i saw a post pointing out that posts about the pelicot case barely get 10k note in this website bc the only people talking about it and following the case were feminists. even in a self proclaimed leftist website such an important case is not getting spread like wildfire and once again the only people who care about women are other women.
and this is just me but i've noticed it as well bc for certain platforms i have two accounts, one for feminist topics and resources and one for fandom and personal stuff. here in tumblr, to start, i only see people talking about the pelicot case here, in this blog only. my other blog is for fandom stuff and even if many people call themselves progressive and leftist, i haven't come across a single post about the case over there.
same with tiktok, i only saw well informed videos about it made by feminist organizations once or twice on my fandom account.
same thing with twitter, i only see other feminists talking about it on my feminist account only.
youtube is even worst. NOT A SINGLE VIDEO covering the situation. self proclaimed feminists and male allies who love to talk about social issues have not talked about it. i suspect it's because it would mean admitting there's an unbalance in heterosexual relationships, that women are more in danger with the men closer to them, that the rapists were regular men so a rapist can be ANY man and it would mean having a discussion about consent and kinks and of course that's a big no-no.
maybe it's just me. but i don't see women's issues being discussed unless i voluntarily enter feminism spaces.

imo women should be focusing more on body acceptance/neutrality than body positivity.
instead of the idea that every single woman on this earth is beautiful or conventionally attractive no matter what, women should learn that their humanity is not tied to how they and/or society thinks about their appearance.
also, the concept of beauty is patriarchal and subjective. it's better for women to get rid of the notion of being attractive entirely for women's liberation to happen.
you are still human even if you don't fit the beauty standard of the week. you are still worthy of respect even if you aren't seen as beautiful.

One thing about me is that I’m never going to fall for a social media smear campaign that paints a sketchy man as a feminist icon and a victim of a woman’s suddenly evil mastermind manipulative behavior. The minute those kinds of narratives start popping up out of nowhere I’m like oh, here we go again
But of course, no amount of serious allegations with literal proof can ever end a man’s career. Meanwhile seeing couple of viral tweets saying some variation of "yeah I never liked her vibes" are enough to make some of you act like complete fools and jump on the most disgusting hate trains against women who don’t deserve it
Loving men as a class too much literally rots women’s brains. They can see a clear pattern of male violence and misogynistic hatred repeated over and over again, and still choose to put blind faith in any random man. Please wake up and wise up
#prev tags#also the moment i read “she was bullying him!!!” i was like....#no she didn't#im sorry but that simply doesn't sound true#you people are desperate to believe women can be as bad as men
