OUGH, I LOVE HOW YOU DRAW SO MUCH!!! If it's not too much to ask could you show how you do it? Because like, your art is so yummy! And how do you color pick?? Every time I see the colors you use I'm just gen flabbergasted
not entirely sure what to give you here, as i dont do speedpaints/timelapses (they slow down my csp a lot). I just draw. When it comes to colours, i usually have an idea how to colour when i do the sketch, as its easier to plan it out at that stage. If it helps you: i try to reuse as many colours in the drawing as possible, to not make it look too much, especially when theres a lot of details going on. It helps keeping the artwork consistent, i suppose. I choose one "leading" colour beforehand, same with an accent colour, if there is one (and its usually red for me). In the Przemek drawings case the leading one would be grey (greenish grey to avoid using blue, as its not a colour i ever really use, and you can trick your brain into believing its blue with context; my limitations extend to not using the other half of the colour wheel, but i know many people dont like to limit themselves like that) and the accent colour would be red. In the other two drawings i try to not use accents much, relying on black (or the almost black) to make the artwork feel fuller. Which is why a lot of my drawings have the black border around; it helps to balance things out. And its good for posting online. If you have trouble putting the colours down, maybe try to do thumbnails? They help me a lot with figuring things out. Also i use a lot of different layer modes, with the ones im most dependent on being overlay (usually greyish reds to make the drawings warmer), colour burn, brightness (very dark colour on low opacity, i just like the effect it gives) and glow dodge (golds and oranges usually, especially on character faces, to light them up a little and make them "pop" more. Just be careful not to overdo it). When i have trouble with values, i make a black layer on top of the drawing set to saturation, to make it a greyscale of sorts. It helps me see where things should be darker for balance. I dont know. hope this helps?
#i dont usually save my thumbnails which is why i used the almost 2 years old mika drawing#art stuff#ask :)

HEY GUYS!
This is a Sans AU (and Sanscest Ship) + Undertale AU Blog!
Welcome to my Blog where I post usually everything! (reblogs, art, text.)
i love u pookie @voidzphere <3
To get things out of the way just gonna list some people I DONT want here!
-PRODARKSHIPPERS/Comshippers, or whatever label your covering yourselves with, YOU ARE NOT VALIDATED OR WANTED HERE! I cannot control who follows me, but if I catch one following me its an immediate block. This also goes for the people who support them but aren't directly calling themselves a prodarkshipper.
-Racists, White-supremacists, Homophobics/Transphobics, people who make fun of Xeno-Genders and/or Neo-Pronouns.
-I do not want people under 12 to be on my blog.
I HAVE DIVERSE ARTSTYLES
I really like to experiment with art-styles, so i cant promise that my art-style will be consistent! Sometimes I may stick to one for a couple of weeks, but I may gradually move onto another! (Except for my oval head style, I'll forever love that one!)
I USE ANY PRONOUNS!
refer to me as a girl, boy, neither, nothing, I DONT CARE!! (You can literally never misgender me.)
NO NSFW
The definition on NSFW for me is, sex, or nudity (sexual), anything not okay for young children to see. (and since I am A minor, I will not post (any art) related to anything like that.)
I do NOT draw and post art that is nsfw.
I am a Minor!
Reminder that I am a minor, so no sincere suggestive comments towards me, even if you are a minor yourself. (this excludes my Partner <3.)
I do Sans X Sans Ships!!
This should be obvious! If you do not like Sanscest this isnt the blog for you! I make some once in a while, if not all the time.. And I am a multishipper!
Do not DM me for an art-trade or for free art if you are a stranger, I will not reply.
I use IPAD and APPLE PENCIL, (I use the app Procreate and the online site Magma) to draw.
I may also use other devices, (phone, laptop.)
I may update this, idk when, but if the date is different and you care, just check in to see what I added.

I'm a pretty young artist and I'm not sure what I need to start off with.
Anatomy or color?
tl;dr there's no correct answer for this.
but you can start off by asking yourself what do i want to draw? what do i want to draw right now? depending on your subject, what style you want to learn/do (painted, linework) then that can determine how you think while you draw.
however, you won't and never will learn one thing into completion and then move onto the next, its a continuous process of learning and relearning.
you can learn either anatomy or color one at a time, or dedicate time split for both. imo, you learn both best together. either way, you learn both continuously for the entire time that you will ever engage with drawing. there's always a lot to learn.
i feel like a lot of beginner artists get wrapped up on thinking that one should be prioritized over the other, so my answer to this question is long:
the usual route people go to for this question is to focus on fundamental studies. in the few semesters of fundamental courses i had, our structure was this:
learn solid forms, shape, lights, grayscale values, perspective AND gesture/figures
continue building on gesture/figures AND start learning color(traditional painting)
continue with gesture/figure + start learning anatomy AND continue learning color (digital painting)
we start off with many other basic building blocks first before getting to anatomy/color, but those basic blocks are essential to building up how you think when practicing both. but where do you put this in practice while drawing for fun? this is time dedicated for studying fundamentals, after all. schooling helps, but a majority of us start out as self taught, especially since there's a multitude of free learning resources online.
if your preference of learning is to do things one step at a time, then maybe dedicating your time to fundamentals is the way to go. there's lots of educational resources out there to help build these fundamentals. at the top of my head, here's a few resources for anatomy: proko, sinix design, glenn vilppu (great for gestures). if there's anything to take away from this regarding anatomy, its to practice perspective, form, gesture, and figure first and foremost. anatomy dives deeply into more complex forms. start simple before you get overwhelmed.
unfortunately, i dont have many resources to give you in terms of learning fundamentals for color. i primarily learned off of experimenting and studying off of other artworks. i've already covered a lot on my thought process behind how i think when painting, so that post might be insightful the moment you get more into using color.
now, im gonna assume that you haven't had formal schooling in art (either not yet, or won't), but you spend your time drawing for fun. and now you want to dedicate a bit more time and practice into anatomy/color. i started off self taught, so i can relate.
earlier, i mentioned this question:
where do you put [fundamentals] in practice while drawing for fun?
when looking at your question again, i think of this: do i want to practice fundamentals as i draw for fun?
there's definitely a difference and spectrum between "going balls to the wall crazy and drawing for fun" and "using my drawing time for studies/practicing fundamentals."
if your answer is yes to that question above, then you're on the right track for seeing how this works in practice the moment you participate in both "drawing for fun" and "practicing fundamentals" for self practice.
in any drawing i do, i want my subjects to be posed as [xyz], but i also want the final illustration to look like [xyz] for color.
i gather references for both posing and color, and while drawing i look to study both at the same time. with posing, im looking at refs to study anatomy as i draw. sometimes i may only use one ref photo, or multiple, but either way im checking for various information like what are the proportions, how might the skin fold, what areas of body have soft/hard edges, what might these limbs look like when foreshortened, etc. with color refs i study them to analyze how another piece of artwork is doing something that i'd like to achieve in my own art. this goes back to things i've mentioned here.
in short, the time drawing for fun is also a time to put fundamental practice in place that helps build your skills as an artist. either way, my advice is to learn as you go and have try to have fun while you practice.
in the end, this is my perspective when i look at this question. others may disagree and have a different opinion, but at the end of the day, everyone has a different process on how they practice and grow as an artist.
this was lengthy, but this is an extremely broad question that goes beyond choosing one or the other, and there's reasons why that is. i hope i explained this well enough and that it answered your question in some way!

I get asked a lot if people can draw my ocs. YES! I usually draw something back if I have the chance too (no promises). I do ask that you do not whitewash my OC's, especially Mzamaki. It's incredibly awkward as it has happened way too many times for me to be comfortable with. His coloration is based on what I think is most aesthetically pleasing, and very intentional. It kills my excitement to see a free work of art get it wrong, and y'know. I can't really complain because it's free, so it just sucks... I don't believe it's an intentional message of whiteness being better, I will always give the benefit of the doubt. I strongly don't like it though
Art trades are always welcome too
My OC's are grouped by who they most interact with. Additionally if there have been any posts made about them they will have a hashtag

I have some questions abt hellenic polytheism and how its practiced. I myself have been practicing it for a while, but something I noticed while researching about it is a distinct lack of actual greek people in online social media spaces. It was first brought to my attention after seeing a reddit post and youtube video explaining how using “hellenismos” is considered cultural appropriation. After that, Ive noticed how the main sources Ive used about hellenic polytheism isnt really from the people whos culture were trying to practice. AKA non greeks.
I would like to know your explanations on the basics of hellenic polytheism like altars/shrines, khernips, prayers, devotees, tarot/oracle cards, pendulums, kharis, and offerings. There might be some knowledge that I got wrong and need to change, like maybe the way I give offerings needs fixing and I need to give more perishable offerings like food than handmade crafts like art for apollo. And maybe theres a spicic way to do it and not just place it on the altar. Other than websites like hellenicfaith.com, r/hellenism is usually my main source with a grain of salt because of the strange lack of greeks in discussions, and although my friend who is also practicing hellenic polytheism gives me a lot of advice, their main sources are tiktok and. Well, I dont think I need to explain why thats a bad source. (Their main justification is “of course tiktok isnt that serious” and “it comes from the pagans themselves”)
Also, Im also curious on your thoughts about people who practice in secret.
I hope this isnt too long, I just wanna make sure Im using a better source than reddit because, well, its reddit. Not the most reliable source.
Hello! If you don't mind I will also address two more questions I got on the matter, since I feel they are related to yours. They are the following:
Hello all! You did very well to seek Greek sources because you are essentially dealing with a foreign culture and it's not right to assume it looks just like your local one. I will guide you as much as I can but I am very open to being corrected by knowledgeable Greeks and xenoi alike because I am not an infallible scholar. As always, my posts are open to additions in case I missed something.
Let me start by saying I believe it's important to focus on the living Greeks as well, in parallel to your studies of ancient religious texts. Not only were our ancient people diverse with various opinions but... they are also dead and cannot speak anymore. So, it's the alive Greeks who now handle and pass down the culture. If something gives the ick to modern Greeks, it probably goes against what the culture considers appropriate or strange.
Greeks will get "the ick" even if they are not well-read on ancient Greek customs, because the Greek culture largely holds its philosophy when it comes to worship. Disclaimer: This is not an unbroken rule, as some of our cultural elements have shifted or changed, as it happens to all cultures around the globe, and also because a Greek does not know everything. But it's good to keep that general statement in mind.
An example of a practice not seen favorably by Greeks nowadays is some Western women practitioners covering their heads because of Hellenic Polytheism. The ancient faith may demand it but the veil was forced a lot on Greek women and collectively we believe it doesn't make any sense to wear it, even in scenarios of faith tied to our culture. Now, that doesn't mean that it's any of our business if a Hellenic Polytheist wants to veil but it'd be good for this person to have knowledge of the history and rights of Greek women, and really evaluate why they want to veil beyond "the ancients did it", since Greek culture is largely disagreeable to that practice now. Find a larger discussion on veiling here.
Also please capitalize the first letter of Apollo's name because this shows proper respect ;)
Let's dive into specifics a little bit. Our culture was and is practical and anthropocentric. It takes into account reality and environment, as well as human nature.
For the anthropocentric aspect: Yes, there are general guidelines because we are talking about a tradition here but no one will take your head if you do it a bit differently. As for the practical aspect: if you give non-perishable items to the gods by putting them on their altar, in 10 years you won't have a space in your house to stand. If they are non-perishable you have no reason to remove them. Because if you remove them is like taking back offerings that were meant for the deity.
The offerings of Greeks in Polytheism and Christianity included perishable items such as food, candles/oil lamps, flowers, incense, libations, etc. And since they go bad you have a reason to remove them. But you also don't want any waste on the streets or in your house. Even the sacrificed animals were meant to be eaten, and the Greek communities believed that the smell of roasted meat made the gods rejoice. In some cases, offerings that were left outside were meant to be consumed by the homeless and travelers. Everything has a purpose and a reason within that specific community. (Flowers not so much, they are just ornamental)
It's not that you cannot or should not offer non-perishable items to the gods. I'm sure a few don't hurt anyone. Just keep in mind that if the offering is a non-perishable item it is/was usually offered to the temple, so the priests can sustain themselves and continue doing their religious service on behalf of the community. We are talking about coins, clothing, jugs, animals, or whatever else.
Continuing on the matter of offerings. A small rant on how clueless some people seem to be about offerings. It would be weird to knit a winter scarf for a god and then wear it yourself because that's not how dedication/devotion works in the Greek context. Also, leaving that winter scarf on the altar doesn't make sense either because it's just… impractical in the Greek sense. You are wasting a scarf, to put it plainly. But if you make something for one deity then give it to the deity, don't wear it yourself.
I'll tackle a few more specifics now. I think you already know what they mean so I will give my opinion on them rather than explaining them. I think my opinion is shared by many Greeks.
hellenismos -> I am not sure if it's appropriation but it's surely inaccurate. Here is why, for those who wonder, with some suggestions on how to call yourself. (hint: Hellenic Polytheist is fine)
on how to be respectful and accurate: I always recommend reading as many ancient Greek texts as possible the view of the gods directly from the ancient worshipers themselves. You can read whatever texts interest you, including plays. Plays are my favourite source, to be honest. Understand on your own what the text says. The Hymn to Demeter is focused on the pain of a mother, which is pretty obvious, you are under no obligation to hear Kate the TikToker who insists on something different. You don't have to hear YouTubers who tell you Zeus is an asshole when ancient texts show us the opposite, and give a good context on why he does what he does.
altars/shrines -> The altars I've seen are usually fine, so I think western polytheists have this down. The ancient ones would be more homogenous but in our era the religion is unorganized so it's up to the individual to create an altar. Greeks still have altars in their homes as a continuation of our polytheist practices and they also have some variation. Generally, all good here.
khernips -> χέρνιψ literally translates to "washer of hands". It's a Greek practice to have clean hands before touching any sacred objects, either in Dodekatheism or in Christianity. We do not always follow it but it's important. Our old custom is also to wash hands, face, and feet before entering our Christian temples (that's why there are κρήνες outside many of them) but that's not practiced anymore because our hygiene is overall better and we already visit the temple while clean.
The cleansing part will feel natural for most Greeks and not unfit for the whole procedure. You can also cleanse items with water if the purification ritual says so. Don't lose sleep over it. Remember practicality. Khernips is just water with which you wash your hands and you can do it before a meal, like we do today. It is meant to keep you clean but doesn't bear any spiritual force - it's not like the holy water of Christians which is imbued with divine power. It's just water included in a practice that helps the religious person get ready for spiritual time.
Also! Khernips doesn't mean that you wash the whole body! It's second part, νήβω / nivo = rub is connected to cleaning body parts. For the cleanliness of the whole body we used/use "λούω / λούζω". Fun fact, on of the greatest christian temples Hagia Sofia, had a reminder outside the gate with the same verb, and it was an anagram. "ΝΙΨΟΝ ΑΝΟΜΗΜΑΤΑ ΜΗ ΜΟΝΑΝ ΟΨΙΝ", meaning "wash your sins, too, not just your face". This anagram is found in other Christian sites, as well.
prayers -> Any prayer is good. There are only a few ways a prayer can go "wrong", since there's not a subscription for that. For example a prayer has to usually praise the magnanimity of the deity, even if you are just doing it to ask something, but words from the heart are also fine. Zeus won't smite you if you include him in a phrase without praising him first.
devotees -> Afaik this was a rare phenomenon in antiquity and it's only nowadays that Westerners decided that everyone is a devotee, which looks weird to Greeks because being a devotee doesn't work exactly like Westerners do it. You don't get to pick one god, talk 99% of the time about that god, or worship just them and not recognize the whole pantheon, or just give little attention to them.
Ancient Greek towns and people had gods they were closer to, for sure, but from what I know they didn't have the same concept as modern foreign worshipers today. They were not "αφιερωμένοι"/devoted, unless they devoted their life to a deity by serving in their temple. The devoted/devotees were not everyday people.
The everyday people felt closer to some gods in the way someone can have a saint or a prophet that they align themselves with, that they feel like they can see themselves on them, or that these gods see them, or that they are related to their struggles, or have given them some sort of protection. A cultivator of vineyards will probably feel closer to Dionysus, while a fisherman to Poseidon, and a warrior to Ares. It's the same for Christian Greeks, since each of the saints has one domain and we call on them depending on our needs.
I mean, it's okay if modern people want to make new things, but we should also be clear on the nature of the ancient practice.
tarot/oracle cards, pendulums -> They are unrelated to the practice. They are just recent elements of western spiritual fascination, and the ancient Greek religion is already complete without them. If Apollo chooses to reveal himself through tarot he may as well reveal himself on a toaster xD A toaster is as related to the ancient Greek religion as much as tarot cards.
kharis -> Some Westerners overhype foreign words that are, in reality, very simple terms. Kharis is just "the grace of god" and the concept is similar to the grace spoken in Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. Kharis is not lost if you forget to wash your hands once, or if you are afraid that the item you placed on the altar is not good enough. You don't have to tiptoe around it, it's not something incomprehensible and mystical.
miasma -> Nobody asked for it but I am delivering it anyways because I see many new people to the religion treat miasma like they are 5th-century Greeks who will be punished by the plague if they menstruate too close to the altar. I've seen endless discussions online about what miasma is and all the detailed ways that you can avoid it, and how to cleanse everything and... as a 21st-century practitioner you are not supposed to be that fearful. In the Πλυντήρια festival, the statue of Athena goddess was washed clean but also cleansed metaphorically by people's sins. And you can cleanse your statues as well of course but not with the mindset of considering yourself unclean. Do not follow every advice from ancient people who thought women unclean when menstruating. Ironically, this post and this post from r/hellenism have a good approach to this. As one user says:
people who practice in secret -> I don't have particular thoughts for them. If they must hide their spirituality for reasons beyond their control, it's natural for them to do so. I wish them the best in their spiritual journey.
Take a look at my F.A.Q. page, and more specifically on these questions:
Can I worship the Greek gods as a xenos (non-Greek)?
What do Greeks think of people outside of Greece worshiping the Greek gods?
Reading List / Book recommendations on Greek Mythology
Are the Greek gods assholes? // What’s up with gods coupling with mortal women?
Also, when it comes to the practices of the ancient Greek religion, Google Scholar is your friend. Read a variety of scholars and please include Greek ones on your reading list. Western academia focuses a lot on what the myth means to The West today, while Greek academia focuses on what the myths meant in their time. Some classical students report that studying classics in Greece VS in the US can be night and day, and they got a more authentic feeling from the knowledge they gained from the Greek classes.
For gods, festivals, and rituals in Greece, I have some recommendations below, if you’d like to take a look! (The links open directly to them so you can read them for free)
Let it rain’, or ‘rain, conceive’: Rituals of magical rain-making in Ancient Greece, a comparative approach. In Roca, Z. et al. (eds.): European Landscapes and Lifestyles: The Mediterranean and Beyond. Lisboa: Edições Universitárias Lusófonas 2007: 285-304.

p.s., I call Christian temples "temples" because that's how we call them. We use ναός very frequently for our religious buildings.
I hope I covered your questions so far 💙😊 See you around, and have a great day!

very much related to my text post from earlier today- and my general tone and feelings abt this while writing is just like, neutral thoughtful retrospectiveness bc im an oldhead in fandom and ive seen a lot of shifts in online culture. so this is basically me doing a pseudo-anthropology amateur hour thing about what ive seen and also partook in when i was a tween/teenager. but i do actually think i know why so many ppl get really fuckin nasty and petty about ships and headcanons beyond, yknow, the bullshit fake morality dischorse thats just ship wars with extra excuses to enact cruelty- which is that everyone in fandom, but particularly fanartists on tumblr/twitter with a big following who have had a big following for years, are
1) extremely attached to their headcanons and how they view a text/canon (reasonable and human, thats how fandoms work), and
2) because theyre so extremely attached to their headcanons and personal lens they think they're the only one in the fandom whos 100% correct, who has all the answers, who has the ultimate understanding of xyz. in this case homestuck.
and i think its particularly bad in the homestuck fandom because theres so much to analyze. homestuck is a CHUNKY piece of media. its been going for ages, its had so much time to mature and breath as a piece of art. its not for casual fannish folks. even if you go into it expecting a chill and mild time you usually come out the other end with ur hair smoking and with a thousand yard stare. and like, i dont think this is a bad thing necessarily, but it becomes a bad thing when
3) bc the fandom is old, there are a considerable amount of fanartists with large followings who all think theyre the only one whos 100% correct and that their ideas are 'closest to god', meaning closest to the creators ideas
and finally- 4) their following gives these popular fans a constant stream of yes-manning which then leads to dogpiling on anyone who dares to disagree with the popular fanartist's headcanon, or even when anyone just has a different one, a disagreement isnt rlly needed. the headcanon can be anything up to and including smth like height btw, i have seen this happen
and theres also the core of this, which is that way too many fandoms seems to have forgotten what the term headcanon even MEANS. theres too much emphasis on the '-canon', which actually doesnt mean a fuckin thing when it comes to headcanons. its playing imaginary on top of something already imaginary. i dont think dirk strider being intersex is anywhere close to canon for example. honestly i dont even think dirk strider was intended to be written as anything but a cis perisex boy. but its my headcanon, which is a bubbled thing relative to me that i like messing around with in AUs
the thing about art is that no one in the audience is or will ever be ''100% correct''. no one in the audience will ever know what the creator of a piece was actually thinking of when they made it. the only one who has total and complete understanding of any work is the creator of said work, and even then thats not a given if the creator doesnt actually want to think abt everything theyve created. and i think thats okay and normal!
i really really really want to see less ppl in fandom wanting to be Correct and wanting their headcanons to be Hard Unignorable Confirmed Canon so they can be smug abt 'guessing correctly' and more ppl just wanting to have fun and explore a work from multiple angles. together. like thats actually what a fandom does, historically. we're at an arts and crafts table. ive never considered transmasc jade before for example. shes usually a trans girl in my stuff. but transmasc jade is a concept that fuckin rocks and that i now love a lot bc i saw it pop up and be explored within fandom! esp bc trans guy jade is really adorable alongside june. they swapped!
it reminds me of the fuckin 'blue curtains' thing, disregarding bad faith anti-intellectual bs nonanswers. the curtains are blue bc blue represents sadness, loneliness, want, comfort, the sky, the ocean. theyre blue bc blue is the character's favourite colour and the author wanted them to want it in their living space. theyre blue bc its the AUTHORS favourite colour and they just like using it to paint pictures either visually or with words. all of these are correct analysis of why a character's curtains could be blue. theres no wrong answer there when it comes to us as the audience thinking about art. the actual wrong answer is attacking anyone who thinks the blue curtains are blue for a different reason than you do, or that they hold any meaning at all
#our t#now do this for trans headcanons/genderbend aus and ship preferences im begging for the love of god#and im specifically saying fanartists bc of the visual aspect#a lot of fanfic for homestuck tends to be more vague or outright doesnt state anything abt visual headcanons beyond height or#weight or like freckles/scars or hair texture. its also in my experience easier to superimpose my own visual hcs onto fic#like whether or not roxy for eg is ever described visually in a fic imma imagine them as brown that kinda thing#but fanart highlighting headcanons is *specifically crafted* with those personal headcanons in mind for everyone to see#thats predominantly why we're here when it comes to fanart i think. as viewers i mean

what exactly do you really think adding two huge banners of basic online etiquette to every post of yours is going to achieve?
like post what you want but it feels condescending as hell and i dont reckon thats your goal… right?
Hi, yeah, I’m not trying to be condescending in doing that, I do that because it’s a desperate plea.
See, when I was making almost solely Adventure Time fanart earlier in the year and in later 2023, almost every single piece I made was reposted to other sites (usually Pinterest) often without credit and never with permission. I’ve also had instagram accounts randomly steal my work and miss-a credit it to other people who also stole it. This is why I’ve made my watermark more noticeable and added the do not repost banners.
I’ve also been completely ignored nearly every time I’ve tried to ask the reposters to take down my reposted artwork so I’ve decided to just. Add the banners. It gets tiring hunting down random people on Pinterest or other places who will never respond and don’t care that I want my art to NOT be reposted.
As for the reblog>likes banner, that’s because I’ve encountered a lot of new-to-tumblr people who think likes actually work in the tumblr algorithm, and don’t realize that they do basically nothing, and I’ve seen a few artists I enjoy do it so I did it too, figured it couldn’t hurt.
#do they really come off as condescending?#I meant to make them kinda funny so as to ease the viewer a bit if that makes sense? guess my humors off the mark#but yeah no not trying to be condescending just very tired of my work being stolen haha#I will say since I’ve added the banners and my improved watermark I’ve yet to see someone steal my work! so it’s doing something!!#aria asks

hey, so i know i havent posted in a while and im really sorry for that!! i probably wont be active for while after this as well. anyways, i am letting you guys know that im turning off the anonymous ask option because there are a bunch of anons being very mean and even giving one or two death threats in my ask box. i know i probably shouldnt care and that they cant actually do things to me, but i still would like it to stop. so yeah. and to the anons who keep sending me those asks: why do you do this sort of stuff? what do you have to gain from bullying a teenager on the internet? nothing. absolutely nothing. please stop. im sorry that you dont like my art and think im, and i quote, "such a bitch", but you dont have to go out of your way to send me a bunch of mean asks hating on me. please stop. there are some people out there that could take those sort of things incredibly hard and might be in bad mental states. ive heard so many stories of people killing themselves because of all the hate and threats they received on social media. i recently attended a lecture about a man's son who killed himself at thirteen because of nonstop bullying. both online and in person. this man was heartbroken when he was speaking. so imagine how other people's family and friends would feel if someone killed themselves because of you or other people hating on them. really. stop doing this. i do hope those anons see this post and take it to heart because its really important to me that people stop doing this sort of thing. its really a terrible thing to do and im honestly convinced that people who bully others relentlessly like these anons do have no soul.
i hope i can get around to posting again soon. im sorry for this whole post, i know its kinda different compared to the usual art that i do. i promise ill eventually start posting doobles again! i hope you guys have a wonderful day/night <3333
#yeah#i dont know how to tag this#uhhh#vent post#??#i think??#idk#seriously tho#please stop with the mean asks#its really starting to get bad#like#“go commit suicide” bad#please stop#i dont like it#at all#im sorry that my art doesnt appeal to everyone#but please dont hate me so horribly for it#anyways byeeeee#imma go pack for a trip#luv you guys#:)

Do you have any tips for researching historical fashion? I am very interested in finding out about many different eras of fashion for many cultures it’s just that whenever I try I get stuck and am not sure where to find any interesting resources. Have a wonderful day!
Sorry this took so long. I almost wrote a book last time and decided its unreadable for anyone other than me. So here u go with the more general and better formatted tips:
• start simple! Get to know the place youre interested in. Get to know the time period as a whole. Fashion is a broad topic that varies from place to place, so its better to start with the general ideas, and get more into smaller details from that; most of the time that basic information is easily accesible online and in various historical fashion books im sure you can find in your local library (i know its hard to recognize which sites and books are actually knowledgable and which are not; usually i just do a background check on the author and see what sources they use in their work. But even with that, dont get too attached to the information you gain; sometimes it will be correct, and sometimes it will prove false, and thats okay. Thats why youre learning and thats why you have to compare different sources to each other)
• The further down the timeline you go, the more "local" fashion gets, and looking for clothing examples gets harder, so keep that in mind; more often than not, if you want to find something from a different culture than yours, you have to get friendly with google translator, especially if youre looking for way, way older clothes.
• the reason for that is, you will not only have to check foreign sites and blogs, but also foreign archives; and these are a hell to navigate. Theyre also one of the best things to ever exist on the internet. Theres plenty of free, publicly avilable ones, hosted by museums, libraries, universities or just existing by themselves, and they have everything; scans of books and fashion magazines, fashion plates, old photos, drawings and sketches, everything. Research papers are great too
• speaking of art; its always good to look for paintings and artists of that era and culture! I dont think i need to say more on that. Books are great too, though i mostly use them for other history related stuff, since they usually dont describe fashion much
• overall, learning fashion history is a long and often slow process... id love to give you examples of sites, blogs and everything else i use, but its all in polish and very focused on 19th century; which will be useless, unless its something youre interested in. So its very much a thing you need to look for yourself... i know there are lots of historical fashion youtubers, but i dont personally watch any of them; from what ive seen though i trust that they know what theyre talking about, esp the ones that actually wear and sew historical clothes and reconstructions... theyre often focused on the west, though. At least the ones i know of; feel free to recommend some in the notes. In general feel free to post more tips and sources in the notes
Hope this can help you somehow. I dont feel like its very helpful, but its the best i can offer, im afraid. My "area of expertise" is not only european, and therefore easier to research, but also written in my mother tongue; i do however often look for foreign folk clothes, so most of those tips were written from that experience. Sorry if this isnt what you looked for

Hey saw and loved your Anime fanarts and especially your Talentless Nana art as well as the rest of your gallery and that picture inspired my own idea which I want you to draw, it's a fusion between my 2 all time favorite characters Bill Cipher and a older verison of Nana from Talentless Nana since I thought they'd compliment each other greatly! Thanks a bunch for reading and hope you're doing awesome!
thank you!! usually i would not take requests for ppl online like ever but this was such a funky one (in a good way!) that i kinda rly wanted to do it.. i honestly dont see the correlation between the two like at all but id love to hear your own thoughts if you wanted to shoot me a dm :3 it is an interesting idea.
you said older(?) nana so i went w a post-skip nana but im not entirely sure thats what you wanted..still this was a fun thing to doodle

hello! beginner artist here, can i possibly have some art tips from you?
Uuuhhhh ummm uhhhh idk what I'm doing half the time and mostly just try again and again until it gets right, but here's some stuff I've learned along the way
-Proportionwise, the elbows end at the waist, the wrist at the crotch, one hand usually makes up one side of the face up to the brow but it can be a bit smaller or bigger, the thighs and lower leg bit is around the same I think and the feet is the length of the forearm. That's only really useful if you're going for a style that has more realistic proportions tho.
-Idk shite about colour theory but I abuse the hell out of the colour wheel. I like to use complementary colours (colours opposite the colour wheel) either to have the characters stand out against the background n other stuff or for character design eg. two friends who complement each other's predominant colours complement each other. Idk if that makes sense.
-Grain effect is yummy
-If you want a character design that's strong the silhouette is important. Base it off shapes and stuff. Like, if you drew the outline of a character, would you be able to draw in the main shapes that make it up? I don't really follow this since I rely more on fashion and facial/body features to differentiate my characters, but I've heard from a lot of artist that this is a good technique
-Bodyyyyyys. Different body types, different shapes. If you struggle with drawing different body types, you could try seeing what shapes make up the body, like if you have access to a digital art app you can download images of people with different body types and draw on the shapes as an excersize or something idk. But yeah separating them into shapes helps.
-Abuse the hell out of reference even if you look goofy doing it. I do it a lot with hands since they're hard to draw (separate them into shapes for help!)
-With drawing people of different ethnicities/races there's a lot I can say but ultimately don't draw them racistly, look up POC artists who give art tutorials since their word is best and try your best to integrate ethnic features into your style. There's a lot of tutorials online I'm too lazy to write everything out plus this post is already very long haha
-Idk how to draw backgrounds sorry mate I just wing it or use reference
-What's most important to remember is that your style is your own. It's great to take inspiration from other people, but if an artist tells you that your drawing is bad because of the style (like it's not even a proper critique to help you improve it's something petty like 'I dont draw eyes like that so you shouldn't either!') just ignore it because art is art.
Fuck I just read that you're a beginner artist and this is probably too much info. Uhhh hopefully at least some of this was helpful 👍

Hello hello! Long post ahead, but something important.
I will start this by saying that I am not usually someone to start controversies. I usually just answer them, but I think this is important to mention as an adult on this website.
I have been on tumblr for quite some time now. I would say, about 7 years? And have always tried to ignore some kinds of art content, since they leave me deeply uncomfortable, even now as an adult.
I would like to mention that I don't have anything against furries. I am not one myself, but I respect other people's likes and dislikes. My problem is that, since I have "Dislyte" as a Marker so I can access it faster, this is what apears:
Now, I can't even show the original post because I reported it, but from this one single shot you can clearly see whats drawn here. This one is even MORE explicit than the last Javid fanart that was here before.
I understand that people like the character. But the thing is, even if someone manually activates the censoring of NSFW content, it STILL can leave some things uncensored (correct me if this system is way better than before, please).
We can't forget that this is still a teens game. You can ask me "oh, but llama, i bet you consumed that kind of content when you were a teen!". And you would be partially right. I read a lot of fanfictions that werent appropriate for my age, but they had WARNINGS. I was aware of them. This doesn't look like the kind of art that should be posted on tumblr, on this community specifically. I bet there are a lot of other medias where you can put it on.
I think that drawings have a lot more impact than a fanfiction. You can clearly visualize it. So I beg that artists, please, think of what you post online.
With this I dont want to hate on the artist. I just want to spread awareness. People that have access to the post can also take a look at the comments, which were just downright filthy. Which, again, its not bad to express your "desires" for a character, but please, not on tumblr.
This got really long, and I am sorry if I offended anyone, since that wasnt my intention. I just want a healthy environment for kids to grow in!

in general actually now that i think about it. fandom as a whole is 95% the reason why i dont post my art online anymore/am very delayed when i end up doing it even if i do draw fanart. thats bc like. Dealing with reposters (esp back in my fionna n cake era i got rlly pissed off seeing my stuff reposted on TIKTOK of all places) on other social media or seeing shitty fucking discourse that ends up literal doxxing of mutuals ive lost contact with its like OR at its best its like... a dead tag with the last post being three months ago (usually with mos tof the stuff im into its this one)
i think my final straw honestly was watching how the "welcome home" fandom was handled. seeing how Parasocial people got with OC creators to the point of disrespecting someone's boundaries of "dont send me porn of my own ocs" or people straight up taking fictionkin to justify delusional harrassment over a story that isnt even OUT/FINISHED yet??? kinda hit too close to home to me with the deranged shit i had to deal with as a teenager haha. ahhaah.
but like literally. community online has lost its appeal. its just a bunch of hungry scavenger types n its like. unless the urge to get something out There to someone to listen to aches so bad that i have to reach out to hear likeminded people i like sticking to old school forums and private servers!!! at least if shitty beef happens its Contained n doesnt end up become like a Youtube Deep Dive or smth .
its tiring. im tired. im having late night thoughts onto what made me lose the motivation to keep in touch with an online space that used to mean the world to me but honestly ive found happiness elsewhere. n the only reason why im keeping tumblr atm is bc the thought of deleting it on a sour note/on the simple Urge to just give it the fuck up saddens me too much. i made too many happy memories here/it did genuinely HELP me at a time when i literally had nothing but ive feel like ive outgrown a lot of (modern) social media n im just trying to fit myself in the skin of something that feels suffocating to me.
