°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°♡• PART 1 •♡°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Warnings: 《mutual attraction. alcohol consumption. HINTS of dom|sub kink. angsty Quinn. posessive Quinn. cheeky Quinn. slow burn.》
Pairings: Quinn Hughes × Fem!Reader
Synopsis: You have been childhood friends with the Hughes' brother's and regularly kept in touch. Now that you all were in your 20's, the brother's and their friends invited you out for the weekend to celebrate the 4th of July. However despite having a lifelong crush on the eldest brother, Quinn, it seems this weekend celebration will be full of jealousy, lust and wet dreams coming true.
A/N: Part 2 will be a continuation of this plot. It will contain acts of sex and intimacy and will be much more filthy and.. nasty ( I will be sure to put it in the warning when I post). This is just becoming too long to fit into one singular post (🥲). Apologies for any weird formatting, as this was all written on mobile. Enjoy! ☆

"Get out of the hot tub, now."
The usual gaunt and calm demeanor of Quinn's was nowhere to be seen as his command dripped heavily with authority, vacancy, and a bit of disgust. No, actually, a lot of disgust.
And he was speaking to none other than you in this instance.
"Ah.. well just let her stay in a bit longer? She's literally still shiver-"
Quinn didn't utter a word yet simply glanced through Jack with his deep, olive gaze. His brother knew then that something far more serious was transpiring and decided not to test his older sibling on the matter. Especially when it came to the subject of: You.
"Quinn, I'll get out in 10 minutes. And if you have anything to say to me after then we can talk," you retorted, not bothering to meet his sharp eyes.
"Fair. I'll be inside then and set a timer for 10 minutes. Make sure you're inside by then, y/n," replied Quinn.
Abruptly Quinn turned on his heels, hands sunk low into the pockets of his denims; walking back towards the house.
His bold line made your eye twitch and your confusion deepen.
"I'm not a child, you don't need to set a timer Qui-" before your womenly rage had it's time to manifest, Quinn cut you off as he continued his gloomy descent indoors.
"If you don't want to be handled like a kid, then maybe don't act like one."
With that, he gingerly closed the patio doors behind him, no further words exchanged between you two. The absence of him leaving in that way, his words, had a rush of anxiety waving over you. However, it didn't compare to the pain he had inflicted on you just 20 minutes prior.
+×+×+×+×+×+× 20 minutes earlier ×+×+×+×+×+
You sat quietly alone at the marbled island in the kitchen as you mindlessly swirled around your solo cup of, you guessed it, Coke Zero.
Normally, your choice of poison was a boring whiskey and coke but not today, or for the majority of the weekend, it seemed. The legal drinking age here was 21, which you didn't turn for another 3 months. However, the legal for you was 19 back in your province, so you'd been inebriated more times than you could remember since turning of age.
You didn't drink much or that often, for that matter. Yet seeing the brother's and all of their friends enjoying their buzz and quirky cocktails, you couldn't help but endure a terrible case of fomo.
"Y/n?" spoke a gentle voice over your shoulder.
Swiveling around in the barstool, you locked eyes with Luke and Jack. Your gaze softened at the sight of them both, the cheeky older siblings you never had.
"Hey guys," you spoke softly, feeling instantly more relaxed in their presence.
Jack pulled out a small bottle of whiskey from behind his back and dangled it in the air as if it were a prize he had just won from the carnival.
Your eyes widened in amusement as you caught on as to what they were insinuating.
"Really?" you teased, crossing your arms over your bust.
There's no way they would allow you to have a drink, especially after Luke prewarned you on your arrival.
Supposedly Quinn had chatted with his friends prior, that they were not to give you any alcohol. At all.
"Look, we know you can drink back in Canada.. and it's the weekend of the 4th. We just felt a little guilty seeing you in here all alone-"
"I'm not alone guys, I've got Miso right over ther- wait, where's Miso?" you groaned as you kicked your legs off of the high stool and began searching for your dog who you had brought along with.
Glancing through the massive patio doors behind the two brothers, there you witnessed your 120 lb pup living his best life with Quinn and some of the other guys. Miso was playfully galloping after them, frisbee in mouth.
"Well I stand corrected, I am all alone," you chuckled light heartedly, while throwing your hair up in a rose gold, claw clip.
God, how was it so hot in the States, you wondered? It also didn't help that you were in a long, blood-orange hued sundress. You felt your best when dressed modest and with those you were comfortable around. Plus, growing up with strict parents and in a cold province, you weren't used to showing off your supple skin.
However, you did pack a few new, tastefully scandalous bikinis to wear for the hot tub as the lush infity pool in the back was out of question. How you envied those who could swim.
Instead, you settled and prayed that in the mornings, you'd be able to sneakily make your way to the soothing tub for some much needed you time. You assumed most of the guests and brothers would be hungover and find sleeping in more appealing than waking up at 5 am, rather than going for a morning dip in the hot tub.
Averting your gaze back to the two, they walked past you and into the kitchen where you watched Luke pull out 3 shot glasses, lining them gently on the countertop.
"But don't get too excited, y/n. We can all take 1 together and maybe sneak you another one later... but that's only if you'd like, alright? Listen, you don't even have to take this with us if you don't feel comfortable. It's completely up to-"
"You both are my angels, thank you. But please just pour the shot," you giggled, flashing them an appreciative smile while sitting back on your stool.
You felt grateful that Quinn had brothers who were respectful towards you and others. Brothers who had no issues in a simple "no" if need be said. And boy, did you say no quite a bit to them due to your social anxiety and shyness.
Being handed over a shot, you clasped the cold glass between your slender fingers and anticipated yourself for your insides to burn. Embracing the deep, oaky warmth that was about to glaze over you.
Cheersing the boys with big smiles all around, you held it up to your plump lips, about to throw it back in one smooth motion before the dainty glass of amber liquid is snatched from your hold. A few drops of whiskey swish out and over onto your dress and breasts.
Turning over your shoulder, you see Quinn towering over you as if summoned by the Gods, the shot in his hand. He sets it down away from you on a glass table end in the living area.
"Wasn't us!" piped up Jack deviously as they both tucked their shots behind their backs (and tails between their legs) and made a beeline past Quinn and out the patio doors.
Shooting Quinn a deep side eye, you jumped off the stool and brushed past him to get to the kitchen sink to clean yourself off. All thanks to the captain of the NFP.
No fun police.
"C'mere. I'll help you."
Quinn placed a firm yet delicate hold on your forearm, leading you to the other side of the island. Trailing behind him like a lost puppy, you could only watch the back of his hair bounce lightly with each step. It was still quite damp and slicked back. He must have been in the pool.
Opening a cupboard, he reached upwards and, with ease, grabbed a blue cotton cloth from the top shelf. As he motioned upwards, you couldn't help but leer like a pervert at all the muscles in his back flexing.
You felt your face burning and your nervous system begining to falter. The chokehold that the eldest Hughes' brother always had over you was something you had been trying to shake off for years. At this point, you needed a lobotomy or to be medicated to get over all that was Quintin Hughes.
Quinn turned back around with the cloth dampened in soap and pulled on the fabric of your silk dress without question. You both were extremely comfortable around one another.
Always were since kids.
Gently tugging around your bust, he was exposing more of your modest cleavage, and you were definitely not adorning an irritating bra in this heat today.
Looking up at Quinn, you noticed his face was slightly starting to deepen in shade. God, he looked so cute whenever he got flustered. Clearing his throat awkwardly, Quinn, to your surprise, proceeded to chastise you.
"You've always been my messy girl," he murmured to himself.
Hissing, you told him to shut up and snatched the cloth from his hand, similar to how he had done with your whiskey.
"YOU dropped it on me, Quinn. Thanks for your help, but I don't need you looking down my chest any longer," you quip back, a tone of deep teasing in your voice.
"Maybe it was all just a plan to finally see your big -"
"Oh, Quintin! Don't you dare be talking about my chest, or I swear to -"
"Your big smile," he finished, not hiding his cheeky grin at all.
Rolling your doe-eyes, you couldn't help but stick your middle finger up at him, like the brat that you were whenever in his presence.
Quinn, within a blink of an eye, grabbed your finger and began to twist it playfully around you, as if you two were wrestling.
However, this time, he had effortlessy wrapped his frame around your burning silhouette. Positioning himself steadily behind you, enclosing a tight fist around your palm while his other arm snaked around the lower end of your waist. He pulled your plump rear tight into his lower abdomen and held his upper weight on you as he pinned you against the counter. Your breasts were pressed firm against the ivory marble, spilling further out of your sundress.
Not being able to help yourself, you were stupidly aroused. You found yourself mindlessly swaying and grinding your hips into him, as if lost in the trance of a song that wasn't playing. You hadn't had a sip of alcohol but in this moment, you were lost in his touch completely.
God, did you feel terribly intoxicated by Quinn's charisma and body.
Without being able to see his face and usual blank eyes, you could hear Quinn's breath sharpen tightly and his cock begin to harden against you. The thin silk of your sundress rubbing against his manhood, as if he owned you.
Suddenly, Quinn let go of you while simultaneously pulling you back up and pushing all that was you away. Friends, yet strangers once more.
Spinning around, you tucked a few stray strands of hair behind your ears and looked up at him terribly embarrassed. You pushed a line somehow and could read from his body language that he wasn't okay with it.
"Quinn, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-"
"I promised your Dad I wouldn't let you drink while you were here."
Huh.
Pardon.
You simply stared at him dumbfounded and nervously let out an involuntary giggle.
"Funny, Quinn. I haven't been home in months, nor have I really spoken to Dad lately, so just say you're not comfortable with me drinking," you reply, a light-hearted tone to your voice.
It was true. The relationship you shared with your father was complicated. He worked hard throughout his life to make sure you were cared for, loved, and nurtured. Sure, his ways of showing it and teaching it was... not conventional to the majority, but you knew he adored you. All of you.
Through your terrible depressive episodes. When you gained over 80+ lbs to when you hit your gym phase. He accompanied and supported you through every change. Physical and mental.
Yet since moving out, you both had become distant and shared an obvious disconnect. You were learning and exploring more of the world without him and Mum; ever changing. Whereas he forever seemed to see you in the light of his meek, yet artistic little 5 year old. In need of protection, constant reassurance, and one-on-one attention.
You were trying so hard to find yourself on your own and you always knew your parents meant well, but to know that your father had no trust in you and felt the need to reach out to Quinn and forbid you from drinking, was disappointing in a way.
"Y/n, I'm not joking. Your Dad just doesn't know a lot of the people here, and he was worried... Which I understand. He trusts you completely, and so do I. He knows you can handle your own. He just worries and loves you like I d-".
Quinn stopped himself abruptly and brushed his hand through his unruly hair in mild distress. You'd seldom seen him like that, growing up. Fighting within himself.
His dark locks were starting to dry since coming out of the pool, curling at the ends and glistening in the golden hour that was beginning to shower through the windows.
Softening your gaze towards him, you understood where he was coming from and the weight of his and your Dad's concerns. You saw the same protectiveness in him.
"I get it Quinn.. actually, I-I think I'll, um, go give him a call and let him and Mum know what we've been up to today," you spoke, reaching for your phone off of the countertop. You suddenly felt insanely guilty.
"Of course, y/n. You give them a call while I get something from my room. And I'll meet you down here in 10? Let me make you something to eat, kitten. I haven't seen you eat anything since you came and I know you can't usually stomach anything when you fly."
Kitten. His only pet name for you. And rarely did he ever use it. So when he did, the weight that one word carried made your soul weep with love.
You couldn't help but get teary-eyed. Of course, he remembered how anxious you got on planes. Of course, he knew how you had your moments of struggling to fuel yourself. Of course, Quinn would always look after you.
Reaching forward, you placed a tight hold on his bicep and pulled him in to you. Placing a soft, small kiss on his cheek, you pulled away and gave him a big smile before turning on your heels and heading towards your room to call your folks.
+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×
About 20 or so minutes had passed, and Quinn wasn't back yet. Your call with your Dad had gone exceptionally well. You reassured him you were alright and that Quinn was truly taking care of you, which made him sound more relaxed at the end of the call and, in general, content. It soothed you, knowing he was happy.
As soon as you hung up, you raced back upstairs in anticipation, thinking Quinn was waiting for you in the living area. He was never late.
However, he wasn't there. You even gone as far as to text him to let him know you were laying on the recliner under the pink, frilly blanket. Yet there was no rush to come and accompany you by all means. You were sure he was busy with his friends and hosting.
Unfortunately, when 10 minutes became 20 and he hadn't read your messages, you couldn't help yourself nor your impatience and impulsiveness.
Deciding to trudge up the many stairs towards Quinn's bedroom, you found yourself becoming giddy with excitement. You felt so deeply for him in this moment and only wished you could profuse to him how much you loved him to his core. You swore you had felt some type of reciprocation in the kitchen earlier by him. Perhaps not the sentiments of love, but you felt that Quinn did share some type of romantic feelings for you, right?
The younger Hughes' brothers had shown you earlier all of the bedrooms and living situations for the weekend when you had arrived. Thankfully, you were given the entire basement to yourself, which included a kitchen, living area, private balcony, masters and bathroom.
Eyeing each door that passed you in a blurry haze within the vast never-ending hall, you end up at Quinns door. Taking a deep breath in, you twisted the knob slowly so as not to scare Quinn. He was always a skiddish boy growing up. Especially when Luke, Jack, and yourself loved to prank the more serious brother growing up.
You couldn't even open the door fully, as a crack was enough to make your heart sink and brain numb.
Quinn sat on the edge of his bed, holding a small hand viscerally in his larger one, cooing sweet words towards someone. You watched helplessly as your throat dried, and he pulled her hand up to his lips, kissing it tenderly.
"I'm always here. Forever. I promise you that."
Those were words you dreamt of hearing from Quinn in regards to yourself. Instead, you got the hard side of him or the teasing side or the cold side. The tough love.
You longed to be cared for and adored by him. Especially to be laid in his bed while he sat by your side.
Through teary eyes, you realized that the beautiful woman laid in his bed was, in fact, his ex-girlfriend.
Silently. Discreetly. You closed the door. As if you were a ghost. One that couldn't move on. Not seeking vengeance. Yet forever haunted by what you witnessed. And missed out on.
Hastily, your feet carried you back towards the hall in a frenzied mess and down the stairs as gentle sobs came out of your core.
There was no point still in thinking, dreaming, even. You and Quinn Hughes meant nothing more than friends. You felt even more embarrassed that you had essentially come onto him in the kitchen. Jesus Christ, y/n.
Just as your father saw you as a fragile little child, Quinn would always see you in the same light.
Yet, in your hazy, love stricken mind, you had sworn you had heard remnants of Quinn's sultry, soft voice call for you. Perhaps even shout desperately, as you made your cowardly escape back into your secluded basement. Alone again.

Bodyguard (John Wick x Reader) Pt. 4
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi! sorry im awful at uploading lol. my personal life rn is on fire and i haven’t had all the time in the world to write, but managed to pull this chapter together so :) thats coolio.
Words: 4.7k
Warnings: swears, violence, a lil fluff
“So, tell me everything.” June smirked, leaning over the table towards you. You had managed to meet the girls on time, only a few minutes past twelve- thirty. The three of you got seated shortly after, and ordered your cocktails; beginning the rounds of catching up you had to do. The restaurant is diner themed, set in the 1950’s. One wall of the building was a bar, fit with barstools, an ice cream machine, as well as a soda machine. There was even a section where you could order homemade candy. Little booths scattered the wall across from the bar, and tables separated the two. The floor was checkered design donning many muddy footprints and the walls were covered in old-timey photos of local streets. You and the girls sat at a booth, June and Dottie sitting across from you.
“Okay, get this,” You began, leaning in towards your friends, “Santino, you know, mio cugino pazzo. He’s mad at my father and is trying to kill me for it.”  ‘[My crazy cousin.]’ You finished and took another long sip of your cocktail. June and Dottie stared with their mouths agape. You calmly set down your drink and smiled shyly, eyes bouncing between the girls. You loved your friends, honestly. The three of you have been close since you were young teens. June and Dot also had connections to the Italian mafia, their fathers having run a section of both New York and New Jersey; although they aren't as intertwined as you. June is the oldest, one year older than yourself. She’s an old soul, that you know for sure. She wears dated clothes and uses dated household items; in fact, you can't recall June ever purchasing something new from the stores you and Dot go to. Hell, even her car is a 1978 AMC Pacer. Dottie is only a few months older than you, on the other hand. She is the spitting image of a pinup girl. She wears her hair in elegant waves and has bangs, she even wears button up dresses and has big hair bows for when shes feeling fancy. You can’t recall a time when she didn’t wear red lipstick nearly everyday.
“Should you even be outside?” Dottie whispered, leaning closer to your figure. Her New York accent was a little amplified by the drinks she’s had already. You shrugged as your answer, and June scoffed.
“You, (Y/N), are unbelievable.” The waiter to walked up to your table, halting your conversation. The three of you blinked at the other, little grins holding back giggles ready to erupt. The waiter asked for your orders, then as soon as the young man had left, you jumped right back into it.
“You guys should see my bodyguard.” You spoke, a smirk donning your face. Your mind wondered as to what he was up to right now. Maybe he's still sitting waiting for you to exit the bathroom, or, maybe he's already begun the witch hunt.
“Ah, yes. John? As you've mentioned. Show us! the way you've described him- He sounds gorgeous.” Dottie eagerly bounced in her seat, urging you to show them a picture. You pulled out your phone, stomach dropping at the several messages that donned the lock screen; John’s contact name on each one. Witch hunt is it.
12:47: Very funny. Where are you?
12:59: Where are you.
1:13: (Y/N). This isn’t a game.
1:21: I’m coming to find you.
At least it took him almost an hour and a half to notice. You bit your cheek, looking up at June and Dottie. The two girls were engaged in conversation, talking about something or another. You cleared the notifications and unlocked your phone, hoping to god you got to finish your lunch before John caught up. You opened the camera roll and scrolled through until you found a picture of you and the bodyguard. Somehow, you'd gotten him to agree to a photo. He was bent over so his head was level with your own. Due to the lighting, the man was squinting, however the dark gaze caused a chill to form down your back. You cleared your throat and flipped your phone around to show the girls. Dottie stopped talking and immediately looked at the screen
“Oh my god.” She murmured, sitting back and putting her hand over her chest. “He’s so handsome.” June grabbed the phone from you to get a better look.
“You have to fuck him.” The eldest commented with a nonchalant shrug of her shoulders. You let out a short laugh, snatching your phone back from the girls grasp. The two girls giggled at your embarrassment, Dot even took a coy sip from her drink.
“Was that gray in his beard? How old is he?” Dottie asked, looking you in the eye and sipping on her own cocktail.
“Don’t laugh, okay? He’s mid fifties.” A blush crawled across your cheeks as your words escaped your lips. June and Dottie blinked a couple times before Dot finally let out a snort.
“Going geriatric, now? hm?” June spoke, raising her brow and taking a gulp of her drink. While Dottie laughed at June’s question, you glanced over their shoulders, witnessing two burly men sit down at a table across from yours. One of them made eye contact with you, glare evident in their gaze, before looking back to their buddy. You felt your skin crawl and cleared your throat, pushing the feeling away. June’s laughter brought you back, now looking between the two girls again.
“Well, He- He really doesn't feel old. Not when we're together.” You shrugged, playing with the condensation on your drink.
“I mean, you’re only twenty-six,” Dot spoke, her eyes glancing between you and June. “You’re young and hot. I don't see an issue.” Your eyes shot up to meet Dottie’s. She smiled at you, her dark brown eyes warming your core.
“Who are we to judge,” June began, a laugh escaping her throat. “I slept with that old guy, remember? He was, like, almost sixty and I was drunk as hell.” You and Dottie laughed, remembering that night. It was June’s twenty-third birthday. You three went to the club to celebrate and the eldest of your group ended up getting too wasted on absinthe. Which resulted in her sleeping with Mitch Johnson, an old friend of your fathers. Small world.
“And you,” June pointed to Dottie, “Are a homewrecker.”
“He never said he was married.” Dottie responded, sticking her tongue out at the woman. The three of you chuckled amongst yourselves before a silence took over. Your eyes once again scanned the room, not being able to shake the eerie feeling those two men implanted. They still sat across the diner and occasionally their eyes would make contact with your own, causing a chill to run up your spine. You quietly flipped your phone over, checking for any more messages from John. The screen remained blank, setting panic to freely course through your veins. His previous message was sent fifteen minutes ago, which meant the man was probably on his way right now. Plus, your parents didn’t live far from Coopers.
The men both stood up now, locking eyes with you. They then looked at the other, as though confirmation was in order, before beginning to walk in the direction that you and the girls sat. Anxiety courses firmly through your veins now, and you could feel your palms gather sweat.
“Girls,” You murmured, gathering their attention. “There are two men walking in our direction now, and I’m pretty sure they are after me.” You kept your voice low, trying to pretend as though you are oblivious. June and Dottie became physically uncomfortable, now shifting in their seats and looking over their shoulders. You felt guilt cross your person, now realizing how serious the situation is. You put your two best friends in harm's way. I mean, It’s not like they’re completely useless; they have parents in the Mafia, they’re trained in combat and weaponry. However, the guilt still bothered you that it was your fault.
“How do we go about this?” Dot asked, reaching for her purse. Your eyes watched as the woman dug into her bag. The pop of a gun chamber sounded as she began to fill it with bullets. June tied her hair back and began to stretch her arms. You sometimes forget that June is trained extensively in Jiu Jitsu. You also looked back to the men who were still making their way to you, passing through the crowded dining room floor.
“Should we leave the public space?” You murmured, “I don’t want civilian casualties.”
“Yes.” June agreed, standing up. “Gather your things, quickly.” She added. The oldest tossed a fifty dollar bill onto the table to pay for the drinks and the food you didn’t get to eat. You led the way, pushing through the crowded dining room to the exit. You glanced back, seeing the men become more frustrated. You are aware of the other, knowing what little cat and mouse game was occurring.
Your palms shoved the door open, the three of you stumbling over onto the sidewalk. You looked both ways before leading right. You didn’t know what to do, whether you should try to outrun them, or stick up and fight. Maybe if you kill them it’ll send a message to Santino. Though, he may not even care. As he’s got twenty more men to fill the space those two would leave. You made sure June and Dottie still followed, checking over your shoulder occasionally. The three of you pushed through the crowds of New York, your main destination being Dottie’s vehicle. Your eyes also kept a lookout for John. He probably tracked your phone, you knew he had the ability anyways. You’re just glad the little ploy worked for as long as it did. You turned right down an alleyway, taking a shortcut towards the parking garage that Dot’s car was in. June looked over her shoulder, alarm blaring through her veins as she spotted the men.
“They’re still behind us.” She spoke, looking between you and Dottie. You took a deep breath, placing your hands on your hips.
“Va al diavolo!” ‘[Go to hell!]’ You cursed, throwing your hands up. Dot quickly grabbed you by the arm, pulling you as she began to run to the end. June grunted as the three of you approached a dead end, meeting a chain link fence.
“Fanculo. Okay, you two climb over.” ‘[Fuck.]’ You spoke, gesturing to the fence that stood in front of you. Your eyes met those of your friends, all breathing heavily from the sprint. Echoed footsteps could be heard at the entrance of the alley. You glanced over your shoulder, seeing the silhouettes of the men headed in your direction.
“Go!” You spoke with a harshness towards your friends.
“Not without you!” Dottie raised her tone, hands on hips. You turned your head again, seeing them get closer.
“Dot, just go!” You finally yelled. The girls hesitated, however respected your wishes and quickly climbed the fence, hopping to the other side. They stood now, staring as the men approached, getting ready to jump back over if need be.
“Santino it ha Inviato?” ‘[Did Santino send you?]’ You asked the men, slowly walking towards them.
“Si.” ‘[Yes.]’ One responded, their faces finally becoming clear from the backlight. You looked at them, noting how they both looked like average Italian men. Dark hair, olive eyes, and warm skin. Their faces were covered in a few scars, and you noted how they both wore suits with visible holsters resting on their hips
“It ha mandato per uccidermi?” ‘[Did he send you to kill me?]’ You asked, the men now only ten feet away from you. The darkness of the alley sent a chill down your spine, and you glanced back at the girls to make sure they were alright. Dot had her hand in her purse, most likely gearing up for when shit turned sideways. June held a stoic look, almost a resting bitch face, staring down the two men.
“Si.” The same one answered again. They now stood only five feet away, stopping in front of you. You felt the sweat drip down your forehead, the buggy summer heat beginning to take claim of your body. You took a deep breath, wondering where John was, and how now would be a good time for him to suddenly appear. The men cracked their knuckles, rolling their shoulders and looking at you with sinister smiles.
“Di ‘a Santino: E un peccato che sia troppo codardo per uccidermi.” ‘[Tell Santino: It’s a shame he’s too much of a coward to kill me himself.]’ You spoke, remembering the moves that your bodyguard had taught you. You leapt forward, first knocking one of the men down by pushing in his kneecaps. You took the moment to quickly hit the next guy, however, he blocked your blow, sending you back a few feet. The second man took advantage of your hesitation and grabbed you, throwing you into one of the walls. You let out a yelp, feeling the brick scrape bare skin harshly. The first guy stood up, and threw a fist at you, however, you quickly dodged and used his own momentum to toss his body into the wall.
You felt as the second lackey quickly punched your gut, causing you to double over in pain. June and Dottie stood yelling which you could hear through ringing ears. You recovered quickly, countering the second man with a swift kick to his shin. He groaned, but recovered and swung a fist at you. You managed to dodge the blow and delivered a hearty boot to his groin. He quickly dropped to the ground in pain and you grabbed the pistol from his holster, pulling the trigger and placing one bullet into his skull. The second man used this moment to grab your loose shirt, and throw you into the brick, scraping your skin once again. He lifted his foot and conveyed a kick to your gut, sending you to double over. He used his fist to hit the sides of your face, throwing your head back and forth. You could feel blood begin to drip down your face, the pain that each snap of your neck caused, you could hear June and Dot yelling but it was faint. Time felt slowed, your heartbeat was like a drum in your ear. Then, a gunshot.
All movements stopped, followed by the thud of a body hitting the ground near your own. You slowly slid down, ignoring the burning chafe the brick left. Hot tears stung your eyes as you covered them with your hands, a harsh sob leaving your throat. Your body ached, your face burned, and blood was the only taste that donned your mouth. You heard the chain link rattle as somebody climbed over it, as well as a huff when they landed. A gentle hand placed itself on your shoulder, and you saw as they knelt down, due to the shadow.
“(Y/N).” John. A hoarse cry escaped your throat upon hearing your bodyguards gentle voice. He wasn’t angry, like you expected. Instead, his tone seemed more worried than anything. You managed to look up at the man from your hands, your eyes greeting the sight of his own.
“Oh my god, (Y/N)!” You heard Dottie yell as she approached your side. The two girls quickly examined your body, nearly shoving John out of the way.
“I fucked up.” You didn’t even recognize your voice as you spoke— your throat burned. June dotted your bloody forehead with a napkin from Dot’s purse.
“We should get her back home.” Dottie murmured, looking up at John. The dark haired man nodded, agreeing with the woman. June moved out of the way so he could scoop you into his arms. You lay your head onto his chest, faintly hearing the sound of his heartbeat and breathing. The man carried you out of the alley with June and Dottie close behind. You felt the summer sun warm your face as you exited the cool shade of the alleyway. The fresh breeze brought your attention to the cuts on your face, feeling the coolness from the semi-dried blood. Dottie opened the vehicles door and John placed you in the passenger seat, buckling your body firmly in. The two girls hopped into the back, John promising they’d be returned to their car later this evening. You heard the rumble of the engine, and closed your eyes, feeling tiredness numb the pain that ravaged your figure.
——————
“How long have you been employed by the (Y/L/N)’s?” Dottie’s gentle voice quietly echoed throughout your bedroom. Mellow sun rays shone in through the window, casting a warm haze throughout the space. After the incident in the alleyway, John brought you, Dottie, and June back to your parents estate. However, after you all got back, John discovered they'd left on business to Rome for a few days. He carried your figure all the way from the car to your bed, carefully depositing you. Dot and June then got to work, bandaging your wounds, though after you seemed stable and well asleep, they backed off and let you get some rest. Now, John watched as Dottie cared for your sleeping figure. His heart couldn’t help but ache to see you so helpless laying there. Your face had been drained of some of its color, leaving it more pale and sickly. Your hair stuck to your skin, and a thin layer of sweat covered your body. Your bodyguard wanted so badly to climb into the bed with you, stroke your hair from your face, tend to your bandages, hold you, kiss you.
“Month and a half.” John answered, looking over to the woman. She nodded at his answer, dotting your forehead with a wet washcloth. The woman sat next to your bed with a rag in hand, occasionally cleaning your skin of sweat and dried blood specs. June was asleep on the small couch you had in your bedroom next to one of the windows. John stood on the opposite side of the bed from Dottie, watching her every movement when it came to caring for you. Occasionally your body would stir, but you still hadn’t woken up since the car— four hours ago.
“Are you liking it?” The vintage dressed woman asked, a smirk crossing her red lips. She cast her eyes between John and your sleeping figure, hinting as to what she was meaning.
“I am.” He responded. Dottie noticed his softened gaze when he looked towards you. She glanced back down at your face, wiping your skin with the washcloth gently. Your brow bone contained a nasty laceration and your cheekbone held a nice bruise with a cut as well. There was also a gash on your bottom lip, and your left eye held a hefty black bruise. That man really got ahold of you.
“They're a good family. I know Francesco means well,” Dot murmured, “Speaking of, have you let them know?” John watched as the woman stood up and walked to the bathroom retrieving a fresh bowl of water for your face.
“I called Francesco shortly after we arrived here.” The dark haired man spoke. He sat on the edge of the bed, leaning towards your figure. He brushed away a few strands of hair that had fallen in your face. His thumb caressed your cheek afterwords, carefully avoiding the wounds that donned your skin. He felt your body stir, and a quiet groan escape your lips as you started to wake up. Dot walked back into the room, noting Johns figure looming over your own. A little smirk crossed her lips as she set the bowl down on the nightstand. You peeked your eyes open for a second, wincing at the brightness of the room.
“Good afternoon, sleepy.” Dottie smiled, sitting beside your figure again. “Careful.” She murmured, watching as you shifted to sit up a little better. You knew Dottie was next to you, but could feel the weight of somebody on your other side. A large hand quietly placed itself on the side of your arm and you looked to see who it belonged to.
“How do you feel?” John’s words were gently spoken. His fingers squeezed your arm slightly before he released.
“M-my throat hurts.” Your voice came out scratchy and withered sounding. Dottie quickly placed a cool glass of water into your palms, hers then wrapping around yours before releasing entirely. You gave her the best smile you could manage, due to your cuts, before sipping the drink. John stood up from the bed and made a comment about going to grab pain medicine before he exited your bedroom.
“I'm going to wake up June.” Dottie spoke, walking over to her sleeping position by the window. You blinked your eyes, feeling the pain from the cuts, and groaned silently. It was stupid of you to think you could take on both of them. Your training with John was going fine, you figured if you at least got one down… No matter, at least you were still alive. The footsteps of your two friends caught your attention as the girls returned to your side. June immediately began to gush over how happy she was you were awake and okay, hugging you tightly.
“We thought you were a goner.” The girl whispered, worry still evident in her tone. You raised your brows but winced as the sting from the cut became overwhelming.
“I'm glad John showed up when he did. Like a superhero. He stood there with his gun and you should've seen the animalistic look in his eye.” Dottie sighed dreamily, “You are one lucky girl.”
“I know about your ‘no dating’ rule, however, I don't think you should let this one get away.” June commented quietly, brushing some hair from your face. Dot agreed, shaking her head vigorously. The three of you cut the conversation short as John's footsteps echoed closer. He entered the room quietly and padded over to the bed, handing you a bottle of painkillers. Your fingers brushed as the container was passed and you felt a longing for the touch to remain; however just as the warmth arrived, it left.
——————
June and Dottie stayed over for another hour before leaving. They helped you change your clothes and settle in for the night before they left you in the capable hands of John. The two of you remained in your bedroom the rest of the evening. You went in and out of sleep a few times. One time, you woke to the man humming quietly while sitting in bed next to your figure. Another, he was checking your bandages and cleaning the sheen of sweat from your skin. Maybe what June said is right, you can’t let John get away. Nobody has cared for you like he has. But that begged the question, would he even want to be with you? You’re half his age and apart of a mafia family. Plus, you still don't know much about him; his past, his home life, etc. He is a mysterious being, quiet too. It only made you want to know more.
“John?” You murmured, gathering the strength to sit up. It was late evening now, just past eight. The summer sun had just set, leaving a gray tone to cover the space.
“Yes?” He answered, turning to face you. He had been sitting at your desk, cleaning his gun.
“Parlami di te.” ‘[Tell me about yourself.]’ The man responded to your request by putting down the parts in his hand. He then quietly cleaned his fingers of grime before standing up and padding over to you, but not sitting.
“What would you like to know?” He murmured. You studied his face for a moment, taking in the features he donned. His normally combed hair was disheveled now and he had bags under his eyes. He wore a suit and shoes too, obviously still dressed for work.
“Everything.” You replied, ignoring the throb of pain that coursed through your body. John nodded, then loosened the tie from his around neck. He shed off his suit jacket next, leaving him in a black button up and vest on top. You admired his figure in the darkening room. He stood tall, confident, maybe a little tired, but didn't let it show much. The man settled on the edge of your bed, by your feet. The room remained silent for a few moments; you not daring to speak, and John taking the time to gather his thoughts.
“I was married.” John’s voice was so soft, you had to lean towards him to hear better. The man kept his gaze towards his hands, fidgeting with his fingers.
“Was?” You asked, pushing aside the slight feeling of jealousy that rose.
“She- she passed due to an illness years back.” The bodyguard paused.
“Oh. I’m sorry to hear that.” You let out quietly, as to not bother John’s story process.
“I was retired and wanted to live my days as a widower, however I was dragged back into the business by an old friends’ idiot son.” The man sighed, pushing some fallen hair behind his ear. You caught a glimpse at how sad he appeared, and felt an urge to comfort him. Pain shot through your body as you scooted down the bed until you were close enough to John. You grabbed his hand and his fingers instinctively intertwined with your own, making you realize just how large his palms actually were. It felt right, his hand being wrapped with your own.
“Ever since then, I haven't left the business again. I see no point. I can't seem to leave anyways, I keep getting dragged back in.” He sighed heavily and you began to rub your thumb along his hand, as your way of comforting him. He fell silent, but you didn't push anymore questions just yet. He was being open and raw, which was probably difficult for the man to do. If he wanted to tell his story, he would. You wanted to know more, obviously, about the kind of work he's done; his jobs, the people he’s met, and if he knew anyone in your family. You wanted to know why the man was so troubled, and why it seemed everybody is against him.
“Will you stay with me tonight?” Your voice escaped softly, barely above a whisper. John's hand squeezed your own, before he finally made eye contact with you. His dark gaze caused a chill to slither down your spine.
“Yes.” He spoke softly, “I need to go change.” He gave your hand one last squeeze before removing it and standing up. You watched as his figure walked across your room and disappeared behind the door. It only took him about five minutes before he returned, ready for bed. Sure, it was barely nine, but you figured you could put on a movie. You drank in the sight of him, admiring his pajamas. Blue with plaid stripes, and a plain white t-shirt. You’ve never seen him in anything but a suit, nevermind the sweatsuit outfit from when you train. This is different than that, this is a side of John that doesn't say ‘Hey, i'm a killer!’ This side is domestic; make you coffee and toast in the morning domestic.
“Would you like to watch a movie?” You then asked, watching him tidy up his mess from cleaning his gun, which he didn't finish.
“Sure.” He responded, walking over and climbing onto the bed next to your figure. You turned on your TV, and picked a movie from a streaming service, before fully settling in. You scoot your body close enough to John’s that you were able to lay your head on his chest. The man wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you even closer, but gently as to not cause you more pain. You listened to his heartbeat as it slowed to a resting rhythm, and then closed your eyes letting sleep overcome your senses.

”I’m drunk and I hate everything but you. I love you a lot.” + lumax. cause, not to be dramatic or anything, but I’m DYING for lumax content rn
[A/N] This was such an adorable prompt! Im sorry it took me forever to finish it. I was struggling with one of the scenes, so I just included a real life situation and it helped a lot (the one with the jocks and beer pong lmao). I really hope you enjoy!! 💖💖💖
“Why would anyone need a house that big?” Max scoffed, looking up at the almost mansion sized home. The party had barely started, but already the lawn was crawling with people.
Max really didn’t believe Stacey Altman when she said she was inviting the entire senior class, but now that she was actually here, she would call that number an understatement. She supposed the large turnout was probably thanks to their team winning this years homecoming. A loss probably wouldn’t have resulted in the debauchery she was sure was taking place inside.
“Yeah, isn’t Stacy an only child too?” Will sneered. The Party, like everyone else, had each been handed one of the obnoxious green and gold invitations. Their school colors, a vaguely terrifying picture of their mascot, and bulky block letters that looked more like a ransom note than anything else.
At first, they all agreed not to go. Parties were lame, and none of them really even cared about Football. Then, Max had gotten bored, and El was easy enough to talk into going. One convincing led to another and now everyone was standing on the Altman’s lawn and looking at the house apprehensively.
“Are we going to go inside? Or just keep standing here?” Lucas finally asked. Max, determined to have a good time, took that as the motivation she needed. She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the house.
The scene before them was pretty much exactly what they expected. Loud music blared out of speakers from somewhere in the living room, and dozens of people danced around the space. The kitchen counters were covered in drinks and bowls of chips that no one was actually going to eat. Beer pong was set up in the dining room, and a group of football players were doing keg stands in the backyard.
It wasn’t like this was the first party they had ever gone too, it was just the biggest.
Max felt a little overwhelmed. She pulled Lucas and El into the kitchen, and poured each of them a drink from the horribly sweet, red concoction in the punch bowl. All three made dramatic grimacing faces as they took their first sip. The drink was bitter, and stung like rubbing alcohol, but the aftertaste was worse; Cough syrup and cheap wine.
“Are you losers drinking tonight?” Max asked the other boys, holding out another solo cup. Will and Dustin happily obliged, but Mike mumbled something about being the ‘designated driver’ and Max rolled her eyes. It’s not like they did not live close enough to walk or anything.
The party awkwardly hovered around the kitchen for awhile after that. They watched the party happen around them, making fun of people for one thing or another. After a few minutes Max could feel whatever it was she was drinking start to polish the edges of her perception. Jokes were funnier, sensations further away, she felt warm. It was a good feeling, and fast acting too. She filled up her cup for the third time.
Like all parties, however, the group you go with dissolved pretty quickly once people get acclimated.
Will was the first to get pulled away. A boy he knew from his art class waved him over and the two disappeared upstairs. Max and Mike gave each other raised eyebrow looks because Will was definitely blushing. Unbeknownst to Will, they had a running bet about how long it would take for them to start dating.
Next to go was Dustin. Throughout high school he had become quite the ladies man, and he was determined to chat up Haley Jones, his current crush. Actually, crush was an understatement, his new obsession was more accurate. Not in a creepy way really, more in just a painfully devoted loyal sort of way. It was sweet, and definitely really fun to make fun of him for.
Then it was Mike and El. A song came on that she actually liked, and she pulled him towards the large group of people dancing. Mike wasn’t really a dancer, and honestly neither was El, but they could certainly make the best out of it. Max watched them get swallowed up by the crowd until not even Wheeler’s mop of hair could be seen.
So it was just Lucas and Max, both whispering to each other about people from school acting like fools, and laughing so hard they had to hold onto the counter for balance.
“Do you want to dance or something?” She asked, finished off her third drink.
“Naw, but beer pong might be fun. I gotta use the bathroom and then i’ll be back.” He winked and pinched her waist as he left. She made heart eyes at his back while he walked away. She poured herself another drink.
Then things got… fuzzy.
Another massive group of people showed up, people Max had never even seen before, and the crowded house got that much more crowded. It was so goddamn loud. The group made a beeline for the booze and Max stepped out of the kitchen and out of their way. Now she was just hovering by herself at the edge of the living room. Where was Lucas? Oh right the bathroom! Jeez, he’s been gone for a long time.
A loud crash and the sound of people cheering caught her attention. Drink in hand, she shuffled her way towards the sound and into the dining room.
The dining room smelled overwhelmingly of beer and that same fruity cocktail mix that was currently making her brain fuzz. Max watched for a moment, a group of boys playing beer pong. Sticking their grubby hands in and out of the cups of booze, plinking the ball back and forth across the table. It was disgusting. Hadn’t Lucas said something about playing this? Maybe she should just wait here for him.
A big sweaty looking football player, sporting his Letterman like a coat of arms, stuck a hand in one of the cups to retrieve the ball. Max grimaced.
“You should really be using water.” She scoffed as another cup fell over, washing sudsy beer out onto the floor. They guys all turned to her and laughed.
“Water doesn’t get the job done.” The sweaty football player knocked his knuckles against his head.
“Yeah, plus, the alcohol like, kills all the germs.” Another jughead added from where he was leaning against the wall.
“That’s so ridiculously untrue.” Max chuckled.
“Yeah well, it’s more of a boys game anyway. Wouldn’t want you to get your pretty little hands dirty.” The sweaty guy replied nonchalantly, and lined up his shot.
“Oh, you’re so on.” Max would never admit to it if pressed, but she was so competitive that it almost wore her out. That fact was doubly true if the person egging her on was getting personal about it, and the fact that she was a girl? Yeah, that was pretty damn personal. She chugged the rest of her cup and moved to one end of the table, across from sweaty.
He raised his eyebrows but nodded, and put all of his cups back in line. “You need me to run through the rules, princess?”
“Throw the ball into a cup, if it gets in the other person takes a drink. It’s not rocket science.” She brushed her hair out of her face. As much as she wanted to kick this guys ass, she was also way to out of it to be truly pissed.
For most of the game, it was pretty much a stalemate. He got a cup, she got a cup. He drinks, she drinks. The beer is warm and salty and she tries not to think about how many hands had been in that cup. They had been right about one thing though, water certainly wouldn’t have got her feeling this way.
Then, one well placed toss. That’s all it took. A cup of jungle juice spilled over, cascading red liquid all across her white shirt. She looked down at herself in horror.
“You son of a bitch! You did that on purpose.” Max had no way of knowing that but it wasn’t a hard guess.
“Not me babe, it’s all part of the game.” Sweaty snorted, high-fiving one of his friends.
She would see about that. Anger sobered her. It took less than five minutes for her to get him the rest of the way out. Plink, plink, plink, plink. The rest of the room cheered for her, and egged him on. Chanting for him to chug when he finally lost.
“Wow Mayfield, im impressed. You didn’t come here with that loser boyfriend of yours did you?” Sweaty asked, lowering his gaze at her from across the table.
Suddenly she felt sick. Like really sick. And drunk, really drunk. She looked down at her shirt and back up at him and all of the other boys who were staring at her. She needed a bathroom.
“Fuck off, meathead. I don’t date dogs.” Max was seething now, she turned and walked out of the dining room. It took her awhile to find a bathroom, and every step felt more and more heavy. More and more fuzzy.
When she finally did, she sighed in relief and closed the door behind her. She did not want to throw up. She sat on the edge of the bathtub and tried to just breathe deeply, in and out, find a little bit of clarity. The party sounded really far away. Where the hell was Lucas? Where were any of her friends? Time moved so sluggishly that it was hard to tell exactly how long it had been since she last saw them.
She heard voices right outside the door, and the knob jiggle.
And instead of acting like a regular normal person, and standing up to let whoever it was use the restroom, she let herself fall back into the bathtub and closed the curtain behind her. This is a good idea Max, they will do whatever they need too and then leave and you can calm down.
Max recognized the voices to be that of Stacy, the party thrower, and Valerie, Stacy’s best friend. They sounded about as drunk as Max felt.
“Thank god, a little bit of quiet.” Stacy sighed as soon as the door latched closed behind her.
“I know right? At least it’s a good turn out.”
“Yeah I guess, but a lot of people showed up who I totally didn’t want to be here.”
“Oh drama? Go on.”
“Well like, when you invite nerds, you don’t expect them to come. I was just being nice but they had to actually show up. Did you see Henderson talking to Haley? Like he stands a chance. What a loser.”
“Oh I know! And all of his nerdy friends are here too. At least the rest of them date amongst themselves.”
Max was practically vibrating with anger at this point. No amount of ‘Just stay and wait for them to leave’ was helping. What if they kept going? What if they kept saying worse and worse shit? It was their shrieky and slurred laughter that finally pushed her over the edge. In a flash, she ripped the shower curtain back open, and from her place in the tub she stared daggers at them.
“What the hell-” Stacy began, looking totally appalled.
“Listen, Stacy! The only reason so many people came to your party is because you have a big house and free booze, not because anyone actually likes you! The next time I hear you talk about my friends i’m going to kick your ass!” Again, fueled by anger, Max easily rose to her feet and stepped out of the tub. “Oh, and that dress looks terrible on you.”
Sometimes you gotta fight shallow with shallow. Besides, it was an ugly dress.
Max wasn’t even listening to whatever they were yelling at her as she left. She flipped the bird behind her back as she went. It was so loud out here. She was so angry. Where the hell was lucas!?
She stumbled her way back through the house, avoiding the dining room, weaving around groups of people and spreading through others. How many living rooms did this place have? It took ages just to get from one side of the house to the other. Eventually, she found herself once again in the kitchen. It smelled so strong of booze that the nausea she had bated off was back, and kicking. She felt her skin ripple with goosebumps that was followed by a surge of heat. She really didn’t want to be the girl who pukes in the sink at a party.
Just then, a cool breeze nearly knocked her over, and her attention turned to a small side door.
Outside! Her senses screamed. Quiet, fresh air!
She was moving before she even finished the thought.
Max let the door slam behind her as she stepped outside. The lawn was pretty much empty, aside from a few people sitting around a small bonfire at the opposite end. She walked sluggishly toward the end of the porch, and sat with her legs dangling over the edge. The sounds of the party were further away now. She took a few deep breaths to try and clear some of the brain fog that had crept in. You never really notice how drunk you are until you’re alone. If she could just chill like this for a little while, her stomach would calm down and everything would be fine.
What a stupid party. What disgusting idiots those football players had been. Why was Stacy so vile? Max was kicking herself for being the one to suggest they come. Right now they could all be in Wheeler’s basement playing a board game, or at the cabin watching a movie. She was so worked up about the whole thing that she could feel her skin heating up.
A few moments later, she heard the door open behind her, but she assumed it was just someone else looking for a little bit of solace. Then that person walked towards her, and took a seat next to her. Their legs touched the ground where hers just swayed above.
“You doing alright out here? Lucas. His voice was quiet and when she looked at him he smirked, a beer still in his hand. It was probably only his second, maybe third. She felt embarrassed.
“Im fine.” She snapped back, and then sighed, letting some of the tension leave her shoulders. “I’m not fine. I’m drunk and I hate everything.”
“You hate everything even when you aren’t drunk.” His face was so sobering. Like he could see through her bullshit, but he was still validating her feelings. Gentle.
“Not you.” She let her head fall against his shoulder and her whole body went with her. She was lucky he was strong enough to support the both of them because she basically gave up trying. “A revision. I’m drunk and I hate everything but you.”
“Well in that case,” Lucas wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her snug against him. She felt him kiss the top of her head and she sighed contently. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“Im sure I will when im sober and can actually like, you know, formulate thoughts. I’m sure you’ll hear all about it.”
“Okay good, i’ll be waiting then.” He was quiet for a moment, and she relished in it. “Instead, can we talk about how cool it is that you beat the football team at beer pong?”
Even though her eyes were sagging closed, she could hear the smile in his voice. She groaned. “I don’t want to talk about that either. They’re gross. I drank shitty warm hand beer.”
“Okay, well, is there something you do want to talk about?”
She adjusted so she could look up at him, but no further than necessary. “Where were you? I haven’t seen you all night. And, how did you know I was out here?”
“Oh, uh, yeah. I kinda got caught up in a pool game. Did you know that the basement is like a full game room? And then someone wanted to play Foosball… It got out of hand. Also you literally almost knocked Will over in your mad dash to get outside. He told me you looked upset.”
Max snorted, and then laughed, and then she was laughing so hard that Lucas had to keep her from slipping off the edge of the porch. “Are you serious? We lost each other because we were both goaded into playing stupid games at this stupid party?”
“I guess so.” Lucas smiled at her, and the warmth of his hands bled through her shirt, making her shiver. He was so god damned competitive, and it was one of the things she loved about him. He was also, however, really god damned handsome and sometimes it still made her knees weak.
“This party kind of sucked.” She finally admitted.
“Yeah, it kind of did. It would have been way more fun to just sit out here.”
“Totally.” She snuggled in closer to his side, “Or… if we had, I don’t know, found one of the hundred rooms in this big stupid house and made out for like, an hour.”
“Hm, yeah, you’re right. That would have been better.” He was silent for a few seconds. “I’ll race you to the top floor.”
“Oh you are so on, Stalker!”
Instead of bolting, Lucas helped Max to her feet, and instead of racing through the house, it was more of him pulling her by the hand really quickly. Weaving in and out of groups of people, and rooms, and hallways. Once they finally got to the top floor, it was a guessing game as to finding an actual available room. They pressed their ears to a lot of doors, and were met with a lot of ‘Fuck off!’ and the usual drunk party girl crying. Luck finally came to them in the form of an oversized storage closet.
Needless to say, it turned the whole night around. More laughing and knocking things over then anything else, but he kissed her tenderly when she wanted him too and held her tightly when she needed him too. He always knew exactly how to make her heart quicken. They made a damn mess in that storage closet, essentially turning old camping gear and extra linens into a pallet on the floor. And there were the golf clubs they had knocked over, and whatever that thing was that fell and shattered. But that was Stacy’s problem.
Lucas always seemed to know the exact right things to say and do. It blew her mind that less than fifteen minutes earlier she had been rightfully angry on the back porch, and now she was lip locked and laughing. His hands tangled in her hair and she was glad she had taken El’s suggestion of bringing a brush so that she wasn’t such a hot mess when she got home. Her stained shirt was another issue, but right now she was just happy to be able to lay her head on his chest and listen to the party from what felt like far away
It was in this contented lul that he spoke again, softly, holding her tight against him. “How are you feeling? Still drunk and… hateful?”
“Yeah. Still drunk. I still hate everything but you.” She giggled, and cuddled even closer. “I love you a lot.”
He kissed the top of her head. “I love you a lot too, Madmax.”
As soon as the sounds of the people started dying down, they made their way hand in hand back downstairs; giddy and flushed and looking totally guilty.
They found Will first. He was almost as blushy as they were, and he said goodbye to his friend from art class in hushed tones before they left.
Then they found Dustin, who had passed out and was using a dog as a pillow. He was definitely the most wasted somehow, and Lucas practically had to carry him to the car.
Lastly, Mike and El found them. The couple were also holding hands, and also looking incredibly guilty. Well, Mike was. El looked so casual it almost through Max for a loop. She was actually thankful that Mike had stayed sober, because there was no way in hell she wanted to walk anywhere right now.
They crammed into Mike’s car, with El at shotgun and Dustin draped across the laps of everyone else in the back.
“So, uh, did you guys have fun?” Mike asked as he pulled the car out of its spot.
Max looked at Lucas, blushing all over again, heart beating fast, and smiled. “Yeah. Lots of fun.”
Lucas could make even the worst night into a good one. A great one. One she was excited to rant to him about all over again tomorrow.

ten thousand words ch. 9
hhh surprise update;)
no sprace in this chapter, but plenty of faves
(I’m at a football game on mobile rn so I’ll fix the formatting later but I just got impatient lmao)
also here it is on ao3 with correct formatting!!
Jack lived for the thumping bass vibrating through the floorboards. He would give anything for the rush of a few too many drinks in his system and pretty girls dancing nonstop. His second year of college and he was living the high life. Drinking cheap beer out of plastic cups in the basement of a semi-abandoned house. The high life.
“Hey!” He called, catching the attention of his roommate, Davey. “You’re not leavin’, are ya’?”
Davey sighed, turning and sitting down in a plastic chair next to Jack.
“What’s it to you?” He grumbled, downing a sip of his drink. “You don’t have to leave with me.”
Jack looked around the room, trying to find any familiar faces in the sea of drunk barely-adults.
“You really hate this?” Davey shrugged.
“It’s a Thursday, Jack. I have three classes tomorrow,” he sighed. “I can’t just relax and go out whenever I want.”
Jack ran a hand through his hair, reaching over to the coffee table to grab a shitty pen and a cocktail napkin. He propped the napkin on his knee and started sketching.
“Davey,” He spoke in a tone that mimicked that of a slightly-condescending teacher. Davey did not seem fond of this, but he rolled his eyes fondly. “I’m gonna’ tell you something that’s gonna’ save you from being a grumpy old man my the time you graduate.
Davey snorted and pulled out a wad of headphones from his pocket.
“You need to have fun. Look, your sister is the epitome of fun,” he started, pointing at Sarah who was challenging one of the sorority girls to chugging an entire bottle of wine. “Whether it’s your family or your double major, or whatever, you don’t want these last three years to be the worst of your life, Dave. Trust me, letting loose every once in a while seriously helps when you need to double down and focus in a day or two. Like, if I know I have a party to go to at the end of the week, I know I have less than five days to get my shit done so I can have fun.
Davey stopped trying to untangle the pile of white wires.
“If it’s not your thing, it’s not your thing. You can go home, I’ll give you my keys and you can go, but maybe think about it?” And Davey nodded. He shoved his headphone jack into his phone and, as Jack took that as his decision to mope around for the rest of the night, he hung his head over his bottle, holding it and swishing the beer around inside.
“Here,” Davey spoke up, Jack looking to the side to see him holding out a single earbud, the other in the former’s ear already.
Jack chuckled, setting his drink down on the coffee table.
“No, no, no,” he smirked. “You stay right there. We’re gonna’ do this right.” He dashed off, dodging through the crowd to get to Albert at the bar. He returned a few seconds later with two red cups of sloshing liquid, one of which he handed to Davey. “I couldn’t even begin to tell you what’s in this, so drink fast and try not to think about it.”
Jack plopped himself down on the sofa and graciously accepted Davey’s opposite earbud, chuckling softly at the high-tempo classical music.
“If you’re gonna’ hang out with me, Jackie, you have to deal with my version of hype music,” Davey mumbled, just loud enough for Jack to hear from beside him.
“That I can handle,” Jack smiled, tossing back another sip of his drink and sinking back into the sofa, letting the music drown out the rest of the party.
----------
“So you’re a freshman?” Sarah asked, trying to claim the attention of the redhead girl looking very confused by all of the drinks.
“Huh?” Her hair bounced as she whipped her head around. “Oh! Yeah, I am.”
“Cool, cool,” Sarah continued, climbing on top of the makeshift bar counter, sitting across the table from the girl. “I’m a sophomore, but it’s my brother and I’s first year here. We transferred in from out of state. University of Chicago, specifically.”
The girl smiled, her hands in her pockets.
“Do you, um, maybe have any recommendations? Sorry, I’ve just only really ever had the stuff my father used to buy, so I’m not really used to all this, um, cheap beer and stuff,” She rambled, immediately covering her mouth with her hand, a horrified look in her eyes. “Oh my god, that’s horrible, I totally don’t mean it like that! I just meant, you know, my father was really picky about alcohol and stuff! I just, kinda, took whatever he had in the house, and I-”
“It’s cool,” Sarah interrupted, flashing the girl a smile and a laugh. “Trust me, we all know we’re cheap. What’s your name, princess?”
“Oh, god,” she groaned, a laugh in her voice as she buried her face in her hands. “That’s gonna’ stick around for a while isn’t it?”
“At least until I get your real name, that is,” Sarah chirped, reaching under the bar to grab two bottles of their cheapest wine. “Until then, I propose a toast.” She popped the corks one by one.
“And what exactly are we toasting?” The redhead asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I don’t know,” Sarah started, her drunk brain clearly trying to come up with something. “How ‘bout we toast to your rich dad and his fancy liquor that I really hope gave you a high tolerance.”
The girl laughed, but shrugged, grabbing a bottle.
“Keep up then, princey,” she teased, immediately tipping back the bottle and chugging as much as she could. She kept both eyes open, never making a face as she stared down her opponent.
Sarah immediately pulled out her phone and took pictures, laughing as she watched the girl drain the last few drops of the bottle and immediately toss it behind the bar. Surprisingly or not, it didn’t break and merely bounced behind some empty boxes.
“Eh, it’s drugstore wine. The bottle’s probably plastic,” Sarah joked, earning a laugh from her new friend.
“Oh come on, stop stalling,” she teased, egging Sarah on.
“Fine,” the latter smirked, sweeping her ponytail off her shoulder. “Watch this.”
She, much like Katherine, tipped the bottle into her mouth, but instead held it between her teeth and chugged the whole thing with no hands. The moment she finished, she puffed the bottle out of her mouth and onto the floor, both girls laughing hilariously.
“Katherine,” the redhead spoke up once she composed herself slightly, jutting out her hand for Sarah to shake.
The latter stared at it for a second before grabbing it gently and bowing slightly to bring it to her lips and kiss across the girl’s knuckles. “Sarah,” she spoke, sending chills up the other’s arm.
Sarah Jacobs would be the first to admit she’d had more than platonic feelings for girls before, but Katherine? Yeah, this was very new and she couldn’t deny she kind-of liked it.
----------
“Who was that guy you were with earlier?” Albert whipped his head around to see one of his frat brothers, Austin, nudging him with his elbow. Albert dug through his memories of the night so far, only coming up with one person his friend wouldn’t know.
“Race? Kinda lanky, blond, not exactly talkative?” He suggested.
“Yeah, where’d he come from?” Austin asked, pulling off his cap for a second and repositioning his shaggy brown hair.
Albert tossed his friend another beer bottle while they talked, the other catching it with ease. They were both there with baseball scholarships, after all.
“You know Spot, right?” Austin nodded, popping the cap of the bottle. “Yeah, they’re friends I guess. I don’t really know why he came. Why, do you know ‘im?”
Austin took a second before he sighed, stepping back behind the bar next to Albert and away from the crowd around him.
“You think he’s gay?” Austin asked, his voice barely audible.
Albert was a bit taken aback, but he shrugged anyway. “I mean, just from tonight, I’d guess he’s all over Conlon for a reason, but I guess I don’t really know. Why, is that a problem or somethin’?” He couldn’t help getting a bit defensive.
“Nah, definitely not,” Austin started vaguely. “Think he’d say yes if I asked ‘im out?”
Now that was not what Albert was expecting.
“Y-you want to...oh, I mean, I don’t really know him, but like, yeah? Go for it, I guess,” Albert rambled awkwardly.
Austin chuckled, clapping Albert on the shoulder.
“We’re cool, right dude?” He asked, only a slight nervous quiver in his voice.
“Yeah, ‘course,” Albert smiled, clinking their bottles together. “Go get ‘em, tiger.”
Austin smiled, a slight blush on his cheeks before he ducked out, looking for a particular blond in the sea of people.

Holiday Studies?
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bae Jinyoung x Reader
Genre: fluff, wk b4 Christmas, bullet-point scenario
Summary/Extra: kinda tutor!Baejin. not fully Christmas
A/N: Okay, so you guys might’ve noticed, but if the scenario has an au and it’s for the “Christmas package”, it won’t be an actual scenario based on that au (if you know what i mean).
Bae Jinyoung became your tutor after your teacher had enough of all your F’s on your tests
You would meet every thursday since that was when both of you had time
And most tests were all on Friday so…
It was a good day to have a lesson
So it was the last Thursday and also the last day before winter break and you really didn’t have any homework, but you didn’t see Jinyoung until your tutoring session
When you see JInyoung arrive in the library, you quickly wave him over
“Today’s the last day of school b4 break, so can we just chill?”
You’re actually pretty nervous bc JInyoung wasn’t very….
Friendly or open
He had been tutoring you since the last week of october
But he still hadn’t talked to you out of school or anything other than your classes
No matter how much you try to get off the topic of quadratic equations, Jinyoung doesn’t falter
So you were expecting Jinyoung to say something like “Y/N. I get that it’s the end of first semester, but that doesn’t mean you should slack off. Now let’s get started with the inequalities…”
BUTTTTTTT
“Yeah. Wanna go to Target?”
So that’s how you end up at Target, sipping a smoothie and looking at the school supplies w/your cute tutor
You attempt to strike up some conversation, but Jinyoung replies rather shyly in short words
You shut up after that
But soon, you and Jinyoung start talking about the new games that had recently come out while passing the games section
It becomes an icebreaker and it’s the ONE and ONLY thing the two of you have in common
He becomes a lot more talkative soon after
It wasn’t like he met you today anyway so he opened up pretty quickly
When you get to the Christmas section, Jinyoung gets all hyped with the reindeer headbands
AND WOWOWOWOOW
You’ve never seen someone so happy AT TARGET
Jinyoung does THAT smile/laugh and puts on the reindeer ears LIKE THIS
And just laughs at himself in a small mirror
You cant help but just stare in amazement
Like
Wow
Was this your tutor?
The guy that never talked about ANYTHING ELSE besides school????
The trip to Target was fun, but you almost got kicked out for knocking over like three rows of plastic snowmen
So you decided to just leave b4
you knocked down aisles ya know?
After you came out of the store, reality dawned on both of you
The type of feeling like “what just happened?”
And “wow. That was embarrassing….why did i do that?”
It sorta gets awkward and quiet….er
You and jinyoung are still talking, but there are awkward pauses in between
Did i mention its also colddd af? Well im mentioning it now
but you’re an odd one so
you have the sudden craving for ice cream
And jinyoung felt bad for only doing work work work
and only talking about work work work
so thats how you end up eating ice cream in the snow, five days b4 Christmas w/a shivering BaeJin
You’re pretty cold too, especially since you’re the one eating ice cream
Like why are you eating two scoops of mint choco ice cream in THE SNOW
So Baejin forces you to wear his parka
even if he’s freezing and he realllyyyy wants to hurry up and go home
Boyfriend!baejin?? Yes pleaseeee
He’s good at hiding that he’s cold tho
if he doesn’t talk i mean
You can only tell that he’s cold when he speaks bc his voice sorta shakes
and his ears are also superrrr red
You feel rlly bad so you hurry and finish your ice cream then proceed to run into a bookstore even if you dont feel like reading
or like books
in fact, you hate books
butt
Jinyoung aint going to let you walk around the neighborhood w/just your uniform on
which meant he would give his warmth for yours
but also bookstores were always warm
After you rush in Baejin’s just so confused bc
You hate books???
Or at least that’s what he thought after the past two months he’s been tutoring you
he enters the bookstore, nonetheless, and he’s met with a rush of heat
He lets out a sigh in content, wayyy louder than he wanted to
His face grows red and avoids the peering eyes and tries to find you
you’re already on the couch next to a mini Christmas tree w/a comic book in your hands
You look up and wave JInyoung over to sit next to you
He grabs one of the books from the manga section, plops down on the sofa next to you and starts reading
After a while, he gets sleepy bc he had never read this book b4 and it wasn’t as fun he expected it to be
But then he feels a sudden weight on his left shoulder
And wow lookie lookie
You fell asleep before finishing the last page of the book
Jinyoung takes the book from you and starts reading it
Mostly bc he’s curious about your taste in books
but ya know
part of the reason may be bc he’s never seen you touch a book before
Jinyoung becomes so immersed in it bc it sounds so much like your relationship w/him rn
Its almost creepy bc it feels like the author based this off of you and him
Then it ends w/the two becoming great friends which left jinyoung a little disappointed
Bc wtf THE TWO CHARACTERS WERE SOOO COUPLE GOALS!!!
it’s the closing time for the bookstore, but you won’t wake up
Jinyoung shakes you awake
you wake up, but you’re only half-awake
and when you’re half-awake, you can’t think straight
So there you are
whining at Jinyoung to give you a piggy back
half asleep
You take off the sweater and shove it in Jinyoung’s hands then fall back on the couch
Jinyoung cutely laughs bc you look drunk and it’s pretty cute tbh
He carries you on his back and asks one of the workers to put the jacket over you so you don’t get cold
Im telling you this boy is the most caring person ever
He’s walked you home last time when it got really late after the weekly tutoring session
so he was able to remember where you lived which thankfully wasn’t too far from the bookstore
After a few minutes of walking in silence w/the occasional cars passing by
he feels you shift and he’s like
0_o
he got scared
Bc like what if you were just speaking nonsense earlier (which you were) and you actually didn’t want to be….ON HIS BACK?!?!!
What if you don’t like piggy back rides?
WHAT IF-
“Jinyoung?”
You suddenly speak up but you’re voice is so quiet he’s like ‘??’
like did you say something or was that the wind?
Jinyoung clears his throat and when he speaks his voice comes out really shaky
Lol poor boy
“Y-Yeah?”
You stay silent for a while and he’s getting all embarrassed and feeling stupid
‘Uhh….maybe she actually didn’t say anything and I was hearing things’
Then out of nowhere
“Merry Christmas, Jinyoung”
And you’re like drunk smiling (if that makes sense?)
Jinyoung feels a smile creeping up his face and he cant hide it anymore and just grins the whole way back to your house
Then you’re fully awake when he sits you down on the chair on your front porch
You suddenly stand up from the chair bc
BAE JINYOUNG PIGGY BACKED YOU ALL THE WAY HOME!??!?!?
“Oops! Sorry! I mustve been heavy”
You awkwardly laugh
“heh...he…”
You’re hella nervous bc YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A DREAM
LIKE THESE THINGS DONT HAPPEN TO YOU
“You’re fine, Y/N….”
Jinyoung gives you a smile and it looks pained so you’re internally freakingggg out
i mean he prob felt like he was carrying a walrus
But then he gives you the brightest grin as he runs off the porch
Then yells “MERRY CHRISTMAS, Y/N!!!”
You watch him leaving until you can’t see him then you notice that his jacket is still with you
Then your phone gets an alert that you got a text
I forgot my jacket, but you can keep it:)
LIKE WUWUTUTUT
you stare at the jacket that was in your hands now and giggle to yourself
Christmas sure brings miracles
