You know what’s kinda odd?
Karamatsu doesn’t get a job
Hear me out, remember how the first two season finales have the boys getting different jobs and such? And in season 1 Karamatsu has abandoned his perfect fashion to peruse a line of work, one that he doesn’t get despite apologizing to the job hunting place and putting work into his résumé. We never see him actually get a job, he’s just job hunting.
Then season two roles around and it’s a bit different, what I like is that each brother gets a job that either correlates to who they are (Ex-Jyushimatsu working with kids) or things they need to work on (Ex-Ichimatsu getting a service job where he has to be around people) but the only people without a job are Choromatsu and Karamatsu.
Choromatsu makes sense, it’s possible getting a job first season is still having its affects, or maybe he just can’t find a job to accept him and his credentials. Choromatsu is always pushing the others to find jobs, but takes the time to stay home and actually develop survival skills like cooking and cleaning (the basics) and I think that fits with his development. But what about Karamatsu?
We know he’s actively searching for a job in ‘Sakura’, he finds a book about credentials that he takes an Interest in, he runs to the phone like he wants to get to it first so maybe it’s a job calling back.
But we never see him get an actual Job, instead he hangs around with similar fashion friends. Again this speaks to his development, Karamatsu making a continuous effort despite failure and working socially to be more adjusted in society (or just finding like minded people to talk with) but I think it’s interesting that we don’t see him get a job in either seasons despite the fact that each one of his brothers have had at least one.
Originally I thought this decision was on purpose. Karamatsu is different from the average person in society, and that much is obvious, but Karamatsu is more outwardly creative then his brothers. Karamatsu writes music, plays guitar, draws pretty decently, his sculpting abilities are up there, he can act okay sometimes, and these are all creative hobbies or skills. We never really see him express an interest to take these hobbies further, or to make a career out of it and if he does it’s played for a joke.
It could be that Karamatsu doesn’t think his skills are good enough to go pro, or that he doesn’t believe that they will go anywhere. Or maybe he believes that if he doesnt get a traditional white collar job that he isn’t being a ‘real adult’
When we see him looking for jobs it’s always traditional suit and tie, or service work, nothing that really allows him to stretch his creative bones.
Maybe the reason Karamatsu can’t get a ‘normal adult job’ is because he has no real desire to, his brain maybe isn’t wired in a way to do organization or data entry or whatever adults do for work. Maybe the only place of work Karamatsu could truly thrive in is one of open mindedness for his ideas and passions to really be fleshed out.

one of my Forever Unfinished drawings, Esme Cullen in that strawberry dress that was really popular a couple years back
I liked the concept of this but I couldn’t make the final picture work so in the end I had to scrap it; still I thought what I had was cute enough that I wanted to post it somewhere, even though it’s pretty rough around the edges ✌️😘🍓

Can you describe the scenario you want fanart for? 👀
Well its super specific and for like.. a quick scenario I was thinking about... where you're tucked into ht!sans' arm, and this is in the scenario where theres "bad sanses working for nightmare". Theres a light coming in from a doorway where nightmare's standing, and the light and shadow from the door falls on ht....

for a different narrative, what if the reason Tobirama was a “genius” and good at so many things was that Izuna was the actual genius and Tobirama constantly had to scramble to keep up

Drabble #1
The city burned.
The hero did nothing.
Even the villain was perplexed. Their mouth closed, and then shut. It felt like the words were stuck in their throat, refusing to come out.
The villain thought.. thought the hero would do something. They always did.
“I give up”
The villain inhaled sharply.
Those words felt wrong coming from the hero.
The once bright and bubbly hero, who would stop at nothing to help those in need, who was stubborn and never gave up without a fight, was now looking over the city with a sullen face.
The hero turned to look at the villian with a small smile. Their eyes, once so bright and shining with life, seemed dull and empty.
The villain felt their own eyes water.
“This is what you wanted wasn’t it? You win Villain.”
“You win”

do u have advice for anyone who wants to start writing
uhhh im pretty jaded about creative stuff so ill try to give some no bs advice
1. make sure you're writing for the right reasons. it's normal to want validation and to share your writing - that's why we share what we do. but be realistic about your expectations when coming into it and understand that you should ultimately be your own audience. writing solely for attention will burn you out and make you more jaded then you already are lmao, so write most of all because you like it. never do anything that doesn't bring you happiness.
especially considering how terrible the interaction is currently lol
2. read a lot, preferably for things that have nothing to do with your fandom. not only bc the risk of plagiarism, but also because the key to improving as a writer is improving your technique and you need to understand that technique beyond the scope of your fandom works so your writing has novelty and freshness to it. explore different medias of story-telling and make it applicable to your writing. i watch a lot of video essays and that has a big influence on me, so find what inspires you. but also, read literature, read different genres etc.
3. writing is just a hobby for many, but it's also a skill and it requires time, effort, and patience. good writers make it look easy, but just starting out it isn't. the only way to improve is by writing a lot and reading your own work with a critical eye (which is also something you have to develop over time.) note that that doesn't mean to be negative about your work - but know how to improve on your own and being self-sufficient is also what it means to be a good writer.
i wrote for many years before i ever wrote for this fandom since i was like?? 11 or 12 i've been doing it most of my life but i only started to take it seriously when i was around 15.
4. as an extension - writing is a discipline. and you have to really love it to keep doing it or to do it consistently. i say this a lot but writing is basically the only thing i do aside from cooking and playing games but it's essentially my only creative outlet which is why im able to spend so much time on it. i go to work and then immediately write when im home etc.,
and im not saying you have to be like me (im insane) but i am saying that the only way to improve in your writing is doing it a lot. it's a skill, a muscle and you have to work it out for it to get stronger.
5. i really don't want to sound discouraging but i really do say this to everyone that writing is hard and that there are tons of growing pains when you start to do it. so manage your expectations and also understand that you'll slowly have to navigate your relationship with it. it's really fulfilling but there are tons of situations that you'll have to learn to deal with, especially if you decide to post which is a whole other can of worms
tldr ;; read a lot and take what you notice in your reading and apply it more generally to your writing. write frequently and manage your expectations. and good luck!! i am cheering for you

Nothing like reading a badly written published book to make you feel better about your writing skills.
I may not be a literary genius, but at least I write better than that.

Sometimes people are reluctant to learn because they are already far behind. This is a very human insecurity that, in a more benign form, might manifest as an adult being self-conscious about learning to draw, play an instrument, etc, bc other people are at more advanced levels.
A more insidious form is boomers and conservative who refuse to learn new skills & social behaviors (or to unlearn negative ones they've been taught). While this is also very human, it is still a shitty shitty thing they get away with bc they have the privilege of being incredibly coddled.
To the first type of reluctant learner I'd like to say, please don't let that insecurity stifle you! No matter where you begin, or where you stop, the process of learning is a miraculous one. You are 100% guaranteed to grow as a person just by engaging; technical progress is just one detail.
To the second type of reluctant learner: get the fuck over it. You are actively making the world a worse place.
#also the mindset that is skill is only valuable if it can be used professionally is incredibly damaging and degrading#and a direct result of modern capitalism#sewing drawing music woodwork and a thousand other creative skills have been of immeasurable personal value all throughout human history#bc so many household didnt have convenient access to these things#no such thing as vinyl records so you either hired musicians or more likely got together with friends and family to make your own music#being able to embroider was a common valuable skill before decorative clothing became affordable w/ the advent of textile technology#modern technology means we can rely less on our own skills to improve the quality of our lives#which is good! but it also means that we are still sorting out our new cultural relationship with these arts#being able to learn things not bc we need to or bc they have practical applications is. GOOD#being able to pursue personal interests regardless of how useful it will be is a privilege but not we should feel guilty about!!!#please give yourself permission to try things you are bad at and will never use#nothing that gives you the opportunity to grow and learn is ever truly useless#experimentation has innate value and so do you!#and on to the 2nd topic:#unlearning prejudice and educating yourself when your upbringing failed to do so is difficult#it requires labor. it requires accepting some hard truths and accepting that you have been very very wrong about some things#i understand that. i sympathize.#that doesn't erase the fact that once you're an adult it's your fucking job to unlearn the prejudice and toxic views society taught you#and that is a lifelong process. it ends when you end#so fucking get started already#unlearning prejudice is also a beautiful journey and you'll be a better happier person from it yada yada#but mostly it's just your fucking responsibility as someone with the privilege to ignore inequalities that don't directly affect you#i say that as someone who is also still learning#YES I SAID FOX NEWS VIEWERS ARE INCREDIBLY CODDLED#THEY ARE SPECIAL SNOWFLAKES WHO YELL LIKE TODDLERS AT THE TINIEST SUGGESTION OF CRITICISM#STEREOTYPES ABOUT LIBERALS ARE BASED ON CONSERVATIVES BEING AWARE AND IN DENIAL ABOUT THEIR OWN VAST SHORTCOMINGS#if you look closely at a group spouting stereotypes you will often learn a terrible amount about that group#yes i said BOOMERS ARE CODDLED. CODDLED LIKE THE MOST DELICATE OF EGGS.#no one more emotionally sensitive than your republican uncle talking politics at thanksgiving dinner#not a shitpost

i have a hot take but can we normalize complex female characters who don’t align with any predisposed, hypocritical, hilariously twisted & fabricated notions of what they should be ; based mainly on the weird belief that “badass” women in fiction should always be the norm
