The Crimson Pact | Part 2
Characterizations | Part 1 | Part 3 | Part 4
Tumblr media
SoulBond!AU
Pairings: Yandere!Saja Boys x F!Reader
Synopsis: You were never supposed to remember them.
Four hundred years ago, a pact was made—a blood-soaked bond tying five demons to one human soul: yours.
They’ve waited lifetimes for your reincarnation, cursed with obsession, tethered by fate.
And now that you’ve returned?
They’ll burn the world before they let you go again.
Warnings: Soul bond with the Saja Boys, Yandere themes!, obsessive behavior / possessiveness, mild stalking, romantic psychological tension, mentions of implied past death / reincarnation, intense emotional fixation, yearning, a little dirty talk (if you squint), dark romance, sick!reader, mild supernatural body horror (bond sickness), demons, comfort and control.
Author's notes: Thank you guys so much for all your comments, reposts, and likes! I'm definitely motivated to continue this story and have some plans in mind for the future chapters. 🥰
───────── ༺🜃༻ ─────────
The Saja boys are all demons.
They are wrath and ruin. Jealousy and death.
And yet, before her, they kneel.
Because she is the Heart. Because her soul is what keeps them from unraveling into true monsters. Because they were bound by her love and her curse.
They don’t just crave her—they depend on her. Without her presence, their minds deteriorate. Their bodies decay. Their hunger becomes unbearable.
Only Y/N’s touch tames the demon inside.

Part 2:
Tethered in Silence
You wake up every morning feeling… better. But it doesn’t make sense. Because during the day, you feel sick. Nauseous. Lightheaded.
Your skin prickles like you’re wearing clothes that don’t belong to you. Sometimes you forget where you are mid-thought. Your body feels too heavy for this life.
But at night?
You sleep deeply. Without nightmares. Without fear.
It started the day you ran from them.
And you don’t understand it. You’ve done nothing different. No medicine works during the day. But when the sun sets… Your body calms. Your breathing evens out. You feel—safe.
You tell yourself it’s just exhaustion. You don’t know that each night, one of them watches over you.
Sometimes it’s Mystery, curled up outside your window, nose pressed to the glass like a loyal animal waiting to be let inside. He never scratches. Just listens for your breathing to steady—then smiles softly in the dark.
Sometimes it’s Romance, leaving rose petals beneath your balcony, humming one of the songs he swore he wrote just for you. The same one you’ve caught yourself humming without realizing.
Sometimes it’s Jinu—who, when your fever spikes, slips silently into your room just to stand near you until the bond calms. He never moves. Never speaks. Just watches you with reverence and restraint, fists clenched tight to keep himself from reaching for you.
And sometimes—only sometimes—it’s Baby. Not close. Just nearby. Leaning against the wall across the street. Eyes glowing faintly under his hood. Unmoving.
Watching.
They never touch you. Only witness. Only ache.
Your light. Their everything.
They hate to feel your suffering during the day—a consequence of the bond forming without proximity. But they hope that this pain you carry is what drives you toward them.
Because every night, you sleep because they’re there. And you don’t even know it.
You wake up on a Wednesday, feeling well rested—though you know that won’t last long. It never does. You sit on your counter, chewing breakfast slowly, staring off at nothing. Your eyes drift to the shelf.
Romance’s book.
It’s been sitting there for days. Untouched. Daring.
You don’t want to admit you’re curious. But your hand moves anyway. “How did he even know I wanted to read this?” You mutter around a mouthful of bread.
You waddle to the couch and crack it open. Your heart’s not ready, but you flip through the pages. And then—
You freeze.
A passage, underlined in neat black ink:
“Love that spans lifetimes is never gentle. It devours slowly.”
Your breath catches.
The creeping feeling in your chest tightens. Longing. Yearning. You don’t even know for what.
Nope.
You slam the book shut.
Not today.
You work overtime at the café the next few days, thinking you’ll outrun whatever this is. But the nights remain the same. Each one of them leaves something. A new sketchbook on your doorstep, the paper thick and expensive, with a note from Mystery:
“For when you draw us again.”
You haven’t seen him. But your heart races every time you hear footsteps outside. You swear you hear purring through the window once, but shake it off.
The day after, you come home late, too tired to even stand. You drop your bag. Your stomach growls. But your apartment smells like miso and spice. Your favorite ramen sits warm on the stove. No signs of forced entry. No windows broken. Your locks were fine. You tell yourself you must’ve made it before and forgot. You try not to look at the empty bowl already set out for you.
After that, it becomes a pattern.
Groceries show up on your doorstep. Snacks you forgot you liked. Drinks you told no one about. Sometimes a sticky note:
“Don’t skip meals, brat.” (You know it’s from Abby. You roll your eyes… and smile.)
They don’t push. But they never leave.
Letters. Tickets. Handwritten invitations. Concerts. Fanmeets. Award shows. You never go. But you read them all.
The private session ticket with your name in looping calligraphy stays on your desk. You’ve moved it twelve times. You’ve never thrown it away.
Then, on Friday of the next week, comes a final envelope.
No ticket.
No flower.
Just a single sheet of paper, torn at the edges. The ink slightly smudged like someone had been holding it for too long before sealing it. You unfold it slowly.
‘You don’t have to believe us.Just let us prove it.’—J
You sit back on your couch. Everything aches. You’re tired. Dizzy. Burning with fever in the afternoon, freezing by night. It’s getting harder to deny what’s happening. You keep telling yourself it’s a prank. A stunt. A delusion.
They’re famous. Rich. Beautiful. They have no reason to want you.
You met them once.
But the bond doesn’t care about logic. The bond wants what it wants. And as you stare at that letter in your trembling hands… You start to wonder if maybe—just maybe— you want them too.
────────── ⚘ ──────────
By Sunday, you’re fed up from feeling so sick and decide to go and buy new medicines. You’re pale. Shivering. Oblivious to the way demons on the street stop in their tracks when they see you.
One begins to follow you.
From the shadows, Rumi, Zoey, and Mira spot it.
“Target marked,” Zoey whispers.
“No incident,” Rumi replies. “Quiet takedown.”
They move in—silent, lethal. Weapons at the ready.
But then the demon sees your face.
It freezes.
Eyes wide. It backs away, trembling, then flees like it’s seen a god. You never notice. You’re inside buying Tylenol.
The girls stare after you.
“What the hell?” Rumi questions, watching as the other demons in the area back off and run somewhere else.
“That’s… not normal,” Mira mutters.
“Is it her?” Zoey questions, watching your sick form drop a vitamin jelly and curse pathetically. Pity erupts in her chest. “She seems pretty normal to me…”
“Something’s off.” Rumi states, analyzing you. You seemed like a very normal person. No markings whatsoever. Why did they flee? “Maybe we should look into it a bit more..?”
“We can run a background check.” Mira suggests. “Though it’ll just be for precaution. We shouldn’t- ZOEY?”
The rapper of the group was slowly walking towards you with the intent of engaging in conversation.
The fluorescent lights above hum louder than usual.
Your head is pounding. Your limbs feel like lead. Every movement takes just a little more effort than it should.
You shuffle toward the over-the-counter shelf, fingers grazing through boxes of headache meds and nausea tablets. You’ve been here too many times this week.
“You okay? You look like the flu’s winning.”
The voice is light, teasing, warm.
You glance sideways and nearly drop your medicines again. Cool. Effortlessly pretty. The kind of girl who belongs on your feed—not in front of you, talking like you’re friends.
You know her face. You’ve seen her before. Not in person. But in clips. In edits. She’s Zoey—one of the girls from Huntrix.
“Sorry,” she says, flashing an easy grin. “Didn’t mean to startle you. You looked like I did last week when I thought I had the plague but it was just anxiety and kombucha withdrawals.”
You nod stiffly. Your throat is dry. “Yeah. I’ve just… been off…sorry, you’re Zoey, right? As in from Huntrix?”
She giggles nervously. “Yeah, I just need to grab a few things too.” She steps closer to the shelves. Casually, like she’s just browsing. “Cold stuff’s over there, but if it’s more like… migraines or vertigo? These work way faster.” She taps a pack of fast-acting tablets and hands them to you.
You take them without thinking, a little starstruck. “Thanks.”
She studies you—not overtly. But it’s there. Her eyes linger too long on your face. “No problem! I hope you feel better! Uh... I, sorry I didn’t get your name-”
“Y/N” you nodded with a nervous smile.
“Great to meet you, Y/N! Maybe when you feel better we could hang out sometime. Get your instagram?”
You stammered, mouth gaping then closing. What was with all these pop stars approaching you as of late? “Uh, yeah, sure…” You said blinking. You were too sick for this. Why did you have to meet one of the most famous people in the country now when you looked this shitty? And she wanted your instagram? Is this real life?
You told her your instagram handle and she smiled. “Awesome! Well, I hope you feel better.” she started to walk away and you raised an eyebrow. “Uh… weren’t you supposed to get something?
Zoey turned red and laughed nervously. “Oh- right! Silly me. My memory is so bad. Thanks for reminding me!”
You nodded, still a bit shocked at this whole encounter and went to pay for your medicine.
────────── ⚘ ──────────
The next day, You see a clip on TikTok. It was the Saja Boys at a fanmeet. Laughing with the Huntrix girls, though the girls seemed less enthusiastic. You scroll through more of your feed and stop when you see an image.
It was Jinu and Rumi playing footsies.
You feel a pang in your heart and scroll on.
Zoey playfully hitting Mystery and his little pout after that.
Romance and Abby fanart with Mira.
"Miromabby is real!"
"Zoestery supremacy."
"Rujinu playing footsies? They’re the cutest!"
Your stomach drops.
You turn your phone off. Then on. Then off again.
“They’re not mine,” you whisper to convince yourself. “They were never mine.” You feel yourself getting weaker. A sinking feeling in your gut. It’s unexplainable. You were the one avoiding all of the boys and their madness. Why would something like this upset you? You were the one rejecting their invites.
And then something just breaks.
The next weekend, your coworkers drag you out. They mean well. You look like you haven’t slept in days, and so when one of the girls invited you to come out with them after work on a Saturday, you accept.
They take you to a club. Loud music. Glittering lights. Free drinks. You tell yourself you deserve it.
But deep down, you feel wrong. Like you’re doing something unforgivable.
────────── ⚘ ──────────
The boys are in their studio, practicing choreo for an upcoming show when Mystery jolts upright mid-step. His head whips toward the door. His pupils dilate. And then—
He growls. Low. Deep. Animal.
They freeze.
Romance is the first to stop moving, lips parting as he slowly lowers his mic. Abby drops into a ready stance like he’s about to charge into something. “What? What is it? What is she feeling now?”
He’s been on edge for days. Every time Mystery whimpers about your nausea or fever, he paces like a caged beast. Every time your scent spikes with sadness, he throws something across the room. It’s taken both Jinu and Baby to restrain him—twice this week alone. Once when Mystery said you slipped in the shower. Another when your heart rate flatlined in fear while walking home alone. He hasn’t stopped shaking since.
“Tell me,” Abby grits. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
Mystery’s hands twitch. “She’s not alone.”
Romance is already unlocking his phone, screen flipping up to your page—he checks it a hundred times a day. Sometimes a thousand. He breathes in sharply.
“She posted. Or—no, someone tagged her.”
A nightclub. Low lighting. Your smile—nervous. Shy. And then—other men.
Hands brushing your waist. A stranger whispering in your ear. Your head tilting back in a laugh that doesn’t quite reach your eyes.
The phone screen burns in Romance’s hand. His smirk dies. “Is that her?” he asks. But he already knows the answer.
Abby doesn’t bother replying. He rips the phone from Romance’s grip and snarls, muscles tensing beneath his shirt as he glares at the video. “Who the fuck are those guys?” he growls, loud enough to shake the chandelier above. “Why is he touching her? Why is she letting—”
A teacup shatters.
Baby hadn’t moved. But his hand had clenched just enough to crush the porcelain in his grip. He stands at the edge of the room, statue-still. His pupils blown wide, pitch black. He doesn’t blink. Doesn’t flinch. His breathing is slow—too slow—as he watches the clip loop.
He’s memorizing the men’s faces. So he knows who to kill first.
Mystery lets out a sound—not human. It rips from his throat like a guttural whine and a growl, high-pitched and wet. His claws are out, twitching.
“She’s letting strangers touch her,” Baby says softly. But it’s not soft. It’s dangerous.
Romance’s voice is velvet-wrapped venom. He’s smiling again, but the smile is hollow—like a cracked mask. “She’s trying to forget us,” he murmurs. “Trying to pretend she doesn’t belong to us.” His voice dips. “It won’t work.”
There’s a snap. A shift. Something ancient uncoils in the room. The temperature drops. Power hums in the air like static before a storm.
And then—they move. No plan. No hesitation. No words. Just instinct. Baby’s already calling Jinu. The leader’s in a meeting—still gathering intelligence on Rumi, on the Hunters, on the fragile balance between war and reunion.
The phone rings once. “Yes?” Jinu’s voice is curt, sharp with authority.
“She’s at the club,” Baby says calmly.
Jinu doesn’t respond at first. There’s the sound of footsteps. A tiger’s whine. Then Baby adds, like a bullet to the heart:
“Men are touching her.”
The phone crackles. Not with sound, but with energy. Dark, feral, electric. Baby can feel the shift through the line. Something old stirs. Something broken. Then—
Jinu’s voice returns. But it’s not Jinu.
It’s the voice of the thing that crawled to Gwi Ma 400 years ago, begging to bring you back. It’s older. Colder. Hungrier.
“Where is she?”
────────── ⚘ ──────────
You're tipsy. Laughing. Warm. The club pulses like a heartbeat beneath your skin—bass thudding through your ribs, lights smearing color over your vision. You haven’t felt this loose in ages. Not since university. Not since before the dreams started. Before the headaches. Before the boys.
Your coworkers sway around you, drunk and shouting. One of them pours you another shot. You take it. You let it burn. It’s easier to blame the sick feeling in your chest on the alcohol now. Easier than admitting that you’ve been haunted.
You don’t notice the guy your friends brought getting too close. Not at first. He presses against your back under the excuse of helping you keep balance. His hand slides to your waist. You laugh it off. You don’t want to make a scene.
Another drink. Another dizzy smile. Another moment where you forget who you are. “Come on,” he says, too close to your ear. “Let me walk you home.”
You nod. You shouldn’t have.
He throws his jacket over your shoulders like it’s a favor. Wraps an arm around you. Guides you through the club’s glowing mouth into the alley beside it.
The world tilts sideways. Your pulse buzzes against your skull. And then—you round the corner.
And they're there.
Five shadows cut from the dark like carved obsidian. They don’t speak. They don’t have to. Your breath hitches in your throat. The bond snaps into place like a noose and for the first time all night—you can breathe. The ache behind your eyes disappears. Your limbs go steady. Your nausea evaporates. And even in your drunken haze, you know it’s because of them.
The boys who haunt your dreams. The demons who ruin your peace. The monsters who feel like home.
Abby moves first. He doesn’t speak to you. His full, furious attention is on the man still touching you. “Touch her again,” Abby growls, voice low and venomous, “and I’ll shatter every bone in your body.”
Romance steps into view, golden eyes gleaming like firelight. He tsks, slow and mocking. “Naughty girl,” he murmurs, eyes trailing down your body like he’s savoring the view of you in your dress. “Out here, letting strangers paw at what isn’t theirs.”
His gaze lingers on your thighs. The hem of your dress. Your dazed expression. You see the muscle in his jaw twitch. “She forgot us,” he says with a small, cruel smile. “So she let herself be touched.”
Romance leans in with a sickly sweet smile aimed at the guy by your side. “She’s not yours to protect,” he whispers. “So if you would so kindly… fuck off.”
The guy squares his shoulders. “Who the hell do you think—” His voice dies the moment his eyes land on the figure behind them all.
Baby.
Still. Silent. Watching. His pupils are blown wide, pitch black. Shadows crawl up his arms like smoke.
The guy’s bravado crumples. “Hey, hey—I didn’t know she was spoken for…” He stumbles back. Your balance wavers.
Mystery darts forward, catching you in his arms like you were made to fit there. He buries his nose in your neck with a shaky inhale. Like it's the only thing in the entire world that could calm him down. You don’t push him away.
“Y/N? You know these guys?” your friend calls weakly.
“Uh huh,” you mumble. Your voice is slurred, but you don’t miss how Romance is staring—burning holes through your clothes. Your spine prickles. He rakes his eyes over you slowly, like memorizing every inch. You remember the way he said you belonged to him. And for a second, you want to.
Abby moves closer again, jaw tense. His eyes flick from your dazed expression to the guy who dared to touch you earlier. He sees red.
“Take care of him,” Baby says, the words barely audible—but they’re a death sentence. Abby cracks his knuckles.
“With pleasure.”
“Don’t look, baby,” Mystery whispers into your ear. You shiver. His voice is soft, but it carries heat. Danger. Something low coils in your stomach, and lower still. His hands tighten around your waist and you melt. You don’t even notice the scream behind you.
“You came,” you slur, eyes glossy. “I… feel better now…”
“Is that so, princess?” Romance frowns, stepping closer. He tilts your chin with two fingers. The bond flares. A moan slips from his throat before he can stop it. His eyes fall lower—to the swell of your chest in that too-short dress.
“Did you wear this for them?” He asks through gritted teeth. “For all those men to see you like this?”
His jaw tenses. His hands twitch. Mystery’s fingers dig into your hips and you gasp. It’s too much. You whimper. And it breaks something in all of them.
Romance yanks his hand back like he’s been burned, turning away with a curse. Marks rise on his skin, glowing faintly. You don’t even notice.
But then—
Jinu steps from the shadows. His gaze is ice. Piercing. Regal. He spares no glance for the man Abby dragged away. Only you.
“You’re drunk,” he says flatly.
You flinch.
“You’re reckless.”
Tears prick at your eyes. You know you shouldn’t have gone out. You know you shouldn’t feel better just because they’re here. But you do. Jinu’s hand reaches for your jaw, and you go still. The moment his fingers graze your skin, the bond explodes between you. You can’t breathe.
He leans down until your noses almost touch.
“Look at you,” he murmurs. “So reckless. So breakable.”
Jinu trails his nose on the side of your neck causing a shiver to erupt down your spine.
“If you’d stopped pretending this wasn’t real, you’d be spread across my lap, begging us to forgive you.”
You suck in a breath. Every nerve in your body screams. You squeeze your thighs together. This is wrong. This is insane. You should be running.
But you’re not.
You’re melting.
He lets go. You nearly fall forward—but he catches you. Of course he does.
They don’t ask.
They don’t wait.
They take you home.
Theirs.
────────── ⚘ ──────────
From the rooftop nearby, Mira watches the scene unfold.
The way the boys surround you.
The way you lean into them like they’re the only thing keeping you alive.
And then—
They vanish in smoke. With you.
She presses a finger to her earpiece. “She’s not normal,” she whispers. “And she’s gone with them.”
────────── ⚘ ──────────
The sheets are silk under your touch. A splitting headache forms and you groan, last night’s party flooding back like a cruel wave. You decide you’re never drinking again.
Your eyes open—and your stomach twists. The ceiling isn’t yours. You bolt upright, heart pounding. And they’re there.
All five of them. Beautiful. Dangerous. Familiar in a way that makes your soul ache. They’re watching you. Some with concern. Some with reverence. Some like they want to devour you.
“Where am I?” you breathe. Your voice shakes. “Why am I here?”
You look around wildly, mind racing. You remember the latter events of the night. Romance’s gaze. Mystery’s breath on your ear. Abby’s voice like thunder. Baby’s black eyes. Jinu’s warning...
“You took me,” you gasp. “You took me.”
Abby steps forward first—hands raised like you’re a spooked animal. “You were in danger.”
“I was out with my friends,” you argue.
Mystery whispers from where he kneels near the door. “You’re always in danger when you’re not with us.” His voice is soft, but it cuts like glass.
Romance kneels beside the bed next. Too graceful. Too close. “Let us explain.”
You scramble back, trembling. “No. No more dreams. No more tricks.” Your hands press to your temples. “I’m not yours.”
You say it like you need to believe it. Like it’s the only thing keeping you sane.
Baby finally speaks from the shadows. “Then why do you feel safer here than you’ve felt in your entire life?”
His voice is emotionless. Clinical. But something about it makes your skin erupt in chills. You freeze. Because he’s right. And that terrifies you.
Abby sits at the edge of the bed, watching you like a kicked dog. “You must be tired. How about a bath first, hmm?” His voice is too gentle for someone so strong.
You flinch. He notices.  And it kills him.
“I should go home—”
“Please, stay,” Mystery pleads. His voice is almost a whimper. You look at him and feel your heartbeat falter. Then Jinu approaches. Deliberate. Measured. The pull in your chest pulses harder.
“We would never hurt you,” he says, voice steady. “Please allow us to explain.”
You glance around. Five sets of eyes. Each one begging for the same thing. Not obedience. Not fear. A chance.
You sigh. “Fine. But I need a bath first.”
They release a breath like they’d been underwater for hours. Romance smiles. “Thank you, baby.”
So there you were, sitting on the edge of a couch that costs more than your rent. Hair damp and in clothes way too big for you. Based on the scent, you hate how you could tell they were Jinu’s. Unbeknown to you, the guys had drawn sticks to decide who’s clothes you would wear after your shower.
Velvet cushions. Mahogany floors. Tall windows draped in gauzy silk that sways with no wind. You don’t know where you are.
But it smells like them. Like rain on stone, smoke, citrus, old paper, and heat.
You’re in their apartment.
And they’re all still here.
Watching.
Waiting.
Like wolves circling their starved mate—but trying to look civilized about it.
Abby comes up from behind you, handing you a glass of water and two painkillers. “For your pretty little head. It must be pounding right now”
You noticed his extra caution and nervousness and it broke your heart a little bit even if it shouldn’t. You take the medicine. “Thank you.”
“Anytime, princess.”
The room is bathed in silence after you take your medicine. Five pairs of eyes staring at you with longing and another emotion you were too afraid to acknowledge. Fondness?
Love?
You shake your head at the thought.
All of them couldn’t believe you were here. In their clothes sitting on their couch in their apartment. It was almost too good to be true. They had to be careful. They couldn’t afford to have you run like last time.
Because they knew they wouldn’t just let you go now. Now that you’re here in their clutches. They’d make you stay.
Romance is the first to speak. “You’ve been dreaming of us.”
It isn’t a guess.
You swallow. Hard. “How do you know that?”
Mystery, curled up on a cushion across from you, answers in a low murmur. “Because we feel it when you do.”
You flinch. “That doesn’t make sense.”
Jinu steps forward slowly, crouching down like he’s afraid you’ll bolt. “The bond is active again.”
You cock your head to the side like a puppy. It was the cutest thing they’d ever seen.
Baby’s fists tighten, resisting the urge to pounce on you.
Jinu speaks. “Your soul remembers. But your mind doesn’t. That’s why you feel sick during the day. Why you sleep like you’ve finally come home.”
He doesn’t touch you—but he gestures to the sketchbook on their coffee table. “You’ve been drawing us, haven’t you?”
You glance down. The sketchbook you didn’t bring with you. The one Mystery must have brought you. The pages are full of lines you don’t remember making. Faces. Threads. A burning palace. A blood moon. And five boys who all look like them.
“These don’t mean anything,” you say quietly. But your voice shakes.
Abby leans against the far wall, arms crossed. “You feel cold during the day. Like you’re not in your own skin.”
You nod slowly. “And you’ve been dizzy. Unsteady. Like something inside you is pulling.”
More nods. “That’s the bond, too.”
Romance sits down across from you, not too close. For once, he looks serious. “You don’t have to believe everything right now. But you feel it. Don’t you?”
“The thread. Between us.”
You try to speak.
Nothing comes out.
You stand up abruptly, putting the coffee table between you and all of them. They all flinch like they’re ready to catch you if you run. “I don’t know what’s happening to me. I’m having dreams that don’t feel like mine. I’m drawing with a hand that doesn’t feel like mine. I feel like I’m losing my mind.”
Baby’s voice cuts in—calm and sharp. “You’re not losing your mind.”
“You’re remembering what was taken from you.”
You turn to Jinu, eyes wet with frustration. “Then explain it. Really explain it. No more riddles.”
Jinu takes a breath like it hurts to speak the words. The others go quiet. You feel the room shift—heavier. Like the bond itself is listening.
“You died.”
His voice is low. Steady. But grief hums under every syllable. “Four hundred years ago. You died. And it was my fault.”
He doesn’t blink. “I sold my soul to Gwi Ma for fame. I thought I wanted luxury, adoration—immortality. I got it. But then I met you.”
“You were just a girl. Bright. Human. Good. You saw me for what I was—a demon. And you stayed anyway.”
Your eyebrows raised at the mention of demon, but listened on, letting him finish.
“But I was selfish. And you paid the price. When you died, I begged Gwi Ma- the demon king to bring you back. He said no.”
His fists clench on his knees. And you began to think maybe he was crazy. A demon king? Really?
“So I made a deal. If I could bind other demons to your soul—build a tether strong enough to pull you back across lifetimes—he’d let you be reborn.”
He looks at you now. Really looks.
“And I did. I found them. Each one of us—Abby, Romance, Mystery, Baby—we lived lives tied to you. Not all at once. Not always together.”
“In every lifetime, you met one of us. You fell in love. You died. Again and again.”
Your breath catches in your throat and fear grips you. I died? Multiple times? Are they crazy? Every rational thought within you told you to reject this explanation. This Fairytale and yet…
When you looked into each of their eyes they were sincere. Jinu’s eyes holding so much truth so much anguish. Either they were psychos who believed their lies or…
It was all the truth. And that terrified you.
“You’ve lived dozens of lives, and in every one, your soul was trying to return to the pact.”
“Now… we’re all here. Together. Finally.”
“And your soul remembers.”
You sit frozen. The blood drains from your face. Your voice comes out broken: “So… I’m not me.”
Jinu’s expression shatters. He moves toward you slowly—like you’ll flee again. “You are you. You’re this lifetime’s version of her. But you’re more than this moment. You’re all the love, all the pain, all the choices you made to find your way back to us.”
Questions began swimming in your mind. Demons? They were demons? There was a Demon king, this Gwi Ma… it was all so crazy. Too crazy. Maybe too crazy to be a lie… How else would you explain this tether to them, this bond. How you’ve been feeling. The dreams, the sketches, the visions. It lines up with this story.
Mystery whispers from the corner, cutting through your thoughts. “We missed you every time.”
There was a pain in his gaze, and you looked around to see that same pain reflected in everyone’s eyes.
You needed more details. More explanations. Them not being human made sense, that was clear to you. But everything else, just seemed so bizarre to be true. Demons were real? You had been reincarnated? And they had loved you throughout those lifetimes? Their souls were tied to yours?
Well, that last bit had you believing, because at least that last bit you actually felt.
It was all too crazy and you sighed, rubbing your temples. You didn’t want to believe them but somehow you just did. Like it all made sense. And deep down you knew it was the truth.
You let the silence stretch. Something hot stings behind your eyes. “So what now?... You expect me to just—fall in love with you all?”
Baby answers this time. Voice low. Final. “No.”
“We expect you to remember that you already did.”
Your head is pounding. Not in a normal way. It feels like something is unraveling behind your eyes—memories that don’t belong to you pressing against the inside of your skull like water through cracked glass.
You close your eyes. The room spins. You hear a voice. Soft. Familiar.
“Don’t push her,” Jinu murmurs to the others. “She’s at the edge.”
You open your mouth, then close it again. You want to argue. Scream. Say it’s all ridiculous. Say you don’t believe in past lives or demons or fate.
But your heart won’t let you. And neither will the thread quietly tugging behind your ribs. You don’t realize you’ve sunk back onto the couch until Mystery is gently placing a pillow behind your head, his touch featherlight. He doesn’t speak. Just hums something low and wordless as your eyes flutter shut.
Your head still hurts, but less. The weight of everything presses down—and still, for the first time in days, you don’t feel alone.
Romance crouches nearby, hands on his knees, watching you through his lashes. “We’re not asking you to love us today.”
“We’re asking for a chance.”
Abby, his arms crossed, finally uncrosses them. “A chance to take care of you. Like we were supposed to.”
You open your eyes. The ceiling above you glows faintly with soft reflected light. There’s no sound but their breathing. And your own heartbeat.
“Just… a chance?” you whisper.
Jinu kneels beside the couch again. “That’s all.”
“And if I don’t remember?”
He smiles—small. Sad.
“Then we’ll give you a thousand new reasons to love us again.”
You don’t say yes.
But you don’t say no.
You close your eyes.
And this time, when the bond pulses gently at the base of your spine like a heartbeat that doesn’t belong to you…
You let it.

Tumblr media
— s is for safe
Tumblr media
you woke up to the sound of his fast, shallow breathing.
“sylus,” you whispered, already reaching for him.
he flinched under your touch. eyes still shut tight, brow creased and jaw clenched. his back was slick with sweat, fists twisted in the sheets. he was somewhere else.
“sylus,” you said again, softer this time, your hand cupping his cheek. “it’s okay. you’re home. you’re safe.”
he woke with a jolt. his shoulders were tense, eyes wide and wild. for a moment, he looked straight through you. then slowly, slowly, he blinked and came back.
“…hey,” you whispered.
he didn’t say anything. his throat worked hard around a word that never came. you didn’t ask. you didn’t need to. you just opened your arms and after a moment, he collapsed into them.
he buried his face against your neck like it was the only thing tethering him to reality. his arms wrapped around your waist too tight, like he was scared you might disappear too.
you ran your fingers through his hair, slow and steady, grounding him. his breath hitched again.
“i didn’t mean to wake you,” he murmured finally. his voice was hoarse and unusual small.
“you didn’t,” you lied.
he gave a broken little laugh into your skin. “liar.”
you pulled him closer. “you don’t have to apologize for having nightmares, sylus.”
“i hate that you see me like this.”
“i love seeing you like this.”
he froze. you didn’t stop touching him. your fingers combed gently through his hair, your other hand tracing lazy circles on his back.
“i love seeing the real you,” you said quietly. “even when you’re hurting. especially then.”
he didn’t speak and pressed closer, like he wanted to crawl inside your ribcage and stay there. you kissed the crown of his head.
“you’re safe here,” you whispered. “you don’t have to fight when you’re with me.”
his arms tightened. you felt his breath shudder once, then again. his whole body trembled like he was trying not to fall apart.
“you’re safe,” you said firmer now. “i’ve got you. i’m not letting go.”
“…you promise?” it came out so quiet you barely heard it.
“i promise,” you whispered. “as long as you want me, i’ll stay.”
he didn’t say anything. just held you like the words had cracked something open inside him. eventually, his breathing slowed. his grip softened. and for the first time in what felt like forever, sylus fell asleep in your arms without a weapon under his pillow.
because you were there and he was safe.

Adding to this, you don't have to finish that book, or movie, or game, or TV series. Just, move on to what makes you happy.
gotta be honest I just fundamentally don't get the concept of hatewatching. like sure I've put a dumb movie on during a get together with friends to get silly entertainment out of it. but whenever another disney live action remake or harry potter thing or whatever comes out and I have to see posts on my dash being like "boycott it! if you REALLY have to see how bad it is at least pirate it!!" I'm always like. bitch you live like this? you watch movies you know you'll hate? you take time out of your day - and you have a limited number of days on this earth - to watch a movie you'll hate, when there are so many great movies in the world that you could love? I'll never understand it.

f1updates Kimi Antonelli's girlfriend, Y/n L/n, posted on her story about arriving to the Canadian Grand Prix. The last time she went to watch a Grand Prix live, at the Spanish Grand Prix, Antonelli DNFed. Should Mercedes fans be scared of a bad luck charm in the garage this weekend?
comments
user1 Still not over Spanish GP... maybe Y/n actually is bad luck lol

Tumblr media Tumblr media
real life
You scrolled through your phone, barely blinking as all the hateful comments and mean words flashed past on the screen. You should be used to the hate, having dated Kimi since his F2 days, but it still made no sense to you. These people didn't even know you, and yet they thought they could say whatever they wanted about Kimi and your's relationship.
You tried not to let it phase you, you tried to pretend like it didn't hurt each time someone on the internet called you a 'terrible girlfriend' or a 'bad luck charm'. Formula 1 was Kimi's dream, and you hated the thought of ruining it with your own selfish insecurities.
It also bothered you how much the fans looked down on you for missing so many grand prixs at the beginning of the season. You hadn't meant to, but your older sister had given birth prematurely to triplets a couple weeks before the season started, and you had stayed at your family home in Italy to help out for those difficult first months.
Kimi supported you fully, of course. He understood the need to stick with your family, and help them when they needed it. Between races, he had even stopped by the house to help with the triplets himself.
You and Kimi had both been so excited for the Spanish Grand Prix, but clearly that didn't turn out so well. And honestly? With how much hate you were getting for attending the Canadian Grand Prix, you were half-tempted to fly back across the ocean to Italy to help change diapers.
You scrolled past another negative post, one that wondered why Kimi would date you if you were so basic looking. You shut off your phone and resisted the urge to chuck it against the wall.
"What's wrong, vita mia?" Kimi called from the other room of the hotel, noticing you despondently laying starfished across the bed. You couldn't help but smile at the Italian nickname.
"Just stupid people on the internet," you replied. Kimi walked out of the other room, holding a leftovers box with spaghetti and meatballs that he had been warming up in the hotel microwave. Even if the spaghetti wasn't as good as authentic Italian pasta, it reminded both of them of home just a bit.
"Are you looking at the bad luck posts again?" Kimi asked, upset. He hated that there were people who called themselves his fans who treated his girlfriend so cruelly. You nodded.
Seeing your face, Kimi didn't say anything, but instead set the leftovers down on the bedside table and sat down on the edge of the bed, his body angled towards you. You sat up, scooching towards Kimi so you could rest your head on his shoulder as both of you leaned back on the pillows.
"I'm sorry this is happening," Kimi said softly. "I got so caught up in my own dream, I hardly payed attention to the toll it was taking on you to be there, too."
"It's not that," you said, trying to think of a good way to describe how you felt. "I love supporting you, and getting to be a part of that dream. I just... wasn't prepared for the fans to not want me to be a part of it."
"Oh, carissima," Kimi whispered. He pulled you closer to him with his right arm, and rested his head on top of yours. You didn't even realize that tears had started to fall until he reached up to brush them away.
"I love you," you spoke quietly. "I love you, and it sucks that people don't see that."
"I love you too." Kimi reached over your side to grab the leftover pasta, handing you a fork and taking one for himself. "I'll fix this, amore. I promise."

kimi.antonelli Y/n and I have been together for years, and I am shocked and horrified to see with my own eyes people who call themselves my 'fans' turning against her. We love each other, in sickness and in health, in the happiness and in the hurting, and through both good fortune and bad luck.
Anyone who doesn't see that and respect our relationship, and my girlfriend, isn't a real fan by any means.

THE TWIN SIN

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𐔌՞꜆. ̫.꜀՞𐦯
your room is darker than usual. the curtains haven’t been drawn in days, and the faint blue from the hallway security lights bathes everything in a false calm. the silence is thick, but not empty. it’s never truly quiet here. not when your mind speaks louder than the demons you hunt, not when the walls remember things you wish you could forget.
you’re curled on the edge of your bed, knees pulled to your chest, hoodie swallowed in the folds of your limbs, sleeves half-twisted and fingers white-knuckled from holding too tight. the air feels heavier tonight — and not from demons. it’s the kind of weight that sinks into your bones, into the part of you that still hasn’t forgiven yourself for that one night.
no. not night.
morning.
early.
sunlight leaking like gold sin across rumi’s sheets.
your sister’s bed.
your twin. your mirror. your better half. the one with the conviction, the one who doesn’t falter. the one who smiles like a sword and sings like she was born to cut monsters down.
and you?
you were in her bed, beneath a demon’s hands, your back arched and your voice a hoarse, broken thing as you whispered his name like it tasted forbidden. like it was burning your tongue on the way out.
jinu.
you hear her now. behind her closed door. breathless laughter. soft, rhythmic thumps. her voice wraps around his like a silk ribbon — seamless, beautiful, whole.
the difference is — everyone knows about them. they’re allowed to be a secret in plain sight.
you’re just the mistake he doesn’t talk about.
and god, you hate yourself for wishing you were anything but.
you hate that you remember how he sounded the first time. how he gripped your hips like they were made for ruin. how his demon eyes glowed beneath your skin, lighting you up from the inside out.
you hate that you wanted it.
“thinking too hard, don’t you think?”
his voice cuts through the fog in your head like a blade sheathed in velvet. slow. smooth. serpentine.
you flinch. you hadn’t even heard the door open. hadn’t heard footsteps. but there he is — leaning against your windowsill like he belongs in a dream you’re trying to forget.
only this time, he’s not dressed in black.
he wears a loud, silk button-down shirt splashed with watercolor pinks and reds, open halfway down his chest — exposing collarbones like carved marble and smooth, unbothered skin. gold chains catch on his throat like he stole them from heaven and bent them into something unholy. bright white slacks hang low on his hips, spotless, expensive. his hair is swept up like he’s ready for a stage, not a haunting.
he’s color. he’s warmth. he’s everything beautiful and burning and wrong.
you shoot to your feet.
“leave.”
he tilts his head like you’re adorable. like you’re a pet scolding its master. “so cold tonight,” he hums, stepping forward. “and here i thought we were past pretending.”
“i’m not doing this,” you snap. your voice is quiet but sharp. fractured. “you shouldn’t be here.”
he doesn’t stop moving. not until he’s standing close enough that you feel it again — that warmth. that heat. that overwhelming gravity he always carries with him, like the air bends around him and forgets who it belongs to.
“why?” he murmurs, voice like smoke against your cheek. “it wasn’t a problem before. the first time… you didn’t seem so conflicted. if i remember right, you—”
“because it was my sister’s bed.”
your voice breaks. not from volume. from everything else.
“because she’s my twin. because you’re hers, jinu. everyone knows it. she smiles when she looks at you. she talks about you like you’re a miracle. and i…” your hands tremble at your sides. “i let you touch me first. before her. before you even saw her like that.”
he has the audacity to look guilty. no — not guilty. concerned. like it matters. like that makes it better.
“it was a moment,” he says, stepping closer again. “it didn’t mean—”
“it meant everything.”
you shut your eyes, voice shaking. “and it’s eating me alive. i can’t stand the sound of her happiness because i know the secret under it. i know what you’ve done. i know what i let happen. and i don’t want to do it again. i won’t.”
he reaches out — his fingers brush your jaw, almost reverent. almost. but you step back before he can trace the edge of your skin, before he can worm his way back under it.
“leave.”
this time your voice is steady. steel, not sand. and something shifts in his face. he stares at you for a long, breathless moment — eyes unreadable. his lips part like he wants to say something. like there’s still more temptation where that came from.
but he doesn’t.
he turns. disappears in silence.
and you’re left with nothing but the echo of your own heartbeat and the aching in your spine. you walk to your bathroom, flick on the light, and stare at yourself. you don’t look like her. not really. not in this moment. you look tired. older. like someone who’s finally decided not to be devoured.
you brush your teeth. wash your face. change into the shirt that still smells faintly of rosewater and lavender.
rumi’s scent.
you hate that it still comforts you.
you climb into bed and pull the sheets up to your chest, heart loud in your ears. you don’t cry. not tonight. tonight you made the right choice. and maybe that’s enough.
but even as your eyes close, you swear you can still feel him.
his voice, coiled behind your ear like a whispered curse:
“thinking too hard…”
𐔌՞꜆. ̫.꜀՞𐦯
sleep comes eventually. not easily, not gently. it drags you under like thick velvet — heavy and warm, suffocating in its sweetness. it clings to your skin, wraps around your limbs, lulls your mind into stillness with the false promise of rest.
but even in dreams, he finds you.
it starts with heat.
not fire — but humid. sticky. breathless. the kind that clings to your neck like sweat in the middle of july. your body shifts against the sheets, already damp, and your thighs press together instinctively. there’s a pressure building low in your stomach, soft at first — then aching.
you hear something.
a voice?
no — a breath.
your head tilts in the dream, like you’re watching yourself from inside your own skin. your body lies there, vulnerable, untouched and waiting. the room is painted gold and amber, flickering like candlelight though you own none. and then—
lips.
wet, slow, starving — on your neck, then lower. someone’s mouth suckles the curve of your collarbone like it belongs to them. hands ghost over your chest, thumbs brushing your nipples until they stiffen. it doesn’t feel like a dream. it feels real. almost too much. too sharp. your breath stutters as your back arches on instinct, and a tongue traces the underside of your breast like it’s a promise.
a whisper curls at your thigh.
warm breath, so close you twitch.
and then — his voice. silk-drenched, amused, wicked.
“i like when you make those noises…”
your eyes fly open.
and he’s there.
not in your head. not some figment. jinu. real. above you, straddling you on the mattress like he’d always been there. his hair is tousled, mouth slightly parted, his chest rising with uneven breaths. the hunger in his eyes is unholy — and not just desire. it’s something deeper. primal. like he hasn’t eaten in weeks and you’re the last drop of sweetness on earth.
your body freezes. but not with fear.
with recognition.
he’s shirtless. glowing faintly under the moonlight pouring through your blinds, a sheen of sweat across his skin. his pants hang dangerously low, the band of his briefs peeking out in the dimness, teasing. you know what you should do — scream, shove, demand answers. but your lips part for something else entirely.
“you’ve got the wrong room…” you whisper, voice hoarse from sleep and something heavier.
but your legs fall open wider.
an invitation.
jinu exhales a laugh — dark, amused, and dangerous.
he lowers himself slightly, palms bracing on either side of your head, his nose brushing yours.
“oh no, baby,” he murmurs, eyes gleaming. “this is exactly where i’m meant to be.”
his weight presses into the mattress, warm and real. he hovers above you like a fever, eyes glittering with that dangerous gold, barely human in the dark — even dressed like one. his body gleams in the moonlight, all lean muscle and long limbs and a kind of grace that doesn’t belong to the living.
you try to sit up, to say something sharper than the breath caught in your throat — but your wrists are already pinned gently, not harsh, not cruel. reverent, almost. like he’s handling something sacred.
“jinu…” his name escapes in a breathless warning, one that doesn’t sound like no.
his smile curves like sin. “you always say it like that,” he hums, voice like warm syrup. “soft. scared. sweet.”
his mouth finds your neck again, and you gasp, spine curling as he sucks slow and deep, tongue dragging like he’s savoring every second of your skin. his hands roam down, slow — thumbs grazing under the hem of your shirt, teasing.
“don’t…” you whisper — but your thighs squeeze around his hips, grounding him. holding him there.
he chuckles against your collarbone, the sound deep and indulgent. “you say that,” he murmurs, “but your body never listens.”
he licks down the valley of your chest, lips dragging heat in his wake, his hands slipping under your shirt like he’s unwrapping a gift.
and god, you let him.
you let him.
your fingers curl into the sheets, and your chest rises to meet his mouth, betraying every half-hearted protest. his tongue circles your nipple before pulling it into his mouth, wet and hot and dizzying. you moan — sharp, guttural — and he groans in response, low in his throat, the sound vibrating against your skin.
“see?” he whispers, trailing kisses down your ribs. “this. this is why i come back.”
his hand cups between your legs, warm and possessive, and you jolt — breath hitching as he rubs slow, heavy circles through your underwear. his head dips, lips grazing just above your waistband.
“i could fuck rumi a hundred times and it wouldn’t feel like this,” he says, and you freeze.
not because it hurts.
because it doesn’t.
because it makes your pulse race. because you want to be the one he loses control over. because the idea of him never forgetting you feels too powerful to refuse.
“you don’t mean that,” you whisper, even as your hips lift into his hand.
he looks up, hair messy and lips red, expression worshipful and wild. “i mean every word. i like her — we have something pretty. clean.”
he leans in, breath hot over the soaked fabric between your thighs.
“but you…” he kisses just above your core, eyes locked to yours, “you ruin me.”
you shudder beneath him. you should push him off. scream. call for rumi. claw your way back to some version of right.
but your fingers are tangled in his hair now, guiding him lower.
and jinu — wicked, beautiful, starving jinu — sighs like he’s found god between your legs.
his mouth presses against you through the fabric — slow, savoring, deliberate — and your thighs twitch around his shoulders. your breath stutters out of your lungs like it’s trying to escape the room entirely. you can’t think. not clearly. not when he’s already soaking you in praise without a single word.
his tongue moves in slow, devoted drags, and you swear your vision dims at the edges. he hums against you like he’s content, like he could live right here, between your legs, drinking down every tremble you give him.
and still — still — you whisper, “we shouldn’t…”
you say it like a prayer that’s already halfway to hell.
his fingers slide beneath the waistband of your underwear, so slow it’s cruel. he pulls the fabric down your thighs like a ceremony, kissing each inch of newly exposed skin. he doesn’t say a word for a moment, just watches you, breathless and open beneath him, your hands gripping the sheets like they’ll keep you grounded.
“you’re still trying,” he murmurs, voice low and fond. “adorable.”
his lips press to your bare thigh, then higher. he kisses like a man possessed — no, not possessed. possessing. like your body is already his and you’re just now figuring it out.
“you keep saying ‘no’ with your mouth,” he breathes against your heat, “but your body is screaming ‘please.’”
your hips lift into his face before you can stop yourself.
you want to lie. you want to tell him he’s wrong, that you don’t want this, that it was a mistake then and it’s still a mistake now — but his tongue is sliding over you in long, slow strokes, and every thought is stripped away in pieces.
he eats you like he’s starving.
not messy. not brutal. tender. each flick of his tongue is calculated, each kiss against your clit a love letter written in fire. he moans into you like you’re the one ruining him.
your fingers thread into his hair, your thighs tightening around his head as your back arches — and it’s then that he grips your hips, pinning you still.
“don’t run now,” he says, voice wrecked with hunger. “i haven’t even started.”
you whimper — a small, broken sound that betrays every fight left in you.
and when he slides a finger into you, slow and perfect, curling just right, you swear you see stars burst behind your eyelids. your mouth falls open, no words, just breath. just sound. and he drinks every noise like it’s his reward.
“that’s it,” he growls softly. “let go. be honest with me for once.”
your hips roll into his face, your hands trembling in his hair, and you know — you know — this is the last line. after this, there’s no pretending. no going back. no erasing the way he touches you like he was born to, like he knows every soft part of you better than you do.
you’re already falling when he slides another finger inside.
your legs shake. your lips part around a half-formed “jinu—”
and he answers with a moan that melts straight through your spine.
it’s too much. it’s perfect. you hate him. you want more.
you want to scream. you want him to stay.
and when your climax hits you, it’s with the force of every sin you swore you’d never repeat.
you fall apart beneath him — voice a wrecked melody of pleasure and guilt, thighs clenching around his head, fingers locked in his hair like you’ll drown if you let go. he doesn’t stop. not until you’re trembling, crying out softly, your body twitching with aftershocks.
he finally lifts his head — lips slick, eyes wild, expression full of that unholy devotion that makes your heart ache.
he crawls up your body, leaving a trail of kisses along your stomach, chest, throat.
then he stops above you. one hand on your cheek. soft. adoring.
“see?” he whispers. “you were never just a mistake.”
your chest rises and falls like the tide, still catching its rhythm after everything. the room feels quieter now, but not safe — never safe. jinu’s weight settles beside you on the mattress, his skin still warm from the way he touched you, his breath brushing the top of your shoulder like he hasn’t really left your body at all.
you sit up slowly, tugging the blanket around yourself like it’s armor, even though he’s already seen every part of you unguarded.
you don’t look at him when you speak.
“we can’t keep doing this.”
your voice is soft. but final.
“one day we’ll get caught. and it’ll hurt everyone. it’ll destroy things that don’t deserve to be broken.”
you pause. the ache in your throat is worse than anything between your legs.
“this is selfish.”
a silence stretches between you, and then — fingers. gentle. beneath your chin.
he tilts your face toward him, eyes glowing dimly in the dark. molten. soft. sure.
“baby,” he murmurs, brushing a thumb against your bottom lip,
“why do you think i’m a demon?”
you blink.
his smile deepens, slow and indulgent.
“selfish is what i am. that’s the whole point.”
he kisses you before you can answer — slow, warm, and laced with sin. not demanding. not greedy. hungry in that reverent, unraveling way again. and this time, it’s not just his mouth that touches you.
he peels the rest of his clothes away with that effortless grace he always carries, like he was born to be looked at — and god, he is. he’s carved of fire and desire and danger, every line of his body sharp and fluid at once. when he presses you back into the sheets again, it’s not rushed. it’s not wild. it’s worship.
he kisses your jaw. slow.
“here,” he whispers between each kiss, “because this is where you lock your anger, right under your skin. always clenched. always afraid to speak.”
he kisses your collarbone. teeth dragging slightly.
“and here — because this is where you carry the guilt. i taste it every time.”
he kisses the curve beneath your breast, and your breath hitches.
“this part,” he murmurs, “is the most delicate. you flinch when i touch you here. like you’re waiting to break.”
he kisses the underside of your thigh — slow, thick with heat — and your entire body burns from the inside out.
“these legs,” he grins against your skin, “you don’t even know what they do to me. they wrap around me like chains, and i willingly drown.”
he crawls back up your body, trailing his fingers across every inch like he’s painting a map. like he’s memorizing the very shape of you.
“every part of you,” he whispers against your lips, “makes me worse. makes me want more. i could have any body in this city. do you know how many i’ve had?”
you nod faintly, eyes hazy. because of course you know. he’s jinu. beautiful. untouchable. untamed.
his voice drops.
“and still, i always end up back here. wanting you.”
your body moves before your mind can stop it. hips lifting, hands gripping his shoulders, mouth crashing into his again.
because maybe you’re selfish too.
maybe being wanted like this makes the sin worth it.
maybe, just maybe, damnation has never felt so good.
his breath is heavy now — thick with want, coiling like smoke as it leaves his mouth and dances across your skin. you feel it more than hear it. his body above yours, all heat and pressure and temptation made flesh. your fingers trace the curve of his shoulder, the dip of his spine, and your eyes meet his — gold, burning, starving.
your thighs part naturally, like your body remembers him before your mind even catches up. his fingers slide down, slow and deliberate, stroking over you with practiced ease — and when he groans under his breath, it’s like he’s been holding it in for days.
“you’re still so warm for me,” he mutters, pressing his forehead to yours. “like you never stopped wanting me.”
you bite your bottom lip, but don’t argue.
can’t.
he presses the head of his cock against your entrance, teasing, dragging it through your slick folds — and your entire body trembles with the weight of almost. the stretch. the pressure. the heat building in your core like a second heartbeat.
“jinu…” you whisper, half warning, half plea.
his voice is soft. raw.
“i missed this. missed you.”
and then he pushes in.
slow. inch by inch. your walls stretching around him, welcoming him back like he never left. the intrusion is dizzying — the ache, the burn, the way he fits so perfectly inside you. a sound escapes you, broken and low, and jinu answers with a groan that vibrates in his chest.
“fuck…” he breathes. “you still feel like heaven.”
he stills for a moment, buried deep inside, his hips flush against yours, like he needs time to memorize how it feels — how you feel — before he moves again.
your nails scrape down his back. you tilt your hips upward, silently begging.
and then he begins to move.
slow thrusts, deep and deliberate, grinding his hips into you like he wants to ruin the shape of you from the inside. every motion drags a gasp from your lips, every roll of his pelvis sparks fireworks behind your eyes. your legs wrap around him instinctively, locking him closer, deeper.
he leans down, kissing your throat, your collarbone, your breast — leaving no inch untouched, no breath wasted.
“this body,” he murmurs, voice shaking, “was made for me.”
your head falls back into the pillows as he starts to move faster, needier, but still controlled — a perfect balance of rhythm and wreckage. his hands roam your body, sliding from your waist to your thighs to your throat, where his fingers hover, barely touching.
his eyes find yours again.
“say it,” he whispers, “say you missed this.”
you gasp as his hips snap into yours.
“say it.”
“i—” your voice is breathless, strangled, trembling, “i missed it. i missed you.”
a growl tears from his chest — something unholy and primal — and he presses into you harder now, the bed shifting with each thrust. the sound of skin meeting skin fills the space between whispered curses and muffled moans. he bites your shoulder, not enough to mark, just enough to make you feel it. to make it real.
your body arches into him, chasing release, needing it like air. his thumb finds your clit, circling tight, perfect, relentless — and your body begins to tremble, the pressure building again, this time more dangerous, more consuming.
“you gonna cum for me again?” he pants, voice thick with praise. “look at me. i want to see you fall apart.”
your eyes meet his, and that’s all it takes.
your orgasm rips through you like a wave crashing through glass — sharp, overwhelming, beautiful in its destruction. you cry out, body convulsing around him, and jinu doesn’t stop — he fucks you through it, chasing his own high as your name stumbles off his lips like a prayer.
he cums with a low groan and his eyes glowing with a vibrant golden hue, spilling into you as he buries himself deep, hips stuttering against yours. his body collapses over you, breath hot in your ear, hands cradling your face like you’re something holy.
for a moment, the room is nothing but sound — your heartbeats, your breathing, the echo of everything you shouldn’t have done and can’t stop doing.
his lips press to your cheek.
“you feel like home,” he whispers.
and that’s the most dangerous thing of all.

Yandere! Saja Boys x Reader
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
Tumblr media
Accept it. Accept it. Accept....it??
Accept their feelings for you?? But you didn't know how. Did they demand you to reciprocate or merely stop resisting their feelings? You didn't even know WHAT feelings they meant, either.
Did they really like you?? Five of them? Five men, no, demons? That was ridiculous. They must not know what temporary attraction is. Thats why they keep driving you crazy and telling you how they'd die and kill for you.
You stumbled now after your side jabbed into a piece of furniture. You were on the run. On the run as in, through their huge ass penthouse, that is.
"Come on, [Y/N]~ The fans want it, so you can't run from ittt~!!" Abby's voice was like the eery hiss of a very beautifully patterned, very poisonous snake in your ear. He was hot on you heels; he didn't even need to try. Infact, you sussed out that you were actually the only one running here. He was about to catch up to you with just his relaxed strides.
You're wondering what's happening right now? A week ago exactly, you'd signed to be their manager. You were allowed back home-- briefly. But then you were thrown into this quick sand-pit of gigs, fan meets, approving merch. Other things that you could have sworn they were able to do themselves.
You spent more time with them that you ever had when they held you captive. You had a feeling they had a part to play in that.
And somewhere along the way, the fans had sussed out a few things. The prime one being how all five of the members looked at you when you weren't looking. That person they all said they already liked?? I wonder who they guessed that out to be.
The members didn't even care. They'd throw their arms around you in public. Fix you with this 'you're making me feel some typa-way' kind of stare while ON CAMERA. Watch you much too intently as your sorted through paperwork during fan meets. Yes, fan meets, as in the one event in which they're supposed to focus full attention on their FANS.
But the worst thing is, you'd expected the fans to do something. To rage. To demand refunds for the lack of attention. And then the Saja Boys would have to fire you and you'd be free. Instead?? You saw comments under the upload of the meet on Youtube.
"Guys GUYS GUYS. The Saja men are hot n all... but hear me out....THEIR MANAGER."
"Omg yea"
"She's clueless man"
"They're S. M. I. T. T. E. N."
"She's adorableee I wanna carry her in my pockettt"
"TAKES CARE OF THEM SO WELL OMG"
Now, there were things online. Fanart. Fanfiction. Direct messages to you, to the members. Asking if you were together. Asking for something you learned as fanservice.
There were shipwars. Now, Jinu had explained this one to you but you still didn't quite get it. Fans... fighting over...who you looked best with?
There were comments that you had to read through in order to delete the hateful ones.
"OH. EM. GEE. [Y/N] and Abby. have y'all SEEN the size difference?? So cute!!!"
"Dumb bitch, [Y/N] X MYSTERY for LIFE have you seen them?? [Y/N] literally has him on an invisible leash!!"
"I don't know, I think I like Jinu and [Y/N]'s love-hate relationship better. Remember when he hugged her and she called him a melonhead?? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ XD,"
"HAHA uncultured swines, y'all ever heard of Baby x [Y/N] x Romance??"
"TRY ME, OT6 FOR THE RUN AHHHHH"
You'd shut down the laptop then. It was too late to delete those either way; the PR manager of their company had already seen.
And decided that they could make some bank off of this. And when a higher-up decides that there's money to be made?? You're delusional if you think you're getting away unscathed.
To top it all off, the Saja Boys were all too happy to encourage this shipping nonsense, too.
So here you were, dashing from the truth. Panting, eyes widened. You kept on looking back. You were going in circles around the huge penthouse complex. Through every single room. By now, you were in a full-on sprint. You looked back. Abby was still right behind you.
And you were so busy looking back, you didn't notice the solid chest that you were about to bash into.
"Don't you know we can teleport? Tsk, tsk, tsk." Jinu tutted with a smile, clawed finger coming under your chin and lifting it so that you looked up at him like an angry albeit guilty child.
Ten minutes later you were pushed into a fancy studio. Tried to slip away, was dragged right back.
The professional photographer hired looks you up and down, chewing his gum obnoxiously loud. He had you figured out in seconds.
"Hmmm, not a normal manager are you? Quite young. Not a bad face. Not bad at all." He paused, regarding your tense shoulders. "Relax yourself hun, you're gonna earn in millions for this."
The first reference pose he showed you already had you rushing for the exit.
"Oh no no no you don't." Jinu smiled, grabbing you by the collar and lifting you right off your feet.
"You're our manager now. Keeping the fans happy is one of your commitments. This is one of your commitments."
So now, you found yourself propped upon Abby's lap. Your feet weren't touching the ground. He'd been grinning like a madman as you struggled to climb into his lap and he'd lifted you up, helping you. Now he was all professional. Arm loosely draped around your waist, leaned back. Staring at the camera with sensuality.
Your arms were twitching around his neck, aching to tear away. under your own biceps, you could feel his own, thrice the size of yours and solid as a rock, flexing.
You only realized now how big he truly was.
While you'd lost weight out of stress, he'd become even more beefy in preparation for the photo shoot.
He could feel you slowly start to tremble. Smiling in pleasure, he leaned in, "Don't worry darling, I won't crush you." He knew you were wary of him in particular due to his physique. Such a caution was...how does he say it... fucking adorable.
"Yeessss...yes yes yess give me all that emotion. The anxiety." Photo dude's eyes swivelled to Abby, "The attraction. [Y/N], don't be shy and lean in a bit closer, will ya babe? It's not everyday you get to sit on the lap of a top idol."
But you didn't want to. The photographer was only doing the top half of your bodies, so it couldn't properly be seen that you were on his fucking lap. Your left leg was subconsciously stretching, trying to reach the ground. How would your boyfriend react to this if he were still alive? Your frown deepened.
While the members leaned into fully assess the photos captured, their eyes sparkling with facination, you hung back, wondering if you could make a break for it now.
The next round was just as if not even more appalling. You were hiccuping, feet tripping and sliding against the floor as you tried to book it to the door. Jinu was smiling happily at the concerned-looking photographer. His large hand held the back of your collar, effectively preventing your escape.
"Sorry, she's very shy."
The photographer tuts, almost pityingly, "Oh, darling darling, we can't have this shyness in the entertainment industry...not if you wanna make the big bucks."
The rest of the member's eyes swivelled and darkened as the man smeared lipstick carefully over your rosebud lips.
While you were still fighting the urge to sprint, he had the audacity to even cheer you on "Don't be shy, get that man!!"
So you walked hesitantly towards Romance, hands shaking in tiny fists. He was leaned back lazily on the red velvet sofa being used. One side of his pretty lips quirked up. Lips that were also painted in that same shade as yours.
He beckoned you with a finger. And when you got barely into arms reach, he reached out and snatched you towards him.
"The whole face, he said, baby." The pinkette man almost snarled into your ear, fine brows furrowed cockily as his small smirk grew into a full on wicked smile.
You winced. Romance didn't hold you still or anything. You had to do it yourself. The handsome pinkette leaned in, cedarwood and rose scent engulfing you. His smirk returns, entertained as he notices your knuckles whitening on the couch fabric, stopping yourself from pulling away.
"We don't got all day." The photographer snarked.
Romance had no qualms of speeding it up. His large hands framed your face. At each peck on your cheek, your nose, your chin and forehead, you winced. You were trying not to struggle. But your legs still squirmed in protest. It was so adorable.
Soon, your face was covered in lipstick prints. Romance's eyes began to glow. He shut it down immediately. His marks. All over your pretty little face Fuck.
Click, click, click.
You tried not to wince at every audible shutter of the camera.
"Oh lord, even I would pay for these. Look at the emotions in his eyes."
When it came your turn, Roman actually had to tighten his hold to stop you from shuffling away, "Keep tryna chicken out, huh? Too bad, you can't because you already signed the contract~" It was rasped in your ear.
You shook off his grip, eyebrows tight in frustration and determination. But it wavered way too easily as one of the boys whistled. Probably Abby. "Come on, sweets!! Just like you did to Jinu that night!!"
The photographer looked at the man with wide eyes then looked back to you. You smiled crookedly, trying to appear innocent. But that wasn't going to get you out of this. Nothing was.
So you shut your eyes, and got to work.
When you opened your eyes, Romance was slumped in your arms. Just like your own, every inch of his face was covered in hot pink lip prints almost matching his hair. Mouth in a blissed-out smile. Face heated. It was like he was on something.
The camera shutter went off, "Excellent," The photographer breathed, eyeing the shots with wonder.
Mystery's reference one had you stumbling. "Is this...really okay to publish to fans??"
"Oh, darling," Photography guy chuckled like he knew something you didn't. But you knew something too; that you didn't fucking want to know what he knew.
So you stood, as they put a fucking collar around Mystery's muscular neck. Put a leash on the collar and tied an intricate knot around your wrist with the end of it.
And while Malak looked thrilled at the idea of being tied to you, you shook your wrist, eyeing the ribbon unaffectionately.
"Woah!" Your finger dug into his back when he delves for your neck. You weren't used to such a sensitive place being touched. Your other hand went to his hair, tightening on his scalp.
"That's it, put those big arms 'round her, champ!! Nuzzle your face in a bit more. Nice and tight now!!"
And oh god, the blue-grey haired boy didn't have to be told twice.
You hadn't thought much about it before. But now they were all pressing into you one after the other and you couldn't help but notice how big they all were. Even Baby, the smallest of them all was much taller than you.
"How much longer?" You couldn't help but mumble now, as you sat leaned back against Baby's chest as per the photographer's instructions. His legs were on either side of you. He'd locked them around you at some point and laughed when you couldn't get free. But he did let go. You still couldn't flee though.
"Trés adorable!! Just like that!! Put your arms around her neck!!" The photographer couldn't even hear you. He was gushing over the sight of you two together. You just didn't understand the appeal.
You actually forced yourself to look at the photos this time. They were aesthetically pleasing to say in the least. Though you didn't like the concept, the photographer had made them into a masterpiece. In some shots Beni looked cocky, smiling at you satisfiedly from the back. In others, he looked at you with this...mix of feelings in his eye.
You looked back at him now and he stared back unwaveringly. His lips didn't turn up into that mean cocky smirk or anything as usual. It was his large eyes that spoke to you instead. Just... pure emotions. Vulnerability. Want. Deprivation. He was spilling himself out to you without even speaking. Without even hesitating.
"Last member, honey. Gee-wizz you must be having the time of your life." Photo guy said jokingly but also seriously you didn't know which it was. You hoped it was joke. You were not having fun.
Especially when Jinu grabbed your shoulders and steered you back to the couch.
You were in shorts. you could feel the taut fabric of his pants as photo dude directed you to put your leg over his. You were told to go closer and you hesitated.
"Come onnnn, you kissed me before without hesitation. You're thinking for this??" This guy had a slap with his name on it lined up if he didn't shut up.
It was the second time photography guy's eyes almost popped out of his skull. You scooted closer to Jinu and quickly said, "Jokes, ahaha. Jinu's really funny off camera." You couldn't help but wince. What a lie. Jinu made you do the opposite of laugh. The amount of times you'd held back tears at the idea of being unable to leave their house, god.
His hand was now on your ankle, caressing. Moving up further. Photo guy was drinking this up. "Juuust like that. Keep looking at her like that."
He wouldn't say much about your emotions. Probably because he could read out clearly how badly you wanted to leave from here. You were sick of being surrounded by these male demons. But no one would understand.
⌗☾︎ ‧₊˚ ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶⋅₊˚☽︎⌗
It was almost as if they knew how badly they'd pushed you the last day. Today, you were allowed home while the editors did their work on the shots and the bodyguards alone escorted the boys to their gig.
And it was almost as if your body knew how fucking mentally drained you were. The next minute you got home, you were out cold in your own sweet, sweet bed.
Now, 2pm the next day and you were still dead to the world. Your small form submerged in the sheets. Not silken soft ones from the penthouse, but your own. Mediocre cotton with coffee stains. You were in heaven; a dreamless sleep like no other.
You weren't on alert. You were safe in your own home. Your own personal space.
You loved your personal space. But guess what? The Saja Boys love your personal space too.
While you were passed out still, your front door opened. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. She doesn't even have an extra lock on the door." The low voice of Jinu buzzed in the background.
Baby Saja was the first to find your curled up form, barely taking up half your bed. And yet so comfortably asleep.
"Damn, she's exhausted."
"We worked her to the bone so that she'd stay," Abby shrugged, huge form leaning upon the door frame with his arms crossed.
Romance narrowed his eyes. Was he jealous of your bed? Maybe. His hand closed around one of the bed posts. He shook it hard. The entire bed shook. Self satisfied he stood up straight. "This beds rickety. Unsafe for her."
They were talking so carelessly loud. Mystery wasn't talking but was creating his own racket as he crawled onto the bed beside you. Feeling the sheets, grimacing in dissaproval when he sees they're not soft and luxurious like theirs. But you weren't stirring.
You were on your stomach, small arms closed around your head pillow as you mushed it up close to your face. It wasn't difficult for the boys to admire you like this.
Leaning in, pecking your face, stroking your hair. Running their hands down the dips and curves of your body through the duvet. Enamoured, they were. Good for you, you didn't wake up and notice.
"Wakey wakey baby~ We got pizza. It's your favourite; BBQ chicken." Jinu smiled, running his hand through your hair. Never had they seen you in such a state of peace and calm and vulnerability. Even when you slept over at theirs, you forever looked high on alert. Eyebrows knitted together, mumbling as if you were attempting to repell these demons even in your sleep.
You stirred, and turned over, still dozing. They watched, calmly. Until Abby, the more thoughtless and callous of them all, scooped up your small form into his arms. He liked having you against his muscles like this. It was a fixation for him at the moment; how pliant and clueless and soft you were between his arms.
It was a small of a thing as an all-too-familiar ghost of breath against your neck that had you jolting awake. You opened your mouth for a curse but your throat was all closed up from sleep.
You scrambled away and sat up, rubbing your eyes. You chose to ignore the way you were woken up, "How do you know my favourite-??"
They exchanged looks. They may or may not have looked under your car seats for takeaway bills and learnt the contents off by heart.
They wanted to tell you, but they shrugged instead. "All humans like pizza. And these just seemed to be popular toppings."
You walked straight past them to the bathroom, yawning as you did so. They sighed in relief. Thank god you were too tired to give them second thoughts. At the same time they wanted your thoughts though. Seconds, thirds, all of them.
You were an angelic little thing. All flushed cheeks and droopy eyes. Voice husky. Unable to even comprehend what they were saying properly because you were too disoriented. It was the first time they got to see what you were really like after an actual deep sleep. You were fucking ethereal.
In a loose knit sweater and the smallest fucking sleep shorts, you were walking sin and had no idea about it.
Mystery smiled, ringed fingers stroking against the coarse fabric of your pillow. It was an immense joy that filled him as he watched you obliviously walk into the bathroom. He was about to make good on your promise to him.

She's the Only One Who Gets Him - MV1
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Everyone always assumed Max Verstappen didn't give a fuck. About manners. About people. About press. About anything outside of lap times and championship points.
He snapped at engineers. He rolled his eyes during meetings. He barely looked up from his phone in hospitality unless someone said something directly to him — and even then, you had to be lucky. He hated unnecessary conversations, small talk, PR events, waiting around, and especially being told what to do.
So it was deeply confusing to every single person in the paddock when he showed up to the garage on Saturday morning holding your hand.
Because you looked like shit. Pale. Wrapped in a hoodie three sizes too big. Sniffling. Hood up. Eyes puffy from barely sleeping. The kind of mess you normally wouldn't dare show in a paddock full of cameras and chaos.
But Max didn't care. In fact, Max didn't let go of you for even a second. He brought you into the Red Bull motorhome with a grip on your waist and his free hand full of tissues and a water bottle. He kissed your forehead in front of two mechanics and did not flinch when they double-taked.
"Are you okay?" one of them asked cautiously, like maybe Max had been body-snatched.
"She's sick," Max said. "No one touches her. No one bothers her. No media. I'll kill you."
"...Right. Got it."
You laughed weakly into his chest. Max looked down at you and his entire face softened. Like night and day. His thumb came up to wipe under your nose without a second thought. It was unsettling. Everyone was staring. He didn't care.
When Christian walked past and did a double take at the sight of you curled up on the couch in Max's driver's room, blanket over your legs, Max crouched in front of you helping open a packet of paracetamol, he blinked like he'd walked into the wrong fucking dimension. "Max?" he said slowly. "Everything alright?"
"She has a fever," Max said, not even turning around. "Don't let the cameras in here."
Christian blinked. "Right. Sure."
Max popped the pills into your hand and held the water for you like he didn't trust you to lift it yourself. You drank. He brushed your hair back. Kissed the top of your head. Sat next to you and pulled your legs over his lap, wrapping one arm around your shoulders and muttering something in Dutch under his breath. "You don't have to baby me," you mumbled.
"Ja, I do," he said without hesitation. "You're my baby."
You groaned into his hoodie. "Shut up," you muttered.
"You shut up," he said, pulling the blanket higher around your shoulders.
It got worse from there. At least, for the people watching.
During FP3, when you insisted you could sit in the garage chair for a little while, Max walked you there himself. Carried your tea. Moved the headset off the hook and adjusted it onto your ears with both hands like you were a goddamn glass sculpture.
When the cameras pointed at him, he shielded your face with his shoulder. When Lando walked over to ask if you were alright, Max stepped in front of you. "She's fine," he said, calm but firm. "Don't make her talk."
Lando's eyebrows practically flew off his face. "Okay, Jesus."
"She needs rest," Max added. "Not your voice."
Lando gave you a little wave and disappeared. Max sat beside you, arms crossed, murder in his eyes for anyone who came near.
Pierre passed by ten minutes later and nearly tripped over himself doing a double take. "Bro," he muttered to no one. "Who is that? And what did she do to him?"
Someone in the media pen whispered, "I thought he didn't have a girlfriend?"
Max wiped your nose again mid-whisper. He didn't even blink when a team photographer caught it on camera. By midday, it was full paddock knowledge:
"Max Verstappen is in love." "And apparently he turns into a functioning human being when she's around." "No but like... he smiled. He kissed her nose." "She was wearing his socks. They were falling off her feet and he fixed them for her." "This is not the Max I know. Who is she??"
You were still curled up in the motorhome when Lewis popped his head into the door. "Max?" he said, blinking. "You in here?"
Max looked up from where he was running a hand down your calf, legs tangled on the little leather couch.
Lewis saw you and paused. "...Oh," he said. "Sorry. I didn't know you were-"
"She's sick," Max said. "You can come in if you're quiet."
You peeked out from the blanket. "Hi, Lewis."
"Hi, love," Lewis said, stunned. "You okay?"
"She has a fever," Max repeated. "But she's getting better."
Lewis blinked again. Then slowly smiled. "You're taking good care of her."
Max shrugged like it was obvious. "She takes care of me."
Lewis's entire brain short-circuited. After that, the grid was never the same.
Because once you've seen Max Verstappen spoon-feeding his feverish girlfriend soup in the Red Bull motorhome, patting her knee and whispering, "Almost done, baby, then you can sleep," into her hair, the image does not leave you. And once you've seen him fall asleep with his arms around her, forehead pressed to hers, heat pack resting on her stomach, you can't pretend he's just an unfeeling bastard anymore.
He still yelled on the radio. He still snapped at journalists. He still hated being told to smile.
But when you were around? He opened her doors. Carried her bags. Tied her shoes. Kissed her forehead like it was instinct. And god help you if you ever made her cry.
Because Max Verstappen might not be soft to anyone else. But for you? He always was. And everyone in the paddock knew it now.

I absolutely LOVED your Saja boys x assistant for your writing is honestly amazing 🙏
Sooo I wanted to know if I can ask for another one 🙏
If you don't mind can you do a scenario or story (not actually sure what it's called) for kpop demon hunters, the Saja boys when your secretly dating one of their members like Abby or Romance or baby (you can pick, or do 2 or both of them) and your apart of Huntrix and they find out and their reaction isn't good.
THANK YOU 🤍💜
HUNTR/X FINDING OUT YOU’RE DATING A SAJA BOY
cw: mentions of sex and rewinds of sex so we can technically say nsfw, secret relationships, arguments, cursing—and tell me if I missed something
PLOT: Three hunters? History says four! At least in this universe it sure does, because you’re a member of HUNTR/X, a beautiful sweetheart, the dream girl actually. That’s the exact reason a Saja Boy had interest in you. And that Saja Boy is…
JINU
It started like a joke. Like the dumb kind of thing you whisper to yourself when you’re three drinks deep after a long night of demon slaying, bruised, blood-splattered, and sore in all the wrong places, “Wouldn’t it be so stupid if I let that cocky little shit Jinu kiss me?”
Except you did. And you let him do a lot more than that.
You know damn well this is wrong.
You’re supposed to hate the Saja Boys.
But then there’s Jinu.
Oh, Jinu.
You know better. You do. But you also know how he kissed you the first time, like he was starving for it, like he’d been thinking about it for weeks, that you’ve been driving him crazy.
Every time you sneak off, telling Mira you’ve got to “clear your head”, lying to Zoey about meeting friends, making up some bullshit mission Rumi would definitely sniff out if she wasn’t so busy being ten times the badass you pretend to be, you end up in Jinu’s room. Usually on his lap. Sometimes against a wall. Once in the backseat of a staff car, which, honestly, was way too cramped for the kind of shit he wanted to try. (But did you complain? No. You just bit his shoulder to muffle the sounds.)
You keep saying it’ll be the last time. Every single time, you tell yourself:
This is it. I’m cutting it off. I shouldn’t be doing this. He’s a demon. I’ll kill him when we’re done.
And every single time, you end up under him again, hips rolling, nails dragging down his back while he whispers filth.
You shouldn’t be doing this. Every second with him is a risk. If Zoey finds out? She’ll be furious. If Rumi finds out? You’re dead. If Mira finds out? You might wish you were.
But fuck… it feels good to be wanted like that.
So no. You’re not telling the girls. Not yet. Maybe not ever.
Because that boy is a demon, still.
You can see it in the yellow flickers in his eyes when too much happens to his body. The way his voice changes when he’s angry, the shadow under his skin when his temper spikes, like there’s something inside him, snarling.
Because there is. Gwi-Ma.
You hate that freak. You really, truly do.
He’s not always loud, but when he is, you feel so bad for Jinu.
Sometimes, you’ll catch Jinu zoning out—just for a second—and when he blinks back into himself, there’s this… weight. A bitter taste in the air. You know it’s Gwi-Ma.
You’ll be tangled in Jinu’s sheets, your mouth on his throat, your nails digging into his ribs while he gasps, and then suddenly he’ll choke out a laugh. You’ll ask, “What?” thinking you did something good, and he’ll groan, cover his face and mutter, “Ignore him.”
Like??? Fuck off, Gwi-Ma. (He also once called you “delicious,” which Jinu immediately apologized for by dropping to his knees and staying there for a long time. It helped.)
There was also that one time you were straddling Jinu on the couch in his dressing room, and he went real still, eyes distant, and then just groaned, “Shut the fuck up.” into your neck.
But here’s the thing. Gwi-Ma’s always there—always. Jinu can’t shake him, can’t silence him, not completely. And yet… you don’t feel the urge to pull a blade on him. Not like you would with anything else that dark and dangerous.
You should. You know that. Every instinct in your hunter-trained, scar-hardened body should scream put it down before it turns on you.
But you don’t.
Because the truth is? The demon’s a parasite. But Jinu? Jinu’s not the demon. He’s the boy fighting it. Every single day. You see it when his eyes flash for just a second and he has to swallow it down. You see it in the way he looks at you, like he’s scared you’ll see it, too. The rot inside. The crack in the mirror.
But you already do.
And you love him anyway.
No, wait, you didn’t mean to say that. Not even in your own head. But it’s out here now.
You love him.
He hasn’t said it. Not out loud. But you know. You know by the way he touches you when he thinks you’re asleep. Soft fingertips, trailing your spine, memorizing the shape of you. You know by how he always lets you go first when you argue, even if he hates it. By the way he flinches when you joke about your death like it’s just another occupational hazard.
And sometimes? When you least expect it, he says shit that almost counts.
Like, “I’d burn the world down if anything happened to you.”
Or, “I like who I am when I’m around you. I don’t hear him as much when you’re close.”
And maybe that’s what really fucks you up.
You thought you were just in it for the heat. For the adrenaline. For the sex and the secrecy and the thrill of knowing you were doing something very bad with someone very pretty.
But now? You’re in deeper.
Worse, so is he.
You’re full on dating. Dating dating.
You should be enemies.
Instead, you’re in his bed.
Heart beating fast.
Shirt already half-off.
And he’s looking at you like you’re the last light he can still see in the dark.
You don’t trust this.
You don’t trust yourself.
But when he kisses you, slow and scared and wanting, the demon in him quiet for just a second?
You let him have you.
Again.
And again.
And again.
You also like the tiger. Or cat. Or tiger-cat. Whatever. You still don’t even know what to call it.
You remember the first time you saw it, you thought it was some kind of hellbeast and went for your blade, and Jinu was like, “Waitwaitwait, he’s chill.”
And now? You’ll be at Jinu’s place, half-naked, trying to sneak in a post-mission quickie, and suddenly there’s a 600-pound animal flopping on your legs like it’s a house cat.
Like, sir. Please.
Your vibe is adorable but your mass is inconvenient.
It loves to curl around the both of you like some kind of living, purring barrier. It’d be cozy if it didn’t also come with the crushing weight of “You move, you die.”
And then there’s the crow that hates everyone. Except Jinu. And sometimes, very begrudgingly, you. But only if you bring food. Or if you’re crying, which you hate that he knows. The crow is weirdly intelligent like that.
Sometimes he lands on your shoulder and just sits there while you and Jinu are talking. Doesn’t move. Doesn’t squawk. Just watches. It’s unsettling, but Jinu swears it’s a sign of affection. (You’re not totally convinced it’s not reconnaissance.)
Then, you got caught, babe.
Now, you’re wearing a little shirt that barely reaches your navel and a little black thong. You’re barefoot on your balcony, one hand resting on the railing, the other clutching a soda you don’t even really want. Your legs are sore, your back hurts, your lip’s still split from earlier, and the last thing you need is—
“Hey, sweetheart.”
You jolt. Turn.
“What the fuck, Jinu?” you hiss, slamming your soda down and rushing to him. “What are you—how did you even get up here?!”
He’s grinning. Soft, smug, absolutely useless in his very kissable way.
“Teleported.” he says. “Don’t act like you’re not impressed.”
“Jinu. They’re home.”
“And?”
He says it so easy. So breezy. Like your heart isn’t trying to hammer through your ribs. You grab him by the arm and drag him fully onto the balcony, pressing him into the wall so he’s out of sight from the windows. Your face is close to his now, too close.
His eyes flick down your body, lazy but appreciative. “You’re not exactly dressed for company.”
You slap his chest. “Don’t make me push you off this building.”
“Wouldn’t be the worst way to die.”
You roll your eyes, but you don’t move away. Your hand’s still on his chest, and he’s warm under your palm. Steady. Calm. Like nothing can touch him, not even the hurricane that’s about to slam into your life when this secret finally gets out.
“You’re insane for coming here.” you murmur, quieter now. “What if they see you?”
“I missed you.”
That’s it. No drama. No poetic nonsense. Just those three words, spoken so plainly you feel the ground shift under you.
You swallow. Your throat’s dry. Your hand drifts up, fingers brushing the curve of his jaw. “You couldn’t just text? Send a letter with your cat?”
“I needed to see you.”
He leans in, just a little, and you follow because of course you do. His lips brush yours once, just a ghost of a kiss, and it’s enough to turn your knees to—
Gasp.
You freeze.
The sound comes from inside the room.
Both of you turn your heads just in time to see the door swing open, Zoey standing there, eyes wide, mouth fully agape.
“…oh my god.” she breathes.
Then the door slams shut again.
“Oh my god.” you echo, gripping the balcony railing like it’s going to save your soul. “Oh my god. Jinu. She saw you. She saw us.”
“She didn’t knock.” Jinu says, baffled.
“WHY WOULD SHE KNOCK? IT’S MY ROOM.”
You whirl on him, panic spiking like adrenaline in your veins. Your whole face is on fire. Your body’s moving already, ushering him toward the edge of the balcony, trying to think, to fix, to stop the bleeding of this moment from leaking into the rest of your life.
“She’s going to tell Rumi. Mira. Bobby. She’s going to tell everyone. Oh my god.”
“Okay.” Jinu says, still infuriatingly relaxed. “And?”
“And?!”
He’s smiling again, like this is funny, like you’re just being dramatic. He has no idea how bad this is. You shove him toward the railing with a hand to the back of his head, not hard, just enough to make him stumble.
“Go.” you hiss. “Go, now. I’ll fix it.”
“You’re gonna ‘fix’ getting caught half naked with me on your balcony?” he laughs, holding the ledge like he’s deciding whether to leap or wait for you to calm down.
You swat the back of his head again.
He laughs harder.
And somehow… somehow, that helps.
Because he’s not scared. He’s not shaking like you are, imagining Rumi’s furious stare or Mira’s disappointment or Zoey’s lethal level gossip abilities. He’s just… there. Present. Unbothered.
You exhale hard. Press your forehead to his chest for just a second. He lets you. His hands come up, hold your waist gently, swaying with you.
“Go.” you whisper again. “Please.”
He nods. Serious now. The playfulness fades, just a little. He cups your cheek, presses one last kiss to your lips, then steps back over the balcony’s edge.
And disappears.
You’re left standing there. Heart racing. Lips tingling. Whole body humming like you’ve been plugged into an outlet.
Inside, you hear footsteps.
Voices.
Loud ones.
Zoey’s already telling them.
“Shit.” you breathe, dragging a hand through your hair. “Shit shit shit.”
But even with the panic creeping up again, you can’t stop the small, ridiculous smile that curls onto your face.
Because that dumb, beautiful demon boy came here just to see you.
You don’t even bother throwing on shorts. Just storm out of your room in the tiny shirt and thong you were already wearing, not because you’re trying to prove a point, but because fuck it, the point already proved itself.
You race down the hallway, barefoot, still breathless from the sheer velocity of your panic. The walls feel like they’re closing in with every step. And as you reach the living room, it’s quiet.
Too quiet.
Zoey’s perched on the arm of the couch. Her popcorn is real. You knew she’d have popcorn.
Mira’s sitting, arms crossed over her chest, legs crossed. Her expression isn’t angry. Not yet. Worse, it’s disappointed.
Rumi’s standing. Her arms are crossed too, and her face is blank in that terrifying way that says: I haven’t decided whether to scream or murder someone.
You stop cold in the doorway.
“…hi.”
No one answers.
You laugh. Short. Nervous. “Okay. So. Surprise?”
Zoey makes a sound, somewhere between a gasp and a cackle. “Surprise? GIRL.”
Rumi’s voice cuts through, quiet and sharp. “Sit down.”
You glance around. “I’m, uh, I’m not really dressed for a—”
“SIT.”
You sit.
“Zoey saw Jinu.” Mira says, voice like ice water down your back. “On your balcony. With you. And not in a friendly way.”
“Wasn’t a kiss on the cheek, hun.” Zoey adds, tossing popcorn in her mouth.
“Zoey.” Rumi scolds gently.
Zoey zips it. Barely. She’s vibrating with drama high. Her foot’s tapping. She’s dying to see how this plays out.
Mira leans forward. “How long.”
You blink. “What?”
Mira’s eyes are lasers. “How. Long. Has this been going on.”
You swallow. “…A while.”
“A while?” Rumi explodes, stepping forward. “Define ‘a while,’ because ‘a while’ sounds like weeks, and if this has been going on while we were out risking our asses, while we were fighting off demons and you were texting your little boyfriend under the table, I need to know that before I go to prison for launching a sword through the next Saja concert.”
You flinch. “Okay, whoa, let’s not—”
“WAS HE AT THE CEMETERY FIGHT?” Zoey blurts, her eyes wide. “Because you said you were on break that day and he was also conveniently there! Oh my god—were you hooking up behind the mausoleum while I was getting bit by that demon?”
“That was one time.” you snap.
“You just admitted it!” Zoey screams, victorious.
“Okay, enough.” Rumi says, holding up a hand. She turns back to you. “Is it serious?”
And you freeze.
Because there’s the real question.
They’re not just mad about the secret. They’re mad because they know what this means. You don’t sneak around for fun. You lie to protect. So if you were protecting him…
Then you weren’t protecting them.
“I care about him.” you say softly. “It wasn’t just sex. It isn’t. He’s not—”
“He’s a demon.” Mira says, flat. Cold. “End of sentence.”
“He’s not—” you start, then stop. Because okay. Yes. He is. But not the way they mean. “There’s something inside him, yes. Gwi-Ma. But Jinu’s fighting it. Every day. He’s—he’s not evil. He’s not one of the monsters we hunt.”
“And what if he loses that fight?” Rumi asks, quiet again. “What if the thing inside him gets stronger? What if you become the liability?”
Your throat closes. Because that’s the worst part, you’ve already thought about all of that. And it still wasn’t enough to stop you.
“I know what I’m doing.” you whisper. “I know.”
“Do you?” Rumi growls. “Because it looks like you’re playing house with a demon.”
“Rumi, stop—”
“No. You lied to us.”
“I didn’t mean to—”
“You chose him.”
Yeah. You did. Over and over again. Every night you crept out, every time you let him touch you, every second you looked at his face and thought, maybe this could last, you were choosing him.
Even if it meant eventually losing them.
“I didn’t want to hurt you.” you say, finally.
“Too late.” Mira mutters.
“Wait.” Zoey says. “Did you say Gwi-Ma? Like the actual Gwi-Ma?”
“Yeah.” you sigh, rubbing your eyes. “Lives in his head. Won’t shut up. Kind of an asshole.”
Everyone’s silent again.
And then, Zoey: “…Does he also do the tongue thing when he kisses you? Like he looks like he does the tongue thing.”
You close your eyes. “Zoey.”
Rumi sighs. Mira pinches the bridge of her nose. And slowly, slowly, the tension in the room starts to loosen. Not dissolve. Not disappear. But… loosen. There’s still tension in the air. Still betrayal.
“You know we’re supposed to kill them. Right?” Rumi says, loud and clear so you hear it.
You have heard it. You’ve heard it a hundred times. In debriefs, in Zoey’s snide jokes, in the way Mira files her knives after watching Saja Boys interviews with a dead stare. You’ve said it yourself. Weeks ago.
You knew what they were. You knew they weren’t human. And your girls have been tracking, prepping, moving toward this for weeks.
And meanwhile?
You’ve been sleeping with the mark.
“I know.” you say, barely above a whisper.
“You knew.” Mira corrects, her voice a blade.
“I know.” you repeat, louder now. “And I didn’t—I didn’t plan for this. It wasn’t some operation gone rogue. It wasn’t a trick. It just—”
“You tripped and fell onto his dick, huh?” Zoey says, sharp and bitter.
You shut your eyes. “Zoey, not now.”
“No, I really wanna know.” she goes on. “Did you just accidentally fall in love with a guy who’s literally got a demon whispering murder in his ear while we’ve been training to put his head on a spike? Because that’s wild.”
“What was your plan?” Rumi asks, not looking at you. “What was the endgame here? That we’d kill his bandmates but leave him alone because you like his face?”
“No.” you snap, the sharpness surprising even you. “God, no. You think I don’t know how this looks? You think I haven’t been ripping myself apart every night over this? I know what we’re doing. I know what he is. But you don’t know him. Not like I do.”
“Enlighten us.” Mira says, icily. “Please.”
You blink fast, trying to push the burn out of your eyes. You weren’t gonna cry, you swore you wouldn’t, but the pressure’s building.
Silence.
Rumi closes her eyes like she’s trying not to hit something. Mira sits back. Her face has gone to that scary-silent-assassin look that means her brain is moving three steps ahead of everyone else. Finally, she says: “So when it’s time to take them out… what happens then?”
You stare at her. You hate how cold she sounds. You hate how reasonable it is.
Because that is the question, isn’t it?
What do you do when it’s your sword, and his neck, and no one else to make the call but you?
“I don’t know.” you admit, soft. “I don’t know yet.”
“That’s not good enough.” Rumi says, voice rising. “You’re not just putting yourself at risk. You’re putting us at risk. What if he turns on us mid-mission? What if he uses you to get ahead of us? What if this whole time—”
“He wouldn’t.” you say quickly. “He wouldn’t hurt me. He wouldn’t hurt any of you.”
“You can’t know that.” Mira says.
“I do.”
And you do. Deep down. Where all the fear and doubt and guilt live, even under all of that, you know.
He wouldn’t let them touch you.
And he wouldn’t touch them.
Not unless they tried to kill him.
Which they… will.
Soon.
Zoey stands again and walks across the room, pacing now. “So what, we’re just supposed to ignore this? Let you keep cuddling up with your demon boyfriend while we finish the job?”
“No.” you say. “I get it. I’m not asking you to trust him. I’m not even asking you to like me right now. I just… I just need you to understand. I’m not choosing sides. I’m choosing truth. Jinu’s not a monster. Not yet. And I don’t think he ever will be.”
There’s a pause. Heavy. Uncomfortable.
Then, softly, Mira asks: “But what if you’re wrong?”
You look at her. Look at all of them.
And you don’t have an answer.
ABBY
Look. You’re supposed to kill him. Let’s be very clear about that. The Saja Boys are your target. You’ve watched them on stage, off-stage.
The first time you saw him, shirtless and grinning, was some training clip Rumi pulled up on the mission table, purely for recon (allegedly), and even then, you felt your spine short-circuit.
He looked like a human weapon.
Except he wasn’t human.
And you weren’t supposed to want the weapon.
But, you know. Whoops.
He’s huge (like, throw-you-around-the-room, bench-press-you-during-foreplay huge). Arms like steel, voice like “what’s up, babe?” and a smile so cocky it should be registered as an actual threat.
You hated him at first.
You hated him… until you didn’t.
Until one night after a bad mission, your ribs aching, pride worse, your blood still up and nothing in the world feeling good. And then you saw him. Leaning against a wall, flexing like he didn’t know he was doing it and voice dropping into that stupid low register like, “Hey. You okay?”
Game over.
Brain fried.
Panties? Gone.
And then, somehow, you were... kissing. In a stairwell. Covered in blood. Your blood. His blood. Something's blood. Messy. Wrong. And absolutely addictive.
Now it’s… a thing. A secret thing.
Because Abby? He makes you laugh, first of all. He says dumb shit in bed. He says dumb shit all the time. And he’s so proud of it.
And yeah. He’s a demon. You see it. He doesn’t even hide it.
There’s something in him that pulses dark. Wild. Primal. The heat in his body burns wrong sometimes. The shadows cling to him longer than they should. And there are moments, fleeting but undeniable, where he looks at you like he wants to eat you.
Not in the fun way. (Though, to be clear, he definitely wants that too.)
But in the demonic, soul-thirsty kind of way.
And yet. Somehow. You’re not afraid of it. You should be. You’re trained to be. You’ve put down lesser demons without blinking. You know what he is. But something in you doesn’t flinch.
Because under all of that darkness… you know he likes you.
He really, actually likes you. In his dumbass, show-off way.
The first time he said it, he was inside you—of course he was—panting, all flushed and cocky, and he muttered, “shit, I like you too much.” Then he tried to play it off with a kiss to your neck, followed by something heinous you don’t even remember, too busy feeling all of him.
You laughed. And then whispered, “me too.”
He knows you’re a hunter. He knows who you are, what you do. But he keeps showing up anyway. Still winks. Still pulls you into dark corners and picks you up like you weigh nothing. Still teases you like none of this is real.
He trusts you. And that terrifies you more than anything.
Because when the time comes…
When the blades are drawn…
He’s not going to fight you.
And you don’t know what you’re going to do when that moment comes.
But for now? You let him pin you to the wall and mutter, “what, you gonna slay me, hunter?” against your jaw.
Because the worst part isn’t that you’re supposed to kill him.
It’s that a small, aching part of you knows you won’t.
He does shit like carrying your bag when it’s heavy, but doesn’t make it weird. He just grabs it and then slings it over those stupid big shoulders like it weighs nothing. Flexes a little, maybe, but you let him. You even look on purpose. He likes it.
He memorizes what you order from that little noodle shop you go to after late-night sweeps. The first time he brought it to you unasked, still hot, you didn’t even know what to say. He just handed it over with a lopsided grin and went, “See? I got a brain in here.” and then tapped his temple with the chopsticks he’d stolen from the shop.
He warms his hands before touching your face. Doesn’t even think about it. Just always runs them over his neck or into his sleeves first, and then cups your cheeks.
And then there's how he watches you. Not like prey. Not like the demon in him is looking for an opening. But like... you're the funniest, hottest, most precious thing in his world and he can't believe you're even talking to him, let alone letting him see you naked on the regular.
And oh my god, he tied your shoe once. One time. You’re mid-arguing, mid-huffing about something completely irrelevant, and this man bends down, wraps those huge hands around your ankle, ties your shoe with all the careful attention of someone untangling a bomb, then slaps your thigh and stands up.
You were silent for, like, ten minutes.
You hate how much you like it. Hate it. Hate it.
But not enough to stop.
Not when he’s currently got you pressed up against cold tile, his breath warm against your throat, your thigh hiked high around his hip in the almost empty bathhouse the three of you ducked into after a hunt.
You don’t even know how it happened.
One minute, you were soaking in the women’s bathhouse while Mira and Zoey argued over whose blade got the final hit, and the next, you were in the showers and Abby was there. Shirtless. He must’ve snuck in through the back.
You didn’t even try to stop him. You should’ve.
But he’d walked up to you, dripping from a quick rinse-off, and grinned. “Damn. You clean up nice.”
And that was it. That was the moment your common sense packed her bags and left.
Now? Now you’re sandwiched between Abby and the cold wall of the bathhouse’s back corridor. Your towel’s half off, your thigh’s fully up, and Abby’s mouthing your neck like this isn’t a public facility.
“Abby.” you whisper, half-laughing, half-moaning, trying to push him back even though you’re very much not trying that hard. “They’re still here. They could come back any second.”
He just kisses lower. “Then we better make it fast, huh?”
“You’re the one taking your damn time.” you snap, trying not to laugh, and he grins against your skin.
“What can I say?” he murmurs. “My girl’s distracting.”
You shove his chest. It’s like trying to move a wall of warm concrete. “I swear, if they catch us—”
Footsteps.
Voices.
You both freeze.
You don’t see them at first. But you hear them. Zoey’s laughing about something and Mira’s voice is lower, casual, annoyed maybe, like she’s mid-eye roll. They’re just coming back from the sauna. They’ll be rounding this corridor in seconds.
You shove at Abby, harder. “Go. Go now.”
But he’s LAUGHING. The fuckass is laughing, muffling it behind that dumb smug smirk like this is the funniest shit ever.
You smack the back of his head, panicked. “Are you trying to get me killed?!”
He grins harder. “If we die like this, honestly? Worth it.”
“Abby!”
Zoey’s voice: “Wait… why’s the floor wet back here? Was someone—”
She turns the corner.
She sees you.
Sees him.
Sees you, basically naked, thigh still up, Abby shirtless and pressed into you, steam rising off both of you.
Zoey screams.
Mira slams in behind her a half-second later, silent, deadly, her eyes going wide.
Abby, still shirtless, just waves. “Hey.”
You are going to die.
“YOU.” Zoey shrieks, pointing. “ARE YOU INSANE?!”
Mira? Mira’s face is stone. Pissed. Her arms are folded. Her jaw is clenched. And she’s staring directly at Abby’s glistening chest.
You, meanwhile, are red. Not pink. Not flushed. Red. Half-wrapped in a towel. Half-tangled in him. All of you exposed, literally and emotionally, in the worst way possible. You’ve barely had time to stumble back and yank your towel up around your chest when he decides to speak.
“Yo.” Abby says with the most unbothered, dumbass charm in the world. “Heeeeeeey girls.”
He actually lifts a hand. Like he didn’t just get caught shoving his demon tongue down your throat in a public women’s bathhouse.
Zoey looks like she’s about to scream a second time. Possibly kill you. Possibly him first.
And what does this stupid man say next?
“You know what,” he continues, glancing between them and then at you. “I feel like… you guys got some things to work out. Real important girl talk. Imma… just.” He gestures vaguely toward the exit, completely unapologetic. “Slide out. Give you all some space. Respectfully.”
You gape. “Abby—”
He turns, halfway out the door, then glances back at you, slow, like he’s throwing a whole-ass grenade at your friendship. And then, he calls:
“Catch you later, babe.”
Babe.
In front of them.
AND THEN THE BASTARD WINKS.
Winks, flexes without flexing, and vanishes.
You are.
So.
Fucked.
You’re clutching your towel to your chest, dripping water, heart hammering so loud it might as well be a war drum. Your mouth opens. Closes. Opens again. No words. Just a stupid, guilty sound like, “Uh—”
“How long.” Mira says, deadly quiet,
You blink. “I—”
“HOW LONG?!” Zoey practically screams, her arms thrown up like she might start flinging bath sandals at you. “You’ve been sneaking off to tongue wrestle with a Saja Boy?!”
“It’s not like that—”
“Oh, it’s not?” she snaps. “Because from where I was standing? It looked exactly like that. Unless ‘chest licking in a sacred women’s bathhouse’ means something different in demon-speak.”
“Zoey.” Mira says again, voice low. “Let her talk.”
“Why?! So she can lie again?”
You feel it. The shame. The guilt. The sting of it.
Because you didn’t tell them. Not when you should’ve. Not when it started. Not after the first time. Not after the sixth. Not even after you knew it was something real, something that wasn’t going to just go away if you pretended hard enough. You stayed quiet. Let them think you were just normal. Still loyal. Still on-mission.
But you weren’t. You’d fallen into bed with the enemy, and now it’s your best friends staring at you like you’re the monster.
“Okay.” you say, quietly. “Okay. Look.” You take a breath. It comes out shaky. “Yes. It’s been going on. And yes. I know how it looks.”
“You lied to us.”
“I didn’t lie—”
“Bullshit.” Zoey hisses. “You snuck around behind our backs with the very thing we’ve sworn to eliminate. You let one of them turn you into his little secret side piece—”
“Stop.” you snap, louder than you meant to. “Don’t talk about me like that.”
Silence again.
“I’m not a side piece.” you say, quieter. “And he’s not just… whatever you think he is.”
Zoey’s expression warps into something like heartbreak. “You’re in love with him.”
You look away.
“Oh my god.” She covers her face.
“I didn’t plan for this.” you try, pleading now. “It just—it happened. And I know it’s wrong. I know what he is. But I also know what he’s not. He’s not—” You gesture weakly toward the steam he vanished into. “He’s not hurting people. Not the way we thought.”
Mira steps forward, eyes sharp. “And what happens when he does? When we take him out? What then?”
You swallow. You don’t answer. Because you don’t know. And they see that.
After the bathhouse blowout, the tension clung to your skin worse than the towel.
Mira and Zoey walked ahead of you the whole way home, Mira silent, Zoey muttering to herself in rage, still trying to process the abomination of seeing you with Abby’s abs all up in your personal space. You trailed behind, wrapped in shame, hair dripping, stomach doing flips that had nothing to do with guilt and everything to do with impending doom.
“Let me tell her.” you said, the second the elevator doors opened to the penthouse. “Let me tell Rumi myself.”
Mira turned to you, her jaw clenched. “You sure?”
“No.” you said. “But I’m going to.”
They just exchanged a look, silent agreement, and then headed to the kitchen like they weren’t absolutely going to lurk by the hallway to hear every single word.
You find Rumi in her room. She’s standing by the window. You almost leave. Almost. But then she turns. “You need something?”
Your throat closes.
Yeah. Just your life exploding.
“Can I talk to you?” you ask, voice trembling. “It’s… personal.”
She gestures toward the chair. You don’t sit. You can’t. You’re vibrating with nerves, practically bouncing out of your skin. You pace instead, like if you move enough, the words will come easier. They don’t.
“Okay, so—so.” you start, hands waving like you’re trying to draw the sentence into existence. “So, you’re gonna be mad. Just—please, can you let me finish first before you say anything? Just let me get it out all at once, because if I stop, I won’t say it, and I have to say it because it’s already—happened, and Zoey and Mira know, and you’re going to find out anyway, and I need it to come from me.”
Rumi’s arms cross slowly. “You’re stalling.”
“I’m dating Abby.” you blurt.
Silence.
You say it again, just to fill the space. “I’m dating Abby. From Saja. The one with the abs and the arms and the—yeah. Him.”
Still no reaction.
“I didn’t mean for it to happen. It wasn’t, like, some weird betrayal thing. I didn’t go into this planning to screw around with the enemy, I swear. It just—he was there, and he’s funny, and stupid, and sweet, and he’s not like what we thought. And yeah, I know it’s a conflict of interest. I know it’s dangerous, and I know we’re supposed to be hunting them, and it’s all wrong, but it doesn’t feel wrong when I’m with him. It just feels like… mine. Like something I chose. And I’m sorry. I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.”
You finally stop.
You wait.
“…You’re joking.”
Your heart drops. “I’m not.”
You’ve never seen Rumi this mad without even raising her voice.
“You’re sleeping with a demon.” she says, cold. “A Saja Boy. One of the five. Our primary targets.”
You flinch. “It’s not like that—”
“Did he charm you? Manipulate you? Feed off you?”
“No! Rumi, he hasn’t even—he hasn’t taken anything from me.”
“Oh, but he took you, huh?” Her voice cuts like glass. “He gets the girl, the inside scoop, the trust, and we get what? A betrayal?”
You step forward. “I didn’t betray you.”
“You didn’t tell me. You kept it a secret. You let this go on while we’ve been risking our lives—my life—hunting down his kind. You don’t think that’s betrayal?”
You open your mouth. Nothing comes out. Because you did. You did lie. Maybe not in words, but in silence.
“You’ve compromised our entire mission.” she hisses, turning her back on you. “You think this is just about sex or feelings or whatever he gave you to keep you quiet? It’s bigger than that. He’s dangerous. And you let him in.”
“I didn’t let him in.” you snap, suddenly defensive. “He got in because he wanted me. Because he likes me. Because I like him.”
“And when the time comes,” she says, turning back around, eyes locked on yours. “and you have to choose between us and him, what’s your play?”
You’re shaking.
You can’t answer.
And Rumi sees it.
“…Get out.”
“Rumi—”
“Get. Out. Before I say something we both regret.”
You stagger back. One step. Then another.
And as you open the door—Zoey and Mira. Absolutely planted on the other side. Zoey straightens so fast she almost falls into a lamp. Mira just steps back, arms crossed, deadpan. Neither of them says a word.
You don’t say anything either.
You just walk away.
ROMANCE
Ohhh baby. You’ve just opened Pandora’s box with Romance.
The first time you and Romance crossed paths just the two of you, it was bloody. And violent. And frankly, stupid hot in hindsight.
You were rooftop hunting, your blade humming with enchanted energy, adrenaline in your teeth. The Saja Boys were slippery—always were—but he showed up like he’d been waiting for you.
You fought.
He was strong, too strong. Slippery. Every move came with a smirk, a breathy compliment, some infuriating “ooh, I like it when you’re rough.” You were sweating, pissed, cornered on the edge of a skylight.
But you didn’t back down.
You clocked him, hard, elbow to the jaw, leg sweep, blade to his throat, and he went down. Fell like a sack of demons with a ridiculous grunt and a flutter of his pretty shirt.
You stood there panting, blade raised.
Victory. Yours.
You even kicked him, toe of your boot to his ribs. “Dead?” you muttered.
He grabbed your ankle, fast as lightning, yanked, and dragged you straight to the ground with him. The breath left your lungs. Your body slammed to his. And suddenly? You were chest-to-chest with him, both breathing hard. His smile was bloody and filthy.
“Now this,” he purred. “is foreplay.”
You tied him up after that. You had to. Found rope in the storage unit of the building, tied his wrists behind his back, looped around the support beam. He didn’t fight it, no, of course not. He just watched you. Smirked. Made comments.
“That grip.” he said. “Ever thought of moonlighting in bondage? You’ve got talent.”
You should’ve killed him. Should’ve. He was just lying there, helpless, caked in blood.
But something in you faltered.
So you left him. Said it was a warning.
Before you left, he looked at you with those bedroom eyes and said, “Next time, bring better rope. You’ll be the one staying.”
And you did.
You came back. In the dead of night, alone.
And he wasn’t tied up anymore.
No, that time you were the one in knots.
Literal ones. Spread out, mouth covered in tape, eyes wide while he knelt between your legs, chin lifted and so fucking pleased with himself.
He whispered things you still feel heat up your spine when you’re alone in the shower.
That was the real beginning.
You’re not blameless. You like it. You like the chase, the secrets, the tension in every stolen second.
Romance doesn’t ask. He offers. He tempts. He brushes his fingers along your collarbone in passing, whispers filth into your ear just to see you shiver. He invites you to meet with him night after night. You go. Every time.
You’d call him a slut, except he only ever wants you.
He’s also attentive. Not the good boy kind, no. He’s too much of a tease for that. But he knows when you’re stressed, when you’re insecure, when you need to be fucked out of your head or just held while he brushes your hair. Super senses like he has do wonders in him getting your little feelings. Romance also has a memory like a thief. Remembers everything you say, down to the way you phrased it.
He’s obsessed with you. Openly.
But he also won’t stop flirting with other people in front of you just to rile you up.
(You’ve slapped him for it. He moaned. It didn’t help.)
He knows exactly what you are. A killer. A blade. Something sacred and trained and dangerous.
And he adores it.
“God, baby,” he’ll murmur while trailing his mouth down your thigh. “do you know how hot it is that you could murder me and choose not to?”
You don’t tell the girls. Obviously. They’d lose their minds.
Because you’re supposed to be on a mission to exorcise his ass from the planet—not get your back blown out on rooftops between hunts.
For an example, you let him tie you up again last night. He read you poetry while he did it. From memory. Filthy, ancient verses in a demon tongue you didn’t know—but understood perfectly from his eyes alone.
And when he made you scream his name, you think the whole street heard it.
Even when he’s being a tease—pulling your panties to the side in an alley or teasing you with promises he has no intention of letting you walk away from—his hands are always reverent. Worshipful.
He runs his fingers down your back when you’re not even paying attention. Laces your fingers together when you’re not touching him.
Then, it started with a bra strap.
Well, a glimpse of it, really, something delicate, lacy, red, peeking just above your sports tank when you bent down to pick up your dagger from the training mat. You didn’t even notice. But Zoey did. She always does.
Zoey squinted. “Since when do you wear matching sets for patrol?”
Mira glanced up from her weights, brow cocked.
You just shrugged. Played it off. “Self-care.”
They didn’t buy it.
And then it happened again.
The next night. And the next.
A different set this time, satin, black, barely-there. They weren’t judging you for it. Please. You’re hot, you’re allowed to feel yourself. But there was a pattern emerging, and it had nothing to do with confidence and everything to do with how you were always glowing when you came back from “walks.”
Your cheeks flushed. Your lips bitten. The scent of perfume that wasn’t yours clinging to your jacket.
And the final straw? Rumi walked into your room to grab something and saw an empty condom wrapper on your nightstand. You weren’t even home.
That night, the three of them made a decision.
They were going to follow you.
It’s late.
You thought you were slick—slipping out the back stairwell in your “casual clothes” (which just so happen to include a barely-buttoned blouse and lace-trimmed thigh harness under a trench coat). Hair glossy. Lip gloss glossier.
You head toward a park a few blocks away. A little bench nestled between two massive trees. Always quiet. Always shadowed.
And sitting there, legs crossed, coat open over a shirt unbuttoned just enough is Romance.
He looks up, sees you, and grins. That slow, wolfish, I’m-gonna-undress-you-without-touching-you kind of smile.
“You’re late.” he says.
“You’re early.”
“I’m always early. It gives me more time to think about you.” He says it like a whisper. You bite back a smile, step closer, the night air curling around your ankles like it knows this is wrong and wants in.
He reaches for your hand, brushes his thumb over your knuckles. Doesn’t even glance at your dagger strapped to your thigh.
You lean in, eyes half-lidded. “What if I was here to kill you this time?”
“Then tie me up first. You know how I like it.”
You laugh. It’s soft. Intimate. Familiar.
That’s the sound that does it.
Zoey’s voice, “Whaaaaaaaat.”
You whirl around.
Rumi. Zoey. Mira. Standing just behind the tree line, like they’d been parked there for ten whole minutes, watching your little forbidden lovers’ reunion.
Your blood goes cold.
Romance just sits back, arm along the bench like this is hilarious.
Zoey’s eyes are bulging. “Are you seriously making out with Romance?! As in Saja Boy, Romance?! Mister demon dick himself?!”
Mira’s arms are crossed, her voice dry. “So that’s what all the lace was about.”
You open your mouth. Nothing comes out.
Romance, unbothered, lifts two fingers in a lazy salute. “Ladies.”
“Don’t you ladies me.” Zoey snaps, stomping forward. “What the fuck, Y/N?!”
You stumble over your words. “I—I didn’t mean—well, I did, but not like—okay, not like this. I wasn’t using him or betraying anyone or—”
“Oh my god, are you in love with him?!” Zoey howls.
Romance leans closer to you, whispers, “Say yes.”
You elbow him in the ribs so hard he wheezes. But he’s laughing. This fucker is laughing. And that laugh? It seals your fate.
Rumi steps forward, voice cold as glass. “Go home. Now.”
You look at Romance. He gives you a wink. A wink. He’s enjoying this. He is.
You turn to leave.
And you know they’re right behind you. Their silence is heavier than their words. Zoey’s arms are flailing in disbelief. Mira’s jaw is tight. Rumi says nothing, but you can feel her disappointment.
Back at the penthouse, everything feels louder. The walls feel tighter. Every footstep echoes like judgment.
You try not to flinch as the elevator closes behind you, sealing you inside with three of the people you love the most, and who now all look at you like you’re a stranger.
No one speaks.
You want to say something, break the silence, offer an explanation, but your throat’s tight, heart hammering against your ribs like it’s trying to escape before Rumi cuts it out herself.
When the elevator dings open at your floor, it’s Zoey who moves first. Quiet. Shoulders tense. Mira walks out after her. Rumi walks last, slow and composed, her silence ten times more dangerous than if she’d yelled.
You don’t even make it to the living room before Mira turns on you. “What the actual fuck, Y/N?”
You swallow. “I was going to tell you—”
“When?!” Mira snaps. “After you fucked all of them? Or just after the Saja Boys rip our hearts out?! Which was it?!”
“I didn’t—” You exhale, hands up, trying to keep your voice steady. “It wasn’t like that. I didn’t plan this. I didn’t mean to fall into something with him.” You’ve gone over it a thousand times in your head. Every rule you broke. Every kill order you ignored. Every night you slipped away when your best friends were asleep, trusting you to be one of them, not one of the fucking enemy’s bedwarmers. “I know what I did.” you say, quieter. “I know it’s wrong.”
Zoey finally speaks, voice soft. “Then why did you keep doing it?”
You look at her. And she looks like she’s not angry like Mira, not composed like Rumi. Just… hurt. Her arms are folded across her chest.
“I don’t know.” you admit. “He’s a demon. He’s everything we’re trained to kill. But—”
“But you let him charm his way between your legs and now suddenly that makes it okay?” Mira’s voice is sharp. “You endangered us. All of us.”
“No.” you snap, louder now. “I would never let anything happen to you. I’m not stupid. I’m not just lying there letting him feed off my soul—he hasn’t even touched that part of me. I wouldn’t let him. I’m not a liability, Mira.”
“You are.” Mira spits.
Silence again.
You feel it in your stomach, a cold pit of shame. But beneath it, there’s something else. Something like defiance. Because yes, maybe you’re making a mistake. Maybe you crossed every line. Maybe you’re betraying the oath, the cause, the sisterhood.
But it wasn’t just sex. Not with Romance.
He sees you. Wants you. Not your blade, not your strength, not your usefulness to the mission.
Just… you.
“He cares about me.” you say, quietly.
“That doesn’t matter.” Rumi says. Her voice is so soft. “You’re a hunter. You don’t get to fall for the monsters. You kill them. Or you compromise everything we’ve built.”
Oh Rumi, we know why you think that.
Zoey bites her lip, voice shaking. “Are you in love with him?”
You hesitate.
And that’s the answer.
Mira throws up her hands. “Un-fucking-believable.”
Rumi looks at you like she’s assessing whether or not to kick you off the team. “We’re here to stop them, Y/N. All of them. We don’t get to make exceptions because they kiss nice or talk pretty.”
You nod slowly. “I know that.”
“Do you?” Rumi steps closer. “Because the second he snaps his fingers, and decides he’s hungry, you’re the first soul he’s going to devour.”
Do you really think that Rumi, or you’re just making shit up to stop your beloved Y/N from making the same mistake your mother did?
You want to scream that it’s not like that. That Romance—for all his bullshit, his flirting, his filthy mouth—has never once made you feel prey. You’ve never seen him lose control. Never once doubted he would stop if you told him to.
But even you know that doesn’t make it safe.
You glance between them, the three people you’ve fought with, bled with, survived with, and it feels like you’re in the wrong. You are.
Zoey steps forward finally, hand brushing yours. “If you really love him… then please be careful. Don’t make us bury you because you thought he was different.”
Her voice breaks at the end.
And Mira won’t even look at you.
Rumi just turns and walks toward her room. Before she disappears down the hall, she says one last thing:
“You have one chance to fix this. Or next time, it’s me that puts a blade in his chest.”
The door slams.
Your pretty underwear under your clothes feels stupid now.
But even through all that, you know, deep down?
You’re not going to stop seeing him.
And that’s the problem.
BABY
Oh, Baby.
You hate(d) his name.
Baby.
You don’t even know when it started.
Just that one second you were fighting, and the next?
You were… not.
It was supposed to be a quick hunt. You’d gotten separated from the girls for like five minutes—five whole damn minutes—and then bam. He was there.
Backstage, right behind the curtains at some underground venue, blinking at you like you were the surprise, not him.
Did he say anything?
No.
Just smirked.
And you knew it was a smirk, even if his mouth barely moved. Something about the way his eyes narrowed, chin tilted. The unbothered little lean against the wall, arms crossed. Hair too shiny. Mouth too glossy. Pretty in a way that made you want to scratch it up.
So you drew your blade.
He didn’t move. Just blinked again. Like you were the one being ridiculous. Then you lunged. He blocked you, lazy, like your movements were predictable. A joke. Your blade barely missed his throat, and he laughed. Not even like a proper laugh. Just this airy “heh” with his head tilted like, Is that all?
And you? Furious. Mortified. Already picturing the way Mira would roast you for getting played by the baby demon.
So you kicked his leg out from under him. Hard.
The fight got into close combat from there, your blade dropped to the floor. And the two of you just… went at it. Not even fighting anymore, just grappling, rolling across concrete with all the force and heat of a catfight.
His fingers in your hair. Your hand around his throat. Neither of you speaking, just panting, growling, gritting teeth. And his face?
Still blank. Still bratty. Still beautiful.
Until your knee landed in a very strategic place and he grunted—actually made a sound—and somehow that flipped a switch.
Next thing you knew?
You were on your back, shirt pushed up, his mouth on your tits, sharp little teeth teasing your skin as you hissed at him to fucking go.
“The girls are almost on. I have to go.” You hissed.
His response? A slow blink. Like you’re so loud and he was busy. Then he kissed a bite-mark over your nipple like it was his fucking signature and pulled back, shirt half untucked, his lips all red, and not a care in the world.
He didn’t say anything. Didn’t wink. Didn’t flirt. Just looked at you like he expected you to come back later. Like he knew you would.
You did.
Because Baby is… different.
He doesn’t do the “Oh, I want you so bad” stuff. That’s Romance’s thing. Doesn’t do the “I’ll protect you, angel” softness. That’s Jinu. Doesn’t even do the “Come here, babe, sit on my lap” gym rat boyfriend vibes. That’s Abby. Doesn’t let you control him like Mystery does.
Baby ignores your ass half the time.
You text him that you’re downstairs? He doesn’t even buzz you up. You have to break in. You say something flirty and he shrugs. You try to make plans and he answers with a yawn.
But when you’re alone? When you’re in the dark corners of club basements or dressing rooms or the stairwell no one uses between the 6th and 7th floors of the broadcast building?
He’s all teeth and tongue and whispers against your throat. Biting. Mouthing. Slouching against you like he doesn’t care but always pulling you closer.
He talks more with his mouth on your body than he ever does out loud.
His affection comes in weird little ways. Like slipping your favorite drink into your bag without saying anything, which he clearly stole from someone. Like swiping the exact eyeshadow palette you complimented on a make up staff member.
Like blowing off fan meetings just to sit in the dark and watch you stretch, head tilted.
And every time you call him out on it?
He gaslights you. Fully.
“What palette?”
“You bought it, didn’t you?”
“You said I could come in.”
“You didn’t say stop.”
Smug. Rude. Hot as fuck.
And for all his demon blood and dead-eyed stares, there are moments—tiny, barely-there glimpses—where you think he might actually care about you. Like really care.
He is the worst, but underneath that generally insufferable personality, he actually kinda likes you.
He still ignores the fuck out of you.
Deadass. You’ll walk into a room and Baby won’t even glance up. You’ll say hi and he won’t say anything back. Doesn’t even nod. You’ve lost count of how many times you’ve told him to move. He never moves. Just slowly looks at you like you’re interrupting.
But the second you’re smiling on your phone, texting?
Laughing too hard?
Not paying attention to him?
He’s right there. Doesn’t say a word. Just drapes himself over you like a cat and sighs against your neck like this is what I had to resort to?—then nips at your collarbone.
You tell him to go away. He doesn’t.
You shove at him. He goes heavier.
You call him annoying.
His answer:
“Mhm.”
You’ll be pouring tea, being the sweet, functional human being you are, and he’ll just… slide his mug over. No eye contact. No “please.” Not even a “yo.” He just tugs on your sleeve once and you already know.
You always say the same thing: “I’m not your maid.”
To which he always responds by… waiting.
Not moving.
Just standing there like …so?
So you pour the tea.
Every. Damn. Time.
(And then he takes a tiny sip and says, “Too hot.” And you fantasize about kicking him in the shins.)
He has the nerve to walk around with that adorable, sweet little face. Wide eyes. Lashes for days. Little nose. Pink lips. He blinks at people and they melt.
“Oh my god, is he shy?”
“He’s so precious!”
“Aww, he’s like a little bunny!”
LIES.
Baby is a demon.
A predator.
A horrible little shit who absolutely uses his face as a weapon.
Don’t even get me STARTED on his voice. It does not match him. At all. It’s low and slow and filthy, like it’s meant for whispering horrible things directly into your ear. And he knows it. He uses it. He’ll say your name in that voice, right behind you, when he wants something. And every time it works, you hate yourself a little more.
You hate him.
You want to climb him like a tree.
You’re the problem.
He likes you though. He really does.
He doesn’t say it. Obviously. But you know.
He shows up at your window at 2 a.m. and does not leave you alone, that’s his love language. You wonder what Gwi-Ma thinks about that. Does he insult the poor boy in his head? Leaves the topic alone? A wonder, really.
He doesn’t care about people. Not really. Not like you do.
He’s selfish. Bratty. Condescending.
He never says “I love you.” Never writes sweet notes. Never says “I miss you” or calls you beautiful.
But he stays. He lingers. He lets you run your fingers through his hair when he’s tired. He lets you sleep on his chest when you both sneak off after dark. He lets you see the version of him no one else gets to.
You’re not sure if this is love, or madness, or both. But you keep crawling back. Keep letting him tug you close. Keep pretending it’s not dangerous, even though it’s the most dangerous thing you’ve ever done.
Yeah.
He’s terrible.
But you like him that way.
Anyways, your room is big. Like, stupidly big. The girls fought tooth and nail for this penthouse, and somehow, you ended up with the one room that had its own damn sitting area, fireplace, and balcony. Probably because you “never bring people over.”
Ha.
Right now, you’re sitting on your bed, one leg bent, your hair damp from a shower, some oversized shirt slipping off your shoulder. You’re glowing, content, the kind of comfort that only comes when your secret demon boyfriend is stretched out across your silk sheets.
Baby, flat on his back, hoodie pushed up just enough to expose his stomach. He’s got one arm under his head, and the other lazily dragging over your thigh.
And you’re telling him a story. Some stupid one from earlier. About Zoey trying to cook eggs and somehow setting off the fire suppression system, and Mira slipping in the foam and cussing in three different languages, and Rumi trying to keep everyone calm.
He doesn’t say much—he never does—but every once in a while, he makes this little “hn” sound that means he’s listening. His eyes flutter closed, long lashes brushing his cheeks, and you gently run your fingers across the curve of his bare stomach as you speak.
Just light touches. Lazy, mindless. Your thumb sweeping around his navel. Tracing the faint v-line that disappears under his waistband. And he just takes it. Like he deserves to be pet.
His hips shift just slightly, subtle little rolls into your hand. His lips twitch. He hums.
“You’re distracting.” you mutter, dragging your fingers down his side.
“Mhm.” He doesn’t even open his eyes. Just tugs on the hem of your shirt like he wants it off but can’t be bothered to do it himself.
You laugh a little and lean over him, pressing a soft kiss to his temple. He lets you. He always does. Touchy and spoiled and acting like he’s the one doing you a favor by being here.
His fingers brush the back of your knee. Slide higher. God, he is so touchy. Not in a Romance kind of way, not in a flirty, dirty whisper way. Just clingy. Needy in a wordless, bratty little way. Always tugging at you. Always reaching. Not because he wanted attention, but because he expected it.
You’re just about to crawl into his lap when he suddenly opens his eyes—not startled, not alarmed, just blank. “Behind you.”
You blink. “What?”
“Door.”
You frown, confused. Turn to look, and your soul leaves your body.
Zoey. Mira. Rumi. Peeking through your bedroom door, all crammed into the tiny sliver they must’ve pushed open while you were distracted. All of them with their mouths slightly open. Eyes wide.
They must’ve been watching you for minutes.
Baby waves to them lazily.
The second your eyes meet theirs, they jerk back like they’d been slapped and slam the door shut.
SLAM.
Silence.
You stare at the door.
Baby stretches behind you, unfazed.
“You forgot to lock it.” he says, yawning like this is the most boring turn of events that’s ever happened to him.
“You watched them watch us!” you hiss, slapping his chest.
He shrugs. “You looked cute. Figured they’d agree.”
You launch a pillow at his face. He lets it hit him and doesn’t even blink.
You shoot to your feet like you’ve been lit on fire. You’re not even fully dressed, just the shirt, some thin little shorts, no bra, and your heart is thrashing in your chest because oh my god they saw. They saw everything. “You couldn’t have warned me earlier?!”
He gives a lazy shrug. “Didn’t think they’d stay.”
You smack him in the chest, hard.
“OW—what?!” he complains, still not even bothering to sit up. “You were telling a story.”
“Get out.” you whisper-yell, frantically waving your hands. “Go, go, GO!”
He groans dramatically, sitting up like it physically pains him. “You’re so loud.” he mutters.
But he stands anyway, tugging his hoodie down and making zero effort to look guilty. His hair’s a little messy, lips pink, eyes smug. He’s glowing like a man who’s very satisfied with his life choices. He is casually stretching his arms over his head. Right before he leaves, he pauses, looks at you, and then? Then he raises his voice just enough for the hallway to hear: “BYE GIIIIIRLS.”
He snorts to himself, satisfied with how he fucked up this for you even more, and leaves you there. Alone. Staring at the spot he just vanished from.
Okay, yeah, alright. You take a deep deep breath and walk over to your door to open it.
Rumi. Zoey. Mira. All standing in the hallway, backlit by the soft pendant lights. Their expressions? Zoey looks like she’s on the verge of tears but holding it together with sheer willpower. Mira’s pacing, fists clenched so hard her knuckles are white. Rumi is just staring at you, arms crossed, completely still. That’s the scariest part.
“Okay,” you say, voice cracking like the ice you’re walking on. “that was—”
“WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.” Mira explodes. Her hands fling up like she’s physically restraining herself from throwing them at you. “You had him in your room?! While we were home?!”
“It’s not like I—”
“Don’t.” Rumi says. Soft. Controlled. Dangerous. “Don’t say it’s not what it looked like.”
It was what it looked like.
Zoey finally speaks. Her voice is so small it hurts. “You… you’re with him?”
“I didn’t—” you start, stepping forward instinctively, “I wasn’t gonna— I mean, I was, I just—” You sigh and rake both hands through your hair. “Yeah. I’m with him.”
Silence.
Rumi’s brows lift slightly. “For how long?”
You look at the ceiling. “A while.”
“Did he brainwash you?” Mira snaps. “Are you cursed? Are you fucking STUPID—”
“Mira.” Rumi’s voice cuts like a blade.
“No, I wanna hear her say it.” Mira hisses, rounding on you. “Do you even care that he’s a demon? That he’s probably feeding off you? That he’s probably laughing with the rest of those Saja freaks about how easy it was to get a Hunter to spread her legs—”
“Shut the fuck up, Mira.” Your voice isn’t loud, but it lands.
Mira steps back.
“…I know what he is.”you say softly. “I know what we are. I’m not confused. I’m not cursed. I’m not being controlled. I know what I’m doing.”
Zoey’s lip trembles. “Then why?”
You glance away. Chew your lip. Feel your chest ache. “Because he’s not what I thought demons were. Not all the time. Not with me.”
Mira scoffs. “Oh, my God.”
Rumi stares at you, then she says, “Go to your room.”
“I—what?”
“Go. To your room. Now.”
You pause for half a second, wanting to argue. Wanting to stand your ground. But you’ve already shredded the ground beneath your feet. So you do as you’re told. You walk back in. Close the door. Sit down on the bed.
The sheets still smell like Baby.
MYSTERY
You like him. God help you, you really do.
It started during one of their meet-and-greets. A crowd full of obsessed fans screaming over them, while you stood in line like a regular human, hair tucked under a cap and sunglasses on your face, just scoping the scene.
That’s when you noticed him in the back. Standing off to the side like he wasn’t even part of the group. His mic wasn’t on. He wasn’t smiling. Just kind of… existing.
You don’t know what possessed you, maybe it was the odd way his hands were twitching around the prop mic, or the slight crease in his brows as he watched the crowd, but you stepped toward him. Just a little. Close enough that he looked up. Or at least, lifted his chin.
He was holding a lightstick upside down.
And god, something about that made your heart ache. Because he looked so confused. So detached. So alien in that moment. Like he didn’t get what any of this was for.
So you’d whispered, “Turn it around. Other way.”
He blinked. Glanced at it. Turned it slowly, obediently.
You reached out and twisted his fingers to hold it right. “There. Like that.”
He didn’t speak. Not yet. But he watched you. All of you. Your hands, your mouth, your face.
And when you turned to go?
“…Thanks.” he said. So small. So low. Barely audible.
After that, he kept noticing you. You’d catch him watching from across rooftops during a hunt, or from the shadows of backstage areas. Silent. Unmoving. A presence. He never approached you directly—you had to do that—but he let you. Which, coming from him, was kind of massive.
You started sneaking around. Sitting next to him when you knew the other Saja boys wouldn’t be around. Leaving stupid little notes for him where you knew he’d find them. One time you brought him a chocolate bar and he ate it. Quietly. Slowly. Then murmured, “Too sweet.” and handed the wrapper back.
You’ve learned to read his silences. Every little shrug or pause or twitch is a language now. One you understand. But he also talks, like:
“You smell good.”
“Don’t go yet.”
“You looked sad today.”
He didn’t have to be sweet with you. Or quiet. Or gentle.
He just chose to be.
Once you were in the alley behind a club where both your crews had performed. The others were still inside fighting. But he had slipped out. And so had you. Not nice, you know, but it felt right.
He had his back against the wall, shoulders relaxed.
You had asked him, “Why are you always so quiet?”
He shrugged. “Nothing to say.”
You rolled your eyes. “There’s always something to say.” And then you turned toward him, shoulder brushing his, and whispered, “Like… if you wanted to kiss me.”
His breath stilled.
You watched his lashes lower behind his heavy hair. You could barely see his eyes, but you could feel them.
And then, softly:
“…Can I?”
You nodded.
He kissed you. No tongue, no hands, no hunger—not at first. Just lips.
Then you leaned in harder. Slid your hand up his chest.
Then he moved.
And after that? It was on.
It was a relationship—even if the word felt too loud, too bright, too human. You didn’t label it. You didn’t talk about it. But you felt it every time he waited for you. Every time he slipped into your space. Every time he murmured your name.
Don’t even get me started on the patterns on his dick. It’s weirdly attractive.
WHO SAID THAT?!
And then you got caught.
It had been weeks. The girls were suspicious, but they hadn’t figured him out yet. The others? Sure. But Mystery? Who could tell what he was even thinking, let alone who he was touching?
So that night, you got bold.
It was late. Everyone else was asleep. You were in the upstairs sunroom, one of your favorite places because it overlooked the whole city. Mystery was curled up with you on the wide window ledge.
Your hand was in his hair. His breath was on your neck. You had just whispered something—you don’t even remember what. Something dumb and soft and sweet.
He turns his face to you and said, “I like it when you talk.”
You blink. Smile. “That so?”
He nods once. “Your voice is warm.”
And you arw about to say something else when Zoey’s voice rang out behind you:
“…You’re kidding me.”
Your whole body jerks.
You turn so fast you almost knock Mystery out the window.
Zoey stands in the doorway, hoodie sleeves pushed up, jaw slack. Mira right behind her, looking like she was about to throw up. And Rumi is staring at Mystery.
And he—fucking audacious—is just sitting there. Calm. Not moving. One arm still around you.
He’s kinda evil so he’s definitely doing that on purpose.
“Okay—okay, listen—”
But Mira is already marching forward, murder in her eyes. “You’re sleeping with him?!”
“He’s not what you think—!”
“He’s a DEMON!”
Zoey looks betrayed. Like it physically hurts her to see you like this.
Rumi just says: “Leave. Both of you.”
Mystery doesn’t move until you move first. He stands slowly, brushing off his shirt. Then he reaches out, tucks your hair behind your ear, and whispers: “I’ll wait.”
Then he vanishes.
You walk back into your room, listening to Rumi. Like your best friends didn’t just see you wrapped up in one of the five you’ve all sworn—sworn—to destroy.
You don’t cry. You don’t know if you can. It’s just this huge, pulsing silence in your chest, like someone rang a bell inside you and then walked away.
To Rumi, this was personal.
We know why.
And she just saw you—her best friend—wrapped up in the arms of something she sees as rot.
Of him.
It’s not even about him being a Saja Boy. Not completely. It’s the idea that you’re letting something like that close to your heart. That you’re flirting with what her bloodline forced on her.
And she’s scared.
You sit there for what feels like forever.
Mystery’s scent still clings to your collar. You wonder if he’s out there waiting like he said. You wonder if the girls will ever look at you the same again.
You wonder if you even deserve it.

okay but here’s a fun thought
Saha boys x Siren reader
Comedy story of both parties trying to pretend to be human
and imagine they have a sit down to talk because they have to tell the other the truth (both completely expecting this to go so far south because what would their darling human companion think!)
and it comes down to “I have a secret I can no longer keep. I’m not human” the other just laughs a bit too hard dropping their own illusion like “BRO ME TOO. Oh that’s so much better than what I thought, I thought we were breaking up or somthing!”
I just think it be really neat
oops, what's a human?
saja boys x siren!reader
themes: polyamory (?), fluff, romcom
Tumblr media
the dorm you shared with the boys were unusually quiet for the night. too quiet that it made the tension in the air all the more unbearable.
you gulped down the lump in your throat, pretending not to hear your own heart racing harshly against your sensitive ears.
your five boys sat infront of you, sitting on the couch; eyeing each other as they quietly signalled one another to start talking and ask you what the meeting was all about.
you stirred your drink slowly, nervously, trying to act normal. but it was hard when all five pairs of eyes were watching you like a hawk right now.
you’d been holding it in for weeks.
the truth of it throbbed under your skin like a second pulse—an ache that twisted every time one of them called you their favorite human. you'd laughed along, of course. nodding and telling them that they were your favorites too; which isn't a lie.
but the guilt of letting them call you a race that wasn't your own was eating you alive.
you felt like you were betraying them for keeping it to yourself for this long.
you weren't a human. you were born out of seafoam and lived in the sea, yet you suddenly found yourself on land with legs that did not quite fit you. you were a siren. a real one, even if you have no tail to show for anymore. you still had your voice. dangerous and alluring—the kind that lured people into the sea centuries ago with sweet songs and sharp teeth.
you weren’t proud of it, but you didn’t have much choice in the matter either. you sang for survival. it was in your nature.
but then, you became human. with no actual human skills to show for other than your voice, you were scouted. you managed to debut under a no-name label. a poor company that couldn't afford fancy music videos or world tours or even just a dance crew of your own.
yet you still managed to garner the love of the people. your voice reached so many and over time, you had built a loyal fanvade of your own.
the saja boys were one of them.
a couple of variety shows and collaborations later, you became close with the six. the next thing you knew, you're visitting their dorms three times a week and cuddling with them on the couch.
but the truth is still there, ever so present and persistent: you weren’t human.
and every second you spent smiling with them, joking around in practice rooms, stealing fries from jinu’s plate and letting baby mess with your vocal warmups—you felt like a fraud.
they trusted you.
that’s what made it worse.
so here you were, after putting it off so many times and crying over it at night, you dat infront of them ready to open your heart and accept the worst.
what if they hated you? that’s what haunted you the most. not being found out, but for being pushed out.
because they were your everything now. your safe space in a cruel, unpredictable industry. in this world that, no matter how manybyears had passed, you still couldn't get used to.
ah. this is so stressful.
you fiddled with your cup and cleared your throat. "okay. so... uh, i have something to tell you guys. and like… no interrupting until i finish. got it?”
five demon idols blinked at you, unusually solemn. their shoulders slumped and it looked like they were about to burst into tears. before you could even utter the next words, your confession, abby was rhe first to break their silence.
"this sounds like a breakup," he says as he looks at you with a pout. he has his arms folded across his chest.
“are you dying?” romance asked, sniffling as he clasps his hands together.
“is it cancer? it’s always cancer in dramas,” baby added, glaring at the floor. it looks like he's mutterimg something along the lines of 'fuck cancer' 'i hate cancer' or something.
your eyebrow twitched as they all stafted muttering amongst themselves, clearly invested on their own little theories. even jinu, the most levelheaded among the five, seemed to be convinced you were sick. it looks like mystery was about to cry once he hears the word cancer one more time so you sighed, putting the cup down before you accidentally smash it on the wall.
forget being guilty at this point.
“i— NO, shut up! i said no interuptions!” you shouted, holding your hands up. “let me say it first!”
you inhaled slowly once everyone'a eyes were all on you, "i have a secret I can no longer keep.”
the five of them leaned forward.
“i’m not human.”
pause.
the room fell quiet for a hot minute you almost wanted to throw up.
“BROOOOOO—” it was romance whi broke the silence with an uncharacteristic scream, as he exhales dramatically in relief, clutching his shirt. "i thought you were goimg to break uo with us or something. THANK GOD."
jinu choked on his drink and slapped baby in the chest, who was, somehow, already laughing like he found all of these amusing. to his credit though, it probably is.
"so what are you, then?" mystery was the ome who asked what they were all thinking. "a demon like us?" he pointed to himself as he stares you at you eagerly. for some reason, you could tell he was rather excited to hear your answer-
wait.
demons? like us?
"wha-i'm a siren. wait. demons? excuse me?" you stumbled on your words, not sure if you heard it right.
“dude,” baby gasped between coughs of laughter. “we're demons."
the four nodded as if it was not the most surprising thing in the world. well, you suppose, it means you're not the only one keeping a secret this whole time; afraid to be judged and hated on by yoir own lover.
"i knew you were too good during karaoke nights!" romance pointed an accusing finger at you and you chuckled, rubbing your nape sheepishly.
"so, you're all demons. all five of you."
jinu laughs, nodding. "we were actually coming up with a plan ln how to tell you but it seems you made a move first. i didn't really take into account that you'd be a siren, though."
"i thought sirens were a myth!" abby was now looking at you with awe in his eyes and you could tell he had so many questions about your origin. it was kind of cute to see him so excited?
“this is so much better than what i initially thought." mystery hummed as he slumls against the couch, tensiom rolling off his shoulders now that everything was known.
“wait,” you frowned. “what did you think?”
“we thought you were going to say you were leaving us,” jinu replied with his eyes wide. "or worse!"
abby chirped in, "like cancer!"
there was a brief silence before you all broke into laughter again—relieved and a little hysterical. it felt like a huge weight was lifted off your shoulders now that you've told them the secret you've been keeping for so long.
you exhaled, dragging a hand down your face. “oh my god. i actually thought i was gonna confess i was a monster and then cry, maybe scream, and lose you all forever."
"nah, you're stuck with us now. you eat souls too, right?" baby asks as he relaxed on the sofa, propping his feet up the coffee table on the center of the living room.
you raised an eyebrow, but nodded anyway. "yes. i eat souls. before i became human, i usually ate lost sailors across the sea. now i just eat pathetic humans. they actually taste a bit disgusting.”
“see?” romance gestured with a grin. “you’re one of us. you’re like… demon-adjacent. an honorary hellspawn.”
“more like a morally flexible ocean cryptid.”
“that too.”
"for our next collab, you have to do the bridge." baby chirps, smiling smugly at his own idea. "your riffs actually make humans cry and cough up mild trauma. it was pretty funny to watch."
"i thought you were just a super talented human that can make grown men lose their minds," abby laughs loudly.
ah, thinking about your next comeback.
it would be a ride.
the industry better watch out. these six hellspawns were looking at a #1 billboard award.
and honestly?
you were going to look damn good on that red carpet—with your demons matching themed outfits. you can't wait.

‧₊˚✧ ❛[ bring your baby downtown (go cheerleader!) ]❜
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
━━━ .°˖✧ requested by anonymous ˚₊ ⊹
ft. rumi (+ jinu) x f! reader — kpop demon hunters
╰₊✧ fans think you and jinu are together, and rumi is not happy about it┊1.6k words
contains: jealousy, crazy fans, hard-launching a relationship
➤ author's note: ahhh i feel like i could have executed this better and also it's a little off prompt so sorry T-T (happy last day of pride month homophobia doesn’t exist here)
Tumblr media
“i just don’t get why fans are shipping them!” rumi shouted in frustration as she delivered a strong kick to the face of the demon. “they sit next to each other at one event to follow the seating chart, and all of a sudden, they’re the next kpop ‘it’ couple— what’s the logic behind that?!”
“okay, but are fans really shipping them together, or did you just see someone on twitter say they would look cute together? there’s a difference.”
“no, like people are really shipping them together! they have an official ship name and everything— there’s like a thousand edits of them to love songs on tiktok and like… a couple dozen fics of them on ao3…”
“god damn it!”
perhaps having this discussion while fighting underworld creatures wasn’t the best idea, being both the wrong time and place, but the vocalist needed to get this off her chest once she found out about it. it was so preposterous and wrong in her mind that she had to do a triple take before it really sunk in what she was reading.
it’s been exactly one week since that day when you met the black-haired leader of the saja boys at an event, only interacting because you both were following the seating charts and happened to be placed next to each other. there was nothing special or different about it compared to when you’re talking to other celebrities, yet in some way that she couldn’t even fathom, people started thinking that both of you would make the cutest pairing.
she was at the event as well, but couldn’t quite see what the two of you were up to from a distance aside from being friendly. when the footage came out in a better quality than her eyesight, she rewatched the footage over and over again, watching like a hawk at all the little microexpressions and doing her best to read your lips to figure out where this assumed chemistry originated from, but she came to the conclusion that it just doesn’t exist and that the fans were being straight up delusional.
that man has been the bane of her existence in every way possible ever since he entered her life. first he tries to steal her fans with his industry plant boy group, then he tries to blackmail her with her biggest secret, and now he’s trying to steal away her girlfriend! she brings up the topic incessantly every time they have their secret meetings, and no matter what he swears or how often he plays innocent, she doesn’t believe for a second that he doesn’t also have feelings for you. it’s all in the little things, how he stutters and blushes red at the mention of you and how fans thought you two were the cutest— god, she hates him!
“you do realize that people think you’re jealous of her and not him, right? they noticed you staring at them the entire time the awards were being given out and think you’re all in some sort of love triangle.”
“why would they even think that? i don’t even like jinu on a base level! he’s a demon who’s clearly trying to take advantage of our unsuspecting fans— how do people think that i’m into him instead of her?! i thought it was obvious i liked girls— my instagram profile picture literally shows me wearing eyeliner in the colors of the bi flag!”
“either way, you can’t really change what the fans think. don’t let it get to you too much, she would never pick him over you.”
mira was right. you can’t be stolen away when you didn’t have an ounce of romantic interest in him and had your heart set on her, but she still can’t help but fume like a steaming kettle every time she goes on her phone to find her entire ‘for you’ page covered photos (both real and edited) of that stupid demon next to her girlfriend with hearts in the captions.
the worst part is that you didn’t have the foggiest idea what was going on. as one of the most well-known soloists in the hemisphere, you preferred to stay away from social media and possible hate comments or crazy fans that would impact your mental health. your management took care of your social media and promotions as well as informing you about public perception, so you were fortunate enough to be able to focus on yourself, your songwriting, practicing choreography, and spending time with rumi.
rumi, who has been acting a little strange over the past few days. she thought you wouldn’t have noticed because you were busy with the debut of a new single, but you certainly did and was confused about her sudden change in behavior. she’s more clingy and possessive, yet refuses to admit that there was something bothering her. mira and zoey also wouldn’t tell you anything, but judging by their hesitance, you suspected that she had told them not to say anything either.
with the lack of mutual friends who knew about your very private relationship, you somehow ended up meeting with jinu for coffee. you aren’t exactly sure if she let it slip to him or if he managed to figure it out on his own, but either way, he knew about it and offered an outsider's perspective on what you could do about the situation.
little did you know, even though you both were wearing sunglasses and hoodies, there was someone who recognized you and snapped a candid photo of you two entering the cafe together. it’s only a casual outing between friends without a hint of anything romantic to get advice for your actual relationship, people took the picture and ran with it, coming up with their outlandish speculations of it being a date and believing that your latest song about finding true love was dedicated to him.
that was the final straw for rumi, and she soon hatched a plan on how to hard-launch your relationship in a way that left no room for interpretation. there wasn’t going to be any ‘close friends’ or ‘sisters’ theories with this, they were going to know. normally, she prefers to keep these things private, but she refused to have fans misled about who you were really linked to.
“are you sure this is a good idea? it’s gonna put everyone in a frenzy.”
“right? like this is gonna be in the history books!”
“i’m sure, it’s gonna be perfect.”
this plan was bold and possibly a bit irrational, but she knew it would work out perfectly in the end. it didn’t take too long to think of, all it needed was a single action and a ton of confidence, and the perfect setting to execute it was at one of the up-and-coming annual award ceremonies for the best musicians in the nation where you were going to be announcing the winners and nominees.
she was more nervous about this secret plan than anything, evident in how she was constantly fiddling with the hem of her dress and how her posture wasn’t as completely straight as it usually was. it made the usual jitters from all the flashing cameras and mini-interviews by photographers seem like child’s play, so she was very grateful towards mira and zoey for letting her lean on them.
out of the corner of her eye, she could see you socializing with the others in a gorgeous satin midi dress, being absolutely dazzling with that smile of yours that attracted everyone to you like bees to honey. everyone including those damn saja boys, particularly jinu who had all the cameras flashing blindingly whenever he got too close to you. the sight made her bite the inside of her cheek and pout, but she wouldn’t let it bother her even though the thought of it was pissing her off during the entire duration of the event. she’s going to keep her cool this time, and no one would be able to study her reactions and make assumptions about what she was thinking when the live recording is eventually uploaded.
“and this year’s winner for ‘artist of the year’ goes to…” you paused dramatically for special effect, opening the golden envelope to peek inside. there wasn’t a doubt in your mind who it would be, and you couldn’t help the feeling of pride that bloomed in your heart, “rumi, zoey, and mira of huntrix!”
the crowd let out a round of applause as the trio joined you on the stage, zoey doing a little skip and dance to she received the award before doing their touching minute-long speech of a lot of thanks and gratitude to their fans and those who have helped them along the way.
as rumi stepped away from the center, she took a deep breath, and instead of stepping off like she was supposed to, she pulled you in for a kiss on the lips before drawing in close to use the microphone attached to your headset, “she’s my girlfriend, by the way!”
a simple statement and a kiss, nothing too passionate, just something small and tender, but the entire audience gasped in surprise before erupting in chaos (the good kind of chaos, the one with cheering and people screaming various things in support).
you were clearly confused and laughed, “of course, i am, who else’s girlfriend would i be?”
“you’re so chronically offline, i’ll tell you about it later.”
the news was like wildfire for the next few days while you both stayed away from the public eye to let it die down. most fans had jumped off the ship of you and jinu and were happily boarding the one of you and rumi, letting it sail at full speed and pouring in all of their support of your newly revealed relationship as you both quickly took the crown as kpop’s newest ‘it’ couple.

request:
May I PUHLEASE request a Jealous!Rumi x Fem!Soloist!Reader? The reader is a well-known soloist who somehow was being shipped with Jinu despite having absolutely no interaction with him at all. And of course, Rumi starts acting up, showing subtle hostility towards Jinu for another reason other than because he's a demon who clearly means harm upon their beloved fans. Mira and Zoey, along with their many fans starts to think that it was because she was jealous of the reader. But what they don't know is behind those empty stares lies hidden affection which they only lay bare when they're alone. They've been in a secret relationship for a few years now, and they've hidden it well. But after the rumors that started about the reader and Jinu where they were supposedly seen having a romantic date, and another rumor that stated that the reader's latest song was dedicated to Jinu, Rumi finally decided to take matters into her own hands. So during an awarding where idols were to gather on stage, after receiving their award, Rumi immediately marches up to the reader, and in front of everyone, she pulls her into a searing kiss then walks away like she hadn't just staked her claim and smudged the reader's perfectly applied lipstick. It ends with the reader jokingly and shyly apologizing with: "Forgive my girlfriend's behavior. It's her way of throwing a tantrum." (I apologize if this too damn long, I wanted it to be detailed for you🥲)

currently playing: call it the end - rosé
Tumblr media
the fallout isn’t loud.
you don’t scream. you don’t block her. you just stop giving her pieces of yourself.
you stop waiting for her texts. you start sitting farther away in rehearsals. you leave before she can find you backstage.
you stop looking at her like you’re still hoping she’ll choose you.
and she notices.
it’s in the way her voice wavers during vocal runs when you don’t meet her eyes. in the way she stays behind after practices, watching you walk out of the room without turning back. in the way her laugh rings hollow now, like she’s trying to convince herself she’s still happy.
the others notice too.
manon sees it first. she’s always watching.
lara sees it in your posture.
sophia’s the one who says it out loud, during a late-night takeout run when the three of them are waiting for their orders.
“okay,” she says, staring at the pickup counter. “is it just me or do they both look, like, dead inside?”
“it’s not just you,” lara sighs. “i heard crying in the bathroom after rehearsal two days ago. don’t know which one it was, but...”
manon peels the wrapper off her straw. “it’s both of them. they’re just miserable in shifts.”
“you’d think after all this time they’d get over themselves and talk,” sophia mutters.
“they’re not gonna,” manon says. “not unless we do something.”
lara raises an eyebrow. “like what?”
manon shrugs. “i dunno. trap them in a room until they work their shit out?”
sophia looks way too into the idea. “no wait…seriously. like... do it old-school. lock the door. no one leaves until someone cries.”
manon glances at lara, who’s already nodding. “they’re useless. it’s time.”
they do it after practice.
manon times it perfectly. she pulls dani aside and says, “hey, can you grab my jacket in the second vocal room?” sophia asks you to check for her phone charger in the same place. lara pretends she forgot her speaker.
you both walk in, separately, at almost the same moment.
you freeze when you see her.
she freezes when she sees you.
then the door slams shut behind you. click.
locked.
you whip around. “what the-?”
manon’s voice is heard from the other side. “you’re welcome!” “we’ll be back in an hour!” you hear sophia yell out, followed by lara. “don’t kill each other!”
then silence.
daniela is sitting on the edge of the platform riser. she looks like she hasn’t slept in a week. you stand by the wall, arms crossed, heart pounding in your ears.
at first, neither of you say anything. the air is thick. full of unsaid things. heavy with the weight of everything that never got to be love.
finally, daniela breaks the silence. her voice is small, careful.
“why have you been ignoring me?”
you laugh, but it’s cold. “you can’t be serious.”
she winces. “i mean- i know you’ve been mad. but… not like this.”
you look at her slowly, exhaustion pooling in your chest.
“you said you were straight,” you say. “on a livestream. with me right next to you. and you acted like what we had, like i, didn’t mean anything.”
daniela opens her mouth, but you hold up your hand.
“you don’t get it,” you continue, voice trembling. “i gave you everything. i let you into parts of me i’ve never let anyone near. and you didn’t even hesitate to shut it all down.”
tears prick at your eyes, and you hate how easy it is for them to fall now.
“you laughed. you laughed and said you were straight like i was just another joke to you. like i wasn’t someone you were crawling into bed with every night.”
daniela flinches. she’s crying now too.
“i wasn’t trying to hurt you.”
“well you did,” you say, voice breaking. “and you never apologized. you just left me to figure it out alone. i was humiliated, dani. i didn’t want to be your secret. i wanted to be your person.”
daniela stands up. steps closer. desperate now.
“you are my person,” she says. “i just, i didn’t know how to say it. i was scared. everything in me was screaming to say something but i panicked. and then when you stopped talking to me i thought maybe you were just... done.”
you wipe your face. “i was trying to protect myself. because loving you hurt. because you made me feel like i was something to be ashamed of.”
her voice cracks. “you’re not. you never were.”
“then why didn’t you fight for me?”
“i didn’t know how,” she says. “but i want to now.” you hesitate. it’s still raw. still so broken in places.
“you really think it’s that simple?” you whisper. “that you can just show up now and everything will be okay?”
daniela drops to her knees in front of you. her hands shake as she reaches for yours but doesn’t touch, just hovers.
“i love you,” she says. “i love you so much it makes everything else feel smaller. and i want to try again. out loud. publicly. with you. if you’ll let me. if you can still let me in.”
you look at her. really look.
she’s not hiding anymore. not even a little.
and finally, finally, she whispers, “we don’t have to call it the end.”
your walls don’t fall in one go. but you let her take your hand. and you let yourself hope.
the next few days feel different. lighter. real.
you don’t talk about it with the others, but they know. you walk a little closer to each other again. daniela doesn’t reach for your hand in secret anymore.
you laugh at her again. you let her touch you in front of people. you even let her kiss your cheek backstage, once, when she thought no one was looking, but manon definitely was, and she winked like a menace.
you don’t say the word “together” out loud. but it lives in the space between your smiles.
a couple days later, you’re doing a chill livestream with daniela, manon, and lara, promoting gnarly, answering questions, teasing each other.
it feels like it used to. better, even.
daniela reaches across you to grab a hair clip from the table, and says without thinking, “love, can you pass me that notebook?”
you go still.
manon and lara freeze too. wide-eyed.
daniela doesn’t even blink. she’s completely casual. like she didn’t just drop the word love in front of tens of thousands of fans.
you glance at her, stunned, then you smile. huge. real. “of course, my love.”
and you hand her the notebook without breaking eye contact.
manon immediately makes a fake gagging noise. lara dramatically falls back onto the couch, muttering “i’m gonna be sick.”
daniela just grins. you laugh.
and this time, no one hides. no one runs.
maybe this is what it means to start again. not from scratch,
but from something earned.
Tumblr media
a/n: idk which version i like better 😣 anywhooo this concludes ‘you get me so high’ thank you to everyone who was, for some reason, interested in this also idk why..but when i was writing this, i started thinking abt parent trap. i haven’t watched that movie in YEARS so i went by memory 😭😭😭
