’s with me. Understand?”,the tone, one of command.
You simply looked up at him through your lashes, nodding slowly. He placed a chaste kiss to the top of your head, then turned to walk away.
“Oh my god, Y/N! Who in the hell was that greek god?” Haeri screamed over the music.
“I don’t know, I never got his name. One minute, I’m sitting here, then next I am on the dance floor. Next thing I know, I’m back here at the table.” your confusion had you a tad unsettled.
“You mean to tell me you never got his name? Yet you danced with him like nobody’s business. You should have seen how you two moved together. Like you knew each other’s body so well.”
“We did? I guess I kind of zoned out. He kept looking at me and, I don’t know.”, you were blushing again recalling the way his eyes pierced to your very soul. When he looked at you, you were entranced.
You grabbed your waiting drink, downing it in a quick gulp. Your hand shot up to order another, much stiffer, drink. When it arrived, you once again downed it in a hurry. Feeling your nerves relax a little, you joined in on the conversation your friends were having. They even convinced you to join them in dancing. As you made your way to the center of the crowd, you felt eyes on you, the hairs on your arms standing on end. You glanced quickly around, but you were unable to see him anywhere. You shook your head, clearing any thoughts and just let the music take you over. Not once did anyone try to dance with you, bump into you, or lay any hands on your body.
When you had danced through three more songs, you motioned to Minhee that you were heading to the table for a drink. She nodded then told the others who were next to her. You weaved your way out, slumping into your seat at the table. You were way over the drunk level and you were beginning to get tired. You decided to send Haeri a text, telling her you were leaving and you would talk to her later. After sending the message, you grabbed you purse from the coat-check room and was about to head out. Suddenly you remembered his command about not leaving without him. You did agree, even if you didn’t see him again after he left.
That’s when you felt a familiar grasp on your wrist. Spinning your head around to quickly, you began to stumble, your body landing firmly along his tall frame. Arms were instantly engulfing you to keep you upright and steady.
“I thought I told you not to leave unless I was taking you out of here. So, where were you going?” again the deep voice carried it’s controlling tone.
“I-I just didn’t, didn’t see you around. I’m way past my drinking limit and was going home to sleep it off.” you were suddenly sounding guilty, for what though, you didn’t know.
“Well then, I guess I’m leaving too. Stay right here, I’ll be back in a minute.’ then he was off again.
The lady at the door to the coat-check was glaring at you, making you lower your head and avert your eyes away.
In barely a minute, he was back, keys in hand. This time instead of grabbing your wrist, he wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you beside him. Blindly, you walked with him, noticing many women staring at you as you walked past them. Other men were greeting him as he passed, he returned every greeting with a nod. Finally you both stepped out into the cool nighttime air. The crisp breeze brought your senses back to you. You looked to your side, staring at him as you stood still at the street.
“Umm, can I ask you something?” you tugged at his arm, noticing the hint of a tattoo under the rolled up sleeve.
“Go ahead.” he said without looking at you.
“What’s your name? If I am leaving here with you, I think I should at least know your name.”
“It’s Wonsik, but everyone calls me Ravi. I already know yours Y/N.” he said looking down at you.
“How? Who told you?” you looked shocked, but weren’t really surprised.
“I have my ways.” was his only answer.
He started walking again, crossing the street to a parking garage. Taking the keys he held, he pressed a button on a key fob, causing a large metal door to rise up. Behind the door was a black Audi R8. Clicking another button, the doors unlocked. He led you to the passenger side, opening the door so you could slide in. Then he was quickly around to the drivers door. As he settled into his seat, the engine purred to life. The top was down, the radio playing some popular song. Looking over at you, he suddenly reached across your body, his eyes rolling as he took hold of the seatbelt to buckle you in.
“Are you taking me home?” you asked simply.
“Do you want me to take you home?”
“Then where else would we be going?” you retorted, sounding braver than you were feeling.
“I’m not sure yet. I thought about taking you back to my place, but evidently you are in no shape to continue a private drinking party for two.”
“I said I was past my drinking limit, never said I was too drunk to have more drinks!” you raised your voice slightly, then lowered your head when he stared back at you.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to yell.”
“That’s better. Now, shall we go to my place or yours?”
“I live alone, but my place is kind of empty right now. Long story.”
“Then your place it is.”
He put the car in drive, heading out of the garage. After a few turns, you realized you hadn’t told him where you lived. But, here he was, taking every turn as if he had taken them a hundred times. You just looked at him, wondering how he knew who you were, let alone where you live. You were just about to ask when he pulled into the parking lot of your complex. Turning the car off, he got out and came around to open the door for you.
“How-” you started.
“I told you, I have my ways.”
“But this is stalker level knowing.” you chuckled when you realized what you had said.
He walked beside you this time, not taking a wrist or holding your waist. He followed you up the stairs, waiting as you fumbled for your keys.
Once inside, you were suddenly ashamed of how bare your place was, as you watched him look around.
“So, you said it was a long story, wanna tell me?” it was more of a statement than a question.
You proceeded to spill your story out to him, he would simply nod or raise an eyebrow as you spoke. When you finished, you took a deep breath, exhaling slowly.
“And that’s how I ended up at the club tonight.” you ended the story.
If Hoseok heard one more word about the hunter ‘ambassador’ who’d taken up residence in the manor, he thought he would scream. The younger ones were especially enthusiastic about you and your cat, and even Yoongi walked around with that dumbass smile once in a while, usually after spending time with you.
Thankfully, they’d quickly realized that he wasn’t all that interested in talking about you after he shut them down or walked away mid-conversation. It wasn’t the most polite way to go about it, but telling them with words hadn’t really worked to dampen their enthusiasm.
It was just that Hoseok didn’t really feel like meeting anyone new. It wasn’t anything personal, it was just that he didn’t quite have the energy to engage with anything much these days. The others, for the most part, understood, especially the older ones who knew exactly what he’d been through.
Instead of spending his time out and about like the others did, he was holed up in his suite most of the time. He’d had a small fridge installed so he could keep his blood there instead of going down to the main fridge every day like the others did, and usually spent hours staring at the miniature portrait of Minhee. It was the only rendering she’d posed for before she died. He knew his brothers didn’t think it was the healthiest thing to do, but they left him alone for the most part.
After all, it wasn’t common for a vampire to survive losing his mate – they agreed that all things considered, Hoseok was doing fairly well, even if he was a shell of his former jovial self. If they hoped he would come out of his shell a little more to make friends with the human girl who now lived with them, they mostly kept it to themselves after Hoseok had made it clear that he wasn’t interested in playing nice with hunters.
---------------------------------
Injeolmi had really taken to life in the manor, you were pleased to note. You weren’t quite ready to let him just run around without your supervision yet, but he was growing more confident whenever you let him out of your room to run around the mansion. There were litter boxes installed in various other rooms, too, like the library where you tended to spend a lot of time. You were on your way there again, Injeolmi following you like he did most days, when the cat suddenly made a break for it.
You were stunned for a moment, trying to process what had happened. Your sweet baby had never done something like this before, and it took you a second to gather yourself enough to run after him. “Injeolmi, stop!” you called, but since today was apparently a day of firsts, he ignored you.
As you rounded the corner, you wondered why there were so many random hallways in this manor, anyway. It looked like it was just the seven of them (and you now, of course) and they didn’t even have any servants. You were still unsure of how the whole place stayed so clean, since it wasn’t like you’d ever seen any of them pick up a broom.
Hoseok was having a normal day – for him, anyway – up till that point. He had the miniature of Minhee in his hand as he sucked down his snack, his door slightly ajar to let the others know that he was feeling up to their company that day. He heard the ruckus occurring outside and rolled his eyes, but stayed on the couch. Hopefully, the noisy new human resident would just run past. He didn’t think she’d ever been in this wing of the mansion before, and she definitely didn’t know it was his room.
Hearing the door to his room move slightly, he whipped around in surprise, half-expecting you to be standing there. He didn’t see anyone in the entryway, however, and sat up more fully to peer over the back of the couch. A small chatter caught his attention, and he craned his neck further to see a cat standing in the gap he’d left.
“Hello,” he said out of habit to the cat, which meowed again at him and took a couple more steps into the room. “What’s a cat doing in the house?” he asked no one in particular, having forgotten momentarily that you’d brought your furry companion with you when you moved in.
Injeolmi, showing a remarkable lack of fear, just waltzed right in and hopped up on the couch to sit next to Hoseok, chattering at him. Belatedly remembering that you’d brought a cat into the compound, he just sighed and frowned at said cat. “You’re really a hassle, you know that?” he grumbled, gently shooing the cat away so that he wouldn’t have to return him.
Flicking his ears, Injeolmi just turned away, as if he couldn’t be bothered to dignify Hoseok’s complaints with a response. He could hear you approaching, still calling for your cat and stomping down the hallway.
“You little prick,” he accused, though the words didn’t have any heat behind them. Gently, he picked the cat up – and cats had no business being this big, he thought – and carried him back to the door, putting him down on the floor and patting his butt to get him to leave. “Go on,” he urged, although the cat hardly seemed interested, instead sprawling out across the floor.
The footsteps were coming close now, and he knew you were about to walk past at any moment. Perhaps if everything was quiet, you wouldn’t notice, and would just walk by…? He could kick the cat out of the room once you rounded the corner, and wouldn’t have to make any awkward introductions.
Of course, he could never be so lucky. Just as you were passing by his room, the goddamn cat let out the loudest meow he’d heard in hundreds of years on this earth. Panicked, he leaned down – just as you heard Injeolmi give what you assumed had to be a wail of distress and burst into the room, gun cocked and ready to defend your baby.
“Back the fuck away from the cat!” you cried, immediately aiming your gun at the man who was leaning down towards Injeolmi, for whatever nefarious purposes. He looked up at you in shock, and your aim faltered for just a second as you recognized the man in the painting. The last vampire. Who was glaring up at you in irritation, and none of the fear you would expect from someone who had a gun trained right between their eyes.
Instead, you watched as his furrowed brow smoothed for a second as he gaped, his eyes wide with shock, at you, before resuming his initial stern expression. “Your cat was the one who barged into my room,” he snapped, although his voice hid an odd tremor. “Just take it away.”
“Uh, okay,” you said, sliding your gun back into its holster since it didn’t look like he was a threat to either you or Injeolmi. You were about to ask whether he was doing all right, since he looked a little pale and off, but he got up abruptly and turned away from you, walking back to the couch and sitting down. He stubbornly refused to look at you again, and you felt a little sulky, since you’d been curious about him for a while, and now that he was here you wanted to ask him some questions and find out more about him.
Still, since he’d walked away from you, there was no way to assuage your curiosity today. “Come on, baby,” you said in a far higher-pitched tone to Injeolmi, squatting to gather him up in your arms. He was pliant and obedient for you as always, happy to be held by you, and it was almost hard for you to believe that this was the same cat that had run off earlier. Injeolmi was the laziest cat ever, and that had been wholly uncharacteristic of him.
Standing up with Injeolmi cradled in your arms, you turned to leave the room. “Ah, do you want the door open or shut?” you asked as you hovered right outside.
“Shut,” the mysterious man inside said firmly, and you shrugged as you followed his instruction before continuing on your path to the library.
“You’re a really naughty boy,” you cooed at Injeolmi, jiggling him a little in your arms nonetheless. When you let yourself into the library, you put Injeolmi down and he went and settled down in the one spot where there was sunlight, streaming in through a small crack in the floor-to-ceiling curtains that had been left there specially for him.
Shaking your head at him, you drifted further into the library, to the sitting area near the back. Namjoon was already there, with Jin. They had their little blood bags in front of them on the coffee table, which you could mostly ignore as long as you thought of them as Capri Suns. “Hello,” Namjoon greeted, while Jin just smiled at you. “I chose something new for you today,” he continued, leaning forward to tap the cover of a book he had resting on the table.
You smiled at him. “Thank you,” you said, coming to sit next to him. Leaning forward to pick up the book, you completely missed the way he stiffened as you sank into the comfortable couch, and Jin’s responding smirk at his brother’s momentary loss of composure. Because you’d never had much time at the Guild to pick up hobbies like reading, you’d been completely blown away by the size of the library, and Namjoon had taken it upon himself to pick different books of different genres and on various topics for you to decide what you liked reading. So far, you were really into thrillers and memoirs, but you were definitely hiding a secret love for romance novels.
Opening the book, you were soon so immersed in reading that you completely forgot to ask them about the man you’d just met.
---------------------------------
Hoseok was, to put it mildly, freaking out. He held the portait of Minhee in his left hand, while reaching for the bag of blood he’d been nursing with the right, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to drink it. His hand shook slightly as he raised his drink to his mouth, hoping against hope that he was wrong.
The moment the blood bag neared his mouth, though, the smell of the blood became too much, and nausea bubbled up in him.
“Fuck.” He tossed the bag back down onto the table, grimacing.
There was no way this was possible. You couldn’t be his mate. Vampires didn’t get more than one, and he still remembered her dying in his arms, despite his frantic attempts to stop the bleeding. Her whispered apology as her life slipped away haunted his nightmares.
And yet… you smelled just like Minhee. You’d think that four hundred years away from his mate would have dulled the memories, but he recalled exactly how her blood had smelled and tasted, like absolute perfection. When he’d scented you, it had taken all his willpower to stop his eyes from changing colour and his fangs from descending.
“Minhee-ah… what’s going on?” he murmured, tracing the edges of the portrait with his thumb. His mind raced, and he knew there was only one person in the house who might possibly know the answer to that question.
-------------------------------------
Conveniently, Namjoon was in Jin’s study with him that evening when Hoseok came, so he could tell them both about the problem he’d encountered today.
When he knocked and entered the study, Jin and Namjoon both gaped at him for a second before Jin gathered himself. “Hobi, hello,” he said smoothly, covering up his surprise. “What brings you out here tonight?”
Hoseok frowned. Seokjin was talking like he never came to hang out with his brothers, which wasn’t true at all. He’d been getting better about spending time with others… at least until you arrived.
“I met our new housemate today,” Hoseok said by way of greeting.
Namjoon and Jin exchanged slightly panicked glances. “And… what did you think?” Jin prompted, trying to hide his unease. Hoseok hadn’t been the most cheerful or chatty person for a long time now, and this whole situation, while not ideal for anyone involved, was definitely something that would upset him.
Hoseok hummed, trying to find the words to explain. He didn’t know whether to ease into it or just blurt it out, and he didn’t know how much his brothers already knew. They’d been good friends with Minhee as well, since the four older vampires had always been together.
“Do you remember Minhee?” he asked, sidestepping his hyung’s question.
From the way both Namjoon and Jin gaped at him, he had a sinking feeling that both his brothers knew exactly where he was going with this.
“When were you going to tell me?” he said tiredly, running his hand over his face.
“Uh…” Jin started getting a deer-in-the-headlights look, so Namjoon stepped in.
“We just weren’t sure what all this meant, and we didn’t want to bother you unnecessarily,” he explained. “The whole situation is really strange, and none of us really know what to make of it…”
From what he was saying, it seemed like there was more at hand than this girl’s unexplained connection to Minhee, and Hoseok’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean by this ‘whole situation’?”
“Jesus,” Jin muttered under his breath. “Good going, Joon.”
Namjoon cringed, knowing he’d messed up.
“You guys seem to have some explaining to do.” Hoseok pulled the chair out from Jin’s desk and slung himself into it casually.
“Right, I suppose we do,” Jin sighed, massaging his temples.
“Well?” Hoseok asked, his brow raising as Jin didn’t say anything else after that.
Jin looked over Hoseok’s shoulder at Namjoon, who was still sitting on the couch in his study. “Would you like to take a crack at it?”
“Sure, throw me under the bus,” Namjoon grumbled, but got up and came to sit in the chair next to Hoseok’s anyway, so the three of them were seated around Jin’s desk.
“So, Taehyung found Y/n, and, uh…”
“Spit it out, already,” Hoseok snapped, accompanied by an eye roll.
“It turns out that she’s his mate…?” Namjoon said, so uncertainly that it sounded like a question. He eyed Hoseok warily, hoping he wouldn’t blow up at the unexpected (and likely unwelcome) news. He hadn’t even finished telling the story.
Hoseok turned to regard Namjoon more directly. “How can she be his mate? He’s been eating fine, hasn’t he?”
“Uh, we aren’t that sure about that,” Namjoon admitted. “But he isn’t the only one.”
“What.”
“As it turns out…” Namjoon paused and looked over at Jin for help. Jin nodded encouragingly for moral support. “Uh, all of us… are her mate.” He cringed away from Hoseok as he said it, bracing himself for the inevitable explosion.
“How the fuck is that possible?!”
“Hobi, please.” Jin held his hands out placatingly, trying to calm his brother down. “We don’t know what’s going on either, but we’re trying to figure it out, okay? Joon and I are spending all our free time in the library, trying to find out more.”
Hoseok put his head in his hands and groaned. “Why can’t things ever just be normal around here?” he mumbled.
Namjoon, sighing, patted Hoseok’s shoulder, trying to offer whatever comfort he could. “I’m sorry, bro,” he said, the words falling flat because he knew even as he was saying them that it wasn’t enough. “We’ll figure this out together, all right?”
“This is fucked up,” Hoseok said shakily, and Namjoon wasn’t sure if he’d even heard him. “All of this is so messed up, I can’t believe it. How can the seven of us be mated to the same girl? We’re going to drain her dry.”
“Hobi, let’s not get ahead of ourselves…” Jin looked slightly alarmed, reaching over to pat the top of Hoseok’s head.
“I never wanted any of this, losing Minhee was bad enough. I can’t deal with any more mate drama,” Hoseok complained, ignoring his hyung.
“Hobi, come on!” Jin lost his patience finally and snapped, raising his voice. “None of us know what’s up, and we’re all trying to get through this together, so will you please get it together and stop playing the victim?”
From the way Hoseok looked up at narrowed his eyes, his brothers knew they were in for it. “Together?!” Hoseok asked derisively. “Right… is that why you were hiding Y/n from me?”
“We weren’t hiding her,” Jin said, offended now. “We told you about her; you just didn’t want to meet her because you’d rather stay holed up in your room by yourself all the time!”
“Jesus Christ!” Hoseok slammed his fist down on Jin’s desk. “Maybe, just maybe, if you had started with ‘Hobi, by the way the hunter you’ve invited into our home smells like Minhee and is apparently our shared mate’, I might have paid more attention to her!” With that, Hoseok stormed out of the study, done with interacting with his brothers.
In the wake of his outburst, Jin and Namjoon sat quietly, the silence ringing loudly in their ears.
Jin was the first to break the silence with a loud, gusty sigh. “It’s so hard to talk to him nowadays,” he complained to Namjoon. He still remembered the jovial, smiling Hoseok of years past, back before everything had changed. As much as he understood the anguish his brother was going through and wanted to be there for him, it was just so difficult when Hoseok was belligerent like this.
Namjoon nodded in agreement, resting his chin in his hand. “If nothing else, hopefully Y/n will be able to help him.”
Jin hummed. “Do you think we should tell the others?”
“They wouldn’t understand, you know that,” Namjoon responded. Reluctantly, Jin agreed – the maknaes had never been quite as patient with Hoseok as the older brothers. They just didn’t understand why he was so angry all the time, and Hoseok didn’t like discussing what he’d gone through. It was difficult keeping secrets from their brothers, but it was necessary in this case to protect Hoseok.
3. and yunseong? thank you in advance 💕
thank you for requesting this! i really hope you like it!!
3. how much did you hear?
[5:24 p.m.] you told yunseong you were going to the supermarket to buy food for the evening; he invited a few of the boys over to have dinner with you two. it was also the first time you were meeting most of them, besides junho and minseo, of course. you and yunseong have been together even before his trainee days, and when he began with woollim, you would sometimes come to visit him during practice (that’s where you met minseo and junho and have been friends with them since then). when you found out he and some of his fellow trainees were going to produce, you were over the moon. of course, you were tuned in every broadcast and tried to keep up with him as much as you could. when you learned that he didn’t make it to the final lineup, you were extremely upset. you cried for days, to the point where yunseong made it a point to personally visit you the first thing once they stopped broadcasts. now that the broadcasts were over, yunseong has returned to the normal life; or, well, almost normal. naturally, the show’s popularity brought more fans and cameras to yunseong, but he was still the introverted dork you fell in love with, so he tried to stay away from large crowded areas as much as he could. today was no exception, which is why he refused to go to the supermarket with you.
you only needed a few things from the supermarket, so you were back home fast. as you fumble for your house key, grocery bags in one hand, you hear some voices on the other side of the door. you unlocked the door and went inside. leaving the groceries in the kitchen, you hear yunseong’s voice followed by (you think) junho and a few new voices you’ve never heard before. no one seems to know that you’ve come in, and they are all gathered in the lounge area. “yeah, guys, y/n’s great. I can’t wait for you all to meet her. she’s more than I could ever ask for.” you couldn’t help but feel your face heat up at the declaration from yunseong. because he’s so reserved, you can’t help but be shocked when a confession that bold has come from yunseong. “yeah, y/n noona is so nice, and funny, too! you will love her sense of humor, donghyun!” minseo’s voice chimes in, and you chuckle slightly at the giggle you assume has left donghyun’s mouth. “she can cook a mean sundubu-jjigae, wah my mouth is watering thinking about it.” junho attests to. this time you decide to enter the room, “it’s too bad that today’s menu is bibimbap and samgyetang, then.” the heads in the room turn towards you, and a blushing yunseong blinks a few times before asking, “how much did you hear?” laughing, you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear before going behind yunseong and resting your hands on his shoulders, “all the good things, babe. let me introduce myself formally to everyone here, I’m y/n, yunseong’s girlfriend. it’s nice to meet you all!”
the group responds in sync, and then they each introduce themselves (sans minseo and junho) to you. you now know jinwoo, minhee, hyungjun, dongpyo, and donghyun. after chatting with the group for some time, you make your way back to the kitchen to make some last-minute adjustments before serving the food. after dinner, yunseong comes to you and wraps his arms around your waist. by instinct, you lean into his touch, resting your head in the junction between his neck and shoulder. “I heard what you said about me earlier.” now it was his turn to blush. you moved your head to look him in the eye, “that was very sweet of you to say, and you are definitely more than I could ever ask for. I love you,” yunseong grins at your confession and his lips reach up and touch the crown of your head as he says, “I love you too” against your forehead. “hey lovebirds, come join us over here, we’re about to play UNO!” dongpyo hollers from the living room and with intertwined hands and big smiles on your faces, yunseong and you walk out and join the group.
