12. Playful Kiss

“Oh, Sigma~! Guess what time it is!”

“No,” Sigma replied immediately, electing to ignore the clown currently spinning around the kitchen like a violent tornado seeking to destroy everything in its immediate path. Sigma just pressed himself up against the counter and continued to focus on the task at hand.

“But Sigma—”

“No. Whatever it is can wait. Can’t you see that I’m busy?”

Sigma didn’t need to look at Nikolai to know that his whole face had twisted into the most overdramatic pout ever. He could hear the exaggerated sniffles, and he refused to give them any attention. He was busy, and Nikolai could wait.

“So you hate me now? Is that it?” Nikolai’s voice wavered, but Sigma didn’t buy the act for even a second.

“Gogol—”

“Ack, not the last name! You do hate me!”

“Stop it, I don’t hate you! I’m just doing something important!” Before some kind of catastrophe could occur, Sigma set aside his handful of baking supplies and turned to the teary-eyed menace currently trying to distract him. He raised an eyebrow at Nikolai’s wobbling lip and had to purse his own to keep from smiling at the unfortunately very cute sight.

“I’m not important?” Nikolai asked, his voice small and teeming with artificial despair.

“It worries me that you have to ask,” Sigma mumbled before he sighed and placed his hands on his hips. He mustered the strength to keep a straight face, but Nikolai’s noisy sniffling nearly ruined his efforts immediately. “Kolya, look around you. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m in the middle of making cookies.”

Nikolai’s owlish gaze swept the room, his expression blank as he took in the rows of cookies that had just finished cooling. Then he peered around Sigma at the collection of ingredients and the stand mixer still sitting on the counter. “So that’s what you’re doing!”

“That should have been obvious!”

“Really? I was too busy feeling unloved.” Nikolai gave one more fake-ass sniffle before he finally dropped the act. Curiously, he reached over to poke at one of the cookies and frowned at his discovery. “Aren’t the cookies done, though? What do you have left to do?”

“I still need to make the icing and decorate them. It takes concentration to get the icing just right, so if you’ll just—”

“Oh? Why?” Nikolai pressed closer, his eyes gleaming with interest. He loomed his way into Sigma’s personal space, their noses nearly touching as he awaited Sigma’s answer with rapt attention.

“Well—! They’re black and white cookies. My favorite. And they’ll look stupid if I don’t get the colors exactly right,” Sigma explained, his face warming at Nikolai’s unnecessary proximity. This close, he could see the exact moment when Nikolai’s expression brightened. He’d latched onto some tiny piece of information, likely the most inconsequential detail, and Sigma scowled at the sight of Nikolai’s suddenly sharp grin.

“Black and white cookies are your favorite?! Wow, Sigma! That’s so predictable.”

“How the hell is that predictable?”

“Aw, that should be obvious! These cookies clearly remind you of me!” Nikolai explained with such confidence that Sigma might have actually believed him if the reason hadn’t sounded so absurd.

“Why would you even think that?” Sigma muttered as he pushed Nikolai out of his space. He still had icing to make, and if he let Nikolai keep talking, Sigma knew that he’d be kidnapped before he could get his cookies decorated! He would just have to entertain Nikolai and make the icing.

Easier said than done.

“I often wear black and white, so of course they’re you’re favorite! It’s so wonderfully predictable of you to choose your favorite cookie based on the man you adore!” Nikolai prattled on, thankfully ignoring Sigma’s choice to return to his baking. Maybe he’d at least be able to measure out the ingredients while Nikolai was distracted.

Then two long arms slipped around him, and broad hands squeezed his waist. Sigma couldn’t hold in an undignified squeak, and he dug his elbow back, nudging Nikolai’s ribs in a warning that the clown would likely choose to ignore. Frustrated with both Nikolai and himself, Sigma reached for the powdered sugar to begin measuring. “You certainly think highly of yourself! For your information, I liked black and white cookies before I met you.”

“Oh?” Nikolai nestled closer. His fingers twitched, as though he’d just restrained himself from tickling Sigma’s sides, and Sigma hesitated to fill the measuring cup with sugar. “Or maybe you started liking these delightfully-colored cookies even more after you met me?”

Sigma swallowed, his throat too dry and his cheeks too warm for comfort. “That’s ridiculous.”

“You didn’t deny it!” Nikolai sang into his ear as he hugged him tighter. He sounded far too pleased with himself, and Sigma doubted he would’ve been able to change Nikolai’s mind no matter how hard he tried.

But… if he couldn’t convince Nikolai that he and the cookies were unrelated, then why should he bother?

“Maybe you’re right.”

Nikolai’s snickering quieted down. His whole body stilled, and Sigma swore he could hear the hard bob of his throat as he swallowed. “… What?”

“You heard me.” Sigma turned his head, and the sheer surprise he found on Nikolai’s face emboldened him. He leaned up to give Nikolai a slow, teasing kiss, one so sweet that he couldn’t help indulging himself for a few seconds longer. When he pulled away, Nikolai’s eyes had gone comically wide, and Sigma knew it would only take one final blow to secure his hard-earned victory.

“I said, maybe you’re right. Maybe I do like black and white kisses even more now.”

“Oh.” Nikolai blinked at him a few times but said nothing else, apparently too shocked to keep up with his usual taunts.

Satisfied with this unexpected development, Sigma turned back around to measure out the powdered sugar while he waited for Nikolai’s brain to reboot. He probably had time to get the ingredients safely into the bowl before Nikolai retaliated in some way.

Of course, Sigma expected to be tickled. To feel those wriggling fingers dig into his sides at the perfect moment, and then he’d spend the rest of his afternoon cleaning up sugar while Nikolai’s howling laughter lingered in the kitchen like a catchy song stuck on repeat.

What he didn’t expect was for Nikolai’s grip on him to tighten, for the clown’s hat to tumble from his head as he buried his face into Sigma’s shoulder, his chest heaving with a frustrated huff against Sigma’s back.

“I’m helping you decorate your cookies.”

Sigma finished measuring out the sugar with a smile. He dumped it into the mixing bowl before he turned his head, letting Nikolai give him a few flighty kisses. Nikolai’s grin usually gave him cause for concern, but he didn’t hate it so much when he could feel the vicious curve of it so sweetly against his own mouth.

��Sure. You can help.”

“Good!” Nikolai nuzzled their noses together, his eyes sparkling with such familiar mischief that Sigma’s veins filled with dread. “I’ll be sure to make them look really ugly! ”

“Of course you will.”

“We might just get away with it.” you laughed, your giggles echoing in the empty Polar Tang, which now officially became the perfect refuge for your sweet escapes. There was no going back at this point and the two of you knew it - your lips became Law’s religion, his hips becoming the altar of your lovesick cult. Like magnets, your bodies couldn’t bare standing far from each other - it was stronger than you, like a slight electric shock running through every nerve in your body and making you act before you could even think about it.

Law was busy leaving a trail of wet, lustful kisses on your neck to give you a proper answer, so he just hummed in response. He was sure he could technically diagnose himself as clinically addicted to you; he longed for you and every time your scent overwhelmed his sense, a stupid rush of dopamine invested his body completely. He couldn’t get enough of you - he could never give up this. The feeling of your skin against his made his mind almost glitch as he discovered new extents of pleasure and happiness every time he laid with you. It wasn’t just that - it wasn’t just lust; Law knew it was love by the way his heart trembled in his chest every time he saw you getting too close with someone that wasn’t him, how happy it would make him to just receive even the slightest sign of affection when the two of you were out in public.

“I think they know already.” he whispered against your bare skin, leaving a purple hickey on your cleavege. Law wanted to mark his territory, to let everyone know you were his and his only - that there was someone that mattered to you more than anyone else on that stupid ship. Law was ready to risk it all for you.

“Hey, hey..” you giggled in response, lifting Law’s head up by placing your index finger under his chin. “How will I cover this?” you asked, raising an eyebrow. It was a genuine question, but you couldn't help but smirk - you were worried about your cremates finding out - especially this way. But the most selfish part of you enjoyed seeing Law like this, feeding off you and leaving marks on your skin like a silly teenager in love. Jealousy looked good on Law, making him even more irresistible. He was the man of your life, you knew that in one way or another, you would have run away with him - but while you were trying to figure out the best way to do it, you enjoyed Law being all crazy about you, fighting against himself to hold back and not make a scene, finding sneaking way to let everyone know you belonged to him.

“You don’t?” he smirked, climbing up your body and resting his forehead against yours. He bit your bottom lip, pulling you closer to him. “What a shame.” he scrunched his nose, faking a sorry expression. Giggling in response, you lightly smacked his cheek. “You're terrible.” you answered, making him laugh. Quick to switch position, he laid on his back and invited you between his arms, letting your head rest on his chest.

“Have you told anyone?” he asked, his tone immediately becoming more serious. He liked the teasing and hiding away, but days were going by quicker than he thought and the depart date became closer and closer.

The two of you agreed you would have discussed it with someone you trusted, just to make sure you didn't step on anyone’s feet. It wasn't a problem for Law - although he had grown to somewhat like Luffy, he was ready to fight for you, to give up this stupid alliance - there was nothing that could stop him. But you cared for your captain, you believed in his dream and you travelled with him for years now. The straw hat pirates were your family and although you loved Law with every fibre of your body, it still wasn’t easy to leave everyone behind. You didn't know what to expect - would Luffy understand? You would still be allies, after all; or at least you hoped so. Zoro would have thought of you as a traitor, you were sure of that - he was your captain’s best man. How could you explain a love like this? There were no words that could describe the entity of this - it wasn't just a fling - you could feel Law underneath your skin, every cell of your body ached for him; your heart struggled to beat properly when he wasn’t around. You needed him, the closure between the two of you was the best thing that ever happened to you.

“I talked to Robin.” you sighed, latching your arm against Law’s torso and holding him tight, snuggling against his chest. He only nodded in response, waiting for you to say something more than that.

“She understands. I didn’t even need to say a lot to her - I think Chopper knows too. He visited me a while ago when were.. you know, not talking. And he knew there was no medicine to fix what was going on.” you shrugged your shoulders, almost feeling guilty for letting your crew mates know so much already.

“That’s a relief.” he added, kissing the top of your head. He knew this wasn’t easy for you - he didn't want to isolate you, he knew they were your friends, he knew he was asking for a lot. Sometimes, the tiniest insecurity made its way to his heart, torturing his mind with questions - were you really sure? Were you as in love as he was? Were you ready to give up everything and start over again? A long sigh escaped his lips as these thoughts clouded his mind again, even if you were right in his arms, even if your bodies were intertwined between the sheets where you just made love. Was this enough for you?

The day continued as usual after that conversation, a cold veil fell between the two of you. You didn’t ask about him; you figured Law confided in Bepo, but what kind of advice would he give his captain? Things were easier for Law than they were for you, you needed time to figure everything out.

When you reached the rest of the crews, it seemed like they were waiting for you. Entering the headquarters of your secret base, both you and Law silently took a sit and joined the apparent reunion.

“What happened?” Law asked, worried that the enemy might have discovered your hideout, blowing out the whole plan.

“Someone took our alliance way too far, uh?” Zoro spitted out through grinned teeth, everyone turning their heads to look at you and Law, casually sitting next to each other.

Blood rushed to your cheeks colouring them of a scarlet red, whilst Law kept his usual composure - he only grinned slightly, something about pissing Zoro off fed his ego more than he expected.

“Care to explain?” Law asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Why didn’t you tell us?” Nami intervened, elbowing Zoro and giving you a softer look than the marimo. “We would have understood.” she added truthfully. Nami was more kindhearted than many would think - but it was something she reserved for very few people. Luckily, you were one of them - she loved you just as an older sister would, her words were heartfelt and you knew it.

A shiver run through your spine - is this how things were going to go? A massive fight? This felt like a process, your crew being the judges of the worst betrayal in history. Your hands were shaking as the fear of being hated by the people you grew up with insinuated in your heart. Law was quick to notice these signs, and quickly laid his hand on the back of your shoulders, gently running his palm up and down your back, trying to calm you down.

“How..” you mumbled. Your eyes scanned the room, trying to look for Robin’s gaze - did she tell everything? Nope, couldn't be her. Everyone kept silent, your captain not speaking a word. This was killing you, you never imagined this to be so difficult - it was love, what was there to be mad about?

“It’s okay, you know.” Luffy finally said, his usual smile forming on his lips. “I will always be your captain, however. You will always be a Straw Hat.”

Before Law could argue against Luffy’s claim, you kicked his leg. This was not about him - you needed to hear this. You trusted your captain, you firmly believed he would become the King of Pirates - you dedicated your heart to the cause and leaving the island with Law meant you were still his biggest ally, ready to fight if he only asked you to.

“And it was obvious, by the way.” Penguin said, scratching the back of his head. “We all noticed your sneak outs, the terrible mood Law was in when you didn’t speak.. you aren’t great actors.” he shrugged his shoulders, making everyone in the room laugh.

A wave of relief crashed against you, all of your muscles suddenly relaxing. Getting up, you run into your captain’s arms. Luffy was quick to reciprocate, locking you in a tight hug.

“You know I love Tra!” he screamed, stretching his arm to grab your lover and letting him join your hug, who mumbled stupid complaints about Luffy’s usual affection.

In all honesty, however, even Law was relieved. He knew how much your friends meant to you - he would die for his crew, and it was only obvious that you would do the same for yours. He would never ask you to betray them - he just wanted to live with you.

After the strange trial that went out, the crews got together to celebrate your union. Sanji prepared a wonderful dinner, rivers of booze were running down the table as everyone celebrated you and Law together. Everyone saw how miserable the two of you became when you tried to part ways - you were meant to be together. It was a new beginning, and everyone was happy about it - more or less. Of course there were tears - Chopper being inconsolable, crying seamlessly on your shoulder. It was hard to let you go.

When the booze finally kicked and the attention shifted away from the two of you, Law finally reached for your hands, pulling you close to him.

“Do you want to dance?” he whispered into your ear.

“Hello, handsome.” you smiled, quickly grabbing his hand. “It would be a pleasure.” you added, letting him take you in his arms and guide your movements, lulling you to the rhythm of the song Brook was playing.

“This feels like a ceremony.” you laughed, latching your arms around his neck. He smirked in response, kissing your forehead.

“Who knows.”

Work is kicking my butt lately so I have had less creativity flowing through me when it comes to proper fics, I apologise!

Warnings: It’s a tickle fic???

Summertime in Sumeru meant hot and humid temperatures. Most city dwellers would flock to the nearby lakes or Port Ormos to cool off. All except the Scribe, who was a serial napper and ‘I am going to stay indoors’ when it came to this type of weather. Though, his roommate Kaveh was also suffering due to the extreme temperatures, having shed most of his outfit off at this point and spread himself across the couch, his legs and feet invading Alhaitham’s personal space, who in retaliation also laid across from him and placed his own feet in Kaveh’s lap.

It was no secret to a select few in Sumeru that there was something more between them, but they are both too stubborn to admit it.

“This position is making me feel hotter… get your legs off me…” Kaveh whined, nudging at Alhaitham’s feet in his lap.

“I am just returning the favour, seeing as you sprawled yourself out over me first.”

“You are a pain…”

“A pain you continue to be affectionate with?” Alhaitham smirked as Kaveh gave him the middle finger lazily, covering his pink face with his other hand.

The Scribe chuckled to himself and gently squeezed Kaveh’s ankle, meaning for it to be a gentle gesture. That is until the blond shrieked and kicked his leg into Alhaitham’s chest.

“W-What was that for!? I… don’t do that!!” The architect sat up in a huff, his face now red as he pouted.

“Huh…? Is that… not supposed to be affectionate…? I… oh.” Alhaitham, having caught on, began to scribble his fingers slowly over Kaveh’s soft ankles.

“H-Hey! Aaaahhh!!! S-Stahahahahaap!!!” The blond’s reaction was immediate, throwing himself back onto the couch, squealing and giggling, trying to kick Alhaitham. “Y-You know better than t-to tihihickle meehehehehee!!!”

“Ah, but I have never tested this spot before… I know your feet are ticklish though.” Alhaitham teases, he gets a tighter grip on Kaveh’s ankle and traces his nails along the soft soles. The sound Kaveh made could have possibly shattered a window, and it certainly caused Mehrak to jump up from its spot by the door, making a little angry face at Alhaitham.

“Look your weird toolbox is mad, be quiet or the neighbours will hear us~”

“A-ALHAITHAAAHAHAHAHAM!!!!” Kaveh squirmed and kicked his legs as the assault on his soles and ankles continued, if he wasn’t already feeling the heat from the weather then he was definitely feeling it now. His face red with embarrassment and laughter, and his legs were in a firm trap, Alhaitham having wrapped his own around them to keep him in place.

“Whhhheeheheheeheheyyyyyyyy!!! MEHRAK HEHEHEHEELLLPP!!”

The poor toolbox was confused, looking back and forth between the two, eventually deciding that nothing was needed doing and it reverted back to its sleep-state. “Heh, looks like it doesn’t think you’re under any threat.” Alhaitham continued to spider his fingers along Kaveh’s soles.

“I AM UNDER THREAT! I AM UNDER THREEEAHAHAHAHAHT!!!”

Kaveh began jerking his entire body to try and escape the younger man's grip to no avail, picking up a pillow instead and smacking him with it while the ticklish sensations continued to travel up his legs from his feet. It was becoming too unbearable and he was getting desperate, why did his feet have to be so sensitive? Stupid Alhaitham with his stupid smirk on his face and his stupid strength because he secretly isn’t a feeble scholar…

Kaveh made a squeaking sound as Alhaitham focused on his arches, “NAHAHAHAT THEHEHEHEHEERREEE!!! F-Fuck off you ass!!” Through his tears of laughter the older genius finally realised he could start to tickle Alhaitham’s feet in return as they were right there wrapped around him.

“T-Take this!” Kaveh weakly began to scribble the scribe’s soles in return, earning a soft chuckle from the younger man.

“Quihit that~” Alhaitham’s feet weren’t as ticklish as Kaveh but he could feel his grip loosening on his senior.

“N-No! Stop tickling me and I-I will stop tickling you!” Kaveh huffed, weakly trying to retaliate. He then suddenly had a wonderful idea… “Mehrak! Mehrak I am under threat! Get Alhaitham for me!” Kaveh pleaded with his toolbox companion who was idle on the floor, it perked up upon hearing its name called and made a curious emote on its small screen. “Mehrak grab his hands!”

Alhaitham found himself quickly restrained by Mehrak’s telekinetic abilities, leaving him highly vulnerable, “K-Kaveh… What is this? Don’t… Don’t even think about it….”

“Don’t even think about what?”

“I am not falling for that… Do. Not. Tickle. Me.” Alhaitham tried to sound serious but his little smile was giving it away. Kaveh knows Alhaitham can be more ticklish when he is unable to stop it, so now was the perfect opportunity.

“Ah sorry my age must be affecting my hearing!” Kaveh teased before gently scritching the underside of Alhaitham’s toes. He immediately lets out a half covered snort and can’t help but kick his legs softly, “K-Kaveh! Pff- hnng- ugh stahap!” A soft squeak comes out as Alhaitham feels himself getting warmer, probably just from the hot summer day- definitely not the tickling. Kaveh’s nails were exploring other areas of his feet now and he couldn't hold it much longer, it also didn’t help that his arms were currently being restrained by his roommate's weird suitcase.

“K-Kaveheheh… s-stop that! Pff- Nohohoho!” The ticklish feeling on his arches now were becoming too much and a few soft squeaks escaped the younger man's mouth, he desperately tries to free his hands from Mehrak to cover his face but the telekinesis is strong.

“Nuh-uh Alhaitham~ No trying to escape now, not until I hear a proper laugh!” The blond softly rakes both of Alhaitham’s feet, the sensations traveling from his feet and through his whole body are too much and he finally gives in.

“Pfffff- NAHAHAHAAA STAHAHAAAP!! Heheheheheh! Quihihit ihihit K-Kaveehhehehh!!!” The Scribe can only throw his head back and let out a raspy laugh with the occasional squeak, much to his dismay and Kaveh’s delight, “Aw is my junior a bit sensitive? Tickle tickle tickle!” The architect teases as he continues his ticklish attack on Alhaitham’s feet.

“K-Kaveh I swear hahaha- Ahhh! D-Dohohohon’t!!” Alhaitham feels Kaveh’s fingers make their way up the back of his leg to his knees, “KAVEH Dooooon’t!!!!!”

“He finally gives in! I knew you loved it when I tickle you~”

“AHAHAHA! NOOOHHOHOHOO!”

“Ah-ha-hah- yes don’t you mean?” Kaveh smirks as he gets to see this softer and less restrained side of Alhaitham.

“AAAH!! OKAY OKAY!!! I GIVE I GIHIHIHIHIIIVE!!!”

Kaveh seems to snap back into the reality that it is a really hot day, not realising how red and sweaty the two of them have become on the couch. He lets the scribe go and commands Mehrak to release his arms, of which Alhaitham immediately brings down to wipe his bangs out of his face. Kaveh can’t help but blush and think how good Alhaitham looks when his hair isn’t covering his eyes…

“Ah… heh sorry, but it was nice to have the upper hand in a tickle fight for once~”

“You cheated… using your stupid toolbox…”

“Hey! Mehrak is not stupid! Don’t make me get it again so I can tickle you elsewhere!”

Alhaitham tossed one of the cushions at Kaveh’s head, “Not on a day like this… jeez I am sweating so much, I think a cold shower is in order… ugh.”

“Well, this is what you get for tickling me! You should have known better than to start this on a day like today…”

“Well, maybe you shouldn’t be so ticklish.”

“Hey!”

I think Toji dislikes hand holding at first. It feels weird, almost uncomfortable but he grows used to it, needs it even. His hands are big so chances are yours are (a lot) smaller and he thinks it's absolutely adorable. The way your hand can't even grab onto his properly, just holding fingers.

His hands are rough, callouses and scars littering on his skin but his touch is gentle - He tries at least.

When it's late at night and he can't sleep he's watching you sleep for a while, a lazy smile on his scarred lips when a single finger caresses your cheekbone with such tenderness you don't wake up from it and it amazed him just how much trust you hold, just peacefully sleeping next to him.

i was trying to go to bed but my brain wouldn’t let me sleep until i typed this out so hope you enjoy: steph wearing a crop top in npmd had me thinking that she likes to wear them often, and once she and pete start dating they’ll just be hanging out and steph will stretch her arms up which exposes her stomach (more than the crop top already does) and pete can’t help the urge to sneak in a poke or a scribble to her stomach or sides, and to me steph feels like she’d get a little unintentionally violent when someone tries to tickle her when her guard is down (like accidentally smacking or kicking or elbowing someone) and so she shrieks and lands a perfectly aimed Whack on pete’s shoulder which catches him off guard this time and he immediately yelps and pulls his hand back. and of course steph feels a bit guilty and apologizes for it to which pete will sweetly reassure her like “it’s okay it didn’t hurt that much <3” before suddenly launching a proper tickle attack on her as payback and being all “how dare you what did i ever do to deserve that </3” just to be a bastard - fluffvoid

Aaaahhh this is so cute!! I can absolutely see this happening! Steph loves to try to provoke him by stretching & wearing crop tops, but she can’t control her reactions once he gets her. Pete loves teasing her about it & using it as an excuse to keep wrecking her & she honestly can’t complain because that’s what she wanted all along 😂

He loves being mischievous, especially with his super hot girlfriend. & despite her thrashing, she doesn’t really try to get away from him, so he’s got his suspicions that she doesn’t totally hate it. & he’s really starting to pick up on all the ways she tries to get him to tickle her

Ok but imagine: Peter sees her stretching, but when he sneaks up to tickle her she accidentally elbows him pretty hard. & it’s maybe the first time he’s tried a sneak attack & he mistakes her reflex for her not wanting him to tickle her. So he recoils & apologizes & says he won’t do it again & Steph is internally panicking like noooo 🥺 because she WANTS him to try again but her stupid body made him think she doesn’t want him to do it. But she’s too prideful to ask for it (yet) so she just keeps trying to provoke him in increasingly obvious ways. & Peter knows the whole time he’s just an asshole (he is Ted’s brother after all)

I just felt like I had to let you know, I never was a Zolu shipper, actually. Mostly, I enjoy the entire crew being completely platonic with each other.

THAT being said, you write them SO fucking well that you're basically converting me to them, but it's not the reason I follow you and stuff. Your writing is just... So good and evocative and you somehow always makes the most interesting plots, handdle them so interestingly and have the best Luffy in general.

(Somehow, a well written Luffy is always difficult to find 😭)

As he watches, she plants her feet in front of Luffy, who stops—staring at her with wide, curious eyes, mouth still half-full of food. Her knuckles tint white where she has them clasped together. Zoro blinks, stunned, but Luffy must see something her expression, must pick up on something because he tilts his head at her like a kind of curious animal—and then Kuina bows.

In one formal, breathy rush, she says, “Thank you for taking care of my stupid, gross little cousin. He’s not a very good swordsman, and he gets lost easily, and he’s terrible at talking to people—so he needs someone to watch out for him.”

And Luffy laughs, throwing his head back, and Kuina’s own head whips up with a kind of stunned expression on her face.

“He is stupid! And he’s gross!” Luffy crows, and Zoro sputters. “But Nami keeps us from getting lost, and he talks to me just fine, and—didn’t you know?” he says, grinning, leaning forward again. “He’s going to be the greatest swordsman.” He stands up straight, and Kuina blinks at him, her expression faltering—then Luffy asks, eyes sharp but still smiling, “You’re the white sword, right?”

Kuina frowns, “The—”

“Wa-do I-chi-mon-ji,” Luffy enunciates, hitting each syllable like he’s practiced it over and over again. Like he’s memorized it with intention, one of the few names among hundreds that matters enough to remember. And Zoro feels a kind of nausea in the base of his throat, a bundle of emotions he doesn’t want to deal with, because he knows Luffy knows his swords, but he’s never bothered to ask if he knew them.

A Zoro watches, Kuina looks at Luffy a little warily—like maybe he’s playing some kind of trick on her. She’s still stiff-backed, not quite risen from her bow, and there’s a formality to her posture that seems so wrong directed at Luffy. Habits drilled into them both about respect, respect, respect for the people with power.

Slowly, carefully, she says, “It’s my sword.”

“No, it’s not. It’s Zoro’s sword.” Then, peering at her, he gives a decisive nod. “I’m right,” he says.

“About wha—” Kuina starts, clearly frustrated—already forgetting that Luffy is a Captain because he’s just so Luffy.

Then, without warning, he beams at her—one hand on his hat in a gesture Zoro has seen a thousand times, but that he knows—in that way he always knows what Luffy is thinking—means he’s swearing on the most precious thing in the world that what he’s saying is true. “Thank you,” he says, grinning, “for Zoro.”

And Kuina looks at him, startled. “Don’t thank me for something I didn’t do.”

Luffy tilts his head, frowning at her like he’s thinking, even though Zoro knows—can see him assessing her. “Did you know he fights with his teeth?” he says, gesturing wildly. “He puts the sword in his mouth and—that way, the only way someone can take the sword is by taking his head, too. You’re his treasure.”

“That’s so stupid,” she laughs, almost forgetting, and Luffy grins at her. “He’s so stupid.”

“And strong, and cool, and kind, and funny, and strong—”

“You already said that.”

“Because it’s true!” Luffy says like she’s stupid, and Kuina makes a face because she hates that kind of tone on deep, existential level, Zoro knows. Too many lectures synonymizing stupid with girl, even though Luffy wouldn’t know (or care) if they beat him over the head with it. Case in point, Luffy sticks his tongue out at her. “What’s that look for?” he says, frowning. “Shouldn’t you be proud? You made him that way.”

And deeply, intrinsically, inexplicably Zoro feels like something’s lodged in his throat even though he hasn’t even touched his food—

—but Luffy looks up, then, and catches his eye, and his Captain absolutely lights up as he scrambles over, already moving on from Kuina and whatever that was—leaving a blinking, bewildered little girl behind in the grass.

My thoughts on the rest of Crystalized!!!

So... I'm obviously extremely late to the party 😅

I kinda fell out of the fandom and the show, which is a bit sad since I've been a long time fan since the Masters of Spinjitzu era, but I do wanna finish it. Especially since more stuff is coming this way as well between Dragon Rising and that new LEGO Dreamzzz! BACK TO THE LEGO RABBIT HOLE I GO! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I watched the season until episode 12 so they way I left it was Lloyd being kidnapped (AGAIN), the guys are criminals, there's an evil organization made of the villains of Ninjago and Harumi is back. So, troubles

Now, I think I got a couple of spoilers, although I'm not 100% sure. I know everything is well at the end because of course it is, I know Garmadon comes back which I really wanna see, the Overlord is back because of course it's the flipping last season after all and I think Haruki gets... redemption? 🤨

I thought her dying the way her parents did because of her own actions was enough but eh, what do I know 😅😅 Not a fan of this but who knows, maybe it's gonna be good!

Don't think people care about these thoughts, but I like putting them down so eh 🙃

Still feels Masters of Spinjitzu was superior, but there is greatness in this one as well and there are moments I truly loved
