Kiss
“I’ve finally decided who I want my first kiss to be with,” Cissy announced proudly one day as the Black Sisters took a stroll around the grounds. Bellatrix and Andromeda both groaned. Since she’d started at Hogwarts, Cissy had made it her life’s mission to get a boyfriend, something neither of her sisters approved of, partly because they still saw her as a baby and partly because they didn’t think anyone was good enough for her.
Their lack of enthusiasm didn’t discourage her whatsoever, nor their mother, who kept sending Narcissa letters going over the pros and cons of every Pureblood family who had a son near her age and offering to brew her love potions—not that she needed such help. Between her own good looks, their family’s reputation, and the names her sisters had already made for themselves at school, she had instantly become the most popular girl in her year and boys swarmed her like bumblebees around the daffodils she was named for. There were a select few she flirted with regularly but with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, she seemed to have decided to narrow down her options.
Not waiting for her sisters to ask, Cissy said, with the air of a show judge picking a prize hippogriff, “Lucius Malfoy!” Bella and Andie groaned again, louder. “That prat?” Bellatrix shouted, kicking the trunk of a tree hard, clearly imagining it was the boy’s head. “I don’t understand why you two don’t like him!” Cissy cried in frustration. “I know why you do like him,” Andromeda grumbled. “It’s just because he looks like you!” “What’s wrong with that?” she replied, her cheeks turning slightly pink. “Mother says I should be proud of my beauty so why shouldn’t I try to find a boy who matches it? Besides, the Malfoys are an excellent family.”
“Auntie Walburga always says noble blood isn’t enough on its own,” Bella said haughtily. “Each family and individual has to constantly strive to prove themselves worthy of that nobility. I don’t see Malfoy doing that.” “He seems to think his mere existence is the greatest thing to ever happen to the world; the way he struts around this place,” Andie added. “But, as far as I can tell, he’s not particularly smart or talented.” “He certainly can’t fly!” Bella burst out. “But he doesn’t realize it. I still can’t believe he tried out for the Quidditch team as a first year and was shocked when he didn’t make it! Pathetic little worm! His tantrum was funny, though, I’ll admit.” “He’s got nothing going for him except his name and his hair,” Andie continued. “Which might be enough for some people, but you can do better than that, Cissy!”
Narcissa stomped her foot, glaring at them both. “You two are just jealous that I’m the youngest but I’m going to have my first kiss before you!” At that, they both burst out laughing. Bellatrix even collapsed on to the ground. “First of all,” she gasped, clutching her stomach. “That’s not even true! Andie’s already had her first kiss!” “That was under mistletoe,” Cissy protested. “It doesn’t count!” “And I’m pretty sure it only happened because Rabastan thought I was you,” Andromeda said. Now it was her turn to blush. “Since he seemed really confused when I tried to talk to him after and he’s been avoiding me ever since.”
“Idiot,” Bellatrix muttered, getting to her feet. “He should have known that if I’d ended up under the mistletoe with him, I’d have slapped him! Which brings me to my second point: I’d rather kiss a dementor than Lucius Malfoy. Or either Lestrange, for that matter.” “So who do you want to kiss?” Cissy asked. “Nobody!” “There must be someone.” “I’ve yet to meet anyone who seems like they’d be worth that. All the boys here are so annoying. I don’t want their disgusting mouths on mine!” “It’s not that bad,” Andie said. “Although it’s not that good, either. Mostly it was just…weird.” Cissy frowned.
“That can’t be right. It’s supposed to be the most magical thing in the world!” “You need to stop reading Mother’s romance novels,” Bella grumbled. “To be fair,” Andie reasoned, “it might feel different if you’re in love. I only kissed Rabastan because I was curious. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.” “And you found out it’s about nothing! All this rubbish about kissing and courting and marriage is so stupid! I don’t want to end up tied to some useless boy for my whole life and have to change my name and do whatever he says. I’m better off on my own!” “But you have to get married!” Cissy cried. “That’s what everyone says.” “Come on, Ciss, you know what a rule-breaker Bella is,” Andie said with a grin. “If any of us can find a way out of marriage, it’s her!”
“But then how will I be maid of honor at your wedding?” “You can be maid of honor at Andie’s wedding.” “Excuse me,” Andromeda objected, “I’d prefer not to get married either unless I find someone I love.” Narcissa rolled her eyes.
“Well I’ve already found someone I love! Probably. I’ll know for sure after I kiss him.” Her sisters groaned yet again. “You know most people don’t marry the first person they kiss,” Andie pointed out. “You’re a bit young to be deciding who you want to spend the rest of your life with.” “But I really like Lucius! He’s handsome and charming and witty—” “Are you sure we’re thinking of the same Lucius Malfoy?” Bellatrix asked. “Sounds like you’ve met a completely different version of him than the rest of us.” “She might have. If he likes Cissy too, he’s probably been putting his best foot forward,” Andromeda said. Bellatrix scowled.
“Doesn’t matter. Nothing he can do could make him deserve Cissy!” “So who would you want me to date?” Cissy snapped. “Who do you think deserves me?” “No one! There’s no one at this school who’s worthy of any of us!” “Do you think the real reason you hate Lucius is just because I like him and you want us all to never grow up and get married?” There was a moment of silence as Bellatrix’s scowl deepened and Andromeda looked back and forth between her sisters uncomfortably. Finally Bella said,
“It’s not that I don’t want us to grow up; I don’t want us to forget that our sisterhood is more important than anything. I don’t want us to start putting some dumb boy before each other. Growing up doesn’t have to mean getting married.” Narcissa sighed. “Don’t be so silly, Bella! Of course, no boy’s ever going to come between us! But I do like Lucius, and I do want to get married someday. That doesn’t mean I’ll stop loving you!” “Doesn’t it? Mother only visits her family once a year. And we see Auntie Lucretia way less than Auntie Walburga because she’s not a Black anymore. Once you get married, we’ll never see you again!” Cissy shook her head stubbornly. “It will be different for us. We’re not just sisters; we’re best friends and we will be forever! Once we’re grown up, we’ll be able to Apparate, so we can visit each other all the time. Maybe, since you don’t want to get married, you could even live with me and Lucius!”
Bellatrix didn’t look like she thought much of that idea. Andromeda laughed at the look on her face but laid a hand on her shoulder and said gently, “Cissy’s right. We can’t stop her from growing up, but we can grow up in our own way. We don’t have to be exactly like the rest of our family.” Bellatrix considered this. “You two are the most important people in my life. That won’t ever change.” “And we’ll always love you,” Narcissa told her. “But one of the things we love about you is that you don’t try to control our whole lives like Mother and Father do. Please don’t start doing that now.”
“I didn’t forbid you from going out with Lucius. I just said you deserve better!” “Which, to be fair, you do,” Andie put in. “You were thinking about forbidding me though,” Narcissa said. “Or trying to, at least. I can see it on your face. But if our sisterhood is really so important to you, can you please stop thinking less about what I deserve and more about what I want?”
Bellatrix’s mouth twisted unpleasantly. While she functioned as the sisters’ de facto leader, she usually filled that role by making fun suggestions of games they could play and ways they could challenge themselves, which occasionally took some persuasion but her sisters were always happier for having gone along with. Strict rules were their parents’ job, and something Bella struggled against the most of the three of them. She didn’t want to put her sisters through the same thing, potentially causing them to rebel against or resent her.
“Fine,” she said eventually, a sharp edge still in her voice. “You can kiss Malfoy if that will really make you happy. But if he ever hurts you—if he even so much as breathes the wrong way around you—I will rip him limb from limb, drag his body into the Forbidden Forest and feed it to whatever creature comes fastest at the smell of blood.” Andromeda, who usually frowned whenever Bellatrix’s threats got too violent, nodded solemnly in agreement this time. To both of her sisters’ surprise, a wide smile broke out on Cissy’s face. “Good!” she said cheerfully. “It’s nice to know you’re looking out for me!”

Valentine's Day
In an effort to get more indulgent about my self-insert oc and this blog as a whole, I've decided to start making these little drabble posts about Damien and his three relationships. What better way to kick off this practice than thinking about how Valentine's of the past have gone between them?
Valentine's Day was actually the day Sirius and Damien began their very loose relationship, in fourth year. Lucius was already planning on taking out Narcissa and Severus never acknowledged the holiday, leaving Damien particularly frustrated that year since Lucius had begun toying with his emotions the year prior.
Moments after Damien left the Slytherin dormitory to occupy himself with an aimless walk, he crosses paths with the Marauders, who enjoy bullying him just as much as they enjoy bullying Severus. They pick at him and end up shattering a mug of hot cocoa he's carrying before finally letting him dash away in aggrivation.
Sirius ends up following him, apparently feeling remorseful (though, to be clear, he didn't in actuality), and offers to accompany Damien to Hogsmeade after he repairs the mug. With nothing better to do and fearing the worst if he refuses, Damien agrees. There is a positive of course; this will be his first time venturing into Hogsmeade.
Throughout the afternoon, despite most of it being vicious teasing between the two of them, Damien actually enjoys himself and the almost playful bickering at hand. It's when they're making their way back to the carriages that things escalate, with Sirius wiping butterbeer foam off of Damien's top lip before the two of them end up kissing.
They swear to each other that this will remain a secret between the two of them, and after that day essentially became each other's go-to booty call.
As adults Valentine's probably doesn't mean much between them, though I don't think Sirius would be one to forget the day he made moves on Damien.
Before Damien and Severus start dating seriously, which I imagine was some time after he became a teacher, I think Lucius definitely made ample time for his favourite "side pet" regarding Valentine's Day.
He'd of course send Damien all sorts of gifts, ranging from chocolate and flowers to expensive perfume and new clothes. If he could get away from Narcissa without it being suspicious, he'd deliver these things in person.
Damien greatly enjoys Valentine's Day with Lucius because of how much attention is devoted to himself. It's one of the few days where it feels like Lucius' attention is entirely on him, even if its only for Luci's gain.
For a very long time, Severus did not acknowledge Valentine's Day. Even with his feelings for Lily, he shared the cynical view of many that it's really only a holiday to sell things to you rather than to show how much you love people.
Once he started seeing Damien, his feelings didn't entirely shift, but he does like makin sure that Damien feels especially loved on that day, and vice versa from Damien himself.
Unlike Lucius and his grand gestures, Severus would much rather spend Valentine's Day with Damien in simplicity and privacy. A nice candlelit dinner in his chambers, rather than in the Great Hall with all the noise and extravagant decoration, followed by wine, cuddling, and a good book. It's all he could ever ask for, really.

Part 1
The cafe was filled with chatter and clinking of cups over round tables that were surrounded by bookcases and art hanging from the walls. It was a rather big place giving each table enough privacy for conversation. It was also full of muggles.
Perfect
Draco smirked sitting in one of the big armchairs on the back of the cafe. He had decided to talk with his parents over a cup of coffee instead full meal in restaurant. It was a shorter option. Also they were going to hate it here so he might be back home before dinner. Maybe it wouldn’t be that bad.
Draco’s entire perspective changed when he saw two familiar, distinguished figures appear in the doorway. They were shocked - that much was clear as their cold eyes looked around the crowded place. Draco leaned against his elbow and watched amused when people who wanted to leave the cafe pushed past his father. Lucius quickly turned his disgusted face towards Narcissa and started whispering something harshly into her ear. Then he turned around and wanted to exit but his wife hand stopped him just in time.
Mother noticed her son.
Narcissa took a deep breath, her eyes not leaving Draco for one second. She started slowly moving towards him with Lucius tagging along.
Draco’s old instincts kicked in and he was on his feet when his parents approached.
‘Mother’ he nodded towards her. He didn’t want to admit it but he felt a small pull towards her the moment he saw her. Something he didn’t experienced while looking at the person behind her. His eyes darkened ‘Father’ he said carelessly immediately flopping back on his seat.
His parents sat on a small couch filled with pillows in front of him, both looking quite uncomfortable.
Narcissa elegantly put her hands on her crossed legs letting her skirt fall down on the floor. Her entire focus was on her son. A thing that couldn’t be said about Lucius.
‘You changed’ Draco’s mother said sending him a tight but warm smile.
‘I did’
‘You look...’ she started.
‘More happy, more free, less scarred’ Draco’s laugh had no trace of humor ‘You’d be surprised how that can make you a new man’
Draco decided not to carry on the conversation. They wanted to meet him. They wanted to talk. It was their responsibility.
‘It’s a lovely place’ Narcissa tried.
‘Oh yes. It’s where Y/N has taken me on one of our first dates. You should try their hot chocolate it’s magical’ Draco said looking from his cup of coffee. He saw how visibly unconformable his father looked like. ‘What’s wrong dad? Is something pushing on your God complex?’
‘Draco...’ his mother said.
‘I see you’re also more insolent’ Lucius’ eyes settled on his son.
Draco only shrugged ‘Surprising right? Your son can think on his own and have an opinion. What a revolutionary concept’
‘I understand you’re angry about...the past’ the boy’s mother tried to end the tension as her husband and son kept looking at each other, challenging one another.
‘I’m not angry’ Draco responded looking at his mother ‘Not anymore anyway’ he leaned back in his seat. ‘You wanted to see me’ he cleared his throat ‘So?’
‘We got the news about....’ Narcissa cleared her throat.
‘About?’ Draco taunted raising his eyebrow.
‘your marriage’ she continued.
Draco smirked ‘My marriage’ his eyes bored into his father ‘with a muggle’ he emphasised the last word, his smile growing upon seeing how his father’s jaw tightened.
‘Yes’ Narcissa quickly answered glancing at her husband.
‘So you came here to tell me I’m making the biggest mistake of my life? And if I’ll see the truth you’re waiting with your warm embrace to take back your prodigal son’ Draco said glaring at them. The moment he had got the word from his parents about this meeting he had known that they would be speaking about his nearing marriage. But still he couldn’t help the burning feeling settling in his chest.
‘That’s not it’ Narcissa closed her eyes swallowing hard. ‘Not it’
Draco opened his arms ‘I’m waiting then’
‘We have not been on the best terms for a long while now. But I want you...I need you to understand that being a parent is not an easy task. Many get lost and many pay the price’ her fingers tightened on her purse ‘The moment when we got the news was the moment when we realised how much of your life we have missed and how much of it was our fault. It had to end. It’s parents’ role to love their children not the other way around’ she took a deep breath. ‘We disagree in many things and we don’t expect you to forgive us anything. You see the world differently. And it’s good Draco, it’s good.’ she sent him a small smile, exactly the same one she had given him when he had woken up after a nightmare or when he had left them to go to the school. Something was tight in Draco’s chest.
‘You don’t have to do anything. There’s too much to forgive and too much to forget for it to would be even possible. I just want you to know that we’re with you. In this step you take in your life and all of the others that follow.’ she continued. Draco sneaked a glance at his father who kept looking at him an when he notices his son’s eyes he just so slightly nodded. ‘Parents will do everything for their children. I hope you will one day understand. We tried and failed so this time we will not let it happen my son’ Narcissa finished clearing her throat.
The silence fell around the small table in the back of cafe.
Draco left the cafe with a mess in his head. His father barely said anything but that was good. He could have fought with him - something Draco knew very well he was skilled at. Lucius was just sitting there throughout all of this.
Draco quickly noticed how his mother was drawn to him. How she was sending him smiles and reached couple of times to touch him but stopped herself.
The approved.
They didn’t have much choice really. It was either swallowing their pride or loosing there son. And no matter what anyone could tell about the Malfoys, truth or just half-truth, family mattered to them the most. Even to Lucius in his weird and twisted way.
The cool London air didn’t really help to clear his mind as he moved swiftly through the crowds of people absentmindedly going towards your shared flat.
The sound of closing door pulled you from your book making you quickly stand up and go towards them slightly fidgeting your hands in anticipation.
‘So’ you stared seeing Draco closing the door, his face perplexed ‘How did it go?’
He didn’t say anything for a few seconds.
‘It’ he finally looked at you ‘was good’
‘Oh’ your face dropped.
‘No Y/N’ Draco moved closer to you ‘It was good. They approved’
‘Really?’ you asked excitedly going forward. ‘Even your father?’
‘Yeah. I have no idea how my mother did that’ Draco combed his hair with his fingers messing them more than the wind had already done. ‘It’s weird....’
‘What?’ you followed him towards couch.
‘I wouldn’t give a damn if they didn’t. I would storm off, leave them there and never speak to them again’
‘Sooo...they destroyed your dramatic exit with good parenting?’ you asked sitting next to him. ‘That’s good’
‘Yeah...but why do I care so much that they approved?’ Draco looked at you, his grey eyes surprised.
You smiled softly nodding. ‘Because they’re your parents’
‘Yes they’ve been for a while but I didn’t care. Through so many years....why now...’
‘Because it’s important to you. And no matter what you think of them and what happened in the past you want someone so close to your heart celebrate this big change with you. I know you pushed them away but you couldn’t get rid off them. It’s not that easy’ you swiped away some stray hair from his forehead. ‘You care because you know that they will be with you through that. At some degree at least. What happened and what they did still stands but you’re happy that you got them back even if it’s in just small percentage of your life. Especially your mother.’
‘I was fine’
‘And you will be. But don’t lie my love’ you smirked at him. ‘Not to me’ you leaned up and kissed his forehead ‘It was a big step in their life so I think they’ll not give up so easily. I mean look at you. Who even could?’ you laughed kissing under his eyes and his lips gently.
‘I love you’ Draco reached for your wrists bringing the down. ‘My mother wants to meet you’ he smiled looking at you.
‘What?!’ it was obvious she wanted her son close but you thought you were just inconvenience she had to deal with but not get too close.
‘Oh yes’ Draco leaned on the sofa sitting more comfortably. ‘She asked when you are free’
‘Why does she want that?’ you asked puzzled.
‘Girl talk probably’ your fiance reached for your legs that were touching his and hoisted them up on his knees. ‘To talk about this wonderful boy you came to share’
‘So it’ll go fast’ you got more comfortable upon seeing how calm Draco was about this idea. You laughed when he pinched your thigh.
‘It all goes better than anticipated’ Draco sighed after a while. ‘It’s so freeing’
‘It lifts so much weight doesn’t it?’ you asked looking at him.
‘Unbelievably’
‘Good. Cause now’ you reached under your coffee table. ‘Flowers time!’
‘I changed my mind. I may need some more moral support’ Draco laughed looking at the wedding catalogs.
‘You may get more than that’ you smirked leaning to give him small kisses on his jaw. Draco leaned back to give you more access getting more comfortable on his seat. His hands pulled you closer ‘But first - roses or lilies?’
