Thanks to @orion-lacroix for the tag! I was gonna get to it earlier but... life happened and I forgor.
Eto bleh. Anyways.
(Also I'm writing this while incredibly tired, so I'm sorry if my English isn't up to scratch)
Writeblr Questionaire
How long have you had your Writeblr/writing Tumblr?
I've had this Tumblr account since the beginning of lockdown (March/April 2020 by us) and I created it because of a PM Seymour video. I made like one post that has now been banished to the void, then forgot I even had a Tumblr account until about ¿June/July? last year when a friend of mine brought up the idea of using Tumblr to share her writing, and I decided to do the same.
What's one thing you'd like your mutuals to know about you?
Due to reasons that include but are not limited to me barely having time anymore, I have a tendency to sometimes take a while to reply to people on here.
Don't worry if it takes like a week for me to respond, I'm just like that sometimes.
What's your favourite thing about the Writeblr community?
The amount of people who are infinitely more skilled than me that I can learn and take inspiration from.
Which WIPs or Writing Projects have you been Noodling about recently?
I've had a few emotional scenes for the Tempest Prince brewing in my head (plus I have like an hour with nothing to do after every exam I write, so daydreaming it is)
I'm also somewhat noodling for a small game I'm working on as a side project, but that's less story-related and more technical shenanigans at this point.
Do you remember what inspired them/got you started?
Children of the Stars I don't remember exactly what inspired the story aspect, but I know what the setting evolved from. Basically, I was a huge Mass Effect fan in primary school. Actually, I was a fan of Scifi overall but Mass Effect was peak gaming for me back then. Then somewhere along the line I played Bulletstorm and Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, and this half daydream of an Alien Empire locked in an eternal war for survival began to evolve in the back of my head before turning into the first recognisable precursor to Children of the Stars somewhere in late 2021.
Echoes of Shadows was inspired by the game Tails Noir, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, and a Call of Cthulhu campaign run by a friend of mine way back when.
The Tempest Prince was originally conceived of because my first playthrough of Bloodborne coincided with my first reading of the Percy Jackson books.
Is there anything you'd like to see more of on your dash?
Comics and short stories. Look, I don't have time to read a full length book until, like, November again, so a little episodic escape is a nice way to detox from the crap we need to deal with for these exams.
Name any characters you've created: side characters, protagonists, antagonists, characters who've never been written, the first original abomination you pulled from your rear... whatever you like!
Artemis is a Siberian ARX-11 mechanized shock-drop trooper who was deployed in a conflict so violent that future historians in-universe consider it less of a war than a outright cataclysm.
Quite literally, like the humble sea-turtle: she was born feet first into a hell she never asked for.
She's also one of the incredibly few Androids who not only survived the Fall of Earth, but after her inevitable 'death' by running out of fuel sources, she managed to remain intact for another six hundred years before a Union archaeology team found her and her enclave and managed to restore some of them to working order.
How much time- in your best estimation- do you spend thinking about them?
Outside the story of Children of Strife, this also makes her one of the oldest sentient beings in the known universe and technically the great great grandmother of almost all modern Androids and Biosynths.
It's also rumoured that she helped to raise a child orphaned during the fall of Earth who would grow up to be the military advisor of the first Empress, which technically makes her an important theological figure in the (now dying) Imperial cult.
Yes
Who's the most unhinged?
See, I'd say Adrian from Children of the Stars because he has a tendency to just do shit that makes you worry about his safety, but the thing with him is that he is fully aware of what he's actually capable of and is very cautious to not overstep those limits.
Lyanni, However...
One of Adrian's many nicknames for her is Miragran, which is Callistoan for "Big miracle", because that's what it must've taken for her to have not gotten herself killed yet.
Who comes the most naturally for you to write?
The fact that the answer is Adrian Castellan does not speak kindly about my mental health, does it...
Do you ever cringe at them?
How much control do you have over your characters? Do they ever write themselves, refuse to co-operate or do things you didn't expect? To what extent?
Not really.
Well, except for Adrian being a typical 27th century child who has no conception of sexism/racism/homophobia etc. beyond it being a footnote in a half-forgotten history textbook, which puts him in situations where it takes him a minute or two to realise that someone's being a prick to Lyanni.
I'd say I have relatively decent control over them. With the exception of the Haliday brothers in the Tempest Prince, 'cause they speak the same dialect of English as I do but I need to dial it back a bit because what's understandable for us has moments where it barely looks like English to foreigners.
And every so often I need to go back and un-Saffa their lines a bit because guess what? My dialect is annoyingly insistent on manifesting itself in these characters.
Are some less co-operative than others?
The old version of Adrian's character was really damn uncooperative. Like, he kept feeling like he was sitting on a story that he couldn't tell, and that was why he kept feeling like he was acting wrong no matter what I wrote him doing.
His current iteration tells that story in a way, and that element of tragedy playing into who he is has made him a lot more co-operative.
When someone asks the dreaded "What do you write about?" question, what do you usually say?
See, most people who know that I write are either close friends who already know what I write, or don't care enough to ask.
My grandmother, however, did ask the one time. That was also the day I realised that I know absolutely no scifi terminology in my home language.
Do you enjoy people asking questions about your characters and do you have a preferred way of receiving said questions?
Listen, if you wrote the question as a note, folded it into a paper airplane and threw it through my window, I'd firstly be very concerned about how in the nine hells you figured out where I live, then I'd be utterly ecstatic for the rest of the day because someone asked me a question.
I keep all my socials separate, though, so if you have any questions then asks, comments, and reblogs on Tumblr are pretty much the only way to go.
What makes you follow another Writeblr account? Do you follow them as you see them? Scope them out first to make sure you align with its content? Or do you follow based on WIPs or vibes?
Imma be honest there are like two people on here whom I followed simply because I know them IRL, and like three total writeblrs whom I followed first.
Everyone else followed me and I said "Ey, sha'p," before following back.
Do you interact with non-mutuals often?
I try to.
Do your mutuals' OCs occupy a space in your Noodle?
Absolutely!

fic writer questions
I wasn't strictly tagged by @liesmyth but I was told to do it, so that counts, in my book!
how many works do you have on AO3?
Precisely 120. I've not anoned or orphaned anything so that's the exact number I've ever posted, as well. (although I guess if it's just fics it's 118, because two of those are artworks, and even then it's probably 117 because I'm listed as a co-author for a fic I just had the idea for, and I will never touch that to change it because it was written by my friend Socks who passed away.)
what's your total ao3 word count?
921,788. We'll break a million at some point, I imagine. I'm a slow writer.
what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ever Decreasing Circles [Star Wars]: 2478 (makes sense, it's my only real multichapter)
Not Going Anywhere [Voltron]: 1832 (I have no excuse for this, the brief Klance lunacy at the beginning was a shameful moment)
Smile with the Rising Sun [DC Comics]: 1354 (this genuinely surprised me, I guess the people yearn for JayRoy Christmas fic?)
Fledging [Star Wars]: 1191 (this one makes sense, the people yearn for happy Skywalkers)
Kick the Beam [Dragon Age 2]: 1037
do you respond to comments? why or why not?
I do genuinely try to respond to all of them, I love getting comments most out of everything. If I didn't respond, it's because I forgor.
what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I don't really do unhappy endings, it's just not my style, but I think it's either Schwanengesang [Hetalia], a human AU where Gilbert freezes to death on the Russian front, or The Baffled King Composing [The Silmarillion], which superficially ends on a hopeful note but The Reader knows exactly what happens to these very characters, and it's not good, so the characters are blissfully unaware of their own doom.
what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
Write What You Know [Star Wars], I think. Not entirely sure. It's a lot more lighthearted, imo, and it ends with a wedding and a fuckton of money, so that seems pretty happy to me, lol.
do you write crossovers?
Not usually. It takes a very specific set of circumstances to make me write them, and that's the two different canons being able to mash together coherently in my head. I've written two, and the issue with those is they're both crossovers with fucking Neil Gaiman shit, which makes me annoyed because Sandman crosses over so fucking well with The Old Guard (When Shall We Threen Meet Again?).
(The other was Rise of the Guardians+American Gods. Don't know why I wrote that, it made sense at the time and does not in hindsight.)
have you ever received hate on a fic?
Only bot hate, unfortunately. I don't really write anything super controversial, I'm mortally vanilla, so I dodge a lot of aggro, tbh. There is an instance of something where I strove for historical accuracy, but even that only sparked an actual mature discussion on Twitter and not any flames. Context helped there, I believe.
do you write smut? if so, what kind?
Yes. I would say I prefer to write m/m, but tbh the most smut I ever wrote was for Shallura (to the point where that was my reputation lmao). I've struggled with it a bit over the last few years but I'm getting back into it. I tend towards like really fucking sappy emotional stuff between people who are in love, like I said, I'm very vanilla and not kinky at all, it doesn't interest me.
have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of. I don't think I've ever been big enough in any fandom to attract that sort of attention.
have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Three of them, two in Chinese for Write What You Know and The Jacket Fic, and one in French for a Free! fic. I like it when people ask first, but I will usually give permission. :>
have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not actively. I'm a co-author for the fic mentioned in the first question, but other than that, nothing. I'd like to, though, I feel like the accountability would be useful to me, lol.
what's your all-time favorite ship?
This is not a question that's possible to answer. I hyperfixate and then move on while maintaining a general fondness for the old ship once I've switched fandoms. So it's more of a current OTP thing going on than One Ship to Rule Them All. Also there's things I've shipped really strongly and never written anything for. At the moment the big OTP is JoeNicky, before that it was DinLuke, before that it was Wangxian and so on and so forth. A comprehensive list would be tedious.
And the HMS Terror, of course.
what's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
I'd like to finish my handful of DinLuke WIPs, but I don't exactly foresee that happening now. I've pretty much moved on (although to be fair once you've been into Star Wars it does become a cornerstone of your personality, a bit like Tolkien). I will try extremely hard to finish the Battle of Yavin Anniversary Gala one, at least.
There's also a Glorestor fic I've had jangling around in my head since 2014, in two different iterations, but when that will ever be actually witten is anybody's guess, lol.
what are your writing strengths?
I'm never good at self-analysis, tbh. I think my prose is pretty good in general, and I'm good at character voice and staying in character. I've been told I'm good at developing well-rounded and enjoyable OCs with very little actual information on the page, so I'll call that a strength because it doesn't detract from the canon characters.
what are your writing weaknesses?
Action: writing punchy, effective scenes that are actually exciting to read is really freaking hard, especially with any form of combat. There are only so many ways to describe a swordfight. Environmental description: people who take three paragraphs to describe a room are fucking insane, I'm sorry, I can use my imagination perfectly well, thanks. Smut: I'm ace so I always feel like a goddamn imposter, despite the fact that I've also never been a freaking Jedi, or I've never been to Renaissance Rome, and yet I'm perfectly fine writing that.
what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Depends on the context. I am guilty of huge blocks of text in other languages (conlang or not) but I do try and always include interactable footnotes for those. Like idk, learn Italian ya wimps, lmao. I've put whole speeches in Mando'a in Ever Decreasing Circles, and bits and pieces of other languages in Old Guard fic. That said I will always, ALWAYS transliterate if it's a language that doesn't use the Latin alphabet. Never leave that shit unreadable for people. I can't read Mandarin, I can't read Cyrillic, if you put that in the text all I am reading is Charlie Brown adult noises, it's like hitting a brick wall (as much as my transliteration requests constantly annoy the people who help me translate those languages, sorry guys!). Also, unless it's a single word, never use Google translate ever. Always find someone who actually knows those languages and get them to do a quick translation for you. The global nature of fandom shouldn't make it that hard, it's not really an excuse for using Google translate. It'll stop your bilingual readers' eyes from bleeding.
(I did always swear to myself I would never put random endearments in other languages if the characters were speaking English in general... but I've failed miserably at that by now, lmao.)
what was the first fandom you wrote for?
Naruto, in like 2007/2008. I never transferred those fics over to Ao3, they're too old and terrible.
what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
When I was in the Mo Dao Zu Shi fandom I really wanted to write some Wangxian, but I was far too intimidated by the fandom. A lot of people on Twitter talked about how white people shouldn't be writing any fic for it and I internalised that heavily to the point where I just... didn't. Looking back it was a little silly of me, no one is the sole arbiter of what should and shouldn't be written and what counts is doing research and being respectful, but it's too late now. I have written a little bit of SangCheng now and that's enough for me.
As for the future, who knows? I do not control the hyperfixation.
what's your favourite fic you've written?
Even in Another Time [The Old Guard] and Toccata [Hetalia] (yeah, sue me, I'm still proud of it 12 years later, it still reads well).
Now I get to tag people~
@dangerouscommiesubversive, @wingsofbadass (sorry I make you translate so much stuff), @veradragonjedi, @non-un-topo, @raedear, @maered613 and @ctrldao3.

blorbo battle to the death
sorry this is sorta messy I may make another intro later
Who do you think would win in a battle against two characters? Or a team. Submit characters (either two characters, or any amount split into two teams) and see who would win in a battle to the death. Despite the name (which I may change) ‘spare’ options will be available. Note that all powers a character has may be used in battle. I’ll do some research (look at fan wiki) and list some abilities the character has if relavent for the voters. You can submit OC’s but please tell me what abilities they have (you don’t have to but it helps the voters.) you can also clarify notes such as “x can’t access their powers cause they come from sunlight and it’s night” or “team x has armor but no weapons, team y has weapons but no armor” if you so wish.
the default options are
X wins (kills Y)
X wins (spares Y)
Tie (both alive)
Tie (both dead)
Y wins (spares X)
Y wins (kills X)
Other (please explain in tags)
Results
but you can ask to add another or two or three options (up until the limit which I forgor) when submitted. You could also ask to have certain ones removed, EXCEPT you can not make it so one character is unable to win (ex. No ties ✅ literal battle to the death only one can make it ✅ Y can’t win ❌)
submissions are done via askbox. If you want to be tagged in the post do it off anon, if you don’t want to do anon. You can also add extra notes such as ‘x beat y once’ if you think it would be helpful.
sorry if anything like this has been done before I tried to search for some and the only similar ones I saw were brackets (this isn’t a bracket) so uh. If there is another. Oops my bad.
feel free to submit anyone. Or anything. You can have a single grain of salt as one of the opponents if you want.

⭐ all the combos let's goooo
MULTIMUSE MEME: Send a " ⭐ " and I will list muses I would be interested in throwing at yours, or potential muse combinations if you are also a multi.
okay i get the feeling its gonna get long and im taking in the ones in your active tag but if you also want to expand on this and or other combos lmk...also not putting down anything we have talked about already...also kinda cheating and adding the guys from scoops hehhee also also there are some combos i might be interested in but like i wanna wait until i know more about the characters so ill dm you about those specifically...also edit i forgor giselle was here so... adding that to the mix
julie & villanelle
baby murderer meets grown up assassin, there is like these differences between them that would make an interaction kinda funny??? there's a lot julie could learn and idk it would be a good thing to explore...maybe the difference on why they kill and how they see killing like idk idk that's interesting to me...julie used to be the popular girl, she kinda is still....something we can cook there
fiona & martha
so fiona is a girl from the 16th century dropped into the modern world to reunite with her husband...perchance she could be a time anomaly, something funny there. martha has time traveled, has endured things for the sake of guy and has had that whoops what did i get myself into moment...which i think is one funny because it paralelles what fiona goes through but also like idk something IS HERE...friends....fwiendship....
patrick & aimee
oh well i could give him a st verse and like ...heheh hoo hoo bad boy alert, but there's this myths and shit that are so untrue about him. so like that could definitely be funny to explore, also he is a pretty guy and can be emotionally open and understanding !! hell we could even recreate the movie plot with st in the background jkhrkjhg there is SOMETHING HERE OK?
patrick & adam
oh damn two guys ...two dudes with a bad reputation and while adam is more angry than sad patrick is kinda more like stoic and sad than angry,, idk neither of them like opening up so maybe they can hangout and not talk about their feelings at all until they grow emotionally and idk be a safe space for each other but like in the cool guy way
richie & dustin
ummm mike's annoying queer cousin....he is like a funny lil kid, i think there isnt necesarilly a funny lil kid his type of brand in the party, he also is a geek (not a nerd) so putting them into situations would be fun, also lil kid who has also dealt with weird ass happenings in one's town so he would be extra annoying i think ! funny banter here...also them bickering at each other is a guarantee ! fun !
alice & el
alice's st verse has her as an experiment, so hehehe hooo sister's vibes. she is also very much different from the people el usually surrounds herself with, she is very much a weird girl, and her powers have developed way past the default here...also bonding over their share trauma,,, she also has a scientist dude who basically killed her family and alice wants him dead...so like hehehe fun stuff there
aimee & luna
listen aimee is part of the pack, luna is in the pact, she isn't as clueless as aimee can be but i feel like they both can be girls, girls, so i think a friendship is definitely in order ! also another dog friend who doesn't want that ???
clem & luna
wow the way luna would absolutely take in clementine in as a younger sister, i think even though kane tries i feel luna and clem would connect a bit better over the whole turned into a wolf thing, especially because i think luna also got turned by necesity like clem did, also clem has this edge that kane also ocassionaly has but luna actually lacks...luna might learn a thing or two from clem
anamaria & muireann
mermaid and pirate, maybe ann gets attached to anamaria, and now anamaria has a whole ass mermaid to deal with...a whole ass feral mermaid, but maybe muireann has her back...can help anamaria kick ass hehehe
joe & giselle
wow ?? repeat customer at her tavern...an annoying lil guy who can bicker with her? he is also sorta friends with dave, since they kinda go back. a fun way for giselle to find out about dave's past like the parts he doesn't disclose necessarily...but also maybe a fling,,, he's a fun guy to be around most of the times,,, i think kghkjsdhfjsf
ophelia & giselle
wow two of the most important women in dave's life, would be fun to compare and contrast....they both ran away from what was home and family to them. so that's hehehe hooo ?? ophelia is also a lil weirdo sometimes. and i think she definitely needs feminine energies in her life especially someone that has a strong personality like giselle, teach her your ways ... perchance?
rosa & morgana
hehe hoo hoo witches magic users on opposite sides of the good evil spectrum? interesting very interesting. we could do like a modern thing for them or maybe even make it high fantasy...maybe friends turned rivals turned enemies, they would be at odds on the topic of use of dark magic...and if they were friends at some point wouldn't that be a lil sad :((
