I love Kevin don't get me wrong, I completely understand he had every right to leave and save himself. But I keep rereading the part where he calls Jean asking if Edgar Allan has really changed districts and it breaks my heart.

Was this the first time they "talked" after Kevin left? How did Jean feel hearing his voice again? Was that the moment Jean found out Kevin Could have called him and just didn't?

I love that kevin grieved riko. like, of course, he did. don’t people say that grief is the final form of love? and kevin did love him, I think. he loved him once, before, and he loved him after, still. loved him in a way a kicked dog still loves its owner, because even with face twisted in anger and palms shaking from violence that owner is still the same person that gave it a home once. he grieved him because when someone suddenly becomes undeserving of your love– does it ever leave? that love? or does it grow its own legs and continue to wander this world without regard for the validity of its existence

Andrew slowly starting to gain understanding for how aaron could mourn tilda despite everything she did to him, just to get completely blindsided by how much it pisses him off when kevin grieves over riko. It's so much worse because not only can andrew not fathom ever missing an abusive (adoptive/foster) brother, but also how fucking dare kevin be sad over someone who hurt neil as well.

the real reason aftg is unrealistic is because somehow while Riko was torturing, stalking, doing school, and keeping up with being the second best while running on sixteen hour days he apparently still managed to get some sleep… if Ichirou hadn’t killed Riko when he did, sleep exhaustion definitely would have

It's been a hot minute since i read the sunshine court or the aftg trilogy, so idk if it is specified in the books or not, BUT do you guys think Testuji beat the Ravens the way he did the perfect court?

We know he did beat both Riko and Jean, and we can assume Kevin too, and we know that in general the coaches at edgar allan use physical punishment against their players, but i doubt the coaches left them black and blue the way Testuji did -from what i remember they'd use the player's raquet to like,, wack them.

I'm not sure there's even an instance where Kevin is said to have received one of these beatings, but we can safely assume he did, as I don't see why Testuji would spare him.

Riko got beaten so badly after breaking kevin's hand that he had to disappear from the public eye for a bit, and Jean got beaten after rumors started circulating about his "promiscuity".

Do you think Testuji called in players who broke one of the rules to beat them, too? For example, if they were to be discovered having romantic relationships ecc

Or were they 'safe' because he didn't own them?

Why is everyone in aftg so hecking shippable?? Like literally I think I could justify any (within unproblematic reasoning) coupling with any characters except for like Riko and for some reason Nicky.
