i think one of things that peaked me was when i saw a TRA on twt saying the usual: jk rowling is a nazi blah blah and someone asked him where they could read a little more about it, they wanted to show their mom (who didn't speak english) about how bad jk was.

so this twt user just told them to go to jk's account and see by themselves. but again they say they can't just show that to their mom, they were probably looking for screenshots or links. mind you, this was very genuine. this person really wanted to know, they already believed jk rowling was a bad person but they didn't know why.

anyway, their questions were constantly met with aggression and mocking and "its not my job to educate you". just because they asked for evidence. there's something here to say about how TRAs have no proof of jk rowling being a nazi that wants to kill people and that's why when you ask for evidence you're meet with aggression and they'll assume you have bad intentions.

#anyway #this is just an anecdote #i found it very suspicious #this person refused to provide evidence #to a well intentioned follower #and then i realized #maybe theres no evidence bc she did nothing wrong

rule number one of being a handler: never, ever panic in front of the agent. if you stay frosty, then they won’t panic either. Reginald is going to hang on to these feelings and quietly have a crisis once they’re safely back at base, where Phoenix will never know.

#we all know that Reginald’s mask only cracks when he can’t actually find the agent and he otherwise takes everything in stride #he’s actually very careful with his emotions it’s just hard to realize bc he covers it up with quips and jokes #like in First Class when he’s like “enemies have found you. good for them!”#he definitely had a mini heart attack when he found that out and was desperately trying not to show it #plus he’s a smart guy and was already suspicious bc Phoenix would do stuff before he told them to #like two days after this the implications of dying dozens of times over will suddenly hit him and he’ll start asking more questions #but yeah the initial reaction i’d guess would be shockingly tame #thanks for the ask!#i expect you to die #ieytd #agent phoenix #reginald crane #the handler #my art #trying out type for the speech bubbles bc writing it takes foreverrrrr #feel free to keep the asks coming i am so bored all the time

Lucien's color skin

Recently, I've been seeing discourse around Lucien's heritage/skin color and it seems artists in this fandom can't agree on one skin color and feature (like archeron sisters' hair color💀) so I wanted to give my two cent on this, based on canon and sjm herself.

Feature:

So back in 2017, which is the year acowar was released, Charlie Bowater was commissioned by sjm to do a coloring book for acowar, mentioned in this post that sjm imagined Helion as Persian/Iranian.

And normally Persian feature contain strong, straight nose and most of the time with a bump at the top of the nose, definitely tick, black brows (unibrow are a symbol for Iranians and if you look at their traditional art style most of women and men have unibrow), and cat like eyes or as Charlie said tilted eyes.

I've seen so many artist draw Helion/Lucien with Black feature, which are not the same as Persian feature.

note: In these arts, there is a huge chance that they have the wrong skin color due to the belief that lighter skin color, the better or more beautiful. The classic racism... This idea isn't that potent in Iran anymore.

This is what Helion looks like based on that post and how sjm pictured him:

Thick brows and strong nose. It was also mentioned in the books that he uses kohl for his eyes which imo gave him away as middle-eastern.

Skin color:

Now this is what we have on Helion's skin color in acowar ~ chapter 43:

A golden cuff of an upright serpent encircled one powerful bicep, offsetting his near-glowing dark skin, and a radiant crown of golden spikes—the rays of the sun, I realized—glistened atop his onyx hair.

Acosf ~ chapter 41:

His dark brown skin gleamed over the strong muscles of his bare thighs and legs, ... ... and the spiked golden crown atop his shoulder-length black hair.

And for Lucien which we're gonna use the description in acowar ~ chapter 47 and not the one in acotar since sjm has retcon it:

Look at him. The nose is the same, the smile. The voice. Even Lucien’s skin is darker than his brothers’. A golden brown compared to their pale coloring.

Let's see Persian's skin range color:

Helion being dark skinned can mean many range of skin color. But sjm saying he is a middle eastern, it narrows down his skin color pretty well.

White-passing?

I also wanted to address why he's not white-passing since there's no such thing as white-passing. Even if Lucien's skin were white as paper his feature would've been pretty obvious. Do you call a black person who has Albinism, white or they're white-passing? It is clear that they have black parents/heritage but because of their condition their skin might not be the same dark skin as their parents.

The same can be said about Lucien. If his skin was the same as his brothers', his face would've betray him anyway but still sjm retcon it and turned his skin to golden brown. All the more reason that Beron is aware of him not being is blood son.

note: people are free to have their own interpretations ofc but I tried to prove this based on everything we have at hand :)

HMMMM THIS IS GOOD QUESTION…

ive seen a lot of people hc her as a teacher / professor so i!! think that suits her pretty well. specifically as someone who studies + specializes in different types of craft (that would be why shes so proficient in multiple craft spells. also how she was able to figure out the loops stuff, AND to find something that could prevent siffrin from looping back).

post canon i am not sure… i am always torn between how the party would handle things post canon. obviously they would keep travelling for a bit, odile alongside her family without the stress of. constant sadness encounters + a king to kill lol. i think maybe she would get to take her time, reeaally get to know vauguardian culture when not within. a crisis. as was her original intention.

eventually. EVENTUALLY. when the family settles down somewhere (i am a “they all get a big house together” believer lol) she would get back into craft stuff. maybe go back into teaching too—surely people would be eager to hire a saviour. especially though i think it would be neat of her to try looking into wish craft etc, as a long forgotten form of craft. to satisfy her own curiosity, for siffrins sake, or just as a way of preserving the countries culture in whatever ways possible.

I finished my research run and I'm left more confused

These 3 give the same 52 EXP and 25 gold

They were all used in the design of Lemon Bread. Obviously Woshua wasn't used in the final version unless we consider technicalities.

However: The other monsters used in other Amalgamates don't have this.

EXP, gold or stats, are all different.
