hate fuck with nanami. he finds you so annoying and so fucking pretty, it scrambles his brain every time he sees you. worst part? feeling's mutual. you fuck with him constantly, and half the time you're flirting with him which he acts like it annoys him. it doesn't. it riles him up and he has to bite back with a slight hitch in his voice.

it's one particular argument that it all boils over with. neither of you remember what it was about, now when nanami has you pinned to a wall by your throat. to anyone passing by he looks pissed, but they can't see the way his pupils are blown and how they can't stop flicking to your lips.

I just think nanami from jjk is so neat. He pretends to be self-serving and it’s not entirely a lie, he’s super up front about hating the salaryman work ethic and hating work and begrudgingly choosing a career path that gets him good money and suits him well.

but I think it’s because he’s such a cynical character that when he makes it crystal clear that he knows and feels like he has societal obligations to the future generation, I was, sorry to put it in a sillay way, surprised to find that I was surprised by it. I know I’m putting the bar 6 feet under but he’s adamant about setting that moral point- that children should never feel they HAVE to bear this burden, that children should never feel bad about needing help, that while he chose this path, high schoolers shouldn’t fucking have to feel obligated to lay their lives down just because they have powers. That they are just that- children, and children should never be ashamed for being children.

jjk fans yall know that these children are no strangers to trauma. The fact that they had to mature well beyond their years in so little time is kind of par for the course at that school. So having someone like nanami there, a fucking upstanding citizen who’s not like, sweet, but has a moral backbone made of fucking adamantium- a guy who tells these kids who have seen more than anyone should ever have to see that it’s okay, you can leave it to us, and you don’t have to feel bad about it- is fucking invaluable. You can be weary of the world and the ways it has worn you down but still care.

there was nothing, nothing I wanted to see more than Gojo's mad state.

after everything (after what he considers his failure, Amanai's death, geto's injuries) his mind collapses, and in some sort of defense mechanism he stops feeling. he stops feeling bad about his "mistakes", Riko's death, Geto's injuries and his inability to protect them, he gives all of himself to the reverse cursed technique, and he ends up in that state. a state where he can only think ab how powerful he is, how he is objectively the strongest, the "honoured one". it was something fundamental for his character and for this arc- where he had difficulties using red&blue (akutami could have made up shorter names) before, against Toji he was able to use it in a second- and even hollow technique: purple, that is way more difficult and lethal than red&blue. and he doesn't stop feeling that way after Toji's death (that bitch). by killing Toji he technically should have avenged Riko and himself since it was probably the first time someone was able to beat him, but since in that moment he didn't really feel anything, he kinda did all of that on autopilot-it was the most logical thing to do, kill the man who had hurt Suguru and killed Riko and Satoru, the man who now was weaker than him. When he asks Suguru why he shouldn't kill the Star Religious group is because he doesn't see them as anything but useless, vile beings- and he doesn't see anything bad in killing them all. it was so important for his growth and for understanding his character, but Mappa kind of ruined it.

WHAT IS THAT? maybe I'm being dramatic (I am) but while I loved how Mappa animated Riko's death I hate how they portrayed Gojo's "madness". if I have to be honest, he was kinda ridiculous (especially in the second one- what's wrong with your mouth buddy?) when in the manga it's almost frightening how out of his mind he looked.

I would have laughed if I hadn't already been crying for half an hour over everything else
