Introducing: POLL STEALING
Woah! The Les Mis Shipping Showdown, introducing a whole new gameplay mechanic when the tournament's already started? Say it ain't so!
Well. It's so.
Inspired by @hbowartournament (idk if they originated this idea, but it's certainly where I saw it), starting with the Round of 16 you will have the opportunity to earn back percentage points on any given poll by creating fanworks - fic, art, gifsets, fanvids, etc - for your ship of choice and letting us know about it. A full breakdown of how this works is under the Read More at the bottom of this post, and we'll also make a separate explainer post to link in each new poll.
To give you all a head start on your creations, we will be slightly delaying the Round of 16 poll drop to the evening (GMT/UTC) of Monday 10th March. Be there or be square!
This does, of course, also mean that we will be completely ignoring the entirely democratic results of our earlier poll and keeping each poll's running time at a week to give you the most time possible to get your fanworks finished and submitted.
Q: Why? Simple! I realised while searching for visual aids for the ships in the Round of 32 that this bracket contains a lot of surprisingly niche pairs for whom there's not actually a whole lot of content. 47% of the pairings that made the bracket have fewer than 150 works on AO3! So actually, this tournament could be a great opportunity to highlight & spur on a new outpouring of love for some of those rarer pairings, some of which haven't really been in their heyday since like, 2014. I kind of was operating along these lines already when begging you guys for fanart submissions every other day, but then I figured adding the competition element makes it more fun and gives you guys more of an incentive to participate!
Q: But my ship's just been eliminated from the round of 32 :( Now I don't get to play :( Fear not. Because I have a solution.
Q: Can I submit a fanwork I've already created? Ideally, new fanwork is the dream here, but we get everyone has time constraints and we're announcing this all pretty last minute. If you want to subtly rework the WIP you've had lurking in your Google Docs for the past 6 years, or tweak an artwork you already posted on here in 2013, we'll turn a blind eye. However, in the interest of both fun and fairness, we ask that you prioritise new, or at least newly updated, work (new chapters of existing multichapter fics count!) and do not just spam the tag with your entire back catalogue of 172,000 words of [insert ship here] fanfic. You can still post your back catalogue as propaganda, but it won't count towards the steal.
(PS. We're aware that some sections of this fandom have just had big creative output fests e.g. Valvert Week, and may therefore be all out of fresh ideas for this tournament. In the interest of not overworking you guys, if you'd like to repurpose any work - for any ship - published since February 1st, 2025 as a Steal Work, you are absolutely welcome to do so. Just be sure to send us a link and let us know that this is your intention.)
Q: Is there anything I can't submit?
Once again, we politely request no AI generated art or fiction.
NSFW is absolutely fine, but please ensure it is suitably tagged so anybody who wants/needs to avoid it is able to do so.
We know that with the presence of certain ships in this bracket (*cough* turnchetta) it's completely impossible to avoid parody/troll/shitpost content, and banning it would be antithetical to the point of some of these noble ships. Plus, some of the greatest creative works in Les Mis fandom history (*cough* the Enjonine rap) have been works in this vein. So you're welcome to goof around, but please be aware that at the mods' discretion we may discount anything we deem to be especially low effort or in particularly poor taste.
Q: You said the new round of polls doesn't start until March 10th - can I start posting Steal Works before then? Be our guest! If you've got things ready to go then you can post them as soon as they're done. Just make sure they're tagged appropriately (see under the cut) so that we know they're meant for this purpose.
Q: So how does all this work? I'm glad you asked! Please see below the cut:
(once again, all scoring & rules lifted absolutely wholesale from the hbowartournament. they changed the game with this and i'm not even kidding)
Writers:
Post a fic (or new chapter) of at least 100 words to AO3. The pairing of your choice must be the primary relationship tag (and remember this poll is for romantic relationships only)
Link your fic here, tag it #lmss steal, and send us a link to the post via asks/submissions. If your piece is part of a larger, previously established fic, please include in your message the word count of the new chapter.
Earn 0.1% for every 100 words, rounded to the nearest hundred
Artists:
Post your fanart to tumblr, tag it #lmss steal, and send us a link via asks/submissions.
Earn 0.1% for a sketch, 0.3% for linework, and 0.5% for a full colour piece.
Fanvid Editors:
Post your video to tumblr, tag it #lmss steal, and send us a link via asks/submissions.
Earn 0.3% per 10 seconds for an AMV/fanvid using existing footage, and 0.5% per 10 seconds for an animatic.
Photo/Gifset Editors:
Post your photoset/gifset to tumblr, tag it #lmss steal, and send us a link via asks/submissions.
Earn 0.1% per edited photo and 0.5% per gif/collage.
Playlist Curators:
Post your fanmix - consisting of at least 8 tracks (iykyk) - to Spotify (or create a YouTube playlist if you do not have a Spotify account).
Link your playlist here, tag it #lmss steal, and send us a link via asks/submissions.
Earn 0.1% per 8 songs on the playlist, rounded to the nearest 8
Earn 0.1% per 200 words of liner notes expanding on the selected songs
If you're struck by creative urges not listed above, just drop us an ask and we can figure out what category it falls into and/or approximate percentage conversion rates if it's something totally new.
No matter what you're posting though, the same applies - make sure to tag it #lmss steal so that we know it's part of this tournament, and send us a link to your post so that we don't miss it!

Hey, Seblainers! Hellooooo, everyone else!
10 Days Of Seblaine 2024
26 days to go, so without further ado, here's what you need to know:
The Rules
When?
The event runs from Monday, 26th August until 23:59 (of your own timezone) on Wednesday, 4th September 2024.
Who can take part?
Anyone and everyone who shares our love of Seblaine!
What can we submit?
Anything, as long as it is Seblaine-related! Fics, Graphics, Gifs, Gifsets, Videos, Manips, Playlists, Lyrics - anything you like as long as it fits the themes! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.
Please remember to use #seblaineworld and #10daysofseblaine2024 within the first five tags, and also put @seblaineworld in your posts, since we all know just how flaky Tumblr can be about tags!
Be sensible and considerate. We are all well aware that not everyone shares our love of Seblaine, and even within our own tiny (but always fierce!) Seblainer Fandom, there are those who don't enjoy mature content, so please ensure you tag everything you submit, appropriately.
Can I cross-post/combine themes?
Yes! You can combine any of the themes that you want. And if your contribution does combine multiple themes, you can post on whichever day you prefer. Just remember, if your contribution covers one or more themes, then properly tag all days, regardless of which day you actually post on.
Do I need to submit something for every day?
Absolutely not. If you want to contribute something for every day, then of course you can, but it's not a requirement at all. I know everyone has busy lives, so just do what you can when you can.
Can I post a WIP or work if it fits the themes, even if I started it weeks/months/years before the Seblaine Week 2024 announcement?
Absolutely! Your Admin has done this before and feels it's a great way to refresh creativity and blow the cobwebs off that piece you just KNOW you'll finish one day, but never quite seem to have the time. So feel free to post anything you've already started - providing it fits one of the themes!
On that note, do remember that the free day is exactly that. A day on which you can write about/create for, any theme you like! Did your favourite theme just narrowly miss out on being in the top 10? If so, here's your chance to do something about it and make a submission using that theme!
When do we start posting?
As soon as it becomes Monday 26th August in your own timezone, post your work to your Tumblr blog, and as mentioned above, please tag it #seblaineworld and #10daysofseblaine2024 then make sure those two are in your first five tags. Please also put @seblaineworld somewhere in your post.
If you're going to be posting your work to another site like AO3 or ff.net, post a properly tagged link on your Tumblr.
A 10 Days Of Seblaine 2024 collection will be added to AO3.
Can I post early?
Sorry, no. 🙃 Tumblr, however, does let you schedule posts so you can schedule the post for the right day, even if you're not going to be around that day. Of course this gets a little harder to navigate if you’re also posting to another site like AO3/ff.net, so if this is going to be a problem, let me know and I'll figure it out.
Can I post late?
Yes! I know how time can occasionally run away from us all, so as long as everything is tagged properly you can post (for example) your day 3 piece on day 7 and that won't be a problem. Everything posted will be reblogged until Friday, September 27th.
You haven't reblogged my work yet!
No problem! Again, because Tumblr can be (very!) erratic, just send me an Ask or message if I haven't reblogged your work within 24 hours of you posting it, and I will get onto it right away.
So, that's it for now! I'm excited to see all your work, and I hope you'll join me for our second bumper celebration of Seblaine. Just drop me an Ask or message if you have a question that's not addressed here, and I'll see you all on the 26th!

The time has come...
For the Redemption Round!
Well, technically not yet, but I'm making you guys submit them into a form for the sake of my sanity, so I figured I would open that up now.
HOW IT'S GOING TO WORK:
There will be 3 spots for characters that were eliminated anywhere from the first poll to the final one of round 2. You guys will submit them on the form and the ones with either the most submissions or the best reasoning will get to be voted on.
AND (because this post was so hilarious it sparked a brilliant idea) you guys get to choose one person to help them through their first round back. They can be someone else who was eliminated or they can be someone who wasn't nominated in the first place. BUT be careful because if they make it through that first round back they separate and you have to choose between them. here's more info on what qualifies
The final 4th spot will be taken by a character you think should've gotten a lot of nominations but was actually not nominated at all! This post pretty much sums up the reasoning behind it, since now that we have a ton more people following we can actually fill in those gaps. These characters don't get a buddy though, since they're basically skipping half the bracket. If there's only a few different ones with somebody clearly taking most submissions, I'll take them straight in, but if there is a lot, we'll do a preliminary poll or two while the others are going on.
Also gonna have a spot on the form where you can beg for someone NOT to be entered in again, whether you think they're just annoying or because it was a miracle they got out the first time and you don't wanna risk it. All is fair in love and war I guess.
The usual form rules apply, so no submitting the same character a billion times, no real people, all the normal stuff and only the first two questions are required. Also, no characters are guaranteed! The only way for them to (re)enter is to be submitted!
If this seems really complicated it's probably more complicated for me and I think I organized the submission form in a way that makes it simple. Let me know if it's confusing!
As always, ask box is open for questions and concerns! I wanted to do this in a way that seems fun that I haven't really seen before but if you guys don't like it we can change it to a normal redemption round.
Submission form is going to last until Monday (4/10/23) at 8 AM Central Time Zone in order to give enough space for Round 2 to finish and you can submit those guys if you want. With that being said, lets redeem some superheroes!

Friday Update
Ahhhh it's so nice to be here on the other side of the massive deadline crunch. <3
This week I wrote and submitted a halloween romance short story for the final Anthology Workshop submission. I'm pleased with this last story but I'm less confident in it's strength for the editors. I've never written for this editors before and I don't know their taste. We shall see! There's still a TON of work to do for this Workshop in August, like read every single story and take some notes on them. There are about 180 total (minus my own), so that's on the docket to start next week.
Mostly I'm taking next week off. No writing. No brainstorming new things. If ideas come to me they'll get written down as usual, but I'm mostly going to spend my time reading, playing video games, watching other people play video games, and catching up on some TV. I want to finish Shogun.
The next project is a BSQ story (scifi horror) and the next thing publishing is an Uncollected short story--the one I just wrote, actually. That'll go live August 1st. I should have a preorder link next week.
Finally! If you haven't seen the Masterpost about it already, I'm serializing Fated To The Wolf on my blog starting Monday. You'll need to get the password from THE NEWSLETTER for chapters 2+ for Amazon Reasons.

Cocoa Spy Recommendations
Here we go again! Intern shares their unfiltered, duck-petting opinion because even if you want them to, they really can not stay quiet for the life of them. For the full rec, click the read more, as this is a long post. Note: Those are Intern's recommendations, if I mess up, it's me doing that. Please let me know! Last time, we had The Night Post, before that Forgive Me! and patient33, if you haven't seen the posts, find them linked.
Today! Academicasaurus. This is a very short review as the story should not be spoilered in any way, and because Intern had one hell of a week and will today only share their comfort podcast in case anyone else needs the comfort too.
The faculty behind the academic journal Academicasaurus really just want to get the next issue out. If only they'd stop getting bizarre submissions shoved under their doors... and who exactly is recording all this, anyway?
Website, Podbean, you can find them on Spotify too, but only from the second season onwards :)
Give it a listen if…
Again, you like Mystery, if you like(d) Harry Potter, if you remember University fondly as the horror it was or is, if you want to see your teachers as human beings for once, if you just really need a comfort podcast on a sunny Saturday when your whole body hurts.
A note
Almost finished! The last season is running and we’re in the thick of it now! Updates come every second Monday! The podcast is recorded through the POV of phone lines, mainly, which is interesting.
Why you’d like it as a listener of Amelia?
Mysteries, I think The Interviewer and Horatio would be great friends, lots of coffee instead of cocoa. If you like the way Amelia often goes “Well, we don’t have time to unpack ALL OF THAT NOW” . This one is not so much in relation to Amelia, as more a case of… It’s really, really good. I’ve never been to any american university - MIsomething and all - but… if they are all like that… O.O
Why I like it?
Lots of amazing banter, lots of plot twists. You never know what will happen next. Also, the characters <3 This is one of my favorite podcasts in regard to the characters, they just make me so happy.
How long did it take me to get into the story?
Few minutes, I started casually listening and now I go back to listen again xD
Others?
Someone please tell me that Horatio and the Interviewer would get along as well as I think they would?
#cocoa spy recommendations#academicasaurus#the amelia project#podcast recommendations#fiction podcast#Intern will go back and fix this post when they are awake again#thank you so much for your time

Weekly Update!
Well I haven't done one of these in a while because life got away from me, but we're back.
PUBLISHING
Rescued By The Dragon Assassin is finished, uploaded, and preorder is live on all stores! This is a stand-alone M/F dragon shifter romance that is part of a large multi-author series!
Order it Direct: https://www.tamiveldura.com/product/rescued-by-the-dragon-assassin/
Or on your favorite store: https://books2read.com/u/mlMYlA
Check out the whole series: https://www.villainsdoitbetter.com/
Also!
Fated To The Wolf is finished, uploaded, and available for preorder! Fated is an M/M instalove novella. This stand-alone novella is offered for a limited time in the Marked By The Wolf anthology.
https://books2read.com/u/bz8orE
This is only available on Amazon at the moment, but when I get the rights back to the novella I'll have more to say!
THE NEW PROJECT: VAMPIRE BLOOD WARS
This week I've been neck deep in brainstorming and outlining a massive 10-book project. This is a kinky, M/M/M/M/M why-choose/harem story about a human and his collection of vampires. Warnings for lots of explicit sex, blood play, violence. This series is leaning heavily into the sex-or-die and sex-is-power tropes (also sex pollen adjacent), so if that's your thing, you'll want to stick around. Book 1 alone has like 4 sex scenes out of 10 total and I had to cut one for flow that I'll write as a bonus. V spicy.
Like Fated, above, the vampire series is part of a series of anthologies that will be released over the next year and a half. When I get the rights back I'll be publishing them indie, but that's a long way from now. First I gotta write 10 books 😂
The Anthology series is called Blood Wars, so that's the tag I'll use for the series. Each book will get its own title tag too, for people who want to follow.
This week I did a rough Save The Cat 2k outline of the major plot of all 10 books, then a very detailed 8k outline of book 1, Vampire Mated. Each novella will be about 20k in length, the last one will probably be longer out of plot necessity.
Monday I'll start drafting.
The first three anthologies of the Vampires Blood Wars series are already listed for preorder!
Book 1, Atlanta: https://books2read.com/u/b6YOqy
Book 2, LA: https://books2read.com/u/mKPRq9
Book 3, Denver: https://books2read.com/u/me8j1Z
NEW PROJECT X2: ANTHOLOGY WORKSHOP
And finally, I'm moving rapidly into a second major project that wasn't supposed to overlap with vampires when I agreed to it But here we are.
I'm participating in the Anthology Workshop put on by WMG Publishing. https://wmgwriterstore.com/ This is the first one in several years and I'm very excited to be involved again. They collect a bunch of amazing editors and assemble calls for submissions, which participating authors have one week to write for. (6 anthos, 6 short stories, 6 weeks in a row to write and submit) AND IT STARTS ON MONDAY.
And Then! In August, all of us descend on Vegas to listen to the editors debate each story and buy the ones they love most for their anthology, which is then published at .06/word (pro rate) by WMG Publishing.
The last time I did this I only managed to write 3 of the 6 stories, and none were published. But it completely altered my business path for the better and I've since sold many shorts to other magazines and anthos! Some to those editors that didn't take my workshop stories.
It's also a big opportunity for networking with other authors and professional editors which is both 😱 and 😍 thankfully, this time, I know many of the people attending.
So THAT is happening.
Next week I will check out the first anthology, but I already know the theme (ghosts & taverns) so unless an idea hits me strongly with the call for subs, I'll be skipping it to write on Vampire Mated instead. It's just not my genre.
Because, btw, Mated is due July 1st.
It'll be fine.
