That post that's like, talking about a real phenomena in fandom spaces but then ends with a screenshot of someone saying that fandom got bad when "normies" got into fandom during COVID lockdown has been driving me nuts. Why are so many people reblogging it. Like yes there are things that used to be more common in fandom I miss but almost every post like this is just blatantly ahistorical to make fandom seem like some magical safe haven that outsiders are invading. i think what's most agitating for me about the whole franchise (and i might be wrong cause im frankly no expert and i need someone to guide me if i am getting this wrong) is like... there is no distinguishable fashion trend from whatever we have in hotd to whatever we received in GoT, even tho fashion style actually rotates quite quickly when you look back in history. similarly, while i can see that there are some outstanding hairstyles distinguishing the south and the north, as well as the increasing use of fur and leather (for northerners vs the southerners) but liek .... thats about it ? I was a kid when BATMAN (1989) came out. It was a massive pop culture phenomenon, here in Holland too, and someone somewhere in television network land shouted out, “Quick! Batman! What do we have!”, and someone somewhere remembered the old TV show, and then someone somewhere dug up and dusted off that old TV show and pushed it into running a few more laps. This hopelessly Bat-crazed kid tho thought the show was hopelessly quaint and after a few episodes didnt tune in anymore same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

Annoying snarky tone aside, it’s actually a fun show. It has many fans still, and fans are never wrong.

One thing I only notice now: is that Clayface, between Catwoman and the knife-wielding Texarkana Phantom Killer? (Is that Catwoman?) Also, who are the two villains who lead the charge? There’s one who looks like Shaggy’s evil scientist uncle and a green-shaded one with a scaley mask. They seem too distinctive to be just generic villains. Sending out a Bat-signal to any Bat-fans…

-Sprunkis have short fur, which is what has their colors. Their skin is just.. like sphinx cat.

HORROR MODE:

-Jevin is in the cult, Sky is not.

-The cult is dedicated to Black

-The cult summoned Black, and kinda started horror mode

-Jevin was kept safe by Black, due to Jevin helping summon him. Sky was not spared, due to not being in the cult

-Jevin abandoned the cult after Sky’s death

-Durple and Simon were made ‘abnormal’ by Black to kill the remaining sprunkis. Simon decided to do his own thing, but Durple is staying loyal to Black

-Raddy’s suicide was faked by wenda. She didnt want the others to catch on to the ‘murder’ thing too early. Jevin was not fooled, but most of the others were.

-Jevin was investigating the deaths before Black got summoned, Tunner was also investigating, but separately (jevin x tunner isnt real it cant hurt me jevin x tunner isnt real it cant hurt m)

-Wenda started killing before Black was summoned, but after he was summoned they became partners in crime(?)

-The town that the sprunkis live in now has a ‘barrier’ around it, created by Black, no one can get in and no one can get out

Man i havent drawn anything in ages. Eh, might as well waste my time rambling about these guys.

Ok so i made these ocs like absolute ages ago, so mind their backstories being very cringe, but i also dont wanna change them, theres some kind of charm to having silly cringy ocs.

right, so, the yellow one is Bananaslug (bigender, she/he), and is a hive/rain hybrid (like duhh, u can clearly see that). her silly backstory was, starting with his parents (and mind that this made made up before arc 3 was finished), a hivewing, who like cricket(? was that her name? i havent reread the books in ages) wasnt effect by the shitfuck evil plant (for which basically, i hc that cricket wasnt the only one who wasnt injected with the plant, on a rare occasion queen Wasp would miss an egg or two, human error, er, dragon error and all that, usually this would be noticed in early childhood and they would be "fixed", but like with cricket, an occasional dragon gets unnoticed) managed to escape the hives as the plant takeover or whatever tf was happening happened, and followed behind the group of migrating silkwings. sadly they got swept in a storm which lead them astray to the rainwing jungle instead.

now i personally see the jungle as having an absolute shitload of little rainwing villages, some not even having contact with the main one! or even knowing anything about the outside world. this hivewing ends up in one of the villages that at most mightve traded bits and pieces with the main one, but has never seen non-rainwing dragons. the hivewing quickly gets accepted as a weird lil guy. and for once, this hivewing feels like theyre in a community where they belong, now being given freedom that they wouldve never had previously. they quickly adopt the hivewing way of life. Bananaslug then, the only dragonet they have, not for their lack in game, but more so due to pantalan and pyrhian dragons being genetically further apart, so having children with each other is extremely unlikely.

as Bananaslug got older, she lived through Queen Glory making an effort to actively contact all outter rainwing villages, and develing an in-tribe education system (the thingy mountain, forgot the name, that we follow the students of in the second arc, being presented as like one of the only schools is real stupid in my opinion), there, learning of other tribes she decides to go out and explore the world once hes come of age.

(oh and btw, Bananaslug, like, inherited nothing special from either parent, she doesnt have any hivewing powers, she doesnt have rainwing venom, and at most, he can slightly change the shade of his yellow scales, cant do anything with any other coloured scale tho)

the green dragon is Seaglass (agender, they/them) they are a sea/sand hybrid, no they do not have a tail barb.

they were born to 2 generals from the sandwing princess succession war, both the sandwing and seawing commanding over, urh man i can never remmeber army terms, fleets? groups of dragon soldiers. in most other cases, general/whatever leaders, of separate tribes would not get along, they might have had an allience, but that didnt change their internalised racism and all that, but these two got weirdly well along.

once, going out for drinks over celebration of a succecfull battle, lead to a drunken hookup and an accidental clutch of eggs. the seawing decided to leave them at the deep palace hatchery, paying good money to the caretakers there to not only take care of the eggs, but also be dragonetsitters when they hatched. sadly, all but one dragonet were born without gills (or partially formed/malformed once), never being even given the chance at a first breath. Seaglass was the only one hatched with functional gills, and even then, theirs are less developed that an average seawing, giving them the gill equivalent of asthma.

they rarely got to see their seawing parent, and didnt even know they were part sandwing till way after the war was over. as soon as they were old enough to be left mostly alone they escaped from the deep sea palace, wanting to start a new life somewhere where they wouldnt be seen as a freak.

(oh yes and, not sure where to put this, but Seaglass is missing some of the bioluminescent stripes (such as not having any on their belly scales) so they have always had communication issues. and of course, having grown up hidden away in the deep sea, they didnt properly learn spoken language (outside of the required theory for it in their schooling) untill they escaped.)

oh my god i nearly forgot to post this. here's my art summary for 2024! customary brick of text (including links to individual pieces) under cut.

i drew.. a lot of mcyt this year! as in "everything but April is mcyt". this is awkward because that means i dont think any of this actually ended up on this blog. i dont think i posted my pngtubers either. um. hm

pushing that aside, im really happy with how my art has evolved. ive gotten very comfortable with lineless art, and have been playing around a lot with shading, colors in general, and new brushes. (most of the brush testing didnt make it on here.) more than that, i feel like im getting better at anatomy and proportions and drawing people in general. sameface syndrome is always going to be a problem for me, but i like to think i can at least pull off different body types and thats something im going to continue messing with.

ive also been doing a lot of style switching. obv theres lined vs lineless, but also level of detail vs simplicity. i kinda do it based off mood so its not very consistent, but im fine with that rn.

the thing im most proud of is that i have a finished stand-out piece for every month (and some of them were actually hard picks). ive gotten down on myself before about whenever we hit an art slump, but even in months where we didnt draw as much we still had something that was cool we could show off.

im sorry we havent been as active on here-- again, we've been on mcyt lockdown-- but im looking forward to whatever happens next year. Rescue is still coming together, even if slowly, and we'll hopefully be able to post character design concepts. we're also considering maybe doing adoptables? we'll see.

Tamba is the character I put as my favourite pre-reaction so i remember her [Student X]. loving the contrast of attitudes between them(understandably) and i do actually like her a lot here!!!! tamba nation!!!!

theres a few shyboys in this cast and i think at least one of them has to be evil or generally has a personality change or something. right? But right now theyre all cuties <3 including hasagawa

Tribune Echowatcher (Ls1)

My design musings below

Literally only doing this bc I love Leo soooo so so so so so so much. I also in general just love character design So!

1st. I Know I wanted to push the limits of what Charr Look like, I know theyre big ""cats"" but whenever I design ocs I like to push boundaries and play with what aesthetic restrictions exist.

Hyenas came to me (i think, it was 6 years ago when I originally made him so my memory is foggy) because I saw Hyenas around Ascalon and thought, what a fun concept to play with.

I knew I really wanted the very clear shape of hyena ears to stay while also keeping the charr 2 ears, my only choice was to kind of shift the horn placement around. You can see that his ears cover half of the horns, and that theyre a further back on his head in general asba result. I really didnt want to limit myself with the shape of charr ears bc even though I love them, having a character with very clear rounded Hyena ears was too charming of a concept for me to drop.

2. I inverted the colors of a Hyena! Hyena cubs are actually born with black fur and then get a lighter shade as they grow as with many animals, but I thought it would just be a fun way to play with a more unique color scheme, a primary black/gray fur with orange highlights than simply keeping a more realistic and usual color pallet.

3. Spotted Hyenas have some shaggy fur! Its so cute! Its thinner around the neck which I thought was another key feature of the animal that I wanted to translate onto Leo.

4. His armor is definitely not what I consider to be super unique, I needed a ls1-HoT quick armor to draw him in, so I just threw shapes together. I did however want to keep his color coded: Green. Originally I was trying to find some huge complimentary color to add to his outfit but realized that the orange of his mane and spots was already complimentary enough that adding a different color or more to his outfit would feel like Too much. Thus I went with homogenous green/blues and silver for the metal color.

5. His nose...his head shape...his more "Canine" Features I guess are just huge charmpoints to me. Yes this is me just gushing about my love for my own character but if you clicked read more thats ur own doing. Ive said this before but Leo is Heavily Mexican coded, this plays into both his design and lore in a lot of ways.

Xolotl is the Nahuatl god of death, hes a dog! Dogs being a bit of a symbolism for companions in the afterlife and guides was really important to me, so its why I do really adore what canine features Leo does have (I know Hyenas arent canines but you can see the same kind of shapes.)

Id gush more but thats the big ones....

Leo became a Tribune of the Blood Legion, because bangar wanted one of his own reporting back on the growing power of the Pact and the Pact Commander that was less of a loose canon than Rytlock, especially as theyre investigating draconic threats with the underlying ulterior motive. For now, hes playing along.

Anyway i like denon slayer

Ive had a few various fic ideas and i just had another one so ill drop a few lil factoids from it

Au idea: the slayer's mark curse doesnt kill its user- it just turns them into a demon either by 25 or when put into a situation that would kill a regular human. In this au Rengoku survives because he activates the mark while thinking about Senjuro- and during that same fight instead of dying to akaza when he's brought into the shade he goes fupl demon—but akin to all docile demons-remembers who he is and his past and so holds the same ability of peace that Nezuko and the demons Lady Tamayo turns do.

First off I dont want the Ubuyashiki family to die so we're just gonna say they didnt by some blood demon art or something idk - either way they survive because I love the ubuyashikis

Later on during the final battle muzan manages to get away instead of being killed and making tanjiro demon king and the corps PANICS because what the fuck why are ALL THE HASHIRA TURNING INTO DEMONS???? (Shinobu because she believes her plan may fail and in the heat of seeing Douma activates her mark, Tengen activated his mark during the entertainment district to save his wives and the squad) And NONE of the corps is having it.

• Rengoku is SO not happy about not being able to go out in the sun anymore, but hes making the most of it

• Sanemi barely saved Genya and he is never going to let himself live that down. He almost lost his baby brother and he is NOT going to keep pushing him away

• Shinobu, Obanai, and Sanemi are THE most pissed about the situation, they had a feeling it would happen but goddamnit they really didnt want it to

• lets say Obanai activated his mark while defending Tanjiro and or Mitsuri, its a snake in between his shoulderblades

• Gyomei cried for HOURS when he heard everyones voices again for the first time - despite the circumstance

• Mitsuri is honestly taking this all the best, she likes her fangs and thinks she looks more like Nezuko--it makes her happy.

• Tamayo survives but barely--and thats thanks to Yushiro. While initially she tried to use the demon to human cure on the hashira, when it didnt work she was absolutely stumped--she had NO idea what to do, shes working on a cure but her main priority is something to weaken Muzan even more than before

• Giyuu is honestly a bit peeved he didnt die-- he misses his family and best friend damnit

• Muichiro is pretty indifferent about surviving, hes glad he can still be useful but now hes disgusted in himself just for being alive. Now he understands a bit of what Obanai was talking about that one time.

Im totally gonna have more im gonna make drawings on this and if anyone is intruiged i am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT taking asks on this (and in general, my inbox is forever open lol)

Infamous gangster tommy shelby found himself through a portal in modern times, what can go wrong

(takes place somewhere between seasons 4-6 of peaky blinders)

Chapter 3- in which tommy wants to go home.

"Sweetheart ,I didn't mean to upset you" he says,his voice not as sure. "You didnt" she answers him in a soft voice as she stands up to open the white wooden door,only a small pick, to look at the strange man in her apartment, "you just reminded me so much or him.." she says ,her voice full of strange melancholy. "What was his name?" Tommy suddenly asks, it was a polite way to continue a conversation, not that the name will ever matter to him ,"it was uh-" she looked up at Tommy's blue ocean eyes ,they were such a shade of blue that could make you drown in them, like someone bottled the ocean and put it inside him ,and just like the ocean ,his eyes were full of turmoil and sadness, a sadness no modern man will experience and she was falling in to it, "did he die?" Tommy suddenly interrupts, "no" she shakes her head ,"just left"..

"Well the past is in the past sweetheart" he says it in a way that makes his voice sound like a command, he was commanding her to forget, "what do you mean? Do you not ever think of people from your past?" She asks, challenging his views of the past, "i don't." He lies and looks to the side, how can he ever admit there hasn't been a day where he didn't think about grace, and John and greta and his comrades from the war and every single person he ever took from this world ,he could never wash their blood away, he looks down at his hands and then back up at the room around him, "right, I need to find a way back" he mumbles, "back where?" She interferes , "home." He says bluntly, "where is your home?" She tilts her head again as he starts pacing,he didn't even listen to her as he paced the small apartment, "i don't fucking know, it's.......right we need to find a gypsy "

"Again with the gypsy things.." she sighs "you need a doctor not a- romani person "she corrects herself "don't tell me what i need,I know what i fucking need!" He huffs and looks out of the window again,a pang of dread runs through him that he quickly masks with a mask of coldness and indifference "A doctor? I was transported through time, and you're suggesting a doctor can help?" He says with annoyance.

"If you won't help me I'll go me self" tommy was always resourceful and this time it was no different as he turned his heel to walk through her door to the world he knew nothing about, "wait hold on where are you going!" She yelps ,Tommy pauses midway to the door, his hand on the knob. He turns back to her, a mixture of frustration and determination in his eyes. "I have to find a way back, and I don't have time to waste with doctors who won't believe a word I say," he responds, his voice firm. Y/n bites her lip, she couldn't believe she is doing it but something about tommy was hard to resist, maybe because he looked so much like-, "fine fine I'll help you! Just stand right there ill grab my coat!" .

The cold air of bermingam bites at her skin as she pulls the coat over her waist ,tommy didn't seem to mind the cold at all ,he walks confidently looking around, if he was freaked out he didn't show it,his face as stoic as ever ,he was determined to find a tribe of gypsies to give him a spell ,a hope, anything.

"So uh what you gonna do when you find that gypsy witch " she runs trying to keep up with his long strides and his coat in the wind , "where are we even going" she asks again, almost like a child .

Tommy keeps a steady pace, barely slowing down to accommodate her shorter strides. He casts a quick glance at her, his expression still serious.

"When I find her, I'll request that she performs a ritual or uses her knowledge to try and send me back to me own time," he replies bluntly. "As for where we're going, I have a general idea of where the Gypsy community resides in this area."

"Oh simple enough " she sighs tiredly as suddenly he turns to her "do you own a car? It will be faster to get there" he says, "you know what a car is?" Her surprise just made him roll his eyes "I'm am from 1925, not 1295" he says with slight amusement, "right! OK well uh i ..do have a car but I am not sure you'd know-" without even hearing the entire thing tommy was on his way to the parking lot ,she sighs again as she pulls out her keyes, the small silver car beeped to signal to her owner and tommy confidently walked towards it as if he drove it for years "keyes." He says bluntly, "w..what ,no! You are clearly sick and not getting my keyes ,I'll drive!" She tries to match Tommy's confidence, "fine. Just drive to the nearest woods" he says bluntly and gets in to the passenger seat, "great it's a Tuesday morning and instead of going to work i do this" she mumbles to herself and gets in. Tommy slides into the passenger seat, shutting the door with a thud. He looks at her, a hint of understanding in his gaze. "Believe me, I'm just as thrilled as you are about this situation," he mutters sarcastically.

After a long drive, they finally find a semblance of a forest, tommy's awe at the high skyscrapers quickly died down as the familiar trees appeared . Tommy gazes out the window, taking in the dense forest surrounding them. He rubs his chin thoughtfully, his mind racing with possibilities. "So..what now?" She asks

"Now, we hike deeper into the forest," he replies. "The Gypsy camp should be hidden within the trees. It won't be easy to find, so we have to keep our senses sharp for any clues or signs." , "you can't be serious.." she looks at him with a tired expression . "You can stay in the car" he open the car door and steps out "fuck he is insane" she sighs and turns off the engine. Tommy doesn't acknowledge her mumbling, his focus entirely on the task at hand. He walks to the edge of the forest, his gaze fixed on the thick foliage."Come on," he called back, his voice all business. "We haven't got all day." His voice commanding and stern awakens something in her as she quickly follows him, this was HER time and he was running it like he already knows everything, such a strange man.
