i cant stop thinking about nwp logistics. when the survivors woke up from it what was it like. was it like when youre in a dream and it feels so real then you wake up and the reality of it is gone. do the memories feel like real life. and for the people that died during the simulation what happened to them while it was still ongoing...... were they something like ghosts like in among us just spectating? were they still in the code but just not in any way conscious, was it more like dreamless sleep or like a vague confusing and jumbled fever dream, when they got up did they have to be told the events of the simulation that they missed or did they just somehow... know? despite not exactly consciously witnessing it? and then waking them up...... we got 2.5 with komaeda but what about the others????? was it really easy for some and more difficult for others, and how fast did any of them wake up..... what were their 'worlds' like and what happened to wake them up. world destroyer took a violent route with komaedas but maybe depending on the person it didnt have to be violent?

Penelope was pretty sure her betrothed, Lord Debling, had been replaced by what is her best guess some sort of demon.
The witch first became suspicious when the imposter brought her a book instead of another plant. Debling always brings her a plant. One that is often replanted in a certian part of the garden so Penelope does not forget about it, despite those plants not being very useful for spells or potions. This book the imposter gave, though, Penelope found herself at a loss for words. The next gift was a new inkwell made of a precious gem that sparkled in the light. It was gorgeous and possibly the most beloved gift Penelope has ever received.
Well, the imposter certainly gave better gifts than her betrothed.
Her next suspicion arose when the imposter twirled Penelope in the rain. The imposter had snuck up on Penelope when she was feeling a bit giddy, splashing and dancing through the puddles in the square. The imposter fell into perfect step in her dance. There, they found themselves laughing like school children. Penelope also noticed that for one reason or another, the imposter was having some trouble holding his form. Brief flashes of brown curls instead of slicked blonde, green eyes that glowed like emeralds, instead of plain blue. Debling would have never danced with her like this.
Penelope asked the imposter for a kiss. By this point, she felt she could call the imposter her friend, and maybe at least once she'll know a kiss of someone who sees her more than a convenience to his responsibilities. The imposter clung to her during their kiss and it felt glorious.
By the time they were two weeks away from the wedding the imposter got acting like Lord Debling down to perfection when they were around others. Penelope doesn't like it. Lord Debling was always indifferent to her, she was a solution to his problem of needing someone to run his estate while he chased after his work. At times, it felt like the imposter knew more about Penelope than her old betrothed did. The imposter certainly picked up on Penelope's emotions better. Always subtley changing the act to make Penelope smile.
When they were alone though, on the rare occasion the imposter seemed to refuse to not being in constant skin contact with Penelope. From hand holding, to kissing, to that one carriage ride where Penelope found her betrothed ravishing her chest. It was like a flood gate opened after the imposter got a taste of Penelope with that first kiss. Penelope found herself participating more eagerly with each new experience. But she always stopped before the imposter could get under her skirts.
There was one thing the imposter always had trouble hiding. He had a bigger appetite than Lord Debling ever did. He also wasn't as picky as Lord Debling, whose vegetarian diet always made him weary of what was being served to him. Actually, the imposter always seemed displeased when they couldn't eat all the options available.
Portia seemed to catch on and when the imposter came to call she made sure there was only had vegetarian options available.
"You must keep your betrothed happy, Penelope," the older witch said. "You will be rewarded with security."
Felicity also didn't like that the imposter could pull off a perfect imitation of Debling. Nor was she afraid to voice these thoughts out loud. "You should go back to how you were a couple of weeks ago. It made my sister happier."
The imposter chuckeled. "I'll keep that in mind."
When Penelope married the imposter, she was carried away to a home in Bloomsbury. The imposter swiftly pulled Penelope in for a kiss and laying her on the bed. One hand firmly planted on Penelope's breasts while the other explored the rest of her body. She could feel that hand pulling up her skirts.
Penelope pushed the imposter away. Cheeks flushed, and chest heaving for air. "You can drop the disguise. I rather see you."
The imposter blinked before laughing. Running a hand through Penelope's hair, and kissing her forehead. "Oh Penelope, my clever witch."
The form of Lord Debling melted away into a beautiful woman, too beautiful to be human. Brown curls fell down her back, with green glowing eyes, a coy smile on her face. A pair of rams horns curl around the sides of her head. She had nails that looked to be as sharp as knives. She's taller than Penelope's former betrothed, damn. Now Penelope is gonna have to learn some levitation or flying spells just to kiss her wife. Well, at least she was right about the imposter being a demon.
Penelope's magical energy brushed against her wife. She felt hunger, one that food would not satisfy.
"You're a succubus," Penelope said, eyes wide. She wasn't scared. If her wife truly wanted to, she could have sucked out Penelope's energy long before now. There were plenty of opportunities to do it before the wedding.
"I'm Colleen," Penelope's wife replied, crawling back on top of the witch. One hand slowly trailing up Penelope's leg. "And I can't wait to finally have all of you, my dear wife."

listen I think most discourse about this chenford fight is going to be pointless in the end because of how short-lived we all know it’s going to be so I don’t want to engage with it too much but I will say my only criticism is that I do feel lucy was made to be a bit overly hysterical. I don’t think that’s tim’s fault though, nor is it hers, because it’s a valid response to the big stress she’s going through right now. but also worth noting is that she did ask for tim to ride with her and to test her today. she did that knowing what tutor/teacher tim is like and she did that wanting to prove herself. maybe tim should have known when to step in or else the scene wouldn’t have been compromised and a real case wouldn’t have been jeopardized but I don’t think he could have dealt with lucy’s emotions and supported her any better.
as someone who is very much like lucy in that I get irrationally snippy when I’m flustered, under stress, feeling insecure, and doubting myself (mine and lucy’s 4 main moods I guess lol) I know that often nothing can be said in those moments that will make me see sense and feel calmer or more confident. external support can only go so far when you’re not practicing proper emotional regulation. that’s something everyone can work on and it’s not something lucy did wrong it just means she hadn’t grounded herself yet. also, tim knows her so so well but obviously he can’t always know the perfect thing to say to make her feel better. they may have known each other for years but their romantic relationship is still very new so he’s going to mess up and be imperfect. these are still new waters they’re navigating and I do lean more towards tim’s side with this one but I have empathy for lucy right now more than ever, because obviously it sucks to be teased at work for making a mistake. NOT COOL GUYS!
but yeah, those are my thoughts basically. I don’t think this little fight was ever meant to be that deep, rather just setting the foundations for potentially deeper angst with her being in danger during undercover ops so I really don’t want to make my thoughts needlessly profound here but I think it’s important to just be like “… yeah. that was a fight that they went through as a couple and it wasn’t pretty but it was fairly blameless and normal. it is what it is, now let’s move on and save energy for the bigger problems coming up in the season” because it’ll just weigh on me too much if I don’t let myself let it go lol

Capricorn ♑︎
Date (Only applies to Sun Signs): December 22 - January 19
Symbol: ♑︎ - The Sea Goat
Associated House: Tenth
Associated Degrees: 10°, 22°
Associated Energy: Feminine
Planetary Ruler(s): ♄ Saturn (Modern and Traditional)
Element: Earth
Modality: Cardinal
Keywords: Visionary, Ambitious, Skilled, Self-Motivated, Competitive, Reliable
This Zodiac Sign is determined, visionary and make great decisions which only allow for more progress in life - not just practically but emotionally too. Capricorn is reliable and steady, a great friend to go to when you need an honest opinion. Whilst this placement may tend to come across as biased sometimes or judgemental it's because they tend to hold high standards for themselves and the people around them. However, this doesn't mean they do this to bring others down, they do this to help aid others and give them some kind of direction in life. A Capricorn already intuitively knows who they are and their goals, often thriving in competitive subjects and can become highly skilled in multiple different topics (although this doesn't mean they are organised at all). They may like to keep their environment clean as well as their mindset, easily being able to say goodbye to toxic situations.
In fact, someone with a Capricorn placement may come across as lazy when this isn't the case. As hardworking as this sign can be, they may also procrastinate a lot and have trouble starting projects if they are not in the right mindset which can end up becoming some form of baggage. It's important for this placement to come out of their comfort zone (especially when they don't feel like it) and motivate themselves to get things done they don't want to (rather than staying in bed scrolling through social media all day. I see you.).
However, sometimes tasks may become too overwhelming for Capricorn - maybe even their emotions can become too much for them or they become really anxious over something. This can cause someone with this placement to act out of character - maybe acting out in anger or coming off as erratic (although this is only usually once triggered if they have been sitting and seething for a long time). In some cases maybe they look for ways to escape, whether that be through material things, people, ideas or work. If this problem keeps getting bigger, Capricorn may even become somewhat idealistic - relying on fantasies, emotions and possibly digital media to help them get through life which may result in them pushing others away and forming somewhat delusional or fantastical beliefs. It's at this point, Capricorn needs some kind of structure to help them come back to reality. Philosophy may help with this (or further certain unhealthy beliefs).
When Capricorn feels capable, skilled, respected and validated in an aspect of their life they may have a tendency to engage in it an unhealthy amount. This can lead them to avoiding other parts of their life (such as getting engrossed with work and forgetting to maintain friendships) or maybe put a lot of effort into an unhealthy relationship. It's important for someone of this placement to stay grounded, stable and work on projects/relationships which are healthy for them. Much like Cancer, pay attention to the amount of effort you're putting in and the rewards you receive.

Notes/Keywords/Phrases
Zodiac Sign
Each of the Zodiac Signs are a constellation. The Zodiac Sign shows how a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House is being represented and expressed. Once a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House falls into a Zodiac Sign, it adopts the energy of it.
For example: if Mercury falls into the constellation Sagittarius, Mercury adopts Sagittarian traits. If the 6th House falls into the constellation Aquarius, the 6th House adopts Aquarian traits.
Associated House
The Houses in Astrology are dependent on the time and location of birth in a Natal Chart and there are 12 different ones. Each of these 12 Houses are then assigned to a Zodiac Sign and 1 or 2 Planetary Rulers. The Houses in Astrology show you what area of life the energy of the Zodiac and Planets/Asteroids/Fixed Points is appointed to and helps provide depth into the chart.
For example: Capricorn's Associated House is the 10th House.
Associated Degrees
When a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House falls into a Zodiac Sign constellation, it will be appointed a Degree. This Degree shows how far along the Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House is in a Zodiac Sign. Each Degree is also associated with a Zodiac Sign, meaning when this Degree comes up it can nuance the way the Zodiac Sign of a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House is being represented.
For example: Mars is 6° in the Zodiac Cancer, 6° represents Virgo - therefore the Cancer Mars also takes on Virgo traits. The 2nd House is 23° in the Zodiac Scorpio, 23° represents Aquarius - therefore the 2nd House in Scorpio takes on Aquarian traits.
Planetary Ruler(s)
This phrase refers to the Planet(s) that rule a Zodiac Sign. When a Planet falls into the Zodiac Sign it has rulership over, the energy of both the Planet and the Zodiac Sign is amplified.
For example: Pisces' Planetary Ruler is Neptune.
Modern / Traditional
These words are associated with two kinds of Astrology: Modern Astrology and Traditional Astrology. Traditional Astrology refers to Astrology that was practiced before the 19th century, whilst Modern Astrology refers to Astrology that is practiced now. Some people choose to practice Traditional Astrology, some people choose to practice Modern Astrology, whilst some others might practice both types or combine them together.
Element
Each Zodiac Sign/Planet/House/Degree is associated with an Element and this covers certain traits which are unique to the Zodiac Sign/Planet/House/Degree they correspond to.
These Elements are: Fire, Air, Water and Earth.
Modality
Much like an Element, each Zodiac Sign/Planet/House/Degree is associated with a Modality. The Modality describes what the focus of a placement is and how the energy is expressed.
There are 3 different Modalities: Cardinal, Mutable and Fixed.

Unpopular opinion perhaps but idt Circe and Rex are a good couple and hear me out. This is not Circe hate I fucking love Circe. She's my girlie. I will jokingly call her Rex's goth gf but like...their dynamic is kinda not great.
Starting with Rex he is extremely codependent with people. Not in an only bad way - he just wants to solve people's problems bc that's what he's used to based on his circumstances. He's the Cure, the specialest guy in his world and everyone knows it even as he doesn't want to be. But he is so used to not just being reliable, but relying on others if he thinks he can't handle something - which isn't often bc he's 15-17 and forced into a hero complex, but it happens. He's used to Six and Holiday saving his ass and having to work with other people. He's also very people-oriented, craving deep connections and willing to open up to anyone.
And in contrast, we have Circe. She is clearly very independent, likes solving issues on her own and hates swallowing her pride, which is fine bc she's ALSO 15-17 and traumatized and manipulated by VK a lot. VK outright said she was in a terrible place when he found her and I don't doubt it, bc that's his MO, playing off of people's desperation. She was a manipulated, discriminated against and traumatized teenager who I want to make abdolutely clear I do not blame for her actions. Girlie clearly has a lot to work through.
But ultimately, I think this makes Circe and Rex a bad romantic couple. Their romantic moments read to me more like kids with no experience dating rather than a deep connection. When they fight, it's always really, really bad, and usually Rex is feeling the brunt of the argument - which again, is not a dunk on Circe. Rex has had emotional support for as long as he can remember with Holix, while it's clear while VK was around the Pack did Not get along. But it's just...shitty for him. He has to consistently be the bigger person which, if he was another character with another backstory willingly and consistently engaging with her it wouldn't be that bad. Noah, for example, could probably handle it better than Rex and be able to better communicate that hey, this isn't fair to lash out at him and that's something to work on. (Again, not a dunk on Circe - people can have negative traits that are not their fault that they still need to rectify to be fair for others. Also, it just flat-out makes her a more interesting character.)
But Rex? Rex is the hero. He's the savior, because that's all he remembers. He's the guy who has to show empathy, has to give other EVOs that aren't blatantly evil second chances, because he's used to no one else doing it. So to me, it just...makes for a bad dynamic for both of them. Rex takes too much shit from Circe bc he wants to help her, and then oversteps her boundaries with what she wants to deal with alone and upsets her more. Circe feels like she's being pitied or talked down to by Rex, and then she either lashes out or gets cold.
I think, honestly, that if they weren't traumabonded...they wouldn't even be that close. Their personalities don't mesh - they could be good friends, but surface level friends. People who talk about their interests or only hang out in friend groups, and that would be fine. But in a romantic relationship, it just...doesn't work.

My Masterlist
✨Pick a pile/picture you feel most drawn to ✨
Pile 1. Pile 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pile 3. Pile 4.
Pile 1: 6 of Wands reversed, The Empress, King of Cups reversed
For those who picked this pile, it seems like you have a quite unfair perception of yourself. You see yourself as what you are not (yet), and define your value based on your flaws. As it goes, you could have a low self-esteem, and think your mere existence could drag other down like a burden or liability. Or, you could also be an over-achiever, who set the bar unrealistically high and won't give yourself the satisfaction unless other people give it to you first. You could also identify as the wallflower or the blacksheep in your community, who could disappear and no one would notice. On the contrary, others seem to see you as someone they could rely on. They can trust you to give them emotional comfort, as well as to give them helping hand in practical matter like, taking care of them when they're blackout drunk haha. Anyhow, they see you as someone with a big heart and has a lot to give without calculation. Hater would say you're too kind, but it's their problem for not being able to handle honest affection. What I can see clearly, there is a gap between the public you and the private you. You tend to try to give to other people all the while your own cup is empty, and that couldn't be healthy in the long run. For the record, this could be due to you associate the quality of being helpful as your worth. Know that your loved one would love to be your confidant to you as you are to them. Also you could use some more of "sorry, I'm not available" and focus your energy to replenish and work on your own projects.
Pile 2: Temperance, 10 of Cups, 3 of Cups
This pile really radiates such a joyful energy 😄 To others, you embodies the bigger than life spirit, or someone who is living their dream. They would look at you and scratch their head for how you're able to pick yourself up after a bad day, seeing the positive side of every situations, and having fun even during the most uneventful period. Your good vibe is really infectious. Meanwhile, you simply see yourself who have a good inner balance. You have your own worries, fear and sadness. But you have your own support system and a strong emotional foundation to work around negativity. The most prominent mindset you possess is the idea of "having enough". You know what enough looks like to you and won't let other's definition affect your view of it. Truth is, you're someone who are just simply pleasant and fun to hang out with. You could be extrovert, saving others from the pain of breaking the ice. By nature, you're curious, open-minded and non-judgemental, you get a lot of your drive from meeting new people and having stimulating conversations. I really have nothing negative to say about this pile, so just an advice: seek out people with whom can have fun and tell silly jokes, but also can talk about serious and heartfelt matters.
Pile 3: Knights of Wands, The Chariot, Five of Swords reversed
As it seems, you see yourself as someone who is passionate, creative and goal-oriented. You know you have many great ideas as well as the courage and motivation to bring it to reality. At the same time, you're aware of your weaknesses, the most prominent one would be sticking to a long term project that you initiated. You tend to burn yourself up fast in the beginning stage, and take a lot of time and effort to regain the drive to continue later on. The people in your life can see your ambition shining through. To them, you're really resilient, focused on your work and could be really stubborn or single-minded on having your way. They feel like you're always working on something big, or heading somewhere they can't follow. I feel a quite sad energy from them, like they want to be there and help you, but they don't know how (as you don't tell them) and just fear they will just disturb you. In reality, you could have experience certain failure or betrayal in the past that changed the way you work completely. Someone could wronged you, or criticized you so harshly. On the other hand, you could be the one who cause the communication break-down among your group of people. Anyhow, this painful experience led you want to never end up in that place again, and every decisions you made, you made it avoid that mess and protect yourself and those you care for. I heard some of you could have developed the lone-wolf/stoic mentality because of it. An advice I could offer is to sometimes get out of your head and see things for the bigger picture a little bit. And that the survival mode will only serve you until a certain point, typically till you get out of the dark tunnel. Beyond that, you gotta let go of it in order to live.
Pile 4: 9 of Swords, 10 of Wands reversed, King of Wands
For people of pile 4, it seems you've been carrying a lot of stress and responsibilities on your shoulders. You're really self-aware of your negative side: you know you overthink a lot, and often be pessimistic/dramatic. On the other hand, you're afraid your appearance would reflect the inner stress and gloominess and would drag the mood of the whole room down. But guess what? You're over-complicating it again. Yes, people can tell that you're in a stressful/sensitive period, but it doesn't affect them as much as you might assume. They just know you have a lot on your plate at the moment and won't bother you with other stuff. So before you classify yourself as a burden, let me tell you no one thinks of you that way, but simply wish you would come out to the other side unharmed so you all can have fun and enjoy life again. Now, let me hype you up. You possess all the best quality to be a good leader: you have a great vision, you're committed, humble, inspirational and courageous. Before you roll your eyes and think you've never been in the leader position, know that you're at the least the master of your own life. You have been working the hardest to become best version of yourself. Whatever the dream or goal you have in mind, know that you have what it take to get yourself there. Don't lose your heart, look at your journey for how far you have come, instead how far you still have to go yet.

Hello i am the anon from earlier, thank you for the troubel you gone through to help me. So there are four things structure wise that i strugel with.
The first one is an issue of paceing. The first five chapters of my book are fast paced but after that there is a rapid slow and i am afraid its not going to work. Its not unintentional on my part, the pov character is rushing to find something and he is forced to slow down and i want the redear to feel how he feels but i am afraid I am playing it too harsh. Do you know any way i could make this more enjoyabel? Come to think of it chapter six is the turning point of the plot in two otherways and i am having troubel with all of it.
Secondly its also a turn in how the story is structured. Before that, there is some emotional and character relation focused moments but mainly just to explain why the pov acts the way he does and then the description of said foolish actions, in short the plot is action driven. But after that he is forced to sit and examine his actions (and draw the incorrect conclusion why he did it, naturaly) and get to know the people he found himself souronded with and convince them to help him and his two friends instead of doing their own thing. The plot focus gets shifted onto character relations both internal in the POV figuring himself out as the story goes on and the two to each other completely unknown factions getting to know eachother both at cultural level and concrete characters developing bonds. I have plot points figured out but i can't make the shift work, and i can't string it together afterwards. Action and external conflict fueled plots are a lot easier to find resources for.
The tird probleme piece is the second PoV character, who is the other MC and is the leader of the other, and bigger factiona. Her PoV is esential for all this to work out. Her first chapter is the sixst one. She is deifeid in story and it makes her rather detached from everyone. she has troubel understanding and expresing herself because of it. As the story goes on and the two MCs get to know eachother she becomes a lot less criptic and distant and a lot more human. I had the idea that as this happens i would give her more and more POV chapters until its even and we are switching back and forth between her and the the male MC. This seemed like a good idea but i am having a hard time implementing it. Is it even viabel or should i just kill my darling and give her as much PoV chapters as i need her to have. Do you know a way i could balance these two ideas.
The fourth issue is chapter six itself. Because for all the weight it's pulling it's anemic. Its the female MC discussing with her advisors what to do with the strangers, how to treat them how to help them, the second half is just her having an existential crisis and the reader getting a peak at what her internal world is like, and how she thinks so they understand why she acts the way she does later. Problem with this is that the most obvious tension and hook for the male MCs next chapter is him getting to know what is going to happen to them. I either pull the readers leg and dont give them a solid answer in the entirity of chapter six or i slaughter the tension and start to build it up again. Worse thing is, the answer itself is pretty inconclusive, female MC wants to wait and see what kind of people she is dealing with befor burning time and resources on helping their goal but its clear to him that she is not heartless enough to kick them to the curb with no help to survive. So not a lot of risk either. It absolutely doesn't have enough meat on its bones to be cut up in two. I need the argument with the advisors to introduce them because they are important characters and its the best way to introduce them, but it seems like this is just doing more harm than good. What should i do with this?
Sorry this got so long, and sorry if its hard to understand, english is not my first language. I hope its not to much. Thank you for the time you spent reading it and thank you for any answer you give in advance.
Hope you have a great day :)
The first five chapters of my book are fast paced but after that there is a rapid slow. Do you know any way i could make this more enjoyable?
An important thing to remember about pacing is that you can use faster, more frantic episodes, and slower, more contemplative episodes to contrast one another, and heighten the impact of each.
If a whole book is just endless frantic rushing from one thing to the next, it gets tiring—not just for the characters, but for the readers—you often benefit from some ‘down time’ to let everyone regroup and recover, and prepare for the next action sequence.
Ways to emphasise this may be to show your characters who have been doing a lot of rushing and action, now in recovery phase: do they have wounds that need tending to, do they need to have a few solid meals to rebuild themselves, do they need to sleep for twelve hours solid, and so on.
As well, your protagonist’s mental stamina may well be flagging at this point, if he hasn’t had any opportunity to sit and rest and think about what is happening, he may be running on fumes, and simply doing whatever seems to need doing next out of sheer exhaustion (you mention that he’s been making some poor decisions, and if he’s been stuck in high action mode for five chapters without a break, a part of that might be just exhaustion!)
Have you ever gotten home after a big day, thinking ‘ok, now that’s done, I will go and do those chores I’ve been putting off…’ and then you sit down and zone out entirely until suddenly it’s dark and you’re hungry and when did you even fall asleep??—well imagine that process happening while you’re also trying to negotiate an alliance with a bigger faction than yours.
I think that you have the elements here for your ‘down time’ and ‘slow chapters’ to be fine and good additions to your story—but here’s the thing:
You have to stop thinking of quiet and slow parts of stories as ‘boring’ or ‘nothing happening’
It might help you to re-consider about what you’re writing in the quiet scenes, and think of the human relationships and interpersonal conflicts as though they were action scenes. When you think about a conversation, imagine the dynamic of a fight scene, these people are using words instead of fists, but they’re functionally doing the same thing. It is possible to write conversations that are just as engaging as any action scene.
Also, it’s probably a good time to mention, because I think that this is sometimes an issue that writers have when thinking about their own works: the reader wants to get invested in your characters. The reader will probably enjoy all the high action and drama, but they want to get to know your characters, and how they think and why they do the things they do, so that when all that action is happening, they have someone to be cheering for (or commiserating with!)
Quiet, introspective, and character driven scenes aren’t boring because they aren’t action scenes, in fact it is arguable that these are the scenes that make action scenes have any relevance at all! Why should I care that the guys in the giant mechas are beating each other up, if I don’t know them?
Problems two and three: I will combine them
Now, I may be wrong, so feel free to ignore this if it isn’t helpful to you, but it seems to me that the ‘problems’ you have here are actually just the structure of the story showing in a way that you weren’t expecting.
From what you’ve described, I understand that the first POV character’s character arc is one where he goes from being someone who is very high in action and low in introspection, to having to do more introspection in order to grow and develop as a person and a leader.
The second POV character’s arc sounds like she’s going from being someone who is extremely introspective and withdrawn to the point of almost inaction, (aside from intellectualised action, like discussing things with advisors and issuing orders), who’s so internalised that she has trouble even communicating with people outside of her own head, and who has to learn to be more spontaneous and take action.
Essentially, it seems to me that these two characters are travelling in opposite directions, to meet somewhere in the middle, where each of them gains a little of the other’s strengths.
In this light, what you’ve descibed sounds like it makes perfect sense to me structurally:
->We start with six action-heavy chapters where the protagonist’s lack of introspection leads to foolish mistakes.
->We meet a new POV chaacter who is withdrawn, separated from her people, and has a lot of weight resting on her shoulders.
->Over time, as they interact, and over the course of the story, each one starts to learn from the other (I’m assuming here that they’ll be spending a decent amount of time interacting), and at the end each of them has been able to take on some of the other’s positive traits in ways that help them with the problems they were having earlier.
Now, leaving it six chapters to introduce your second POV character may or may not be too long, but it depends entirely on how long the book is and what kind of story it is. If it’s a big fat fantasy or scifi brick, then six chapters is nothing! If it’s a pacy little 80k contemporary novel, then six chapters might be pushing it, but you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do.
I think that your idea of having the female MC’s chapters be sporadic at first and then become more frequent as the book progresses can be a very effective way of showing the development of both characters. You haven’t mentioned whether you’ve outlined your story in any detail, so if you haven’t, I would suggest doing a proper outline so that you can see exactly what information needs to be included where, and you can organise your chapters so that eveything flows toward the outcome you want.
Issue the fourth: Chapter six is anaemic
I have to ask, but is it really? Or is it just that you’re overly familiar with this chapter, and you’re comparing it unfavourably to the more action packed chapters?
You’ve got a lot going on here, meetings with advisors, a big decision regarding the smaller faction, the female MC’s internal conflict, etc. there’s a lot going on here, and you can slow down and take your time with it, as I said earlier, it might be helpful for you to think of, for example, the discussion with the advisors as an action sequence.
There are a number of people around a table, each of them has their own agenda, each of them has their own secrets, and personal desires, as well as various conflicts and relationships with the other people at that table. They have to engage in conversation to try and get as much of their own agenda fulfilled, while trying to sabotage their rivals and enemies goals. All of this through words. Of course, there might be some physical intimidation, or raised voices, etc, but the main arena is the arena of ideas.
Now, as to the conundrum with whether or not the reader, and/ or the male MC should find out about what the female MC’s decided to do, it isn’t at all unreasonable to let that question go unanswered in the sixth chapter. As I said in the paragraph above, there’s going to be all kinds of undercurrents and political interplay among the advisors, and it would be totally understandable for the female MC to leave the meeting with ‘I’m going to think about it, I’ll let you all know my decision tomorrow,” or whatever she would say—especially if her actual decision is something like “I need to wait and see what they’re like before I make a decision”. In her position, keeping her decision to herself until she knows for sure who and what she's dealing with is smart, and it's a power move. Everyone else is waiting on her decision!
And following from that, I would gently suggest that the strongest tension in the following chapter comes not from the male MC getting a solid answer, but from him having to sit with not having an answer yet. This would be another chance for him to practice introspection, or alternatively, for him to do something impulsive and foolish, which provides another example to him of why a little more intospection might be helpful for him.
Don’t feel like you need to provide answers for everything right away, you can let the reader sit with the tension, and even explore possibilities before locking things down.
You’ve said that it’s “clear to him that she is not heartless enough to kick them to the curb with no help to survive” but that’s a total gamble! It is extremely reckless to base his, and his faction’s success or survival on the belief that the leader of another faction is soft hearted enough to help them, without a clear way that this would be helpful for the bigger faction!
To say again: I don’t think you realise quite how much there is going on in Chapter Six!!
You have descibed a lot of complicated moving parts, here, and I think that mapping out the politics and the interpersonal conflicts among this cast of characters (advisors, faction members, etc) so that you can draw upon and refer to that web of interactions is going to help bring this chapter to life for you.
Some reading suggestions:
I think it would be worthwhile for you to try reading some fiction that has a combination of high and low action sequences, where each is as heavily weighted with importance and plot relevance as the other. Some of these are more difficult reads than others, and I know you’ve said that English is your second language, but you seem to write pretty well, so I think you should be able to handle these.
To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers
This is a scifi novella about exploring alien planets, where most of the action is very peaceful, rather than conflict-based, but it is pretty exciting, wandering through vast cosmic distances, and going to hugely diverse alien worlds. It is also a profoundly quiet, and introspective novella about human nature and the passage of time.
Dune by Frank Herbert
This is a scifi classic for a reason! This book has plenty of fights and action sequences, but it is also a book which very literally turns internal thoughts and conversations into action sequences. The human conflicts are also placed against a backdrop of ecological writing which contextualises all of the action.
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
Another classic, this one doesn’t make use of a whole lot of internal thoughts, but it does do a lot of landscape mood setting. Vast stetches of descriptions of fields and trees and forests, interrupted now and then by a life-and-death flight from a wraith. Once you get into the right frame of mind, the rhythm of the descriptions and the action really bring the ‘epic’ into Epic Fantasy
A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine
This is a Space Opera which has its fair share of assasination attempts, and chases, but the most part of the book is concerned with linguistics, and politics, and that does not make it any less tense to read.
In summary:
I understand that you’re not feeling confident about your story, and the decisions you’ve made about it. But to me it sounds like you’ve got some perfectly good ideas, and you’re just a bit uncertain about how to execute them. That’s ok!
The thing is, that if you write a first draft, and the stuff that you’re trying to do doesn’t work out, nothing bad happens! I promise!
In fact, something great happens: You then have a whole first draft to start fixing!
It can be difficult, when you’re only partway through a story, to see how what you’ve written is going to fit in with the rest of the story. What you have right now feels huge! It’s everything of the book that exists so far! It really overpowers the rest of the book (which hasn’t been written yet)
Of course it does. But when you’ve written the rest of the book and the stuff you have so far is put into context, everything will feel a lot more balanced. And if it doesn’t? That’s what editing is for!
Make sure that you’ve got a decent working outline to refer back to, and just write the story!
You can do it!

#A2: Do it Yourself!!
youtube
Summary:
This series takes place after the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Serufu and her childhood friend Miku/“Purin” both applied to an elite school, where advanced technologies are incorporated into the curriculum. The tech-savvy Purin is accepted into the school, but accident-prone Serufu is rejected and enters a traditional school instead, driving a wedge into their friendship.
On her way to class one day, Serufu encounters Rei, who has a passion for old-fashioned crafts and is the head of the school’s Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Club—which is in danger of closing due to a lack of members. Realizing that this may be her chance to repair her relationship with Purin, Serufu joins the club in hopes of creating projects that could bring them together once more.
Propaganda:
It’s just a really feel-good series with some great characters. I adore all of them and their dynamics with each other, especially the main dynamic between Serufu and Purin as it develops. I’m a really big fan of the show’s angle on stuff such as do-it-yourself crafts following another industrial revolution, just because it does frequently bring up the question of “What’s the point of DIY if in a year or two/maybe even now a robot could recreate the exact same result?” through characters like Purin (who is the major character with the lowest opinion on these kinds of crafts at the start, since she’s in the technologically advanced school and has beliefs more in line with the efficacy of technology rather than the joy of human creation), with the short answer largely being because it’s just fun!
I first watched this show before I saw a lot of AI stuff intruding upon art and rewatching it after sure was fun, because I love its ideas on the worth of doing stuff that machinery could do much faster. It’s not super complex or emotional, but that largely goes in its favor, because it really doesn’t need to be those. It’s just a fun little anime about a bunch of girls having fun together through one shared hobby that some of them had from the start and some of them adopted. I also love the opening, and the ending is a massive comfort song for me. The series can also be very funny at points, and is usually super heartwarming.
Trigger Warnings: None.

#A3: RIN-NE (Kyoukai no Rinne)
youtube
Summary:
Rinne Rokudou has bigger problems than going to school—namely, helping spirits pass over to the next life. Because of this responsibility, he often finds himself short on money and struggles to buy his necessities: food, clothes, and exorcism tools.
Sakura Mamiya has been able to see ghosts since she was little. She hoped she would outgrow it, but even after starting high school, nothing has changed. To make matters worse, the first time her ever-absent classmate, Rinne, shows up for school, only Sakura can see him. She assumes, as anyone would, that he is a ghost. However, to Sakura's surprise, Rinne proceeds to attend school like normal the next day.
Propaganda:
This is one of Rumiko Takahashi’s underrated works (mostly getting overshadowed by Inuyasha due to her releasing this series after the fact), and I don’t see a lot of people talk about it often. While it’s not my favorite of her works, it’s one that I still like because of the way she portrays the characters. Plus, it still has that classic Rumic comedy and feel to it and I really love the animation with her artstyle. Anyways, if you like supernatural comedies (with a hint of romance) then vote for Rin-ne!
Trigger Warnings: None.

i'm Thinking Again and i really think SNW needs to Do Something Different with spock's character arc instead of just trying to retread old ground.
we already know spock has a hard time dealing with his mixed-race identity and how he tries to be As Logically Vulcan As Possible even though other vulcans see him as inherently less logical because of his human heritage. and being ashamed of himself for his own humanity and emotional responses and such. we've already seen him slowly work through that in TOS and the movies and that he eventually does come to a place where he's comfortable with who he is and comfortable acting emotionally as well as logically.
the tension between emotion and logic is a key part of what makes spock as a character so compelling so i get that part of it is always gonna be there. but the way SNW does it is so reductive and surface level that it's just boring. first of all, its so stupid to tie a deeply complex personal issue like that to a love triangle. it feels like its just "do i need to be more like a human (for christine) or more like a vulcan (for t'pring)" and the whole thing is approached in a really bioessentialist way. treating the vulcan logic thing as an irrefutable result of their biology rather than a learned cultural practice. there's also no real tension to it?? because we already know that it takes YEARS for spock to resolve his inner conflict (and that he doesn't end up with either of the people in the love triangle lol). so it just feels like build up that never goes anywhere.
it's interesting to me that this seems to be a uniquely SNW problem, because AOS and Discovery both did something different with spock's character within the context of his long term identity issues.
AOS takes place in an alternate timeline, so it's literally Not The Same Spock and there's aspects of his character that are completely different. the flashback scenes in star trek 2009 definitely seem to follow the same arc as TOS spock, but there's Way More than that going on. i mean, in AOS, vulcan gets destroyed and spock ends up watching his mother fucking die. that's an extra layer of trauma right there and it's arguably a bigger part of his character than his identity issues. and another big difference is that AOS spock is dating uhura and was initially super hostile towards kirk, so that kinda shakes up the dynamics between him and the rest of the crew a little. old TOS spock also encourages AOS spock to consider looking beyond logic and going by what he feels, so AOS spock seems a bit more at ease with that part of himself.
when AOS did go into the logic/emotion/identity plotline, it was usually done through the idea of duty and divided loyalties. the big one that comes to mind is in star trek beyond. logically, it seems best for him to drop out of starfleet and help work to rebuild vulcan culture instead, but emotionally he wants to stay where he is. there's also the intro scene in into darkness where he's insisting that the others leave him to die (based on his sense of duty to starfleet regulations) while internally being terrified of y'know. dying in a fuckin volcano. and how that whole mindset kinda flips when kirk dies and spock has a complete breakdown, despite knowing that what kirk did was logically the best choice for the sake of the ship. basically being caught between his professional/cultural duty and his friendship for the enterprise crew.
discovery is a bit different, because now we're getting the same spock as TOS, but younger. what's interesting to me about this iteration of trek is that the conflict between logic and emotion is playing out around spock through his family. when we first see disco spock, he's completely incoherent and delusional after mind melding with the red angel and getting his brain fried by the experience of nonlinear time. you know, shit that happens in star trek. as his condition gets worse and worse, amanda and sarek have opposing ideas about how to help him, with amanda having the more emotion-based approach and sarek having the logical approach. in the end, neither of them are right and it's michael, who is also kinda caught between human and vulcan cultures, who is able to help spock.
aside from his complicated family situation, discovery shows spock wrestling with his identity from a totally different angle. he's furious with himself because he can't make sense of the red angel situation logically or emotionally. basically, he feels like he's failed BOTH parts of his heritage, which is different from TOS, where he was mostly just trying to be the ideal vulcan and looking disdainfully at his humanity. michael points this out when the two of them are fighting and spock yells back "RIGHT NOW I FEEL THAT FAILURE IS LIBERATING!" which is a really fucking interesting statement that i never see people bringing up. in a way, it's like spock feels that failure has given him permission to reject human/vulcan cultural expectations and live more in the in-between spaces, even if it takes him a long time to fully embrace that.
the other big thing from discovery is that it adds new things that enhance spock's arc from TOS. for instance, spock's dyslexia adds a whole other layer to his ongoing identity issues. not only is he an outcast for being half human, but he's also got a learning disability in a society that values academic achievement so highly. there's also michael's final bit of advice and how TOS shows that spock really took it to heart. so like, disco shows spock moving towards who he will eventually become in TOS, even if he's not quite there yet. i guess you could argue that SNW spock's relationships with christine and t'pring are doing something similar in terms of adding to TOS canon? but imo in that case its more like, underscoring things that were already present in TOS instead of really trying something new. and none of it really moves spock towards where he is in TOS. so spock in SNW feels almost like a regression rather than building off what happened to him in discovery and moving forward.
ANYWAY ive gone on for way too fuckin long so what im trying to say is there are clearly ways to work within spock's ongoing character arc without just doing the same thing as TOS. and since SNW isn't trying new things, its portrayal of spock really falls flat.

Y'know what, we deserve to have an actually GOOD grown-up Christopher Robin movie, not one where he inexplicably thinks reading bank statements or whatever to his child counts as a bedtime story (no seriously, if he's always been like that, why is the kid surprised? if his kid clearly doesn't like it, why does he keep doing it? I get they're trying to show us he's out of touch with imagination and childhood, but that's like. a stupid way to do). I want a movie where he retains some gosh dang childlike wonder, and continues to play games with his kids and any other little cousins/nieces/nephews, and the way it connects to his adult life is all his coworkers are people that are struggling with various problems, but they also remind him of his dearest friends. Sometimes by playing games with the kids and getting "advice" from the stuffed animals helps him figure out what to do (it's really just him voicing his own thoughts to come up with ideas, but when we see the play time happening, it looks like all the animal characters are alive with their own voices and such, with the kids also playing along)
There's a mother who feels stressed-out and her child who struggles being older than other kids in their class (they got held-back at some point) but bigger kids pick on them when they try to fit in (this is Kanga and Roo). Christopher Robin helps organize an after-school program where multiple kids can do activities together and the mom can finally change her schedule and hours (she had to work extra to afford expensive childcare, but then she never saw her kid. it was an endless cycle; she had to work, her kid had to be looked-after, but the more she worked, the more she had to pay for childcare. the new program is more reasonable).
There's a guy who always tries to be helpful at work, but because he mostly does janitorial work, the bosses think he's not "important" and keep cutting his hours, and Christopher Robin finds out he's actually living out of his car because he can't afford to live anywhere. Even if he had full-time, it still wouldn't be enough. Christopher finds him a second job at a game center, where he can stretch his creative side, being the DJ for a roller-rink, announcer for contests, and help with tickets/prizes for video games. The owner of the center rents part of his home to the guy at a decent price, so he has his own bed room/living room/kitchen/bathroom and a section of yard all to himself (this is Tigger).
So on like that; somebody who is consumed by tedious business, but wants to have more time to garden (this is Rabbit), somebody who feels like nobody likes them for being such a "downer" but they're actually a comforting person in a calm and quiet way (this is Eeyore), somebody who has had painful experiences that make them overly timid but rather than force themselves into the same situations again- they find ways to share advice on safety which makes them more confident in life (this is Piglet), a man who never finished college and feels like a failure but over-compensates with elaborate stories that eventually finds an outlet as a writer (this is Owl), an older man who lost his family and now finds himself grandfather-aged with no grandchildren... but he is shown he can volunteer at the after-school program, take kids on field-trips to the game center (where the Tigger guy works), or out on nature walks (with the Piglet person as a safety guide), talk through their problems (with the Eeyore person), try creative writing (with the Owl person), and grow things in the community garden (with the Rabbit person). This is Winnie the Pooh
At the end of it all, Christopher Robin is sort of the "side character" in all their lives, he was very helpful and they all appreciate him, but the big emotional moments and struggles still centered on the other people. Christopher Robin didn't have any especially tricky problems of his own, he just popped up to speak with them occasionally and offer some support~

Obstacle Course
This is a post about my brain. That's what you were here for, wasn't it? Well, whether or not it was, that's what I'm here for ultimately, so that's what you get.
Dude, sometimes my brain feels like a fuckin' obstacle course. I was sort-of parsing through how I might describe to someone the way that my brain works - or rather, I was actually parsing through how I might describe how my sleep works, and that's intimately connected with how my brain works. Always has been, always has been.
You see, different parts of my brain are active or "on" at different times of the day. And if I were to utilize the whole spread of those parts of my brain, I would only sleep from 3AM-6AM. This is part of why, you see, I had some terrible sleep problems for years - I was down to about four hours a night and dwindling, probably bottoming out on that 3hr stretch. I had to go to therapy to learn to sleep, and it was a whole thing.
More and more I find that a lot of organizational work has to happen in the morning - anything to do with planning, sequencing, deciding, etc. If I wait too long - usually somewhere in the 12PM-2PM range, but it can kick in as early as 11AM - a lot of the self-conscious, self-watching parts of my brain come online and actively prevent that organizational part of my brain. Or rather, it's there the whole time; but my brain has the right resources it needs to fend those things off earlier in the morning.
Afternoons are good for grinding. If I've already gotten a good headstart on a project in the morning - its sequence and scope laid out, all the problem-solving around any rough edges already done, etc - afternoon is when I have the energy and can just go and go and go. If I haven't already started working, good luck - what takes me 15min in the morning takes me more like 2 hours by afternoon, which seems extreme but is the regrettable state of things up there.
Evenings are good for relaxing. My brain is not good at relaxing, so this is important - a time when it can rest, and relax, and wander and play a bit rather than churn and chug away. It's the breathing room that keeps everything else happy.
Then, come about midnight - particularly once all the lights are out and everyone has gone to bed - two things happen. One is that the reflective, emotional part of my brain comes online. This is the part that is processing my place in the world and is in touch with how I'm feeling and what I'm doing and why; and is when it's closest to the surface for me to gently work with and witness. This is hugely important for my ability to operate the rest of the time - if I don't do this, everything during the day gets clogged up with lots of messy emotions and blocks.
The other part is that there are a lot of inhibitions that drop - the much more focused, planning-oriented part of my brain - goes to sleep; which means that creativity gets free rein. I do my best creative work in the deep night like this, and when I don't get that time, what I come up with for work tends to be a lot more trite and semi-recycled. So that's important too.
...So therein lies the problem. All of these things are important: if I don't get them all, all the other parts suffer. But if I get them all, I get a handful of hours of sleep a night. Like I said, I did this for about seven years - it started at six hours of sleep a night and slowly dwindled from there. I used to hallucinate semi-regularly from the sleep deprivation, in all kinds of fun ways. My favorite was the time that I was driving and suddenly everything flattened out; and instead of becoming closer, things got bigger instead. I was very lucky that I was driving a route I'd driven a million times, because I can't imagine trying to drive under those conditions on a completely unfamiliar road. Got there safe, and it was an interesting experience; but yeah, no thanks.
Like I said, I eventually went - well, got sent - to therapy to fix the problem. There were a few environmental things to help the process along - switching from a white overhead lamp to a yellow side-shaded lamp to mimic sunset, things like that - and the other semi-helpful thing was finding something that was (a) intellectually demanding, and (b) boring. For me, that was math. When it was time for bed, I used to have take a math textbook and a notebook and lay in bed doing math in bed for an hour-plus or however long it took to get sleepy. Can you imagine?
What actually ended up helping were two things. One, melatonin. I'm not a huge fan of drugs for solutions to this kind of problem; but this is one I found actually worked. It didn't take a lot - just a few mg, wait half an hour, and then the magic happened. I would get sleepy. It didn't make me pass out, it didn't make me stupid - but it made me feel like I had a choice. I could choose to go to bed, when my brain wouldn't let me otherwise. It took a few rounds of that to sort-of teach my brain how to wind down and prepare for sleep, and for the most part i haven't needed it since - I just needed those training wheels.
The other thing that helped was having someone I wanted to go cuddle in bed with. That was motivation to actually go to bed when the time came.
I like my sleep nowadays. Sometimes I sleep too much. I'm still ridiculously stupid-functional on no sleep, and probably always will be - that feels like something that was just broken into me over the course of those seven years.
...Of course, I feel like my brain doesn't work nearly as well as it did those years ago. Some of that is the Brain Damage, but some of it is that I don't get access to all those parts of my brain regularly. I'm figuring it out, slowly - figuring out how to wrangle The Obstacle Course and all the ridiculous trappings that come along with it. But that's how it works up there, and that's how sleep is so intrinsically tied to it, and that's why I'm going to have to battle sleep problems for the rest of my life.
Because you see: the reason I didn't want to sleep is because there were Things To Do. Stories and poems to write, things to learn, crafts to work on, planning to do, projects to work on... all of which were infinitely more interesting than sleeping. Why waste that time when you could do things?
(I am haunted by this to this day. I will always be haunted by this. Y'all know where Xitli comes from, right?)
So that's the obstacle course. And that's just one part of it. I've talked before about all the other things I've had to learn how to make my brain work - making sure I'm engaging in enough new processes and information and experiences and other "input", fucking with tiny variations in the lighting and where I'm sitting and what I'm listening to, all kinds of conscious run-downs on bodily needs, picking a particular scent to waft through the room on a given day... It goes on and on and on, and I swear it's nevereneding.
So that's me. Welcome to my brain. Guess what time it is now? You got it! 1AM! Tracks, no?

DannyMay Day 8
Day 8: Electric Core AU [ao3]
Summary: How Vlad learns about Danny having an electric core.
———————————————————————————————————–
After the portal incident, and half death, Danny always seemed to have some form of static electricity. He’d taken to trying to ground himself as often as possible, even trying to conceal an anti-static band around his ankle for day to day interactions.
It worked on his human form, for the most part. Save for his could never get his hair to not fluff up when he was getting emotional, he stopped shocking people like he were an electric eel.
It wasn’t a problem in his Ghost form. His suit was rubber.
The trio figured since he died in the portal, it made his cells act like conductors or something? And other than the occasional zap, it didn’t seem to interfere with his day to day life anymore than just suddenly being a half ghost had. It even gave him an advantage against Technus from time to time.
The other thing which Danny had started calling his ghost sense, was when a ghost was around, he would feel them through air currents. Like how the hairs on the back of your neck raised before a lightning strike. That’s how he felt when a ghost entered his haunt. That too became normal enough to joke about how if Danny were in a Lightning storm, he’d be like his parents and blame a ghost before actual lightning. That got Tucker zapped.
Not thinking much of it, Danny made a mistake with it. He was frustrated, and while charging his ectoblast, a spark joined in, and when Vlad was hit with the blast, he fell from the sky.
“Fuck-” Danny didn’t like the fruitloop, but that didn’t mean he wanted him to be a pancake. Catching Vlad and making them go intangible so they didn’t hit the ground with the full force of the fall. Danny got Vlad to the ground safely and set him down, not gently, but close enough.
The man had shifted to being human, and groaned.
“Good, didn’t kill ya all the way.”
“What did you do? When did you gain such a skill?” Vlad sat up, limbs shaking slightly.
“Oh, um, just sort of, you ever do that thing with your socks on the carpet, then touch someone?”
“I was young once. Of course I did.”
“Well, it’s like that. But more inside me rather then socks on carpet? And bigger?”
“Oh. That’s- Why Daniel, you’ve probably got an electric core. Were you aware?”
“Th’ fuck’s a core?”
“That would be a no then. We’ll need to check some things to make sure, but-”
“There is no ‘We’ I’m not going to-”
“So you wish to share what being electrocuted felt like with your loved ones? You enjoyed it so much?”
Danny growled, Vlad was skirting very close to something he shouldn’t have been. “Keep talking. But watch it.”
“As I was, we’ll need to run some tests to see the extent of it. Most aren’t very dangerous, but you’re powerful, so it’s a cause for concern. Especially if you haven’t been expelling it. For example with myself.” Vlad created a fireball. “I have a fire core. If I don’t let loose from time to time, things will randomly start to combust around me. I can last a few weeks before that happens now, but at the start of my developing powers, it was daily. You might have a shorter or longer period of time.”
“So you want to take me to your lab and what-?”
“Not my lab. I’m certain you are aware of doctors in the zone? Many specialize in this sort of thing and would be far more informed than myself.”
“Oh. I guess that doesn’t sound too bad. I guess lead the way?”
Vlad summoned his rings, and they flickered just slightly before transforming him. “Shall we take your portal?”
So Danny led the way.

Garu's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment

Introverted ISTJ types process the world internally. They tend to feel drained after social events and need time alone to recharge. Highly pragmatic, they tend to focus more on the details, rather than the bigger picture. They make decisions based on what they see and know right now. Logisticians prioritize logical thinking and are more concerned with facts than emotion. They believe the truth is more important than people’s feelings. They are very structured and organized, preferring to plan ahead and follow rules and processes. They are disciplined and have a strong work ethic.
Big Three: Scorpio Sun, Capricorn Moon and Virgo Rising
Scorpio Sun: Ruled by Mars and Pluto, the Scorpio Sun is known to be intense, mysterious, and ever-evolving.

Basic Fear: One-wing-nine personality types have a basic fear of being unethical and corrupt. They avoid making morally wrong choices and can be objective and emotionally reserved.
Basic Desire: They have a basic desire to be morally good. They advocate for rights of others through teaching and discussion.
Optimists tend to respond to negativity by either redirecting their emotions or by avoiding them entirely. They may push themselves deeper into their work, their type one defense mechanism, or they may withdraw from it altogether, their type nine defense mechanism.
Moral Alignment: True Neutral [The Balanced]
These characters believe in balance and avoid taking sides. They don’t take moral or ethical stances, but assess situations pragmatically.
Ching's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment

INFPs value time alone or with very small groups and can often feel exhausted after spending time with large groups of people.
They tend to focus on the big picture and don’t get lost on the smaller details. They have strong intuitions and often follow their gut instincts.
Mediators tend to prioritize emotion and make decisions that feel right. They are very diplomatic and can easily understand others' emotions.
They are very flexible in their schedules. INFPs like to keep their options open and tend to be more spontaneous.
Big Three: Virgo Sun, Taurus Moon and Libra Rising
Virgo Sun: Governed by communication planet Mercury, Virgos are the thinkers of the zodiac. Virgos process information with diligence and use facts to solve problems.
Taurus Moon: The Moon loves to be in the zodiac sign Taurus. Those with Moon in Taurus delight in the earthly pleasures and seek out emotional security.
Libra Rising: Finding balance in life is essential for Libra risings, who prefer things to be even-keeled and civil.
Enneagram Type: 9w1 [The Negotiator]
Basic Fear: Nines with a one wing are afraid of being separated from the rest of the world and losing what matters to them.
Basic Desire: They desire peace, both internally and externally. Their type one wing encourages them to make their idealized, peaceful world a reality.
Negotiators defend themselves by participating heavily in routine to distract themselves and avoid negative emotions.
Moral Alignment: Neutral Good [The Benevolent]
These characters seek to do good, but are flexible in how they achieve it, valuing both order and freedom.

putting these Slugpup Hungry Games hcs here bc I don't feel like making a new sideblog right now
me and my friend have been obsessed with it the past few days so here's some stuff we came up with. note: the pronouns are not literal, Slugcats don't speak English (slugsign W), they're just how we refer to them (also I have separate headcanons for how Slugcat gender and social roles work but I don't know if any of the Hungry kids ever learned any of that stuff so it's not super relevant)
... also we don't know GladosCat's real Iterator name so we've just been calling her Ambition or Wire Mother interchangeably
anyway. these are for you @peculiurperennial
General
The pups are listed in order of age. Therefore, Bingus is the eldest, while Onion, despite being larger than the others, is the baby of the group.
How much a Slugcat remembers past cycles is determined by age and species, and increases as their brains develop. However, there are exceptions to this pattern, like Fleece.
They were not born of the same litter, although it is possible that they were all raised in the same tribe; either way, none of them (except Onion) remember who they were before being captured, and in the end, it doesn't change that they are siblings now.
They cannot directly speak to each other, nor do they know Slugsign, so their means of communication are very limited. Still, they definitely understand each other better than other pups would, simply because they're so familiar and have had to learn to cooperate in dangerous situations. Bingus and Fleece are the most in-tune with each other's thoughts.
Onion already had a bit of the Rotund gene in her ancestry before modification, which is why she's so much bigger; Rotund Slugcats are very close to standard Terrestrials, and are not considered a separate species by Terrestrial society. That being said, all Slugcats - excluding Purposed Organisms - have enough genetic similarity to produce healthy pups with Terrestrials, so it's not impossible for Bingus and Fleece to also have Carnivore and Aquatic ancestors, just... Unlikely, especially in Fleece's case, as Aquatics are not native to this region.
Subject A-23334, Carnivore type - Bingus
They/Them, "the Prodigy"
Second-clearest memory of past tests and cycles.
The smartest and strongest of the siblings, at least in most ways relevant to testing.
Does not enjoy violence, preferring to solve problems as puzzles rather than fights, but will do what is necessary to help their siblings get through the tests. They're not afraid to take a hit if it means the others are spared.
Considers themself a sort of leader, whether or not this is acknowledged by the others, but it's not a source of pride or self-importance; it is instead a great responsibility, a burden, that feels so heavy it nearly crushes them. They know they are Wire Mother's favorite, and they'll do everything in their power to keep her focused on them rather than the other pups, even if that means they will be left out of escape plans. This facility creates Purposed Organisms, and, under the Iterator's watchful eye, Bingus has lost every part of themself that is not part of this sense of purpose.
Subject B-6587, Aquatic type - Fleece
They/Them, "the Opportunist"
Can remember past testing cycles almost perfectly, but has gaps in their memory.
The quickest and most practical of the siblings, avoiding unnecessary risk whenever possible.
Often acts cold or distant, as if they don't care as much about the others, but really, they keep that emotional distance as a means of protecting themself. They are afraid that if they break down and Wire Mother finds out, she'll do something to "fix" their memory.
Feels deeply isolated from their siblings, except for Bingus, as they both know more than they should. Even then, though, they don't have a clear method of talking about it, and Wire Mother doesn't give them much privacy, anyway, so Fleece can never drop the act for long. Over time, this loneliness has grown into resentment, though they won't let it show to anyone but Bingus, as the misplaced "source" of this anger.
Subject C-6287, Terrestrial type - Jib
He/Him, "the Paragon"
Doesn't remember much, but has held onto enough information to know how bleak the situation is, and retains more of the emotions from past cycles than actual facts.
The kindest and bravest of the siblings, but unfortunately, naïvete has no place in the testing chamber except as a bloody example of failure.
... Isn't actually anywhere near as naïve as Wire Mother thinks he is. He knows he's not the strongest or the fastest, and he's very easy to kill. But he does have one thing the others don't: pure stubbornness. Anyone here seen Everything Everywhere All At Once? He's like Waymond. You know what I'm talking about. "When I choose to see the good side of things, I'm not being naïve. It's strategic and necessary. It's how I've learned to survive through everything." If these kids do get to escape down the line, I hope it's Jib who leads them through it.
This bit isn't as serious, but he reminds me of a shonen protagonist. That's all
Subject D-42346, Rotund type - Onion
She/Her, "the Avenger"
Has little to no memory of past cycles, but does remember her life before capture.
I don't have nearly as much to say about this one, mainly because I'm still trying to figure her out. But I do think it'd be cool if, while Jib represents the things Wire Mother can't control or beat out of him, Onion is more... Well, technically a great success, but maybe too great. She's hard to kill. Eventually, her creator is going to regret that.
kind of ran out of steam at the end there but I'll follow this up in a little while with more details (in the form of Discord screenshots)

The Nature of Saturn ♄ in Astrology - LittleMoon's Rambles and Top Tips for Saturn in Cancer
Tumblr media
I feel like a lot of opinions on Saturn strictly focus on the negative aspects of it's energy (especially in Pop-Culture Astrology) such as: creating blockages, helping you mature through lessons which take a while, self-doubt...
But Saturn is so much more than that!
This Planet is the embodiment of Karma, it teaches you that your actions have consequences... that you can't run away from your problems and that you need to tackle them face on in order to move on. If you put in the work to improve your Saturn placement, you get rewarded and start to feel not just stable, but capable in yourself and your abilities.
Saturn will help you create a sense of longevity in your life, that you're able to reach your goals one by one (and it gets easier each time!). The sooner you start to work on this placement, the easier it will be to tackle issues as they come (and you'll be able to achieve bigger goals, also meaning better rewards!).
If you don't seek to improve your Saturn placement, run away from your problems all this will do is breed procrastination, self-sabotage and anxiety which makes improving a whole lot harder.
Saturn may also draw you to situations where it thinks you need to learn something, something you may have already struggled with to test whether you are really developing it (and if your Saturn placement is in a House/Sign with other Planets... then these are also Planets which are developed by improving your Saturn Placement's expression/area of life).
~
This Planet only wants to see you develop, improve and achieve your goals in life... and some people think it's a cruel or aggressive planet.
Saturn isn't cruel or aggressive - Saturn is BLUNT and HONEST... and the only way for you to really reach the top and achieve what you want is to be honest with yourself, other people and take accountability for your misdeeds. The truth always comes out - whether it takes days, months, years, decades or even centuries.
If you can't accept these responsibilities, honesty, maturing and self-development then this may be a sign you are going in the complete opposite track of where you are meant to be. Maybe, it's time for you to introspect and figure out what is really important to you rather than focusing on arrogance, spite, bitterness, pettiness, regret or that you can "do what you what" because ultimately - your actions don't matter... which is NOT the truth at all.
In order to move forward in life, you need to move ON and that means FACING your problems, being honest with yourself and taking accountability for your actions.
~
As someone with a Cancer Stellium (including Saturn in Cancer, Sun in Cancer at 0 degrees) I GET it, sometimes it is easier to stay with what you are comfortable with, do things when you want to and pursue the things you enjoy. But take a look at your own sense of emotional security - what do your defence mechanisms look like?
Do they actually protect your sense of self and individuality OR are you acting out because you are afraid of getting hurt and clinging too much onto the past?
Are you taking responsibility for when you hurt those people, are you taking responsibility for YOURSELF when you self-sabotage?
What about when you are clinging to those close to you and trying to protect them, are you actually protecting them or are you controlling them?
Are you closing yourself off from making valuable friendships?
How easily do you trust?
Do you let people take advantage of you, or do you put up a tough shell and hide your sensitivities?
Are you ACTUALLY enjoying life and spending time in the way you want to?
Do you feel nurtured?
If ANY of those questions resonated with you, caused you to have a think or struck something (like it made you mad, paranoid, feel guilty, resentful, regretful) - then it's time for you to introspect and work on your own sense of capability, emotional security, nurturing of yourself and your talents.
I've been working on my Saturn for the past 4 years (unknowingly! I called it self-development!) and the amount of progress I've made so far is IMMENSE (especially since my Cancer Saturn is also in my 10th House!) although I am so far from being completely done, it's a slow process! So... here are my 4 Top Tips for you:
Know that there is NOTHING wrong with you, you are an individual with your own responses and fears - if there is anyone out there that seeks to invalidate it, make you feel like nothing, like you can't work on your goals, makes you feel a deep sense of discomfort or triggers you - these people are NOT meant to be in your life for the long-term. Use them as a LESSON to learn more about yourself, wants, desires, and nurture yourself properly.
If you have hurt someone through an action you took and they have communicated this to you and you know you ARE in the wrong - take accountability, apologise and try your best to not do that action again. If you are not in the wrong and you know it, STAND UP FOR YOURSELF! Don't let people emotionally manipulate you, but know the difference between emotional manipulation and when someone is genuinely hurt and trying to communicate.
Work on your triggers - get to the bottom of why you react a certain way and focus on emotional management at first if this is something which hurts you or others. Heal your emotional security at your own pace, nurture yourself with things you enjoy and do your best to live in the moment. Learn different breathing techniques, reframe the way you think and expose yourself to different situations in a healthy setting. Spend time with those who have PROVEN to be reliable in the past and bring you happiness, help you be your best self.
Focus your time and energy on the things you TRULY enjoy and give you a sense of satisfaction or peace. If you have responsibilities that you don't enjoy (and they provide you with something good and benefit your life in some way), find a way to make it more satisfying or just get straight on with it. If this responsibility doesn't benefit you in any way and provides you with more bad than good - feel free to let it go! There will be something else.
