so uhhhhhh how does diagnosing yourself w adhd work bc I just found out that my weirdness all my life is literally. matching up with adhd. so feeling a little weird (and amused) but ultimately I'll have to see if I'm brave enough to ask for an actual diagnosis </3

also it's worth noting that I've had MULTIPLE people say im probably adhd and exhibit symptoms fjsjfjsjd

#dang the good kid allegations were not true #to be clear i grew up in a very ableist environment #even w my attention issues i mostly had good grades and wasnt bouncing off the walls #so i was labeled. a good kid #and neurodivergent kids like adhd and autism etc. were labeled problem kids #its deeply amusing that they were wrong lol #ableism sucks ew #mari rambles #adhd #self diagnosed adhd #late diagnosed adhd #i guess that works?

the thing is that childhood doesn't just end when you turn 18 or when you turn 21. it's going to end dozens of times over. your childhood pet will die. actors you loved in movies you watched as a kid will die. your grandparents will die, and then your parents will die. it's going to end dozens and dozens of times and all you can do is let it. all you can do is stand in the middle of the grocery store and stare at freezers full of microwave pizza because you've suddenly been seized by the memory of what it felt like to have a pizza party on the last day of school before summer break. which is another ending in and of itself
