I feel you on the Bad Batch thing. I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, but I have dropped plenty of shows because a character I really liked died.

Sorry writers but death of main characters isnt really necessary and is just depressing! People die in real life but I watch shows more geared towards a younger audience thinking that maybe I can have a break from death

I was REALLY hoping this show would break from the norm and give us a SW story that was more akin to something like AtLA. cause wow, that was a story about war made for a younger audience that didn’t have any of the main characters die. amazing 🙃

but I will honestly go back on every terrible thing I said this morning if things change in the final season. I have no problem with that. I’m someone who reacts emotionally to things, so my reaction this morning was pure emotion, just like with Plan 99. I’m honestly hoping I’m wrong and can find joy in this thing that I love again 💙

last thing I’ll say about this is that I’m struggling hard with this not just because of how much I love the show, but because of how much I relate to it. I’ve had multiple convos with @jam-n-ham and my mom about how much these characters and their story relates to our own family. so to see them struggle and lose so much, it hits too close to home, literally. I told my therapist last week that losing Tech was hard not just because I care about him as a character… but also because he reminds me of my dad. this is why I’ve been so passionate and protective of Hunter as well, because I see so much of myself in him and don’t want him to suffer the same way I have. I literally cannot handle seeing these characters struggle so much. so yeah. here’s hoping they’re able to mend and heal like my own family has over the years 💙 (and if they don’t then I’ll write it myself 😝)

Favourite comedic scenes from Naruto manga?

Any scenes with these combo never stops me from smiling.. Such a fun and cute duo written with all the cultural nuances included. Like kids addressing an elder with Honorifics “Nii-Chan”, An Elder person teaching and disciplining young kids... 

Especially this scene brings me back all the way to my childhood where I used to play with my neighbourhood kids who are younger than me... Just like Naruto, I also used to put on some ‘cold’ Airs and show off a lot. No wonder Konohamaru is one of the Author’s Favorite Character.

Hashirama's 'Not So God of Shinobi' behaviour

Even though we were introduced to Hashirama in Part 1 during Konoha Crush Arc, We never knew his name or his history or anything. It’s just that we knew that this person is the First Hokage. And in Part 2, starting from Sasuke-Sai arc, his presence was getting little pronounced .... And his Name was finally revealed by Fake Madara. 

With the way, Fake Madara built up Hashirama like this Person who could do anything and especially the way Real Madara repeatedly screaming his name like a Parrot, by dissing other people in favour of Hashirama.... I thought he would bear some Real God-like Persona, you know... Just like he was in the above panel...

But who knows he would be a Goof-Ball who could switch between extreme depression and extreme happiness from time to time???

I should have known.

I simply couldn’t believe Hashirama is such a ‘normal’ person and the way he reacted on hearing Madara’s name, “It’s always something with him”.... whereas everyone else were literally terrified.... Man!!!! It’s a much needed arc at the right time which had every emotions in a right proportion. And I was always smiling uncontrollably throughout this Arc.

Okay so guys this RLY HAPPEND!! ;-; it was on my campus and the news was here and it was REAL

[ he is in two fandoms, in fact. he is both a fan-favorite from super mario rpg, the very first in the line of mario rpgs we’ve gotten over the years, and a pretty popular smash bros. request. he even got a mii costume in 4 and a spirit in ultimate as a result of the love. he’s very beloved, to the point that i’d, even as a geno fan myself, deem him a bit overrated. why? b/c where is all the love for all the other smrpg characters!!! they are all good. i love them all. ]

Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ i mean ?? i’ve met and seen many people who have/had crushes on geno so ??????? but i don’t think it’s like. that. ghfskjhgsg??? ]

Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ oh yes, he is undeniably very strong, both in personality and in battle. he is often seen as the level-headed straight man of the party in smrpg (which, in the case of my geno, is... semi-applicable LMAO), a star spirit with unwavering bravery and confidence. his in-battle stats are also pretty crazy, favoring geno as a glass cannon and enemy sweeper. he is also the only character in the game to have a move that will insta-kill any enemy besides bosses. well, and exor. idk why exor, but there ya go. needless to say, pretty much everyone in the fandom agrees that geno is a powerful mfer. why wouldn’t a literal, living star be? ]

Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK. [ as i mentioned before, there is no shortage of him being underrated in the fanbase. i’d even say he’s a little overrated. some people treat smrpg as ‘that game with geno in it’ rather than everything else it has going for it. i love star boye as much as the next gal, but pls appreciate smrpg as a whole. it’s such a vibrant game with a colorful world of characters to love. ]

Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. [ he is actually, completely central to the plot. the subtitle of smrpg is legend of the seven stars, which directly relates to geno’s core mission: to find the seven star pieces and restore star road. the rest of the gang had different ambitions, but they all ended up banding together over geno’s objective. one could argue he mostly is the exposition-granter and could be replaced with anyone else, but i feel he’s irreplaceable. smrpg would be so different without him, like it or not. ]

Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [ i wouldn’t say he is the protagonist, obviously, as that is very much mario’s spot. that being said, he is a pretty obvious deuteragonist for smrpg, given how much the plot revolves around him. he’s relevant to mario, for sure, as well as peach, mallow, and bowser. he’s relevant to many characters beyond them. he represents the fight for everyone’s wishes to be able to come true. he’s, uh... very relevant rofl. ]

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. [ the star spirits are somewhat known in the mario universe as entities capable of granting wishes, kinda like fabled gods with a tinge more evidence and reality to them. geno himself isn’t a known name, not like the seven star spirits of star haven, but his people are decently known. he, however, is not. ]

How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. [ he is basically the epitome of ‘good’ until you overthink star society like i do lol. not all wishes can be granted, what constitutes as a ‘good wish’ is subjective, why some good wishes still can’t be granted anyway, etc. it puts him more towards neutral good with a dash of lawful and an undercurrent of chaotic, given his rebellion against his superiors. ]

How strictly do you follow canon?  —  i mean, it isn’t hard to be strict to mario canon when there isn’t that much of a foundation to work with anyway lol. it’s all rather simplistic until you get into the nitty gritty of it ??? that said, geno is built on a lot of headcanon. like, a lot a lot. star society and its rules for star spirits of his kind, his relationship with rosalina (a matronly figure), his relationship with the seven star spirits, the fleshing-out of his basic personality traits shown in smrpg, etc.? headcanon upon headcanon.

Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  a star possessing the form of a children’s toy, like toy story but with more cosmic pew-pew. a chill and sassy guy still learning the ways of how earth (and other planets) work on a more intimate level, meaning there will be lots of adorkable moments as this curious one makes discoveries. sometimes attempts to innovate with what he learns to be ‘ahead of the curve’, leading to interesting results. (he likes to sip bubble tea, but replace the tapioca pearls with star bits. good result. mopping a counter-top because it would be ‘more efficient’? not-so-good result, got him lots of stares.) straight outta the 90′s, so be ready some of that rad 90′s slang and know-how from back in the day. (what do u mean they’re bringing back dunkaroos? that’d mean they stOPPED MAKING THEM?!?) very intrigued with new technology, became stuck to his smartphone upon discovering them, fell into the time-sink that is animal videos on youtube. he’s humble and likes to relax, have a good time, and relax w/ the squad. video games, netflix binges, the whole nine yards, he’s gotchu. he is a hell of a fighter and loves to fight, as well. help him push his abilities, and he’ll help you with yours.  likes being a little shit for fun, only to an extent (harmless moments of impishness, not serious, hurtful pranks). has a sense of humor that is easy to tickle, even with stupid dad jokes and classic puns. the brother-friend that will fire lasers at ur enemies for u. likes to play violin. cute. super cutie. v. tiny in his star form. almost five whole feet of sparkly, twinkly fun. likes super soakers.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  despite intrigue to learn more about the world around him, there is only so much that he does know. societal norms are often beyond him, and there are just so, so many earth hobbies he is not aware of. without handing him a bone, it makes him a little more limited than someone who’s more savvy. he is prime slice-of-life material, but that may also make things rather dull in an rp without an extra twist to spice things up. (thankfully, his being a total SNOT sometimes helps with that.) in canon and strictly in canon, geno doesn’t really have much personality, something that this geno has plenty more fleshed out. a good chunk of fandom finds him to be incredibly boring and droll, to which i personally disagree, as there are little things in smrpg that hint towards him having more to explore.

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  funnily enough, seeing smash bros. fandom railing on geno fans + hyping him up all at the same time made me revisit smrpg after having only played it as a teenager. i expected geno to be a boring slate of nothing like fandom often portrays him, but i found that i was terribly wrong. with a newfound perspective on him, noting little details that defied my expectations for this li’l guy, i decided to give him a geno whirl and see what kind of expansion i could do with his character. the amount of lore i came up with him and started wondering about piled on and on and on, and i realized that he had so much more potential than what nintendo and square properly tapped into. (some of it is also a matter of being timely, though, meaning later mario materials such as rosalina, star haven, etc.) i wanted to flex out that potential and see how much i could fill this little doll up with, and lo and behold, i rp him today with extensive amounts of development poured into him with love. to put it simply, there was so much untapped potential that i wanted to share with the world, to show geno the love and in-depth exploration that he deserved, to show that he was more than what he was given.

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  chattering about mario lore with pals, whether it relates to geno or not, reading, watching shows or videos that remind me of him, learning more about cosmology and the universe we live in (and boy, i’ve learned a lot of neat stuff!), revisiting my childhood (the 90′s) since it’s very geno-appropriate, drawing The Boye, literally anything to do with playing, watching, or doing ANYTHING with smrpg/paper mario 64/smg1&2, and probs a lot more. i’ve got a lot of fuel in me for this guy lol.

Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? [ on one hand, of course i hope that i do! on the other hand, i mean... nintendo and square don’t do jack for him, so i think almost anyone can do him more justice than they have, lbr. it’s... not hard... :’) ]

Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO / SORT OF? [ ok i gotta just copy-paste what blue said in her response because my god, she nailed it: “you know when you have a concept and in your own mind you can see it clearly, without fuzziness or confusion, but you can’t seem to put it clearly into words without it turning into an essay because you need to connect all the other points that’s in the single concept you envisioned? yea.” basically, this but in spades, because i have a huge amount of headcanon and lore that i’ve either not gotten around to writing about yet or am purposefully staving off (wink wink). i have written a lot for him, though! it’s just... comparatively so little to what all i’ve thought up over-time. ]

Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO [ not! often! enough!!! ]

Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO [ all i know is fine dining, breathing, and adorkable starman. ]

[ funny enough, i’m pretty damn confident in my portrayal, albeit still very modest. i mean, i am at least confident that i give depth to a character that had so little, and i feel like geno is just... real. (not literally ofc i mean like, he FEELS realistic.) he’s got character perks, character flaws, strengths, weaknesses, personal issues, ongoing obstacles, relatable themes where appropriate, interests, knowledge (or lack thereof), daily routines... i could go on. if nothing else, i at least feel good about trying to make geno feel less like some exposition character and more like a person. considering he wants to achieve personhood that most of his kind never gets to find, it’s oddly poetic lmao. ]

Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. [ eehhhhh. i mean, i guess it’s fiiiIIINE, but i often feel like i lack a certain pizzazz, something that’ll keep people interested and intrigued with what i write, giving enough material for them to adequately bounce back. on the same token, i like to babble with my prose, so i often worry about going on and on and on way too much. stale, quantity over quality, substance-less writing is what i fuss over the most. ;; ]

Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. / SORTA. [ sensitive to empathy and other peoples’ emotions, yes. i’m an insanely empathetic person, and i have a lot of love to give. that said, with only few exceptions, i have a pretty iron-clad skin. sometimes, i daresay it’s to the point that i often misjudge what other people can take, and i feel i can end up being too harsh and forward. that being said, it is also a good thing at times. harsh or not, if i feel a certain way about something, i make that shit known and i make it known as loud as it necessarily should be. i don’t beat around the bush; rather, if i have a beef, i will make that beef known. consequently, if i have love to give, you damn well better be ready to swim in a pool of hearts and your favorite kind of cookie (if applicable). ]

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  as long as it isn’t complaints with lack of substance/reasoning, yes! even if i may not always agree and may take things with a grain of salt, i am insanely receptive to criticism, even over the pickiest things. it’s something i’ve grown used to due to prior rp venues being particularly harsh. i will never throw a fit or act like a child if there is something i could do better with geno. in fact, there always will be! i’m not perfect, and i love to hear about ways i can improve and do better. it’s paramount in a hobby like this.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  that’s a’ight. i’m sure there are things about my geno that won’t resonate with everyone, especially given he’s a very sentimental character for old fogies like me lol. as long as there is no disrespect thrown this way, it’s all good. this stuff is subjective, after all.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  oh, a lot of people really hate geno lol, but i’m guessing this means personal portrayal only. in such a case, i would be curious as to why, admittedly, but i acknowledge that i am not owed anyone’s reasoning. if they really, absolutely hate my geno, then it’s their prerogative, whether they want to give a reason why or not. again, it’s all good unless immaturity and disrespect rears its head. i won’t tolerate that and will ignore any such behavior.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  sure, it happens to the best of us!

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  i’d like to think that i am! i’ve often had people tell me that i’m very nice and mature, but of course, i have no right to say how i come off to other people. that is not in my territory to judge, only theirs. that being said, it’s not easy to upset me or anger me, and i’m more often willing to listen and pal around than not. i’m the living embodiment of (shrug). i am just (shrug).

that’s why i’m still holding out hope even though the writers have continuously let us down. this storyline just doesn’t make SENSE. i think levi being hesitant about nico being “the one” is due to nico’s bizarre behavior, so i’m not confused about that, i’m confused about nico. it seems like just recently he started acting like he only wants sex (levi said “it’s becoming all we do” like it hasn’t *always* been all they do). something must have happened to cause nico to act so different

Okay, so I took this one line in your ask and wrote a whole thing.  This line:  “i think levi being hesitant about nico being “the one” is due to nico’s bizarre behavior, so i’m not confused about that.” which I agree with but also disagree on when it started and why that senseless train of events’ only purpose was to come to another senseless point.

Levi questioning Nico’s commitment to him started when Nico asked him, “We aren’t at the cohabiting step, right?” which Levi responded with, although unsure and most probably lying to himself, “Right?”. And after Nico asked him if he was tired of staying at his place where there’s no room for his stuff which ultimately lead to Nico saying that Levi would love his own place if he were to find one.

(I am very carefully avoiding words like pushing and telling when it comes to Nico talking to Levi about moving out. Why? Because I do not see Nico pushing Levi to move out or telling him to move out in this very specific scene. It might have happened off screen, who knows. Of course, it’s suggested and implied that Nico would prefer Levi to move out.)

And after that, Levi goes on to meet the Mary Sues of all couples and starts questioning his relationship with Nico and why him and Nico aren’t perfect dance partners like them. 

Which makes me go ??????????? This is a good ask that describes how I feel about Levi’s questioning:

ITS JUST SO OOC THIS SEASON. Like, we just went through Nico “stage five clinger” Kim to where he wouldn’t let his boyfriend REACH OVER FOR A GLASS OF FCKING WATER, to where he’s avoiding every feeling and talking to bang his BF that he wants out of his apartment. Like, even that doesn’t fit. He doesn’t want to live together, but he wants to get snowed in together at the hospital and spend every waking second together to bang. NO SENSE IS BEING MADE.

It isn’t until 16x15 when we sort of understand what Levi wants from Nico: he wants Nico to talk to him. He also says he understands if Nico’s not ready to talk to Levi about his parents. Which is great. Which is good. I love that Levi says that and also tells Nico he loves him. 

But then we hear these lines: But I want a relationship. Not an impersonation. And this doesn’t feel real.

Again, I am going ?????????????????????????? This is after Levi spends his day looking for Desmond who was impersonating a doctor.

There are dozens of asks talking about this and I felt the need to write out the events leading up to now for you all (I tried to be factual but lol). But I’m not going to talk about how none of that makes any fucking sense to me. Instead, I’m going to talk about Grey’s Anatomy and it’s way of storytelling that thrives on convenience, privilege, and dramatic parallels and how all of that is fucking stupid (but that’s just my opinion rofl).

Whenever a character is having an issue, the medical case of the week always conveniently provides a blueprint or parallel of said issue to the character. For Levi: the old couple showed Levi what a “perfect and in sync” relationship should look like. Demond’s story showed Levi that impersonation = bad.

When, in life, do cases like these drop so conveniently in your lap in order to help you solve or point out whatever problems you’re having in your own personal life? And how does one come to such definitive conclusions after only working on these cases for a day? 

Of course, it’s all TV magic. It’s part of Grey’s formula. It’s a formula many shows adopt and do but Grey’s pushes it to a point of unbelievability. The cases are purely there to advance a character’s arc. IMO, grey’s has stopped making us care about the actual cases and patients but rather, molds them in a way so they perfectly tell the doctor what to do. And the patients have, in their own way, become all-knowing, prophets that resemble Mary Sues. 

And that’s lazy and unrealistic. And if the counterpoint to that is: this is a tv show!!! Yes, I know it’s a tv show but just because your work is fiction, doesn’t mean it has to be so incredibly obvious on what it’s trying to do.

Then there’s the issue with privilege. And this isn’t entirely schmico related but the doctors on this show now? They are privileged. They have money, they have reputation, and they have connections. They are so far removed from the struggling, broke, and tired interns we saw 16 seasons ago that the decisions they make now blow my mind. No one, in their right mind, would buy a whole hospital just because they were having marital problems. Only people with power and privilege would be able to do that and I guarantee you, 99% of grey’s viewership is not capable of that sort of thing. 

But we are now expected to believe these are rational, doable things that doctors do. The decisions these doctors are making in their own personal life AND professionally drip with privilege. And to me, it feels like the writer’s forgot what it means to be unprivileged.

Because being unprivileged is inconvenient. 

You do not just up and take in a foster kid. You do not sign your name on insurance forms and skip court dates and continue to insert yourself in a hospital that fired you. You do not get to leave/get fired from a hospital only to be hired again by the same hospital. And you definitely do not and SHOULD not spend a whole day with your patient and then conveniently have a whole epiphany about your long term relationship with your boyfriend.

Wrap all that up with some dramatics, and you get grey’s. Grey’s who relies on cheap, temporary shockwaves in order to explain away and condone unrealistic behaviours and actions. Drama comes FIRST, then how quickly can we make these events happen, THEN coherency and story building makes an appearance. 

The art of storytelling has been lost on grey’s. Instead we have this monstrous beast that throws its shit at us and we are told to open our mouths and consume it. 

Now, I am not saying stop watching grey’s. I’m just telling you how shitty grey’s is becoming. I loved grey’s anatomy. I was proud to watch it and it was ~~~ground breaking~~~~ in its prime.

Now? 

God, it’s like watching your grandma try to be hip but she’s decrepit and dementia has overtaken her mind. 

Am I going to stop watching? No. But I’m not going to try too hard to make sense of the actions of these deformed, mutated caricatures we call characters in this show anymore. I will not hold faith in the writers to represent and portray a character that looks like me/acts like me accurately and with grace and care. The characters I used to love are reduced to their own stereotypes and tropes.

I will now expect bullshit because that’s what I’ve been given lately. I might as well be watching a soap opera where senseless, unrealistic dramatics is accepted and part of its charm.

I get where this teacher is coming from, and they probably think they’re being supportive, but... it’s also kind of insensitive. The way the letter is written, even if it is not meant to come across that way, kind of frames kisa as the problem - that she hates herself, so she can’t make friends. That she’s weak, so she breaks down when she’s getting bullied. That because she doesn’t ‘love herself,’ she can’t easily make friends. but that’s not the case - it takes acceptance from others to make you love yourself, too.

KISA AND TOHRU SFJSFJSFJ

yes, yuki! there you go! such a powerful realization. Speaking from experience, abuse hinders your growth and makes you stagnant. It’s so incredibly hard to move forward. It’s like you’re trapped in a pit of despair that you can’t get out of. You don’t ever feel good enough, or strong enough, or smart enough. You don’t know what you’ll gain, afraid of what you’ll lose. It’s difficult. It’s awful. But eventually, slowly, surely, you gain the capability to realize that you deserve more. There are so many wounds that take so long to heal - and may never truly heal. But you eventually have to try and move forward, because if you don’t, your abusers win. You lose out on life. Taking that first step is so powerful because it shows that you want to get out of it. You want to move beyond the pain. 

kisa’s doing it now too and I am so proud of her. I have faith in my baby girl. 

yuki just announced that he’s going to become student council president. so proud of him too!

ooohhhhh isn’t this hiro? i remember this ep, too. he likes kisa, i think. from what I remember of the 01 anime, akito beat the shit out of kisa in front of him, and put her in the hospital which is all kinds of fucked up. 

hiro is such a brat lol, but at the same time, I get it. I know he’s acting out because he doesn’t know how to process and handle what happened to kisa and how he couldn’t protect her. 

kyo’s anger at him is relatable, though lmao. I hate how hiro treats tohru, even if I understand it.

“of the two of us, I’m not the one who’ll be sorry in the end.” OOHOOOOOO. what is shigure’s plan, here? is he wanting to take down akito or help? both? I get the feeling that shigure wants the curse broken because he can’t stand how akito behaves, but still has fondness/love for akito. 

poor hiro. it’s nearly impossible to stand up to your abusers, especially when they have power over you. it’s so disgusting what these kids have to endure and go through because of what they are, and because of akito. I think akito might be the worst part about all of this. the preconceptions, such as the cat being excluded, of terrorizing all of the zodiac members... the curse could’ve been less painful for all of them if akito wasn’t such a jackass. 

glad to see hiro trying to be nicer to tohru. hope that continues!

Scorose Shipping Challenge

Just a bit of random fun. Stole this from @samesanegirl​ - apparently it’s really old but I thought, well why the hell not. If you’re into Scorose, feel free to answer these too – would love to read your response :D

1. When did you start shipping Scorose?

Early 2015, which is late af! But I was very on-and-off with the pairing (was into other fandoms at the time). I believe Cursed Child was released a year after I started to ship Scorose.

2. Favorite ship name: Scorose or Rosius?

Scorose. Nothing against Rosius – though it does sound like it could be the name of another Slytherin boy, doesn’t it?

3. Would you like J.K. Rowling to write a book about the next generation?

No. I did like Cursed Child for what it was, but based on what’s happening with Fantastic Beasts, I do think she should leave the magnificent HP universe alone now.

4. What is your favorite Scorose fan fiction, and what is it about?

I actually stopped reading Scorose fanfiction the moment I started writing them, because I have the tendency of not writing at all once I go on a reading binge. I just regret not bookmarking the ones I really loved, because I read too many to count! The one that still stands out in my mind in the sea of fic I did read is The Hospital Bed Monologue by Graeliars. It’s absolutely wonderful.

5. Which Houses do you believe that Scorpius and Rose would be sorted into? The same or different ones?

Slytherin Scorpius and Gryffindor Rose is a classic combination. But it’s interesting to imagine them in different houses for the fun of it, just to see what unexpected stories can come from those.

6. How do you think their relationship would evolve? Would they start off as friends, or start off as enemies?

I apologise for being a borefest, but I actually quite like the traditional friends-to-lovers trope, though this pairing is definitely capable of a compelling love/hate dynamic. In my mind, however, it’s not the starting point that matters; the story is always found in their differences. I’ve always loved the thought of them being completely indifferent to each other at the start, before friendship somehow happens... and then the attraction just hits them over the head like a Bludger! On the other hand, I’m also partial to the simple idea of Scorpius obsessing over Rose for a long time ala Cursed Child, before finding some (either hilarious or romantic) way of letting her know properly.

7. Say one of your personal headcanons.

Delinquent Scorpius has a crush on bookworm Rose, and she’s literally the only reason he goes to the library. It’s completely unoriginal and a total cliche... I hope to write it eventually rofl.

For some reason, I have the impression that Rose is an uncommonly sincere person, and that Scorpius – no matter what his behaviour – was raised to have beautiful manners.

8. Do you have a favorite Scorose video?

Ah, no. I much prefer the fan art.

9. Name a few songs that remind you of Scorose.

Old Fashioned by Bruno Major perfectly conveys the type of romance I see Scorose evolving into. Four Walls by Broods was also one of the first songs I associated with the pairing :)

10. Name some of your pet peeves in Scorose fan fictions.

- Pointless miscommunication. Or a character being obtuse even if something is blatantly obvious. If a matter can be easily solved with a conversation, solve it with a conversation and move on!

- Lack of female friendships for Rose, and showcasing other girls as unreasonably jealous, mean or bitchy.

- Sex without intimacy. Though this can definitely be hot if written well.

- One-dimensional Albus :(  And in the same vein, unreasonable!Ron or cheerful!Draco.

- I hate the idea of Scorpius dating anyone else in the Potter-Weasley clan in a Scorose fic, ie. Lily or Dominique or whoever else.

- Constant focus on “Who are you dating??” in a fic gets old really quick, for me at least. I like it when we learn about Rose and Scorpius’ lives beyond their love lives.

- Rose being described as ‘one of the boys’ or ‘not like other girls’ – this saddens me the most, probably. She comes from a family full of strong, brilliant women. Of course she respects her own gender, and absolutely proud to be ‘one of the girls’.

11. Who do you think they were friends with?

Rose is definitely best friends with Albus and close to Lily. She and Hugo are cutely protective of each other. She’s really social, and is happy to have a large circle of friends beyond family.

An Albus/Scorpius friendship is practically a requisite. I do also like the idea of loner!Scorpius, or generally him just being choosey af about who he associates with. #standards

12. What personality do you reckon Rose would have?

Rose is wildly intelligent, but she isn’t book-smart the way Hermione is – rather, it’s her imagination and curiosity that defines her. She might fail a subject she has zero interest in, yet be the go-to expert on some hilariously obscure topic. Ron definitely treats her like the centre of his world, and Hermione will teach her well – as a result, Rose is affectionate, warm-hearted and well aware of her own worth. Her parents’ constant verbal sparring may also see Rose playing peacemaker from childhood, which makes her a bit of a supporting character in her own household... a role I see her accepting with grace and good humour. 

13. What personality do you reckon Scorpius would have?

Scorpius’ childhood is fraught with opposing socio-political views from his parents and grandparents, and therefore he learns early on that he has to be vocal in order to defend what he believes in. Has the temper of a mad man, and the most tender of hearts. Thanks to Astoria, he has lovely manners; thanks to Draco, he does have a taste for the finer things in life. He’s deeply intriguing to others, but is reserved and hard to know – possibly his way of avoiding misunderstandings, as others aren’t likely to give Malfoys the benefit of the doubt. But once you win his friendship or love, he is loyal to a fault... and would move entire worlds to protect you. Also, as random as this is – I just see Scorpius as the sort who has a thing for expensive cars, and has zero qualms walking into a Ferrari showroom to buy something he doesn’t yet know how to drive.

14. Is Scorose a ship you’d typically ship (do you have ships that are similar to Scorose?) or are they unique to you?

This is so embarrassing but I literally die for the Bad Boy and Good Girl trope, which sometimes seeps into the way I write Scorose... I also ship Rey/Kylo Ren (Star Wars), for example. I used to adore Lily/James, but that was before we got to know James better in canon (and I’m not such a huge fan of that portrayal). I did also like Harry/Ginny a lot when I was younger. Maybe because I relate to her type of anxieties around a long-time crush.

15. Recommend a good Scorose blog (if you know one).

@scorpiusrose for sure. She’s like an encyclopaedia of Scorose fic, and half the reason I always give up on making reccs... just visit her lol.

technically, this sort of post could’ve waited until october. but, i’m impatient and i just wanted to tell you how much i love you~

13 years adds up to 4,745 days. in case you need me to spell it out for you, that’s four thousand, seven hundred, forty-five days. holy crap, right?

you and i were lucky to meet in a time where the rpc was pretty easy going and fun to really take part in. we also met on an entirely different platform, browsing forums for roleplays is definitely not as big a thing now as it was back then. (trust me, i’ve checked. multiple times.)

we were just kids then. literal babies, even though we were both adults. i mean, i believe i was going on 18 when we first spoke. that was in august, i think. so yeah, i wasn’t even 18. then when i joined your forum, i finally turned 18 that month. i remember how rp was mostly one liners back then but i had so much fun writing together and messaging each other in the pm system.

i honestly thought you were from the states, and god how over the years i wished you were! i would’ve met you 65890890 times by now. this freaking ocean between us and the fact that i’m a broke ass doesn’t help rofl. but i digress, i still plan on it one day! we already make plans for that day about what we wanna do LOL and you know the day you come here, i will have a thorough schedule of a million different things to do together. :P

i’ve told you countless times by now how glad i am that we reconnected last october. but, i’m going to take the time to say it again, alright? because, the two years spent not being friends, honestly felt like something was missing and that a light in my life had died out. i went through really dark times while we weren’t speaking, and i had to endure them alone. 

i survived, obviously. but it hurt a lot to feel so alone or like i couldn’t talk to anyone about it. because, let’s face it, you’ve always been my go-to, my shoulder to lean on, the one person in this world i trust with every part of me. that hasn’t changed despite the time apart and it won’t. you’re always one of the most compassionate and understanding, loyal people i know. 

 you are also one of the most creative, easy going, fun people i’ve ever known. we’ve written so many stories and plots over the years, friendships, enemies, lovers, siblings, we’ve done it all pretty much. and every time, i’ve always cherished each story, each plot, each interaction. why? because you’re my best friend, and you and i tend to make some pretty memorable content, even if that’s just me tooting my own horn lol!

it’s always been easy to talk to you, whether it’s rp related and we’re bouncing off ideas from each other or whether it’s personal and you or i needed someone to talk to.

i don’t think you realize just how beautiful a soul you are, and i understand the world has damaged you in some ways, as it has done to me. but i hope one day, you’ll realize that you are truly one of a kind. no one could ever replace you. that’s my wish for you though, that you’ll recognize how incredible you are and live a fulfilling and happy life, the way you should. 

maybe that’s why we were meant to be friends. so that we could teach other that we’re more than we believe we are, that we’re beautiful and loved, despite whatever trauma has happened to us. sometimes, i truly believe that you were meant for me, to be my friend, to be a part of my life. because if you hadn’t been, my life would have been so much more dull tbh.

everyone else we’ve met online has come and gone and you are the one constant person in my life, even though you are so terribly far away. yet, at times when i feel like giving up, you are also the same person who brings me back from that darkness. even when my heart is heavy, you find a way to brighten me up, make my world feel that much lighter again. thank you.

i just wanted to say that whether we’re chatting on discord, whatsapp, wherever, i always get happy to chat with you. and not a day goes by where we don’t laugh about something ridiculous but i fricken wouldn’t have it any other way.

to be honest, you give me hope in people and hope in life. two things that i struggle so hard to see, yet there you are, right in front of me, proving me wrong time and time again.

oh yeah oc was on the verge of a mental breakdown when he showed up rofl, damn near scared her. he was basically like a jumpscare LOL. but yeah for sure she didn’t expect him to come. i mean she basically told him and he was like ‘ok whatever’ and didn’t express interest and it’s not like he got an invite so she didn’t know he would actually go out of his way to show up. and yeah i agree, oc’s very internal with her feelings, or at least what happened all those years ago. it’s sensitive issues anyway that she’s left behind. or at least tried to.

Younger post-ep recap 6x06

Due to a rather unfortunate run in between my laptop and a glass of water I lost my original ramble for this week’s Younger (as well as the actual laptop so R.I.P Lappy, you were actually pretty terrible but we had a good run). So instead of my usual review I thought I’d do more of a recap and refresher of the last episode to get us prepped, primed and pumped (aka the 3 P's) for the next installment (ep7).

Episode 6 of Younger was in many ways so bonkers that it shouldn’t have worked, but somehow all the pieces came together and it did .Oh boy did it ever! I outright belly laughed a number of times throughout and I think my dog was mildly concerned for my well-being because there were actual tears coming out my eyes at a couple of points. I’m a sucker for a pun so ‘Merger, She Wrote’ had me at hello (you could say my hopes for the ep were high...yes I did and #notsorry). What I wouldn’t have given to be in the room to see the reactions to a script with ‘Liza goes to talk to the nurse who is actually a plant’ in it. So yes there were LOLs galore but most importantly, by the end of the ep order had been restored following the upheaval of the past 6 episodes (which is about the limit viewers can take sitting in the discomfort of an unfamiliar detour from the norm IMO: think the Bryce Reiger arc in season 3 and the Charles finding out the lie in season 5...it’s almost as though Darren and co. have done this before...), Finally the fam is back together at Millennial (or is it Mercennial now?)

Straight off the bat I was very distracted for most of the opening scene by Liza’s dress and look in general because it was AMAZING.  I am loving all the Maggie/Liza in the morning scenes we’re getting this season and Maggie in a blue coverall embarking on a DIY rope harness ceiling painting project...what could possibly go wrong? I felt mildly uncomfortable at how relatable Maggie’s not being served for 10 mins in a bar and sneaking out to the fridge in the night were, but was also mildly mesmerized by Liza’s coffee mug that looked like some kind of old-timey wash basin (turns out this was not relevant to the story but noted nonetheless). Maggie also offers the very straight forward solution of merging the two companies to alleviate the tension that’s putting Liza and Charles in ‘not a good place’ and I love that her ‘bing, bang, boom’ is echoed by Liza when she floats the idea with Charles later in the ep. 

The' Microdosing' book pitch provided us with the set up for the retreat and my fave thing about this scene was how IN character all the characters reactions were to it all; Diana is flat out appalled by the whole thing, Liza is Captain Cautious but trying to play it cool and Kelsey looks like she’s seeing colour for the first time and would 100% pledge her devotion to Travis in any kind of cult situation.

What might have seemed out of character, but actually ended up so perfectly capturing the way she always does everything with absolute gusto, was Diana's foray into boomer erotica narration (as Liza so eloquently put it, 'I think we just found our Seasoned Slut'. These lines, I swear *rofl emoji* )  I think I laughed through the entire scene of Diana in the recording studio, I mean, Miriam Shor's delivery of every line just kills me, but the highlight was undoubtedly when she suggested she could hit nipple a little harder and affirmed  'throbbing nipple' to herself as she walked back to the booth. Zane and creepy af Audrey Colbert waiting allowed for Diana to unsubtly hot foot it out of there, which was a great throwback to her refusal to be in the same room as Audrey in ep 3.

It was a also great opportunity to bring Zane and Kelsey back together and who doesn't love an awks 'accidentally had the mic open and didn't realize' moment when you're talking about how your author is definitely a murderer? I feel like Audrey may go and find another publisher now (just a hunch) but I would really like to see more of her because this character is a type of unhinged that we haven't seen on this show and I think that could be a lot of fun to see play out. I have to say that Kelsey Peters is NOT someone I picked as a boop-er of noses, yet there she was at the bar, booping Zane's nose and this was my favourite interaction of theirs in the series. I was totally digging the dynamic this ep and it will be very interesting to see what that will look like with the new work arrangements. Also, where was Zane when that was all going down btw? I assume Charles filled him in on the bringing the companies together plan before it happened?

Liza's excitement when she told Charles the idea of merging the two companies was endearing and I am unabashedly a big fan of Charles, but his attempt at convincing Liza to join him at Mercury after she tells him that she won't leave Millennial and Kelsey, by saying he left his company to be with her, was super shitty. But it was also super necessary. Because at some point this needed to be said and most importantly, Liza needed to call him out on it and let him know that he cannot use it as a bargaining chip. One of the things I love most about the Charles/Liza dynamic (aside from all the things, but that's another essay) is that Liza is her own advocate in this relationship, she will stand her ground when something is important to her and does not compromise herself to appease Charles. He is equally as stubborn but they are able to have the hard conversations that need to be had but this doesn’t lead them to question whether they want to be together (I very much appreciated the kiss on the cheek Liza gave Charles before she left for this very reason).

So of course being on a psychedelics retreat together when they've hit a roadblock in the relationship was definitely a very good idea...Well it was for us as viewers at least, because pretty much from the moment they arrive and Liza and Charles start talking straight to camera as the literal doctor (my god that whole line just cracked me up) informs them they'll be taking not-LSD, we know we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. Enter Josh for *insert drama here* purposes (and I do think he should franchise Inkburg coz why not?) and we have, ladies and gentlefolk, a recipe for some next level hilarity. But not before Josh and Liza share a lingering look as they take their dose of illicit substance to ensure that Lizs's trip includes one down memory lane.

I have made my feelings about love triangles known many times (quick recap: hard dislike. Tricky to pull off without one or more characters looking bad. Very tiring as a viewer and quite frankly I am pretty lazy and tired most of the time irl so just don't want it on my screen), however I will say that I did not see this ep as re-stoking the love triangle, I saw it as simply reminding us that it is there and can be reignited by the writers at any stage. Within the context of everything that was happening, Liza hallucinating Josh at her door actually made sense and I have no doubt that various factions of Younger fans had meltdowns at that moment for very different reasons.. Sutton Foster's physical comedy throughout this whole ep was second to none, starting at her realization that it was, in fact, Charles who had come to her room and continuing the next morning at breakfast.

Speaking of which, there was something about seeing Liza and Charles in the breakfast room together that made my sappy heart swell, it had such a vacay feel and I'm sure if you muted your volume you could pretend they were just listening to the activities for the day before going off to spend some quality time together...I mean, maybe that would be a thing, I wouldn't know....where was I? Oh yes, the unfolding of a series of comedy golden McNuggets™ that I am still laughing about. We learn that Liza is a supertaster (for those like me who pretended they understood what that meant but then realized they did not, I googled it and it means that she is sensitive to the drugs and basically the microdose affects her like a full dose, you're welcome) and I am chuckling even now when I think about Josh's, 'hey guys' in Charles' voice as he joins the table.

This is another one of those concepts that I feel like could've not worked at all but sweet lawd, the Charles and Josh voice swap scene was next level and I could watch this and the scene that follows over and over and never not laugh. I again LOVE the decision to have the guys talk to camera because it absolutely emphasizes the whole situation and Liza sidestepping away to visit the nurse just rounded off the whole crazy caper.

I have no words to describe how much I love the flat out ridiculous perfection of the visit to Nurse Maureen. Yes Liza has the epiphany that Josh and Charles bring out different things in her (though hot sex seems to be at the core of both so ya know, sounds like a win in the past and present and good for her on both accounts) and again, the unlikely scenario that her ex and current boyfriends are in the same place at the same time (while she is taking mind altering substance) has just played out so it also makes sense in this context. Quite frankly I'm shipping her and Maureen pretty hard at this point because a) it is not easy to pull off eyeshadow that green and b) everyone deserves someone in their life who has the kind of belief in Liza that Maureen does when she tells her 'I bet you can' dance just like me. I don't even know how to explain whatever that dance is but I just know that I want someone/something in my life that will windmill their/it's arms at me with such fervor that I find myself dancing with two attractive men in tuxedos on a galaxy stage.

I cannot express the joy I felt watching the entire dance scene, it was all just so. much. fun. But my absolute hands down favourite moment was when it cut back to the retreat and we, along with Charles and Josh, discover that Liza is in fact dancing with 'Maureen' the plant and seriously, this is up there with my highlights of the entire series. That and the reveal that the selfies Liza was taking were sent to Diana (Diana speaking to Liza in her 'sexy' voice, asking 'where is my plant?', Liza's, 'Maureen', I just cannot with every part of this glorious tie in at the end of the ep. I am sending Ashley Skidmore a houseplant to express my gratitude for gifting us with these moments*). Seeing Josh and Charles together was great but it was clear a scene was missing and I am SO glad that Younger released the deleted conversation between the two of them coz it was both necessary because YES and also because it suddenly made Charles' entire conversation and reason for his decision to sell Mercury make sense (ie. was pretty pivotal).

I big A adored Charles and Liza's conversation (and outfits and aesthetic overall) as they're leaving the retreat, the shift in Charles is palpable and it's just such a credit to the writing and acting to be able to convey so much in such a brief scene. Maggie of course experienced quite the shift herself, from ceiling to floor, with a sufficient amount of dangling as her helpful neighbourly pervert got himself off as she got herself down. But most importantly, Maggie got her mojo back (though is she not currently dating Beth? In which case location of missing mojo: unclear).

Now I gotta tell you, the final scene of this week's ep up and got me. Big time. Kelsey's earlier comment, that she really hates competing with Charles, certainly added weight to the resolution we've all been waiting for this season. Charles' honesty about his realisation that he is hurting his family, not to mention him confirming that he means Kelsey, Diana and Liza and that he wants to come home, ugh, my insides are gooey just writing these words, leads to his offer to Kesley and honestly, the interactions between all of them in this scene was wonderful. I loved that Kelsey held the room, that Charles was putting the offer to her from one businessperson to another (though thank goodness Diana was there to point out the difference between $1 and $1000000 eek! Also, I get that it would never occur to anyone that the price would be $1 so I'll cut Kels some slack). Diana looks like she is going to cry at any moment from elation and I love the way Kelsey asks for the approval of the ladies before shaking Charles' hand. This will forever be one of my favourite scenes on this show.

The thought of Charles coming back and working as an editor alongside Liza is an actual dream. I mean, I am very happy to be taken on the journey the writers set, but I have legit wondered what it would be like to see him in that role and he and Liza working together properly as equals and I absolutely cannot believe it's going to happen.

Well this ended up being quite a bit longer than I expected (lol, what a surprise). Bring on episode 7!

*I will not in fact be sending Ashley Skidmore a houseplant because I live in a very far away country, it would cost a lot of money and it is 1000% creepy to receive a dead plant from a stranger.

JOHN: yeah, i don’t want to do anything this year. i hope that’s ok." Looks like he still feels the same way like the past few years. D: I feel so sad for John. This really doesn't feel like a happy ending for him. If only he still had his Dad... Oh lord, so sorry for all the headcanons, but Imagine Hinata asking his friends for advice on confessing to Naegi... He would probably try to avoid Hanamura like the plague.

Anon, honestly just hit me with all your headcanons XD I love them, seriously!!! I also might have gone overboard, so it’s a bit long XD

SO thank you for another one! It’s actually always been a headcanon of mine that if Hajime was going to try to confess to someone, he’d definitely let it slip to Kazuichi or Fuyuhiko XD I mean, I think it would be more like Fuyuhiko noticing it first (or maybe Peko tells him lol) and then he keeps on heavily implying Hajime has a crush on someone (in this case, of course, it’s Makoto!). Kazuichi, meanwhile, is probably gonna be as thick as a brick. When he finds out (probably when Fuyuhiko is actually successful at coaxing it out of Hajime), he’s going to give terrible and cliche advice that only works in movies (or just... not at all XD). Fuyuhiko would probably be slightly more helpful, but he’s probably not great at explaining it either (especially since he’s one who hides his own feelings, too).

When it comes to Makoto, they’d probably just assume it should be easy for Hajime to confess to Makoto, and I imagine they even get involved in being a little too heavy-handed in forcing the two together in a non-work-related environment. I’m almost certain, though, that every piece of advice they give Hajime, and every situation they put them in, something goes terribly wrong to the point that it’s not exactly an appropriate time to confess his feelings to Makoto XD It would be an extremely frustrating thing for Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi, since they figured a nice guy like Makoto would be an easy person to confess to (even if he didn’t return your feelings, you knew he’d still consider you as a friend and tries not to make things awkward... that kind of deal!)

I bet that in the end, Hinata kind of just blurts it out without thinking while they are discussing some serious business (allocating resources to the survivors of the world post-apocalypse, for example), and it comes form out of nowhere and he’s looking at Makoto’s face change and wondering what happened XD. Blushy boys soon realize they actually have both been trying to confess to each other for months but no situation was ever appropriate enough for them to just say it XD

Other people that Hajime may try to get advice from (if we consider it in a post-canon world), I would think maybe Kyoko (We’ll just assume that Makoto and her tried. but it didn’t end up working out for them). Mahiru would also be a good choice, I think! She’d probably tell him to just tell Makoto regardless of the situation (”Be a man about it, Hajime!” Something like that?). I’d also assume that Nagito would always know about Hajime’s crush on Makoto and just tease him about it, sometimes a bit more harsh than he means to be XD I don’t know if he would encourage or discourage the relationship, honestly, and I think he’d be equally confused XD

As for Makoto, He would definitely talk about it to Kyoko and Togami! Asahina if she is around, too! I think that all of them would want to get him to tell Hajime directly, but Asahina suggests something more romantic! (Toko, if she hears about this, would probably tell him to be direct, but then start fantasizing about Byakuya confessing to her romantically XD) If he were to try to ask one of Hajime’s friends, for whatever reason, I feel like he may talk to Sonia? I mean, he’d probably try to talk to Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi about it, but if Hajime got to him first, they’d probably be super awkward about it and then run off in fear of telling him themselves instead of letting Hajime do it XD

Regardless, the only thing I can think of is funny shenanigans where the answer was always to just speak directly to each other of ho much they like each other, but in fear of messing up, they end up stalling XD

This was fun, but sorry if my answers are too long sometimes XD I think I am just excited since Hinaegi Festival is sooo close! :D
