i love all of these songs dearly and there are genuinely very few i would actually skip if they came on. the farther down the list you go, the more wishy-washy i got with my decisions. there are some songs that i just don't listen to that often! i love all of käärijä's music, though, even if i prefer some songs over others <3

the dialogue. not only was the dialogue for each character distinct enough that i could tell who was speaking based on the dialogue alone, dialogue sounded like the characters. there were many times where i could almost imagine the dialogue happening “in game”, and several times where i thought “yeah they’d say that. yup.”

the sibling interactions between chai and peppermint were, to me, pretty feasible and in character.

i appreciate that the flashbacks were not only italicized but separated from the main content by an extra line.

peppermint trying very hard not to focus on her interactions with korsica (THEY BRUSHED HANDS) was relatable, tbh. also during the uno game i was vividly picturing a Live CNMN Reaction moment.

peppermint a) trying to make korsica win and b) making chai lose out of spite is DEFINITELY something i could imagine happening between the characters, nicely done.

you definitely got the idea across that peppermint is a sapphic disaster (mood), lol.

In short- the bugs of Hallownest did not take it well. Lots of screaming about "The end of the world" and "past sins coming back to haunt them". Elderbug almost had his second heart attack and basically every bug, other than the Pale King children and Quirrel, hid for several hours. (Zote likes to claim he was the first to make contact)

As for why Dewi's Dad is in Dirtmouth? Well, he wasn't very happy when his 11 year old son told him about going into a 'mysterious cave' to see his bug friends. Adult supervision and all that.
