i think its obvious but he is violent. like extremely so. people who know better avoid him (and by extension, avoid you too) because of his reputation. he already resigned himself for "being part of that world" so it would be extremely hard to convince him to go clean. he doesnt want to involve you, but he will reap the benefits for you.

also! his very low view of himself! both pc and li versions of blythe went through multiple "transactional" sexual relationships before, trying his best to be appealing, to make himself feel worth and wanted. this is why he craves a genuine relationship Really Bad. genuinely sees himself as a used up chew toy. thats why he would do anything both in non sexual and sexual sense to keep a "genuine" relationship with a pc (or, when hes a pc, with robin).

on a lighter note, his sleep schedule is SHIT and hes actually really bad at taking care of himself. he still maintains basic activities to keep himself look decent, but he will forgo rest and food in favor of getting more money. you'd want to sit him down and shove food into his mouth at some point.

another thing is that he? kinda doesnt care about people? as a pc obviously he cares about the other orphans but he will absolutely ditch them for robin. as a li, he would start not caring about other people at all despite his popularity and think about you instead. youre more important, right?

Don't Starve is the only game I know that somehow senses my HUBRIS.

I was 2 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE FINAL PORTAL IN THE FINAL LEVEL OF ADVENTURE MODE WITHOUT CHEATING OR ANYTHING. I had spent DAYS working to win the game, 2 MINUTES away from the end! I had Chester! I had a billion pierogies! I had two activated touchstones! I had it all, baby!!!!

I even bragged to my wife that the game was almost easy now!

Big mistake. The Hubris Sensing Technology (TM) of the World's Most Unforgiving Game sensed my complacency and the next thing I knew I was barraged by more Clockwork Bishops than I have ever seen in a single place in my hundreds and hundreds of hours playing this evil evil game!!!

I got through more killer bees than I'd ever seen, and a huge dense forest of 1,000 spiders! All that I could handle!!

But I have NO IDEA what I was supposed to do about a bottleneck that involved 60 ranged attacks hitting me within 5 seconds and stun-locking me to death. I have never been so Humbled by a game, and I've been playing this game for so long!

jumbled ch 101 thoughts re: is elias a real mage?

in chapter 99 we got zoe telling chise something thats news to her: only humans can be mages. oberon interrupts her strong reaction to this, and at first i assumed it must mean elias is part human, until i saw someone point out that it might actually mean hes not a real mage. this would align with other characters calling him incompetent and incapable of being a mentor

i think the above screencap is probably the response we're going to get if chise gets the opportunity (and the gumption) to ask elias... hey, are you actually a mage? like, the thing youre training me to be? i dont know that shell accept this as an answer, and it might lead to her thinking back on the new mage whose apprentice tried to recruit her. elias is, after all, currently fretting over what he will do if she seeks something "he cannot provide"

looking back on chapter 15, it seems like it should have been obvious that magi can only be human. lindel describes magi as people who live longer and are hardier than normal humans. theres also a recurring theme of "oh, 'magi' is just what normies call us, we dont really care for titles." which is another way i think the above screencap can be explained. which makes me wonder - the latimers were the first ones to call him a mage? and lindel didnt, despite teaching him magecraft?

im sure itll take maybe, oh, 20 or 30 chapters for this to be followed up upon, but i think we are seeing the beginning of a deeper interrogation into what elias "is." im so excited for elias lore in 102 im about to start eating drywall

Terrible for each other affectionate/derogatory: I don't even know where the affectionate/derogatory split occurs. I multiship BroCal as both Bro/normal puppet Lil Cal and as Bro/evil juju puppet Lil Cal, and whatever combination in between or outside of that. Terrible in that Bro is so obsessed with Cal that he doesn't have normal relationship/social skills and uses Lil Cal as both a crutch and motivator alternately, in a terrible cycle, or maybe rather... spiral. I made a post a long, long time ago (not gonna link that one bc it was personal and I was being very obviously mentally ill ["C'mon, like you're not being obviously mentally ill while typing paragraph upon paragraph about BroCal still in 2024 like 10 years later??" Fair.]) But the gist of it was that, like, having objectophilia or objectum sexuality is like, from an outsider pov, it's a way to express love to yourself. You filter all your self-hate through the object you love, and you get back unconditional love in return.

Lil Cal is never gonna hate Bro, no matter what Bro does. As a regular puppet, Lil Cal doesn't have the capacity for hate. And so that only brings them closer, since Cal is never gonna reject Bro for any reason. (Back to being a crutch. To sum it up, whenever Bro makes a new smuppet design, he then gives it a video debut on his website, where uh, Lil Cal births the smuppet like it's a horror movie scene, fake blood and poly-fil gore all over the place as the smuppet crawls out from the viscera. Bro then gets to play aftercare by lovingly and gently cleaning up and restuffing Lil Cal as they get to admire their new creation and rake in the dough lol.

So it's technically not a 'you should see the other guy' kinda situation, but it does involve one of them being... idk what word would describe it. Injured by the other? Usually a character loses a fight and says this to act like they got out of it better than the other guy, but... We could have someone knock on the door during the filming of a scene like that, and Bro has to answer it with fake blood up to his elbows, and be like 'You should see the other guy.' (But obviously, that's a terrible idea and would cause more trouble than it's worth... Maybe worth it for a persistent door to door salesperson, though.)

Though, I guess I should also say, I'm not opposed to Bro beating on Lil Cal in or out of the bedroom. Or in the case of animate Lil Cal, Cal choking out Bro. In or out of the bedroom, lol. Depends on the situation, like I said I will ship this ship any which way. But my preference for animate Lil Cal is to be like a totally normal puppet around Bro (or mushy in-love with Bro) and then evil-murder-puppet towards anyone else in Bro's life, like a... toxic yaoi guard puppet. (New Phrase Achievement Unlocked!) Bro brings home another guy to have sex, who tries to stay the night due to the late hour, but the guy wakes up shortly after to see Lil Cal standing there with a knife in the dark, eyes glowing red. I'm digging deep to the meat and bones of this. Honestly, this could go multiple routes, it depends on how you take your Lil Cal.

One could place emphasis on the 'guard' part of the, ahem ahem, toxic yaoi guard puppet. Maybe someone is actually trying to harm Bro, and Bro legit can't do anything for reasons outside of his control - let's say his drink got spiked a while after he invited a stranger home that he thought was chill. soft of a positive confession: recently, to celebrate watcher dlc's release date announcement, i have decided to treat myself with some fan regions and a fan campaign (drought!!!! drought mod my beloved!!!) i normally do not get mods however i am very happy i did get some mods!! they are very very fun to play through ! currently finishing up exploring Sunlit Trail pack !!! i adore it i adore it so much !!!! i cannot believe i didn't try mods earlier !!!

Yesss the modding community pops off so hard for this game! There’s some incredible creativity on display and you can feel the love these modders have for this game!

Drought is absolutely beloved, and Sunlit Trail has my favourite custom region (moss fields my adored 💖)

One of my favourite things to do is explore the community gallery regions, there’s a 2024 one that’s super cool and lets you get a bit of a taste of everything, would high recommend!
