As I understand it you’re probs going with Lucanis for a romance on your first run!! What in particular drew you to him as your first romance? (This is also free permission to gush about him from what little we know!)
hello! ◕‿◕ ooh hhh this is such a fun question, thanku (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)
soo for this I'm stuck between Lucanis, Taash, Davrin, Bellara and Neve HHH. (which is a fantastic problem to have tbc /pos). aa they are all so 😳😳..
for Lucanis, what I like about him is the character he displayed in TN. in his short story he was really cool and interesting. he's badass - who can't love a dude who makes evil magisters shit themselves in fear just by the mention of his name - but he also has a soft heart.
Lucanis stared ahead, focused and intense. He was the kind of man you couldn’t look away from—until he looked at you. --- Lucanis exhaled through his nose. “If someone wants to pay me top coin to kill a bunch of racist blood mages—who have it coming—I’m not going to complain.” --- The word quit sparked some life in the Wigmaker’s blank expression. “So, the crow thinks he can best the dragon?” “The crow,” Lucanis mocked, “knows it.” --- “Death is my calling”
like... ok sir 😳
but he's also really funny, in that dry or wry blunt sort of way.
The mage was coming to. His unfocused eyes took stock of his situation. “I won’t talk,” he spat. “Even if you torture me.” “I’m too busy to torture you,” Lucanis said, and ran him through with his sword. --- “So, the Wigmaker.” Illario wiggled his fingers ominously. “Tell me about him.” “He’s weird,” Lucanis replied bluntly. --- Don’t think about it. Lucanis took a deep breath and flung himself off the roof. --- Lucanis thought about securing the entrance—leaving it unlocked could raise suspicion—but chose not to in case Illario decided to work tonight. --- “Eight marks the final kill,” Illario said, coming to stand next to him. He dusted off his palms. “Do you still recite that old nursery rhyme? The one Caterina made us memorize during training?” Lucanis moved to retrieve his throwing knives. “What can I say? It’s catchy.” --- Illario rolled his eyes. “You know what I mean. The Venatori already have your name. If they learn your face—” “I’ll grow a beard.” --- Ambrose threw down the matted mess. “Lucanis Dellamorte, I presume?” “Sì,” Lucanis answered, knowing even a single syllable of a foreign language would disgust the Wigmaker. It had the desired effect—Ambrose recoiled as if he’d stepped in urine. “Is this your handiwork?” “Sì.” The mage’s jaw pulsed. “You think you can come into my Imperium and act as judge and executioner?” Lucanis opened his mouth to respond, but Ambrose anticipated his answer. “Don’t say, ‘Sì!’” That earned a genuine smile from Lucanis. “Normally, there’s no judgment—only a contract. But for you, Ambrose, I made an exception.” --- While hunting his mark, Lucanis had opened the wrong door and walked into an orgy. Getting out of that had been interesting. --- That’s it. Lucanis smiled encouragingly. Good little demons.
😭😭 lmao pls
what sent me over the edge into wanting to romance territory though is some of the things we learned about him, or the way he was described ig, during the DA:TV marketing era: "lacks social skills", loves coffee, "the sole dumpster fire of the crew" written specifically by Mary Kirby to be a "bisexual disaster of a human", that he's short and has a mullet. what can i say ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ
how about you? :D is there a character in particular that you plan to romance during your first playthrough? ^^

scream masterlist | prev. part | next part
004. red right hand - nick cave & the bad seeds
‘you'll see him in your nightmares.
‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’
Those words were written on the wall, a ghostface spray painted just above the chilling question in an old alleyway.
Everywhere you looked something screamed at you to run the other way. You walked alongside Tara and Sam, the younger of the two holding onto your hand, afraid that you would disappear in a blink of an eye.
“Jason and Greg were little Atlantan rich boys.” Gale explained as she walked ahead of everyone, guiding you all into the warehouse. “They used fake names to rent this place.”
“How did you find it?” Kirby questioned, jogging forward to walk beside Gale.
“It’s called investigative journalism for a reason, how didn’t you find it? Weren’t you tracking them?”
“I went through their financial records dozens of times and this was not in any of them.” Kirby huffed as she looked up at the warehouse. “It doesn't make sense.”
“Don’t worry,” Gale smiled feigning sympathy, “I’m just really good at my job, you’ll get there.”
Gale pulled a key card from her bag and opened the door to the warehouse, the rest of you following the woman inside. Gale also grabbed a flashlight, turning it on so she could guide the rest of the way.
“What is this place?” Sam asked as she walked in, looking around at the cobweb littered walls. “What’s with all the security?”
Gale switched on the lights allowing you to finally see what you had just walked into.
“It’s a movie theatre.” Tara stated as she looked around.
“It’s not just a theatre. It's a shrine.” Gale said, nodding to the memorabilia placed all around the theatre.
Your head snapped to the stage, watching as the curtains rose up to show nine mannequins with black cloaks, the ghostface masks missing.
Interested, you took a few cautious steps forward, each item was from the past ghostface’s and their victims.
“They’ve got the whole damn franchise.” Mindy spoke loudly as she walked around, taking in everything that she could.
“Chad.” Mindy gasped softly.
“Hmm?” The boy replied.
“This was uncle Randy’s.” Mindy said, looking at an old t-shirt. “They’ve got everything.”
“Is that-” Tara started, looking over at Kirby.
“The knife I was stabbed with.” Kirby finished, a sorrowful look on her face.
“You have all been through so much.” Bailey said, looking around the room.
“Who drew all these- woah wait.” Mindy said, cutting herself off as she looked intently at an old photo.
“What’s up?” Sam asked, looking over to the girl.
“There’s a child in this.”
Your head snapped up from looking at an old piece of memorabilia and at Mindy. There's only one child who that could be. You.
“What the hell?” Chad mumbled, walking over to his sister so he could have a look himself.
“Y/n? Is that- is that you?” Mindy questioned, looking backwards and forwards from the photo to you.
“I uh- I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You replied, turning your focus onto something else.
“This kid. It looks like you.” Mindy persisted.
You knew you would have to share your secret some time soon but you weren't ready for it to be this soon. You turned your head to Kirby who gave you a discrete nod then you looked at Gale, the older woman giving you a warm smile.
“Okay, I- yeah it’s me.” You said, suddenly finding the floor very interesting.
“What the hell.” Chad exclaimed, looking over to you. “Y/n-”
“Look- I- I’m sorry, okay! I just didn’t know how to tell you-” You said, trying to explain as you walked towards the two only for them to take a step back.
Taking the hint you stood in your place, in the middle of the theatre, with everybody watching you. You internally chuckled, this all seemed like some horrible play and you had no way out of it.
“That your sister was a Ghostface?!” Mindy said loudly, hands raised beside her.
“Half sister. Different dads.” You mumbled with a shrug.
“Y/n, why wouldn’t you tell us?” Tara questioned quietly, as if her voice was going to break if she spoke any louder. She was going to move towards you, only to be stopped by Sam.
“I tried to.” You said, heart breaking at all of your friends looking at you as if you were the killer. “I really did- you have to believe me.”
“Y/n-” Sam tried.
“Please.” You said, voice cracking as you tried not to cry.
Sam looked hesitant and so did Tara, although the two of them wanted to comfort you, they didn’t know whether to trust you.
“You don’t trust me, do you?” You stated, voice breaking as tears brimmed your eyes as you looked around at your friends.
“Y/n-”
“It's fine.” You sniffled, wiping away your tears. “It’s fine.”
You looked at everyone around you, feeling like the walls were caving in and you needed to escape, but you didn’t know where to go so you went up onto the stage.
Everyone watched you, moving out of your way as you passed them, as if you had something contagious.
Your heart cracked, you looked back at the people who you once called your friends before standing in front of the ghostface mannequins.
It suddenly felt as if you were under water, you could hear people talking but their voices were muffled. You could also feel eyes on the back of your head, as if it were a target.
You looked at the past ghostfaces, stopping in front of one that had left you in a trance but to you it was more of a nightmare.
Jill’s name was shown at the bottom of the costume, a shiver went down your spine at the memories of that night. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, trying to not let your mind slip back to that time.
But it was no use.
You sat on the floor, hands and feet bound with duct tape, along with your mouth. Your eyes were red raw, tears flowing down your cheeks as you looked up to your older sister.
The person you used to look up to the most stabbed her accomplice. He doubled over in pain, bleeding from where Jill had stabbed him, right in the heart, a look of betrayal flickering over his expression.
“There’s been a change of plans.” Jill smiled manically. “The problem with you Charlie, it’s always been about killing Sidney Prescott. My plan is a little bigger. I’m going to become her.”
And with that, Jill stabbed him again. Charlie couldn’t believe what was happening as he stared at the woman, stunned and shocked. Before falling back and crumbling to the floor.
Jill looked down at him with a glimmer of diabolical glee. She gave his body a quick kick with her foot but his body didn't move. The realisation crossing your face, he's dead and your sister had killed him.
“How did you turn into this?” Sidney asked, looking between Jill and Charlie's now dead body, a glimpse of you being caught in the corner of her eye.
“Nothing is ever what it seems. Your words, Sidney. I've always been this. You know what it's like growing up related to you? All you hear is Sidney this, Sidney that, Sidney, Sidney...You were always so fucking special. Now it's my turn.”
You watched on in fear, Jill taking her knife and pointing it at Sidney, a sickening smile taking form on her face.
“And now you have to die. Those are the rules.”
“What rules?”
“There's only room for one lead. Let's face it, Sid, your ingenue days are over.”
Jill advanced on Sidney, stabbing her with the knife. The older woman gasped in pain leading Jill to stab her again. Sidney dropped to her knees, now losing a lot of blood but desperately trying to stay awake.
Then everything felt as if it moved in slow motion, Sidney’s body fell limp to the floor, you looked at her hopefully, begging for her to get up but she didn’t move.
You let out a scream, the duct tape against your mouth preventing you from being too loud but the sound still startled Jill.
Her head snapped towards you and it was as if her gaze softened but you knew that was too good to be true.
Jill made her way to you, kneeling in front of you. You tried to back away in fear but you couldn’t do anything due to the duct tape around your wrists and ankles.
“Oh, my sweet baby sister.” Jill said sweetly, holding a hand up to your cheek.
You flinched away, even more tears falling from your eyes as you whimpered at the sight of Jill. You looked into her eyes, trying to find the Jill who was once your sister, your best friend, but she was nowhere to be seen.
“I really wish I didn't have to do this.” Jill said sadly and you would’ve believed her if it wasn't for the sickening smile on her face.
You violently shook your head from side to side as you watched Jill edge her knife closer and closer to your side, just under your ribs. You squirmed, kicked, thrashed and screamed, begging Jill with your eyes not to do it.
But she didn't listen. Her knife went into your side and then everything went black.
“So somebody killed these chuckle fucks and took over?” Chad questioned, snapping you out of your haze.
You turned to see that everyone was now on the stage, each of them going backwards and forwards from eyeing you up to looking at a mannequin.
“Someone who believes that Sam masterminded woodsboro and perhaps Y/n now too.” Gale said.
“Wait what?” You questioned turning around to face the older woman, shocked at the statement but you cowered back as everyone's eyes turned to you.
“If this were a normal stab movie, this would be the killer's lair.” Mindy explained from where she stood, giving you a quick side eye.
“Which means this isn’t a normal stab movie.” Kirby added.
Tara breathed heavily, looking between you and her sister before storming off. You went to go after her but after a hard look from Sam you realised you weren’t wanted.
You gave a silent nod, tears forming back in your eyes as the back of your throat burned. You could feel your heart rate increasing, your hands going clammy as your breathing picked up. The theatre walls closing in on you. Not being able to breathe, you looked at everyone before you ran out on your own.
Finally getting to somewhere where you could calm down, you placed your hand against a wall and took in a deep breath. You were startled by the sound of your phone ringing and you already knew who it was.
Pulling your phone out of your pocket, you answered the call, squeezing your eyes shut, you prepared for their voice.
“Y/n, y/n, y/n.” Ghostface tutted. “Walking off on your own, very brave choice.”
“Yeah, well I like my chances.”
“I wouldn’t get so comfortable.”
“Okay… you’re boring me.” You huffed, taking your phone away from your ear and ending the call.
“Wait wha-”
You shook your head with a sigh, placing your phone back in your pocket before walking back to where everyone was. You saw Gale and Kirby making their way to Sam and Tara so you thought you’d tag along.
The older women both made sure you were okay and with a nod of your head, they knew that you were alright.
“I’m sorry.” You heard Sam whisper to Tara.
“Just drop it Sam.” The younger Carpenter said before walking away from her sister.
“Tara-”
“We’ve got her.” Kirby smiled, motioning to you beside her.
Sam gave you a look but you walked off with Kirby before she could do anything about it leaving her with Gale.
You found Tara sitting by herself, at the top of the theatre, looking down at the stage all caught in her thoughts.
She heard the two of you coming so you sent her a small smile but you didn’t make your way towards her, opting to stay by the door as Kirby sat beside her.
“How’d you get past what happened to you?” Tara questioned, picking at the skin around her fingers.
“I almost died after I was stabbed.” Kirby said. “Technically I did die. For four minutes. When I recovered I got mad. I didn't want to spend the rest of my life being afraid of monsters. I wanted the monsters to be afraid of me.”
“I like that.” Tara said, clearing her throat before she turned to you. “What about you y/n? You’ve been through this twice.”
“Oh I uh- I-” You struggled, not knowing if Tara actually cared or if she was feeling sympathetic. “I’m the same as Kirby, I almost died but I didn't want to let that determine the way I lived the rest of my life. I mean yeah, sure, it sucked and it took a hell of a lot of therapy to get over my sister stabbing me but I got there in the end.”
The three of you were snapped out of your little bubble when you heard the doors open, Bailey, Sam and Gale walking towards you three.
“Sorry to interrupt.” Bailey said, the two women walking behind him. “But I think I have an idea about how to turn the tables on this creep.”
“Yeah.” Gale agreed. “And we’re in.”
“Sorry Gale, no press allowed.” Kirby said, raising her hands to the side. “Police business. I’m good at my job too.”
“Ooh, she got you there.” You chuckled.
“Okay, so let's go.” Tara said, finding a new determination in her.
“About that,” you mumbled, scratching the back of your neck, “I’m going to stay with Gale, if that’s okay?”
“Of course.” Gale beamed.
“No, y/n. We need to keep an eye on you.” Sam said.
“Wha-”
“I can handle myself, Sam.” Gale said, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder.
“You text or call if anything happens.” Sam said firmly, giving you one last look before walking out with Tara, Bailey and Kirby hot on her tail.
“They’ll come around eventually.” Gale said softly, feeling your shoulders deflate.
“Yeah.” You sighed sadly, kicking the ground by your feet.
“C’mon, what do you want to do?”
“I’m not sure.”
“Take out back at mine?”
“Uh, yeah. That sounds like a good idea.”
The two of you made your way out of the theatre and into Gale’s car. The both of you sat in silence but it wasn't awkward, it was comforting. Your head rested on the car window, watching everything go by as you were stuck in your thoughts.
The journey to her apartment wasn’t long and before you knew it, you were riding the elevator up to her floor.
After Gale unlocked her door, she let you in first. You took in your surroundings and chuckled at how poor you were compared to Gale.
“So this is what it must be like to be really, really rich.” You said, walking into the living room.
“Being a reporter has its perks.” Gale said, giving you a teasing smile.
“It sure does.”
“I never got to ask you about the attack at Sam and Tara’s apartment, and with everything that happened earlier, how are you?” Gale questioned, sitting beside you on her sofa with her laptop in hand.
“I’ve been better but it’s nothing I can’t handle.”
“You miss her, don’t you?”
“Who, Jill-?”
“No. Sid.” Gale said with a sad smile on her face. “She’s been with you through it all and this is your first time without her.”
“Of course I miss her.” You said, fiddling with the fabric of your top. “But she needs to stay safe, away from here. Away from me.”
“She misses you too. And don't think like that.” Gale said, her gaze on you softening. “She changed her number, I can give it to you if you’d like.”
“I’m not sure.” You said, playing with your fingers.
“Just give me your phone.” Gale said, holding her hand out.
“Okay.” You said reluctantly, placing your phone in her hand.
“Thank you.” Gale said, quickly typing in Sidney’s number before handing your phone back to you.
“I don’t think I ever said thank you. For everything, back in two-thousand and eleven, last year and now today. So, thank you.”
“You don’t need to thank me, y/n. I’ll always be there for you, just like Sid.”
“Although you may still see me as a nine year old, I've got your back too.”
“How about, when this is all over, you can come and live with me? Only if you’d like to of course.” Gale said, nudging you with her elbow.
“I’d like that.” You smiled.
“Now, ‘no press’, who does Kirby think she is?” Gale huffed, opening her laptop. “Bitch, last time I saw you, you were in glee club.”
You shook your head with a smile, leaning back on the sofa to get a look at what Gale was doing.
“Forgive me if I don't trust you to keep them safe.” Gale went on to imitate Kirby.
“I’m going to order food, do you want anything?” You asked, opening up your phone.
“Oh, yes please, I'm fine with whatever.”
“Okay.”
You looked through a couple of take out places but ultimately decided on pizza. You placed your order and put on a movie to kill some time.
After about half an hour you got thirsty so you got up from your spot to get a glass of water, as you were about to ask if Gale wanted one, your phone started ringing.
“Your phone, y/n.” Gale said, looking up from her laptop.
“You can answer it.” You replied, finishing your drink and putting the glass in the sink.
“Hello?” Gale answered.
“Hello, Gale. It's strange that you and I have never spoken on the phone. This is long overdue.”
“Who is it?” You asked, walking over to the woman as you watched her shoot out of her seat.
“It’s Ghostface.” Gale mouthed.
“Shit.” You muttered. “Give the phone to me.”
“I agree.” Gale replied over the phone, holding a hand up to you as she shook her head.
“I figured after all these years you’d want an interview.”
“I’m going to call the police.” You whispered, picking up Gale’s home phone before walking out of the room.
“You figured right.” Gale said, looking at her phone as it buzzed on the coffee table, Sam’s name coming up as the contact. “So what's your motive this time? You angry at the movies or are you just trying to stay relevant?”
“Well I could ask you the same. Don't you know the legacy characters are disposable now. Nobody cares about last century's heroes.”
“Then why bother with me at all?”
“Call it nostalgia. Or maybe you deserve to be punished for all that money you made off the misery of others. Maybe it's time someone made a buck reporting your death.”
“You know you're like the tenth guy to try this right. And spoiler alert, it never works out for the dip-shit in the mask.”
“Oh but they certainly leave a mark before they go, don’t they? Richie and Amber managed to butcher Dewey, carved him up like a christmas goose. How does it feel to lose the only man who ever loved you?”
“Fuck you.”
“How does it feel to know that you weren’t there for him at the end? Not there to give him comfort as he died screaming in his own guts.”
“You’re the one who’s gonna die screaming.”
“Maybe, but you won’t be there to see it. You couldn’t stop what happened to Dewey. Just like you wont be able to stop what’s coming.”
“Hey, the police are on their way.” You said quietly, running back in the room.
“Is that, y/n I hear?”
“What do you want?” Gale questioned.
“How about you put them on the phone.”
“No chance.”
“Oh, I'd do it if I were you, Gale.”
“Fine.” Gale reluctantly said, handing you your phone.
“Hey, Ghosty.” You said, taking your phone from Gale and holding up to your ear.
“Hello, y/n. How’s it feel to be cut off from the friendship group?”
“How do you know about that?”
“Oh I know everything. I thought you would know that by now.”
“I guess so.”
“Now, how about a game of hide and seek?”
“I’m sorry?”
“I’m hiding, you come find me.”
“And why would I want to do that?”
“Because I'll gut you like a fish before you have the chance to step foot out of this apartment!” The Ghostface said loudly down the phone. “So, y/n, let me try that again. Do you want to play hide and seek? I’ll make it easier for you by saying if you’re hot or cold.”
“How about a game of Marco Polo. I think that’s a little more interesting.”
“Or I can go back to the originals and ask, what’s your favourite scary movie? It doesn't work like that, y/n. You play by my rules. Hide. And. Seek.”
“You really are a sick fuck.”
“Cold.” Ghostface said, ignoring you and starting the game of hide and seek.
You sighed to yourself, walking towards the kitchen where Gale looked at you with confusion written all over her face.
“Colder.”
“What's going on?” Gale mouthed.
“Hide and seek.” You mouthed back.
“Y/n, no!”
“I’ll be fine, just wait here.”
“What’s taking you so long, y/n?”
“Taking a stroll, you impatient fuckface.” You replied, walking back to the living room.
“Warmer.”
You walked back to where you had called the police, and came across multiple doors, one on your left, two on your right and one at the end of the hall.
You opened the first on your right, only for it to be an empty bathroom.
“Warmer.”
The next one you opened was the one on your left, again empty.
“Warmer.”
You decided to go for the one at the very end of the hall but it was empty too, only leaving one door left to open.
As you grasped the handle you let out a shaky breath, pulling it open with speed.
“Bingo.” Ghostface said, ending the call as they jumped out of the cupboard, stabbing you in the stomach.
“Ah! Fuck!” You yelled, holding your stomach as you fell to the floor, the ghostface standing over you menacingly.
The Ghostface tilted their head to the side, preparing the knife in their hand to bring it down onto your body.
Gale, from the other room, heard your scream and rushed towards you. Stopping in her tracks seeing the Ghostface next to you.
The Ghostface turned their head towards Gale, tilting to the side slightly, looking backwards and forwards from you and Gale.
Their shoulders sagged, shaking their head as they looked down at your body before speeding their way over to Gale, leaving you to bleed out on the floor.
“Gale.” You shouted weakly, desperately trying to stop the bleeding from your abdomen.
If being stabbed once in one day wasn't bad enough, it just had to happen again. You could hear things crashing in the kitchen along with Gale’s attempt to keep the Ghostface away from her.
Using all of your strength, you opened a door that led you to Gale’s bedroom. You pulled yourself along the floor and situated yourself in her walk-in closet.
You let yourself breathe for a moment, looking down at your wound when you let out a small grunt as you applied more pressure, your head slowly starting to become dizzy as you felt your eyelids drooping.
All of a sudden, the heavy breaths of Gale became closer, the woman running into her walk-in closet and slamming the door behind her, making sure it was locked.
“Oh God, Y/n!” Gale said worriedly, rushing over to you, applying pressure on your wound.
“I’m fine, Gale.” You said, struggling to form a sentence as you looked over to the door where the Ghostface pounded on it relentlessly.
“No you're not! Oh God! You have to stay with me!”
“Gale, deal with the Ghostface, I promise I'm fine, I just need to catch my breath.” You said, placing a hand over hers and giving it a gentle squeeze.
Gale gave you a reluctant nod before getting up and opening up a cupboard where inside was a case containing her gun. The case had a lock on it, causing Gale to try a few times before she could finally open it.
Once she had the gun out of the box, she shot towards the door and at the Ghostface and it all went quiet.
“How’s that for nostalgia, fucker!” Gale shouted, tightening her grip on the gun.
Letting out heavy breaths, you finally thought you were safe but you should’ve known that the Ghostface wouldn’t have given up that easily. The sound of a phone ringing causes both you and Gale to jump.
The older woman looked to her side, where the phone sat, right next to a picture of her and Dewey. Keeping her gun facing the door, she walked over to the phone and picked it up.
“You missed.”
“Sure I did.” Gale replied sarcastically.
“You win, I'm in the elevator heading for the ground floor.”
“Sure you are.” Gale scoffed, making her way towards the door shooting at it once again.
“Maybe you did hit me. Maybe I'm wounded. Or maybe I'm wearing a bulletproof vest.”
“That’s why I’m going to shoot you in the fucking head!” Gale shouted, opening the door.
“Gale no!” You yelled, finding some strength in you to pull you up to your feet. You held onto the wall, walking slowly after Gale, watching as she made her way back into the living room.
“You would’ve made a good killer Gale. Sidney would never have made sense and Dewey was a fan favourite but you cracking under the pressure and turning into Ghostface would've been a great twist.”
“Keep talking, asshole.” Gale said, manoeuvring further into the living room. You couldn't keep up with her, having to lean your back against the wall to catch your breath.
“Mhm, sure.” They chuckled. “What do you wanna talk about? You never got to be the leading lady, did you? It was always about poor sweet Sidney sucking up all the oxygen and what did that leave you to be?”
“The brains and the sex appeal.” Gale deadpanned.
“Sorry for stabbing y/n. Being through all this twice didn’t help much.”
“It sure didn’t.”
The Ghostface didn’t reply, not with words, they just laughed over the phone.
“Can you hold please?” Gale asked rhetorically.
“What?”
Gale took the phone away from her ear, dialling her home number causing a phone to ring in another room. Gale turned around fast, shooting at where the noise came from which was soon followed by a groan and a thump.
The ringing continued as she made her way to the door but as she went to open the door, the Ghostface jumped out and stabbed her in the shoulder. She tried to shoot them but they knocked her gun from her hand.
Hearing Gale let out a guttering scream, you pushed yourself off the wall and made your way to her as quickly as you could.
You rounded the corner and saw Gale sitting on the floor, her back to a wall as the Ghostface plunged their knife into her side, just like they did to you.
“Gale!” You said, walking over to her but you were weak, your legs giving out underneath you causing you to tumble to the floor. “Fuck!”
Gale had managed to push the Ghostface off her and she tried to make a run for it but they were hot on her tail. She smacked a vase over their head, but they still got up.
She ran around her living room, desperately trying to get away but the Ghostface caught up to her. Before they could stab her, Gale flipped them over her shoulder and they smashed into her coffee table. The Ghostface knocked out cold.
Gale looked to her side, seeing you struggle to get to your feet. She made her way towards you and the two of you met in the middle. You laid on your back, staring at the ceiling as Gale sat on her knees applying pressure to your wound.
“You promised me.” Gale sobbed, watching as blood slipped through her fingers. “You promised me you were fine!”
“I am.” You reassured. “I am, now go finish the job.”
“You better be awake by the time I get back.” Gale said, looking intently into your eyes.
“I will, I'm coming to live with you, remember?”
“Do not close your eyes!” Gale said, crawling away from you and back to the Ghostface.
She picked up their knife, looking back at you once before she brought it down onto the Ghostface. However, before she could make contact, the Ghostface picked up a shard of glass and stabbed it into her abdomen.
You heard Gale let out a low groan but you couldn't move, a lone tear falling from the corner of your eye.
The Ghostface took back their knife and went to push it onto Gale’s head but she used all the strength she had left and held the knife away.
“Fuck you!” Gale whispered tiredly.
When you thought the Ghostface was going to kill her, you heard Sam and Tara run into the apartment.
“Hey, fuckface!” Sam shouted, picking up Gale’s gun and shooting it at the Ghostface.
The masked killer quickly got up and ran away, dodging bullets that were firing their way.
“Gale!” Tara exclaimed, rushing over to the woman, Sam following quickly after.
“Shit! Gale!” Sam said, placing pressure on Gale’s wound causing her to groan. “Sorry. I'm sorry. I should’ve known he was going to come after you, I'm so sorry.”
“He didn’t get me. Tell Sidney, he never got me.”
“Hey, no you’ve got to stay awake.” Sam said, watching as Gale slowly closed her eyes.
“Y/n.” Gale said, fighting to stay awake but she finally let her eyes drop and sleep overcome her.
“Gale! No, Gale!” Sam exclaimed.
“Shit!” Tara panicked, looking around her. “Where’s y/n?”
Tara spotted you behind a chair, blood pooling all around you as you didn’t move.
“Y/n!” Tara shouted, rushing over to you. “No, no, no, no. Please stay awake. Please.”
“They’ve got terrible aim.” You croaked, a small smile forming on your face as you placed a hand over Tara’s.
“I’m sorry, God I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry.” Tara cried, trying to stop the bleeding from your stomach as tears rolled down her cheeks.
“It’s okay.” You grunted as Tara applied more pressure. “Maybe this proves that I'm not the killer.”
“Even when you’re dying, you still annoy me.”
“You love me.” You smirked. “Even if you won’t admit it to me yet, I know you do.”
“I should’ve believed you.” Tara said, crying even harder. “I do, I do believe you now. I promise, now you’ve got to stay awake, okay? You’ve got to.”
You heard the elevator ding, two paramedics rushing into Gale’s apartment. One going to Gale the other over to you.
“Out of the way.” The paramedics said to Tara and Sam.
“No!” Tara shouted, trying to stay as close to you as possible and Sam did the same thing with Gale.
You placed your hand on Tara’s arm giving her a look. She shook her head, tears flowing even faster now but you persisted and she eventually gave in.
Tara walked over to her sister, the older girl pulling her into her arms as the two of them watched as the paramedics tended to you and Gale.
“Checking.” One paramedic said, putting two fingers to Gales' pulse point. “We’ve got a weak pulse. Get the back board, we need to move now.”
Sam let out a teary sigh, nodding her head finally calm knowing that Gale was okay but then her attention turned to you.
Tara couldn't seem to keep her eyes off you, afraid that if she did you wouldn't make it.
You weren't sure what happened next. One moment police officers and paramedics were rushing into Gale’s apartment and then the next- well, you didn’t know.
Everything was white.

Y/N AND ETHAN WOKE UP AT THE SOUND OF THEIR PHONES RINGING. The girl groaned in annoyance as she reached for the device laying on the drawer. Ethan mumbled something under his breath before grabbing Y/N by the waist to push her against his bare chest again.
The girl laughed kissing his cheek “Eth, it might be important” she whispered. He sighed, letting her go. She took her phone and read the texts that were sent to the group as Ethan pressed short kisses on her neck.

“Why didn’t you get rid of Mindy instead of Anika?” Y/N groaned as they made their way to the shower. “I actually really liked Anika. And my patience with Mindy is running out. I swear next time she says something mean to you I-“
He cut her off with a kiss “God, I love it when you get protective” he pressed against the wall of the shower.
“The shower is for showering, babe” she pulled away.
“Can’t help it” he said kissing her neck and shoulders. Y/N smirked as she turned on the cold water, Ethan quickly stepped back.
“Y/N! What was that for?” he glared at her.
“You are in desperate need of a cold shower” she laughed “Come on, we need to hurry. Your dad said it was important for us to be there”.
Ethan sighed in defeat “Fine”.
“I promise that once this is over, I’ll let you do whatever you want to me” she gave him a peck.
“Anything?” he smirked.
“Anything” she confirmed.
QUINN ATTACKED GALE AT HER HOUSE, ALMOST BEING SUCCESSFUL IN KILLING HER. Right now, the whole group, minus officer Bailey and Kirby, were at the hospital lounge, waiting for any news on the reporter’s health.
Y/N and Ethan were internally fuming. How many fucking lives did Gale Weathers have? It was ridiculous. Though, they really enjoyed seeing Sam’s guiltiness eat her alive.
"What do we do know?" Y/N asked, sitting on Ethan’s lap. He tightened his grip on the girl's frame as she drew invisible circles on his chest.
"Maybe he gets to win this time" Sam said, her voice was a bit shaky. They all looked at her as if she was crazy. "He wants to punish me. Me. So maybe I'll let him. I'll just give myself up. If this is what I have to do, to keep you safe, it's worth it".
"First of all, you are fucking insane if you think we'll let you do that" Y/N told her, no hesitation in her voice.
Tara stood up. "Y/N/N is right. You always protect us, now it's time we protect you. We are a team, remember?".
"We are family" Y/N corrected, standing up and walking towards Sam.
"You can say it, Chad" Mindy said, standing up too.
Chad got into his feet and with a excited smile he said. "Let's go! Core five!".
"Core what?" asked Danny.
"It's an us think" Chad explained briefly.
"He's gonna keep coming after us" Sam warned them.
"Isn't there somewhere safe we can hold up in?" Ethan asked.
"He's just going to keep finding us" Tara told him, making him sigh. "We could use that, though”.
THE FINAL ACT WAS ABOUT TO BEGIN. The group planned on luring Ghostface into a secure location and trap him inside. The final reveal was getting close, and Y/N’s heart beat with excitement. She couldn’t wait to see the life draining from Tara’s eyes. And then, she would continue her life with the love of her life.
"Is this even a good plan?" Ethan asked, his hand gripping Y/N’s tightly, as they walked down the stairs to take the train.
"You don't have to come if you don't want to" Tara replied.
"So we just peel off so the killer takes us off one by one? No, thank you" the curly-haired boy said, making his girlfriend look at him with her eyebrows raised. "And I don't want to leave Y/N alone, of course".
The girl laughed. "You really don't have to come, you know? We are not going to blame you for not going".
Ethan sighed. "No. Like I said, I won’t leave you alone".
“Yeah, very romantic, lovebirds. Can you move now? We are going to miss the train” Mindy said annoyed from behind them.
They walked through the current of people, pushing and shoving to try to get into the train. Just as they were about to enter it, the doors closed right in front of their faces.
"The next one should be here any minute. We won't be that far behind" said Y/N to Ethan and Mindy.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go away" Mindy said to the boy.
"What do you mean?" the girl asked her confused.
"I don't trust your boyfriend".
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Mindy, not right now. Leave your stupid accusations aside, we need to stick together".
"Fine, you can stay with him. I'll wait a couple of feet away" she replied stubbornly.
"Mindy, come on" she said tiredly, but her friend didn't listen. She turned to face the tall boy. "Can I be the one who gets rid of her?".
Ethan tried not to laugh “I’m sorry but we have to take advantage of her stubbornness. Text Quinn, it’ll be less suspicious if you do it”.
“How disappointing” she scoffed, pulling her phone out.
hey quinn. we are about to take the train. we missed the first, so we are taking the next one.
mindy distanced herself from us cause she doesn’t trust your brother.
it’ll be a great opportunity to get rid of her
(i’m so jealous you get to do it btw).
quinn
roger that:)
aw i’m sorry, i promise i’ll be extra brutal for you :)
stop flirting with me!
quinn
no can do ;)
“Hey, what the fuck?” Ethan whispered, reading the conversation over her shoulder.
Y/N laughed “Don’t worry, pretty boy. My heart is only yours”.
“That’s right. You are mine” he said, gripping her hips.
“You are so hot when you get territorial” she said pressing a kiss on his jaw.
When they boarded the train, Mindy walked towards the end of the wagon, away from them but at a reasonable distance so she could keep an eye on Ethan.
“This is perfect” Y/N whispered, looking around. The train was crowded with people dressed as famous killers—Jason, Michael Myers, Ghostface, Pennywise.
"What’s your favorite scary movie, darling?” the boy joked. He was towering over her, and her back was pressed against a metal tube.
Y/N rolled her eyes "Shut up, idiot. I was never a fan of those types of movies”
“Maybe that could be one of our dates, watching scary movies”
“I’ll do anything as long as it’s with you” she smiled sweetly. He got closer to her, now they were chest against chest, and kissed her cheeks multiple times.
“Gross” said a familiar voice from next to them. Just after that, the light went out.
“That’s your cue, Quinnie” Y/N told her.
“Don’t call me that” she grumbled before starting to get closer and closer to Mindy.
On the next stop, when a big number of people stepped out of the train, the couple turned around to see Mindy sitting on the floor, hands pressed to her stomach and blood staining her shirt.
"No, fuck!" Y/N yelled faking concern as she ran towards her. She wanted to smile so badly at the sight of the girl in pain "You've got to be kidding me! I'm so sorry, Minds".
"Somebody help!" Ethan screamed, but no one moved one finger to do something. "Shit. We've got to get her out of here".
Y/N nodded. "Breath deep" she told her before pulling her to her feet. The girl let out a groan of pain as the couple lead her out of the train. "Thanks for nothing, assholes!".
"Somebody call 911!" Ethan yelled as they put the wounded girl on the floor of the station. "Are you okay?".
"Yeah, I'm so good" she said through her teeth.
"You're going to be okay" Ethan told her.
"Goddam it! I got it wrong again!" she cried. The paramedics arrived and started to check on the wounded girl.
"Is she going to be okay?" Y/N asked them.
"Yes, your friend will be fine, don't worry. We are going to give her painkillers, while we drive her to the hospital" they informed her.
“Minds, they need all the help they can get. I hate to leave you alone, but…” Y/N started.
Mindy nodded in understanding “You have to help them, it’s okay. Go”.
“If you need anything, call me okay?” Y/N told her.
“I’ll be fine, really. Just… be careful with him, okay? I know he’s your boyfriend and you like him, but never trust the love interest”.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be okay” she assured her before the paramedics took her away. “Heard that? I should be careful with you” she turned around with a smirk to face her boyfriend. “Are you gonna hurt me?”.
Ethan laughed “Depends, are you into those types of kink?”.
“You really should’ve taken that cold shower” Y/N said rolling her eyes, but smiling nonetheless. “Now, let’s go. It’s time for the big finale, baby!”.

He’s a work in progress still but I wanted to share the first pass of his completed look so badly X)
I’ve had Sir Meteor in progress since August 2023, if you want to see the progress it will be under the read more!
Sir Meteor’s story starts with my fist kirby OC I made, Terra Knight! I won’t talk about him too much except that I knew from early on he had a older brother. TK originally has a skull mask in his very early concepts, but then I learned Axe Knight existed, and they looked too similar. I shelved the concept for a while until I had more ideas.
In August 2023, I started to sketch out allosaurus skulls because I had wanted to revisit the concept and thought maybe I would redesign Terra Knight to have a dinosaur skull mask. It did not happen, but that planted the seed.
In November, I had been struck with inspiration and started doodling. The name is very important to the lore of my OCs and is very deliberate, so once I figured out the name for Sir Meteor, a lot of elements fell into place instantly!!
This is the first time I gave Meteor colors, and I also put him next to his siblings so they would look cohesive. Me mentioning how he doesn’t even have shoes yet is foreshadowing.
In the following day, I sketched him more to get a feeling for his design!!
The most notable thing about this is probably 1.) here I cemented the twin-tail cape because it looks like the tail of a comet and 2.) since it looked like a comet, I wanted the pauldron to include a star somehow
Also fun fact!!! The shape of his horns is directly inspired by Triceratops horns!!
Which led to the designing of his pauldrons later in November!
I ended up combining elements of the first and third design because together they would look like shooting stars!
This is also when I decided on giving him the four pointed star blushing! Around this time I posted a sketch of Meta Knight with star blushes and I wanted to include more fun blush shapes. Also the four pointed star is a subtle Galacta Knight reference! Sir Meteor is genuinely old, prehistoric even, and he comes from that time period, and I wanted the star shapes to reflect that
After this I was stuck. I was extremely stuck and could not figure out how to design his shoes. Since everything else was so themed, it had to mean the shoes had to match as well. I wanted to keep the prehistoric/star themes, going strong. I tried a few times to give him plain armor but it did not look correct at all!
I took a few months to think about it. Another important thing is that whatever shoe I drew had to look good and cohesive with AND without his skull mask. It was hard to balance but yesterday (21 February) I began to cook.
On the sketch page, you can see how the thought process evolved from the top of the page downwards. You can see the “haha drawing smiles with sharp teeth- oh wait a minute hold on” happen in real time.
On the page on the right, is when I finally designed his shoes!!! THE EVIL IS DEFEATED!!!!
This character is so heavily themed and I thought about it so much. So. Much. If anyone actually read this breakdown you deserve a gold star thank you for listening to my insane, several month long thought process. I’m so proud of him for a reason. Now I need to finalize the colors and stuff but for now enjoy!
EDIT: while making Meteor’s reference, i also went through a LOT of altered color pallets.

We made it, you guys! I'm wrapping up my blitz through all the Fourth World canon. I've already covered the comics of the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, and the 00s, so now let's get into everything post-Flashpoint!
Wonder Woman (2011): I'll be honest: this series is Not Valid, and Orion only shows up as a supporting character for about a dozen issues, so I just skimmed his appearances rather than actually reading the whole volume. Anyway this version of Orion slaps Diana's ass and hits on her relentlessly and isn't even from Apokolips. Highfather is emotionally abusive. No one else from the Fourth World even shows up. Throw it all directly in the trash.
Infinity Man and the Forever People (2014): Genuinely who was asking for a New 52 book about the Forever People (the most optimistic of Kirby's creations) written by Dan DiDio (a man on the record as saying he wanted "to take the smile out of comics")? Shockingly, it's not as bad as I was bracing myself for. I mean, the lore changes are baffling (Darkseid and Highfather are brothers! the Infinity Man is Highfather's conscience and that's why New 52 Highfather's such a dick all the time! Big Bear is from Apokolips and has a secret, angrier face because he's like a bonus Orion now!). And the art rotates through four or five different artists and all of the issues not drawn by Tom Grummett are hideous. But mostly it's just very boring and pointless? Let's all ignore it forever.
Green Lantern/New Gods (2014): Hey, do you remember when Green Lantern was one of DC's most successful franchises and they were publishing five simultaneous GL-related ongoings and they oversaturated the market so badly they could barely keep one GL book going until recently? I'm not saying shit like this is what killed the goose that laid the golden egg, but...I'm not not saying that either. (No seriously, I am genuinely fascinated by whatever the fuck DC did to the Lanterns in the 2000s and 2010s as, like, a publishing cautionary tale, but that's a story for another post.)
This was a three-month crossover across all five GL books - Green Lantern (Hal's book), Green Lantern Corps (John's book), Green Lantern: New Guardians (Kyle's book), Red Lanterns (Guy's book), and Sinestro - plus a New Gods one shot and a GL annual. That's 17 issues that are meant to be read in order to follow the story, and then you can optionally also read the tie-in issues of Infinity Man and the Forever People, which makes a whopping total of 20 issues dedicated to this storyline.
So what was the plot of this grand saga? Uh...Highfather tries to steal all the rings of every Corps like he's the fucking Trix Rabbit or something. The end.
Yeah, it's a mystery what killed the GL publishing juggernaut. 🙄
(Side note: this crossover adds a brand new Original Character Do Not Steal who is from Apokolips and was raised by Highfather and has a Secret Rage Face. After Infinity Man and the Forever People also gave Big Bear a Secret Rage Face. STOP STEALING ORION'S SHIT. You don't need extra bonus Orions, Regular Orion is right there!)
Bug! The Adventures of Forager (2017): This is a very charming, very strange series that isn't in continuity (it was part of the Young Animal imprint) and doesn't really forward the plot of the New Gods in any way, but it's funny and enjoyable. Basically, Forager wakes up after his death in Cosmic Odyssey (29 years prior, for those keeping track) and goes on a time- and reality-hopping adventure in which he interacts with various characters Kirby wrote and drew for DC over the years (although oddly, very few New Gods). It's the sort of series that rewards the long-time comic book reader, but I still enjoyed it even though I was very aware I was missing references. I wouldn't recommend it if you're brand new to comics, though.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps (2016): Orion's in a couple arcs of this run, and they're pretty fun. Orion's heart gets removed from his body and Kyle keeps him alive with a construct! Hal races Lightray! Orion helps the GLs fight a shit ton of Darkstars! There isn't much in the way of advancing New Gods Lore (TM) here, but this is a pretty good series in general. A fun time!
Mister Miracle (2017): Sigh.
You know, the frustrating thing about this series is that some aspects of it are really good. The art is superb. Some of the humor really lands. Funky Flashman as the Frees' nanny is an utter delight. (The bit where he retells the Galactus Trilogy as "Jake's story" is especially charming.) The subtler take on Granny and the way Scott is still wrestling with her abuse and his complicated feelings about her is heartbreaking. And the big twist, when Darkseid demands baby Jacob in exchange for peace, and Scott's agony over the decision, is utterly wrenching. It's such a good conflict to give Scott, to have him try to wrestle with the decision his own father made and what the right answer is. I even believe King read more than one issue of Mister Miracle (1971) to research this! I mean, he references the Lump. That's a pretty deep cut.
But it's all undercut by his decision to make Orion a villain. King's Orion isn't just brutal and wrongheaded, like some earlier writers have portrayed him - he's a vindictive sadist who craves power and enjoys humiliating someone who, in all previous canon, he eagerly embraced as a brother. He has elaborately cruel plans and enjoys making others know their place - Orion, who is historically as subtle and refined as a two-by-four to the head. He's out of character in basically every possible way.
But this isn't just me being like "How dare you get my blorbo wrong?!" (That's my reaction to King's depiction of Lightray as a simpering toady.) Making Orion a villain, as I have said many times at this point, betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the Fourth World's central concept, which is, like...not a hard concept to grok. The point of the baby swap isn't to see whether nature or nurture is stronger. It's that both babies grow up to be heroes. It's that good is stronger than evil. And if Orion isn't a hero, the whole thing falls apart. Instead, we get a bleak and fundamentally unbalanced take on the Fourth World that begins with a suicide attempt and ends with Scott resigning himself to a life from which he desperately wants to escape. And again, again, King's pessimism is mistaken for depth because someone else drew it real good.
Anyway I hate this comic, the end.
Justice League Odyssey (2018): The New Gods didn't really have a home base post-Flashpoint, which is why I'm covering so many books that aren't really New Gods books (Wonder Woman, the various GL books), because my crops are dying and I'm desperate for Orion to show up on his little scooter. Anyway this is actually first and foremost a Jessica Cruz book, which isn't really a complaint because I love her. Basically, Cyborg, Starfire, and Azrael (who is pretty OOC and also why is he here??? he doesn't know these people and he can't breathe in space?????) decide to go on an Illegal Space Adventure and Jessica tries to stop them and they all get swept up into an incredibly convoluted plan by Darkseid to turn everyone but Jessica into a NEW New God and take over the universe? Or maybe destroy it? UNCLEAR. Also the last time they all saw Darkseid he was a baby but now he's not anymore. How? UNCLEAR.
Darkseid kills Jessica but it doesn't take because she's the GOAT, but now he's taken control of Vic, Kori, and JPV, so Jessica has to team up with Orion, Blackfire, and Dex-Starr the Red Lantern cat to defeat Darkseid and rescue the others. Overall this book is so unrelentingly high stakes and cosmic that I kind of tuned out. After a while I just hit "we have to save the universe!!!" fatigue. But a huge part of the second half of the series is just Jessica yelling at Orion until he grumpily does what she tells him, and I truly could have read 40 more issues of that. I hope when it was all over he went and pouted at Lightray about how the Green Lantern was SO MEAN to him (he deserved it).
Verdict: Don't bother to read for New Gods continuity, do read if you love Jessica Cruz.
Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom (2021): This book reintroduces Shilo Norman to the post-Flashpoint universe as a celebrity superhero and escape artist who aggressively protects his secret identity, because his predecessor Thaddeus Brown, who is Black in this series (and presumably going forward), had a public identity and dealt with horrible racism from the public. But his mask is partially torn off when he's attacked by N'vir Free, the daughter of Scott and Barda Free - who Shilo has never heard of. While Shilo tries to figure out who the Frees are and why N'vir thinks he stole her father's legacy, he also discovers that Thaddeus was secretly his grandfather, and has to unpack all of his emotional hangups about his own identity and legacy.
This is a great book for the humans of Kirby's Mister Miracle and a terrible one for the New Gods. Scott and Barda are not only dead, but their memories have been erased from most people's minds. N'vir is an awful character with a stupid name, and also a fascist dictator, which is...a choice for Scott and Barda's kid. (I'm assuming all of this is either taking place in a different universe than the main DCU, or has been retconned away, because Barda is currently appearing in Birds of Prey and is perfectly fine. And perfectly perfect. Please read Birds of Prey.) Orion does show up for a bit and he's great here, but he doesn't remember Scott either, which hurt my heart.
But it's a great book for Shilo, who gets to be a complicated, endearing but flawed protagonist instead of a sidekick who tends to get forgotten for years at a time. I'm a bit torn on having him be related to Thaddeus, since I like the idea of Shilo becoming a hero on his own smarts and spunkiness rather than inheriting it, but it allows for some really beautiful themes about legacy and being proud of where you come from, so it suits the story really well. And Oberon is a delight the whole way through (as always). Overall a good book, but somewhat to the side of the overall New Gods saga.
THE END. We did it, you guys! Now DC please greenlight a new New Gods book, thank you.
(Actually it should be double length and reversible so when you hold it one way it's a New Gods book and when you flip it to the "back" cover it's a Mister Miracle book and the stories intertwine. Do you see the vision???)

Shattered Unity
[Fragment One: I] [Fragment One: II]
Synopsis: Jill Roberts had everything, a perfect house, with a perfect family and a perfect little sister, who she cared for far more than she realised.
Pairings: Jill Roberts x Sister! Reader
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: nothing so far :) some sibling fluff
34 Elm Street epitomized the pinnacle of luxury in Woodsboro, an affluent community coveted by all. The neighborhood itself exuded an aura of safety, lined with sycamores and white picket fences. In the middle of it all stood the Roberts household, bustling with the loud sounds of a typical Monday morning.
Jill rolled over in her plush bed, pulling her pillow over her ears to block out the loud noise of her alarm. Letting out a deep groan, her arms fumbled around until they found the snooze button. Her eyelids fluttered shut again, aiming to steal a few more precious moments of sleep until a sudden crash echoed from downstairs.
"Sweetheart!" Her mother's voice reverberated through the house. "Are you okay?"
Jill could hear her little sister mumbling something in response, probably attempting to make herself breakfast. She always had this habit of striving for independence. Jill stretched, her long black hair cascading as she released it from the loose bun of the night before. Running her fingers through the tangles, she slipped into a pair of jeans and rummaged through her wardrobe in search of a shirt. As Jill swung her door open, the sound of small feet scampering up the stairs reached her ears. It seemed her sister had an uncanny sixth sense for detecting when Jill was awake.
"Jill!" Her little form came barreling around the corner, running toward Jill's feet. Her face lit up when she saw her sister. "I made you pancakes," she announced proudly. Jill laughed and asked if that was what the crash was. The little one hid her face in Jill's shirt, her speech muffled by the fabric. "I might have dropped the pan." Jill ruffled her hair before manoeuvring around her to start going downstairs.
The kitchen bore the aftermath of a culinary hurricane—flour dusted every available surface, eggshells added a crunch underfoot, and a symphony of pots and bowls occupied the sink. Amidst this chaos sat a plate of hastily assembled pancakes, syrup awaiting its inevitable deployment. As Jill cautiously surveyed the scene, her foot met an unexpected puddle of milk, sending a shiver up her spine as the sock soaked up the liquid.
Suppressing a sigh, Jill turned her attention to her sister, ready to issue a gentle reprimand. However, before she could speak, (Y/n) beat her to it with a spirited declaration. "Don't worry, Jill! I'm cleaning it all up after I eat. I just wanted to make sure you had something to eat before Kirby picks you up." Her bright smile melted any lingering frustration, reminding Jill why (Y/n) was her undeniable soft spot.
"You're such a little troublemaker, (Y/n)," Jill joked, pulling off her damp sock. She walked to the kitchen table, grabbing a few pancakes to smother in syrup. (Y/n) climbed onto the stool beside her big sister, looking at her intently. "Speaking of Kirby, do you think I can say hi when she comes to pick you up? I want to show her the picture I drew of us three!" Jill looked over, shocked at her sister, talking with a mouthful of pancake. "You drew a picture of me?" (Y/n) corrected her, saying it was all three of them together, but Jill's mind was elsewhere. All (Y/n) ever drew was puppies and rainbows—childish things. Never had Jill seen her draw a person, never mind her.
Jill's fork hovered mid-air, laden with syrup-soaked pancake, as she stared at (Y/n) with wide eyes. The surprise etched across her face deepened, a mix of disbelief and genuine awe. For a moment, she was caught in the realization that her little sister had moved beyond the realm of fluffy animals and sunny scenes, venturing into something far more personal.
"You drew a picture of me?" Jill repeated, as if the words needed confirmation. The syrup dripped slowly back onto the plate, forgotten in her slackened grip. (Y/n)'s innocent nod was met with an almost incredulous smile from Jill, as if the simple act of portraying her in a drawing was a revelation.
"(Y/n), that's... incredible," Jill finally managed, her tone carrying a mix of surprise and warmth. The thought that her sister had chosen to illustrate her, amid all the subjects she could have picked, lingered in the air like a sweet revelation.
"I'll show it to you!" (Y/n)'s syrup-sticky hands seized Jill's, leading her in an eager ascent up the stairs, their footsteps an echo of shared laughter. The little haven at the top, (Y/n)'s room, painted in every shade of pink. It was a sanctuary of innocence, adorned with unicorns, magical creatures, and the captured moments of their life.
The walls told stories in crayon and glitter drawings, tales of a childhood untainted by the complexities of the world beyond. Pictures of Jill and (Y/n), frozen in time, grinned back at them. Jill couldn't help but notice the subtle nostalgia woven into the room, a familiar echo of her own youth. The glow-in-the-dark stars overhead seemed to promise dreams as pure and boundless as the universe itself.
Most of the toys strewn across the floor were remnants of Jill's childhood, a nostalgic scatter of innocence now usurped by time. Yet, what tugged at Jill's heartstrings most was the teddy bear lying on the bed, a mirror image of the one resting in her own room. (Y/n) never ventured anywhere without that bear. It was a shared relic, a testament to a bond forged in the simplicity of happier times.
As Jill sank into memories, the room became a vessel of echoes. Most vivid was the recollection of a day long past, a shopping trip with her father to find the perfect gift for baby (Y/n). The brown bear, soft and fluffy, had captured Jill's heart. She pleaded with her father to let her have one too. That day marked the last fragment of happiness she could recall with him.
A small shake brought Jill back to the present. She found herself gently pushed to sit on the edge of the bed. (Y/n) darted to the desk by the door, the chaotic rustle of pages scattering in her wake. Amidst the flurry, a small sound of excitement at her discovery. (Y/n) rushed back, concealing a page behind her back, anticipation dancing in her eyes.
Jill was presented with a page, a kaleidoscope of waxy stripes in every imaginable color. Amidst the vibrant chaos, three figures took center stage. Two of them stood at a similar height, towering protectively over a smaller figure nestled between them. A soft smile graced Jill's lips as she looked at her younger sister, who returned the gaze with anticipation sparkling in her eyes.
Gently, Jill pulled (Y/n) into her arms, the paper the only barrier between then. She whispered softly in her sister's ear, "Kirby's going to love this."
Kirby's car rushed into the driveway of the Roberts household, letting out a loud beep that echoed in the quiet neighborhood. As Jill stepped onto the front porch, the car's blaring music masked the sounds around them.
"Before you get in the car, you need to promise not to kill me!" Kirby shouted over the music, quickly turning it off as Jill approached.
"Why?" Jill asked, walking closer to the passenger door, while her sister eagerly ran toward the car. "What did you do?"
"Trevor called me last night," Kirby explained, and Jill's face twisted in disgust. "Why is he calling you?" She leaned down, poking her head through the car window, while (Y/n) stood on her tiptoes to get Kirby's attention.
"Because you won't take his calls, he knows I have you here and he wants to know," Kirby said. Jill opened the door with a roll of her eyes, and Kirby shifted her focus to (Y/n), greeting her with a warm, "Hi pumpkin!"
Ignoring Kirby's attempt to divert the conversation, Jill pressed, "Know what?" Kirby's eyes darted away from (Y/n), who stood eagerly waiting to share something. "How upset you are." She finished.
Olivia hopped into the backseat of the car, engaging Jill in conversation about Trevor. While they chatted, Kirby shifted her attention to the younger Roberts sister, who stood patiently at the door. With an exuberant greeting, she handed Kirby a piece of paper, saying, "I drew this for you!" Kirby smiled at the young girl, touched by the fact that her best friend's younger sister cared enough to create a drawing. "It’s me, you, and Jill," she explained, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm.
"It’s amazing, (Y/n)!" Kirby examined the drawing carefully before placing it on the dashboard. "When I get home from school, it’s going straight up on my refrigerator," she promised with a smile. (Y/n) beamed at this news. Kirby glanced at the time; if they didn’t leave now, they’d be late. “We have to go, pumpkin. Have a good day at school!” she called out as she watched (Y/n) run back into the house, waving back to the girls as she did and Jill shut the car door.
Olivia rolled her eyes from the back seat, letting out a scoff. She had something against Jill’s sister ever since she accidentally broke her cell two years ago. Olivia opened her mouth to state something when Jill quickly turned to face her, her stare cold and harsh, quickly shutting Olivia up. She huffed, “I wasn’t going to say anything about your sister!” Her arms raised in the air in defense.
Jill let a small smirk grace her lips; she could see Olivia was lying. “Really!” She turned back to the front, glancing at her through the rearview mirror. Jill wanted to see what kind of stupid story Olivia would attempt to create to dig herself out of the hole she made. “What was it you were going to say?”
Olivia stumbled over her words, desperately trying to come up with a story that would fit, but she couldn’t. “Fine!” She bowed her head in defeat. “But it’s not a crime to dislike your sister; she's just so...” She trailed off, seeing Jill's glare. “Clingy.”
The pulsating beat of a song jolted all three girls from their conversation. Jill's cellphone buzzed near her feet, prompting her to fish it out of her bag. As Olivia grumbled about the ringtone, Jill examined the caller ID.
"Why is Jenny Randall calling me?"
Both Kirby and Olivia shrugged, as Jenny wasn't someone they interacted with frequently.
"I don't know. I don't like Jenny Randall. She threw up on me at Tony Marshall's luau," Olivia interjected. Kirby rolled her eyes, and as Jill answered the phone, "That luau was freshman year!" Kirby turned to Olivia, who threw up her hands, “I didn't say my anger was rational!"
Both girls redirected their attention to Jill upon hearing her asking about the caller. Kirby returned her focus to the road, stealing glances at Jill's now irritated expression. "What does she want?" Jill ignored her friend's question, continuing to reprimand the mysterious caller. "Where’s Jenny?" Confusion deepened on the faces of Kirby and Olivia. Was Jenny Randall attempting to prank call Jill? Jill lowered the volume of the car's music. "Who is this?"
Kirby listened intently to the voice on the other end. It resonated deep and rough, like gravel on the highway. Certainly not Jenny Randall. Panic crept over Jill's face as she abruptly declared, “I’m hanging up.”
After a brief pause, Jill turned to her friends. "That was so weird. I just got a prank call from Jenny Randall." Olivia promptly interrupted with her own story, but Jill remained silent, appearing uninterested. "Jenny Randall is weird. Her and her little Marnie the Carny friend are freaks!" Glancing at Jill, who sat somewhat diminished in her seat and gazing out the window, Kirby sensed Jill might be anxious about her sister after such a peculiar call. Olivia continued to ramble on, it was very clearly not helping Jill. Kirby sighed before trying to reassure Jill.
"It's massacre week. People go looney, remember?"

Fours a Franchise
Part 11
wordcount: 7,657
You and Kirby stood off on the sidelines. You admitted it was one hell of a daze. Just no other thought in your head right now. There was no other way to put it…You were in shock. It felt like you were dissociating from reality for a little bit here and there. Just spacing out as if time itself stood still while everyone rushed around you.
A loud noise snapped you out of it. You faded back into reality as you saw Gale getting hauled into the back of an ambulance as the doors slammed shut. Blinking repeatedly as you saw Dewey a few feet away wiping his face and adjusting his hat while talking to Deputy Hicks.
He locked eyes with you and walked towards you and Kirby with a frown.
Silence stretched on as no one knew what to say right now. He glanced between you both. "...Can you um…Give us a minute, Kirby? You're free to go if you'd like…You want me to call a relative to pick you up?" He drew out with a somber tone.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah, sure." Kirby stood up fully. "No, it's fine. My parents are out of town…See you around YN." She awkwardly gave a tight lipped forced smile to you both before it quickly turned to a frown. "I'm sorry…For what happened. Mr. Meeks was…Randy Meeks was great." She offered her condolences before releasing a breath and leaving the awkward silence hanging in the air.
You swallowed but nodded to her with your head tilted back. You sat against the barn on a straw bale as Dewey glanced down at you. He opened his mouth to speak but relented. Thinking long and hard before telling you. "YN…What happened? How did…How did you two get seperated? How exactly did it happen?"
You frowned deeply, your voice croaking out tiredly. "...We just did."
You couldn't tell Dewey anything. It wouldn't help anyways…It's not like it wasn't possible that Billy and Stu did this to keep Randy from talking. In fact, you thought it was plausible. Kill Randy for talking, kill Gale because either she saw something or recorded them…But the webcam? Again, not impossible. You hadn't seen the two murderers in a decade. Billy could be selling snuff films for cash or Stu was trying to be famous again now that acting wasn't working for all you know. However, it didn't fit. It didn't feel whole and it didn't feel right. It felt like an easy 'who done it?'. This was a franchise. It didn't matter what those teens said, if Randy said it was a franchise then by God, it's a franchise. And franchises aren't that cut and dry.
No…Whoever did this has a social media presence, a camera, an audience and knew this barn. And you knew the two fuckfaces that fit the bill. You glared at nothing in particular as your mind raced.
Dewey sighed heavily and took off his hat for a moment. "YN…Are you sure there wasn't something? A disagreement or argument-"
You looked up and interrupted Dewey. " Kirby told you. We got separated when I went to look for Gale and Randy tried looking for his phone in the main barn. The 'why' doesn't matter as much as the 'who' does... Charlie Walker and Robbie Mercer. That's who did this." You hissed out their names through your teeth.
Dewey tilted his head. "...Why them?"
"Isn't it obvious? They hosted the party during a murder spree and they have an audience online." You grumbled. Shorter with Dewey than usual…Then, sighing deeply and letting your shoulders sag as the situation was feeling less like a nightmare and more a reality. "They killed Randy, Dewey…I know they did." You whispered as tears filled your eyes once more whether you wanted them to or not.
Dewey rolled his lip before throwing his hat with a tiny outburst of hopeless anger. It wasn't like him but then again you both had someone very important to you both killed and saw his corpse in a horrible way that you knew was gonna provide nightmares for years to come for the both of you…Your group of 4 had been safe with a few close calls for 15 years but it looks like your luck has finally running out.
You watched as he picked his hat back up and held it again, leaning his forearm on the barn and looking away from you deep in thought.
"...You're not staying here." He suddenly blurted out. You blinked at him as he turned to you with a determined look. "YN, I'm bending the rules and escorting you to a safe house somewhere. Even if I have to drive you there myself. You are not staying in Woodsboro one more night."
The tears in your eyes spilled. "It's about fucking time! If you would have…" You cut yourself off. Putting a hand over your mouth gently to halt that sentence as you hang your head. "Sorry."
Was it true? Yeah, it was. That if Dewey would've done this for you and Randy from the get go; Randy would still be alive. But you knew blaming each other wasn't going to accomplish anything right now.
Dewey stared at you before putting his hat back on and helping you up. "Come on. I failed you guys once, I'm not doing it again. You're going to be safe tonight, YN. I promise."
He took you to a police car with Judy Hicks in the driver's seat.
You hesitated getting in and gave him a confused look. "Wait, we're not taking your car?"
"YN, I gotta go to the hospital. Gale…She needs me. I'm having my Deputies collect as much evidence as they can here and at the Hospital I'm…I gotta see my wife." He opened the back door for you as you got inside.
"But…Someone's…Someone has to call his wife and family…Someone…" Your voice cracked before trailing off to a whisper as you sat in the backseat.
Dewey gave you a remorseful look but leaned in the backseat to whisper to you. "I will do that at the Hospital or on my way…I promise. Deputy Hicks is taking you to Randy's house to collect your things and then I'll keep you by my side all night till I can get you to a safe house later. You'll be safe with Hicks, she's a good Deputy and I'll be in contact with her the entire time."
You frowned but nodded before it tumbled out of you with a crack to your voice. Repeating it because it felt so…Urgent. "Dewey, but Karla and Martha and-"
He shhed you softly. "...I know…I'll make that call when I get to the Hospital, YN. I will."
He reached over the seat and hugged you and you eagerly hugged him back…Deja vu of when you were leaving Woodsboro flooded your mind 15 years prior or in the hospital together crying over Tatum. Despite your resentment over how he handled this case; you both needed this hug. You both needed some fucking comfort in this sick, sad situation.
He let you go, tears in his eyes as he offered you a smile. He sniffed while shutting your car door for you before pinching his nose and clearing his throat. Walking to Judy's driver window and telling her in a commanding voice. "Deputy Hicks, I want you to watch YN while I take care of things at the Hospital. You both stay at the Meeks Residence until either I call you or I get there. That's an order, Deputy."
Judy nodded firmly. "Understood, Sheriff Riley. Sir. She's in good hands."
Dewey looked back at you in the back of the squad car with a sad smile. "I'll see you soon, YN. I'll protect you, everyone on the force will." He patted the car a few times and walked away. You saw him hang his head, shoulders squared, trying so hard to be a good leader and keep it together.
Your eyes caught sight of them lowering Randy's body from the barn in the rearview mirror and you covered your mouth and looked away. That sick feeling in your stomach never leaves.
Judy gave you a sympathetic look as she drove. "Miss YN, I'm really sorry about your loss. He was one of the good guys."
You forced a sad frown and nodded. "Yeah…Yeah, he was."
Judy spoke up again after a few moments of awkward silence driving down the dark isolated road. "You know, it's not much but when my Grandma died I was devastated. I didn't eat or drink for days and just stayed in my room crying but then I went to some meetings at a church and they helped. Hearing other people's grief and seeing so much hope and faith really helped."
You weren't hardly listening to her but nodded. She just drove and drove, making small talk as you stayed relatively silent. Everything is going through your head. What if you wouldn't have followed Billy and just forced him to call you about it later? What if you would've stopped talking to them 2 minutes earlier than what you did? What if you would have openly just told Randy that 'Yes, you were seeing someone' just so he would leave the barn and you both would have argued about it in the car? What if he just kept driving like you surmised he did and never came back for you? His car was parked like it was in a hurry. Like he was gonna leave but came back…Why? Why couldn't he just leave? Thousands of questions with no answer just ran through your tired mind. You were so spaced out you could've been broadsided by a semi right now and not known it.
Eventually you caught yourself getting spacey and shook your head trying to clear your thoughts. Wiping at your teary eyes as you reminded yourself; 'you need to be aware right now'.
Eventually, you entered the small inner town limits of Woodsboro…You guys passed a streetlight as you got into town. The lights illuminated the inside of the car every time you passed one…And something eventually caught your eye. You saw on Judy's uniform, right on the pant leg, was a few dark marks.
Your eyes hyper focused on it, scrunching your brows before you saw it again under another light near a stop sign…Blood. Dark red blood drops.
You stared, eyes darting between the marks and her face you saw in the mirror before you finally asked her. "Is that blood?"
She looked taken aback at first. Looking at you in the mirror as your eyes locked before looking down at her pants with a smirk. "Oh, yeah. Paper cut down at the office while filing reports." She showed a supposed cut on her finger you couldn't see in the dark as the car moved away from the street light again.
You stared at the back of her head.
That suspicious sinking feeling creeping in you. You were trapped in this police car. It was Detective Richard's and Andrew's attack from Mickey all over again…Your hand slowly and subtly 'adjusted' your pant leg where your gun was hidden…After all, they didn't frisk you for weapons because you weren't arrested. This was the equivalent of a friend of a friend giving you a ride; it just so happened to be a cop.
You put your hand back in your lap when she asked you. "So, do you like all those scary movies YN?"
"...What?"
"Just, spooky season is around the corner and that Stab party…So, do you like them?"
You stared. "...Yes."
She smiled. "Really? What's your favorite?"
You bit your inner cheek as a chill ran down your spine. "Um…I don't know."
She paused before smiling sheepishly as she continued. "Oh sorry, not the time. I just know Mr. Meeks seemed to enjoy them and I was trying to make small talk. I visited his movie store a few times. I personally prefer musicals myself. I hate seeing bad stuff happen to people." She sighed. "Forget I said anything. Dumb conversation starter."
You just stared a moment longer before looking out the window. Not feeling safe or comfortable with anyone after what happened tonight.
When you saw Randy's house come into view, it felt like a God send to get out of the car but also sad and depressing.
The one cops squad car was across the street down the block at Jill's as Judy helped open your door. She scoffed and shook her head. "Look at them sleeping on the job." She tsked before turning to you. "Okay, let me go in the house first and then once it's clear you can get your things and I can go over there and reprimand those two."
You forced a smile, happy to be out of the confines of a cop car that you couldn't open from the inside as you stood on the sidewalk. "Don't worry about it. I can protect myself. "
"Do you have a weapon? A gun more specifically?"
You hesitated but realized she probably heard it or saw a report or something with you shooting at Ghostface in the barn.
"Yes. I have a license."
She gave you a cringing look. "About that, YN…I'm gonna have to confiscate that weapon for your own safety."
….
You stared at her and cracked a disbelieving smirk followed by a nervous chuckling. "What? What do you mean?" You swore you didn't hear her correctly.
"I can't let you have a weapon in your current state of mind. Sheriff Riley's orders."
You felt your smirk drop into a stern glare. "...Then I want to hear it from Sheriff Riley's mouth."
She rested her hands on her hips near her belt. "YN, please. You saw something very awful that has you on suicide watch especially with your past…In and out of therapy, the PTSD you suffer. We're just looking out for you…And…Homicide watch right now after how you reacted at the crime scene. You're a danger to yourself and others."
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" You felt your blood run hot. "Like hell I'm giving you my weapon at a time like this!"
"You had an outburst and tried to swing on a minor earlier-"
You interrupted her. "And he fucking deserved it too!" You yelled, voice rising at how panicked and furious you were. "If I wanted to kill him, I would've got my gun out and started blasting bullets, Judy."
She gave you a frustrated look, releasing a sigh. "YN, I'm just following orders."
"Are you?" It came out without even thinking.
"What do you mean by that, Miss YN?"
You glared at her. The blood on her pants, her showing up randomly every time something happens, now this. You didn't answer her.
Judy raised a brow. "...YN, either you give it to me or I take it by force as an officer of the law. You are not in the right state of mind to own a deadly weapon at this time. Even if I'm there; you could harm me and then yourself before I can apprehend it."
"Yeah, the cops are the only ones allowed to defend themselves, right? It's every horror movie it seems…" I grumbled under your breath with a disbelieving wry little smirk all before growing serious again and looking at her. "Deputy…You would actually take my only form of defense away when there's a murderer after us?"
She reasoned. "You are protected, YN! You have an officer with you at all times to handle a situation like that. I'm here, aren't I?"
Your mouth twisted as your tongue pushed against your cheek. You anxiously tapped your foot against the pavement as you finally wanted to call her bluff. "Call Dewey. I am NOT giving my gun up with a murderer on the loose until you do." You got out your phone. "Or better yet, I'll call him."
You could tell she was annoyed at you 'questioning her authority' and you truly didn't give a shit right now.
It rang and rang before going to voice-mail. You hit re-dial and it did it again.
"Something is wrong. Okay, I'm not giving you the gun until I hear it from Dewey! I'm not!" You spat out.
Judy huffed…But used her walky on her shoulder and spoke into it.
You waited and heard Dewey's voice reply back in police codes.
"10-97. Permission to confiscate YN's weapon in the case of 10-56A?"
You waited, a pause on the line before Dewey voiced back on the walky. "...Yes, if she's a danger then proceed."
"10-4, Sir."
You may not know the police code but you knew what that meant. You instantly yelled while he was talking. "DEWEY! CALL ME! HEY-
Judy shut it off. "YN, he's visiting his wife in the hospital. Now, there's no issue with me confiscating your weapon until further notice!"
Judy demanded and gave you a mild glare.
"...No. He said IF she's a danger I'm guessing to you or herself. I'm not." You firmly said. "You can't fucking do this! If I'm in your line of vision then what the fuck does it matter-"
"It does matter because you can also be a danger to me. Now, I'm asking you one more time as an authority to hand over your weapon or I'll confiscate it."
Oh was it ever on the tip of your tongue to tell her off and let her know you knew EXACTLY why Gale didn't like her. Why? Well right now because she was an overstepping ass kisser to Dewey but you relented as she came forward.
"If you resist we can easily have you detained at the jail till Sheriff Riley calls to transport you to a Safehouse."
You glared at her. Debating but…What choice did you have? It wasn't like you were gonna kill her or be able to run. But you still faltered. She gave you a look before forcing you to face the car as you protested before she frisked you.
"Hey!" You yelled, jerking out of instinct before she forced you to spread your feet apart and your hands on the vehicle.
She said nothing as she frisked you…And found the revolver Dewey gave you that you had hidden on your leg.
Judy tsked. "YN…Why are you acting like a common criminal by resisting? With your status too…You should have more faith in Sheriff Riley."
You jerked away from her with a sneer. "Well excuse me, Deputy…But when you've dealt with what I've dealt with and had every cop except a handful make the situation 10 times worse and put your life in danger over their ego; you'd be thinking like a criminal too. Especially to survive…And my relationship and 'faith' in a guy I've known since I was 17, is my goddamn business."
You were so scared you were angry. Angry at Dewey and how 'lawful' he had become, angry at Judy for thinking that badge made her Dewey's special little helper, angry at the fact you had to go home alone without your best friend, angry at Billy and Stu for half ass getting you in this situation by not listening when you told them not to come to the barn even if you were guilty of it too, angry at yourself for getting caught by Randy…But most of all; you were angry at Ghostface.
You watched helplessly as Judy confiscated your weapon and put it in the locked police car. You glared and felt like crying. This felt like a death sentence facing off Ghostface tonight with no weapon. You didn't even have mace! You gave that to Randy and now it was probably in some baggy as evidence…All you had was a thin concealed knife in the inside lining of your boot you specifically made for this type of situation. You could never be too careful with the life you were forced to live and you were definitely not telling Judy. If she didn't check it; it was your secret. You wished you had two guns with you…You would've gave the second to Randy and he'd probably still be here.
You stood on the porch as you both made your way to the house. Letting her draw out her gun and go through the house before she gave you the okay to go inside.
You walked in with your whole body tense. You felt your brows furrowed and your jaw tight as you took everything in…A burn in your throat as you saw the blanket Randy used on the chair he sat in a few hours prior to all this with the same show you all watched replaying itself.
Judy saw your expression and nodded. "I'll…I'll check the perimeter outside. Stay here."
You barely heard her as she left. Your eyes burned a bit and that deep heartache pained your chest…What if you and him would've stayed? Gave him your mace and a knife and just faced off any killer that may try to enter? But Randy was so damn persistent on saving Kirby…You swore, if Kirby was the killer; you'd be devastated if Randy died saving the one that killed him.
You shut your eyes, swallowing hard at the image of his body hanging from the barn. His blue eyes were usually full of mirth, completely dead and unfocused as his body turned ever so slowly with the rope around his neck. That image would haunt you just like Mark's or Andrew and Richard's or Derek or Tatum and Sidney…As horrifying as Tatum's was? Randy felt ten times worse.
You moved through the house, debating if you should be the one to call Karla despite what Dewey said but you just couldn't. You couldn't even say his name right now without your voice cracking…Just…The idea a few hours prior you were both talking and joking and now he's gone forever.
You ventured through the hall and you just naturally went to his kids room…All the twins' stuff decorating the walls or scattered on the floor. The unwanted thought of their reaction to their Dad's death did it for you.
You sat on the edge of Chad's bed with your face in your hands. Releasing a shaky breath as you silently cried…You wanted to wail but it was like you couldn't. Like you were still in so much shock over what happened it wasn't fully hitting you yet but just the idea of the twins growing up without him made you sick. Knowing your last conversation with him was him feeling so betrayed he didn't want you as their Godmother anymore made it worse.
In a moment of frustration you grabbed a nearby stuffed animal and threw it. "Damn it! Fucking arguments!...Just like at Windsor. I should've known. I should've followed him whether he liked it or not." You mumbled to yourself before feeling guilt well up at throwing a stuffed animal that was something of Mindy or Chad's. You got up and picked it up…Looking down at its happy face as your lip wobbled and tears welled up in your eyes. You hugged it close to your chest. "...I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." You were apologizing to Randy, to Mindy and Chad, to Karla…To Mark, to Derek, to Tatum, to Sidney, to your family…To yourself…
You stood there a moment holding the stuffed animal close..Life had been shit since you were 18. You'd give anything to be 17 again, fresh in Woodsboro and blissfully ignorant of any ill intent on Billy and Stu's part…Maybe even your life before even moving to Woodsboro…
And one of the only good things to come from all this was gone and he was never coming back.
You cried more, holding it close before jerking up to hear Judy enter the room. Gun drawn.
You froze a moment before she gestured to you. "Somethings wrong. I need to go across the street and for you to stay right here, understand?"
"What? What's wrong?" You quickly wiped your eyes and tossed the stuffed animal back on the bed.
Judy didn't answer, just rushing out the hall as you followed. "Stay here!"
You huffed in some annoyance at a cop that at worse probably dealt with a drugged out theif or domestic dispute telling you, the survivor of 3 homicides, what to do in this situation.
You watched her rush out the front door and saw Dewey's keys to the jeep he let you borrow lying on the countertop.
You grabbed them and then grabbed a kitchen knife for self defense. You peered through the window before stepping out cautiously on the porch…Where you saw Judy calling for backup and the two officers you thought were sleeping in the car or out back patrolling; dead in the street. The kill happened most likely while you and Judy were in Randy's house. Both of them are under bloody pools on the pavement.
Kate Roberts opened her front door yelling out. "Jill's gone!"
You stayed on the porch a moment before your eyes darted to the Jeep in the driveway.
Judy told her. "Stay there, Ma'am! Your daughter?"
She nodded furiously in a panic. "Yes! I told her she couldn't go out tonight and now she's not in her room!"
Judy started walking towards the house saying. "Is she on the property?"
"No!" Kate seemed frustrated with her. "Damn it, my daughter is gone and-...Oh God…Oh my God are they dead?" She asked about the cops clutching her mouth.
Judy looked over for a second and the moment her eyes weren't on Kate a Ghostface mask and cloak appeared behind her in the doorway of her home.
You yelled from across the street. "BEHIND YOU!!"
But…It was too late. You saw Kate's face contort in shock and pain before the killer ripped the knife out the back of her cranium and Maureen Roberts' sister slumped to the ground.
Judy shot at them but they ran deeper into the house. You saw Judy nervously call for backup as she went in.
You normally would join…Normally, you'd help. But you knew Judy wouldn't find the killer and you were a sitting defenseless duck here and Jill was dead or actually left. And most likely, the killer was luring Judy in to kill her…Or somehow make a distraction so you were unprotected and a second one could jump out and kill you.
You made your choice, running to the jeep and getting in it. Checking the backseat for a killer before starting it and backing up. Judy ran out of the house yelling at you…You were out of here. Randy was DEAD. Okay, he was dead. His kids and wife aren't here. You weren't THAT close to Jill or Kirby to force yourself to stay for them when they might be dead already. Gale was in the hospital and Dewey was in his own world right now…Like Hell you were staying in this town! You weren't waiting for Dewey hours from now to get you to a safe location. You couldn't hold out. Not when the killer was making their move NOW.
You sped down the roads and took the major highway to get out, eager to get out of this town before Judy got in her car after you or another officer intercepted.
Your phone rang and you saw it was Dewey. You picked up, using one hand on the wheel to talk to him. "What?"
"YN, what are you doing?!" Dewey frantically told you. "I'm sorry I missed your call. My phone was dead and I was charging it in my car and I'm sorry for Deputy Hicks taking your gun but this isn't the answer!"
"Then what is Dewey?! I can't stay in this town one more minute."
"YN, I told you a safe house-"
"Yeah? Well I don't think that can wait when two police officers are dead and the neighbor is too!"
He sighed heavily already getting the info from Judy you were sure of. However, he groaned a bit and then blurted out to you. "YN, please just stop for a second. You need to stay put!…Randy called me before he died."
Your eyes widened as you got out of the town and near the outskirts.
"He…Look, YN. I know, okay! I know you've been hiding two men for longer than just your visit here. And I know who they are. Randy saw them and told me but he cut himself off…YN, it's time to be honest. If they really-"
You instantly hung up. Fingers gripping the wheel tightly. It felt hard to breathe, your chest hurting, every muscle tense. You saw the 'Leaving Woodsboro' sign and pulled to the shoulder of the desolate road a second. And just…Screamed. You screamed to the top of your lungs ready for an overdue meltdown at this point.
Everything was fucked! Was Dewey gonna say lovers? Tim and James?...Billy and Stu? You couldn't risk it. It felt like the world was ending.
He called you again and you muted your phone. Then you saw a text from Kirby you didn't see earlier.
' I'm not good with this sort of stuff but if you need to talk I'm here. I'm just gonna be at my house all night anyways…Here's my address.' Then with a broken heart emoji at the end.
You needed to leave. Go wherever. You weren't even sure if you could fully trust Billy and Stu this round because what if this was them? Kill the Robert's/Prescott's, kill Randy for seeing them, try to kill Gale and you…
You smacked the steering wheel with a frustrated low growling yell from your throat.
Then…You remembered. Kirby and Jill and everyone were going to Kirby's house after all of this. For all you knew, Kirby could be the killer. Maybe her afterparty was the actual final act party? No one could be trusted right now. Randy said it best.
But then the image of Randy filtered through your mind. Permanently cemented into your brain and fueled you. You gripped the steering wheel tighter knowing no one but you could truly kill the killers that were so clearly after you…They fucking killed Randy, displayed his body like a goddamn puppet on a string. Taunting you…They had to go. This killer wasn't going to prison for taking away your best friend, two 6 year olds Dad, a woman's husband she adored, a great guy…They were fucking dying before lawful Judy or Dewey could haul them off to jail; didn't matter who the killer was. You said this was ending tonight and you meant it.
You took a deep breath but put the car in drive and made a U turn in the road. You were going to Kirby's where you knew the killer would strike next and if you died? You were taking them with you. What else did you have in life at this point? You were going to make sure to end this before your family back home or Dewey got hurt as well because other than your dog Cherri that was all you had left now.
You were ending this shit tonight.
—-----
Kirby made herself a drink from her parents liquor cabinet. Talking to Jill as she sat on the couch. "It was…Chaos. You missed utter chaos just…" She sat and couldn't even finish it. She was just talking to Randy Meeks and then he was dead.
Jill looked surprised while eating popcorn. "I can't believe that."
Robbie ranted while holding a drink. "Randy Meeks… Randy Meeks gutted, slashed, hung out to dry like a dead fish!" Robbie continued, seeming to be in his own hell as he raised his arms while talking. "And the Sheriff's wife, man. She told us to cancel it and now this? What are we supposed to do?"
"Robbie, Calm down. It makes sense." Charlie walked in front of the couch Jill and Kirby sat at. Thinking aloud and pacing. "This is what the reboots do t-they one up the original ending."
Kirby thought a moment before gesturing with her drink. "In The Woodsboro Murders it ended at a party. So in the remake-"
Charlie finished for her, eyes lighting up. "The party has a false ending. New Rules."
Kirby gave him a look while sipping her drink. "Exactly."
Robbie ran a hand through his hair. "W-What if it's not a remake? What if Randy was right and it's a franchise?"
"Different plot but same idea. Franchise, remakes, trilogies. They all have to one up the original to keep it going." Charlie sighed. "Besides…No disrespect to Randy, may he uh…May he rest in peace."
Robbie held up his drink. "Pouring one out to you, Randy." He gave with a frown and poured some of his drink out.
Kirby gave him the most deadpan expression and drew out. "...Really? On my fucking floor?"
"It was for Randy!" Robbie sheepishly exclaimed.
Charlie continued. "Anyways…This…Is a remake. Randy was just too old school going by outdated rules. Trust me. This is a remake."
"Can we stop?" Jill interrupted all of them. She rubbed her arm while sitting her popcorn down. "A man died."
Charlie nodded. "Yeah…Hunting arrow through the-" He gestured near his shoulder neck area. "And stabbed a bunch of times and gutted…Poor bastard."
Robbie shook his head. "Jesus Christ. So the killer is going Deer Hunter on us now?"
"I mean, it's Woodsboro California. Who hunts?" Charlie added.
Kirby looked… Interested. Her mouth twitched a bit as a thought came to mind. "Huh."
Jill looked at her. "What?"
"Just thinking. Ya know who has a crossbow hanging up in their garage?"
Kirby glanced at Robbie who paled, looking back at everyone looking at him. "W-Woah, hey! My Dad goes up North to hunt. That's not enough to be a suspect here!...Besides, Trevor is the one that goes hunting with his oldman every Fall! I won't even hunt squirrels with my Dad."
Kirby nodded, some secret list in her head. "Okay, fair enough."
Charlie pointed at them all. "Okay, no offense guys but I'm gonna put in Stab 7. No one cancels my film festival."
"Woah, woah, woah." Jill looked disdainfully. "I don't want to watch that after what happened to Olivia. Or my neighbor."
Kirby drew out. "Coomme oonnn, it was her favorite. And Randy wouldn't have it any other way'... It's honoring them in a way."
Robbie looked at her. "Damn Kirby…You don't seem too upset considering you had like a massive crush on the guy."
Charlie rolled his lips while hearing that. Kirby gave Robbie a dirty look.
Using her fingers to count off, she retorted. "Okay for 1; I did not have a massive crush, douchenozzle. I just respected his film knowledge…2; yeah I'm upset over Randy but this IS a Stab reenactment in real time playing out here. People are gonna die. And they're gonna die brutally. It sucks that it was him this time but I'm not gonna sob over him so the killer can get an easy opening. If anything, at least he went out as a memorable kill…3…You pointing the finger at me does not make you less suspicious." She whispered the last part mockingly. Drinking her drink, getting a bit tipsy and her attitude towards this situation numbing a bit.
Robbie scoffed and shook his head.
Charlie went to put in the movie but stood up fully to look at Kirby's movie collection. "Oh wow, Kirby. You got some Classics here."
"Yep." She replied.
Charlie smirked slightly as he read them off. "Suspiria. Don't look Now."
"You know it." She smirked back. "I could trivia your ass under the table, Cinema boy."
Charlie blinked while looking at her. "Oh yeah? Who played Leatherface first?"
"Gunner Hansen."
Charlie walked closer with his eyes on her. "Wow. Did you feel that?" He sat down and looked at her. "That charge that moved between us just now?"
Kirby smirked wryly and remarked sarcastically. "Oh yeah, that was me. I have powers."
Charlie shook his head, eyes trained on her in a husky whisper. "So fucking sexy."
Jill raised her brows and blinked while Robbie looked between the two in disgust. "Are you two fucking serious? You're playing fucking trivia games?"
Charlie nodded solemnly. "Robbie's right. Not the time I guess."
Jill added. "Our friend's dead, my neighbor too, the Sheriff's wife stabbed."
Robbie scoffed gesturing with his hands wildly. "The cops are gonna come. They're gonna shut down my website! We're so dead!"
"Yeah. You are. I agree."
Everyone jumped as Trevor said that. Just waltzing into the living room and leaning over a chair.
"Jesus Christ, where'd you come from?" Robbie huffed.
Trevor sighed. "Uh, the front door." Before he gave Kirby a taunting nice voice. "By the way, Kirby. With everything that's going on right now. Probably shouldn't leave that unlocked."
Kirby's face scrunched before giving a light scolding look to Charlie who sheepishly apologized while looking down at his shoes. Kirby drew her attention back to Trevor. "And uh, may I ask what the hell you're doing here?"
Trevor sat behind Charlie on the back of an armchair. "What?" All before roughly squeezing Charlie's shoulders mockingly. "Didn't I find the after party?" Charlie got up with an annoyed huff.
Kirby returned Trevor's mocking with her own comical taunting look and high pitched super faux pleasant voice. "No, you found the anti-party! And it's an invitation only!"
Trevor raised a brow. "Uh yeah well I got an invitation…From Jill."
Jill's face scrunched in confusion as Kirby darted her gaze to her best friend. Charlie and Robbie looked between each other. All while Trevor just sighed blissfully unaware. "Ahh, so. What's the story?" As he plopped down on the seat.
Jill finally spoke up in outrage. "I'm sorry, WHAT?"
Trevor shrugged. "You sent me a text message."
Jill laughed wryly while looking up a moment.
Trevor continued. "After party at Kirby's house. It was from your phone."
Jill sat up with furrowed brows. "What do you mean from my phone? I-" She looked around. "Where is my phone?" She looked at Kirby. "I think I left it in your car. I didn't text him!"
Trevor gave her a confused look.
Jill got up, glaring at him. "I didn't text you!" All before stalking out of the room to Kirby's car outside. "And I'll prove it."
Trevor sighed and crossed his leg over the other. "So!...Charlie. Robbie. How does it feel to be accessories to a crime, huh? I mean…Really? Dewey's wife? Not to mention, the Meeks guy?"
Robbie blurted out in dread. "My life is over."
Trevor sighed not too phased and asked them both. "So. Which one of you guys sent me a text message from Jill's phone, huh?"
Kirby scoffed with a disbelieving chuckle as she sipped her drink while Charlie and Robbie looked at each other.
"A-And we're just supposed to believe you're telling the truth?" Charlie asked.
Trevor leaned forward, glaring at Charlie before Kirby stated the obvious. "Isn't your phone missing?"
Trevor looked over at her a moment before giving her a wry smile. "Got a new one."
"Really?" Kirby was unphased, raising a brow as Trevor got up to storm off. Probably to find Jill. "Wow, that's incredibly convenient."
The room was left with Kirby and Charlie watching Stab 7 and Robbie downing shots at the counter of Kirby's kitchen. He groaned before taking the bottle and just going outside.
Kirby raised a brow in a catty way and glanced at Charlie. He looked at her with a raise of his own brows. "What?" He asked her.
Kirby smirked. "Nothing, just thinking we're all alone now. Act 3. Everyone is splitting up. Could be our last night alive…" She leaned forward with that coy look on her face. "I know you're into your movie and all but right now would be a really good time to make a move."
Charlie adjusted himself in his seat. "For…Me to make a move?"
She grinned at him. "Uh huh."
"Uh, c-couldn't you make a move?"
"I just did." Her voice husky as she put her hand gently on his arm, leaning forward in her seat. "Because you're actually kind of cute…When I'm scared and lonely…And maybe a little drunk." She leaned forward to kiss him. Charlie looked taken aback but leaned forward as well. The moment he had been waiting for for entirely too long.
The second their lips touched Trevor barged in breathlessly. "Hey, did you guys see Jill? I didn't see her outside."
Charlie sat there with tense shoulders and Kirby just stared at Trevor with annoyance before a wry smirk appeared. "Yes, Trevor. She is upstairs." Trevor went to walk away to go see her when Kirby added on. "Thank god you were here to protect her when you can't even find her."
Trevor saw they both were watching the opening kill montage to Stab 7 and a huge grin appeared on his face. "Ohoho dude, I love this part of the movie." He sat next to Kirby who gave him an annoyed look as he drew out. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just when you think they're all safe and comfortable in their own house…" He jerks back yelling. "Ghostface comes in and BANG!"
Charlie jolted up from his seat, shoulders squared as he stalked out of the room.
Kirby gave Trevor a side eye as Trevor looked dumbfounded for a minute. "Did I just interrupt something right here?" Kirby didn't say anything and a shit eating grin took over Trevor's face. "Shut the fuck up…" All before chuckling to himself.
"Who invited you, Trevor?!"
He got up laughing. "Alright, clearly not you…Imma be upstairs cause that's just…Wooh, you two that's-" He shook his head walking away.
Kirby yelled after him with her hands up. "Get out of my house!"
Kirby groaned in irritation and plopped back on her couch watching Stab 7 by herself. Miffed Trevor just had to come in and ruin the moment. Her mind thought of her and Charlie, Randy, what happened to Gale. You. She picked up her cellphone and…Saw a text telling you to come over. She sat up a bit. "What?" She looked at her phone and shook her head. Maybe she was more drunk than she thought? Because she didn't remember inviting a 33 year old woman to hang out with a bunch of teens after…What happened at the barn. She sighed, she wasn't going to text you back and tell you no but it seemed all of tonight was a fucking bust and a bit of nightmare fuel all rolled up in one.
She sat her phone on the table when she swore she heard something. Something that sounded like a door handle rattling. Like someone was trying to sneak in but couldn't. She got up and slowly made her way to the front door. Not hearing it anymore but also wanting to see if she could see someone. She got to the door and slowly went to look.
"Oh Kirby!"
She jumped, turning to hear Jill's heels clacking on the stairs as she descended. "Found my phone, it was up in your room." Jill sighed out. She shook her head as she met Kirby at the bottom of the stairs. "There was no text message sent to Trevor, he is such a liar!" She rolled her eyes and shrugged. "...So where is he?"
"Whaddya mean where is he? He just went upstairs looking for you."
Jill scrunched her brows. "He's not upstairs."
Kirby huffed and yelled for his name. No answer. She called for Charlie and Robbie…No answer.
Jill puffed air past her cheeks.
Kirby drew out. "Ookaay, maybe they're outside?"
They both screamed seeing you at the door.
"YN?!" Jill exclaimed.
Kirby told her. "I uh…I don't remember but I must have invited her?"
Jill mouthed "What?" In complete confusion before you grabbed a hold of both their arms.
"Come on, we need to get you both out of here right now." Your voice was tense, on high alert knowing what was gonna happen.
Jill shook her head. "Wait, what? What happened?"
You didn't let her know about her Mom but just insisted. "I'll tell you on the way but right now, we need to go-" You got cut off.
By a scream…
Kirby clutched her mouth and Jill gasped…You turned and looked behind you to see what they were seeing…Robbie on the ground. Not getting up. On fire in the front yard. Wailing in agony.
Kirby panicked. "Oh my God! ROBBIE! Oh my fucking God!-" She went to go to the garage for a fire extinguisher and you stopped her right when a figure charged at all of you from the dark. Running up the porch steps knife in hand.
Kirby and Jill screamed as you shoved them inside and told them to go. Slamming the door in the killer's face but they shoved it open in time as you all had no choice but to rush up the stairs.
You fell on the stairs as they grabbed your ankle. No weapon on you. The true final ending has just begun.

Kirby: Mysterious Incident on the Pupupu Train! - Chapter 9: Protect Everyone!
Previous Chapter
Kirby continued to gather strength. His hands were numb, and he felt dizzy, but he didn’t let up. The Jet Copy Ability used stored power to attack enemies by headbutting and kicking into them. Kirby had used this Copy Ability several times before, but this was the first time he was using it to store so much power. Would he even be able to lift something as heavy as the train? He didn’t know. But Kirby didn’t hesitate.
“Strength… the strength… I need the strength…!”
The meteor gradually drew closer. He heard the driver speak through the communication device.
“A bit more… just a bit more, Mr. Kirby… Just a little…!”
Kirby clenched both his fists. He had only one chance. If he failed, there wouldn’t be enough time for him to store up strength. He heard tense breathing from the driver, who was staring intently at the screen. Then, it happened.
“Kirby, now!”
Kirby looked straight ahead and shouted.
“EXPLODINNNGGGGGG… JUMP!!”
The tank on his back blew out a tremendous flame. However, the Pupupu Train continued to travel on the tracks. There was no sign of it rising up. Kirby kept a straight face and yelled.
“TAAAHHHHH! JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!!"
He felt like he could hear the voices of everyone on the train.
“Do your best, Kirby!”
“Kirby! Kirby!”
Kirby opened his mouth wide.
“TAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!! I’M DOING IT!!”
The train slowly rose. The passengers were trembling and calling out to Kirby rom their rooms.
“Yes! Yes! Keep going, Kirby!”
“Ora ora ora ora!”
“Please do it!!”
Kirby put more and more effort into it.
“More and more! BIG, BIG BIG JUMP!”
The train left from the track at a steep angle and rushed through space towards the meteor.
Kirby continued to shout.
“Not yet! Not yet! TAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!”
The train rose so fast that it barely grazed the meteor.
From the cabin, the driver shouted. “Good job, Mr. Kirby! Now for me to do my job! Just leave it to me!”
He checked the direction of the train and looked at the speedometer.
“Landing a jumping vehicle on the tracks is insane, but…”
The sparkling train tracks projected onto the screen and the driver shouted.
“It’s the job of a driver to protect the passengers! UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”
At that moment, there was a massive impact that caused the whole train to nearly flip over. The last car was hit by the meteor and destroyed. The driver went pale.
“We couldn’t dodge it…?! Then the passengers…!?”
At that moment, the conductor’s voice came through the speakers.
“This is the conductor. The cargo hold has been destroyed.”
“The passenger cars?! What about the passenger cars!?”
“The passenger cars are safe. I am currently checking on the passengers.”
“I see… don’t push yourself too hard.”
The driver let out a deep breath.
“The passenger car is safe! Only the freight car was damaged! Everyone is safe!”
He tightened his expression and gripped the lever.
“I must…protect! Protect the passengers!”
(SCREEEEECHHHHH)
With a roar, the Pupupu train landed on the stretched track and picked up speed.
~~~~~~~~
The conductor and maid called out as they made their way down the hallway of the passenger car.
“Is everyone safe? Are any of you injured?”
One after the other, the doors of each room opened up and the passengers peeked out.
“That was a massive tremor! I screamed when I thought we were gonna be hit by the meteor!”
“So the plan was a success and Kirby did it?”
“Yeah! A huge success!”
The conductor and maid gave a smile as cheers resounded.
“We’re safe! We’re safe!”
“Hooray! Let’s party!”
Within the uproar, Bandana Waddle Dee shouted.
“What about Kirby? We have to quickly help him out!”
Pushing aside the Waddle Dees, King Dedede appeared.
“Ow ow ow…I hit my head against the wall! Stupid Kirby, couldn’t he have been a bit more gentle with the jumping?!”
“Your highness…!”
“I’m gonna go complain. You all wait here.”
Dedede opened up the car window.
“I’ll join you.”
The voice came from Meta Knight. The two of them exited the window. Kirby was unconscious on top of the train with both of his hands still grasping the top of the train. His jet tank was cold after using up all the charge from it. King Dedede and Meta Knight landed next to him and called out.
“Are you really sleeping? Get up, Kirby!”
“You did well, Kirby. Thanks to you, everyone made it out safely.”
However, Kirby did not regain consciousness.
“Chef Kawasaki’s gonna make a whole feast for you.”
Kirby’s eyes did not open.
“He didn’t wake up even though I said he was going to have a feast. This is serious…” Meta Knight said with worry.
“That’s not even trying! If you wanna wake up Kirby, here’s what you do!”
Dedede reached into his gown and pulled out a bright red maximum tomato.
Meta Knight was taken aback.
“Why would you bring that out here…?”
“It’s a king’s preference. Eat up, Kirby!”
He shoved the Maximum Tomato in front of Kirby’s mouth. Maximum Tomatoes are Kirby’s favorite food, so it caused him to instantly spring awake.
“Waah! A Maximum Tomato! Thank you for the food!”
Kirby suddenly gained a lot of energy, opened his mouth, and gulped the maximum tomato down. With an utterance of “good grief” from Meta Knight, he stood up.
~~~~~~~~
All the passengers gathered in the dining car for a huge party. Of course, it was a sweets party.
“I’ve made lots of cakes! They’re new recipes that I’m proud of! We’re celebrating the fact that we avoided the meteor, so everyone eat as much as you like!” Chef Kawasaki said with a shining face.
Cheers rose from the passengers. “Hurray!”
“To commemorate the success of avoiding the meteor!”
While everyone was overjoyed, Captain Vul tried to quietly leave the dining car without being noticed, but was stopped by a concerned Chef Kawasaki.
“Where are you going, Captain Vul? Do you not want to participate in the sweets party?”
“…I have no right to participate in it.” He replied in a solemn voice. “I’ve caused everyone trouble. I’m returning to my room.”
Chef Kawasaki ran over to him. “You told the truth and returned the sugar, so that’s enough.”
“But...”
“What does everyone else think? Can Vul participate in the party?”
The chef looked around at everyone’s faces. The first person to raise their voice was Kirby. “He can!” He shouted, raising both of his hands. “It’ll be more delicious if everyone eats together! Now come and sit down, Vul!”
The passengers looked at each other before responding.
“Well, him hiding the sugar was pretty awful…”
“He said he’s sorry, so I’ll forgive him.”
“It’s as Kirby said, sweets are better when eaten together!”
Similar comments rose up, but Vul’s face didn’t lighten up.
“…I’m glad that you say that, but… it’s humiliating as the captain of the Halberd…”
“Of course, you will have to be punished.” Meta Knight said.
“…I am prepared to accept it.”
“Starting tomorrow, you are forbidden from eating sweets.”
Vul, who had been hanging his head, shot up in shock. “No… sweets…?”
“It’ll also help with your diet so you can kill two birds with one stone.”
“Y… yeah…” Vul blinked. “But if I’m forbidden from eating sweets, then I can’t participate in the party today, right…?”
“Meta Knight said “tomorrow”. You can participate in the party today!” Chef Kawasaki said.
“B…but…!”
In response to Vul’s complex expression, the chef replied. “It’ll be fine. I made a lot of snacks that you can eat even if you are on a diet. I’ve made tofu cake, coconut milk agar, and other delicious dessert recipes that won’t make you fat!”
“…what?! Tofu cake… agar…!?”
Vul trembled as if he was struck by lightning.
“D…desserts like that exist…?!”
“Yeah! So you should participate in the party!”
“U… uu… you have my gratitude… thank you so much, Chef Kawasaki!”
“If that’s what you’ve decided, then let’s start right now! Cheers, everyone!” King Dedede said.
Everyone raised their glasses full of juice.
“Cheers! Cheers!”
“Thank you, Kirby, and to Capsule J2 as well!”
“I don’t remember much about what happened… but it was something amazing, right?” Capsule J2 said, embarrassed.
“Yeah, it was amazing!”
“It was thanks to you that Kirby was able to have enough strength to do it!”
“You’re the greatest!”
“It’s not just Kirby and Capsule J2 we should be grateful for, we should also thank the crew of the Pupupu Train. We would not be successful if it wasn’t for them.” Meta Knight said.
Everyone shouted in agreement.
“That’s right! Thank you, driver, conductor, and maid!”
“Snacks have been delivered to the cabin. I have a message from the driver. He said “Thank you very much for using the Pupupu Train. Although there was a slight incident, the train will continue its trip unhindered.”.” Bandana Waddle Dee said.
The passengers smiled and applauded.
“It’s not just the crew of the train, but I’d also like to thank York. He carefully wrapped a blanket around me so I didn’t get hurt.” Waddle Doo said.
“Same here. That guy went to each cabin one by one to make sure all the passengers were safe. I don’t like him, but I’d like to thank him anyway.” Bonkers added.
Everyone saw York sitting in the corner of the room.
The maid spoke up. “I’m really glad that no one was hurt, president. President… um… president?”
Even when he was called out to, York didn’t respond. In contrast to the joyful passengers, he seemed devastated, not even participating in the cheers and just mumbling to himself.
“The cargo hold… it took so much effort to collect those slumbercumbers…!”
Hearing this, King Dedede threw his head back. “Too bad for you. Your moneymaking scheme has collapsed!”
“…”
“That means you can’t do anything bad!”
York was completely depressed and continued to talk to himself.
“But… there’s one box… only the box that was carried to the kitchen was safe…”
No one was listening to his monologue anymore. Everyone was smiling and chatting as they ate the cakes that were brought in one after another. However, Meta Knight was the only one staring at him with sharp eyes.

Introduction
Hello, I am Tasha (you may also call me by my fursona name, Somi, though I kinda prefer Tasha)
I'm not new to this site, I created a new account after years of feeling bad about the drama I flung myself into on this site because I have to stop feeling bad and I decided I should try to redeem myself here. And also cus friends use this site as well.
Anyways, what u need to know about me is that I'm 18, I'm Canadian, I draw stuff, I'm autistic, I'm a multifandom weirdo with too many interests in media, and I enjoy cartoons and games and stuff.
I may not too active here, either I'm active on other apps or I'm may be a little paranoid to use this site again (Though I am actually getting a hang of it!)
My significant interests in question:
Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman, Touhou, Idiotopia/Minecraft for Noobs (if it has Basya in it then sign me up!), Animal Crossing, Splatoon, King of the Hill, Deadpool, Papa's Games (Flipline stuff), My Singing Monsters, Super Mario, Kirby, Spongebob Squarepants, Smile For Me, Spliced, The Outsiders, Kitty Bobo, Just Dance, Happy Tree Friends, Minecraft, Pac-Man Party, Viva Piñata, Coconut Fred, Plants vs Zombies, Hatsune Miku/Vocaloid, Fortnite uhh I can't rly think of more, if I do think of more then I may add them here.
Another thing you may notice about me is that I may rant or vent on here if I'm feeling emotional about something, or I'm rambling about something. Idk, it depends on how I'm feeling!
IMPORTANT: Please do NOT beg for requests or art trades. That is stuff I only do for friends, so if you're thinking about doing that, then shoo.
And if you're gonna use my art for inspiration, then be my guest. Please just credit me if you're gonna repost my art and for the love of god DON'T STEAL IT.
Also please don't ask me about things I drew in my younger times, or tell me about them. It makes me uncomfy :(
And one more thing. PLEASE KEEP ANYTHING RELATED TO OBJECT SHOWS OFF MY BLOG!! I'm sorry to those who are fans of it but I've had personal difficulties with being in the community years ago and mentions of anything related to object shows makes me very uncomfortable ;((
I don't know if I can consider being friends on this site. Again I'm trying to redeem myself on this website. There are certain people who I don't wanna interact with for several reasons.
Anyways, thanks for reading. I don't know what to say other than I'm happy to finally use this as an alternative (besides Bluesky) to stupid fucking Twitter.
Weeeeeeee

A friend implored me to share my KirbyOCs on here. x3 I have 2 but here's my favorite Agape.
I've had this Kirby OC since I was like 7yrs old lol. I very rarely ever drew them and just kinda rotated them in my head for years. I finally started solidifying their appearance and character design in the last couple years cuz I really wanted to join in on the Kirby fandom's love for their characters. >.< but I still haven't lol
Their name is Agape (ah-gah-pay), tho I'm sure I mispronounce it, which is the old Greek word for the love for all things, Aka ur instinctual love for even strangers and the want to see them happy. The reason u smile at a baby when they look at you or feel sympathy and hurt when u see someone crying.
Since Amazing Mirror was my first Kirby game, I'd tried making a Chip into a Star Warrior. I loved the Emerald Spray from the game as well so their base color is that emerald/mint green (but more pastel) and their fur is a creamy yellow. Their cheekies and eyes are a light pastel pink. Once Squeak Squad came out and the Animal copy ability was released, I was more excited for them. Their design has shifted a lot since then (their fur used to be a lil hoodie the way Animal's is) but this is their design as of now! :D I'm going to try and doodle some more so I can show their adopted brother too, which is actually just Kimyrn as an AU cameo into Kirby lmfaoooo
They were a medic in the GSA. Their inate power was that they can shapeshift into anything they've bitten/ate. Some of their favorites are to turn their fur into frosting or custard to give others a sweet treat. Because of their ability, before they joined the GSA, they were a bit of an outcast. People didn't trust them and since there is no way to tell if someone is themselves or Agape playing a game, people would grow resentful of Agape and the mistrust they sowed in the communities they lived in. They learned not to turn into others without their explicit consent, but it didn't stop the inherent distrust of their person. If a monster attacked and no one saw Agape, they'd often blame Agape for the attack. The GSA was on the chase for them, having believed these rumors of a monster that bounced from town to town / planet to planet trying to trick people into letting it live in their homes only to destroy it. When they finally caught up to Agape, scared and alone, it became clear that this creature just had the misfortune of having an ability no one trusted. Agape joined the GSA to finally have a community that would love and trust them... and they paid it forward in a hunderedfold.
Agape became a medic and a fierce warrior. What good was a medic that couldn't fight their way into a monster hoard to save you? They loved all their friends with such a sweet passion that the other Star Warriors began to wonder how anyone had ever hated them. Agape was always willing to comfort and cuddle others, especially the wounded were showered in affection. When the Kirby anime made the remark that Star Warriors give their Warp Stars to those that truly love them for protection, and that they would return to that person on their own, I started tangling Warp Stars in Agape's fur. I feel like their unconditional love for everyone in their community made people trust them with their Stars. Agape cares for each and every one of them in their care.

Maestro Hiccups 3: Chaos Incarnate Ch 69
"We can't fight against Whispy Woods! We have to find Drew and Vito as quickly as possible!" You shout. The group nods "On the count of 3, we run." You say.
You look ahead just as Whispy seems to stopped. "1...2...3! RUN!!" You shout. The 5 of you make a break for it as Whispy begins to blow at you again. "Hurry!" Kirby yells as you rush to get out of his line of sight. Whispy then chucks an apple at Kirby's head, but Celestia sucks it up and shoots it back at the tree, dazing it.
"That should buy us some time! Let's go!" Kirby says as Celestia gives her own "Poyo!" The 5 of you run away from the angered tree before you find a small street to hide on. "Phew...that was close." Leo pants. You kneel on the ground. "Now then...let's find Drew and Vito. Where do you think they could be?" You asked.
Celestia gives a "POYO!" And Kirby translates "She said that they might be with their family, with everything that's happening, I think they'd go there to see if anything happened." He says. "Well then that's where we gotta go. You guys know the way?" You ask.
"Yep! Let's go." Kirby said, leading the way. He takes you through the video game level that is Blossom Bay, and you can see the various power ups and enemies that had turned the place upside down. "The sooner we stop these kids, and find Mei, the sooner we can fix everything." You tell Kirby and Celestia.
The two of them smile before you hear a Ruckus down another street. Turning a corner, you see the clown car from before, only this time it's holding 8 child-like Koopas, one of which has wand that's lifting a girl wearing pink above the ground "HEY! PUT ME DOWN!" She shouts. "COME BACK HERE!!" A new voice shouts.
You see 2 boys, and 2 men running after the kids. The boys seem to be in their teens, while the men had 2 very familiar mustaches. "MARIO AND LUIGI! That must mean that Drew and Vito are with them!" Kirby exclaimed "Well what the heck are we waiting for! Let's go!" You shout.
That's when Emma suggested something "Wait, if those were the Koopa Kids, maybe we can catch them by surprise and stop them from getting any further. Maybe we can stop them before they do anything else!" She says.
You think about your options. You did have power ups, and the Koopa Kids didn't know that you were even HERE. Maybe you could catch them by surprise and help out the brothers, it would certainly help you find Mei a little faster, not to mention you wouldn't waste time trying to catch up to the speedy sets of brothers
Mei, Celestia, Drew, Vito, Blossom Bay and PLU belong to @sundove88
