You know, I feel like Cairngorm’s character arc would’ve actually been a really good one, if their love interest was literally anyone but Aechmea. Think about it, their story is sweet. A gem finally getting to discover who they are and have a sense of self. A Lunarian who’s never gotten to know the gems as people, meeting one for the first time and falling in love. Doing everything in his power to help them be happy, and in turn, the gem brings him the first true happiness he’s felt in years. Together, they break away from the conflict that’s been forced upon them. A bright moment showing that despite the bumps in the road, Phos really is doing something good here. I always thought we needed more random Lunarians interacting positively with the gems to help them be more sympathetic. But no, instead we got Aechmea. Whose list of war crimes is too long for me to ever forgive him. I don’t care that he gave the moon to the gems, that doesn’t undo all the thousands of years of trauma he inflicted upon them. He permanently destroyed the minds of Yellow and Phos among others. He fucked up their society, forcing the gems to adopt a culture of forgetting their loved ones, otherwise they’d have to live with the grief for eternity. So to see Cairngorm turn a blind eye to all of this and happily parade around with him, even after Aechmea admits to their face that he’s used both them and their people for his plans like puppets, really ruins the character for me.

Like, no wonder people got groomer vibes from it all. Cairngorm deserved better.

And yeah! It was pretty fun actually! My dad used to have a job which needed him to travel around a lot!He works in construction-Something pretty cool was in dubai where they were extending the Dragon Mall!I don't recall exactly but I think they didn't finish it?Or maybe they did... anyways you can still see it today! Unfortunately I can't remember this cause I was quite young, but we travelled a lot because of his work. The company started with the letter T but that's all I can say since I don't remember what is was called . Later we went to Libya where I then started kindergarten( actually I didn't even know that was the timeline everything was fuzzy lol I just asked my mum now). As for free Not at all, except for the first time ever I was allowed to go from my school to some shops nearby with my friends that was pretty shocking when I called my mum lol I expected her to reject the offer but she accepted!

For the question: so since im the type of person who knows nothing about herself () | wanted to ask my friend who l've known for like 5-6 years now what she thinks she would answer and this is what she said:

AGH FOR THE LOOKS LET ME TELL YOU - now ever since I was a kid I did not like kids at all, I'll spare you the gory details ... but yeah now it's sort of my"personality trait" I don't particularly hate them now per se BUT it's pretty uncomfortable if they come up to me. The issue is they always do and l'm just like so awkward. idk if you guys saw biden's new campaign ad (posted here on twitter) but i've had one thought i've been stuck on since it was posted and i wanted to know if anyone else has an opinion.

so an ad that takes a snippet of an opponent saying something that was negative in context but is a positive/something ppl of a similar alignment want to vote for is almost always going to be successful, and i think this one will be too, but-- my one critique is that the music feels so lame! it's light and pleasant, which isn't a bad thing, but they're putting a positive spin on the democratic legacy of FDR and LBJ who are held as modern day champions of the party (we'll ignore how wildly unpopular LBJ was by the end of his term), so i feel like the music should have been more uptempo or something that swelled up slowly over the course of the ad in order to mirror that magnitude and build some excitement about biden's work during his current term and what he could do in his second. it could be argued that using more "dramatic" music is too similar to how the right tends to approach ad campaigns, which might be seen as a negative by centrists/dems, but i don't necessarily think it's a bad thing to match energy in this specific context. it just made a compelling ad premise fall a bit flat for me.

but i know i'm biased and not necessarily the target demographic for campaign ads since that's what i study, so i was just curious about what you guys think.

and im curious if you have an opinion on this particular ad!

TUA Unpopular opinions?

Don’t get me wrong, i love the show but there are a few things that i dont like/ dont make sense to me so i wanted to have a little rant about it but im gonna do it under a read more so you all dont have to listen to me ramble so,

Em’s TUA unpopular (?) opinions (about s1 maybe but mostly s2):

I personally felt like they dumbed down Diego and in s2, i dont understand how he went from being in love and absolutely devastated about patchs death and then just completely forget about her and suddenly become in love with lila in what? 70 days? to me it felt like a cop out way of introducing Lila to the hargreeves.

 After 3 years sober klaus didn’t improve his powers at all??? like yeah we saw in the opening scene him using the ghosts to his advantage then that was it, there was no evident improvement to his powers except more control with ben. Surely hed be seeing more ghosts, having control over more ghosts or just anything,, but we didnt get that at all. I personally felt like he had more to do in s1 with his powers and we saw some great progression, we saw as he got sober when he was getting tortured he started seeing more ghosts then used them to his advantage and he literally died and came back to life.

At this point its becoming very inconsistent with him seeing the ghosts that hazel and cha cha have killed but not five??? or lila??? especially since he was sober (at least for a few days) in s1 and in s2 he just didn’t see any ghosts other than ben? 

 The writers keep writing Five out when its convenient to them and its just becoming,,, anoying?? theyve made him too powerful but instead of actually letting him use his powers with his siblings they just send him away to do something else when if he was there it would be completely avoidable. and when hes actually in these fight scenes they dumb him down, hes the most efficient assassin ever, hes the best assassin ever yet whenever hes in one of these fight scenes they make him do some very untatical skills that he just wouldn’t do

Allison has such a huge potential as a character and its frustrating how much her character is basically nothing like her comic character. some people may be happy about the fact shes nothing like her character but it just?? doesnt sit right with me. She was a bad bitch in the comics yet the only similarities from comic to tv was her relationship with luther (which in the comic she rumours him to being in love with her, not even them just being in love), her daughter and that she got her throat slit by vanya.

and to be honest she is a bit of a bitch in the comics and i really wanted to see more of that, like i appreciate her story development in the show but i wanted to see her and five and the whole story line of her and him and the involvement in JFK, i wanted to see that development in their relationship, her getting her voice back because of Five and the commission, her having some involvement with his assasination

now i know that they would not be able to make her pretend to be jackie, physically it would not happen but there could of been all sorts they could of done but instead they just wrote it all out and it peeved me off

it would of completely changed some of the sibling dynamics and it would be super interesting for diego have to deal with the fact his own sibling killed JFK

Five not eating carmicheal, there was other ways they couldve gotten lila to find the files and they ripped a great scene from the show to give it to a character that wasnt even in the comics

the fact that Five didn’t shoot vanya in the head and say “I never liked you” because he would be trying to break her powers basically, then vanya loosing all her memories when they travelled, five could do the whole be soft and then him saying “you really dont remember anything, do you?” and then her regaining her memory, i think it would be great personally

also five just being a dick, because he is in the comics, and i know its not the comics but if he’d of had the scene before him and allison go to the commission he opens up to allison about his commission time

im a gazelle and the jungle is my home is an iconic line and was yet again missed out

a topic i am affraid to talk about, lila: (this may be kinda long)

i do not like lila as a character, i dont like how she treats diego and exploits him and acts like everything is fine (she drugged and kidnapped him??!!??) and what the fuck are her powers

her entire character doesnt make sense, they just needed someone powerful to fight vanya and five

when did she even have the time to figure out her powers, Five clearly does not recognise her and neither do the other siblings so theres no chance she was able to practice during the commission because Five obviously wasnt around. And then she can just use them perfectly??? doesnt make sense to me

and i know some people love lila but she just grates me the wrong way

and now the writers have came across another problem of making her too powerful for her own good

and there was no clear build up to her powers, i wish they wouldve just introduced a new power because it would be so much less confusing

where does she fit in the timeline as well because five went on that mission with the handler but then just wasnt around for the next 25ish years when she was raising her??? 

the writers have bitten off more than they can chew with her i think and i will be very impressed if they somehow manage to pull it off

she just felt very random and forced into the show in my opinion

The fact that no one mentions fives actual open wounds that he probably still has, last i checked an actual shrapnel wound doesnt heal in what? 14 days? but they just ignored it i guess

in s1 Five not getting reggies monocle, just having diego throw it into the ocean im?? like why?? for what??? 

luther being in love with allison feels very slightly one sided when in the comic she!! rumoured!!! him!!!!

she basically didnt use her powers for anything useful and when she was about to lila used her power of imitation??? to rumour allison instead

kinda what i talked about earlier but five being the main plot driver until its inconvenient to the writers and then they make him dumb it frustrates me to no end

i just dont understand why they couldnt have lila with a brand new power, not just mimicking because it doesnt make sense and then she has the ability to use it perfectly when she wouldnt actually have any experience in using it??? if the writers are literally going to add christopher the cube they could of given her a better power

all the siblings basically just dismiss five, all the time, the only sibling through the show who have actually done something for five is Klaus in s1 when he literally smashed a snowglobe into his head for five and didnt even know why they were there. Even when luther goes with five he straight away sides with older five and like?? i understand it was a funny thing to add in but even then like its just odd

young five and old five not really having the same energy, its really minor but the five in s1 does not match the energy of old five in s2 when hes just about to go to 2019

Does rank the title track just mean picking your favorite song? Or like which represents the album? I'm always confused when I see posts like that. I think Fearless and Red fit the albums really well..like what the actual albums represent..young love for Fearless and heartbreak and emotions for Red. Compared to Speak Now and Lover, the songs themselves dont tell the theme of the album but as a title itself it does. I guess Lover kinda does but I wonder if they had their original titles Enchanted and Daylight if my opinion would change. On favorite songs, it would but not representing the album so I actually think Lover fits more cuz it's about all kinds of love. I guess I like it cuz it's almost similar to Red that way. I I think Evermore was picked cuz Taylor said the album is more about endings, but the song itself is actually somewhat hopeful at the end of the song compared to the end of some other songs..Champagne Problems, Coney Island, Happiness and Tolerate It we dont quite know the ending. Anyway so as a song, it doesnt really represent the album and it's also personal to Taylor but if we were just picking favorites, that would be my pick. Based on that post..title track, closing and track with a feature I could pick it three times lol. But I'd probably pick Red cuz it represents the album better, The Lakes..though I love Evermore as a closer too, and then Evermore..and that would be three of my favorite songs haha. It's funny how that worked out for you! I hope this makes enough sense.

i just consider it as picking my favourite of the songs. i agree that fearless and red most accurately represent the album themes whereas with speak now and lover it’s more just the titles (also my maybe unpopular opinion is that i definitely prefer speak now as a title instead of enchanted, i just think it really captures how it’s an album full of often very long self-written songs just pouring her heart out). evermore is fitting as a title too, since it relates to that idea of endings and also just sounds nice alongside folklore lol. it works so well as a closing track too, especially after those songs that don’t have the happy endings it’s nice to close on a more hopeful point. i saw someone else say evermore for all three too! it’s funny how there’s obviously just something about title and closing tracks that makes them extra good

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i fucking lie awake at night thinking about what would have happened if taako fell under the thrall of the gaia sash and magnus and taako had to help him and hurley and sloane came back right away as dryads and joined the team. it haunts me. he failed that will save and i wanted CONSEQUENCES. also b4 anyone is like “they’re immune” prove it.

My unpopular opinion about this character: DILF. THE TAZ FANDOM IS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH BUT IM NOT

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i always thought it was a weird choice to bring up merle’s arm during the chalice because it was played so much as a joke metatextually that it felt out of place next to the other two. especially knowing merle has backstory fodder too. i dont remember if they’d gotten to it yet. anyway i wish either they’d taken the arm thing more seriously the whole time or his option at the chalice was something else, i think the scene would have been more balanced. maybe it just felt out of place to deal with something we saw in game tho because the other two were backstory hooks. who knows.

then again griffin also brought up phandalin and they NEVER cared about that like it was always a joke so think partially it was griffin being like “CARE THESE ARE VERY SERIOUS THINGS THAT HAPPENED” so i guess thats fine. idk where im going with this.

My thoughts: I love them heaps!!! Like Ymir says they’re both very similar with y'know the whole living a lie thing they’ve been through. They’ve both been through horrible things no little girl should have gone through. Yet (as much as Ymir likes to deny it) they both still have some compassion inside and a caring nature. I just feel like they really understand each other and they need someone like that. I also just think they compliment each other really nicely like two sides of the same coin. I love their lil fights/arguments too I think they’re adorable bc they’re healthy and normal and are usually made to try and help the other person. Summary: they’re super cute I love them

What makes me happy about them: That they’re canon (especially as lgbts) !!! Like I can still remember the day it was announced my friend and I were like crying and clinging to each other the whole day haha. And they’re just really cute and a perfect match in my opinion

What makes me sad about them:If you’re caught up on the manga I think you could take a guess. Also how they seem to be almost destined to never be properly together with Ymir’s deal with Reiner and Historia with her queen duties. Also both of their backstories are tragic and always make me sad

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:I guess just mischaracterisation like Historia being portrayed as super sweet and innocent. Other than that nothing really!

Things I look for in fanfic:I’m always looking out for canonverse yumihisus but I haven’t came across many. I’m not sure, I haven’t really read a yumihisu fic that’s really blown me away. How I feel about this character: She’s a blessing. She’s very sweet and strong. I wish she wasn’t just reduced to potato jokes bc she’s so much more than that! She’s such a good person and character! I love how goofy and sometimes rebellious yet polite and kind she is. I love that she’s shown with the little insecurity of her accent and her way of speaking but her friends always try and bring her out of that as they love her the way she is. I love that she expresses fear as you realistically would. She’s a very real, believable and relatable character.

My unpopular opinion about this character: While I thought the added scenes of Sasha in s2 were cute I was a little upset that almost all of her added dialogue revolved around food bc I’m kind of over that being a main characteristic of her when she’s so much more

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I want her to see her papa again and I want him and everyone to tell her how proud they are of her and how strong she has been/is. I want her to look after herself and be swarmed with love and support from her friends

Character: Historia

How I feel about this character: Historia is really important to me personally as I relate to her a lot (both of us being super gay for Ymir lmao)

But like the whole taking on a different personality for most of your life. Like I was very much like Krista during most of my school life. I was overly kind, sweet and caring to everyone even people who really did not deserve it. It’s quite interesting actually that as I read Historia starting to ‘live for herself’ and as herself I was too. So I kind of grew out of that with her which is why she’s very important to me.

And it’s always nice to find a character you relate to and the fact that she likes girls too is just 🙏🙏

My non-romantic OTP for this character:Maybe Reiner and Historia? Like I can see them being each other’s beards and maybe in an au tricking the parents that they’re straight as they’re both pretty much the poster children of the bf/gf you’d want to show off to your mum. And I think they could have been quite good friends

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t think people think it anymore but I remember when the chapters were coming out as her as Historia most people thought she was this super cold bitch (me included at first) but hah that’s not the case. I mean she’s not ridiculously nice goddess Krista but she definitely still cares about herself, Ymir, her friends and children. You just have to remember she had a rough life and childhood of course she’s gonna come across as cold and distant sometimes.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:I want her and Ymir to get married and to take in the orphaned children and raise them as their own (with the help of her loyal servants and possibly in their free time Levi Squad as Historia is a very busy queen). Ymir would love her lots and Historia would raise and treat the children how she wished she could have been. She’d dedicate as much time as she could with them. I want her to be happy and content with her life

Why I like themi had to answer this one last because for the life of me i could not think of a definite reason that i like him. but every time he talks we learn a ~little~ bit more about him and why he’s the way he is and he’s just really interestingobviously, “cool motive still murder” but he doesn’t have to be a good person to be a good character

Brotpashe. i meantioned it a post a while ago, but they’ve gone through, maybe not *similar* shit, but it’s at least comprable to each other. i can see ashe taking on a quasi-big sister role to zal another option is colvin. zal low-key admiring colvin for being weird but super straight-forward and basically the opposite of xin in every way (and he can also kick xin’s ass which is super cool?) so as colvin’s going about his day doing colvin things zalvetta’s just kind of chillin in the background
