Heyyy!!! I just wanted to ask if u could write this very interesting idea of mine. Chan making you roll a dice and what number you roll, is the amount of thrust you take. But you keep calling him daddy and he can't hold back anymore so he starts pounding u like a pup in the heat. NO PRESSURE totally fine if you don't feel comfortable writing this. But just thoughts. Have a nice day/night!💗
A/N: YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW EXCITED I WAS TO WRITE THIS. Like I wanted to write it as soon as I got this, but I got really sick so writing has been on the back burner, but I hope I did your ask justice with my writing. ALSO, my mentions are still open y'all so....
wc: 1.2k (not enough in my opinion 😔)
warnings: 18+ only, minors do not interact, unprotected sex, afab!reader, reader is called slut, daddy kink (obvi), some fluff as well because I love fluff

It was the first day Chan had off in ages. It was the afternoon and you were snuggled up on his bed, laying on top of him, head on his chest watching a movie. “All I’m saying is Andrew Garfield is hot.” You said with a shrug, eating another piece of popcorn. Chan was above you rolling his eyes.
“You think everyone is hot,” he said stealing a sip of your drink. You lift your head from his chest looking up at him, “You can’t possibly deny it, look at him.”
“I never thought you had a thing for skinny white guys, maybe I should stop going to the gym?” before he could tease you even more you quickly shouted out a “No!”
“If you stop going to the gym, it better be for yourself, you know I love you no matter what,” you said giving him a big hug. He kissed your forehead as you both fell back into a comfortable silence.
An hour had passed and you both finally finished the movie. You got up from the bed, stretching your body since you were both lying down on the bed. Chan was still on the bed, stretched out like a starfish. “What should we do next? Do you want to play a board game?” you asked trying to put all the dishes you guys ate from earlier away.
“Yeah we can do that, I think it would be fun,” you said whilst pulling out Monopoly from the stack of board games you both had accumulated over the last two years of Friday game nights with the rest of the members.
“If you get park place again, I will never talk to you again.”
“Chan stop being such a baby,” you said while rolling your eyes. “You love it though,” he said whilst pouting, placing a kiss on your cheek.
You both finally got into the groove of playing the game, giggling at each other throughout it. “Hey! You are cheating, you can’t steal money from the bank.” Chan said swatting your hand away from the pile of money lying on his bed. “Oh come on,” you groaned, “I purposely gave you Park Place this time.”
“What! I won that place fair and square.” he looked at you with a confused face. “You keep telling yourself that Channie,” you said patting his cheek.
“Oh, you wanna play that game?” he said while dragging you on top of his lap messing up the game along the way. “I was about to win” you whined. “Were you, were you really?” he said while kissing your lips.
“Yes!” you said while kissing him back. “If you want to play a game, I have a great one for us to play,” he said with his signature smirk. “Mhm, and what would that be?”
“We still have this die,” he said while rolling it in his hands, “let’s have some fun with it.”
“What do you have in mind” you asked looking up to him, still on his lap. “Why don’t we play a game? You roll the dice two times, and I multiply whatever it is.”
“Okay?” you asked a bit confused. “Sweetheart, you didn’t let me finish. Whatever that number is, is the number of times I’ll thrust into you.”  He said with a coy smile, “Don’t you think that will be fun baby?”
You hesitantly agreed, thinking that, with luck by your side, you would roll all 5’s and 6’s, but you were so wrong.
Tumblr media
“Please Channie, I just need you to fuck me” you pleaded. You were underneath him, his cock rutting in and out of you to whatever you rolled the dice to. “Please, I need you in me,” you whined.
“But I’m already in you unless you want me to stop?” he said while slowly slipping out of you. “Wait!” you stopped him and he stilled in you. You quickly rolled the dice twice, not wanting him to stop. “You rolled three twice, so that means 9 thrusts doesn’t it? Should we make the best of it sweetheart?” he said whilst rubbing your clit.
You just nodded, wanting to feel him inside of you. He slowly thrust inside of you, wanting you to feel every inch of his cock, every vein as your pussy clenched around him. “You are such a good girl, taking my cock so well.”
His words made you clench around him, moaning at the way he was hitting so deep inside of you. You could cum with just his cock inside of you, the stretch being so big that he had to always prep you so well, just to take it. But him fucking you so sensually and slowly was getting you nowhere.
“I need more” you moaned, feeling him particularly deep inside of you. Awe, is my cock not enough? Do you need to get fucked like a slut? I don’t think I can do that baby, you gotta take it like a good girl. Maybe roll higher next time and I can fuck you faster.”
It was torture and he knew it, you were squirming underneath him. “Roll again,” he said while kissing your forehead and you did “6 and 6 this time sweetheart, guess I’m going a bit faster.”
He began pounding into you and you couldn’t control yourself “Fuck daddy, it feels so good.” You didn’t mean to say that, you had never called him daddy before and you had no idea how he would react, before you could even apologize, he began pounding into you.
“Fuck baby, you like that? Do you need daddy to fuck you til you forget your own name?” you just moaned, he was fucking you so good your tongue was loling out to the side. “Come on baby, answer daddy. Do you like my cock fucking into you like the little slut you are?”
“Yes daddy, so good daddy, I’m gonna cum” you said as he began circling your clit simultaneously. You couldn’t control yourself, he was pounding into you so well
“Fuck baby, be a good girl and cum for me, cum on daddy’s cock okay. You can do that for daddy right baby?” you just nodded, your walls squeezing him tighter as he started thrusting inside of you harder. “Will be a good girl for daddy, gonna cum on his cock” you hiccuped as you finally felt that strand in your stomach snap.
You were cumming all over his cock as he continued to rut inside of you. “Where do you want me to cum baby? Where do you want daddy to cum?”
“Inside of me please” you whimpered and he started pounding into you. “Fuck want daddy’s cum don’t you baby? Want daddy to fill you up.”
“Fuck” he groaned as he stilled inside of you painting your walls with his hot cum. He laid next to you, still inside. “Where did the daddy come from baby?” he asked kissing your forehead. “I have no idea, but I’m glad I did because I think that was the best orgasm I’ve ever had,” you said with a giggle.

Ghoulish Kinda Love
Tumblr media
John Hancock x Ghoul!Fem Reader (SMUT!! and some fluff!)
CW: NSFW MDNI!! ghoul reader, chem usage, alcohol use, talks of discrimination, p in v, p0rn w/ some plot, slow burn, FEELINGS! Fingering, oral, (fem receiving) short handjob, unprotected sex, ghoul sex, riding, irradiated cream pie, cursing, fluffy ending, potential spelling/grammar errors, slight deviance from game
AN: I’m back partying people! Thank you to those who have put requests in regarding our charismatic ghoul companion Hancock! Been itching to write something for him and give him a little more love because there isn’t a lot out there for my boy Hancock, and he deserves all the love. ❤️ We won’t talk about the way I’d go to write this and each time I would, a sign telling me I need to “repent for my sins” would come up along the road lmao. 😭 Anyway, enjoy some fluffy smutty action with our man Hancock! Please go easy, I’m still relatively new to all things Fallout so if I goof up some stuff from the game, I do apologize, I’m still learning! But otherwise I do hope y’all enjoy! 🥰
Also I don’t own the rights to any music here, but there are a few songs if you’d like to enjoy them along with the moment for a more immersive experience!
You didn’t remember much from your life before the bombs dropped on that horrifically fateful day. You vaguely remember the taste of pie when you would bake it, or Mac ‘n cheese back when it was made with clean water and fresh hot off the burner. You even more vaguely remember the days of dressing really nice, now it was all you could to find something that was concealing enough to hide who you had become wandering along the commonwealth aimlessly. There was once purpose in your journey, once meaning behind it but not anymore, at least not one you could remember. Two hundred years is a long time to live, a lot of memories to hold, and when you’re spending a lot of that time trying to keep from turning feral it’s even harder to remember the trivial things like life without radiation exposure. It pained your heart to think about, to look at yourself in a mirror or your reflection in a passing puddle of radiated water. One thing you do remember is looking beautiful once upon a time, your once E/C eyes having turned a hazy black, your H/L, H/C having long since fallen out. Hell, the most noticeable part was that your nose was completely missing now, your leathery marred skin a sickly grey making you look like a walking corpse. You hated looking upon yourself now that you were a ghoul, you had been for a little over a century now, but it still always caught you by surprise.
t was one day upon your blind stumbling that you had entered a town called Goodneighbor, your bandana covering your face and large hat on to keep the fact that you were a ghoul slightly harder to point out lest it be anything like Diamond City was. You found out the hard way that day that a lot of places don’t take kindly to ghouls, and whether you were feral or not they tended not to want to chance it. You were just going to stroll through, minding your own business when a man stopped you on your way in. “Hey, hold up there. First time in Goodneighbor? Can’t go walkin’ around without insurance” spoke the gruff voice of a man who had just lit a cigarette in front of you, speaking with it sticking from the corner of his mouth before removing it and blowing the smoke in your direction. Asshole. “Unless it’s keep-dumb-assholes-away-from-me insurance, I’m not interested” you stated, and he didn’t quite like the tone you were catching. “Now don’t be like that, I think you’re gonna like what I have on offer” he replied, making you roll your eyes at his persistence. Here we go. “You hand over everything you got in them pockets or “accidents” start happening to ya. Big, bloody, accidents” he threatened, and you didn’t take too kindly to it but by now, you were used to the casual threat being thrown your way, especially as a ghoul. You heard a gravely voice from off in the distance, almost as if he had just appeared from the alleyway between the buildings in behind the man haggling you. “Woah woah, now time out” the man spoke, wearing a black tri-corn hat and a stark red jacket with a white dress shirt underneath. What really caught you by surprise? He was a ghoul. “someone steps through the gate the first time, they’re a guest. You lay off the extortion crap” he finished, walking towards the man haggling you and the man almost seemed to meet him halfway as if he knew him. All you could do was stand there in awe. Holy shit, he was defending you, no one ever did that. “What’d you care? She ain’t one of us” the man spoke, his cigarette smoke still lingering in your nostrils from when he’d blown it in your face. “No love for your mayor, Finn? I said let her go” the ghoul said, standing his ground. Wait…did he say mayor? He was the mayor of this town? As a ghoul?? You were so flabbergasted to imagine such a thing, your kind were so hated, you could never have thought of a town being accepting enough to be run by a ghoul. Although you could tell by the body language this man in particular didn’t really care for the mayor, they looked as if they were getting ready to have a stand off. “You’re soft Hancock. You keep letting outsiders walk all over us, one day there’ll be a new mayor” the man, Finn countered. “Come on man, this is me we’re talkin about. Let me tell ya somethin’…” the ghoul, Hancock said, walking closer to Finn, looking as if he was stretching his hand out to place it on Finn’s shoulder but instead, reached for a knife, stabbing your haggler repeatedly in the stomach until he dropped to the ground at his feet. You were in shock, you’d seen people killed before, heck you’ve killed people yourself before because it was a kill or be killed kinda world out here, but never in the time you spent as a ghoul had anyone ever killed for you.
“Now why’d you have to go and say that, huh? Breakin’ my heart here” Hancock said to the man before looking to you. “You alright, sister?” He asked. “Your face…it’s like mine” was unfortunately all you could say, bringing your bandana down to show him. “Ya like it? I think it gives me a sexy, king of the zombies kinda look. Big hit with the ladies” he said flirtatiously, his voice dipping a little lower, bringing out the gravely rasp to his tone and if you could blush still, you would have. You gave a smile and a giggle, enjoying his take on ghoulification. “I’m a ghoul, something I see we share. Lot of walkin’ rad freaks like us around here” he said, and you felt guilty for pointing it out and not thanking him first, but his next words put a warmth in your heart to hear. “Goodneighbor’s of the people, for the people, you feel me? Everyone’s welcome” he said, and that made you smile because never had you been some place where you felt so welcome for being who you were. “Of the people, for the people? Oh brother…” you joked sarcastically, making him laugh. “I can tell I’m gonna like you already. Just consider this town your home away from home…so long as you remember who’s in charge” he said before starting to walk off, but you were so curious, had so many questions needing answers to, so you bothered and stopped him.
“What can I do for ya, newcomer?” He asked happily, making you almost clam up when you went to speak but you cleared your throat, working through your anxiety. “What’s your story, Hancock?” You asked kindly yet curiously. “My favorite subject. I came into this town about…a decade ago? Had a smooth set of skin back then. While I was busy making myself a pillar of the community, I would go on these…like…wild tears. I was young; any chems I could find, the more exotic the better. Finally found this experimental radiation drug, only one of its kind left, and only one hit” he said, and his story had you intrigued. “Oh man, the high was so worth it. Yeah I’m livin’ with the side effects but hey, what’s not to love about immortality?” He asked, making you chuckle. “Got its perks, its downsides too but hey, glad to finally see someone enjoyin’ it” you said, making him chuckle. “All that chem use definitely prepared you for a career in politics…” you quipped wittily, making him chuckle. “People respect me because I don’t put myself above them. I sling and shoot up just like the next guy” he said, and you respected that. “Hey, no judgement! I respect that” you replied. “Can you tell me more about this town of yours, Goodneighbor?” You asked. “It’s all about the people, understand? They’re freaks, misfits, and troublemakers and that’s why I love ‘em. Everyone here lives their own life, their own way. No judgements” he said proudly, making you smile happily to find yourself welcomed to such a wonderful place. It wasn’t anything crazy big or crazy busy, it was quaint and sweet, felt like home and that was a hard feeling to come by these days. This was the first time you’d ever been anywhere so accepting, so care free of looks or who you were or what you did. It felt good. Maybe this was what you’d been searching for all this time.
“I have a feeling you’ll fit in well here” he said with a warm and inviting smile to match his tone, making you smile hopefully, and it made him happy to see such a look on your face, to know he had helped someone who seemed to really need it. “Thank you, it’s so nice to finally be welcomed somewhere rather than forced out” you said, and he felt that pain, knew that a lot of other people who stayed in his town felt the same way. It warmed his heart to know that he could be a helping hand. You seemed really sweet, he hoped you’d settle in and stay a while, newcomers were always interesting around here but you piqued his interest just a little bit more than most others did.
So as you settled in over time, he got to know you a little bit more. You would often venture down to the bar, and you’d found Hancock there quite often, there you exchanged life stories, dreams, aspirations, regrets. It was nice, finally having human interaction for once with someone, someone who understood and someone who wouldn’t cringe or push you away when you spoke. Some nights, he’d put something on from the jukebox and ask you to dance with him, not caring about how bad either of you were in your drunken/high states. Did I mention you were chem buddies? Oh yeah. When night time came, or you’d find some chems while out scavenging the commonwealth for more supplies to help yourself, Hancock and the town, he was inviting you to his room on the state house to do them with him. For that time, you could just forget the world in its entirety, forget being a ghoul, forget it all. You would smile and laugh amongst each other as you told wild stories, flirted with one another, it was always a good time with him. You never had to worry, and you loved that. He was a safe place to just be yourself and he did the same, with absolutely no shame or judgement in sight.
There was one night in particular that you’d remember for the rest of your days, no matter how long you lived until. You were at the bar, talking and enjoying a few drinks with Hancock as you both typically spent your evenings, before you watched him saunter his way over to the jukebox, picking a song to play to dance with you to. As much as Fehr claimed she wanted no part in, or held any care in your growing relationship with the mayor, she couldn’t help but feel a little warmth and happiness deep down that Hancock had finally managed to find someone that made him happy. It was good to see him happy and well, to be carefree in the positive kind of way rather than just getting high in his room all the time. Of course he was still getting high, but it was with you, someone who kept him company, someone who he could confide in. You smirked as you recognized the song that was playing as he leaned against the jukebox, his eyes raking your figure as Oh, Pretty Woman began to play, urging you over to him to dance with him. How could you say no to a man with such charisma?
Pretty woman walkin’ down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I’d like to meet
Pretty woman, I don’t believe you, you’re not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy
He’d softly sang along with the song, his arm sliding around your waist to your back, swiftly and effectively pulling you against him, your hands resting against the ruffles along his white under shirt. You smiled up at him, knowing this was once again one of those times that if you could blush, you would. You’d never felt this way before, never felt so cared for, so wanted since you’d become a ghoul.
Pretty woman, won’t you pardon me?
Pretty woman, I couldn’t help but see
Pretty woman, that you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me?
He continued to sing, just loud enough for you to hear, grabbing your hand and spinning you in front of him suavely before dipping you, unphased by anyone who could be looking on. You smiled as people clapped and stomped their feet to the beat as a way to hype you both up. You couldn’t help the fury of giggles leaving you as he did so, absolutely stunned by such a display.
Grrrow
He imitated right by your ear with a grin, making a shiver run down your spine at the way his raspy voice dropped in octave a little bit as he did. You gave an intrigued sound in response before a laugh bubbled up from your throat as you pulled his signature black, tri-corn hat off from his head in the process of standing back up, placing it on your own with a mischievous grin up at him that he mirrored back. He was good and he knew it, but you couldn’t just let him have this that easily, as much as you were down bad for him, you wanted to see him chase you a little bit. Needed to see if he was all talk or if his words and actions held meaning to them like you hoped they would.
Pretty woman, stop awhile
Pretty woman, talk awhile
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you’ll stay with me
‘Cause I need you, I’ll treat you right
Come with me, baby, be mine tonight
He sang as you danced once more, grabbing your hands and twirling you to where your back pressed to his front for a moment before twirling you back, his fingers beneath your chin as you looked up at him at the end of the verse with a teasing grin. You sauntered away to the doorway towards the rooms before stopping there, turning to look over your shoulder at him as an invitation but stayed as you watched him sing.
Pretty woman, don’t walk on by
Pretty woman, don’t make me cry
Pretty woman, don’t walk away, hey
Okay
If that’s the way it must be, okay
I guess I’ll go on home, it’s late
There’ll be tomorrow night, but wait
What do I see?
Is she walkin’ back to me?
He sang as he watched your hand as it slid down from the doorway you propped up against before making your way back to him, getting just as excited to see you come back as the man singing the song claimed to be. He smirked, watching the sway of your hips as you walked towards him, giving a whistle as you did, his eyes roaming your body.
Yeah, she’s walkin’ back to me
Oh, oh, pretty woman
He finished, watching you loop your arms around his neck as his hands came to rest against your hips and god he’d never been more scared than fucking up this moment with you. Does he just hold you? Does he kiss you? Fuck, do you even feel that way about him? He figured with the way you two flirted, with the way you gave him bedroom eyes just a minute ago that you did, but he didn’t want to be an asshole and just assume either. Maybe he’d let you make the first move, place it in your hands to do with what you wish. That look in your eyes made him never want to look away, you looked at him like he hung the stars in the sky. God how he adored you, he wanted you so badly, and not even in just the sexual way that he normally felt for women who piqued his interest now and again. You were really and truly different in his eyes. As people clapped and cheered on for you both, the tension in the air was broken momentarily, making you laugh happily as you looked out at everyone then back up at him. You smiled up at him, your heart racing as he looked at you with a smile that told him this was the moment. So he took the leap of faith, pulling his hat from your head and leaning down to kiss you, his hat concealing your lips that locked together softly. The on lookers gave a whistle and a cheer as they knew exactly what was happening, and you placed your hands on either sides of his face, pulling him to you to keep him there for just a little bit longer. He grinned into your kiss, his free hand coming to rest on your hip as all worries flew out the window the moment you enthusiastically pulled him in. There couldn’t have been a happier man to exist in that moment other than him, watching as he looked down at you with the most star struck look on his face. “What do you say you and me sneak off for the night, Mr. Mayor?” You asked, placing his hat back on his head and adjusting it for him with a smile. He gave a raspy chuckle at you using his title and what you were insinuating from your question. He’d be lying if he said it didn’t send an excited twitch straight to his cock. “I’d say I like the way you think, sunshine” he replied, making you smile and giggle at his enthusiasm. “Good answer” you replied. Guess it was a good thing you’d paid for your drinks already after all.
You followed him upstairs, to his room in the state house, closing the door behind you both as you walked in after him. You could still hear the jukebox playing music loudly, you smiled as you heard the next song playing from it. Coincidentally enough, it was perfect for a slow dance. His hand boldly came to rest on your waist as his free hand grabbed yours, your fingers intertwined together. “I know it might be cheesy but…now that we’re away from all the pryin’ eyes, I wanna do this right” he said, making you smile softly at him, doing your best to hide the giddy excitement bubbling inside of you that you hadn’t felt in centuries. “Would you…dance with me?” He asked, making you smile brightly as your arms looped around his neck and you looked up at him with a dreamy smile. “I’d be delighted to” you replied, making him smile back down at you. You hummed along with the opening of the song, knowing the melody that was being played.
Crazy, I’m crazy for feelin’ so lonely
I’m crazy, crazy for feelin’ so blue.
I knew, you’d love me as long as you wanted
And then someday, you’d leave me for somebody new.
You sang as you rest your head against his chest as you both swayed to the rhythm of the song. You closed your eyes for a moment, enjoying the warmth of him against you and the feel of his embrace. He gave a contented hum, getting to hear your lovely voice so close, and only for him in this moment. In this moment you weren’t the newcomer that everyone felt the need to gawk at every time you entered a room with him, as selfish as it made him feel but at the same time, in this moment he wasn’t the people’s either. He was yours, and you were his. For a moment the world felt at peace. For a moment, all time seemed to stop around you and it was just the two of you here. It was calming, intimate even. Intimate in a way that for the first time, wasn’t sexual for a change. The closest he’d really ever gotten to intimacy without sex was aftercare, and even then, it came after sex so therefore it was still involved. But this? This was nice. Having you in his embrace, your head against his chest, not a wrinkle of worry evident on your face, and his only worry being if his heart was racing too harshly or too loud for you to be able to withstand.
Worry, why do I let myself worry?
Wonderin’ what in the world did I do?
Crazy, for thinkin’ that my love could hold you.
I’m crazy for tryin’, and crazy for cryin’
And I’m crazy for lovin’ you.
You supposed the song wasn’t wrong in a way, most people would call you crazy for falling in love with a ghoul, or trying to fall in love period as a ghoul. Most people knew them by the characteristic lack of smooth skin, sunken in and marred skin, missing noses and the potential that they turn feral at any moment. You would never listen to that though, as a ghoul you knew you came with ups and downs, but you never let that stop you from seeing the best in others just as you’d hope they would some day do for you in return. After all, you and John both have had your fair share of run ins with feral ghouls in your time traveling together, you both knew what to look out for. John wasn’t one of them, and he knew neither were you. It never mattered to you what someone looked like, you only cared whether they would care for you in return the same way you care for them. How big their heart is, how they treat you and others around them. John was a good man, you knew this from the first moment you met him. Sure, the first moment you’d met him he killed someone, but he killed someone who was trying to harm and haggle you the moment you first step foot into what you’d learned to be his town. He did it to protect you. He looks out for his people, wanting, and doing only what is best for them, helping them any way he can. Of the people, for the people he’d always say. It was that drive, that selflessness that attracted you to him, but also that he didn’t discriminate like the rest of the world seemed to. You couldn’t care less about how his skin was marred from the years of radiation exposure, how a deep hole sits where his nose once did. You saw John for the man he is, the heart he has, not just as the ghoul everyone else does. That’s what made you so likable in his eyes, you never judged. You never held a distaste for the fact that you were a ghoul, that he was one, or that you were surrounded by your fellow people of Goodneighbor who were also mostly ghouls. You had a good outlook on things but weren’t too gullible to be taken advantage of, something that not many people had these days. He also appreciated the way you never judged his habits. Never once in the amount of times that he would take a hit of jet, or pop a couple of mentats, hell even on the rare occasional use of psycho, did you ever once judge him. You didn’t have to partake with him, he’d never force you to, but the fact that you didn’t cringe when he would, the fact that you would never chew him out for it as if he didn’t know the consequences of his own actions. You respected him, respected his way of living, just as he respected you and yours.
He looked down at you, seeing your eyes light up as they met his with a smile spread across your lovely, maybe slightly chapped, lips. He smiled down at you, his hand leaving yours to cradle your cheek as he looked upon you with astonishment. How could someone like you, so loving, so caring, choose him? In a world full of people, granted he knew from experience that the pickings amongst those of the surface were less than stellar, yet you still chose him. A ghoul, when there are people out there that are still far more human looking. Hell, he was sure you could make a synth even grow a heart if you wanted it to and looked upon one the way you looked at him. Sure he would tease you for liking him, for befriending him, but it warmed his heart to know that out of anyone out there, you chose him as your battle partner, him to adventure with. He only hoped deep down that that friendship could be more.
And almost as if someone out there was listening to his thoughts, had heard his silent prayers, he watched as your eyes flickered between his hazy black ones and then to his thin, marred lips, with a look he recognized well. This was the moment that would lead to it all, the moment he’d been waiting for, dreaming about since starting to travel with you and partake in your company. It was truly all or nothing now.
Crazy, for thinkin’ that my love could hold you.
I’m crazy for tryin’, and crazy for cryin’
And I’m crazy for lovin’…
You.
He smiled a little wider when your hand came to cradle his cheek like he was doing with you as you were singing, pulling him even closer to you, if it was possible. Before he knew it, as you sang the last word of the song, your lips found their way to his once more, pressing gently against his own but with confidence and passion that showed him you wanted this. That you wanted him. His hand that was on your cheek soon came to rest against the back of the one you had on his, keeping you as close as he could get but also ensuring that this was real. He needed to know that this wasn’t a dream or some jet fueled fantasy he was in. And to his surprise and delight, it was in fact real. He reciprocated the kiss, finally breaking out of his momentary shock to pull you against him, your chests flush together as his other hand gripped your hip. You smiled into it as his tongue prodded at your lower lip, asking kindly to deepen the kiss into something more passionate. You opened, allowing it and allowing the moment to carry you both to wherever it may lead. Your free hand came to rest against his chest, fingers toying with the ruffles of his undershirt beneath the red jacket he always wore, earning a low, gravely groan from him that rattled his chest. As you both parted for air, he looked down to see that beautiful half lidded expression as he pressed his forehead against yours. “Tell me I’m not dreamin’” he said, breathlessly, almost as if he couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. His response made you chuckle. “I’d be really pissed if I was, that or damn impressed by what the chems you have can do” you quipped, making him laugh. “Me too. You feel real…real nice too” he complimented, his head ducking down to place small chaste kisses against your neck, always the charmer. You giggled. “Then I’d say it’s real” you replied, and those were the words he wanted to hear. He chuckled softly as he exhaled, relieved to know it was real.
He smiled but you could tell there was something eating at him, something he hadn’t said yet. You’d known Hancock long enough in the time you’d spent getting high with him and traveling the commonwealth with him to know his cues. Part of him hated the way that you could tell something was off, after all, he always wanted to keep this aloof front, like nothing ever bugged him but you knew that wasn’t true. Something was bugging him now. “There’s uhh…there’s something I need you to hear” he started, making you part enough to give him space, but not too far to make him feel like you weren’t there for him or put off by what he’d said. “Is everything alright?” You asked, concern in your tone that maybe you might have overstepped a boundary or assumed something incorrectly. “Oh yeah, better than that. This is just…tricky” he replied before giving a sigh, as if trying to get the tension to release from him with one breath. “It’s just, being out there with you, it’s made me realize. Most of my life to this point, I’ve been runnin’ out on the good things I got” he answered, but you could tell he wasn’t done yet, he had more to get off of his chest. “I skipped out on my family, my life in Diamond City. Took up with you just to get outta Goodneighbor. Hell, runnin’ from myself is what made me into…into a damn ghoul” he added, sounding upset at himself, and you wanted so badly in that moment to reach out and take his hand, do something to comfort him, but you wanted him to finish as to not overstep or rudely cut him off. “But bein’ here with you, for the first time in my life, things have just felt…right” he added, making you smile softly at that. You were happy you could be help and a good friend to him, even if you deep down wanted more than that. “And running? It’s the furthest thing from my mind. I mean, I left Goodneighbor thinkin’ I was just gonna sharpen up the ol’ killer instinct. But whether it’s fate, or destiny, or just god damn coincidence, I ended up with someone like you” he continued, making you smile once again, even brighter this time at him as you imagined a soft pink would have flushed to your cheeks had you had a smoother set of skin. “I turned one of the nastiest settlements in the commonwealth into a refuge for the lost. I thought I’d done something I could hang my hat on. But being out there with you, it’s made me realize just how small time I’d been thinkin’. And that maybe all my running, from my life, myself…maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing after all” he confessed, making you look slightly confused as to what he’d said.
“Running from yourself? What do you mean?” You asked, making him chuckle a bit as he thought of what to say to both be honest but also lighten the slightly damper mood up a little bit. He needed to see that smile back on your lips, when you smiled at him, it was like the world was no longer in shambles. He needed that, right now and until the end of his days because he swore no high from any chem out there compared to the one you’d give him. “Well, I didn’t always look this good. The drug that did this to me, that made me a ghoul, I knew what it was going to do. I just couldn’t stand lookin’ at the bastard I saw in the mirror anymore” he replied, making your heart break for him that he felt that way about himself, under all that confidence. “The coward who’d let all those ghouls from Diamond City die. Who was too scared to protect his fellow drifters from Vic and his boys. If I took it, I’d never have to look at him again. I could put all that behind me. I’d be free. Didn’t seem like a choice at all” he added. “Turns out it was just me runnin’ from somethin’ else in my life” he continued, sounding ashamed for his actions and his past, and you understood better than anyone what that felt like. You stepped a little closer to him to grab his hand in yours, an offering of comfort. “Hey, it doesn’t matter what you did. All that matters is what you do from here on out” you said confidently, something you always told yourself to keep your head high and keep going, making him chuckle. “I know a lotta bookies that’d disagree with you. But I feel what you’re gettin’ at. So let me get to the point” he said, grabbing your other hand in his as he looked at you, eye to eye now to show you what he was about to say next was very important to him.
“Throwin’ in with you, has been the best decision I ever made. It’s like I found a part of myself I never realized was missing…which happens sometimes when you’re a ghoul” he started, making you chuckle as you too knew that feeling all too well by now. “If I hadn’t taken up with you, I’d probably be in the gutter somewhere, getting gnawed on by radroaches. You’ve been one hell of a friend” he said, making you smile and chuckle at that, before you looked down at your hands held together, working up the courage to ask the question that had been plaguing your mind for ages now. This was it, this was the moment. “Have you…ever thought about us as maybe more than just friends?” You asked skittishly almost, hoping he’d say yes, praying he felt the same way. A part of you felt deep down like he did, call it hope, call it whatever, but you were never fully sure where you guys stood. You two flirted like he held interest, he looked out for you, invited you along for things that he’d really never invite anyone else to other than maybe Fehr, but it felt different when it was with you. There was a connection between you, that was undeniable, but what type of connection you were never sure of. He gave a chuckle at your question. “It that obvious? But c’mon, you don’t wanna wake up to this mug every morning. Never wish that on anyone I cared for” he replied, joking in that self deprecating manner he always did but answering your question nonetheless. “Hey, who I fall for is my decision, and I’ve fallen for you” you replied softly but with confidence, showing him that you meant it. “Wouldn’t expect that kinda lapse in judgement from you. But I guess that works out for me then, doesn’t it?” He asked with a happy smile, chuckling once more but you could tell that that comment did wonders to help him feel more at ease. “Moments like this, I know all that karma stuff is bull. Because no one like me should be this lucky” he added, making you chuckle in response as you came closer, looping your arms around his neck once again. “Sure you do. You deserve the world in my eyes, John” you said softly, genuinely as you looked up at him, your eyes promising nothing but love and support for his any and every endeavor. “I don’t need the world sunshine. I got you, what else could I need?” He replied, making you giggle as you rest your head against his chest. “So everything is okay between us then?” You asked, making him give a raspy huff in amusement. “I got you, everything else is just details and drug paraphernalia” he said, making you smile warmly as you chuckled once again at his corny line before leaning up and kissing him once more.
It wasn’t long before silence fell over the room long enough to hear the music playing from the jukebox once more. Once again, as if someone had been listening, it was a rather slow, very romantic song playing through the speakers.
Blue moon you saw me standing alone.
Without a dream in my heart,
Without a love of my own.
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for.
You heard me saying a prayer for,
Someone I really could care for.
And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold.
I heard somebody whisper “Please adore me”
You smiled into it as you both very quickly got swept back up into the moment with each other, his hands traveling the expanse of your curves slowly and softly, mapping out the valleys and plains of your body and to feel you against him. A mischievous grin took the place of the more innocent smile as you pulled away, gently pushing Hancock back to sit on his bed. He gave an equally mischievous grin and chuckle at your actions as you separated enough to take his hands and use them to slide the straps of your dress down your shoulders, allowing it to begin to fall down your frame. He gave a chuckle before whistling once it slipped from you, sitting in a red pool on the floor, leaving you in just your underwear as you stepped out of the discarded dress and straddled his lap on the bed.
And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold!
Blue moon!
Now I’m no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
He grinned, his hands resting on your hips as yours sat on his collarbones, pulling him into another heated kiss. “Fuck…” was all he could manage to mutter into it, making you giggle as your hands wandered his frame. You smiled as you pulled back to enjoy the almost drunk look on his face as he drank you in. It was as if he didn’t know where to look or touch first, he was normally smooth and suave when it came to this sort of thing, but you were different than the rest. “You’ve got a wonderful way of making this ol’ ghoul feel like her old self again with that look” you replied, making him chuckle before clearing his throat. “What’s not to like there, sunshine? All I see is a badass, very beautiful woman sitting in front of me” he said, moving his hips against you and that told you all you needed to know as you chuckled before littering kisses down his scarred neck. “It ain’t exactly pretty underneath all this, you sure you still wanna do this?” He asked, making you look back up at him. “You kidding? Of course I do. Looks ain’t everything ya know” you said, making him laugh. “Says the model” he quipped, and you had to admit that it was sweet that he regarded you that way, but you knew you were no model. What you were though was true to your words when you undid the buttons to his undershirt and coat. You gave a laugh at his flirtation. “Yeah, maybe if a model spent too much time in a tanning bed” You replied, making him chuckle as you continued to litter your kisses down his chest after disposing of his top and coat, then down his stomach, and soon to where his pants sat at his hips. “Still gorgeous all the same to me” he said, and that made your heart flutter in your chest to hear. You couldn’t help the smile that painted your lips as you situated yourself on your knees between his legs.
Damn what a sight it was he’d thought to himself, seeing you on your knees before him, eagerly undoing the flag he used as a belt to free him from them and his briefs. You grinned up at him, getting them down and off, doing the same with your underwear, then happily taking your seat back on his lap. He gave a playful tap against your ass as you got situated, enjoying the nice handful that most ghouls weren’t blessed to still have once they’d reached this point. “I think you’re very handsome, John” you said genuinely, and god he could just melt from your compliments and tone. A moan rips from both of your throats as you grind against him, your slick cunt gliding along his length. “Fuck, oh no sweet cheeks, we’re doing this the right way” he said, making you cock your head to the side confused before he picked you up and put you on your back on the bed. You gave a playful yelp as he did before giggling as your back hit the mattress. “Wanna feel you and taste you first, get you all worked up. Somethin’ tells me you’re a sight to see when you’re all crazy for me” he said, making you swear you could actually blush for once as you let out a way louder moan than you meant to when one of his fingers grazed up and down your slit and found your clit almost immediately, drawing tight circles. Your hand clasped to your mouth immediately, knowing the walls were likely paper thin, but John seemed to have a better solution. He moved your hand away, leaning down to pull you into a heated kiss once more, muffling your moans to where they were just loud enough for him and him alone. It had been so long since you’d felt the touch of another, your scars usually keeping you from finding someone to help scratch that itch. There was the occasional crazy you’d run into that were hell-bent on trying to sleep with a ghoul to find out what it was like. You avoided those people the best you could because something told you that necrophilia didn’t exactly sit very highly on their never to do lists.
Soon his fingers moved down to prod at your entrance, pushing in slowly to allow you the chance to accommodate the intrusion. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as his roughly textured fingers began to piston in and out of you in a steady rhythm, sure to graze your walls to find that spongy bundle of nerves that would leave you crying his name. “Fuck, John…” you moaned, earning a low gravely groan from him. The way you said his name so salaciously went straight to his cock and made his head swim with all the ideas of how he could get you to say his name like that more. Soon his lips mimicked what you’d started earlier on him, trailing down your neck, stopping to tease and nip at your sensitive spots before moving down to take one of your nipples in his mouth. Your arms flew to cling around him, nails digging small crescent shapes into his back as you bit your lip so hard you were scared it would bleed. You were far more sensitive than you thought you’d be, even after ghoulification, apparently the loss of touch still left you as needy as before. “So good for me” he praised, making you whimper as his kisses dipped lower and lower. “Wanna taste you. Gotta know if you taste as sweet as you sound” he said, shifting in between your legs, kissing the insides of one of your thighs leading up to your sex before skipping to your other one, leaving you on edge. “John, don’t tease…” you mewled, making him chuckle at how eager you were. “You’re so cute, hard not to when you sound like that, sunshine” he replied before seeing just how wet you were for him. A sound of intrigue left him as he looked at his fingers once he withdrew them from you. “Tell me, this all for me?” He asked, pulling his fingers out and showing you your slick that clung to his fingers as he separated them, making you whine as you shake your head. “Yes, all for you John, please…” you begged, making him smirk as his fingers slid back inside of you with little resistance, and his tongue finally making contact against your sensitive clit. Your body arched off the bed for a moment, biting back another loud cry as his tongue started to circle your clit. “Fuck! Oh my god” you let out, making him chuckle as the pads of his fingers found your g-spot, rubbing it as his tongue drew all sorts of letters and shapes along your sensitive bud. Your breathing started to turn ragged, your mind blank, you could hardly think of anything other than the whispered expletives and cries of his name that left your lips like a mantra. “Keep sayin’ my name sweetheart, tell ‘em who makes you feel this good” he said with a cocky grin as he dove back into you like a man starved. To think, he could’ve had this the entire time you’d been traveling together, he was at least lucky to have it now.
“Just like that, just like that! Fuck…” you moaned, feeling the ache in your lower stomach start to burn and grow taut. It had been so long since you’d been with someone, and even longer since you’d been with someone who actually could help you reach your peak. Your hips began to buck selfishly against his fingers and tongue, making him moan into you as you used him. “That’s it baby, use me. Wanna hear that pretty mouth moan my name when you cum” he said, making you focus on chasing that high, god you were so fucking close, you could feel it. He peered up at you, watching as your face contorted with pleasure, calculating and changing his movements based on your expressions and sounds. You gasped as he started to draw tight circles around your clit with his tongue, curling his fingers inside of you to rub your g spot once more. “John I…fuck, I think I’m gonna- John!” You moan in warning the best you could before your orgasm washed over you like a tidal wave, sending your back arching off the bed and your thighs squeezing and trapping his head between your legs. He moaned into you as your body was savaged by what felt like every nerve ending lighting on fire all at once. He couldn’t care less if you suffocated him like this, even with no nose to get caught or crushed, he’d consider it an honorable way to go out. You tried to steady your breathing as best you could, finding it hard to open your eyes even, but when you did, you realized he was still trapped between your legs. “Oh fuck, I’m so sorry!” You apologized, opening your legs to let him free and breathe, whining as his fingers left you with that disappointingly empty feeling. “Don’t you dare apologize, being crushed between these is one hell of a dream come true” he said, making you roll your eyes playfully and laugh at his response. Your hand reached out to yank him back up onto the bed, finding your spot once again straddling him. He groaned low in his throat as your hands stroked him, his one hand resting on your hip, squeezing every now and again. “Drivin’ me crazy here sunshine, might just be enough to make me turn feral if you’re not careful” he said, making you chuckle as you kissed him once more, your taste still heavy on his tongue but you didn’t care. You delighted in the moans coming from him as your tongues fought for dominance over each other. Your head dipped into the crook of his neck, peppering kisses along his neck and collarbone. “Need you so bad, John” you said, voice no louder than a breathless whisper as he chuckled. “I dunno, judging by your reaction I figured my mouth was enough. I’m just kiddin’. Think you can handle it, sweet cheeks?” He asked, making you grin as you lined him up to your entrance, slowly working your way down onto his member. “You tell me” you challenged in response as he stretched you open, fuck it’s really been a long time. “Touché- fuuucckk. Goddamn baby…” he groaned as your needy cunt slowly sucked him in, careful to stop once he’d fully sheathed inside of you. “Fuck…” you panted, feeling him fill you entirely, his tip nudging the apex of your cervix.
“It’s uhh…it’s been quite a while since the last time I did this, but I wanna make you feel good” you said, and that ruined him entirely. How could someone so sweet be speared on his cock right now? He’d never know but he’d thank every god out there until the end of his days for it. “That’s alright baby, just not sure I have it in me to be gentle or stop once I’ve started there sugar” he said, grabbing your hips to help you start a good pace, leaving you to moan loudly as his cock nudged your cervix. “Don’t care, gentle can come some other time. Fuck, you feel so good…” you moaned as you met his hips with your own thrusts, taking over and setting the pace as you bounced up and down on his lap. “Love the way you think babe. Shit… tell me what you need sunshine” he said between pants and the sounds of your hips slapping together. “Need you, need you so bad John, please” you begged, trying your best to keep quiet but you both knew that ship sailed a while ago. Whenever your legs grew tired, he was there to grip your hips and help you move, making your eyes roll once again to the back of your head as you’d moan. When you would tip your head back, he’d lean his forward to catch one of your nipples in his mouth, sucking and licking at it to pull you closer to the edge.
He pistoned his hips up into you, all sense of restraint and control lost in the feeling of your gummy walls wrapped tightly around him. You gasped as you felt that sensation in your lower stomach again, getting tighter and tighter as he worked you both to your peak. “Yes! Fuck, so close, don’t stop!” You moaned, making him chuckle deviously. “Wouldn’t dream of it sugar, feel too good to stop” he replied through gruff grunts and soft moans into your shoulder before parting to look down to where your bodies were connected and watch as he disappeared inside of you. “Look at that, that’s a pretty sight” he said, praising the way you’d take all of him with ease and the way your thighs would jiggle as you hungrily bounced on his dick. His eyes raked up your frame to rest on your face, delighted to find your eyes rolled back once your were seated on him, then half lidded when you’d come up, and that happily little cock-drunk smile on your lips before it’d drop to let out a blissful moan. You were music to his ruined ears, and like the chems he took before this, he just couldn’t get enough. His thumb found your clit once more, earning a surprised jump and moan from you as he rubbed it to help you tip over the edge. He couldn’t just let himself cum before his girl did, what kind of man would that make him? Not a very good one at all, he reasoned. Before you knew it, you were toppling over that edge again, holding tightly onto him as your walls spasmed and fluttered around him before squeezing him tightly, making him moan as your release sparked his own. He moaned into your neck as you threw your head back with a lascivious moan, enjoying the pleasant sensation of him filling you up whilst his hands held you seated in his lap. You gave a contented hum, enjoying the feeling of being so full of love, of him. You smiled as he looked back up at you, kissing you sweetly and gently as if he wasn’t balls deep inside of you with his cum leaking down your thighs. He was a man of many capabilities, and certainly was one capable of making you happy in many different ways.
“And to think, I’d been missin’ out on all this this whole time” he joked, making you laugh as you got up to fetch a wet rag to clean yourself and him off with. “Well, now you know” you teased, a grin resting on your face as he snuck up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he hugged you from behind. He rested his chin along your shoulder as you stood in the connected bathroom, debating on whether you wanted to have a nice bath, or if you just wanted to lay in bed and cuddle with him to bask in the after glow. “Don’t know which is more addicting; you, or the chems” he said, knowing damn well that you were far more addicting to him but he enjoyed the playful way it’d get you to respond. “Tough competition, guess I’ll have to let you do me as often as the chems” you said, looking at him from over your shoulder and making him laugh at your dirty comment. “Don’t threaten me with a good time” he said, mischief evident in his tone as you felt something press against your rear. With the devious glint in his eyes and a grin to match, he led you back to his bed. Clearly he needed to test your offer.

At Xalroc's question of whether or not she knew the bank chairman, she kept her voice low as well ... with a hint of annoyance behind it. As the two walked briskly together towards their destination, the cat woman kept her half-veiled face forward. She could already see the small hanging sign with the name of the inn they were heading for.
"I knew him enough to know what a boorish and greedy git he was .. An' still is from the look of it" she answered. Her wintergreen eyes narrowed seeing that man's face flash in her mind.
However, when she heard Xal ask for forgiveness for being apprehensive before, the felinoid looked over at him thoughtfully. Her expression softened before shaking her head.
"You've nothing to be sorry for, Xal .... I was the one who initially insisted that we try ta do this trip discreetly ... But ... I couldn't just stand there an' let that man get away with treatin' those poor boys like that" Kitt began before letting her gaze fall a bit downward.
"I'm the one who should be apologizing, honestly ... Seein' me go against what I said and nearly pickin' a fight in the middle of the street like that ... You must've been a nervous wreck .... I let my anger get the best of me ... So, I'm sorry"
Once in the room, Kitt still held a bit of a face as she gawked at their temporary living quarters. It wasn't that bad, truly ... It was warm and clean, at least.
Feeling Xalroc come over and gently kiss her cheek made her blink out of her thoughts. She looked over at the silver-eyed man and softly smiled as he went off to hang his coat. The felinoid already knew well enough that he was very much the practical type and was never one to complain about something as long as it meets it's purpose. Though, in truth, she could totally say the same thing for herself.
After hearing Xal inquire as to why she chose this place to stay and that how it resembled her apartment in some ways, Kitt perked before turning fully towards him ... A somewhat shocked expression on her face.
"What?! ... It does not! .. My place is way better put together than this ... I mean, yeah, it can be a bit cluttered at times ... An' sometimes it gets a bit neglected when I don't come home for days or weeks on end ... But certainly never to this degree" the cat woman shot back in mild offence. She then let out a small huff before continuing.
"As for why this place? .... It's simply because it was closer to where we were .. Plus, small inns like this don't usually book up completely durin' this time of year ... 'Twas more for convenience than anything else"
Kitt closes her eyes, takes a breath and sighs. It had been a long day for them both and was glad to be able to take a rest after everything. Looking over at the small burner in the corner of the room, she makes a small side smile before walking over and placing a gloved hand to the side of Xal's face.
"Say! .. How 'bout I put the kettle on? ... I can get us both some tea ready while you go take a nice hot shower or somethin', yeah"
continued from here

The situation diffused, Xalroc breathed out a loud, audible sigh and placed his hand on his chest in relief. That could’ve gone farther south, he thought, and though he was up and ready to act as soon as things would have, he preferred not to attract any more unwanted attention more than they had at that moment. Though he knew Kitt to be quite capable, he couldn’t help himself. It was after all, much better to be prepared than to regret not doing so if things went from bad to worse. The light shimmering under the blanket of thick snow also faded, though prying eyes noted the snow-laden street surface shimmer silver for a couple of seconds. When push came to shove, subtlety wasn’t exactly a strong suit of his.
He sauntered slowly towards Kitt, bags in tow, careful not to get the attention of the two boys, whom he thought Kitt seemed quite familiar with. Having realized that, he kept his guard up. The tension might’ve dissipated, yes, but they still placed themselves in the center of attention regardless. As soon as the boys went on their way, the ebon-haired man suddenly, but gently placed his free arm round her shoulders.
Tumblr media
“I would think it is high time to move on, Kitt. I rather worry that more people might flock here given that the fellow you have rebuked was someone of importance.” He admonished her. “I trust you, but I do not trust the people around you well enough, I am afraid. I hope you would understand, love.”
Source knows what they would do if people caught wind of Kitt’s return; not only would they be in quite the pickle, but Xalroc would more than likely rid himself of his inhibitions for his belle’s sake. There was no way he’d allow the authorities to apprehend her and face that awful guardian of hers again.
Softly, he coaxed her to keep walking, as briskly as she could without garnering further attention, to what he thought was the road leading downtown.
“Kitt, dear, may I ask, how did you know that person was a bank chairman? And those boys… You seem to be quite familiar with them. Are they friends of yours?”
A number of questions swam through his head, wanting to ask Kitt as calmly as he could, simultaneously hoping and praying to the Source they weren’t too visible enough to be recognized.
-
Meanwhile…
“Dear,” a woman walking alongside her husband to the opposite direction suddenly piped up, “I know you I can’t help but think about what I just saw earlier… I could’ve sworn the snow was glowing silver!” she said with a gasp.
Her husband sighed, hoping it wouldn’t have to come to this, “Yes, I saw it too. But what good is it to wonder? That must’ve been one of the emporium’s flashy displays-“
“You know that’s not true, Harold. They never did a trick of that sort before. It sure seemed something… magical to me. And that woman what told off that bank manager, why is her face covered like that? It’s like she’s got something to hide under that scarf and hat…”
“Lillian, you’ve got to cut back on the eggnog. Yes, it’s the holiday season and yes, it’s the time for eggnogs, but it’s certainly got you seeing things.”
The woman stopped in her tracks.
“I’m sober, Harold. I don’t drink in the day, at least not more than a glass!”

JJK Boys getting accidentally flashed by their Girlfriend
Characters: Megumi, Itadori, Yuta, Noritoshi, Nanami, Toji, Naoya, Geto, Gojo, and Sukuna
Warnings: Implied 'nudity' cause, y'know, getting flashed. Naoya + Sukuna, Yuta’s turned out very detailed and warning for his cause curses are gross, mentions of injuries/implied blood, Noritoshi’s is eXTREMEly self-indulgent, allusion to sex in Toji’s and Sukuna’s but nothing explicit or suggestive (obviously), you guys are married in Toji’s, Naoya’s and Sukuna’s. Kids in Naoya’s, cursing in Sukuna's but I 'censored' it :)
**I write Naoya and Sukuna with some necessary changes, please hold your judgement☺ These are long but give it a chance-**
Fushiguro Megumi:
Due to his job as a student/Jujutsu Sorcerer, Megumi was usually pretty tired when you guys got to hang out.
So, the first thing you guys typically did when you met up after school was nap for a good hour or two.
Which worked out well for both of you since he finally got some rest and you got cuddles and a chance to play with his hair.
On this particular afternoon, Megumi had basically crashed the minute he hit the bed, you not far behind to lay on his chest while he zonked out on his back.
It had been just about 2 hours when he woke up, one hand going up to rub his eyes while his other arm wrapped around you to hold you tight.
You smiled when you felt him moving, turning ever so slightly to give him a small peck on his shoulder.
He smiled and turned to look at you, only to see that while he was sleeping you had changed into a loose tank top. A loose tank top that had...shifted, to give your boyfriend a view you had not intended to give him.
He was so flustered he didn’t realize how red the tips of his ears had gotten and how wide his eyes had gotten, not to mention the fact he hadn’t said a word.
Thinking he had fallen back asleep, you looked up only to see your boyfriend seemingly stuck in time as he looked at something.
Following his gaze you gasped, rushing to fix your shirt.
That seemed to snap Megumi out of his daze, that and your non-menacing ‘pervert’ you muttered, it’s not like you really cared (you were more embarrassed than anything) but the opportunity to tease was much too good to pass up.
“I- hEy! It wasn’t on purpose! You’re the one that flashed me…”
“I don’t know Megumi...you were awfully quiet for awhile there, didn’t even warn me😔”
You may or may not have gotten hit with a pillow following that remark.
Itadori Yuji:
You and your boyfriend Yuji were celebrating your two year anniversary, and this year you had both decided on going to an amusement park!
It was a pretty hot day, and you’d be walking a lot so you decided on a cute loose t-shirt and shorts and some walking shoes.
You guys had just gotten on this rollercoaster, and from the looks of it this one was going to be fast.
The ticking as you went up the first and very tall hill did nothing to quell the excitement/fear you were feeling, and it also did nothing to keep you from taking your boyfriends hand in yours.
After that first drop, it wasn’t too bad! But it was definitely on the faster side.
You guys were almost done, the end was in sight.
You turned to ask Yuji what ride you should do next when one sharp turn caught you off guard and flipped your shirt up into your face.
Right when Yuji had just so happened to have turned to talk to you.
Trying to ignore the utter shame you felt you tried to fix your shirt, your boyfriend then leaned over you to stop anyone from getting a peak as the car pulled back to the start.
You felt so embarrassed after it, but when you tried to apologize he just shook his head, gave you a kiss on your cheek and grabbed your hand to drag you off to the next ride.
Okkotsu Yuta:
**Unlike the others, this happened before the two of you started dating, you were still just really good friends**
You and Yuta had been sent out on a mission together.
You were a little nervous since it would be your first time going against a special grade, but you were confident you’d be able to do your part. Plus, having Yuta there was helpful in more ways than just his power.
The fight was a tough one, this curse you guys were fighting kept breaking the ground and shooting debris everywhere, it was easily blockable and it really wasn’t that dangerous.
But it did prove irritating.
Along with making tears everywhere in your jacket and skirt, you had been left with no choice but to kill the curse when it was up close and personal, so you were also covered in gross stuff.
To keep yourself from throwing up then and there, you unbuttoned your top and shrugged it off your shoulders, wincing at the cuts that had amassed during the fight.
You planned to quickly exchange it with the spare you kept in your bag, the debris had caused a bunch of dust which was acting like a curtain to shield your half-naked self from the eyes of the world.
But most importantly, from the eyes of your crush.
Unfortunately for you, your bag had gotten caught under a somewhat heavy piece of concrete.
Which would be no problem for you to lift if you hadn’t run through a fair amount of your cursed energy.
In your exhaustion, you must have made your struggle known with the grunts and obvious sounds of struggle you were making.
Yuta, who had a radar for you on anyway, heard this and started making his way over to you since he’s a considerate lad and you could be hurt!
You had just gotten it off the ground when it finally shifted enough for you to get your bag out, and you, being ever so coordinated, stumbled backwards.
Right into the open arms of Yuta, who immediately went red when he realized you were no longer wearing a shirt.
His jaw dropped as he tried to form a sentence, say something, anything to make sure you knew it was an accident.
Poor guy was so scared you thought he was a creep, he couldn’t look you in the eyes for almost 3 days.
That is until Maki locked you both in a room until one of you confessed💖
Kamo Noritoshi:
(This one may or may not be self-indulgent since I’m a clutz-)
You and Noritoshi had been sent to get something from the principal’s office by Utahime.
You were walking in front of him, paying little to no attention as to where you were walking as Noritoshi lost years off his life watching you stumble and almost trip.
So, okay, maybe you were a little bit clumsy, so what?
“Y/n, would you please be more careful? You’re going to fall.”
You turned your head to look at your boyfriend with an unimpressed look on your face, continuing to walk as he was even more on edge now that you definitely weren’t looking where you were going.
“Have a little faith in me, would you? I’m not that clumsy-” Just then, your foot caught a root perfectly, resulting in an untimely fall to the ground.
Which, thanks to years of falling face-first, you were more than prepared for.
Noritoshi, who felt his heart stop, quickly went to aid you, only to realize that your skirt had shifted with your fall, leaving you partly exposed to the world.
Partly exposed to him.
He quickly made his way to your side, helping you up as you laughed and dusted yourself off, noting the quietness of your boyfriend.
Usually when this happened, and he was quiet, you’d be in for a lecture.
But this time you noticed he was quiet...but he was also blushing.
You guys continued walking, you definitely weren’t complaining about not being told off, but you weren’t a fan of his silence. And...since when did Mr. Blood manipulation blush…?
“No lecture today?”
Noritoshi, who had been very deep in thought almost jumped at your voice, huffing as he tilted his head downward and picked up his pace a little.
“No tights today?”
You stopped at that because...he typically didn’t care what you wore, he was actually pretty laid-back except when it came to your safety.
“It’s August...so no?”
“Then i’d recommend you be a little more careful, had it been somebody else walking behind you, they would have seen something they shouldn’t have.” Your eyes narrowed at his words because...what was he talking about??
Sensing your confusion he turned towards you, eyes cracked open and a small smirk on his face. Leaning in close, he whispered.
“When you fell, your skirt lifted.”
And proceeded to walk ahead and into the principal’s office, leaving you in a whirlwind of emotions with no idea how to process them.
Nanami Kento:
You were over at Nanami’s place, in his kitchen cooking dinner with him.
You guys didn’t get to have dates often, but thankfully you guys both had tonight free. And seeing as you both have been busy, a home-date sounded nice to both of you.
Nanami was working on opening a bottle of wine while you were fiddling with the stove top.
Nanami had recently moved into this apartment, and it was really nice. But the oven was much different from yours, so it was taking awhile for you to get used to it.
You had finally gotten it on and you put the frying pan on the burner to heat up.
You turned your back to it and leaned against the nearby counter, appreciating the view you had of your boyfriend’s back and biceps.
It was safe to say you were distracted.
So distracted, that you didn’t notice that the shirt you were wearing had been just close enough to the burner that it had caught on fire.
You felt your hip getting a little warm, so you looked down and gasped when you saw that you were literally catching on fire.
You scrambled to rip the shirt off you, throwing it in the thankfully empty sink as you turned the water on, successfully avoiding a major problem and any serious injuries.
Shaking your head, you turned to your lover with an apology ready on your lips, only when you met his eyes, he quickly turned around.
Clearing his throat, he returned to his previous task of cutting the vegetables while he instead nodded his head towards his room.
“You can wear one of my shirts, they’re in the second drawer.” You nodded and made your way into his room, shaking your head to try and rid yourself from any further embarrassment and cool down your overheating face and neck.
Little did you know, Nanami was trying to cool down the burning red on his own face, as well as trying to focus on the vegetables.
Fushiguro Toji:
**In this you two are married and you’re Megumi’s momma**
You guys had recently adopted a cat from a nearby shelter, Toji didn’t want a cat, but between the puppy eyes of not only his young son but his wife, he was never walking out of the shelter without one.
Only, you didn’t walk out with one, since the cat Megumi chose was a female, and pregnant.
So now you guys have 4 cats.
Your kittens were older now, just about 4 months. So you and Megumi would let them out during the day (supervised and with their momma of course) and bring them back in at night. Toji didn’t really care what you did with them since they made you both happy (and it kept you both occupied-).
Toji had come home from a particularly grueling day at work, his shoulders were stiff and he had a small headache, and all he really wanted was to drag you to the bed so he could sleep on top of you while you ran your fingers through his hair and he could finally get some decent sleep.
Does he get that? No.
What he does get is you and Megumi yelling up the tree in front of your house for “Cat! Come down from the tree!” ‘Cat’ was the name of the kitten you and Megumi had forced Toji to name since ‘he had to have one too’, even though it was really just so he had no choice but to let you two keep them all.
Sighing he walked over to you both, ruffling Megumi’s hair and giving you a kiss before he stuck his hands in his pockets and asked the question he didn’t want, or need, the answer to.
“*sigh* what happened?”
Frowning, you looked back to the tree and pointed, revealing the small kitten who had managed to get herself, or himself he couldn’t remember, stuck on one of the lower branches.
“Well, he’ll come down eventually.”
You smacked his arm as Megumi’s eyebrows pinched together, little arms crossing in front of his chest, “It’s a she, daddy. And she’s just a baby! You have to get her down!”
Groaning he brought a hand up to rub his eyes, “There’s no way i’m getting up that tree, I’m way too big, and daddy’s tired”
Pouting, Megumi stood in front of his dad (Let’s say Megumi is 3~), little hands tugging on his pants leg, a little “please daddy?” coming from his trembling lips.
“No, daddy’s right, he’s too old to get in the tree,” You smirked at the glare you got from your husband, “But, if daddy helps me, I can get in the tree.”
So, that’s how you ended up in a tree, gently handing ‘Cat’ down to your husband, who quickly passed her down to Megumi, and found yourself struggling to get down.
You and Megumi had been out and about earlier, and you were wearing a comfortable dress that day, so being in a tree was less than ideal.
With the promise of Toji catching you, you jumped, not expecting the wind to carry your dress, and unintentionally giving your husband a show. Luckily, your son was much more interested in the kitten.
You felt your face heat up as you quickly fixed your dress, your husband just laughed with a ‘nothin’ I haven’t seen before babe’ which was quickly followed by an ‘ow!’ when you smacked him. </3
Zen'in Naoya:
You and Naoya were preparing to have dinner together.
He was sat at the table, finishing up some paperwork while you finished up the food.
Your 2 children, your 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter, were also sat at the table. Your children both telling their father about their days while he listened. (I know he’s literally awful, but if I can pretend Toji isn’t an awful father, I can pretend Naoya isn’t an awful person✌😌)
“And then, Momma told the guy off! It was awesome daddy!” Naoya raised his eyebrow with the smallest hint of a smile tugging the corner of his lip up. “Oh? Did he start crying too?” You gave your husband ‘a look’ while you walked to the table, setting the first dish down on the table before you turned to get another.
Your son giggled, “Like a baby!” Naoya chuckled, shaking his head as he took a sip of water.
He couldn’t help but think back to your younger days, specifically the day the two of you met when you told him off, the day you changed him, and finally the day you made him cry as you walked towards him down the aisle.
“I bet, Your mother has a habit of making men cry.” You sternly called his name from the kitchen as he snickered, your kids breaking out into their own fits of giggles.
You walked back into the dining room carrying in the last dish, shaking your head as you lightly bumped him with your hip as you passed him, him lightly patting your butt as you walked by. “Stop feeding my kids lies.”
He just smirked as he lifted his glass to his lips, he was in the middle of taking a sip when you bent down to place the dish on the table, your shirt dipping low to the point your chest was on show, giving your husband an, albeit welcome, unintentional view.
Choking on his drink, he set the cup down in favor of beating his chest with his fist, you coming over to rub his back, your children looking over in confusion cause...what the heck dad, that was weird.
“What happened? Do I need to get you a sippy cup?” Glaring at you he was finally able to stop coughing, you patting his back as you went back to your seat and sat down.
You raised an eyebrow at him, since he had still yet to tell you why he had suddenly choked on his water. But it was then you noticed just how red his face was, and how low his gaze was.
Looking down and realizing your shirt had drifted down, you fixed it and smirked, struggling to hold in the laughs and snorts that were sure to explode out of you.
Even after almost a decade of marriage, it was good to know you could still make your husband blush like a teenage boy.
Geto Suguru:
You and Geto had gone out on a date!
It was a nicer place, so you were wearing a cute spaghetti strapped dress with some nice shoes, and he was wearing a button down with slacks (sleeves rolled up to his forearms of course🥵).
You had just finished dinner and were now on the walk home.
All night you had been paranoid about your dress, you had gotten it when you and a friend had gone thrift shopping. It was honestly in pretty good condition, the only problem was that the dress’ straps had a good amount of wear on them, so the straps weren’t really that great, and you could feel them loosening as the night went on.
BUT, you were going home now, so it really didn’t matter much anymore.
Geto was lightly swinging your hands between you both as you told him the recent drama you had learned at work.
You were holding your uncomfortable shoes in one hand, and obviously Geto’s hand in the other, so your hands were occupied.
“You would not believe how messy that got. In case you ever think about cheating on me, just remember that man’s gonna be finding glitter in his car for at least a few decades.” Geto laughed as he shook his head, nudging your shoulder with his, “Good thing we don’t have to worry about that, I’m not dumb enough to cheat on my crazy girlfriend.” You made a ‘hmph’ sound and nodded, “Crazy for you~” and laughed when he shook his head.
You guys kept walking, discussing whatever topics came up.
You were almost home, so close to freedom. You called Geto’s name, about to tell him something you had remembered, when you both heard a faint *snap*.
Guided by the rush of cold air you felt hit your chest, you looked down and gasped, you would’ve been quicker to cover yourself except for the fact that both of your hands were occupied.
Working quickly because...you both were still in public, Geto let go of your hand and shrugged his jacket off, draping it around you and grabbing ahold of your hand when you were covered.
You apologized for flashing him and he shook his head, obviously it wasn’t your fault and it’s not like he was complaining.
Gojo Satoru:
Due to a particularly bad run in with a cursed spirit, your usual uniform was trashed, so you had to wear your backup uniform, which also ran small.
All day, you had been fighting with your skirt. It was too tight and too short, and was providing you with a substantial amount of stress.
It was lunch, you were half way through the school day, half a day away from going home and getting to wear your sweatpants.
“Oh Y/n~” Half a day from getting rid of the walking headache you called your co-worker.
Sighing, you stopped from where you were walking in the hallway, turning to face him you raised an eyebrow. “Yes Satoru?”
So, yes, you were ‘co-workers’ and yes, you were technically just friends.
But there was also a painful amount of mutual pining and tension that hung between you two.
“Hey, hey, what’s with the attitude? You’ve been like this all day, it’s gonna start hurting my feelings.” You grimaced as you once again adjusted your skirt, “Yeah, well, you’d be a little irritated if you had to keep fixing your skirt every 2 seconds.”
Gojo hummed, “I can imagine, so, care to join me for lunch?” You replied with a ‘sure’, and the two of you made your way to the teacher’s lounge, side by side.
You walked to the fridge and pulled out your lunch, Gojo not far behind you and you both did the necessary prep you needed for your food.
Gojo finished just barely before you, and was already sitting on one of the couches, happily digging into his food.
Once the microwave stopped you pulled your food out and started walking over to the couch.
You sat down, carefully, and began to eat your lunch.
Despite causing you mass amounts of pain and most likely a gray hair or 2, you thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Gojo, I mean, you were kinda in love with him.
“Ah, Satoru, Y/n, just the two I needed to see.” Gojo’s (likely inaccurate) account of his latest mission came to a pause when Principal Yaga walked in.
He had some information about a mission the 2 of you would be going on in 3 days. Apparently this one would be an undercover mission, and a few days.
During the conversation, Gojo (who tries to always have one of his six eyes on you at all times), had noticed your skirt riding up, and seeing as he liked you, the last thing he wanted was for you to embarrass yourself in front of you guys’s boss.
Keep in mind, it’s not like Gojo was having a great time either, you were sitting right in front of him, but it’s not like he could interrupt the principal and loudly announce you were about to expose yourself.
Thankfully, Kusakabe walked in at that moment, stealing just enough of his time for Gojo to catch your attention (like he didn’t already have it🙄) to mouth ‘Your skirt’ while he made a subtle tugging motion with his hand, going back to like nothing happened and stealing the attention of the men while you fixed your skirt.
That mission may or may not have preceded your first date with him.
Sukuna Ryomen:
You and Sukuna would be going on a date tonight, and you had spent the last half hour or so getting ready.
Your hair and make up was done, you had showered earlier, and all you had left to do was get dressed.
You had gotten dressed in your underwear when your mom had called.
You didn’t get to speak to you often and it had been awhile since you had talked, so you spent a good amount of time catching up and filling each other in on the things you had missed.
It had been about 15 minutes, you were sitting down at your vanity, pants on but still no shirt (hey man, a distraction is a distraction, let me have this i’m tired-).
You were so caught up in your phone call you hadn’t noticed that Sukuna had walked into your shared apartment.
He called out to you, but you didn’t answer. He would’ve been more worried than irritated if he didn’t hear you talking on what he presumed to be the phone.
If he knew you weren’t ready yet, he would’ve knocked, but seeing as you were on the phone, the last thing he expected when he opened your bedroom door was to see you half-naked sitting on your vanity stool like this kind of thing was normal.
“Sh*t. Warn a guy, will you? I’m not complaining but you near gave me a heart attack.” You screeched as you almost threw your phone, apologizing to your mom, you glared at Sukuna as he gave you a look that tip-toed between amusement and bewilderment.
“What, it’s not like I haven’t seen your-” You threw your pillow at him before he could finish his sentence, with your mom of all people listening to your conversation.
You two might have been married, but the last thing you needed was your mom pestering you about grandchildren again.
In case you’re wondering, he was laughing the whole time as you beat him with said pillow for saying those kind of things to your mother.

It’s nearly nightfall when Thor lands on the drive in front of your house.
His honeymoon haven, as he thinks of it often.
There’s hardly any impact from his descent, but what little there is kicks up a puff of dust despite the heavy gravel.
It crunches beneath his feet as he makes his way towards the front door. His boots fall heavy on the aged wood and before he can knock you’re there, pulling the door open.
You’re the most wonderful sight he’s ever had the pleasure of laying his eyes on. You’re perfection. Even tired as you look, eyes bloodshot, lips slightly off color, no glow in your cheeks or brightness in your gaze. You’re still the most beautiful creature in all of the universe.
He smiles at you but you stare at him stoically, then step aside to allow Dr. Wilson passage.
“Dr. Wilson,” Thor suddenly remembers sending her to be with you.
He smiles at her and she gives him one in return, albeit small and tight and it doesn’t reach her eyes.
“Your Majesty,” she curtsies quickly before turning to you and placing her hand on your arm. “If you need anything, you have my number.”
“Thank you, Dr. Wilson, I’ll use it if I have to. Which something tells me I will.”
“Are you not better yet, cherub?” Thor asks, worry creasing his forehead.
You don’t meet his eyes and he notices the way Dr. Wilson steals a quick glance at him before she gives you a curtsy too then moves around him towards the drive to a shiny silver car.
You step out to the edge of your porch, waving at the Doctor until she’s gone.
As you turn back to him, Thor breathes in deep, almost taking a step towards you to wrap his arms around you and kiss you and quench this thirst for you that has been growing larger and more demanding every day that the two of you have been apart.
Before he can, you point towards the doorway and move past him, “You better come inside. It’s supposed to storm tonight.”
“Storm?” Thor asks incredulously. “Shall I chase it away for us?”
You don’t answer him and instead walk into the kitchen, disappearing from his sight as you move around the counter towards the sink.
Thor hesitates, his heart dropping for the first time since he arrived. At first he merely thought you exhausted from your illness, but now he’s wondering if there might not be something more going on.
Are you angry at him that it took him so long to come and see you?
As he shuts the door then steps towards your coat rack, he hangs his hammer carefully before moving towards the kitchen no longer in uniform but in a plain gray t-shirt and dark blue jeans.
“Are you not well at all yet, cherub? Will you need more time away from home?” he stops by the edge of the island, his hand reaching over to poke at the smooth wooden counter nervously.
The longer you take to answer him, the more he thinks something must be wrong, beyond your falling ill.
There’s no possible way that you might have found out about-It’s almost too unbearable to think of but as you keep your back to him, hands calmly but with purpose filling your kettle with water and dropping tea bags into a pot, his stomach begins to churn.
“Y/N, if something is wrong, I-”
“I’m pregnant, Thor. I’ve known for a week. Since the day in your war room when you were telling Loki that you wanted to get an annulment so that you could marry Jane.”
Thor’s heart stops. Outside the storm grows nearer faster.
Any light left from the setting sun is snuffed out by the black clouds of thunder and rain that Thor’s panic pulls from the atmosphere.
“I was coming to tell you, but you left your door open. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop but then you said Jane was pregnant and for a moment I was hoping that maybe she was pregnant with someone else’s baby, but it didn’t sound like that’s what you were thinking so, I listened.
“My mind, at that moment, was a little foggy. You know? It took me a second to really think about what we could do. Because for me, I knew that even with this new hurdle, I wanted to overcome it with you. At your side.”
Thor watches as you step to the stove and light the burner, placing your kettle over it to boil.
His limbs are fuzzy, his mind a hive of buzzing bees and crackling electricity. His heart is still not beating but he can feel it breaking. Every fissure, every tear, he feels it from end to end. His mouth will not open and even if he had something to say, even if he could think enough to say it, you don’t sound finished and he will not interrupt you.
You move to pull two cups out from a cupboard and place one in front of the nearest stool to him, then the other on the island in front of the sink where you’ve been standing. You move the teapot over to the island too, then place both hands on the edge to lean all your weight against it.
Somehow, having you look at him is worse. He can see the heartbreak in your eyes, the betrayal. He can feel the anger surging beneath this calm exterior you’ve pasted on.
He’d rather have you rage at him, throw things at him, than see you keep your composure and think about this rationally. Because what can that mean? Have you given up on him? What does this mood of yours mean for your marriage?
“One of the first things I thought was that we should get Jane a room, or maybe a proper house where she and the baby could live because I could never keep you from your child. Not when they would be the rightful heir to the throne. And even if they weren’t going to be the heir, that baby would be your baby. Your child. So how can I ever keep them from you?
“I wasn’t exactly happy that Jane would be in our lives forever seeing as she is so openly…” you tut, looking up at the light fixture above as you search for the right word. “...not hostile. But she doesn’t like me. I could see it the moment she arrived but you seemed, I don’t know, oblivious of it? I’m not sure if that’s because it’s Jane or not, or if you seriously just didn’t notice?
“Every time we were alone, she always made sure to keep her distance. She never talked to me unless she absolutely had to, but as soon as you'd come into  the room she was all politeness and sociable,” you laugh without humor. “I still have no idea how you didn’t notice.
“It was sad, honestly. It made me sad, a lot. But I kept my mouth shut because you trusted her so wholeheartedly even though I could feel the snake she was. Maybe I shouldn’t be saying this, especially since she’ll be part of our lives now, but-”
“She won’t.”
You stop talking, fixing your piercing gaze upon Thor and all he can do is shake his head in rebuttal of what you just said.
“She won’t be part of our lives,” he continues, explaining himself as quickly as he can.
Now that he’s got a word in, he’s eager to tell you how silly all of this has been. How stupid and unnecessarily taxing the stress was.
“She’s not pregnant,” Thor smiles, and he is glad to see your relief.
It’s brief and subdued, but it’s a small sigh and a relaxing of your shoulders.
After a moment you take several steps back to lean against the sink.
“So we have nothing to worry about,” Thor continues, hoping to latch onto his spark of hope.
He rounds the island with godly dexterity but you take a step back, looking up at him with narrowed eyes.
Your anger is less hidden now, and he can see the outrage in your face.
He stops his pursuit to give you space.
“Is that supposed to make me feel better?”
Your demand confuses him. Doesn’t it make you feel better? It makes him feel loads, tons, millions of times better.
“I-” he begins confused.
“You were willing to leave me...to end our marriage, for a baby that hadn’t even been confirmed yet. You think telling me that Jane not being pregnant so now you don't have to erase our marriage as if it never existed is gonna make this better?!”
Thor is speechless, trying desperately to understand the problem, the confusion. Why are you still angry?
“Y-yes, my cherub. No baby, no Jane, no need to figure anything out,” he insists.
“YOU CALL AN ANNULMENT FIGURING SHIT OUT?!”
Thor winces, never having heard you this angry before. You’re livid and that scream is directed directly at him. It takes him a moment to regain some composure but when he does, he sputters to get his story out.
“I-I admit that perhaps the moment of my finding out about Jane was not my finest. I just learned that the once woman I loved was having my child and the scandal that would bring upon my people-”
You scoff and turn away from him, moving back towards the stove as a small stream of steam begins to rise. It’s not hot enough yet though.
Thor doesn’t understand. You know how life works. You’ve been there daily, watching him say and do things that he wouldn’t normally do. He’s being forced just as much as you are to deal with things, only his opportunities are much richer in variation.
“You’re angry with me?” Thor knows this, but something about saying it out loud hits him with a harsh sense of injustice. “What choice would you have had me make?”
You stiffen at his new tone. He can see the shift in your body, and he instantly regrets the momentary anger that boiled his blood.
The way your shoulders slump has his heart beating wildly with new panic. How does he fix this? How can he make this up to you? How can the two of you find some common ground?
“Not this,” you say, quietly.
Thor almost doesn’t hear you but only almost..
“Y/N…” his voice is softer, negotiating in an attempt to calm you.
The placating tone has the opposite effect on you.
“The one thing I asked you to do is to be honest with me. I asked you not to make a fool of me and you did it anyway. You lied to me-”
“I didn’t lie-” Thor begins, but he knows that omitting the truth is almost as good as. His voice trails off.
“Not only did you lie to me but-but when we took our vows, I thought-”
Thor clenches his fists, watching you struggle to overcome some emotion that he can’t see because you’re still facing away from him.
“I feel so stupid,” you gasp, and as your voice hitches, Thor realizes that you’re crying.
He rounds the island but you turn to look at him, throwing your arm out towards him, “No!”
He freezes, breathing labored as his stomach aches. His heart tears again, searing pain ripping at his chest.
It only feels worse as he gets a good look at your face, tears streaming down along your cheeks as despair washes over you.
“Don’t touch me,” you beg of him and Thor can’t believe you mean it.
You can’t mean it.
“The only thing I’ve ever wanted was to have a family of my own,” your words aren’t weak or stuttering now.
Your voice is strong and sure, the week of uncertainty having firmed your resolve.
What have I done?
“When you married me, when you accepted me as part of your house, I thought that I’d finally found that. Not just in you but in Loki and Hilde and Heimdall and the rest of our people. And in three seconds, you took that away from me.
“You abandoned me,” you declare and Thor can’t stay silent anymore.
“No! No, Y/N, I have not abandoned you. I’m here. I’m right here. I came for you. To take you home!”
“BUT YOU THOUGHT ABOUT IT!”
Thor can see the frustration in you, the utter befuddlement you must have felt, the betrayal. There’s disappointment and fear but most of all there’s loss. You’ve lost something this week, and even though he doesn’t know what it is for sure, he can guess.
“You gave the thought a presence and you meant it. You would have left me!”
“No!” Thor protests, an anguished cry of his own sorrow. A refusal of your conclusions.
“That’s what I was coming to tell you today. I woke up with the firm belief that Jane was still with child and as soon as it was confirmed, I was going to come and tell you that even with her carrying my child, you are my Queen.
“Nothing could ever change that and the only life I can imagine living is one with you at my side.”
You’re already shaking your head in protest, already disbelieving him. Thor attempts to step closer but you renew your extended arm.
“No,” you tell him firmly, voice low and quiet with resentment. “I need you to stay away from me.”
“You want me to go?!” Thor asks in pained disbelief.
You keep shaking your head, not answering his question.
The silence in the kitchen is heavy and to Thor, it feels endless.
Too few mornings flash through his mind of you waking beside him to turn and recount your plans for the day, your hopes for your lives together. You’ve always wanted to talk to him. You’ve always wanted to be with him.
His touch has never been unwelcome even in the first days of your courtship.
Your eyes are still flooding over, lips trembling, chest rising and falling with the effort of your crying.
His own body is still. This is the lowest he’s ever felt and he’s not sure what moving will do to him.
The quiet is ripped apart by the slow build up of your kettle’s whistle, but you don’t move to take it off the heat.
“Should I leave, cherub?” Thor asks again, his deep voice weak with emotion at the very idea that you’ll tell him to go.
You reach up to wipe at your cheeks, fingertips sweeping new tears away from the edges of your eyes as more rush to replace them.
You reach over and take hold of your elbow.
You’re thinking about it. You’re actually thinking about whether he should leave.
“No,” you finally whisper, unable to say it any louder he guesses.
It probably goes against every instinct in your body to allow him to stay.
Because he needs something to do, because he can’t stand there and just watch you hate him, he turns around and goes back around the island so that he can go to the stove behind you and move the kettle.
Thor watches you follow him with your eyes as he moves then take a step away from him when he slides behind you to get to the stove.
You move to take your seat at the island and Thor pours the heated water into your teapot.
He places the lid on top, the clink of the ceramic loud in your silence.
Your shaking hands give him worry and he moves towards the small pantry to pull a tin of cookies you’d bought in New York during your honeymoon.
You’d gone on and on about how much you enjoyed them and now that memory feels like a lifetime ago.
A happier one.
He moves around the kitchen taking a large plate and loading it up with your cookies. He grabs the milk from the fridge and pulls the artificial sweetener from the far end of the island to move it closer to you.
He’s aware of your eyes on him still, watching his every move with a gaze to rival Heimdall’s. He doesn’t try to dress his actions up as anything other than what they are; concern.
He places your cup closer to you, fills it with tea, milk, and your sweetener. Once done, he moves back around to his side of the island and takes his seat once more.
~~~~~~~~~~
You’re almost angry enough to be petty. You almost want to take your tea and pour it out. Just to show him how much things aren’t okay.
The way he’d walked in here, brazen and as if he hadn’t attempted to take the only true family you’ve ever known and erase it...you can’t.
More because you need to relax, in fear of the little life growing inside you, you take the tea and take a sip.
Thor knows just how you like it.
He’s watching you, staring. He's full of self-loathing and what you'd once thought was love for you. Concern emanates off of him.
He reaches out, and for a moment you think he might take your hand.
You flinch, pulling both your hands onto your lap, but Thor’s hand only meets the edge of the plate of swedish dream cookies you’d bought on your honeymoon.
He pushes it towards you, and your heart aches painfully. This agony is unbearable.
Your lip quivers again, unable to contain the sorrow of what your marriage is now facing. You know just as he does that you're at an impasse. Tonight things between you will change.
For the better? For worse?
Thor loves you. You can see that. You saw it the moment he showed up, smiling and so happy to see you that his electric blue eye was beaming.
It was that love that made you so angry. It’s why you shouted when you’d promised yourself that when he came, you wouldn’t raise your voice.
Heimdall had been nice enough to give you warning this morning that Thor would be coming today and that nothing would deter him from seeing you.
You’d been so angry when you’d gotten the call, but you’d talked to Dr. Wilson about staying calm and she'd pointed out that having all of these unresolved feelings would do the baby more harm than good.
While deciding to resolve this today, choosing to stay calm had failed dramatically.
“Please, love, eat something,” Thor begs. "You're shaking. I know you've eaten nothing all day."
How the hell can he tell?! Was Dr. Wilson spying for him?
Even she'd been unable to force more than a few bites of a sandwich into your stomach. You've been dreading this confrontation all day.
Now that it’s here, it's worse than you imagined.
You hate how much hearing the pain in his voice also hurts you. You don’t want to feel any kind of sympathy for him right now. After what he said…
You eat because you’re worried about the baby. Not because Thor is asking.
One cookie is enough to help your queasy stomach feel better, a sip of tea settles your frayed nerves.
You relax a little, the tension in your body partially gone.
Neither you nor Thor say anything for a while and you’re grateful for the silence. You need lots of time to think.
While you think, you eat.
Cookie after cookie as your stomach groans in relief of finally being fed. Not exactly nutritious but it's something.
Despite your body's reaction to the unexpected junk food, the revelation that Jane isn’t pregnant after all is the only thing that you can really focus on.
You'd know she would try something. Not this though. You'd expected a pass at Thor. You'd expected her to try and get him back and you'd been so sure about his feelings for you that you'd been sure nothing would happen.
You hadn't expected her to find a way to reach in and pull it all up by its roots.
Finally, Thor clears his throat. There's and eager shine to his eye now, curiosity needing answers. In this moment you realize that his mind is filled with something else. Something much happier to think about that while it does bring you joy, you can’t share in that joy with Thor yet. Not after everything.
“Is it true?” he asks, the corners of his lips curved and the set of his brow eager. He can't help it. “Are you really pregnant?”
You meet his gaze and reach up to wipe the last of your tears away.
“I’m about three months? A little over. It would have happened during our honeymoon.”
Your explanation brings a smile to his face and he’s so beautiful you find yourself hardening again in defense.
"Your Asgardian blood was making it difficult for my doctors to confirm the pregnancy. The first was negative. The second, inconclusive, but then negative. The third was also inconclusive but this one didn't change to negative so they tried some other things and it finally showed positive.
"They tested my blood over and over. It’s real."
This is what both of you have been wanting since before you were married. You’d wanted to give him an heir and he’d wanted one. You’d wanted to start a family and he’d been desperate for the same.
This is the moment the two of you have been dreaming of and now that it’s here, it’s nothing like you’d pictured.
The joy you’d felt on your trip to the war room to give him the news is lost on you now. Tainted.
“Are-are you not happy?”
“How can you ask me that?” you frown, hostile resentment tainting your features.
He deflates at your tone and you almost regret letting how you feel show so openly.
Almost.
Thor’s face pales and he looks down at the island, his own cup still empty.
Because you do feel bad, though you don’t regret letting him know how angry you are, you get up and pull a beer from the fridge.
Placing it in front of him, you take your seat again.
Thor’s face floods with hope.
"The only reason you're here is because Heimdall knew you'd come. He saw that you were decided and would stop at nothing to come here but if he hadn't given me the warning, you'd be standing outside on the porch banging on the door asking me to let you in. You need to know that.."
Even though the hope in his eyes had made you so angry just a moment ago, as it disappears, you feel a surge of grief.
"I don't understand," Thor begins softly, both hands reaching across the island towards yours wrapped securely around your tea cup. "Why are you so angry, cherub?"
He's not putting it together? Does he seriously not see how what he did is a problem?
"I've told you that Jane is not pregnant so there will be no child and even before I'd found out, I had made my choice to stay with you. These are good things, aren't they?"
The wonder in his voice is real. The agony of his confusion is real.
Somehow you need to make him understand.
You scoff, trying hard not to be cynical after the blow you've taken to your pride.
"Do you remember the day we got married?"
"Vividly," Thor nods and attempts a smile.
A quick stern glare from you settles him down.
"Do you remember welcoming me into your house? Do you have any idea what becoming a member of your family has meant to me?
"I have lived my life alone, Thor. I had no one. From the day my parents died to the moment I agreed to marry you, there was not a single person who I belonged to who also belonged to me.
"Marrying you gave me a home. It gave me people to call my own. It gave me a kingdom full of loving and loyal subjects.
"Marrying you took my loneliness and destroyed it. I had a brothers, sisters, and a husband who I thought loved me as one of his own. I thought you had accepted me as part of your family until the day I died."
You sigh, voice tight and always on the verge of breaking into tears.
"I have, cherub. You are my everything!" Thor’s interruption doesn't phase you this time.
You keep talking as if he'd said nothing.
"And when I've finally done it, when we've finally got what we wanted, you throw me away."
"No!" Thor rises and moves around the island towards you.
This time you don't stop him because nothing he says or does will change your mind. Nothing will fix this.
He sweeps you into his arms, pulling you close so that you have to look up at his face from your spot in your seat. His massive hands caress the sides of your face as his pleasant warmth chases away the horrible nightmares you’ve had all week.
But his arms, his touch, can’t chase away the break in your heart. It can’t fix the pain that feels etched into your veins. Your sinew is rewritten with the agony of his fleeting choice to leave you. Nothing will ever be the same.
“I didn’t throw you away, I was confused. I didn’t know what to do or what the best course of action was. I should have come to you. I should have told you about Jane and I should have consulted with you, my wife, my Queen before making any rash decisions.
“I know that I did wrong, but believe me when I tell you that I love you more than my own life. I can’t imagine my life without you, cherub. I’m sorry that I have caused you such distress. I am sorry that I made you think, even for one second, that I could make my way through this existence without you.
“I love you. And I am never letting you go.”
Your heart is unmoved. Even as he stares down at you with his eye clear and sure. The set of his jaw is firm, and his hands keep stroking your cheeks, temples, and scalp as you watch the fire in him fade.
Slowly, he realizes that the damage is done.
It takes him a long time. His body falls, shoulders slumping, arms not so tight around you, hands a little more gentle. It’s the set of his lips that tells you when he’s accepted it. That he’s broken you and your marriage and there is no repair here.
Not now.
“What will you do?” he asks, hands gliding down along the sides of your neck, shoulders, arms, and elbows where he finally lets go and moves back around the island to take his seat again, throwing himself down in defeat as his hand wraps around his beer.
“I’m still your wife, Thor,” you sigh, turning to look at your cup of tea. “I am still Queen of New Asgard. I’ll do my job as best as I can, from here.”
“Here?” he asks, shocked.
“I can’t go back to the palace. Not right away. I need...I meant it when I said that I needed a break.”
“From me?” Thor guesses, and you can see his heartbreaking.
“From us, yes.”
“How long?”
“I don’t know,” you shrug. “A few weeks? Months? Years?”
He looks more devastated the longer you speak.
“I don’t know how long it will take me to trust you again. When you told Loki that you’d get an annulment and make me out to be the problem by my not giving you any kids, you took any faith and confidence I had in us and your love for me and flushed it down the toilet.
“I can’t just pretend that didn’t happen. Even though we have nothing to worry about now, I can’t just forget the way I felt. I’m gonna need time.”
The war raging within Thor right now is painful to watch. You can safely assume that he’s almost refusing to go another day without you, much less weeks, months, or years.
You can also see the regret he’s feeling. The anger. It passes quickly though, and Thor takes another long drink from his beer, draining the bottle before he sets it aside.
He reaches up to wipe at his fuzzy lips, his beard scratchy as he breathes in deeply.
He meets your gaze and nods, “I will give you whatever you need. I will send you a guard. I don’t want you here alone.”
You’re not about to oppose the protection. Not with the baby on the way.
“You should probably make the announcement of the baby. And give some excuse about me staying away. Our people deserve to know. They’ve been waiting too.”
“Mm.” Thor agrees. “What shall I tell the others?”
“Loki already knows. He’s known since I came here.”
“What?!”
“Hey, no!” you frown at him, anger tinging your words. “You can’t be angry at Loki for doing as I asked. I’ve been alone up here waiting to know whether you’re going to leave me or not. He only did what I needed.”
Thor’s anger passes through him in phases. In seconds, he’s calm again, but still breathing through flared nostrils.
“Why did you not tell me? If you’d told me sooner-”
“If I’d told you sooner then I wouldn’t know if you were with me because you love me or because the baby was finally coming. I didn’t want to live the rest of my life never knowing whether your sticking by me in this marriage is because I was finally having our kid. That’s not the kind of life that I want for myself.
“I’m not sorry that I didn’t tell you, Thor. Because even if I can’t trust you, at least I know whether you’d decided not to leave me before you knew I was pregnant.”
Thor’s face is full of sorrow. He’s coming to terms with everything as quickly as he can since you’re not giving him much choice. Are you wrong to put some distance between the two of you?
Should you forgive and forget?
Part of you, the part that loves the man you married, wants to reach out and touch his cheek. You want to tell him that you love him and that nothing will ever change that. You want to celebrate the future you have growing inside you and revel in the fact that Jane’s lie is over and move on with your lives.
The bigger part of you can’t trust his words. Can’t trust his touch. In a few moments, Thor had torn apart the truths of every caress and declaration that he’d made since you got married.
The bigger part of you knows that you can’t trust him. The bigger part of you knows that he could hurt you again. He might very well rip your heart in two for good the next time, and what kind of life can you have like that?
No. As much as your heart loves him, your brain is telling you to play this cautiously from here on out.
“I’ll come to any functions I need to. I’ll make sure I’m there on your arm. But don’t expect things to be the same between us Thor.”
He nods in defeat, “Can I fix this? Is there anything I might do to prove to you that my love is real?”
“It’s not a question of me not believing that you love me,” you explain, sighing lightly as you come to these realizations yourself as Thor makes you face the inevitabilities you’ve been avoiding all week.
You’ve tried hard to keep from pondering the future with or without him. Now that he’s asking, you can’t avoid it anymore.
“I know that you can’t put me before your throne. I know that your people have to come first. I’ve known that since I married you and when I talked to Loki and David about what happened they both told me what I already know.
“You have responsibilities to our people first and foremost and any choices, whether you want to make them or not, are made for them. I can never be first for you. I know that. My mind knows that. It’s honorable that you will always do right by your people.
“But my heart can’t accept that,” you’ve been trying to keep from crying again but as you admit your insecurity aloud, your heart clenches painfully drawing from your eyes a welling of tears. “Because I’ve fallen in love with you completely, Thor. I never knew that loving someone could be this terrifying and painful. Just the thought that you’d decided to make our marriage disappear as if it had never happened ripped me to pieces and I don’t know how to come back from that.”
You sob and Thor leans over the island to take your hand. You don’t pull away this time. You let him give you this small bit of comfort because you need it. Your heart, the fact that he wants to touch you, needs it.
“Even if it was only for a moment, you left me. I want to be first for you. I want to be the only thing that matters. And I can’t be. And I know that. Which makes me feel like such shit because I shouldn’t be asking you for this. I know that you can’t give it to me.
“It’s why Jane told you no. Along with her job, I know that it’s the reason that she couldn’t marry you. She knew that for you, she would always come second to New Asgard.
“I knew that too. When I agreed to marry you, I knew that you’d have to do things for them first. But I love you so much and I-it sucks that I know now if you have to choose between me or your people, you’ll choose your people.
“It’s right. You should. But it fucking sucks and it hurts too much.”
You’re full on crying now and Thor gets up, but you raise your hand to stop him. With a shake of your head he sits back down.
“So…” you sniffle. “What you can do for me is give me the distance I need to work through this. I need to come to terms with the fact that after our baby is born, I’ll be third. I need to just learn and accept that no matter how much you say you love me, you can never choose me.
“Can you give me that? Can you give me space?”
As you meet his gaze, his intense unrelenting stare, you can see him warring with himself. You can see the confusion and the indecision. You can see the agony of what you’re asking of him but somehow he manages to nod.
His own eye waters and after a second nod, his tears spill over to trail across his cheek and lose themselves in his beard.
“I’m sorry, cherub,” he grieves. “I never meant to hurt you like this.”
“I know that, Thor. But I have to find out how much of myself I can invest in our marriage. Because if loving you like this means I have to feel this kind of pain over and over again, I don’t think I can keep loving you. Not like this.”
Your words hurt him and you regret them, but you can’t take them back because they’re truth. You need to guard yourself and you aren’t going to apologize for putting yourself first when no one else in your life will.
The silence is never ending.
The two of you sit sniffling at the island for what feels like hours. Finally, your stomach rumbles loudly and Thor springs up from his seat to the fridge.
He starts pulling out an array of ingredients that you don’t pay too much mind to.
He fills the house with the smells of chicken, paprika, rosemary, lemon, and some other spices you can’t pick out. It makes your stomach growl more loudly and at least with his mind and hands busy making your dinner, he stops crying and that at least gives you a little bit of a break from the horror you’ve been feeling at causing him so much pain with your choice to distance yourself from him.
“Might I stay the night?” he checks, surprising you a bit by the question.
“On the couch,” you whisper, unable to speak any louder.
The idea of him sleeping in the same space but not next to you is unbearable, but somehow you find a way to deal.
His hand stutters over the pan but after a moment he goes back to cooking.
“The couch is fine,” he agrees. “Whatever you need, love.”
And even though his words tell you he’s fine, you know him well enough to recognize the depression in his stoic gaze.
Part 2 Part 4
=====================================
After that night, Drew and I spent every waking moment together…
I couldn’t get enough of him, he was so incredibly sweet to me, and the biggest teddy bear. He will never admit this, but he loves being the little spoon. The past two months we have been dating have honestly been the best days of my life.
However, people seemed to have a staring problem when we were together on campus. Drew paid no mind to it, his eyes either on me or talking to one of his teammates. They constantly teased Drew about how he hasn’t shut up about me since he first saw me our freshman year, and it seemed to have become worse now that we were together. I thought it was adorable, but Drew’s cheeks always turned a deep shade of pink anytime it was brought up.
“Baby it’s cute,” I told him one day as we sat in class after we had escaped another round of his teammates teasing him.
“It makes me sound like a creep,” he protested, arm slung behind my chair that he had scooted as close to him as possible.
“No it doesn’t, it’s sweet.” I pouted, reaching out to rub his cheek.
He leaned his elbow on the table, head resting in his large hand. His eyes swept over me, causing my thoughts to become self conscious as I squirmed in my seat. I looked everywhere but at him, turning back to face the front of the class. I saw him in my peripheral leaning towards my ear.
“You look so beautiful today.” He whispered, kissing my cheek. I flushed as I looked down at myself, wearing one of his sweatshirts and a pair of leggings with my hair down in its natural state, and minimal makeup with my glasses perched on my nose.
“Drew...I literally look like a trash can.” I chuckled, glancing at his almost hurt expression.
“Stop that, you’re hot as fuck.” He smirked, pinching my thigh playfully.
I giggled as I pushed his hand away, instead he intertwined our fingers and kept them on top of my thigh. Drew glanced to see if the professor was paying attention before quickly placing a kiss to my lips, taking me by surprise. I blinked in shock, looking over to my giant boyfriend.
“What was that for?” I asked, still shocked.
“Just ‘cause I wanted to kiss my beautiful girlfriend.” He shrugged, winking before turning back to listen to the professor.
=====================================
Drew lived in the dorms on campus, meaning no privacy if we ever wanted to hang out. This made me very appreciative to my parents that helped me find the apartment I have to myself. In the last few months, Drew had practically moved himself in.
Of course I didn’t mind at all...he was good eye candy. Besides that, he actually helped around my apartment which I found odd since no guy I know would voluntarily do the dishes or run the vacuum. It honestly made me fall even harder for the basketball super star.
“Hey baby, holy shit it smells amazing in here.” Drew called, walking in my apartment from practice.
I was occupied in the kitchen, whipping up some dinner for the both of us. Drew sat his duffel bag by the washer, no doubt more clothes in it that he needed washed. The washer and dryer on campus was outrageously expensive, and since I have a washer and dryer I just told Drew to bring his clothes here. Drew walked up behind me, wrapping his very sweaty body around mine.
“Drew go take a shower, you’re ruining the aesthetic.” I huffed, trying to push his arms from around me, but he was too strong.
“Well excuse me, I have not seen my girlfriend all day and I would like to love on her.” Drew said matter of factly.
“You see her everyday,” I giggled, they intensified when Drew started placing ticklish kisses on my neck.
“I know, but I didn’t see her today.” He pouted, his large frame completely engulfing mine.
“Well you smell like shit, so off to the shower with you.” I ordered, shooing his hands away that seemed to have traveled back to my ass.
“Fine, fine you win this time.” Drew sighed, laying a smack to my behind before disappearing down the hall.
=====================================
Drew came back a few minutes later, fresh out of the shower in just a pair of basketball shorts hung low on his hips. It took everything in me to not jump him right then and there, and he knew it too by the look he gave me.
“See something you like princess?” He asked smugly, flexing his muscles on purpose.
“No,” I quipped, turning back to turn the stove burners off since dinner was done.
Drew snatched my hand, yanking me to his chest. I gasped, placing my hands on his abdomen to keep me from falling. He circled his arms around me, one hand staying on my waist while the other tangled into my hair. I moaned softly when he tugged on the strands a little, his smile bright at my reaction.
“I think you saw something you liked sweetheart,” Drew smirked, eyes falling to my lips that were slightly parted.
“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t.” I teased, the hands I had placed on his abs beginning to wander. His fist tugged my hair harder, my teeth biting down on my bottom lip to stop the squeal I was about to let out.
“Such a brat,” he growled, his blue eyes darkening.
“You love it though, don’t you baby?” I grinned, tracing my fingertips along the waistband of his shorts.
“Fuck yeah I do,” he said as he leaned down to smash his lips to mine.
I finally let out the moan I was holding in, my hands moving to thread them through his damp hair. I let my tongue out to play with his, both of us fighting for dominance over the other. He ultimately won, but not willingly on my part. Drew’s big hands gripped my ass cheeks in a death grip, a slight grunt passing his lips as he used his hold to pull me in closer.
“Th-The foods gonna get cold,” I panted as I pulled away, chest heaving.
“I want to kiss you,” Drew stated, leaning back down for another kiss.
“But-baby-Drew-“ I tried, but was interrupted as Drew kept kissing me.
“Eat later, kiss now.” he mumbled against my lips, my smile growing as I gave in to his request.
=====================================
“So there’s a frat party this weekend, and I was really hoping you would be my date.” Drew spoke as we cleaned up the kitchen.
“Sure, I’ve never been to a frat party,” I shrugged, handing him another dish to dry.
“You’re not missin’ much trust me.” He chuckled.
“Then why do you want to go?” I asked, genuinely curious.
“Because now I have a beautiful woman to show off.” He winked, making my cheeks flush.
“You think you’re smooth Starkey,” I laughed.
“Oh I know I’m smooth baby, that’s how I landed such an amazing girlfriend.” Drew smiled, leaning down to kiss my red cheek.
“Yeah sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.” I dismissed, rolling my eyes playfully.
“You help me sleep at night gorgeous.” he smirked, leaning down to kiss my cheek. I shoved his head away with my wet hand, giggling as he looked at me like I had ruined his favorite jersey.
“What are you gonna do about it Starkey?” I taunted, beaming as Drew picked up some of the water and splashed me.
“That’s what smartass,” he countered, laughing as I gasped when the water hit me.
“Oh it’s on,” I grinned evilly, throwing more water at him.
Drew and I continued our little splash fight until my kitchen was covered in soapy water, Drew holding on to me so I didn’t fall but also so he had the advantage to get my hair and clothes soaked. I tried to get away, shoving at his chest, but to no avail he kept me in his arms.
“Drew stop!” I squealed, his laughter making my heart flutter.
“You asked for it!” he shouted, squeezing a rag over my head.
“You better clean up this mess mister!” I yelled, giggling as he picked up a few more soap bubbles to put on my face.
“Now this, this is sexy.” Drew chuckled, my eyes rolling as I hit his chest playfully.
“Stooooop, now I need to go shower.” I giggled, leaning my head back to look at him.
“I should join you, ya know to make sure u get all the soap out.” He grinned slyly, hands traveling over my form.
“In your dreams Starkey,” I whispered, kissing the corner of his lips before heading to the shower.
“Brat,” he growled, his eyes glued to me as I walked away.
=====================================
The one thing I loved the most about Drew is-
Wait...did I just-did I just think love?
Wow...I couldn’t tell you the last time I had that kind of thought…
Anywho, Drew wasn’t one of those guys that pressured sex. The past few boyfriends I had always made me feel like I just had to give in, like it was my duty as a woman to please them.
Sure Drew and I loved to tease each other, but he made it very clear that we were on my terms when it came to anything sexual. I’d be lying if I said that didn’t make my heart flutter. I truly, truly felt like Drew and I could last, or at least I hoped to.
“I want you to feel completely safe with me, no rushing or jumping into anything you’re not ready for.” He explained, snuggled up against me in my tiny, queen size bed.
“I do feel safe with you teddy bear,” I grinned, his eye roll at the nickname making me laugh.
“I mean in the sense of talking about anything and everything, no lies, and no secrets.” He continued, gently brushing his finger along my features.
“I can do that,” I agreed, running my fingers through his hair.
“You-You don’t feel pressured to do anything just because I insinuate it right?” He questioned, a frown forming on his beautiful face.
“No baby I don’t, I know you’re just teasing, and I like it. If I didn’t, I would tell you.” I reassured, kissing his nose to which he smiled at.
“I’m in for the long run sweetheart, you ready for that?” He smirked, his arms going around my back to pull me impossibly closer.
“I am,” I said nervously, feeling a lump in my throat.
“Good, because I don’t plan on going anywhere and I won’t let you push me away.” He revealed, my heart thumping a million miles a minute.
“Drew,” I whispered, feeling my whole body flood with emotion.
“I feel different with you y/n, like everything feels so real. I-I’ve never felt the way I feel when I’m with you.” Drew confessed, my eyes filling with happy tears that I forced back down.
“I feel that way too teddy bear,” I smiled, slowly caressing his cheek.
Drew leaned forward slowly, kissing my lips gently. I threaded my fingers in his hair, smiling into his kiss.
“Thank you,” he mumbled into my lips. I pulled back a little, looking at him confused.
“For what?” I asked.
“Taking a chance on me,” he smiled, kissing me again.
I deepened our kiss, feeling my body ignite with fire and passion. Drew’s hands stayed firm, one underneath me threaded into my damp hair, and the other on my hip. His fingers felt the curve and dip, squeezing lightly which made my heart flutter.
I had one hand holding his cheek, the other making its way from his hip bone and slowly creeping it under the wife beater he was wearing. I felt the ripple of muscles on his abdomen, tracing under his pecs. Then I felt my way to his back, smoothing my hands up and down as our kiss intensified.
Drew abruptly sat up, yanking the fabric over his head then tossed it on the floor. My chest was heaving from lack of air, his doing the same. I grabbed his shoulders, pulling him to hover over me as I laid on my back.
“Drew?” I panted, pulling away to look into his eyes.
“Yeah? Am I going too fast?” He asked, his eyes filling with concern.
“No, I just wanted to tell you that-that I want you to touch me-like...everywhere.” I stammered, my cheeks heating up slightly.
I didn’t wait for his response however, reaching for the back of his neck to bring his lips back to mine. Drew moaned softly, sending shivers down my spine. It was the sexiest sound I ever heard, and I wanted more.
His hands explored more of my body, taking both my breasts in his large hands. I wasn’t wearing a bra since we were originally planning to go to bed, so he was pleasantly surprised to not feel the cups of the bra.
Drew grazed his thumbs over my nipples, a gasp flying from my lips as the exquisite feeling went straight down below. He moved his kisses down my neck, softly stroking my nipples that pebbled through my shirt. I let out a moan of my own when he gently sucked on a spot behind my ear, leaving his mark on my untarnished skin.
“More,” I whimpered, moving one leg between his so I could grind my lower half on his thigh.
“Ask nicely,” Drew murmured in my ear, and I could feel his smirk against my skin.
“Let me have it,” I demanded, but my brattiness only got me a low growl from Drew.
His hands came to my hips to stop my movements, a child like whine leaving my throat. I tried to fight his grip which only made his hands hold me tighter.
“Brats don’t get what they want babygirl, you know this.” He reprimanded, laughing maliciously as I struggled to free myself.
“Please,” I muttered, giving in.
“What was that?” He teased, a frustrated groan escaping as I tugged at his hair.
“Please Drew, please I need more.” I said a bit louder, a satisfied hum from Drew as he helped guide my hips to grind against him.
I could feel his hardened member against my thigh, Drew’s low grunts in my ear making me even more hot as he was getting off just as I was. We both rutted up against each other, moans and whimpers from us filling the room.
“Fuck this is so hot,” Drew moaned, making my head nod in agreement. His blue eyes almost black from lust, pupils blown wide as they stared into mine.
“Feels so good baby,” I replied, my eyes closing as I could feel my release coming.
“I’m gonna cum, fuck.” Drew growled, grinding both of our hips faster.
“Me too,oh my god.” I gasped, my clit throbbing against his thigh.
My back arched as my orgasm crashed down, stars flooding my vision. My nails dug into his shoulders, his head falling in my neck as his hips stuttered and his movement halted all together. I could feel the wet patch against my leg, making me smile slightly as I gasped for air.
We laid there for a minute, not moving from our position other than Drew dropped to lay on top of me. I combed my hands through his now sweaty hair, his lips placing gentle kisses on my neck where his head was currently buried.
“I need to change my pants,” Drew blurted, a giggle bursting from my lips.
“I need new shorts,” I smirked, shuffling a little on the bed.
“Can I tell you something?” Drew questioned, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
“Of course you can babe,” I chuckled, gently caressing his cheeks.
“I’ve been dying to know what you taste like,” he blurted, my eyes widening and teeth sinking into my bottom lip.
“Maybe you could have a sample,” I said barely above a whisper.
“Can I?” He asked, fingers dragging down my stomach.
I nodded, keeping eye contact as his hand dipped in my shorts. He scooped up my cum, being careful to not touch any sensitive areas. I stared downwards as his hand ascended to his mouth, sticking his two fingers he used inside. His eyes closed as he sucked his fingers clean, letting out a spine chilling moan that made me want to strip and let him have his way with me.
“How was it?” I smirked, eyes still connected with his mouth.
He took his fingers from his mouth, wiping them on my shirt. I could see his tongue moving around in his mouth as if he was trying to savor every last drop. His eyes met mine, a sly smile forming as his lips came closer and closer to mine.
“Delicious,” he murmured against my lips, and I leaned the rest of the way to connect them.
=====================================
I met Drew at the frat house on Saturday, it was a pool party so I was a bit hesitant to be around everyone in a bikini. Drew was very convincing and talked me into just wearing it under my clothes so that if I didn’t want to I didn’t have to. I chose a higher cut bikini to show off his favorite body part of mine with a more plunging neckline. I wore one of his basketball shirts with his name on the back tucked into some distressed jeans with flip flops.
“Hey baby!” Drew greeted, already in his swim shorts which hung low just enough to make every girl here wonder what’s underneath.
I smiled wide as I came closer, his adorable grin making my heart soar. I was surprised though when he reached me and bent his knees with his hands on my hips to pick me up. I squeaked a little, not expecting it, but I liked it. I wrapped my legs tightly around him, holding onto his shoulders. I was even more surprised when he leaned in and kissed me in front of everyone.
“That was some greeting Starkey,” I giggled as I pulled away, wiping some of the lip gloss that had smeared off his lip. His big hands squeezed my ass cheeks, another round of giggles erupting.
“I like the ass L/n,” he commented, winking as he kept his hold on them.
“I like the muscles baby,” I said as I felt his broad shoulders and chest.
“You look so beautiful,” he murmured, tightening his hold on my ass.
“You’re too sweet teddy bear,” I gushed, pinching his cheeks.
“Damn bro, how your arms not broken?” One of the frat brothers asked, my heart stopping as I looked from him to Drew whose expression morphed into one of anger.
“Drew,” I warned, but he ignored me and sat me back on my feet.
“What the fuck did you just say?” Drew questioned, shoving me behind him. I grabbed his hand and used my other to grab his bicep, not wanting a fight to break out.
“I’m just sayin’ man she thick and all but damn.” The boy scoffed, looking me up and down behind Drew.
“Insult my girlfriend again, I fucking dare you.” Drew taunted angrily, taking a step closer. I pulled on his arm, hoping to get his attention back to me.
“Drew it’s ok, he was just dropped on his head as a child and doesn’t appreciate what a real woman looks like.” I sassed, raising a brow at the boy.
I didn’t give him a chance to reply however, pulling Drew towards one of the pool chairs. I stripped my clothes in front of him, his eyes widening at the sight of my bikini. I smirked as his eyes traveled up and down my body, lingering on the curves of my hips. I turned around to purposefully give him a view of the back, my heart jumping at the curse that left his lips.
“What?” I asked, grinning when his eyes snapped back to mine.
“You’re...you’re stunning, absolutely gorgeous.” he breathed, his hands coming to wind around me and pull me to his chest.
“I figured you’d like it,” I shrugged, his head shaking as he smiled down at me.
“Let’s get in,” he chuckled, intertwining our fingers and pulling me with him to the pool.
=====================================
The frat brother that felt the need to make that comment earlier kept eyeing Drew and I, making him tense up against me. I moved to stand in front of him, wrapping my arms around him.
“You should have let me deck that guy,” Drew grunted, his hands going to my hips to pull me closer.
“He’s not worth it Drew,” I sighed, placing my hands on his cheeks and gently pull so his eyes would come back to mine.
“I don’t like it, he had no right.” Drew huffed, scrunching his eyebrows.
“Let’s not think about it ok? I want to have fun with you.” I smiled softly, getting up on my toes to kiss him. Drew flashed a small grin, holding me closer to him.
A little while later, the frat guy was completely forgotten. Drew and I were completely wrapped up in each other. We couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves which earned lots of stares from the other girls trying hard to get him to look their way.
Drew pulled me to a corner of the deep end of the pool, Drew being so tall his shoulders were still above the water. He wrapped my legs around his waist, but his fingers stayed wandering on my private area of my bikini. I gasped in surprise, looking around to see if anyone would notice.
“Don’t start something you can’t finish Starkey,” I grumbled, gripping his biceps.
“I’m not doing anything babydoll,” Drew said innocently, but with a shit eating grin on his face.
“Drew,” I whispered, his fingers moving my bikini bottoms to the side.
I stared deep into his eyes, blinking rapidly as his fingers slowly caressed me. I bit down on my bottom lip, trying hard to conceal my moans.
“So pretty,” he murmured, leaning to place a gentle kiss to my lips.
The moment was ruined however when some of Drew’s teammates yelled for him.
“Hey yo Starkey! Wanna shoot some hoops?” they called, Drew turning to look at them before back to me.
“Go on, I’ll be here.” I said, already missing the feel of his fingers as he moved my bottoms back.
“I won’t play for long ok?” he smiled, giving me a gentle kiss before heading out of the pool.
=====================================
I couldn’t help but stare the way Drew moved as he played, his coordination so flawless. He was going places, that I was sure of. Other girls of course walked by him, making sure they were in his line of sight with their tiny bikinis that barely left anything to the imagination, but Drew didn’t spare them one glance.
As soon as he was done, he came to the edge of the pool and jumped back in. I turned my face away giggling, beaming as he resurfaced so his face was right in front of mine. I returned to my earlier position with my legs wrapped around him, a mischievous act forming in my brain. I trailed my fingers down his abdomen and lower, tracing the band of his swim shorts. I bravely grabbed his halfway hardened dick, feeling it pulsate in my hand.
“Baby,” he growled, his hands gripping my hips tight.
“Hmmm?” I questioned, batting my lashes at him.
“Quit,” he griped, but made no move to stop me.
“I think you like it though sweetheart,” I winked, palming him a bit harder.
“I don’t want to get out of this pool hard as a rock.” Drew groaned, throwing his head back before coming back to meet my eyes. Our moment was yet ruined again by some of the cheerleaders.
“Hey Drew come dance with us!” they giggled, he went to respond until I squeezed him dick harder.
“Sorry ladies, he’s taken.” I fake smiled, waving my free hand at them. They glared at me before scurrying off, my attention turning back to Drew.
“So possessive,” Drew teased, his hands moving to squeeze my ass.
“You love it,” I giggled, taking my hand away from his member to wrap them around his neck.
“It’s sexy as fuck,” Drew nodded excitedly, leaning down to plant a sweet kiss to my lips.
After a moment of us just staying like that, the party started to die down.
“You ready to get out of here babe?” Drew asked, my head nodding as I was eager to have him all to myself.
“Let’s go home,” I murmured, squealing moments after as he carried me out of the pool and to the pool chair where our stuff was sitting.
This giant man of mine just may be the key to mending my broken pieces...
Okayu
Tumblr media
Category: Family Fluff
Fandom: Haikyuu!!
Characters: Atsumu Miya, Osamu Miya
“Go away.”
Well, that certainly wasn’t something Atsumu expected to hear first thing in the morning. He raised his eyebrows, knuckles still resting against the bedroom door. Osamu definitely wasn’t someone he’d call a “morning person,” but he’d never just told Atsumu to go away. Curious now, Atsumu narrowed his eyes suspiciously before lightly rapping his knuckles against the wood again.
“Didn’t you hear what I said? Buzz off, ‘Tsumu. I don’t feel good.”
From behind the wood, Atsumu could hear his twin brother’s agonized tossing and turning and twisting in the sheets. Whatever it was, it was clearly tearing Osamu up. Atsumu’s hand fell to the doorknob to give it an experimental twist, and he found it unlocked.
“‘Samu, I’m coming in,” he announced and opened the door immediately after, and he was met with his brother angrily spitting curses and complaints at him from within his cocoon of blankets. Atsumu ignored his brother’s ire to march up to the bed, yanking the hood-like bit of comforter draped over his brother’s head to find his face flushed and sweaty.
“What part of ‘buzz off’ was difficult to understand?” Osamu grumbled while Atsumu laid the back of his hand against his brother’s sweat-slicked forehead, nearly recoiling from the intense heat simmering off the reddened skin. Groaning, Osamu ran shaky fingers through his damp clumps of dusty-brown hair, scoring grooves as the strands stuck together. “I’ve got a cold. Just let me sleep it off.”
“You’re running a really high fever,” Atsumu retorted and walked across Osamu’s room to the adjoining bathroom. He flipped open the medicine cabinet to rummage through the various bottles until he found some fever reducers. He filled the cup sitting by the sink faucet with water before carrying both back to Osamu, who was just watching him with a grumpy pout. “Mom and Dad are workin’ today, so that means I’m gonna take care of ya, ‘Samu,” he smiled and handed his brother the cup of water and two pills.
“You? Take care of me?” Osamu grunted, raising his eyebrows as he popped the two white pills into his mouth. He continued to stare disbelievingly at his twin over the rim of the cup while he downed the water, making Atsumu sniff slightly in hurt. “I’m always the one who ends up taking care of you, ‘Tsumu, because you can’t even take care of yourself. How are you gonna take care of me?”
“I can do it!” Atsumu insisted hotly. “It can’t be that hard! Now, what do you want to eat, you bastard?”
With a small smile on his thin lips, Osamu tilted his head to the side in thought.
“Well… Some okayu would be nice.”
“I should have known, ya damn rice fiend,” Atsumu snorted. “All right, okayu it is. I should be able to figure out how to cook it.”
“Wait, you’re going to cook?” Osamu cried, his eyes flying open in shock. He began bundling the blankets around himself and then started wiggling out of the bed.
“Oi! What the hell do ya think you’re doin’?” Atsumu exclaimed while his brother was worming his feet into the house slippers by the side of his bed.
“I have got to see this,” his brother grinned, though it wasn’t very snarky considering his face had completely changed color and was now an ashen white. Atsumu groaned and slapped a hand to his face, but he knew better than to try and talk his brother out of it.
“Whatever, but no backseat cookin’, or I’m knockin’ yer ass out, ya hear me?” Atsumu warned with a stern point of his index finger, and Osamu just waved dismissively while laughing. Wrapped up in his thick comforter, he waddled like a penguin after Atsumu while he headed to the kitchen, rolling up the sleeves of his sweater. He whipped out his phone while flicking on the kitchen light, searching up a recipe for okayu. After deciding on one he liked, he set his phone down on the counter and began gathering up the ingredients.
He washed the rice and then placed it in a pot. After adding three cups of water, he set it on the stove to soak for half an hour. While Osamu vegetated in his barstool, Atsumu went about doing his morning exercises in the adjacent living room, stretching until he worked up a bit of a sweat. When the timer went off, he walked back to find Osamu with his forehead pressed down against the counter, dozing.
“Rise and shine,” Atsumu chuckled, tapping his brother on the shoulder. Osamu raised his head, the imprint of the tile bright red on his forehead, and blinked blearily at his brother. Chuckling, Atsumu walked back to the stove to get the okayu started.
He stared at the options for a minute, blushing under his twin’s amused stare, before finally figuring out which ones to push to turn on the burner and set a time. When he glanced back at Osamu, who was sitting at the kitchen bar looking like a potato with that cocoon of blankets around him, he was leaning his cheek in his hand and smiling in amusement.
“You’re gonna have a hell of a time if it took you that long just to figure out how to use the stove.”
“Do you want food or not, ‘Samu?” Atsumu retorted hotly. “You’re givin’ me an awful lotta lip while I’m doing something nice for ya!” Osamu threw up his hands in surrender, and while grinding his teeth, Atsumu snapped up the scallion and slammed it down on the cutting board. He picked up the knife, then, very carefully, began to chop it into small chunks. They certainly weren’t as pretty as Osamu’s, with his cuts uneven and sometimes diagonal, but hell, it would serve its purpose just fine.
After setting the scallions to the side, he poured some sesame seeds into a little bowl to use later, then got out their jar of umeboshi. He still had a fair amount of time left on the rice, so he walked over to the counter, where Osamu was watching him in sleepy contentment.
“Jeez,” Atsumu huffed, reaching out to feel his brother’s face again. It was slightly cooler, but still warmer than he would like. “How careless of you, ‘Samu. I’ve never seen ya this sick.”
“Well, there’s a first time for everything, I suppose,” Osamu just hummed, leaning his cheek further into his hand while his eyes drifted shut. “But I suppose I’m a bit lucky. Now I have my dutiful twin to take care of me,” he added with an amused purr, cracking an eye open.
Atsumu replied with a sniff, “Don’t thank me yet. I very well could fuck up something as simple as okayu.”
“Yes, you could,” Osamu laughed. Atsumu rolled his eyes as he walked back to the stove to check the water. It was boiling now, bubbles bursting at the piping-hot water’s surface, so he turned the heat down to low and covered the pot. The rice had to cook for thirty minutes and then steam for another ten, so Atsumu moved his brother to the living room, putting on his favorite show— on the cooking channel, of course. Osamu stretched out on the sofa with the blankets wrapped around him, a sleepy and content smile on his face. He dozed off again while Atsumu flitted about taking care of random chores, so Atsumu had to shake his shoulder to wake him up again when he was finally ready to present the bowl of warm osayu garnished with scallions, sesame seeds, and umeboshi.
“Well, it at least looks edible,” Osamu joked as he dragged himself into a sitting position, and Atsumu plopped down into the loveseat with a disdainful huff, holding his own bowl of the rice porridge. He waited to eat his, though, until his brother spooned a mouthful of it into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully. “Could use a smidgeon more salt,” he said— and Atsumu rolled his eyes because of course it wasn’t good enough— but then smiled warmly at him while saying, “But it’s good, ‘Tsumu. Thanks.”
“Yeah,” Atsumu just huffed and spooned a huge mouthful of the osayu into his mouth. Well, he thought it was fuckin’ fantastic, he tried to convince himself even though yeah, it could use a little more salt. He watched the chef on the television through lidded eyes while he chewed the rice porridge, but then he couldn’t help but break into a self-satisfied grin. “So, not bad for my first time cookin’, eh?”
“Not bad,” Osamu agreed, snuggling back against the couch cushions while he continued to eat Atsumu’s creation. “Don’t let it go to your head.”
“Too late,” Atsume grinned through the rice stuffing his cheeks, and Osamu just snorted. He was smiling more now, Atsumu noticed, and he looked more like his normal color. “Feel better?”
“Loads,” Osamu hummed. “But of course, how could I not when my brother’s done such a good job of taking care of me?”
“Aw, ‘Samu!” Atsumu preened, and Osamu squawked in alarm when he jumped off the loveseat to scramble onto the couch with him. Atsumu wriggled under the comforter despite his twin’s protests, resting his chin on Osamu’s shoulders while he batted his eyes pleadingly.
“Ugh, fine, but don’t come crying to me when you catch my cold,” Osamu warned. Atsumu smiled just in time for his twin to sneeze right in his face, and while Atsumu disgustedly wiped the snot and spit off his face with the blanket, Osamu cackled raucously.
“You did that on purpose!”
“No I didn’t!”
“Ewwww, ‘Samu, you sneezed gross rice all over me! Ew! Ewwwwwwww!”
Osamu just continued to howl with laughter. Well, Atsumu supposed as he wiped the gross slimy rice chunks off his face, At least he’s feeling better. He’d prefer his brother sneezing in his face rather than roiling in bed in the thralls of a painful cold. Even if it was the grossest thing ever, and he did in fact end up catching Osamu’s cold. That was okay though, because his twin was more than willing to make him some nice hot okayu to make him feel better.
Emily - September - October 1944 Emily’s mind was with Nixon as she quietly crept down towards the kitchen. He had looked so disheveled wandering the halls like a madman. Emily worried that he was struggling to sleep again. She flicked on a small lamp just inside the kitchen. It provided enough light to guide the kettle. Within a moment Emily stood beside the stove waiting for the water to boil. She wanted to be careful to pull it off the burner just before it whistled. The last thing she wanted was to wake the entire house of officers before they left England for good.
A slight draft blew through the window panes just above the sink and Emily was glad she had thought to bring the tartan blanket from the foot of her bed. As she waited, she peered out the window expecting to see nothing but black. Emily imagined all the creatures that may be roaming about in the night. She had seen plenty of deer, rabbits, and even a few foxes since coming to Aldbourne. Instead of woodland animals, Emily made out the faint silhouette of someone sitting on the bench only a few yards from the manor. She squinted through the pane wondering if it was one of the officers. A speck of orange illuminated the raven night and Emily recognized the posture of the man smoking. She knew that figure, she had sat beside him for hours. Emily pulled the kettle off of the stove and filled two mugs. Clutching her blanket with one hand, Emily balanced the steaming mugs against her chest. The ceramics weren’t hot through the wool blanket but she walked quickly outside anyways, afraid the tea would cool once it hit the night air. “Hey Joe,” Emily approached Joe Toye, adjusting her grip on the mugs. It was chilly outside, but not so cold that the blanket wouldn’t suffice for warmth. The bench Joe sat on was perfect for over looking the low swooping valley below. Emily could smell the smoke from his cigarette who’s tip glowed each time he sucked at it. “Am I disturbing you?” She asked. “Emily, hey,” Joe hardly turned to look over her shoulder, “nah, take a seat.” Emily circled the bench and sat down beside him gazing off into the darkness. She held out one of the hot mugs, “tea?” she asked. Joe grimaced, but accepted the cup, “I don’t know why the tom’s are so moony over this stuff,” he said taking a tentative drink. Emily chuckled, “you don’t have to drink it.” “Eh it’s okay, thanks,” Joe flicked his cigarette to the ground. “So what’re you doing out here?” Emily asked. “I don’t know, just couldn’t sleep.” “Feeling anxious about tomorrow?” Emily kept her voice gentle. Something about Joe allowed her to immediately let her guard down. She felt totally comfortable around him but that didn’t mean he was comfortable around her. “A little bit, I don’t know.” “That’s reasonable to feel that way,” Emily said. She didn’t want to push him. Joe exhaled deeply. They sat in companionable silence for a while. A breeze rattled the leaves in the trees as if warning them of their fate. Emily much preferred the cold to the heat. She was perfectly content cocooned in her blanket with the cool air turning her cheeks red. “Would you call me a coward if I told you I was scared?” Joe’s voice was husky. Emily looked at him in surprise. “Not at all Joe! Not one bit.” Even in the dark Emily could see Joe’s Adam's apple bob up and down as he swallowed. “Is there something specific you’re worried about?” Emily asked gently. “I don’t wanna let anyone down,” Joe confessed into the night. “Joe, why would you say that? You’re not going to let anyone down. You’re one of the best soldiers in Easy Company.” Joe chuckled humorlessly, “I have a hard time believing that.” “It’s true,” Emily kept her voice low, “ask any guy here. You’re the one they want in their corner. You’re the one I want in my corner.” Emily wasn’t just saying that to make him feel better. She had gotten to know Joe well since Normandy and there were few people in the world she trusted more. Joe was the kind of guy who would be there for you without question. “Ugh,” Joe groaned. He ran a thick hand across his face. “Fuck. Sometimes I don’t know what I’m doing here, why I deserve to be with the best of the best.” Emily’s heart ached for him. She knew exactly how he was feeling. There were few feelings worse than doubting your own place. It was incredibly lonely. “Because you’re one of the best,” she said firmly. Joe laughed bitterly but otherwise accepted her compliment. “I honestly wonder what I’m doing here sometimes too,” Emily admitted. “Yeah?” Joe looked at her properly for the first time all night. “Yeah. I came over here a completely different person and now,” she shrugged, “now sometimes I don’t know who I am or what I’m doing.” “You’re the map girl,” Joe said matter-of-factly. Emily laughed, “oh is that what I am?” Joe allowed himself a little smile, “I mean that’s what we call you. That’s one of your nicknames at least.” Emily’s mouth dropped in mock shock, she was curious, “What? How did I not know I had nicknames! What else am I known by?” “You really wanna know?” “Yes!” “Mrs. Nixon.” A shiver ran through Emily’s body and her face grew hot. “Sorry if that embarrasses ya,” Joe said. “Why Mrs. Nixon?” Emily tried to keep her voice light. “You know there’s a real Mrs. Nixon right?” Joe shrugged, “yeah, but you’re like Captain Nixon’s work wife. You guys are always together workin’ on somethin’,” he said innocently. Emily’s muscles relaxed slightly at his explanation. “I prefer map girl,” she said. “Yeah me too, you got me all set up for Normandy.” “I’m glad you made it back,” Emily said sincerely. They exchanged a look that only two people who had been to hell and back could interpret. “Yeah,” he said. Emily inhaled deeply, pulling as much of the outside air into her lungs as she could. “I’m going to go back to bed. You should probably think about getting some sleep too.” “Yeah,” Joe said morosely. His thousand-yard stare was back, “yeah.” “Okay Joe,” Emily patted him tenderly on the shoulder, “good luck tomorrow.” “‘Night.” Emily made her way back to her bedroom where she fell into a restless sleep. The journey to Holland was much more grueling than the trip to France had been. The action was less concentrated and it took weeks for Emily to be reunited with her paratroopers. Operation Market Garden had gone poorly and her route was diverted towards Arnhem rather than the over-ambitious point across the Rhine. The 101st had managed to secure a few bridges and roadways but the initial encounter near Eindhoven had resulted in Easy Company’s retreat. When Emily finally reconnected with the 101st in Schoonderlogt she sought Nixon out for instructions. He and Winters were standing outside of the building where Easy’s second platoon was bunked up. She noticed the spot of raw red flesh on Nixon’s forehead as soon as she saw him. “What’s that?” she demanded, “wait and why do you smell like urine?”
Nixon shot Winters a dirty look but didn’t offer any explanation. Winters retold a rather jarring close call Nixon had outside Eindhoven. As Easy Company moved to retreat a bullet ricocheted off his helmet, leaving behind a burn at the top of his forehead. For all intents and purposes, Nixon was fine. He had only been left with the small red scar which was expected to fade away. Nixon thought so little of his brush with death that he had the gall to be annoyed with Winters for informing Emily about the incident. Winters, cool as ever, was uninhibited by Nixon’s attitude and explained matter of factly how shaken both he and Nixon had been in the moment. “I’m fine, it’s fine. It’s not some dramatic war story!” Nixon protested. “No,” Winters conceded, “I’m just telling her how it happened.” Emily tried to match the candid energy of the men but deep down something stirred in her: panic. She wanted to scold Nixon for not retreating quicker. She wanted to ask him so many questions like if the burn had caused him any pain. What would she have done if the bullet had penetrated the metal? She would’ve lost him. It was in that moment she realized she would not be able to cope if he had been killed. “I’m fine,” Nixon repeated firmly, looking directly in her eyes. Emily cleared her throat, “I know. You’re standing here aren’t you?” “Exactly. Plus, you’re lucky you didn’t make it here earlier. 2nd and 3rd Battalions’ C.P.s were hit in force. Major Horton was killed.” “What?” Emily asked in shock, her stomach rolled with fear. “Yeah, glad you weren’t working when the Germans hit,” Winters added. Emily had missed out on so much. Obviously, the army had gotten her over as quickly as they could but she wasn’t priority personnel and the roads were difficult to travel. She cursed her femininity. If she had been a soldier she would have been able to slip back to 2nd Battalion with greater ease. Every day throughout her journey she had encountered men who were AWOL from the hospital, trekking back to their companies, and it didn’t take them nearly a month. “By the way, Em, I think we’re gonna need you later. Dick and I have got to go meet Strayer and I’m sure he’ll have a project for me,” Nixon said. “I’ll be at HQ anyways,” Emily said, “I have some things to set up anyways.” Nixon nodded at her, “thanks.” He and Winters jumped in a jeep and drove off. Emily took the chance to take in her surroundings. Everywhere around her soldiers were bustling about unloading trucks and dodging jeeps. The dirt roads were sodden with mud. Emily looked down at her boots. This wasn’t the first time she was grateful that they were part of her uniform. She began to make her way down the road past thatched grooves and stone buildings. As she walked she made various plans in her mind for what she wanted to get done once she made it the Battalion HQ. It was difficult reconnecting with her team after so much time apart. There was no saying what they had started working on, and Emily had little clue as to the recent developments in their corner of the war. The first couple of hours would inevitably be spent playing catch up. It was an extra hurdle for her to overcome, all because she would never be authorized for jump training. Let’s keep the bitter thoughts to a minimum, she chided herself. There was no place for negative thinking in a war zone. She made it to the command post to find it bustling with officers. Colonel Sink was barking orders in the background. Emily slipped in as inconspicuously as possible and found her way to a side room where other intelligence staff members were working. “Hi Larkin,” she said to a young S-1 working over an open chest. He was pulling out stacks of papers and re-arranging them on a nearby desk. “Hi Miss Rooney,” he briefly looked up to greet her. “What’s the most recent status on things?” she asked him. “Um, we’ll be in this area for a while. Patrols are being sent out to monitor the area while we get situated. A few have already successfully taken some key crossroad points.” Emily nodded, “thanks.” Larkin was concise. It was enough information for Emily to begin to work off of. She located a map of the area and began to review the intersections surrounding Schoonderlogt and outside of Arnhem. “Has anyone been tracking what’s been secured?” Emily asked. Larkin handed her another version of the map she was looking at with few places marked in red ink. “Thanks!” Emily accepted the map. “Okay,” Nixon clapped his hands together sharply, announcing his entrance, “we’ve got some work to do. We’re assisting the British Lt. Colonel Dobie here with rescuing a bunch of his men.” Lt. Colonel Dobie stepped in behind Nixon. “Where are they?” Emily asked looking up from her map. “15 miles north of the river.” Emily tracked the map as he spoke, “Easy company will meet them on the riverbank with boats.” “What do you need from us?” Emily asked Nixon. “We need to pinpoint where exactly to place the boats. Also, we need to take a look at the enemy dispositions and area maps.” Larkin directed Nixon and Dobie to the dispositions as Emily sat by feeling somewhat useless. She hadn’t yet familiarized herself with this intelligence room and she couldn’t help but feel somewhat embarrassed that she wasn’t the one confidently assisting Nixon. She could not afford to slip, not now. The rescue mission, known as Operation Pegasus, was more than successful. It took three trips but Easy Company was able to get all of the Brits across the Rhine without incident. That night Emily could hear the men cheering from the long thatched building down the road. The allied men were celebrating another day of life in their godforsaken world and it made Emily smile to think of their joy, no matter how fleeting. But tragedy struck soon after. A jumpy private shot Moose Heyliger while on guard. Welsh had arrived at the scene. The day after the event Emily could tell Welsh was shaken. His face was gaunt with exhaustion and worry. Emily’s first instinct was to comfort him, at least in the way she would have before Normandy. But Nixon’s words from months ago rang in her head. Since then, Emily had become self-conscious of her friendship with Harry. Heading Nixon’s words she had distanced herself somewhat from the engaged man; not that he really seemed to notice. And to her surprise, she hadn’t really missed him. He was still a happy face to see around and she felt an obligation to be there for him in moments he was hurting. But she had realized that she didn’t crave his company, no more than she craved George’s or any of her other friends. Welsh was nice to have around but Emily didn’t pine for him like she thought she should’ve if she were truly in love. The weeks passed and the weather grew colder in Holland. One day Emily was reviewing the allies' advance deeper into Belgium when a quick question came up. She decided to seek out Nixon to see if he could help direct her. He wasn’t in his office so she walked down the hallway to Winters’ office which was her best guess as to where Nixon might be. The glass-paned door was open but she could hear voices conversing inside so she hung back. The office was occupied by more than just Nixon and Winters. A moment later, Bill Guarnere exited the office and Winters assistant closed the office door.
“Hiya sweetheart,” Bill said as he passed her. Emily smiled warmly at him then moved to approach the door. As she drew closer she could hear Nixon and Welsh conversing with Winters. “I’m outta here, I’m going to Rheims.” She heard Welsh’s voice through the thin door. “Strayer will be in London for at least another week for Lt. Colonel Dobie’s wedding.” Nixon was speaking now, “I personally am heading back to Aldbourne to look up a certain young lady.” Emily’s stomach sunk with Nixon’s words. She hadn’t realized he was still in touch with the woman he had been seeing in Aldbourne. There was no explanation for her feeling but the idea of Nixon traveling so far back to see his lover filled Emily with rage. What was he doing wasting his time on that woman? He was married for christ’s sake, why was this woman worth compromising that? “May I help you?” Winter’s assistant asked. Emily looked at him blankly, “uh, no, actually, never mind.” Clutching her pad folio closer to her chest she turned on her heel and marched back down the hallway.
Hi~ this is my first ever ask so I hope I'm doing it right lol
Hug prompt 6 or 16 for dragon and wolf? Whichever one you like more (:
(Or both I wouldn't mind)
Why, hello! Another FRIEND has entered the spire of which I live! >:D And you wish for the dragon and the wolf to be mushy with each other? Ohhh, I can oblige!
(Sorry this took so long! I had to sit on the idea for a little while! <3)
***
We're gonna go with 16. ‘not wanting to let go’ hugs for this one! :D
Fane was never overly affectionate, and Solas could confidently say he wasn't, either. Years upon years of disconnection from beings capable of such gestures made one...no longer yearn for a brush of hands or a simple hug. Fane's was more complicated, however, body scarred and aching, mind associating gentle touch as if it were a firm slap. He knew this and he respected his dragon's want for space, always asking for consent unless Fane reached out first. It wasn't like they didn't touch; they did. They had their moments, and most of those moments happened in...well, the bedroom; afterglow or not.
Such as now, the both of them situated on the bed, but not in the way most would believe when they were caught casually walking, side by side, in the Great Hall; unassuming minds and nattering mouths awash with impurities.
"Are you certain you're comfortable, vhenan?", Solas asked softly as he idly flipped a page of a book he was reading. Even when 'retired' for the eve, there was still secrets to unfold, information to compare to memory.
"I'm perfectly comfortable.", Fane mumbled from where his face was currently buried in Solas' shoulder; his dragon having taken place behind him, arms firmly, but gently wrapped around his middle as long legs caged him in, knees bent.
Solas chuckled. "I will take your word for it.", he said, instinctively reaching up with one hand to tenderly ruffle a white cloud of hair; his eyes never leaving the page of his book, smile quiet just as the air around them was. "Even as it seems your neck is groaning from such a position."
"Hmph.", was the only response he got, strong arms tightening a hair, pulling his body closer to the one behind.
The action and continued warmth against his back had Solas letting out a contented, quiet sigh, actively finding himself melt into the wall of slender muscle behind; his head resting against the side of Fane's buried one, but still keeping his gentle focus on his reading. These were the moments that no one else saw or even imagined them having, so certain that with how they acted and spoke with each other that they were engaging more...physically. While at times, they did engage in a more...primal sense, it was not all they did. Those acts were cherished, nurtured every time they occurred, like a gentle flame that wished to blaze high, but was kept to an ember for more tender, focused warmth.
However, another type of warmth had Solas letting out another sigh, eyes fluttering shut as a slightly wider smile formed upon his lips, book going limp in his hand, the one in Fane's hair stilling to hold the head it was attached to. He felt lips, careful, slow, tender and hot, brushing, trailing, and gliding along the column of his neck. A firmer one against his pulse had Solas leaning his head into Fane's more, seeking the butterfly heat like a beacon. It would appear his dragon was attempting to build the fire of passion, and truthfully, Solas wanted him to, knowing it had been over three months since the hearth was stocked.
"Fane..", Solas breathed out around a chuckle as another kiss against his pulse had him drawing up his own legs, fingers curling into snowy strands.
"Hm?", Fane hummed in question, but did not stop, did not pause in his stoking, but his arms drew him closer, unwilling to let go, to lose the logs he was attempting to ignite with flaming lips.
"I believe now..", Solas trailed off as squeeze of arms and light nip had him gasping quietly, body shuddering like electricity had struck it before he continued; his voice more strained, the tone dropped. "...would be the time to position yourself more comfortably." It was a prompt, a beckoning call, but the dragon he voiced it to seemed unwilling to listen; his lips traveling and flying with slow kisses, deep kisses, burning kisses.
"Not yet..", Fane murmured against his neck before resuming his kisses, pulling his body closer to where Solas was practically slumped against him, cheeks flushing, ears twitching, and breath quickening from the smoke of desire. "I want to hold you for a bit longer.." The statement a quiet, deep plea, begging for consent with rolling thunder and growl of another being.
Solas couldn't help but smile despite the smoke choking his mind further, tightening his lungs and making him shift subtly against the furs and silk of the bed--their bed--as the striking of lips like flint upon tinder stoked the flames within higher and higher. For a being that could not desire, could not even dare such a thing, Fane was incredibly versed in seduction and how to best invoke it, but his dragon was also soft and caring when he wanted to be, even amidst lust and passion.
Solas could feel it in the kisses upon his neck, his pulse, that were firm, tender, but caring, a light flick of a tongue soothing where a nip was perhaps a bit too harsh for the bearer's liking. He could feel it in how strong arms, bounded with leather and cloth, desperately clung to him, but how idle thumbs would stroke where they could reach in a soothing, caring manner as if to relax him, to tend the flame and guide it gently to its full roar. He hear in it in the quiet sighs through an elegant, deep breaths sounding after as the owner took in a scent that would otherwise turn their stomach; magic.
Yes, Fane was versed in passion, in desire, even as his draconic nature, for all intents and purposes, could not revel in such things, but he was more versed in soft care, in tender guidance. And Solas adored that contradiction with all his heart, with all his spirit as he leaned back even more, resting a hand upon one of the chains around his middle.
"Hold me as long as your heart desires, ma'isenatha.", Solas whispered, voice shaky, but highly content as he kept his eyes shut, basking in the guidance offered to him with a tender smile and heated cheeks. "I am yours." The declaration was soft, sweet, but held depth they both knew all too well, and he knew that with the way kisses halted, arms squeezed lovingly, and a ghost of smile pressed against his neck.
"And I'm yours.", Fane whispered back, voice deep, growling, but nowhere near threatening before he resumed his tending, his guidance of flame and cinder.
Those were the only words Solas needed, desired, to hear as he let the fires engulf him, their tendrils lapping away restraint, their smoke choking his mind to blissful suffocation, and their inherent heat melting away the ice that had long encased his heart and soul. And all the while, he was held back, held firm, by arms that never wished to let go, to let him fall as the sky should fall.
***
Slight spicy again! Eheh! :3 I can't go two minutes without turning up the burner on these two, or making them complete fools! I hope you enjoyed it! Short, but sweet! X3
New Beginnings | A Villains Story
So, I just got done watching Villains and I absolutely loved it. I had originally wanted to write a few Mickey one shots but this one just screamed out to me and the writing of it was just so easy I had to go with that flow. I just had to write a super long Mickey story that would include all of the usual good stuff and has endless potential. I hope you enjoy the first part of this new fic :) <3
Tw; sexual harassment, incident of sexual assault, swearing, sexual innuendo
Word count: 1531
Tumblr media
“Hey sweet cheeks, how about another coffee over here? We’re dying of thirst,” came the call from the table of creepy guys who were sat close to the door of the roadside café where you worked. A quiet sigh escaped through her slightly parted lips before she turned, her customer service smile suddenly appearing on your face.
“Of course gentleman, I’m sorry I didn’t come back to you earlier …” she said, leaning over the table in her short uniform to pour coffee into their empty mugs. The man to her right, closest to the exit of the booth smacked his large, greasy hand against her backside and gave it a rough squeeze. The young girl pursed her lips into a polite smile, not wanting to risk losing her tips, that was the last thing she needed this month. Once the young girl had finished at their table, she began to slowly slink away, her head hanging in shame. Normally, outside of work, if some greaser even thought about touching her in that manner, her knee would collide with their bollocks pretty fucking quickly. Outside of work, she took no shit from anyone. When taking that shit meant she got to keep a roof over her head and she got to eat that month, she took it. The young woman walked back around to the service station, slamming down her coffee pot and stifling back a sob. Her hand whipped up toward her mouth to quieten herself further. As she stood there, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She quickly spun around coffee pot in hand.
“Woah there, hey hey, wow I’m sorry …” came the voice of the male stood in front of her. He stood there, towering over her petite frame, his hands held up in a defensive position.
“Oh my gosh … I am so sorry Sir, I’m sorry, I’m just …. It’s a rough day …” she quickly said back in response, putting the coffee pot down on the burner. “Can I get you something?” she asked, smoothing out her uniform and grabbing the note pad out of her apron pocket.
“Some sugar …” he said with a cheeky smile. The look on the girls face must have been less than impressed because the man chuckled and pointed to another one of the booths positioned by a large window, “.. for my coffee … relax ..” he said with another beaming smile. He wiggled his eyebrows at her before wandering back to his table. What had just happened? She thought to herself. Usually if a guy made a sexual innuendo as a joke, she would feel gross, disgusting and used inside, but this time, she thought it was cute and endearing. Was it purely based on the fact this guy was young, clean and exceptionally hot? The young girl shook her head before rasping one of the sugar shakers off the stand and pattering over to the booth.
“Your sugar,” she began, placing it down next to the handsome individual’s hand. Before she had a chance to say anything else, she heard the greasy truckers pipe up again. Her face must have looked sad because next thing she knew, she felt someone take her hand.
“Hey, beautiful, don’t let them assholes bother you. They never managed to climb all the way up the evolution tree and so … they don’t know how to treat a lady such as yourself.”
The young girl smiled, pushing a strand of her hair out of her face. “I have to …” she said, gesturing to the men who wanted yet another refill of their coffee.
“Sure of course … hey what time do you get a break? Or like, finish? You know, work?” he said. His voice was like caramel, so fluid and music to this lonely girls ears. His questions took her back as she wasn’t expecting them, but she turned, looked at the clock and responded.
“In one hour …” she said, releasing her hand from his and almost skipping off to serve the other table.
-
An hour had passed, and the young, dark haired man was still sat in his booth, slowly sipping his coffee, occasionally tipping the sugar shaker over his cup. The young girl punched her clock in and clock out card on the machine attached to the wall, grabbed her jacket, and walked over to the booth, taking a few deep breaths. What was she doing? This man was a stranger. She did not even know his name, but something was pulling her towards him. Something … special. She slid herself into the booth, startling him.
“Sorry …” she said quietly, a small smile crossing her lips. She popped her jacket and her small bag onto the seat next to her.
“Oh, hey yeah, no problem …” he said, smiling back at her. She looked intently at his face, scanning his hair line, his beautiful green eyes, the skinny attempt of a moustache across his top lip, and his lips … they were to die for. For a moment he stopped and stared at them, only them. Oh how she wondered what it would be like to kiss them.
“Mickey …” the guy said, holding his hand out to her. She snapped out of her trance and looked him in the eye. “… that’s my name, Mickey. Realised I hadn’t introduced myself and thought, you know, I’m being quite rude …”
The way he formatted his sentences, the way word came out of his mouth was adorable. His personality shone through and she found it incredibly sexy.
“I’m Louisa ...” she said, taking Mickeys hand in hers. Before she had a chance to shake it, he brought her hands to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it.
“Enchanté Louisa,” Mickey said, his thumb stroking the back of her hand. “So … why is someone as fantastical and beautiful working in a dive like this, serving utter assholes like that table by the other window…” he pointed towards the table that was now clear of oversized greasy trucker types, clean and already set up for the next lot of diners.
Louisa shrugged, “Keeps a roof over my head and food in my belly each month. Its gross and I hate it but … it’s cash…” she said, her tone sad and defeated. She had never imagined her life would turn out so shitty. She had imagined travelling, seeing the world, never having a care, no stress. How the tables had turned.
“Ah, I see, the usual story of this god forsaken land squeezing the life out of poor young girls who have their whole life in front of them. It’s so sad don’tcha think?” Mickey leant forward, a smile on his face. “Like, what if you just, gave it up one day and disappeared, went to travel the world or take risks and do tuff you could only ever dream of doing?”
Louisa couldn’t help but smile at how erratic Mickey was, but at the same time, what he was saying was just ridiculous. She couldn’t do that in a million years, not on her own and certainly not with Mickey. They had only just met, like two hours ago.
“Hey .. hey I’ve got a car, and I’ve got skills … what if we just upped and left? What if I rescued you from this shit hole diner? What if … “ he said, his hands incredibly animated, knocking over the sugar shaker but catching it just in time. “What if … we just left now? Said fuck it and left our awful mediocre lives behind and led a life of wonder and fantasy … do what we always wanted to do!”
“Mickey … we just met. You don’t know me, I don’t know you. We haven’t said more than two words to each other that included information about ourselves. I could be a secret serial killer for all you know!”
“Oh come on … what are the chances of there being two serial killers in this diner at one time? Like that’s an incredibly th-“ he stopped mid-sentence, noticing by that the look on her face that she was less than convinced this was a good idea. “-in and this isn’t a good argument to convince you to come with me is it? Shit …” he said, screwing up his face.
“Okay … lets do it this way …” Louisa began, reaching her hand out to put it on top of Mickeys. “We play twenty questions and if from our questions we seem compatible enough to lead the Thelma and Louise lifestyle and live out the back of your car, then I’ll do it … but … and it’s a big but …” she said, her other hand grabbing his other hand, leaning forwards so that she could talk in nothing but a whisper, “ … we’re swinging by my place first …” she left the sentence open and ambiguous on purpose. Did she mean to pick up some of her things? Did she mean in a more reckless way? She didn’t know.
“Deal …” Mickey said. “To possible new beginnings!”
Two days since that fated encounter with Chronostasis, you were now left with a vacant rest day. And where better place to spend it than with Dr. Hanayaka. Setting an appointment with him, as he liked to call it, you were tasked to help with the blood pressure for each patient he had. Luckily, his schedule wasn’t that straining.
“So you mean to say, his henchman met with you in secret?” Gei asked and raised an eyebrow. With his stethoscope resting on his shoulder and white coat on, it was sometimes hard to believe that this flamboyant man was a well respected doctor. “And handed you trash man’s sim card?”
“Yeah. I’ve already checked the contents of the sim and there’s not a lot to go on.” Aside from your messages, the contents of his inbox were that of an average man’s. Expecting some tea about his trade or even important numbers of other villains, you had to think whether or not Chrono deleted some or not.
“And what about that plan of yours, hmm?” Gei fixed his eyelashes before staring back at you. “What if it backfires and Chrono takes the blame?”
“He won’t. My instructions were clear and I set a time frame as well. Just something to please the heroes for setting me up.”
“You movin over to the dark side, baby girl?”
“Just balancing things out.” You shrugged. “Levi made it clear that they shouldn’t interfere with my relationship with Overhaul. Even though I’m on justice’s side, I still want to tip the scales a bit due to personal reasons.”
“Wouldn’t your badge and title be removed if they found out? And why in Todrick’s name are you so chill with this topic?! Are you certain you don’t have a bug on you?” Your friend eyed you down so quickly. Worried that policemen might end up barging inside his office.
“Don’t worry. I’m wearing new clothes so there’s no way they can. Besides, I’m being as cautious as ever. Seriousness aside, I do have some information you might want to feast on.” You smirked at the mental image of a maskless Chrono.
“Spill…” Gei shifted in his seat and leaned in closer. The look on your face only meant one thing.
“Okay, so Overhaul’s right hand man was the one who met me right? Well~ He took off his mask and I will have to admit the man looked hella fine~”
“Describe! Describe!”
“For starters, he has bluish-gray eyes. Though he looks like he wants to kill a person right there and then, he probably could since his jaw was rather prominent. His voice without the mask is different too.” You watched as Gei listened with such focus. “But, if I were to be honest, describing him doesn’t do him good. He looks really handsome.”
“Why is it always the villains who look good?” Gei commented with a pout. “Hawks aside, because that man is something else, but they just hit different you know?”
“That’s true. Shame they have to wear those masks, though.”
“On the contrary, I think it’s good that they do. Otherwise they’d have to endure the wrath of fan girls.”
“Right. Also feels good when they trust you enough to show what’s behind the mask.” Nodding at your own statement, the memory of having lunch with Overhaul came back. With no given warning, he took off his mask and casually drank water. Realizing that he had done it on purpose, a tiny smile formed on your mouth.
“If you miss him that bad, just call him.”
“He changed numbers and I’m not that desperate to ask Chrono for it. Nao said in due time he’ll contact me but the chances of that are negative.”
“Honey, it’s the modern era. Women aren’t as shy as they were before. If you want something, go and get it. If it is a guy’s new number, then go ahead. It’s not just men who make the first move. And besides, I think Overhoe would be surprised if you just suddenly ring his doorbell.”
“You do realize, I do not have the same confidence as you.”
“Fake it till you make it, boo.” He snapped his fingers in a z-formation.
“You’ve been watching Soopernatural again, haven’t you?”
“Okay, first off, Jenred Padackles is a god and I would worship his feet. Second, that show has references to everything and you can’t deny that.”
“Yeah, you’re right.” Standing up from the sofa, you stretched your limbs. “Anyway, I gotta scram.”
“Where you headin’ off to missy?”
“I have to meet up with Nao regarding the Fukuo Kai case.”
“But it’s your day off. Get a life and do something else other than work, (n/n).” Gei threw a pen to your direction but you dodged it effortlessly. “Don’t make me tell your father.”
“It’s only for a few minutes. It’s in preparation for tomorrow.” Not bothering to wait, you exited the room and sofly closed the doors to his office. Time spent with Gei was always an eye opener. However, it still wasn’t enough for you to stoop so low and ring his doorbell.
Making your way out of the hospital, you took a quick stop to the vending machines and chose a cold cafe au lait. Perfect for the hot and humid weather Japan had to offer. Feeling the cold liquid running down your throat was amazing and within seconds, you downed the whole drink. Tossing the empty bottle to the recycle bin, a gust of wind caused you to lose balance.
“Oh no.”
“Oh yes.”
“I have a meeting to attend to Hawks.” Hawks took his visors off and ruffled his wings. Offering to buy him a drink, he chose a tetra pack of  apple juice. Walking to the vacant bench, you followed him and decided that perhaps his visit would be worth it. “So what did the bird hear today?”
“Twice and Toga Himiko.”
“League of-” Then it hit you. “I see. Since when?”
“Yesterday. One of my informants saw them entering the base and left late at night. They didn’t look too happy about it, though.” Lowering his headphones, he ruffled his hair and stared at the clear blue skies. “Do what you will with this information. Just thought I’d let you know.”
“How and why do you even bother?”
“I work for the HPSC dove. If I don’t want them getting in my head, I gotta kick their crotches first.”
“That’s not the best analogy.”
“Still works though.” He winked and put on his headphones and visors back. Standing up, he offered a hand and you accepted it. Tailing you, Hawks was now opening the door for your car. “And one more thing, another of my birdies caught the scent of the quirk erasing bullets nearing its completion stages. Probably 80% now.”
“That’s fast.” You had to admit.
“Heard he’s been pissed. Be careful baby bird.” Hawks closed your door and saluted before flying off.
80%? That was enough information to speed up the Shie Hassaikai raid. Reaching out for your bag, you took the burner phone you recently purchased and reread each message the both of you exchanged. With two League of Villains now part of the yakuza, the possibility of casualties was much higher now.
Within minutes, you were now on the road. Fingers tightly wrapping the steering wheel. Your thumb bouncing with growing guilt at choosing to hide what Hawks had just said. Of course this wasn’t to ensure his victory, it was to even the field, right? It was the pettiness taking over you and Nighteye going against his words. It had to be.
Turning towards the precinct, you saw your designated parking area. The basement parking was a bit crowded today.
Heading towards the meeting room Tsukauchi had prepared for the small info sharing, you greeted fellow coworkers and kept conversation till you disappeared around the corner. Not too long after, you were now fiddling with your fingers. Basking in the silence till the doors opened revealing your partner and Shinezu. Both men took their seats and commenced the meeting.
“So, Shinezu will be tagging along.” He nodded at your coworker who seemed to be trembling at the thought. “It’ll do you good, Shinez. Trust me.”
“I-I know, Tsukau-kun.” He adjusted his tie, loosening it a bit. “I just think I’m not cut out for this mission you know? I do better behind the scenes.”
“While I believe that’s true, the 4th division works best when you’re around.”
“That’s true.” You agreed. Shinezu may not be the most social cookie out there but his brain was close to Namase. He also had the knack of coming up with solutions when things went wrong. All he needed was to amp his social skills. “We all know the 4th division leader is weak for you.”
“Not t-true.”
“All too true. You’ll be fine, Shinez. Have I ever lied to you?”
When the raven-haired man finally nodded his head, Tsukauchi cleared his throat and relayed the plans for tomorrow. It was the standard undercover data gathering in your books.
“So, to recap, the 4th division will be handling the snooping and we’ll remain on guard should all else fail?” You repeated the information given. Tsukauchi scratched his chin and nodded. Confirming that you had fully understood his message. “All this should happen within 5 hours. Got it. That’s quite cramped but manageable.”
“5 hours was the only allotted time I could fit in.” He scratched his nape and looked away. “You were right when I had to take it slow with my cases.”
“I’m not one to comment~” Waving the conversation aside, you stood up and the others followed.
With the short meeting now over, Tsukauchi and you were now seated in the break room. Cups of coffee present as you exchanged more information about your days and current mission. For a brief moment, despite him not being a part of the Shie Hassaikai Raid, you wanted to pour every single information you had just gained from Hawks. The lingering guilt was much more present now.
“You’re spacing out.” He snapped his fingers in front of you. “You alright?”
“Aside from the growing problem of trashman, I’m fine. Just a lot on my mind.” Taking a sip from your coffee, the usual taste of bitterness was strong today. “Nothing to worry about~”
“You should go home, (n/n). I already took up a portion of your time. Any more and I might drown from embarrassment.”
“That’s gross. Even coming from you.” Kicking him from under the table, the two of you laughed before chugging the remaining drops of coffee. “I will take that offer though. Need me some beauty sleep before shit happens again. See ya!”
Hours had passed and you were now stuffing your face with chips. He was right when he said you had purchased too much but you weren’t complaining. The movie playing now was one of your favorites, Prisoner. Gake Jyllenhall was divine in this movie. It was always the twist of the movie that kept you watching it over and over again.
“I wonder if we had watched this… would the wall pinning  happen?” You thought out loud. Shaking your thoughts away from him, you stopped the movie and stored the chips.
Now that you were settled in bed, Overhaul’s jacket rested on top of you. By now, his scent had disappeared and was now replaced by yours. Grabbing your phone, you opened the messaging app and clicked on a certain conversation. Rereading his messages was not the best idea but at least you would be able to relive whatever memories you had created.
Glancing at your desk calendar, in just two months time, you would meet him again. Would things still be the same? Or would things go back to the way they were? Tucking your phone under the unused pillow, you willed yourself to sleep and surprisingly succeeded.
Waking up not so refreshed happened again. But, nothing out of the ordinary. Not being a morning person, you dragged your body away from the bed and began the necessary clothes. Deciding to just buy breakfast, it took you less than an hour to lock your doors and head over to the parking lot.
Making your way up the steps, you met up with Shinezu.
“You look like shit, Shinez.” You teased him. “Take a chill pill.”
“I already did. But it’s still not working. This would be the first case in a while where I’ll interact with others.” Leading the way, the both of you were now walking through the empty hallways. The sounds of your footsteps muffled by the cheap carpeted floors. “How do you guys even manage to survive situations like these?”
“By taking it one step at a time~” Not the best advice for someone who’s socially challenged but it is what it is.
Opening the doors for you, the both of you entered the room and took your designated seats. A bunch of people from the 4th division were now present. Tsukauchi had not yet arrived but it was still early so it was excusable. Exchanging a few small talk, you caught up with what the 4th division was up to till the doors finally opened.
“Good morning everyone.” Tsukauchi greeted. Feet glued to his spot. His eyesight focused on you. “Before we head out, we have a special guest joining us.”
“Holy shit.” Shinezu uttered under his breath.
Roommates {PJM}
Tumblr media
Pairing: Park Jimin x female reader
Genre: Smut (roommate Jimin)
Summary: You come home from getting groceries to find your roommate has read your fantasies about him. When you try to have some alone time in a bath, he finds a way to include himself.
Warnings: Masturbation (mentions, alone, and mutual), snoop-ass Jimin, bath sex, blowjob, switch Jimin, a lot of moaning, bad writing,
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
aftercare and praise kink
———————————————————
“I’m home!” You called out to your roommate. The house was silent, but you knew he was home because today was his day off. You walked in, stumbling as you placed groceries on the kitchen counter.
You assumed Jimin was sleeping, taking a nap to make up for his hard work lately. You finished putting the groceries up, walking to the couch in the living area. You sat down, taking a moment to think about the rest of your day. What do you have planned?
First, you’ll watch some tv and swipe through hook up apps, none of the articulated choices satisfying your hungry needs to just be cared for instead of pushed around. Although, being pushed into a wall did seem appetizing to the hidden, watering lips as the thought raced through your mind.
Second, you’ll pester Jimin to make food, only to end up making a simple microwaveable cup of ramen. Maybe if you’re lucky, he’ll hardboil an egg for you. But, Jimin refuses to cook nice things for you due to the countless amount of times you’ve teased him with food only to eat it all by yourself.
Third, maybe you’ll go take a nice, long bath. The showerhead running under the water with the clean, pressurized feeling eating at your entrance. But that alone won’t be enough. You’ll most likely have a finger twirling at the knot of nerves you call a clitoris, while you bite your lip, praying Jimin can’t hear your whines echo off of the shower tiles. He teased you last time, breathing out mocking moans. Of course, you didn’t hold back then, you thought he’d be out longer.
Fourth, you’ll probably go to sleep. Nothing fun with that other than the eight percent chance you may have a dream involving sex. Even then, there’s only a four percent chance you’ll orgasm because of it.
You blinked, wondering why your mind was moving towards these sexual thoughts. Nothing visual was turning you on, so what could it be?
You pushed your hair behind your ears, looking towards the bedrooms. There was a noise that you could almost put your finger on, but is that really what you’re hearing, or it just your imagination.
Of course, the sound got louder, and higher pitched. Not only that, but there was a lower sound, almost mimicking it. You knew exactly what was going on. You quietly stood from the couch, tip-toeing your way to Jimin’s bedroom door, the sound getting louder and then stopping. You raised your eyebrows, hearing words. Maybe you were just too horny to think it could be anything else. You opened the door, looking in to see Jimin’s laptop opened in his lap, his chin against his chest as he lightly snored. The laptop was blaring a TV show. There must have been a sex scene.
“Jimin?” You shut his laptop, moving it away from him. You had yet to greet him. His eyes fluttered open tiredly.
“Yeah?” He groaned, stretching his arms above his head. You felt bad for instantly taking his groans in a dirty way. After all, he was just your roommate.
“Do you want to make some dinner?” You asked. Jimin scoffed, rolling onto his side so that he wasn’t facing you. “I just figured we both might be hungry and I just bought groceries.” You raised your eyebrows.
“Do it yourself, y/n, I’m tired.” He whined. You sighed, moving away from him.
”Fine.” you walked out of his room, shutting the door behind you. You skipped the first thing in your list, maybe you could go ahead and move on to the next.
You grabbed a cup of ramen, pulling the lid off and taking placing it back on the counter to grab your kettle. You filled the kettle with water, placing it on a burner to be heated and then leaning against the counter with patience.
“Ramen?” Jimin groaned from his bedroom door. You looked to him, your mouth salivating. Grey sweatpants. He rubbed his right hand up and down his chest as a yawn left his lips. “What did you plan to make for me, hm?” He walked past you and to the fridge. Your eyes trailed down from his chest to the obvious places of his pants. You cleared your throat.
“You’ve been home all day, why couldn’t you make something for yourself?” You whined, turned back to the kettle. You could hear the water bubbling.
“Because we didn’t have any food.” Jimin shot back with a bit of attitude. He hummed, sitting on the counter, facing your helpless face. “Do you think you’re boss around here?” He laughed. You glared at him, his face changing. “It was a joke, y/n.”
The kettle began to squeal, his hand reaching for the handle as yours did. You swatted his hand away.
“I can do it myself.” You sighed. His teasing was chipping at your core and that bath sounded amazing right now.
“I know you can.” Jimin sighed. “But you want someone to do it for you.” He turned off the burner. You looked into his eyes questionably. Those words felt so familiar. Jimin leaned his head back, staring at the ceiling with a smirk.
“What did you do?” You asked. He tilted his head down, looking at you.
“Well, remember when you logged into your email on my laptop because yours had a virus?” He raised his eyebrows. “So, I went to check my email today and yours was still logged in. Turns out you sent yourself an email titled ‘Fuck’.” He licked his lips. Your face went red.
“I hate you.” You pulled the kettle to your cup of ramen, pouring the water onto the noodles.
“No, I think you’ve been thinking of me.” Jimin hopped off of the counter, pushing you against the cold cabinet in front of you. You slightly gasped as his hands slid past your hips and against your stomach.
“Stop.” You whined, pushing him off. “It was a dream I had, there was no meaning behind it.” You lied. Jimin hummed, pulling his arms away.
“Okay.” He sighed, walking towards our living area. You stood at the counter, your ramen soaking in hot water.
You shut your eyes, trying to gain control. Your mind kept moving to the bath.
“Do you want this ramen? I think I’m going to take a bath.” You looked rough Jimin, his eyes moving between you and the ramen.
“Uh, sure, will you bring it to me?” He asked. You rolled your eyes, bringing the hot ramen to him. He looked into your eyes with a smirk. “Thank you.” He licked his lips. You nodded, quickly making your way to the bathroom. You started the water, waiting for the tub to fill up. The TV in the other room was blaring, almost as if it was on purpose.
“Harder!” A girl cried. Your eyes grew wide.
“Jimin!” You called. The sound paused. “What are you watching?” You asked through the door.
“An American movie.” He called back. “Lots of sex, I might have to change it.” His voice held a teasing tone. You rolled your eyes, anxiously awaiting for the moment where you could spend time on yourself. You waited five more minutes before turning off the water. An excited smile spread across your face, another smile tingling below. You quickly stripped and got into the bathtub, pulling the shower curtain shut.
“Finally.” You sighed to yourself, reaching into the water and between your legs. You rubbed a circle around your clit, feeling your body begin to get hot.
Jimin’s thumb rubbed a circle against your clit, his breath heavy just from watching you tremble at his touch. The water splashed loudly, but it wasn’t like either of you cared. He began stroking his member, shutting his eyes. He listened to your quiet moans, wishing they were louder. “Louder, dear.” He’d moan. You reach back, placing on hand on the side of the bathtub, the other circling with his finger.
“Y/n, I made a mess, I need to wash my hands,” Jimin knocked on the door. You groaned.
“Use the kitchen sink.” You continued circling, taking deep breaths to not seem suspicious.
“There’s no more soap in there.” Jimin whined. You licked your lips.
“Fine, no peeking.” You allowed his access. Jimin came into the bathroom, turning on the sink faucet. You stopped for a moment, only to make sure he was actually washing his hands. He was. You continued, lifting your clit slightly above the water that way it didn’t sound like you were pleasuring yourself. Your eyes stayed shut.
“Done,” Jimin sighed, turning off the sink. “Bye, y/n.” The door opened, then closed. You sighed, letting your pelvis drop back into the water. You circled faster, your legs beginning to shake.
“Fuck,” you moaned quietly. There was a slight chuckle that caused you to pause, breathing heavily. You opened your eyes, not seeing anyone. You peeked out of the shower curtain, noticing Jimin sitting on the sink counter, a smirk on his face.
“What’re you thinking about?” He sighed. You didn’t know what to say. Your roommate just caught you masturbating after giving him ramen you actually kind of wanted. You breathed out, feeling defeated.
“Jimin, get out.” You sighed. He smirked, hopping off of the counter and taking a step closer to you.
“Y/n, I hope you’re thinking of me,” he cooed. “I hope you’re watching me push myself inside of you, my fingers rubbing at your clit.” He grabbed the edge of the shower curtain, looking to your desperate eyes. He smirked. “May I?” He asked. You nodded.
“Jimin,”
“Don’t say my name unless you’re moaning it.” Jimin sat on the edge of the tub, his eyes on your hand that was resting on your clit. “Continue.” He looked to your eyes. You hesitated, not sure if this was a hallucination or real life. Well, you know it’s real life, but it’s so hard to process.
“I-“
“Y/n,” Jimin sighed. “Touch yourself.” His eyes intimidated you. You nodded, gulping as you rubbed your clit in circles once again. You breathed heavily, shutting your eyes. “Open your eyes,” Jimin demanded, you looked directly into his pupils, circling even faster.
“Shit,” you moaned out. Jimin hummed, shutting his eyes.
“Louder,” he cupped his hand around the crotch of his pants, rubbing gently. You tried to go even faster, your legs shaking.
“Jimin,” you moaned out, your voice echoing on the tiles of the bathroom. Jimin moaned in response.
“Yes, baby, I’m right here.” He sighed. You shut your eyes again, the heat coming off of you felt excruciatingly pleasurable. You moaned over and over again, louder and louder. But through the moans, Jimin said, “stop.” You stopped, finding it so hard to keep your hand still when you were getting so close.
“I want to finish.” You breathed out. Jimin hummed, standing from the side of the bathtub. He pushed down his sweatpants, then his boxer briefs followed. You admired his length, surprised. You had always imagined... smaller. Jimin pulled off his shirt.
“I’ll let you finish.” Jimin stepped into the bathtub. You were speechless. “Up.” He commanded. You sat up, eyes level with the one thing you wanted inside of you. “Go ahead.” Jimin looked down at you. You smirked, leaning closer to his dick. You licked from base to tip, before wrapping your lips around him. He moaned, placing his hands on the shower walls. You glance up at him, seeing his head falling back as you take him all in. “Good girl,” he moans out. “Fuck.” You feel his hips start to move with you. “Down,” he pulls himself away from you, your teeth biting at your bottom lip. He gets down, sitting in the water.
You lean close to him, your lips by his ear and your hand around his dick. You begin to stroke him, placing a kiss on his jaw.
“How bad did you want this?” You ask. He only moans out, looking into your eyes. He chuckles and drops his head back. “I want you inside me.” You whisper. Jimin hums our a moan, trying to compose himself.
“Then take a seat,” he grabs your hips, clutching tightly so your wet body doesn’t slip through his hands. He squeezes your sides, admiring your body. You align yourself with his member, sliding right on. Both of you moan out together, small laughs coming from each of your pleasures. Jimin guides you up and down his cock, watching the way the water ripples around you two.
“Oh,” you moan, a hand grasping for the wall next to you.
“You’re doing amazing.” Jimin praises you, speeding up the way he moves you. You smile, your hands clutching at the edge of the bathtub and the wall. Jimin moans, lifting his pelvis to get deeper into you. His hands move up, pulling you closer, then pushing you back. “God, you’re so beautiful.” He rubs his thumb over your clit, releasing a loud moan from your lips. “Yes, baby, be loud.” He rubs faster.
The bathroom has breaths echoing from every wall, moans bouncing on every surface. Jimin’s hand tightens on your side, the other rubbing so fast, you could barely keep yourself above him. “You first, y/n.” Jimin moaned out, you felt it bubbling. The climax you’d been waiting for. You ride harder, faster, your toes cramping. Then it hits. You gasp, body shaking in Jimin’s hands. You feel Jimin’s member twitch inside of you, then a loud moan signals his release. You breathe heavily, grabbing his face and placing your lips against his.
You pull away, resting your hands on his shoulders.
“Oh my god,” you shut your eyes. Jimin runs a hand over your hair with a sigh.
“You feel so good around me,” Jimin sighed, a visible gulp at his throat. You chuckled, resting your forehead against his. You let out a hum to show him you still felt it. “Fuck.” Jimin takes a deep breath, holding under you. “Up,” he whispers. You move up, allowing him to move out of you. He gently lets you back down into the water, a sigh on his lips.
“You can use my towel, just get me another one.” You smiled. Jimin smirked, stepping out of the bathtub. He grabbed your towel, wrapping it around his hips.
“I’ll grab you a water,” he licked his lips, smiling at you. “That was really great, thank you.” He stepped out of the bathroom, smiling at you before shutting the door.
You chuckled, laying your head back.
“Wow.”
Death.
Ailish sat up on her cot, freezing cold. She was drenched in sweat and panting heavily. It was pitch black in the gulag and she tried to slow her breathing so she wouldn’t wake her comrades. She listened carefully, there was snoring coming from all directions. Nobody had heard her, not yet.
She was safe. She was surrounded by big men with weapons, nothing could hurt her here. All the prisoners were securely locked up. Ailish reached down and felt the comforting cool steel of her own pistol in its holster.
She breathed in deep and counted 1...2...3... before breathing out again. Her pulse was still racing and she could feel her heart trying to leap out of her ribcage.
Safe. I’m safe.
It had been nearly two years since Yamatai and Ailish still had nightmares. She knew exactly what it was: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She had heard the guys talk, knew some of them struggled too. She had seen a few get discharged because of it. She’d spent a long time trying to convince herself she was fine. But in fact, she really wasn’t.
She needed air. Ailish quietly got out of her cot and shrugged on a few more layers before making sure her pistol was strapped to her body, just in case. She tiptoed past the guys by the light from her torch, and made her way out to the old guardhouse that was their temporary mess area. She just wanted some space to calm down.
Empty, thank God. The embers of the fire were enough to keep the warmth going. She pulled up a chair and settled in to watch the glow.
She kept replaying the last moments of her nightmare over and over in her head, despite trying her best to push it away. They were in that god-awful pit again, suffocating from the fumes. She checked ahead and yelled Clear! back to her second, Charlie. As he moved past her she heard something big land on the rock of the cavern floor behind them. Charlie swung back around and screamed at her to get down as a God-awful roar filled the cave, rattling her bones. He raised his gun to fire and Ailish shrieked at him stopitsgonnablow-
bang bang
BOOM
A flash of white light, then darkness. Waking up in terror once again from the memories that haunted her every night. At least she was alive, she had made it out. Charlie hadn’t, she couldn’t save him. She still blamed herself. The guys had tried to convince her again and again it was an accident, but she should have been there. In her dreams, she’d seen Charlie die a hundred times over, each more horrible than the last.
She had never been so close to quitting as she had after Yamatai. She had composed her resignation letter in her head on the helicopter ride back to civilization, but had never written it. Something told her it wasn’t time yet. She’d spent just over three years working with Trinity at that point and never questioned her beliefs before the clean-up mission to that hellhole. By all accounts it was even worse during the Nishimura expedition. She shuddered, it didn’t bear thinking about, how anyone could survive there for any length of time she’d never know. So many bodies. And in some places, the smell, it was unholy.
It didn’t help her sleep at night, but at least she had got a promotion out of it. The salary was great, which was a major reason for her staying put. Ailish was trying to help her parents put her younger sister through Yale, and every cent counted. Her mom and dad had just been grateful, and thankfully hadn’t yet asked where the money had come from. She didn’t want to have to lie. They’d hit the roof if they ever found out. As far as they were concerned, she was still working as a paralegal in Chicago. God, she missed her sister. She hadn’t seen her in months, and now Ailish was off-grid in Siberia. Freezing cold, snowy, desolate Siberia.
She was startled out of her thoughts by a voice outside. A deep voice, American accent. It sounded a lot like the Commander. She really hoped he wouldn’t come into the guardhouse. He was intimidating, and she’d never been in a room alone with him before. He sounded like he was talking on the phone.
“...and what did the doctor say?”
...
“Okay...Ana, are you smoking?”
...
“Yeah, I know, but-“
...
“Listen, she’s on the move. She may even already be in Siberia. I need you back here.”
...
“Got it, see you soon.”
Who was Ana? Was it his wife, girlfriend, daughter? Who was the other ‘she’ he was talking about?
Ailish heard footsteps coming up to the door and the latch lifting. Oh boy, here we go. I wasn’t eavesdropping, Commander, I swear.
He stopped dead when she saw her at the table. Obviously not expecting anyone else to be awake at this hour. He slid the cellphone he was carrying into a pocket and nodded at her before closing the door behind him. “Sergeant.”
“Evening-“ Ailish checked her watch. “Ah, morning, Commander. Sorry, sir. I’ll get out of your way.” She slid her chair back to leave.
“Stay. You were here first.” Ailish sat back down immediately, wide-eyed. “What are you doing up so late?”
“I couldn’t sleep, sir.” Not strictly true but she didn’t want to feel like a little schoolkid telling her superior she had a bad dream.
“Likewise.” He pulled up the chair opposite her and sat down with a sigh.
Something was bothering him, he seemed fidgety. Ailish didn’t really know what to do so she started twiddling her thumbs and rambling to fill the silence. “Gee, the weather’s really turned these past few days, huh? Ha ha...kind of makes me wish we were back in Syria. Although it was almost too hot-“
He cut her off. “Moscovitch, isn’t it?”
“Yes, sir.”
“We’re not on duty, you don’t have to call me sir.”
“Uh- yes. Okay, si- eh...Command- uhmm...”
“Konstantin is fine.”
“Okay.” It felt weird. Ailish wasn’t even sure if that was his first or last name. “You can call me Ailish. It’s slightly less of a mouthful than Moscovitch.”
“Don’t hear that name very often.”
“Yeah, it’s a weird one...my parents have always had this fascination with Ireland. It means ‘noble and kind’ or something like that...I dunno...”
He looked at her for a long moment. Ailish opened her mouth to speak again when a wolf howled up in the mountains. She grabbed for her pistol and her other hand tightened on the edge of the table until her knuckles turned white.
Konstantin saw her reaction and frowned. “Relax, it’s just a wolf, they don’t come down here-“
“Yeah, I know.” She started hyperventilating and bit her lip hard to fight back the tears. For God’s sake, don’t cry in front of the Commander. She hated hearing the wolves at night. Rationally, she knew they were miles away, but the sound still caused her pain.
For a moment she was back on Yamatai, wedged in a rocky crevice listening to the snarling as they hunted for her. The smell of rain, tree sap and decay all around. Her hands shaking as she pointed her rifle at the opening, just waiting for jaws and teeth to emerge around the corner and grab at her.
“Oh, shit.” This was going to be a bad episode. She’d had panic attacks increasingly often and could spot the signs of one approaching. Fortunately they usually hit when she was alone or could sneak away, but now she had no such luxury. Ailish knew this one had her beat.
Konstantin’s mouth tightened. “Language.”
She had time to blurt out “Terribly sorry sir!” before she slid off the chair onto the floor and crawled under the table.
The tears were now pouring out and rolling down her cheeks. What an embarrassment. She’d fought so hard to prove she was equal to the guys, and now she was being a silly little girl.
She felt the Commander’s boot gently tapping her back. “Mos- Ailish? Are you okay?”
“I will be, in a minute.” She panted.
Through the panic she heard the other chair scraping backwards. To her surprise Konstantin crouched and got down to her level under the table, facing her. Was he supposed to do that?
“You’ve normally got it together, Moscovitch.” Oh no, back on a last name basis. She’d definitely messed up. “Want to tell me what’s going on?”
Ailish shook her head, squeezing her eyes shut. “Just need a sec.”
The only sounds in the room were her panting and the low crackle of logs in the burner. She felt his gloved hand on her shoulder.
He quietly spoke. “Listen, I read the Yamatai report.” It was strange, how calming his voice was.
Ailish looked up, misty-eyed. “Yeah?”
He nodded. “I didn’t know they’d be sending a woman.”
“I’m just as capable-“
“Quiet. I’m saying it’s impressive you completed the mission, and even led part of the way, that place sounded like a nightmare.”
“It was.” Charlie, I should have saved you.
“And I am sorry you lost Corporal Collins. I know you were close.”
“Yeah...” she sniffed loudly. Her heart still hurt, so much. “He was like a brother. Charlie would have done anything for me. And I would have done the same for him.”
His eyes softened. “I know what that’s like.”
It meant a lot to Ailish, getting commiserations from a Trinity leader. Normally, you could forget about that sort of thing. Rourke had co-ordinated the Yamatai mission and hadn’t said a word to her when he had met them back on the mainland for debriefing. Dominguez had been silent too, though he had been one of those who had approved her promotion. They could be a heartless, insensitive bunch sometimes.
But she hadn’t expected the Commander to have a soft side. He actually reminded her of Charlie. Konstantin had a scarred-up face but there were similarities for sure. Blonde hair, blue eyes, they walked with the same purpose. He wasn’t bad-looking actually, as long as the light was dim.
Ailish eventually rallied and crawled back into her chair, still breathing quickly. Konstantin sat down too, regarding her with something akin to concern.
“Tell me the real reason you’re here by yourself in the middle of the night.”
She swallowed hard. “I...I have nightmares still.”
He shook his head. “I think you should talk to someone about this. If you’re serious about staying with Trinity. It would be a shame to bail out now that you’re a Sergeant.”
“I’m fine.” Ailish mumbled.
“You’re really not. I know someone who might be able to help, a doctor.”
“No, honestly...” Please no doctors, they might kick her out. She needed the money for Ellen’s tuition, she had to stay.
“I trust her, she’s with Trinity. Her name’s Wilkens. If I order you to see her you can’t say no.”
“Then I suppose it’s settled.” Great, just great.
“Indeed.”
He suddenly pulled his gloves off and took her hand in his. Ailish fought not to pull back out of his grasp. Was this really appropriate? Her free hand was reaching for her pistol when she realised he was just checking her pulse.
“Much better. Almost back to normal.”
She managed a small smile. “Thank you Commander.”
Ailish realised her hand felt strange under his, like a bug was crawling on her. She glanced down and started. “Your...uh, your hand is bleeding.”
Fresh blood was running down between her fingers onto the table. It was creepy as hell, she tried not to shiver. She’d been a bit squeamish about blood since she’d seen a literal underground river of it in Japan.
He didn’t react, just looked straight into her eyes. Ailish didn’t know what he expected her to do. She could still feel it trickling down her skin. Was he not alarmed that his hand had just started pouring blood? She was becoming visibly uncomfortable when he finally answered her.
“They’re old wounds. It happens sometimes.” He held up his other hand, palm facing towards her. “See?” That one was also dripping crimson.
Ailish almost gagged. Ugh, now she knew why he wore gloves all the time, even in the heat of Syria. What was the name for those wounds? Stigmata, or something like that. A sign of divine favour, apparently.
The urge to ask how he got them was overwhelming. Actually, she better not, it was maybe a touchy subject. The Commander could be...violent. She’d seen what he could do when he was pissed off. She had the fleeting thought that maybe he would hurt her, or worse, if the mood took him. Everyone else was asleep, who would know?
He spoke, jolting her back to reality. “Did you pray on Yamatai, Ailish?”
She nodded, not breaking the eye contact. “Yes sir, for my life, almost constantly.”
“And you truly believe in what we are trying to accomplish?”
“Yes sir.”
“Hmmm...”
There was a long pause, he seemed to be having an internal conversation she wasn’t privy to. Finally he nodded. “Keep your faith, Ailish. You have already been tested, and you’re still here. I believe you are destined for something greater, like myself.”
“Sir?”
He smiled at her, but it was cold and calculating, he reminded her of a shark. His eyes were suddenly dark and empty.
“The name Ailish is Celtic, yes. But did you know it has a different meaning in Hebrew?”
“You know Hebrew?” She asked in surprise. He ignored her.
“Your name means consecrated to God.”
She wasn’t sure she liked his train of thought. Ailish knew he was one of the more devout members of Trinity, but she didn’t know how deep it ran.
“I’m sorry, Commander, I’m not sure what you’re getting at...”
“I want to keep a closer eye on you, Sergeant. You report directly to me now, do you understand?”
“Yes sir.” She nodded, albeit reluctantly.
“And let me talk to Wilkens. We’ll help you, don’t skip out on Trinity yet.” He finally let go of her bloodstained hand. Ailish could smell it, metallic.
Konstantin stood up, pulling his gloves on. “I have a feeling we’re going to need you for something important.”
Ailish was dumbfounded, what had she agreed to? She didn’t like not knowing, but the Commander wasn’t a man you just said no to.
As he opened the door with a blast of cold air Konstantin turned back, giving her that empty smile again. “Get some sleep, Sergeant. That’s an order.”
“O...kay.” The door clicked shut, and he was gone.
Ailish glanced down at the mess on her hand. She felt like she’d been marked in some way.
Stigmata.
What did he mean?
Consecrated to God. What was it that Konstantin, or some other higher power had planned for her?
What was her purpose?
***
Thank you for reading!
~ Anyone who has read Behind Trinity Lines will recognise the character of Dr. Joanna Wilkens, I couldn’t not include her somehow! She is awesome and I love her. All credit to @BrittanyTheScrivener on Ao3 for Jo’s character. Her work is brilliant, if you haven’t read it I highly suggest you do
~ Sergeant Ailish Moscovitch, her family and Corporal Charlie Collins are my characters, all other characters mentioned are property of the Tomb Raider creative team and I take no ownership of them
~ I feel I should mention that nothing in this work is intended to cause offence or be blasphemous in any way. I myself am not religious at all but I am respectful of those who choose to be and anything I’ve written is only exploring character traits already displayed in the Tomb Raider video games
~ I have no current plans to update this with more chapters, it was intended to be a one-shot. I just really wanted to play with Konstantin’s heavily religious side. But if there is interest I might continue the story...what exactly does Konstantin have planned for Ailish? Where does she fit in with the events in Rise of the Tomb Raider? What will Ana think of her? What would happen if Ailish and Lara ever crossed paths? This could get interesting...
Liner notes for An Echo, An Answer
Okay let's give this a go I guess? I may add more to this if I remember things too lol
Fair warning this is an exceedingly long post. It has ~subheadings~ (ooh). These cover:
Fun Facts
Notes about mira
Notes on actual writing/plot
Post-canon tidbits (to be supplemented by actual post-canon oneshot coming maybe not soon but definitely at some point probably)
Needless to say this contains some BIG OL’ SPOILERS. Please enjoy o:
Some general Fun Facts™:
When I posted the first few chapters of this fic, I didn't have a fucking clue where it was going. I didn't even know how kravitz died until I'd already posted like 10 chapters lmao. This was a stressful way to write and I am never doing that again
In terms of inspo, I remember there being a fic in which taako was a ghost and kravitz was a medium (if anyone knows what fic this is PLEASE tell me I cannot find it) and I think I subconsciously took inspiration from this. Also I’d already written a vampire au and I wanted more undead boyfriend shenanigans, I looove playing with the liminal aspects of kravitz being a dead-but-not-dead character
There was a goof version of this fic where kravitz wasn't from the 1900s at all and died in like. The early 2000s or something. He died having come back from/at a costume party, people assumed he was an actual ye olde victorian ghost, and he decided to just lean into it. Cue fake accent. This was scrapped mainly because I loved the ‘sleepy hollow’-esque man-out-of-time shenanigans way too much and also because I know very little about the early-2000s US but do you know what I do know a moderate amount about? 1900s england
I have not read the cask of amontillado and I did not know what it was until seeing the memes, which was after I wrote the basement body twist. I just wanted to have a cheesy secret basement behind a bookcase c'mon it's a murder mystery in an old spooky house let me have this
Anyone who's followed my content for a while probably knows that I'm a big trans kravitz stan, but I dithered over making him trans in this fic a Lot. This was mostly down to self-doubt abt a story ft. a trans man living as his preferred gender in that time period would be deemed "unrealistic" but in the end I said fuck it I want this & I think that was the correct move. Also I read a fair bit about absolute legend dr james barry & that made me a bit more confident about committing to the decision bc these people did exist & they deserve their rep
You may notice that all of the major OCs created for this fic are women. This was an accident but also I stand by it bc I think it helps to balance out the fact that so much of the ‘screentime’ is being dominated by the male leads (inc. angus, who probably has the 3rd most screentime after taako & krav). They’re also all just, absolutely indomitable people. I have a type when it comes to OCs. Speaking of:
Notes on mira:
Mira was very much a character created to serve a purpose, but she ended up becoming a lot more than that and I'm glad people warmed up to her while reading as much as I did while writing. She wasn't going to have anywhere near as much screen time initially as she did in the end but I just loved her & how her relationship with kravitz turned out so much that I ended up writing a bunch of snippets with the two of them just for me, which eventually turned into the fragment chapters because I wanted to share how gd cute they were. Also they ended up being pretty useful for plot too lol
She and flossy were actually kind of the same character to begin with, being kravitz's best friend who he lived with in a kind of lavender marriage with neither of them interested in the other but being happy enough being friends & pretending. I scrapped this pretty early for a lot of reasons but she was still the cause of his death in that version, whether or not she actively killed him. I think there was a gambling debts element at some point
Whatever iteration of the story, she was always going to be the cause of death. I ruled out actual murder pretty early on because I didn't want to tell a story about a gay, black trans man getting murdered in cold blood in his own home, which in a ghost story only really leaves manslaughter, and an accidental killing by a loved one was an idea that followed pretty hot on the heels of that decision - it's very sad, but there's no hatred behind it, so it's not too outright depressing for what is most likely an audience with a high population of marginalised people. That bittersweetness of tone - sad events, but almost always with loving intentions behind or around them - ended up being a real touchstone for the story as a whole
In terms of post-canon content for her, or I guess just stuff that wasn't mentioned in-fic lol, my idea of how her life played out is that she was a pretty solid pillar of her community for a very long time. She took what kravitz said about thinking about what she wanted to add to the world very much to heart, and her answer was for her to be to as many kids and vulnerable people as possible what kravitz was to her. Obviously in the end she poured a lot of herself into helping others out of guilt for having killed a man who she likely remembered a little rose-tinted, but the intent was always there before that too
I don't know how much this came across in the actual text but mira is mixed race (Black/white), though she is Black-coded in terms of how people see and respond to her (please tell me if I’m using these terms incorrectly). I downplayed a lot of the racial elements of this fic bc I don’t feel like it’s my place as a white writer to delve into those areas, but it is an element of her story that ties into anti-miscegenation laws and general societal attitudes and I didn’t just want to entirely gloss over those aspects, bc that wouldn’t be right of me either, so I can only hope the balance ended up working here, and for kravitz’s story too. I did a lot of the writing for mira’s story before even really thinking about this angle which is something I’ve learnt from now bc oh boy should I have thought about it sooner lmao........
Anyway. I love her. I’m very glad that other people love her too
In terms of story writing:
I used to watch A LOT of crime dramas when I was younger, and got so familiar with the structure of them that I used to predict who the killer was going to be about a quarter of the way into them almost every time. Most of the time the killer is someone introduced early on as someone fairly innocuous, but still notable, before the narrative doubles down on a red herring suspect who's proven innocent about 3/4 of the way through, paving the way for the real twist killer. You see where I took my base structure from here
So, mira is introduced early on as someone important to kravitz, who was involved in his life (& death) somehow, but in general she's more suggested to be a victim than a culprit - because of course she is, she’s a child and she loves him! I'm only just realising now that this is a "person of interest" style plot twist here. (Remember what I said about the crime dramas? Just so many of them.) But then in the end she suffered just as much as anyone else, so I guess you could say she's both a victim and a culprit, even by accident.......
Structurally I'm actually really happy with how this turned out. In my head (BECAUSE OH BOY I DID NOT WRITE ANY OF THIS DOWN! Or at least not in a coherent way) the story was split into three mini arcs - the enemies section ending with the kitchen blowout, the friends section ending with the the bay window scene, and the lovers section which covers the rest of the fic. This ended up integrating really well with the main mysteries/pulls of the story - the first being the will-they-won't-they (they will, it’s fanfiction, but how?) of the romance element, and then once that's tapering off starting to dig more into the murder mystery element, which had been more of a subplot up until then, while the romance moves onto the back burner a little bit. The dual genre was an interesting challenge to try to balance and I think it turned out pretty well!
While I'm on this, setting up my breadcrumb trails for the plot twists was simultaneously very stressful and very rewarding. Trying to keep things obvious enough to be noted but subtle enough not to give the whole game away? Gave me so many headaches lmao. I actually thought for sure that some people would twig about the body in the cellar sooner than ch42, but then actually in ch42 way more people picked up on fisher's sniffing around than I expected. Clues are hard!! But at the same time seeing the handful of people who called mira as an adoptive daughter, or the fact that krav fell down the stairs, or the fact that mira's og parents were involved was very cool and it made me very happy to see people picking up the little stuff and putting it together
QUITE A FEW PEOPLE SAID NICE THINGS TO ME ABOUT HOW CLEVER THE PIANO TUNING ANGLE WAS. I CANNOT TAKE COMPLETE CREDIT FOR THIS. IT WAS A PLOT HOLE THAT I SUDDENLY REGISTERED OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE I WAS IN THE SHOWER & THEN ENDED UP WORKING IN SO I GUESS IT TURNED OUT FOR THE BEST & MADE ME LOOK VERY SMART BUT IT WAS AN ACCIDENT
Something else that a couple of people have noted & that I only realised in the process of writing was the fact that a lot of kravitz's ghostliness in this fic has the potential to be read as an allegory for chronic illness/disability. This was something I only caught onto myself while I was writing the scene on the porch at the end of ch42 when I was writing kravitz's dialogue and was like..... oh shit that's a thing huh. Bc he is, y'know, quite literally housebound and limited in what he can do in a lot of ways, which is part of the reason I really tried to hammer home in that chapter that even though the fic ends with him being 'cured' (because that ending was always the intention from day one before I ever thought about this reading), they would have been happy together regardless. Love is not conditional!
Post-canon thoughts:
Taako and kravitz go into the house. Kravitz says oh my god what is that smell. Taako says he made blueberry pie earlier. Kravitz says okay we're putting bedroom fun times on hold I need that RIGHT NOW
Kravitz eats way too much too fast and spends the rest of the afternoon curled up on the sofa with a horrible stomach ache. He is not used to that much rich food. Taako is not impressed with this
He rolls his eyes and they watch a movie and talk instead and get to the bedroom fun times later
On the topic of food you Know krav ends up with a bit of a tummy from taako spoiling him. He looks & feels great and taako loves how comfy he is
Also on the topic of bodies I think krav does a lot of experimenting initially with what feels good now that he has a lot more freedom in presentation. He likes to mess with his hair a lot. Dresses and skirts are still a bad feel but a little makeup is fun sometimes. Kravitz living his best undeath 2k18 (I took so long to finish this fic it’s set 2 years ago now lmaoooo)
Kravitz lets taako drive him somewhere exactly Once before vowing NEVER AGAIN taako's driving privileges are REVOKED kravitz is going to get magnus to teach him to drive instead.
Taako says what the hell are you gonna do if you get pulled over you are a hundred and thirty and also dead you can't get a license. (He could get him a fake one, but he's not going to, because he's being petty about kravitz insulting his driving.) Kravitz says fine show me yours then. Taako says no but kravitz steals it anyway. A minute later he’s produced his own undoubtedly fake license out of nowhere complete with a fake DOB and a very nice picture
Taako says gasp kravitz that's ILLEGAL. Also you know you have to make this picture worse if you want it to be convincing right
Kravitz starts giving angus music lessons. Angus isn’t a natural by any means but he works hard and that gets him a long way
OH ACTUALLY I SHOULD PROBABLY SAY SMTH ABOUT THE REUNIONS HUH. GINNY THESE ARE FOR YOU:
Maybe it's weird to start with barry but the poor man has to have a sit down. He has so many questions. Kravitz what is the afterlife like it's fine you can tell him just give him a hint please and also can he maybe get like. A blood sample or something. No that's not weird it's for science what are you talking about taako bring him back
Kravitz is fully expecting lup to wreck his shit, and she acts like she's going to right up until she's close enough to give him a big ol hug instead. She says she missed him a lot & that he's much nicer to hug now that he's not a freezy boy, and kravitz goes ;_;
It's a very tight hug though. In some ways it is still a punishment
Also could he maybe hook her up with this death goddess of his? Lup would like to be immortal too, kravitz. Kravitz can you get a resume to your boss and could you write lup a reference while you're at it
Angus!! He’s so happy to have his other uncle back!! There’s a new caleb cleveland book he needs to read so they can talk about it!! All of this after a lot of crying and hugging.
I think at some point they do go over to visit mira’s descendants. Taako says hi remember me? I brought my boyfriend to visit! Unnamed great great grandchild #1 is like um he looks kind of familiar. Kravitz says well yes there is kind of a reason for that and it’s because I’m in that picture on the wall over there, hi I’m your great great grandfather nice to meet you
The family is a little weirded out by this at first but eventually they’re like. Well alright I guess do you want a coffee
Kravitz says yes please god do you know how many people keep offering me tea
He babysits for the youngest ones sometimes. The kids love him and the adults are happy to give him stories in exchange for his time, seeing as that’s all he asks for
Taako says ask them for money and contribute to this household kravitz. Kravitz says absolutely not they’re family and you’re already getting my youtube ad revenue
Yes kravitz has a youtube channel and is also very involved in the local music scene. He can’t do anything that would technically be classed as interfering with the flow of the living world but no-one said he can’t anonymously share some of his music here and there
Johann gets him a gig conducting for his orchestra every now and then. Kravitz is fucking ecstatic and finally gets to conduct some of his own pieces in front of an audience. Maybe they actually get to that biography johann mentioned at some point. Idk I haven’t thought about that part too much
Okay I wrote WAY more than I meant to here but I hope at least some of it was interesting and feel free to ask me questions if there are elements I’ve missed off of here that you want to hear more about! (Bearing in mind some of the answers may be “actual post canon content coming soon/later” lol.) As you can tell I have a lot of things to say about this fic & I’m always more than happy to hear that people are interested!! o:
A Reflection on Birthdays
Birthdays were the hardest.
Almost immediately after Bruce turned eighteen (eighteen years and 6 days) he left. There was little fanfare, a sparsely packed rucksack, and a hasty goodbye. And then Alfred was alone, standing in the gleaming manor kitchen, feeling utterly lost.
Not that he didn’t have purpose without Bruce. He was quite able to find fulfillment by himself, thank you very much. With the Master of the Manor gone, it was the perfect opportunity to leave, to travel, to bask in a Caribbean sun with a beautiful and witty lady friend.
But he couldn't work up the courage to go.
At first, it was reasonable. Master Bruce could return any day, after all. He would be heartbroken to come home to an empty house. But as days stretched on into weeks and months with no word, Alfred slowly tried to accept that Bruce, his son (if he were honest with his heart) was not returning any time soon. May never return.
So he left. Travelled in a daze. Back to London, across Europe. He told himself it was high time he relaxed. A lie, of course. Because everywhere he went he couldn’t stop scanning the crowds for a familiar face. His boy, just barely a man. He never appeared.
Eleven months passed. Then nearly twelve, and Alfred found himself drawn, slowly but surely, back to that grand old house. He told himself it was necessary to check in. Make sure the caretakers he left in his stead had followed instructions. Assure himself that his topiary had not overgrown.
Another lie.
Part of him longed for Bruce to come home for his 19th birthday. A special return. An acknowledgment of the family bond Alfred prayed they still shared. But the day came and went just like any other. Alfred felt foolish for even hoping. He tossed the carefully made cake into the garbage, and sadly put the candles away.
Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes, and he fixed his attention on the ceiling, taking a deep breath before putting a kettle onto an empty stove burner and lighting it.
He took his beaker of tea to the sitting room, planning on distracting himself with a good book, when a small piece of paper sticking out of the mail slot caught his eye. Upon closer inspection, he found it to be a postcard - a stunning scene of the Kusatsu hot springs in Japan. The message on the back was messy, and partially obscured by postage, but Alfred could make it out anyway.
“Doing well. Talk soon. Bruce.”
Alfred tucked the postcard into his pocket and smiled.
Birthdays were the hardest.
Richard Grayson was the most luminous spirit Alfred had ever encountered. Even after the murder of the boy’s parents, his brutalization at the hands of the residents at the Youth Detention Center, and the uprooting of his entire life, there was undeniable brightness inside him. An unquenchable fire that only reminded him of Master Bruce as a child because he was the absolute opposite. Any concerns Alfred had about Master Richard donning the Robin mantle vanished when he saw how simply joyful it made his young charge.
One morning, however, a few months after Master Bruce had taken the boy in, that gleaming essence seemed entirely gone. The boy sat, looking empty, staring at his untouched breakfast plate. Alfred took to one knee beside him and met the boy’s terribly lonely gaze.
“Master Richard, are you quite alright?”
At first the young one only shook his head. Then tears tipped over onto his cheeks. He scrunched his face tightly, trying and failing to force them back. Alfred watched and gently cupped the side of the boy’s face.
“Today is…” Dick began, “Today was...”
He took a heaving breath, steadying himself before continuing in a small voice.
“Today was my mom’s birthday. Or is. I’m not…”
He began crying in earnest. Heavy, grief stricken sobs weighed him down, and Alfred cradled him against his shoulder. All Alfred could do was hold him and stroke a calming hand down his back. When Dick’s wails had diminished to quiet sniffles, Alfred steadied him upright, holding his arms firmly, but with care.
“What was her favourite kind of cake,” Alfred asked with a small, careful smile.
“I don’t…” his breath hitched, like he might begin crying again, “I don’t know. We only ever had brownies ‘cause they were easy and I could help.” He wiped at his eyes hard with the heels of his palms, and Alfred produced a linen handkerchief from his pocket.
“Then,” Alfred said as he got to his feet and held out his hand to the boy, “let us make some brownies, shall we? Because someone as special as your mother deserves to be remembered in celebration.”
Tentatively, Dick nodded and smiled, then took Alfred’s hand, and they went to the kitchen together.
----------
Birthdays were the hardest.
If Master Richard was a sun, Master Jason was a supernova. All chaos and blinding fire. And gone in what seemed like an instant. The black hole left in his wake threatened to drag Master Bruce in and crush him. The haunted man that flew back from Ethiopia with a casket was not the same Bruce who left the manor just days before.
Master Jason had been headstrong, brilliant…
But the inescapable truth disembarked at Gotham International Airport.
Jason was dead.
The months that followed were dark. Bruce retreated deeper and deeper into his misery. When Master Richard learned of the tragedy and came to pull his mentor back to the light, it ended badly. Bruce struck him, and forced him from his home, intent on beating his rage-soaked anguish alone.
Alfred’s own grief had been eclipsed. Pushed into the shadows in order to keep Bruce from madness. But as the days slipped by, Alfred found himself staring at the calendar - one of the days had been circled in bright red, with a smiley face hovering over the words, “MY BIRTHDAY!!” His first instinct was to take the calendar down and dispose of it. If Master Bruce saw the barely legible scrawl that was Jason’s handwriting, it would only make matters worse.
He hesitated.
No, he concluded. Jason’s birthday would not be relegated to the dustbin because Master Bruce couldn’t cope with the truth that Master Jason had lived. He was loved, and he deserved to have his special day remembered.
Carefully, Alfred cut the calendar apart, saving the decorated square. He pulled out a photo album - his project to document Master Jason’s life with them so that, perhaps one day, Bruce may be able to look back on that time with fondness, not rage. He tucked the scrap of paper into a photo sleeve and captioned it, “Master Jason, excited for his 16th birthday.”
Then he slowly closed the album and cried.
----------
Birthdays were the hardest
The addition of Timothy Drake to their growing ’family’ was a singularly peculiar one, in large part due to the fact that Master Timothy still had a family of his own. Master Richard had lost his parents, and was subsequently lost, himself, in a savage system, Master Jason was long without a family, and had survived alone in homelessness and poverty. Master Timothy was, however, something of a next door neighbor. Ostensibly untouched by the cruelty that life could bring.
One particularly warm day in July, Alfred found Tim absorbed in his work in the dreadfully damp cave. “I trust you had a rather special day yesterday,” Alfred said as he placed a plate with small sandwiches on it next to the boy.
Without looking away from the computer, Timothy asked, “hm? Why’s that?”
“Birthdays do come but once a year, young master,” Alfred replied with a smile.
Tim rolled his chair back from the desk and looked at Alfred, confused, before recognition read in his features, “Oh. I guess it was my birthday.”
He shrugged, then returned his attention to the readout on the monitor in front of him.
“Your parents didn’t celebrate with you,” Alfred asked, incredulous.
“Nah. They're in Switzerland, I think? Somewhere in Europe for sure. Birthdays just aren't that big of a deal.”
Timothy’s face and posture contradicted his blasè statement. He looked defeated, and his shoulders slumped. Alfred felt something tighten in his chest, an emotion between anger and sadness he couldn’t quite place. The boy’s parents had abandoned him. On his birthday. A milestone Alfred had come to cherish for each of his charges, and one he had learned to never take for granted.
He feigned aloof disinterest and let Tim return to his case without further comment. Once out of sight, he rushed upstairs and set to work.
On any other day, he would have bristled at the mere mention of a boxed mix cake, but time was of the essence. So he pulled out a brightly colored package that touted the “chocolatey-est” formula and whipped it together, then popped it into cupcake molds (they bake and cool faster, after all), slid them into the oven, and waited. He hoped they would be finished in time.
Making the icing was a simple matter, accomplished while the small cakes cooled on a rack. At last, and perhaps a little too soon, he piped the vanilla frosting on top in an intricate swirl, dusted the cupcakes with sprinkles, and headed back down to the cave with candles in hand.
Tim hadn’t moved.
“You’ll find, young master, that birthdays matter a great deal in this household, and will not be forgotten.” Alfred placed a candle in the center of one of the cupcakes and lit it. “Happy Birthday, Master Timothy. You will make a wish.”
Tentatively, Tim blew out the candle and accepted the cupcake, then went back to his work. Alfred sighed and turned to head back up to the manor. He couldn’t force the boy to see the importance of small things like this. He would have to come to it on his own.
“Hey Alfred,” Tim called before he’d gotten too far away.
“Yes, Master Timothy?”
A small sniffle betrayed the boy, and he quietly said, “Thank you. It means a lot.”
With a smile, Alfred replied, “You are quite welcome.”
—————
Birthdays were the hardest
Alfred wasn’t proud to admit it, but he struggled to find fondness for Damian Wayne the same way he had for his other charges. The boy brought with him an unpalatable arrogance and he practically reeked of unrestrained violence. Present in him was none of Bruce’s sense of justice; no light or fire like Dick and Jason had carried. Nor any of the deep curiosity that followed Master Timothy.
In short, the Damian Wayne that had quite suddenly arrived at the manor was cruel.
Alfred barely had any time to adjust before another tragedy befell their family. Master Bruce was gone. And Dick was left wearing shoes he never wanted to fill.
Master Richard tried. He worked diligently, every day, to show Damian that the world was not a bleak landscape to conquer. Did everything in his power to teach him that family did not mean pain and relentless training. Even as the man Alfred was so very proud of struggled with his own twin griefs - the loss of another father and the loss of the autonomy he held so dear - Master Richard showed Damian unconditional love. As time went on, however, Alfred began to fear that Bruce’s youngest son was a lost cause.
But life continues, even in the absence of loved ones. February’s frigid air had set upon the manor, and Alfred made his rounds winterizing the grand old home, drawing the heavy curtains over the leaded windows in lesser used rooms to hold the line against drafts. He was somewhat surprised to find Damian in the library, sitting on the floor in front of the fire with photo albums stacked up around him. For a moment, Alfred feared the boy might burn the precious momentos, but there was something approaching tenderness in the way he flipped through the pages, pausing on each one to survey the pictures.
“I can hear you watching me, Pennyworth,” Damian said without looking up.
“Indeed,” Alfred replied without elaboration. He was in no mood to go rounds with the boy, and even the simplest conversations with him often ended in an argument. So he held his tongue and set to his task.
“Richard suggested I use some of my free time to study the other half of my lineage, and sent me here.” Damian lifted one of the albums, an old one from Bruce’s childhood. “Father was an unattractive baby.”
“All babies are unattractive, Master Damian,” Alfred said tiredly. “It’s part of their charm.”
“I was unaware today was Father’s birthday.”
The statement was quiet. Alfred almost missed it over the crackling of the logs in the fireplace. Damian’s voice lacked all of the pomposity that had become integral to his speech. He sounded every bit the child he was, and warm fondness tugged at Alfred’s heart.
“That it is,” Alfred confirmed as he walked to Damian’s side. With hesitation, he put his hand on the boy’s shoulder.
“Perhaps we should celebrate it. Richard has been overly sentimental lately, and the display may help him regain what little emotional mastery he typically possesses.” The haughtiness was back in Damian’s statement, but Alfred could finally see it for what it was - a crumbling shield disguising a small, frightened boy.
Deciding to play along with the pretense, Alfred sighed. “Yes, Master Richard is often known for deep sentimentality. Though I personally find it to be one of his greatest strengths. Regardless, I agree, a celebration is in order.
With a final, curt nod, Damian gathered the photo albums together and carried them back to their home in an old wooden trunk. Together, he and Alfred walked down the hall - not hand in hand, but at least side by side.
“What was Father’s preferred confection?” Damian asked as they entered the gleaming kitchen.
“I’m not entirely sure,” Alfred lied, “but perhaps you can help me make brownies.”
Damian shrugged, “that would be acceptable.”
And though it was a day saturated in grief, Alfred couldn’t help but feel a genuine smile blossom on his face as he showed his grandson, hand over hand, how to make something sweet together.
Perhaps this was a birthday that wouldn't be quite so hard, after all.
