The void was strange. He'd expected endless darkness, like what he'd see if he covered his eyes with his hands or a pillow or sleep mask. Emptiness was what he'd expected.

But it was far from it.

Millions of swirling colours filled the endless space, all swirling into one colour that looked close to black if he blurred his eyes. It was dotted with stars too, or that's what it looked like. The tiny holes left when Makars opened and closed it. From their distance it would look just like blackness.

One of those holes is where he came in from.

His once blue and human eyes had started to reflect it, colours swirling like a chaos ridden that looked pitch black unless someone stood really close to him, dotted with the white stars. His lips, if they could really be called that -- really a part of a silver mask no longer separated from his face -- moved quickly as he repeated the same words to himself.

"My name is Alexander Strike, everyone calls me Alex. I am nineteen years old. My father is Augustus Strike, my mother is Daisy-Grace Strike, my stepmother is Anastasia Tarquin. I have a brother named Drew Walther. He is twelve years old. My teacher is called Master Joseph Walther. He taught me almost everything I know. I am an air mage. I am a chaos mage. I have a girlfriend named Kimiya Rajavi. I have two other friends named Colton McCarmack and Yen Ly. I can't forget. My name is Alexander Strike." He repeated himself. He couldn't forget. He had to remember. He needed to remember himself. He couldn't lose himself in this place. "My name is Alexander Strike. I am nineteen years old. I was sent here by Callum Hunt. My favourite songs are Wastelands, Rebellion and Dividing By Zero. I am an air mage. I am a chaos mage. I am a murderer. My favourite time is at midnight. My favourite colour is blue. I wanted - no, no, I still want - to learn how to play guitar one day, Anastasia got me one but I haven't got lessons yet. I want to get pet rats eventually. I have a home. I have a family. My name is Alexander Strike."

He couldn't forget. He was a person. A whole person. A whole person with his own life and personality and hopes and dreams and people he cared about and people he had hurt and people he hated and people he loved and people he couldn't forget. He couldn't lose himself here.

"Callum Hunt sent me here. He is the reason for all of this. He - he did something to Drew... What... What... He hurt him. He definitely hurt him. And I need to get revenge because Drew can't now. And he killed my elemental. Skelmis. It was named Skelmis. And it was my elemental. I haven't gotten my revenge yet. And he sent me here. Him and his stupid friends--"

He stoped himself.

"My name is Alex Strike." He repeated to himself. He had to focus on himself. It didn't matter if he forgot about Callum or anyone else as long as he remembered himself.

"My name is Alexander Strike and I need to get out of here."

Happy Mother's Day

Mihawk's Master/Mom - A swordswoman who adopted the strange boy after his own parents neglected and abandoned him. She provides some stability and discipline to the angry child, and teaches him the way of the sword.

She appeared in my most recent fic where she is actually deceased by the time of the story. But I like to imagine a different version where she is still alive and has contact with Mihawk from time to time. She even visits Karai Bari and totally does not intimidate Crocodile and Buggy on purpose...
