okay but is this not just bill talking about himself
Tumblr media
like stan taking his fatherā€™s fez, bill took his own fatherā€™s top hat and made to reinvent himselfā€¦
this whole poem reads as bill trying to make it out that heā€™s soooo powerful that he knows exactly what stanley is thinking, but if he really wanted to get in stanā€™s head, why poetry? why not use direct statements, why use a method of expression directly tied to the feelings of the speaker?
ā€œwhen your actions make it worseā€ he just wanted to show them the stars
ā€œwhen they see you as a curseā€ is seeing believing?
ā€œwhen youā€™ve lost track of your liesā€ LIKE COME ON??? IDENTICAL TO HIS THERAPRISM TRANSCRIPT
Tumblr media
back to the poem, ā€œAnd lucky stanā€”ā€œ
unlike stan, billā€™s never won any of his bets, not fully. billā€™s never got his family back. never won when the odds were all against him. heā€™s insanely jealous of stanleyā€” itā€™s not fair.
ā€œredemption from a life of shameā€ do you think he feels shameful?
Tumblr media
ā€œYou think you left the past behind.ā€
ā€œBut trust meā€
bill is always asking for trust, but here? when even his lies are lies? i think this one has twisted into the truth. he likes to think heā€™s left the past behind, too.
ā€œIā€™M STILL ON YOUR MINDā€
while also revealing bill may still be ā€œaliveā€ in stanā€™s mind, it shows just how much being defeated by stanley affected himā€¦ this conman, a horrible, cheating liar, managed to save his family. and bill cannot get it off his mind.
(thereā€™s so much more i could talk about hereā€” like bill screaming in pain right before this??? good god is that good angst material)

loathe to give robert any kind of credit but he was so unfathomably based when it came to jaime killing aerys, and not only bc it helped him win the throne.
+ bonus bc nedā€˜s honor code dictates him to be contemptuous of the guy who killed the king who cooked his brother and father alive

hear me out. nsfw mentions ahead
<><><><>
re6 leon in which the events of re2 never happen, he doesn't become a police officer until chris recommends it to get over a break up, smth abt finding your purpose or fuck tht
he's got no idea what he's doing in the goddamn room, six months of training later, but theres a shiny new badge on his chest and a can do attitude that disappears as soon as he twists over his shoulder to check out his t.o.
shit, you must be at least, what, a decade younger than him? he has to hold back a scoff when sergeant dismisses the room, and suddenly he's left alone with your silent, wide eyes looking up at him.
you keep him behind you in your quick, clicking steps, allowing little time for the questions he asks, trying to pry that little shell of yours open. but you're unrelenting, in the way that he is, in your serious posture and his amused demeanor.
a demeanor that "has no place on the force", you tell him a week later, just after he's turned the corner and tripped over the felony you handcuffed just seconds ago.
he huffs and puffs on the ground, but he knows that you're the big bad wolf in his story. and he's not about to swap roles to become little red riding hood.
so after crashing at chris' penthouse with a cooler full of cold beer, a recovering heart and heavy thoughts, he realizes that he can do so much better. become what you expect.
and the man that walks in the day after? well, he's not the same old man whose back you were snickering behind when he got the captain's office and the locker room mixed up, courtesy of your fellow cops.
you feel more like a cheetah around its prey than a partner to him, especially with the snarky banter that flows easily, the subtly thrown smiles and winks during an ambush, his awkward yet sweetly charming demeanor.
and guess who can really judge a book by its cover? well, in this case, you suppose by its age.
to be honest, the only thing stopping you from pouncing is the number printed next to his name on the file that's two months late, sending all you've known about him into a loophole.
it appears that sometimes, the force of objects thrust into motion cant be stopped, and the events that ensure one night during a late night study of the rook book ends up with a pair of boots tangled in his sheets.
the thrill of getting caught is delicious, hell, its the reason you became a goddamned cop. but you've been denied that thrill all your life, and when it finally comes to you in the form of this glorious man, you should've realized there would've been some kind of problem.
your crazy big hint was the sun-crinkled eyes, salt and pepper stubble and old man advice, but that's hard to think about when his mouth is buried between your thighs, and even harder is to remember the question he asked beforehand, now somehow expecting an answer as he smothers your hips in wet, sticky kisses. blissfully broken and gazing at the book with glazed eyes.
because how the fuck are you supposed to memorize how to identify a gun when that was the best head you've gotten in years? but when he finally sinks into you with a groan, you realize that there is one gun you will always be able to identify on sight.
better pray that doesn't show up on the quiz though.

im going crazy with how people are starting to agree with snow that sejanus was really stupid and deserved what was coming to him. reading the books first should be a pre requisite to the movie idcccc if that takes away the wider audience, the wider audience all have smooth brains anyway.
ā€œwhy was he colluding with rebels when he couldā€™ve just thought about it pragmatically šŸ™„ā€ iā€™m in your fucking walls. sejanus was never dumb, snow just kept pushing that perception of him through the book to deflect the fact that sejanus was an actual good person. snow thought himself the personification of good and benevolence, which was why everything he did had to have some half-assed excuse as to why he was justified in doing it. it was why he was actually tweaking in the woods when lucy gray left him, because he wanted to rid himself of her but he didnā€™t have an actual reason so he convinced himself of the most random scenario ever to justify trying to shoot at her. so we can establish that snow was an evil broke boy who clearly wasnā€™t goodā€” then sejanus was a direct confrontation of snowā€™s own shortcomings towards that (i donā€™t think i have to detail how sejanus was genuine, it was obvious). coriolanus and sejanus are like the direct opposite characters of each other, and snow knew and took pride in this to an extent. which is why snow couldnā€™t admit that sejanus was good to himself, thus sejanus was deemed ā€˜stupidā€™ to protect his own deluded self actualisation (but this also includes other aspects like how the war made the plinths rich and the snows poor, leading to resentment and jealousy from snow).
ā€œbut that still didnā€™t mean he wasnā€™t doing dumb things throughout the bookā€ was it really that dumb? a rebellion will always include some level of risk but i donā€™t hear anyone calling heavensbee stupid because it actually worked out for him. plus sejanus is district, so if we use our common sense of who he is as a character and emotional intelligence of his situation, itā€™s pretty easy to see why he would get in touch with rebels. heā€™s literally always yearned for the districts, he never once cared about his money or safety, which isnā€™t stupid, itā€™s sad. this was his way of dealing with the guilt of profiting from his peopleā€™s sufferingā€” again, not stupid. you could argue he was reckless, especially when he went into the arena, but most people who simply cast him as a ā€˜dumb characterā€™ ignore how troubled he is and fall into the very filtered lens of snow who was just concentrating on his stupidity.
sejanusā€™ growing radical actions had nothing to do with stupidity and everything to do with feeling helpless and like nothing was changing. he tried minor/low-risk things such as attempting to change the perception of the districts in the capitol, advocating against the hunger games etc etc. of course it didnā€™t work, so his options grew limited to more radical courses of action. its a natural line of thoughtā€” activists literally do it in real life when they feel as if their cause isnā€™t getting enough attention (eg. setting themselves on fire). sejanus is a desperate character who is so selfless in light of snowā€™s constant self-preservation. snow will always put himself first and be paranoid that he will be betrayed like heā€™s betrayed others, so he never understands sejanusā€™ disposition to help and trust people, so he labels him dumb. omg. like. sejanus is so not-stupid iā€™m actually gonna start freaking out!! this is defamatory leave my boo alone!! plz go read a book and work on media literacy i am begging!!!

UPDATED BILL DESIGN
I swear I redesign this guy every 5 business days! I think this might be my last real pass over of his design because I really like this one.
I also know the community is more active on Twitter, but I refuse to post to that app. Tumblr works perfectly fine for me šŸ‘
