The Bakugous are def the type of family that got a newborn puppy at the same time katsuki was born, so they would grow up together. Idk what breed, but like, I love the concept of them having a dog it's so sweet. Bonus points if since it's technically katsukis dog, he named it, so it has a ridiculous cutesy name or smth, like "Mr fluffy" or some basic ass name like marshmallow or oreo 💀💀💀 OR HE NAMED IT AFTER ALL MIGHT LMAOAO when All Might and Aizawa visited the bakugous to talk abt dorms, mitsuki is like, "All Might, Aizawa, this is my husband Masaru, and that adorable little shithead right there is, ah, named All Might. Katsuki named him when he was quite young,,,," and then he's screaming at her to shut up bc that's embarrassing, but all might is 🥰🥰🥰 "You named your puppy after me, young bakugou? How thoughtful! I'm so honored!!" And All Might the dog loves deku more than katsuki, and on the rare occasion that deku visits, all might the dog is jumping on him and giving him sm love and attention and bakugous like, "you can't just steal my fucking dog, nerd ☹️" their dog takes after masaru the most bc it's the sweetest dog you'll ever meet, like, if someone broke in the dog would lick the intruder kind of friendly. Deku's apartment doesn't allow pets, so he had pet bugs for a while, but he never told his mom he was keeping them, so she was understandably terrified when she found a bugs in his room, even if they were contained, so then he got a pet rock. Yes, a pet rock. He was really lonely in middle school,,,, but anyways, deku seems like the kind of guy that would have a pet praying mantis. Ngl, I could see either one of them owning a pet tarantula. Bakugo would have a pet snake, too. He found a snake in the woods and took it home to his parents, and they made him release it, but they agreed he could have a pet snake if he promised to take care of it, so then he got it, and then invited deku over to see. Deku thought it was gonna be a nice little thing as bakugo had already started bullying him at that point, and thought he was gonna be his friend again, but instead, bakugo made him watch as he fed the snake a mouse 🥰🥰 deku was traumatized,,,

it's nearly 5am. do u ever wonder about how class 1A first reacted to deku calling bkg "kacchan". like before they knew that the two had history. before they had a sliver of context though I imagine it just made things more confusing. just a teenage guy calling another teenage guy (who's incredibly rabid at the start of the series, entirely self absorbed, arrogant, and unapproachable) this adorable, childish pet name with very friendly, almost intimate connotations. and it's plain to see that they have the worst visible relationship known to man. there's nothing that sparks joy at the moment. this so-called "kacchan" is going to bite midoriya's head off but he doesn't tell midoriya to stop. like what the fuck. imagine being 1A. imagine being kirishima, day 1, hearing that for the first time. imagine what went through his head. this guy called bakugou what now? and he got away with it?

people often talk about hating ships the fandom likes or vice versa. but we need to talk about liking two ships that the shippers for each want the other dead.

a good example would be izuocha and bakudeku shippers, though personally i only like bakudeku.

for me it’s that i ship satosugu and gojohime. if i told a satosugu enjoyer i liked gojohime i would make them scream cry but if i told a gojohime shipper i liked satosugu i would be given a monologue on how “boys cant be friends without being shipped together” that was just blatant homophobia.

SO, favorite characters. Obv there are So Many Characters in this show, but I still feel like I can count the ones I don't like on one hand and have fingers left over. I definitely have some obvious favorites (Aizawa, Mic, Shinsou) and some only-slightly-less obvious ones (Shigaraki, All Might, Hawks), but there are also some faves I don't yap about as much like Kirishima, Jirou, Miruko, and VLAD KING the LOVE of my LIFE. I queued a post recently about Inasa being an underrated fave, which is still true, but Vlad King is truly the king (haHA) of underrated faves. I love that man a ridiculous amount. THE TL;DR HERE IS THAT I LOVE 98% OF THE CHARACTERS IN THIS SHOW SM IT'S UNREAL.

Arcs & subplots under the keep reading bc my main personality trait (never shutting up) struck again ! The short answer is Sports Festival & Todorokis, Shinsou, Rooftop gang for anyone who doesn't want to stare at that wall of text 😭

Favorite arcs: I have almost as many favorite arcs as I do favorite characters LMAO. You are SO RIGHT about the Endeavor Agency arc; usually people are forced to witness Midoriya & Bakugou's drama but oh, how the tables have turned. I also love Fuyumi and Natsuo and am always delighted to see them, even if they <3 punching me directly in the feelings :(

The USJ arc is, imo, a perfectly executed plot point, so from a writing perspective I really love USJ. It's got action, it's got character spotlights, but most importantly, it ties together the plot/character/worldbuilding threads of the first season so perfectly. Like. It's seamless. It was a writing school level moment. No notes.

The Hideout Raid arc (specifically All Might vs AFO) and Paranormal Liberation War gave me grays at 25. Joint Training is always a delight. But if I had to pick One Arc to Rule Them All it might honestly be Sports Festival?? It features all of my top three favorite characters for more than one (1) scene each and it is just. Such a wild time.

There is so much to unpack about this arc but it has a very special place in my heart bc the first time I ever watched it (so, like, 5+ years ago) my sister and I for some reason decided to treat it like people who care about the Super Bowl treat the Super Bowl. It was our Olympics except the team we were rooting for changed depending on the episode. To this day I remember my sister turning on a DIME from hating Bakugou since Season 1 Episode 1 to CHAMPIONING him with her whole chest bc Monoma pissed her off so much when he stole Bakugou's headbands. And now he's like her second favorite character in the entire series so?? Origin story moment ig.

Last but not least, favorite subplots!!

TODOROKIS. YEAH. Their entire plotline was one of the major factors that motivated me to catch up on the show. I was like what do you mean they're trying to give superhero Fire Lord Ozai a redemption arc? What do you mean that other fire guy was actually a Todoroki? Like... you have to remember that where I left off w this show, Endeavor seemed to exist solely to give Shouto a backstory, and honestly I remembered like nothing about Dabi. If getting back into MHA was a pit of quicksand the Todorokis truly walked me right up to the edge of it. It was like that part of TAZ where Taako is like 'okay that's weird enough that I'm gonna go in there.'

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Shinsou's off-screen character arc is EVERYTHING to me. I could write a thesis on this side character who appears like. Three times in the entire show. Shinsou really said 'I will be a mirror character AND undo the First Great Contradiction of this series AND have tangible, believable character growth, all while being given less screen time than Mineta' and I love that for him.

The rooftop gang... I'm not going to say much on this one for manga reasons but it's definitely a subplot I find very compelling. I'm still ruminating on its execution so far but I Did Cry over the Reveal in season 5. It re-contextualized so much, not just about Aizawa and Mic, but about UA and the lives of hero students. Ack.

honestly? i'm a fan of bkdk's ending!! ik its not the canonization everyone dreamed of but i actually love that there were 0 canon ships by the end :') so often stories feel like shakespeare comedies where absolutely everyone has to get paired up in some way even if that doesn't make sense, and i'm really glad hori didn't do that!! esp with ochako and izuku - I HAVE SO MANY BIG FEELINS ABOUT OCHAKOS ENDING TOO BTW :')) I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND I LOVE THAT SHES CARRYING TOGA WITH HER AND ACTUALLY MAKING AN ACTIVE EFFORT TO CHANGE THE WORLD (even though i HATE that toga died and think that shouldn't have happened,,,).

ok, as for bkdk specifically - QUIRKLESS DEKU GETTING TO STILL BE A HERO??? KATSUKI CANONICALLY DEDICATING YEARS OF HIS LIFE AND MONEY TO MAKING DEKU'S "IMPOSSIBLE" DREAMS COME TRUE BC HE CANT STAND THE IDEA OF IZUKU NOT BEING A HERO BY HIS SIDE?? KATSUKI CANONICALLY DREAMING OF BEING A HERO WITH IZUKU FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE?? literally what more could i realistically ask for (except for a final hand holding panel,,, hori pls we were so close </3). in my mind that is canon bkdk they love each other so much they're best friends they get to be heroes together, AND we get to see that deku really CAN be a hero without a quirk :') i loved the bait n switch ending where u think it's just gonna be deku saying "at least i can still inspire people" (which is sweet but a lil cliche) and then NOPE,, ur gay ass boyfriend changed his entire belief system just bc of you <3

the development of katsuki throughout the whole thing just means SO much to me,,, he grew up so much and now hes an ADULT and he's so beautiful :')) and the devotion that he and izuku show each other throughout, whether or not it has any specific labels, means SO much to me too (esp as a person who doesn't always feel comfortable with labels of any kind). the fact that hori emphasized that it was KATSUKI who drove the fundraising efforts, but also that all of class 1-A worked together, is just lsdskldklsd izuku is so so loved :'))

and god. i love ochako so much. her moments in the last chapters were so dear to my heart, watching her break down while trying to hold it in behind a smile was so painful and so izuku-like of her and i was so happy when he came over the hill to comfort her because those two are so similar and they are so best friends and their relationships means SO MUCH TO MEEEE. ik im rambling im just,, full of love for these characters.

and they all love each other so much,,, in so many different ways. and that just really strikes a chord with me <33 and pro hero bkdk and support gear deku are CANON!!! lfg

2. Bakugou, ironically. I attached myself to him as you can tell. I am usually drawn to characters people don't like. I enjoy watching him grow throughout the series while still having the same personality.

Bakugou hates it when midoriya starts rambling in the middle of an episode if theyve never seen it before but doesnt mind much if he has. And because deku cant seem to stop they'll either rewatch together or bakugou will watch ahead

Sometimes midorya will just come into bakugous room and plop down on him/his bed

Bakugou spends the next couple minutes trying to physically kick midoriya off

When he finally does succeed midoriyas feet are still on the bed and he'll just lay on the floor like that until he leaves

Only about half the time when he does this does he actually talk or want something

They would give eachother a smug grin any time they talked to their respective crushes behind said crushes back. So all anyone ever saw when this happened was them saying "one sec" before violently jumping at the other

When midoriya asks bakugou to make him food bakugou will make it extra spicy

Midorya will still eat it while making eye contact. Hes sweating like crazy and many people are concerned hes gonna pass out but he will not back down and will not drink until he finishes it cause this is a challenge and he will not lose

Midorya will eat gross food combinations and dip his oreos in water just to see the look of disgust on bakugous face

Bakugou is a much lighter sleeper than midoriya

Despite this midorya is very good at sneaking into bakugous room without waking him and bakugou cant exist in the same room as midoriya without waking him up unless hes in a coma

One year kiri suggested a couple costume with bakugou and before he could say no midoriya turned to todo and said it sounded like a great idea

So bakugou immediately turned it into a competition and every Halloween, con, or literally any event they can dress up they see who can do the better couple costume
