2. a character whose POV you’re currently exploring one of the side characters in the collab I'm currently working on, who has grown from a plot device to a fully-fledged character, has been talking at me very loudly all afternoon and evening wanting to give me his take on events. We'd been planning a fic from his point of view, but I don't know if this will be it, as I think my friend has a slightly different take on things, but he won't shut up so I'm writing down what he says anyway XD

3. how you feel about your current WIP I am hugely enjoying this collab, it is an extremely good writing exercise to work with someone whose style and process are so different from mine, and we keep riffing off each other and coming up with new ideas :D :D :D

8. if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for… I really want to write one for Break You But You'll Mend, picking up on all the plot threads I introduced in that one but didn't manage to resolve. One of these days XD

20. in what year did you publish your first fic? 2002! It was an X-Men comics fic which is on my AO3 although I currently have Last Cat Standing on my lap so I can't quite link to it. :D

22. do you ever worry about public reaction to what you’re writing? how do you get past that? Not hugely. I wasn't sure about how various aspects of the RPF might go over, not being familiar with the fandom, but I have about four readers who like it and that's actually great :D Other than that I don't really worry any more.

Dan and Phil dressed in Kuromi and My Melody themed outfits

After making the Halloween Baking dolls I wanted to make more dnp dolls but had no concrete outfit ideas until I saw @danrifics 's meet and greet pics of them with Kuromi and My Melody headbands. The idea of making them in themed outfits would not leave my head so I caved and here we are.

I wanted the dolls to be a good balance of reflective and opposing of each other so they'd still look like a matching pair while being unique to their own styles, allowing for Phil's outfit to be relatively simple whilst Dan's has a lot of little embellishments. This also let Phil have a bolder light pink whilst Dan's is a very pale almost white (though both of the lighter pinks are a bit pale in the pics compared to the actual dolls, sorry about that).

Often when My Melody has head decoration she gets lop ears and I thought that'd be cute for Phil, especially because I wanted to give him a crown (give! Phil! a grape!). This is partially due to his 2024 Birthday Stream's outfit being inspiration for the doll's outfit (and a happy belated birthday to him!) in place of the cape My Melody normally has. The lop ears also reads very puppy-ish in contrast to Dan/Kuromi's kitty-ish appearance (even though both of them are rabbits).

I was originally going to give him a black heart decal where My Melody usually has a flower but it distracted from the crown so I put it on his shirt because he does like graphic tees and it gives him an additional black accessory (which was helpful because the black belt I was going to give him looked awful).

Dan has a similar heart decal in pink in place of the skull decal Kuromi normally has- I did try making the hood have the point at the top of the face but it made his curls look weird. I considered adding a pink bow as well but it looked excessive.

I had planned to give Dan fingerless gloves but they looked weird with the sleeves so instead I gave him a black bracelet opposite his earring and eventually gave Phil one on his opposing hand to match. Coincidentally those are their dominant hands.

Kuromi already has a devil tail so instead of My Melody's bunny tail I gave Phil (precious baby) angel wings. Their top half outfits are both technically removable but Dan's head is too big to actually do so. Their underwear is the other's primary colour, just for fun (though that's only visible in the wip pics)

I'm really pleased with how the hair turned out- I got Dan's fringe to listen to me this time because I used a less stiff yarn so it swoops better and Phil's got his roots visible slightly from the back. And also the only reason why Phil's doll was completed at all was thanks to @yharnamsnewslug 's suggestion I use a darker pink for the shorts instead of the same light pink as the overshirt because I definitely would've run out of yarn. I really lucked out finding the dark pink in my scrap yarn, it was just barely enough for the shorts.

I technically made these to celebrate Phil's birthday and the end of the Terrible Influence Tour but managed to finish them and take the pics just as the sun set on Feb 13 which also feels very appropriate considering all of the pink and hearts, so Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day - Here's a Snippet from a WIP instead of a box of chocolates ❤️

I'm spending my day today with my kitty, and with my Coolerverse Buckies....

It's been a while sense I've shared anything from part three, but I figured it was time seeing as I spent today heavily editing what I'd already had written and then actually writing over 2k new words. I'm optimistic I'll have it finished and published before the end of February. 💕

So here's a snippet from relatively early in Part 3 as my Valentine to you, 'Coolerverse' readers! (Putting some below a cut because their is an allusion (not graphic, it's still me) to possible sa)

The sun has almost set and he’s just noticing smoke on the horizon in the distance when Gale stumbles next to him.

He’s been staying close enough that their arms brush while they walk. They started out close to the front of the column, but they’ve drifted back since they left the town. Bucky has tried to convince himself that it was both of their dwindling energy that caused them to slow, but he knows that he’s been matching Gale’s pace since they started.

Now, Gale stumbles and Bucky grabs his sleeve just as one of his knees hit to ground. His heart climbs up into throat when the other man doesn’t immediately raise himself back up.

The men skirt around them, avoiding looking at Gale and Bucky can’t help but wish he hadn’t lost sight of their boys in the sea of bodies when they’d started falling back.

“Gale?” Bucky bends at the waist, gets a hand under Gale’s armpit. “Come on, up you get.”

He tugs and releases a breath when Gale’s body follows his instructions, getting himself to standing with a grunt of effort and a pained look stealing across his features.

“Sorry,” Gale says low, breathe crystalizing in the space between them. “Tripped.”

Bucky grimaces, skeptical of the explanation but doesn’t press.

“Move!” The loud voice startles them both and Bucky grunts when a rough hand shoves at his back, pushing him forward. The motion sends him stumbling away from Gale. He catches himself and turns, panicked, not willing to let him get lost in the gaggle of a thousand men.

But Gale’s still right there. Only the guard that had pushed Bucky has a hand fisted in the front of Gale’s coat and he’s in his face and Bucky sees red. It takes two steps to get back to them and one more to shove himself between the two men. He doesn’t look at the guard, just tugs Gale with him and starts moving forward.

“Better stay off your knees, Major,” the heavily accented voice, ugly words spit in broken English raise the hairs on the back of Bucky’s neck and his muscles tighten with the urge to hurt someone.

“Don’t.”

Gale’s quiet voice and his trembling hand grasping his sleeve brings him back to reality and he knows he can’t do a damn thing. Not with the krauts as trigger happy as they are. But he turns the words over and over in his mind and thinks his teeth might crack with how tight he’s clenching his jaw.

“That was the same guard from the line-up,” he grits out. “The one from the cooler?”

Silence greets him and he turns his head to look at Gale, who is stubbornly refusing to meet his eyes.

“Buck,” he pushes. “Give me something here.”

“Just leave it, Bucky,” Gale finally answers, shaking his head.

“I can’t,” Bucky admits. He feels like he’s going to be sick all of a sudden as the implication of the words turn his stomach into a knotted mess. Now isn’t the time for this. But he can’t even breathe properly with these thoughts in his head. “Did he-”

“No.” Gale finally turns his face enough to glare at him. “Whatever you’re thinking. No.”

Bucky swallows, feels his eyes sting from more than the wind as his mind rolls over images that he wants to vanquish from existence. Too terrible to imagine. Gale must see something in his eyes because his glare falls away and his features soften.

“John, I swear,” he says. “If what you’re thinking happened had happened, I wouldn’t be here. ‘Cause I’d have killed him. And then they would’ve killed me.”

The words don’t make him feel better. They just conjure another horrible, unfathomable image that he tries to physically shake out of his mind. He believes him. But something happened. Something with this guard. Something that Gale doesn’t want to talk about.

“What can I do?” He finds himself asking, feeling useless as he watches Gale concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other. Tired blue eyes find his and Bucky watches him shrug.

“No matter what he says,” Gale says, looking over his shoulder. Bucky follows his gaze and sees the guard keeping pace with them on the edge of the column. Watching Gale. “Don’t do anything to get yourself killed. He likes to talk.”

Bucky flexes his fingers and glares ahead, jaw working. Not understanding but wanting to.

“Promise me, John.”

“Sure, Buck.”

“John.” Gale sounds tired, frustrated. Bucky feels the same way.  “I learned to drown him out in there. You gotta do the same.”

He thinks of Gale hiding himself against Bucky’s chest, making himself small every night when the krauts were talking outside their window before they slammed the shutters closed. Remembers the flinching, the tightly coiled muscles, the trembling he’d feel when the accented voices grew in volume, shouts drifting through the walls of their hut.

Their eyes meet and they can read each other plan as day.

Even if he never touched him, that man hurt Gale. Scares him still.

And he can tell Gale see’s the truth in Bucky’s eyes, shining back at him. He won’t let him hurt him again. No matter what.

Why Stranger Things?

Honestly I had never seen it before season 4, but when it dropped I started getting a bunch of Eddie edits on my TikTok and was like “WOAH, I gotta know more about that guy right now.” I binged the whole season over a couple days, fell in love with his character, remade a Tumblr account for the first time since my early teens, and started drawing him pretty much immediately.

What's your favorite ship (platonic or romantic) to create for?

I love how much people love Steddie. I love a two himbos in love dynamic and I love their interactions in the show, even if they were brief they obviously stuck with people.

What's your typical drawing process like?

Oh jeez. Long. Once I have an idea I’m pretty eager to start on it asap, I collect a lot of references for what I’m thinking googling model poses, random band member candids, or taking weird self timer pics of myself posing in my kitchen and then cut and paste and collage them into something close enough to what I want and then kind of draw a “skeleton” over all of that just to save a couple hours, but that process still usually takes me about 2-3 hours to get it perfect. The piece I’m working on right now has a lot of little pieces in it and that part of the process took ten hours alone. Then I have a line drawing that I block base colors into, lock all of those, and then kind of fully render out each part at a time- skin, hair, shirt, pants, accessories, whatever else. I spend a good 75% of that process going “AHHHHH I DON’T KNOW IF THIS IS WORKING,” and then somehow it all comes together in the end. Sometimes depending on the piece, I’ve liked finding random stock images to kind of overlay in the background, it makes him feel so much more real and lifelike to me. Lately, the fully rendered stuff I’ve been posting takes anywhere from 12-20 hours of drawing. I tattoo full time 11-7 or later 5 days a week on top of drawing for appointments outside of work and usually only have time to draw for a couple hours at a time, or a little on the weekends so I try to be as efficient as possible.

Do you have a favorite tool for drawing?

I used to do a lot of painting for work and pastel pencil drawings for fun but I switched over to an iPad Pro a few years ago and it’s so much easier to be able to just draw on the couch and not drag out a bunch of materials and make a mess. I use Procreate for work and for fandom art.

Do you have any tips for drawing clothes?

Using references or making your own references to take pictures of! They’re a relief to get to because they don’t need to be perfect, unlike a face that is very anxiety inducing so don’t overthink it.

What has been your favorite project so far?

I really, really love the one I’m working on right now, I don’t know if I’ll post it (and if you’re reading this after Valentine’s Day you may have already seen it) because it’s a gift but it’s been the most fun and silly and therapeutic. But I love any “Eddie with an occupation” or AU moment, doing the baseball AU drawings for @brock-eddie was so much fun and I love how they turned out.

What has been your hardest project so far?

The Christmas Steddie one was kind of a pain in the ass because it took so long and had so many more little parts than just drawing one character, but I was happy with how it turned out. There’s a couple WIPs in my iPad that I would love to finish but they just weren’t turning out how I wanted them, I want to revisit them but I might have to scrap them and start over. Everyone is so nice I’m sure I could post them now and people would be stoked but things have to be perfect or I lay in bed at night and regret posting them for literally weeks.

Have you ever had a creative block?

Not really for coming up with ideas, but finding the energy to sit down and draw after working all day is hard sometimes. I have a weird thing where I don't want to draw for a little bit, I have to be in the headspace to work for at least 2-3 hours at a time or I just won't do it.

Is there a big source of inspiration for you? Books? Art? Games?

UGH, BEIN IN LOVE. Being a weird alt girl in Indiana. Eddie is so my type and for the first time I had a huge crush on a character that I felt like I could be his type too. I’m a tattooer going to metal shows in my free time in 🤠Waynedale, Indiana🤠, it is so easy to picture him living in my town and going the same places I do and through art I can make him real. There are so many talented writers on here who have brought him to life and I love and am inspired to draw by the fics that really flesh out the fact that he’s so earnest and has all these deeper feelings but he’s still a ding dong twentyish year old boy doing ding dong twentyish year old boy things. @jo-harrington's store manager verse, @wheels-of-despair's Evil Woman fics, and @courtingchaos's writings all fill me with DEEP, ACHING YEARNING for a boy like him, and no matter how sucky and unimpressive dudes in real life are, they make him so nice and funny, and I can dress him up however I want and draw him from the viewer’s perspective and there is something so therapeutic and comforting about that. I’ve been through a lot of dumb and mildly traumatizing stuff the last couple of years and reading fanfic again and drawing fanart has brought me so much peace and happiness in all of it.

What's your favorite way to get comments or interactions on your art?

I’m always really excited to finish a piece and get to post it here ASAP just to see everyone’s reactions. I’m so proud of the work that gets put into them but I’m never going to post them on a more public forum like my Instagram, I do them for myself and for the little group of people here I know it’ll bring joy to and it’s really fun to share that joy with everyone. When I’m sad, I go through the tags in the reblogs because people are so funny and sweet about them.

Is there an upcoming project you're particularly excited about?

Nothing specific right now, I’m about to get really busy with real work so I may have to slow down a little. I get a lot of ideas around the holidays/seasons changing because I love the more themed drawings, so after Valentine’s Day hopefully I’ll have some cute spring ideas to work on! I always like getting requests to see what people are wanting to see. I can’t always get to them because of work but sometimes they spark ideas for bigger projects.

Is there anything we forgot to ask?

I don’t think so! Love you all so much, for real. Time to write and draw more Eddie stomping out fascist weirdos. The world really sucks right now but everyone contributing to this fandom is creating a positive space and helping us get away from it all, I am so grateful for all of the talented people here for making life more bearable right now.

im gonna start posting fanfic recs btw whenever i find good ones. both here and my (awfully barren) 18+ account. because there are so many good fics out there with so few hits and fewer kudos and sometimes no comments period and it SUCKS because i REALLY LIKE THEM A LOT.. and i hope that by linking them here and yelling at everyone to COMMENT DAMMIT they might actually do it

seriously though any comment means a lot. most people who read a fic don’t even give a kudos. even if the fic wasn’t top tier, if you didn’t dislike it, hand over some kudos!! and if you liked it, comment!!!! even if the comment is one singular heart emoji it will be appreciated. if the comment just says “great fic!” the author will be happy. your comment doesn’t have to be this long winded gushing or analysis.

so many authors quit writing or lose motivation because the comments are few and far in between or just sometimes nonexistent. trust me when i say authors don’t care about how long or cool or smart sounding your comment is i promise!!!

i hope that mmmaybe recommending fics and telling people to comment might help fics i really like get more support maybe. and i, points at you reading this, hope that you will listen!!!at least a little….at least sum kudos….

15. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chapter fics?

I tend to prefer writing one-shots! I love to read multi-chapter fics, but I always get so worried that I'll lose motivation and just, never come back to it :') My first fic on AO3 is loosely a multi-chapter, in the sense that I've left it open to return to someday, but haven't had any interest to pick it back up in years lol. There's something very punchy about one-shots as well - I have a pretty solid split between short and long one-shots, but it's so satisfying when I Finally have a long one finished!

I also like making connected one-shots, or sequential one-shots, but letting them stand on their own so?

32. What’s a fic you’d love to write, but probably never will?

I think I had a Vargas fic idea at one point that I so badly wanted to read but didn't want to write, and made some concept sketches and an outline for and everything lol - something with the Jake/Edgar/Scriabin dynamic ♥ I do know that someone made a missing scene-fic about Scriabin and Jake's first interaction that I've been quietly making eyes at - next time I'm into Vargas for sure 👀

As for love to write, hm... Probably this overly-convoluted Osmosis Jones NTR fic that I've had in my back pocket for way too long honestly lol - ever since I learned about netorare they were my first and only choice but it's so all-hurt-no-comfort and kinda dark and sad and while it sounds really fun, the self-consciousness monster in the back of my head is like "Really? The White Blood Cell Movie? For that?" lol
