WHIT TIME LOOP THEORY â EXPLAINED
Veronikas rambling about the book is during her intro and the text on white background is a hidden text on DRDT tumblr page..
1. FOREVER DEAD
The hidden text and Forever Dead are really similar, I highlighted the parts that re connected / similar
Frist, the protagonist of Forever Dead is a boy, so saying this could also be about Veronika ( there are mentions about " boredom " and Veronika is the one telling Teruko and Xander about the book in the frist place ) doesnt make sense;
Whits secret quote is " We tend to idolize dead ", and both the book and Wsq is related to death. ( Its obv possible that the quote is about his mother but its not directly stated, and ofc even if it is, it doesnt have to be ONLY abt his mom )
2. WHITS INTUITION
Its highlighted so far 3 times in DRDT ( and definitely will be more ), and yea thats suspicious. What if Whits intuiton is infact not that amazing that he can even predict things ( one example: the " Do you really think shed be HANGING out in a playground rn ? ", and yea it could be just a joke put there by DRDTdev BUT !!! or when he said that his intuiton is telling him that him and Charles will become good friends someday ), but he just knows what will happen and how the situations will play out because hes been throught them before for MANY times
3. 4TH WALL
Whit broke the 4th wall few times, directly talking to US - the viewers, or doing things benefiting us, even if it doesnt make sense in his place. For example: when SHOWING the characters special weapons list and then talking directly to the audience, or when in early-mid (chapter 2 episode 10) trial asked what is Edens secret because "he forgot" and Ace said that he didnt had to ask because he can just simply look up at the monitor where are all the secret displayed, its like Whit did it so WE can get reminded which secret are already revealed and belong to who.
4. FORESHADOWING
Also Whit foreshadowed things too, for example AGAIN the Arei hanging out at playground scene
( small theory, that can later on be evidence for this theory too: in prologue, during Charles intro, he joked about Charles being " pronounced dead at 3 ", so if Charles will die in 3rd chapter or in any chapter during 3 AM / PM, it will be a HUGE evidence for this theory )
5. " BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK "
There were situations where Whit brought DRDT " back on the right track " or made the kg more interesting, like when he protected / revealed Charles hemophobia during trial 1, because he knew that if everyone voted Charles as the culprit the kg would end ( and cmon TV show ending so quickly would be no fun !!!.. Also why would he start the time loop again so early on ??? )
Or when he didnt helped during the chapter 2 episode 4 fight, or when he didnt revealed Davids secret until he was literally forced too
6. POSSIBILITIES
1. He is the mastermind and wants to entertain the audience as much as he can, and since he knows what will happen anyways, he can direct what situations he will let play out and what not, so it wont he boring for us
2. Hes not the mastermind but he is stuck in the time loop so he wants to entertain himself as much as he can, in the hidden text on tumblr page there is mention of constant boredom, so naturally he wants to entertain himself as much as he possibly can to not feel it
He, of course, can be the mm and want to entertain himself too, or not be the mm but he will atleast make it that way so we wont be as bored as he is now - he will make the TV show entertaining
7. WHITS PERSONALITY
If Whit was put throught so many loops or stuck in this kg for " eternity " wouldnt he act cold or emotionless, or atleast not how he acts now ??? Yea maybe, but think about it, if he was a bitch, distant, cold or mean to everyone â no one would like him, or if he took it to extreme people would avoid him even ( MAYBE minus Veronika but im sure he would get pretty fed up with her after a while ), and the consequences of people ignoring / avoiding him ??? More boredom... which he already is REALLY bored so why would he make it even worse for himself ??
8. " KILL TERUKO TAWAKI "
I think its pretty clear ( or atleast very possible ) that the one who wrote the " kill Teruko Tawaki " note is the mastermind
The note looks like its written in a specific type of blue pen which we didnt see in the series yet, and you know who special pen/s which no one in the cast would find / have ( minus Min ) ??? â Whit !!! His special weapon is stationary, which is known as writing and other office materials ( including pens duh ). But Charles would call Whit out since he knows Whits handwriting and saw the ktt note ??? Yea no.. Charles canonicaly doesnt remember much from frist trial, so I rlly doubt that he remembers how ( handwriting ) the note looked like. It couldnt be Whit who wrote the note cuz he canonicaly dots his i / js with hearts !! But is it that hard to not do that while writing something you dont want anyone to know that you wrote it.. and honestly i think anyone in his position and who wantes to push the kg further, they would atleast slightly change their handwriting.. Whit really isnt dumb
9. WHITS REACTION TO DEATHS/ EXTREME SITUATIONS
After Mins execution, everyone was disturbed or shocked, even VERONIKA, but Whits reaction was " jeez, thats terrible ",, he didnt had disturbed or shocked sprite either, he even joked about her execution later on in the series
Or his reaction to Areis death, it was another emotionless " oops, thats not good :P ", and as far as we know Whit and Arei were atleast kinda friends
Plus his reaction to Terukos soon execution, and Levi bleeding out on the floor from several shot wounds
His ass did NOT cared, he only wanted to make sure Charles is alright, thats suspicious. Wouldnt he be atleast little worried for Teruko ( which he considers a friend ) and then Levi ????
Unless he knows that they will survive this, because he saw it happen before or hes just desensitized from having to watch his classmates / friends die over and over and over and over
10. DAVIDS MV
During Davids MV, during the part where we saw youtube comments, there were comments about antagonist and mastermind, the oldest being from 10 years ago and newest from 1 second ago. That could suggest that noting really changes, like in a time loop, unless SOMEONE aware does something diffrently
11. COLORS..?
This is a strech but id still like to mention it, Whits least fav color is gray because its " boring "
Also MonoTV said that its favorite colors are blue ( Whits eyes ) and yellow ( Whits hair, theyre blonde but blonde is still a shade of yellow )
12. THE WHIT SPRITE
During the frist not sane Whit sprite scene in chapter 2 episode 16, Whit REALLY looks like hes hiding something behind his back
I think if hes the mastermind he has his own remote to activate traps etc. and hes the one who locked the elevator or he tried to open it with his remote and for some reason he couldnt so thats why we got this sprite
And if hes not the mastermind i think he took something out of broken MonoTV / something that fell out of MonoTV when Ace punched it, when cast was distracted with Levi and was just stressed that someone saw him do it or allat didnt happened in previous loops so it took him off guard

A defence of Ace Culprit (DRDT)
I've seen some theorising that Ace will turn out to not be the culprit, which I don't agree with. To be clear, I think theorising is cool and fun regardless of whether or not I agree. It's mostly agreed upon by the fandom that Ace is the culprit at this point, so none of this is uh, exactly revolutionary, but I want to write some points as to why I think Ace will still be the culprit next Friday.
Point 1: The Witch Trials of Ace Markey
One of the key points I've heard is that Ace is treated unfairly by the cast, particularly in the trial, and that they need to be narratively punished for that. I mostly disagree with this - I think there's some truth in the fact that the cast is dismissive of Ace, treats him like a joke, etc. But I don't think they're wrong to suspect him in the trial. They only do so late on, when the evidence points to him.
Veronika said he's more likely to be a killer in terms of personality, yeah - which is true, he does make more sense as a culprit than Eden in terms of their respective personalities - but in the same breath she asks Teruko if she has any actual evidence pointing to Ace. Even she, the creepy girl obsessed with psychoanalysis, isn't willing to rely on something so flimsy. If anything, personality is brought up more strongly as a defence of Ace - that he's too stupid to pull off a mildly complex murder trick. As Charles says, "Speculation on Ace's psychological state cannot be used as concrete evidence in this trial." The case against him isn't actually based on things like that.
The reason Ace is the culprit, as expressed by the cast, is pretty simple.
1 - The culprit had to know about Nico's murder trick, which requires being present as a prerequisite. Only Ace and Eden meet this criteria.
2 - The culprit knocked out Arei by some means for the murder.
3 - Unlike Nico, the culprit did not have access to turpentine, so it's likely they didn't use any tools for this murder.
4 - The culprit has enough physical strength to knock Arei unconscious with just their body.
5 - Ace has an athletic Ultimate Talent, and Eden is small and very weak.
6 - The culprit is Ace.
There are some additional reasons to suspect Ace is the culprit. For example, the Body Discovery Announcement. For Eden to be the culprit, someone would have to be hiding the fact they discovered the body. As David points out, this isn't impossible - but frankly, it is not at all likely that anyone would do something so stupid with their life on the line. David even admits he's saying things like that to manipulate Teruko, and I'm inclined to believe him there. Eden isn't exactly cleared by this evidence, but Ace absolutely makes more sense as a primary suspect.
Sure, he talks about how it's unfair people are attacking him instead of Eden, Nico or Teruko - but it's not like people think he's the culprit for no reason! Nico has an alibi, Eden doesn't make sense as the culprit... honestly Teruko would kind of make sense but he doesn't really push that angle and Teruko didn't really need to explain to everyone exactly why only she or Ace could be the culprit when they were so close to voting for David or whatever.
Teruko has a rant about how they don't need all the evidence to point to him as the culprit, which sounds kind of bad, but here's the dialogue leading up to it.
David: If everyone is convinced, that means we vote.
Ace: Shut your damn mouth! As if I'd listen to anything you say!
Ace: If I used water jugs to weigh down Arei, where would I have stored them, huh? You still haven't answered that!
Ace: Until you can explain that, I'm still not convinced! There are still so many damn holes in your theory! I won't rest until you answer that-
Teruko: SHUT UP, ACE!
Teruko is right, here. He could have stored water jugs anywhere. I mean, it's water - much less risky to move than your average crime scene evidence. Regardless of who the culprit is, it isn't really possible to deduce something like that. And it doesn't matter that Ace 'isn't convinced' - if he's the culprit, they don't need to convince him of his own guilt, that doesn't really make sense. In fact, he is implicitly admitting guilt in this dialogue, but we'll get to that.
Now, there's definitely some truth to the fact that the cast treated Ace poorly before the trial. Nico attempted to literally murder him, Veronika told him he would die, etc. But narratively, they get called out for it this episode, and probably will get called out again next episode. After talking about the trauma he received from the murder attempt, Nico apologises to Ace. I mean, it was barely audible, but at least Nico now acknowledges their wrongdoing to Ace (rather than just the rest of the cast, which is how I interpreted their earlier dialogue about it). J, who seems to be the mouthpiece for the more moral takes in this cast, makes the point that she and everyone else treated Ace too harshly and didn't stop to think about whether he might reach his breaking point. I expect that Nico will realise their actions led to Arei's death and will hopefully develop from that. I don't think it's narratively important for them to be wrong about Ace being the culprit here, after all this buildup, just to make a point that has already been made by the cast.
Part 2: Behavioural Analysis, or why Ace is definitely guilty
Ace makes it rather clear in the most recent episode that he is the culprit, or at least he thinks he is. Look at his reaction to the headband being brought up as evidence. "Gh-" and "Fuck" are not innocent responses to this being brought up. It does not come from someone who didn't already know the slingshot was used, especially not so quickly after it was pointed out.
Before Teruko's rant, he says "I won't rest until you answer that" which pretty clearly implies that, if this is answered, he will admit his guilt. "I'm still not convinced" is also not something you say if you're an innocent man being witch hunted with flimsy evidence, frankly.
His confession is extremely believable. I've seen parallels to David's confession, but that was obviously fake. He insists that he's innocent for a little while, makes a big show of "oh, fine. fucking fine" while getting a maniacal grin on his face, and then says "I killed Arei, is that what you all wanted to hear?" It's transparently spiteful, even coming from a skilled manipulator, and there are also hints that Teruko picks up on which make it rather obvious David wouldn't be the culprit. Does anyone really believe Ace is that much better of an actor than David, who acts as an entirely different person than he actually is for a living? His motive given is believable, he starts speaking with sincerity for the first time, he looks lost, confused and somewhat sympathetic. It is a natural conclusion of Ace's arc. I'd be extremely surprised if any of that was fake at all.
Additionally, Eden - the most popular alternative culprit - starts defending Ace of all people, pointing out why she thinks he wouldn't have done it. I think there is practically zero chance Eden does this if she is the culprit and is offered a final chance of escaping after a near-death scare that caused her to break down.
Part 3: The Strangulation
The most solid physical proof people have given for Ace's innocence is that both Teruko and Arturo didn't see any injuries other than a broken neck and injured wrist. In other words, there were no obvious bruises on the corpse. Does this disprove the idea that Arei could have been strangled unconscious?
I would argue no. Ace didn't strangle Arei to death, just until she fell unconscious. Therefore, it makes sense that it wouldn't leave visible marks on the skin.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service website, "Non-fatal strangulation and non-fatal suffocation often leaves minimal or no visible injury on the victim. The absence of evidence of injury is therefore not conclusive on the question of whether there is sufficient evidence to prosecute or not." (https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/non-fatal-strangulation-or-non-fatal-suffocation)
In this case, the strangulation likely didn't leave a visible mark, and the cast wouldn't expect it to. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, and in the absence of evidence of some sort of tool being used, it makes sense to assume it was just done with the culprit's body.
Part 4: The Meta
I will start by saying the absence of a Scrum Debate is, in my view, by far the most convincing evidence that Ace might not be the culprit. Unfortunately, I can't see past all the other evidence that he did it, but I can definitely see why that would leave people suspicious. However, I do think it's possible that in this fangan, there won't be as much 'structure' to the trials and the games, for a few reasons. Unlike most Danganronpa games, the minigames were never meant to be played, and thus are more narrative devices than experiences in themselves. If there wasn't a need for a Scrum Debate, the writers/artists might not want to go to the work of creating one. The 'Select two' mechanic, which didn't feature in Chapter 1, is also evidence that the minigame mechanics may be non-standard here.
The closing argument followed by 'TRIAL CLOSED' is exactly the same thing that happened with Min in Chapter 1. In fact, the whole structure of this episode is extremely similar to that. Someone else being the culprit after all this would be an extreme rug-pull of a twist. If it was Chapter 3 or Chapter 5, I might believe it... But Chapter 2? I don't think most Danganronpa cases are extremely complex, including fangans, and that's a good thing. Cases like SDRA2 Trial 3 are special because they're so unlike other trials. If those trials became the norm, it would be seen as overly convoluted.
Speaking of which, DRDT has parallels to DR1 particularly in terms of the murder cases, right? If we look at DR1 again, the evidence against Mondo in Trial 2 was actually significantly weaker than the evidence they had against Ace in this trial. After all, they used physical evidence to conclude Ace was the killer. In DR1, the second trial ended with Mondo being convicted on two verbal slip-ups, one of which wasn't available before the trial, and no real physical evidence to conclusively deduce the culprit. So if people want to argue that there's not enough evidence for this murder case to be solved, I don't really agree. I think DRDTDev set this up fine, and was even more generous than the first canon game.
I think it's understandable people thought Eden was the culprit - I did too for a long while. She was a red herring, so she was written to be suspicious. An intentional red herring from the writer can be extremely difficult to tell apart from the writer giving evidence to the real culprit. I'm sure when she said things like "Teruko, wait!" before the BDA, that was intentionally written to make her look guilty. The 'select two culprits' mechanic all but confirmed that she was a red herring. I think her looking so suspicious made Teruko's trust scene with her all the more meaningful, though.
Conclusion
I think Ace definitely attempted murder against Arei, and definitely believes he's the killer. I also think being the culprit here would be a good conclusion for his character. There could be a small chance a mastermind interfered with the case and dealt the killing blow, but I don't think it's especially likely, and even if that is true I doubt we would find out until Chapter 6. I'm sorry, Ace stans, but I don't want there to be false hope. I'm looking forward to the bonus episodes for more content with Ace and Arei, which are both characters I enjoy a lot!

DRDT CHARACTER THEME PLAYLIST - My Personal Interpretation
Warning : This playlist was deleted by DRDTdev and thus this is mostly meant to be something fun, and also because people have posted a lot of interpretations that I don't agree with (and I've always wanted to make my own).
So a while back DRDTdev made a playlist that they've now deleted, however I've seen a lot of people making their own posts about who fits which song. However since I'm not "like the other girlsTM", i had mixed feelings on how certain songs were assigned.
Some songs will be exactly the same as some other posts, mainly because they make the most sense to me but I do have some interesting shifts here and there that I will try to explain.
However I want to get the obvious ones out of the way first
UNDEAD ENEMY : David Chiem
I think this one is the most obvious song in the playlist. The song talks about a person who has put on a mask and is miserable trying to addear to the expectations of that mask. There is a lot of pent up frustration and anger in those lyrics which also is very fitting for David.
There is also the hints of something more behind those feelings of hatred, despite how much he's learned to hate the world there's still a sliver of him that still wants genuine companionship.
YESMAN : Nico Hakobyan
This song already fits Nico purely from the introvert lines. I'm joking, that's not just why I considering Yesman to be Nico's song. This song fits really well with Nico's frustration with being a pushover (or you could say a Yesman) and just how society has always treated them poorly.
The song itself is about being forced to do something, like a boring job, and despite how much hatred you feel you still keep on trying to keep your head low and do what your told. I think all of that really fits Nico's arc and what we know of them so far. Someone who constantly is pushed down by other and has been taught that they need to accept it.
SHUNRAN : Arei Nageishi
This song could also fit Ace as another aggressive person who just wants companionship but I personally think this song fits Arei way better especially with the beginning line ("I won't pay attention to small fry" has a lot of Arei vibes).
This song fits Arei's desire to want love and the contradiction that comes with her aggressive personality. She feels that it's unfair how life punished her which fits a lot with the line "They say that praying to be loved is a sin" as she was constantly denied that love. The lines as well about your personality slipping and crying reminds me of Arei's breakdown.
Hi-Fi Evolution Theory : Veronika  Grebenshchikova
This song is very vague but despite that it is 100 pourcent a Veronika song.
I don't fully know what the song means in itself but the lyrics really fit Veronika's issues with boredom and her enjoyement of the killing game. There's a lot of lines about laughing and wanting to be entertained which just goes with her really well with her character.
Cartoons : Rose Lacroix
Ok, I think I lied when I said Undead Enemy was the most obvious song, THIS is the most obvious song. I don't think there's much analysis to be done to convince anyone that this is would Rose's theme.
This song reflects well Rose's depression and pain surrounding her talent and just how her life turned out in general. It kinda has that dissociative numbness in the lyrics that just fits her really well.
Sing Along : Teruko Tawaki
This song really fits Teruko extremely well especially her abandonnement issues. The song itself sounds aggressive but it oozes of longing and sadness.
A lot of the lyrics fit her feelings of being betrayed by Xander and Min, people she's gotten close to in a short time but immediatly ended up betraying her. It also fits her feeling towards her brother who ended up leaving her as well.
Now let's take a break and tackle the Instrumental songs !! This is where things start to change from other posts so get ready.
Spitfire (05 Version) : J Rosales
This one just fits J's vibes quite well. It's aggressive but also isn't too serious or intimidating, it just sounds like something J would listen in the car.
It also just has this...manly energy (?) or punk-ish energy that J has, it fits her rejecting the traditional feminity her mom tried to force on her.
Main Theme, Diamond is Unbreakable : Xander Matthews
This song is literally Xander vibes and you can fight me on that, it has a very dramatic and grandiose sound (especially when the piano comes in) that just fits how Xander holds himself (as you can see with that pose).
It's the exact type of theme I would expect from someone being the Ultimate Rebel. There's also more actively aggressive parts that I think also fit Xander, as we see he's got a short tamper when his ideologies are challanged and he also just is surprisingly quick to resort to violence.
desk rotation by RQ laji-2: Charles Cuevas
You can fight me again because you cannot tell this Bill Nye intro ass track doesn't fit Charles. Again it's hard to argue considering assigning instrumental tracks is really just based on vibes however this song really has a huge science show feel to it.
I could imagine hearing it while Charles is doing chemistry stuff or theorizing during the class trial.
Now let's go back to the lyrical songs, and this is where things start to go a bit crazy and I might need to justify myself a bit more.
asymptotic : Min Jeung
I know Charles is considered the resident nerd guy but you cannot NOT give the song about math puns to Min.
I think this song works really well for Min's relationship with Teruko. It especially reminds me of what Teruko says to Min before she gets excecuted that they "should've never gotten attached to one another".
This song is about a romantic relationship that could never happen, which I think represents Min's own feelings towards Teruko. About how they could've been closer but now they'll always be drifting apart.
How Min in a way sacrificed her life for Teruko but again she'll always be "out of reach". A relationship that could never happen under the killing game's circumstances.
RUNAWAY : Levi Fontana
I think this song especially with what Levi revealed to us latest episode REALLY fits him.
A song about a person who is repeteadly failling to try and "become better". The lines about "searching" and "tripping" goes in line with Levi's behavior in chapter 2. He's awkwardly trying to reach an ideal of the person he's supposed to be. He wants to be a "good person" but from the day he was born he was completely denied that ideal (aka "Dreams of who i want to be I'm seeing every empty page")
But there is a silver lining to all of this, the lyrics work with the moral of Levi's character. He doesn't need to run away from who he truly is, that what he considers an obstruction to his goal is simply just a part of himself he should accept. He doesn't need to "run away".
tip toes : Hu Jing
This song already just screams Hu purely from the line "I'm reaching for something more than this feeling of being important". She's a person who wants to protect others, be someone who others can rely on but in part it's very much driven by her own ego.
The lyrics are slightly vague but the parts about her "future" I feel like really gives vibes about how she used to be someone who had givne up on her own life but now is determined to persue it no matter what.
I didn't put this lyric in but "Take this ghost of me with the tide to die" again really feels like it references Hu's past and how she's ashamed of it. The song's lyrics give me a lot of feelings of regret but also determination which I think encapsulate Hu's character well.
Polygonal : Ace Markey
I've never seen people consider this one for Ace which is really surprising but also not because this song is very vague. Despite that, I do think this song 100 pourcent fits Ace purely because of some lines that really fit neatly with Ace's character.
The repeated mentions of how anyone would want to be loved/have someone to laugh with, it reminds me a lot of how Ace reacted to Levi saying he didn't care if he died. Ace desperately someone to give a shit about him, he'd rather take pity than nothing at all but he's also a self sabotager who drives anyone who gets close away from him.
"Your increasing honesty, I hate that about you" Honestly really feels like it's Ace saying that to Levi ? I wouldn't know fully how to explain it but it just really gives that vibe.
The song also seems to go on about a person's suffering about how their life is "full of failures" which again goes unfortunatly with Ace who seems to just have lived a pretty miserable life. Having only one person he could call a friend, being forced into an Ultimate Talent that both ruined his body and mental health .
Drawing Pins : Arturo Giles
Ok this one is probably the most farfetched pick, i'd say ? Considering, however, how little we know about Arturo I feel like this song has a lot of room to fit his characters and certain lines already do in multiple ways.
The parts about not being able to fit in, both makes me think of how he's kind of just, openly mocked within the group. However it also really makes me think about Arturo's family, him wanting to distance himself from them and his apparent disdain from them as well.
"Tell me what you did it for" "Cause I can't figure it out" I honestly think those parts really fit well with Arturo's sister committing suicide. He doesn't know why she did it something like that and he refuses to see it as his fault, it haunts him, he can't figure out why she did it because he can't fathom the idea that in reality it truly was because of him.
The "what do i have to do to be loved by you" parts I think are where things get a bit weird. My thought process would be Arturo's feelings towards "pretty people", him becoming obsessed with J because of her mother really makes me think that he's looking out for some kind of validation in a way.
Good grief : Eden Tobisa
I'm sorry this song is not fucking Whit, it's Eden, y'all can suck it /lh
This song really just fits way to well for me with Eden's feelings about Arei (weither she's the culprit or not even if I don't think she is anymore). The entire of the trial of chapter 2, Eden is struggling with the fact that she lost Arei and what could have been. This song really makes me think about how she tells David that she "knows she's dead and that she's never coming back". The slight upbeat-ness of the song really fits as well with Eden's attempt to try and stay cheerful despite how sad she feels.
I think Arei's death will be a very big sticking point in Eden's character.
Also the time motif with "Every minute and every hour" just fits way too good for it to be ignored.
In terms of other lyrics, I agree some of them fit Whit a bit but there are certain things that click way too well with Eden (and also none of the other songs fit Eden at all). I mean Eden's secret quote literally is "You can't go back no matter how hard you try" so clearly her character is heavily tied with grief as well.
"If you want to be a party animal, you have to learn to live in the jungle...." Really feels to me like Eden having to learn to be stronger and stop blaming herself ? It really just sounds like advice that would be given to someone like Eden who wants to be upbeat and confident but just simply is too prone to be insecure.
"Get drunk, call me a fool. Put me in my place" Again those lyrics really just feel like they fit Arei and Eden's relationship. Arei calling Eden a "fool" and "putting her in her place", it just ends up really matching perfectly in my opinion.
Mistaken Belief of Love : Whit Young
AHAH ! You have fallen into my trap of this post actually being secretly propaganda about how "Mistaken Belief of Love" really fits what's hinted about Whit's character so far !!!
Yeah, no, this song really does not make sense with anyone else other than Whit ? Both the lyrics and vibes do not match with anyone. The song's whole thing is about "love" and Whit's a fucking matchmaker, thematically it just fits like a puzzle piece. Not only that but Whit's whole thing (that actually hasn't rlly appeared in the series itself all that often) is that he seems to not be able to find love himself and is doomed to be single. It reinforces this idea that, yeah Whit's song would be about love in some way or another (I talk about love in general, this song is not a love song despite what you'd think)
It also works really well with Whit's secret quote being "We often idolize the dead" meaning Whit probably saw his mother as someone she wasn't. Perhaps she was abusive or neglectful, or she hid something from him that truly shows that she may not have cared about him at all.
There are also lines that just fit Whit really well like the "deception, boasting, saying "I openly laughed at it"", just really gives giant Whit vibes for me ? Same with the mention of "peekaboo" since we know Whit kinda holds on to childish things like that (his socks, the fact he uses fruity shampoo for kids).
Anyways, this was mostly for fun and also because I desperatly to make my own list because I had some Hot Takes Tm.

DRDT Character Theme Playlist - Personal Placements & Graphics
Look to reblogs for guidelines regarding graphics in this post.
Here is a playlist of the songs; please reference this playlist for song credits. It is in order.
Diamond is Unbreakable - Xander
Song reflects Xander's fixation on willpower.
A Mistaken Belief of Love - Min
Song reflects Min's sacrifice for Teruko; a mistaken belief of affection warped through selfless selfish desire to save someone and yourself - to be salvation, selfishly.
Polygonal - Teruko
Song reflects Teruko's self hatred.
Asymptotic - Charles
Song reflects Charles relationship with Ellie - forever just out of reach. Dear memories, kept from him, frustratingly, implicitly.
Sing Along - Eden
Song reflects Eden's relationship with the girl who she kissed(?) - (Process of elimination.)
Shun-Ran - Arei
Song reflects Arei's fragile ego-fixation on being strong melting away when push came to shove. Kindness is weakness, stripped away from her - what little she had to cling to after her traumatic past.
Drawing Pins - Nico
Song reflects Nico's inability to understand others and the world. Implicitly not for them, regardless of how much they seek connection.
Yesman - Ace
Song reflects Ace's fixation on living a normal life - something he can't ever truly do.
Tip Toes - Hu
Song reflects Hu's ego-fixation on being important to others & how she needs to see past this shallow fixation in order to grow as a person.
Hi-Fi Evolution Theory - Veronika
Song reflects Veronika's fixation on fun, and a aversion to feeling hollow. Ravenous fear of the all-consuming empty.
Cartoons - Rose
Song reflects Rose's fixation on abstraction of reality; avoidance of dreariness, melting away truth, soaking in fantasy.
RQ Laji 2 - Desk Rotation - J
Song.
Runaway - Arturo
Song reflects Arturo's fixation on projecting his own high self standards elsewhere where he can't apply them to himself, and progressing or learning to introspect and see himself for who he's truly become - a monster.
Spitfire - Levi
Song reflects Levi's violent past.
Good Grief - Whit
Song reflects Whit's aversion, grieving. Instead of engaging a hard truth it's easier to look away and feel joy.
Undead Enemy - David
Song reflects David's fixation on performance. Truthfully seeking something out only to reflect it as a part of yourself you can't have faith in. Hollow salvation and empty words. Not human anymore.
-
Feel free to engage or ask about / disagree with any of these placements. I hope this was engaging or insightful. Please be well & take care. đś

What would the Despair Time do for a fun night together? And if so, who would even show up đ
To celebrate the new year (and make up for being gone for so long, sorry about that), I'm finally answering this! Sorry for letting it rot away in the inbox all this time.
To answer the question, I think one of the more sociable classmates, like Eden or Xander, would probably be the one to try planning something for them to do. Maybe a board game night or something they could all do without having to worry about people having to travel or go anywhere that might overwhelm anyone. I'm gonna assume this is a non-killing game au and that Hope's Peak had some sort of Common room area they could host this event in.
As for who would show up...
Teruko: Nearly misses the event because her dorm room door got jammed, but when she does manage to get to the event, she loses every board game. Though she didn't expect anything less, so she still had fun. Watching everyone squabble was quite entertaining for her.
Xander: If he didn't come up with the idea for the event, he probably still helped set it up, so he's attending. He gets very invested in every game they play and is quick to call out anyone who tries to cheat. While he's easily frustrated, he's not a sore loser and will congratulate the winner (...with noticeably grey eyes).
Charles: He didn't want to come, but if Whit and/or Teruko has befriended him by this point, he probably ended up going anyway. Even if he won't admit it, he had fun and maybe, possibly, cracked a few smiles at the others' antics.
Ace: He wasn't going to attend, but then Arei said he was "just afraid he'd lose", and suddenly he was motivated to show up. To say that he wanted to flip over the table at multiple points is not an exaggeration (he lost every game), but much like Charles, he had fun even if he won't admit it.
Arei: She decides to attend in order to kick everyone's asses at all the games. She is the main culprit behind any potential cheating (though she does rope Whit into it). If called out, she will start fake crying on the spot before she's forced to stop whatever she was doing.
Rose: May sleep through the event, but if she does make it there, she'll win any game based on memorization. Other than that, she's overall happy to be there and is happy she gets to experience something she'll actually like remembering.
Hu: Much like Xander, she likely helped set up the event, so she attends. She's happy to watch the others play but can get surprisingly intense when given the chance to play herself. And if anyone sets up Karaoke, she's the best one there without competition.
Eden: Either came up with the idea for the event or helped set it up, so she attends as well. While she doesn't have the best poker face, she will gleefully send three +4 cards towards a classmate in a row without remorse. She assures them it isn't personal, just business in a fake-serious voice.
Levi: He is on the fence about attending, and most likely will if someone encourages him to. Unlike Eden, he does seem a bit unsure about how cruel he can be during a game without making people genuinely upset with him. As such, a few classmates have made it their job to encourage him to do whatever potentially-mean move he's considering during a board game when they see him look unsure.
Arturo: Refuses to attend, but may be swayed into being an onlooker if someone like Veronika pesters him enough. He then exasperatedly sighs the whole night at their chaos, even though if he was really that tired of them, he could just leave.
Min: She doesn't really have too much desire to attend, but could be convinced if someone really tried. She gets surprisingly invested in many of the games and is pretty good at them as well (She may or may not have read some Wikipedia articles on the best strategies for some of them).
David: He doesn't particularly want to attend, but he does so anyway because of both his image and knowing it'll make Xander happy. He pretends not to mind if he loses, but inside he is fuming. He isn't always the best as completely hiding his competitive streak, though, and Arei has teased him for this on multiple occasions.
Veronika: Attends purely to sow as much havoc as possible. Her giggling strikes fear into anyone playing with her, because she gains much glee from inconveniencing them in any way possible, even at the detriment to her own chances at winning.
J: Much like Ace, she doesn't really think she'll attend until someone challenges her. After that, she attends in order to protect her honor...And kinda fails because she usually doesn't win. But that doesn't stop her from trying. She also picks out the music they play during the night because she thinks most of the others have bad taste.
Whit: Attends because he thinks it will be fun. As stated earlier, he will, from time to time, aid Arei in cheating, but he doesn't actually care too much about winning himself, even if he'll pretend to have some sort of dramatic, heart-breaking reaction to losing. So the opposite of David, in a way.
Nico: They didn't really want to attend, but they could potentially be convinced. If you play Monopoly, they WILL be using the dog piece. No exceptions. Even if everyone's arguing can be tiresome, they still have a bit of fun and manage to win a few games.
---
And that's it! Again, sorry for the delayed response, not sure how it took me so long to finally answer this.

Who Explored with Who in Chapter 1?
This is a question that has plagued my mind for a very long time, so I'm finally making a post about who I think teamed up with who!
There are three categories: Confirmed, probable, and guess. Confirmed means we saw it confirmed in the episode, probable means I think we can say that it probably happened, and guess is me taking a shot in the dark.
Teruko and Charles: Confirmed
Since Teruko is the character we follow, we saw that she explored with Charles the whole time (except when he ran off for a few minutes to make the weapons list). So they're confirmed.
Xander and David: Confirmed
The reason Teruko is forced to explore with Charles in the first place is because Xander confessed he was ditching her to explore with David. So this pairing is confirmed as well.
Arturo and Levi: Confirmed
Teruko and Charles run into these two in the infirmary, and Arturo states they spent their time together while he bandaged Levi's arm because of the injury the spikes caused. They're also confirmed.
Arei and Whit: Confirmed
Teruko and Charles walk in on them having a toilet paper fight exploring the bathroom together during a CG. Since Whit built a whole toilet paper fort, they were probably in there together for a while. So we can also confirm them as a pair.
Veronika and Ace: Probable
I've always been pretty confident about this one, even though it's never shown. Not only did Veronika and Ace's usual chapter 1 counterparts, Arturo and Levi team up, leaving them to instead team up with each other, but their relationship being established now also sets up Veronika forcing Ace into her movie night. After spending so much time exploring with him, she knew how easily scared he was and that he'd be fun to bring.
Min and Eden: Probable
At first, I was going to put Hu and Eden together, since they're friends later, but in the end I decided on these two, and I'm actually pretty confident about it. Eden probably would've put a little more effort into including Hu in the baking activity if they really were already friends, and Min actually does attend the baking activity despite it not being school-related. Min already being friends with or liking Eden makes that more believable, and them having a friendship or spending a lot of time together during chapter 1 makes Eden's guilt over Min's death also make more sense. If they already had a friendly connection and spent time together outside of that one baking scene, of course Eden feels way worse than if she accidentally caused the death of someone she only talked to once or twice.
J and Nico: Guess
I figured J will probably go with who she thinks is the coolest, and Nico's the only one I could justify her thinking might be kinda cool out of who I had left. Hu's too motherly (maybe reminding J of her Mom a little too much), and Rose...well, she might be the second-best pick, but her sleepiness might frustrate J, so I figured Nico was my best bet. They might be kinda socially awkward, but they're blunt in a way I think J would appreciate (and it's not like J's not socially awkward sometimes either). And I think Nico would end up liking J a fair bit, too. So I've decided to think they explored together.
Rose and Hu: Guess
Other than being the only two I had left, I figured they still work pretty well as a pairing. Hu's a lot more patient than some of the other students, so her being the one to put up with Rose constantly falling asleep mid-conversation would make sense. Plus, Hu says that the pairs are a matter of safety and makes Teruko team up with Charles instead of being nice and doing it herself. Maybe that's because she wanted to protect Rose, who she thinks could quite easily fall into a trap, and didn't want to leave her in Teruko's or especially Charles' hands. If she had teamed up with, say, Eden instead, maybe she would've been more comfortable helping Teruko out and going with Charles for her in her pursuit to be useful.
---
Aaaand that's it! If anyone has any other ideas for who paired up with who, I'd love to hear them. I'm actually pretty happy with my guesses, but I guess I'll never know if I'm right.

I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts on Ace and Teruko as friends. Like, I can see it working maybe? Outside of the killing game, preferably. (Given how it's too late for that, in light of recent events)
Hey! Certainly an interesting dynamic! Admittedly, Teruko's bad luck might scare Ace a bit too much for it to easily work, but it might be easier if Teruko can convince him of her apparent immortality. Ace would probably appreciate an immortal friend given his last friendship ended with Tayor six feet under :v
This got longer than I expected so we're putting in a read more!
Once the friendship itself is established (as you requested, outside of the killing game), it would probably be pretty fun! I kinda imagine it as the sort of friendship where they're constantly making fun of each other, to the point where it's hard to tell from afar whether they love (platonic) or hate each other. Just a lot of Teruko deadpanning at Ace's cowardly nature while Ace is constantly yelling at her, only for her to roll her eyes and throw jabs back. How does it work? Only they know.
Teruko's certainly the brains and impulse control of the friendship; Whit would probably joke about her putting a leash on Ace on more than one occasion. Teruko's probably one of the only people who can get Ace to calm down when he's mad at someone.
Meanwhile, Ace is constantly dragging her around, and Teruko enjoys the antics he gets them into. Provided her luck doesn't seriously injure everyone involved :v
There would probably be more gossip than you'd think. With Ace's penchant for eavesdropping, and Teruko not giving enough of a damn to stop him, they would talk so much shit about other people. I could even see Arei joining them on occasion. Though I imagine Teruko would have enough sense to cut the others off if they go a bit too far.
Ace doesn't mesh all that well with the friends Teruko would have in a non-killing game AU, aka Baking Squad + Mai probably (I'm obviously ignoring West Class Teruko theory for logistics purposes), unless Teruko is around. She'd probably be able to reign him in just enough for Min to tolerate him, Rose to vibe in the group, Eden's Eden so she'd try to be friends with Ace anyways, and Mai's Mai. If Teruko isn't around, Mai can substitute for Ace's impulse control since everyone loves her.
Teruko would also help keep the beef with Nico and Levi to a minimum, which probably wouldn't even be that big of an issue outside of the killing game anyways. That would also help Ace keep civil, if not good, relationships with Hu and Xander.
And while Teruko keeps Ace social life healthy, Ace keeps Teruko in good moods. Whenever she's feeling down, all it takes for her to laugh is walking in on Ace burning down the classroom to kill a spider while Nico and Xander are trying to get him to stop, Min is running in with a fire extinguisher, Rose is somehow sleeping through it as Mai and Eden try to wake her up, and Veronika's cheerfully sharing popcorn with a cackling Arei and a "so done with this shit" Arturo. Well, Teruko would probably freak out while the fire is raging, but laugh about it afterwards.
On angstier days, Ace and Teruko could definitely bond over people close to them getting hurt (Taylor and pick someone from Teruko's past) and feeling like they can't fight their fate. I have... no idea how that would work, but I can see a world where Teruko bullies Ace into trying to get his life together while Ace looks up to Teruko's strength in the face of adversity and tells her she has a better chance of changing her future than he has of changing his. Maybe. Really hard to tell how this would go.
Now I'll go over more specific headcanons of certain things I would imagine could happen if they were friends outside the killing game!
One time, when Ace had a race and he was worried he was going to lose to another jockey, Teruko put a bet of a single dollar on said horse/jockey (I don't know how horse betting works), as a joke to get her bad luck to help Ace. The jockey Teruko put a bet on fell off the horse in the race and almost died. They both agreed Teruko should never ever bet on a horse/jockey again.
Ace: Teruko! Get her the hell away from me! Veronika: Teruko! Do you want to join our horror movie marathon? Most of the class is joining! Teruko [not really interested, just wanting to mess with Ace]: What are we watching? Ace: That's not what-! Veronika: Well, I was thinking of starting with the Headless Horseman- Teruko [smirking, grabs Ace by the back of his shirt]: Sure! Ace: AAAH! [Ace ended up hiding behind Levi and Teruko as everyone, Veronika included, talked mad shit about the movie. Ace was the only one who was even remotely scared. The rest of the movie marathon, Ace was passed out, but the rest of the class enjoyed it well enough]
Teruko, hair smoking and soot on her face: Sorry I'm late, my apartment building caught fire an I had to escape the ambulance. I can't really afford a trip to the hospital right now. Ace, genuinely horrified and worried about his friend, look of shock on his face: ... Ace, now smirking: Skill issue. Teruko, smirking back: Fuck you. [They both laughed about it later, after Ace shouted at Teruko to take better care of herself]
Hope that's enough! Thanks for the ask!

The Final Secrets Theory
With Chapter 2 starting back up again in about..8 hours, Iâm gonna make my last prediction with the information currently available
So just taking the entire motive and murder at face value, we have 14 secrets, and if somebody isnât dead in 4 days they are getting revealed
The logical step is then gonna be that the culprit must be among the group that still hasnât had their secrets revealed, gonna include some visual aids
So far: Arei, Ace, Nico, Eden, David, Charles, Rose, J, Whit, and Arturo have had their secrets outed at the point weâve left off at
thatâs 10 people hypothetically out of contention, but as Rose never checked her secret, Whit actually cannot be included in that group of 10 leaving us with just Levi, Teruko, Veronika Whit, and Hu as potential culprits
Also it is worth noting that prior to the trial being started: Eden, Ace, David, and Arturoâs secrets were not public knowledge
Ace and Edenâs get revealed with very little fanfare
And one of the last points of contention, the dead students secrets, outside of Xanderâs depression and potentially suicidal thoughts , the only thing we learn about Min is that she may have killed someone to earn the title of Ultimate Student
The 5 of them at the start of the case, Levi and Teruko are cooperating and reveal they got Arei and Roseâs secrets
Veronika, Levi, David, Hu, and potentially are all looking suspicious now but really what secrets are left
âYouâre a murderer and you hold no remorseâ
âYou only took on your talent to distract from your incessant need to harm yourself for fun.â
âYou were quite the hopeless child, dying once wasnât enough, so you attempted suicide 3 timesâ
âHow could I even select what secret to be your motive? Just about everything youâve done in your life is worth killing for. This killing game is your faultâ
The above secret was credited to Xander, however it is not clear if the dead students were included in the swap, along with another secret mentioning survivorâs guilt, however it is still possible that Levi or Huâs family could be dead
âYour mom is dead. You always omit that truthâ
So just looking at them, Iâd say Teruko not being able to tell which is hers is pretty messed up.
But otherwise which of these is worth killing for? The murderer one is of course terrible, but killing someone now will just reinforce that point, this secret seems most likely to be Leviâs given the limited suspect pool, Teruko and Hu are far from emotionless though it is possible itâs Veronikas though 1 other fits her better
Only took your talent to distract yourself from self harm? The most popular theory is that this is Veronikaâs following her scene in the movie theater
Though it is possible that Hu could have this secret, Veronika is much more likely, by extension Levi is also out for this secret as we can actually see most of him, and Teruko didnât take up her talent at all
Hopeless Child, 3 suicide attempts, I lean towards this being Huâs out of the secrets remaining, she seems to be a bit of an outsider, going by a different name to fit in.
This could easily be Terukoâs as she openly knows she canât die and that failed hanging attempts are extremely painful, however David has also been openly more suspicious of her this chapter so itâs most likely he has Terukoâs secret, that being her being the reason the killing game exists, likely to test the ultimate luck
The mom one is probably Whitâs, which kinda undermines the theory that heâs lying about it but really? This doesnât fit Teruko whoâs an orphan and would recognize it immediately , Veronika has never acknowledged her life outside of the academy
Looking at Levi, he isnât close to his family at all making this secret less likely to be his, it could be Huâs but Iâd still say itâs a reach
So now onto the meat of this theory, the culprit is most likely Eden or Levi based on the information available
The motive doesnât end at your secret being revealed and while some people have claimed that certain secrets are not worth a murder, weâve seen Charles and Arturo do complete face turns and Arturo himself nearly slit Edenâs throat in a moment of panic
Charles nearly had a breakdown and is now questioning his entire lifeâs view, he might not kill for what he hears but he might kill to find out what really happened with Elliot, unlikely this chapter since heâs the most active trial investigator but Areiâs bloodless death is certainly unnerving
So take Edenâs innocuous secret: âEver since you kissed her, you were afraid your sexuality would ruin your friendshipsâ
her secret is basically that she is a lesbian, or bi, who am I to say. Everyoneâs elseâs secret dives into deep trauma and fear, their crimes, their deteriorating mental states. Not that her secret isnât valid but itâs also extremely mild, it also could be the first time we hear of Mai Akasaki, sheâs hasnât shown up at all and her role is still unclear.
Having her be related to Edenâs secret and subsequent murder would be a way to semi-naturally introduce her to the story
Now onto Levi the other most likely culprit, heâs been shown to snap relatively easily threatening Aceâs life the first trial after just being an arrogant annoyance
So the main trigger for this was Ace calling Levi a coward something he openly isnât able to take nearly as calmly. He also barely acknowledges Momâs violent execution, claiming it was simply âtoo absurd for wordsâ
Yeah does anybody really think that Arei could have had a talk with Levi about his secret and not have brought up something similar
itâs also why several pieces of evidence donât seem to go anywhere, the rope under the carousel, the milk jugs, the fish
It wasnât used for anything, Levi was strong enough to break her neck, something Eden likely wouldnât be able to do, and strong enough to hang her with no assistance however with Xander now dead itâs important to make it seem like somebody that wasnât jacked could have killed Arei
So it itâs with that that I conclude my last pre CH2 part 2 theory, the culprit is Eden or Levi, though I lean towards Levi as he was my first suspect when I watched it so Iâm committed.
Whit is also my crackhead theory but Iâm at the point where I feel the evidence stacks up nicely but still leaves a lot to desire, though I would still like to be right so here a mini theory to go with this brick of text
In the words of Charles they fucked up, Whit is somebody to not only have an alibi with Charles but to also have taken credit for a secret that canât be validated
He also did something a fair bit more damning:
Heâs the reason David went to the relaxation room, Arei does say that she snuck a peek at Whitâs secret but isnât it also possible that Whit simply told her and coordinated their meetup that night?
Heâs not overly suspicious but sometimes thereâs beauty is simplicity
Now for the short wait and to hope all these theories donât get nuked the second part 2 starts

DRDT Chapter 2 Episode 12: Initial Thoughts
Hello everyone! I thought it'd be fun to do a post going over some of my first thoughts from the episode after each release. "Initial" is a bit of a stretch, considering I did watch it a second time while making this post, but it's more "initial" in the context of being before the next episode drops. It's sort of like my "initial thoughts" of the Milgram MVs, which are actually the result of, like, 3 hours of obsessing and research, lol.
(By the way, @accirax and I watched the episode together, so apologies if her initial thoughts end up being, like, the same as mine.)
SPOILER WARNING FOR DRDT CH 2 EP 12!
T/W: Body image issues/body dysmorphia, murder, suicide
The Reactions
Confirmation of what I think most of us already suspected! I do think it's a little weird that Nico didn't bring up their testimony about all of the fish being there at the last time they fed the fish. That probably means it's being saved for later in the Trial, I guess?
It's okay Teruko, I saw literally no one in the entire fanbase figure this one out either!
Why is everyone so mean to her though. Everyone here has been an idiot in the Trials at LEAST once
God I missed David
This was so funny. Get his ass.
(In all seriousness, though, I do wonder if we're going to come back to what J said. I don't currently (?) think Arei was drenched, unless the real purpose of the water WAS just to confuse the time of death, so if the water didn't connect with her enough to cool her down, it might be weird that the body isn't warm after all.)
This took me out. Who let you say that. What.
Okay, but Ace, outside of a killing game... why. Like, literally why would a plastic surgeon need to know how to do an autopsy. King.
Like Felicity...? /hj
All in all, though, this was a really interesting character moment for Arturo! And god, the fact that he started learning medical knowledge and spedrun plastic surgery specifically since age 12 HAS to mean something. My vague theories of Felicity having struggles with body image/dysmorphia (Arturo's section of this post) are... maybe real???
Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if Arturo is going to go farther in this game. I don't expect him to survive or anything, but I could see it taking him a surprisingly long time to die. He feels like he's got too much lore to unpack to die, like, next chapter. Unless he gets HELLA focused next chapter, which is definitely possible.
This is so silly. I love them.
(Note: I'm not a Whit mastermind truther, but if I were, I would point out that MonoTV sort of covering up a rules violation for Whit could be relevant. I'm not a Whit mastermind truther though, so I think this is just a very silly joke a la "no wifi! why live :(" )
Well you see Eden, the killer would have actually had all night to prepare. If, say, they mentioned that they could dial in and focus on their work for like 14 hours straight, they could have gotten a lot done before 7:30 AM!
I'll talk about this more later, but the fact that J, David, Veronika, Hu and Nico seemingly have alibis that actually matter is so iconic. I can't believe that many theories died that quick. I'll talk about that more in my theories section, though!
It's been said before, but. Funniest fucking reaction to being declared innocent of murder.
"David still has a family history of depression even if that isn't his secret" nation where you at?
This one made me laugh out loud. Who does it like him
How truthful do we think David is in this next section? I refuse to believe it's 100% a lie, just because he's cooking SO hard on SOMETHING, but I could also believe David thinks he's lying to an extent. I could definitely see a "the best lies are based on the truth" kind of thing?
Also, damn. Xanvid really is real. LGI got me to believe it but WOW David's just being gay on main now
This was a really good, succinct way to have Teruko show her opposition to David's ideas. Even if it is to end the killing game or do something "good' or whatever, Teruko is still hurt and betrayed by what Xander did. Xander tried to kill her, and presumably would have tried to kill everyone else. David is now doing the same thing.
It's going to be really interesting if, whether genuine or not, David is kinda taking on Xander's position. That's going to give Teruko a reason to (outwardly) hate him even more. I'm really looking forward to learning more about how both Teruko and David view Xander.
Also, it's so fucking funny that Teruko and David are literally fighting over Xander. Like, valid, but. Guys.
(Also, David soooo knows Teruko's secret is the killing game is all your fault. Idk if he specifically knows that Xander's plan was to kill Teruko no matter what, but he's definitely caught on to some extent.)
This was crazy. Is Xander famous? Why would everyone recognize him? Like, did David just take particular notice of Xander because he's a simp, or is there something else going on?
Notably, it's also extremely interesting that David says "Even if you all lost a year of memories for this killing game." It almost implies that David didn't? What do you know???
Also, if David DOES have weird memories about this that no one else does, it's a really interesting comparison to Teruko remembering the existence of a killing game in the area investigation when she was talking to Veronika. Are these two getting special memory privileges because they're important? Or does everyone have some kind of memory that they all should have, but only one person knows each thing?
At first I was confused when David said this, because I really don't know how dear anyone in DRDT's life to him was other than Xander. But then I realized, if David is talking about killing 15 others and yourself, he's definitely still talking about Xander's mindset. Xander had something worth the lives of 16 people that he was trying to do.
I don't know how much David cares about ending the killing game. I wonder if "belief in Xander" is the thing he's willing to kill 13 people plus himself for?
I'm starting to get REALLY curious what J's deal is. Between this and her voiced line earlier in the trial saying something along the lines of "it's like you all still haven't grasped just how serious murder is," she definitely seems to have strong opinions on specifically the morality of killing other people. WHY is she being singled out with these beliefs, what does it say about her, and where is her character headed?
(If she is the mastermind, does this couple with the "all murderers must be held accountable" rule?)
"Any answer" is so funny. I think she's looking for the truthful answer, David. This is why no one believes you when you say anything ever /aff
Notably, this is VERY similar to the plan Eden came up with that Veronika described: using the fact that TV shows need entertainment to continue to end the killing game. It's the same thing, but with a much more depressed "everyone should just give up" kind of flavor.
The level of similarity does make me think David is probably not being 100% truthful, and that he just repurposed Eden's escape plan to be something sort of similar to what he was going for.
I do think that he WAS trying to defeat the killing game by killing people through the class trial. I just think that, between Xander's actions and the motive secret he received, he was trying to kill Teruko specifically. Yet another way that David's unhinged behavior ties into the Chapter 2 secrets.
*Hu hopeless child looms in the distance*
I'm so glad that Hu gets to pop off though. She really hasn't gotten, like, any content in the series so far. Here's hoping this is kicking off her getting a bunch of time to shine!
Interesting that they had both Ace and Hu cut Nico off in this interaction. The staging definitely implies that they're trying to show that while Ace is wrong for talking over Nico and not letting them say anything, Hu is also wrong to an extent for not letting Nico defend themself and running to their rescue all the time.
I am begging you. Please discuss the murder method. I didn't realize until my rewatch of the trial that they have actually literally not talked about the murder method at ALL except for telling David that he doesn't know shit about it.
HUH?????????????
Theory Update/Analysis
Well, I'm gonna start this off by saying that I'm still pretty locked into Eden being the killer. We still need to address the tape, and I personally still found her to be decently shifty now behavior wise (she seemed nervous when we turned back to solving the trial, and she says something about "it's too hard to narrow down the killer :/" when people were talking about morning alibis). I just think it makes the most sense.
While obviously my logic for why Levi would be the accomplice has to be at least somewhat flawed, given Levi's surprise confession (!!!), I still think it's possible that Levi is the accomplice here. He could be doing this to further confuse/complicate the state of things (hence why he calls it leading people astray), and it's possible he's not being 100% honest here.
Something that Levi could be doing here is taking control of the situation and spinning the truth in his favor. Hu mentioned earlier (e11, I think?) that the secrets are phrased dramatically. Similarly, Levi may be trying to offer an explanation for his secret that might be more tame, but still believable.
For example, if Levi says that he killed one of his parents because of the circumstances he grew up in, but it turned out that his parents were extremely abusive to him in some way (cough cough Amane Momose), wouldn't people be more willing to forgive the fact that he's a "murderer"? There are different levels to the culpability of murders.
So, it's definitely possible this is still an attempt by Levi to conceal the truth of his secret. It's true that, right now, no one's really trying to match all of the remaining secrets up with the remaining secret holders in-universe, but the entire fanbase pretty much slam dunked this one. Once the content of the secrets was revealed, it wasn't too difficult to track the origin of this secret to Levi. Levi might know that, and might be trying to spin it in a positive way while he can get everyone's attention and tell everyone the same narrative here in the class trial.
I don't think any Levi accomplice or killer truthers have to fully give up on the idea, or at least not until we see what Levi actually says after this. It's a WILD topic to reveal we're going to talk about, but we haven't actually talked about it yet. If we were told "we get David's motivations for trying to throw the trial," I doubt literally any of us would have locked in the prediction of "David is trying to follow in Xander's footsteps by killing everyone via the trial because he kind of remembers Xander." So, until next week, I'm keeping an open mind!
This was insane. I can't believe we actually got a new episode, and that we're gonna KEEP getting new episodes until the chapter finishes. What the fuck!!!
#drdt#drdt spoilers#david chiem#teruko tawaki#levi fontana#eden tobisa#arturo giles#imo those are the people i talked about enough to warrant tags#hu you're on thin ice#i forget how i do tags#anyways send help i have 25 screenshots in this post and 10 of them are of david chiem#he's not even my favorite character!!!#...i think!!!

Could I possibly request a bit of angst like maybe Teruko, Xander, Whit, and one other drdt character that I canât think of (all of them separate of course) finding their s/o injured and bleeding out from an ambush and how they couldnât tell who did it from how fast it happened while theyâre being patched up ? Hopefully this is cool with you :)
Donât worry, Iâm cool with this! I wrote this so the ambush takes place during the killing game, I hope thatâs ok! Also I have no idea which other character you were referring to so I added Veronika because I thought it would be fun to add her! Hope you enjoy!
Teruko, Xander, and Whit with an S/O who was injured in an ambush
Gn! Reader
Warnings: blood, injury, mentions of death but no actual death occurs, mentions of torture in Veronicaâs part, mentions of drugging, mentions of the movie Hostel in Veronikaâs part (itâs horror movie about torture so I figured it deserved a warning)
-Knowing her luck, she was most likely the one to find you, and surprisingly, sheâs not as hysterical as you might think she would be. I mean, sheâs still pretty freaked out, but she knows that right now her main priority is getting you medical attention, and focusing on her emotions might get in the way of helping you
-Her first step is to get you to the infirmary before you bleed out, sheâs surprisingly strong so she can carry you there just fine. On her way she questions you on who attacked you and if you were hurt anywhere she couldnât see, once she gets an answer to those questions her main priority becomes keeping you awake
-It wouldnât be until you fully lost consciousness that she begins to freak out, she was distracting herself by distracting you, but now that youâre out she has no way to keep herself from acknowledging how dire the situation is
-She doesnât trust herself enough to try to heal you on her own (bad luck and all that), so she either forces Arturo to do it or she forces Monotv to do it, although since you donât know who attacked you, heâs reluctant to let a potential murder go to waste. Considering how badly you were injured, it takes awhile to heal you, and nobodyâs sure if youâll even make it.
-Through it all, Teruko seems to have completely shut down her emotions. She refuses to cry or show fear in front of the others, not now, not after how theyâve treated her. She wonât show weakness, especially since the person who tried to kill you is still alive and free.
-Inside however, sheâs a wreck. Sheâs lost the few people she allowed herself to get close to in the past, if she loses you she doesnât know what sheâll do. Probably kill whoever killed you before Monotv can get his paws on them, itâs not like she was ever going to escape this place anyway.
-She doesnât leave the infirmary area until she hereâs news about your condition, good or bad. If youâre gonna go, sheâs going to be there with you, she wonât let you die alone.
-Once she gets the news that youâll live, she breathes the biggest sigh of relief anyone could possibly imagine. She stays by your side until you wake up, but when you do she has no idea what to say. I mean, what are you supposed to say to someone whoâs had a near death experience? So she opts to stay silent, instead hugging you carefully until you say something
-Once sheâs sure youâll be alright, she makes it her lifeâs mission to find out who hurt you. Sheâs not above getting aggressive with the others if they refuse to cooperate with her search, especially since it comes down to your safety. She most likely wonât pick a physical fight with whoever did it if she find out, but she will make sure they canât come within 30 yards of you ever again, and she makes sure everybody else knows what theyâve done too.
-Thereâs no way in hell Teruko is gonna let you out of her sight for the rest of the game, even with those who she knows didnât attack you. She was already pretty protective of you given the circumstances, but your near death experience has increased her protectiveness ten-fold. Nobody except her is allowed near you anymore, no matter how much you protest. Call her overprotective all you like, but sheâs not playing when it comes to your safety.
-She wonât tell you how scared she is of you dying or getting attacked again, not unless sheâs on the verge of sleep when you ask her about it. But itâs easy to tell how scared she is from the way she grips you in her sleep, or how she pulls you closer whenever anyone passes you two by
-JustâŚstay alive for her, ok? She canât afford to lose another person she loves, not like this.
-Veronika could tell something was wrong long before she found you, call it a sixth sense or something. Sheâs very perceptive so I think she could guess that someone was going to try to kill, she just didnât realize youâd be the victim
-When she does find you, she is scarily calm. Like, there is not a single ounce of emotion showing on her face. You couldnât begin to guess what sheâs thinking right now.
-Without hesitation, she picks you up and books it for the infirmary a lot faster than you would imagine someone carrying a limp body would be able to run. Veronika knows better than anyone how quickly a person can bleed out, so all sheâs focusing on is keeping you conscious until she can get you medical help. She doesnât bother asking you who did it, she doesnât want to upset you any further and besides, she could figure it out on her own later. Instead, she tries to engage in some regular conversation to help try keeping you calm but awake.
-You best believe Monotv is fixing you up, Veronika has no way of confirming Arturoâs innocence in this moment so she wonât allow him near you, and sheâs scary enough that even Monotv canât deny her request.
-Now that youâre unconscious, she knows that she wonât be of any help to you. So while Monotv is trying to save you, she goes on a witch hunt for your assailant.
-Nobody, and I mean nobody, is safe from her wrath. Sheâs gone back to acting like her regular, bubbly (disturbing) self, but anyone within a ten mile radius of her can feel the stone cold rage thatâs radiating off of her. Nobody bothers lying to her when she questions them, they know she would know if they lied, and they arenât stupid enough to risk feeling her wrath over a silly lie, even if theyâre innocent. Of course, the person responsible lies right to her face, but she knows. And sheâll be damned if they get away with it
-Veronika doesnât wait to hear if youâll live before enacting her vengeance on whoever attacked you, if she waited and you did die then she wonât have time to mess with the killer before the trial begins.
-Itâs not hard for her to get her hands on the would-be-killer, all she had to do is drug the water theyâre drinking without them noticing (Monotv was more than happy to supply her with the pills) , and drag them back to her room. And oh boy, does she go to town on them.
-You ever seen hostel? Yeah itâs kinda like that except she keeps the attacker alive. She will not hold back, she will go as far as she can without outright killing the perpetrator
-She might let them go after their âpunishmentâ is over, or she might keep them tied up in her room somewhere, who knows! It all depends on if she feels bothered enough to feed and water them
-Sheâll then check up on you, hoping that youâre still alive. Fear and concern begin to eat her alive now that she got all the murderous rage out of her system. Sheâll stay with your unconscious body as long as she can, only leaving to grab food or use the bathroom.
-When you finally wake up, sheâs ecstatic! Sheâll hug you and kiss you and wait on your every request. She basically treats you like royalty
-She wonât tell you about how she handled your attacker, she doesnât need you worrying about her safety or thinking about that gruesome scene
-She doesnât worry about it happening again since she took care of your assailant , but obviously you might, so sheâll do her best to reassure you. Anything thatâll make you feel safer, sheâll do. She comes with you everywhere if youâd like (it gives her a little piece of mind too), and she does her best to distract you by any means necessary to keep you from spiraling into terror
-Eventually your fears will dissipate, nothing bad has happened to you when Veronikaâs by your side, so thereâs nothing to fear anymore. She makes sure of it.
-Afraid, very afraid
-He wasnât the one to find you, Teruko was. He found out after a very concerned David saw her carry your limp and bloody body to the infirmary
-He immediately rushes to the infirmary, terrified that you might be dead. Heâs relieved to see you still alive, but also extremely worried when he sees the extent of your injuries. With no way of knowing if youâll pull through, he stays by your side, constantly watching to make sure youâre still breathing
-He blames himself for your attack. If he had been there with you, if he hadnât left you alone, then maybe he could have stopped your assailant from nearly killing you. At the very least he could have been there to defend you, most of Xanders classmates wouldnât anywhere near strong enough to face him.
-Teruko informs him that before you passed out, you told her that the attack was too quick for you to identify the assailant. He thinks briefly of trying to find out who did it, but he wonât leave you in the condition youâre in by yourself, no way.
-He keeps an eye on whoeverâs healing you, even if itâs just MonoTv. Heâs not risking your safety, especially after he failed to keep you out of harms way the first time.
-Once you regain consciousness, heâll be all over you. No one in the school can rip you from his arms, he refuses to let you go (unless heâs hurting you, in which case heâll refrain from intense physical contact.) He asks you a ton of questions, mostly along the lines of âare you in any pain? or âcan I get you anything?â Anything you want, heâll get. Heâs at your beck and call
-He refuses to leave you by yourself after that. The only other person he feels he can trust around you is Teruko, anyone else can only interact with you when heâs in the room. He hates being overbearing, but the fear that youâll get attacked again is far greater than his dislike of hovering.
-If he gets any indication of who the attacker was, he is on them so quickly itâs not even funny. He doesnât care whoâs around to see it (except you) or what the consequences will be for him, heâs pounding their face in. He wonât stop until his victim is either unconscious or on the verge of dying, as much as he wants them dead he doesnât want to get executed. He also makes sure everyone else is aware of what theyâve done so nobody else falls victim to that person
-Heâs also not leaving you alone ever again (unless Terukoâs with you). As the game progresses his trust in the rest of the group goes down astronomically, he canât afford to risk leaving you with everyone when anybody could kill next.
-Still, it eases your worry to have him around. Heâs the strongest out of everybody there so as long as you stick with him, you know youâll be fine
-Oh heâs an absolute w r e c k
-Heâs likely to find you first as well, heâs extremely clingy and was probably looking for you when he found your unconscious body.
-Heâs terrified, he has no idea if youâre even still alive or not, heâs just trying to get you to help as soon as possible. He screams for help until someone shows up, helping him carry you to the infirmary while he sobs
-Heâs not leaving your side, he refuses to. Even when Monotv is patching you up, even the smell and sight of blood become too much to bear for him, heâs still there, watching your every move (or lack thereof). He stays at your side all night, sleeping next to your unconscious body
-Whit has no idea what to do. He doesnât know who did this, he doesnât know how to help you, he doesnât even know how to help himself. He canât dark humor his way out of this one, not while youâre actively hurting. He knows he canât really do anything to find the perpetrator, so at your side he remains, waiting for you to wake up
-Once you do, heâs immediately peppering your face with kisses, beyond relieved that you finally woke up. He was afraid you would fall into a coma and never come back to him, but youâre here now, alive and conscious.
-Anything you need, he'll get. He waits on you hand and foot, anything to make your recovery easier. He doesn't want to overwhelm you, but he will ask if you remember who attacked you. While he's disappointed that you didn't get to see them, he won't push it any further. He's just glad you're safe.
-He doesn't stop you from seeing the others once you've recovered enough, but he will be watching over you like a HAWK whenever you're with anyone else. The only person he even remotely trusts around you is Charles, solely because he knows Charles couldn't hurt you without passing out.
-If he gets any indication of who did it he will make their life a living hell. He won't hurt them physically, but he will make sure they're ostracised from the group. He'll also bully them horrendously, making it his mission in life to annoy the attacker any chance he gets.
-He won't tell you worried he is, and it may be hard to tell, but don't be fooled. He's so scared you'll get hurt again. He tries to hide his feelings from you, but you can hear him crying himself to sleep sometimes when it all gets to be too much. He feels like it's his fault, like he didn't do enough to protect you.
-Please comfort him, he needs a reminder that it's not his fault and that you're still here, safe with him.
I hope you enjoyed!

Fun fact! I tried to do drdttober- but a certain horseboy sprite edit got me distracted- I only did days 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and I also had attempted day 9 via giving Veronika multiple limbs in a sprite edit since she has enough eyes but gave up
DRDT spoilers below!
And I'm sorry I didn't do the whole thing T~T thank you @/librariansrose and @/mikmiho (I believe I got the @ right-) for DRDTtober, I'm sorry if I missed someone-
Bonus funny at the end- and trigger warnings down below because it has spoilers as well
TW: Morbid humor, referring Levi to Jesus and also talking about how Ace basically told Levi to kys
Day one: Hitman/Assassins! Fun fact! This was made before the MM Xander design
Day three: Puppet! I was going to draw it but I had given up- so I made a quick sprite edit ig
Day four: Apocalypse! This was what inspired me to make the sprite edit of revival AU ace, but I worked on it for several days and kinda got tired so I only did a few more and Ig I'll just put the drawing
Day five: Royalty! This was my first time drawing rose I believe!
Day seven: Aquatic! Morbid- If you look closely you can see gills and a fin ear ig
And here's the bonus!

Guys I have another crazy theory
If Charles dies during chapter 3----
which is something that CAN happen,
(Whit and Charles.....
The chances of them both dying in one chapter are small
The chances of both of dying are good enough
The chances of one of them dying and one surviving are good enough
Personally I've death flagged Whit
I get this feel that Charles has a 50/50 on being a victim, and a survivor.
Whit is chapter 3, 4, and 5 death flag coded to me
additionally he's traitor (red flag) and mastermind (red flag) coded also!
god why am I so certain he will die if I can't imagine his body in front of my eyes?
J has a chapter 4 feel
Arturo chapter 3 feel
Veronika chapter 3 feel
Ace chapter 3 feel
David chapter 5 feel
Teruko survivor feel
Eden survivor feel, chapter 3 feel, chapter 5 feel?
perhaps 6
(Arei had a chapter 2 victim feel, though throughout the chapter I've switched between thinking like 10 people had death flags.
I know nothing)
I can't take a feel on Rose at all
perhaps she's a survivor
I don't have a feel of Nico at all.
they've literally doomed themself though.
might be a survivor.
Levi has always had a chapter 5 death feel to me
Hu Jing chapter 2 (3, 4? early early early... it was SUPPOSED to be early, I think I'll stand with chapter 2.
chapter 3 has too many other feels on it.
chapter 4 has too many other feels on it.
(maybe chapter 4)
fuck goddamnit she's supposed to be dead, to my own understanding, but everyone else fits better)
Whit could like
Like the person Whit could strive to talk to could be David Chiem?
I sound insane to my own ears.
(Nobody sane would want to talk to that man)
Think about it, Charwhit happened like this
Charles is a dickcunt to everyone around him with a stick up his dick
Whit is a chillout guy with a knack for joking around, and getting annoyed with people who think they're horseshit
Charles loves his personal space
Whit ALSO loves Charles personal space and latches himself onto him, to make jokes and make fun of how he seriously thinks he is so superior and all.
Charles is so unbelievable.
He's like.
A guy!
A specific kind of guy.
Whit practically attached himself to Charles hip to have fun, and humble him (is the feel I get)
They both slowly learn about each other via forced proximity
The THING, that turns them both from (man, fuck that guy) to (that is... my closest friend)
is that they're both decent people.
Whit helps out someone who is suffering, gives him alibi, speaks out for him during a high stress situation, makes sure he's decent
Charles APPRECIATES THAT, going as far as to agree to Whit saying they are friends
I don't remember if he did that, but I think he softened his attitude towards him too?
He also CHANGED. for the better.
he understood the importance of relying on someone.
something HAPPENS to them, and the way they deal with that is by helping each other (when no one else would)
Like they're besties rn, literal soulmates (platonic or otherwise)
As a charwhit shipper?
They're my kissing rats, in my headspace I take little figurines of them and have them kiss
I imagine something like lazy mornings, where Whit makes himself some gross type of coffee to wake up and they're in the kitchen and Charles kind of just grabs him like a lover would and spins him around and they're happy
And I imagine Charles laying on the bed with Whit and sort of cuddling one of his thighs to be affectionate while Whit like.
Relaxes? I unno, something something.
Just chillout afternoons
I imagine Charles spooning Whit with his head on top of Whit's hands wrapped around the waist while Whit leans back on him in bed
Watching some kind of movie on a laptop.
Not a horror one!
They would have a feel of a horror one if they weren't.
Them!
Charles is not suitable for blood and gore and bodies and etc
Whit is a comedy type of guy (romcom esp)
I've no headcanons what kinda movie it would be, but yeah yeah yeah
I imagine a side hug on a bench in a nice park
God I'm like
Not a Whitvid shipper or a Charuko shipper, but the latter one
latter.. ladder? someone translate the word latter into actual english word.... what do I put to make the sound in my head make sense linguistically?
is canon to me also đ
happy day to all those that celebrate, let's have a welcome powercouple solves a trial time while David has an emotional constipation! ~ â¨
Truly the fangan of all time!
Whitvid is not canon to me yet sorry, they just don't have a lovers type of feel (yet, perhaps we still have 4 more chapters to go let's see if they're making out by then /j
I'm sorry I'm sorry
cacklingggggg
but like as I was saying
I don't quite believe my thoughts YET, but
Well David is
He has a Charles feel to me
I've already classified him and Charles in the same group!!
The group name is called "people with superiority complex who are behind on life"
David cannot for the life of him think for himself in a way that MAKES SENSE, he yaps and yaps and yaps and yaps and is like
Xander Xander Xander Xander, he stabbed you
you should have known he'd stab you
"Xander stabbed me, he is a bad person.
what kind of divine REASON could he possibly have for hurting me? for wanting to kill me?"
"oh my god shut up đ" <- David Chiem impression
(nobody would have ever hurt you baby if you didn't bring him up in the first place)
(I know you want to say everything you've never gotten the CHANCE to, but this man is NOT PREPARED for people speaking back!)
like Charles can't cook, or do basic self care shit
David can't get a hold on himself nearby people who irritate him/say things that are TRUE that hurt him deep inside
Neither of them know a couple of things about ~the life basics~
can't keep his mouth shut (girl it's running)
acts like he thinks he's superior enough to just shut everyone who ever wrongs him down
Their lifestyle ensured that
Also David literally speaks down to people like, all the time
Like once again.
again and again and again.
nobody would ever want to search him out.
I'm insane for even theorizing if not suggesting this.
This man....
Needs to be humbled <3
And who better to teach him a lesson than Hu
the guy he hates for existing Let's be real Hu could try, but she would never be able to get through to David
Theorizing potential future dynamic between David and Whit I do not believe in Charwhit seperating early on, or Whit surviving chapter 3 <- princess rat emoji
guys guys guys....
đđ
I didn't... like I wasn't crude enough right?
I love ranting and I love like... saying stuff
I didn't come off strong in a bad way right?
you like to read What I'm saying?
what I'm thinking?
I didn't hurt anyone here?
If I did anything to hurt anyone I'm sorry
It GENUINELY escaped my mind
I don't know if I've said anything really bad :(
I don't detect myself having said anything bad, but a heavy rant on a drdt related topic has me having flashbacks
sorry sorry!
it's just I'm the type of person to say my opinion on my own character analysis
I hope I didn't do anything wrong to anyone ... :(
Sigh, okay! okay.
Are we good? Drdt fandom, we alright?
Doing great, no hard feelings?
Okay! Okay!
I can do this

The newest DRDT video did drop some info (spoilers for chapter 2 episode 12)
Obviously David's not the killer, his motive of lying was revealed to be that he wanted to end the killing game like Xander. Either Xander told him this or David assumed that's why Xander killed Teruko. I'm guessing it's both though, he took the info he had on Xander and concluded the reason Xander tried to kill Teruko was to end the killing game.
Also Arturo says he neglected everything not relating to his goal, maybe he also neglected his little sister? It said her death is his fault and that he left her, maybe he left her to pursue his career as a plastic surgeon. Rather or not he regrets this is another question, considering his reaction though I'm saying there's probably at least some remorse, if not remorse at least fear of what others will think. Probably a mix of both if he does feel remorse.
The alibies were switched around, due to the blackened killing in the morning instead of the night,
People who couldn't have kill Arei now are:
Hu, David, Veronica, J, and Nico.
I'll add Levi onto the didn't kill Arei list since him being the blackened is too obvious due to him being the killer, since he was revealed to be the one with the killer secret.
The Hu blackened theory's disproven, unless another plot twist happens I guess.
What I think the remaining secrets are:
The competition one belongs to Min
The blaming yourself for your family's death one is Xander
The self harm one is Veronika
The death game's your fault one is Teruko
And the Hopeless child one is Hu.
Reasonings:
Min one is because she did that Ultimate Student competition and such, I'm sure you've heard that reasoning before from someone else.
Xander is because the secret makes more since then what David said was his secret, not really much other then that.
Veronika is because she's easily bored and watches horror movies to have fun. The secret says that the person harmed themself for fun and took up their talent to distract them from this.
For Teruko it's because Xander killed her to stop the killing game some how, so the killing game seems connected to Teruko in a way. It makes since that she in some way caused the killing game, she probably didn't make it happen though. Who ever the mastermind is, they probably don't have this secret since that's too obvious.
For Hu it's just because it's the last secret, no other reason then that.
Who killer is, I think it's Arturo, for no other reason then I don't know who else it could've been. I guess it could be Rose, Whit's probably the mastermind so unless were going the THH route he ain't the blackened, Charles can't look at dead bodies. I don't see why Rose will kill anyone so we can knock her out, she has no motive that I can think of. I don't see Eden killing anyone, she seems too sweet and there's no evidence that she's secretly evil or anything. Arturo is constantly pushed back at in the trial though, and he seems the most willing to kill someone based on his reaction to Eden confronting him on his secret.
That's all I guess, feel free to agree or disagree
